Dirty Mo Media Announcer
The following is a production of Dirty Mo Media.
Herman Schrader
I'm looking at Kenny Schrader right now.
Kenny Schrader
He is a drinker in the show.
Herman Schrader
I mean, yeah, how in the World. Did we agree to do a podcast?
Kenny Schrader
I like spending time with you.
Herman Schrader
That makes me happy.
Kenny Schrader
Well, it's all about making you happy.
Herman Schrader
We're always honest.
Kenny Schrader
We don't know that we're not in trouble already. You. And sometimes truthful. What makes you think you're not a little different?
Herman Schrader
You're weird, too. Herman Schrader.
Kenny Schrader
Both of us are actually in St. Louis. You know, we say St. Louis, it's St. Louis area. Because neither one of us are in St. Louis. Takes a while to get there.
Herman Schrader
Yeah, technically, I am 20 miles south on Interstate 55. So if you leave the arch, you go by Anheuser Busch and you head towards Memphis to me and then Kenny, I mean, you don't gotta tell people how to get your shots. No, you're different if I.
Kenny Schrader
If you go the other way. If you go west on 44, southwest on 44. Towards Springfield. Yeah, we're out that way.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. So, Dietz, how you doing, buddy?
Kenny Schrader
Great.
Alan Deets
Great. You know, we always remind people that recorded so Monday, for what it's worth, watch to Carolina Hurricanes last night. I love it. All that was. I've watched more hockey in the last three weeks than I've probably watched in my life, so I guess I am a bandwagon fan, but I am a Homer. So glad the home guys won, Schrader.
Herman Schrader
It's not fair. The Blues and all these great teams from Canada, they've been in hockey their whole lives, and then all of a sudden, here comes a Carolina Hurricanes. They ain't been in hockey 15 years, and is that their second Stanley Cup?
Alan Deets
Yeah. Yeah. I got. I got a couple of friends from up in New England, specifically Connecticut, and I'm like, why are you. Why are you coming down on. On the team in Raleigh? That's the. As the Hartford Whalers. Man, y' all won two championships. Now, the Hartford Whalers, they don't like that. Too good.
Kenny Schrader
Well, they. They would have never won if they wouldn't have been better, right?
Herman Schrader
Yeah. Competition to kill you deets. That's what they say. Well, Kenny, what did you do over the weekend?
Kenny Schrader
Oh, I got rained out. Rained out Thursday and Saturday, so hopefully we get started again. We're looking at maybe Thursday, Fridays. Well, Thursday to Thursday. We're. Well, Thursday to the following Saturday. So we're looking at seven to nine in a row possibly, but who knows? I did turn on the race for a little bit yesterday after I figured out how to turn the race on, because I'm old and I have a smart tv. Well, the TV can Be, be smart. But the idiot that's running it isn't. And I was so friggin mad and then I saw this prime logo jump up and I thought, huh? Oh yeah, I think that's it. And boy, I was happy once I got it on. I liked what, I liked what I saw.
Herman Schrader
Well, believe me, you're not being picked on with the rain and great segue. Let's get started on nascar, everyone. You know, if prime network. Let's just go right now. Here we go. If prime network does not move this race up 2 hours. They started at 1 o', clock, they should have started at 3. If they don't move it up deets, it, it gets rained out. So the, the weather people were not picking on Schrader. I mean it rained all across America. Was. I mean could any other network. Indeed. The reason I'm sending this to you, you're, you're, you know, you've been in the TV industry your whole life. That's what you've done. Was that unprecedented two hours I've seen an hour.
Alan Deets
Yeah, I think they have the ability being a streamer, you, you don't, you know, your schedule, programming is a variety of things because the, the person watching makes their schedule. You can watch it whenever and you don't have that luxury with the networks. And Fox has had a little bit of freedom. I think NBC, it's, it's a little bit tighter because you know they have sports going from one sport to NASCAR to football once, once football season starts, but that's when the race should have started anyhow. I mean, I'm sorry but you know, starting these races, sitting around waiting for the thunderstorms all day because of the west coast. And listen, I'm not picking on the west Coast. I've had friends out there tell me that when they were growing up, they got up knowing they were going to watch cup race at 10 o' clock in the morning. That's what they did. They watch NFL games at 10 o' clock in the morning. So I don't, I don't like this stuff of all you're doing whenever you schedule These races for 3 o' clock in the afternoon is waiting on thunderstorm to pop up and luckily that didn't happen and we got to see the whole race.
Herman Schrader
Okay, Kenny Schrader, I hear you loud and clear. I don't blame you. I want to tell you that you and I have to get with the program. I googled this for you and I'm going to read it right off of Google Amazon prime video reaches 315 million monthly viewers worldwide. This massive global audience makes it one of the largest streaming services in the world, spanning its ad supporter tier, ad free tier, and live sports broadcast. So 315 million a month. My Lord.
Kenny Schrader
I know. I know what the problem was. The problem was. Operator. I know that I got no problem with. And once I got there, it was great. And I like. I like what they've done. I'm looking forward to next week's race big time. You know, a lot of. Lot of people that's going to be altogether new, and I think the prime crew has done a phenomenal job. And I know I got to step up my program, and I got there, and it was good.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
Wow.
Herman Schrader
Just. I couldn't have said it any better. Once again, everybody, rain was in the forecast on Sunday at Pocono, but it was on prime. And as Deet said, streaming network, they moved up two hours, and I don't think any other network would have been able to do that. And, wow, it just poured a little bit after the checkered flag. So, man, if we could have that, being able to move the starting time around when you see rain in the. Because that race would have definitely ran on Monday. No doubt in my mind.
Alan Deets
Yeah, no lights. So that's. If I'm prime. That's the first thing I'm telling NASCAR is I'm like, you don't have lots here. We can get this in if we move it back. Do you guys want to stick around till Monday before you go to San Diego? I don't think so. So it worked out okay.
Herman Schrader
Moving on, everyone. Gang, I think we're on repeat, but I got it wrote down right here. We are definitely on repeat, but it's real. Denny Hamlin wins three in a row for his fourth win on the year. But more importantly, Kenny and. And I want you to speak to this. Listen to his last four finishes. One, one, one three. And that third place. He was taking the lead. And they throw the caution at Charlotte and they, you know, they go back to a line and Daniel Suarez wins that race. What can we say that we haven't said, Kenny?
Kenny Schrader
Well, you can't. There's not a whole lot more to say other than, okay, was that 65, 64, or five wins?
Herman Schrader
It's 64 wins for Denny Hamlin. 64.
Kenny Schrader
Okay, 64, you know, coulda, woulda should have been the, you know, was very, very close to being our defending champion from last year without one. One flat tire that brought out a yellow. It's why he gotta believe will be a first round hall of famer. He's just really been good. He's with an excellent team, which he's been with that same team since he started. He's a big reason that that team functions like they do. They're just on top of their stuff. I mean, you know, really, really, he just really, really good.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. I'm going to get into a little technicality. First of all, eight wins at Pocono and calling Pocono, Denny says, this is like my second home. Kenny, I want to throw that back to you. I mean like my best track was Richmond. I mean, listen, I love them all. I'm like you, Kenny. I'm a racer. We, we race them all, but for fun, Just for fun. Was there a track that you went to that you understood like Denny Hamlin understands Pocono, eight wins. That's a new track record.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah, we, you know, it's real simple. On my wins, I only had four of the damn thing. So it's, you know, it's easy to keep track of. We had more than me. Yeah, we had five poles at Pocono. They only ever ran second there one time. But you know, I like Pocono. But if I had to go one place every week, it would have been Daytona. Daytona. I loved, I love Daytona. Daytona, I loved it a lot more than Talladega. It's not, I didn't have any of my. Really didn't like maybe at the start. But then you got over it and realized you cannot not like a racetrack. You have to like them all. Otherwise you don't do good at the ones you don't like. So I got that out of my mind. But if I had to go same place every week, I like going Daytona.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. And I want to speak to that. I did not like Dover. And all it took was me to run a couple laps behind Dale Senior and I would go down the back straight and I bout hit him in the ass about three laps around went, oh, I'm driving in too hard, man. He taught me a lot there. And that came from. Remember Kenny Senior would qualify bad every once in a while. And we're back there starting 20th something and God, if I, if I just would have been, you know, I guess I was dumb. I just should have come to you and like, you know, and say hey. But I was too full of pride. I thought it was the wrong thing to do. But man, Denny Hamlin, eight wins at Pocono. That is a new record. Nobody has done that. And okay, let's have fun again, Kenny, because you just mentioned this, Denny sets quick time again. So not just is Denny Hamlin smooth and articulate and understands, you know, the sophistication of our sport. Now, we've done beat that like a dead horse. Denny, you know, he reads all the computerized telemetry and data, but he ties Ryan Newman. And this is very interesting. Ryan Newman had 51 polls, and his nickname was the Rocket Man. And Newman. And here Denny Hamlin is just steps right up and then he's like, yeah, I'm a smooth driver, but I got 51 poles, too. Kenny, my opinion on that is that's very impressive. You know, almost kind of like a David Pearson type, where David was smooth but yet would set quick time. Denny is well rounded. What's your thought of that?
Kenny Schrader
Well, it's. It's definitely two different mindsets. I always enjoyed qualifying a lot, and we were a lot more successful qualifying than we were winning races in the Cup Series. But yes, it says a lot when he can win these races and he's proven it, proven it, proven it. But you can still go out and say, okay, boys, who's going to make the fastest lap? Not that that pays much. Not that it's that big a deal where you start that race, but it still, it says a lot when it's like, okay, when we're all gonna go hold our breath and see who can go around here fastest. Scared out of themselves. I can do that, too. Boys.
Herman Schrader
Hey, you just made me think of something. This is the first time that Denny, you know, Denny was quick time, too, at Michigan and said, oh, I gotta start in the back. Remember, we talked all about that. This time he gets this. Keep his starting position. Made it a lot easier on him. So just a little Larry McReynolds McNugget to point out there, Denny actually starts where he qualified, which he hasn't done Dietz in ages. Well, Dietz, before we move on, just put a. Put a cap on this. This prime network. I mean, I guess we'll mention it next week, but here we go. Just something to look forward to. Prime out at the Coronado. What is it? Naval Air Force Base. Everybody's got on me. I'm not as. I'm not allowed to say Navy. It's Naval Air Force Base. Is that. Is that correct? They have tore me a new. Because I haven't said it right.
Alan Deets
Who said who tore you one?
Herman Schrader
Oh, well, you know, when I, When I say, oh, the Navy Air Force Base, and they're like, no. And they always say, hey, Kenny, this should be for you. Never correct a mistake because they will correct it for you.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
Right?
Herman Schrader
Yeah.
Alan Deets
It's Coronado Naval Air Station.
Kenny Schrader
Naval Air Station.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. And get it right, Kenny.

Well, what do you think, Dietz? This is it. Prime. One more race. Here's my question to both of you. Is the Coronado Naval Air Force Station. Are we going to be worried about naval race it puts on? Yeah, well, that's just, that's the exact terms that these just come up.
Kenny Schrader
Air Force Station. It's Naval Air Station.
Herman Schrader
Yeah, Naval Air station. Okay, thank you.
Kenny Schrader
Remember.
Herman Schrader
Yes, thank you. So, deets and then Kenny Dietz, is the competition going to matter or is it about celebrating 250 years with the backdrops of those ships and jets? And listen, I, they are telling me that this is an active base, that the people just, when you pile in, they're really going to check you. What's your thoughts?
Alan Deets
I think it's great that the, you know, a certain number of service members, they've reserved seats and I'm sure they're not charging them for that. I've never watched much ufc, but I watched UFC last night at the White House just to see it and to see how it went. And, and I thought it was unbelievable and I felt very patriotic watching it. And I think when IndyCar goes to D.C. for that race, I'll feel the same way. And I think I'll feel the same way next, next weekend. And, you know, the other thing is I feel like they'll have everything, you know, set the way that it's supposed to be. But I watched an iracing animation of a lap around there. It's a tough racetrack. I mean, there, there are some really, really tight corners. I think that'll make it interesting. And, and the sport needs to be in Southern California. There's a lot of great race fans down in Southern California. And I don't, I don't know exactly why Schrader. I mean, you, you've kind of gone through the, the ringer in Southern California in the sense that you, you didn't go to Ontario, but you were at Riverside, you were at Auto Club, and now we got this racetrack in San Diego, so we're a little bit farther away from Los Angeles. But for whatever reason, it's just, it's not worked out there. And I always thought the crowds were pretty decent at Auto Club, but I think this could work great. And, and I think NASCAR is going to want to get back, you know, down into California more permanently. But this may be a way to do it. Setting up these street courses or, you know, air. Air base courses.
Kenny Schrader
Well, I think it just. Yeah, I mean, some of the Ontario didn't last long term. And then they built Fontana, which was what, four or five miles from where they tore down Ontario, and it had huge crowds at the start. And then it didn't last. Then the property became worth way too much money to have a racetrack and have a races there a couple of times a year.
Alan Deets
And in my wrong trader, that Riverside was right there too. I mean, all of them were like right within about 10 miles each. I mean, that could have been the problem.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I've been out there jillion times. Riverside, it was close, it wasn't real far, but we just need to be in that area. This going to the base like that I think is phenomenal. What it really shows is so okay, this, this had to start how many years ago? You know, I would think if it was a shark deal, it had to start three years ago. Somebody thinking about this, that's some of the new leadership at nascar, I'd say. You know, Ben was very active in it, but just shows what they're possible, what they can pull off just like the Chicago street race did. I think it's going to be huge. I've heard, heard the guys talking about the track and some of the challenges. It has roughness. I heard probably the roughest place that they've been with the new car. I heard Brad Keselowski say. So we just got to see how many of them hold together. Which, you know, I don't know if they'll be breaking apart, but I don't think so. But still, it's going to be quite a challenge. And I definitely have TV turned on to watch it because it'd be cool.
Herman Schrader
Hey, I want to add in there, guys. I mean, this is what I'm being told by just like, I don't know who the hell they are, but just. I've heard people say it. I don't know names, but this is going to be one and done. And they're saying we're going to this Coronado Air Force base and then next year they say we're going right back to the Chicago street course. So with that being said, that's kind of my thoughts, everybody, is that we just don't go all crazy. Oh, it races. Look, if it's going to race mad, it could race bad for one year and then we're gone. Just, you know, I. I love your guys take and. And if it's rough, okay, it's gonna be rough for one race, but boy, I Think the closest we come to anything like this, just having fun is like when we go to Dover, you know, all of us, Kenny and Dietz, you know, we could be practicing, but it seems like when one of those massive. Kenny, you and I grew up around that. And Dietz, I know you did too. But I mean, it's like the garage area, the NASCAR garage area, we would all just stop at Dover because the Dover Air Force Base is right there. And those, those monstrosities of those planes, it's like, how are they even flying? But maybe Vegas, we see the jets flying around. But Kenny, you know. Yeah. So one and done here, guys.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah. And you say if it races bad, we're only one and done. But now not to be the bad guy.
Herman Schrader
We need a bad guy.
Kenny Schrader
But I've never seen an exciting race at Pocono. I've seen some good laps, but as far as a race, oh, my gosh, sit in front of the TV or sit in the grandstands there now, I'm not bad mouth in the track, but I'm just saying as far as being a real exciting race, that's not one of the ones that is anywhere near the top of the list, in my opinion.
Alan Deets
Well, I think what's helped Pocono is, is they shortened the race. I honestly think it should be a 300 or 350 instead of a 400 and it used to be 500 kind of circling back. I hope things go well at Chicago Land this year. That race is going to be on the 4th of July weekend. I've heard that the ticket sales are not great. I think it's because it's on the fourth of July weekend. But if I had to pick between, you know, Chicagoland Speedway with this next gen car in a street course race in Chicago, I think that this race, Chicagoland is going to be a heck of a good race. So I hope that there's a good race and I hope that maybe they reconsider, you know, not going back into Chicago. But I know it all comes down to dollars and cents. And for people that don't know, Chicagoland's probably, what, 30, at least 30 minutes out of downtown Chicago.
Herman Schrader
An hour. One hour.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah.
Alan Deets
Yeah.

Kenny Schrader
What about the survey?
Herman Schrader
Oh, deets. You want to. You want to do it? You know, it's going to be interesting because I just want to say this before the survey comes out, Denny just wins the race. And to. To your point and my point. Kenny, you. You and I are on the same page. When somebody's got a great car and they win the race, that's the way it should be. They should win. If they win by a straightaway, then it's. It's no different than Lewis Hamilton finally went in Ferrari there were. He won by a distance. I feel like some people are starting to recognize that instead of like we've been beat up for the last 20 years. Oh, it's not a four wide finish. What do you got, Deets?
Alan Deets
63 years, 37. No. Which I think for Poconos, probably about as high as you'll get.
Kenny Schrader
I. I'm right there with you, Deets. I'm. That makes me happy to see 63. I'll tell you what. I don't know what I'm. What I'm supposed to say when. But yesterday, now, I was on my motorcycle last 20 laps and I hear. All of a sudden I hear Christopher Bell running eighth, but he hasn't pivoted. Then everybody keeps pitting. And then Christopher Bell's leading and he's way out in front, but he hasn't pitted. And then they. Oh, he might not go to pit. I found that really exciting.
Herman Schrader
I want to. I want to ask you a question. I've always felt like a weak driver because you, you know, you've been roughed up. I know pretty much all your injuries because I'm, you know, I'm around you enough and you never complain. And I think that's that open wheel mentality, Kenny. I mean, Rusty flipped end over end and they put a carbon fiber, you know, stint, and he went to San Francisco, you know, Sears Sonoma.
Alan Deets
Yeah.
Herman Schrader
I mean, and listen, I'm not. I'm not painting you Superman, but you're as close as they come. What is the mentality? I mean, if I got a damn paper cut, I'm like, ow. But what is that mentality? Like, maybe not just about Christopher Bell, but driving hurt or driving messed up.
Kenny Schrader
Well, if there's any way you can get in the car, you want to get in the car, the last thing you want to do is see someone else in your car.
Herman Schrader
Bingo.
Kenny Schrader
That's it. Maybe he'll stay in that car. I don't know. I had one time at Daytona in July race I'd had my neck operated on. But this was back in the day when if you climb, they were Darrell Waltrip climbing a car with broken leg. NASCAR let them do it. If you want to climb in car, you could do it. It's different now, which is a good thing. But Buddy Baker stood backup for us. They bought. It was Kodiak car, Rick's. They bought him uniform and he tested the car and everything. And then when the race started, he said, hey, I can. I can leave. No, you can't. Well, he's not going to get out. And you just. You just don't get out. If there's any way you can run it, you run the race. That's what you're supposed to do.
Alan Deets
One of the most unbelievable things to me, you know, everybody brings up when Earnhardt broke his collarbone and his sternum at Talladega. You know, he goes out the next week and he gets to poll at Walker's Glenn, which was unbelievable. But the fact that he ran that entire race, to me is. Is even more unbelievable because, you know, they had Skinner in the pits and the whole idea was, was that Earnhardt was going to get out at the first caution and he ran the whole race. If I remember right, he finished in the top five or ten, I think.
Herman Schrader
Okay. There's most likely been drivers that have been in more pain than this one, but I'm going to go for the. The visible one. To me, Kenny probably already know what I'm gonna say. The driver that drove hurt the most visible was Ricky Rudd when he went to Richmond with. With band aids, holding his eyes open. That you. Were you in that. That Bud shootout or whatever when he barrel roll, it was 84. I was a crew member. And here he come flipping.
Kenny Schrader
That was pretty impressive, seeing victory lane at Richmond with his eyes taped open, but he didn't have anything broke. You know, Ricky was.
Herman Schrader
Ricky couldn't hold his eyes open.
Kenny Schrader
There's no doubt Ricky was tough. Ricky was very tough.
Herman Schrader
Okay, that's it, everybody. Kenny, thank you for
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
that.
Herman Schrader
Gave us. That gave us content that I didn't think of.
Alan Deets
And oh, one quick Thing. One quick thing, because I don't want this to go away. And we were talking about this before the show. Legacy. That team is for real here. These are not flukes.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. And here we go. Okay, Deets, give us our top 10.
Alan Deets
I'll give you the top 10 as you.
Herman Schrader
As you give us our top 10. We're going to tease the next segment. Justin allgaier in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. He wins his fifth race of the year, and there's way more to this story than him just winning. Diet. You got it.
Chase Inc. Announcer
Mm.
Alan Deets
So Danny Hamlin was the winner. Tyler Reddick finished second. William Byron was third, which they needed that because that 24 has not been running good lately. John Hunter Nemechek got off cycle on the pit stops. They. They led a bunch of laps. He ended up finishing fourth. Kyle Larson was fifth. Eric Jones, another Legacy car, he finished sixth. And the thing about that is, is they did get off to get the track position, but then they got back on that same cycle as the leaders did and stayed up there. Chris Bucher finished seventh. Ross Chesting, that's another team that needed a good run. They finished eighth. Ty Gibbs was not a. Ryan Blaney. He finished 10th, and I think he finished 10th last week at Michigan. Those Penske cars are not running well right now. And 10th was about as high as Ryan ran that whole race, so. Pretty interesting group there.
Kenny Schrader
Did I count. Did I count six teams in the top 10. Dates? He's looking. He's thinking
Alan Deets
7.
Kenny Schrader
7.
Alan Deets
Gibbs 23. Gibbs 23. 11. Hendrick Legacy, RFK Track House, Penske.
Herman Schrader
Hey, I want to give a shout out to this Legacy. Yeah. If you're on Dirty Mo Media, Schrader went, whoa.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah.
Herman Schrader
You know, in the old days.
Kenny Schrader
That's good.
Herman Schrader
In the old days. Yeah. In the old days, the boss, Bill France, Jr. He'd be taking a puff off a cigarette. He said, boy, you're stinking up my show. You better figure something out. But if you win again, you can become. Kenny Legacy. You know, like. You know, like Deets is saying, Legacy showed up. My daughter Brittany saw Jimmy Johnson years ago, come out of John Hunter Nemechek's house. Jimmy Johnson went to John Hunter's house. That's how much Jimmy believes in. In him. Is this a case where this kid's better than what he's been running? And, you know, which. That's my opinion. I. I think John Hunter's better than what he's running, and maybe they're turning it around over there.
Kenny Schrader
Well, there's different drivers that got at times more speed than the team they're with, not maybe the team they're with than their team has at that point. And sometimes they get themselves in trouble trying to go faster than you know you can, your stuff's really capable of that at that point. But they are just proving again, again you can, you know, you can luck into a luck. You can have a situation that puts you in a solid top 10 every now and then on fuel mileage or a well timed caution or something. But you can't constantly put, and be putting a couple cars into top 10 like that. And they're doing it and yeah, and
Herman Schrader
I like that because I think that's why Ricky Stenhouse has had such a long NASCAR cup career because he'll get that win every once in a while with a team that is not thought of as there yet. That's just my opinion. So yeah, Deets, you want to finish this out legacy.
Alan Deets
I think that and you guys have been there at different points in your career. I think when you're in lesser equipment, sometimes you drive harder because you think that as a driver you can get more out of it and you end up getting in wrecks and situations like that. And I think for a guy like John Hunter, once the, once the team gets to a certain level, you don't have to overdrive the car and you know, you don't have to overdrive the car. I will say this too, and I have no intel on this, but we know Josh Barry got, he's leaving the 21. I'm telling you, if I'm Ford Motor Company the way Zane Smith has been running for the last month, I'm telling them to put him in that 21 car if there's any way to do it. I, I have zero intel on it. But it's going to be interesting to see what happens with that 21. And I think it's going to be interesting to see too what might end up happening with the two if, if Cedric doesn't perform. But the, the, the thing with the Penskis right now was none of them are. So I just, I think there's a lot, I think this could be a very active, silly season.
Herman Schrader
Yep. And sometimes they get it wrong. Sometimes they'll fire the driver and go, it was us. But that's the beauty of being the owner. Okay, moving on. Justin Allgar wins his fifth O'Reilly race of the year. And that is not the story because Justin has been, I mean he, he's got such A large lead. I think it's a 416 point lead. It's big. He don't have to run for two like three races and he's still leading the points.
Kenny Schrader
I actually talked to Justin maybe last week. We were going someplace Jacksonville or Lincoln so it might have been a week and a half ago and Jacksonville stopped in mid who's your tire Midwest and guess who's in there. It was an off weekend farm and we talked quite a bit and he always was a good racer. You know he's always a good racer. When he ran the dirt cars he was good. When he won the ARCA championship with their own equipment against a couple high dollar teams, had Larry Moore helping him which was great because Larry was definitely knew everything that was going on. But Justin's always been able to get it done. He had the, had to run in the, the one cup car. I don't remember which cup car it was but it wasn't the type equipment that he needed that anybody needed. It wasn't going to get it done. He was just there and he winds up finding a home at Junior Motorsports and he just continually gets better. So yeah, I mean he's just always been a good driver and what I like the position he's in now that you know some, some of them younger guys over there, if they listen to him, he can help them.
Alan Deets
It's a lot like Danny. Yeah, you know they're, they're similar, they're similar in age and getting better and getting better and they're outsmart. They've got the equipment, they're outsmarting these guys. They're race. They know when to race and when not to race. And I think Schrader is exactly right. I think that these young guys could take a lesson from both of these guys because remember Danny Hamlin until Kyle Busch left was probably not considered the leader there at Joe Gibbs Racing. And and you could argue with Algier, there were different guys that went in that nine, you know, Tyler Reddick and Noah Gregson, they were maybe a little bit more prominent teams and stuff and you know, now he's the lead guy over there and he's showing it. And I think that sometimes, you know, when you put people in leadership positions, whether or not you intend to do it or whether or not they even know that they are, they can really go out there and excel.
Herman Schrader
It is just my opinion and Kenny Schrader and myself are huge Augar fans. Dad Mike Augar Gator is his nickname. Dorothy, mom and of course Justin, they're not 100 miles, you know, from the arch here in St. Louis up in Springfield, Illinois. So that's our disclaimer. We're big, all our fans. But my point that I'd like to make is, wow, that was a close one. Because if he doesn't get hooked up, you know, I think. I think of. I think of Bill Elliott. Herman. It's all about timing and circumstances. And here he is at 40 years old. It's kind of like Kenny Rogers, the great country western singer Kenny Rogers hits started coming out at 40 years old. Now, Justin has won a lot of races before this, but this is the year of Justin Allgaier, 40 years old and damn, I mean, this is awesome. Better late than never. Justin's that good. He could have been a cup driver, but for one reason or another, it was timing and circumstances. That is my opinion. Now, Kenny, I see you. You know, do you have to be a cup. Do you have to be a cup driver?
Kenny Schrader
No, no. There's a lot of people I like. Pretty nice to have Sundays off, you know? Yeah. I mean, yeah, you know, if you want to be a cup driver, that's great. And, you know, but Justin, you know, he's had a heck of a career. He's still having a. You know, he's in the prime right now. No telling what the future brings for him. At some point, it brings Springfield, Missouri and running the Hoosier distributorships that they have. But you don't have to be a top driver.
Herman Schrader
And. And listen, I. And Kenny, you're gonna know more than me. You probably talked to him, but you probably didn't ask him any. I don't care what he does. He's done enough. Whether it's like Dale Jr. Says. Dale Jr. It was funny. Jr. Says if he stays, it's going to make hard on me because now I got to go find him money.

Okay, I think we did it, everybody. It's time for dirt racing and jokes. Kenny did McCready. No. Turbo won.
Kenny Schrader
Yeah, I think it was Pierce Friday night and Turbo Saturday night at West Virginia.
Herman Schrader
West Virginia.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
Yeah.
Kenny Schrader
They want the big five eights that they. They cut down.
Alan Deets
How did the track turn out this time, Schrader? Because I know the last. When they first shortened it, the conditions weren't great, but they were talking that they felt like it was going to be better. This go around.
Kenny Schrader
From the highlights I saw, there was. There was some dust. But it looks like dust is a norm, a given arm anymore at dirt tracks, I mean, which is always there. But I would say more dusty than not. But they were running all over. They were running all over it, and they weren't. They weren't bouncing upside down. So I would have to say it was. It was a lot better. So we had those there. Luke Lucas was off, I think, weren't they? And world outlaws were at Knox. They got rain.
Herman Schrader
Oh, got it. Okay. Yeah. Okay. As we said at the start of the show, a lot of rain. You might not have been rained out, but there was a lot of rain. You know, I went up to Berlin and had rain on both. I got so lucky that there was rain. I mean, the day before I. There I was there. And then I left on Sunday, and it was a downpour all the way to the Detroit airport. So I got lucky up in Berlin. But, yeah, there was just rain on, you know, like on Thursdays and Sundays.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
So.
Alan Deets
Hey, my dirt track down here, Lakeview, the ponds dried up. They actually canceled the race this past weekend because it was too dry.
Kenny Schrader
So it's not really lake view.
Alan Deets
You can go. You can go view the lake, but it. It. It is not a lake there at the racetrack, I can tell you that.
Herman Schrader
Hey, Kenny. One thing you all taught me when I first started dirt racing, I got about three years into dirt racing, and I said, why does everybody complain so much? And they said, well, in dirt racing, it's too wet, too dry, too dusty, too windy. It's like you're a damn farmer. And then I did realize, oh, we are dealing with raw dirt. No, there's no grass. It's dirt. So, man, that's a. I wouldn't want to prepare dirt in a million years. That's a thankless job. We are to the end, really. What do we got? What do we got, Deets? Schrader's going to be happy with us. We haven't even been an hour Yet.
Alan Deets
No. Well, I've got two fan jokes, fans. One sent me a joke on Facebook, and the other one on. On the comments on the Kenny Wallace channel, which I've never been to the Kenny Wallace YouTube channel to look at Herman Schrader. And after the comments I've read from over the last five months, I may not go back again. But anyway, the comment section is brutal.
Herman Schrader
They got nothing good to say?
Alan Deets
No, I think. Yeah. My wife asked me. She said, how did. How does it make you feel? And I said, well, it makes me realize more people are hearing what I'm saying than what I thought they were.
Herman Schrader
Hold on. Let me. Let me say this. This is a good show. It gets big. It gets good numbers. Not great numbers. It gets solid numbers. 10,000 people. But with a good show, you're. You're gonna. You're gonna need feathers.
Alan Deets
Yeah.
Herman Schrader
Yeah. A good show is always gonna get bad comments because that means we're.
Alan Deets
We're. You're poking the bear and being honest.
Herman Schrader
And being honest. So. So when they talk bad about you, it's like. It's like they all said about Daryl Walter, hey, as long as you make it noise. So we want to thank all you fans out there, if they haven't clipped
Alan Deets
this part out, even if you don't like us.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
Yeah.
Alan Deets
Oh, I did. See, this wasn't. This wasn't a joke, but I actually remember this one. But it was. It was kind of funny. It said, kenny Wallace. Do you ever get deets confused with Steve Bird when you hear him talk?
Herman Schrader
Birdie? Oh, God, no.
Alan Deets
That was the joke. That was the joke.
Herman Schrader
Yeah.
Dirty Mo Media Announcer
Right.
Herman Schrader
Okay, well, you got. You do have an awesome voice. And when I tell people, you know, Alan Deets, dates, talks like this, you know.
Alan Deets
Yeah. Well, at least now I'm growing into my voice. Whenever I turned 13 and went through puberty and started sounding like this, it was like, you know, I was as tall as Arnold on Different Strokes, but I was. Hello. You know, now I'm growing into my old man voice. When I was 20, it was weird. All right, let's get to the jokes.
Herman Schrader
Right. Well, those were the jokes. We're done.
Alan Deets
This one is from Rocky Boyd. He says, what do you call a person who won't pass gas in public? A private tutor.
Herman Schrader
That's good.
Alan Deets
Okay. And this one is from Coyote two Balls Racing.
Herman Schrader
That's already funny.
Alan Deets
Yeah. You're riding a horse at full speed. Beside you is a giraffe running at full speed. You're both being chased by a line that wants to eat You. How do you save your life now? Think about it.
Herman Schrader
Jump on the giraffe.
Alan Deets
Here's it. Get your drunk ass off the merry go round.
Herman Schrader
That was the best one ever.
Alan Deets
Schrader's overthinking it.
Herman Schrader
No, Schrader's way smarter than us.
Kenny Schrader
No, it. I told you before, but I, I'm just still scared of horses. No, I, I, I fell off a horse. My foot got caught in the stirrup, and it kept going and just. That just hit a nerve. It just.
Alan Deets
Yeah.
Herman Schrader
Oh, in real, you mean.
Kenny Schrader
Oh, yeah, yeah. It just.
Herman Schrader
Well, hey.
Kenny Schrader
It kept going and going and going. And I'm gonna tell you what, if that lady wouldn't have come out of Walmart and unplugged it, I'd still been. I'd really been hurt bad.
Herman Schrader
This, this is Schrader at his best, everybody. I bit right into it. He had me very. He had me deeds. That was enough. Is that it?
Alan Deets
That's great. That's great. So you're, you're saying. And this is. This is, folks, getting a little bit of how the sausage is made. We need to talk to Rick Mast about next week.
Herman Schrader
Yeah, I was, I was going to take my computer and everything down to Cabo, and I thought to myself, here I go again on a complete family vacation. All 14. The only family vacation of the year. All the other ones has. Have been me running off to all the other ones, Kim and I.
Kenny Schrader
All the other ones.
Herman Schrader
So it's gonna be 14 of us going to. Going to Cabo, and I think the last thing I need to be doing is going, hey, Dad's got to do Herman Schrader. I got my computer.
Alan Deets
We'll probably get a couple of coffee with Kenny's, though, I'm assuming, right?
Herman Schrader
Oh, yeah, two, but only two horsepower. Hydration has been doing good. And I, you know, we only do it two. Two days. Tuesdays and Thursdays. That's it. But it's so effective. Everybody thinks I do them every day, so. All right, everybody. Kenny, you didn't give us detail. Do you have any idea where you're racing this weekend? He's putting his glasses on. Damn, that's a lot.
Kenny Schrader
Well, that's the 17th through the 13th. There's some place to go, everybody. We just got to decide which ones we're going to.
Herman Schrader
Why does it feel like June and July is running together this year?
Kenny Schrader
Because they're really close together. That's the way it is every year.
Herman Schrader
It just seems like everybody. It's like Fourth of July, you know? I mean, it's just like.
Kenny Schrader
It's all almost in the middle.
Herman Schrader
It feels different. Feels different for me this year. Hey, what is it called? I mean, we are. We are halfway through the year. What's that called?
Kenny Schrader
June 22nd.
Alan Deets
Summer Solstice, right?
Kenny Schrader
Yeah, June 22nd.
Herman Schrader
I think that is nuts.
Kenny Schrader
We're halfway through longest day of the year, 22nd or 23rd.
Herman Schrader
Okay, so he's not going to tell us. Yeah, he's not going to tell us exact tracks, and I totally understand that.
Kenny Schrader
Well, I don't know yet.
Herman Schrader
Don't tell. Yeah, I get it. Okay, everybody. Dietz, what are you going to do?
Alan Deets
Well, if it rains some this week, I'll be at Lakeview. If it don't rain this weekend, I'll. I am going to the lake. I'm going to Lake Marion, Santee, Cooper Lakes, and with my family. And if the race gets dried out, I'll just stay at the lake. And if it rains some this week, I'll leave the lake and go to Lakeview and then come back.
Herman Schrader
All right, everybody. Like we do every time. If you want to see Kenny Schrader's pretty face and. And see the man behind the voice, Dietz, can't believe you're not out there in Hollywood busting films.
Alan Deets
Me and you both. Well, my wife says that all the time.
Herman Schrader
Oh, my God. You would definitely be on some cartoons and things like that. If you want to see them, go to the Kenny Wallace YouTube show. If you want to listen and you're on the way out there to San Diego, go over to Dale Jr. S Dirty Mo Media podcast. Is that it, Kenny? Dietz?
Kenny Schrader
That's it.
Herman Schrader
Goodbye, everybody.
Kenny Schrader
Bye.
