Jonas hey guys. Welcome back to your favorite Jonas Centric podcast. I have news.
Nick Jonas
I have news.
Kevin Jonas
I can't wait to hear your news. What's up Nick?
Nick Jonas
I have been appointed a new title by the U.S. government in conjunction with with.
Joe Jonas
I think I'm also a part of this.
Nick Jonas
You could be, but I don't know if you've gotten the call yet. I Have gotten the call with a letter as well. I've been appointed to the department of Society and Culture.
Joe Jonas
Very excited about this society.
Nick Jonas
I'm the minister. The minister of society and culture.
Kevin Jonas
So our podcast, that's our category.
Joe Jonas
We created a category so we could have the number one podcast.
Nick Jonas
If you're wondering what we do, it's
Joe Jonas
mostly podcasts and the occasional vlog and occasional sing.
Kevin Jonas
What does one minister do, Nick? What are their roles?
Nick Jonas
It's pretty important. Interviewing, looking at prompts and prep for the interviews. Although today Joe said that he's going to raw dog the pod is what you said.
Kevin Jonas
So raw potting.
Nick Jonas
Raw raw potting this cuz you did zero prep. Well, I this episode brought to you
Joe Jonas
by RAW Pods, wherever you can raw your pod. All right. I heard a knock at the door,
Nick Jonas
which means our guest is here.
Joe Jonas
He's here. He's timely.
Kevin Jonas
Very timely.
Joe Jonas
Welcome.
Nick Jonas
Teddy swims to the pod.
Joe Jonas
Teddy swims. Yes. God damn time, bro.
Teddy Swims
What's up?
Kevin Jonas
My wife is so jealous that we're doing this right now. She's the biggest fan.
Joe Jonas
We're so excited to have you on this. And me and Teddy go way back. Let's hear those.
Nick Jonas
Hear the history.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, history. All right.
Teddy Swims
How we met as well.
Joe Jonas
Okay. So my buddy Jesse in London was like, yeah, I'm going to go see this amazing show tonight. You want to come? And to be honest, as me, as a musician, I don't. If you feel this way, as a musician, I on days off, I don't really love going to concerts.
Teddy Swims
Never, man.
Sheba Cat Food Advertiser
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
I'm not big on concerts, but I went.
Kevin Jonas
Thing to do. I went.
Joe Jonas
I was like, all right, I'll go. And I was. I'm a fan. But I was like, I'll go. I didn't know your live show. Like, I was like, my job was on the floor. I was fangirling taking videos the whole time. The show itself is just so great. Your discography is unbelievable. Your voice is amazing. We have a lot of similar friends that we work together with, but I was floored. And afterwards, like, hey, if you want to come say hi to Teddy after the show. So I went backstage and this was in. You played a couple nights of this?
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Your song was going on like 12 weeks or something crazy. It was nuts. Number one, that is. And I met and it was all love. And you told this amazing story that I could not believe. And I never even heard this before. I was like, what? And we hit it off. We had maybe one to 12 tequilas, something like that. And Then fast forward. You know, we stay in touch. I see he's gonna be playing Coachella on the main stage, which is insane. And I'm like, yo, bro, we just start texting. And I was like, if you need a background singer, man, count me in. I'm gonna be out there, dude.
Teddy Swims
Well, so here's the story of the bit.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, you gotta tell the story.
Teddy Swims
Okay. When I was 15, girlfriend at the time was serious, serious girlfriend, obviously, of course, my first love, you know. Well, you know, we had lost our virginities to each other too. And our song was when you look me in the eyes.
Kevin Jonas
So we were there.
Teddy Swims
Yes, bro. So. So we're not. Not. I don't think we made love to that song at the time.
Kevin Jonas
Go with it.
Teddy Swims
But so, you know, I, I, I told Joe that we were actually at Lakewood amphitheater in Atlanta. You guys played a show. Demi was playing with you guys. It was right around Camp Rock. Cause it was her. Her 16th birthday. I want to say.
Kevin Jonas
It was tour, probably.
Joe Jonas
Yeah.
Teddy Swims
Okay.
Joe Jonas
Geez.
Teddy Swims
And so we're at that show, man. And so, like, you know, I was so madly in love. And so I told Joe that. And when we met, and so it was so cool. And we were trying to figure out something to do for Coachella. And he's like, man, I remember that this song means a lot to you. Would you want to do it? And I was like, dude, if. I mean, only if Rose are cool with it, that I would
Joe Jonas
say, you guys cool. I think I was already, like, to be honest, sound checking. And I was like, hey. I'm like, I'm still doing this. So if you guys say no, that's on you now. Correct me if I'm wrong. Teddy, you were in football at the time.
Teddy Swims
Yes. Okay. So the. The bit.
Kevin Jonas
The.
Teddy Swims
The bit was. So I was. It was a Wednesday night. I still remember because I skipped football practice to go see you guys at Lakewood, and.
Kevin Jonas
Wow.
Teddy Swims
And my. My coach at the time, you know, every time you miss a practice, you'd have to, like, run, like, laps. And so when I came back, all the dudes have found out that I'd, like, skipped football practice. I remember them being like, you boosted football practice to go to the Jonas brothers zone? So my coach ended up making me run double.
Kevin Jonas
Oh, my gosh.
Teddy Swims
But where's he at now, though?
Joe Jonas
Exactly.
Nick Jonas
Not here.
Joe Jonas
That is wild.
Kevin Jonas
Well, we're happy that you were a fan back then.
Teddy Swims
And Vegas.
Kevin Jonas
My God, that's so cool.
Nick Jonas
So I watched the performance on the stream that you guys did of, of look me in the eyes. And I have to say, if there's anybody that's going to sing my parts of a song, dude, what a blessing. Pretty fitting.
Joe Jonas
Sounded both sounded incredible. And we got so good. I mean, he also had David Lee Roth.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, bro, that was so sweet.
Joe Jonas
Which was so iconic and like, what a rock star. I mean, through and through, dude.
Teddy Swims
On, yeah, on and off stage, bro is just like, so, so he had called me, I remember like going into the second weekend too. And he had called me like prior to the show. He wanted to talk on like Thursday. And he's so old that he like, he won't learn his phone. So he calls his manager to call mine to put a four way call on to talk about it. And so he tried to get in touch with me for like three days. And finally we got on the call and he's like, hey, Teddy. So I thought we were gonna talk about the show or anything like that. And he says, man. So I was, I spent like a year living in Thailand and when I was out in Thailand, I was, I, I did this like thousand mile jungle bike ride.
Kevin Jonas
Whoa.
Teddy Swims
And so, and so I had this, we had these jungle bikes and I had this JBL speaker sitting right under my balls, man. And, and I made this, I made this playlist and I don't like, like, I don't like, listen to a lot of rock and roll music. I listen to like music like you do like, like you like play like soul music and like R and B music and stuff. So, so I made this 13 hour playlist and I want you to listen to this playlist and I think it might influence you, inspire you. But I want you, when you listen to it, I want you to think about, of Thailand on my jungle bike, just ripping with this JBL under my balls. I want you to think about that when you listen to this playlist. I was like, yes.
Kevin Jonas
Did you listen to the 13 hours?
Teddy Swims
I didn't get that far.
Kevin Jonas
So what's the Coachella prep like?
Teddy Swims
I mean, the prep is, is, you know, it's, I mean, we're, we're in the midst of doing a bunch of other things. And so it was kind of hell.
Joe Jonas
I mean, I, I, to answer that question a little bit, Kev, because as a, as a guest, like, rolling, we
Kevin Jonas
haven't done it at all. So I'm just curious for the one
Teddy Swims
day, it's so fun rolling up and
Joe Jonas
seeing this, you know, your team put into the attention to detail. I mean, the stage he had within the Stage.
Nick Jonas
It's amazing.
Joe Jonas
It's really amazing. And I love the door.
Nick Jonas
Letting the guests through the door. It was great.
Kevin Jonas
It was great.
Joe Jonas
Knock, knock, knock.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, dude. Okay, so we got. We got a little. We got the Funk by Positive Force.
Nick Jonas
Yeah.
Teddy Swims
Take Back the Night. Justin Timberlake, Can't Stop the Feeling. Justin Timberlake. He's got some Halsey on here, man. Some Disclosure, some J. Cole all over the place.
Joe Jonas
I love it.
Teddy Swims
We got Joyride. We got some.
Joe Jonas
I would not.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, man, I. I did not. I didn't take him for a JCole fan. Really, man. You know, to Frank Sinatra. It's all over the place, dude.
Malcolm Glebel
Hours.
Nick Jonas
You need.
Joe Jonas
You need some vibe shifts.
Teddy Swims
Back to Ireland by Baja, man. You guys know that record that.
Joe Jonas
We got to hear that.
Teddy Swims
Hold on. I don't have.
Kevin Jonas
Wow. I could see the.
Joe Jonas
The jungle bike down there kind of a vibe, though.
Kevin Jonas
I think he was with you.
Joe Jonas
This is not a real play. He just put a bunch of songs on here. This is.
Kevin Jonas
This is like something you would ask Chatgpt to make for you, you know,
Joe Jonas
I gotta say, also one of the coolest things, and you're a new father. Congrats. Yeah, newish. 11 months old, you said?
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
It's a two part question. A really. What was that like, having your son act. I mean, you play Coachella. I'm on. I'm like, there's a moment I get to watch your. Your wife and your son watching you. And like, you know, obviously it's Goo Goo Gaga, but he's like. He knows. He's like, that's my dad.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, dude. It was.
Joe Jonas
It was.
Teddy Swims
I mean, I remember, like, right before we walk out, you know, and he's sitting right there and it just. Dude sobbed. I just, like, so grateful that he, like, was able to be there. And we had bought this, like, it's called like a W4, like, you know, like a kid wagon, but they made this like, limited edition, like Volkswagen bus version of it. I saw backstage, you know, it's hard. So he was just riffing around Coachella in this thing. It was right on.
Kevin Jonas
Car.
Joe Jonas
What's that? I mean, we spoke about a little bit, but, like, being a dad for you. What. What's been the biggest change in your life since becoming a father, man?
Teddy Swims
You know, I. I think. I think that. And I think present is like, really the thing that I've learned the most about it, like, being. I find that like even I even see this sometimes too. Like, I've had this happen or I still am guilty of this. Where I'm like, with my son and I'm doom scrolling, you know, And I'll just catch myself like, what are you doing, bro? Why are you doing that? You know, And I'm trying to. I got back from the gym not too long ago and this is one thing that really was a revelation to me that I got. He crawled right over to me, so excited. And I pick him up and hold him for a second and I set him down. Cause I'm trying to cook a little something real quick to eat. And he's crying. And then I was like, hold on, son, give me a second. And I'm trying to cook and he's crying and I'm picking back up. And I was like, all right, let daddy do something, you know, and starts crying again. And it just dawned on me. Cause I found myself getting frustrated with this like 10 month old at the time, you know, And I was like. I said, you know what? I just turned the stove off. And I was like, man, that's not gonna be happening forever, you know. And honestly, eating can wait. It's optional. I felt like by getting frustrated with him because I was hungry. It's just such a. I don't know, I felt like so weird in my soul about it that I was like, you know what? Let's. Let's go sit down on the couch. Let's go play, man. You know, And I think, I think that the biggest thing that I've learned and I've heard, man, my. My sweet friend Thomas Rhett say this all the time. He's like, no matter what, man, just look at those kids in the eyes, man. Just like make sure they know that you're there and that you're like, available. And those times I find it like, you know, as somebody that's always like constantly feeling like I'm not doing enough or I want to. I want to be like doing more and more and more. I find that sometimes when I'm with my son and he's just playing and doing his thing and I'm watching him, we're just watching Bluey on TV or something, I'm like, this is the most productive thing that I could be doing right now, you know, or ever at all, or for anything. And it just like, it makes me feel that I want to be when I'm at my work job or when I'm at home or wherever I'm at. I want to be where my feet are and be grounded right there.
Joe Jonas
Where.
Teddy Swims
With who I am and where I am and like, just present.
Kevin Jonas
Wow.
Joe Jonas
So good.
Kevin Jonas
Dude.
Joe Jonas
Let's love that.
Kevin Jonas
Lovely.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. I mean, dude, you know. Yummy.
Kevin Jonas
Well, it's just something to struggle with.
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
Every day, right? Like, I take those words very seriously with what you just said.

Hello? Hello, this is Malcolm Glabel from Smart Talks with IBM. Today we're diving into a fascinating conversation with Stefano Pallard, head of fan development for Scuderia Ferrari hp.
Stefano Pallard
Your pronunciation is strongly American. It's more Scuderia Ferrari.
Malcolm Glebel
I'm still working on rolling my R's, but what I was able to learn from Stefano was the importance of engaging the tifosi, the Ferrari superfans. In the digital age.
Stefano Pallard
Ferrari fans and super fans want to be part of something, want to belong to something. So they want to be part of a community and Ultimately, they want to be part of a winning team.
Malcolm Glebel
You've got Ferrari, which has a long history, design history, and now you're interacting in a kind of digital space. I'm curious how you balance those two traditions.
Stefano Pallard
When it comes to fan engagement, it's really digital technology, and digital channels are being able to create a deeper connection with our fans.

Kevin Jonas
dude,
Teddy Swims
how was it with the show when you guys were all, like, doing the thing when you had the reality bit going on?
Kevin Jonas
Didn't have kids yet, so when we did married to Jonas, it was just me and Danny and the fam. But luckily we didn't have the girls. But we kind of. The minute we got pregnant, actually, with our first olena, we decided not to continue because I was like. We both knew that it was a little bit too much on the family, and it was also, like, we were new to it. I'll be completely honest with you. I think we would have done it very differently now, but it was in our actual house. Lit rigs like this in your house, and the people showing up and then just leaving the house a mess. And we were cleaning up the house at night before we go to bed to, like, reset it for the next day. It was just like. It was a lot. It was cool during the time, but for the time being, like, it was great. But having the girls, we. They didn't then obviously the band was broken up at the time, then after that, so we didn't have them. They didn't see us play or even know kind of that part of my life until they were actually more a little older into everything, which was really, really cool. So then they came to the 2019, like, obviously when Happiness Begins happened and the reunion of everything. They came to that tour for the first time, saw us perform, and I think that was, like, the most emotional I've ever been. Just, like, feeling them in the room. One, I never thought it was gonna happen again. And then two, like, that's, you know, that's. That's. That's them there. So I totally. I hear you.
Joe Jonas
You and your wife have one of the most amazing covers together that, like, kind of went pretty viral.
Teddy Swims
No, that's still the one when we did.
Joe Jonas
I'm just. Pull it up, dude.
Nick Jonas
It's so good.
Joe Jonas
I'm gonna pull it up. I'm gonna literally just show our viewers here.
Nick Jonas
Let's.
Joe Jonas
Let's show it. If the football career doesn't work, Out.
Teddy Swims
Smooth, bro.
Joe Jonas
All right, now I gotta ask. How did you guys meet?
Teddy Swims
She was working with this guy. Arsenio Archer is a dear buddy of mine, and we went to high school together, and he's a producer. He's done a lot of cool stuff, man. It's one of my best pals. And we were at my studio in Atlanta. This was, you know, four, five years ago now. And so he was like, you gotta listen to this girl I've been working with, this girl Ra's, and showed me, you know, a video or their song they did, you know. And so then I looked her up, and I was like, whoa. I just kind of, like, you know, reached out and was like, hey, I love you. You know, you're amazing. And we kind of stayed in touch, watched each other from afar. But it was actually a friend of hers, a roommate of hers, was like, you know, was a big fan of. Of me. And so she was like, hey, I see that you're coming into town for, you know, a show in Atlanta. And, you know, I would, but it'd make my. My girlfriend, like, pumped if we could come see the show. So, you know, where they came. And then I was like, you know, feeling myself.
Kevin Jonas
What's your move?
Joe Jonas
What was your move?
Teddy Swims
Like, we had this little after party of the vinyl and.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, but also right off stage, too, you're like. You always feel like, Yeah, person of interest, poi in the audience.
Nick Jonas
Yeah, Actually, let's.
Joe Jonas
Let's just talk about this real quick
Nick Jonas
because we've had this conversation many times about, you know, back in. In the day when I was single, been married now for almost eight years, and. And Joe, you know, been dating and all that. When you invite somebody to the show, a poi.
Joe Jonas
A poi poi.
Nick Jonas
And after they try to do, like, the playing it cool thing, they're just
Joe Jonas
like, oh, that's cool.
Kevin Jonas
Don't do that.
Nick Jonas
I don't want you to be like, it was amazing.
Kevin Jonas
Any of the music. But, like, it was great.
Joe Jonas
I remember there's this girl invited to a show in Paris, and she was texting on her phone backstage, and I was like, hey, like, so, like, what did you think? And I. I was like, did. And I internally, I'm like, did you just ask her what you thought of the show? Cooked. Anyway, you know, I don't mean to be, like, super fast, to be clear, before. Don't play it cool before someone clips
Nick Jonas
this and goes, oh, they just want them to come and be, like, all excited. It's like, no, we don't need. It doesn't need to be like that.
Joe Jonas
I don't have. Looking for a super famous.
Nick Jonas
It was a game changer when my wife came to the show. She was just so supportive.
Joe Jonas
That's what I'm saying.
Nick Jonas
I was like, that's amazing. Like, she was really invested in this thing that I care so deeply about with me.
Kevin Jonas
That's what I'm saying.
Nick Jonas
And I. That's. That's what we're saying.
Kevin Jonas
There's a. There's a line of playing it too.
Joe Jonas
That's what I'm saying.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, dude, I get this all the time. Well, for me, I think it's so much of like, not. Not even just a poi at the
Kevin Jonas
show, but I love that, by the way. That is so good.
Teddy Swims
But just in general, when I like, I do. This is one of my, like, worst, worst situations that's ever happened to me as far as like meeting somebody in like an airport, right? I met this guy and he comes over, he's like, hey, Teddy, come here, man. I'm like, what's up, brother? And he's. He said, so, man, my foreman at work, she's an older lady, man. She loves your stuff. He said, like, don't get me wrong, man, like, I don't fuck with your stuff at all. I listen to like Chief Keef and like Kendrick Lamar and like hip hop and stuff. So I really don't with you, but, like, would you mind if we got a picture for her? And I was like, bro, I don't know what it is about men sometimes too, where they're just scared to like anything. It's like, makes you like. Well, it's like, it makes you imagine to like, things.
Kevin Jonas
I wouldn't even know what to wear
Joe Jonas
if my wife didn't pick out my clothes.
Kevin Jonas
It's like, dude, it's okay to like clothes.
Teddy Swims
It's okay to.
Kevin Jonas
It's okay to dress yourself nicely.
Teddy Swims
Why has it got to be so? Why do men have to be so.
Nick Jonas
Yeah, it's like, can you take a. You sign this for my sister? It's like, sure. It's like, what's her name? He's like, brad.
Teddy Swims
Brad.
Joe Jonas
Yeah, I think we. We have that same experience, especially growing up like this. This was always blew our minds. Was like, for us, you know, growing up as sports fans and we would go to these, you know, and I get it, you know, we're now. We get it more. But like, we were like a quote unquote boy band. We played our instruments and wrote our songs. But like, we'd go to these. Go to whether we're on the sidelines of a game and, like, get on the jumbotron.
Teddy Swims
It's like, boo. That's crazy.
Joe Jonas
And we were like, bro, I also love this team. Exactly. I'm here because I love you.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. That's so weird, man.
Joe Jonas
But, I mean, it doesn't happen as much anymore. I think people aged out of that audience have, like. Or the guys that have. But it is funny every once. I be like, yo, I'm. I'm not a fan, but my cousin loves y'.
Kevin Jonas
All.
Joe Jonas
Can I get a pick? I find that hilarious. But anyway, back to your story. She was backstage.
Teddy Swims
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And, you know, I mean, we just, you know, like, I did slow my little thing.
Joe Jonas
Boom.
Teddy Swims
There you go.
Joe Jonas
Done. How can my.
Teddy Swims
You know, The rest is history.
Joe Jonas
I love that for you.
Nick Jonas
All right, we have a few questions from some of our incredible listeners here.
Teddy Swims
Okay.
Nick Jonas
The first one is kind of. I didn't even know this that well. I'll just ask a question. Teddy Lose Control was featured in the latest season of Bridgerton during a very steamy scene.
Joe Jonas
I watched it.
Nick Jonas
And Nick Jealous was featured in Bridgerton season three, too. These questions are for all of you. First, what Jonas Brothers songs deserves the Bridgeton treatment?
SpinQuest Promo Host 2
Treatment.
Joe Jonas
Well, I think.
Nick Jonas
What's your favorite use of a song in a TV show or movie?
Joe Jonas
I think Teddy gave Look Me in the Eyes. The.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. Was Jealous is steamy in that show?
Joe Jonas
I don't think so.
Nick Jonas
I think it was like.
Teddy Swims
I've seen it.
Kevin Jonas
So it was a dance. It was a sequence, and it was a dance moment.
Joe Jonas
It was like.
Kevin Jonas
It was during a ball.
Joe Jonas
It was a string version.
Kevin Jonas
It's great.
Teddy Swims
Well, then I think. Well, they had sex during my song, so I think I won that one.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, they're, like, all up in a bathtub, like, getting it in, bro.
Teddy Swims
Well, I think it was like. It also was like. It was like a string quartet.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, Everything. Like, it's that rendition. It's actually cool. Kind of. I listened to the. I'd like to just see. Fell into this because we share a Spotify account, me and my. My wife on the family.
Teddy Swims
Sure.
Kevin Jonas
And it, like, fell.
Joe Jonas
Sure. There's.
Kevin Jonas
There is a lot of that.
Joe Jonas
I don't listen to my. I don't dress myself. It's okay.
Teddy Swims
Wow. It's okay. You could have a Spotify
Joe Jonas
eat your words.
Kevin Jonas
Yes, exactly. I got the Bridgerton soundtrack while I was sleeping on a plane randomly. And I was like, this is actually fantastic.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. Okay.
Joe Jonas
There you go. You can like it too. You can like it too, Kev. I like to see Bridgerton year 3000. The sexualized year 3000 version. Okay, next question. Oh, what is your favorite use of a song in a TV show or a movie? Like.
Nick Jonas
Like any song.
Joe Jonas
I mean, that's the qu. That's what they're asking.
Kevin Jonas
I think they're referring to his.
Joe Jonas
In a TV show of yours.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, my song. I don't know because I. I find like.
Kevin Jonas
You think a lot.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, but I find with like. So they just did like the, you know, the new version of man on Fire.
Kevin Jonas
Oh, right.
Joe Jonas
And.
Teddy Swims
And. And so when they sent over the. The like the trailer of it and then like, you know, they. Where they kind of do the thing where they cut your song up and they just put it in places in between like cuts of scenes.
Kevin Jonas
Moments.
Joe Jonas
Yeah.
Teddy Swims
And it's got these big explosions. And so I find myself trying to get into the. The trailer of it and I'm in the world and then I hear like, you know. No, I don't know my. And I was like, that just kind of takes me out of the world altogether, you know, Because I feel so close to that that I. If I'm trying to get into another
Joe Jonas
world of something else, it can. It can take.
Teddy Swims
Pulls me so far out of the. The environment or the like the world of the song.
Kevin Jonas
It pulled me in. So I liked it.
Teddy Swims
Right. I'm sure you've. I've probably felt that like too when yalls stuff is on something, does it like completely like pull you out of the. I mean, it's honor, obviously, but you know, it's. It's. It just pulls me out of the world altogether.
Joe Jonas
Cake by the ocean had a couple interesting sinks.
Kevin Jonas
It's like the most S song like ever.
Joe Jonas
I don't think ever. We're talking. We're talking Teddy swims right now. It was really funny though, because
Nick Jonas
I
Joe Jonas
would see it for like songs that get the kids bop treatment. You're like that they. Well, I guess I don't know if they know what they're singing.
Teddy Swims
Dude. I remember they had the. The hot tamales. I'm sweating back in the day. All gold, everything.
Kevin Jonas
Yes.
Joe Jonas
That's so funny.
Teddy Swims
But I think. I think probably the most sync song I would probably put my like my chip on would be like spend out ballet, you know, that's always like when somebody falls in love and that thing like the love interest is in and it's. Notice that one. I feel like I've heard so many times in movies oh, absolutely.
Joe Jonas
So, Ted, we have this fun thing in our pod where we have a bowl of questions. We don't know what they are. Would you just pull questions?
Teddy Swims
Yeah, sure. Let's get deep. Sometimes into the bowl. Not like deep into the question.
Kevin Jonas
Or both.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. If your phone battery is at 2%, you can only text one person. Who gets the text? Probably Claire, my assistant. I'll be like, hey, do you know about phone charger?
Joe Jonas
I respect it. Because instead of being like, I'm gonna text my wife saying goodbye, she's like, yo, where's my phone charger at?
Kevin Jonas
Which one of our security has the phone charger on them in real time?
Joe Jonas
Okay, I'm gonna pull one for you, Teddy.
Teddy Swims
Okay, buddy, what you got?
Joe Jonas
When's the last time you had to plunge a toilet?
Teddy Swims
I don't know. You know, I was. I will answer it like this.
LifeLock Advertiser
Oh, God.
Teddy Swims
I didn't. I did. It's. It's been. It's been. I can't remember the last time because.
Kevin Jonas
That's good.
Joe Jonas
That's good.
Teddy Swims
I didn't. Also didn't realize I was an alcoholic until I realized not everybody has chronic diarrhea every morning. You know what I'm saying? So it's not solid enough to really cause a scene. You know what I mean? It's been a while.
Joe Jonas
Get something to check.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
Maybe just before Coachella because you were drinking for a week or two. Okay, well, we also came with a gift for you. Okay. You're. How old are you now?
Teddy Swims
I'm 33.
Joe Jonas
Okay, perfect. So I've recently found my old collection of Pokemon cards. Yeah.
Teddy Swims
Okay. I've been seeing you collect some.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. And I've been posting, annoyingly, a lot, but I'm going for it. And we brought you a gift that we thought we could open here with you. This is the 1999. 1999 sealed pack, booster pack. There's 11 cards in here. This is our gift to you because we love you.
Kevin Jonas
We're gonna rip it live.
Joe Jonas
We figured we'd rip it live if you're down.
Teddy Swims
Where did you get this?
Kevin Jonas
He bought it.
Joe Jonas
My dealer. And we figured.
Teddy Swims
That's how it says.
Kevin Jonas
We figured, figured.
Joe Jonas
Let's.
Kevin Jonas
Let's.
Joe Jonas
Let's see what you get.
Teddy Swims
Okay.
Joe Jonas
Whatever you pulls yours, and hopefully you pull Charizard.
Teddy Swims
You know, I'm not a collector these days, so if there's anything worth a damage. Sure it's buddy.
Joe Jonas
Nah, it's yours, son.
Teddy Swims
Okay, we got a. Coughing.
Joe Jonas
Coughing.
Nick Jonas
That's good.
Joe Jonas
Here, I'll hold the ones for you get a coughing.
Teddy Swims
We got a Voltorb.
Joe Jonas
Oh, okay. Oh, this might. I haven't seen this pack yet.
Teddy Swims
Bill Trainer.
Joe Jonas
We love. We love a Trainer.
Kevin Jonas
Early Joe.
Joe Jonas
Bill Pidgey.
Kevin Jonas
Everybody loves a Pidgey.
Joe Jonas
There's a lot of Pidgey fans out there.
Teddy Swims
Sandshrew. That's nice. Okay, we got a Haunter.
Joe Jonas
A haunter.
Nick Jonas
Hunter's good.
Kevin Jonas
Hunters are big.
Teddy Swims
I don't know if we're gonna get a holographic.
Joe Jonas
We'll see.
Teddy Swims
Pokedex.
Kevin Jonas
Interesting.
Teddy Swims
Eradicate. Oh, this is a bust, bro. They got a bus Energy Energy poster. Professor Oak.
Kevin Jonas
There we go.
Joe Jonas
Oh, imposter. Okay, well, these all still go for cash, so.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, okay, we'll get you.
Kevin Jonas
We tried.
Joe Jonas
We'll get you paid.
Kevin Jonas
How.
Teddy Swims
Well, how much was. Would you mind disclosing how much one of these packs are

Malcolm Glebel
Hello. Hello, this is Malcolm Glebel from Smart talks with IBM. Today. We're diving into a fascinating conversation with Stefano Pallard, head of fan development for Scuderia Ferrari hp.
Stefano Pallard
Your pronunciation is strongly American. It's more Scuderia Ferrari.
Malcolm Glebel
I'm still working on rolling my R's, but what I was able to learn from Stefano was the importance of engaging the Tifosi, the Ferrari super fans in the digital age.
Stefano Pallard
Ferrari fans and super fans want to be part of something, want to belong to something. So they want to be part of a community and ultimately they want to be part of a winning team.
Malcolm Glebel
You've got Ferrari, which has a long history, design history, and now you're interacting in a kind of digital space. I'm curious how you balance those two traditions.
Stefano Pallard
When it comes to fan engagement, it's really digital technology. And digital channels are being able to create a deeper connection with our fans.
Malcolm Glebel

Joe Jonas
You're here for the AMAs.
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Joe Jonas
What are you performing? What's the plan?
Teddy Swims
Our song, Mr. Know It All.
Kevin Jonas
Hell yeah.
Teddy Swims
Recently. And then, you know, we're up for best collaboration, I believe it is, or whatever the verbiage is on that, but knock on wood. Yeah, we'll see. But what's your.
Joe Jonas
What's your take with award shows? Do you enjoy them? Do you feel like I enjoy them?
Teddy Swims
I think they're a little bit more like nerve wracking, though, you know what I mean? Because, like, when you agree with that, when you show, you're like, those people already like me.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. And you're like, you're like, totally.
Sheba Cat Food Advertiser
Damn.
Joe Jonas
That artist I love is sitting down.
Nick Jonas
It's a little bad.
Kevin Jonas
I'm pretty sure everyone in the room loves you.
Teddy Swims
Well, I appreciate that.
Joe Jonas
You know, a lot of love to give. That's one thing I definitely hats off to you, is that you're you. Teddy Dash Bear is definitely a part of your DNA. And you, you're a sweetheart of a person. Genuinely, like, great to be around. And the people you have around you too, I think that's key. You know, you meet a lot of people's teams.
Teddy Swims
I've had the same band since I've been a little kid.
Joe Jonas
They're awesome.
Kevin Jonas
They rip, man.
Nick Jonas
They're so good.
Joe Jonas
Remind me your guitar player, he shreds Jesse or daddy.
Teddy Swims
Which one of the. Well, either one of them. They're both. They're both great.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. Award shows are interesting. I mean, I feel like sometimes we've had experiences where we look at each other and we'll have a little pep talk. Like, yo, let's just have fun and let's go up to people and say hi. And I love when people. It's interesting when you disarm people by going up to them. And I know you're like this. You're like, yo, I love this song. I love this movie.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, I think it's. I think it's so important to, like, always say the thing, you know, because I feel like I've even also, you know, to give that guy some slack. I've never been like, I don't fuck with you to somebody, but I. I definitely get the, like, I don't want to bug them thing or the. Also the first thing that comes in my head, like, I don't want to be like, I love you, but what's. What's. Why do I do that? You know? And so I try to, like, just choke that back and be like, I love you, man. I'm such a massive fan. Like, it's. Everybody would love to hear that. Right?
Kevin Jonas
You know, that was like my biggest, like, lesson to myself when I was younger. We were at a showcase for, like, Columbia Records back in the day, and John Mayer was there. And of course, like, to me, that was my acoustic guitar education. You know, playing three by five was like the way I learned that a, you know, metaphor in song is like, what it was. Right. So he was there. I didn't say hi, and I regretted it like, the biggest. I was like, I'll never do that again. So like, my entire existence after that was just like, if I wanted to talk to somebody, I was going to go immediately up to them. So it taught me a good lesson.
Nick Jonas
I find award shows to be. It definitely, like, the social anxiety gets at an all time high.
Teddy Swims
Absolutely.
Nick Jonas
And I'm like, too conscious of kind of what everyone's thinking, but I think that everyone is doing that. My wife, the other day, we were actually the Oscars, and she was presenting and she was kind of stressed about it. I was like, just remember that everybody else here is also stressed about being here, no matter who they are.
Joe Jonas
Everyone took a while to, like, everyone got ready for this. They just rolled in.
Kevin Jonas
No one's eaten all day. Because there's always like, oh, there's gonna be food when you get there. And then there's never food.
Teddy Swims
There's like hors d'.
Kevin Jonas
Oeuvres.
Joe Jonas
Yeah. It's just not enough food.
Nick Jonas
It's Like a piece of warm sushi.
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
It's like hummus that sat out in the sun all day.
Teddy Swims
Cheese.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah. It's never enough food.
Teddy Swims
No, it's not. I chow beforehand, bro.
Joe Jonas
I mean, also pretty exciting that we're gonna be able to perform with you today.
Teddy Swims
Yes, bro.
Joe Jonas
Technically, when this airs, it'll be past south.
Kevin Jonas
It was so great performing with you
Joe Jonas
a long time coming, man. But it's honestly, like, such a dream. And we spoke about it. I was like, literally, I was like, I could show. We have to get you at our show now. And we were trying a few times because our tourists weren't. Weren't lining up. You love touring, dude.
Teddy Swims
I. I do. Yeah. I do.
Joe Jonas
Find yourself now more like the finish line is just getting home.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. I think, because with a little one,
Kevin Jonas
like, how do you stay consistent? Like, what is your routine that keeps you, like, healthy on the road, man?
Teddy Swims
Cardio, like, I've been doing. We. I got into boxing about a year ago. Oh, that's, like, Been, like, something that's really. Cardio is always good. Try to get steam, bro. Steam is, like. You know, I think the beautiful thing is, like, so.
Kevin Jonas
Especially out here in the desert.
Teddy Swims
Yeah. Well. But so really, it's acid reflux and steam are the only things that actually touch the vocal cords. So, you know when you're, like, swallowing tea or whatever, your little tongue lays over your vocal cords, so that helps the throat. But the only things that really hydrate the vocal cords is steam. So it's. It's steam room is.
Joe Jonas
Do you use that?
Kevin Jonas
One of those things?
Joe Jonas
I didn't know that.
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
You have one of those things, Joe, that, like.
Joe Jonas
I do, yeah.
Teddy Swims
It's. It's the best.
Joe Jonas
Dude, that's awesome. Like the vaporizer.
Kevin Jonas
The vaporizer thing?
Joe Jonas
Yeah, your.
Kevin Jonas
Your. Your stage bong.
Joe Jonas
My stage bong.
Nick Jonas
I don't think it's a real thing, but I will say that I heard that Amy Grant, the icon. Amy Grant used to eat lay's potato chips.
Teddy Swims
I've heard that. Yeah.
Joe Jonas
It's like glycerins of the throat.
Nick Jonas
And it. Actually, I've done it. It does work. It might just be a placebo thing, but I think it's great.
Kevin Jonas
She knows what she's. She can sing also.
Nick Jonas
Tequila helps as well.
Teddy Swims
Oh, yeah, I do. Have you ever had to. I mean, I'm sure you guys, like,
Joe Jonas
had to drink before show. We've had to do that,
Teddy Swims
but. Ever had to have the fucking rock.com and give you the.
Joe Jonas
We've had.
Kevin Jonas
We've had my pee smelled very like, intense the other day. And we were in the bathroom right before the show, and Nick's like, whoa, something's.
Joe Jonas
I'm like, hold on.
Nick Jonas
Just to be clear, we weren't in the bathroom together.
Joe Jonas
It was urinal.
Kevin Jonas
There's like multiple stalls. We were flying.
Joe Jonas
Mult. We were flying. Just crossing swords. We were in the airport.
Teddy Swims
Okay, so you guys still take baths together like five year olds.
Kevin Jonas
We still live in the same house with the fire pole, actually.
Joe Jonas
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
But yeah, it's B12. B12 will do that too.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, dude, it's. It's. It's. It's like the perfect band aid. I know they'll always be like, you know, don't go too hard because it's just a temporary band aid. But I mean, still just going. Overseeing.
Joe Jonas
Do you have any, like, any show rituals or. There's certain things that you're like, superstitious about before you go on?
Teddy Swims
Yeah. Well, so we. We all like. When I was in high school, my. My theater teacher had taught us like, he'd always like, do like a pinky almost kind of thing with everybody. And so like, I noticed that with the.
Kevin Jonas
You seen with your wife. Is that part of that?
Teddy Swims
Well, not that, but before show, we all do that. And so we all like. And. And now like every one of us has added like our own kind of. Kind of secret handshake to it too. So now there's like all of us have like 70 of them that we're doing like prior to a show.
Joe Jonas
Three hours.
Teddy Swims
Yeah, it's. It's like a 20 minute ordeal.
Kevin Jonas
It's on the day sheet. It's like a pre show.
Teddy Swims
Yeah.
Kevin Jonas
Dabs ups.
Teddy Swims
So we're all doing. And I like, I always find that like, you know, if. If something ever goes wrong, I blame it on like, oh, I missed that person, you know, which. Which is like. Which never. It probably isn't the case, but I think. I think I'm like, it's. It's. I find that I can't recover as well after like a mistake. If I have, then that just stays interesting.
Joe Jonas
You made your. I will say, like live. You are going. Your. Your vocal range is so impressive.
Teddy Swims
I'm screaming.
Joe Jonas
How do you like. So how do you. When you have three, four shows back? Like right now we're. We just got off a Vegas run. We did four nights, but we had one day off. But it's three shows in a row and the Vegas, you know, it's just dry out here.
Kevin Jonas
How do you keep.
Joe Jonas
How do you keep yourself going.
Teddy Swims
We try, we try not to.
Joe Jonas
You got the steam.
Teddy Swims
But we try not to do that.
Joe Jonas
Do you build the set list to make sure it happens?
Teddy Swims
Like, yeah. I mean sometimes I'll like maybe pull a song that's, you know, like I'm not doing that tonight, that's not happening. Or like, you know, like. But I, I, we haven't done like, like I won't do a tour with like. I remember when we first started touring it was like we do these like six in a rows and shit, you
Joe Jonas
know what I mean?
Teddy Swims
And these like small clubs and just screaming at the top of my lungs for an hour and a half. And I went through a phase where I didn't have a fall set up for like two and a half years. I really just was so cooked and it wasn't until we finally like when, when my son was born I took like a month off and just like was there for that whole situation and, and so like beautiful. It came back and I recovered and I was like, ah. And like. But I had not stopped toured until like for like four years and I just didn't have like my falsetto would be the first thing to go every time I'd get out on the road and then it would just, it was gone for I like literally almost three years. I just like couldn't do anything falsetto wise and so then I was like over correcting and screaming some of those notes and only causing further damage. And so I just, yeah, I try, we try our best now to schedule more off days and stuff and like if we're doing a tour, I'm like, I'm not doing three in a rows are just so brutal.
Kevin Jonas
Yeah, we're definitely looking at how we tour and like how we keep home life more stable and I mean we've been talking.
Teddy Swims
We.
Joe Jonas
A Teddy Jonas tour's got to happen.
Nick Jonas
It's got to happen.
Kevin Jonas
Sign me up. Come to our set, she'll come to yours. It'll be great.
Nick Jonas
Thank you for doing this.
Kevin Jonas
Thank you so much for having the time with ha.
Teddy Swims
Thank you so much.
Joe Jonas
We're so excited, man.
Teddy Swims
Me too.
Joe Jonas
Sing with you and hang in, man.
Teddy Swims
Honored. I'm such a long, long, long time fan, bro. It's so good to finally meet you dudes.
Kevin Jonas
And I can't believe it.
Teddy Swims
This is the coolest shit ever.
Joe Jonas
We're having fun.
Teddy Swims
My heart is just doing backflips, bro.
Kevin Jonas
Love you everyone.
Nick Jonas
Jenny swims.
Kevin Jonas
Bye bye.
Joe Jonas
Bye bye.

Podcast: Hey Jonas!
Hosts: Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas
Guest: Teddy Swims
Episode Theme:
A playful, heartfelt conversation with singer-songwriter Teddy Swims, covering music industry stories, fatherhood, memorable syncs in TV/film, tour life, and the complexities of fan and artist relationships.
The Jonas Brothers welcome soulful singer Teddy Swims to their podcast. With a blend of humor, nostalgia, and vulnerability, the group dives into their personal connections, stories from the road, the emotional impact of fatherhood, the realities of fame, and some lighthearted fun. Throughout the episode, listeners get to hear both sides of the fans-to-colleague relationship, Teddy’s journey as a new parent, backstage rituals, and some exclusive behind-the-scenes tales.
How Joe & Teddy Met (03:58–05:12):
Joe explains how he and Teddy met backstage after a Teddy Swims show in London.
"I was fangirling taking videos the whole time. The show itself is just so great. Your discography is unbelievable." — Joe Jonas (04:17)
Teddy Was a Jonas Brothers Fan (05:14–06:39):
Teddy tells the story of skipping football practice to see JBros in Atlanta during his teenage years, emphasizing the emotional formative effect the band had on him – and getting teased by the football team for it.
"My coach ended up making me run double… But where’s he at now though?" — Teddy Swims (06:39)
Full-circle Moment at Coachella (06:14–08:51):
Joe recounts the nostalgic decision to perform "When You Look Me In The Eyes" at Coachella given its significance in Teddy's teenage life.
David Lee Roth’s Iconic Interaction (07:31–08:53):
Teddy relates a wild story about a pre-Coachella call with David Lee Roth involving a 13-hour playlist and jungle adventures in Thailand.
"I made this playlist … I want you to think about Thailand on my jungle bike, just ripping with this JBL under my balls." — David Lee Roth (as relayed by Teddy Swims, 08:27)
Coachella Prep & Stage Production (08:55–09:40):
Discussion about the meticulous behind-the-scenes work and set design for a festival of that magnitude.
Emotional Milestone: Coachella With His Son (10:31–13:38):
Teddy describes the overwhelming joy and gratitude of having his son and wife present at Coachella and how being a dad has reshaped his priorities.
"I just turned the stove off. And I was like, man, that’s not gonna be happening forever, you know. And honestly, eating can wait... I want to be where my feet are and be grounded right there." — Teddy Swims (12:34)
Being Present as a Parent (12:31–13:38):
Teddy discusses the conscious effort required to focus on the moment and not get distracted by devices or career stresses when spending time with his child.
Meeting His Wife & Support Systems (18:54–23:39):
Teddy recalls how he met his wife through a mutual friend, shared musical interests, and a “person of interest” (POI) story. The Brothers reflect on how real support in relationships outweighs playing it cool after a gig.
Funny Fan Stories (21:24–22:33):
Teddy and the Jonas Brothers riff on male fans’ hesitance to express admiration directly.
"Bro, I don’t know what it is about men sometimes too, where they’re just scared to like anything." — Teddy Swims (21:24)
Stigma Surrounding Boy Bands & Sports Fans (22:35–23:20):
The Brothers open up about being mocked at sporting events for being a “boy band,” despite being genuine sports fans themselves.
“Lose Control” in Bridgerton (23:45–24:39):
Both Teddy’s “Lose Control” and Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” are featured in different Bridgerton seasons. Teddy jokes about his song being used in an especially “steamy” scene.
"Well, they had sex during my song, so I think I won that one." — Teddy Swims (24:27)
Syncs & Song Placement Discomfort (25:30–26:28):
Teddy admits that hearing his song in a dramatic context (e.g. in a Man on Fire trailer) sometimes takes him out of the immersive experience.
Maintaining Health on Tour (37:06–40:29):
Teddy shares the importance of steam for vocal maintenance, boxing for cardio, and watching tour schedules to avoid voice strain.
