We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created. As a member of Congress, I get to have a lot of really interesting people in the office, experts on what they're talking about. This is the podcast for insights into the issues. China, bioterrorism, Medicare for all, in depth discussions, breaking it down into simple terms. We hold. We hold. We hold these truths. We hold these truths. With Dan Crenshaw, the eagle has landed. Welcome to the situation report. This is SITREP 29. We're going to give you the most interesting news from last week. Arm you with the facts as usual. So let's talk Greenland. President Trump announced today, Wednesday that a framework for a future deal regarding Greenland has been agreed upon with the NATO Secretary General Mark Rut. In conjunction with that announcement, Trump said he's going to suspend the terrorists on the United Kingdom and seven other NATO allied countries that were set to take effect on February 1st. So this all happened while he was speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The president reiterated the US Interest in Greenland while making it clear that military force is not on the table. Look, the fact is Greenland is indeed a strategic terrain. It's not just a random curiosity. Sits at the crossroads of Arctic air and sea lanes and holds resources and critical minerals that are very important to American independence, like rare earth minerals that we need for our defense industry, for instance. Now, this is an area that China currently dominates. Can't let that happen. And by the way, one of those mines in Greenland China has a majority ownership of. So the importance of Greenland was flagged well back in 2019 when US intelligence assessments flagged it growing China and Russia interest and aggressive behavior in the Arctic expansion. Ignoring Greenland doesn't preserve stability. It invites competitors to shape the region instead. Also, we've bought land from the Danes before. Might remind everyone back in 1917. Actually, that's why you get to enjoy the US Virgin Islands. Remember, power vacuums don't stay empty. So if the United States doesn't define the Arctic's future, China and Russia will. NATO is stronger now. You're welcome. Europe again. In Iran, Iranians have taken to the streets and thousands have been killed, as you might imagine, as they fight for their freedom. Over the last two weeks, protests have raged across the country. Now, this is the largest and deadliest civil uprising Iran has seen since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Protesters are torching government buildings, fighting back against security forces and calling for the fall of the regime. This unrest began back in late December because of soaring prices and food shortages. But it escalated into a full blown anti regime revolt. We're thinking mass rallies across 31 provinces of Iran. Now, of course, the regime responded with brutality. Snipers fired into crowds. Armored vehicles rolled through cities. Security forces broke up peaceful protests with deadly force. Death toll estimates vary. Independent activists say the number is likely between 2,000 and 12,000. Videos smuggled out show morgues that are overwhelmed, bodies on the ground and civilians digging mass graves. After exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi publicly urged Iranians to continue protesting, the regime shut down nationwide Internet access in an effort to sever communication with the outside world. This is normally what happens there. And as that crackdown intensified, Iran shifted to blaming external enemies like us. Of course, regime officials accused the US And Israel of orchestrating the unrest. One spokesperson labeling President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu the killers of the Iranian people. Yeah, because we have that much influence over millions of people running through the streets. And of course we don't. It's the Iranians. They want freedom. And of course, Iran. The regime escalated further this week. Foreign minister issued the regime's most direct threat yet, warning Tehran would, quote, fire back with everything we have if attacked. They've done that before. It wasn't so bad. Now in response, US Military posture is shifting. American aircraft carrier group is moving toward the Middle east from Asia. Fighter jets and additional equipment reportedly repositioning in the region as well. This follows a major US Deployment in the Caribbean to blockade Venezuela and capture Nicolas Maduro. President Trump's response has been unapologetic. He's imposed a 25% tariff on any country doing business with the Iranian regiment and issued a clear message to protesters, keep fighting. Russia has lined up behind Tehran. Big surprise. Warning Washington to stay out of threatening catastrophic consequences. The United States intervened militarily. Worth reminding everyone, we already bombed the heck out of their nuclear facilities. So what are you going to do? Iran now. Let's move back home. Here the Supreme Court hears arguments for men and women's sports. So the Supreme Court. Supreme Court looks likely to uphold state laws that bar transgender girls, which means boys, from competing in female sports. Now, following oral arguments Tuesday in cases out of Idaho and West Virginia, the court's conservative majority signaled sympathy for the state's argument that separating teams by biological sex is a very legitimate policy choice, one that does not violate either the constitution or Title 9. Now, these laws define teams based on biological sex at birth. And at least five of the court's six conservative justices signaled they'd uphold the bans as constitutional and consistent with Title IX protections. For female athletes. The plaintiffs, which are two men convinced they're women and attempting to force their way into women's sports, argue the bans violate the Equal Protection Clause and Title IX protections against sex discrimination. Their legal teams contend that excluding transgender athletes is discriminatory. Okay, so states defending the bans argue they are protecting fair competition in women's sports and that athletic differences tied to biological sex justify the laws. Some justices ask probing questions about fairness, competitive integrity, and how far such protections should extend in a final decision is expected by early summer. It'll have nationwide implications, potentially affirming laws in up to 27 states that have enacted similar restrictions. There were some funny moments as well, notably watching the plaintiff lawyer practically vomit on themselves when asked a very simple question, which is to provide the definition of a woman. Look, I have a daughter. I know how I'd feel and I'd feel a lot safer if I didn't have to worry about her getting slide tackled by a 200 pound man when she goes out for high school soccer, assuming that's the sport she chooses. See, you can change your sport, but not your gender. Moving on here to Minnesota. Trump takes action and in other sanctuary cities. Trump has taken action against sanctuary cities and immigrants convicted of fraud. So he announced a pair of pretty strong immigration related moves last week, cutting off federal payments to sanctuary cities and declaring that the federal government will revoke the citizenship of naturalized migrants convicted of fraud. He said this administration will end federal payments to sanctuary cities and states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement policies, policies with those cuts set to begin February 1st. He argued the jurisdictions limiting cooperation with federal authorities, they're undermining immigration law and public safety. Said federal dollars should not subsidize policies that obstruct law enforcement. A separate announcement, he said they'll revoke U.S. citizenship from naturalized immigrants convicted of fraud. So this morning, President Trump issued a statement on social media saying he would invoke the Insurrection act if people in Minnesota continue to attack federal agents. President Trump said, quote, if corrupt politicians in Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the patriots of ice, I will institute the Insurrection act, which many presidents have done before me, end quote. This comes after continued Democrat opposition to President Trump's immigration reform agenda, including elected Democrats and left wing media who promote this anti ice, anti law and order rhetoric. And it's fueled unrest and violence in American cities. It's gotten people killed and gotten officers hurt. Now onto our weekly media bias. Maybe not so much media. But let's talk about the Golden Globes. If you, if you did watch them, I missed it, I guess. But you saw the full gamut of leftist causes on display. It's like they haven't learned anything. You know, guys like these things just aren't popular anymore. Stop ruining your own careers. Now, of course they disappoint on screen often enough, but they always disappoint at events like this with this sort of self righteous virtue signaling whether it was these pins they were wearing. They say be good, okay, whatever that means. And also a support to ICE obstructionists. Wanda Sykes transactivism was full on display on the podium. And of course there was Mark Ruffalo, who's just the most boring actor ever. And it's annoying that he's the Hulk, but he had full display of Trump derangement syndrome going on about ICE all the way to Venezuela. I don't know how you're defending Maduro in Venezuela, but he apparently is calling President Trump a war criminal and a pedophile. So gosh, that's odd coming from Hollywood. And look, there's a lot of leftists in charge in one place. And so you can imagine what happens in other developing headlines. The Clintons have defied the congressional subpoena. The House Oversight Committee has officially voted to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt of Congress. Funny, they've been in contempt of each other since like 1990, right? So the whole House will now vote to hold them in contempt. After the Clintons officially declined to testify in the House Oversight Committee's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, Clinton's attorneys claimed that the subpoenas are invalid, legally unenforceable, because they lack a valid legislative purpose, thereby raising a procedural dispute over congressional subpoena power. More to come on that, I'm sure. Let's talk about inflation. That's important to everyone. It has eased over the course of 2025. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its Consumer Price Index summary this week showing that inflation gradually slowed over the course of 2025, though still slightly above the Fed's 2% target rate as we enter 2026. In much better news than all of this, the second family is expecting their fourth child. Wow, they're lucky. Vice President J.D. vance and his wife Usha Vance said Tuesday that they were expecting a baby boy in late July. Congratulations to the second family. Now, if you read nothing else, check out my friend and former member of Congress, former Marine Mike Gallagher and his article in the Wall Street Journal, how DEI Caused a Military Recruitment Crisis. That's all for today, folks. Out.

Dan Crenshaw’s SITREP 29 is a briskly delivered, news-packed episode that covers pivotal developments in geopolitics, law, and culture from a conservative vantage point. Crenshaw analyzes events with characteristic bluntness, critiques perceived left-wing overreach in both government and entertainment, and highlights the implications of current policy debates for U.S. security and cultural integrity. The episode is equally informative and provocative, blending major headline news with personal commentary and memorable asides.
For further insights, Crenshaw recommends reading Mike Gallagher's op-ed on military recruitment and DEI in the Wall Street Journal.
