Nick Jonas
It's an exciting day for the pod.
Kevin Jonas
Extremely exciting.
Joe Jonas
Joe.
Nick Jonas
We had a very interesting ride here. It was really special. We partnered up with our friends at Hyundai for Hope on Wheels, which is an amazing initiative they've had going since 1998. They've reached over $300 million to support individuals living with pediatric cancer and their families. The doctors, the researchers. A portion of every purchase of Hyundai has gone to this initiative. And, you know, I think for us as fathers, these kind of partnerships are key, you know, ways in which we can really show some love to families, to individuals going through these. These tough moments in their lives. And we actually have three incredible warriors here today. Warriors at the pod.
Joe Jonas
Where's Piper?
Nick Jonas
Piper.
Casey
Belle.
Kevin Jonas
Yes. Eliza and Eliza's here.
Joe Jonas
Hey, front row.
Kevin Jonas
Welcome. Thank you so much for joining us.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, thank you so much. We're inspiration. We're so happy. And I believe we met Belle. We met Belle before.
Lark
So my mom hosted you all at
Lumi Hudson
Saddleback Easter church service back in, like, 2009.
Lark
I was 1 years old.
Joe Jonas
You were 1 years old when we met.
Nick Jonas
What did you remember most from that experience?
Lark
It was at the Angel Stadium, and
Leamani Seguera
my mom hosted you all, and then
Lark
you guys sang Itsy Bitsy Spider to
Lumi Hudson
me, which is absolutely crazy.
Leamani Seguera
So it is a full circle moment to be here.
Joe Jonas
Wow. You know what?
Nick Jonas
I think that's the only time we've ever sung that song.
Joe Jonas
Itsy Spider. That's all we got. We have to pay for the song now to use it on the podcast? No, we. That's probably the first time we've ever performed that song.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Well, I love that.
Kevin Jonas
Well, we're honored that you're here. To everyone here, all the warriors, thank you so much for spending your day with us. And we have a very special show for you today. Camp Rock is out. We are so excited to be introducing you to the new cast, the Camp Rock 3. Oh. Oh.
Joe Jonas
Oh, no.
Nick Jonas
This is dangerous.
Joe Jonas
My soundboard is.
Nick Jonas
Soundboard is Camp Camp rockified. Let's back it all the way up. Real quick, before we get right into Camp Rock 3, let's go to where the journey began with Disney as a whole for us.
Kevin Jonas
Reconnect.
Nick Jonas
Reconnect more specifically with Camp Rock.
Joe Jonas
Right.
Nick Jonas
Okay.
Sherry Cola
So.
Nick Jonas
So to. To really paint the picture, we have to go all the way back to the year 2006. We had just moved from New York, New Jersey area to Los Angeles. And one of our big first meetings was right here in this. This town that we're in right now in Burbank at the Disney Channel building. And they would basically give us these. These scripts for fake shows that just had funny bits for us to do. And, Kevin, you actually found.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
One of our OG auditions for the Disney Channel. And for whatever reason, because the audition was not very good.
Kevin Jonas
Nope.
Nick Jonas
They saw enough promise in us that they kind of kept us in mind for different projects. And I remember specifically we were on tour in 07, early 2007. We called it the Marvelous Party Tour, which is really great.
Casey
Great name.
Nick Jonas
And we were playing at Six Flags across the country, and our father said, hey, Disney has this project that they're putting together. They hope it'll become like the next High School Musical, and they'd like Joe to audition. And so with this camera, it's called a flip vid.
Joe Jonas
Well, they also asked. They said the audition is one song of your choosing and a dance as well. Didn't say exactly what kind of dance.
Kevin Jonas
We really need to find this clip, though.
Nick Jonas
We gotta find it. Basically, the audition was shot so poorly, and we thought we crushed it.
Kevin Jonas
We used the lamp in the hotel room, but turned it like this to hold it like this so that the hole was like a spotlight. That's as good as we got.
Nick Jonas
And to be honest, I was panicked that basically Joe was gonna go do this movie, become a big star on his own, and then the band would be over. But our dad had a different idea. Basically. He called and said, exactly. If you want Joe to be in this movie, then you gotta include Nick and Kevin in some way. And so they literally wrote in our two characters, Nate and Shane, there happened
Joe Jonas
to be other chains.
Nick Jonas
What's your character's name?
Kevin Jonas
Jason.
Nick Jonas
Jason. We still don't know to this day if we're brothers in the movie or not.
Kevin Jonas
In Can't Prom.
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Nobody knows.
Kevin Jonas
In two, they say.
Nick Jonas
No, the credits at the end of the first one, it just says Nate and Jason.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
No last name.
Kevin Jonas
No last name.
Nick Jonas
So we don't know. To this day, I think we can assume that we're related in the. In the film.
Joe Jonas
I think cousins.
Nick Jonas
Have you ever watched the first one, the Camp Rock?
Joe Jonas
Yeah. Have I watched it? No, that's. Should I.
Nick Jonas
You've watched it?
Joe Jonas
Of course. We watched it at the premiere. I think I love watching my own work. We watched the premiere. I remember. I. Yeah, it's. It's interesting that they watch the dance part knowing that I'm not the greatest dancer. And they were like, we're still gonna hire you and you're still gonna do a dance number.
Kevin Jonas
They believed in you. They saw something.
Nick Jonas
Start the party.
Kevin Jonas
Somebody finally saw something.
Joe Jonas
Yes. Start out the party.
Nick Jonas
Well, Anyway, cut to 18 years later. And here we are, the release of Camp Rock 3, which we. We produced alongside our friends over at Disney and really got to do the thing that was most exciting for me on this project, which was putting together a group of absolutely, you know, just incredibly talented young people to take the incredible. The torch and kind of usher in a new generation of Camp Rockers. And this cast is just amazing. And it's stacked. It's been incredible already just to see all of their profiles and everything just exploding as the promotion for the movie's begun. And it's just gonna be, you know, even more massive once people have seen the movie on Disney, which you can watch right here. Click over from this platform or, you know, now we're on Hulu as well, guys.
Joe Jonas
Yes, you can, like watching us and listening to us.
Casey
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
But we have some of the cast here today from the film, and they're gonna. They're gonna share some of their. Their Camp Rock stories. We're gonna get all the info. It's gonna be a lot.
Joe Jonas
All the tea. Oh, we're ask the hard hitting questions.
Nick Jonas
The hard hitting questions.
Joe Jonas
That's what we're known for here, is it? Yeah, that's.
Kevin Jonas
What kind of question should you ask? Like, to start?
Joe Jonas
I have a list. Kev, I don't know if you got this too.
Kevin Jonas
I did.
Joe Jonas
Oh, yeah. Well, should we bring them in?
Kevin Jonas
I think we should.
Leamani Seguera
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
Our first guest play, Sage and. And Fletch in the film Camp Rock 3, played by Malachi Barton, Leman Seguera. Here's a clip of them in the film now. And then we're gonna bring them on out.
Leamani Seguera
Some days I move back, I'm confident and insecure, even at my best.
Malachi Barton
Not bad.
Leamani Seguera
I'm still struggling with the lyrics.
Malachi Barton
You just gotta have fun with it.
Leamani Seguera
You make it sound so easy. All right, just so you know, all of this isn't gonna distract me, all right? I'm in it to win It.
Malachi Barton
So am I.
Kevin Jonas
Congratulations, guys. So you guys are no strangers to premiere, so tonight's not a big deal for you.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah.
Leamani Seguera
It'll be fun.
Malachi Barton
Yeah. It's gonna be so sick. Obviously, it's not strangers, but also, like, still, I'm just excited.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
It's been a crazy month already of promo.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
Between Camp Rock stuff getting going, but also Descendants most recently.
Kevin Jonas
My girls absolutely loved it.
Joe Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
Disney franchises. How does. How does that feel? Loyalty already?
Leamani Seguera
It feels so. Honestly, so crazy. I, like, have to pinch myself every day, like, God is so good. And I think it just feels so unreal, you know, it feels very special to be a part of all these franchises, though, because, you know, I'm going to be a part of all these. This new generation's childhood, and that means so much to me. So I know how much, you know, the movies meant to me growing up. And so now that I'm gonna be part of it, it feels so wild.
Lark
I love it.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels Announcer
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
I mean, it is crazy for us, as we mentioned on set, to be, you know, looking at all of you and seeing how tremendously talented you are, but. But really carrying the torch and introducing a whole new generation to something that, you know, we loved being a part of.
Leamani Seguera
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
And that we look back at now with such nostalgia and gratitude. Malachi, for you, I mean, stepping into. To this role after having already been in so many beloved films with Disney and taking this on, was there any pressure about the Camp Rock franchise? Were you aware of it even before you signed on to do it?
Malachi Barton
Oh, 100% I was aware. I think that I've said this before. I think that the Camp Rock franchise is something that's just automatically embedded into your childhood, no matter what. Ooh, I love that. And we'll take it. It's great. It's so great.
Joe Jonas
You told him to say that?
Malachi Barton
Yeah, he did. He paid me right back to date before I came on. Exactly.
Joe Jonas
Say this, please.
Malachi Barton
But, I mean, I think that I. For a second, I was like, oh, is there gonna be pressure? But honestly, I just wanna say thank you to you guys for making it feel like there was no pressure. Because it was like you guys could have so easily been like, this is our baby. And this is like, we've created this and this has been our thing and have to do what you guys have to do. But you guys gave us the space to create and make it our own in a way. And so I just wanna say thank you to that and make it made it feel like there was no pressure. But obviously, there's the, like, oh, shoot, we're making Camp Rock again. A little bit of pressure.
Leamani Seguera
There was pressure.
Kevin Jonas
Well, hearing Malachi with Tomorrow and Leamani with One Beat Away for the first time, I was. We were getting, you know, going through the production process and hearing your versions of it, and I was just like, okay, this is gonna work.
Joe Jonas
Yes. So good.
Casey
It's so good.
Joe Jonas
Have you guys seen the film yet?
Malachi Barton
We have seen it once.
Joe Jonas
Nice. Oh, you've seen it once.
Malachi Barton
It was so good. Have you guys seen the film?
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, we have. We did an early premiere at my house with my girls. So we did a full slee. Sleepover for. Full Huge, like, blowout sleepover for the. For the Descendants film.
Leamani Seguera
Oh, my God.
Kevin Jonas
Decorations. The whole thing.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
Our daughter watched it too, actually, most recently on vacation. It's kind of one of her first liveaction movies, and she.
Joe Jonas
She just loved it.
Malachi Barton
No way.
Joe Jonas
Descendants or Camp Rock.
Nick Jonas
Camp Rock.
Joe Jonas
Camp Rock.
Malachi Barton
Yes.
Nick Jonas
And what's been so fun to see, too, is all the reaction online before the movie came out. You know, now it's out, it's on Disney plus, which you can watch here, but people flipping out about the new songs, but also some of the songs that were a part of the original film. Play My music being one of those. And for us, we rock, which was incredibly hard to sing as a now grown man, as opposed to, oh, whoa.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, this just happens as Jesus kept rocking. It just happens, guys.
Nick Jonas
But some of those reactions are so great to see parents watching with their kids.
Sherry Cola
Right.
Leamani Seguera
So full circle.
Nick Jonas
It's full circle. Have your parents watched the movie?
Malachi Barton
Oh, 100.
Leamani Seguera
Of course. We're, like, such big fans. Like, literally, it was played all the time when I was growing up. Like, every time I would come home from school, turn on Disney Channel, and that would be the movie that would turn on. And we're fans. We're big fans.
Joe Jonas
Love it.
Leamani Seguera
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
And, Malachi, your mom auditioned for American Idol, Is that correct?
Malachi Barton
Yeah, my mom. So my mom was on American Idol for. I forget, was it, like, top up until top 10? She's right there. Okay. Okay, okay. She's okay.
Kevin Jonas
Do we make it to Hollywood? Okay,
Malachi Barton
now she works on American Idol. She's only.
Joe Jonas
But you work in America now. Oh, cool. I love it.
Kevin Jonas
That's great.
Malachi Barton
That was my little, like, that's my little connection to the. The singing world. She's like the goat. She's so chill. I love my mom.
Joe Jonas
Was there ever, like, American Idol dreams for yourself. Were you, like, thinking, maybe I'll do this?
Malachi Barton
Acting was Always kind of like, maybe. But I was also like, that's my mom sing. That's my mom's thing. She's the singer and she has a great voice. So it's like, I'm just gonna let her do her thing. And then I went into the acting world and then the musical stuff started happening. I was like, oh, shoot.
Kevin Jonas
Does that mean that there's more independent music coming from you guys?
Leamani Seguera
I mean, yeah, you can always definitely expect. I'm actually working on my album, my first album right now.
Joe Jonas
Let's go. So excited.
Leamani Seguera
Crazy. Crazy.
Malachi Barton
Yeah. I mean, I've always been like, acting first, but I also think I just like, I trust God's plan. Like, that's all I can do. And like, I think there's something so special about giving everything to God and just trusting him with everything. So, like, what happens, happens. You know what I mean?
Kevin Jonas
Cool. That's awesome.
Malachi Barton
That's.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah.
Casey (full name not given)
Love it.
Joe Jonas
Well, we'll be excited for music from you then. Both of you.
Leamani Seguera
Thanks.
Lumi Hudson
Exciting.
Kevin Jonas
One thing you guys definitely can do better than we can though, is dance.
Malachi Barton
Oh, okay.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, it's very impressive. And the film.
Leamani Seguera
That's so sweet. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. The choreo for this movie for Game Park 3.
Casey
Dude, intense.
Malachi Barton
Jamal was putting it going, like, putting in extra hours.
Kevin Jonas
How was rehearsal process? Because ours was non existent.
Malachi Barton
Our rehearsal processes were very different. I mean, mine, I was on tour. I was doing the world stuff.
Kevin Jonas
That was another big tour that was happening last year.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
I may have gone and seen you.
Malachi Barton
May have gone.
Joe Jonas
I may have seen you back at home. That if they didn't, they don't know what you guys are talking about. What's the tour that you're talking about?
Malachi Barton
Yeah, so I did. We're doing another tour together this coming summer and it's the Worlds Collide tour. It's Descendants, Zombies in Camp Rock. That's this year. And then last year we did Descendants and Zombies. But yeah, it was.
Joe Jonas
It was.
Malachi Barton
It was wild.
Joe Jonas
Is it like Zombies attack the camp and then like, basically. Honestly, that like Medieval Times a little bit.
Malachi Barton
Oh, 100%.
Joe Jonas
Are you kidding me?
Malachi Barton
We're just all battling on stage.
Nick Jonas
We do need a Avengers style, I think Camp Rock descendant zombie movie.
Malachi Barton
I think that would be sick. Cross all like, the world.
Nick Jonas
But there's just one problem, is that when you're in multiple franchises, we have to figure out a way to.
Joe Jonas
It's the multiverse. You know, what if it was like
Malachi Barton
a screenplay and it was like worlds Collide and we had to do Quick changes into different characters. That would be. There we go.
Joe Jonas
This is expensive.
Malachi Barton
I know. Look at that. Do you just have, like, the time of your life with that thing right there?
Joe Jonas
I see.
Malachi Barton
I just feel like.
Joe Jonas
I just see you, like, carry this. I wish it worked like this in real life. It just happens in the wings. There's quite a few. There's a new guy.
Malachi Barton
What does it have?
Lumi Hudson
She's really good.
Malachi Barton
Oh, I like that. What's your favorite one?
Joe Jonas
Demi. It changes all the time. My favorite one is.
Leamani Seguera
That one's good.
Joe Jonas
That's when we're. That's usually when there's an argument between these two, and they're like, I'm Shane
Nick Jonas
Gray, for crying out loud.
Malachi Barton
I like that a lot. I like that a lot.
Joe Jonas
Some drama. Classic drama.
Casey
Big throwback.
Nick Jonas
We got off track for a second. So you were rehearsing while you were on tour?
Malachi Barton
Yeah, yeah.
Nick Jonas
Playing double duty.
Malachi Barton
Yeah. They had hired one of the dancers that were on tour, and Jamal was sending all the choreos. I was. Because I was obviously on tour during pre production. I wasn't able to make it out until we literally started filming. So then I was, like, learning.
Kevin Jonas
We ran into each other, and I looked at him backstage. We came. He was. They were so kind. The entire cast on this, the live show met, met our daughters and took some photos. And I've never seen my girls blush the way they blushed when I met you and watched you on this movie. I'm not comfortable with it, but it was a great moment. You made them feel so special. But you kind of looked at me and was like, so. And I was like, obviously, I knew that you had been cast in camera, but none of the other cast members of the tour had seen.
Malachi Barton
You're just, like, looking at each other, communicating.
Nick Jonas
You're like, I know something.
Kevin Jonas
You know something. You hung back, and we got to
Joe Jonas
talk about it a little after, but.
Kevin Jonas
But it was a good, like, oh, yeah, we know the secrets.
Joe Jonas
It's a fun question then. I mean, I guess. Where were you guys when you got the call? You're like, hey, you're gonna. You made it.
Kevin Jonas
You're gonna.
Joe Jonas
Or they the offered or the audition. I'm not sure how the process went for you guys.
Leamani Seguera
I was actually. I was in the car with my mom. We were in the mountains. I had, like, no service. And I get the call from my manager, and she sounds, like, super bummed. She's like, hey, like, Disney wants to let you know they're really proud of you and they're happy you Came in and you got the role. And I remember, like screaming out, fake out, burst into tears, fangirling all the things at once. But yeah, that's.
Malachi Barton
I was. I was in. I was in the middle of intermission.
Joe Jonas
I was literally in the middle of intermission.
Malachi Barton
Yeah, my mom pulled me aside.
Joe Jonas
Intermission.
Malachi Barton
I was like, yo, you're never going to believe this.
Joe Jonas
You're going to Hollywood.
Malachi Barton
No, literally, exactly.
Joe Jonas
You're going to Canada.
Malachi Barton
I know. I was going to Canada.
Joe Jonas
Well, before you go, we. We on our. On our show. Hey, Jonas. We always have this bowl of questions that we don't know what they are. If you guys are willing to participate,
Malachi Barton
I would love to participate. I think that'd be so much more.
Nick Jonas
They're camp themed.
Kevin Jonas
Whatever that.
Joe Jonas
Camp themed. Would you guys like, pull?
Malachi Barton
I would love to answer. Oh, gosh. And I'll. Sure.
Casey
Here.
Joe Jonas
I'll pass there.
Sherry Cola
Boom.
Malachi Barton
Oh, it's an eight ball.
Kevin Jonas
I love that.
Joe Jonas
So, like, so sick. Leone, do you want to go first?
Malachi Barton
Do it.
Leamani Seguera
I'll go first. What do you got in Camp Rock? Shane Gray works at the camp as an instructor. Which famous musician or artist would you hire to work at your camp?
Joe Jonas
That's a good old shoe.
Leamani Seguera
Wait, that's crazy.
Malachi Barton
Malachi Barton. I'm just kidding.
Joe Jonas
That's kind of.
Leamani Seguera
That's a good. That's a good one. This is really good.
Malachi Barton
She's really good Button.
Joe Jonas
She's really, I don't know, I think
Nick Jonas
really good to help you.
Leamani Seguera
Probably like Ariana Grande or something like a famous, like, pop star or something.
Kevin Jonas
She's very good at music.
Leamani Seguera
She could teach us all their tips and tricks.
Malachi Barton
She's like, working. You just hear whistle notes. Whistle tones, literally.
Leamani Seguera
That would be fair.
Kevin Jonas
All right, great, Malachi.
Malachi Barton
Let's do it. Oh, you're in charge of wake up music every morning. What's your pick?
Leamani Seguera
That's a good one.
Malachi Barton
I feel like they're hearing, like, what are they hear? Like, dude, this is like niche pick. But I'm gonna say, like, I'm gonna say like, could you imagine, like just hearing Gyra by Maverick City Music just like playing or like Firm foundation or something like that.
Nick Jonas
That'd be lit solid.
Malachi Barton
I feel like that'd just be like super dope.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, it's great picks.
Malachi Barton
Tennessee Whiskey or Broken Halos or something like that. Basically, I'm just gonna set my playlist and we can open the camp up with that.
Lark
All right.
Kevin Jonas
Play your whole playlist.
Joe Jonas
Actually.
Casey
Play the whole playlist.
Kevin Jonas
I like it.
Malachi Barton
There we go. We'll share them later.
Joe Jonas
Well, thank you guys so much for hanging out with us. Thank you, everybody.
Kevin Jonas
Amazing. You know, I recently learned that every 36 minutes, another child in the US is diagnosed with cancer. Think about that for a second. Some of the bravest warriors you will ever meet aren't professional athletes or superheroes. They're kids in this fight.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels Announcer
And every day, these young warriors face challenges most adults couldn't imagine. Yet they continue to show up with
Nick Jonas
incredible courage, determination, and hope.
Hyundai Hope On Wheels Announcer
That's why we're proud to support Hyundai Hope on wheels. The past 28 years, with support from Hyundai, their dealers, and every new Hyundai sold, Hope on Wheels has contributed over $300 million to childhood cancer research, helping save more than 40,000 kids.
Kevin Jonas
But we're not done yet. We need your help together. Let's bring every warrior home.

Nick Jonas
Malachi and Lemani. Awesome.
Kevin Jonas
So good.
Nick Jonas
Superstars, superstars. Just incredible.
Kevin Jonas
They just got it.
Nick Jonas
They're star rising.
Kevin Jonas
It's gonna be just now.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. They're gonna be in many, many movies to come. I'm excited to hear their music, too. And whatever music the Malachi said he wasn't, but going to not he's going to release.
Nick Jonas
You know, it was very mysterious.
Joe Jonas
It's because I'm working on a project with him right now.
Nick Jonas
Oh, gotcha. You signed him separately?
Joe Jonas
I signed him, yeah. Oh, he doesn't know yet.
Kevin Jonas
He doesn't know yet or he doesn't know yet?
Joe Jonas
Or is it agents and managers?
Kevin Jonas
Speaking of agents and managers.
Joe Jonas
Speaking of agents and managers, Great segue. Kevin's agent and manager is next, actually, the Connect 3 manager.
Kevin Jonas
That's right. New character. Character unlocked and classic character continued.
Nick Jonas
Maria was in the first two Camp Rocks. She, of course, is Mitchie's mother, but also now the owner and operator of Camp Rock. And we find her in Camp Rock 3.
Joe Jonas
I love it. I love it. There's a lot of mysterious mystery about her.
Nick Jonas
I want to know all the lore behind, like, the.
Kevin Jonas
How did she get the camp.
Joe Jonas
I think she has a backstory. Let's talk to her about it. Please. Ladies and gentlemen, please make some noise for Sherry Cola and Maria, my family
Lark
and friends, the group chat.
Joe Jonas
Hello. Here we are for our first chat.
Lark
Like quicksand over there.
Sherry Cola
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
You see Trapdoor, you need a pillow
Nick Jonas
in the back there.
Joe Jonas
For our first live audience, we wanted it only family and friends.
Lark
Yes, exactly.
Nick Jonas
Really warm audiences.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Lark
You all know too much. Okay, lock the doors.
Kevin Jonas
We will Be interviewing.
Joe Jonas
Well, thank you for being on the pod. This is very exciting to have you both a part of this. And obviously this is. You're no stranger to Camp Rock.
Sherry Cola
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
So it feels great to have you back. I think we should show a clip of Maria in Camp Rock 3 now.
Kevin Jonas
Welcome to Camp Rock.
Sherry Cola
Let me ask you something. Who's ready for the best summer ever?
Nick Jonas
Woo hoo.
Sherry Cola
I'm Connie Torres, camp director. And, yes, Mitchie's mom. This camp changed Mitchie's life. And now I run it, which means I get a chance to watch it. Change yours. Couple quick rules. Most important, no phones. I know, I know. But Camp Rock is better face to face than screen to screen. Trust me. You know, when I look out at all of you, all I can think about is all the talent that has come through Camp Rock. Legends are made here. And I know that this summer will be no different. That was so fun.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, it was incredible.
Joe Jonas
We also have a clip of our
Kevin Jonas
good friend Cherry Cola as well.
Lark
Oh, yeah.
Kevin Jonas
So we should play that now.
Lark
Yes, play it, Little Miss Lark.
Joe Jonas
It looks a lot nicer than they have four engineers. Hold on, Lark.
Lark
Oh, hey, guys. Sorry, I can't really talk right now. You have me producing Final Jam, which is like a billion tiny shows in one on a summer camp's budget.
Nick Jonas
So we're pretty familiar with what the Final Jam is.
Lark
Well, get ready for my final jam.
Kevin Jonas
Lark, you let your hair down. Literally.
Lark
How nice of you to notice, Jason. I have bug bites on my bug bites and a lot to discuss with my therapist. You'll be getting the invoice.
Nick Jonas
Oh, come on. You're gonna miss this place. You know you are.
Lark
I guess the songs are kind of catchy. You know what? I don't have time for this. I'm busy. I'll see you later. Don't be late.
Joe Jonas
I saw that smile. You think we pay her enough?
Kevin Jonas
Probably not. How many bug bites?
Lark
What an art.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Lark
Clark has never been more vulnerable.
Kevin Jonas
Mosquito bites on your mosquito bites. It just looks so much like newer than Camp Rock 1.
Nick Jonas
It just looks so much.
Joe Jonas
The first two were shot on a potato, I think.
Lark
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Joe Jonas
And it's just funny to see Now Camp Rock 3, we were just saying while we were watching the first clip, taking away their cell phones. It was never really a problem in Camp Rock one or two. No.
Casey
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
It's like camp is more important than ever now because that's where you make real connections. And it's. It's just a different time, a different world.
Kevin Jonas
So it really is.
Sherry Cola
I love that that was in there, that we addressed that. The importance of really relating and. And then they're disappointed and then they're so happy. And at the end, because they had real connection with real living people.
Lark
Yeah. Making memories, you know.
Kevin Jonas
Do we actually take their phones away for the entire production though?
Joe Jonas
We did.
Lark
Still. Malachi's phone, by the way.
Kevin Jonas
We haven't given it back yet this weekend.
Joe Jonas
I guess for you, Maria, like stepping back into a familiar role, a new role.
Nick Jonas
Because I think just before you got
Joe Jonas
out, we were trying to kind of understand you became the person that runs Campground.
Sherry Cola
That's right. Camp director. I love that. I love that they gave me that arc that I started as a self sacrificing mom who wanted to make her daughter's dreams come true and was willing to work in the kitchen for a discounted rate. You're going to Camp Rock the famous line and. And then I come back and we're still working. And then even though Michie is now a big superstar like Demi, she still cares about the place where dreams came true. It's not just about her kids. She wants to be there for other kids. That's so beautiful. And I love, as a real mom, I love to see other moms that love on all kids, not just their own. I always would notice that when a mom would love, support, encourage my child, it's just a beautiful thing. So I love that about Connie. I love being Connie. I love seeing you guys again. That was so.
Kevin Jonas
It was so surreal seeing you up there on day one. Like when we showed up and you were standing on the final. Final Jam stage at on the Lake, it was just like, okay.
Joe Jonas
I was kind of emotional.
Nick Jonas
I remember, like, it was weird.
Joe Jonas
Even though it was a different location. I mean, technically we shot the first one somewhere else, but it was like this wave of, you know, after reading the script and being a part of the production, thinking of all the things we're going to do and meeting the cast. And then once we saw you up there, I was like, oh, man. That it was all brought back to us. It was really great.
Sherry Cola
And obviously that's so awesome.
Joe Jonas
Sherry, having you part of this has been a blast.
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
And you know, every dysfunctional band needs a manager.
Lark
Listen, Lark is hanging on by a thread. You know what I'm saying? She's two phones, two coffees. Am I even acting? But it was such a delight, honestly, just playing with all of you, especially that first day. Because right now, people are craving that nostalgia. They want to feel good and then they want to go back to, like, a really just joyous time. And I feel like this movie is really going to deliver, and it's so cinematic. It's elevated. Veronica Rodriguez, shout out to our director
Nick Jonas
who you've been longtime friends with.
Lark
Yes, yes. We met at Funny or die in 2017.
Joe Jonas
Okay.
Kevin Jonas
So that's how we actually got. You Got it, got it, got it.
Lark
No, but honestly, we've just been like creative soul sisters on this journey, so to be able to come alive through Camp Rock 3 is a dream come true.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. I knew we were in good hands.
Lark
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
And when I saw you guys, the same thing happened to me where I got a little like, because you're all daddies now, too. You're dads. I'm like, wait, these guys were teenagers, and I noticed that we all have girls. Yeah, I was gonna say you're all girl dads.
Nick Jonas
So far, during the second movie, I think your daughters were tiny. I mean, they were my daughter's age now, I think.
Kevin Jonas
Yes.
Nick Jonas
Which is wild.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. That was so. And I remember how sweet you guys were to my little girls who are now. Bridge is 23 and Madeline's gonna be 21.
Kevin Jonas
Crazy.
Sherry Cola
And it's just wild. You guys were so swee. Them. Not just their teen fans, but even your little fans. You. You encouraged her and what, to sing? Because she's a singer. And I remember Bridget interrupted an interview you did, and you were so sweet to her. You weren't like, who's this kid? In my way, he wasn't like that at all.
Joe Jonas
I was rude. I was in character.
Sherry Cola
No, you weren't. You were darling.
Kevin Jonas
Great.
Joe Jonas
For crying out loud.
Nick Jonas
It was part of my act.
Joe Jonas
Well, it's been so fun, obviously, to be. To watch even this young, new Jen. And I'm curious, like, for you, Maria, like, being on set, did you find yourself seeing any similarities to the original cast?
Sherry Cola
Oh, yeah.
Joe Jonas
You were like, oh, I see it. I see talent.
Sherry Cola
Totally. I mean, if Disney knows something, it's how to find young talent. And it was amazing. Amazing. Yes. Of course. I see Demi and Leamani, and I saw. I think they actually had even more characters, have their own little storyline.
Kevin Jonas
Definitely.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. Thanks to Edie's script, which is terrific. And I love that because there's a little bit of something in every character that I think a lot of young people will identify with. You know, those struggles that are so important to us during that developmental stage. And, you know, everything matters so much. My crush, my career.
Joe Jonas
Right.
Sherry Cola
You know, and I.
Lark
You've been Reading my diary. Yeah. The dynamics now with the friends, friendships and the chemistry. Everyone is like, we love each other. Honestly.
Sherry Cola
Did you guys know when you did it, how much it was going to be loved? Did you get a sense at all that your big movie break was going to be such a hit?
Joe Jonas
I mean, we knew.
Kevin Jonas
We had no idea.
Joe Jonas
I mean, we. Obviously, we were. We were touring at the time. I mean, when Campground was being made, kind of took a break from touring for the first time in a couple years. And there wasn't as much social media when we first started with Camp Rock 1.
Sherry Cola
That's great.
Kevin Jonas
MySpace.
Joe Jonas
So it was just kind of bubbling in the States because Disney started playing our music videos and Disney Channel. And so by the time the movie came out, the reception was just wild. And it was an interesting, like, high school class because that was Zach and Vanessa and the High School Musical cast. Zack and Cody was a popular show at the time. Trying to think there's.
Nick Jonas
And it's just.
Joe Jonas
There's so many great, kind of amazing vocalists and dancers and singers. It's really wild. So to answer your question, we had no idea.
Sherry Cola
No. Do you think that's why you guys were so good, because you were so relaxed and having fun?
Nick Jonas
I think we just didn't know what we were doing.
Kevin Jonas
We didn't know any other way.
Joe Jonas
Still don't.
Sherry Cola
That's the best.
Nick Jonas
You know, the moment we kind of realized that Disney really understands how to.
Casey (full name not given)
How to.
Nick Jonas
To do a global event was after the second movie came out. We were. We were touring in parts of the world where English wasn't the first language.
Sherry Cola
Right.
Nick Jonas
And they would know a majority of our songs as the Jonas Brothers. But when we would go into the Camp Rock songs, they would know every single word because they've been, you know, learning English in a lot of ways because of so cool or, you know, just consuming it into different ways. And that was a really powerful thing for us.
Lark
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
That's how far the reach is.
Casey
Yeah.
Lark
Camp Rock is a universal language. Seriously. Like, you can feel the impact. And even, you know, going to your concert in Vancouver.
Leamani Seguera
Oh.
Lark
See how much it means to the fans. And to see you three, like, operate with so much gratitude and, you know, it really was touching. Touching to witness.
Nick Jonas
That was a fun show. It was a great show.
Sherry Cola
It was a fun.
Nick Jonas
For those that don't know listening or watching the pod. We were shooting in Vancouver, Camp Rock 3. And it just so happened that we also had a concert around that same time in Vancouver.
Lark
So multitasking over here, the whole Cast
Kevin Jonas
came, we made schedule it appropriately.
Lark
You squeezed it in.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Nick Jonas
And that night we had MGK out as great. Who's become just a great friend of ours. Had you been to a show before that?
Sherry Cola
I have.
Lark
Yours?
Sherry Cola
I've been to a Joker.
Kevin Jonas
You have?
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Lark
I have not. Yes, and I highly recommend it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick Jonas
That's great to make.
Lark
First timer.
Joe Jonas
So, so, so.
Lark
Certainly not the last, but yeah. It was just so cool to see how highly anticipated this film is because you all, like, did a little shout out when you're on stage and everyone shout out wild. And I even remember the first day when we were filming that. That scene of Connie on the stage. There were fans, like, a hundred yards away that found out where we were filming.
Sherry Cola
Oh, yeah.
Lark
And I had no idea. But there were these videos of us, like, zoomed in, like, super pixelated. Everyone thought I was Demi.
Joe Jonas
Yes.
Malachi Barton
Everyone.
Lark
My friends were sending me videos. And, like, people were like, it's Demi and Jonas Brothers because I had the Snatch Pony.
Sherry Cola
And then you said yes.
Lark
And you wrote, what an honor.
Nick Jonas
You wrote them letters.
Lark
And then I signed autographs. No, but it was just so surreal, you know? You see how major this is.
Joe Jonas
The love.
Sherry Cola
The love.
Kevin Jonas
That was really fun to see after the fact that we were on set. Like, they had all those. Those cabins just in that area, and people were just walking through the set as if it was, like, real life camp.
Leamani Seguera
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
I don't know if you saw it online. It was so cool to see.
Lark
It's like paparazzi on a canoe.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
They're just, like, hanging out. Sherry, you.
Nick Jonas
In the clip we showed, you mentioned the song is really catchy.
Kevin Jonas
Yes.
Nick Jonas
And obviously you're in character, but do you have a favorite song from Camp Rock 3?
Lark
From Camp Rock 3, honey. You know what? Lark got to be a part of a lot without spoiling too much, just with the challenges, you know? So Play My music was stuck in my head, which is one of my favorite things.
Joe Jonas
My favorite things to see right now is that people are. Some of the songs are being released in real time. And Play My music, which is the audition scene.
Lark
Yes.
Joe Jonas
Out of context, you don't know what's happening.
Lark
Right.
Joe Jonas
It's very confusing.
Casey (full name not given)
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
And it's kind of like we. I love it because we're kind of trolling every. The audience.
Kevin Jonas
A little bit of rage bait.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. It's rage bait. But it's fun to watch the people.
Lark
This is a prank. Yeah, it's a prank.
Kevin Jonas
It's a prank.
Casey
Well, it's a Prank song.
Joe Jonas
I'm sorry, you're saying. So play my music.
Lark
I mean. Yeah. And also high key. Changing Kevin Jonas.
Kevin Jonas
Hey, can I just say on the show. Thank you.
Lark
It's brilliant. It's brilliant.
Joe Jonas
Thanks.
Lark
Emotional.
Casey
Okay.
Lark
Therapeutic.
Joe Jonas
It is. I. I love those things.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah. Thank you very much.
Lark
Just real quick as a little side. Side dish.
Kevin Jonas
I appreciate that.
Joe Jonas
Facts. Well, on the pod, we always have our guests participate in a fun little game that we have here. We have a bowl in front of us. There's bold questions, if you're willing to partake. They're all camping. We don't know what they say.
Kevin Jonas
We haven't written them.
Joe Jonas
So if you don't like it, then it's not on us.
Leamani Seguera
Okay.
Joe Jonas
Most important to grab on.
Lark
All right. Stay vigilant. That's a quote from the movie. That should be merch. Is my family here? Yeah, they are. My mom's in the audience now with my girlfriend and my family visiting from Shanghai.
Joe Jonas
Hello. Hi. Hi. Welcome.
Lark
We roll deep around here.
Joe Jonas
Okay.
Kevin Jonas
What do you got?
Lark
Right, Maria, you go first.
Sherry Cola
Which camp rock song are you singing first at karaoke? Well, it used to be too cool for you.
Joe Jonas
Oh, that's a great one.
Leamani Seguera
Deep cut.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, that's the fun shoulder. Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
Shoulder moves.
Sherry Cola
So now it has to be Leamani's current hit.
Joe Jonas
Oh, what a song.
Sherry Cola
Because I can't get that out of my head.
Joe Jonas
It's so good.
Nick Jonas
All over my.
Lark
They're just these superstars, you know, And I'm ready to rock it working with them. Like, aren't you so inspired? Like, the future is bright.
Sherry Cola
Totally.
Lark
You know?
Sherry Cola
Totally. And they're. They're good kids.
Lark
So good. Most important, gooder than me, that's for sure.
Sherry Cola
Much better grammar.
Lark
Yeah. If someone handed you the ox cord on a bus ride to camp, what's the first song you're playing? Playing Camp Rock. Related or.
Kevin Jonas
No, no, it could be anything.
Malachi Barton
Let's go.
Lark
Michelle Branch and Carlo Santana. Game of Love.
Kevin Jonas
Love that.
Lark
She's on tour right now. Shout out to Michelle Branch.
Nick Jonas
Michelle Branch.
Lark
I love her.
Nick Jonas
You got to have her on the pod.
Lark
Even though I was born in 2008.
Nick Jonas
Right.
Lark
My. My mom listens to Michelle Branch.
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
Correct.
Lark
Yeah. Yeah. Hey, mom sticks to the script.
Joe Jonas
2008.
Nick Jonas
Well, thank you for being on.
Joe Jonas
Thank you so much. Make some noise.
Lark
Congratulations, y'.
Leamani Seguera
All.
Lark
Camp R3.
Sherry Cola
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Joe Jonas
Consume the movie.
Nick Jonas
Okay.
Kevin Jonas
Okay. There are more cats.
Joe Jonas
We have.
Nick Jonas
There's still more cast guests on the. This is the most guests we've ever had on the pod.
Joe Jonas
I know.
Nick Jonas
I will say when. When we were wearing the producer hat.
Kevin Jonas
I like that.
Nick Jonas
While putting this film together alongside our partner, Spence Berman at Powered by Jonas. The casting process was. Was really fun. Incredible, you know, because all of the talent we were seeing were phenomenal. And there were. There was obviously a handful that. That were just perfect for these roles. And some people that we actually have some, you know, some mutual friends of. And different things, it all just made sense, came together kind of beautifully. And these performers have, I think, you know, a very promising future. I'd say we should show a clip now of Lumi Hudson and Casey.
Joe Jonas
Yes.
Nick Jonas
And then bring them on out here.
Joe Jonas
Roll the clip.
Lark
Oh, good, you guys are awake. Your 24 hours are up.
Lumi Hudson
Is this real or am I still hallucinating?
Lark
This is very real. You're done. Final Jam is tomorrow night. That means you have one day left to work on your songs. Please don't waste it. You know where to find me.
Casey (full name not given)
Is it weird that I'm kind of gonna miss this bus?
Malachi Barton
Not weird. Same here.
Lark
So we make a pact.
Leamani Seguera
Whatever happens, we stay in touch.
Malachi Barton
Great restorative business group chat name.
Casey (full name not given)
How about Cliff and the Cliffhangers?
Lumi Hudson
Cliff.
Joe Jonas
Well, thanks for being on the pod. We're so excited. Camp Rock three day.
Kevin Jonas
Are you guys excited?
Casey (full name not given)
So excited. Today's the day.
Lumi Hudson
Big day.
Joe Jonas
Pretty wild. A lot of preparation going into this movie. Have you guys been looking forward to today quite a bit?
Casey (full name not given)
Yeah. I feel like this has been the most look forward thing for a lot of us. Like, even in the early stages filming, we were like, what are you looking forward to? Are you excited for? And a lot of us were just like, I'm excited for the premiere.
Joe Jonas
So today's great.
Casey (full name not given)
Is a big day.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah. I definitely think that was one of the most exciting days that we were looking forward to and for everybody to see the movie and everything. So, yeah, we're just finally.
Joe Jonas
Well, Lumi, we're reading this note and it got us so excited because we're like, we got to talk about this. So please talk about this jaguar experience, because I'm reading this. You spent 10 months in the jungles of Mexico bonding with the jaguar.
Nick Jonas
Is that correct?
Lumi Hudson
Yeah, actually, I was not expecting for that to be brought up here, but
Joe Jonas
that was the first thing in my notes and I was like, we gotta talk about.
Kevin Jonas
We gotta know about this.
Joe Jonas
Enough about Camp Rock. That's so cool.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah. When I was like about 13 years old, I did this movie called Autumn and the Black Jaguar. And I imprinted with these two Jaguars. And they were about this big when I met them. And I didn't really act for eight months. I kind of just stayed in the jungles of Mexico, and I trained with them, and I acted as their, like, mother almost. And I worked with animal wranglers, and I got to watch them grow up. And then finally, when they hit about eight months, they were pretty much fully grown, and we got to film the movie with them.
Joe Jonas
Wow, that's so cool.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, that's insane.
Lumi Hudson
Quite the experience. And very different. Going to Disney after this, I would say.
Kevin Jonas
Just as hard, right?
Lumi Hudson
Yeah, exactly. I had to train and wrangle these boys. So, yeah.
Joe Jonas
Moving this way. Hudson, this is your first acting debut, correct? It is, yeah.
Kevin Jonas
You did great, kid.
Joe Jonas
Great job.
Casey (full name not given)
Thank you.
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
And I guess it's. You're not that off, like, when it comes to acting, when your family obviously had long, beautiful credits in front of you. What is that like? Growing up at home, do you ever think acting was gonna be something you'd walk into or is it just kind of happened?
Casey (full name not given)
It all just kind of happened. I feel my parents, they're both obviously. My dad is in film and television, but just as himself, and more reality stuff. And my mom. Hudson's an incredible actor, but it was never set out for me to become an actor. I never even knew I wanted to do it. I just saw, like, people from her management agency. They were like, we'd love Hudson audition. Because I've always done music. I've always played the guitar. I've always sung. They're like, we wanted to audition for stuff and a lot of Disney musicals, and I was always like, nah, not for me. I don't really want to. It's not really my style. Not my thing. And then they sent over Camp Rock and, like, one other thing, and I'm like, oh, these are so cool.
Casey
Cool.
Casey (full name not given)
I remember I watched Camp Rock as a kid, like, you know, auditioned for this one. I auditioned for three roles. Fletch, Cliff, and Desi. I ended up with my role, Desi. But, yeah, it's pretty insane to be here at least a little over a year. It's like 370 days after this all started, but it's insane. Wow.
Joe Jonas
And who's counting? That's cool. That's. Well, congrats. That's really exciting. And, Casey, I guess you're no. You're no stranger to a stage.
Casey
Yeah, right.
Joe Jonas
Tell us about that experience for you, because you've done a lot of theater performances, correct?
Casey
Yeah. So back when I was around, like, 4 years old. I started drumming, and I really fell in love with music. And I thought that was what I was gonna do for, like, my whole life. I was like, I'm gonna go on tour. I'm gonna be a drummer of a metal band. My dad got me into metal, and that was my thing when I was a kid.
Joe Jonas
Shout out, dad.
Kevin Jonas
I like that.
Joe Jonas
What kind of metal? Any artists you can say?
Casey
I went. My first. First concert, I went to Iron Maiden.
Kevin Jonas
Nice.
Joe Jonas
How old were you?
Casey
I was six, seven, something like that. And then I went and saw Slipknot and I saw Meshuggah. Swedish metal band. So great. My favorite drummer is part of them.
Kevin Jonas
So you play the drums in this. In this. In this movie as well. Is that something that you've always had a passion for?
Casey
I couldn't really envision my life without it. Like, I started playing my dad, actually, before I was born, he bought a drum set because he's like, I need a hobby to pick up. So he bought this electric remode, like, drum kit. He bought this and over. He didn't. He never played it, but he had sticks there. And when I was two years old, I just picked them up, started playing. And once I was four, I was playing with an instructor. And then at six, I started playing shows, like, local shows, which brought me to, like, a nice band program in Vancouver, where I got to tour around Vancouver and play a lot of really cool events. And that brought me to Camp Rock and to doing some community theater, too.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, very cool.
Casey
So cool.
Nick Jonas
It's amazing. Guys, let me ask you, were you guys. Were you in school during production?
Lumi Hudson
Yeah.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Lumi Hudson
Well, we were doing online or homeschooled, but we were all in school together
Nick Jonas
because that was the thing. When we were shooting our Camp Rocks back in the day, we were homeschooled, we were touring, so we never really, like, studied with other people. And then I remember feeling so excited that I was suddenly in a classroom with all my castmates actually doing school. And it's the only thing that made having to do school while you're working a positive experience.
Joe Jonas
First experience for. In a while for us.
Nick Jonas
But by the second movie, I was already done with school, so I didn't. I didn't get to do that again. But you guys are all in a classroom together, then you're on set together. You had to become, I think, pretty close, pretty fast. And it seemed, at least observing from the time we were on set, like you guys all genuinely got along and had a good rapport. What was that experience like? And and are you guys staying in touch? Is the.
Joe Jonas
Is the.
Nick Jonas
The group chat staying alive?
Lumi Hudson
Yeah, the group chat. We were actually all on FaceTime this morning in the group chat, but great. I think school was like, okay.
Nick Jonas
No one added us. No one added us to the group chat.
Lumi Hudson
Guys, I'm so sorry, but I think school was one of the places where we really bonded the most and where the least schoolwork might have happened.
Casey
I had to drop out of French because of school. Like, I couldn't. Like, I couldn't keep up. It was crazy.
Lumi Hudson
We were just getting yelled at, I think, for talking so much.
Joe Jonas
But that'll happen. Making friends.
Lumi Hudson
It's fun.
Nick Jonas
You're in camp.
Lumi Hudson
It's too fun. We're, like, shooting a scene, and then two seconds later, like, oh, you guys
Casey (full name not given)
gotta go to school.
Lumi Hudson
I'm like, I'm still in the mode of Camp Rock, and I don't want to be learning my camp, my camp. Yeah.
Nick Jonas
I mean, there was obviously a ton of music in the movie on top of school and acting in the scenes. You guys had a pretty intense rehearsal schedule, and this is your first time singing and dancing and acting, you know, on screen. What were the dance rehearsals like? Stressful. Do you guys enjoy that process?
Casey (full name not given)
I have never danced before in my entire life. I didn't know I was gonna dance, going to Camp Rock. I already. I'd already gotten on the plane, and my first day, they were like, you're gonna go to dance rehearsals tomorrow. And I was like, I think you're mistaking me for somebody else in the cast, because I don't. I don't like to dance. Like, that's not my thing. And I had to relearn how to play the piano alongside with that. And I had to kind of learn how to act and be in a movie and all this stuff at once.
Kevin Jonas
You kind of really got put into Camp Rock.
Casey (full name not given)
Yeah, I got into Camp Rock Experience. You got the fullest little workshops. Yeah, it was amazing, But I had a lot of fun. I was around really supportive people who helped me through it. Jamal and Kai, who are the choreographers on Camp Rock, they killed it, and I'm so thankful that they were there. I had a lot of fun.
Lumi Hudson
I think the prep was honestly such a great experience for us. Not just because obviously we have to prep for the movie, doing dances, but I think getting thrown into such a huge project, we got to bond ahead of time and really get into the Camp Rock mode before we actually had to shoot. So I think it was about a month of prep that we had. And, yeah, I mean, learning the dances was just so fun. Got really in shape, I would say. I remember the first day, I think we had, like, dance rehearsals together.
Casey (full name not given)
Yeah.
Lumi Hudson
And I remember I also had to learn how to play the cello, which was very challenging.
Joe Jonas
But that's a lot to learn so quick, too.
Leamani Seguera
Yeah.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah. But it helped me get more into the mode of Camp Rock and the mode of my character, so I'm really grateful for that.
Kevin Jonas
That's awesome.
Casey
I think.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Casey
Same as Hudson. I never knew I was gonna be dancing. I had a. I had an inkling of a feeling. I was like, maybe I'll dance. Maybe I'll do something, but I'm gonna be on the drums. And I came out of the studio, and I swear, my driver goes, you're going to movement now. And I was like, what?
Joe Jonas
What movement.
Casey
Movement was that?
Kevin Jonas
What does that mean?
Casey
And it was dance. And I walk in there and I see a bunch of dancers. I've seen all over my for you page. And I'm. I'm watching them go crazy, and there's, like, freestyling happening, and I'm, okay, so am I gonna watch? Am I gonna drum in the back? And they had me dancing right off the bat. But, yeah, again, Jamal and Kai were so great. They helped us along the way.
Kevin Jonas
And, yeah, I think that happened to us too. We showed up on day one, and
Joe Jonas
they're like, day one, move, dance.
Kevin Jonas
And we are, like, really? Each other.
Nick Jonas
Like, yeah, yeah. No, that's not gonna happen for you guys.
Joe Jonas
All right, well, so on the pod, we do this little fun thing where we have everyone pull a question from the bowl. Questions of questions here that we don't. They're camp related. Would you guys be. Why don't you go first there?
Lumi Hudson
All right.
Joe Jonas
Pass it down.
Lumi Hudson
This feels right.
Casey
Which Camp Rock performance would you have wanted to be a part of? I think I read that right. I'd say, hasta la vista.
Lumi Hudson
Yeah.
Casey
That looks so fun.
Joe Jonas
Yes, absolutely. So fun.
Casey (full name not given)
If you ran a camp, what type of camp would you run? Oh, I don't know. I'd run a music. I'd run Camp Rock.
Joe Jonas
I'd run Camp Rock. That's right.
Casey (full name not given)
Take it from Connie.
Nick Jonas
That's the question.
Casey (full name not given)
My camp. Come on.
Lumi Hudson
Okay, my question is, if you had to add one ridiculous camp activity, what would it be? I think that in this movie, we deal with some mean characters. I would say so maybe, like, bully training.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, I love it. Bowling training. Good answer, though. Bully training. That's good. I think that's Called detention, right?
Kevin Jonas
Yeah. Full disclosure.
Nick Jonas
My.
Kevin Jonas
My girls watched Camp Rock. We watched it the other night, and they absolutely loved your character. They loved you in Electric Bloom, too, by the way. Of course. But they loved your character, and they had to run to go do something. They're like, pause the movie because she's about to perform on the Final Jam, and she's like, we cannot miss it. I was like, we will not miss it. So they were very excited. They thought you did a great job.
Lumi Hudson
Yay.
Kevin Jonas
They thought you all did a great job.
Malachi Barton
That's so sweet.
Nick Jonas
Well, congrats big
Joe Jonas
tonight.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Very proud of yourselves, you guys.
Malachi Barton
Crushed.
Kevin Jonas
You look forward to it for 370 days.
Joe Jonas
Yes.
Casey (full name not given)
370 days and counting.
Lumi Hudson
And counting.
Joe Jonas
And counting. Thanks, guys. Thank you. Wow. That was fun.
Kevin Jonas
So how old do you feel now?
Joe Jonas
I feel quite old.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
I feel a little age. I mean, that's just.
Kevin Jonas
Wow.
Nick Jonas
It's kind of.
Joe Jonas
You know, it's funny, I don't feel
Nick Jonas
that old because we didn't know a little bit.
Kevin Jonas
Were you born yet when it came out? And they would have told you. No.
Joe Jonas
Some of which. Some of. Some of these. These new campers weren't even born when.
Kevin Jonas
That's what I mean.
Joe Jonas
It's when we went to camp.
Nick Jonas
Most of them.
Joe Jonas
Well, this is how old we are.
Nick Jonas
We're not born.
Joe Jonas
This is how old we are, guys. In the original movie, we're not even campers.
Nick Jonas
That's true.
Joe Jonas
It's a camp we went to.
Nick Jonas
We're alumni.
Kevin Jonas
Oh, yeah.
Nick Jonas
Oh, no.
Joe Jonas
Exactly. We were there to be. You were a counselor. Kevin, you're a counselor?
Malachi Barton
Counselor.
Joe Jonas
In the first.
Nick Jonas
How were you in the first one?
Joe Jonas
I was. How old was I?
Kevin Jonas
I was 20 years old.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. I was 18 and.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
So too old for camp? Technically not.
Malachi Barton
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
So I was also.
Nick Jonas
You were aged out.
Joe Jonas
I was not. I was a counselor. That's right.
Casey
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Well.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, that's right.
Joe Jonas
And it's just amazing to see kind of their excitement. This is going to be such an amazing ride.
Nick Jonas
It's gonna change their lives.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, it's going. It's already. It already is. And also, it's so much different now. I mean, I was like, seeing, like, the. Today there's, like, I just came on my feed and Camp Rock and like a coffee shop collab. I'm like, what? We wanted a coffee shop collab. The cool. Like, I mean, we. We opened a couple roller coasters, but we never did a coffee shop class. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Anyway, so thrilled for them and obviously excited for Everyone to see the movie, please watch it with your family and friends.
Nick Jonas
This movie is meant to be enjoyed with the family. I think the fact that there are people that connected with it and resonated with it when they were in their teens or when they were kids who now probably have kids of their own and those parents that watched it with them back then, now, now grandparents. It should be something that the whole family can enjoy. And I think for us, as we step into this kind of chapter of our life and journey, teaming up with Disney again and finding projects like this with a Christmas movie where we can just bring some, some joy into people's lives and we can have people connect with the people they love. That's what it's all about for us. But that's again, why having our incredible warriors here today. Piper Bell and Eliza.
Joe Jonas
You say incredible lawyers.
Nick Jonas
Warriors.
Joe Jonas
Oh, warriors. Yes. Of course, you guys may are lawyers, too. Yeah. But we are so glad you guys are here. You said lawyers.
Nick Jonas
Sentimental moment gone once again.
Joe Jonas
It's a silly, silly, sentimental moment. But we are so glad to see you again.
Kevin Jonas
Yes.
Joe Jonas
And you guys are here. Thank you for inspiring us. And we, we just, we love you guys. So thank you. Appreciate you. All right, all right, all right. If you're watching, if you're watching us
