The Hawkeyes showed up for the bowl game, scoring 21 first half points and led by 10 in the second half but couldn't secure the victory. Mizzou QB threw well and ran the ball, and the Hawkeyes couldn't convert on third down in the second half, despite running the ball well the whole game. Iowa traveled to Wisconsin for a Friday night basketball game and got steamrolled. The Iowa defense was non-existent in this game, and they let Wisconsin shoot wide open threes the whole game. Can the Hawkeyes bounce back?

The Hawkeyes face a pretty stout defense in Mizzou, especially against the run. Offensively, Mizzou is balanced but do most of their scoring on the ground. The Hawkeyes run D will need to be stout against the Tigers. Iowa men got a big W over Utah in Sioux Falls to close out the non-con, other than one more game on the 30th, after the bowl game. The Utah win was big, but soon it will be all Big Ten and the Hawkeyes will need to take care of business to get to the NCAA tournament. With the long break, I'm ready to see a healthy Traore excel on the court!

A slow start had the Hawkeyes playing catch up against the Wolverines, and the Hawks couldn't get a tough three to fall at the buzzer. Iowa is now 1-1 in the Big Ten. Third ranked Iowa State came to town, and the Hawkeyes looked ready for an upset, but they couldn't sustain it late in the 2nd half, and the Clones got hot late. Nice W by the Iowa women over the Clones. The Hawks landed a QB from Auburn in the portal named Hank Brown.

Nebraskans are rude and don't shake hands with Iowans. The Hawkeyes have now won nine of ten against the Huskers, despite abysmal offensive numbers in this game. Drew Stevens with the W!! Josh Dix is getting healthy, and the Hawkeyes got a home Big Ten win over NW on a last second 3 by Dix. Injuries are making it tough with Trayore and Koch out, but the Hawkeyes can shoot it from 3. It doesn't get any easier from here!

Kaleb Johnson is probably the best RB we have seen in the black and gold, and he continues to grow the argument. Nice play by the OL and a 4th string QB who looks better than the #1 QB earlier in the season. The defense was back to looking like a Phil Parker defense. Unfortunately for Fran's team, they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn from 3 point range in KC against a decent Utah State team and let one get away in a neutral court with many Hawkeyes in attendance.

Disappointing loss against UCLA with the defense continuing to decline, and Sully going down helped sink the ship. Next up is Maryland and analyst Brian Ferentz. Fran's boys are 4-0 after a nice win in Moline over Washington State. Some intriguing talent on this team!

The Hawkeyes dismantled the Badgers in a Kinnick night game with over 300 yards rushing. Three in a row in the series, and the Hearland Trophy is getting used to Iowa City. Next up are the UCLA Bruins in the Rose Bowl. It's a good rushing defense for the Bruins, but the Hawkeyes will overwhelm the powder blue on the gridiron. Two games in, it's hard to tell what Fran has for a basketball team, but it will be entertaining with a lot of 3s going up.

After righting the ship against an awful NW team, the Hawkeyes stay at home to face the rival Badgers. These teams are similar as far as defensive numbers and passing game woes. Wisconsin is not as the old Badger team, and they do give up over 140 yards rushing a game. In comes Kaleb Johnson.....and that gives the Hawkeyes the edge in this game!

It's been a rollercoaster ride of a season with most games even being a different story by half. After a nice home W against Washington, a disappointing L in East Lansing has left a sour taste in the mouth of fans. A playoff run is out of the picture, but a good season is still possible if the Hawkeyes run the table, starting with a Homecoming win over NW. QB play has been inconsistent, and the defense seems to be regressing against the run and pass. Iowa basketball starts today with an exhibition game on B1G+ Network at Carver.

Ohio State was too much for the Hawkeyes with their $20 million dollar roster. Now it's on to Washington in a Big Ten matchup of a high potent offense traveling two time zones for a conference game at Kinnick Stadium. My prediction and Washington notes.
