Corruption in the Donald Trump administration go hand in hand because he is the most corrupt president in the history of the United States. But before we talk about just the behavior that he has done in these 80 days since he has been president, let's listen to what Republicans were saying about Obama and weaponizing the irs.
Advertiser
Press under fire this morning for targeting the political enemies of President Obama. If the IRS can go after you because of what you think or what you believe or what you do, we'd no longer live in a free country. That's what this is all about. And if you think they're not going to eventually use it against your politics, whatever they might be, it's ridiculous. They certainly will. This is fireworks worse than Watergate. This isn't an enemies list.

These are direct actions that were taken against Americans who sought to exercise their free speech rights under the First Amendment.

If this were a Republican president targeting the ACLU or some of those groups and administration, I think the mainstream media would be apoplectic. So I think it's a definite double standard. It's created this culture of intimidation that's pervasive throughout the White House and the federal government. It's embarrassing for the country. These are things you typically see in the third world. I can also assure you that were this a Republican president, a Republican Attorney general and a Republican irs, that we're targeting Democrats, I at least would speak out just as vigorously against it. How scary is this to you?
Political Commentator
It's just not supposed to happen.
Advertiser
They have laws against it. If this were somebody else, this would be the bigger story and maybe it will in fact be the bigger story.
Political Commentator
Okay, number one, Donald Trump does not care about the law. He's made that extremely clear. I mean, an appellate public court has held him out, read him for filth because he refuses to follow the law. There's a probable cause that the Trump administration is contempt of court. So for him to talk about what's against the law is ridiculous. And Ted Cruz, where are you? Where are you when Donald Trump goes after Harvard and different institutions? Where are you when you're talking about taking tax exempt status from universities because there aren't enough MAGA enrollees? You're quiet because you are, are a pussy. And J.D. vance, you once had clarity. Now you do not. So let's listen to their dear leader regarding tax exempt status. On the heels of all of these Republicans saying how dangerous it is, where are they to respond to Donald Trump?
Advertiser
Now it's on the tax exempt status subject. What are the other groups you'd like to see that status removed from? Could we expect?
Political Analyst
Well, we'll be, we'll be making some statements, but it's a big deal. And they're so rich and so strong. And then they go so bad. They've earned so much by being a member of this country, you know, a member of this group, this beautiful group of people in this country, and then they go and they abuse their power like that. I think it's, you know, I think it's very sad. Are we talking about immigrant rights groups, environmental rights groups? Could be. I mean, look, environmental. I have a group named crew. Crew. You ever hear of it? I think it's C R E W. And they have a guy that heads crew, supposed to be a charitable organization. The only charity they had is going after Donald Trump. So we're looking at that. We're looking at a lot of things. But if you take a look at crew, what they've done, and I think it was a very big abuse, but we're going to be finding out pretty soon.
Political Commentator
Okay, first of all, I get so tired of a man that inherited half a billion dollars, who has gone bankrupt six times, who has holds the most powerful office in the world, crying about people that want to get him. He's such a victim. You're the President of the United States and you cannot take criticism. What a whiny titty baby beta male and all these alpha men that bend the knee to him and twist themselves into ethical and moral bankruptcy for this man. It is disgusting. And here he is talking about environmental groups and immigration groups, nonprofits. He wants to take away their tax exempt status. He is gross. Not one Republican. Haven't heard a word from Ted Cruz or Marco Rebuke or JD Vance. Nobody is defending anyone against this tyrant. And just, of course, Donald Trump loyalist who testified in court. He has no money. Mike Lindell. Now we're seeing that Trump has directed the IRS to review his case. Here we go. While undermining independent institutions and weaponizing the IRS against a leading university for exercising its independence, the Trump administration is rewarding loyalty to the president by protecting his billionaire allies from accountability. And Trump asked a Treasury, an IRS treasury official to review the decision to audit my pillow guy, Mike Lindell, a high profile friend of the President. This is gross. It is illegal. It is exactly the hypocrisy that this administration stands for. Just when you think their corruption in the buddy system and my I'll pat your back, you pat my back, transactional nature. I mean, we're not even 100 days into this presidency and look at what he's doing. He's tearing down institutions that don't agree with him. He's going after free speech. And now he's helping his buddy, Mike Lindell, who's lost his fortune because he's a nut and he believed Donald Trump's lies. Okay, one other thing. Donald Trump appointed a new person to head the irs. And as a shock to absolutely no one, Donald Trump's nominee to run the irs, Representative Billy Long, just had a six figure debt paid off by campaign donors, all of whom happen to have tax issues with the irs. Surprises me. Zero. This is the corruption capital of the world. Donald Trump's administration. It is no wonder that the Clarence Thomases, who is completely owned by the Koch brothers, it is absolutely no wonder that he is a Trump supporter because the more more you can do for me, I'll do for you. It is absolutely gross. And then we have TurboTax. Now you might ask, why would anyone care if American citizens can file taxes for free online? Wouldn't that be a good thing? Not in Donald Trump's administration. And now we know Trump will reportedly end the IRS direct file program that allowed taxpayers to file taxes for free. This comes after Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the government for years to block IRS free file. Intuit donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration. That is so transactional, it is so corrupt, it is so unethical. But that's the stamp. You know, if Donald Trump is abdicating for something, he is absolutely getting paid because he doesn't do anything for free. He does the Tesla car commercial because he got a hundred million dollars. It is absolutely gross. This administration is nothing but corruption capital of the world. Go for the oligarchs. What can you do for me? Or what have you done for me lately? And the IRS is just one more weapon in his toolbox. We've got Pam Bondi out there calling people who do property crimes against Tesla domestic terrorists. She wants 20 years in jail for damaging a Tesla Tesla, but yet I haven't heard a word about what she's going to do about gun violence. I haven't heard a word about her intervening on behalf of American citizens that are being ripped off the street and taken into ICE custody because they're not real Americans. She is certainly not trying to get back a Maryland man who was sent to El Salvador. In fact, she thinks his family's better off without him. So these people are completely absent of any empathy or morals. But one thing we have been sitting here on this channel saying we've got to fight back. We've got to stand up for democracy. And history will look at us all and say, what did you do in the fight for democracy? And in the first 100, less than 100 days, we've seen people just appease, appease, appease. Harvard finally stood up this week. Trump's wanting to revoke their tax exempt status because they won't give him access about their international students, that he doesn't think they have enough MAGA people. And so as Harvard stands up, money from Harvard donors is pouring in. And do you know why that is? Is because real Americans, not ones that hunt the American flag, but real Americans that believe in the rule of law and the Constitution and democracy. They want their politicians and their institutions to fight for democracy. And we see that people will put their money where their mouth is when it comes to fighting for democracy and not succumbing to the oligarchy of this corrupt, evil, gross administration. Stick with us for more takes.

Title: WTF? Trump Weaponizing the IRS to Destroy Anyone Who Opposes Him!!
Hosts: Jennifer Welch & Angie “Pumps” Sullivan

With their signature blend of humor and incisive political analysis, Welch and Sullivan unpack the multifaceted strategies that threaten the very foundations of American democracy.
The episode opens with a scathing critique of President Donald Trump’s recent actions aimed at using the IRS to target individuals and organizations that oppose him politically. The hosts argue that such measures are unprecedented and a blatant abuse of power within the federal government.
Notable Quote:
"Donald Trump does not care about the law. He's made that extremely clear...He's tearing down institutions that don't agree with him."
— Political Commentator [01:52]
A significant portion of the discussion centers on the troubling silence from prominent Republican figures like Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and J.D. Vance. The hosts express frustration over the absence of any substantial defense or condemnation from these leaders regarding Trump’s misuse of the IRS.
Notable Quote:
"Not one Republican. Haven't heard a word from Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or JD Vance. Nobody is defending anyone against this tyrant."
— Political Commentator [02:46]
Welch and Sullivan highlight specific instances where the Trump administration has targeted organizations and individuals through IRS actions. They underscore threats to revoke tax-exempt statuses of various groups, including environmental and immigrant rights organizations, as a means to silence dissent.
Notable Quote:
"Donald Trump is going after free speech... He's helping his buddy, Mike Lindell, who's lost his fortune because he's a nut and he believed Donald Trump's lies."

Additionally, the discussion touches upon Harvard University's fight against Trump's attempts to revoke its tax-exempt status, emphasizing the broader implications for academic freedom and institutional independence.

They reveal that Long had significant debts paid off by campaign donors with their own IRS issues, suggesting a troubling nexus between campaign contributions and regulatory favoritism.

The hosts argue that actions to end the IRS direct file program, which allows free tax filing, benefit these companies at the expense of ordinary taxpayers, highlighting a stark example of regulatory capture.

"Intuit donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration. That is so transactional, it is so corrupt, it is so unethical."
— Political Commentator [03:38]
Welch and Sullivan passionately discuss the broader implications of Trump’s strategies on American democracy. They assert that the weaponization of the IRS undermines free speech, erodes trust in governmental institutions, and fosters a culture of intimidation reminiscent of authoritarian regimes.

— Political Commentator [03:38]
