Callous who, hey, he might not be the biggest in stature, but my goodness, his recruitment has been very, very big. Whoever wants to take it first. Gentlemen, where do y' all think Texas stands with Landon? There you go, Charlie.

Hey, man, look, I feel good about this recruitment for at least. It's been over a month. I want to say, look, I would first want to put in a prediction for Landon Williams scout. All right. For Texas. So yeah, I feel good about where Texas sits. Jabar. Luke has done a great job recruiting this young man, him and his family. I don't think you asked for a better. A better gift, but he ends up picking Texas, you know, on the first for. For a first time. Well, a coach for the first time being at a program, right? You get Noah Robertson, you land this kid. Hey, man, they might build a statue, Luke. Who knows, you might get an extra vacation day from start, but you got the film going. I think this kid has the longest highlight. He may arrival table And Austin for the best highlights out there. I don't know, man. Like, he gets it done to think about it. Everybody knows he's getting the ball and you still can't stop him. Right? He had a chance to see this kid in person a few times in the state championship game. I mean, just phenomenal, Phenomenal kid, but man, tremendous running back. I think I love what Texas sits. He put giving the ball in multiple ways. He's gonna make it happen. He's a touchdown waiting to happen. So the band director might as well look around like this. All right? He scored to start the band because every time he touched the ball, he had a chance to score.

Okay, real quick, real quick. Cord. Charlie undersold it ever so slightly. Jabar Jalute did not do a great job. Jabbar Jaluk revived this recruitment from the dead. Let's be completely honest here. This recruitment was dead on arrival. Charlie can tell you off the record, his conversation with Landon Williams callous after the state championship. Texas was not in this whatsoever. And it's because they'd had multiple running back coaches come through there. And so there was no consistent connection. And even Chris Gilbert and Steve Circusian swung about Richmond Randall last year to say, hey, Landon, we still love you. Yeah, we didn't mean to forget you. We're gonna get this running back room just right and we're gonna come back after you. And they hired Jabbar Jalu. Jalu comes in there and he's like the undertaker in WWE coming up out of his casket. I mean, it's like this is huge because I'm trying to tell you, a lot of times these kids grow up, you know, love in Texas, wanting to go. So this is, this recruitment is so much bigger than that too. And yeah, Charlie started off because Charlie's been first on a lot of this stuff. He's had some of the best contacts, some of the best info on this information. I've gotten to know Landon the most because I've been around him for almost two and a half years now. Yeah. Sam McGuffey, Tavon Austin, Noel Devine and, and this guy that when it comes to all time highlight tapes, it's a big decision and just, yeah, I just want to make sure people understand. Jabar Jaluke really came through on this. I, I, I feel really good about Texas and it's not just because, because like with the Noah Roberts, Noah Roberts always kind of like Texas always had a, kind of a connection. A lot of these kids do. I'm trying to tell you lwc didn't want to have anything to do with Texas. So the way this thing flipped and turned and then in the way Texas did it. Oh man, just caps off, you know, Capital.

Hey, well said fellas. I mean Sam McGuffey, sure incredible highlight tape out of high school. He was the first, it was fun. But Noel Devine, dude give me chills a little bit when he brought that name up, what he did at West Virginia in the car at the college level. A little bit different from McGuffey. One of my just, I mean again, just one of more pleasant on the ice backs, if you will, that you're ever going to find high school, college, either or he was, he's a blast to watch. Any agreement here should be a five star like Jay Gray was. He's had a lot of usage like J. Gray.

That's the part of Jay Gray I don't like. He has a lot of tread. He does, that's been used. I, I, I'll say this, I hate the four star, five star thing because I, it's usually one or two little small semantic things. If Landon Williams callous is 5 11. Yeah. If he's, if he's 210 and he's already, what is he, wait, 2 0. What does he weigh, Charlie, like 190?

Yeah, I don't think he's in 200 yet.

He's not 200 yet, but I think he's in that 190 range. Yeah, if he was 5 11, 200, 205 pounds, he'd be a five star. The only thing that's holding him back from being a five star is the fact of his size. That, that's my opinion. That's my opinion. I know Cody Belair and Charles Power do a great job with those rankings. I'll say this, if he finishes 20, 26 the way he did the last two years at Randall 1, they'll have a statue of him at that high school. But I think he'll be a five star in the rankings release.

Yeah, he has a big matchup. Week 1 vs. South Oak Cliff at preview. I've shared the rematch of the state championship. So let him go. Great game.

I'm just saying, you know, you know what? Coach Todd, I love that Coach Todd and and samples. Those guys will and coach Mathis, they will go schedule the toughest guys on the block. You know, people holler at them quite a bit but if you watch their scheduling, they will get the toughest guys every year. If you call them for a game, they're going to take it. And I love that because there's a lot of guys in Texas high school football that don't do that.

Look natural catching the football. I do want to say this to Victor's point of transmission. We're all three East Texas guys on here. We grew up running the football. After I formation, it didn't matter. You were the only running back. You got numbers of carries and you didn't worry about tread on the tires or anything like that. Like the way we grew up, you ran the ball. May run 300 times a season like it didn't matter. So why does it matter so much today than it did back then? We used to actually hit.

If he doesn't. You know how you, you know how you can get away with 300 carries and being just fine going into your freshman year in college? Don't get laid out.

You know why Emmett Smith lasted so long in the NFL? No one ever hit him. Yeah, he wouldn't let you hit him. Have you seen anyone hit Landon Williams? Callous. I saw Jonathan Gray go head up on guys at Alito. He was a big boy. He could do that. Landon Williams is like, not in the Ferrari. Well, we, we go scoot around. We're gonna go, we're gonna get versatile. I, I would, I, I would. You know, there'd be a tinge of worry with Brian Randall is an amazing coach there at Richard Randall. And he does, he knows exactly what he's doing with Landon Williams. He's always put him in the best positions possible. That's the key with Landon. You can have a lot of carries. Just don't get a hit. A Lot. You got to do it like Emmett Smith. You got to get grazed. You got to get knocked down. You got to go. You got to know when to go low. You got to know when to hit the ground. Landon Williams has some of that as well. So I see your worry and I, I. Okay, real quick. Deuce Vaughn. Deuce Vaughn was this big, even small. Deuce Vaughn was literally at one point I covered his recruitment and I put him in my pocket. Okay. Deuce Vaughn is this big. He's much big. He's bigger than douchebag. And okay. And then the other one, Barry Sanders. I. I do this every about probably three or four times a year. There's no other. There's no comparison. No, don't ever. And at this moment in life.

Our humanity has never seen another back like Barry Sanders. I want to see another. He's my favorite player all time ever in football. I want to see another Barry. He. Nobody's Barry. Not even Barry is Barry.

So I will say this gives me a little bit of PTSD because I don't know if it's a Quentin Griffith reference, but it's kind of close to. I don't know. I don't want to talk about it. More than that. It'll be cool. It'd be cool if you did it on our side.

I think he's gonna open a bunch of presents. I think he's gonna get a bunch of text messages. I think he's gonna get a bunch of birthday graphics. I think it's gonna be just another day. He's gonna turn 17 years old. You know, sometimes I was going through this the other day with one of the, with a source close to the recruitment and I'm like, man, this kid. And he reminded me, Justin, he's 16. And I, I can barely handle social media in my 40s, much less a 16 year old getting it from both sides. And I talked about this with Jamie Newberg, Josh Newberg yesterday On the, the On3 Rivals recruiting channel. It. I don't think anything's gonna happen tomorrow. Honestly, I don't know. I don't know. But I do know there's three things. He's, he loves Texas, he loves that opportunity. There's a reason he committed early and he's still so attached to him. And as of today, I'd say Texas may actually have the flag blowing their way a little bit more at this moment. But he also wants to stay close to home. He also loves the idea of playing home. And there is immense pressure on that kid to choose to stay home. And so he's, he's struggling. I mean, I know people get a little frustrated with his recruitment and I get it, but the kid is struggling. The kid wants to make the right decision. He wants to tell everybody what they want to hear. And it's tough. It's tough because they're making him make a grown man decision at his age. So I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. He could flip. He could, you know, can't, you know, shut it down. I honestly think he's going to open some presents. He's going to be really happy. He's going to watch LSU season potentially play out, see how the offense looks. He's going to do the same for Texas. The truth is he doesn't have to make any decisions anytime soon. Like he's, he's got his spot and if he wants another one, that spot's not going anywhere. So I think it's going to be a little melodramatic. But I only thing, I hope that, I hope he gets some gift cards. I hope you get some gift cards. I'm a big gift card guy.

I want to reiterate one point that you made, Jay, that I think is a very good point that we all know, but that I think just your common college football fan might not really understand. But the pressure of in state kids in Louisiana to choose LSU is a much different pressure, a much different expectation rather than, you know, you're going to find anywhere else in the country. I mean nowhere else. It's, it's a lot different. And so do, do take into mind what Justin said. This is a young, a young, young man making a very big, big grown man decision that, where there's a lot of pressure involved in who just clearly wants to do the right thing. Michael, you're on a roll right now. I'm going to give you credit. Lane Kiffin's making the cake. We've seen, we've seen cakes made.

I've heard. I hope it's better than Jordan Elliott's cake that Jim Harbaugh made.

Standard geography setting a standard. Any cake ever produced ever on social media related to college football content. Again, you, the bar is pretty low. You got, you're safe, you know, if anyone out there wants to try it

but another really quick note on Royal but that, that you were saying Cord, I don't, I'm not saying the family gets ostracized in the town, but it's not a good look because we've seen it happen before. When they do leave, that family takes it on the chin sometimes. And that's a, that just adds to the pressure of those. No state, no school keeps players in state better than Louisiana State, than lsu. Nobody. And it's because of that.

Yep. I mean it helps you. Again, one of the hotter town beds in the, in the country.

I mean I've been down to south Louisiana more times than I can remember for this job and for other jobs and man, it's the, the talent down there is different. They got some different cats, man. They just are South Florida, south Louisiana, East Texas. That's where the crazy ones roam.

And the majority of them are taught to bleed purple and gold, if you will, from a very, very early age, so.

Oh, it's. It's ingrained in them. Plus, with all the success LSU has had in the last 20, 25 years since Saban showed up before Saving showed up to LSU, they didn't do anything for like 50 years,

But then, look, I like when Texas sits early for Foster, man. Look, I was gonna say his dad teaches at Lancaster. Him and Coach Chris. Chris Gilbert are closed. Like it makes sense. And Justin tell you, this recruitment just makes sense for him to be at Texas. I want to see which way his body grows. Like, I know he plays safety now so much bigger, man. He could. He could be that will.

Rashima Raheem Bilesman, however you pronounce his first name, I know we got corrected on Monday. And so I want to see which way he kind of develops and what he grows into. I want to say he's over 205 now, man. I saw this kid in person at the Under Armor camp. We saw them both together and didn't. He was shutting down dudes. I think he walked away from MVP dominating one on ones, however last. However long it lasted. But, man, terrific safety. Smart kid, strong kid, man. He can run, he can hit, he does everything. But I just want to see which way his body takes him because he may go from being the number two, no. 1 safety in a whole class to a top line back in the class. We'll see, though.

I want to give a shout out to Lancaster High School. They just hired one of my favorite recruits that I covered probably 10, 15 years ago. Bronson Boom Massey, out of Lufkin High School. One of my favorite kids I ever got to cover. Went and started at Kansas State for a few years. Played at K State for, for his career. And then he's been coaching. He's been in the high school coaching circle for the last few seasons. He was. I believe it was announced yesterday that he was brought on to Lancaster. Big fan of Boom. Texas is in a great spot, but there's other schools. Texas Tech, Texas A m. I think USC's in it. I want to say Oregon might be around it a little bit. And here's one more thing I really, really like about James Foster. He. He's very low key on social media like you can. He will barely pay attention to it. And the greatest thing is the last two visits he made to Texas weren't even publicized. He just showed up and sort of slid in.
