The Supreme Court ended their final session for the summer and the Constitution of the United States has barely survived. In a 5, 4 decision, the justices have upheld birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship, striking down President's Trump executive order. In Trump vs Barbara, Chief Justice Roberts authored the opinion of the court, joined by Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, Barrett and Jackson. Justice Kavanaugh concurred in part and dissented in part, while Justices Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch filed dissent. And basically what these justices who dissented said it is okay for a president to come in and by executive order change the Constitution and the law. That's how close we are to, to losing this democracy in every way. And I for those of you who don't follow the Supreme Court because it's normally really boring, Alito and Thomas tell you nonstop, nauseatingly how they are strict constitutionalists, yet they are willing to take the Constitution, wad it up in a ball and throw it in the trash can. So let's hear what Trump's unhinged response to this ruling is. Trump says on Live Social the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship, which is too bad for our country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through legislation with the support of the President that has now been determining the process. No long and unwielding constitutional amendment is necessary. Congress should start today to work on ending expensive and unfair to our country birthright citizenship. They will have my complete and total support. And if it's one thing I don't have to worry about, is the Republican controlled House and Senate doing anything to govern. So I'm not worried about this necessarily because they're so ineffective, but just that Trump is so easily, he's so easy just to say if you're black and brown, fuck you, we don't, we don't give a shit about you. Yet we want to bring in Christian nationalists which are far more dangerous. And then of course, we have the little Nazi himself, Stephen Miller. What's his response? One of the most destructive and outrageous decisions in the long history of the Supreme Court. American citizenship is not the birthright of the world. It belongs only and solely to Americans. If you are born in America, you are an American. Stephen. No provision of the Constitution can be read to require our national self obliteration. What in the is he talking about? What? I mean, this is somebody who wants to tell us their love life is so full of love, joy and laughter. Like he just spews hate. He spews just cruelty. I what I'm Worried about is that we're one vote away from absolute free for all in terms of the Supreme Court now. I mean, we've seen them. They've undone 90 years of precedence. Now they're saying, okay, by one vote, the Constitution says what it says. This was way too close, in my opinion.

It absolutely should have been nine, zero decision, absolutely everything. Stephen Miller tweets. I mean, he could have tweeted just anything right there. It sounds like it's copied from a Nazi speech. Speech. And typically half the time it is.

Well, in. In response to Trump's post, it's genuinely concerning that the President of the United States just does not understand how the law works. That based on the Supreme Court ruling, you cannot pass a law. You would need to pass constitutional amendment, which would require two thirds of both chambers of Congress and 3/4 of of the states in the US to ratify it. That is never going to happen because it is explicitly clear in the 14th Amendment that birthright citizenship is a part of the Constitution. Yeah. Stephen Miller, the most unsurprising response of the day.

I'm interested to see how Republicans respond to this call for him to just pass legislation now that the Supreme Court has struck this ruling.

Megyn Kelly's actually tweeting about this right now because that's the, like, number one conversation of MAGA people on Twitter. It's like, okay, let's just do it ourselves. She said what you said. She goes, this isn't possible. We need the Supreme Court to grow some balls.

Here's the deal. The Supreme Court is a puppet of Donald Trump, right? But I think that what Ryan said, it struck me as funny because he said it's, it's when you realize Trump doesn't understand the law. Trump doesn't understand economics. He doesn't know that tariffs are attacks on the American people. He does not understand global, you know, issues, global economy. He doesn't understand that if you bomb Iran, they're going to close the strait of her moose.

He doesn't know what groceries are. He thinks housing, affordable housing, is boring. He doesn't understand anything. Yet he maintains the position of the President of the United States because the Republicans have no balls. And they are. So another a win for Trump. A very sad win for Trump is the Supreme Court has continued to allow a ban on transgender Sports. In a 63 decision, the US Supreme Court upheld state laws banning transgender girls and women from competing on female school Sports teams. The court ruled that Title 9 allows schools to maintain separate boys and girls teams based on biological sex. And this is disappointing. This is further marginalization of trans people. And here's the thing. You would think by all the litigation and all the political ads that are coming out of the right, you would think that there was an army, a parade of trans athletes. There are. There are more cases of measles in Texas than there are trans athletes trying to compete in sports in the entire United States. This allows further demonization, bigotry of trans athletes, both by their schools and by their government. We need to make sure that trans athletes know that they are supported and that we are allies. And it surprises me, zero, that in a movement that claims Maha is so great, that they do not understand the science behind transgender. I mean, on the White House social media, they're talking about transgender mice. Not understanding nobody is changing sex organs of mice.

It's a scientific study. They don't get it. But of course they don't. And, Ryan, you had. You said something really interesting about the number of trans athletes and where you found that information.

Yeah. So Charlie Baker, who is the president of the NCAA, he testified in December 2024 that he knew of fewer than 10 transgender college student athletes among all NCAA competitors. So to your point, Pumps, this is an incredibly small number of people. It's not about trans athletes. It's about a culture war on trans people. And one thing that I did just want to note that this is not an outright ruling across all states. This applies to states that have already made bans on trans athletes, which is, I believe, 27 states across the country. Just important for the listener to know well.

And it's no surprise, too, that to your point, on this culture war, there was groups of Christians outside of SCOTUS today in circles, holding hands, singing songs, and praising to end the woke mind virus. Riley Gaines is. This is probably the best day of her life. She's going nuts on Twitter about this.

How would the world be different if Riley Gaines would have just gotten fifth and not tied for fifth with a different athlete? The difference is a better place.

your point, Kylie, about all the people praying and they're so worried about this tiny, tiny number of trans athletes, but allowing girls to be victimized and raped and sex traffic, they're silent on that. They don't give a. The Pro Family party doesn't give a. They're worried about, you know, less than what you say. Less than 10 trans athletes versus the hundreds of thousands of little girls that have been sexually abused by their pastors at church camps, by their priest on Epstein island, by the elite. Nobody gives a about them. And of course Megyn Kelly. She's just the grossest. Please, Jesus. The court holds that schools can determine eligibility for women's and girls sports teams based on biological sex. I mean, I've just said all I can say about it. If you ignore science, then Megan Kelly and all the other people that support this, they can continue to marginalize a population that is already a so small and b so marginalized. And then in the final opinion that we're going to discuss in this episode, the court has given a green light to all corruption in politics. The Supreme Court ruled that Political parties can spend unlimited amounts of money in coordination with their candidates. Naturally, as a surprise to no one. The Republicans are just tickled pink about this because buying elections, that's their jam. That's what they're good at. They dig it. Because based on merit, I mean, everybody's talking about, you know, democratic socialism and da, da, da, da. You're pushing the population towards socialism when you allow the richest people that don't give a fuck about lower income people, poor people, sick people, to make all the rules for the entire population. Kylie, you had an interesting comment that I think is I wanted you to share with us.

Yeah. So something I read when I was trying to understand this ruling that stood out to me and is really scary is this allows like a billionaire like Elon Musk to, let's say he gives 300 million, he can give it to the Republican Party, and that allows the Republican Party to now spin that wherever they want, however they want. So they can give it all to Candidate X in this Senate race, or they can spread it across all of them. And it also makes them this really powerful piggy bank. Bank. So let's say they're like, hey, Candidate X, we'll give you this 300 million, but this is your platform, right? So they now hold. I mean, Republicans don't really have that many balls. You know, they don't really stand up to this. But it's just, It's Citizen United 2.0 and it's just going in the wrong direction.

Well, it's basically, it's saying any kind of corruption that you want in politics. Peter Thiel, if you don't believe in democracy and you want to throw your money at it because you don't think poor people or sick people should have, have any ability to have a voice or govern themselves. And only, you know, the financial disparity and the people with money make those rules, you're on. Good for you, buddy. And I appreciated Justice Kagan's dissent in this. I thought it was very well said, particularly in the time of Trump, Justice Kagan says, so the court ushers back in the same opportunities for quid pro quo corruption that the contribution limits were meant to check. And just when you see an administration like Trump's that selling pardons, that's selling access, that is selling, you know, Ukraine, that is selling every single member of the public, every single institution, every single monument, when they are defacing everything in the name of I want a ballroom, you want a merger, let's have a quid pro quote. The most transactional president in the incorrupt in the history of the United States. It just makes perfect sense to me. This ruling from his Supreme Court would come at this time. Any other final comments before we wrap?

He says the Supreme Court just took restrictions off political spending. A big win for Republicans and more importantly, the First Amendment. So, you know, billionaires buying elections is the First Amendment.

So, and that's what irritates me is this ruling based on the First Amendment. The First Amendment allows you to voice your opinion. And what this opinion does to me is it, it makes the people that have less money and less power voiceless. It takes away their First Amendment right in favor of rich people that are able to put money behind what they believe in. And it's, it's really, it's a sad day. It's a very sad day for trans athletes and for that community. And please know that we are supporting you. It is a sad day when one vote separates the Constitution from coming.
