Hey everybody, Rick here we thought it would be fun to let ChatGPT write this episode that describes ChatGPT. Most of the content in this episode was gleaned from the ChatGPT interface and then run through a text audio synthesizer that we have on hand here at the Cyberwire. We've also edited for clarity and redundancy and supplemented the answers with newer information since the ChatGPT interface is only current to the year 2021. Enjoy.

The word is chatg. Spelled chat as in an informal conversation or discussion either in person or online between two or more people and G for generative, P for pre trained and T for transformer. Definition, A conversational language model developed by the company OpenAI. Example Sentence by using chat GPT, we were able to quickly generate a comprehensive FAQ for our website and improve customer satisfaction. Origin and Context Founded in 2015 by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, and Wojciech Zaremba, OpenAI is a research organization with the goal of promoting and developing friendly AI in a responsible and safe manner. It is based in San Francisco, California and has received funding from a number of investors including Musk himself, Microsoft, Reid Hoffman's charitable foundation, and Khosla Ventures. Brockman is the Chairman and President, Sutskever is the Chief Scientist and Altman is the CEO. ChatGPT is based on OpenAI's GPT3 language model with the goal to provide a conversational AI system that can understand and respond to human language in a way that is similar to a human. It was first released in 2020. The generative aspect of the model refers to its ability to produce new text based on its training data, and pre trained means that it was trained on a large corpus of text data before being fine tuned for specific tasks. The transformer part refers to the architecture used in the model explained in the original paper Attention Is all youl need. Published in 2017. The paper introduced the transformer architecture which has since become widely used in natural language processing tasks such as machine translation. Machine translation or mt, is the process of automatically translating text or speech from one language to another using computational methods with the goal to produce a high quality human like translation of the source text that accurately conveys its meaning. Types of machine translation include rule based systems, statistical machine translation, and neural machine translation or nmt. The transformer architecture is based on the idea of self attention which allows the model to weight different input elements differently rather than using a fixed length context window. A fixed length context window is a fixed sized number of words used to predict the next word in a sentence or a document, but this has some limitations. Self attention mechanisms allow the model to weight different input elements differently, enabling it to better capture long range dependencies in the input. Nerd Reference There is currently no TV show or movie that accurately demonstrates the capabilities of a language model like ChatGPT. However, there are several works of fiction that deal with artificial intelligence and language processing, such as the movie her and the TV show Westworld, which may give some insight into the concept of advanced AI language models. Hur explores themes related to artificial intelligence, but it is primarily a work of fiction and not a close representation of the capabilities of a language model like ChatGPT. That being said, Hur does depict an advanced AI system with language processing capabilities which are similar to those of language models like ChatGPT. It is important to remember that the AI system depicted in the film is a fictional representation and does not accurately reflect the capabilities of real world language models. The main cast of the film her includes Joaquin Phoenix as Theodore Twombly and Scarlett Johansson as the voice of Samantha.

Are you social or antisocial?
User
I guess I haven't really been social in a while, mostly because in your voice.
OS1 Voice
I sense hesitance. Would you agree with that?
User
Was I sounding hesitant?
OS1 Voice
Yes.
User
Sorry if I was sounding hesitant. I was just trying to be more accurate.

Theme: Deception, influence, and social engineering in the world of cybercrime, with a special focus on defining and contextualizing "ChatGPT."
This special episode of Hacking Humans explores the origins, technological underpinnings, and cultural significance of ChatGPT—OpenAI’s landmark conversational language model. In a meta twist, the main episode content is composed and narrated by ChatGPT itself, as curated and introduced by Rick Howard. The episode traces what ChatGPT is, how it works, and its place in the broader history of artificial intelligence, with references to media portrayals of AI such as the film Her.
