If Don and Eric caught. Called right now on your cell phone,
Hunter Biden
the opportunity to punch either one of them in the face. Okay. I believe that the biggest problem in America is the closetocracy, as I call is. And I'm. And I'm being totally serious, and I can do a list where the. Where this cocaine was found. Number one, I wasn't even there. But I told my dad, literally, he said, stop cussing so much. And I said, it's your fault. It's. I sit and listen to you. All right.
Angie
Joining me today on IHIP News is Hunter Biden. He is an artist, an author, a recovery advocate, and the ringleader of the Biden crime family, who joins me today in studio in New York. Hunter, I am so happy to have you here.
Hunter Biden
I'm so happy to be here. I'm such a huge fan. I usually. I really. I don't get. I no longer get nervous doing these things. I get a little bit nervous just because I'm a fanboy.
Angie
Oh, I love this, Angie. Yeah, I love it.
Hunter Biden
So I.
Angie
You've been making the rounds on podcasts lately, which I love. And you, I think, in the last couple of days, sat down with Nick Fuentes.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
How was that?
Hunter Biden
It was fascinating.
Angie
Okay.
Hunter Biden
It's fascinating. I had said on another podcast, it was after I did Candace's show, and they asked me, why did you do that? And one of the reasons that I wanted to do it is I think it's for me, I wanted to do the things that make me really nervous. And facing the people that have, you know, spread the most kind of vitriolic lies about me and my family was one of the things I wanted to do. And they have this audience that I don't fully understand. I don't get it. And so I said on a podcast, I said, the first thing I want to do is ask him why he's such a fucking Nazi, which is exactly what I did. Yeah.
Angie
Oh, my God. What'd he say?
Hunter Biden
He had a really. I don't want to give too much away because I did say that I would kind of let each of us speak for ourselves, but A really interesting explanation for some of the most kind of horrific things, at least from my perspective, that he said about the Holocaust, about African Americans, about. About a lot of other groups that at least I know I care about, and I'm positive that you do. What Nick told me was that he attributed a lot of the most egregious things that he's ever said or professed to believe to youth and to this thing, which I didn't know the term, but he educated me, and so did. And it was at the invitation of Andrew Callahan, who I really like and I think is really smart. It's called Edge Lording. He said, basically, it was a joke. It's like, how extreme can you be? But it was all a joke. And I said to him, I pointed out to him that not a joke to a lot of people who have suffered from generational trauma, that does not just go back to even the Holocaust. This stretches back 2000 years. My wife is Jewish. My. My son is Jewish. And it's deeply, deeply offensive. And I said to him, I just don't understand what it is that. Because I look you in the eye and I know you don't believe it. And he said, I don't. It was a joke. And then watch it. It's really, really fascinating. And I'm not even remotely letting them off the hook. But my general thinking going forward is, is that I'm going to talk to every one of these people, and not just because we find common ground and they all hate Trump now, but because, like, go into the lion's den. I mean, one of the things that Charlie Kirk said in when he was on Gavin Newsom show, he's like, none of you guys on the left ever come on these podcasts because you're all scared. Well, part of it is I'm not fucking scared like Brant.
Angie
Right.
Hunter Biden
Let's, like, engage. Because this idea that I'm platforming, you know, Candace Owens or Nick Puent, they have these massive, massive platforms.
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
And I want to be able to, you know, potentially see the humanity. And Nick Fontes is an extreme, extreme example of that. And I 100% am as offended by the things that he said in the past as everybody else, if not more particularly for me, as it relates to the things that he says about race. But it was a really, really fascinating conversation, and it's worth the watch.
Angie
There were rumors online that you almost got into a fight with him. Not true.
Hunter Biden
Not true.
Angie
Oh, God, I really wanted that to be true.
Hunter Biden
You know, if I had a publicist Maybe that I would have told them to like, spread that, but no, no.
Angie
Okay. What about Candace? Did you talk to candace about Brigitte McCrone? Did that ever weave its way in?
Hunter Biden
Oh, yeah, it did. Yeah. Yeah. She put the Brigitte Macron doll right over my shoulder, which I didn't know until the end. Go watch the thing again. Just go. You don't, don't watch the whole thing, but go watch the thing again. There's that Brigitte Macron. And by the way, another example, the things that she has said in the past and forget about just the generally offensive as it relates to whether you're left or right or whatever the hell you are. Just generally offensive if you're human in some inst. Is the things she said about me. Right. And I went there because I just felt like that we refused to see the humanity. And I'm guilty of this myself.
Angie
Oh, me too.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. It's like I can't like, you know, and by the way, like Melissa, who you just met, like, that's what I was saying. You've gotten me in trouble. Because she is, I mean, she is that. I'm, I'm, I'm sure without my knowledge, she has an AK47 somewhere in the house that is hidden and wants to take out a lot of really mean, mean people. Yeah, I'm joking, everyone. That's not true. My wife is.
Angie
I personally really like that you are talking to these people because for years we heard about Hunter Biden, Hunter Biden's laptop, the Biden crime family, and on and on and on. When Donald Trump provoked January 6th attacks because your dad beat him by 7 or 8 million votes and he couldn't stomach it and he packed his toys up and he left the White House after he, you know, unleashed all of these people, these low level offenders where, you know, like Jenny Thomas, the wife of Clarence, no accountability for her. And she was a planner of it. And they just went on and on. And I remember living in Oklahoma City, I was texting with this client, he's a physician, educated doctor, orthopedic surgeon. This is back when I was doing interior design. And he had sent me some article about your family. And I responded like, you support Trump. You have no credibility in any of this. And he responded to me, well, Hunter Biden is a drug addict. And I responded, so is my husband. So are many, many people I love. And I bet there are people in your family that are alcoholics and, and drug addicts. That really fucking pisses me off.
Hunter Biden
That's why I love You.
Angie
And it really fucking pissed me off that, that. Because addiction is something that affects maga, moderates, people that sit on their sofa and don't vote liberals, it affects everybody. And so the fact that they tried to exploit your addiction, when many of them probably have an addiction or in the. Or are in the closet or some other. Some fucked up skeleton that they have, the fact that you're going into these spaces, I like it. I'm like, yes, I'm so glad you're confronting them. So when they're brow beating this laptop thing, are you sober during this time?
Hunter Biden
Yeah, 100%. So how did that impact your sobriety? I kind of gave myself this protective womb between when I got sober. I got sober in June of 2019, so I'm seven years sober.
Angie
Okay, congratulations.
Hunter Biden
And the complete destruction in public humiliation that I then was put through from that point on the laptop and all the things and prosecutions and everything, it was devastating. But what I stopped doing, I stopped reading all of the things that people were saying. And not until I started to do this did I realize that a lot of people, not just people on the right, but a lot of people, had conflated my addiction that ended in June of 2019, with the entire time my dad was in office, right. Was president, and nobody knew that I was sober for seven years. And that was shocking to me. It was really shocking to me. But the other thing that was what you just pointed out, the single biggest reason that I'm doing what I'm doing is because I figured out one thing, is that they created this platform for me. They tied me to a post, they threw their fruits and vegetables at me, then they lit me on fire, and then they whipped me. And at the end of the day, the fire went out, the crowd went home. But I still had a platform and I was still standing. And what I realized was, is that everybody that I talked to publicly about anything or that would come up to me, because now being the most famous or infamous, whatever word you want to use, addict in the world was, they came to tell me their own story, like how I know about Josh's story, right. And there isn't a person in this country that does not know and have a deep personal connection to someone that hasn't suffered from addiction in Somehow, 50 million Americans on any given day are still sick and suffering from addiction or struggling with their recovery. 50 million.
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
And you realize it's the great connector, and it's the thing that very, very, very few people talk about openly. And I'm not blowing smoke, for real. One of the reasons why I love the way that you and Josh talk about it is because people need to hear it and realize that you can still have a fulfilling career. And, and it's so strange, though, that people are like, oh my God, when, you know, all they gotta go is go back to their house and check in on their 22 year old, or check in on their husband, or checking in on their mom or their dad or the house that they grew up in, or their boss or their best friend, and they're going through the same thing. It's been a really, really beautiful experience in that. And it doesn't matter if you're, you know, maga and doesn't matter if you're, you know, crazy liberal like me, but it, it affects us all.
Angie
Did you go to rehab in 2019?
Hunter Biden
No. Well, let me see.
Angie
How many times, how many times have you been to rehab?
Hunter Biden
That's why I had to stop and think. Nine.
Angie
Okay, how many of those nine did Joe Biden show up for Family Week?
Hunter Biden
No, you know what? My dad did not come to Family Week. And the reason that he didn't come to Family Week, because the, the first one I went to was in Antigua and they didn't have a Family Week. I went to that Eric Clapton one. It's a really basic one. It's called Crossroads. It was a great rehab and sounds fancy, but it wasn't fancy at all. And, but then beginning when I did my, like my real, my real stretch when I relapsed in 2010 and then was cycling in and out, he was either vice president or had been vice president. So showing up at Family Week was distraction. I mean, beyond distraction. But, you know, I talk to my dad every day. He's been the most. I mean, he's just an incredible, incredible father. I say to people, regardless of what you think about his politics or his presidency, he, I can completely, 100% say without and really mean it. He's the best father I've ever read about, the best father I've ever seen in fiction. He is truly an incredible, incredible dad.
Angie
My favorite moment of your dad's was when he was debating Trump on stage and Trump said something really disparaging about you on the national stage. Hunter's a drug addict and your dad just in the most human, fatherly way, not a presidential way, not a politician, said, he's my son and I love him. And from somebody who has loved somebody who's an addict, it immediately connected me to him. Because loving an addict is painful. It hurts. It hurts so much to love an addict, and it's a real mind fuck, because love is supposed to feel good, but when you love an addict, it rips through you. And many times I thought, I wish I were the addict so I didn't have to feel this shit sober. That's how bad I hurt. So when your dad said that, I remember just like, oh, my God, what a moment for, you know, addiction and recovery. And then I also thought, dumb and dumber. That's what I call Eric and Don Jr. They'll never know what that feels like. They'll never know what. Having a man on stage completely rejected all the shame that Trump tried to put on him about you and just showed unconditional love. It's my favorite moment of your dad's long, long, long career because it just touched me so much.
Hunter Biden
He'd called me before that, and I said, dad, he's going to go after you on me. And, you know, and. And I. And I. And he said to me, he said, honey, don't like, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I'm putting you through this. And I. Anyway, there was this ongoing. I mean, he put it from the outside, but I thought it was a joke. You know, I'd get on the phone with him, I'd say, dad, I'm really sorry. And he said, I'm really sorry. Go back and forth. But, you know, I think that that was my dad's greatest superpower. And also this singular thing that differentiated him from not just other presidents, but almost every president is his deep, deep authenticity as it relates to the way in which he cares about his family and. And, you know, go into the whole issue of the pardon and all the other things that people want to always know about. And understandably, but just as a. Just as a father, as a son, watching that, it was. It broke my heart, broke my heart that he had to defend me.
Angie
And then in reverse, he felt like if I wasn't in public life, you wouldn't be going through this. When you're. When the pardon thing came out, this is where my husband started getting really mad at Democrats. And when the pundits were like, joe Biden shouldn't pardon Hunter, and Josh is a criminal defense attorney in recovery. And Josh goes, I fucking hate the Democrats. I hate these pundits. Of course he's going to pardon his son. Of course he's going to fucking pardon his son, because what would Trump do? He would pardon Dumb and Dumber so fast, it'd make Your head spin. And this is why we play two different games.
Hunter Biden
I guarantee you he. He. He could have pardoned the two of them.
Angie
Of course, it's okay to call him dumb and dumber.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Oh, I would. How about. I was gonna use worse words, but I told my dad, literally said, stop cussing so much. And I said, it's your fault. I sit and listen to you. I thought, oh, you can do that.
Angie
Your dad's the one that said, big fucking deal with the healthcare pageant.
Hunter Biden
Exactly. I said, look who's talking. But, yeah, the pardon, as I explained to people, is that when my dad said he wouldn't pardon me if he President of the United States, he wouldn't have pardoned me, and I really mean that. And not because he thinks that I should be punished, but if he was still there, he would have had absolute faith in a legitimate judiciary and particularly a legitimate Department of Justice that has control over the Federal Bureau of Prisons in probation. But the day that he nominated Matt Gaetz to become the next Attorney General, my dad was like, you know, all bets are off. And then came Kash Patel. And then came, you know, I mean, then you see the Cabinet and you realize they don't have any plan on governing. They have only planned on looting. Yeah. And pillaging. I mean, that is the plan that goes throughout the entire Cabinet, from Howard Lutnick to Cash Patel to all them. But I am positive the reason for the pardon was because of that, is that how could a father leave his son in the hands of people that, you know, are going to use that situation to extract whatever they could extract out of my dad or my family or anything?
Angie
Hunter, it was a layup. Everybody knew. We all saw January 6th. We all saw it.
Hunter Biden
And then you fast forward everybody but Jake Tapper.
Angie
Touche.
Hunter Biden
Who was really horrible. Yeah. Can't believe it's gonna really damage my father's legacy.
Angie
Yeah, totally. I mean, the selected.
Hunter Biden
I don't mean to get you in a fight with you.
Angie
No, it's okay. I criticize him plenty and corporate media, but to me, it was a layup because I knew what they were gonna do. And Trump is a petty, resentful man surrounded by submissive men. All of these men surrounding Trump are submissive. They should put on a masterclass for the trad wives on how to be submissive to your man, because I've never seen a group of men so submissive. So Trump could just say, hey, Cash, I want you to do this with Hunter. It was a layup. You don't even have to explain it as long as you did. And that's why Democrats lose, because they don't understand that. They don't understand the enemy. Which brings me to a question. That one of the things that pisses me off is the Merrick Garland DOJ and the not prosecuting of Trump and that they prosecuted you, that they, you had a deal that was done. And then you always see these Democrats, moderate Democrats, and of course your dad had separation, but that capitulate to right wing framing. So they're like, hunter Biden has his laptop. Hunter Biden smoking crack. Hunter Biden selling art, all this shit. So they're like, oh my God, we better charge Hunter. And there's always this capitulation by Democrats that cave to these nutty right wingers. What's your take on that? Or on Merrick Garland?
Hunter Biden
My take is this. And removing myself from it as much as I can, my personal feelings, is the single greatest mistake of my father's administration was the leadership of Merrick Garland.
Angie
I completely agree. I write about this in my book Not Today. Fascist.
Hunter Biden
The reason that we are in the situation that we're in right now can almost. Well, by the way, the buck has to stop with my dad. He was the President and he chose him. Now, once he chose him, he played by the, you know, a higher standard than the Marcus Queensberry rules. He played by the Constitution and the tradition that the President will never, you know, particularly since Nixon, involve himself in any decision making as it relates to anything at the Department of Justice. So I guarantee you there was a division between church and state there. But if Merrick Garland had started a completely 100% legitimate investigation, rather than thinking like, let's not fan the flames, like, what the. Did you not watch what I watched?
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
Did you not see these people storming the Capitol of the United States of America, beating cops and running congressmen and senators literally out of the building? Yeah, you didn't see that. You didn't see a President and know that it was a concerted and planned effort on their part, beginning all the way back from the day before the election when they knew they were going. I mean, go back and listen.
Angie
They wanted to kill Mike Pence.
Hunter Biden
Go back and listen to Steve Bannon talking to Miles Gao on the day before the election, saying exactly what they were going to do. There's tapes, Mother Jones has these tapes that were leaked. You got to listen to the tape where he says, this is what we're going to do first. We started with the laptop and we, you know, we Took, I think his license with the pictures, you know, because they did this whole thing where I was a pedophile in China and all this stuff that they put out there. And the next thing we're going to do is we're just going to say that the election was not legitimate and we're just going to say it over and over and over again. So we knew that it was a planned conspiracy that had a disparate number of actors all working inside and outside of the White House at all levers of government. It's a layup and he doesn't do anything. He doesn't do anything. The only way that we got to any prosecution of him as it related to January 6th is we had to wait for Congress to go through an entire series of hearings. And it lays it all out then and we still don't go after him. We don't end up going after him and get Jack Smith until the documents case and then they bring the documents case in Florida rather than in D.C. i mean, I don't get it. I mean, I absolutely don't get it.
Angie
This is that thing that Democrats do where they. Your dad wanted to make Merrick Garland whole because Mitch McConnell, who I believe is a vegetable right now. That's just my personal opinion.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
Fucked over Barack Obama. The majority of the American public fucked over democracy and withheld that seat. And Merrick Garland paid the price and Obama chose a moderate. He had a mandate to choose a progressive. But again, they allow the right wing to frame their decision. So Obama picks this milquetoast candidate. Your D is a decent man, felt bad about what happened to Merrick Garland and he played integrity politics like, well, I'm going to make him whole and make him Attorney General. And then Merrick Garland gets there and he's like, well, we can't upset these crusty white Republicans.
Hunter Biden
Massive mistake.
Angie
It just. Oh my God.
Hunter Biden
By the way, I mean, like, you could have, should have, would have. You know, you look back and how things would all have been different if there was literally anybody in there who didn't look at this as some kind of like normal times in which why inflame the country any further than it's being inflamed? Why? You know, I mean, by the way, and it wasn't just Merrick Garland who was saying stuff like that. It was a lot of people in the establishment Democratic Party. Yeah, it was a lot of the people that still claimed to be, you know, you know, conservative Republicans, but that were, you know, engaged in a lot of bipartisanship you know, back when Lindsey Graham was saying things like, I'm out, you know. Right, right. So it was. And by the way, I think that that's the singular, you know, people always talk about the Democratic Party. I say, there is no Democratic Party until you have a Democratic nominee. The, the. The party is so disparate. And, you know, like, this is the Will Rogers quote. I'm. I'm not a part of any, you know, I'm not a member of any organized party. I'm a Democrat. That. It's true. There's a truth to that until you end up with a nominee, and then the party coalesces around that nominee and their vision. But from my estimation, the problem with the Democratic Party is we're all not. We're all. There is a corporate elite part of the party that believes that triangulation in the middle way is the only way. And I love James Carville, but let's say James Carville, like, we gotta focus on the. And we do. We have to focus on the issues that related to rural America. But that doesn't mean that we have to say that we're not gonna stick up for trans people. And I'm not just pandering to you, for real. It's what I talk about all the time when I'm doing these things is, you know, Joe Biden is as confused about transgenderism as anybody over the age of 80 should be expected to be confused about transgenderism. But you know what? He put transgender people in his cabinet. In his Cabinet, he stuck up for transgender people in executive orders, and they still voted for him in rural America. He got 81 million votes. He got more votes than anybody that's ever run for president of the United States. And it wasn't because Donald Trump, everybody, you know, was voting against Donald Trump because Donald Trump got 75 million. He got the same 75 million, you know, when he runs four years later. They voted for Joe Biden because they thought, you know what? He's just like me. He doesn't understand. But it doesn't mean that you have to demean and diminish a group that constitutes 0.5% of the population. And at the same time, I know he's not going to shove it down my throat like there's a way to do it without capitulating. I saw that interview that you did with Rahm Emanuel.
Angie
Oh, yeah.
Hunter Biden
Well, it made me really happy. But I think it is. That's. That is the Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, kind of wing of the Democratic Party. These people that claim to have gotten Barack Obama elected, which they didn't. They were on a campaign. They were important.
Angie
A dead pig could have gotten Barack Obama elected.
Hunter Biden
Exactly. And they are. You know, they look at people like Zorahan Mandani and they go, oh, my God, it's the end of the Democratic Party. I look at Zorahan Mandani and I go, there's a leader.
Angie
I completely agree.
Hunter Biden
Every single thing that they talked about. People are gonna flee the city and they're gonna go crazy, and it's the worst thing that could ever happen. And the Democratic Party's gonna be tagged with this Muslim, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And here he is, and he made promises. And you know what he did? He kept them. Yeah, he kept them. He's lowering rent. He's building co op grocery stores. He's doing something about. I mean, yeah, kindergarten. Pre kinderg. I mean, like, that's what people will care about. They care about.
Angie
He's not a dick. He doesn't throw anybody.
Hunter Biden
He's really, really good.
Angie
He's really, really, really good. He's excellent. I see him, and I see the future of the Democratic Party. I see that.
Hunter Biden
I do, too.
Angie
The election of Trump the second time was a repudiation of the status quo, and people get, you know, very upset. I think probably your dad's age hindered him in marketing his accomplishments because he just was like, I'm going to govern. And he knows how to do that really well. But you have to govern. Plus take victory tours, victory lapse at the same time. And he's not of that. That age. That understands that. Zoran understands that really well, that you have to govern plus social media, all of these things.
Hunter Biden
Competence doesn't negate the need for communication.
Angie
That's right.
Hunter Biden
But when you have competence and communication, and he is a generational communicator.
Angie
I agree.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. And I'm so impressed. And the other thing, I wrote this on an expos? After the primaries here, which was that more than anything, I think that voters in this moment in time, this is always true in terms of the positive aspect of it. But authenticity is everything right now. Because everybody feels like they've been lied to. Everybody feels like that they. By both sides, and they know that they've been lied to by this guy. But I say to everybody, I think one of. And they say, because it reminds them of Trump, that authentic kind of. And I say, he's not authentic. He's just audacious. There's a difference between being, you Know, the carnival burger and being a. And being Zohar Hermandani and being authentic about the things that you believe in. And by the way, and standing firm in those principles that, you know that there's a wide swath that maybe even the majority disagrees with you on. Right. You know, but if you stand in that with a smile and authentically defend your position, I always have the belief that voters will. Will see that and they value that more than anything. That's what they thought that they were getting from Donald Trump.
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
They thought that they were getting a guy that was, you know, 6 foot 3, 225 pounds. And what they ended up getting was a guy that is, you know, 5, 11 and you know, 300.
Angie
Yeah, yeah. Cankles. Yeah, the cankles alone.
Hunter Biden
I mean.
Angie
Okay, I want to, I want have a little bit of fun here. So your, Your laptop, the. They had so much fun about it. And I want us to decide our top three MAGA laptops, MAGA men that we could get, you and I, and we could just do an all nighter.
Hunter Biden
I thought you were going to throw up some of the pictures from the left.
Angie
No, everybody's seen that. No, everybody's seen this, Hunter. That's old news. That's like a million news cycles ago. I want to talk about our fantasy laptops that we could acquire. You and me, top three MAGA laptops we're going to have.
Hunter Biden
Okay.
Angie
Okay. All right. All right, tell me number one.
Hunter Biden
Josh Hawley. Josh Hawley.
Angie
Oh, it's so good. Kylie, get the engagement photo.
Hunter Biden
Okay, I got this. Josh. Holly.
Angie
Okay.
Hunter Biden
I believe that the biggest problem in America is as in, in Washington D.C. with the federal government is a. Is it not the oligarchy closet cases? It's the closetocracy as I call it. It is. And I'm, and I'm being totally. And I can do a list because I don't know these to be true at all. But let's start with the laptop that I want to see. Well, begin with Josh Hawley.
Angie
Josh Hawley. Well, here's interesting. Here is his ink.
Hunter Biden
I have. Can we do more than three?
Angie
Yeah, we're going to go all day. Okay, here's Josh Hawley with Harrison Becker. He's the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs. And this looks like a gay engagement photo. I mean that's really gay. Ryan, on a scale of 0 to gay, how gay is that? Gay. Yeah, I just feel like when rubber
Hunter Biden
hits the road, so to speak,
Angie
these two are not thinking about women. Here he is. Attempting to have a heterosexual kiss. Okay, number two. Hunter Holly's number one. Number two.
Hunter Biden
Oh, Ted Cruz. Of course. 100%.
Angie
Do you get a gaydar ping from Ted?
Hunter Biden
No. You know what I get? I get a really, really kinky weird shit.
Angie
Me too. Do you remember on 9 11, and
Hunter Biden
it may be gay, it may not be gay. It may be a little bit of this, it may be a little bit of that, but it may involve animals, too.
Angie
Okay, do you remember on 9 11, this was several years ago, Ted Cruz liked a porn tweet.
Hunter Biden
Oh, yeah.
Angie
And then he blamed it on his staffer. And everybody knows Ted did it on 9 11.
Hunter Biden
Yeah, exactly.
Angie
So, okay, yeah, Ted Cru. I would love to see his.
Hunter Biden
That wasn't the burger account. Oops. By the way, Ted, let me tell you something. I understand when your digital life becomes, you know, laugh of fodder, I can. I can understand your pain. Yeah, yeah, but no, he like weird, weird stuff.
Angie
I agree. Weird, really weird shit.
Hunter Biden
Like, by the way, maybe even some stuff that, you know, involves like, you know, I don't even want to say.
Angie
Yeah, I agree with you.
Hunter Biden
Ted is a weird, horrible human being.
Angie
He's a horrible, horrible human being.
Hunter Biden
And by the way, but that's not just coming from me. Every single one of his colleagues hates him. Hates him. Not, you know, 50 Democrats, literally 99 senators. Hate him. And because he was there when my dad was still there. Yeah, every one of them. Every single one of them universally hated him. Yeah. Hated Ted Cruz.
Angie
You know, this is the thing. Like, these men. So JD Vance can't stand up for his wife. You know, he can't condemn Nazi tweets and racist tweets. And his wife is, you know, from an immigrant family, has mixed race kids. Ted Cruz could not defend Heidi Cruz. And that's why these men, I just think, God, they're so submissive. And I think back to your dad being on the debate stage when somebody tried to throw you under the bus, and he stood as a father and did that. And these men will not stand up for their wives. It's just. It's stunning to me. And yet they want to lecture us in the sanctimonious way about family values. It's like, fuck off, Ted.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Okay, Number three, this is Peter Johnson. Who? Speaker Johnson.
Angie
Okay? His official name on this podcast is Little Moses Mike Grindr Johnson.
Hunter Biden
Oh, Little Moses Mike Grindr Johnson. I knew that. And Little Moses Mike Grindr Johnson is either his or his children. Because I still don't get the porn. That whole Thing where they. Because the porn policing of the between.
Angie
Oh, you mean you're. You and your son don't monitor each other's porn, News hunter? Is that what you're saying? You and, you and Joe Biden, do y' all monitor each other?
Hunter Biden
Strangest thing.
Angie
Your dad's not watching.
Hunter Biden
I, I, why she's gotta hope not. But now everybody. Modern my porn. The Republicans really like to monitor, by the way, all of these guys. Yeah, but, but, but there is a look before when I would say this and I would joke around and everybody kind of laughs about it, but I know for certain, and I'm not kidding now, is that there is. And everybody in D.C. knows this. I mean, I lived there for 20 years. My dad was a senator or vice president or president my whole life, for 54 years, my life. And everybody knows there is, like, this closeted gay mafia, largely Republican, that exists in Washington, D.C. and everybody knows every single one of them who's gay. And so it's. And what I believe, the only reason that that is relevant is because I believe that internal conflict creates so much vitriol inside a person that they take it out on the rest of the world. And they do. And so what they do is their whole lives, they've been closeted. And so you have this, like, black ball inside yourself, this, like, black, blackened heart by the fact that you can't be who you want to be. And so you take it out on everybody else. And these men, largely men, have done exactly that. And everybody knows who they are. Everybody. Yeah. Yeah.
Angie
Lindsey Graham.
Hunter Biden
Yeah, of course.
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
So have you seen. Speaking of that, I think it's. I say that Trump is now in his deathbed confession, but by the way,
Hunter Biden
like, for Lindsey Graham, like, everybody knows that Lindsey Graham was gay. Right. And I don't, like, I don't have. I really had. And I liked Lindsey Graham when I was a kid, but everybody knew that he was gay. Right. And. But, you know, but we still kind of, like, talk about it on, like, cnn. Like, you know, like, well, then the all. And again, the only reason it's relevant is because of the fact that they seem to do everything that they possibly can to take out their inability to know and live their true life on everybody else.
Angie
To me, it's relevant because during the day, they are diminishing and instituting institutionalized bigotry against the LGBTQ community, and at night, they're fetishizing it doing gay shit. Yeah. So little Moses might go, which becomes
Hunter Biden
even more fetishized because it's in secret.
Angie
Exactly.
Hunter Biden
And it becomes more. Well, I don't want to characterize it any other way. When anything that is done in secret reminds me of addiction. Okay. So I'll bring it back to myself. So when you are. When you drink and you drink to excess and people get to call you on it, so what you start to do is you start to hide it from the people that you know and love. And you end up in places that you shouldn't be. And then you. It just progresses that way. I almost see this in the same way from the time that you know. And it. And part of it's heartbreaking. Can you imagine living that life? Can you imagine the torture that you have to put yourself through to pretend that you are something that you're not by going so overboard in villainizing and attacking that which you actually are at your deepest core? It makes everything easier to do for no other purpose than for power. Right. Yeah. Because you have to rationalize all of that in your head. The ability to do that.
Angie
Yeah. I think self hatred and I think that one man's secrets can have a ripple effect. Like your addiction had a ripple effect that caused a lot of pain. It's trench war. The same with one of these closeted Republican men. But when they all collude together.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
And the ripple effects. And then they. They. My opinion. My theory on this is coming from the Bible belt. You have all of these closeted men or men that have just like some really fucked up sexual proclivities about which they feel shame. Some kink that in another world they wouldn't feel shame about, but in their world, they do. So they latch onto this crazy Christian nationalism. And the bargain that they've made is like for little Moses Mike or for Josh Hawley or for Samuel Alito. If I can make. If I can deliver America as a Christian nation, that will make me right with God. Because they can't ungay themselves.
Hunter Biden
That's exactly right.
Angie
And so they. They have made this existential bargain and anointed themselves with all this power that they are going to deliver the United States to God as this Christian nation. And then it will wipe away of their gayness. And I think we have a huge grouping of these men that do this. I was on that Steve Schmitz podcast. You know, he was the campaign manager.
Hunter Biden
Of course. I know Steve.
Angie
He's great.
Hunter Biden
He is great.
Angie
He said that 90% of the Republican men when he worked in the White House, all gay. Exactly what you're saying.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
By the way.
Hunter Biden
And like, and Steve's not joking or not, like, being provocative. I'm being serious. Is that. That everybody knows who they are. And, like, it used to be like. Well, you don't want to. You don't want to out people like that. That doesn't.
Angie
We gotta be past that.
Hunter Biden
And you gotta be past that. We gotta look at. Look what they're doing.
Angie
Yes.
Hunter Biden
Like, I gotta believe that Stephen Miller's, you know, not a. You know, a Nazi.
Angie
You know, talk about some kinky shit.
Hunter Biden
Yeah, no, that's what I mean. But for real. Okay. And by the way, it'll come out.
Angie
Oh, yeah.
Hunter Biden
It always does. And the question is, is the mainstream media gonna think it is fair enough to report on without it? And anyway, I think that it is the root of so many problems. And I know that you and Angie and you guys joke about it in terms of, like. Well, maybe not really joke about it. I think that it is an actual problem.
Angie
We joke about it and both report on it.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
I mean, both. I mean, I think we use humor a lot in our podcast because what's happening is so fucking depressing.
Hunter Biden
I know. That's exactly. Was the only way that I could listen to the news for a period of time.
Angie
Yeah.
Hunter Biden
Or listen to political discourse at a time because I knew that I would be chuckling as much as I would be crying.
Angie
Yeah. You know, it's kind of like, you know, you've made some jokes about your addiction that remind me a lot of Josh. And when you. When you have learned to get past shame, which shame is at the center. This is the through line of what you're talking about, these closet cases about you. Josh and I speak so openly about addiction because we want to destigmatize it and take away the shame, because shame is such a dark passenger and it's such a poisonous pill. But some of my favorite sweets of yours. Somebody said about the. About the. Okay, excuse me, but aren't you decidedly part of the elite oligarch class? You're the son of a career senator, former VP and president, who received the most legally overbroad pardon which may not even be constitutional in the history of the United States. Sounds pretty fucking elite to me. What does Hunter Biden respond to on Here we go right here. Do I look like I'm part of the elite oligarch class? This was taken in a Super 8 motel off I95.
Hunter Biden
That was the cleanest picture I could find in the moment when I was responding to that. Yeah. Oh, I've been crazy.
Angie
And then Once somebody asked you about that cocaine in the Oval Office, it was yours, and you said, no, it absolutely was not mine.
Hunter Biden
I would have never left it there. Exactly.
Angie
I read that to Josh. Josh. Because he's a hundred percent right now, no good.
Hunter Biden
You're so crazy.
Angie
Ever.
Hunter Biden
Just so you. I have to explain. Explain that because people keep anyway, where this cocaine was found. Number one, I wasn't even there. But number one, where it was found. It is found in a cubby, okay? A little cubby. They're like this big, okay. And there's a whole wall of them, supposedly, before you walk into the Situation Room, where you literally run a war where the only people that go in there have top secret clearance. Okay, Down a hallway. All right, so what are they saying? That I went, took my little bag of cocaine, walked past two guards, by the way, with my Secret Service with me, and put it in, like, hid it in a cubby underneath the Oval office, you know, 400 yards, and then left it there. Like, what, as a practical joke or something? I mean, it's just the most ridiculous thing in the world. And clearly someone pulled their phone out of their pocket. It was going into the Situation Room and it. Whatever little things stuck to their thing. They screwed me over. Just all I got to say is amateur. Whoever it was, was an amateur. It could have been Don Juniors. It could have been there for a long time. Could have been there for a long time.
Angie
Let's talk about some conspiracy theories that I like to dabble in. You know, before, like maybe two years ago, I was like, I am not exactly conspiracy theorist. I'm not going to talk about getting real close. Me too. Let's talk about him. Okay, first of all, do you think Jeffrey Epstein killed himself?
Hunter Biden
Oh, not in a million years.
Angie
Agree.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
Yeah, completely agree.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. By the way, and I like, who was saying to me, like, oh, my gosh, I am really concerned, Hunter, engaging in this conspiracy theories about the, you know, butler and, you know, like, who believes that the. That a guy that everybody knows was an asset of some security service is sitting in a jail cell and has literally, we know, files on, you know, I don't know how many incredibly powerful and important people. And he just decides that one day he's going to wake up after all that and he's going to somehow hang himself with his, you know, his socks and his T shirt.
Angie
Did you see how low the bed is to literally. I watch a lot of Dateline, and I just don' think that that is
Hunter Biden
plausible, by the way, though. But I have to admit is Dan Boncino and Cash Patel said that he did. So we should take their word because they've proven to be real heroes on the Epstein files. Huh?
Angie
So you brought up Butler.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
Okay. So I have a family member who works in law enforcement, federal law enforcement. And he immediately was just like. Like that was staged. It's just not possible that you have a guy that's up on a roof and you have Secret Service with local police and all of the people that secure. That's the first thing you look is, is there a threat up there? I was in Italy when this happened. And so I woke up in the morning and the news had already happened. And I went to this restaurant across the street, and I go to the same place in Italy every summer. Like, Jennifer is a fake. Right? The stage, a trumpet stage, The. It's not real.
Hunter Biden
Right?
Angie
And I was like, like, well, surely he wouldn't do that. And then I went back and I started watching it, and I was too rel. I was really reluctant for a long time to say it out loud because I think that MAGA has kind of done this thing where they control all of the. The news narrative. And for us to be different from them. We say, oh, well, we accept facts. And I just. I kind of am calling. And here's why. Aside from the op, the thing that.
Hunter Biden
That.
Angie
That Secret Service or somebody wouldn't see a person with a gun on top of a roof step that aside, Donald Trump is petty party of one. Your table's now available. I mean, he is obsessed with your dad. He's obsessed with Barack Obama. He will not shut the fuck up about either one of them. He will not shut up. He won shut up. He won't shut up. And you're telling me this kid tried to kill him and he never. We don't get any grievance tweets about this.
Hunter Biden
Not a word.
Angie
Crickets.
Hunter Biden
And the thing about it, okay, so my dad, Donald Trump mentioned the Washington Post did a thing. Donald Trump mentioned my dad six times a day. They stopped counting in the first hundred days. Now they stopped counting. I mean, six times a day. Okay, who. What's the name of the would be assassin from Butler that changed the course of world history. What's his name?
Angie
Thomas Crooks.
Hunter Biden
Is that his name?
Angie
Thomas Crooks? Is that right?
Hunter Biden
Okay, because I don't know. I mean, I know every other would be assassin. I mean, I can go back to, you know, the. You know, the Archduke Ferdinand. I mean, like. But like, has there been a trial or investigation or hearings or congressional hearings like the, you know, I mean, I
Angie
think they shut it down. Didn't you guys? Didn't we read that? Shut down?
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not a. By the way, shouldn't somebody in the Secret Service lost their job for that because there's a guy sitting up on a roof 300, 100 yards away with the direct line of sight with the scope and a rifle in full view of the President of the United States. Shouldn't somebody gotten fired. Shouldn't there be a deep, deep federal investigation in Congress as to. At least from the funding perspective of why it possibly could have gone that wrong? Nothing. Not a word. Not a single single word. Now, now does that mean that I'm right? Probably, Probably. I like to think. And now in this new me is that. Yeah, I'm just gonna say, yeah, I'm right. Junior fucking stage.
Angie
Yeah, exactly. Okay, I want to talk a little bit about. Obviously we have talk about Trump. So I think he's in his deathbed confession era. Like, you can tell your dad got a lot of grief about his age. And I say if you're going to run for the big boy seat, get ready for big boy criticism. You know, your dad didn't play victim of that. That's if you're going to run for president, people are going to shit talk you. Of course, Trump thinks he should be exempt from the shit talking, which brings in the Jake Tapper double standard and all of that. But set that aside. It's interesting to me how he is constantly. And this comes back to one of our other theories about what's wrong with the Republican Party. Have you seen how often he's talking about how hot men are?
Hunter Biden
Yeah, yeah.
Angie
Have you? And then think about the time Zoron went to visit him and how happy he was.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
The reporter was like, Mayor Mamdani, do you still think Trump's a fascist? And Trump's like, go ahead, say yes.
Hunter Biden
Here's what I think.
Angie
Okay, okay.
Hunter Biden
For real about this is this. I don't think that Donald Trump is gay or even bi. Curious. No, no. What I think Donald Trump is, is he is a. Has a narcissism to the extreme. And in his age now when he sees a man that is, that is just so physically beautiful, he has to talk about it because he envies it. It's like you said, like your deathbed thing, like, oh my God, like, you know, what's his name? Jackson Dart? Like, oh my God, you're a specimen. Like, you're an amazing, like, look at those. Look at those abs, man. Like, oh, my goodness.
Angie
I think that's a little gay.
Hunter Biden
And. Oh, my. I think. No, I really mean. I mean, I'm trying to be more cutting than thinking it's a little gay and that I think that it is
Angie
like an extension of his narcissism.
Hunter Biden
Total extension of his narcissism. Like, he's got to point out, like, I used to look like that. We know that he never did. Yeah, in his mind, he did.
Angie
And so as we watch this now, Eric, he's definitely. Oh, my God, dumb and dumb.
Hunter Biden
I have no idea whether that's true or not. Not. Oh, and I am talking about Eric.
Angie
I want play this.
Hunter Biden
I bet every woman that he's ever dated wishes he was gay. But I don't know if it's any true at all.
Angie
You know, I talked to a couple of people that used to work with him, men, and they said, we absolutely think he's gay.
Hunter Biden
Yeah, Eric.
Angie
No, Donald.
Hunter Biden
Oh, Donald. Really?
Angie
Yes. They said, because if you think about the women that he's attracted to. Yeah, he. He. Maybe that's pictures in his. He pictures in his mind, like what a straight man would want. That's why they all kind of look like Barbie Dol. Where this man that told me that worked with Trump, very reliable source, said, you know, real men don't mind a little bit of cellulite or, you know, just we like all different types of women. But Trump and they. And then another person that I've spoke with who worked in Trump 1.0 said they thought it was also weird because they would go to these DHS hearings or FBI things and they would always line up the hottest men in front and like all these kind of goober, dorky Republican, like brainiacs that or AIDS would show up and it's like hot man convention.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
I don't know. Maybe it's a combination of all of the above. Play the video of Hunter talking about wanting to kick Don and Eric's ass.
Hunter Biden
Okay, guys, Hunter Biden here. I just got a call from Andrew Callahan. I think he's trying to organize a. A cage match. Me versus Eric and Don Jr. I told him I'd do it 100% in if he can pull it off. And if he can't, I'm still coming.
Angie
So let me ask you this. If Don and Eric called right now on your cell phone and said, we want to meet you in the White House lawn, you're going to fight me first and then you're going to fight
Hunter Biden
the other one, are you going Neutral territory. Go. Bring them out to Lafayette Park. I'll do it there. Or better yet, even, let's go to Lincoln park where I used to buy crack. We'll do it there. It's only two more blocks away. If they can make the walk. Oh, my God. Just the opportunity to punch either one of them in the face. Of course, it would be very demeaning for the public discourse. I get it. I'm 56. I'm out of shape. I swear to God, if they offered me a cage match, I was. Would take it in a second, because you know what? I literally. I would die before I tapped out. I would be dead, and I would have to feel the shame. But the chance to actually physically, which, by the way, I'm saying, in a, you know, a legally sponsored cage match or, you know, in an alley somewhere, by the way, you know, pay per view would be crazy on that. Right? I get you in my corner. You and Angie and Kylie in my corner.
Angie
You know, we would 100% be in your corner. 100%. Okay. In closing.
Hunter Biden
What? I would take so many peptides. The only thing I can. I do. I don't even know if I can do steroids.
Angie
I think you could do some peptides.
Hunter Biden
Do peptide.
Angie
Here's the thing. I would have my money on you.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
Because I think you're scrappy, and I think dumb and dumber are pussies.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Well, by the way, I guarantee you they've never thrown a punch in their life. No. And I guarantee you I'm stupid enough that I've thrown many punches in my life and got the shit kicked out of me, too, so just absolutely destroyed.
Angie
So as you've been out more in the public, which I thank you for that because I think it's a moment that I didn't know I needed after Mag had been going after you and addiction. And addiction hits close and personally with me. And to see you come back and be like you all, I love it. It's been so cathartic. What's next for you? I know you have this amazing art. I follow you on Instagram.
Hunter Biden
Thanks.
Angie
And it seems like you get a lot of serenity from your art, but what's next for you, Hunter?
Hunter Biden
So I have the.
Angie
There's your art.
Hunter Biden
Oh, yeah. Substack. Okay. Yep. So I'm. Do you guys do Subsack?
Angie
We have a substack.
Hunter Biden
Oh, you do? Yeah.
Angie
You know what? We'll substack live.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Yeah. Y. Yeah, Definitely. Well, yeah, that's what they say. So I'VE written a lot over the course of that seven years. Yeah, yeah. And so I'm putting it out on Substack is a. As I'm writing and revising and it's kind of like the first draft, but I'm going to put it out like once a week on Substack. But it tells the whole story. Like the whole thing. Yeah. Incredible. Yeah. And so. But the biggest thing that I'm doing is number I'm trying to set up an aftercare program, a free aftercare program for starting in la because I think it's the missing link in recovery care. People go through a 30 day rehab which is necessary and then they get out and they go back to the same exact situation that they were in before. And a lot of people don't have access to the kind of aftercare or continuous treatment that, that other people have. And also insurance, you know, it's 30 days and then you're out. And so that's one thing with a group called Peak Path Health, but the other thing that I'm starting that I hope is out and up and running by the time this comes out is if you go to Hunter Biden Recovery, I'm going to start a thing. I want a million people in recovery and I want or the people that love them. And it's almost like a story corps where you go share your experience, strength and hope and tell your story anonymously the same way that you would. And it's not in any way a replacement for a meeting, but in the same way that we do in the program. And the reason that I believe that is one of the things that you just said about why you talk about you and Josh talk about it so openly. Because we have to be destigmatized. How can something that is impacting 50 million people on a daily basis here in the United States have any stigma to it? Why isn't that? We don't talk about it openly with everybody. And part of it is the shame is that people carry around the shame of, of just the failure to get sober, just the failure to be substance free. The 70 to 80% people relapse at some point. And there's so much shame in that because you feel. And the other part of it is too is I think what you alluded to is addiction is a family disease. The hardest part is not on the attic. I mean at the end day, the of of the day it is so painful. But the largest pain is on the family. The thing that the shame that comes from that is not that which is necessarily like the things that I did in addiction. The biggest shame was not being there for my daughter. You know, the biggest shame was not being present in their lives for that period of time after having been the only. Not the only a really present father. And then I just then was gone for two years and not knowing where I was. For somebody that's 17 years old or whether you were 22 at the time, like my daughter's age is. Or is it just. It's so hard. It's so hard. It's so hard. The idea of them asking, why. Why are you choosing that and not me? Like, why are you showing. Not showing up for me? And. But you're. But I can't get you on the phone. I can't. You're not responding to my text. And it's heartbreaking. And that's the shame that I talk about. That's the shame that is like trying to repair that. And. And if, you know, these are the
Angie
things that we need to educate the public about. Because I had a situation similar with Josh and our boys where Josh would relapse. Because like you said, relapse is a part of it. Like, if you have cancer, a lot of people go relapse cancer and then they get into remission. The same thing with addiction, boat diseases. We need to destigmatize this so that mothers or fathers that are married to the other spouses and addicts can. Can speak to their children in a way where the children are told, this isn't about you. Like I used to tell my boys, like, your dad is. Has problems and he had problems before you were born, and they have nothing to do with you. And I think that there's just. I mean, there's so many things I want us to work on and fix if we didn't have a batshit crazy president. But I think in the background, we can be working on these things because really hurts. But I will say this, and I never thought I would say this. I remember the first time I went to a family week with Josh. There was this lady had to go to this al. And I mean, this lady said, I'm so grateful for my husband's addiction because I have a more depth and all stuff. And I was sitting there and I thought, fuck this bitch. I cannot believe she's saying that. I fucking hate this disease. I hate my husband.
Hunter Biden
I hate her.
Angie
I. Everybody in here, because I was just mad. I was full of rage. She was right. I am grateful for what Josh and I went through and I'M grateful that my sons learned conflict resolution skills. I hate that they got hurt. But life is painful. Life is disappointing. And what you showed your girls is that I had conflict and I hurt you. And that felt like abandonment. But I got better because ultimately I loved you more than I did that. And I just think it's such an important story because it's such a painful, painful disease and it just affects so many people and so many people don't know how to talk about it in a way that's healing or therapeutic or allowing people this space like, you know, a friend of mine will come. I fucking hate my husband. Oh, I've been there. Just tell me how much you hate him. You kind of have to get through those steps to get to the other side of it.
Hunter Biden
Yeah, well, that's it, is it, you know, the. And I don't care what program that you go to or what it is, is that one of the things though, that I learned is that, you know the steps that you go through, that it has one goal and that's at the end for you to be able to be of service to someone who's still sick and suffering. And it's selfish. And I'm not saying that like, oh, because I want to be a saint and go help people. Because what you realize when you finally actually get it is that the only thing that keeps you out of your addict brain is doing something for somebody else. And so it almost becomes an addiction in an incredibly positive way. And it just kind of like self perpetuates. And so I say also all the time is that I'm grateful for all of it for the first time in my life. And what they did for me was they so completely exposed me, so completely destroyed any sense of privacy or any expectation of privacy more than I, and I, and I. And I don't say this like, oh, woe is me. But more than anybody that I think in the history of at least politics,
Angie
for real, no question.
Hunter Biden
Every single email, every single text message, every single photograph, every single voicemail, the heartbreaking ones, the out of context ones, the one where I call so and so a bitch and I do this. And I mean, just like the things, like everything. And the one thing they didn't find is any crime as it relates to bribery or me benefiting from my father or anything like that. What they found was somebody, but the whole life and part of which was a story about the consequences of a really, really deep, dark addiction. And the thing that it did for me though was I had to Make a choice. Do I get out of bed and live or do I stay here and die? And I chose one day to get out of bed and live. And I've come to this place where, like, what are you gonna say about me that hasn't already been said? Like, literally, what are you gonna say? And it's an incredible liberation. It really is. I feel like I'm not running for anything. Nobody in my family's running for anything. You know, I can say whatever the hell I want responsibly because I think that you should be responsible just if you're a human being. But what I got a chance to do, I'm gonna get a million stories because those are the things that saved my life in recovery, is when you realize, like, oh, I wasn't the only person to do that. I like your example of that. I remember saying this one time to somebody, and somebody was telling me, well, it's a disease. It's just like cancer. I said, except for the fact that people in remission from cancer don't end up in a hotel room with a hooker.
Angie
I used to say that shit to Josh. Yeah, exactly. Different people that cancer are not hiding drugs.
Hunter Biden
Two thousand bucks worth of crack, you know, that's it. So it's a little bit different. Yeah, but that's why it's so painful. It is. That's why it's so painful, because you're like, oh, my God. And I always say that, you know, addiction is a Never an excuse, but at least if you can keep your heart open, it's an explanation.
Angie
I agree with that. That I've said that to myself a million times, because forgiveness is really hard.
Hunter Biden
Hard.
Angie
It's so. It was so hard for me to forgive Josh. It was really, really difficult. And I finally gave myself permission to not make a decision. And that was really liberating because I'm the type of person, like, okay, like, I had this Al Anon sponsor once, and she was like, you just need to pray about it. And I was like, I'm an atheist.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
She's like, well, you just need to pray. I'm like, I'm not going to pray, but I need to make a decision. We need to have a plan. I was really type A about, like, solving Josh's problems. So the first time, I sent him to rehab. Rehab?
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
He goes off to Arizona. I send him there, I leave, and I'm like, on the plane. Come back for family week. And I think, nailed it. Got this under control. We're going to go back and Live happily ever after. You know what that did?
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
He gets. He gets. He graduates from rehab or gets really. He gets a taxi and goes to the Phoenix airport, has the taxi driver pull over and buy him him and he goes in and buys a beer.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
After 30 days, when I found that out, I was mad about that singular beer for years.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
I was so mad about that singular beer because I couldn't understand it. I could not understand in my not addict brain that somebody could go spend 30 days at some expensive rehab.
Hunter Biden
I'm sorry, I'm laughing.
Angie
I know.
Hunter Biden
I mean, I've done like 10 times worse than that. And Josh, you're full of shit. It wasn't one beer. Totally full of. If we're going to be really open with each other, then once think out you felt about six, right?
Angie
Then I. Then I think you went and got a bunch of Percocets. I mean, truth be told, but probably that's it.
Hunter Biden
You get tight in the. In the. The worst possible moment. Like literally. I mean, it's. You hear story and that's what the stories are for. Not as some kind of like drunk, a log where everybody can come. But what you realize is that you're not alone. Because as hard as it is for you to understand, think of his poor addled brain trying to explain it to himself. And then you don't. And then you lie about it and then you hide it, and then you have that you wake up and you have all the shame over the fact that you're lying. And so then you're even more alone. And then you're isolated. And then the only thing that can get you out of your isolation is one thing that, that always worked for you. A drink or a drug. Yeah, that's the thing that people don't understand either, is that why did I use drugs? Because they fucking worked. They worked at first. They did what they were supposed to do. They got me out of this sense of angst and anxiety and fear. All fear based. All fear based. Like. Like since I was a kid, I was afraid. And whether it was from trauma, whether it was from things. But I was that kid that was afraid to ask the girl to dance. I was afraid of what they would think of me. I was afraid to get up and answer the question in school. I was afraid to do public speaking. And by the way, and you realize too, is that. You know what? I wasn't the only one that was afraid. But I figured out how to deal with it. Not when I was that little, but. But at some Point it became the answer to all of my problems until it became all of my problem. And anyway. And what you realize is when you talk to other people, when you talk openly about it, you realize how not alone you are. Because one of the things that addiction does, it makes you feel that you're completely alone. That you're terminally unique. That like, like you gotta be the only guy that ever left rehab and went and got a beer. How fucked up do I have to be to have done that to my wife? I'm going home to see my sons. Like how horrible human being do I have to be to have done that? They just put up with all of the thing that got me to this rehab. I get in a taxi and the first thing I do is betray their trust. It makes you feel this big. And then the only thing you can do for not feeling that big is your brain. Literally your brain chemistry, not your emotions, not something you choose. Your brain chemistry is saying you're going to die if you don't take care of this. And I know the way not to die. And all it is is a right at the corner instead of a left to access to your answer on every street corner in America. A beer.
Angie
You know what I read to help
Hunter Biden
me understand or for me, a bottle of Smirnoff out of a plastic bottle.
Angie
Addiction sits in the part of the brain, it's called the hypothalamus. And that's where the fight or flight reflexes. So for an addict it literally kicks in the fight or flight reflex. And I am such a pragmatist and an evidence based person. When I understood the science behind it and I understood that, that researchers had researched addict's brain and what it ignited and that it was literally a fight or flight reflex that so many addicts relapse because they feel like it's a survival. It taps into the most lizard part of the brain.
Hunter Biden
That's exactly right.
Angie
And so that was really therapeutic for me to know. But again, so many people don't know this. And if people knew a lot of the facts surrounding this, it's still fucking hard to forgive an addict. Because it is. I will say this, when you were talking about selfish that you like to help people. This woman who helped me understand addiction, she said, she said, I tell my husband all the time. Her husband was in recovery. Addiction is the most selfish disease on the planet because when they're using, it's all about them. And then when they're in recovery, it's all about the recovery. But it's true.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
And. But the recovery.
Hunter Biden
Melissa's down there watching this.
Angie
I know. We gotta run.
Hunter Biden
No, no, no. I didn't mean that. I meant, like, she's got ideas.
Angie
Yes. So selfish. Exactly. But I do think that it's a story that we need to scream from the rooftops. And I think MAGA did you the biggest favor for your recovery because there's no secret that you could keep Hunter. And secrets make people relapse.
Hunter Biden
Yeah. Well, I'll tell you, okay, so one of the reasons is not just because we both agree you gotta strip away the stigma. We gotta talk about it more. Why do we have to talk about it more? Because I think that there's a solution that is as much scientific as it is the way in which we've figured out how to cobble together a support system for people in recovery, whatever kind of group that you go to, because the community is really, really important in hearing their stories. But the other part of it is because if 50 million Americans are suffering from a disease that causes more. More death and destruction than all the other diseases combined and causes more destruction of the family unit than all of the other diseases combined. Like I said, families aren't breaking up because. Or, you know, husbands and wives getting divorces and kids feeling ostracized and never wanting to speak to their parent again because of. Because of hearing loss. I mean, really, it's not this thing. Why don't we not have more scientific understanding of it? Because instead of ascribing a medical answer to it with deep, deep research, we've ascribed a moral failing to it. We have said. And one of the reasons that we keep doing that is because I believe what is the root of so many of our problems? Because people are making a fuckload of money off of it. Tons. Billions of billions and trillions of dollars on both ends.
Angie
On the pharmaceutical end and the rehab racket.
Hunter Biden
Pharmaceutical end, rehab racket. And then the alcohol totally, you know, I mean, I said, everybody. The thing that almost the thing that truly, truly, truly came this close to killing me each time was alcohol. I was drinking a handle of vodka a day along with smoking crack. But the only drug other than benzodiazepams that you can die from withdrawing from is alcohol. The alcohol is the hardest thing to stop, and it's the most ubiquitous. You go anywhere, and as soon as you do that, then you're back. All bets are off as it relates to everything else. But also, alcohol causes the most violence, causes the most destruction, it causes the most mayhem. Is that it's the.
Angie
It's the worst.
Hunter Biden
It is the worst thing.
Angie
Worse than being around a drunk person.
Hunter Biden
So if we all talk about it, we all take it, you know, well, what does it mean? You know, where is it in the brain that this is occurring? I think that there's been such incredible advances as it relates to the. To the potential of figuring out those things. You know, everybody. A lot of people in recovery are kind of like, well, you don't. It's not just about, you know, like, hoping for the day that you can take a pill. And you know what I say, I hope there's a day you can take a pill that you're no longer an addict. You saved hundreds of millions of lives over the course of that. I mean, literally. I mean, because remember when I say save lives, your life, my daughter's lives, totally. To give back those years of, like, you know, whether, you know, like you said, like, I'm grateful for it all. Well, I would also be grateful if I didn't have to go through it to a certain degree, too. Like, I am really grateful for it, but it's, you know, I wouldn't recommend it, you know, and so. But that's why. That's why we need to talk about it. That's why you like moving it from not just kind of like the, you know, discussion that happens in the background or between compatriots that, you know, feel like, fuck it, I can talk about it. To really, really talking about. I want to have this place where people can come and share their stories so that not just people that are in addiction can read them, but the people that love them that are trying to find out the why. The question to the why. I think it would be really cool, right? Like a storyboard for recovery, you know,
Angie
I think it's cool, and I think it's so needed. And I think that it's a great story arc to the one thing that people tried to define you as being this horrible shortcoming and something that you come back and help millions of other people be cool. Wouldn't it really cool, Hunter?
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
I could talk to you all day. Let's collab again.
Hunter Biden
Yeah.
Angie
Especially on this addiction stuff. And I.
Hunter Biden
We get Josh on.
Angie
Oh, my gosh. The next time he's in one beer.
Hunter Biden
Josh,
Angie
you and Josh would. Y' all should do a recovery podcast.
Hunter Biden
Really.
Angie
I mean, seriously, he is so. Because he has. He comes at it at such a similar angle to you do. He just talks about very openly. Hunter Biden. Thank you so much.
Hunter Biden
I'm such a fan.
Angie

Hosts: Jennifer Welch & Angie “Pumps” Sullivan
Guest: Hunter Biden
In this candid, irreverent, and deeply personal episode, Angie Sullivan (joined at moments by Jennifer Welch) sits down for an in-studio conversation with Hunter Biden. Known for their comedic, progressive voices rooted in a red state, the hosts and Hunter dive into Hunter’s confrontations with the MAGA right, addiction and recovery, the failures of the Biden administration (notably Merrick Garland’s leadership at DOJ), the “closetocracy” in the GOP, and the real price of shame, family, and public scrutiny. Humor, frankness, and cathartic honesty define the episode, as Hunter peels back layers of political and personal myth while taking both Trump and his own Democratic party to task.

"[Addiction is] the great connector, and it's the thing that very, very, very few people talk about openly."
— Hunter Biden [11:07]
"They tied me to a post, they threw their fruits and vegetables at me, then they lit me on fire, and then they whipped me...But I still had a platform and I was still standing."
— Hunter Biden [09:38]
"I was drinking a handle of vodka a day along with smoking crack. But the only drug other than benzodiazepams that you can die from withdrawing from is alcohol."
— Hunter Biden [75:21]
"Do I get out of bed and live or do I stay here and die? And I chose one day to get out of bed and live. And I’ve come to this place where, like, what are you gonna say about me that hasn’t already been said?"
— Hunter Biden [65:08]
The conversation is raw, honest, angry, and full of bracing, often hilarious, insight—combining Hunter's self-deprecating candor with Angie’s cutting humor and sharp progressive critique. Family, failure, secrets, and redemption wind through the political theater as both the hosts and guest argue that, far from being an elite stain, Hunter’s addiction and recovery make him relatable to millions.
Hunter emerges not as a victim or a villain, but as a wounded, still-fighting survivor who sees the weaponizing of shame—in both addiction and culture war politics—as America’s true disease. And he’s determined, in his words and new projects, to do something about it.
