Perenco files: Les secrets toxiques d’un géant du pétrole

En 2016, ils se sont accordés pour monter une entreprise basée sur des fonds spéculatifs dans des paradis fiscaux, aux profits des enfants d’Agnès Pannier-Runacher. Cette dernière n’en avait jamais fait état publiquement. Conflit d’intérêts ? Manque de transparence ? Origines de l’argent ? Nos révélations ont beaucoup fait parler en France, au point que la ministre a dû se déporter des dossiers Perenco par décret gouvernemental, reconnaissant l’existence d’un conflit d’intérêts suite à notre article. Nous détaillons également l’impact du second volet de notre enquête, sur les pollutions du groupe en RDC. Un scandale financier luxembourgeois menace Orpea

Depuis ces premiers articles, nos journalistes ont continué à fouiller dans les sales tiroirs des magnats de l’or gris. Ils et elles se sont en particulier concentrés sur la gestion du personnel du numéro 1 des Ehpad privés en Europe, Orpéa. Ils et elles ont découvert tout un système, détournements de missions, faux cdd de remplacements, qui a permis au groupe de capter une partie des deniers publics, destinés au bien être des résident.e.s et non à celui des actionnaires. Orpea's dirty secrets

It detailed how even though many care homes are understaffed, and there aren’t adequate resources for residents, international corporations and financial investors continue to make huge gains. One name that kept popping up was Orpea: one of the world’s largest care home providers. It has a presence in 23 countries, with 1,100 medical facilities. IE’s journalists have followed this story since and were able to reveal how Orpea has relied on a secret Luxembourg company called Lipany, and how some of its top managers carried out dubious operations through a network of companies connected to Lipany. This first #OrpeaSecrets publication was followed up with reporting on how Orpea used the same network to cover up lavish commission payments to intermediaries for new care homes in France.
