There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now. I receive it right now. From the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. We are so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the Healer. Welcome. We have an audience here in the studio, and we're thankful for you joining in with us. And we come because we're hungry. So we trust that you are hungry for more of what God has for your life.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
And I would encourage you today, release your faith. As you hear the Word taught, attach your faith to it.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
Because that's when it works for us, is when we attach our heart to it. And what's in your heart is the faith of God. So attach your faith to it. We've been teaching on the mind, and we are so glad that we've been able, really been instructed by the Lord to teach that direction. Because how we think affects every arena of our life. Whether it's our marriage, whether it's our finances, whether it's our health, our business, our family, whatever arena needs the assistance of God, then something has to make sure in the thought life that we're in line with God's thinking. Because as long as we're in line with God's thinking, which is thinking in line with the Word, then his power can flow unhindered. Our life can flow unhindered. When we think wrong, we hinder the flow of God's power and what God can do for us. Because how can two walk together except they be agreed? And so we must be in agreement with the way he thinks and thank God for His Word that shows us the way he thinks. And as we take on his way of thinking, that's called the renewing of the mind. And so we trust that as you sit and watch these episodes, that your mind has that assist of being further renewed. And really, our minds are only renewed as we're doing what we hear, not just knowing it, not just saying amen. To it, but putting it in our everyday life, that's when our minds are being renewed. And so thank God for a sound mind that belongs to us in Christ. We've taken as our golden text, second Timothy, chapter one and verse seven. And this is what Paul wrote to Timothy. He said, for God has not given us the spirit of fear, but he has given us something. And he tells us what. He's given us power. Or we could say this authority, anointing. He's given us that power. He's given us. What else? He's given us his love. And what else has he given us? A sound mind. And so he has given us a sound mind. It's not us trying to get him to give us one. Jesus paid the price for our mind also. Not just for our sin and not just for sickness, but also he paid the price for a tormented mind so that we would never have to live this life with a tormented, harassed, depressed, troubled, worried or fearful mind. Amen. So let's put a demand on that. Let's not be okay with letting something in that robs us of the soundness of the mind that belongs to us.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
I like what the amplified classic says about in describing the sound mind. It says it's a calm mind. It says it is a well balanced mind. It says it's a disciplined mind and it's a controlled mind. Notice it's not God who's going to discipline it, it's us who's going to discipline it. We're going to take the word that God has given us and we're going to discipline our thought life to come into agreement with that word.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
And controlled is what amplified says. Controlled. We're not going to let our mind go where it wants to, or we're not going to let our mind do what or respond in the wrong way to how pressure from the enemy comes against the mind. We're not going to let it follow after that. Why? We stay in control of it. The devil cannot take control of your mind unless you listen to him. Listening is how he gets control of things. But we refuse to listen to the threats, the suggestions of the enemy that come against the mind. And that's how we stay in control of it.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
To stay in the flow of a sound mind, you have to answer things that are against soundness, anything that will not lead you into soundness of health, soundness of finances, soundness of thinking, soundness of behavior. You resist anything that is not of soundness. Well, what is soundness? The word? Because Sometimes people, they pattern their life completely after what they've been raised in. And that's fine if you've been raised in line with the Word. But if there's some things that you've been trained in and raised up in that are not in line with the Word, we make sure that we don't put those in front of the Word. We take the Word and replace any unsoundness with the soundness of the word.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
And so, as I said, to stay in the flow of a sound mind, we have to answer things that oppose right thinking, that oppose the soundness of mind. This is where Eve missed it. Well, she missed it in several places. She should have not been around the tree. God said, first of all, that's not your tree. Get away from that tree. And he said, don't even touch it, lest you die. But she touched it, and then they ate of it. But one of the things, too, she could have recovered herself along the way at different she had opportunities to recover herself, and she didn't. And one of the things was she didn't answer right. When the serpent started talking, she did not answer right. She did it first, but then she didn't hold on to it because she said, no, God said that we're not to eat of that. And he said, well, you know that you'll begin to be like him. And he, you know. So anyway, she should have held to that answer instead of reasoning with wrong thoughts. Wrong thoughts came, and she started reasoning in line with those wrong thoughts, and it robbed her of the right answer. And so if you listen to the wrong thing long enough, it will start making sense to you. That's why it matters that you pay attention to what you're listening to, because you will get deceived by wrong thinking. But if we listen to right thoughts, the thoughts of the Word, long enough, it will start running out wrong thinking.
Audience
Amen.

Hallelujah. And we have to know this. And just before I go any further with the direction I was planning on teaching Jesus when he was in his earthly ministry, he exposed how the enemy works. He says, when the enemy is cast out of a house, so to speak, talking about the house of a man, said, when he's cast out, he goes to dry places seeking rest. But he can't find any rest there. Why? Because he's not restful till he's getting expression in a dry place. There's no place that will yield to him. There's no place he can express himself through. So he's tormented until he can get his expression through something. So he tries to find someone who doesn't know right thinking to gain expression through. When you know how to think right, you know, you recognize wrong thinking and you refuse to cooperate or respond to wrong thinking in a way that gives it access. And so Jesus said in describing how the enemy works once he's gone out of a man, that he goes to a dry place, but he finds no rest. Why? Because he wants expression. He wants movement in someone's life. So the Bible says he comes back. Jesus was telling. He comes back to the place where he was, and he finds that that house is empty, swept and garnished, and he comes back in. And not only that, he brings more with him. So Jesus is showing us how the enemy operates. And you say, well, how did he get back in? Well, see, the house was empty. You can't be empty of the knowledge of God. You can't be empty of the wisdom of God. You can't be empty of faith. You have to have in your house this temple of the Holy Ghost, which your spirit is. The temple, you say. Well, the Bible calls the body the temple. Yes, and that's true. The body is the temple of the Holy Ghost because your body is the temple of your own spirit. And the Holy Spirit dwells in your spirit. And so we have to make sure that we are full, not empty. When we're empty, we're susceptible. When we're full, there's no room for what's wrong. What is wrong cannot gain entrance because we're full of what is right. Get full of the Word. Get full of the Holy Spirit. And when you do that in itself, fullness is a protection. Fullness protects you when you think right. That protects you. Fullness of right thinking. But if you're wavering or if you're unsure of what right thinking is, then there is room. There's a bit of a vacancy there, and the enemy will try to occupy it. That's right. Now, in the Old Testament, if you ever see the wording of the King James in the Old Testament, it will talk about bad things happening or wrong things happening, and it will basically join God with those. They'll say that God sent this devil or God sent that because they did not understand what Jesus came and taught. The reason they didn't have the same teaching we have under the New Testament is because they didn't have the same authority. They didn't have the same authority to deal with the devil the way we do under the new Covenant. Why? Because now Jesus has defeated Satan Satan, he has stripped him, reduced him to nothing. And he was he raised. He was raised from the dead, ascended on high, put his blood on the. Sprinkled his blood on the mercy seat, seated at the. Seated at the right hand of the Father. And because he was seated, we were seated, he was raised, we were raised, he was seated, we were seated. See, that doesn't describe Old Testament saints. And so because of that, they did not have the same knowledge. God did not reveal to them the same workings of the devil that Jesus revealed when he came, because they didn't have the same authority. So that's why in the writings you'll see the way it was worded that God sent this or God sent this, you know, tragedy. And because they didn't understand, because God had not revealed yet, because he couldn't reveal what they didn't have authority over yet. So that's why in many times it's stated that way. But in the translating of the Old Testament, the Hebrew, they translated things in a causative sense that God caused things when it was really a permissive sense, that God had to permit it because of what they were doing, that because they were acting outside their covenant, if they didn't obey God, then because of their disobedience, God could not help. But God couldn't keep the enemy out. For them, obedience was their protection. Obedience is still our protection, but also we have an authority that they did not have before. And this is what Jesus when he taught, he said, when an evil spirit is gone out of a man. See, they didn't have that talk in the Old Testament. Jesus came and revealed the kingdom of darkness, how it works. And so he said, when an evil spirit has gone out of a man, he goes to a dry place seeking rest, can't find anything, comes back. And he tries to go back to where he was once run out of. Well, that's still his strategy. That's why you need to know the answers. You need to know how to answer to maintain a sound mind. Because any victory you've gained, the enemy's gonna try to come back around. It's a boomerang effect. He's cast out, he tries to come back. When he comes back, he must find faith. He must find the right answer in your mouth to keep him out. And it's so important to your sound mind that you know how to answer things. You can't just hear a thought that troubles you and try to outthink it. You answer it, you tell it the right thought, you tell it well, what is the right thought. It's what God says.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
And so having a sound mind. Jesus, God gave us a sound mind. Jesus paid the price for our sound mind. But we have to do keep up our end of the deal. And what is that? We have to obey the thoughts of the word and answer, answer, answer, answer, answer, answer. Instead of listen, listen, listen to wrong thoughts. Instead of worry, worry, worry. Wrong thoughts. Instead of panic, panic, panic, answer, answer it. I don't care how long you've been saved, and I don't care how long you've walked with God. Every saint is going to hear the wrong thing, feel the wrong thing, and see the wrong thing. How that turns out depends on an answer. Depends on an answer. Because someone's been saved for a long time does not dismiss them from having to answer. You never come to a point where you don't have to answer. Wrong thoughts, answer. Wrong circumstances answer, Wrong feelings, answer, symptoms, answer, lack. You have to answer it. The life of the Christian is revealed in how well they answer. Now, that's true in school. Go to school. A teacher stands up in front of a classroom and instructs the students. They have to hear, pay attention to what's being taught. But even though they heard it, if they can't answer that right, if they can't answer that question on a test, they'll still fail even though they heard the right answers. You have to give the right answer. You have to give the right answer. You can sit in church and hear the pastor teach you your answer for the situations you're going to face in life. But if you don't ever give that answer at a time of test, see, a student at the time of testing has to write down the answer, the correct answer. And just because they heard the right answer in the teaching doesn't mean they know the right answer. You have to hold to it. You have to recognize that that's the way I think, that's the way I believe. So you have to take it and say, that's the right answer. And I'm going to hold to that. I'm going to make that part of the way I live, part of the way I think. So really, the Christian life is one of answering. Yeah, it is. You answer God, you answer the devil.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
You not only have to know how to talk to God, you have to know how to talk to the devil. You talk to God in fellowship, but you talk to the devil in authority.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
So the more answers are in your mouth, the sweeter life will be. You can know the answer in your heart. But if you don't put it in your mouth, it doesn't spend until it's in your mouth.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
So it's so important. Now, see, when that Jesus was teaching about how when an evil spirit leaves a man and he comes back, what it says. Notice Jesus said, he comes back, he finds the house empty, swept and garnished. When he came back, he should have heard answers. He should have heard answers. He should have heard something talking to that spirit. No, you're not coming back. You're not coming back. No, you don't. You're not coming back. That's not my thought. I'm not taking that thought. Depression's not my mind. I'm not taking that. Oppression's not mine. I'm not taking it. Fear's not mine. I'm not taking it. You better be good at talking to it and mean it when you say it. That's called faith. Faith is simply this. You mean it. You mean it. You mean it. You know, you say, how do I know if I'm really answering out of my heart, not just out of my head? Well, do you mean it or not? Yeah, that's right. Very good.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
You know, have you ever told someone you love them? A family member, a relative, a spouse, a child? You told them you love them? Well, was it out of your heart? Well, I don't know. Was it out of my heart? Well, did you mean it? That's how you know if it's out of your heart or not. If you meant it when you said it. People no doubt have told others they love them when they really didn't. That's how broken relationships come about. You know, you have somebody that's dating and one says they love the other one. They don't really mean it. They just want something do on Friday night, you know? Right. And so they didn't really mean it. They didn't mean it, though they said it. Faith is. You mean it. You're not just saying it because you heard it. You're not just saying it to get something on Friday night, you know, just to have a date. You're not just trying to get something in a time of emergency. You mean it. How do you mean it? It's found its way in your heart.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
So how sweet life is will be based on how well you answer. Because you can know some things. But if you lay down what you know because you feel something, see, symptoms can come, feelings can come. Unforgiveness, feelings of unforgiveness can come. Feelings. Feelings, you hear that? Feelings of unforgiveness can come, and you can feel those. And you know what the when you know what the Word says, that you forgive anybody that's done you wrong. You know what the Word says, that Jesus took your infirmities and bare your sicknesses. You know those things. It doesn't matter that you know them. If you don't answer when you feel something, people are waiting many times for the feeling to go away so that they can talk faith. But faith is for when you feel something that is wrong. When you feel something wrong, you better start talking. You better start talking. In fact, how much of the blessings of God that belong to you and how much of the victory that belongs to you, because it all belongs to you, will be measured to you based on your answers. The more you answer, the more you answer. It's not about going and getting the pastor to pray for you. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. But there comes a time in your spiritual growth and spiritual development, maturity starts doing its own answering. That's how come you know you're growing up. You're answering for yourself without relying upon someone else to answer for you. The feelings, the symptoms, the lack that tries to come, the circumstances that try to escalate, you do your own answering. That's victory.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
Victory is you do it yourself, right?
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
And someone can share their faith with you. But if someone prays for you, and like I said, it's perfectly all right to do that, it's scriptural to do that. But as we grow, we rely less on someone else's faith when it comes to our own lives. We're not relying on someone else to hear from God for us or receive, you know, healing for us. We're doing our own. But even if someone else, for example, if you had symptoms in your body, someone else prays for you, lays hands on you, and you receive healing from that, Jesus already told you what's going to happen when the devils run off. He comes back. Jesus told you that. Not to frighten you, but so you can be armed, so you can be ready, so that you're not a victim. You're watching, you know?
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
So don't be afraid of that. Just get the answer in your heart and get it in your mouth. What is the answer? It's the word. What you receive with the faith of someone else is temporary. It's temporary.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
Well, once God does something, it's eternal. Well, Jesus said. Jesus said, do we believe what Jesus Said when the spirit is run out, when the devil is off of a situation, off of a scene, he turns around and tries to come back. See, what God does is for good. But are you answering for good? Or do we falter in our answering? Because our answering will work if we answer. But if we fail to answer, what God intended for us to hold fast to can be lost. How do we hold fast? Because the Word tells us to hold fast. Hold fast to that which thou hast. Why? Because God's letting us know something else is going to try to come back, to try to steal it from you. So how do we hold fast to it? We answer that which opposes us with the Word, and we refuse to change our answer based on what we feel. Refuse. Refuse to change what we believe based on what we feel. We refuse to change. When we're on the Word, we don't need to come off of it, but because the Word is right.
Audience
Amen. Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
So just know this. One way the enemy works is a counter attack. And that's what Jesus was revealing. When a spirit leaves a man, he goes, tries to find rest in a dry place, cannot, comes back. Because he wants to gain entrance and gain control again. Yes. And that's called a counter attack. And it doesn't mean your faith isn't working just because there's a counterattack. Now listen to me. Just because there's a counterattack doesn't mean your faith isn't working. It means that what Jesus exposed about the devil is true. He's a comeback. Why? Because he doesn't have his own. He's got to come get yours. He's a thief, right? So he tries to come back. When he comes back, you should be ready. Ready with the answer. Ready with the answer in your mouth.
Audience
Amen.
Nancy Dufresne
There was a story that one pastor told that a traveling minister came to his church and there were two women in his church that had the exact same kind of cancer in their body. And both of them, by the medical field was given a. You know, they. They said, there's no recovery from this. Medically, the medical field can't help you. So this man of God laid hands on both of them. Both of them were healed, all the symptoms left both of them. Well, about six months later, during a service, one of the women that was healed stood up and she was weeping, and she said, pastor, I want you to pray for me, you and the congregation. Because all those cancer symptoms said, come back on me. And she's weeping. Why is she weeping? Because she's concerned. Right. So the Other woman that was healed in the same service that this first woman was healed was in that service when this woman's asking for prayer. And she said, pastor, can I say something? So the second woman who had received healing stood up and said to the first woman, she said, sister, she said, the same symptoms try to come back on me. But when they did, I told them, no, you don't. No, you don't. She said, I got mean and ugly about it. She said, I didn't just. I didn't start weeping. I didn't start crying. I said, no, you don't. And she meant it. And she meant it. And she said, now it tried to stay for several days. See, even if it seems to not turn about quickly, don't worry about it. Your authority still works. Yes, ma'. Am. Yes, the devil flees, but many times he's talking the whole time he's leaving, right? And so if your mind's not renewed, you think that he's still there when he's on his way out. And so. And so this woman said, he tried to do the same thing to me. And I said, no, you don't. And this first woman didn't get it. She didn't understand it. She didn't understand the countertalk and Answer it about the counterattack and to answer that. And so she said, well, Pastor, you just keep praying for me. Well, she ended up dying. But the second woman didn't. Why? Because she answered it. She answered it. Every day of your life. Answer.
