There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now. I receive it right now from the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the healer. And we invite you. Get your Bible, get something you can take notes on, because we're believing God for answers for your life and anything God speaks to you, we encourage you. Write it down. You know, so much of the time when something is. Stands up in our hearts, God speaks to us. He unveils something to us. We think it is so clear and big in us at that moment. We think, well, I won't forget that. And then a week later you go, I don't really remember what that was. So we don't want to let it get away from us. So we invite you, write down what God may say and be listening in the sense that sometimes God will speak something to you that didn't even come out of my mouth. But just being in the atmosphere of the Word, that's the atmosphere of hearing. So we're expecting for you to be able to hear answers for your life. And so we thank you for joining us. And we are sure delighted to bring these teachings to you that we've been on in this series. We're teaching on in Christ. I can. And so we. This is such a loaded subject. And you know, it matters that we meditate on the truths of who we are in Christ because we have to establish this in us. Because you can't spend what isn't resident in you. And we have to take time to. If I could say this, put this into the foundation of our spiritual life. I want to read to you out of Colossians chapter two, and let's read it out of the living Bible translation. Colossians. Colossians 2, verse 6 is where I want to start with Colossians 2, verse 6. And actually, I don't. I don't want to go the living Bible. Let's do the Amplified Classic bible of Colossians 2, verse 6. Because as Paul was writing, he's referring to these truths about in Christ. And listen to what how the Amplified Classic translation reads. It says, as you have therefore received Christ, well that's you, that's me, if you're born again. We have received Christ, it says, even Jesus the Lord, it says, so walk, regulate your lives and conduct yourselves in union and conformity to Him. Now look at verse seven. It says, have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him, Fixed and founded in him, being continually built up in Him. Now look at that. This phrase is telling us how important it is that our roots are are firmly planted in the truths of him, who he is in us, who we are in him, what he will do for us, what he will do through us. We have to be firmly planted in this. And then it says, look, fixed and founded in Him. But look at the next phrase. Being continually built up in Him. So what's this mean? There's never a time we come to the end of needing to feed our spirits on the truths of in Him. It's a continual building. And the thing about with God, as we feed on the Word, there's no ceiling to how to how far we can go in light of the Word in Revelation. The Word tells us that it's In Hebrews chapter 4, in verse 12 it says that this is a living word, a life giving word, that the Word of God is quick, it's alive, it's sharper than any two edged sword. What's that mean? Because it's a living word. There's never an end to revelation in the Word. You read a certain scripture and you think you have all the revelation on it. But as you grow in your spiritual development and in your spiritual maturity, you'll find out. My goodness, I see something different in that verse. Well, what was it based on? Our maturity we see more. And something you read last year of the Word, you received a measure of revelation. But as you mature, you see further revelation. But not only that, it's a living word meaning this. There's always revelation flowing from it. You're never going to reach the end of revelation. So when it says being continually built up in him, that means we never reach the end of all the revelation that belongs to us about in Christ and who he is in us. So notice this. It is up to us to have the roots of our being firmly and deeply planted in Him. That's not up to him, it's up to us as we feed on the Word, meditate on it, then he brings his part of unveiling the Word, and that is by the Holy Ghost. Do you know that your mind cannot grasp all that it means to be in Christ? This is something that your Spirit has. It has to dawn on your Spirit, because there it's so large that the mind, the reasonings of man, can't easily grasp this. These things are spiritually discerned, is what the Word says. So we can grab something with our spirit that our mind can't calculate. So you can say, I don't know what it means to be in him up here. But on the inside you go, you know what, in him, he's in me. I. I'm in Him. And you settle it. You agree with it, and as you do, you accept that into your Spirit. Then it begins to unfold to you. But don't try to handle it all mentally or receive it mentally. It has to be received with the heart. And that's when it says, have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in him, fixed and founded in him, being continually built up in Him. Do you see? The theme is in him, in him, in Him. Why is that? Because if we will gain light of who we are in him, we come into the highest order of faith. And it also eliminates struggle in our life. If we try to do something. Well, let me say this, let me say it this way. If God commands something of us and we start struggling with that, it's because we think we're the ones who have to do it. But when you're in him, you go immediately to, he's going to do that through Me. He's going to fulfill that in Me. He's going to bring it to pass through my obedience. So when we're struggling, it's because we think we have to accomplish it. But when we are firmly and deeply planted in him, that means we go first in him, that if God commands something of us, we say, in Him, I can do that. So when you're deeply and firmly planted in that, you quit going to you, you quit going to the reasoning of man. You quit going to the natural side to draw your success from. But you go to him who's in you. So this is why it's up to us to feed on this and to have it deeply planted in us. Because the more established these truths are in us, the quicker we go to Him. And instead of going to our flesh, going to the soulish arena, we go to Him. And that's where success Is that's where success lives. I want you to know God has never failed at anything he's ever done. So when we are partakers of his nature, his life, Christ in us, what that means is we just now are partakers of his divine success. And our lives reflect and carry the success that flows from him into us. If you can look at your life and you can say, I can see points that my life hasn't been successful, then we're invited to draw on him in those arenas. Because when we're drawing on him, we come into success. When we're just drawing on our flesh or drawing on the mind of man, that's when we falter. That's when things don't work right. And so he's never been involved in something that failed. So if failed, it wasn't his doing, it was us. Not following accurately now, I'll say this. Sometimes we can hear God say something to us. And if we mix in our own human reasoning with what he says, then it's no longer what he says if we add something to it or we take away something from it. You remember that in the Old Covenant, when God delivered his people out of Egypt, one of the things he did to Moses is He gave him the instructions of how to build the tabernacle. As they traveled, there was a place where the it was, so to speak, the Ark of the Covenant was kept. And it was the holy of Holies, so to speak, that traveled with them. And God told Moses exactly how to build that. He even went so far as to tell him who was to be the workman on some of those features of building that. But notice what God said on many occasions. He said, see to it that you build it exactly as it was told you. Meaning this. Don't just take part of what God says and then you add part of what you figured out to it, the success. Because that holy of Holies, it had to be built exactly as God said. Well, I want you to know, you're the temple of the Holy Ghost now. And he abides in us, and he will give us exact directions. And know this, if God says something to us, we're not qualified or we're not, we're not authorized to adjust what he says to suit our thinking, to suit our own human reasoning. So when God speaks to us, it's because he knows exactly what, where, what steps to take, what choices to make to arrive at success. If we adjust that, any adding to it, subtracting from it because of our own reasonings, then it won't succeed as it ought. And then people will say, well, I thought I heard God say this, but when I did it, it didn't pan out that way. It didn't end up as being a success. Well, just because we heard God speak to us doesn't mean we followed it fully. So that's really part of learning obedience. It's not partial obedience, it's full obedience. And in full obedience is success. And so that's what God warned Moses about, that the. The instruction was to be followed completely. And that's part of us growing up, maturing, recognizing God does not need us adjusting what he says to us. And so we have to follow what His Word says precisely without getting our soulish counsel involved in that. What God needs from us is our agreement and our obedience. He does not need our calculations and our reasonings. And this is something we have to. We have to let go of when we're dealing with God. Amen. And so here again in Colossians 2, verse 6, the let's go to verse 7, the amplified classic have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him. Now notice this. We have had our roots deeply planted in our own thinking. In the past, before we were born again, we were deeply rooted in how we thought something should happen. Now, see, we've got to adjust that. We've got to draw not on us, but on him who is in us. And so that takes a rewiring, so to speak. And that takes a renewing of the mind. We have to come in line with his thinking instead of getting God to come in line with our thinking. And so this is a process, and you don't arrive at it overnight. But what a glorious and joyous work it is to feed on who we are in Christ and go through that process. Remember what the Word says. It says, feed. First the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear. What's God talking about? Spiritual things are a process, and you don't get there overnight. But if we will give our full attention to it, then we can progress quickly. You know, one of the things I saw my parents do all the time is lots of renovation. We had a. When I was about 12 years old, they bought a historical home. And it was a lovely home, but it needed a lot of renovation. And my mother was good at it, my dad was good at it. So I grew up watching them do this. And this is one of the things about my mother, is that when she started a project, everything else was put to the side until that project was done. She did not draw that project out over time. And I want you to know that if we will give an all out effort toward the word, giving our attention toward the word, we can establish some things in us quickly so that we can progress, so that we can mature. But if we only do a little bit every once in a while, we are slowing our spiritual advancement and spiritual progress. I use an example like this. I've done this a lot. Maybe some of you who are watching have done this where you're painting a room and you can use a little brush or you can use a roller that can cover a lot of lot of space quickly. Or if you were to say, well, I only have a few minutes to paint and you go in and you just take a small brush and you paint a little area, well, you're getting it done. But my, my, my, if you're only doing a few strokes a day, it's going to be a long time before you get to enjoy that room. Finished. Well, you get my son in on there and he's quite good at it. And it's amazing that he can paint a very sizable room in about 15 minutes. He does the cut in work real quick and then he just takes that rotor and he goes. But he have other things going on, he is focusing on that. And if we will give an all out effort to establishing in us who we are in Christ, we will enjoy the benefits of that place quickly. But if we just take our time and we're, if I could say this, distracted by that which is unimportant sometimes, it'll be a long time before we really enjoy who we are in Christ, when we can enjoy it quicker if we'll give an all out effort toward it. Amen. So that's when Paul is writing here and he says, have the of your being firmly and deeply planted in him, fixed and founded in him, being continually built up in him. That's our work to do it. Now as we take on that work, of course the Holy Spirit will unveil and help us in this work, but it's up to us to do it. And when we know who we are in Christ, life gets easier. If life is a difficulty, it's because we need to further renew our minds and agree with God. You know, I was conducting an interview with someone years ago. They were interviewing me rather, and they asked a question and they said, nancy, what was the darkest day of your life? And I said, well, the greatest tragedy of my life was in a day when my husband went home unexpectedly. But I said, that wasn't the hardest day of my life. I said, my hardest days were when I didn't know the word, when I didn't know who I was in Christ, when my mind was not renewed. And therefore any attack would take me off guard, any attack would advance against me instead of me getting on top of that. But as I've grown and matured and gained skill, and that process still is going on, but at least I've reached a place of understanding and skill, of some of the foundational truths that are part of our Christian life, then my life got easier and easier and easier. I remember growing up, I was doing some algebra work one day, some homework at home, and I said to my mother, I said, this is hard. And she said, that's not hard. The problem is you don't understand it. And you not understanding made it hard. But that work is not hard. So basically, I was taking a I'm quitting on this mentality because it's hard. So many people that they will come up to something they don't understand and they'll pull back from it instead of gain skill and move from it being hard to being easy. Because when you know who you are in Christ, when you start taking your place in Christ and start discovering what belongs to you in Christ, then what happens is that which you used to struggle with becomes an easy flow for you. And so what's hard is not renewing the mind. What's hard is not planting these truths in us. What's hard is not establishing these things in us and not meditating on these things, because that arrives us at a place where we just keep struggling. But if I. If I could say this, those who meditate on the Word, building it in them, they become. Their spiritual advancement happens quickly. So we can speed up our spiritual advancement by how much time we're giving to establishing the truths of God's Word in us. Now, let's go. Let's look at Joshua 1:8 in the King James translation. Joshua 1:8. You need to get this scripture in you because it is key. It's foundational in the life of the believer. And it says this. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt look at this, meditate in it day and night. What's that mean? You say, well, Pastor Nancy, I got to work a job. You know, I've got to take care of my family. I've got things to do day and night, so how can I do this day and night? He's not talking about you sitting down and reading the Bible day and night, not taking care of your natural responsibilities. What he's talking about is you can take one truth that the Spirit of God is dealing with you about, and you can let that roll around on the inside of you. You can think deeply into it when you're driving and you're going to work or you're traveling, maybe you're on a bus or maybe you're on a train system, you can let your thoughts go to that verse and you can let that roll around in your thought life. And you can cause that to not just sit in the mental arena, but accept that in your heart and say, father, I receive that truth into my heart. For example, let's take Philippians 4:19. My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Well, you can read that, but it's not leaving it on the page that's going to help you. You have to take what's on the page and put it in you. You have to sow that not just into your mind, but into your spirit. The Word is food for your spirit, the Word is food for your faith. But the Word also nourishes the soul of man, the mind of man. But you can't just process it through the mind of man. You have to let it sink down and go into your spirit and become part of your spiritual foundation. So if you're, if you're meditating as Joshua 1:8, meditate in the Word day and night. That means take a verse or a dealing of God with you out of His Word, and just let that one truth just keep turning around, turning over and over on the inside of you. And you think deeply into it when you can have a have a moment. What's this do? This is going to rewrite your thought life. This is going to take you from thinking about what's coming against you and the circumstances of your day, and you're going to, on purpose, pick up something of what God's dealing with you about that day. And you're going to start meditating on that. And so it rewrites really what you're doing in your thought life. I'm not talking about if you're at your place of employment and you don't do your work because you're sitting there meditating on the Word. I'm not talking about that. I am talking about something can roll around on the inside of you even when your hands are busy with something else. If you will let that roll around on the inside of you. And speak it to yourself. You can't speak whole chapters to yourself at once. But you can take one truth that God is impressing upon you, one thing that God is dealing with you about, and you meditate on that. And you get it in you. You get a handle on that to where you're acquainted with what God's trying to say to you. Because until you take ownership of it, you can't spend it as you ought. You have to make it yours and meditation makes it yours. Meditate on who you are in Christ. Meditate on in Christ. This belongs to me. Meditate that this means I will never struggle again with this. Because Christ has already made it mine. Now I'm not trying to get it. Christ already made it mine. Healing, prosperity, peace, joy, success, victory. All these things belong to me because I belong to Christ. Now you start building that in you. And what that does, that moves you down into your spirit and out of your reasonings. Because you're not trying to achieve that through your mind, but you're accepting that in your spirit that that's who you already are. This is called meditation. This is called when you take something and you just hear it over and over and you roll it around on the inside of you. You know, I remember there was a time years ago, my goodness, 40 years ago or so, and I was dealing with something physically. And I got hold of a sermon by dad Hagin. Kenneth Hagin was a spiritual father to my husband and I for decades. And there was this one particular sermon that he preached. And I would listen to that thing over. I want to say I listened to that thing at least 50 to 60 times in a matter of a few days, I just kept that thing going. When I was getting dressed in the morning, when I was riding to work in my car, when I was out running errands, when I was in the office, I'd have it going in the background. I kept that thing going. And at the end of three weeks, I recognized, wait a minute, all those symptoms are gone. And I didn't know when they left, what was it. I was meditating on the truths that he was preaching in that sermon. And I wasn't trying to hear many sermons. I was taking one sermon that seemed to speak to me in a particular way. And I just kept. Kept that on repeat, just going over and over and over. Why? Because faith comes by hearing and hearing. What's that speak of repetition? That you don't receive full faith by one hearing? It's by repeatedly hearing something over and over and over again. That something is established in you, something is planted in you. Your roots grow down deep into that. So sometimes if we're not careful, we have a spiritual to do list. And it looks like this. Read through this amount of chapters a day and that's not wrong. But you can't meditate on all that you're reading in multiple chapters in a day. It's fine to read through the word, we need to feed on the Word, but always have something that you're meditating on and that that can be directed and should be directed by the Holy Ghost. I have found this out every day of my life. God is dealing with me about something. Not in a negative light, but sometimes in a positive light, sometimes. Now don't misunderstand me. He wants me to correct something and he'll start dealing with me about that. But sometimes he's trying to plant something in me, sometime he's trying to advance me in something. So I always look to the Holy Ghost, what's he talking to me about? What's he dealing with me about? So I don't just pick something to meditate on. I'm led in what I meditate on. And all throughout the day, I just let that truth and I hold that before me and I keep it in the front of my thought life. And when I have a few moments, I go back to that. What am I meditating on today? And I will tell you this. The people who make the greatest spiritual advancement are those who meditate the Word, not just those who read it. Yes, reading it is right. But then meditate on it. Get it in you. Because until it's in you as part of your foundation, you can't spend it fully as you ought. So we're finding out who we are in Christ and we're building that in us. Amen. Well, we're going to keep going this direction in upcoming episodes and you don't want to miss next time. And until then, remember this. Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.

Episode 866 | In Christ I Can, Part 106
Date: October 27, 2025
In this episode, Nancy Dufresne continues her teaching series "In Christ I Can," unpacking how believers can deeply root and establish themselves in their identity in Christ. With a focus on meditating on God's Word and renewing the mind, Nancy emphasizes that spiritual progress—moving from struggle to success—is directly tied to how much we internalize and act upon the truths of who we are in Christ. The episode provides practical guidance on radical obedience, spiritual maturity, and the life-changing effects of ongoing meditation on scripture.
Nancy Dufresne’s style is warm, instructive, and practical. She shares personal stories and emphasizes obedience, faith, and spiritual diligence—always encouraging listeners to press deeper into their relationship and understanding in Christ.
Nancy Dufresne calls listeners to a more intentional, meditative engagement with God’s Word, promising that as we root our identity in Christ and are led by the Holy Spirit, what once seemed hard becomes easy. This episode is rich in practical wisdom for accelerating spiritual growth and living out the “in Christ” reality with confidence and obedience.
