There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the Healer. And we are delighted to be bringing these episodes to you because we have been on a series called In Christ I Can. And we're really talking about our authority that belongs to us in Christ in the place that we have been raised to. Ephesians, chapter one. In verse 20, it says this. It says, and Jesus. And God raised Jesus from the dead and set him look at his own right hand in heavenly places. Do you think that heaven is struggling with any devils? Absolutely not. Do you think that heaven is struggling with any of its enemies? Absolutely not. Was raised and seated right next to his Father. If it can't reach the Father, it can't reach Jesus. And you are seated with him. And it is not to be part of our lives. Does that mean that opposition won't come against us? No, it means that opposition is not to find its landing pad in our life. It's not to take root in our life. Opposition is going to come, but we're going to send it on its way. And so in verse 21 of Ephesians chapter 1, it says that Jesus was raised and seated far above all principality, power, might and dominion. He's talking there about demon powers and those that oppose the kingdom of God. But notice it wasn't Jesus wasn't raised barely above, but far above. And know this, down in Ephesians chapter two, it talks about. And then we were raised and seated together with him. Well, what's that mean then? We're seated far above all principality, power, might and dominion. And we have to renew ourselves, renew our minds to these truths so that we enjoy what these truths mean to us. What's that mean? We are not afraid of demon powers. They are afraid of us. We're far above them. They are not far above Us. And so we have to realize that it's up to us to renew our minds to these things. Because most people are trying to get hold of a victory. They're trying to get on the other side of opposition, when really the real victory is renewing your mind to who you are in Christ and becoming skillful with the victory that Jesus already made yours. We are not trying to get victory, but we must grow in our skill with our victory. And so we've been talking about that. We are not fighting the devil. We are only called to fight one fight, and that is the good fight of faith. Don't get in the wrong fight. You are no match for the devil, apart from Christ. That's why Jesus had to come and he won the victory in our stead, then handed us the victory. We are not fighting the devil. We are occupying the victory that Jesus won for us. And that means when opposition comes against us, we say, no, you don't, because you're not stealing our victory from us. What is our victory? Health. It's prosperity. It's peace. It's joy. It's the plan of God. It's who we are in Christ. And we're not letting the devil dupe us and draw us away from what Jesus already made ours. And we're not trying to win it for ourselves. He won it for us. And all we're doing is enjoying our victory and we're enforcing the devil's defeat that when he shows up, he's not going to deceive us into thinking we've got to fight him again and win something over him, or we've got to get past him. No, I don't. I don't have to hold out against him. He has to hold out against us. Amen. And so we have to see ourselves in the position that Jesus made us. And that is Jesus made us Satan's master. We are not subject to him. We have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness, translated into the kingdom of his dear Son. And darkness has no business trying to set up its residency with us. And I am not the host of hell. I am not hosting anything that came out of hell's realm. We are hosting. We are. We are the dwelling place, the temple of the Holy Ghost. And so we are not permitting things that are not of the household of faith into our lives. We are of the household of faith. And we have no business with something in our life that didn't come from that household of faith. And we're taking inventory because we're running out. Anything we've let in. Amen. The Word says this, that Paul in Ephesians 4, verse 27, I believe he made this statement. He said, neither give place to the devil. Now notice this. It says, neither give place to the devil. The devil has to be given a place. He cannot take a place unless we give him a place. Well, what gives him a place? Well, just not knowing the word and believing something against the word gives the devil a place. What's that wrong? Thinking, having an unrenewed mind gives the devil a place. Not exercising our authority gives the devil a place. Or stepping outside of love gives the devil a place. So all these things that open the door to the devil. Well, you say, Pastor Nancy, I can look in my life and I can see where I've opened the door to the devil and given him a place. Well, you know, good news, because if you gave him that place, you can take back that place you gave him. Because what you gave him, he doesn't have to continually have. You can take it back because it's still yours, no matter who's holding it. It is still your authority. It is still your victory. So don't just settle back and say, well, it's been this way for a long time. That can change today. You do not have to let things remain the same. But you have to know this. We have to renew our minds to the truth and that we are not afraid of demons. They are afraid of us because Jesus defeated them. And know this. Demons remember their defeat at the hands of Jesus. They remember when the power of God came and raised Jesus from the dead. And every prince, every principality, power, might and dominion opposed his raising. And they were not enough to. To hinder him and. And keep him from being raised. Because there was a far greater power working than their power. And I want you to know that's the power that is on the inside of you, and that's the power that's backing up your authority. The name of Jesus belongs to you. And when opposition shows up, you answer it and you say, you're not staying in my life. And I don't care how many times you didn't use your authority, you can start using it today because it still belongs to you. You know, sometimes you can look where parents are not walking in their parental authority over their children, and children misbehave and children try to run the house, and children take advantage of the parents. They dishonor the parents or they mistreat the parent. And the parent may have let that go on for a very long time. But if One day the parent recognizes, wait a minute, that's my parental authority. And you take it back and you start exercising that parental authority. It'll still work for you. And I encourage you, if you've been laying down your parental authority, pick it back up because it doesn't fit your kids, it fits you. And so you're authorized to keep things in place in your household, including your children. Now, they may kick against you a little bit because they've been used to running things, but that doesn't mean that the authority still doesn't belong to you. It still belongs to you. And when you've let the devil in some areas of your life and you go to exercise your authority and take back that place, you. He may kick them back a little bit, but you, you just keep using your authority and everything will come back into place as it ought when you use your authority in Christ. Amen. And I could say this. Don't feel bad. Don't let yourself be put down by what you have permitted. Just say, today it changes. And it is changing to line up with. With what God has said is mine. And I'm going to walk in the light of what God has made mine. Amen. I want us to see something here. Let's look at James chapter four and verse seven, the King James. The King James translation says this. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Now look at that. This is where many people start. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. But you know, that verse doesn't start there. The verse really starts with, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Then resist the devil and he will flee from you. What's it mean? It means we have to. We have to agree with the Word of God. We have to. We have to bring our will in line with the Word of God. We have to bring our thinking in line with the Word of God. We have to submit to Him. When we submit to him, we obey him. When we submit to him, we agree with Him. To be submissive means I'm willing to be led. And I want you to know this word submission has been misused in certain. In certain realms, maybe. But with it, in terms with God, submission is a. It's a word of safety. It's a flow of safety. Because when we're submissive to God, then we're enabling and we're letting him work in our behalf. If we're not submissive to God, then He wants to work for us and can't because we're not permitting him to. So I want to be willing to be led. That means I'm going to submit to God. And when he directs me to do something, commands me to do something, I'm going to submit to that. Because when I submit to his authority, then the devil submits to my authority. If I'm in rebellion to God and not doing what he says in his Word, then I am in no position to stop the Devil's rebellion against me. So for our authority to work as it should, we have to submit to God. We have to comply. We have to come into agreement with his Word and with his plan for our life. Because there are people who say, well, Pastor Nancy, I told the Devil to leave and I resisted him in this arena, and it didn't work. Well, if you're resisting and it's not playing out as the Word says, because the Word's always right and the Word works, if it's not playing out as the Word says, go back. Are we submitted to God as we ought to be? You know, I so appreciate something I had. Dad Hagin was our spiritual father for my husband and I for decades. And I was talking to someone close to him one day, and I said, can you tell me one of the things that you would say is one of the most important things that dad Hagin taught you? And they said, yes. They said, dad Hagin said that every year he would make a point to take out everything of his life, of his ministry that he was doing and lay it out before God. He would lay out every arm of ministry he would bring that before God. He would lay out things of his personal life and say, God, I know you commanded me to do this. Has anything of this changed? Am I doing it the way you told me to do it? Have I veered from it? Have I added something to it? Or have I taken away from it? Or are you wanting me to emphasize something differently now? What would he do? He would lay out every facet of his life before God. Why? To check for accuracy of obedience. Because when we're obedient, then when we're faced with opposition, our authority works as it ought. But if we're missing God, if we're disobeying in some arena, then that's going to hinder our effectiveness in our ability to get results when we resist the devil. Because know this, it doesn't just say in James 4. 7, resist the devil and he will flee first. It says, submit yourselves therefore to God, then resist the devil and he will flee. That means we have to be in obedience to God. We can't be in Rebellion to God and then think that our authority is going to work in the devil who's in rebellion to us. I appreciate what I heard one minister say. They're a precious, precious minister. And they said one day they realized they had a teenager and one of their teenagers was really kicking against them and resisting them and not being compliant. And they said, you know, that was so unlike them because they had always been very compliant to us as their parents. And so they took it to God and they said, God, this isn't really a true demonstration of them. I've not ever had this difficulty with them. And said, why is it? And God spoke and said, well, your husband has asked you to do things and you've resisted against that. And he said, so because you resisted there, you're having a harvest of resisting out of your teenager. Ah, so what's that mean? They were going to have to come into submitting to the word of God and get into agreement and get out of strife with their spouse. I was listening to one minister on occasion and they were talking about a certain man who was their spiritual father. This minister had been in the ministry for years and their spiritual father is someone that had spoken into their life for decades. But one day they developed an offense against their spiritual father and they pulled away from them. Not because God was leading them away, but because they became offended. And this minister had a far reaching ministry, but his grown son who was married. So there was the spiritual father, there was the minister, and then there was the son of the minister. And this minister said that his son began to rebel against him, left the ministry, didn't want to have anything to do with the ministry, walked away from the plan of God. And then when he was praying about it, he said, God, why is that? He said, you son left his father because you left your spiritual father. What was that? You've broken something that God put in place. God put someone in place over his life. Not to rule his life, not to run his life, but someone to serve, speak into his life, someone. Because listen, you can get into a lot of error by saying, well, someone's over me. And then they take advantage and start running your life. No, someone who's a spiritual father, they just speak into your life. They bring the word to you. They don't make your decisions for you. They aren't dictating how you live and decisions you make and what you do. No, you're responsible for that with, with hearing from God and following the Holy Ghost. But God does give us people that will help us to know him better. And so when we rebel against those people, what happened, because they sowed rebellion against their spiritual father, then their own son sowed rebellion against them. Now, this is what we have talked about in James 4, 7. Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Then you resist the devil and he'll flee from you. But if we have things out of order and then we go to resist the devil, we're not going to experience order because we're the ones out of order. And then our authority doesn't work for us as we ought. So what, what am I trying to say? Is there something in your life that is not out of. That is out of order? Talk to God about it. He'll show you. And if. And because you need your authority to work every single day, you need your authority to work regarding your finances, regarding your health, regarding your. So we don't want to be out of sync with God. We don't want to be not submitting, not obeying God, and then say, why isn't it working? When I'm telling the devil to leave. Because we, for our authority to work as it ought, we have to submit to God. And so it's not an authority issue, it's a submission issue. Some people think, well, I have issues with my faith because the devil's not fleeing when I tell them to flee. Well, it might not be a faith issue. Is it a submission issue? Are you submitted to God as you ought to be? Because when our spiritual life is in order, then everything gets the right result. Our faith works as it ought, our body works as it ought, our finances work as they ought. Amen. So our authority works for us when we're living in obedience to God. We can't be in violation of God's word and in violation of what God's commanded us to do and think that our authority will work right. It will not. And this verse warns us that there is a. There is a perfect order, that we are to have submitted to God, and then the devil must flee when we resist him. The bleach translation says and reads about James, chapter four, verse seven. It says, so be submissive to God, but stand up against the devil and he will run from you. So know this submitting to God is not going to get rid of the devil. We have to stand up and resist. So first we submit. And then don't live out, leave out resisting and think the devil's going to leave you alone. Automatically he has to be resisted. How do we resist him? With words and with the actions that we take. The NEB translation of James 4. 7 says this. Stand up to the devil and he will turn and run. Look at that. He will turn and he will run. Why would something of an evil presence, an evil spirit, why would he turn and run from you? Ah, he's afraid of you. When you are submitted to God, you are a force to be feared by the kingdom of darkness. You are one that they tremble from and they run from The. This is a different translation. I don't know the full title for this, but it's listed as T4T. And this translation says so. Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil. Look at this. Refuse to do what the devil wants, and as a result, he will run away from you. Listen, you're the custodian of your life. Just because the devil wants you to do something doesn't mean you have to do it. And I want you to know that works for the saved and the unsaved. So again it reads, submit yourselves to God, Resist the devil. Refuse to do what the devil wants, and as a result, he will run away from you. Now know this. If we don't refuse to do what he wants, he won't run away. He will stay and trouble our lives. What's this mean? You can't play with wrongdoing. Many times people do not cut off wrongdoing as they ought, and then they're troubled by it because they're not resisting or refusing to do what the devil wants. You know, if somebody is engaging in something, let's say they're in communication with somebody, that they know that God's been dealing with them. About to not be in communication with. Well, I'm just texting them, see how they're doing. No, you're playing. You're playing and you know you're playing. And then people will say, well, you know, I'm walking in love. No, you're in obedience. You're in disobedience because God told you not to do it and you're not to do it. And you can't say, well, I'm walking in love, and use that as a guise for disobeying God, because God won't back that up. And the devil knows you're in rebellion and then he will not flee from you and he'll use that situation to trouble your life. And what if there's a lifestyle or a habit that you need to change in your life? You can change that and you have the power of God to help you change it. But what if you just keep a little bit of that around just because you like just a little bit then. Because if people do that, they're not refusing to do what the devil says. And he won't flee. He will stay, and he will continue to entice them and draw them back into a place of bondage. When you know something is wrong, you have to choose to hate it. You can't choose to entertain it, choose to play with it. When different people have come to me over the years and they say, pastor Nancy, I'm dealing with this lifestyle issue or that lifestyle issue, I said, first of all, you have to call it wrong. I don't care if the government calls it right. I don't care if society calls it right. It's what God's word calls it. And I said, you have to choose to call wrong what God calls wrong. And then you have to choose to hate anything that's in violation of God because you love God too much to entertain something that's in violation of him. The Word says this in the book of Hebrews, and it said that Jesus was anointed with the oil of gladness above his brethren. Why? Because he hated iniquity and he loved righteousness. He loved what was right and he hated what was wrong. He didn't get as close to the line of what is wrong and say, well, I'm not involved. No, get away from that line. I want you to know there are people who will play and they'll stay on the line. They haven't fully walked into sin, but they're. They're close to it. They're touching it. They're living on the line. And I want you to know you don't ever want to live on the line of the edge of ruin. Because what if something comes back from behind unexpected and just gives one little shove and you're over the line? You might thought, well, I'm not over the line. Yeah, but something can come from behind and it can entice you. It can, if I could say, push on you and you end up in a place you never intended to because you were too close to wrongdoing. When you love God, you get as far away as you can from wrongdoing. You don't get as close as you can to it. I've heard people say, well, you know, my faith walk and my spiritual walk is so developed that I can get around things, and it doesn't bother me when you're walk. When you're developed spiritually and you love God and you want to live right and holy, you get as far away from wrongdoing as possible. You don't get as close to it to see how close you can get without falling into it. You're playing, and you might say, well, I'm not playing. Well, you are playing. And you have to be honest and sincere if you want to walk in victory over the devil. Because I know this, the devil's not playing. And if you start trying to play, he'll end up winning the game. And there is no sense in him winning against any Christian. But you have to be sincere, and you have to realize if God says it's wrong, I call it wrong. And if God calls it wrong, I hate it. I won't have anything to do with that lifestyle. I won't have anything to do with that habit. I won't have anything to do with that bondage. Why? Because Jesus paid too much to make us free, and he freed us so that nothing would ever again turn us into a slave, that we're not a slave to a bondage, a habit, an addiction, something of the flesh, something of the mind. We are to live completely free. You know, I so appreciate something that dad Hagin even made a statement about years ago. He said that when he was a young minister and he was pastoring, he said during the Christmas season, he would need more money, you know, for the gifts for his family. And so he said, I would take a job just during the Christmas holiday at a men's clothing store, he said, because they were just hiring extra workers during that season. And he said during that season, one year, he says, I was working at the men's clothing store, and right down the street was a soda shop where all the workers on their break would go down and they'd get a soda. And he said, I started every day just drinking sodas. And he's not saying drinking sodas is wrong. Believe me, I'm not preaching against any kind of thing like that, But I'm just saying saying this. He said, I recognize that my body got into a habit and started wanting it. And he said, I got to the point to where he says, I was drinking so many of them a day. And then he said, I recognized that there was a bit of an addiction to it. And he said, he made this statement when he recognized it. He said, as long as I live, I'll never drink another one of those. It wasn't the soda that he was against. He said, I won't be brought under the bondage of anything because Jesus made me free. So what does that mean? I'm not telling you to cut things off. That are normal. I'm saying don't let anything rule and reign over you, whatever it is. Sometimes it's something in your thought life ruling and reigning. Sometimes it's something in your diet. Sometimes it's something maybe in your behavior. Sometimes it's even in a relationship to where you know you shouldn't be in that relationship. Don't let anything rule and reign over you. It cost Jesus everything for you to live free. God wants you to live free and wants you to live in total mastery over anything that would hold you in bondage. And I so appreciate dad Hagin's consecration to live free that he said, I'll never drink another one of those because I realized my body was coming into bondage under that and I won't let my body be into bondage in any under anything but submissiveness to God. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time because we're going to continue this direction. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.

Nancy’s tone throughout is direct, warm, and encouraging—full of practical wisdom, biblical references, and personal stories. She doesn’t shy away from challenging listeners but always points to the grace and hope found in Christ and the ongoing process of walking in victory.
This episode is a deep dive into the reality of the believer’s authority in Christ, the necessity of mind renewal, the spiritual principle of submission before resistance, and the practical steps toward living in freedom from anything that would bind. Nancy Dufresne calls listeners to a higher standard of accountability, obedience, and mastery—encouraging all to reclaim every area where the enemy may have gained ground, and to walk out daily the victory already secured through Jesus.
