Fanatic! It’s our last show for the year. Engineer X, Engineer Am-Rock and I would like to thank you so much for tuning in. We hope we kept things interesting and that you will stay with us as we go fanatically into 2025. Just my opinion, but I don’t think there’s ever been a time when music wasn’t essential to getting through the challenges life throws at us, seemingly at every turn. That being said, I think music becomes more of an asset in certain times. It keeps us inspired, curious and encouraged. I have no crystal ball for this kind of thing but it very well could be that we will be leaning on music pretty hard next year. Good thing for us, there’s a lot of good music to be heard and we’re going to listen to a lot of it. We hope you’ll find tonight’s show to be a good soundtrack for whatever you’re up to as 2024 draws to a close. Yesterday, Engineer X and I started putting the finishing touches on our first show for next year. It’s going to be a great one. Until then, keep jamming and STAY FANATIC!!! –– Henry Hour 1 Dr. Sure’s Unusual Practice - Escalator Man / Reality Continuals- First Of Many Popsicles / Continuals David Bowie - The Secret Life Of Arabia / “Heroes” Snooper - On Line / Split W/ Prison Affair Ekko Astral - Head Empty Blues / Pink Balloons Pere Ubu - Life Stinks / The Modern Dance Naked Roommate - Successful Friend / Pass The Loofah Gyasi - Sweet Thing / Here Comes The Good Part Freak Genes - Reflective Surface / Delirik The Prids - Tell You Nothing / I Only Care About You And Me Kosmetika - Fish / Luxury Jay Reatard - Greed, Money, Useless Children / Blood Visions 1-800 Mikey - Japan / Digital Pet Hunger Anthem - Bloodsucker / Lift The Serfs - Outsider / Primal Matter Osess - Pixelated Moon / Sorcs 80 Dee Dee Ramone- Sheena Is A Punk Rocker / Greatest And Latest The Fall - Time Enough At Last / Code: Selfish Quix*o*tic - Ice Cream Sundae / Mortal Mirror Omar Souleyman - Rahat Al Chant Ymme / Erbil Hour 2 Tófa - Revenge / Mauled Dinosaur Jr. - Been There All TheTime / Beyond The Jesus & Mary Chain - Subway / The Power Of Negative Thinking: B-Sides And Rarities Jealous Yellow - Purple Crayon / Czech Vampires XYZ – Bubblegum / XYZ Cosey Mueller - Falsches Ding / Soft Core Deerhoof - +81 / Friend Opportunity Mark Stewart + Maffia - High Ideals And Crazy Dreams / Learning To Cope With Cowardice Devo - Shrivel Up/ Are We Not Men? Fanatic. I hope you had a good week. Hopefully the winds that have been feeding the fires in Southern California are pulling back and allowing firefighting personnel to make advances against the flames. One of our listeners has lost his home. This is his gofundme.com page. There are people who are unfortunately politicizing this catastrophe. Please do not lose sight of the hard fact that a lot of good people are suddenly without a home to live in, a school to go to or much else but the clothes. This is not the time to point fingers. Clean up, restoration, and the other heavy lifts will be costly and take years to complete. Fanatic, as you’re probably well aware, days ago, we lost the great film director David Lynch. I had the good fortune to be in one of his films and to have visited with him on many occasions. Our conversations were always fascinating, ranging from music to art to whatever else was on his mind. My manager, Heidi reminded me that years ago. She and I did a podcast of me recounting stories from being with David. I thought you might like to hear it, so here’s the address. We have a tremendous gathering of tunes for you tonight. Hopefully, you’ll have a really great time listening. Have a good weekend, play as much music as you can until we meet again next week and stay Fanatic. –– Henry
Fanatic. I hope no matter where you are that you’re safe and in good condition. I can’t explain how sorry I am for what has been lost. We hope you enjoy tonight’s gathering of tracks. Fanatic! I hope you had a great week and that no matter where you are, the weather is not too severe. Here we are, together again in a new year. It’s not for me to talk about an upcoming release before a band or label does but I know for sure there are some really good records coming out this year and we will definitely be checking them out. We hope you dug last year’s shows and look forward to keeping the music happening all through this year. These are some of the records I checked out over the last few days. Fanatic! I hope you had a great week and had a chance to listen to some music. I’ve been playing a lot of those very cool Stooges rehearsal compilation LPs. A lot of the tracks overlap but I don’t mind. I think it’s these records that show how great this band was. My Girl Hates My Heroin Rubber Legs Till The End Of The Night Heavy Liquid Wild Love Fanatic Denise steered me to a very cool record called Versions Of Modern Performance by a band called Horsegirl. The vinyl just arrived. Good record. We’ll start tracks soon. Tonight we’re going to listen to a new track by Dax Riggs. It’s been a long time since this very talented musician put out any music. As far as I know, there are two tracks available from his upcoming release, 7 Songs For Spiders which comes out in late January of next year. Really looking forward to this one. The Czech Vampires album by Jealous Yellow Is really good. Tonight’s track by Agender is from their upcoming album due next year. I haven’t heard it yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Here’s info on the track we’re playing tonight. Hopefully, you’ll find tonight’s show to be a good soundtrack for the weather you’re in. Engineer X and I are putting the finishing touches on next week’s show and will soon send it to Engineer Am-Rock. Thanks for listening and STAY FANATIC!!! –– Henry

Fanatic! I understand that the Thanksgiving holiday can sometimes be intense for some people who have to gather with members of their family who they might have strong disagreements with, spend hours with them, ending with a grand meal set at a table before all parties are allowed to stagger away fuming and go back to their respective dwellings. The angry parties, all swearing vengeance, promise to do it all over again around this time next year. Sounds crazy to me but humans are highly complex creatures. Tonight’s show is ever so slightly conceptual. If you notice, Generation X tracks start both hours. We are doing this because it is Billy Idol's birthday. Happy birthday, Billy! I did some great listening over the last few days, here are a few of the records I checked out. Sun Ra – Ra To The Rescue Eric Dolphy – Out There Eric Dolphy – Outward Bound Corker – Hallways Of Grey Boris / Coaltar Of The Deepers 12” Doe St – Doe St J Mascis - What Do We Do Now Joy Division – Pictures In My Mind Des Demonas – Apocalyptic Boom! Worth checking out. We’ll be getting tracks from these bands into upcoming shows. https://damnably.bandcamp.com Fanatic, tonight’s show I do believe is a happening mix of new and old that you’ll hopefully find enjoyable. Taleen Kali’s cover of Cupid Come by My Bloody Valentine is really good. We’re playing a track from the new Des Demonas album, a cool live version of the great Roland S Howard channeling Billy Idol’s classic track White Wedding and we finish the show with David Bowie doing Wild Is The Wind from Station To Station which I think is one of his greatest vocal performances. And somehow the Misfits and the Gun Club also found their way into the show as well. You can chalk that up to good planning. We wish Billy Idol the happiest of birthdays and hope you have a great time digging tonight’s show. Fanatic! I hope you had a most excellent up-to-here with music week since we last got together on the radio. I’ve got my sleep cycle under a fair bit of control. I’m up early and have all or most of my desk work done by early evening, which allows me to get some records played every night. The listening has been tremendous. Engineer X and I have finished next week’s show, our first for Fanatic December 2024. I listened to all the tracks back yesterday and I think it will be a great way to start the month. There’s nothing to fear, just things to do. Until then, take incredibly good care of yourself, fill the air with music and STAY FANATIC!!! –– Henry
Fanatic! I hope your week was buoyant and full of music. I’ve been getting in good vinyl sessions after work every single night. It’s been Joy Division bootlegs, the Bratmobile reissues, Station To Station, The Idiot, Machine Gun Etiquette, Music For Pleasure, the Cramps Live at Max's Kansas City bootleg and some of the more recent Wolf Eyes albums, to name but a few. The listening has been premium. Or as the Necros used to say, “choice!” The new Des Demonas LP Apocalyptic Boom Boom! is coming out at the end of the month on In The Red and it’s really good. We’ll start tracks from it later this month. https://intheredrcords.com/collections/des-demonas/products/des-demonas-s-t-copy Every once in a while, an old person can do what a young person does and not look ridiculous. Listening to music is one of those things. I think music is one of the better deals we humans ever got. In fact, maybe it’s the best. Maybe we should invest as much of our time in health, music, art, and culture as we can and leave the mediocre content to the squares. Just an idea. Fanatic, we hope you will find tonight’s selection of tunes to be an excellent soundtrack no matter when or how or from where you’re listening. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to tune in. I’m about 100% sure you have quite a few options so it means a lot that you’re checking out the show. Just yesterday, Engineer X and I put the finishing touches on next week’s show and it’s a great one. We hope you’ll dig what we’ve got lined up for you tonight.
