as one defensive coordinator comes out praising Texas quarterback Arch Manning in his second full year of starting for the the Texas Longhorns. And we got to break it all down. What's up guys? It's no secret that last year Arch Manning did not live up to the expectations that were laid out before the season started. And that was mostly not because he didn't play well and mostly because the expectations were next to impossible for a quarterback entering his first year as the full time starting quarterback for a program, especially a quarterback who week one was going to be facing. The defense at which we didn't know at the time but at the end of the year was the best defense statistically in all college football. So there were some other other obstacles going around with the beginning of Arch Manning's season last year that made it look worse than it actually was. But this year Arch comes in with more expectations as that last name is always going to have as the horns on the side of your helmet are always going to have as well. And let's jump into what an what we have here from Thomas Goldkamp with On3 who writes he's handled this situation better than anybody could possibly do, an SEC defensive coordinator told ESPN the expectations aren't fair. So personally I hope he has a great year. Hopefully he has an off game against us. This is an SEC defensive coordinator expecting Arch Manning to have a great year this year. He's just saying, just not against my team. Now, this SEC defensive coordinator remains anonymous throughout the article. So we don't know who it was, but you have to imagine it was at least a pretty good defense because the SEC doesn't really bring bad defense to the table. Let's continue here with this article. He can absolutely rip it like velocity, accuracy. Said that same SEC defensive coordinator. He got a little bit out of whack and made some mistakes and then people were really defending him. It's going to be really easy this year because people are going to have to double Cam Coleman. He's a real one and so is Ryan Wingo. So it's like you can't double both of them. That's absolutely right. The, the, the guy that really last year stopping Texas offense was about stopping Arch Manning. The wide receivers were solid, but we were expecting more, especially after coming off of seasons where we just watched Matthew golden go out to the first round via the Green Bay packers selection. The year before that, we, with Xavier Worthy. We, you know, recently saw Adonai Mitchell. The wide receivers for Texas have been very good lately, but last year the drop rate as a whole was too high.

Really, the. What I'm trying to say here is it wasn't all put on Arch Manning. I understand why it was, but it should not have been. Because when you're the starting quarterback, you're going to get too much praise when your team wins, you're going to get too much blame when your team loses. That's just the, the nature of the position. A lot of people look at an offense, really not even an offense. People look at an entire football team and blame the quarterback when they lose. They praise a quarterback when they win, even if the defense won the football game. So that's what you're going to get. That is the expectation that Arch Manning signed up for when he signed on to join the Longhorns. That's what, you know, when he started being a quarterback, he knows that the leadership position, you're going to be the guy always. Some people want that designation, some people don't. Arch Manning is of course someone who wants that designation, but that doesn't mean that the expectations were, you know, were, were fair last year just because he signed up for something like that. You got to remember Arch Manning, while talented, it's not, it's not, it's not as beneficial as People like it, like to make it out to be the fact that Arch Manning and Peyton Manning or the Archie Manning, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning are as good as they are. But Archmanning is still or still was a high schooler joining college football. Now he's a college student who is, you know, an athlete and a tremendous football player at the same time. But we have to remember he's not a superhero. He is prone to pitfalls and you know your highs and lows just like any other college football player will be. We're hoping and expecting this year it's going to be a lot more highs for our starting quarterback than lows. And of course that improvement starts with Arch Manning's development getting a little bit better. Continues with the addition of Cam Coleman, the number two ranked player in the transfer portal by Rivals. The number one ranked wide receiver in the transfer portal. Cam Coleman is going to light the SEC on fire in a way that he was unable to do largely due to quarterback play back with the Auburn Tigers. Cannot wait to see what Cam Coleman is going to do this upcoming season. He just had that amazing one handed catch that I'm sure everyone watching this video has seen. Everyone was complaining about, oh yo, who threw that ball. That that ball looked really bad. The pass was probably tipped. It was probably tipped. I'm sure the people watching this video are not the people saying that, but people love to find ways to try to hate on Arch Manning and I get why they do it, but there it's just hate. It's not actually backed up. So Cam Coleman set up to help this offense have a great year. Going back to that article real quick from Gold camp and what that SEC defensive coordinator said in this second line here, Arch got a little bit out of whack and made some mistakes. That is referencing Arch Manning's mechanics weren't amazing last year, which has to improve. That's probably the number one thing that he has to improve. With his mechanics getting better, you would imagine the passes are going to come out a little bit better in terms of timing. They're certainly going to come out a lot better in terms of accuracy and it's just Arch needs more reps with better mechanics and overall needs more experience, more development. Our Inside Texas writers are reporting Texas's defense going crazy in the fourth practice of the Texas Longhorns training camp. Coming from Inside Texas right here. The first update we have, we're going to keep it with the Arch theme here. Arch Manning was good. Not great, but good. Considering the withering pass rush is better than pretty much anything he'll face all year is probably good enough for this part of camp. He was especially accurate during the early portions of practice. That's an improvement from recent days where he was a bit hit or miss even in drill work. Before we finish, before we continue with this, this and the next couple Inside Texas updates written by Eric Naleen with Inside Texas. Just gotta quickly give credit where credit is due. So Arch Manning first couple practices for Texas. We have been reporting that he has looked like a player that, you know, hasn't been at practice for a while. It looked like the receiving core was had a couple drops. The quarterbacks looked a little bit rusty. We chalked it up to just getting into the swing of training camp and it looks like we were right to be chalking it up to that. The the rust is starting to dissipate. Players are starting to the quarterbacks get more accurate. Wide receivers aren't dropping as many passes. We're getting up to speed here. That's exactly what we are looking for. But this next thing that we got to talk about here Second line here from Eric Nalin. We'll starting with the first line going into the second line considering the withering pass rush is better than pretty much anything he'll face all year. We are hearing that the pass rush for the Texas Longhorns is something absolutely unbelievable, off the charts. Great to witness the inside information talking about the defensive line, nalin writes. We all know about Colin Simmons and the emergence of Justice Terry, but Lance Jackson had his best practice of camp so far. For all the hopeful talk and speculation about improved strength, the line's biggest advantage might be quickness. Even the big guys are quick. This pairs well with the movement that Muschamp likes to deploy. So we reported at Inside Texas that this year the Longhorns were putting an extra emphasis on lifting heavy in the offseason with an extra aggression on the run game. You're going to run the football more, so you would expect that if you're lifting more, you're going to put on more muscle, you're going to bulk up, you're going to be a little bit slower, right? That makes perfect sense. However, that's not what we're seeing. We are seeing the Texas players coming out larger as we were expecting, but they're quick as well, which is just a you would have thought that would be the trade off. It has not been the trade off. The defensive line has been the talk of Texas training camp and is not even close. On a team that features the number one star in college football in Arch Manning, you would imagine Arch Manning would be the star of the show. That shows you how important this defensive line group has been and how impressive they've been so far. This early in training camp, we got to throw up the Justice Terry profile again from Rivals because he's been unbelievable. If you don't know the name, you'll know the name Week one. But if you want to know the name, if you don't know the name and you want to know the name before week one, here's a name. Justice Terry, 2025's number two ranked defensive line recruit, number 13 ranked recruit in the nation for the year 2025. He now enters his second year with the Texas Longhorns and Justice Terry is primed for big things. He's making life miserable on our offensive lineman. Overall, the defensive line is showing out and the defense for the Texas Longhorns under Will Muschamp looks absolutely amazing. Another update that we have here coming from Inside Texas. Multiple sources came away impressed with the defensive line's performance, particularly during the team portion of practice. One of the major points of emphasis was third down, something that Will Muschamp has made clear must become a strength if this defense wants to maximize. One source believes the defense didn't allow a single third down conversion during the team portion. That's pretty impressive. Zero third down conversions is pretty crazy. Now, some people may look at that and say, well, the offense has to be better and that that might be what it is. But you combine this report with everything that we've heard about the defensive line and that leads you to believe that it's the defensive line showing up and doing amazingly well, not the offense not playing very well. So far the defense has been a little bit ahead of the offense, but that is because the defense is going to be elite this year and looks like they are taking so many steps forwards and guys are just looking absolutely amazing right now. And that continues to be evidenced by another update that we get here on Colin Simmons coming from Evan Vieth from inside Texas football team Texas Edge. Colin Simmons lands in the top 10 of Feldman's freak list. Feldman is a yeah, I believe he's freelance, but he is a writer that every year puts out his freak list of NFL draft prospects that are big, fast, strong. All the good stuff that you're looking for, really, it doesn't necessarily come down to how good you are at football. It's really more of a how athletic are you and how rare are your athletic traits? And Colin Simmons landing In the top 10 of this list shows that he is very, very athletic on top of being incredibly skilled, which we already knew Colin Simmons was, as evidenced by his very impressive sack totals over the first two years of his career with the Texas Longhorns. And he seems, or doesn't seem, he's a great guy off the field as well. And we have more on that. Simmons motor is just as impressive as his explosiveness. Here's a testament to that. He's been clocked at 20.22 miles per hour, including in last year's Red River Rivalry win over Oklahoma when he hit 19.2 miles per hour in the fourth quarter of that game. His off the field efforts also stand out. The 20 year old runs a foundation called Clay's Color Crew, named for his brother Clayton, who has autism with his mother Monica McCarley. Supporting kids with autism and on the spectrum through color and community. So great player on the field. Super athletic, super skilled, productive. Going to be a top 10 pick in the NFL. Maybe a top five pick in the NFL. Maybe the first defensive player taken in a loaded 2027 draft off the field. Colin Simmons, Great guy. Could not ask for more. He was especially accurate during the early portions of practice. That's an improvement from recent days where he was a bit hit or miss even in drill work. Before we finish, before we continue with this, this and the next couple Inside Texas updates written by Eric Naleen with Inside Texas. Just gotta quickly give credit where credit is due. So Arch Manning first couple practices for Texas. We have been reporting that he has looked like a player that, you know, hasn't been at practice for a while. It looked like the receiving core was had a couple drops. The quarterbacks looked a little bit rusty. We chalked it up to just getting into the swing of training camp and it looks like we were right to be chalking it up to that. The the rust is starting to dissipate. Players are starting to the quarterbacks get more accurate. Wide receivers aren't dropping as many passes. We're getting up to speed here. That's exactly what we are looking for. But this next thing that we got to talk about here Second line here from Eric Nalin. We'll starting with the first line going into the second line considering the withering pass rush is better than pretty much anything he'll face all year. We are hearing that the pass rush for the Texas Longhorns is something absolutely unbelievable, off the charts. Great to witness the inside information talking about the defensive line, nalin writes. We all know about Colin Simmons and the emergence of Justice Terry, but Lance Jackson had his best practice of camp so far. For all the hopeful talk and speculation about improved strength, the line's biggest advantage might be quickness. Even the big guys are quick. This pairs well with the movement that Muschamp likes to deploy. So we reported at Inside Texas that this year the Longhorns were putting an extra emphasis on lifting heavy in the offseason with an extra aggression on the run game. You're going to run the football more, so you would expect that if you're lifting more, you're going to put on more muscle, you're going to bulk up, you're going to be a little bit slower, right? That makes perfect sense. However, that's not what we're seeing. We are seeing the Texas players coming out larger as we were expecting, but they're quick as well, which is just a you would have thought that would be the trade off. It has not been the trade off. The defensive line has been the talk of Texas training camp and is not even close. On a team that features the number one star in college football in Arch Manning, you would imagine Arch Manning would be the star of the show. That shows you how important this defensive line group has been and how impressive they've been so far. This early in training camp, we got to throw up the Justice Terry profile again from Rivals because he's been unbelievable. If you don't know the name, you'll know the name Week one. But if you want to know the name, if you don't know the name and you want to know the name before week one, here's a name. Justice Terry, 2025's number two ranked defensive line recruit, number 13 ranked recruit in the nation for the year 2025. He now enters his second year with the Texas Longhorns and Justice Terry is primed for big things. He's making life miserable on our offensive lineman. Overall, the defensive line is showing out and the defense for the Texas Longhorns under Will Muschamp looks absolutely amazing. Another update that we have here coming from Inside Texas. Multiple sources came away impressed with the defensive line's performance, particularly during the team portion of practice. One of the major points of emphasis was third down, something that Will Muschamp has made clear must become a strength if this defense wants to maximize. One source believes the defense didn't allow a single third down conversion during the team portion. That's pretty impressive. Zero third down conversions is pretty crazy. Now, some people may look at that and say, well, the offense has to be better and that that might be what it is. But you combine this report with everything that we've heard about the defensive line and that leads you to believe that it's the defensive line showing up and doing amazingly well, not the offense not playing very well. So far the defense has been a little bit ahead of the offense, but that is because the defense is going to be elite this year and looks like they are taking so many steps forwards and guys are just looking absolutely amazing right now. And that continues to be evidenced by another update that we get here on Colin Simmons coming from Evan Vieth from inside Texas football team Texas Edge. Colin Simmons lands in the top 10 of Feldman's freak list. Feldman is a yeah, I believe he's freelance, but he is a writer that every year puts out his freak list of NFL draft prospects that are big, fast, strong. All the good stuff that you're looking for, really, it doesn't necessarily come down to how good you are at football. It's really more of a how athletic are you and how rare are your athletic traits? And Colin Simmons landing In the top 10 of this list shows that he is very, very athletic on top of being incredibly skilled, which we already knew Colin Simmons was, as evidenced by his very impressive sack totals over the first two years of his career with the Texas Longhorns. And he seems, or doesn't seem, he's a great guy off the field as well. And we have more on that. Simmons motor is just as impressive as his explosiveness. Here's a testament to that. He's been clocked at 20.22 miles per hour, including in last year's Red River Rivalry win over Oklahoma when he hit 19.2 miles per hour in the fourth quarter of that game. His off the field efforts also stand out. The 20 year old runs a foundation called Clay's Color Crew, named for his brother Clayton, who has autism with his mother Monica McCarley. Supporting kids with autism and on the spectrum through color and community. So great player on the field. Super athletic, super skilled, productive. Going to be a top 10 pick in the NFL. Maybe a top five pick in the NFL. Maybe the first defensive player taken in a loaded 2027 draft off the field. Colin Simmons, Great guy. Could not ask for more. This is exactly the type of player that, that you want representing your organization. And we could not be luckier to have a great guy here like Colin Simmons. That's what I got for this video.
