Kev, let us tell you about our trip. So we clocked in on vacation. I got here about. What was it five days ago? I came straight from New York. I was in New York doing a shoot with a friend of mine. You're hanging out with me and I stay at your place for one night. And I got here Priyanka and Malti and our parents were already here. So then I joined up. Joe got here a day after me

because I was shooting something in Los Angeles. I can't talk to you about it yet.

Ooh, we got top secret projects.

We did Priyanka's birthday. Wonderful day. The following day we watched Spain win the World cup and the city was going nuts to blaze. Three or four in the morning.

This went on all night. So the other thing about this place that we're in here in Spain, which. Shout out Spain. We love you.

It's fiesta season. They basically shoot off fireworks at 8am every morning. And then every night they're 8am I

They're testing. And then at night, like at 10 from. Pretty much from 10 till midnight, they're just going off.

I was flying home from the Hamptons. Me and Danny went and visited some friends and so very Chicago.

Tell us about the Hamptons, guys.

We had a little, all five minute flight.

We literally had a five minute flight. Actually. It was the perfect amount of time. It was 24 minutes. And I watched the end of the real time. Then I watched the rest of it, you know, in the car ride home.

What were we doing in the Hamptons?

[Kevin Jonas]

Visiting some friends. They invited us out, went to their beach house and it was very awesome.

[Joe Jonas]

Did you take a helicopter?

[Kevin Jonas]

I did not. We flew on a plane. And because I was not about to sit in five hours of traffic with the World cup traffic going on. It's crazy here. It like lits it New York is.

[Nick Jonas]

Oh.

Cause it was in.

[Nick Jonas]

It was in the great state of New Jersey. I met ladies.

[Kevin Jonas]

It was in the great city of New Jersey, not New York, but Joe. I went to Sunset beach, where you said we have to go when you were out in the Hamptons. And it was the most amount of rain on Shutter Island I've ever experienced, like ever. How much rain we got that night. The tent inside that place was dripping. But it became. Because you Were so, like, just drenched, it didn't matter. And dinner was awesome and the music was going.

But that's pretty trippy probably to experience that in the rainstorm.

[Kevin Jonas]

It was like kind of like giving widow's bay. It was giving horror film.

[Nick Jonas]

Speaking of horror films, have you guys watched Obsession yet?

[Joe Jonas]

No, I actually, by the way, I'm sorry, but I've been saving it as Tati and I. I'm a gif. We are waiting to watch it, but there's never an appropriate time to watch it. So I have it saved.

Can we save it for this? I've watched it flight because you guys, I don't know.

I watched quite a few movies, but Obsession is the movie of the year. When I say it, it's beyond its cultural reach. It is a fantastic film.

They go into the costume house at the lot. Remember, Paul Giamatti is like, the big bad guy. And it's one of my favorite scenes in the film. And then the other one is when he jumps into his pool and he comes out, he's all so blue. So we found the sign.

We have been going back and forth with our production team while on vacation and, you know, all the rest. Putting the show back together piece by piece. It's gonna be the OG set list. There's some special things, too that are new and some slight changes. A lot of conversation around the flips. If we're gonna be doing the flips. I will say that Joe and I have been. We've been.

Have you guys been working it out in the pool? Have you, like, been doing something?

We have something extra special, guys. I don't want to give anything away, but it's gonna be great. And then we take this 25 minute break, we come back out, and we do about an hour and a half of more music.

Low light was the delayed flight. Highlight was getting there and watching them, like, go on the water slides. Here's a video of Valentina jumping off a cliff. Like, they have. They're no fear.

It was nine. No, it was eight.

And then Mikey joined, by the way, great call. It's good To On a family vacay. An uncle showing up a little late

brings like a day in, two days in. Perfect. Yeah, it helps. It like, re. Reduces the energy. Went down to breakfast because I bring the girls down early because they're up. And I'm up because I was already at the gym because.

What time are we talking?

8, 45, 9 o'.

Clock.

Are you in the gym before that?

[Kevin Jonas]

Yeah.

On vacation.

On vacation, my body, like, wakes up.

I went locked in.

I set up breakfast for everyone. Where we've been having breakfast the last three days. Everybody else had a table outside and eating ahead of us without inviting us. Like, I invite everyone to meals and just.

[Nick Jonas]

I'm gonna say you're kind of hosting. That's. I was a little uncouth, as it were. That was the low light. Then you got heated?

[Joe Jonas]

Low light, Yeah, I got heated and

[Kevin Jonas]

then I couldn't get a drink for like three hours. For some reason. They just wouldn't come to check on us. And so then I was like. Then I was really drink.

[Joe Jonas]

Are we talking about I need an

[Kevin Jonas]

aperol spritz and couldn't get one.

[Joe Jonas]

Got it.

[Kevin Jonas]

So I started to rage and it became. And I just had to go for a walk.

[Joe Jonas]

I had a low lit. I went on a yacht trip.

[Kevin Jonas]

Wait a second. The fact that you just said I had a low life. I went on a yacht trip.

[Joe Jonas]

Well, it's part of the yacht trip. Had a low light, which was. It's kind of a. Both things, like a yacht trip.

[Kevin Jonas]

And you spend a lot of money for the bat lowlight, which is what

[Joe Jonas]

we did, I guess. Actually, I was a guest on the boat. So all jokes aside, I fell off a boat going onto a tender. It was pretty scary. Stepped a little early. Everyone said it was fine. And me and the first mate, we slipped between the two boats. It was pretty terrifying. And I think the adrenaline was going and there's the element of embarrassment. And I think I pulled myself up on the smaller boat and I hit my shin. But it was more just like terrifying. Like, in a moment like that, you're like. So many things could have gone bad. I mean, other than, like a bruised shin, like, everybody's fine. But it was definitely one of those moments. Like a. I want to call my kids right now. Like, that's the first. I just need to talk to them. And like, pretty shook for like, a while. But also makes it worse when people are like, you good?

Yeah.

Like, you're like, yeah, I'm fine. Even though, you know, you're not fine, but I'm like, I'm just trying to

tell myself I'm fine. Just let it go. It's good. Just move on.

That being said, the trip itself was. Was a lot of fun. Did some day clubbing, which was not something I do in my mid-30s, but that was fun. Like Nikki beach, which is like a restaurant club where, like, halfway through the, you're eating a little lasagna and it's like you just hear, like, crazy frog. And then it's just

like, I love that.

It's really fun and you have to lean into it and it's a good time. And also I was on the.

The trip when we, like, found out

that we sold out these shows.

So a few weeks ago during our Vegas residency, we had a sit down with the OG Band. John Taylor, Jack Lawless, Greg Grabowski. And we've been sitting on this gem of an episode now for weeks because we just had so many great guests that we just had to sit on it. But this conversation was really reflective and fun, and we got to walk down memory lane with some guys that were there from the very start of our journey.

A brief history of our relationship with these three guys. This goes back all the way to what year, Greg?

And I loved to hear John. Your first interaction with Nick, which has to do with his nails oh, yeah,

There's a conversation we had the other day about your toes being out because of the Havaianas.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

Yeah, like grown men in flip flops or something. Yeah, I get it.

I got paid for that, so shut up.

I rolled in for my audition at the church on Franklin Avenue in Wycoffin.

[Joe Jonas]

It was not an audition for the church. You might need to break that down a bit more.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

The audition was at the church, the Church of Jones. The church was an extension of the home. Your father was a pastor at the Wyckoff assembly of God. And I brought my sisters back up because my sister's very affable, likable. And I thought that that would make me look like a family man. And you guys were a family, so that was going to give me a leg up on getting beginning.

[Joe Jonas]

And the facts were you were a delinquent and.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

Yeah, I was a bit of a. A delinquent? Yes. A black sheep, if you will.

[Kevin Jonas]

We had no idea.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

We somehow ended up as the adult in the room for the first few years of this journey. But I met Nick first. I was walking around the church, and Nick emerged out of the woods, which I thought was kind of strange, like a feral child bounding out of the woods. And he came up to me and he gave me this very firm handshake, shook my hand.

[Nick Jonas]

Looks you right in the eyes.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

I'm Nick. It's very nice to meet you. I look forward to playing music with you today. And I was like, all right, man. He was 12, 12 years old. And he said. He looked down at his feet. He was wearing flip flops. And he said, excuse me, I have to go back home and trim my toenails. I'll be right back. And he disappeared back into the woods. And I was like, what? What was that?

[Kevin Jonas]

If ever being tested, this is the moment. It's like, okay, so manner.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

Yeah. This tiny man emerges from the woods. I think there was a graveyard back in the woods.

[Joe Jonas]

There was. Oh, my gosh.

We had a path through the woods that led from our backyard, the parsonage,

to the church, around another house. That's why it was cool.

[Nick Jonas]

And I specifically, I was wearing flip flops, which I never did and don't really to this day. And I was so appalled when I looked down at my own feet, at how long my toenails were. And I really am glad, though, that that's our first Interaction.

It was a good one.

[Joe Jonas]

It actually kind of was a precursor to your relationship.

[Nick Jonas]

Yeah.

Looking after each other's hygiene.

So, John, you audition for the band, you get the gig, and we start to assemble the rest of the pieces of the band. And one of those very important pieces was Greg Grabowski, who.

Which was only like, 20 minutes later after your audition, Greg came in. Were you wearing. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is my vision of you, Greg. You had a purple polo and cargo shorts.

[Nick Jonas]

Pink polo.

It was one of the Jonas Brothers. No, it was Nick. So I learned two songs on the spot. It was I Am what I Am and Time for Me to Fly. And then it was the second half of the audition. I kind of realized was seeing if we get along. So we went outside and just talked for a bit. And then Nick was like, chemistry. Chemistry exam.

Yeah.

[Joe Jonas]

Nick was throwing out chemistry.

Nick was like, do you have a girlfriend? I guess we were also like, you know, are you. Are you willing to.

[Joe Jonas]

Kind of weird. He's 12 years old.

Yeah.

[Greg Garbowski]

Willing to leave your house for years at a time and go on tour. And I said, no. And then I said, do you? And Nick was like, no. The label. The record label won't allow us to have girlfriends. I was like, whoa, are you serious? He was like, no. I got roasted.

That was good. That was good, right? Day one.

That's beautiful.

The real question should not have been, you know, do you have a girlfriend? Do you know how to travel, like, as an adult? Because we were all children.

I remember my first interaction with Jack. We were in Orlando, walking around downtown Orlando, because that's what someone does in Orlando.

Were we, like, going to Starbucks or something?

[Kevin Jonas]

We were going to Starbucks. And I asked you on this on the slide. I'm like, do you drink beer?

[John Lloyd Taylor]

Oh, yeah.

[Kevin Jonas]

And you went, didn't. I could see your face. Not sure how you should answer this, knowing that we were both under 21 and you're like, drink, responsibility, everyone. You looked at me and said, yeah. And I went, sweet. Me too.

But no one can know.

That was our interaction together. We were homies for life.

[Greg Garbowski]

Just going back to the Thanksgiving date pickup that we played a show in Pennsylvania the next day.

The next day in Pittsburgh.

Not on Thanksgiving.

Because that would be diabolical.

It was the four of you guys in one bedroom, if I recall correctly.

[Nick Jonas]

We had invested, you know, far more money into the band or our dad had than we had. And I'm sure it was probably a strange thing to get there and see the duality. Big word, sorry. Duality of this little house in Little Falls, New Jersey, and all of us kind of crammed into it and then this giant tour bus next to it. And that was sort of summed up

that chapter bus, Little Fall.

[John Lloyd Taylor]

The square footage probably was almost matte.

[Kevin Jonas]

Comparable, for sure.

That was a small house.

[Joe Jonas]

We had more room individually on that tour bus.

And now, you know, we should talk about how we all still work together. Jack, obviously, you're still playing with us every night. It's awesome. We love you.

Greg is the head of creative and helps us basically build out everything from AR for our music to song choice to mixes and all the things and just bigger creative conversations at a high level. And John Taylor is literally our agent.

What's your favorite part about script reading? Being an agent.

Working with you guys. That's my favorite part. About being an agent? No, but my favorite part about being an agent is I like to say the agency is a half a phone call away from anything. There's a lot of people in. That's good. In a building where if you need something from someone, you can get a hold of anyone at any time. I love that clip it and no idea is too big. You redo it.

I get there pretty early and just candidly, I do an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting from 8 to 9 on Zoom at my desk. I'll be great. I'm 15 years sober on Saturday birthday.

And so I get my mind right and then people start to come in around then between 8 and 9 and then we're off to the races. I spend a lot of time on the phone. That's not a meme. Agents are on the phone a lot.

I have coffee. I get pretty decent coffee. Not on your level. Not on our level.

I would stay there from time to time. I stayed on Alex Noises couch.

Like the fact you're in a band being paid as a musician and like living on being paid is being paid well. Yeah. Okay. Theoretically.

I have my, I've unpacked it with my therapist. There's like, I think so much was going on and I wanted to, like, I was fighting against the machine for so bad. Like being at that age where I felt like I was older and I should be like, able to go do whatever I want and be. I would theoretically be in college. That was my argument to my parents constantly. Your parents were the machine no, no, no. Like the Jonas Brothers thing where everything had to be. In my opinion, I had to live the same life as like a 21 year old that I was living a like a 16 year old's life. Hey, this is Kevin.
