Hoving is the music project of Thomas Kiefer, who is based in Stuttgart, Germany. His work tries to blend ethereal ambient and driving guitar based post-rock into a unique sonic tapestry. Since 2019, He has played numerous live performances and collaborated across genres with other artists, musicians, filmmakers, and producers.

However, it is not bound to the genre's tropes: It slowly and gradually crescendos, layer by layer, from an ambient soundscape and electric beats into a full blown almost shoegazy sound with overdriven guitar and drums. That's where I sat down with a Teenage Engineering OP-1 and a Hokema Kalimba and started recording the waves washing up against the shore. I added a somber but relaxing Kalimba melody and finished the track up with synth lines and beats.
