Full article and links available at: tashcorbin.com/531This one’s going to be blunt and to the point. I want to talk about a 2012-era social media strategy that way too many people are still following—and why it’s time to let it go. I’ll share the backstory, the pitfalls, what to do instead, and how this simple shift could seriously change the game for your business.Old School Social Media Advice We Just Need to DitchI can’t believe I still hear this advice: meet your audience “where they’re at”—which apparently means you should be on every single social platform. If some of your people are on TikTok, you’ve got to be there; others are on Instagram, there too; Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube... You “should” be everywhere. This social media strategy came from the early days of online business—think 2011 and 2012. Gary Vee’s book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook (with all its punchy analogies!), was all about the idea of creating lots of platform-specific content, nudging and niggling your audience along until you hit them with your offer.Back then, Gary Vee was everywhere—posting custom content to every platform, and encouraging everyone else to do the same. And if you were around in the early days, you’ll remember the “golden age” of social media: Facebook and Twitter feeds were chronological, there were ZERO algorithms, and your posts had a good chance of actually being seen.During that time, posting three times a day on your Facebook page was the recommendation! Some people kept up, but most of us stuck to one post a day. You’d share those posts to groups, invite your email list to check them out, and people would see your stuff—even if you only had a handful of followers....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/531Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and links available at: tashcorbin.com/530Have you ever tried to use affirmations in your business only to run into a brick wall—your own brain telling you, “That’s not true”? You’re not alone. In this episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast, I’m sharing my real experiences (including my struggles) with affirmations, along with practical ways to make them work for you, even if you don't believe them right now.My Early Struggles With AffirmationsI’ll be honest—I’ve definitely experienced times when I don't believe my affirmations, especially when what I’m trying to affirm feels really far from my current reality. When I first started my business, for example, I told a mindset coach, “I just feel like I’m not organised enough to be a business owner.” She told me to repeat out loud, “I am so organised. I am such an organised person. My business runs like clockwork,” and so on. No matter what version we tried, my brain just kept shouting, “No you’re not!” Every time I said it, either out loud or in front of the mirror, my mind argued back.So Many Affirmations, So Many ArgumentsI’ve been in business since 2013, and there have always been some affirmations that stick and some that just spark an argument in my head because I don't believe them. The idea behind affirmations is that if you repeat something enough, your brain will eventually build a neural pathway to match. Sometimes that’s true. But other times, standing in front of the mirror gritting my teeth and repeating affirmations I don’t believe just creates a sense of dissonance instead of momentum toward my goals. But I actually celebrate when I find that gap—the space where affirmations feel really tough or impossible, and I don't believe them. The affirmations we struggle with the most often give us clues about the core mindset blocks or self-sabotage we most need to address....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/530Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and links available at: tashcorbin.com/529Today's episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast started as a reply to a question I received after episode 507—the one where I talked about niching and said, "Stop making it about yourself, you're not the main character." After that, someone messaged me asking, "But Tash, don’t I actually need a bit of main character energy in my business? Shouldn’t I be stepping more into the spotlight?"I loved that question so much, I knew we had to dig into it. So let’s talk about what main character energy really is in business, and where you absolutely should—and shouldn't—lean into it.When Should You Embrace Main Character Energy? You might be surprised to hear me say this, but: absolutely yes, I want you to embrace main character energy. I want you to step into the spotlight, as often and as proudly as possible… when it comes to your story.Let me explain. In episode 507, I talked about niching and why it's not about you. When you’re making decisions about your niche, your messaging, and your sales pages, it needs to focus on your ideal client. You are the guide, not the main character of that story. Your audience—the people you serve—are the heroes. But that doesn’t mean everything in your business is about them and you somehow disappear. Quite the opposite....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/529Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and links available at: tashcorbin.com/528Let me start this episode by saying: I’m not 100% sure everyone’s going to love what I have to say, but this is an important topic if you want to make informed decisions for your business moving forward. We need to talk about a slow but subtle shift I’ve seen happening on social media—one that’s really starting to speed up. I promise, this won’t be as vague as it sounds. If you’re trying to grow an audience on social media, feeling frustrated by slowing audience growth, or thinking about how you might need to shift your strategy, then you’ll want to stick with me for this one.The Ever-Changing Social Media LandscapeChange is a constant in our lives, but nowhere is that more clear than in the world of social media. The landscape for business owners is always shifting: new trends, algorithm updates, platform tweaks—those changes come at us fast. Sometimes things like links are suddenly deprioritised or new features like reels take over. But running beneath those fast shifts is something slower, subtler, and it’s really starting to pick up pace. What’s the social media shift? It’s the very real shortening timeframe between signing up for a platform and the point when you “need” to spend real money on ads to get seen. And honestly, I know a lot of you aren’t going to love that....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/528Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/527Have you ever had a friend, client, or maybe even a family member come to you with what they see as a completely unsolvable business problem, and you can clearly see the answer staring them in the face? Or maybe, you’ve had that moment yourself? That’s exactly how I felt recently, and it inspired this episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast. I want to talk about self-sacrifice, bootstrapping, making do—and how those habits might actually be huge mindset blocks in disguise that are sabotaging you.The Facebook Post That Sparked EverythingThis conversation started when I posted a question on my Facebook page: "If you had all the money you needed, would you still run your business? And if so, what would you do differently?"The responses were fascinating, and some even turned into deeper conversations in DMs, client sessions, and emails. I want to shout out a big thank you to everyone who jumped into that conversation—you’ve given me so much food for thought (fabulous fodder, as I like to say) for this episode. From all those comments and conversations, three things really stood out to me...Read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/527Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/526Join the GYM! tashcorbin.com/gymBefore we dive into the heart of this week’s episode, I want to touch quickly on last week’s Heart-Centred Business Podcast. I know it was a departure from my usual vibe—let’s just say, it was a bit less nurturing, less gentle, and probably a lot more direct than you’re used to from me. I apologised for the tone back then, but not the message, and I still stand by that! Was I premenstrual? Maybe. Did I just finish a late-night netball session with a hyped-up pack of 12-year-olds? Absolutely. My voice was on the way out. I was, I admit, a little bit in a mood. The thing is, sometimes when Aunty Tash lets loose, it’s for good reason—the rant and the message are always sent with love, even if they don’t sound all that loving in the moment. So, if life has you feeling frazzled and overwhelmed, or you’re running wild on the hamster wheel, I hope that last week’s episode at least sparked a little fire. We’re all just trying to navigate this wild “fire Horse year” and maybe you needed a push to do something about it.This week, it’s all about being overwhelmed—if you’re still feeling like you’re drowning in all the things (maybe it was the world, maybe it was the Lego you stepped on this morning—who knows!), I think today’s episode is exactly what you need.Today, I’m diving into what to do when you're overwhelmed and it feels like it’s taking over. Why Overwhelm Feels So DebilitatingLet’s be real: I don’t need to explain what overwhelm feels like. You know it! It sneaks into every part of your life. I’ve felt it myself, especially over the last few weeks. So let’s cut to the chase: what do you actually DO when overwhelm is running the show and it feels like your brain is slowly shutting down because, frankly, the sheer volume of everything is just too much?...read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/526 Join the GYM!tashcorbin.com/gymLet me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/525Now more than ever, when I ask people how they are, the one answer I keep hearing is, “I’m busy.” There’s too much to do, not enough time, and this year is getting away from so many of us. But here’s the thing—not every job or task is created equal. If you’re caught up in busyness that’s not actually moving you forward, you’re on a treadmill. You’re on the hamster wheel. And today on the Heart-Centred Business Podcast, I’m getting really honest about what it looks like to be stuck on that wheel, how you can tell if you’re doing it, and—most importantly—what you can do about it.What Does Being “Busy” Really Mean Anyway?Let’s talk about all the “busy” work we end up doing as business owners. There are SO many tasks that feel repetitive: thinking time, learning, content creation, tidying up, updating, strategising, making decisions, redoing plans—the list goes on. Progress doesn’t always look pretty, and it rarely happens in a vacuum. It can be genuinely tricky to know if what you’re doing is helping or if you’re just running on the spot. So, how can you tell if all those busy days and weeks are actually taking you somewhere, or if you’re just spinning your wheels? For me, it comes down to results—especially income. That doesn’t mean my results or income have to be going up all the time, but I’m always keeping an eye on one big thing: am I getting closer to my vision for the life and business I want? Progress for me isn’t measured by effort or how busy I look. It’s about real results. Are things actually improving? Are my actions making a difference? Or would these results have happened even if I’d done nothing? You’ve got to stop regularly and take stock, not just coast along....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/525Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/524Have you ever had a phrase just keep pinging around your brain? For me, ever since our Lunar New Year reading with Kerry Rowett, "take your time" has been popping up again and again. Kerry gave us three big messages in her reading (which you can find at tashcorbin.com/508), but this one keeps resurfacing as a little intuitive nudge. It’s led me to a whole new conversation, which I want to have with you right here on the Heart-Centred Business Podcast.Even if you missed Kerry’s Lunar New Year reading (or if you want to hear it again), I totally recommend checking it out. There’s so much gold in there. We dug into practical ways to bring those big messages to life, so go back and give it another listen when you get the chance. From Kerry’s reading, three big principles showed up:Take your time.Stay in your lane.Trust the process. But it’s that first one, "take your time," that’s really stuck with me—especially in the past couple of weeks. I keep feeling like we’re not done talking about it yet, so here I am, picking it apart with new angles and fresh ways to think about it....Read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/524Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/523I want to share a theory about mindset for business owners. It's been bubbling up for a while, and it feels like there’s a bigger picture we’re not seeing these days—especially when it comes to how mindset work fits into the business journey.Let’s talk about why working with mindset practitioners used to be a no-brainer, why it isn’t as mainstream now, and what that means for new and established business owners. How It All Started: The “Must-Have” Mindset Work of the Early DaysWhen I started my business in 2013, it felt like everyone who was serious about business had a mindset practitioner. Especially if you were in the early, scrappy, trying-to-get-it-to-work stages, mindset work wasn’t just a nice-to-have, it was essential. Back then, business strategy was simpler. Fewer tech options, fewer platforms. If you wanted to run a webinar, you pretty much only had GoToWebinar—and that platform cost $197 USD every single month. In other words, you really needed at least one paying client just to cover your tech bill. With so few options, it was crystal clear if something wasn’t working—either you hadn't nailed the basics, or you had a mindset block. If you weren’t doing that handful of core actions, it was probably a mindset issue. Results were consistent, too. People talked about the 3% conversion rule: get 100 people on your webinar, and you'd likely get three clients if your offer was solid and under $1,000.There was this sharp focus, and because of that, if you weren’t taking action or seeing results, mindset was the obvious place to look....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/523Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference
