It’s the horror story cavers tell each other as a warning. In 2009, 26-year-old medical student John Jones went spelunking with his brother and nine friends in Utah’s Nutty Putty Cave - a system of tunnels so tight you literally have to breathe out to fit through them. John was aiming to squeeze through the famous tunnel called ‘The Birth Canal’. But... he picked the wrong tunnel. This is Just The Gist (MINI) of the Nutty Putty Cave: John Edward Jones, the dead-end tunnel called ‘Ed’s Push’, the 137 rescuers who spent 27 hours trying to reach him, and the reason the cave has been sealed shut with concrete ever since.
