You know, we had to take the December, February drama and excitement and move it to summer because, well, the recruiting calendars change and recruits are just coming off the board way earlier than they used to. So summer is now when all the action happens and this time of year is deserving of its own day. So on July 1, we hosted nine commitments in one day right here on this channel. Brandon Sherrard, he got everything started. Top 150 recruit committed to Texas. And then at 6pm Eastern, Joshua Dobson rivals number six recruit in the entire com in the entire country. He committed to South Carolina. At the end of the day, a absolute shocker. But it capped off what was a historic day. And the really, the off season in general has been really busy on this channel. You guys have witnessed 70 live commitments so far. Last year in the entire cycle we did 40. The year before that we only did 20. So what we did on July 1st here will very likely become the industry norm. I know we're going to do it again next year. I'm willing to bet others will be doing the same. But with that being said, here are the commitments from the July 1st Summer Signing Day Show.

We gotta talk some Miami recruiting. The Canes are one of the big winners of the summer and Miami's got the number four class in the country as we hit July and it's almost over. But flip season is still to come, so we're bringing in EJ Holland. So, ej, what recruitment would you consider the biggest win for Miami this off season?

Dante Wright. I mean, he's five star number 10 overall recruit in the country and one that I don't think anybody really saw coming, at least not at that time. When Dante committed, I mean, that was social media ablaze. Everybody was talking about it the entire day in the days after. I mean, that was such a huge recruiting win to steal him away from basically Oregon. I know he was committed to Georgia, but he was wavering quite a bit. And it seemed like all signs were pointing to him flipping. But to Oregon, not necessarily to Miami. But I think Mario Cristobal and Dennis Smith, Miami's gm, did a fantastic job in this recruitment as well as new cornerbacks coach Terry Jefferson. I thought he played a huge role. Safeties coach Will Harris is originally from California and really got that recruitment started as well. And Miami just worked so hard behind the scenes in that recruitment. They did get him on campus for one of their big spring weekends, but again, I think everybody kind of expected him to stay out west, eventually land at Oregon, and instead of Miami pulled off a shocker. And in Dante Wright, they're getting a guy who can shut down an entire side of the field. But I what I really like about Dante Wright is his experience playing multiple positions on the back end. I saw him a lot in 7 on 7 this offseason and he's a guy who played a lot of safety, played a lot of nickel. So he brings that versatility. He has great knowledge, high football iq, really studies film, really understands the what it takes to play on the back end right away at a place like Miami. And so yeah, I think he can eventually grow into your shutdown corner. But that experience of playing safety in nickel as well, I think he's a guy who can come in, make an immediate impact. And such a fantastic job by Miami just coming in like a thief in the night, sealing Dante right away. So I think that was definitely the, the biggest recruiting win of the cycle for Miami.

Yeah, you're right. I mean, Dante Wright obviously the highest rated current commitment in the class, so of course that' the biggest flip. But Jaden Bryant, 18 hall, also monster flips. And Dante Wright was being penciled into Oregon's class. I mean, experts even on our network on the west coast were putting in predictions for the duck. So that being said, do you expect Dante Wright in Oregon to be a thing moving forward or is he completely locked in until signing day? I mean, how do you even say that in these days? But what do you think Dante Wright, do they need to keep on him?

Well, I think Dante's extremely happy with his commitment. I think every commit in his classes, if you've noticed on social media, Miami got every single commit to put down a graph, put out a graphic that says recruitment shut down. Which I think Miami is always doing kind of unique things. They're always at the forefront of things. Even, you know, when the NIL era started, I mean, Miami was right there being innovative with the way they handle things. And even now, you know, this process ends earlier and earlier. That's why Rivals had the summer special there on July 1st. So, I mean, this recruiting process is so accelerated, but you still have the December. It's still a long way to December. You know, we, we are recording here July 6, notary public loan signing day, you know, still several months away. So I think it was great that Miami got everybody to go on social media and say their recruitment has been shut down. And I, I really do believe all these guys are locked in. You know, the commits in this class have a really strong bond. They've been to Miami several times. I think Dante was on campus himself three times. Like, he went for his official visit. He came back, he came back and camped like he didn't necessarily. He's the number one guy in the class as far as rankings go. He didn't have to compete, but he was out there competing in the camp, getting coached up by his future coaches. So all of these guys, I, I, I mean, if you ask me, hey, is there a guy that's wavering or a guy you're going to keep an eye on this fall? I, my concern level for all of the guys in this class is extremely low. Just, I think Miami's done a fantastic job of getting these guys committed, but also getting these guys locked in and completely solid to where Miami can just focus on the football season. The staff can just focus on making another deep playoff run and potentially winning it all this year.

Yeah, Miami fans love to hear that. You know, it's been an exciting summer. Miami definitely one of the big winners. But the Canes didn't land every recruit that they chased after. Guys like D.J. jacobs, K.J. henderson, Mark Matthews, Mice and Johnson Cook. Some of them did get away. So do you, do any of these names. Do you think Miami fans need to stay on? Because the Canes could double back, make a, make a late push at a flip before signing day.

Yeah, look, Miami's class is going to be smaller right now. Miami has the pound for pound number one class. You look at average recruit rating, Miami is at the very top. But they're number four overall in the team rankings just because they only have 20 commits. And it's not going to get that much bigger. You know, this will be around a 22 man class, 23 green levy, so you'll probably have a late riser or two. But the big flip target, you know that they're still going to make a huge push for all the way until signing day is going to be DJ Jacobs, the five star edge committed to Ohio State, the number one edge in the country. Look, Miami has a lot to sell there. Obviously, edge production. You look at the draft with Ruben Bane and Akeem Macedor, two first rounders, you have a Hall of Famer coaching up the position in Jason Taylor. I mean, when you think about Miami, you think about the trenches, you think about pass rushers like Macedor and Bane. And I think that's an easy selling point to Jacobs. He was on campus this spring for an unofficial visit during the spring ball splash event, which was one of the bigger recruiting events of the spring. And you know, in a recent interview with our national analyst Chad Simmons, D.J. said, I'm going to go on some visits with my younger brother, Dawson Jacobs, who is a Miami target who did make his way to Miami that same weekend, obviously. And I think that gives Miami another chance, assuming Dawson visits Miami, because Miami is a big contender for Dawson as well, that gives Miami another chance to get in front of DJ to really pitch him on coming to Miami. And then I think, you know, proof of concept as well. Obviously, Miami already has a five star edge committed in Jaden Bryant. And you know, you can easily point to, hey, we had two first rounders at the edge position. You and Jaden complement each other so well and they really do. You know, Jaden being a more compact, powerful bull rushing edge where DJs a taller, longer, really athletic guy. And so they can say, hey, we actually do. We don't have to sell you on, hey, you guys could be first round draft picks together and be two of the most dominant edge guys in college football. We already have done that. We've already developed two first rounders, you know, that have gone in the same draft class. You guys can be next. So I think that's a great selling point. And Jayden Bryant himself told me this summer, hey, I'm going to recruit DJ Jacobs. I want him to join that class and be that dynamic duo with me. So it's not like, you know, Jaden doesn't really want that. Like, he really wants to team up with DJ Jacobs as well. And I know several members of the class are going to work really hard on him throughout the fall. So hey, you get him on campus for a game day visit. You know, even though, you know it would technically be Dawson's visit. I think anything can happen over the next several months. There's so much, like I said, to sell and there's also so much familiarity with the staff. I mean, Miami almost won him over the first time. And I think these relationships, it was

a bit of a shocker that he committed to Ohio State not over Georgia, but over Miami.

Right. And, and I think that those relationships are real. They're long standing. They've been recruiting D.J. for a long time. So Miami's not going to let up until DJ puts pen to paper. And I don't want to make it seem like DJ is trying to deceive anyone. I think he's happy with his commitment to Ohio State. I think he really likes what Ohio State has to offer. But at the same time, I think

Yeah, and every recruitment's different, but Miami tends to fare pretty well late in the cycle against Ohio State. So we'll just have to wait and see. Now let's turn the page to 2028 because we're about to start talking a lot on this channel about 2028 names. They are emerging three five stars in the state of Florida right now. At the top of Miami's board, wide receiver Bryson Wright, cornerback Amir Sears and edge Asher Giotto. I know you guys are talking about them a lot on your site. So right now, all these five stars, who do you think Miami has the best shot at in state to keep home?

Yeah. So could Miami. They're not just five stars. Josh, you're talking about Bryson Wright. He's the number one overall recruit in the country. Amir Sears is the number two overall recruit in the country. So could Miami land the number one and number two overall recruit in the country? They're both, you know, in state guys, one being right in their backyard and Amir Sears. So yeah, I think it's a possibility, you know, starting off with Bryson Wright. Look, he keeps his recruitment really quiet. He's not a guy who, you know, he is a such a big name. He's all over social media from the big plays he makes on the seven on seven circuit and things of that nature. Just what, what comes nature of the beast with what comes with being the number one recruit in America. But at the same time, Bryson is very low key, doesn't make a whole lot of visits, doesn't love the process, doesn't love doing interviews. But you from what he has said and talking to him here recently in the last couple of weeks, you know, I think Miami is right up there. And who's really the big out of state threat right now? He's talked about Ohio State. Well, they just went out and landed Jed Harrison, who's another five star wide receiver. So I think, you know, that that puts, you know, a little water on the flame there for Ohio State. So who is it? Is it Texas? Will Texas A and M emerge? Is there a big out of state team? You know, Florida is the other school that's heavy in contention there, but I, I think Miami's done a really great job. Look, Bryson popped up for a surprise visit on, on the last weekend before the dead period while Miami held its elite camp. And so he had time around the staff. It wasn't, you know, it was one where he was trying to keep it low key, but obviously everybody saw him there. But I think it gave him a chance to get around the staff, get around some of the players on the team. It was the, like I said, the elite camp weekend, which featured several of Miami's 2027 commits, including quarterback Israel Abrams. So he had a chance to see, you know, what Miami is going to have at the quarterback position in Abrams and even, you know, looking ahead, C.J. cypher, who's the 2029 quarterback commit, there's some reclass buzz there. You know, he saw him several times on the 7 on 7 circuit. They played against each other at OT 7. And then his actual high school quarterback, Knox Annis, is committed to Miami right now in the 2028 class. So I think that connection helps a little bit as well. But yeah, Miami's done a fantastic job recruiting Bryson Wright. They were the first school to offer him. I mean, he visited as a really, really young kid. Getting him back to campus is huge. I expect him to get back for a game day visit as well. And you know, he told me, I was really impressed with what I saw from Malachi Toney as a freshman. I feel like Miami, you know, plays the best players regardless of class. You know, they're not afraid to let freshmen be dynamic playmakers. And so that really moved the needle for Bryson Wright. I know he's a lot different of a wide receiver than Malachi. Tony is skill set wise. But the opportunity to come in play as a freshman and see what Miami has coming in to that quarterback room. And just the talent that Miami is stockpiling Overall in the 2027 recruiting class, I think that really moves the needle for him. And so I think that visit went really well. And look, Miami is the RPM leader for Amir Sears as well. You know, you're talking about a guy who goes to Miami, Columbus, same high school that produced Mario Cristobal. Mario Cristobal has a son on the team, so he has a chance to spend time around that program. And Amir Sears is close to crystal ball personally. You know, he's been on campus several times. I think Miami is definitely the team to be for Amir Sears early on. And you know, if you can close with Amir Sears, I think that would actually really help with Bryson Wright. And then you have Asher Giotto, who I believe is a number seven overall recruiting the country, number two, edge nationally. I think Miami is off to a hot start there. I would say Miami is probably the team to beat coming out of his offseason visits. He was just on campus in June for the big Legends camp. And like I said earlier with DJ Jacobs, Miami has a lot to sell at the edge position. And that's something that's really moving the needle for Gyota. He even had an opportunity to talk to Reuben Bane after Bane was drafted. The fact that Bane's taking time out of his day to help Miami with a 2028 recruit speaks volumes of, you know, what Miami thinks of Asher Giotta and what Gyoda thinks of Miami. So I think that Miami's doing a fantastic job. Like I said, with all of these guys, these high profile in state guys, those, those are the guys you have to land. You know, I would say you have to land two of those guys. Two of those three guys. Could you land all three? Certainly, if you can land two of them, man, that's, that's absolutely huge.

Yeah. And those could be some of the big wins that we talk about next summer. But Canes fans, talk to me now about this offseason. Who do you feel was the biggest win in Miami recruiting? Talk to us. And we got the author right here with us, Shay Dixon, LSU insider. Shay, LSU already has four wide receivers committed. They're still chasing some five stars. But of the four already committed, who do you think is going to have the most impactful career at lsu?

Of the four guys committed, and it's interesting because they took an early commitment out of Florida from Armani Watkins, excuse me, Amari Stevens, and then followed that up with Braylon Kale here in Sicilia in South Louisiana. He's super versatile. I mean, he could play a number of positions on offense. It could be a really good safety. Like he does it all there. And a lot of SEC coaches feel that way. He got offered kind of on both sides of the ball by a number of teams. They got another Louisiana receiver in Gary Bernie Jr. Up at Parkway, where a number of former LSU players have come from, in Bossier City, right outside of Shreveport. He was committed to Houston, but got the offer from lsu, made the visit, and as most Louisiana kids do, ends up committing to the Tigers. And the different kind of approach here Josh, that lane Kevin said is we're going to go all over the country to find the best guys and we'll talk about that more in a minute with these five stars. But they went to Pennsylvania for a receiver and that doesn't happen a ton. Right. Like you could just pick four or five receivers in Louisiana and you're gonna have a nice NFL hit rate and a pretty good starting lineup. But Kate Cooper out of, like I said, Pennsylvania on rivals, top 150 prospect, top 25 receiver and a guy they feel like who can stretch the field vertically. He's got good hands and I think each one of these guys sort of complement the other. Well, if you're gonna have me pick Josh, give me, give me Kate Cooper. That might be cheating. He's the highest ranked of the bunch. Maybe he and Braylon Collier in the same boat. If he ends up sticking, this is someone that Kiffin and them really turn the heat up on. So perhaps we see a, a kid from up in the northeast playing receiver at lsu. It's not something we're used to where it's more of a East Texas, Louisiana thing down here.

Yeah, absolutely. So let's get to chasing some of these five stars. Not all these five stars are uncommitted. Well, only one of them is because Xavier Saab committed right here on this channel on Friday night to Oregon. Then you got Manchun Sales and of course Easton Royal committed to Texas out. I mean Easton Royal is the one that all the fans are, are kind of circling is hey, that's the five star. If we're gonna flip one, that's it. But I mean they got some traction here with SOB and Sales as well.

Yeah, they had in June. Mind you remember Jaden Bryant, the top 10 edge rusher decommitted from LSU. They dropped a 4, 4 commitments at the start of June in the span of about 20 days. Maybe they added double digit commits. I mean every official visitor weekend ended up yielding some commitments and three guys, all five stars as receivers. The aforementioned Saab and obviously Easton Royal and then Sales all made official visits to lsu. So in that month of June. So you've got obviously the Lane Kiffin offense, the LSU brand, their recruiting efforts, it attracts these big names. Can you stack up on guys? We've talked about that so often and yes, some classes do. But I think right now Josh, with where they're at, golly, they took double digit receivers from the portal they've got. Remember they flipped Corey Barber, he was a five star finish up as a five Star unrivals, right when Lane got hired from Ole Miss to lsu, they've got some young Destrehan kids, which is where Justin Jefferson went to school. Their pipeline to LSU that are really talented at receivers. So with four commits, you obviously. Look, I watched the show, Josh. Whenever Saab committed, he talked about being close to dan laning since 8th grade. Like Lane Kiffin doesn't have that working for him at lsu. But look, they've taken a swing at sales. Who wouldn't? Six four, six five and has all those offers. But as Greg Smith rose week, Indiana is still kind of the leader. Ohio State and Texas are making noise, And LSU and Bam are more on the back burner. And I think LSU's on the back burner because of what you led this conversation off with. Easton Roll is the number one receiver in the country. He committed to Texas two days before Lane Kiffin was hired. He's from Louisiana. He plays at Brother Martin in New Orleans. LSU assigned a ton of Brother Martin kids over the years, and he was on campus with his mom a ton this spring. Then he makes his official visit. And for a kid who is committed, he also made an official visit to Florida. Ended up canceling Ole Miss and some others. But Sam Spiegelman wrote, you can go on Rivals right now. It's on the Bengal Tiger. It's on the main page, but a breakdown of some top guys. And he went in on LSU and said that he felt that from what he's hearing, Eastern Royal will make a decision or is in quote, unquote decision mode, I believe is his exact quote I'm looking at. Meaning really the month of July. Right. And we know that's the trend. Kids, right, want to be able to commit before their senior season. So when we talk about the waiting game here, is he going to stick with Texas? Is he going to flip to lsu? I would with Florida kind of third in that race, but I don't have a pick, Josh. I'm not that bold. But my prediction remains that at least by signing day, could be this month, could be later on, that Eastern Royal winds up in LSU's class.

All right, LSU fans loving to hear that. Speaking of commitments coming soon, tomorrow, four star safety Jaden Anding is planning on making his commitment right here on this channel. He was going to do it on July 1st, but the morning of there were some phone calls I had with his mom with this coach. And long story short, we didn't want to force him into anything. Told him, take your time. You'll always have A spot here on the Rivals YouTube channel. Whenever you're ready. Well, whenever that me. Whenever he is ready means tomorrow. So it sounds like Jaden Anding coming off the board. Was the delay, was that concerning for LSU or do you feel things still are trending in the Tigers direction here?

I. I'm. Is this. We're pre recording. Is this breaking news? Because I have not seen that yet that he was going to announce tomorrow here. So congrats. Josh. You got it. You got it locked in. He was, he was set to announce at 12:30 on the summer signing day show. You did an excellent job. So what nine or ten kids ended up committing that day, but LSU didn't have a commit that day and you felt like they were going to. With Anding, the short and sweet of this is it's just LSU and Ole Miss top two teams. He's visited Ole Miss one time. Yes, some former LSU staffers, Frank Wilson, Austin Thomas's gm, others are on that Ole Miss staff now. But even feeling around Sam Spiegelman and I did, it didn't even sense that Ole Miss was pressuring that much or turning up the heat that much. I think it was more. Hey, let me make sure sure I've got things figured out here. Look, his brother's on the team right now as one of Corey Raymond's cornerbacks. His high school teammate is Ahmad Hudson, the number one tight end in America. He's committed to LSU for basketball and football and they've already offered like seven other Rustin kids. I mean they're one of the best teams in the state. So my rivals. RPM has been on 95% for LSU. Josh, last week I wasn't scared. I stayed 10 toes down and here we go. So yes, I would, I'm sticking at least right now, unless I hear differently that LSU would be the pick.

It's been a fun one to track Here so far, Josh, I think that I would probably go with two guys. It's hard to pick just one. I'll start off with one that was a little bit more recent here and was on this channel. And Tay Walden Jr. Out of Collierville, Tennessee, the Memphis area. That was a recruitment that Oregon was a little bit later, if you want to call that to enter in January. But Chris Hampton with the offer in his native area, his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. And this is a guy who has legitimate two way ability. No for sure answer which side of the ball he's going to line up on just yet once he gets to Oregon, could he be a corner? Could he be a wide receiver? I saw him at the Nike opening finals and you can tell that he's a guy that just moves a little bit differently and it's easy for him. So I'm going to go with Tay Walden for my first one. And the other one that I'll mention is Toa Satellite out of the state of Hawaii, the top prospect from the state this cycle. Oregon has, I don't want to say underdelivered, but I think they've been really looking for that top 100 linebacker in the Dan Landing era. He's actually the first, I think he's the first top 100 linebacker or the highest rated linebacker to commit to Oregon in the Dan Lanning era. So you got to give a tip of your cap to Brian Michaelowski and the rest of that defensive staff. So those are kind of my two splashes for the biggest recruitments and biggest commitments for Oregon this summer.

Yeah, and really this whole off season they've done a great job of filling some major needs. But to me it feels like maybe defensive line recruiting might not be completely finished. So who would Oregon like to land, slash flip on that defensive line before it's all over?

Yeah, that conversation right now starts with really one of their only two uncommitted targets. That's Braden Parks out of Chicago. He's down to Oregon and Notre Dame. And that's been a recruitment that we've been following for quite a long time. Took his last official visit out to Oregon and that was one that we were kind of hearing behind the scenes that, you know, Notre Dame didn't really want to have happen because it's not easy to, you know, Oregon does a good job with official visits, but for, for how long he's been recruited, I really thought he would have been committed to Notre Dame by now if that was truly where he wanted to go. And maybe he ends up there. But you never, you never know these days sometimes. And so I think that Parks is definitely the one that I would have circled right now because he hasn't set a firm commitment date. But there's a couple other flips that we could definitely mention. I think you look at guys like Dylan Brewster, who's committed to Texas Tech. I don't think Oregon is viewed as a favorite, but maybe down, down the line he gets out to a game in the fall or something. DJ Jacobs has been one that Oregon's been linked to before, but he's more of an edge than an anterior guy. A couple good names I'll throw out there. Some more recent offers for Oregon kind of in the spring. You have Penn State defensive lineman Anita Paiva. You also have UCLA commit George Toya, who Oregon commit, who Oregon recruited pretty heavily before he transferred out to Texas for his junior season, and then as well as BYU commit Moa Haveli. Those are some of the more recent offers that the Ducks had here in the 2027 recruiting class. And usually when you're going for a flip closer to home out west is a good starting point. So I think that those are some of the ones that I would keep an eye on for Oregon here and maybe they end up coming out for a visit in the fall and we see where things stand then.

All right. Well, with all this success at the 2027 level, we got to start talking 2028. I mean, it's not just Oregon, of course. Across the board, 2028 recruiting is coming into focus. So you got you had a great article right now up on Scoop Duck. I encourage all Oregon fans to go check that out. But who would you point to right now for Oregon fans to start paying attention to who's who? Are the Ducks making a priority?

Absolutely. I think you also have to start out west for that. For top priority guys. I think Jordan Hicks out of Mission Viejo would be one really touted defensive back that told me Oregon is actually setting the pace. Maybe not leading, but he said setting the pace. Do with it what you will in his recruitment right now. So he's a huge priority. Also at us there in California, you have 2028 DB Jalen Flowers, and then the last SoCal guy I'll mention is quarterback Josiah Boyd from Southern California. That's a touted arm that Koa Kai is in on here in 2028. And then you have more national guys like Jermaine Cobbins from Springfield, Tennessee. He's a top 25, I believe, cornerback that I also saw at the opening finals and he's definitely got Oregon in the mix there. And then also a guy like Darion Prescott, a top edge rusher out of Illinois that has taken a couple of trips out to Oregon already early on in his process. So Oregon's done a really good job, as they usually do, laying a song solid foundation with some of these guys before they are like officially on the clock, before we get to that June 15th sweet spot where they can ramp up contact with these rising juniors that we just passed. So I'm expecting another great class for Oregon, but it's a little bit of a mystery now, you know, who's ultimately going to be in the fold here. So we got a long way to go and. And I'm excited to cover another class for the Ducks.

Usually, Josh, you don't see a quarterback commits and then decommit within a week. I mean you, you guys covered, you know, the kid who, you know, had like three flips in a single day. I, I get that. But for a quarterback who goes to a Catholic school and then commits to Notre Dame to fly flip to a different school after a week, that's just something you do not see very often.

Josh, you're talking four star quarterback Trey Taglia Ferry. He made a commitment. Six days later, a decommitment. And then I think maybe the most shocking part of it, three days after that, he commits to the Oklahoma Sooner. So he obviously had Oklahoma on his mind when he decommitted. But Mike, explain what was the breakdown here.

Ultimately, I think the simplest way to put this is that look when he committed to Notre Dame, Oklahoma, I had wrote that Oklahoma and Penn State were the two other schools that were really in the mix. More so Oklahoma than the Nittany Lions. So he commits to Notre Dame. And I think again, the easiest way to put it is that Oklahoma is really where he wanted to be, but that was not really available to him. Now you might think, oh, did he not have a committable offer? Like, I'm not going to jump into that side of it because I think it could be even more complicated than that. But Oklahoma is where he wanted to be. Didn't have that available to him to commit. And then once it did become available, he was like, this is really where I want to be. And like, yeah, it might be a bad look for me to flip after a week, but I mean, better now than later, I guess. So he goes ahead and makes that move to the sooner. So, you know, it. It's not ideal for Notre Dame. I mean, on one hand I can't be like, when he commits like, oh, this is a great player. But then he commits like, oh, like, oh, well, he is not very good. He's a great quarterback prospect. But I think at the same time, Notre Dame is going to be just okay with 2028 quarterback recruiting.

Right. We are talking 2028. So even though it's a year and a half from now when these guys will sign, top quarterbacks are coming off the board. Notre Dame loved what they had in Trey. So where does Notre Dame go from here? It's early, but it's not that early.

Yeah, I think the last time I had checked, it was like maybe three or four of the top 40 quarterbacks for the rivals industry ranking in that class had committed. So the, the good thing is it's not like they're. They're like, oh, well, who's still out there? They, they have their board kind of set. I think the biggest one to watch right now is Lucas Proc from the Northeast. He's someone that Notre Dame's had on campus a few times. You know, he. He's really likes the Fighting Irish. I'd say Notre Dame is probably one of his top two or three options right now. So I think for Notre Dame, you're going to look at him as the one that you've offered. They've offered some other guys, but they're either training elsewhere or have committed to other programs. So I think Proc is the big one. And then I would expect quarterbacks coach Gino Caduli to take this into the fall, evaluate more guys that maybe he didn't pull the trigger on before, but now after early junior season, he likes them more and could offer then. So I think that's where this Thing will go from here.

Okay, plenty of time. But in a really interesting development that we don't see all the time now, speaking of flips, let's. Let's go back to 2027, the current class that we're in. We saw greedy James, the DB committed to Texas, flip to lsu. Now Notre Dame was heavily involved there, but in the end it was probably going to all be lsu. So that being said, who are the Notre Dame flip targets? You think the Irish will stay on between now and signing day?

I thought Notre Dame had a good chance with James. I didn't see LSU coming honestly going into ovs, but hey, it's recruiting. Anything can happen. I might surprise you with with this if there is going to be as I'm thinking about, I mean the offense, they're pretty much done on offense looking on the defensive side of the ball. If there's going to be a flip, we'll see with db because you don't get James, you're still going to need a defensive back maybe two. We'll kind of see where that trends. I think they're going to go all out on Kaden Henderson. Why would you not? I mean Notre Dame was right there on.

I mean Chad Simmons and I log predictions for him to go to Notre Dame a few days before the commitment. Yeah, and then that one was another wild one down the stretch. The Aggies get that one done, but the dotted line has not been signed. That's gonna, you know, take place several months from now. So if I'm Notre Dame, you still need another linebacker in this class, assuming you get Roman Agua B, the four star from Chicago who's going to announce this decision later this week. So if you get Roman, you still need a second linebacker in this class. If they were so close to landing Henderson already, why not go after him? So I do expect Notre Dame to keep that line of communication open. He didn't officially visit Notre Dame in the summer, so that is still open for him to potentially do in the fall. So that's the big one I'm watching headed into.

I did not remember that they still had that OV in their back pocket. So that could get real tricky. But also Notre Dame fans, don't worry, you're not the only ones that ran into the Texas A and M buzz saw Mark Matthews. All the expert predictions rolled in for Miami about eight days before his commitment. Well, four days before his commitment. Here come the Texas A and M predictions. Very similar to the K.J. henderson. And hey, look, A and M doesn't land everybody they want. There's a guy named Albert Simeon that some people were penciling into that Aggies class that is now committed to the Irish. So, you know, the winds go both ways. But the Aggies are recruiting at a clip that nobody else in the country. Right now is at number one class in the nation by a wide margin. All right, summer winners are starting to emerge. Obviously Notre Dame is one of those. So in your opinion, what was Notre Dame's biggest recruiting win of the summer?

Yeah, just in the month of June alone. Four commitments, including multiple five stars and Albert Simeon, who you mentioned, and of course Abraham C, say from Pennsylvania, picking the Irish, you know, over LSU and. And other programs. You, you really can't go wrong, you know, with picking like a Simeon or, you know, C. Say they also landed Seguin Alexander, big time pass rusher, interior guy from the state of Georgia. Look, you can't go wrong. I'm going Julius Jones, though, he's a top hundred wide receiver. Like Notre Dame fans, since I've been, you know, since I started covering Notre Dame football recruiting several years ago, fans have been clamoring for just elite playmakers at the wide receiver position. Now, Julius Jones isn't a five star guy. He's. He's 510, 170, 180 pounds. He's not this like big guy, but man, is he dynamic out of the slot. Think Jordan Fazon, Notre Dame fans, but more electric. And I think Jordan Faison is super electric. So that's really what you're getting in Julius Jones. He's a Notre Dame legacy. Like every year, Josh, there's just like this big headliner of the class for Notre Dame, that Musket guy for this year, like last year it was Joey o', Brien, the five star safety from Pennsylvania. This year for me, it was Julius Jones.

I mean, could you imagine if Julius Jones didn't go to Notre Dame and ends up at Oregon in that high powered offense? A Julius Jones in an Oregon uniform wouldn't make sense. Sense. So in terms of a must get, I, I completely understand where you're coming from.

From that standpoint, just being a playmaker at a needed position, the, the one thing I've seen from some fans, you know, whether it's Notre Dame fans or rival fans, are like, oh, of course Julius Jones picked Notre Dame. Here's the thing, Josh. There's been legacies who don't end up at Notre Dame.

And so it's and it's it's not like he's an offensive lineman from the Midwest legacy like Notre Dame has, you know, that that in this class. But it is an elite wide receiver down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, you know, you have Miami in his backyard. They offered him when he was a freshman. Oregon's flashy, so they had a built in advantage, but they needed to knock this one out of the park. And I think they did with Julius Jones, obviously he's committed and they also got his younger brother committed, too. It's not too bad himself.
