Texas Longhorns just got so much good news as our insiders continue to get us the latest updates on Texas practice. We got that and we got more updates coming from the landscape of college football pertaining to the Texas Longhorns and we got to break it all down. What's up guys? I'm Matt Long. But let's jump right into what we got for today because right now there is one player that or there are two players actually that that everyone is talking about. The first name is going to be Cam Coleman, the biggest transfer portal acquisition of the Texas Longhorns. Cam Coleman was ranked the number one wide receiver in the transfer portal and number two overall player in the transfer portal. We got a great update on our guy Cam Coleman coming from Eric Naleen with Inside Texas. Cam Coleman had two touchdowns on Thursday. One came during seven on seven, the other came during the team portion. Coleman also made a one handed catch on an over out at as the source said on Thursday. Cam Coleman being Cam Coleman. Now that's exactly what we want to hear. We have been hearing Cam Coleman like we just heard Great day on Thursday. We also heard earlier and by earlier I mean yesterday. We heard from Inside Texas's guys that Wednesday during the closed portion of practice that we were not able to deliver the updates on Wednesday because it was closed and we had to get leaks and drips and drabs later. We heard Cam Coleman also played really well in Wednesday's practice, which is not surprising at all. If you know who Cam Coleman is. I understand he doesn't get the same amount of hype as the other two top three wide receivers in the 2024 recruiting class with Cam Coleman did. And those two guys, Jeremiah Smith for Ohio State, Ryan Coleman Williams for Alabama. Those two players get a lot more hype. But that's only because Cam Coleman was, I'm not going to say stuck, but he was on Auburn with suspect quarterback play in Coleman's freshman year. It was a if you have two quarterbacks, you really have none situation for the Auburn Tigers. And then in his sophomore year they brought in former five star recruit Jackson Arnold from Oklahoma in the transfer portal. That didn't work out for Auburn either. At some point Coleman said, I got to get out of here. I got to find greener pastures. I need to find myself a real quarterback. And that's exactly what he did in the transfer portal to teaming up with Texas's Arch Manning to hopefully be set up both of them for a great season this upcoming year in Austin, Texas with the Longhorns. Cam Coleman was ranked the number two wide receiver in that class by Rivals. So in between Jeremiah Smith 1, Ryan Coleman Williams at 3 gets less hype because Alabama has a ton of media on them. Ohio State ton of media on them. Auburn a lot of media on them, but not as much as those other two programs. Let's jump into our next player that we got dive into here because there is one defensive lineman who has gotten a ton of hype. Wednesday got hype. Thursday got hype. It's only continuing so much that Hero Canoe came out and had to speak about just how good this defensive lineman has been and that defensive lineman is going to be Justice Terry. The word generational isn't really thrown out all that much, but that was the exact word that Hero Canoe had to say when describing Justice Terry. Coming from Evan Veith within outside Texas, the word generational is not thrown around all that often. And yet the fourth year defensive tackle knows what he sees in sophomore defensive lineman Justice Terry. He's definitely a generational talent, canoe said. Really, really good guy. Obviously got to stay healthy and got to make sure he's doing his job coming along following the lead. Terry is a popular breakout candidate in the Texas sphere for good reason. Terry was the number two defensive tackle in the class of 2025 and flashed late in his freshman Texas, notching the game winning pressure that led to a Marcel Reed interception sealing the win for the Texas Longhorns. Now the interception that they're talking about was the pickoff by Michael Taft over the middle of the field versus Texas A and M, intercepting Marcel Reed at the end of that game to seal it for the Longhorns. So that was a huge play already. You know, throw that in the the highlight tape. When we get the highlight tape, when we get the career highlights for Justice Terry, throw in that pressure. A lot of people are to look at just the interception and that's their takeaway from the play. But if you look at the big picture, we know that bad passes are forced by pressure created up the middle and that's exactly what Terry created on that play. Now Justice Terry continues to get a ton of hype and he's putting himself in position to be that next breakout next high draft pick defensive lineman for the Texas Longhorns and we could not be more excited about it. Also reported by Inside Texas is that he's put on somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 pounds as he gets a training camp. This year Inside Texas has reported that he is up to £290 which is different than what he's currently reported at by on three, which is six feet four and a half inches, 275 pounds. So we are expecting 15 more pounds already on top of what was already a really, really large human being. Doesn't sound fun at all. To try to block him, we got more updates. Now we have more updates from across the landscape of college football as multiple awards have put out their watch list and many of these awards have Texas Longhorns on it. Starting off with the Maxwell Award, which is given away to the most well rounded player in college football. It's essentially the best player in college football. In fact, it's a really a smaller Heisman Trophy and many times the same player will get both the Heisman Trophy and the Maxwell Award this year. Arch Manning, the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, finds himself on this list. We are expecting a big year from Arch Manning, which is exactly what we were expecting last year. But this time it's different because Arch is going to be put behind what should be a better offensive line. What we hope to be an improved receiving core, which we certainly know is going to be led by the best wide receiver that Arch Manning has played with. And then on top of it, he has all of the experience from being Texas's starting quarterback last year, which was something that unfortunately the lack of experience was on display for Arch Manning last year. We're hoping for more accuracy, better mechanics and an overall better outcome for the Texas Longhorns. If Arch Manning does end up pulling down the Maxwell Award at the end of the year, that would mean he has taken those requisite steps. He has, you know, learned to correct the mechanical problems that led him astray and turned his accuracy down a little bit last year. And hopefully, you know, Arch Manning is on his way to being the number one overall pick in the draft. Because if Arch is the number one pick in the draft, that likely means he had a great year for the Texas Longhorns. Let's jump into some other award watch list that we got to be paying attention to. And the next award is going to be the Remington Trophy, which is given away to the number one center in college football. Texas's center Connor Robertson has been announced as one of the players on the watch list for this award as well. You can add. So you know Connor Robertson is going to be one of three Texas offensive line starters who are going to be on watch list. The other two are going to be Brandon Baker and Trevor Goosby tabbed for the Outland Trophy preseason watch list. This article coming from Justin Wells with Inside Texas. But Trevor Goosby, Brandon Baker and Connor Robertson, that is three Texas offensive linemen all on watch lists for postseason awards. Now let's jump to the defensive side of the football where we have more watch lists of players. Getting some recognition here again coming from Justin Wells with Inside Texas Football. Rasheem Biles and Colin Simmons named to the Bronco Nagursky Trophy preseason watch list. Bronco Nagurski Trophy given away to the number one defensive player in in college football. Colin Simmons is a Texas player who needs no introduction, especially not to Texas fans. But Colin Simmons returns to Austin, Texas for his third season in college football. We're expecting another double digit year of sacks, probably 14 sacks, maybe 15 sacks. Colin Simmons is a player who can lead the entire FBS in sack totals. He's going to be amazing. We don't need to spend a ton of time on him. Rasheem Biles is he's going to be the name on this list that maybe Texas fans don't know as well. Rasheem Biles, one of the top transfers in the transfer portal. He was ranked as on 3's number one linebacker in the transfer portal and number 15 overall player in the transfer portal. Biles comes from Pitt, so he's going to be making the jump from the ACC over to the SEC and hopefully he can make a big impact on the Texas defense. Our defense was amazing last season. We're expecting it to be amazing again. We are dialed in, getting excited. These training camps sound like they're going really well. You can really see the impact that lifting heavier has had on this program and its players over the offseason. Guys are looking strong coming in. Now we have more updates from across the landscape of college football as multiple awards have put out their watch list and many of these awards have Texas Longhorns on it. Starting off with the Maxwell Award, which is given away to the most well rounded player in college football. It's essentially the best player in college football. In fact, it's a really a smaller Heisman Trophy and many times the same player will get both the Heisman Trophy and the Maxwell Award this year. Arch Manning, the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, finds himself on this list. We are expecting a big year from Arch Manning, which is exactly what we were expecting last year. But this time it's different because Arch is going to be put behind what should be a better offensive line. What we hope to be an improved receiving core, which we certainly know is going to be led by the best wide receiver that Arch Manning has played with. And then on top of it, he has all of the experience from being Texas's starting quarterback last year, which was something that unfortunately the lack of experience was on display for Arch Manning last year. We're hoping for more accuracy, better mechanics and an overall better outcome for the Texas Longhorns. If Arch Manning does end up pulling down the Maxwell Award at the end of the year, that would mean he has taken those requisite steps. He has, you know, learned to correct the mechanical problems that led him astray and turned his accuracy down a little bit last year. And hopefully, you know, Arch Manning is on his way to being the number one overall pick in the draft. Because if Arch is the number one pick in the draft, that likely means he had a great year for the Texas Longhorns. Let's jump into some other award watch list that we got to be paying attention to. And the next award is going to be the Remington Trophy, which is given away to the number one center in college football. Texas's center Connor Robertson has been announced as one of the players on the watch list for this award as well. You can add. So you know Connor Robertson is going to be one of three Texas offensive line starters who are going to be on watch list. The other two are going to be Brandon Baker and Trevor Goosby tabbed for the Outland Trophy preseason watch list. This article coming from Justin Wells with Inside Texas. But Trevor Goosby, Brandon Baker and Connor Robertson, that is three Texas offensive linemen all on watch lists for postseason awards. If our players are able to live up to these expectations, that means Texas has a great offensive line, a great quarterback in Arch Manning, if he gets the Maxwell and overall that can lead to Texas reaching the precipice of college football, winning that national championship that we know we're going after. Now let's jump to the defensive side of the football where we have more watch lists of players. Getting some recognition here again coming from Justin Wells with Inside Texas Football. Rasheem Biles and Colin Simmons named to the Bronco Nagursky Trophy preseason watch list. Bronco Nagurski Trophy given away to the number one defensive player in in college football. Colin Simmons is a Texas player who needs no introduction, especially not to Texas fans. But Colin Simmons returns to Austin, Texas for his third season in college football. We're expecting another double digit year of sacks, probably 14 sacks, maybe 15 sacks. Colin Simmons is a player who can lead the entire FBS in sack totals. He's going to be amazing. We don't need to spend a ton of time on him. Rasheem Biles is he's going to be the name on this list that maybe Texas fans don't know as well. Rasheem Biles, one of the top transfers in the transfer portal. He was ranked as on 3's number one linebacker in the transfer portal and number 15 overall player in the transfer portal. Biles comes from Pitt, so he's going to be making the jump from the ACC over to the SEC and hopefully he can make a big impact on the Texas defense. Our defense was amazing last season. We're expecting it to be amazing again. We are dialed in, getting excited. These training camps sound like they're going really well. You can really see the impact that lifting heavier has had on this program and its players over the offseason. Guys are looking strong coming in. You can only hope that the arrow continues to point up as we get into the regular season and hopefully it continues as we get into SEC play. That's what I got for this video.
