All right, the CPAC convention was in Dallas and these guys are complete freaks. There's no other way to put it. It's not deep. These are cultists and this is the base of not only Trump's party, but the conservative movement, the Republican Party. This is what it is morphed into here is just a classic white woman Trump voter. Play the clip.
Trump Supporter
The president of peace. So this is to bring peace in the area. When this, when this gets taken care of, it's going to be peace. And it's, I believe I'm on true social. That's the only social media I do. And I believe that he's going to have, you know, bring peace and it's going to be very short and he's got a plan. He's a genius. And we trust President Trump, all of us trust President Trump.
Jennifer Welch
He's going to bring, bring peace and it's going to be very short is what she said. This is, it's stunning how many people have fallen prey to the lie that Donald Trump is smart or he's some sort of 40 chess foreign policymaker. And I guarantee you this woman about 90 days ago would say, you know, President Trump, what I like about my president is he says no more wars in the Middle East. Right now It's a complete 180.
Pumps
You know, I just find it so fascinating that she trusts President Trump when objectively he lies about everything. Every word out of his mouth since he came down the escalator and has been in public life is a lie. But that just tells me she's willfully denial and I bet she is a hand raising, tongue talking evangelical all day, every day.
Jennifer Welch
There's a lot of women just like that in Oklahoma.
Pumps
Yep, a lot.
Jennifer Welch
That is not unfamiliar to pumps or me in the least bit. Okay, moving along. Speaking of tongue talking hand raising evangelicals, let's listen to what super Christian Franklin Graham has to say at cpac.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
Secular socialists in our country were wanting to take Christ out of Christmas. We made a big deal and corporate America was on board with it. Taking Christ out of Christmas.
Pumps
This is funny.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
Happy holidays, Merry Xmas. Putting the X where Christ's name was. Trump comes to office and he starts saying Merry Christmas. And okay, you say, well Franklin, that's such a, that's a little thing. No, it's not a little thing. It was huge because it put the woke world on notice that we're not going to take it anymore. And you know what? Thank God for him.
Jennifer Welch
Okay? They're not going to take it anymore. This is One of the biggest, most stale, tired, boring lies that the Republican party slash MAGA party leans into the manufactured complete false story that there is a war on Christmas. I am an atheist. I put up two Christmas trees in my house when Pumps was a full blown hand waving evangelical Christian. I celebrated Christmas with more intensity than my most religious friend. If you walk out anywhere in the United States of America, a mall, fifth Avenue in New York, anywhere in any state, the Christmas decor and the vomiting of the celebration, corporate America gobbles up because they make more money and just the victimhood that we're not going to take it anymore. These people use their faith for two things, as a weapon and a shield. And they vacillate back and forth between the two, whether they're a victim or a perpetrator. And Franklin Graham, I, I cannot believe I was kind of surprised he was still alive. But that's neither here nor there that this is. These are their thought leaders right in the Republican Party. These are the thought leaders.
Pumps
You know, I, that's kind of what I thought. My, my thoughts were twofold. Number one, you have a situation where you're talking about the war on Christmas. You have a thousand real problems going on in his church and churches in the country. I mean, pick one, there's millions of to choose from. And then he's like, people say Happy Holidays like it's evil. And it just struck me the Christian narcissism that everybody has to say Christmas regardless of your faith. And it, to me it's just another example of these evangelical Christians wanting to impose what they think and what they say on everybody else with zero respect to anybody else's beliefs.
Jennifer Welch
And it's also the mountain out of the molehill stuff. These are not major issues. No. Somebody says Happy Holidays, whatever. If somebody says Mary Xmas, who gives a pick your battle. Franklin Graham is more upset about that than he is the United States of America giving blank checks to countries that kill children. He is more upset about that than the fact that there are children starving in the United States of America. The homeless problem, sick people not able to afford health care. This gu is a stage five hypocrite grifter. Let's see what else he has to say. Play the clip.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
I love Donald Trump. Is he perfect? No. But I love that guy. I love him. And we'll only have one chance at this. We'll never get another president like Donald Trump. Never. Thank you. And that's why it's important that we do everything we can to try to get him reelected.
Jennifer Welch
Okay, so they say the quiet part out loud. We're going to do everything we can do to get him reelected. They know they'll never get somebody as stupid as they are to govern the United States of America. This is such an indictment on the religious right, the whole CPAC movement. And it's. To me, in my political ethos, it has always been a cancer. Living in a Bible Belt state and seeing the moral duplicity. And there are some people that I kind of let off the hook a little bit more than others. The people who live in rural America and the only culture they have is a church, and the only identity they have is America, because there's just no, nothing else to do in large swaths of America. So this becomes major identifying forces for them and senses of community. My problem is with a lot of people that live in urban or suburban America, that know better, that enjoy the fruits of multiculturalism, that enjoy the fruits of having gay or queer friends, enjoy the fruits of black culture, of eating in Mexican restaurants. And when they're at certain parties say, oh, we're moderate politically, and then behind, they are intentionally lying because they know how uncool and depraved and cruel the Christianity, this form of Christianity is. Those are the most insidious, and that makes up millions upon millions of voters.
Pumps
I agree with that. But I look at that comment, and I'm like, number one, that is illegal. That is against the Constitution. I mean, that is a intellectual argument to that. But in reality, Donald Trump cannot stay awake during Cabinet meetings. He is 80 years old. He does not know the difference between an island and Ireland. Insane as this man will never make it another term. It's not possible. He is already cognitive, cognitively diminished to the point he makes no sense. It's not getting better. This is just stupid.
Jennifer Welch
All right? And then Mike Lindell is somebody. This is the MyPillow guy. And this was something that always fascinated me. At the end of Trump 1.0, he hung out every day with Mike Lindell. Mike Lindell would show up to the side door to the Oval, knock, and he would come in with all of these conspiracy theories about how the ballots were rigged and he had really won. And just like in a complete state of MAGA psychosis. And what is very important to understand about Trump is he doesn't surround himself with people that are tethered to reality. He surrounds himself with people that confirm what he wants to be true. And what he wants to be true are buffers to keep his narcissism intact. So he doesn't have to face his inner profound seeping insecurity. So Mike Lindell's at cpac. His career is still not over. He's a celebrity, a star in the maga. Right? Here he is getting served a lawsuit on a CPAC interview. Play the clip, Country.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
Most of them break a law within the first three months. Most of them. We're on TV here. Please. We're on tv. Please. We're on tv. Please. Okay. We're on tv. Please. We're on tv. Please. Okay. We're on tv. What are you. What are you serving him with? Tv. What are you. What are you serving him with? I'm not accepting.
Jennifer Welch
What are you trying to serve.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
We're on tv. Please. Okay.
Jennifer Welch
He addresses that with a striking familiarity, as though he's experienced being served lawsuit papers multiple times. But again, you guys, this is a major, serious political party in the United States. They are treated by the press, by a large portion of the American public as a serious force. And the left's error oftentimes is to say, oh, all of this stuff is fringe. Nobody will ever take them seriously. And it is time to start doing brand damage to the Republican brand. This. Their stats are unbelievably bad. What happens when they get power? What happens to the economy, public safety, well being, international affairs, national security, domestic stability? It all plummets. And yet they still are funded and funded enough to have these insane conventions, and they're still a major political party.
Pumps
When I saw this, I honestly was like, I can't believe they would let him even in the door. He's such a laughingstock. He's bankrupted his company. He's a net. And then I thought, that's who they are. That's who this group is. So I think your point that he's the star that tells you the story right there. Okay?
Jennifer Welch
And then here is Pastor Mike Burns. The fire and brimstone and the Christian cruelty is escalating. Like a lot of addicts, they get a tolerance level, and in order to maintain a high, they have to increase their dosage. I long have the premise that these people are religious addicts. And their religious addiction traffics and cruelty. And they have to keep raising the stakes to be meaner and meaner in order to get the hit that they want. Play the clip.
CPAC Attendee / Interviewee
I'm talking to you. You can't be quiet about it. The moment they try to put gay books inside your public school, you should open up your mouth and say, the devil is a liar. I won't let this pornographic show up in my school. Y' all not talking back to me,
Jennifer Welch
okay? So it's fucking crazy. I mean, it's crazy. I mean, he's putting gay porn in schools. What they're talking about is there. There's literature, coming of age literature for people who discover, are exploring their sexuality. And it's a very difficult thing to do. In Bible belt America, I had so many friends, had conservative families, conservative churches. And the most difficult thing these people do in their lives is go to the people with whom they should be safest, their family, the people who are supposed to love them unconditionally, their parents, and tell them that the child that they gave birth to, the child that they made, is in fact gay. And you can ask any gay person in anywhere. This is a mammoth event in their life. What's so sad about it is people like Pastor Mike Burns are feeding this cruelty narrative. That's when so many gay and queer people have this conversation with their parents, they get attacked and rejected. And that's a real mind because we're taught, you know, your parents and your family, that's unconditional love. In this world of maga Christianity, it is conditional love. It is conditional. They love you only if you are a certain way, per their script, per the Bible script of whom you are supposed to be. So this is so dangerous for so many marginalized groups. And speaking of gay, let's hear this clip from Benny Johnson.
Pumps
I'm going to state it clearly and profoundly at this moment that we must find the clarity of what and who we are actually fighting. The violent, radical, demonic left is our enemy.
Jennifer Welch
Okay, this is really pathetic and dangerous. Their whole ethos is attacking over half the country. That is who their enemy is. Because on the left, people critically think we're not in a cult. We can criticize our own politicians. Listen to this. Benny Johnson, Chuck Schumer is out of touch with the United States of America. I think he needs to step aside and let a true fighter be the Senate Minority leader. And the same goes with Hakeem Jeffries. I think a lot of the Democrats in the Democratic Party right now take too much money from corporations. And that taking has called a caused a breakage in their ability to oppose fascism to the fullest extent. And oftentimes it appears as though they are fascist collaborators. This neglects the suffering and the income inequality of the American public. I'm a Democrat, I always vote for Democrats, but I do not sit here and take a party line. But here's the fundamental difference between Benny Johnson, the raging Evangelical Christian and Jennifer Welch, the raging unapologetic atheist. I do not see MAGA individuals as my enemy. I see them as members of a cult that have been deeply, deeply brainwashed. Now, listen, I don't want to go to lunch. I don't want to go to brunch. I don't want to hang out with these people. I want them to have health care. I want to create a system that doesn't create a vacuum for these people to believe lying grifters. That's the fundamental difference between the left and the right.
Pumps
I think that's very well said. And I just. When Benny Johnson talks, it pops into my head. He's this big question talking about Democrats are demonic. And the picture that flashes in my head of Benny Johnson is him and his alligator Alcatraz merch and the smile he had on his face at the prospect of people being eaten by alligators in Florida. And I think you are the biggest hypocrite. He has no empathy. And unfortunately, there are people in my family that are the exact same way and they are super Christians. So here's what I think. If tell me you're an evangelical Christian, I immediately assume you have no empathy because that is what my experience has told me. So it's easy for them to dehumanize everybody that's not them. And it's disgusting.
Jennifer Welch
I think we have to leave it there. What? Very well said. Pumps. Please like and subscribe. And we really need to do brand damage to this diabolical anti life, pro death culture CPAC movement. All right, like and subscribe.
