Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Deuteronomy 6:6-7

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; -Matthew 5:44

DEVOTION
Based on Matthew 5
Jesus’ teaching to love our enemies challenges the norms of human behavior. Loving those who hurt us isn’t natural—it’s supernatural, requiring a heart transformed by God’s grace. This love isn’t about condoning wrongdoing but reflecting Christ’s compassion and forgiveness, even toward those who oppose us.

Blessing those who curse us, doing good to those who hate us, and praying for our persecutors reflects God’s character. It demonstrates a faith that transcends retaliation and chooses grace instead. Such love doesn’t just change relationships; it transforms hearts, including our own.

Take time tonight to reflect on how you treat those who oppose or hurt you. Breathe out bitterness, and breathe in God’s love. Ask Him to help you love, bless, and pray for others, even in difficult situations.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for His unconditional love and mercy, which inspire us to love beyond human limitations. Celebrate His grace that empowers you to respond with kindness, even to opposition.

CONFESSION: Reflect on times when you’ve responded to enemies with anger or resentment. Confess these moments to God, and ask for His help to choose love and forgiveness instead.

THANKSGIVING: Thank God for His example of loving and forgiving you, even when you were undeserving. Express gratitude for the opportunity to reflect His love through your actions toward others.

SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to love my enemies as You have loved me. Teach me to bless, do good, and pray for those who hurt or oppose me. Give me the grace to forgive and the strength to choose kindness over retaliation. Let my actions reflect Your love and draw others to Your truth.

Dear Lord, I pray that You would envelop my home and family with love, wisdom, and righteousness. I want Your commands to be at the forefront of our mind day and night. May the culture of our family be formed, informed, and transformed by the gospel of Christ. Reign in our family as King, and command our home with love and strength. We will follow You, but even when we stumble, we trust Your love will sustain us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.🙏🏾
