The populist nationalist candidate for president, Colin Georgescu has been arrested by Romanian authorities there on on charges that seem incredibly spurious. Again, this was the presidential election that was overturned by the Romanian Supreme Court. This is what JD Vance warned us about. This is what. He went to that Munich conference and the heads, the storied heads of Europe, and he said, you are the ones that are not upholding European traditional values. You are the ones that are actually standing up against democracy. And if you're going to around the world saying that you are the one or you are the moral arbiters of democracy, then you need to uphold those ideals at home. And instead you're jailing people and you're overturning elections in Romania. Well, the leading candidate in Romania was just arrested. And we certainly, we saw that here in the United States last year, in 2024. I want to go live now to Romania. We've got George Simeon, the president for the alliance for the Union of Romanians. George, I just saw you at cpac. I had no idea this would be going on. Give us all the latest. I understand that you are in a. In a chaotic situation there.

Yeah, we have an ongoing coup d'etat happening here in Bucharest. Thanks a lot for reporting about this. I'm going from police station to police station. They take people off the streets so that everybody knows who I am. I'm the police leader of the most important conservative political party in Romania, second largest party. After the results of the parliamentary elections, we supported Mr. Kalin Giorgescu, who was arrested today. He was coming to our headquarters to Aur Party. You visited us last year at the Make Europe Great again eventually. So we were completing the file for him for a new candidacy for the president of Romania. And he was stopped in traffic and police officers and prosecutors took him, took Mr. Kalin Giorgescu to the General Prosecutor's office, where he got, in the end one hour ago, he got judicial control and he is now not allowed to speak on social networks and not allowed to give interviews. It's quite a dictatorship here since the annulment of the presidential elections, the second round on 6 December. So he was coming towards us. Then we received a message from Mr. Kalin that he is arrested and he's going to the prosecutor's office. Now we have news from Romanian cnn, which is the same as CNN in America is run by globalists that more and more people are arrested from the campaign team of Mr. Georgescu. This happened to me, actually, also in June. They arrested us three days before the European elections for the European Parliament. Because Romania is quite an important country. We have 33 members of the European Parliament. So they were scared of the result. Now they are scared of the result of the presidential race. You were to Romania, Jack, last year. You know, we are a civilized country. We are a country inside of eu. So we are not a banana republic or we don't have a military junta which is taking over power. We just have the globalists who don't want peaceful transition like, like in 2020 in, in America. They cling to power and they use all the institution in order not to lose control of the state institutions here in Bucharest.

Well, and for folks. And that's right, we were there last year. Myself Tanya Tay, traveling for the make your parade again conference. My first time to Romania, I found it to be a lovely country. We enjoyed Bucharest very much. But also Romania, of course. And for the listeners who don't know that Romania is a key member of the NATO alliance and actually the leverage with NATO is huge. This is, this is where the 101st air airborne. So US troops are on the ground in Romania. The 101st airborne are currently there. You've got the multinational corps Southeast NATO Force Integration Unit. The, the. The military base. It's a huge, huge base for NATO.

NATO, yes, yes. Six American bases here in Romania. So yes, it is quite important. We Aur Party are the most important supporter of maintaining, maintaining NATO and maintaining the strategic partnership with the U.S. i'm also vice president of the European party called ECR, European Conservatives and Reformists, which is the most pro transatlantic party. We are in favor in keeping the good, the special relations between EU and the U.S. now there are the globalists and the Soros network who are trying to prevent Europe taking the turn and that was taken in the States. And they are trying to stop what has become the mega movement from the MAGA movement of President Trump to make Europe great again. The mega movement we are trying to implement in all 27 countries of the European Union. So we have repeated elections, presidential elections in Romania in May, and we are supposed to have free election and to return back to democracy in the same time as the Polish elections in the month of May will be very, very important for the patriotic forces, for the sovereignist forces here. But hopefully we will remain free and we will not be in jail until now because they are simply creating fake evidences against Kalin Georges school and against us as the main opposition party.

This is what people need to understand. And for folks, we have a couple of minutes left. George, why was it that Traujescu won the first round of the presidential election? Why was this overturned by the Supreme Court?

It wasn't actually the Supreme Court, because the Supreme Court is made up of judges. We have some sort of constitutional court here in Romania formed out of politicians, members named by the former president who we managed to sack last week. He resigned. So they are basically politicians who decided without any evidence, without any shred of proof that the elections will be annulled because the normal result and what we were expecting was that Kalin Georges, who would have won fair and square the second round of elections against a globalist candidate, so they didn't like the result, so they annulled the elections. Fair enough. No, it's crazy. We wouldn't have considered this idea. But they are desperate and they are clinging on to power.

Oh, this is. This is absolutely undemocratic. This is not the way the system is supposed to work. This is not the idea or the ideals and values that people are supposed to be talking about. Look, Romania, of course, having been under the Iron Curtain, suffered so much during the Cold War, suffered so much during the communist times. To regain the freedom after the fall of the Soviet Union, the fall of the communists, now to only be turned to the post communist order. Look, this, this is not freedom. And the people of Romania are standing up. George, can we, can we hold you over? We have another break. Can you do one more segment with us?

I think if Romania fails, then they will win over Poland and they will win all other elections in Europe and they will try to make an enemy out of the European Union, enemy of the Trump administration and an enemy of the United States. The globalists have their last reduced. Their last powers are in Europe, so they are clinging to power so they won't let the Romanian people vote and express democratically their will. This is why we are fighting. This is why we are trying to put pressure on the government. We have on Friday non confidence motion, a motion of censor of the socialist prime minister who is a corrupt, greedy politician like many democrats in the, in the states. So we are, we are fighting, but we cannot fight alone. We need international support. We will have Saturday a big rally, a big demonstration March involving about 1 million Romanians will march for democracy and we will have support from other European countries. Like I told you, we support the special relations with the United States and with the Trump administration. We are also Trumpist party, so they are trying to block us. And we really need your help in order to restore constitutional order and democracy in our country.

And so a lot of people are asking, why are the globalists so focused on Romania? Look, J.D. vance is talking about it in Munich. J.D. vance again brought it up in CPAC and his remarks there and that. And then we saw the arrest of. So we've seen the arrest of Callan Georgescu this very morning, his detention raids on his supporters, as well as the overturning of his presidential election just a couple of weeks ago. But why Romania? Why does Romania matter so much? Well, someone who is an expert on this and all things USAID and all things globalism joined us. Now it is the great, the great Mike Benz. What's up, Benz? The executive director from the foundation Freedom Online.

Great to see you, Jack. Yeah. Well, no surprises here. Today it's like clockwork. I mean I would be shocked if something like this did not happen. This is stock standard Blob Kraft on display in its, in its ugliest form. The same thing was done to Imran Khan. The same thing was done to the PIs party in Poland and now it's being done in Romania. Folks. Remember in Pakistan, Imran Khan, the popular head of state there, was ousted in a US State Department backed coup where leaked cables showed the that carrots and sticks were given to the parliamentarians and members of the Pakistani intelligence and military corps to get him removed in no confidence vote despite being the most popular person in the country. And the, and the elected head of state, they then canceled and postponed elections because they were afraid that Imran Khan would simply win the next election after being removed. And so in order to stop that so that they could have elections again, they simply arrested him on something like 200 charges. He is currently in prison still today, the same thing we saw. I talked about this on Joe Rogan and many other places. The National Endowment for Democracy hatched a plan after a razor close Polish election to essentially try to pressure Donald Tusk's government to arrest all of the major political figures around the PIs party to quote, stamp out populism and ensure that they can't win again in the next election. That is an explicit plot from the US government. And make no doubt about it, Ned gets 100% of its funds from the US government and directly from the State Department. It is over. Is accountable to the State Department. We saw the same thing here in Romania which is that if they didn't arrest him, they could nullify round one, they could nullify round two. The guy is going to win unless you take him out. We call this democratic stability when we arrest someone and then achieve a stable state because there's no way the opposition can win.

So the through line here for all of this of course is these are the populist nationalist candidates that we're talking about. It's every time. So I'm not going to sit here and say like, you know, Imran Khan and the Poles and the Romanians all have the same political ideology when it comes to their, their philosophy in politics or where they're coming from. But what, what do they stand against? That's what you have to look at. These are people who stand for the sovereignty of their country against this global international state, statecraft. And so when it comes to Imran Khan, well, what does he say? He's right there in Pakistan I mean, we could talk about all of the, the pipelines and the Chinese trying to get across and build their pipelines in their economic corridors with the Belt and Road Initiative across Pakistan to connect them with Iran. Then when you go to Romania and when you go to Poland, of course these are key corridors. Poland having the LNG platform where the United States can into, through the Baltic into Northern Europe and then Romania, my goodness, when you talk about the geography, I know we have a map of Romania that we were chatting about and we put up in the last segment there that that's what people need to understand. Romania is the eastern flank of NATO. People say Poland is, but Romania is actually even further east. And what does, what does Romania offer that Poland does not to NATO? They have the direct port Constantine on the Black Sea. Benz, why is that port of Constantinople so important to NATO?

Well, NATO is building the largest NATO base in all of Europe right there on the Black Sea coast, pointing straight out at Crimea. As we speak, drones and military fighter jets are being moved from the Ramstein Air Force Base into that exact NATO air base. It is going to be the number one source of force projection for NATO against Russia for the duration of this war and frankly for the decades following. Romania does not want a big fat kick me sign from Russia on its back. And so what Georgeski is guilty of is the same thing that Imran Khan and the PIs party were. It's what the State Department cables refer to as taking a quote, aggressively neutral position. Just before Imran Khan was ousted, he had said we're where we want to be friends with everyone. We don't hate the United States, but we don't hate Russia. Same thing with how the, the Polish PIs party was shifting towards the end of their tenure. They wanted good relations with all. And it's the same thing with, with, with Georges. Q has been saying he hasn't been, you know, talking, talking ill of the west very much. It's been mostly that he just didn't want to have Romania be the source of force projection for killing Russians. And Romania plays a very important role for, for several reasons. It is also one of the primary modes of transport of weapons from Pakistan and from, from other shipment by. By sea in before it gets to Ukraine because it is a NATO country. And so Russia cannot mess with goods bound for Romain Romania the same way they could if it was going directly to Ukraine. And so there is this pipeline of transshipment of munitions into Romania. Georges queue as indicated that he wants to stop that as well. He doesn't want Romanian bound weapons killing Russians and he doesn't want the NATO base there. And so NATO can no longer go around, go around assassinating people or doing 1999 style, you know, 78 straight days of bombing campaigns on the parliament in Romania simply because they voted for someone in election. They need another mechanism to make their, make sure their plans still happen. And that mechanism is taking over the court system in Romania. And we saw US aid funds juicing the whole Romanian court system. We see USAID programs for rule of law and anti corruption and all that means is regime change. Just because you, you can't assassinate them formally. Yeah, the only way you can do it is judicially.

Well and of course this is something that in the past the Romanians, you know, they, they say it's the post commun. But in many ways the post communist order which was set up particularly in this part, this, the footprints of these post communist nations in the eastern part of Europe really do kind of maintain a lot of the same character as their communist predecessors. The only difference being rather than being controlled by Moscow, they're controlled by globalists out of Brussels. But they're backed by, in many cases certainly in Romania and Hungary by the George Soros network, the Open Society network. And this is something I was actually described having a discussion about this with Carrie Blake when she, she's now going to be taking over the Voice of America. But you have the same issue where so many of the people that get hired at these places, especially the Voice of America offices, they're actually locals. They say, oh, there's no way Americans can do these jobs. They'll hire locals who've been trained in Soros universities, who have come up through the Soros ranks, have been through Soros government, government entities or these NGOs many times backed by USAID funding. This has been the, the playbook. This has been the playground of the eastern flank of NATO for some time. Why? And I think you hit the nail on the head because they are totally focused on war with Russia. That's what they've been planning for. That's why they're building this. That's why all these things matter so much to them. And if you look at all of their moves from an anti Russia standpoint, including this right now, by the way, this is what it's all about.

Yeah, you can imagine from perspective, same things the big new Brzezinski said about funding the Mujahideen, that yeah, we funded these Islamo fascist terrorist groups. But what is a, you know A bunch of hillside gorillas in their hill of beans in the scale of the history of winning the Cold War. And that is the way NATO sees the fate of the sovereignty of Romania. Yeah, we, we arrested the guy who would have won the election, but if we didn't do that, we wouldn't get our NATO base from funding the Mujahideen and we'd lose the entire 21st century great plan to seize Eurasia from Russia. And so they feel like they have to do this, and the American people now have a choice about whether or not we need to go along with this, given that we provide over half of all NATO funding.

Well, and good thing, by the way, that there was never any blowback from funding the Mujahideen. I mean, I can't certainly think of anything that's, that's anything negative that's come of that, right?

Nah, can't think of any. Nothing coming up.

Worked out great. I mean, we just won the war. The Middle east is perfectly safe. Everything's great. I mean, it's definitely not like they turned into, like the, you know, the Taliban and the, and Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda that came back ISIS then morphed.

Think of that. You know, we won the Cold War. Now Romania is a totally free and sovereign country.

[Jack Posobiec]

Hey, I'm just going to pop Rando 3 Rambo 3 onto my, onto my Plex server later tonight and, and just watch and think about how great the Mujahideen is. No, look, this is what always happens. This is like the, the funding of. And by the way, for folks who haven't seen it. And I just, you know, Ben's. I just got back from Ukraine last week, and now what are we seeing as the Ukraine peace talks come forward is we're seeing more and more what radicalization from these Azov pipes. We are seeing them saying, oh, you sold us out. You and you and the Americans, particularly in the west in, in general, you sold us out. Which, by the way, we did warn you that if you listen to human events Daily or the war room or any of, any of us guys on the right, we, we said over and over that this will not end well for you guys. But Ben's. All of this is happening as Trump is pressing the brakes on Ukraine, isn't it?

Well, that's another thing they're afraid of, which is that Romania would be an allied state for Trump as well, and it would give Trump one more bargaining chip against the EU and against London in terms of, in terms of the alliance structure within NATO and the alliance structure internationally for negotiating peace and for ending war with Russia, which basically destroys all the, you know, great laid plans of perfidious Albion and our shadow diplomacy network here in the US But I just want to read out these charges, if I can do that. Jack that, that dropped against George Askew because when he was actually arrested and thrown in the van in handcuffs, we actually didn't know what the crime was. Not that it mattered. They could indict him for, you know, eye contact that was held too long. But 20 years in prison, he's facing for, quote, incitement to actions against the constitutional order, initiating or establishing an organization with a fascist, racist or xenophobic character. Hey, you mentioned the Azov Battalion. You think they're going to get rolled up next? Jack? I don't. Or, or in any form is the act of promoting fascist, legionary, racist or xenophobic ideas, conceptions or doctrines. The, the third charge, communication of false information, continuous false declaration. So basically he's, he's arrested for misinformation.

The point that I try to make to our European friends, and I think that there are friends I believe that, I know President Trump does, is that friendship is based on shared values. You do not have shared values if you're jailing people for saying we should close down our border. You don't have shared values if you cancel elections because you don't like the result and that happened in Romania. You don't have. You do not have shared values if you're so afraid of your own people that you silence them and shut them up. So let's have shared values. Let's defend democracy. Let's have free expression, not just in the United States, but all over the Western world. That is the path to strong alliances in Europe. All right, Jack Posobic, we are back at the end of the Human Events Daily. Last segment, we're on with Mike Benz as well as on our three Charlie Kirk Salem Radio Network. Benz, what are we also seeing on the censorship front? Of course, that's your bread and butter. We've been talking about the color revolutions, but when it really comes down to it, it is Internet censorship. And at the end of the day, look, look, it's I, this is an issue where I keep saying, look, I love that Elon is running X now. I love everything that he's done with it. But at the same time, we have to remember that these, that censorship online can come back at a moment's notice. And that is the only thing. It is the only thing that allowed us to attain victory, to be able to spread the message and actually what's going on with President Trump and the truth about what's going on. So. So Ben, what are you seeing on the hot plate?

Well, there's an incredible new bill that Representative Darrell Issa just sponsored, and it just passed today unanimously out of the House Judiciary Committee. It's called no censors on our shores. And what it does is eventually blocks entry into the US by any foreign government official who's a part of a foreign government. Government speech censorship apparatus is also sends them packing if they're already here. And so you have this situation where you have these oligarchs in Europe, you have these oligarchs in Ukraine, these oligarchs in Romania, these oligarchs in Brazil who have their cushy beachfront property in Miami or on the Northeast corridor or in California, and they maintain property here in the U.S. they have networks and communities here in the U.S. and while they are using their own country's laws to, to coerce speech crackdowns and to target US Social media companies and the speech of hundreds of millions of Americans. We are giving them a free pass to come and go on our own soil. Meanwhile, they are seizing assets of our, our companies on theirs. For example, Brazil shut down X and seized assets from Starlink, a completely unrelated company, just because they thought Elon Musk, by targeting Elon Musk, they would be and his portfolios, they would be able to compel more censorship out of X. The EU has threatened to do the exact same thing. Also to go after Tesla. They've threatened, why should they be here on our shores when they're functioning as effectively enemy combatants and massive human rights violators by going after the very thing that they call other countries autocratic for doing? And so this is a very powerful point of leverage if this passes through Congress and I believe a full, full court press should be applied to make sure that any Republican who even thinks in their sleep about voting against this should be primaried into oblivion and $100 million going to their primary opponent to make sure that that happens is a necessity. Because every point of leverage that we have legally here in the US is something that JD Vance and President Trump, the US Ambassador to the eu, the US Ambassador to Brazil, the US Ambassador to NATO can hold up and say, well listen, you take one of ours, we take one of yours. You want to, you want to say that Americans can't talk to Americans about the affairs in the EU. You want to tax x 6% of its global annual revenue if they don't comply with your disinformation edicts. Well hope you had a nice time with your Miami beach house because you can't go, you can't go there anymore. Not until your country sets its speech freedom free. And it's important to remember that these two things are interlinked as you said about the color revolution playbook and the control of the nullification of democratic elections. George Askew's first round election was was suspended by the by the judiciary, the corrupt judiciary in Romania because of TikTok because he was too popular on TikTok. The the whole USAID ned State Department network censored the ever loving oblivion out of Yair Bolsonaro one of the people who played a key role in that even said that Bolsonaro probably would have won if not for the US led censorship effort. Just as efforts to set speech free under the iron Curtain were pivotal to being able to do color revolutions to liberate people from from Soviet vast political vassalage. Now we are doing exactly what we accuse the Soviets doing with doing censorship as a means of keeping control of our own vassals. It has to be a fair fight when it comes to the information space or else you have no democracy at all.
