Welcome to IHIP News. We are live today. Pumps and I are in studio. There's a lot, a lot to cover later on. In a few minutes, we are going to have Senator Amy Klobuchar join us. Cory Booker had a scheduling conflict. Obviously, there's a lot going on at his job. But I want to show you all in pumps as clip from JD Vance yesterday. And then I want us to dissect it. Play the clip. Because, you know, when I think about, like, what, what is the essence of masculinity?
Pumps
You could answer this in so many.
Unknown Host
Different ways, but when I think about me and my guy friends, we really like to tell jokes to one another. Okay, so here's what I have to say about this. I've never seen such a defensive group of people about something. They're constantly having to defend their masculinity. And he talks about men feeling like they have to suppress their masculinity. And I want to make the argument that J.D. vance is a failed drag queen. Put up the image. Okay? I think what he's suppressing are his feminine instincts, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You know, we know that he is dying to pop a smokey eye and so show the eyeliner. So I think the only thing this man is suppressing is his inner drag queen and his strong desire to go from eyeliner to a full blown sexy smokey eye. Because the amount of energy that the right wing and that MAGA men have to spend on defense, they don't play offense. They're constantly having to defend their masculinity when they are. You know, I look at JD Vance, I can see that he's a man. It doesn't enter my mind if he's super manly or not manly enough. It's just how much they play defense on their masculinity is really hilarious.
Unknown Guest
Well, they've created the distraction that they are. That masculinity is under attack. And it is not under attack. What is under attack is misogyny and sexism. And I just have two comments about J.D. vance and masculinity. If you are so masculine, why on the planet are you kowtowing not only to Donald Trump and Elon Musk, but to Vladimir Putin and wearing terribly unblended eyeliner? And my second point is, I don't think he has any male friends because he says, when I get together with my male friends, we like to joke. What are you talking about? Like, stop. You're a grown man. Like, they sit around and do jokes that makes no sense to me. He is someone that has a children that are of half Indian descent, his wife is of half Indian descent, and he cannot defend them against the maga cult. And he is, in my mind, an extremely beta male.
Unknown Host
And I, I mean, for me, like for them, whether they're alpha, beta, you know, zeta, nobody ever really thinks about this except for them because they're constantly on defense. And I think that there is an argument to be made that they're suppressing something more. And it's not that there's some attack on white men, but they live in this really delusional world. And I want to play for you this clip of the President of the United States, convicted felon Donald Trump. This is just yesterday an approval rating.
Pumps
Today of 71 and another one of 69.
Unknown Host
I have not heard of those numbers before. So it's. We're going to fight very hard. Okay. So I think that you remember when he was during his felony trial, he had somebody just print out positive news articles for him because he wasn't allowed screen time like a toddler. And he would go through his notebook and just read positive articles about himself. I think that they just make stuff now. They probably have the White House has a photoshopper that says approval rating 71. Another poll is 69. Because he's all about metrics, right? And they put it in his notebook to keep screen time away from him. Because I think what's so scary right now is I think he's the puppet. I think we, Donald Trump, we were all so fearful of him. I now more fearful of the force behind him. I think he's a Trojan horse because the fact that he's getting up there and saying that tells me that he's surrounded by people that are just feeding him.
Unknown Guest
Right? Absolutely true. I have long since been more concerned about how craven and vile Elon Musk is because he is more organized and he is more determined and he seems to be able to stay on track. Same with J.D. vance. Donald Trump. All you have to do is say, oh my gosh, did you see that shark over there? Oh, yeah, sharks windmill. You know, the flight of ideas. Stay on task.
Unknown Host
Wait. Elon Musk yesterday at CPAC to say he's organized and on task. We're watching like somebody completely spiral with a chainsaw and he. And sunglasses and he's barely able to put together sentences. Maybe like a year ago or two years ago, he was more together presenting. But what I'm seeing lately out of him is he's basically Gaslighting the American public, picking fights with astronauts that are far more educated and smart than he is running around inside with sunglasses on, tripping balls on ketamine with a chainsaw to try to detract from the fact that he is robbing the United States of America and trying to get the people whom he's robbing to be mad at the very agenc help them or keep them safe. So I don't know that Elon Musk can be in the organized position anymore, but I do think he's surrounded by scarily and we'll ask Senator Klobuchar when she gets on here. Putin, absolutely. Which I think he's organized. I think he's played a couple decades long game to the United States. I think Peter Teal controls J.D. vance in the exact same manner that Elon Musk controls Donald Trump.
Unknown Guest
I believe, like you do, that Donald Trump is being babysat by Elon Musk and Elon Musk, in my opinion, and Putin are playing the world domination game. They want to turn American citizens against other Americans. They have demonized a whole faction of people, immigrants. Now J.D. vance is running around in Europe talking exactly like Putin would want him to, like verbatim. And so I think it, a lot of this in the center is Vladimir Putin. And I, I think it's obvious as the nose on my face. And they have taken, Putin has taken through whatever message or Fox or whoever you want to put the blame on. You have Reagan Republicans, national security, rah, rah, rah Republicans that are now saying they have approval of Putin and the United States leaving NATO. That is how much he has turned them inside out. And it is absolutely terrifying.
Unknown Host
Every morning the happiest person in Trump's America is Vladimir Putin.
Unknown Guest
Absolutely.
Unknown Host
And the fact that all of these national security Republicans like Marco Rubio, now I understand why Trump called him Lil Marco. I get it. I totally get it. Because he, he knew that he could own him. He knew that he could control him. I remember when Marco Rubio first took the national stage, he offered the speech after one of Obama's State of the Union and all of the conservatives were like, oh my God, this is our guy. He's going to be the next big Republican. And as he's given this speech, he has like really bad dry mout and he keeps reaching over for this Poland Springs water and like downing it. But he's trying to keep his face on the camera. This guy has been face planning for decades and it's no surprise that he ended up with the most Incompetent, dangerous people on the planet. I could tell from that water speech that it wasn't going to end well for little Marco. Kylie, is Senator Klobuchar here yet? Not yet. She'll be here shortly. Okay, let us know when. When she gets in. All right, let's look at some comments from some YouTube lives. Seth, can you pop any comments up? Rubio is a wet disgrace. He totally is storm rising. Marco. Rubio is a total disgrace. Lil Marco, let's see. Rubio is going to crack. He's in way too deep. Caroline. I completely agree. I agree, too.
Pumps
I.
Unknown Host
He looks like a little hostage trotting around. And, you know, he thought State Department diplomat, right? I'm going to be doing cool stuff with cool people.
Unknown Guest
I'm going to be respected.
Unknown Host
And then he walks into this meeting in Saudi Arabia and gets hustled by these former KGB agents that own him before he even took his first, first breath of oxygen in that room.
Unknown Guest
And also, one thing I want to point out is the new senior advisor to the State Department to Little Marco is Big Balls from Elon Musk's team.
Unknown Host
Big Balls.
Unknown Guest
So Little Marco is now reporting to Big Balls.
Unknown Host
Yeah. So somebody asked me in here if I'm still sick. I'm finally feeling better. I. There's no question in Trump's America, I've been unable to kick this. My voice is still hoarse, but it's because I'm just here fighting for democracy with you all every day. Let's see what else we have here. MAGA is uneducated. Nancy says that. Yeah, totally. I completely agree with that. Multi Stacker says changing shopping habits is effective money talks. I completely agree with her on that. And I. I've saw that Target's most recent sales report has dramatically decreased since they stopped their dei. And I've seen a lot of stuff on social media about people boycotting Target. And so I agree with this commenter. Here's Joanne says, what happens to Musk if Trump is gone? This is a great question. And I think about this all the time, Joanne, because I. I feel like then they put J.D. vance, and I feel like J.D. vance would still be owned by the same oligarchy that is owning Trump right now.
Unknown Guest
The difference would be, though, is all these MAGAs are so loyal to Donald Trump, will that translate to J.D. vance, who has zero charisma. So that, that will be the question. Will the MAGA base galvanize around Vance like they have Trump? And I don't know if that's true.
Unknown Host
And do they Care, right. If the watcher.
Unknown Guest
Sorry, sorry guys. My buttons are loud.
Unknown Host
Yeah.
Unknown Guest
Do they care at this point? Do they care? But here's I keep thinking, thinking to myself at some point, you know, Trump's on there going, oh well, I'm, we're trying to get down the cost of inflation because of Biden. That's a lie. Inflation is up because of the decisions that you're making. Prices are going to continue to rise at such a level. I think even the MAGA base has got to be able to figure it out.
Unknown Host
Let me tell you this. So when I'm not a podcaster, I have been an interior designer for over 25 years. I get about four to five emails per day from vendors that are doing a pre price hike that will be effective March 15. And it says due to the potential of tariffs and the, you know, basically the business is not have being on stable footing economically because of the potential of tariffs. Because even American made furniture, some of the parts, if the furniture is made in America, come from Mexico, come from Canada, come from overseas. A lot of parts come from China. So there's already a 20% price hike in the interior design world which affects home building. We have a housing crisis. I think we're going to see inflation through the roof. So just his talk about tariffs, having them taking away, tweeting about them talking about in press conference, it is going to completely any sort of inflation mitigation that Biden was doing, which was effective, which was the best in the world. Postco, it's, it's gone now. We have the senator. Oh my gosh.
Unknown Guest
Right.
Pumps
Hey.
Unknown Host
Hey. Hello, Senator Klobuchar. How are you?
Pumps
Oh, I'm great. You know, we are voting till 4.30am how's work going? Oh, it is, it's great. You know, you want to be at your workplace voting at 4:30am how are your co workers? With my co workers, Rand Paul, Josh Hawley, me. And then I got here and had three hours sleep and then got on with you guys. So there we are.
Unknown Guest
We appreciate you coming in.
Pumps
So I look, you know, senatorial, made myself some coffee. Kind of hearing about the interior design and wishing there was more on that IKEA bookcase behind me. That would look better. I can try to go like that.
Unknown Host
It looks good. I think did a great job stacking the books with the bowl center. Okay. Senator Kachar.
Pumps
Yes.
Unknown Host
We're all freaking out. All right. I'm just, let's just, let's really have a talk about this. We're all watching this. We're watching. Marco Rubio, your former Senate colleague, looks like a hostage. He looks like he was completely hustled by these two former KGB agents in Saudi Arabia. Trump is out there lying left and right spouting Putin propaganda, pro Kremlin talking points. It feels like. It feels like we are going to be allies with Russia and China and that we're going to abandon NATO. What do you think about that?
Pumps
This whole thing has been awful. I mean, it has been just. To me, it just has. I'm someone who's been to Ukraine three times. I've actually been in the presidential offices with President Zelensky, which are, by the way, surrounded by sandbags and he's bunkered in there as he stands up. We all remember that first day when he went down to the street corner when everyone counted him out and his country out and he said three simple words, we are here. That has been true ever since. And the thought that we have a president now that claims that Zelensky started the war. I have been at the mass graves in Bucha. I've been at the burned out apartment buildings in airpaint. This has been a horror show. And this is Vladimir Putin, who has shot down passenger planes, he has killed journalists, he has imprisoned his political opponents. And now Donald Trump, in his first month in office, has decided, yeah, there's always negotiated settlements to war. That's okay. New president comes in, you have peace talks, you try to work this out. But what does he do? He excludes Zelensky from the talks. He basically sells out the store by, through his vice president and through his defense minister, basically saying, well, no, Ukraine, you can never get in NATO and hey, no, sorry, you're going to have to give up the territory that has been yours for years. And then he embarks on these peace talks through his secretary of state. So my own view is, what is their hope? Well, there's hope in Europe. They've given over $50 billion in defense spending, over $100 billion in aid in total. There is hope that there will be people in Congress, not just me, not just Democrats, who are going to stand up with Republicans and say, no, we're going to, we're in this for democracies. We're not going to be on the side Vladimir Putin, the thug and his pals, North Korea and Iran and China. And so there are Republicans who have been speaking out, which is one of the first times otherwise they've been acquiescing in everything Donald Trump wants. So that is the hope here, that Congress, as the Article 1 in the Constitution. We're number one, not Donald Trump, that we stand up when we stand up for Ukraine.
Unknown Guest
Angie, when you're talking about Ukraine, you have these, I'm seeing now, misinformation because Donald Trump has, you know, tweeted, because he governs via social media on his pathetic truth Social. He's saying things like, zelensky's a dictator. The people don't like him. He's. He didn't start the. I mean, he's acting like Vladimir Putin didn't start the war. And I see increasingly on these sites that people believe this disinformation, which we know they have a real appetite for disinformation. But what is the best way to educate the American people that are willing to listen to the truth about this is not how this goes. I mean, Europe is meeting behind our back, and they should be. They should be concerned. So how do we combat that at this stage?
Pumps
Well, I think, first of all, people know when things are lies. They know what Russia is up to on the Internet. I post a picture say of me in a Ukraine T shirt last weekend that I'd gotten it with our Ukrainian community. And of course, I got a bunch of people saying, yeah, that's great. 30,000 of them. Millions of views, 24,000 negative comments saying, wait a minute, pictures of me with John McCain, which were valid pictures when we went and met with Ukrainian soldiers in a bunker. And it said on them, like, Amy is funding Nazis in Ukraine or things like that. So they have been doing this for years. And I think people in a lot of the countries bordering Russia, like, say, Estonia and Lithuania and Latvia, they're. They're kind of been schooled on this. They know when Russia is messing around in their democracy, our citizens have to realize that that is going on as well, that it's one of the tools that they use misinformation and false claims to try to get you on the side. So I think most people, if you look at any newspaper, including your local newspaper, you can get facts, you can get the truth. Any kind of a normal news organization where you can tune in your podcast, you're able to find out some information. So people have just got to not believe that stuff that they just see pop up on their Internet about Zelensky or Ukraine. Because I'm telling you, it's either coming from Russia, it's coming from the Trump people who want to mess around with where peoples are in this. And the words that they are, some of the things they are saying are exactly what Donald Trump has said, and it's on all of us to say no. And I just saw the recent polls today, where finally a bunch of people that voted for Donald Trump are starting to say, hey, wait a minute. I thought he was going to bring costs down, but instead we got chaos up, corruption, corruption up, and the cost of eggs are up. And they're starting to figure it out only a month in, because I understand they want to change. I had, like, 10% of my state voted for me and Donald Trump, so I actually understand where they were coming from. And now they're starting to see, wait a minute, I don't want to be in. I don't want to be going to bed with Vladimir Putin. I don't want to be waking up with Russia as our ally instead of Scandinavia. I don't want to spend my time talking about buying Greenland. I want to get a president that's actually going to do something about my child care and about how much housing is and rent is. And I thought that's what he said he was going to do. And he is doing exactly the opposite with those tariffs. That's going to bring prices up, Firing people working on their nuclear arsenal and avian flu, which is contributing, by the way, to these egg prices. All of these things that are getting him headlines and getting him attention every day are actually setting us backwards.
Unknown Host
Senator Klobuchar, I appreciate that you think that a portion of the American public can identify lies, but I want to share something devastating with you.
Pumps
Okay.
Unknown Host
I was playing pick pickleball on Sunday, and at the end of the match, we were kind of hanging out, and this woman who's 10, 15 years older than me, politics come up. Elon Musk comes up. Ukraine comes up. She starts spouting Putin propaganda, defending Putin bashing. This is in Oklahoma City. She starts bashing Vladimir Zielinski. And I asked her, I'm like, where did you get all this information from? Like, this is completely pro Kremlin information. She says, well, you're not going to like it, but I got it from Tucker Carlson. And I'm like, well, you're not going to like this, but Tucker Carlson is on Vladimir Putin's payroll, and there is just a portion of the population that we're all going to have to deal with. They like the lies. And it's a bigger, bigger, bigger portion. Before you came on, I showed a clip of Donald Trump just yesterday taking a victory lap because he believes, Senator Klobuchar, that his approval rating is 71% or 69%. He gave he quoted two things, which this tells me in our listener that he still has the people that run around with him, that making picture books like he did when he was on his felony trial, so you can sift through those because they have to limit his screen time, much like people have to limit their children's screen time. So if they're trying to limit reality from him, then we have to ask ourselves, Senator, who is in charge? And we all know, and you have access to a lot more tea than we do, that Musk was having chit chats with Putin over the last couple of years. We know that Peter Till has completely, fully indoctrinated the vice president, United States, J.D. vance, who's been nothing short of an abject disappointment. And it feels like to everybody that now Donald Trump is the puppet and these oligarchs are in charge. So my question to you and teeing that up is, number one, how do we address. And as a politician, you're going to have to address that. A lot of your constituents like trafficking in misinformation and disinformation. They like it, they have an appetite for it because it feeds something in them that we need to deal with as a country. And number two, what the hell are we going to do about Elon Musk? Yesterday's running around with a chainsaw, clearly tripping on something with sunglasses on, acting like a nut at cpac, a total nut. And we remember what happened when Obama wore a tan suit. I'm surprised Fox News lived through that.
Pumps
You know, well, I'm glad you left me with these two softballs right now. So I'll start with the negative information online and just the horrific, I think, you know, they've set the algorithms so that negative cells, which is just so corrosive to our kids, so corrosive to everybody. And I've been taking on these boligarchs and these tech companies for a long time have the scars to show forth. They've spent over $300 million in one ad campaign against one of my bills. It says they just couldn't put their own products at the top of their search engines all the time. Or I've got the bill with Ted Cruz that says they have to take off non consensual pornography. Like kids that think they're getting a boyfriend, right? So they send their photo and then it shows up going all over the Internet. They've got to take that stuff down in 48 hours even when it's AI created over 20 suicides a year. 20 suicides a year. This is from the FBI when it was run by someone who knew what he was doing. Over 20 suicides a year just from that revenge porn. And so these things, they have stopped a lot of these things. They've rejected them. And I'm telling you right now, the best way to get at them. You're going to be surprised by this. There's a law called section 230. It's the name of the law, and it says that they can't be liable for anything. You know, a kid gets a fentanyl lace pill online because they think it's a Percocet dies. They're not liable for that. That they never police their platform. You could never allow that on any other kinds of form of media. So if you make sure that they can be liable, that people can sue them. Like when that plane flipped over in Toronto, a lot of why those passengers are alive right now is that there had been suits in the past. There'd been safety rules put in place about things like airline seats and what you had to do to keep people safe. That's not happening online at all, whether it comes to bad information, whether it comes to drugs, whether it comes to pornography. So I actually, I truly believe in my heart, if you want to make the Internet a safer place. And of course, the Rollog Archs that were sitting at that inauguration, I know I, I ended up being in charge of it and riding in a car with Joe Biden and Donald Trump from the White House to the Capitol. The only person in the history of America just alone, the three of us.
Unknown Host
Oh, my God, I wish we could just gossip about this stuff all the time.
Pumps
Okay, so I know what we can do, and that is to make those companies liable no matter who they suck up to, no matter how much power and how much money they throw around. So that's first thing now on Elon Musk. He's, he's, he's a prologar of his own making there, as we all know. First of all, there are many suits. And you gotta believe, as hard as this last few weeks have been, when I look at this, I look at us as fighting at three levels. Fighting in the courts, fighting with Congress, and that means oversight and trying to get people on the record. I know that sounds boring, but it matters for the future. It's almost like evidence of what they say they're going to do. These nominees. We're, as I said up until 4am fighting to say, why do you need tax cuts? That was a vote. We actually had a vote. And why do you need tax cuts for people making over $500 million a year? And they all voted that we had to have tax cuts for them. And we all voted that we didn't. Okay, that happened. And then the third thing is we have with our constituents because people are speaking out, they're breaking down the phone lines, they're sending emails. So when I look at Elon Musk, I look at the courts. The courts have already intervened several times, including Trump appointed judge in Bush and Reagan appointed judges. And they've said, no, you can't do that. He can't be rifling around in your personal data at the Treasury Department. I know it's not a satisfying answer, but it's real. Yesterday when Trump said, hey, I'm going to take over the Postal Service, I was trying to picture there, you know, as I'm sitting in the Senate with my colleagues at midnight. So it was like Musk going to be delivering the mail. Is he going to be getting a contract for his rockets to go into Lanesboro, Minnesota with their like grandma's packages for Easter? I'm trying to picture this. So we have the ability to take this on because under the Constitution. So you got the courts with the lawsuits. For instance, Postal Service already said we're going to sue in court because we were established by the Constitution. Elon Musk is not Senate confirmable. He has conflicts up the wazoo. He's getting money from one agency. I just saw one of the biggest attacks he's had is the safety group that works on regulating self driving cars that say they've decimated that division by 10%. It's called the National Traffic Safety Commission, something like that. That's an example, right? Because he's got all this money in that. He also has contracts for space. So you have things around that that are illegal that he's doing. He's involved in them. And then you finally have the people. And Elon Musk is down to the mid-30s in his poll numbers. Right? Two thirds of the people don't like that he's doing this. They get he's a billionaire, they don't think he should be there. Those people have to push at their own constituents, particularly Republicans. I think they know where I am on this and how I'm voting on this. But push on these Republicans and say, why are you letting this unelected billionaire run the government and be the king and stand behind the Resolute desk, which is the president's desk, and make all these edicts and orders and Run around with a chainsaw. Why are you doing that? Because guess what? I didn't sign up for this. I signed up like a lot of my constituents did. They said I wanted something new for bringing down housing prices. And by the way, we can go after some of these algorithms while they're ripping off you on rents and things like that. If he wants to play ball with us, we're ready to do it. Trump. Or why don't we have more child care? There's not enough available. Why don't we do something more on prescription drugs or people getting their claims denied from health insurance companies? We're ready to work with them. And I'm number one in the Congress before this one for bipartisan bills, number one in the country in the Senate for getting things done, number three for passing bills into law. So I'm not just like making this up. I have worked with all kinds of people. Marsha Blackburn. I could just go through the list because I try to find a way to find common ground so we can get one thing done. But if he's just going to be out there acting like he's king and literally putting a crown on his head, we're going to stand our ground. And our ground is really clear under the Constitution. So the Elon Musk question answer, just to make it a little shorter and less of a filibuster, take them on in the courts, take them on in Congress. Get our Republican colleagues so embarrassed because of their constituents, calling them, pushing them, asking them when they see them in the grocery store that they actually stand up and say, enough. It's hurting our constituents. And then finally, just, just the old fashioned way of calling Congress and the like.
Unknown Host
Senator Klobuchar, I, I like your optimism. I have a feeling that we need to be a kryptonite wall against them, that the days of bipartisanship are over. We are, we are in a very dark era and just are kind of, we're on the ground all the time with your base and we want to see you guys f them. We have had it up to our eyeballs. This is humiliating. It is dangerous. People are going to suffer and are already suffering this USAID and all of these things.
Pumps
And even, I mean, just to be really clear at home, they've just, they have some of these people who are so excited, young people in their first job and they just went in and decided, we're going to just cut everyone not based on merit. Like when a business comes in and says, we're going to stop this function. So these People need to find another job where they make some rational decisions about we're not going to make these things anymore in our business. But they've just basically across the board, with no warning, gotten rid of all these people. And we've already seen what can screw up with air travel, right as tragic and tragic this has been. And you start messing around and people are demoralized and they don't want to work for the government anymore. They don't go work for the government for tons of money. They go work for the government because they believe in something. And when you demoralize people like that, they're going to leave. That's one of my biggest problems because I don't have a lot of federal workers in my state compared to other places. But what I do have, ones that are getting funds are medical researchers that have developed incredible cures and treatments for cancer and people that help small farmers get loans. And this is what they do. This is. And so we've. It is all connected. They want this chaos and the corruption for their buddies. And you got to understand that they're looking for all this money so he can go out there with a chainsaw on a stage and impress his friends. But also, I'm talking about Musk. But also so that they get the money to give their tax cuts for these people that are billionaires. So we always say, when I was a prosecutor in my old job, we'd always say, when we're looking at a case, follow the money. Follow the money. Look where the money's going. Is the money going to you or is the money going to really rich people? And that's where you got the answer. And I don't. I mean, we are in this in such a big way. And I just want your listeners to understand that like every single day, three hours of sleep, like last night, we get how horrible this is. We are as frustrated as anyone. I was at last weekend when I was home, I was. I went to the Container Store. They're not bankrupt yet. Well, they kind of are. They have a store. And I was standing in line with my shopping cart with all this plastic boxes. And this woman, I didn't know her, she come up. She goes, hey, center, I. I know why you're here. And I go, it's Saturday. I'm just taking a few hours off, and I got to organize some. I've got these teas and this coffee and this. She goes, no, you're here because the whole world's out of control and you're trying to find Some control at the Container Store, trying to organize it. And I hadn't even thought about it. I'm like, that's exactly right. And I go home, I organize all these cabinets, and next weekend I'm back there again. Because it is a hard time, and you've got to take breaks and you gotta do some fun things. But you can never give up on our democracy. You think about three times through Civil war and through the Great Depression and World War II, there were people that never gave up. They said, okay, this is really bad. But I believe that we are in the greater good and that what unites us is bigger than what divides us, and that it is courageous to be with other people, even if we don't agree with them. So that's what I think every day. And I want your people to think this way, because otherwise we're lost. We cannot give in to what this guy is doing every single day. To distract. To get your intention to blow things up when we know there's a greater good in this country.
Unknown Host
Senator Klobuchar, keep fighting the good fight. Okay, well, remember, when they are trying to do want to want something out of you, remember all of these people surrounding the President. United States are doing Heil Hitler salutes.
Unknown Guest
Right?
Unknown Host
And we have to stand firm against this. This is a big moment in history. We're here for you. You' welcome to come on our podcast anytime.
Pumps
Great.
Unknown Host
We particularly would love to do a little gossip about your co workers, if you want to do that as therapy. If you don't want to go to the Container Store. We have a lot of questions about, like, Ted Cruz and some of the others, but that would just be a girl talk gossip hour. Okay, so just let us know, like, the greatest hits. All right. Good luck and Godspeed.
Unknown Guest
Yeah, thank you. Thank you.
Unknown Host
Okay. I mean, okay.
Unknown Guest
I just called her Amy, like a dumb.
Unknown Host
That's what. Okay, listen up, you guys. When we interviewed Barack Obama, I'm so nervous. This was at the DNC when we had Hope, right?
Unknown Guest
When Hope was still alive.
Unknown Host
So we're sitting there, and I'm, like, freaking out. I'm, like, looking at him going, that's Barack Obama. And we're like. I mean, he's like closer to me than Pump says right now. And I go, so, Barack, I mean.
Unknown Guest
You wanted to die?
Unknown Host
I was just like, I still think about it from time to time.
Unknown Guest
Like, like, sweat the whole night. Like, why did I do that?
Unknown Host
I just.
Unknown Guest
I follow Senator Klobuchar really closely, and so I feel like we're friends Even though we've never met. And so I just called her Amy like an asshole.
Unknown Host
Yeah. So, you know, I think we, let's just do a quick post show. You know, I, I hear her say, because what she has to do is go to the Senate and do things and she has to go there and in her mind, like I work with him where we can. This is the part where maybe it's because I'm not a senator or maybe I'm just a cynical twat. Both are possible. But my thing is when you see people doing a Heil Hitler salutes. We saw Steve Bannon do one yesterday. We saw Must do it at the inauguration. The president, Donald Trump, has never come out and said, we don't have space for this. I'm not going to allow this. We see the White House doing ASMR videos about capturing illegal immigrants. That's relaxing watching them get shipped off. And we see the cruelty. My stance is you, I'm not working with you on Jack. Until you get Elon Musk the out of here and reconcile all this Nazism, you, I'm not doing one thing with you. But that's probably why I'm not a senator.
Unknown Guest
That's what I was gonna say. I think that's probably why you're not in political office.
Unknown Host
But a lot of other things.
Unknown Guest
Right. Amazing to me is that they stayed there till 4:30 in the morning. And the Republicans would not bend on tax breaks for people making over $10 million a year. Now, we know there's cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare that they're making just haphazardly, but they're in there fighting for billionaires. I mean, I'm sorry, millionaires, people making $10 million or more.
Unknown Host
They're fighting for billionaires too.
Unknown Guest
Absolutely, they're fighting for billionaires. But her what she said. I didn't want to misrepresent what she said. But at some point, the working class, the people that are on using these social safety nets, and I hate it when people call them entitlement because if you've paid into Social Security, it's your money, but it's going to start hurting these people when they realize that the rich are getting richer and they're going to be losing benefits. I hope that's enough to smarten them up. Plus with X over 13, $14 in some places.
Pumps
So.
Unknown Host
Well, I think in many ways what they did last night was they put these people on record right. For their votes. And this is a fact. Donald Trump has created more national debt than any other president ever. 25% of the national debt was incurred by his first term. Everything else that he's wanting to do is only going to add more debt. One of the things that Elon Musk hasn't slashed at all is the interest payments on all of this debt. And, yeah, he's cut this, he's cut that. He's barely cut anything. Right. All he's done is harm people. But they will be adding trillions more dollars in debt so that all of the wealthiest of the wealthy in the United States of America can get more of a tax break. And meanwhile, fleecing, fleecing working class Americans who in large numbers voted for Trump, which is just horrible and embarrassing and just.
Unknown Guest
Well, it's interesting to me that while Doge has been cutting programs, Elon Musk has been awarded contract after contract. So just don't even get me started on him.
Unknown Host
All right, thank you guys for joining us live today. We went 40 minutes. Thank you all that commented. And I just want to say one little thing to those of you idiots in the comment section that say Trump 2024, I just want you to know it's 2025, dipshits. We'll see you guys later. It.

Angie Sullivan (02:03): "If you are so masculine, why on the planet are you kowtowing not only to Donald Trump and Elon Musk, but to Vladimir Putin and wearing terribly unblended eyeliner?"
2. Critique of Donald Trump's Approval Ratings and Behavior
Jennifer expresses skepticism about Donald Trump's reported approval ratings of 71% and 69%, suggesting these numbers are fabricated to manipulate public perception.
Jennifer Welch (03:46): "I think that you remember when he was during his felony trial, he had somebody just print out positive news articles for him because he wasn't allowed screen time like a toddler."
She further critiques Trump as a "puppet," emphasizing her fear of the forces controlling him rather than Trump himself.
Jennifer Welch (04:51): "I think he's the puppet. I think... we were all so fearful of him. I now more fearful of the force behind him."

The hosts shift focus to Elon Musk, criticizing his recent public appearances and questioning his stability and organizational skills. Jennifer humorously describes Musk's behavior as "spiraling with a chainsaw and sunglasses," contrasting it with his former composed demeanor.
Jennifer Welch (05:18): "Maybe like a year ago or two years ago, he was more together presenting. But what I'm seeing lately out of him is he's basically Gaslighting the American public..."

Senator Klobuchar emphasizes the resilience and hope within Europe amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia, highlighting bipartisan efforts to support democracy against authoritarian threats.
Senator Klobuchar (16:45): "There's hope in Europe. They've given over $50 billion in defense spending, over $100 billion in aid in total. There is hope that there will be people in Congress... who are going to stand up with Republicans and say, no, we're in this for democracies."
5. Combating Misinformation and Disinformation

6. The Role of Social Media and Big Tech
Jennifer critiques the influence of big tech companies and their role in perpetuating misinformation. She advocates for legal reforms, specifically targeting Section 230, to hold these platforms accountable for the content they host.
Jennifer Welch (26:18): "The best way to get at them is to make sure that they can be liable, that people can sue them."
Angie echoes the sentiment, emphasizing the need for legislative action to regulate online platforms and protect users from harmful content.
Angie Sullivan (26:23): "They have to take that stuff down in 48 hours even when it's AI created over 20 suicides a year just from that revenge porn."
7. Republican Policies and Influence
The discussion shifts to Republican policies, particularly their support for tax breaks benefiting the wealthy and the ongoing national debt crisis exacerbated by Donald Trump's administration.
