Hello and welcome to this episode of Kennedy Saves the World. So I am joining a couple of one is a hopeful bride and the other is a recent bride and I am an almost bride. And these two, two women, like the three of us, are all kind of in the same category. I call us varsity brides because we've already been there. The three of us have already been married, not to each other. And now we are looking forward with these like, exciting and satisfying adult relationships. And it's interesting seeing the criticism that gets piled on to women in their 50s and in one bride's case, in her 60s. And as if you can't look forward and have a, a mutual and awesome relationship after you've already been married. So I wrote about this for Daily Mail last week and it was a really fun topic to write about, especially reading about the two women that I'm talking about other than myself, Jennifer Aniston and Marjorie Taylor Greene. So, so let's take on each of them separately. Jennifer Aniston is getting a lot of heat because she is dating this guy that some people, including my Daily Mail co Colum Maureen Callahan, whom I love. And her nerve podcast is amazing. You have to download it and enjoy it. It's really, really great. And she is always making fun of Jim Curtis, who is Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend, because he is a hypnotist. And it just, the whole thing maybe seems a little predatory and grifty and creepy. I don't think that's the case. I think that Jennifer Aniston has been around entertainment long enough. Dad was on Days of Our Lives. He was a really famous, beloved soap actor. And now she's found this guy. And I want you to think about it this way because people are kind of warning her that she has too much money and somehow that's not good for business because this guy will never be able to afford her lifestyle. That may be an issue if you're in your 20s or 30s and your dad's like a billionaire. And remember Hot Felon, the super hot guy with a super sexy mugshot? And he dated an heiress. And it didn't end well. This is not that. And also, when you. She's 57 years old, she's been married twice, and she was married to Brad Pitt. And it's very interesting because anytime Brad Pitt is in the news, and I wrote about this for Daily Mail a couple weeks ago, people go, man, he. He was really stupid to let Jennifer Aniston go in order to hitch his wagon to Angelina Jolie's crazy star. That was obviously a really bad choice because now he hasn't seen his six kids and I think six years. And he's not gonna see him anytime soon because they are all dropping the last name Pitt from their hyphenated name. And it's super sad for him. But what has to be even more sad is he looks at Jennifer Aniston, who was clearly in the marriage because she wanted a partnership. She wanted all the things that people, especially women, love about a marriage. You know, being with a partner, taking care of someone, anticipating their needs and having a great time with someone in life with whom you have a ton in common. And it's. It's clear that that's what she loved about her relationship with Brad Pitt. She was very heartbroken and she found love again. Married Justin Thoreau. I was always very skeptical about that guy because he seemed like a pretty boy hipster who was much more concerned with the way he was portrayed. And he was obsessed with being authentic and kind of a cultural know it all, which I always found slightly annoying. And I'm like, why are you with her, dude? So he is clearly no longer with her. They divorced. She's talked about fertility struggles and wanting to have kids, but she knows she wants to be married. So she finds this guy, Jim Curtis, who. Who is like a hypnotist and new agey soybeans slurping self help guru, which, you know, to me would be super off putting and weird, but to her, like, she's been into that stuff forever. Like, she's one of those, we gotta manifest everything. And she does this spiritual circle, the spiritual goddess circle, with what I described as her. As her a list covenant where she has her friends, they have this wooden stick, they call it the talking stick, and it's decorated with like blingy jewels and feathers and they talk into it. And so supposedly, reportedly, according to my other colleagues at the Daily Mail, she has been telling the stick that the stick needs to tell her boyfriend, Jim Curtis, to propose to her, which I think is very sweet because she wants to be married again because she is an optimist, and that is not something to be ashamed of. She does not deserve your mockery. And if she has 300 million in the bank, baby, lean into being a sugar mama. There is something so badass about that. If you have so much money, you can buy anything you want in life, any villa, any vacation, anything for your home to make it an oasis. And she does like, she meditates and does Pilates and P volve, whatever that is. That sounds like a vaginal physical therapy program, which you know also. Again, that's fine, but I don't think she should be mocked for being wealthy. I think that's stupid. Is she supposed to redistribute her love because someone else doesn't have enough? Maybe that's what she's doing with Jim. The guy's a hard worker. He's an author. He's got a new book coming out. She's going to interview him at the 92nd Street Y here in New York City in early September. And she's stoked. And if she wants to walk down the aisle and if she has finally found a partner, good for her. And I'm not saying that as a justification for getting married. I'm excited to get married. I love being married. And, you know, the first partner that I was with, it didn't work out. But that doesn't mean that even though you are not romantically connected for your entire lives, it doesn't mean you should cease to look for the same kind of romantic connection that can still give you so much. So Marjorie Taylor Greene is another one. Now, this is very funny because she met her her now husband. They got married in Vegas at a MAGA rally in 2022 when she was all on board the Trump train. And then it's very curious because the very thing that brought them together also tore her life apart. So she got a divorce. The next year, she started dating this journalist. He gave up his career as a journalist to move to Georgia to be with her because she apparently somehow has a ton of Money. And I love that she is loaded and she still got married in Vegas. That's kind of awesome. I mean, that's the other thing about being a bride again is you really cut out the bull, you cut out the riff raff, you see what is not important and let go of the baggage. Because I guarantee you, anyone who has had a long term marriage that ends in divorce, you do a lot of self examination and you figure out like, what was my part in this, how did I fail and how can I go forward in another adult relationship and not do that again and also not waste my time and energy on people who don't deserve it. And I have no doubt that Marjorie Taylor Greene did that. And good for her. And she also decided that it's easier to get married in Vegas. It is a turnkey operation. Everything you need, it is already there. And that, you know, it's like the rooms are cheap and they've, you know, it's like they're used to last minute weddings so they've got everything. It's like, oh, you want a dress, you want a cake, you want a tiara, you want sky high hair? We can do all of it in 25 minutes or less or your wedding is free. And you know, either Elvis or the ghost of Liberace will officiate the whole thing. And that's what she did. Do not discount a Vegas wedding. I know people were kind of making fun of her for getting married in Vegas. Like, oh, it's not classy. It's like, who cares? It's like she's beaming and she's marrying a guy she's obviously super into. And she was probably like pretty beat up for a while because apparently she wanted to run for governor and Senate in Georgia and Trump said, I'm not backing you because you're not going to win. And that was devastating to her. So not only did she break ties with the MAGA movement and with Trump, she quit Congress, but apparently has a really beautiful multi million dollar compound in Costa Rica and she entertains her friends and family there. She's stoked on this guy. So let's give these varsity moms a high five. I'm delighted to join them. I hope Jennifer Aniston gets her proposal and everyone should be happy for them because let's be honest, we are the optimists. And you should cheer for other people the way you want to be cheered for because God forbid it hasn't worked out for you. It just goes to show you, there are always beautiful possibilities in life and you just gotta grab the bull by the horns and ride that sucker into the sunset. Very proud to be a future varsity bride.
