There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

From the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the Healer. And we're going to keep going with our series called In Christ I Can. And in the past series or episodes, we've been looking at John, chapter 17. Let's go back there, but let's start looking at verse eight. This entire chapter is a record of a prayer that Jesus prayed before he was arrested and crucified. And he's talking to his Father and he makes this statement in verse 8. He says, For I have given unto them. Speak. Speaking of the disciples, those he taught, he said, for I have given unto them the words which thou gave us me. Now think of this. When somebody is getting ready to leave the earth and Jesus knows he's getting ready to leave, they will speak to. They will speak. People who are on their exit, so to speak, will talk about what means the most to them. They'll talk about the things that they have acquired that they're going to leave. Family members and they may assign. I'm leaving you this, I'm leaving you that. And before Jesus leaves, he says, father, I'm giving them words. Now think of that. He's giving them something that will get everything they need. He didn't just say, I've given them the anointing, or I've given them power for miracles, or I've given them revelation. He says, I've given them words because words are the carriers of every other thing that we could ever need. So notice this. He said, for I have given unto them the words. What if Jesus had spoken wrong words? He'd have given us the wrong words. But he spoke God's words because he said this. For I have given unto them the words. Which words? The words, Father, that you gave me. These weren't words that he came up with. These are words that he heard from God and he would speak those words. And then he authorized those who were followers of him to use those same words. Now, if we have the same words Jesus had, then we should be getting the same results Jesus got in Christ. We should be bearing the same fruit he bore. And he's letting us know how he was able to produce the fruit that was produced through his life and ministry that was speaking the words that God had given him. Why is that? Because as he spoke what God said to him, then his faith was in agreement with what God said. And the Holy Spir would perform those words. Listen, the Holy Spirit isn't performing just anything. He's performing what God says. The Holy Spirit is only interested in working with one thing, and that's called the Word of God. That when we speak the Word, then the Holy Spirit can go to work and perform those words. So Jesus wasn't just speaking human words. He wasn't just speaking encouraging words. He was speaking divine words, words that came from heaven. He even made this statement. He said, I only say what I hear my Father say. I only do what I see my Father do. When did he hear the words of God? Well, first of all, he had the old covenant that he read on and studied. So he had what God said through the old covenant, but he also had what the Spirit of God said to him in fellowship with his Father. That the we can read the written word, but we can also hear what God will say to us by His Spirit. But either way, Jesus said, the words that I gave the people are the words that my Father gave me. These are divine words in their origin, and they produced divine results. In Christ, what belongs to us is divine words. What belongs to us is divine results. But also in it takes our employing the faith of God so that those words that God has given us can produce fruit. Everything that we receive from God is activated by our faith. The grace of God that we receive, it comes through faith. And so Jesus had to employ his faith. And he did employ his faith and showed us exactly how to do it. Now, if you'll remember this, in Mark 11:12 it talks about how Jesus and his disciples were journeying to Jerusalem. On the way, they came upon a fig tree. Now, Jesus was hungry. There were leaves on that fig tree. And when the leaves are there, the fruit's supposed to also be there. So there were leaves on this tree. So he assumed that there was fruit. But when he walked up to it, there were only leaves without fruit. And so Jesus made the statement. He spoke to the Tree. And he said, no man eat fruit of the hereafter. And so anyway, he. He was speaking words, and the words had an effect on that tree. The words went right to the root of that tree. And what happened is that tree died from the root up. Now, trees die from the top down, but this tree died from the root up. And so notice this, his words went to what wasn't seen. Roots were underground. They could not see the roots dying. But Jesus knew that his words were doing the work. The words of faith. When you speak faith words, then you put them on assignment by speaking what God says, and the words do the work. Now, notice when Jesus, after he spoke to that tree, he didn't just stand there and wait to see if the words worked. It says that they went on their journey. They continued on their way. So what's that mean? Jesus spoke to the words, Spoke to that tree, spoke words to it and words of faith. And then he walked off and left the words of faith to do the work. And as he journeyed on to Jerusalem. And then during that episode, while he was at Jerusalem, when he turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple, the next day, he's traveling back out of Jerusalem with the disciples. They pass that same same tree. And Peter says, look, master, the tree that you cursed, it's withered from the root up. It's withered from the bottom up. And so then Jesus gives them. In Mark 11:22, he gives them the faith lesson. This is how I did it. Have faith in God. Or the. The original Greek says, have the faith of God. So he said it was faith words that dealt with that. So he was telling them how he produced what was produced. It was with faith words. And then he gives that great sermon in Mark 11:23, that what things soever, you. Well, that's verse 24. Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea. Look at this. Whosoever shall say, whosoever shall say not. Whosoever shall pray, asking God to do something. But he was saying, faith is authorized to speak to things. And so whosoever shall say under the mountain. What's this mean? Quit asking God to do something that he's already authorized you to do with your faith. And so many times people face a need and they start praying, asking God to do something. Oh, God, please do this. Oh, God, please do that. And Jesus said, but faith will say something. It won't just pray something. It will say something. So he said, whosoever shall Say this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea. And shalt not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Did you notice in that verse, God's not listed. God is not referred to. Now, what is, what is referred to is the faith of God. And that's the faith that's on the inside of you that Jesus said, I got the results with that tree by speaking words. So notice, Jesus is giving them this great faith demonstration, this great faith teaching. And he's telling them, I got results with that tree by words I spoke. Then he comes over here to John 17:8 and he says, father, for I have given unto them the words. Look at this. The words that you gave me. And I want you to see something. He didn't just leave us power. He didn't just leave us anointing. He didn't just leave us miracles and healings. Those are all in the words. If we will learn to be skillful with our words, if we will believe the words that he has given us, if we'll believe the words that God has spoken to us, we'll have the results of anointing. We'll have the results of healings and miracles and power. We'll have everything we need. Because everything we need comes out words. So Jesus said, for in John, chapter 17, verse 8, again, for I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me. Look at this. It didn't say that they earned the words I gave them. Yes, we should study the Word to find out how it works. But know this. As we look to the Word and we study to be students of the Word, what is given to us is understanding of how these words work. So he said, I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me. Now I'm going to ask this. What are we doing with the words? What are we doing with them? Because the words that Jesus gave produced fruit, are our words producing fruit. When Jesus spoke what God said, the world was changed. Everywhere he went, change happened. Change happened because of the words he spoke. What is happening around our lives? Well, it's a picture of the words we're speaking. The life we're living is a result of words. If we don't like what we have in our life that came about because of words, we have to change the words. If we'll change the words to bring them into agreement with what God says, then we'll have the life that God intended for us to have. But notice we can't have and enjoy what's ours in Christ apart from words. We have to speak what God has made ours in Christ. So as we speak these words, we get more fruit of what belongs to us in Christ. Now again look at John 17:8. Jesus said, For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me. We have to trust this, that words are enough for every situation we face. Too many times people are walking by what they feel. They're walking by what they see instead of walking by words. Faith is about believing words. Faith is not about believing what's seen. Faith is not about believing what's felt. Faith only deals with one thing, words. You understand that? Faith is only dealing with one thing, words. God's words. Now, the devil is an imitator of God. What is that? What do I mean by that? The devil can't. He's not. There's nothing creative in him. All he can do is try to replicate, imitate a way that God works. And so God speaks words and faith comes. The devil speaks words and fear comes. Why? Because words that came from the devil produce what he carries. I want you to know this. The devil is a tormented being. He is a fearful being. He is a tormented being. And when he speaks words, those words carry fear. Those words carry torment. But can I tell you this? It's his fear. It's his torment. It's not yours. So the devil will speak words to try to impart into you the same fear that he, that he lives with, the same fear that is part of his existence. Just because you can feel fear doesn't mean it's yours. Just because the atmosphere may be seemingly charged with fear, that fear isn't yours. That fear came through the words that the devil has spoken, spoken and suggested to our minds. That's not yours. The Bible says Paul was writing to Timothy and he said, God's not given us the spirit of fear, but a power, love and a sound mind. So what's he mean by that? That when God speaks, fear is never transmitted into you. Fear is never imparted into you because there's no fear in what God imparts and what God gives. Anytime there's fear that comes from the devil. And fear is nothing but believing what the devil says. Now get, get that. Fear means we're believing what the devil says. Faith means we're believing what God says. So notice you can be believing but believing the wrong one. You can be believing that the wrong thing's going to happen. And that is faith. Fear, faith that the fearful One is going to get his way. And we're to have faith in God. Remember what it says. Mark 11:22. Jesus speaking to the disciples said, have the faith of God. Meaning there's a different faith out there and there's the faith of the devil. And what is that? That is, that is a fear producing flow. So don't have the devil's faith, which is, which is a flow of fear. Have God's faith, which is a flow of God's blessings. So having we, we through our words, we're either permitting fear to flow or we're permitting faith to flow. But it's all by words. And so Jesus said, have the faith of God. Now going back to John 17, verse 8. For I have given unto them the words which thou gave us. Me. Look at this next phrase. And they have received them. Now look, what Jesus gives has to be received. Even words. It's not enough that we have in Christ healing, provision, wisdom, peace, righteousness. We have to believe those words. We have to receive what, what he says is ours. We have to receive what Christ made ours. How do we, how do we take possession of, or let me say this, how do we become partakers of what he's made? Our possession? Words. Absolutely words. So it's not enough to say all that's mine in Christ, but you have to say what's yours in Christ. We have, we want Jesus to say, I spoke words to them and they received those words, not rejected those words. Let me give you an example that illustrates this. Years ago, dad Hagin was talking about that he was conducting a crusade in a particular city. There was a missionary that he knew of. I don't know how close their friendship was, but this missionary had been on the foreign field for years. And he came back from the foreign field and he came back due to health issues. He was diagnosed with a terminal condition. And so this missionary was in the hospital and he was really in his dying days. And this is the same city where Brother Hagin came to do a crusade. So Brother Hagin would hold a morning meeting and then he would have an Avonite meeting. And then during the day he would go to the hospital room of this missionary and he would sit there and pray for him. And the primary way he prayed for him is in the Spirit, speaking in other tongues. And so dad Hagin did this for several days in a row. And so after several afternoons of sitting there in that hospital room praying for this missionary, he said, I'd been there praying for a couple of hours that day and he said, all of a sudden, Jesus stood in front of him. And dad Hagin saw him. He saw into the spirit realm, saw Jesus manifesting in that. In that hospital room. And Jesus went over to where the side of the bed where the dying man was. And that missionary perceived. He told dad Hagin later. He says, I didn't see him like you did, but he said, I perceived Jesus was in the room. And this dying missionary really did not have the strength to get up and out of bed. He had been bedridden. But when Jesus came in the room, that missionary, you know, turned, got his legs off the bed and stood up and walked over to where Jesus was and stood right in front of Jesus and held out his hands like this in front of him as though he was going to receive something from Jesus. And then after a moment, he just put his hands down and let them fall. And so Brother Hagin made this statement because he's watching. He's seeing where Jesus is standing. He's seeing that the missionaries come up almost nose to nose. He's standing exactly in proximity right in front of where Jesus is. And he holds his hands out in front of Jesus. Then he lets his hands fall down. And he said. There came a look of disgust over this missionary's face. And Brother Hagin said, the power of the Lord is present in a very particular way to. To heal you, to raise you up. And so the missionary would hold back his hands like he's going to receive something from Jesus. Then he'd let him fall. And he said, just a look of, you know, of hopelessness came across his face. And he did that several times. And the missionary said, I can't receive. And Brother Hagin said, what do you mean you can't? He said, you can receive. He said, the power of the Lord is present in a very particular way to heal you. And he said, I can't receive it. He said, yes, you can. You can receive it. He said, no, I know I can't. And that missionary turned and went around and got right back in the bed. And Jesus turned and looked at dad Hagin and said this. Said, see, I came to heal him, and he won't let me. What's that mean? He wouldn't receive what he came to do. Just because Jesus showed up doesn't mean we're going to receive. We have to make a choice to believe. And can I tell you this? This man knew by the spirit where Jesus was. But even that Jesus in the room didn't give him faith. Why? Because faith doesn't come by seeing something. Faith doesn't come by knowing something. Faith comes by words believing words. And so Jesus turned to dad Hagin said, see, I came to heal him and he won't let me. He says now he'll be dead and told him how many days that he would die in. And it happened exactly as Jesus said. But know this, Jesus was not sentencing that man to die then. That man's refusal to receive is what determined his exit in this earth. Now this is what I want you to see in John chapter 17, verse 8. For I have given unto them the words which thou gave us me look at this. And they have received them. It's up to us to receive words. It's up to us to believe the words that God has spoken will produce what God says they will produce. There is enough power in every word that God says to fulfill what that Word says, to bring, to pass what that Word says. But it's up to us to receive them. Now remember what James says. He said a double minded man won't receive anything from the Lord. What's he mean by double minded? Well, it could be this way that we say one thing to somebody else, but when we're talking to another person, we're saying something different. Well, we can't have two confessions. We have to have one confession. And what does that mean? We have to say exactly what the Word says or we're not in agreement with the Word. We can't say the Word to our pastor, but to our family member or spouse we're saying something different. We're being double minded. And then also, what about this? What about if we've learned that we don't say anything out loud that isn't the Word, we can say all the right words to the people around us. We can say all the right words to our pastor, to our family members, to other believers, but yet to ourself we think something different that's still being double minded. Even if we don't voice wrong thinking, if we meditate on wrong thoughts, that is an open door for the devil to work against us. So we had to not only have our words that we speak audibly, but the words we meditate on within have to be in agreement with the Word of God. So it's so important when Jesus said, I've given them words and they received them. How we treat the Word is how the Word will treat us. If we doubt the Word, it will rob us from receiving what the Word has. But if we agree with the Word, speak the Word and hold fast to that word in the face of opposition, then we will receive what those words can produce in our life. Amen. So know this. The greatest thing that heaven ever gave any, anyone, including Jesus on earth, was words. Because that's how God conducts business himself. When he stood at creation and he said, light be, he did that with words. And those words contained the power to produce what God said. Our words, when they are full of what God says, will produce. And you say, well, I've been speaking the word of God, but nothing's changing. Keep speaking it, keep speaking it. Because God is so developed in his faith that the moment he spoke it, it came into being. That's because his faith is so developed. But our faith may not be as developed, but keep developing it, keep growing. You won't arrive there overnight, but if you'll just stick with it, you will. You will come into a place of such developed faith that you can get results quicker and quicker and quicker. You know, when I was in fifth grade, I started taking piano lessons. And I studied piano all the way through junior high and high school. And it was my major in college. And when I first started playing the piano, it took so much effort and so long for me to arrive at being able to do certain things on that piano. But once I had a certain skill set in place, once I had some foundational things of technique in place that I could open up a book of piece of music I'd never seen before and I could sight, read it and play it. I couldn't do that when I first started. But see, as I developed, as my skill developed, I was able to pick things up and get results quicker with staying with it. And I want you to know, I mean, I stayed with it. People. There were days I didn't want to stay with it. But you want to know why I stayed with it? My mama made me stay with it. I'd walk in from school every day and the first thing she'd say, get on that piano. So for an hour, as soon as I walked in the door at fifth grade on, I had to get on that piano every day. But I stayed with it. And there became a flow because I became developed. If you're not having a flow of the word like you need, don't be discouraged. Just keep developing, keep growing. And you will find yourself coming to such a place of skill that you will receive manifestations quicker and quicker and quicker. That's due to the development of faith. Amen. And so how do we develop our faith and we receive the words God says we speak them and we keep watering that word because if we will plant the seed of the Word in our heart, we will get a harvest of it. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time because we're going to keep going this direction. And until then, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.
