All right, the weekend at Bernie's presidency continues. We have pudding boy whose brain is completely cooked, who's laser focused on his ballroom, laser focused on his arch, laser focused on his interior design projects, laser focused and talking about just how hot people are all the time, particularly men. And I'll leave that for everybody to deduce what they want to. But there appears to be a big cover up about all of this. The COVID up of Trump's mental and physical decline continues at the White House, you guys, after Trump made an unplanned medical visit this weekend. So basically Angie and listener, he's in Florida and then all of a sudden they're like, he needs to go to the local dentist. The president left Mar a Lago to go to the local dentist. I I've been alive for a long time, 51 years. I haven't ever heard of the president going to a local dentist, but whatevs. And also Trump still hasn't released a routine physical for the year, which I can tell you just and I'm not a medical doctor, but I can just tell you it's not good. He physically is not good. I would give it a double thumbs down on his physical and mental but here's the polling on this pop this up percentage of Americans who say Trump isn't in good enough physical health to serve effectively. In May of 2023, 28% of Americans said, this guy is not in good enough shape. Today, we're at 55%. So it's important, because I think this is what's so frustrating, Angie, is they do such a good job. MAGA with an assist from all of the tech oligarchs, Zuckerberg, Musk, now Ellison with Tick Tock controlling the algorithms, flooding all the MAGA stuff with bot farms. And it feels like, oh, my God, like how the polling does not ferret that out. He is wildly unpopular, wildly, unless unfit, both mental, mentally and physically.
Political Commentator Angie
You know what's interesting is I kind of went down a rabbit hole of appointments that a president has. Dennis, go to the White House, doctors go to the White House. You do not have a President of the United States going to a doctor's office. Even in Florida, the security measures that have to be taken, the Secret Service, the recon, all that. So this is absolute. I don't think it was a dental appointment. I think it was some typ of medical emergency. I don't know what it was, but I mean, you could convince me it was one of his infusions in his hands. But I think they bring all that stuff in. So I, I think this is really interesting because why would he have to go there?
Political Commentator Dennis
I'm thinking mini stroke. I think, you know, he, I think he had that stroke because when he was gone for five days and not in the. Then he comes back and we've got like, yeah, the stroke victim thing. And then I think strokes. I, again, I'm not a medical doctor, tend to come in like clusters and clusters of mini strokes. I think we have Weekend at Bernie mine cover up. All right. And so after all of this, Nancy Mace enters the chat and she posts this. Pray for President Trump. So here's the thing. You know, like these people, the dentist, these people know, like the one thing about MAGA people is it's particularly, particularly in politics. They may not be policy smart, they may not be like super moral, but they're like savvy with the news cycle, they're savvy with social media, they know how to game the masses. So for her to enter the chat and act like she knows that something happened with President Trump and God, I hate calling him that, that she knows something insider like, that I thought was pretty interesting. But even more concerning, our president, who has, who was dog walked into the war in Iran by Israel, is Forgetting his own public statements about this. Let's pop this up. A reporter reminded President Trump yesterday that he'd said the night prior that the U. S might be better off not making a deal with Iran. Trump said, I didn't say that. And he'd said it the night prior on camera. And he has spent the weekend overcompensating. Let's play the clip.
Trump Clip/Voice
Question is very easy. It's a lion, a giraffe, a bear and a shark. They say, which one is the bear? And Everybody says, oh, 30 questions. Everyone says, very standard. There's a very standard test. But very tough around those last 10 questions. Not too many people, even in this very room, unlike news and must say this room of geniuses.
Political Commentator Dennis
He said, yeah, because not very many people given the animal identification test of a shark, a bear, giraffe, could, could point out the be. I would say if this is your best foot forward maga like, this is so embarrassing. And you heard all of the people in the room laughing that go along with him, that enable this insane behavior, that openly and brazenly celebrates stupidity, that openly and brazenly celebrate the loss of your mental faculties. That's what's so stunning to me. This guy's a grandstander and he is going to grand stand with stage 20 dementia. He'll never stop. He will never be able to stop. But the people who cheerlead, oh, my God, the president could identify a bear. What a knee slapper and what a genius. My God, we are so lucky that he is our leader. That's what gets me the most.
Political Commentator Angie
Well, especially when all you hear on Fox News still to this day is about who was covering up Biden's mental decline. At least it could be covered up. This deal, he goes out there and tells us every day. And I'm just going to point this out. In my almost 60 years on Earth, I have never discussed a cognitive test just casually, socially. I've never been on an occasion where anybody's discussed that with me or brought it up. The first person in my life that started publicly talking about cognitive test is Trump. And that's because he failed it. I mean, there's no doubt, especially when now he's going, you know, dementia patients, short term memory bad, long term memory good. I mean, we just had 20 years of the Apprentice. He's posting about that like it's yesterday. I mean, he's nuts.
Political Commentator Dennis
He's. I mean, it's bad. I think he's compulsively taken cognitive tests. I think he cannot quit taking Them.
Political Commentator Angie
Yep.
Political Commentator Dennis
Because I think he failed one in Trump 1.0. That man, woman, camera, TV and that's been a flaw in him, you know, like because his whole life is self preservation and proving that he's truly not an idiot and he's a big boy who could have made it without all of his daddy's money and, and failing forward. And so I think he's failed these cognitive exams and he keeps just compulsively taking them and I think he just keeps compulsively face planning with them so he will not shut the up about it. He also continued to show how laser focused he is on his ballroom.
Trump Clip/Voice
Let's play the clip Saturday night. It was good. For one thing, people are loving my ballroom now. That's the only thing. They love my ballroom. They love my ballroom. That's it's going to be the best in the world. Although I like the one at Mar a Lago very much too. Mayor.
Political Commentator Dennis
So nobody likes your ballroom. Everybody thinks it's stupid. He speaks more about the ballroom than he does the needs of everyday Americans. His disdain for his supporters and the oligarchs surrounding him and their disdain for their customer base, for their workers is so egregious and so glaring right now. I can again only opine that perhaps if one good thing comes out of this, we return to an era where we do not falsely apply a lot of virtues and, or intelligence and or success to uber wealthy people that exploit their workers and celebrate it like Jeff Bezos firing 20,000 people. All of these layoffs, record profits, record zero taxes that they're paying and they're still firing people. The Republican party is built on lies and being parasitic to the working class of Americans.
Political Commentator Angie
Well, the statistic is that billionaires are that middle income Americans pay more taxes than billionaires, millionaires. It's a stunning number. But I'll just say this. I just, I cannot imagine that if you are even in rural Oklahoma and you are low income and you love Fox News. I can't imagine if you're watching him talk about his arch, his plane, his ballroom and the hundreds of millions of dollars that it is taking just to prop up his little awards he wants to make for himself that you're not think thinking I, I have to pay almost $5 a gallon for gas. I can't afford groceries. At some point, I can't, I mean, and maybe I'm just optimistic, but at some point, I can't imagine resentment doesn't brew with these people that are scraping by that aren't able to buy medicine and food and him talking about these billions of dollars to pay tribute to himself. It doesn't click.
Political Commentator Dennis
I think that's. You've just articulated the problem with a personality trait, a character defect of American culture is that despite all of the things, the pain at the pump, the lack of health care, that a lot of Americans, working class Americans have bought into this lie that wealthy Americans are the best Americans and the biggest helpers. And it's a propaganda message that has been, I mean, for as long as I can remember. Wealth trickles down and they're willing to allow these wealthy people to have the things that they have because then they say, oh, that's the American dream. They were able to fulfill this dream. And the Democrats have erred. And not fully messaging what the cost of the exploitation is and defining what the exploitation is. The Democratic Party has failed to, to properly take this egregious wealth inequality and exploitation of workers and immoral policies. They fail to take it head on. And the reason for that is because now a lot of people in the Democratic Party have the exact same donors that the Republican Party has. But even after Trump and the Republicans used the shooting incident, the White House correspondent Center to call for funding the ballroom, Americans still aren't buying it. Let's pop this up. Americans reject President Trump's planned White House ballroom by a 2 to 1 margin according to a Post ABC Ipsos poll. There is also notable enthusiasm gap. Nearly three times as many people strongly oppose the project as strongly support it. So I think pumps to our points here. What's so devastating is independents have shown like maybe they voted for Trump this last time, but in the face of all of this, they're able to use critical thinking and get off the Trump train. I still see polling that with Republicans he has a high 80 approval rating.
Political Commentator Angie
It's stunning, isn't it?
Political Commentator Dennis
Crazy.
Political Commentator Angie
It really is. Especially when you think that a large majority of those die hard Republicans are not wealthy. I mean they are paycheck to paycheck people listener.
Political Commentator Dennis
Life is like a big puzzle. You have to get everything in place. Your career, your relationships, your gym, etc. One big part of being an adult is having doctors. Reliable, trustworthy doctors. And how on earth do you find these people? I use an app called zocdoc. Zocdoc is a free app and website that helps you find and book high quality in network doctors so you can find someone you. So listeners stop putting off those doctor's appointments and go to Zocdoc.com ihip to find and instantly book a doctor you love today. That's Zocdoc.com ihip Zocdoc.com ihip thanks Zocdoc for sponsoring this message. The scam that the Republican Party has run to get working class voters is a real indictment on how poorly the Democrats message. I mean, because they have actively given voters to the Republican Party by taking corporate money and, and not really speaking to their needs. And the Republican Party is just shameless. They'll just walk in and lie. Wealth will trickle down. These rich people have to have all this stuff. We need to get rid of all these regulations. Well, what are regulations? They are consumer protections. They protect you from when you turn on your water that it doesn't have carcinogens in it. And the Democratic party, they are so beholden to corporate interests have allowed this mass exodus of workingclass people to go actively vote against the policies that will help them get ahead. And even as Americans reject Trump's vanity projects, Trump is posting this on Truth Social. Let's pop this up. All right, here's Trump in his reflecting pool. And it's just an image of Trump, Vance, Lil, Marco, and I don't know who the chick is. And that's that, what's that guy's name? Pump Bergen or something?
Political Commentator Angie
Yeah, yeah.
Political Commentator Dennis
So here they are in the reflecting pool. And here's what offends me about this. I'm past Trump, the shock and awe. But leave this up for a second, Kylie. I'm past all the, like, Trump's going to post he's Jesus or Trump's going to, you know, post images of himself on Americans. It's the, it's the lie. He doesn't look like that shirtless. That's what bothers me the most.
Political Commentator Angie
Yeah, I'm like, he no more near has that of abset than the man in the moon. He would be like a walrus in a bathing suit if he could. I just, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw it too, because I'm no longer shocked. But I did find it interesting that he puts himself up there. You know, he's so cool and his svelte body and that all of these people that support him, that were so mad about Jesus, him acting like Jesus aren't like Rubio, Berman, Vance. Like, we've diminished all of them. We've diminished every political leader that's in this administration. And I know they have by their actions, but that tells me Trump doesn't have any respect for them. I just. I found it to be so gross.
Political Commentator Dennis
Well, of course he doesn't have any respect for them. He doesn't respect himself. He doesn't respect America. He doesn't respect his voters. And I appreciate that you think, oh, my God, these voters can see that. How are they not offended by this? They're not. It's a cult. It is a cult. And it's like, I just love President Trump because he really loves the flag and Trump really loves Jesus and. And he didn't mean to post that thing. It's Jesus. He took it down. He learned his lesson. And I love President Trump and I want him to have a third term. I mean, that's what we're dealing with. We cannot have this notion where we take our. We project the way we would think of something, because these people have proven via their three Trump votes that they do not have the moral critical thinking to diminish in their brain. This person is a liar, a grifter, and a con artist. All right, that's all we have. Like, subscribe, comment, and also please pre order my book. It is called Not Today Fascist, and you can get it wherever you get your books. Pre ordering helps support our show a lot, and we will see you all later.

The episode is sharp, irreverent, and laced with biting humor. Jennifer and Angie—progressive voices well-versed in political snark—skewer both Trump and his enablers, reserve some blame for Democratic ineptitude, and keep things lively with pop-culture references (“Weekend at Bernie’s presidency”) and self-aware asides (“He would be like a walrus in a bathing suit if he could.”).
This episode of IHIP News dives deep into the swirling rumors around Trump’s secret medical incident, using it as a lens to highlight broader themes of transparency, cult politics, and the billionaire disconnect in America. With both outrage and humor, Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan call out political manipulation, critique the ongoing spectacle of Trump’s leadership, and express hope that working Americans will see through the pageantry—even as they acknowledge the power of entrenched media and propaganda.
