Greetings and welcome to House of R, a Ringer verse podcast on the Ringer Podcast Network. I'm Mallory Rubin, joining me today to tell me good shot, baby. It's Joanna Robinson.
Joanna Robinson
Mallory, what a day for our podcast for our listeners, a Disney trailer seemingly cut just for us. Thanks. Thanks. I needed it.
Mallory Rubin
The Mandalorian and Grogu is a movie that will hit the big screen on May 22, next year. 2025. And yet today, September 22, 2026, is when the movie comes out. 2025, when the trailer dropped. So here we are with a minute and 30 seconds of Mando Grogu teaser footage. Just a couple lines were uttered, but we got a lot of footage. We got a new poster. Delightful to have a new poster. We have a new tagline. So we had to do. We had to jump on. We had to do a trailer breakdown pod. I mean, we just. It's a must. It's an absolute must. Whenever. Sweet baby Grogu, we are each going to share today our five favorite things, the five highlights for each of us from the teaser trailer. Before we get to that, Joanna, very quick programming reminders. Not even Grogu can delay the Alien Earth finale pod. That is still on track. We will have the Alien Earth season one finale pod coming late tomorrow night. For folks after the finale, we have a very special guest on that episode, too. We have Rob Mahoney joining us as he has. And then we have another special guest as well.
Joanna Robinson
We do. It's. I'm just gonna say it. The interview is done. They can't take it from us now. It's Timothy Oliphant. Guys, Cobb Vanth himself is gonna be on the pod. I'm so excited. It's been over a thousand days since we last saw Cobb Vanth, but just a few since Mallory and I got the delightful experience of interviewing Timothy Oliphant about Alien Earth. No, sadly, no Cobb Vanth in this trailer, of course. Uh, but we did asked him about the return of Cobb Vanth. So there's a lengthy Cobb Vanth segment in our Alien Earth finale pod interview with Timothy Oliphant. It's gonna be, yeah, the best interview of my life. Honestly, pretty great. Thrilled beyond compare.
Mallory Rubin
So it was a, a, a, a true highlight for us both. And yeah, I think, you know, we always like to tease what's coming on the, on the pod front on the feed. But for Star wars fans listening to this trailer breakdown, like, you do have to tune in.
Joanna Robinson
It is.
Mallory Rubin
It is a requirement that you tune in to hear us discuss co with Cobb Vanth. I mean, it's a must.
Joanna Robinson
Cobb Vanth himself, He, he took us behind the scenes of his communications.
Mallory Rubin
Sure did.
Joanna Robinson
With Favs and Filoni about Cobb Vanth. So, yeah, very excited.
Mallory Rubin
Okay, spoiler warning for today's trailer breakdown. Could Cobb Vanth come up? I mean, it's entirely possible. Anytime we talk about Star wars or frankly, anything here in the house of R. Mandalorian seasons one through three, obviously that's all a fair game. Anything in the mando verse timeline, and frankly, anything that's ever happened in Star wars, it could come up today. You've been warned, Joanna. How could the people follow along?
Joanna Robinson
Oh, I'm so glad you asked me. Listen, why don't you follow the pod on. On the podcaster of your choice. Why don't you follow us on social. You can decide what social media platform you prefer to use. We're probably there. Email us hobbits and dragons gmail.com. a listener already emailed us a little sound clip of Good shot baby. So the bad babies are out in full force for. For Grogu and Mandalorian. That is what I would advise you to do. You can watch us on video, on YouTube, on Spotify, you know, or you can just listen to our dulcet tones. Whatever you prefer. Back to you in the studio.
Mallory Rubin
All right, let's get right to it. We're going to do a brief opening snapshot and then we are each going to share our five favorite things from the Mandalorian and Grogu teaser trailer. Let's get to the opening snapshot, Joanna. This will be when it hits theaters on May 22, 2026. The first star wars movie since the rise of Skywalker. In 26.
Joanna Robinson
It will be. It will be seven years when it hits. Yeah, it has been six years. It will have been seven years. That's bananas.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, and then we gonna like four.
Joanna Robinson
Years at the Ringer. But like, in the four years I've been here, we haven't had it. We haven't had a Star wars movie.
Mallory Rubin
We've had a lot of Star wars tv, but not a. Not a film. And we're gonna get this. And then we're. I mean, we're getting set photos of Gosling. Like, we're just gonna keep getting Star wars movies now that they have commenced again. So that's a fun thing for us. Mando and Grogu movie is of course directed by Jon Favreau, Jonny Favs, and it is written by Favreau and Dave Filoni. You can watch this movie in imax and I know that because it had a very prominent forge for imax. They're using the armorer language to tease that this will be coming to imax. The poster had that real, like, adventure Y vibe. Was thrilled to see my guy Zeb in the poster and very briefly in the trailer. Put a pin in that. I'll be returning to it the tagline. If you're searching for new adventure, this is the way. And the premise of this movie is that the New Republic has enlisted our wonderful dynamic duo, the Mandalorian Din Djarin and Grogu Din Grogu, lest anyone forget that that is his name. The season three Mando finale feels like it was 100 years ago. Dingrogo.
Joanna Robinson
It was 100 years ago.
Mallory Rubin
Thank you for a long time ago, enlisting them for help in hunting the Imperial Remnant of Warlords. And of course, this is, like, basically where we left our buddies at the end of season three. We had the, like, beautiful little ritual on Mandalore that I cried a lot while discussing with you, looked into your eyes on Zoom and wept. You must leave Mandalore and take your apprentice on his journeys, just as your teacher did for you. I've spent the last couple years saying, like, are we going to find Grogu's homeworld? What are we going to learn about his history and his people? No, just doing, like, a few episodes of the Mandalorian as a movie. That's very fair.
Joanna Robinson
That was my question, too. Is like, could you distinguish this between this and a trailer for another season of the Mandalorian? Is there any difference to you at all? Almost.
Mallory Rubin
Almost none, I think. Indistinguishable, at least to this point. Now maybe that will change as we get, like, full theatrical trailers, two and a half minutes. We hear more, we see more. But right now, this basically looks like a trailer for season four of the Mandalorian, which is coming to us in the form of a movie.
Joanna Robinson
And this is the slight danger of the Disney era of bringing all of your big screen superheroes and your Star wars characters to Disney on the One hand. We're like, yay. Things to talk about. We love. And some of those things are very good. And. Or we think of you always and then. But then also it, like, slightly diminishes the sort of like, this is Star wars on the big screen, especially when you're taking it from a show to a movie. So, like, did I like this trailer? Yes.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
And do I. Am I excited to see this movie with you clutching your hand while you weep into, I don't know, a grogu shaped popcorn bucket? Undeniably, absolutely. Do I have questions about the timing of the release of this trailer, given everything that's going on with Disney this week? I sure do. Yeah, we all do, I think. Yeah. But, like, you know, they're really leaning on the gas of, like, that sort of, as you mentioned, that adventure idea, the font, the logo font is different than not only the original for the TV show, but the. Even the one that they debuted August 2024. And it's just like whimsical, minty green warp and weft sort of like, you know, idea. And it's kind of going for Indiana Jones, but, like a little shinier, glossier. I was on the, like, font typeface subreddit because I was like, what do the typeface people think of this logo on the subreddit? They don't like it, but that's okay. But I like what it represents, which is like, they're like, we're just doing straight adventure. And I think that's really good. Coming off of a scene in the season of the Mandalorian that you and I felt kind of, kind of conflicted about. Because while Lore is interesting or trying to tie this to Bo Katan or a number of other things is sort of interesting. Dark Saber, it all got a little boggy in a way that, like, the first two seasons didn't feel for us. And so this feels like such a return to season one, which is just a lot of creatures that you might, like, recognize from, you know, Star wars games or whatever the case may be. We're bringing them to the screen. Hollow. Hollow. Chess is here. We're, you know, we're doing that. And it's. It's a boy and his father, and they're having adventures. That's. That's all we're doing. And so I think they're trying to just like, drill in on the best of what the Mandalorian can be and say, you know, for the kids, you love those Anzelians, right? For the kids. So which I'm not. I'm not opposed to it in my favorite. Is my favorite flavor. It's not my favorite flavor stars. My favorite flavor of Star wars right now is Andor. But. Andor sofa. And I'll just have to deal with that. But. But this knowing, really knowing what it is and drilling down into that and marketing that way, I think is smart and hopefully has like, kids of all ages who love Grogu. Excited to see Grogu switch swim or snack or whatever they. Whatever else you might do in a trailer.
Mallory Rubin
So, you know, boy, did he look precious bobbing in that water. Then I immediately became concerned because there are other creatures in the water that, you know, we'll be talking about more today.
Joanna Robinson
And I think they're.
Mallory Rubin
They're on a collision course. Yeah. I mean, I think obviously the hunt for Imperial Remnants is still. We are still in this. This aspect and era of the Mandoverse, where the mission to build a bridge to the rise of the First Order, the failures of the New Republic is, like, central and paramount in terms of the overall fleshing out of this stretch of the canonical timeline. There are, you know, Zeb is here. Rada the Hutt is here. Like, I don't. I don't think a Favs Filoni production is ever going to leave the. We want to connect this to a million other things and also help you understand how all of these things are connected Impulse behind. But I think there's a difference in the calibration. For sure. There's a different point. Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
There's difference between using a character. Like, we didn't mind how Z was used. It's not. It's not about, like a character. Characters showing up in Mandalorian. It's like lore or just sort of like story bogging and stuff like that. Versus, like, we've got this, you know, character over here and this character over here, and we've woven them into the story. But you don't need to. You don't need to have watched hopefully.
Mallory Rubin
Right.
Joanna Robinson
All of Rebels to understand why you should be excited that Zeb is here. You know, he's a fun character in his own Right.
Mallory Rubin
That's. Yeah. So he's knocking a bucket head to the ground in a hallway. And isn't that a delight? We have a new racer crest and it's moving with a quickness. We're exploding at. At like, I love the Indiana Jones comp. And now, of course, I will say we have a podcast to do. And you have distracted me by putting now a vision in my mind. Of Grogu and a tiny fedora. So I don't really know how you expect me to concentrate after that.
Joanna Robinson
But follow up questions. Are there like little, like slots for the ears to pop out or is it perched atop the ears?
Mallory Rubin
It's a great question. I would want his ears to be comfortable and uninhibited, so maybe we could let that be his choice, you know, for whatever felt right. But the fedora feels like a little more maybe appropriate. We spent so many pods talking about could he wear a little helmet now? I was going to wear a little helmet. Maybe it's just going to be a fedora at the end of the day. If anybody needs a very brief refresher before we dive into our trailer, highlights on where again, like where we left our dudes at the end of the season three finale. After that ritual, we had a little chat with Carson Teva and Din said, you don't have the resources to protect the Outer Rim, let alone hunt down Imperial remnants, and I need work. Right. And Carson said, you want to work for the New Republic? And did said on a case by case basis as an independent contractor. And then Din and Grogu went back to Navarro and they settled in at their darling little cabin and Grogu levitated frogs. And that was. That was a wrap on the season. So here we go. We have the like, take your apprentice on his journeys as your teacher did for you aspect of what it means for Grogu to be formally a foundling who became a Mandalorian apprentice and his training continuing. And also like, Din's like, I'm a bounty hunter by trade and I need some assignments here. You got any Imperial warlords who need hunting down? Child care?
Joanna Robinson
Child care. 8.
Mallory Rubin
She's pricey.
Joanna Robinson
I need some money.
Mallory Rubin
I mean, this kid snacks. It's bus snack budget. Press a button and unscrew a bauble. A steel ball. You know, you got to replace all sorts of parts in a ship. So there you go.
Joanna Robinson
I have a. I have an important question for you. This is a chance for House of Art to take a little victory lap. We're hunting down Imperial Remnants right across the galaxy here. Why not call Valencla? This is my question. I don't know how much this came into your life, Mallory, but like several weeks ago, for some reason, part of our interview with Tony Gilroy, where we floated one of our listeners ideas for a Vel and Claya spin off went viral. To the extent that a number of people in my life.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
Brought it to me, not knowing it had anything to do with my podcast. And I was like, yeah, that was from our podcast. Our listener wrote in with that. So shout out to the BHAD babies. They're forever brilliant. And people were really excited about that idea. So I think it should happen in our listeners should get a producer credit. That's what I think. Story by our listener, you know, who.
Mallory Rubin
Says, I. I think this is a great idea. When you said a few minutes ago, like, you just have to make your peace with the fact that andor's over. So the first thing I thought of. Do you. Why not bring it right on back? Why not? Why not? You know, I'm here for it. I think it would be wonderful. I think it'll be wonderful. Okay. They were not featured in the trailer. They were not featured in the trailer. And that's just true. Cobb Vanth was not featured in the trailer. And that's just true. You know, the absence of some other figures who we might have expected to glimpse at. How is IG11 doing in his martial duties on Navarro? I don't know. You know, we have a lot of discoveries that await in the future, but we got 90ish seconds of insights here. So should we get to it? Should we get to our four or five favorite things?
Joanna Robinson
Let's do it.
Mallory Rubin
Let's do it, baby. Joanna, we are each going to share. I don't know what's on your list. I feel like you know what's on my list. I don't know what's on your list. I don't know what is your number one headline, bold font, highlight it, underline it, put it in a Grogu green takeaway. Favorite thing from this trailer.
Joanna Robinson
We're going from like, most favorite to least favorite. Is that the idea?
Mallory Rubin
Normally, obviously, on this podcast, we count down to one. In this particular case. Spoiler. My first things about Grogu and I didn't feel I could wait till the end to talk about him.
Joanna Robinson
Okay, fair enough.
Mallory Rubin
But other than that, no real order.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, I'm just going to do my list. Here's my question. Tell me, what does at AT stand for?
Mallory Rubin
For answer. Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
All terrain Armored transport. So here's my question. All terrain. Not is it all terrain or is it not windy? Snowy path through the Alps. In the year 2018 BC, Hannibal and the Carthaginian army went over the Alps with 70,000 men, 20,000 horses and 37 elephants. And I believe that this is what they're trying to evoke here. And that thrilled me, the watching these atat lumber over the mountain pass when they should have gone through the minds of Moria obviously look amazing. And then. And then just to like watch one fall, like in terms of what makes this look like not a TV show.
Mallory Rubin
Yes.
Joanna Robinson
This was sort of the biggest special effect.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
And we haven't seen other. Yeah, we haven't seen other trailers, but at Celebration in Japan, I know that there was like a more extended version of the sequence was part of the trailer that they got to see there. I haven't seen that version yet. So I just got to see this. And like just watching it fall looked like this is. This is bigger than something filmed than the volume. So that's my. That's my number one is just sort of like the. At. At the ATAT falling off a cliff. Why were they taking ATAT's over a cliff in the first place? I don't know. Reminded me of your favorite Star wars movie, Solo A Star Wars Story.
Mallory Rubin
And hashtag makes it look great.
Joanna Robinson
I thought it looked great.
Mallory Rubin
I also thought this looked fantastic. I mean, I always have so many notes on the AD ats and I think the Empire and the Imperial Remnants should have had more notes too, given how susceptible and vulnerable they are. The necks, the legs, their knees simply joint. You can't take a machine of. Of that shape and form on a snowy mountain pass. It's. You just simply can't. Whether or not you intend to blow it up, you can't.
Joanna Robinson
You, unlike Hannibal, have ships that fly. So if you need to like carry equipment or troops over the mountain, you have big ships that you can do that in. I do not know why you would do it in. In an atat, except it looks great and I'm excited to see more. So.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, I wonder if that's like a path to a hidden outpost that our dudes are gonna disrupt and blow up that.
Joanna Robinson
So that reminds it to me. It looked like this is what opens the movie. Like Din and Grogu are on. Like we. We join them in the middle of, you know, a job that they're already doing and. And comedy ensues, things go wrong. But we. We win the day because, um. That's. That's. That was my. I don't. I don't think it'll be like big plot connected to that. I think it's just like a set piece that looks really cool. So that's.
Mallory Rubin
Listen, an ad at falling off the side of a mountain as Din and Grogu explode via jetpack out of the top hatch. I have no notes. It's an incredible Incredible thing. So on the like, is this a just kind of a big shiny open action piece or more centrally connected to the Imperial Remnant plot? I don't know if you have another area of your list today where you wanted to talk about this aspect, but one of the characters. We don't. There are very few people actually listed as cast for the movie. Right.
Joanna Robinson
And one of them cast right now. Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Which is wild. One of them is Johnny Coyne, who was in chapter 23 of the Mandalorian, the penultimate episode of season three, the Spies. We broke down this scene at length. The Shadow Council Hollow chat, or Gideon is. In essence, that scene amounted to Gideon being like Thrawn, who. We parted about that for many hours.
Joanna Robinson
We really did.
Mallory Rubin
We did. So his character is one of the Hollows in that chat. That's the time we've seen him before. So he is an Imperial Warlord. He's part of the Imperial Remnant, the part of the Shadow Council. He's there having a chat with our guy Hux, with our guy Pelly. He's in the mix. We don't know much about him.
Joanna Robinson
He's.
Mallory Rubin
Here's what he said in that scene. Easy for you to say, Captain. There's a fortune to be had plundering the hyperspace lanes. And then Pelli was called him Commander and was basically like, if you keep fucking around, they're going to find us. So that's like what we know about this guy. So the fact that he is one of the few characters who's listed as part of the cast for the movie, are they just obscuring like. Are they hiding a pending reveal about who the primary villains actually are? Who knows? But yeah. Are these his AT ats? Are they fucking up his day? Did he try to pull a hit and run and get caught by our dudes? Is he gonna lead them on a path of further discovery of like this larger Shadow Council connected web? I don't know. But I saw three at ATS and I thought, I look at the cast for this movie and that seems like a guy who could be responsible for that. We'll find out.
Joanna Robinson
It could. What I would really, what I would. What I would almost more like is enjoy is if like he's just like Grogu. Like, you know, like he has many schemes and plans. A very like Dr. Claw and Inspector Gadget. Sort of like just these. These two keep messing up all of his plans. Who are. Who are these people? You know what I mean?
Mallory Rubin
I love it. Are you hoping to see your guy Hux?
Joanna Robinson
Papa Huxley I love all hoxes.
Mallory Rubin
I know you do.
Joanna Robinson
Hashtag yes. All hoxes.
Mallory Rubin
You love my number one. This is where I will just be bundling together. Kroger being the sweetest little gumdrop in the galaxy. Joanna, they know their audience, and he did so many cute things in this trailer. Here are just a few of them that I really loved. Obviously, he was also in peril many times in the trailer, and that's distressing to me, but here are some of the most precious things he did. Seven seconds into the trailer, he's looking through a telescope behind a sand dune, and he's cooing and he's babbling, and I'm like, we're back. Grogu cooing, looking at. Through a telescope is that could be the entire movie. And I would be content. It's possible that that would be perfect, Mallory. So whatever the movie is actually going to be, I don't know.
Joanna Robinson
Mallory suggested this entire podcast just be that shot us breaking down the shot of. Of Grogs and the. And the. And the telescope.
Mallory Rubin
Okay. Oh, my God, they're darling. And I don't know if that sand dune is because the opening of the trailer is this new Razor Crest din is like, you know, an N1 starfighter. It's flashy, it's sexy. It's not really a family vehicle. You know, as we all said at the time, a new Razor Crest with some lovely, like, yellow axelwork flies over this beautiful ocean setting. We love an ocean vista here at House of Art. And it's like, okay, that's clearly Adelphi Base. That's a. That's a familiar location to us when they're looking at the sand dune. And then they. We see the telescope, and then we cut to an Imperial outpost. Are they. That felt like a fake out on the edit front. And that is somewhere else in the sand as a Delphi base.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Grogo can look through a telescope wherever he wants, though. He's so cute. So I thought that was just darling. Obviously, the single cutest thing that happens in the trailer, I think, pretty clearly is 25 seconds in when he uses the force to try to basically slide the bar nuts toward him during a meeting with Sigourney Weaver's character. We'll both talk about her elsewhere today. You've already mentioned the snack budget. Grogu loves a snack. This it is known. And for years now, it's been clear that Din and everybody else around Grogu is not doing a good enough job of giving him the calories.
Joanna Robinson
That he needs.
Mallory Rubin
He's a growing little boba and he gets tuckered out when he uses the Force. And when I saw Sigourney Weaver's character forever the bowl and pull it back, I was appalled.
Joanna Robinson
This is forever a disagreement we have. I think discipline I need. He needs some discipline. He's eating people's like babies. Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
And that's why you should let him eat the, like, Dorito bowl on the table. Because it's not the last in Frog lady and Frog Fellas egg line. This is an appropriate snack. Don't make him steal macaroons from other children at the school. Feed him.
Joanna Robinson
Remember when he. Remember when he went bleh and vomited macaroon goo?
Mallory Rubin
Just a great choice to make the macaroons blue so they really blue.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah. The best.
Mallory Rubin
Joanna, 42 seconds into the trailer, we got to see one of the. This is just this one. Just this one. He's so cute. We got to see Grogu do one of the things that brings him the most joy. Press buttons on a ship. He was pressing all the buttons. Seem to be.
Joanna Robinson
Didn't seem. Didn't seem to be stopping him or flustered by him. Usually he's like, don't touch that. Don't touch that. Don't touch that. Exactly.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
Has he learned how to operate the new razor crest? Does he know what buttons to push now? Or is he just indiscriminately or did in the new resurrect, did they build just a panel of buttons that don't do anything just so that Grogu could just, like, jam on some buttons and levers that won't get in the way of did trying to drive the car. You know what I mean?
Mallory Rubin
You have presented me with so many thrilling possibilities for what the future might hold. A panel of buttons that he can press without jeopardizing the mission or the flight. Brilliant idea. This is why you're the best.
Joanna Robinson
Unscrew any sort of, like, little bobble. You want to unscrew those. They do nothing. That whole panel, the shot shifts.
Mallory Rubin
And we do see that there's another little. A little silver bauble. Another steel ball on, like, the prindle there. So I assume. Assume he's still gonna unscrew it. And it will be a recurring bit that brings everybody a lot of joy. But I guess it's possible that he's matured beyond that. I mean, kids grow, their interests change. It doesn't seem like Grogu's interests have changed very much.
Joanna Robinson
But doesn't Seem like this kid has grown at all.
Mallory Rubin
But that's so the other possibility that you're presenting, that he knows how to operate the ship. I mean, do you think that there's a chance we're gonna get to see him fly the vehicle? I mean that would be unbelievable.
Joanna Robinson
How would he reach everything we do have?
Mallory Rubin
Could he use the Force?
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, the Force. Sorry, I just remembered the Force.
Mallory Rubin
I know he mostly uses it to bring snacks toward him, but he could.
Joanna Robinson
Use it to like something useful. We, we do see him use his little like wrist rocket. That, that didn't got him. And it's just loaded with like Nickelodeon era slime.
Mallory Rubin
We have graduated from the training, like more muted pastelli lime tones of the paintballs into full on slime. The fact that they chose a creature that just has one like really prominent eye for Grogu to wrist rocket blast with that slime dart. Absolutely brilliant touch. That is one of the closing shots of the trailer. That's at a minute 26. I thought that was absolutely magical. And that of course gives us the good shot, baby. Instantly fabled and iconic. Ansel in line. That was wonderful. And it was then fun to think back to the training at the. At the Mandalorian Covert the in chapter 20 when he's like kept looking up at Dan and was so nervous and Din was just like a dad playing catch. You could do it, buddy. That was lovely. A couple other things we see Grogu do. That's really cute. We see him bob in the water and then swim. And I was really nervous when he bobbed, but I thought he looked confident with his underwater strokes, I gotta say.
Joanna Robinson
So like Grogu mostly a physical puppet, sometimes a CGI creature.
Mallory Rubin
Yes.
Joanna Robinson
This looked really good. This looked like a puppet swimming to me and I thought it looked great. I really loved it. Very Nirvana album cover moment for our, our green baby.
Mallory Rubin
Dude, that's definitely what they're going for. No question. Now there are a lot of like watery stretches of the trailer. We see some wet caverns, we see some reflections of neon signage on a wet ground, etc. Elsewhere in the trailer we see an amanaman, which basically looks like, at least in this trailer, pointy, pointy tooth et kind of is like a little bit of the vibe. And, and that creature which you can see at the 41 second mark is in the water. So I am concerned. I am concerned. Also the creature, he dark slimes at the end is in a watery cavern. Is he, is he pursuing them? Are they pursuing him?
Joanna Robinson
I'm worried it's very Ninja Turtle. We're in the sewers. The, you know, the slime is bright green, like very late 80s, early 90s vibe. I will say the water that he's.
Mallory Rubin
Swimming in, if only a pizza to snack on, looked.
Joanna Robinson
Cowabunga. Looked very like bright blue chlorine, bleachy pool, Nirvana album cover. And less like murky, sewagey.
Mallory Rubin
Like the other water looked.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, yeah, like the other water looks.
Mallory Rubin
So you think here he's just going for a spa day?
Joanna Robinson
Maybe. I don't know why he doesn't have little. Little swim trunks, though. He's doing it in his clothing and it's not.
Mallory Rubin
Oh, man, I. Great stuff. Here's the. The last. I'll limit myself to one more precious thing Grogu did. This was historic. 54 seconds in, we see Grogu smack him at a Glad Gladiator match. He has a popcorn bucket. And I thought that this snack looked like Mentel Mix because this is what Omega and Wrecker routinely munch on in the bad batch. It's like, looks like popcorn, but it's multicolored. So that made me think, like, are they on? Is there a chance they're on org Mantel here. Is that like a location clue? Has Mantel Mix spread across the galaxy? I don't know.
Joanna Robinson
But the fact that can't stop commerce.
Mallory Rubin
You can't. And that. That brings me to my question for you, which is, what do you think Grogu's stance is on novelty popcorn buckets? And do you think they will go the meta direction of the popcorn bucket being Grogu eating a bucket of popcorn of mantel mix?
Joanna Robinson
Well, here's what I know for a fact. I know for a fact the reason that that shot exists is so that the Internet will make a gif of it and it will become a popcorn reaction gif to add to the so I'm very certain that's why that exists. Does it also exist to give them the opportunity to merchandise Grogu holding a popcorn as the popcorn bucket? I think they should do that. Does Grogu like a popcorn popcorn bucket? I would say yes. And Din Djarin buys him every single one. And they have an overstocked cupboard in their cabin. There's every time you open the door, just like popcorn buckets, novelty popcorn buckets rain down on you because couldn't be me, you know?
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, you have more than we have in common.
Joanna Robinson
You have like one. It's true.
Mallory Rubin
I. I couldn't allow myself to go down that road. I have too Much other merch, but just in general the merch front. You know, if anybody is listening and you're like, weird, why didn't you mention all the other cute things that Grogu did? It's because they'll come up in other categories. Joanna, what is next on your list?
Joanna Robinson
Sigourney Weaver's here. Sigourney Weaver's here. We've seen images. We've seen images of her in a sort of New Republic flight suit, orange. So we know that she will be wearing that at some point. Here she's in a khaki, like, army green, very reminiscent of an alien, you know, workman jumpsuit that she wears. We've just spent so much time in the alien verse with, you know, with Sigourney. So it's tremendous to see her here. What a. What a great casting opportunity. I'm really excited for, on a meta level, for the press tour to have her talk about Star wars because I was recently watching an interview where she was talking about how she is watching alien Earth at home, but. But that she's quite scared of it, so that she has to, like, watch it very carefully and at certain times. And I was like, sigourney Weaver, wow, is scared of alien Earth. I love that. I'm sure FX loved that. And so I want to hear what Star wars means to Sigourney Weaver, what it means to be part of the Star wars universe. I love her as sort of the leader of. It looks like the leader of Adelphi Outpost is sort of the idea. We had some back and forth before we started recording. We're not sure we know her character's name. It's listed in some places. The most legitimate seems to be Wikipedia, which is. Can be changed by anyone as Colonel Ward, but we're not sure that that's her character's name. So unnamed, but Bad Bitch in Charge it seems like. And that's an exciting place to be. Is every thing starring Sigourney Weaver is a bad bitch in charge. Good. No. I saw the Defenders, but I think Sigourney in Star. I think Sigourney in Star wars is going to be really fun and exciting and I think we're all lucky to see it. So, yeah, that's what.
Mallory Rubin
Love it. I had this one as one of my five as well. I had it at number four. Let's just combine them here as our second entry. That's, you know, I think like you said, it's just anytime we get to see Sigourney Weaver in A space opera, a space story. Like, that's just a fun thing. I'm curious, given that the conversation that we. We already recapped at the top of the pod that took place between Din and Carson in the finale seemed to indicate that they would kind of be the ones in communication with each other. If Sigourney Weaver's character has kind of like taken over managing the Din relationship, or if this is such a high profile mission that she needs to be.
Joanna Robinson
Involved, she's above she, it seems. And like, Carson Tiva is not on the list for this, right?
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, like, exactly.
Joanna Robinson
Is he even in the movie? We don't know. But she. Yeah, she seems to be like.
Mallory Rubin
Well, we get like a half.
Joanna Robinson
Blowing up a lot of.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, she's like, I heard you did good work for my guy. Carson, I got a assignment for you and it involves X, Y and Z. I just, I think it is brilliant to introduce her character with a Grogu snack moment. It is. And it's like a setting we know. You know, obviously you have the sigils on the wall and stuff to help place us, but, like, we can clock that bar now, that setting on Adelphi Base. So, like, we haven't heard her speak yet. Like you said, we may or may not know a character name. We have a lot to learn, but we're oriented really quickly with what her role in the story, at least in terms of her relationship with Din and Grogu is going to be. The fact that there are only five people listed in the cast and she's one of them, makes me wonder if she, like, has a bigger role in the movie than we might anticipate, or if every person other than basically Din and Grogu, and yes, I just referred to Grogu as a person has like three minutes of screen time and then it's just the two of them jetpacking around, razor cresting around.
Joanna Robinson
It's a great. It's a great question. I love having you here. It makes me think of like, you know, all we got and all we could have gotten with General Organa, you know, like that, that sort of energy. Um, but I don't know, I feel like it's going to be like a grief cargo level, like, here's your mission, go do it. Opportunity for Sigourney here. She's got high billing, but I think she has high billing because she's Sigourney fucking Weaver.
Mallory Rubin
Right.
Joanna Robinson
You know, so that's.
Mallory Rubin
And also because there's no one else to build because they're all puppets.
Joanna Robinson
Puppets.
Mallory Rubin
All the rest and droids.
Joanna Robinson
It's like that social media, like Prompt of like Pride and Prejudice, but everything's puppets except for one. One human actor. That's essentially what this is, except it's just Sigourney Weaver. And then it's like puppets, cgi and the people in helmets, so you never see their faces, you know, And I'm ready. I'm ready for it.
Mallory Rubin
I can't. I can't wait to sit there next to you clutching your arm. All right, what is third on your list?
Joanna Robinson
I'm gonna give it to the Anzellans. I.
Mallory Rubin
Ever since we're in lockstep here, that's next for me.
Joanna Robinson
Ever since Babu Frick showed up. I'm a huge Babu Frick fan. Actually. I have right here. This is a video podcast, right? I've got, like, always with me, my little, like, Grogu and Anzellin figure. So the Anzellans I love. Not everyone loves them. I love them. And they're all over this trailer.
Mallory Rubin
Who's like an Anzelen?
Joanna Robinson
Plenty of people.
Mallory Rubin
Oh, my God.
Joanna Robinson
It's true. I love them. I love Babu Frick. I love the Anzellans I love. They're on the poster. They're all over this trailer. Like, it's just. It's going to be an enzyle and heavy sort of time. It does seem, though, based on the stretch, that, like, Grogu and Din will be separated for some section of this movie. And as Grogu is separated, instead of just him waddling and cooing by himself around, it's him with the Anzellans doing Gremlin y adventure stuff. So I'm excited for that personally.
Mallory Rubin
The Anzellans are next on my list as well.
Joanna Robinson
As.
Mallory Rubin
You know, it pains me to think of Rise of Skywalker, but when I think of Rise of Skywalker, I also like to think of Baba Frick. And I had a great time with Boba Frick in that film. You know, it was such a joy to have other Anzellan characters enter the mandoverse. And I'm curious because, I mean, obviously, like, dude, they gave our listeners their name. I mean, Bhad Bhab no Squeezy was the gift of an Anzellin on Navarro as one of the many times that we were working on some IG11 repair, and then obviously the scrap and the parts necessary to rebuild brought back to Navarro. The Anzellans restore ig. We learned that IG is gonna be the marshal on Navarro, so. And then Dan and Grogu, we know from the end of the season, have that little cabin, that whole base. Are those like the same Anzellians who have interacted with them before? We think we're going to be in Navarro at some point, kind of.
Joanna Robinson
Navarro, yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Pick them up for how. How do they end up involved in the shenanigans that are going to raise it on Navarro for some stretch of it. Yeah. I mean, I would love it.
Joanna Robinson
Of Navarro.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah. You know, I would love it if it seems like we will spend at least a little time on Navarro. I would love it if they somehow were like, we're in the Razor Crest. Oh, you needed a repair. Then we had to take off. We're going with you somewhere. I mean, that would just be such a treat. But even if it's limited to just the Nevarro stretch of the movie, should there be one, I think that would be a delight. You mentioned that the popcorn bucket, the mantel mix shot is there basically just to create a new gift for the Internet. I will pass it to you now that nothing. It's a long list of. This is here to sell merch, especially in Star Wars. I don't know that anything has ever screamed through our screens. This is here so that you buy this merch when we inevitably release it as a Funko Pop, a Lego set, a figurine. But the shot 49 seconds in, of the three Anzellins and Grogu riding in a speeder is the most. Just wait till you get to buy this and put this on your shelves. Shot that I have seen.
Joanna Robinson
They put it on the poster. They're. They're ready for you to get excited. I also think the. The wrist rocket with the. With the bright green gak should be available.
Mallory Rubin
Great.
Joanna Robinson
Shit. Christmas 2026.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah, the Anzellians, like you noted, are down in the sewers with Grogu too. They're down in those like dank, dark, wet, cavernous spaces. So yeah, it's a. It's a very. It's a very Anzellin forward trailer. And I thought that was frankly, Del on the little speeder shot. They're passing in front of like a kind of like red rocky terrain on the horizon. I mean, that could be Navarro. Navarro is a rocky place. I thought it looked like Quill's old planet Arvala. I don't know why they would be there, but maybe could it be Ord Mantel? The plenty of places that that could be. So I'm hoping now, I'm stating it now for the rest of The Colorado could be Colorado, could be Utah. I hope that the antelopes get in the ship and go on the journey with them. We'll see what is next on your list.
Joanna Robinson
I'm going to Zag because I was going to do Ocean Vista, but we've already talked about it. Elfie Outpost enough. But I do love. I mean, in terms of. Is this trailer for me, Ocean Vista shot very much for me, but I will zag and say bar fight. Also for me, the shot of Din just like high kicking someone into a glass wall of bottles. Really great stuff. You know, Pedro Pascal. Pedro Pascal. Not even anywhere near set that day. That is for the stud team of the Mandalorian. But like this, the. When they give Mando and his various, like, you know, whistling birds or whatever else it is that he has, like a time to shine inside of a close quarters fight. Like, it's really good stuff. And so I. I'm excited for fight choreography, I guess what I'm saying.
Mallory Rubin
Hell yeah. I loved that moment too, because. Well, I mean, obviously one of the reasons is because after the kick in the liquor bottle smash, Kroger just shoots into frame and jumps up to Din's back.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Oh, my God, I love a Yoda backpack. I love a Grogu backpack. Always gets me. That's great. But I feel like this takes us back to kind of our origin moments with Din as a character and with Mando as a show in a universe. You know, I'm like, waiting for him in the trailer. Maybe this will actually happen in the movie. But I'm like, oh, my God, is he gonna say, I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold? Like, it takes us right back to that opening stretch in such a fun. A fun little way. So, yeah, that's a great call. That looked like expensive liquor, that Brooke. I mean, the tab on that is, I think, gonna be steep.
Joanna Robinson
That looks like the alcohol you would serve on the train where Loki and Sylvie talked about being the same, but also wanting to have sex with each other. Okay.
Mallory Rubin
I mean, very memorable episode of television, episode three, season one. That was a beautiful episode. God, I loved that.
Joanna Robinson
Oh, man. A different time on Disney. A different time.

Mallory Rubin
My next one. What do you got? Is a two for. It's Animated Legends in live action. And this is where I will talk about Zeb for another second. And then Rada the Hut. Would anyone call Rod of the Hut an animated icon? That's for you to decide. But we're going to do that here today. So Zeb, like, a true blink and you'll miss it. Trailer appearance. He's at the 47 second mark now. If you have watched Star Wars Rebels, you're like, I would recognize that bow rifle with its signature purple crackles at the ends anywhere. Or Zeb is always putting his feet on main. I would recognize those toes anywhere. Right.
Joanna Robinson
And it's the, like, all this for free aspect of. It's his signature myth.
Mallory Rubin
So that was just really fun. Again, the fact that he's in the trailer makes me, like, really, perhaps foolishly, but really hopeful that he'll have, like, a role to play in the movie. A roll of cosmic, maybe not significantly.
Joanna Robinson
On the poster, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mallory Rubin
So that's exciting. I love Zeb. We talked about this a lot when we covered his brief appearance in the Mandalorian. But, like, Zeb is one of the, you know, main characters in Rebels. For people who didn't watch Rebel Specter for he's Lassan Lasat from Lasan, member of the honor guard. Every time we see Zeb, we're like, when will we get an update on Callous? That was also my reaction to seeing Zeb in the poster and in the trailer. But the, like, kick, jump, move off the wall to absolutely eviscerate what he would call a buckethead.
Joanna Robinson
Right.
Mallory Rubin
A stormtrooper. And then you get like, a brief little glimpse of just a pile of stormtroopers right behind that dude that he's beating up. And it's like, right. He has made his way with ease and with a quickness through this group of buffoons. So I just can't wait to see Zeb. I love Zeb. I've always loved Zeb, and I'm thrilled that he's going to be back in our lives. A character that, I have to say quite, quite candidly, I never thought would be back in our lives is Rad of the Hutt, who has, like, jacked.
Joanna Robinson
Extremely jacked Rada the Hutt.
Mallory Rubin
An incredible, like, look at these guns moment in the trailer.
Joanna Robinson
GLA gladiatorial sort of arena, seemingly. This is a. This is sort of like Gladiator Games.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah.
Joanna Robinson
Pedro was like, I didn't do all this training for Gladiator just to, like, waste it on a role where I was not well used. And he's like, put me in coach. Except I won't be there because I have nothing to do with the stunt team.
Mallory Rubin
But, like, I'll say some lines. I'll say some lines.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, he's a voiceover. Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
One of the, like, hollow chess creatures who's in that same arena. We see Dan, like, riding him in a couple shots. So we'll he be. We also see, of course, Dan and Grogu in the stands. Like, we see these shots of 51 seconds in, like, the raucous screaming crowds. We get to see Rada at 52 seconds. He's working the crowd. He's like, look at me. I'm the best. Cheer for me. Love me. And then we see Din. So it's like, does he have to intervene? Does he challenge Rada? Like, what is that relationship? We obviously don't know. Rad of the Hut was a formative part of the Star wars, the Clone wars experience. He's in the movie. We do not need to get into the details. Formative. All you need to know is that he's a big part of the early Ahsoka Anakin relationship. And so he is actually, I think, like, embedded in people's memories for. For that reason, nicknamed Stinky because he reeks. And that's just true. And we should say it. We should get it on the record.
Joanna Robinson
Do you think he hit the gym and. And was. Has just been like, downing the creatine, all this sort of stuff like that, to try to get a new nickname? He's trying to get away from Stinky and he's like, call me Muscles, call me Swole.
Mallory Rubin
I think that's probably it. Here's my question in turn to you. What do you think is more likely that Jeremy Allen White is nominated for an Oscar for portraying Rad of the Hut or Bruce Springsteen?
Joanna Robinson
Bruce Springsteen, Great question.
Mallory Rubin
Could he be nominated for both?
Joanna Robinson
I don't. I like one year after another, really. I think. I think eligibility wise, it will be a back to back, you know, very like Tom Hanks back to back. What a actor Oscar win for. For Jeremy Ellen White. I will say this. I'm excited for you that Rad of the Hutt is here. I'm excited for all of the bear heads that Jeremy Ellen White is voicing a character in Star wars, all this sort of stuff like that.
Mallory Rubin
This wouldn't be my favorite choice.
Joanna Robinson
No, no. This is just my least favorite shot of the trip. Like, I'M hoping that is not a finished rendering on that character, because I think we can do a little better visually.
Mallory Rubin
You know, I thought the arms muscly and I, you know, I'll withhold listening. Yeah, they were listening. We'll see. We'll see what the. I'm curious to see what the face looks like and just in general, what his role is in the story. Because, like, there's another shot where we see DIN Blasters out is attacking like, a vault charging a vault. 57 seconds in, there are the, like, you know, equally swole, gigantic security droids guarding the vault. And that vault has the Hutt clan sigil on it. I was forced to reflect on the fact that we had two Hutt characters in the Book of Boba Fett. We had the twins in that show, which. It was a journey for me today to remember that. Think back on that. But that was the whole, like, okay, there's a power vacuum now that Jabba is gone. And the twins, like, challenging Boba for control of Tatooine. And then they were like, peace out. We learned all of these other things are afoot. Are you thinking there are two huts on the poster?
Joanna Robinson
Like, you think Favreau and Filoni are gonna make you make people remember Book of Boba Fett in order to understand what's happening in their Mandalorian Grogu movie?
Mallory Rubin
I don't think that would be.
Joanna Robinson
I think it would behoove them. I think it would behoove them a la what, like, Marvel has been doing to try to just sort of, like, make it so you don't feel like you have to do a ton of homework to understand this.
Mallory Rubin
I agree. However, I. Look at the poster. Look at the bottom left corner of the poster. Are those not the twins? I mean, it could be Radha and a romantic partner or a very close.
Joanna Robinson
Friend, but neither of those seem like they're Radha, because I don't see any guns.
Mallory Rubin
They don't see jack. They don't seem jacked. Yeah. So I'm like, okay, Rada's in it. And then if the twins are in it, you start to wonder how much of this is going to be about, like, the syndicates and the Hutt clan and crime families and control.
Joanna Robinson
Zero, I hope. Zero. I hope they're just part of, like, a mission. I hope they're just part of a mission. Uncouple, unshackle from larger lore and just give us, like, really simple Grogu and Din. Blow up some at ADATs, fight some monsters, hang out with The Zelens, like, do that. That's all you need to do. You know what I mean? If you start saying, like, well, in the, you know, and we love lore. We do.
Mallory Rubin
Oh, yeah.
Joanna Robinson
But the fandom, the Star wars fandom is struggling right now, like, really struggling. And I just think they need something as simple as can be, which it feels like this is what the prompt for this movie is. But. But if you're right and people are going to need to know all the lore about the twins, they can go re. Listen to our book of Boba Fett episodes because we did spend hours talking about this. So, you know, not for nothing hours.
Mallory Rubin
Remember Mos Vespa? That was. That was a time.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah, it was. That was a time.
Mallory Rubin
What is next on your list, my darling?
Joanna Robinson
This is my last.
Mallory Rubin
Yes.
Joanna Robinson
And I guess. I guess I will just use it. We've already talked about a lot of this, but I will just say, like, creatures. You know what I mean? Like the mentellion Sav Rip is the. Is the creature we've mentioned a couple times that's featured on the Holochest, the Dejaric board. And that's just like, really fun. And that's just something that Favreau and Filoni have always done with the Mandalorian, is just sort of pluck these various critters that you have seen either in the background somewhere or something like that and brought them in as. As bigger characters. And so that's. I. I think it's actually quite fun. It feeds into, you know, something Favreau has always loved to do, you know, through his, like, live action Disney animation movies and stuff like that. It's just sort of like creatures and CG rendering and all that sort of stuff. So, yeah, I'm hopeful they keep it simple, stupid. For the people who just like, don't want to do hours of homework and can just come and enjoy grogu cooing and babbling and all this sort of stuff like that. But for the, for the deep fried nerds, for the Mallory Rubens who are recently awarded a nerd plaque by no less than. No Holly, like, give them a, like, give them an opportunity to do the Leo pointing meme and just say, like, that's a hollow chest animal like critter. Like, that's what that is. So I think there's. There's a way to give both to. To if you know the largest significance of this creature, that's great. But then if you go in and you're just like, that's a Cool looking creature. That's great too. And you can enjoy the movie. And that's what I hope this movie is. Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Sprinkle in an ocean vista or two, you got a film.
Joanna Robinson
I mean a cinema. Cinema, cinema.
Mallory Rubin
My final one we've, we've covered a good amount of already as well is just like the action, you know the action and that spirit of adventure. But also like you talked about, you know, the at. At sequence. I was like, this looks like a movie set piece and that's fun and that's exciting.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
I thought that what we glimpsed of the new Razor Crest so far was pretty fun, pretty exciting. We get some stretches where there's like a dog, a little glimpse of a dogfight, you know, some, some moments in pursuit, the bar fight that you mentioned, all of the water bound cavern bound critter encounters. Like it just does seem. And to the, to the kind of opening note, is this really just season four of the Mandalorian inside of the movie? I mean if you kind of like math it out. Many, not all, some of the episodes are longer, but many episodes of the Mandalorian are like 30 minutes. You know, I wonder how.
Joanna Robinson
Yeah.
Mallory Rubin
Like is it possible that it will actually feel like, okay, this would have been episode one, this adventure and then this would have been episode two. Like in terms of how the acts of the film are broken down, I don't know, it'd be really interesting.
Joanna Robinson
And then you know.
Mallory Rubin
Yeah. The gladiator stretches, the attack on the hut vault. The jetpack sequences all looked really cool and fun. You know, we've got like, we're flying out of at. At into ships where like a presumably a friend and an ally is opening the door just in time for our pals to escape.
Joanna Robinson
It was a. And it's, it's Cobb Vanth, wasn't it? It was Cobb Vanth who did that, don't you think? No.
Mallory Rubin
Do you think that the bacta tank would fit in a ship? Probably.
Joanna Robinson
He has to be out of the bacta tank at this point. Well, I mean a man can only bach us so long. Do you know what I mean?
Mallory Rubin
So dare to dream. Okay, final thoughts. Anything else you'd like to add? It's.
Joanna Robinson
It's been really interesting to see the reactions to this trailer because on the, on the subreddit, on the, the movie subreddit, every comment was negative. And then on the Star wars subreddit every comment was positive. So like the diehards are in and they're excited.
Mallory Rubin
Interesting.
Joanna Robinson
And then we have to convince the Larger movie going audience. Yeah. You want, you want. This is we're seeing on the big screen. Used to watching these, these characters at home. But you're going to want to go to the theaters to see it. So I just like it. I think it just needs to be fun and, and spectacular in that way that makes it feel like worth, you know, bringing your kids to the movie theater for and stuff like that. So Star wars is a really interesting time and we love talking about Star wars and we really want Star wars to be great. And so I hope this is great and ushers in a new era of really fun. Nothing to fucking do with Skywalker's movies. I think that could be really a good time for us. Yeah. How about you, Mallory?
Mallory Rubin
I don't want my reaction when I see the movie to be the new sound that Grogu emitted when Sigourney Weaver's character stopped him from taking the snap the snack. I want the thing that comes out of my mouth to be the impressive one of the two lines of the trailer. Like, you know, will it be because we look at a muscly hut or will it be because the movie's fun and good? Who knows? And I am just so curious to see like where these characters go from here. You know, do we go from this movie to another season of tv? Are we like sprinkling them into other stories after this? But we are no longer making the Mandalorian. Here is an eight episode new season of television. Like I, I have. I've obviously have no clue what awaits on that front. So I'm curious to see how like even given all of the Imperial Remnant connections and possibly clan crime syndicate connections, like, I'm curious to see how self contained this feels like is Admiral Thrawn, Grand Admiral Thrawn coming in in a Stinger, you know, how connected is this to whatever the larger pursuits are for this stretch of the timeline still, because we, like you said, we weren't getting that vibe such.
Joanna Robinson
I think that would be such a bummer if, if Thrawn comes in at the end here and it doesn't.
Mallory Rubin
Honestly, from the trailer to your, to your point, from the beginning of the the pod, the trailer's not giving us that impression, at least not yet. But I would not be surprised.
Joanna Robinson
There's a whole.
Mallory Rubin
Certainly if we trend in that direction.
Joanna Robinson
There'S a whole second season of Ahsoka like that's being shot right now. There's so much room for Thrawn. I really think this should just be like it is what it is.
Mallory Rubin
But wearing my SOCA girl shirt today just for this. I don't know why I bother to wear relevant T shirts when they're not visible. Maybe that's something I'll work on.
Joanna Robinson
When the camera angle. It's just. It's a spirit of it. It's true of it.
Mallory Rubin
It's true. It is. We did it. We talked about this trailer. We're gonna talk. Baby, those little wrist darts, they're great. We will be back tomorrow night to talk about the Alien Earth finale with Rob Mahoney and Timothy Oliphant. Not sure. And then we'll either be back a few days after that to do more podcasts, or we will both retire. It's a discussion.
Joanna Robinson
We're.
Mallory Rubin
We're talking through our options, thinking about it.
Joanna Robinson
Go out on top.
Mallory Rubin
I mean, you know, are we going to be able to replicate the high of that experience? I don't know. This was a pop up pod. We had no idea this trailer was coming today. And so we have to thank some of the folks who joined us to help make this episode happen. Thank you to Isaiah Blakely and Kristen Thomas for jumping on the zoom to record this pod with us and produce this episode. We appreciate it. Thank you as always to Arjuna Ramka Powell, who loves Star Wars. He was like, I'll be there today. Yeah, he loves Star Wars. You know, he didn't say the second part, but it was implied. And thank you, of course, as well to Jomia Denaron for his work on the Social for this episode. Joanna, I will see you tomorrow for Alien Earth.
Joanna Robinson
Exciting. Bye.

“We really want Star Wars to be great. And so I hope this is great and ushers in a new era... of really fun, nothing-to-do-with-Skywalkers movies.” – Joanna (56:00)
Next Up: House of R returns for Alien Earth finale pod, featuring special guests Rob Mahoney and Timothy Olyphant (Cobb Vanth himself!) (02:23).
