You are listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review Podcast. We find little nuggets, treasures, valuable pieces of gold in the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast and pass them on to you. Perhaps expand a little bit. We are not associated with Joe Rogan in any way. Think of us as the talking dead to Joe's Walking Dead. You're listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review. What a bizarre thing we've created now with your hosts, Adam Thorne. Might either be the worst podcast or the best one. One go. Enjoy the show. Hey guys and welcome to a special episode year end special episode of the Joe Rogan Experience Review. We are ending out 2025 with a look back on how the year came about and went in the Rogan sphere. Joined this week by Peter, who did a lot of episodes with me, the beginning of last year, kind of beginning to mid. What's up, Pete?
Peter
Not too much. Happy to be here. Thanks for having me back.
Adam Thorne
Welcome back. Welcome back. Made sense to have you on since you did some of the pinnacle episodes with me last year and yeah, what an interesting year for Rogan. I mean, you know, Rogan is on his 15th, 16th year of doing the pod. I would say, you know, it's, you know, there's been a bit of a shift in a lot of ways. I mean, for a lot of people he's been getting somewhat more controversial the last, say five years plus. But that there seems somewhat of an energy shift with people online. I don't know exactly what it is, but are you sensing some of that?
Peter
I do sense that it's kind of like less controversial conspiracies like UFOs and pyramids and lizard people and more like AI gonna kill us all or we're ran by an elite government that doesn't care about our health or like us at all. So it's like that kind of vibe.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, yeah. And I. And I think also there's like a shift. I think the fans that originally were drawn to Rogan in the early days, like the 2009, 2011 fans, like those people that were captured back then, those same people hearing it today. I don't mean the same people from back then, but the same types of people that would be jumping on Rogan today. I think they're hearing him different. Obviously Rogan's older, he's in a different place, but he's talking about different things. Back then it was just smoking weed, talking to comedians, talking about mushrooms, talking about DMT and aliens, whatever types of conspiracies. But again, not so much the government ones, maybe a bit of jfk, just kind of fringe stuff. More loosey goosey little wacky Charles Manson. Yeah. He wasn't as kind of sometimes angry about things.
Peter
It seems like he had more fun up until about 2016.
Adam Thorne
It started to get serious and then.
Peter
It'S almost like bigger job for him. Maybe he doesn't care for it anymore.
Adam Thorne
Well, it's certainly more pressure. Right. I mean, it's so big now. I mean, how else could he navigate it? I still think he navigates it really well for what it is. But I mean, this is uncharted waters for anybody. I mean, this is. He's the most listened to human being that has really ever existed. You, you know, it's true. That's basically it.
Peter
The most listened to human ever. That is what, a claim to fame. That's a huge achievement.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. And that's an insane amount of pressure for anybody to stay even remotely normal.
Peter
Right.
Adam Thorne
And you know, when you think about it, I mean, swaying elections. Swaying elections in countries like the United States.
Peter
I think he did it. I think that was a big part of it.
Adam Thorne
I mean, our president just went in and took another prime minister of another country.
Peter
Oh, yeah.
Adam Thorne
And Joe might have helped put him in that position.
Peter
So he's indirectly helped Venezuela be overthrown.
Adam Thorne
Yeah.
Peter
Oh, no.
Adam Thorne
I mean, there's an argument to be made.
Peter
I mean, the goal. What is that the butterfly wings flap on one side of the earth and it creates a hurricane on the other side.
Adam Thorne
There we go.
Peter
Although he's a little bit bigger than a butterfly.
Adam Thorne
He is. He's a ginormous butterfly flapping a lot of wings, causing all sorts of things to go on. And, you know, it's somewhat undeniable. I mean, in a way, this is why I do this show and have been running this little examination since 2017. I mean, that's a long time.
Peter
Yeah, it is.
Adam Thorne
It's almost 10 years I've been doing this. I mean, I'm stretching it out, it just became 2026. But I like to do that roundup makes me sound like I'm working hard.
Peter
Round up.
Adam Thorne
Let's round up.
Peter
Have a roundup.
Adam Thorne
But yeah, I mean, let's, let's take a look at this year. I mean, let's, let's run some numbers for a start. I mean, over 2 billion views across platforms like Spotify, Apple, YouTube. Two billion. That's a lot.
Peter
That's, that's. McDonald's serves 1 billion a day. Joe Rogan gets 2 billion.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, I mean, let's, let's just do some basic podcast math on that. I mean, I'm a podcaster. I know roughly what we get paid and if we. I mean, I don't know exactly how that would break down for YouTube. And then I know Spotify doesn't quite pay the same, but let me just.
Peter
His numbers are. They are not growing. Some of them do achieve huge numbers. Like the Elon episode with I think, what, 50 million views plus. But his other numbers are dwindling.
Adam Thorne
You think so?
Peter
I think. I know so. Spotify cut his deal, not in half, but they've renegotiated for less. You know this for sure because I.
Adam Thorne
Think that last deal, it was, it was just as big, if not more, and he had more rights. Like he was able to put it on back on Apple and on YouTube and other places. Now he gets access to YouTube money.
Peter
It may have been old information I was listening to today.
Adam Thorne
Okay.
Peter
I'm a year old. I don't know.
Adam Thorne
Okay, what I mean, the Elon Musk episode alone, 50 million plus views, that's huge. So, you know, in terms of YouTube views, that's massive. The Trump episode, technically that was the end of 2024, but it was still growing very large at the beginning of 2025. So we're gonna count that one. That one was growing it on YouTube alone. At a million downloads a day, that's one of the fastest growing videos I've ever seen. Other than probably like a Mr. Beast.
Peter
Right?
Adam Thorne
I mean, Mr. Beast videos are growing real fast, but that's, you know, teenagers and eight year olds watching that. It's a little bit different.
Peter
Yeah, it turns out that 8 to 16 year olds drive the Internet views.
Adam Thorne
They do.
Peter
I did not know that.
Adam Thorne
Oh yeah. Dude, have you ever seen those unboxings of like Disney toys? It's just like someone's hands and they open a box. Yeah, there's like 100 million views on those.
Peter
Yes, I've seen, I've seen a misread Rachel Roblox. Just like people playing it and filming themselves talking, talking about it. Yeah, whatever Roblox says.
Adam Thorne
Just bunch of blocks on a road game.
Peter
Millions of views.
Adam Thorne
Oh, yeah. I mean, you know, why look after your kids when you give them an iPad?
Peter
Here, here, just.
Adam Thorne
Just hand it over. But it. Look, he's still making massive numbers and he's still the number one podcaster in the world by a long way. And that's the thing. I mean, I'm pretty sure that you could half his downloads and he'd still be beating everybody. So even if he is on a bit of a downswing, and I'm not saying he is, I don't know, he's still gonna be holding that top spot for a while. I mean, he's. He's going nowhere fast. I mean, he was just so far out ahead. The thing about the online thing, and you see it with elephant graveyard, you were mentioning a video. Who was that guy?
Peter
Podcast cringe.
Adam Thorne
There we go. And you know, I'm sure that these people were fans of Rogan and the Rogan sphere in the past, because when they do videos of kind of mocking that space, they have so much information. This podcast is brought to you by hims. ED doesn't mean your love life is over. It means it's just getting started. With personalized treatment options to help you take back control and spontaneity. And they're so in depth and they have such solid history that you can tell they've been studying this for a long time. And you know, they're not casuals. They didn't just jump in as haters and then do a bunch of research. They're people that have known this space for a while and for whatever reason have just gone sour on it, have lost some faith. And when I talk to, you know, I get emails all the time because we're the Joe Rogan Experience Review. And either people think that we're Rogan and send us emails, or they know it's us and just want to give us some feedback. And, I mean, it's like hundreds a day. I can't read them all. You know, I see him come in when I go to the website and look at the emails and I'll check them every now and again. But, you know, there is some frustration with, like, the billionaires that he has on him, buddy. Buddying up to them. You know, people see that as a bit of, like, sellout move. You know, I'm pretty neutral to that. I would imagine that it's pretty interesting hanging out with billionaires or, like, you know, being able to text them and asking them some questions or going to some of their parties. I mean, you know, you gotta be a little careful. I don't think he's, like, in bed with them, so to speak. I mean, he was just recently talking some shit about Trump going off the deep end, so he's not kissing his ass all the way. And that, in a sense, would be probably quite a positive financial move for him to keep Trump quite happy. Because Trump can get pretty pissed off with people and get quite vindictive.
Peter
Oh, yeah.
Adam Thorne
But, you know, Rogan's being Rogan and he's like, that looks wacky.
Peter
He also does. He does have fuck you money. And he said that before. And he likes to use it.
Adam Thorne
Yeah.
Peter
He says no whenever he wants.
Adam Thorne
Mm. So I think he just has a real curiosity and some of these people are interesting to him, but that's my opinion. Other people aren't seeing it like this, and I think that's why some people are getting frustrated. And there occasionally is some energy from Rogan on pods where you can tell he gets stuck on an issue and he really harps on about it, and there seems like there's some anger there.
Peter
And it's like the. Often it's the California stuff.
Adam Thorne
California. He's bitter about that. I have some of that energy, though. I live there. I went through the COVID stuff. It's human, it's real. People felt really fucked over by what went on there. But I think if you're a listener and you didn't go through that and you had nothing to do with that in that space, it probably gets old.
Peter
Yeah.
Adam Thorne
You know, another.
Peter
Another thing that sours people's listening is. And this isn't true too much anymore, but he launched about five careers in stand up and podcasts, you know, two Bears, One Cave with Tom Segura and Bert Kresher. And they are. They have just milked that thing and are no longer relevant. And they're not funny Maybe never were. I think there's one special that I liked about Tom with Tom's the Fighter and the Kid.
Adam Thorne
Oh, they've done. They've done themselves in for sure.
Peter
So, like, they're kind of hitched to Joe's wagon, and that is dragging. That has dragged him down a bit with people looking into newbies.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. But, you know, that's a hard rap for him, really, because Joe is responsible in a lot of ways for a bunch of podcasts, really. I don't know if he can take credit for Huberman's, but I think that he was a big motivator in getting Andrew Huberman to start. That's a top 10 podcast or numbers.
Peter
Up, that's for sure.
Adam Thorne
I'm pretty sure he was a big motivator in getting Theo to start. That's a top three podcast.
Peter
That's a silly one. I like his.
Adam Thorne
That's Jordan Peterson for sure. Lex Friedman for sure. I would imagine. Ben Shapiro for sure. Jordan Peterson.
Peter
He changed the game.
Adam Thorne
Did I say that?
Peter
Yeah.
Adam Thorne
What about Jocko? Definitely Jocko. Definitely Cam Hain. So because there's so many. There's gonna be some bad eggs in there. Oh, Steve Rinella's podcast, which is so. There's excellent ones that have stood the test of time. They've added a lot of great value and have some just fantastic episodes and are very useful, and a lot of credit should go to Rogan for that. And, yeah, there are some friends of his that it turned out to be grifters, but to be honest, Fighter and the Kid, when it started, wasn't all bad. They. They were quite funny at first, and they had some pretty decent episodes. It's like they themselves got ahead of them. Like they got too big, full of themselves.
Peter
It kind of seemed like they were just reading the comments and then talking about the comments.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, it just got really empty. And then they ran out of their own kind of material. And Two Bears actually started off pretty decent.
Peter
They had some stuff.
Adam Thorne
Yeah.
Peter
Burt has about 15 minutes of funny things to say, and then he just talks about himself for two hours.
Adam Thorne
Mama's House was pretty good at first as well. That had some moments.
Peter
Oh, him and his wife.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. But again, you know, it's like, it's hard to keep these things going. And, you know, is Rogan responsible for all of those sorts of things? It's almost like having a comedy club and let's say, you know, Kill Tony ends up being a huge dud or like something on that show becomes massively problematic. Is that Rogan's fault or did he just give people the opportunity? The fact that Kill Tony has become a massive, massive event that sells out arenas, you know, that itself has become something. Instead of people praising it and going, wow, this is a. This is like not really stand up, but it's entertainment, right? It's mostly just shit on by everybody.
Peter
Well, it's mostly crap now as far as the people that bucket polls are hit or miss. You know, it's funny when the panel craps on them or they got Shane Gillis, Adam Ray. Those guys are legends and.
Adam Thorne
But it was never meant to be great because of the one minute bucket pulls. That's not what it was supposed to be.
Peter
What is it about?
Adam Thorne
Well, it's supposed to be. Well, I used to go watch it when there was like 50 people in the audience in the belly room of the Comedy Store, when like you could go up there right before the show starts and they still had tickets left because it was just not a big show. Back in like 2016, 2017, what it was open micas. You know, they'd have 25 people sign up for it. It wasn't like proper comedians. They actually have pretty decent comedians generally signing up. I mean, they're not professional comedians for the most part. Sometimes they get.
Peter
It's LA at the Comedy Store, so.
Adam Thorne
Exactly. But they're mo. They were mostly open micas. So the idea was it was almost always set up for a minute of bombing and then a panel of professional comedians to just kind of rip on the person that did a minute. It was kind of set up to be a cruel show in a sense, unless the person was kind of good and then they would be encouraging and see if they could find some talent. That was the idea.
Peter
And there have been some gems.
Adam Thorne
Yes.
Peter
Like the sky with Cerebral Palsy is hilarious.
Adam Thorne
He's great.
Peter
His timing is off, but that's not his fault.
Adam Thorne
He's doing his best joke. He's doing his best. But yeah, they have had a few people come through. And then there's also like a very particular style that's come out of it too. It's like a roasting style. And, you know, it just is different. It's a whole different kind of setup of entertainment.
Peter
And the Austin. Austin style with where. Where Shock and awe is name in the game.
Adam Thorne
It's a little bit like that. Yeah. And I get it too. I get it. If people are like really into stand up, especially polished, professional stand up, that's not what that kind of show is. You know, another show I used to go watch at the Comedy Store that I loved. Jeremiah Watkins show, Stand up on the spot where they would take actually, you know, headliners, professional comedians and people would shout things out from the crowd.
Peter
Oh yeah, I see that.
Adam Thorne
And then you have to riff. You can't use your material. And you know, that really sets you up for some really awkward sets.
Peter
Wacky sets.
Adam Thorne
Well, sometimes they go nowhere, but sometimes you get some gems because these guys are good.
Peter
I think I saw Harlan Williams doing one of those.
Adam Thorne
Oh, he's good. I bet he was excellent.
Peter
He's. He does. He makes you cringe. He's like my this whole bit about his sister got her legs chopped off. He doesn't even have a sister right. But it was like he was hilarious.
Adam Thorne
He's very good. He's actually very good on Kill Tony as well when he's on there. Well, I saw, I saw him live at the Mothership when I took the team down there and he, he was just killing all of us. It was some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. This podcast is brought to you by Chime. Chime is changing the way people bank fee free and smarter banking built for you. That's not what that setup is. It also is different than stand up comedy in the purest sense.
Peter
So I do miss jokes.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, when, when Tony tries. I mean, listen, Tony often doesn't even tell one joke the whole episode.
Peter
He just kind of shrieks and. Ha ha.
Adam Thorne
Well, he's just hosts. He's just like. And up next.
Peter
We got Puerto Ricans on the thing.
Adam Thorne
He loves that Puerto Rican joke, doesn't he? Well, look, let's. Let's look at some of the episodes from the year that really stood out. I mean, starting off the year early on February, episode 2281, Elon Musk came on. Yeah. Three hour banger came on. I mean, started talking about Doge, what the Doge thing was gonna start to be and. Yeah, what was your take on the whole Doge thing? I mean, look.
Peter
Dogecoin.
Adam Thorne
No, no, no.
Peter
The Doge.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, where he was like analyzing the government.
Peter
Well, if it's too failed to fix it is a pipeline. This is what he thinks it's a pipeline for laundering money. Our money to the powers that be.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, he thinks it's fucked.
Peter
It takes all our money and gives it to other countries.
Adam Thorne
I think that he had a suspicion, but now he knows for sure and he has proof. He went in there, he downloaded it all deep and he's like, oh, this is a mess. I'm going to mas.
Peter
And then he was like, all of a sudden, black eye got a black eye. He got too Deep. Got too vocal. And somebody, yeah, probably Hillary.
Adam Thorne
Somebody punched him in the face. I said that. I had my theory, right. I said that to the wife over Christmas. I was like, look, somebody punched him in the face. He got in deep. He's the richest guy in the world. And people more powerful than him were like, whack, shut up.
Peter
Do something about it.
Adam Thorne
And she was like, that is ridiculous. It says online that his kid accidentally whacked him in the face. I go, do you think that a little kid could whack me in the face and give me a black eye? It's way more fun to have these conspiracies than it is just accept whatever.
Peter
Well, that's a conspiracy too, couldn't it? The kid.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. What a lazy cover up that is. I don't know. Do you remember when George Bush got a black eye?
Peter
There's a thing called the Black Eye Club.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. Supposedly he choked on a pretzel and passed out, fell over and gave himself a black eye.
Peter
We've talked about this before.
Adam Thorne
I don't trust him.
Peter
We've talked about this before. The Black Eye Club. Every powerful person has had a black eye. I've had a black eye, but it was from Jiu Jitsu.
Adam Thorne
How does it work? What's that club then? Someone punches you in the face.
Peter
Look it up. The Black Eye Club.
Adam Thorne
But how's it work?
Peter
It's like the most powerful people in the world show up one day with.
Adam Thorne
A black eye and they have to.
Peter
Go into public and they're just like, yep, explain it or don't explain it. They all have had it.
Adam Thorne
Like you have to take a punch to the face.
Peter
I think someone's like, eventually they think they're too powerful.
Adam Thorne
Is there just one guy that does it?
Peter
The, like the wrecker?
Adam Thorne
Yeah, just one dude.
Peter
He's got a great overhead, right.
Adam Thorne
He's got a big old left hand.
Peter
Big, big country right to the head.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, well, it was on his right eye, so I'm thinking it's a left handed guy. Oh, yeah, yeah. Because you wouldn't punch unless they just stand to your right side. Sorry, I'm overthinking.
Peter
We're overthinking this one.
Adam Thorne
I'm overthinking it, but I want to know how the club works.
Peter
It probably has something to do with humiliation rituals and bowing to power.
Adam Thorne
There we go. Yeah, but you know, look it up.
Peter
Somebody.
Adam Thorne
When he came on and you know, Rogan pushed back a little bit on that episode because, you know, Elon was talking about how frustrated he Was that people were so pissed off with him. And also, well, you know, protesting at Tesla dealerships, burning them. You know, remember when all that was happening, shooting them, that was kind of wild.
Peter
Incredible.
Adam Thorne
And, you know, drawing swastikas on the cybertrucks seemed like mainly the cybertrucks they didn't like, really getting frustrated with him. And that one I kind of didn't get. Other that he was working with Trump. But just auditing the government seemed like a good move.
Peter
And they didn't want any piece of that, did they? They didn't want an audit. They want to audit me for making $700. They don't want to audit big business for making $7 billion, paying $100,000 in taxes.
Adam Thorne
I wonder why you didn't find any of the Somalian stuff. Is that in a different system?
Peter
I think that that would have to be. Well, that's probably a Minnesota specific.
Adam Thorne
Oh, that's true. He was looking more federal level.
Peter
There are tons of those. And there's a thing coming out recently that's it's operated by the government. The Somalians are not known for their craftiness with pushing paperwork. This is all funded by someone else funneling money to somewhere else. And I don't want to get you in trouble anymore. So I'm not going to say who I think it is.
Adam Thorne
Don't do it. Up next, mel Gibson's episode 2254. Now, this was interesting because didn't Trump, like, nominate unofficially, Mel Gibson to be, like, the Hollywood ambassador? You remember that?
Peter
I do not remember that.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, that was like an unofficial role that he gave. It was like he represents Hollywood through the administration somehow. I don't know what that meant or what that did, but Mel Gibson was very excited to do it. Talked there was some conspiracy vibes in there, a little bit of backlash against Hollywood, some raw talk. You know, I mean, it's Mel Gibson's gibbons, so he's going to do that. And kind of talked about the machine controlling Tinseltown. And I don't know, they talk a little bit about Epstein files and the whole thing in there, but, yeah, yeah, some of that kind of control over Hollywood.
Peter
He basically got canceled, right?
Adam Thorne
Like, yeah, but he's mostly back. I think he apologized enough and laid low. And did he sober up mostly?
Peter
I think he stopped drinking and driving.
Adam Thorne
There we go.
Peter
It's kind of all you have to do, really.
Adam Thorne
You should do that. Yeah, definitely do that.
Peter
Keep it at home.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. You know, he's getting older.
Peter
He still looks great.
Adam Thorne
I mean, look if you're drinking and then also find yourself saying some outrageous things, cut back. That's your first sign. That's a warning sign.
Peter
I think I had a few of those.
Adam Thorne
There we go. Well, you need to cut back, sir. It's dry January.
Peter
All right.
Adam Thorne
Dry January. You gotta do it. What are we, five days in?
Peter
I've done two days out of five.
Adam Thorne
There we go. Still shaking.
Peter
No, I'm drinking these Nas. They. They kind of. They do the trick.
Adam Thorne
It's helping kombucha. That's what you want to go to. Technically, Kombucha is like an na.
Peter
It has a. It's alcoholic, right?
Adam Thorne
Has a little bit like a 0.5%, 0.5%. But yeah, he felt like Mel Gibson was. Was doing better on this episode of this year. When he was on before, he was clicking a pen a lot and you know, he was talking about his dad and he was clicking a pen a lot and it was kind of annoying, but it had to.
Peter
Joe, did Jamie say something?
Adam Thorne
No, nobody said anything because it's Mel Gibson and you wouldn't say that.
Peter
But.
Adam Thorne
But he was a little bit more coherent. He had some good stories and it was, you know, it was a big episode. Then around the same time, Mark Zuckerberg came on. And I don't know if it was just because, you know, Elon was coming on and Trump just had. And it was like big player billionaire time. But the Zuck was coming in as Zuckerberg 2.0.
Peter
The cool one.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, this is the cool. Where he had the gold chain fro and he's talking about Jiu Jitsu and he wanted to pretend that he knew how to bow hunt. And Joe kind of called him out on that, like, hey, what kind of bow do you got? And Zuck's like, I don't remember. And he's like, what kind of release do you have? And Zuck had no idea what he was talking about. And it just didn't go over well.
Peter
It fell flat.
Adam Thorne
Well, look, you can't. You can't bullshit Rogan.
Peter
Not on bow hunting.
Adam Thorne

Peter
Biggest thing he likes.
Adam Thorne
I think the mistake that Mark made, he'd obviously done some research. He has legitimately been training some jiu jitsu and training with some great guys and showing up to the ufc. So he's been doing some stuff.
Peter
I think he does MMA training.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, he does. And he trains with some good guys like Volk and some solid competitors. However, I think that he's so used to being interviewed or talking to people that mostly just ask him the right questions, softballs, or don't really like, press him too hard to kind of like almost to like the interrogation stage, that as long as he does enough research to make it seem like he's learned something about what you're into or what they're talking about, then that's enough for him to sound legit. The problem is Rogan doesn't work like that. Rogan's gonna make sure that you know what you're talking about.
Peter
Wait a minute.
Adam Thorne
He's like, excuse me, what?
Peter
Thumb release?
Adam Thorne
Yeah. He's like, I play pool. What kind of pool cue you got? What kind of weight is that?
Peter
2017.
Adam Thorne
What kind of chalk do you have?
Peter
Yellow. All the wrong answers.
Adam Thorne
And it did just. He basically just turned back into Zuck 1.0, which was nerd Zuck.
Peter
That's a very human response of you. Zuck.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I mean, look, with Jeff Bezos. Say what you want about him. I buy Bezos 2.0 when he showed up just looking jacked, New wife, super yacht, looking like, you know, a Bond villain.
Peter
He's leaning in.
Adam Thorne
I Was like, cool. He looks badass.
Peter
He looks like a cool.
Adam Thorne
He just. I mean, do you remember how much of a nerd he looked like before.
Peter
He was a librarian, basically?
Adam Thorne
And now he's just like, bam. I mean, Zuck trying to do it. He's just. He's doing everything to pull that off, too. He's surfing. Surfing with a beer on 4th of July, wearing, like an American flag suit. I mean, he's putting it out there. He's doing his best. However. B minus.
Peter
B.
Adam Thorne
Sorry.
Peter
Sorry, buddy.
Adam Thorne
I'm sorry. Don't. Don't ban me from Instagram. But B minus. B minus. Moving on into the year June, episode 2341. We're just doing my favorite ones, all the ones that really stood out. Bernie freaking Sanders. I quite like this one. I like that he has Bernie on. Joe respects Bernie. Right. Whether you're a fan of Bernie or not, you know, I like a lot of Bernie's integrity. He's the same guy he's been since, like 75. For good or for bad.
Peter
You know, Lifelong politician.
Adam Thorne
Exactly.
Peter
Never had a job, never worked a.
Adam Thorne
Day in his life. And he comes on and, you know, and Rogan did push back a little bit over some things. The climate stuff, he kind of brought some points up about. Kind of pushed back about. But Bernie brought up some points that were pretty decent, honestly. Just about the wealth inequality, you know, and there is some pretty alarming data right now about the massive wealth inequality. You know, the very richest people freaking have all the money and everyone else is just broke.
Peter
99% of the money. 1% of the population.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. And the rest of us have nothing. We're basically all slaves.
Peter
And I think slaves per capita made more money than us somehow.
Adam Thorne
They're who. What.
Peter
Some slaves are doing have done better than our life. We're wage slaves.
Adam Thorne
Yep.
Peter
Not you and I. Dude.
Adam Thorne
I saw this thing about taxes the other day, and they. By the time you take everything in, all the taxes in that we pay, not just like the federal tax or the rest of it, but it's like sales tax. And then the taxes on the taxes, and every single tax, it's like 70% of everything that we make ends up being paid to some tax.
Peter
And then they buy a thousand dollar hair.
Adam Thorne
Think about that. That's like, what is that? Like eight, nine months of the year. We work for nothing. That really is a type of slavery.
Peter
Kind of makes me not want to work at all. It's shocking, but what I do. Kibble's not free.
Adam Thorne
Yeah.
Peter
I got a dog you know, it.
Adam Thorne
Makes you think that you shouldn't work for eight months, then just work for four.
Peter
Oh, and that'd be nice.
Adam Thorne
That'd be great.
Peter
Let's figure that one out here soon.
Adam Thorne
Yep. Ending off the year, of course. We had Shane Gillis in December. That was a nice treat. That just happened recently. We need to review that one actually. Coming up, a bit of comedy gold. Some wild stories, of course. Got into some woke mob stuff and hit a little bit of Trump madness. They went over what Trump's been doing in the White House. Knocking down that building, falling asleep at the wheel. And also Epstein not releasing the list. And those plaques, President plaques.
Peter
Ridiculous. Ridiculous.
Adam Thorne
That's ridiculous.
Peter
You can't change that. You can't do that, change history.
Adam Thorne
You can't write those things.
Peter
He's an excellent guy. Dog of a wife.
Adam Thorne
Worst president ever. Total disaster. And somehow Trump is mentioned in all of the ones, even throughout history. The George Washington one. It's like he would have loved Trump if he had known Trump, but he didn't know Trump.
Peter
The best hair next to Trump.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. I don't know. I don't know who's let him get away with this. I guess no one can stop him at this point. No, he's absolutely.
Peter
He's a madman.
Adam Thorne
Just do it. The fact that the picture of Biden is the auto pen is, I mean, funny. You know, objectively funny.
Peter
Very funny.
Adam Thorne
Like you have to say that, but it is wild. That is like an Onion story, but it's real life. Even the Onion wouldn't have thought of that.
Peter
We have a. We don't have a serious culture.
Adam Thorne
It's a wackadoo time. We're doing the ufcs in the White House next year on the lawn. Could you imagine anything like that?
Peter
As long as my boy Jon Jones gets back up there, I'm in.
Adam Thorne
I think he's gonna.
Peter
He's got to.
Adam Thorne
I think he's getting up there, you know, and then they talk about the state of politics and, like, kind of where. Where things have been and where it's going, and it's. You know, they talk about, you know, Catholic presidents, right? JFK was the first. Didn't last long for whatever reason, and technically Biden was the second. But I guess he's not, like, super Catholic.
Peter
He wasn't a particularly devout Catholic.
Adam Thorne
Wasn't all in. But then, you know, just kind of talking about that. That whole religious aspect of things. And then, you know, where is politics going and who's following who these days? They. They even bring up some Fuentes stuff like who are the new leaders that are coming forward? I mean, you know, so much pushback against Nick Fuentes and for good reason. I mean, he really riles people up and says some outrageous things. But at the same time, you watch the Piers Morgan interview and the styles are so different that it's almost like Trump esque in the debates. It doesn't make Trump more right. It doesn't make his answers more correct. It doesn't even make them more acceptable. They're less acceptable, but they're arguably winning the debates.
Peter
Yeah, the accusations fall flat. They seem drummed up. And also, what issues are we even talking about?
Adam Thorne
Yeah, he's just dodging them left and right. And then he becomes president and it seemed like Nick just dodges everything Pierce gave him and then hammers Pierce about five things. You look online and overall people were like, pierce look like an idiot. And it's like, wait a second, what? How did that happen? You give that 20 years. Who, who knows? Who's paying attention to that? Like, is. Is there this new kind of generation coming in, looking at different things? It's. It's a big question and possibly a scary one that people should pay attention to. I don't know. I don't know. Another really inspirational one. In December, Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll has lost like 250 pounds. He's lost another person.
Peter
He's got a. He's got ozempic eyes, doesn't he?
Adam Thorne
Yeah, he didn't take it. Supposedly he did it naturally.
Peter
Cocaine?
Adam Thorne
No, supposedly just diet and exercise.
Peter
I don't believe him.
Adam Thorne
Well, I don't think Joe is a liar and I don't think Jelly Roll is, so I'm on jellies.
Peter
Okay, we're gonna have to agree to disagree about this.
Adam Thorne
Jellies. Jelly side. You can't really call him Jelly Roll anymore. He needs a new nickname.
Peter
Lobster Roll.
Adam Thorne
No, it's gotta be like a thinner one. Diet Roll.
Peter
Fruit by the foot. Smaller.
Adam Thorne
We're not good at it. We're not good at this. But yeah, he's lost a bunch. He really talked. I mean, he talked honestly. He talked openly. He was humble. He said I was gonna die, you know?
Peter
Yeah, yeah.
Adam Thorne
I couldn't, you know, have sex with my wife. I couldn't focus. I couldn't perform. I couldn't do much.
Peter
I wonder if he could cut out drinking. Was that like, was that his thing? Was he a drinker?
Adam Thorne
Yeah, I think he was drinking in drugs. You know, there's a lot going on. I mean, he was Doing everything wrong. He was eating horrible food. I mean, tons of sugar. He said he couldn't even see properly. He couldn't even see colors.
Peter
Yeah, because his glaucoma or diabetic blindness, probably.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, probably, like, you know, type 7 diabetes of that weight.
Peter
Side effect of Ozempic is blindness.
Adam Thorne
But that's actual blindness, not color blindness.
Peter
I'm not a scientist.
Adam Thorne
Oh, all right. But he said yes, Supposedly, once he, like, cleared that up, he could, like, see just much better. He got, like, crayons and coloring books and. Yeah, he, like, got into it. It was, like, coloring all kinds.
Peter
I caught a clip of him we almost weeping about a woman he's never met. Mitzi Shore. Do you remember that part where he was like, I just can't believe the love you guys have for this lady. I just thought it was odd, like, to be kind of verklempt over a woman you've never met.
Adam Thorne
Well, I mean, he goes to Rogan's club, and they have a bar there called Mitzi's Bar. So she owned the Comedy Store.
Peter
Right.
Adam Thorne
That's Polly Shoals Mom.
Peter
Right.
Adam Thorne
And, you know, she was, like, the. You know, the mother of comedy for all these guys. So they. They really admire her. And Joe does a lot. So they.
Peter
She was great.
Adam Thorne
You know, Rogan is someone that Jelly Roll really looks up to and has probably inspired him a great deal to get his life together, at least in terms of health and weight.
Peter
That is one thing that Rogan is awesome at.
Adam Thorne
He's very good at that.
Peter
Getting people motivated to. No doubt, to change their lives for the better. Come on.
Adam Thorne
For sure. And I'm sure he's done it for countless thousands of people. I mean, you see it from just some of his friends. Hasn't worked great with Burt, but Tom, definitely.
Peter
I mean, he's on his. Well, what's that? His clinic down there. The ways to. Well, ways to. Well, they're all going there.
Adam Thorne
Yep.
Peter
So Bert's getting his blood done, and he's bragging that it's perfect all the time.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, of course.
Peter
Although he did just get some of his intestines removed.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. So I'd like to see those results. But, yeah, Rogan does that. He inspires. And I think, because, you know, Jelly Roll knows that Mitzi is someone that Rogan really looked up to and was inspired by. I think it's like that.
Peter
That love of Joe transformation.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, I think it's some of that. But I. But I also get your point. It's like, he didn't know of He's a sensitive guy. He's a sensitive guy. He's a sweet guy.
Peter
He is, actually. But the. Oh, I heard an interesting thing about Mitzi, as she was basically on her deathbed. Jerry Seinfeld, who did not like her because she said he wasn't funny. And she never booked him.
Adam Thorne
Yep. Never made him a regular.
Peter
I don't think roasted the hell out of her while she was dying. She's like, yeah, she didn't like me. I wonder how she's doing now. Very well. Knowing that she's dying.
Adam Thorne
Well, that hurts.
Peter
He's spiteful. Yeah.
Adam Thorne
But that hurts. That hurts. That hurts. Comedians, dude. That probably really, really hurt him.
Peter
He is only worth a billion dollars, you know.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, well, he got. I guess that's revenge. But that is dark. But, you know, comedians are dark.
Peter
Yeah, he's like a clean comic, but it could be dark.
Adam Thorne
Yeah, that's something else. I don't know. You know, let's look at overall fan vibes. I would say that, you know, on the whole, like, Rogan's anti establishment edge is somewhat getting lost. You know, like we said earlier, people somewhat saying he sold out. You know, it's kind of like, it's hard to say where the line is a little bit. That's some of the sentiment online. I ran some of it through chat just to kind of get, well, some like multiple AIs, just to get kind of like a percentage of where the comments are. And it just looks at like Reddit, you know, the subreddits, Twitter just kind of, you know, looks through all these comments and reviews, kind of compiles them and gets a feel for it and. And it was kind of pointing in that direction. So overall, people are starting to feel, on average like it's going that way. Like there's a bit of a sellout energy. I don't know if I agree. Right. But I could see their point. And more importantly, it's. It's, you know, what people are seeing themselves. I don't know what that means for the future. I do feel like Rogan is stepping away from interviewing the politicians. I don't think he wants to be that guy, step into politics as much. And I kind of hope he doesn't in 2026. I'd like to think that, you know, in the next. I mean, how old is he now? 50, 58 or 60? No, he's like 57 maybe.
Peter
Yeah.
Adam Thorne
Okay, so what's he got, like another decade doing this? Like, just get back to having some fun. It's like Just have some fun. I mean, he ended the year with the Age of Disclosure, basically the closest thing we've got so far to just showing us that aliens exist. That's fun. Let's stick to that.
Peter
Let's.
Adam Thorne
Let's find out what's under those pyramids.
Peter
That's what I want.
Adam Thorne
Let's get to that. That's what everyone wants, really.
Peter
I just want Graham Hancock on there every other week.
Adam Thorne
Let's get to the bottom of those things.
Peter
I want another Dibble Hancock debate.
Adam Thorne
That would be great.
Peter
I come to Jesus for the both of them.
Adam Thorne
He has been shitting on Dibble. Dibble's pretty butthurt about that. I think it's like put a lot of pressure on dibs.
Peter
Well, he came with biased arguments.
Adam Thorne
Yeah. Yeah, he did get debunked quite hard. But, you know. And he did have a silly hat on.
Peter
I will say that every single archaeologist.
Adam Thorne
I've ever met has a silly hat. They.
Peter
They're like, I'm an archaeologist. I'm like, I know. You have the leather vest and the hat. I can tell.
Adam Thorne
There we go. Well, I think that overall it was a solid 2025. I don't know what you guys think, you know, send us a message, let us know. And I'm excited to see where 2026 goes. I'm interested as always, and we thank you for listening. We appreciate you. And let's kick some ass this year, everybody.
Peter
Yeah. Happy New Year.
Adam Thorne
Happy New Year and God bless America.
Peter
Amen.
