Thank you to Kenneth Copeland Ministries for sowing the airtime for this broadcast.

There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now. I receive it right now from the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet.

Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the Heater. Thank you so much for joining us. And we're continuing on in the series that we've been on for a while now. And we invite you, go back and watch any previous episodes you may have missed. And you know, the good thing about really, I'm so enjoying this series because I have had time to just visit and revisit state and restate some truths, and we can hear them over and over again. And know this, this is really part of how we renew our minds, is to hear the Word over and over the same truths. And you know, Joshua 1:8 tells us, it says, this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mout, but thou shalt meditate therein. Look at this. Day and night. What's this mean? It means we make it a lifestyle. We think of the word, we meditate on it, and it says that it was. We meditate on it day and night, so that we may. We may do according to all that's written therein. For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. How do you meditate on the Word? You keep speaking it to yourself. You think deeply into it, but you also confess it. And you just make it part of your. Your way of thinking, meditating on it, driving it down by speaking it over and over. And listen, really. Joshua 1:8 is the law of success. You meditate on the Word. You speak the Word and you do the Word. And so as you take some of these, if I could say a particular episode or even a segment in an episode, and you listen to it over and over, you know, that's one way of meditating on it. Meditating on the Word of God. So I know this. Whenever hear a certain sermon that holds answers for me, maybe something particular I'm facing, something I really gain particular light on. I don't think that I got everything out of it with one hearing. I listened to. I've listened to so many sermons, the same one over and over and over and over. I remember years ago, there was just a nagging symptom in my body, and I began listening to one sermon by dad Hagin. Kenneth Hagin was our spiritual father to my husband and I for decades. And I listened to that sermon, I would say, at least 100 times. And over the next three weeks, I just listened and listened to the exact same sermon. And by the end of that three weeks, every symptom was gone. Why was it. Why was that? I was meditating on that Word, and the Word does the work. And I was, if I could say this, driving that into my spirit. I was renewing my mind with it. And I was holding fast to what I was hearing in that sermon. And listen, what a deal. Three weeks just feeding on that, and then every single symptom gone. The Word did the work. And so take time to feed on these episodes over and over. It's not my teaching, it's the Word. It's the Word getting in. And so we're just so glad that God has had us on this topic for as long as he has. And listen, I'm not in any hurry to get off of it because there's so much connected to it, as I said in the past, that really, the truths of who we are in Christ is our foundation of our redemption, and it will bring us into the highest order of faith. When you realize that in Christ holds every answer for your life, everything you're going to face, every supply you're going to need. Everything that we need for success and victory in this life is found in Christ. And when you realize that no matter what comes your way, even if you don't know naturally the answer for some, for a situation, you're not. You're not troubled by it because you say, in Christ, the answer is made known to me. I'll know exactly what I need to know. I have everything I need to have in Christ. And that puts us in a place of rest. That's why it brings us into the highest order of faith. Because you know that you're filled with the One who has all the supply, all the answers that you're ever going to need. And you can rest in that. And so life doesn't seem to threaten you. It's not daunting to you because you're aware of the greater one that's in you and all that's contained in the greater one that's on the inside of you. And so, as we've said, go back and watch these episodes over and over again. And then we invite you always get something to take notes on because we're expecting God to speak to you and give you answers for your life and follow along with us in the scriptures that we, that we refer to together because we're expecting that God has more to say to you. Amen. I want us to go to, I want us to look at the, at the 60th chapter of Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 60 in verse one. And this is a passage that we should all be acquainted with. Now I'm going to read it first out of the King James translation. And Isaiah 60, verse 1 says this. Arise and shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. Now, when he says this word arise, he's not talking about a physical position. He's talking about come up higher, come up to a further place in the way you think, in the way you operate, in the place you live from. And if we could say this, really, this is talking about fellowshipping with God, that when we arise to living in the presence of God, listen, we've been raised and seated with Christ so positionally we're there, but we need to, we need to draw on that place that we've been raised to every single day. And the way we do that, number one, is our fellowship with God also through feeding on the Word. And so really, when we start flourishing in our fellowship with God, when we acknowledge him all throughout the day, I tell you, it gives us the best life because we realize that everything that comes against us is so much lower than the place we've been raised to. And so we quit being occupied with the low things of this world, and we give our attention and our focus to what we've been raised into and what we've been seated with Christ and what belongs to us because we're in Christ. But here, look at this. Arise, shine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. I want us to read this out of the Amplified Classic translation. So this is Isaiah, chapter 60, verse 1, the amplified classic translation. It says this Arise from the depression and the prostration in which circumstances have kept you. Look at this. Rise to a new life. Well, what's your new life? Well, under the new covenant, we are new creatures in Christ. Our life is now in him who we are in him. And I want you to see something that we're told in this verse is that when depress or circumstances try to show up that push you down, you don't have to get into that place. You don't have to yield to depression. And if you have, you can come out of that depression by realizing who you are in Christ. You arise in your thought life, you arise in your confession, you arise in your fellowship with God, and you start enjoying the highest flow. How many of you know depression is a low flow? It's the. It's the flow of the old man. It's the flow of someone without Christ. But we're in Christ. So these things we need to be masterful at and skillful at not yielding to lower flows, masterful at the higher flow and skillful at staying out of the lower flow. Because the devil is always trying to draw us back to the thoughts of the old man, to the ways of the old man. But we're new creatures in Christ. All things have been made new. And we need to be masterful at staying in that higher flow. And I would say this really part of our victory is recognizing what doesn't belong to us in Christ. Recognize that fear doesn't belong to us. And sometimes fear has found its way into the daily flow of so many people's lives that they just find it as a way of operating. They don't realize that it's fear that's doing their thinking for them, that fear is causing them to make the choices they're making, the decisions they're making. And it can be sometimes so difficult, so colored by fear. But it becomes a way of life for so many that they don't even recognize it is fear anymore. Then what about this? That depression is nothing but the outflow of fear, anxiety, a sense of dread. I don't want to get up in the morning. I don't want to go to work in the morning. All of those things that you dread the new day, all of that is simply an outflow of fear. Well, we're to not allow those low flows in our life. Does the circumstances that try to come. Oh yes, they'll try to come. But we're not to participate in that flow. Why it says here arise from the depression and the prostration in which circumstances have kept you? Listen, Circumstances are not greater than what God has said to us. And we have to always hold fast to what God says. Over the circumstances we see, over the emotions we may feel, over the pressure that may come against the mind we have to realize that we don't have to. We're not subject to those things, that we can set our attention on something higher. Arise in your thought life. Come up to the thoughts of God. What are the thoughts of God? It's the thoughts of the Word. You know, we said it in a previous episode, and that is this. No matter what circumstance shows up in your life, ask yourself first. Train yourself to first think. What does the Word say about this? That's called arising. You're arising to the thoughts of God. You're taking what God says and you're making them your first response, rather than the way you might have responded in the past, or letting your flesh or your emotions take the lead. So it says, arise from the depression and the prostration in which circumstances have kept you. Rise to a new life. And when you do, what's going to happen? Look at this shine. Be radiant with the glory of the Lord, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. I want you to know that we are raised and seated with Christ so that our life will look different than those who don't know Christ. And we need to not be okay with anything less than what the in Christ life looks like now. We can't say, well, I'm in Christ, but I'm in fear. No, no such thing. You can't say, yes, I'm in Christ, but I'm struggling with depression. No, all of those things are outside of Christ. So we have to take a careful watch over what we allow in our thought lives. And can I tell you this? Anytime that people find themselves in a place of depression, they find themselves acknowledging something different than what God is said. We cannot take what God has said and find ourselves in a lower place where we find ourselves in a higher place. And the thing is, is that many people think that simply because a troubling thought comes, that they have to cope with it. No, we're not to cope with it. We're to cast it down. We're to rule and reign over it and forbid it in our lives. Amen. And we have to realize this, that the accuser of the brethren is always trying to get us to not stay in the higher flow of arising, of walking in our place, of fellowship with God, walking in our dominion over circumstances. Paul said this. He said, I can do all things. Look at this through Christ who strengthens me. One translation says, I live independent of circumstances. Think of that, that we are not to be hounded and harassed by circumstances. Having faith and being a child of God does not mean circumstances won't arise. It means they won't have their intended effect and outcome on you whenever you take your place and stay in that place of the fellowship with God, of feeding on the Word, letting the Word govern your thoughts and you paying attention to your response that it's in line with what God says. So know this. Depression is not to be a flow of the one who's in Christ. Anxiety, panic, worry, fear, all of these things are not to be allowed in the life of the believer. Troubling circumstances are not to trouble us because we're to stay in the flow to where we're in fellowship with God. And it matters that we not step down or come down enticed by opposition. And I know this. Certainly devils are at work to try, to distract us, to try to trouble us. Don't give them your attention. They're not worthy of the attention. Know this. There's the enemy that opposes. But there's more for us than that's against us. The Word that's for us, the Holy Ghost that's in us, it all is so much greater than what could come against us. And the devil is always trying to get our attention. But know this. Where. Where your attention goes is what you're going to let into your life. That's why it says over In Proverbs, chapter 4, verse 20, My son, attend to my words. That is a huge instruction to living in God's best. When I read that phrase, attend, attend to my words. I always think of this, putting my attention on his words. He's saying that the devil is after something. He's after your attention. But we are to say, wait a minute, I decide to give the word my attention. I'm going to be occupied with what God says. So it says, my son, attend to my words. And then he tells us how to do that. Incline thine ear to my sayings and not to. Not to let his words depart from our eyes. Keep them in the midst of our heart. Why is this? Because it says, for his words are life unto those that find them in health to all our flesh. So know this, that when our. When our attention is on the right thing, we. We partake of a higher flow. Now, as we've talked about in previous episodes, one of the main things that the devil does is as the accuser of the brethren. He's always trying to accuse us with our faults, our failures. Why he wants to affect how we see ourselves negatively. He's always wanting us to see ourselves as failing God, disappointing God, causing all kinds of problems for our own lives. And so he's always trying to bring us down into a lower flow to weaken our self image where. Well, our image is not by our performance. Our self image is who we are in Christ. And so we cannot, if I could say this, do enough good things so that we can feel good about ourselves. And Paul said, even all the things that he said, my past. Listen, Paul was a highly educated man, highly educated pharisee. But he says I count all the past, all that I've done as refuse. What's this mean? I can't build my success on my education. I can't build it on things pertaining to my society or to my social status, my social standing. But my identity is who I am in Christ. And that is a non fluctuating position. And so as we take our place in our thought life, in our words and our response, to respond as one in Christ, to think of ourselves as in Christ, there's our self worth, there's our value. So we have to make sure that we're putting our attention on who we are in Christ. Putting our attention on what God says about us, rather than what the accuser, the brethren, says. Now listen, when people put their attention on what the accuser of the brethren says, they'll end up depressed, they'll end up disappointed in life, they'll end up feeling like a failure because he's always accusing us with our faults, failures and our weaknesses. And we have to realize we had to be skillful in the face of rejecting that. And just know this, that the devil will assign, if I could say this, low level devils to try to harass your mind. You know, you think about it. What about Moses? When God said God gave him an assignment, Remember, he turned around, he turned aside to see the burning bush. And God spoke to him. He said, I want you to go back to Egypt and I want you to tell Pharaoh to let my people go. Well, it's no wonder that God sent Moses because he was the only free Hebrew in the earth. Every other Hebrew was held in slavery in Egypt. But God gave Moses this gift of freedom as a child, you remember, his mother put him on the water and just to save him from the Pharaoh who gave an edict that all Hebrew babies were to be killed. Well, she got a plan from God. And this, she made a basket. She sent him down the Nile River. And listen, this was no lazy river. This was a river of commerce. This was a river that was completely active. But God directed that baby's basket back into the backyard. Of Pharaoh. And he ended up being raised in the house of Pharaoh. And he was the only free Hebrew in the earth. It's no wonder his freedom was not just for him. His freedom was to go set those who were bound free. So God sent this free Hebrew named Moses back to Egypt and said tell Pharaoh to let my people go. But know all the things that God had given to him so far as with freedom. And he had this very unique upbringing. But notice in that in the place of this assignment when God had was unveiling a purpose for his life, his plan for his life that he was to go and be the instrument that God was going to work through to free God's people. Notice what came up. Feelings of inadequacy. I can't do it. I can't speak. I can't do it. Why would they ever listen to me? What is that? He was listening to a lower flow. The accuser, the brethren. And know this. The devil always tell you why you can't do it, why you can't have it, why you can't receive it. But that is, if I could say this, low level devils that we need to be skillful against and not believe what they say. Why we're to arise. Arise to what? Arise to who we are in Christ. Arise to who he made us to be. As we're told in Isaiah chapter 60. Arise. Come up into the reality, the understanding, the knowledge of who you are in Christ. And quit being subject. And quit being kicked around by the accusations of the enemy. You know the thing is you can feel bad for your and you can feel sorry for yourself. Well there's such pressure against my mind that I failed in this and I failed in that. Well the devil says all that to all of us. But we have to at some point say I'm not, I'm not, I'm not yielding to that anymore. And just because it comes doesn't mean we have to feel bad for ourselves that the devil is opposing us. Listen, he opposes us because God has more for us. He's trying to advance us into more. And God was endeavoring to bring Moses into into the next thing that he had for him. And notice his first response was to go to the inadequacies of his humanity. He was pointing back to why he couldn't. But God was not going to deliver deliver his people through Moses ability. He was going to deliver the Hebrews through his own ability. But he needed a man to work through. And so God had to, if I could say this, school him into arising to the call that God had put on his life. And he gave him his brother Aaron to help be a mouthpiece. And he surrounded him with people that would help him. Who was it? It was Aaron. It was at one time Miriam, his sister, and different ones that came alongside to help. And Joshua. But notice this. The first response Moses had when God was showing and revealing his plan for Moses life was feelings of inadequacy. You know this, that every. That God is going to advance us into more. The devil's going to use that same old strategy. Every man of God who has obeyed God has had to step past feelings of human inadequacy because we're not adequate because of our humanity. We're adequate because of who's in us. And we're drawing on the greater one in us. And this is why it's so important that we renew our minds to who we are in Christ. Because when God gives us a command and when God reveals his plan to us, he does not expect or intend to draw on our humanity, our own ability to do it, but he intends to do it through us. So every time that God would. We see it all through the patriarchs of the past, that every time God would give them their assignment, there would always come this accusations of the enemy that they would give voice to. What about when he was going to anoint Saul to be king? When God's people wanted a king and God told the prophet, go, anoint Saul to be king. And what did Saul do? Immediately he started telling reasons why he couldn't. What is that? He was pointing to his own inadequacies. That comes from the devil, who is always trying to paint you as not enough. No, in ourselves we're never enough. But in him, he's the one that does the work through us. And he is more than enough through us to do everything that he commands of our life. So we have to learn to recognize the strategies of the enemy to constantly try to get us into these feelings of inadequacy. Thoughts of inadequacy. And we resist those. Paul said this in First Corinthians, chapter 16, verse 9. He said, A great and effectual door is opened unto me. But then notice this. He said, but there are many adversaries. There are many. Look at this. Many adversaries. What's that mean? Much opposition. Where are you going to encounter this opposition? At the door. What's the door? It's the place of entering into more. It's the place of advancement. It's the place to going further into what God has For you. Anytime that God is looking to bring you into more of what you're born for, into more of what the plan of God is for your life, into greater revelation, there's always going to come this strategy of the enemy. What is it? Adversaries that are at the door, they're trying to block you, entering into more. Now, how do they primarily work? They point, as I said, to your faults, failures, weaknesses, your own inadequacies. Why is that? They want to diminish your faith. It takes faith to enter in to the more that God is offering us. When he's endeavoring to advance us. We go there by faith. That's why the devil, as the accuser of the brethren, starts pointing out your inadequacies, because he's trying to dismantle your faith. Well, he knows that if you employ your faith, you're getting past him, into the more and into the advancement that God's offering you. And so we have to recognize that every time that the enemy is, if I could say this, launching attacks of inadequacy against us, what's he trying to hide from us? What does he know that's on. On the other side of that opposition, there's an entrance into more. And so every single Christian is going to have to become skillful at recognizing that when the devil is throwing all these accusations of our own inadequacies at us, it's because God is moving to bring us into more. And the devil is trying to dismantle our faith so that we won't have faith to move forward with God. But we are not ignorant of the devil's devices. We are recognizing how he works. And every time he starts pointing to our inadequacies and tries to harass us with us, with those, we say, wait a minute, what's he trying to put a smokescreen in front of? There is more on the other side. And we had to become skillful at arising to who we are in Christ so we don't step back from that door that God is opening to us to come into more and into greater advancement, into greater skill. Amen. Well, we want to keep continuing along this line next time, and we don't want you to miss it. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.

Podcast: Jesus the Healer with Nancy Dufresne
Episode: 904 | In Christ I Can, Part 144
Date: December 18, 2025
Host: Nancy Dufresne (with Grant Dufresne)
Theme: This episode continues the long-running series on the believer’s identity and authority “in Christ," focusing on renewing the mind, the power of the Word, overcoming depression and fear, recognizing the strategies of the enemy, and stepping into the greater things God has called each believer to experience in Christ.
"There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one...power is present. That power is there to do a work...Say, 'I receive that power. I receive it right now.'"
[00:52] Grant Dufresne and [01:55] Nancy Dufresne encourage repeated listening and meditation on biblical teaching as core to spiritual growth:
"We can hear [truths] over and over again. And know this, this is really part of how we renew our minds, is to hear the Word over and over the same truths." (Grant, 00:52)
"The Word did the work. And so take time to feed on these episodes over and over. It's not my teaching, it's the Word." (Nancy, 03:53)
"The truths of who we are in Christ...is our foundation of our redemption, and it will bring us into the highest order of faith." (Nancy, 05:07)
"You arise in your thought life, you arise in your confession, you arise in your fellowship with God, and you start enjoying the highest flow." (Nancy, 11:05)
"Depression is a low flow...It's the flow of the old man, but we're in Christ. So these things we need to be masterful at and skillful at not yielding to lower flows..." (Nancy, 11:50)
"My son, attend to my words...The devil is after something. He's after your attention. But we are to say, wait a minute, I decide to give the Word my attention."
"Our image is not by our performance. Our self-image is who we are in Christ. And that is a non-fluctuating position." (Nancy, 17:49)
"His first response was to go to the inadequacies of his humanity. He was pointing back to why he couldn't. But God was not going to deliver his people through Moses' ability, but through His own ability." (Nancy, 22:32)
"A great and effectual door is opened unto me...but there are many adversaries. Where are you going to encounter this opposition? At the door. What's the door? It's the place of entering into more."
"Every single Christian is going to have to become skillful at recognizing that when the devil is throwing all these accusations of our own inadequacies at us, it's because God is moving to bring us into more." (Nancy, 26:42)
The episode is a passionate call for believers to continually renew their minds to who they are in Christ, to recognize the enemy’s strategies, and to boldly move into every new season God has for them—knowing that all sufficiency, deliverance from fear and depression, and victory over inadequacy is found in Christ. The practice of meditating on the Word, guarding one’s thought life, and responding from faith is crucial to maintaining spiritual advancement.
Memorable closing:
"Remember this: Jesus is the healer. God bless you." (Nancy, 26:55)
