Today's stories include Pete Parsons is leaving Bungie, we live react to the Splinter Cell anime trailer and James Guns says new future of WB games is in the early stages. All this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. What's up everybody? And welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Friday, August 22, 2025. I'm one of your hosts, Snowbike Mike. And today I am joined by the Lock, the taste maker, one of my best friends, number 1.2. 1.2, Roger Piccorni. Roger, what's going on, buddy?
Roger Piccorni
How are you? What a beautiful day. I mean, to hear Splinter Cell in the the top three news stories. I. I know Blessing was trying to cut that out of the top three. You know what I mean? Like, he's probably trying to get it to WE news, but I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not happening. I'm very excited. I've been waiting. I've been waiting to watch this trailer. I'm excited to hang out.
Snowbike Mike
You got mad at me yesterday because I did click on the trailer and my cell phone at full volume.
Roger Piccorni
Full volume is what I hear. It's just dead silent office. And I just hear, I hear the fucking goggles going on. I'm like, mike, just wait. Like literally, we're going to be on content tomorrow. Just don't watch it. Just stop scrolling for five seconds.
Snowbike Mike
Of course I have Splinter Cell super fan in the office. Roger McCorny here with me. I on Games Daily. Which means we will live react to the brand new Splinter Cell anime trailer. We have some other dope stories to get through on this Friday, but the biggest story of them all. Oh, I like this normally in housekeeping, but I'm going to tell them about it right now.
Roger Piccorni
Yes.
Snowbike Mike
Mario Party is going down inside the studio. It has taken months to convince these jabronis to finally play and they have all bought in. They're all ready to sit on the couch on the big stage and play Mario Party together.
Roger Piccorni
And we couldn't make it easy for them. We couldn't just say, hey guys, hang out, maybe drink a little bit, play some Mario Party. We're no, we're going to add another element of disaster, of chaos to this. And you want to tell them about it, Mikey?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, Roger, you. And I said, how do we get them up and moving? How do we get them from sitting on the couch kind of getting into a lull flow state? How do we keep them moving? And so we have 20 IRL challenges that we will perform and play throughout this awesome stream. So get ready to get everybody standing up, shaking, stretching, laughing, having a good time. So if you enjoy Mario party, if you love the kind of funny crew and you want to see us do some dumb minute to win it challenges, don't miss out on the fun that will be after today's games cast for your afternoon stream. So a great Friday to cap off the week as we near the end of August. Roger.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, man. We're almost there. I can't believe that summer's almost over. Yeah, right there. We're in the dog days of summer. That's good, that's good, that's good. Is that how dogs sound? I don't. When every time Braun breaker does this thing where he goes, everyone, I want my dogs in the building. And everyone goes, I just. I don't feel like I'm doing it right. I feel like. I feel like I'm a sad puppy.
Snowbike Mike
No, no, Roger, you give out a great dog bark. I appreciate it.
Roger Piccorni
No, I appreciate it. Great job, Mike. How are you doing? Are you playing anything fun? You doing anything fun?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, Roger, as you know, I'm in the thick of it when it comes to my Pokemon Nuzlocke journey. Thank you for asking. Attempt number five did not go my way. Attempt number six took place and that failed quickly. And so now number seven. Oh, and I'm happy to report that I have dropped the mic lock rules and I've gone to the traditional Nuzlock big three rules. So I will be able to say when I complete this, that I have completed and done my first ever real Nuzlock.
Roger Piccorni
Completed.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. I'm going to complete it now. Have I beaten Jim Ford?
Roger Piccorni
So confused. Isn't a Nuzlocke like a proper Nuzlocke harder than what you were already doing?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Way harder.
Roger Piccorni
Why? Why do you have the confidence that you're going to be able to beat this one?
Snowbike Mike
Because I've now mastered the first four hours of this video game because I've done it so many times that I know what it takes to get to where I need to be.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, you're like me yesterday, where I'm trying to. I'm trying desperately to shoot. To shoot, like just a little bit away from the basketball hoop. Not even a three pointer at all. Right. And I get like two in a row and I'm like, I could do three pointers and I start going back and I'm just missing everyone. That's what you're going to do tonight. You're like, I got the confidence Now I do this.
Snowbike Mike
I'm very excited. I'm having a ton of fun. It's all I can think about, Roger. And it's going to be my weekend. So I'm really, really pumped about that. Thank you for asking. And thanks for giving me your encouragement and your. Your nod of approval, as you know. I'll get it done.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. I'm proud of you. And I, I. I always love an unearned confidence, and that's just kind of. That's just kind of all you. I've been playing two things really quick. I won't talk.
Snowbike Mike
Wow. Okay.
Roger Piccorni
I'm going to shout out. You know, sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong, and he's currently my mortal enemy. He's not. He's your 1.1.
Snowbike Mike
He's my 1 point.
Roger Piccorni
He's my number 25. All the way down to the bottom of the list. Andy Cortez. Him and I are beefing, of course, but right now, he did tell me. He said, hey, play. King is watching. That game rules. That game rules. Everybody. We gotta. You gotta play that game. That's on Steam right now. King is watching. Pretty sure that's the name of the game, right?
Snowbike Mike
Have you played. This seat is taken.
Roger Piccorni
Yes, I've also played that.
Snowbike Mike
That's a great one, that one. I'm playing that right now. Love that.
Roger Piccorni
That one's a fun time. That's a fun nighttime game or whatever. Yeah, it gets a little complicated by the ending. I. I'm just like, well, how far are you into it?
Snowbike Mike
I beat the first world. I don't want to sit next to somebody stinky. Yeah, I want to.
Roger Piccorni
By the end of it, it starts to become like, oh, well, I'm. I'm a fan of this team. And then this person and this person's stinky, and it just gets so complicated.
Snowbike Mike
I love that.
Roger Piccorni
But. Oh, is the seat taken? Is really good. King is watching. Is awesome. And then Void Breakers, Andy has been telling me about, and I played a little bit of that. That game has the stuff too. So shout out to Andy Cortez. You know what I mean? Sometimes he's wrong, but a lot of the times he's right. So the goat.
Snowbike Mike

That's what you wanted to add in the middle of the day? What do you mean we're in the day?
Roger Piccorni
Read as you're talking. You don't want me to mention it?
Snowbike Mike
When am I going to mention it?
Roger Piccorni
Where would you like me to mention it right before you're about to talk about our amazing sponsors and our producers.
Snowbike Mike
No, I'm not there yet. I'm not there yet.
Roger Piccorni
All right, where are you then?
Snowbike Mike
I'm at. If you're a kind of funny member, today's Greg Way.
Roger Piccorni
Oh, okay, Wait. Tell me, tell me about the Greg Way.
Snowbike Mike
I don't know about the Greg Way. It's not on the docket. But I will tell you this. It will be Greg in his car talking about something very important. What is that? Tune in to find out. Thank you to our thank you to our friends who support us over on Patreon. Our Patreon producers for the month, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Factor Shady Rays and Aura Frames. But I'll tell you all about that later. Let's jump in with what is and forever will be the Roper reports. It's time for some news. We have six stories today, Baker's dozen. Story number one, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons is leaving after nearly a decade. This coming from Jordan Midler at vgc. Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has announced that he is leaving the company after almost a decade. Quote, after more than two decades of helping build this incredible studio, establishing the Bungee foundation and growing inspiring communities around our work, I have decided to pass the torch, parsons wrote in a message announcing his departure. This journey has been an honor of a lifetime. I'm deeply proud of the world we've built together and the millions of players who call them home. And most of all, I am privileged by the opportunity to work alongside the incredible minds at Bungie. End quote. Justin Truman, the studio's chief development officer, will take his place. Parsons originally joined Bungie in 2002, working as an executive producer on Halo 2 and Halo 3. He would ascend to his current role as CEO in 2016. Roger, hi. We got some movement here under the Bungee umbrella and of course under the Sony umbrella as well. Pete Parsons stepping down and leaving, passing the torch onto someone new. What's the thoughts here?
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, my first thought was that was he forced out? Like what was the behind the scenes? Because we've seen what is happening with Marathon and kind of that game coming out and having this big moment and then completely reeling back, like going right back into hiding. And then also, also of course, all of the scandals when it came to the art and the design of that. But then I wanted to bring up another news story really quick from Paul Tassi over at Forbes, who is hot on the Beat when it comes to Destiny and Bungie in general. And when this is. This article is great. You should read it. Go over to Forbes and read it. But specifically the part over here that says, however, the narrative that because the studio. Because of the studio's problems. Sorry. However, the narrative that because of the studio's problems, Parsons was just forced out by Sony is almost certainly not the case. It is overwhelmingly likely that this is the result of the Sony deal to purchase Bungie. That purchase saw vested stock deals for executives and Bungie veterans that were usually in either three years or five years, meaning those with deals could walk away with a big goodbye package of millions or tens of millions after that point in time, if that's what Parsons just did, that is easily tens of millions. So that is Politici's theory right there, that this is a kind of him staying on board to get that vested stock situation and leaving to get millions and millions of dollars in his pocket. Of course, that is not confirmed, but that is seemingly the way that the wind is blowing right here, at least according to Paul Tassi. Yeah, I mean, another. He can drive off and drive as many, many cars during his time of retirement. But I sincerely hope that this is a new page for Bungie, that this is a moment where they can listen to the community, because clearly the community is very happy about this. You can see if you go on the Reddit threads, if you go on R Destiny, they're very happy that he is leaving the post and they are hopeful potentially that this next person that's coming up now can listen to the community and kind of right the ship a little bit. But I don't know, man, I'm very. If I were to, if I were to be a betting man, I'm not very hopeful when it comes to the future of Bungie, specifically with now them basically being a Sony studio. It's just they've. They've lost a lot of the juice. They've lost a lot of the allure of what made Bungie Bungie. And I want them to kind of regain that magic. I just don't think we're in a right place for Sony specifically to give them that autonomy to do that. So I don't think that's what's going to happen in the future.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, interesting stuff right there, Roger. Yeah, we talk about now we shift gears to the future of Bungie, right. And what those projects will be. Justin Truman now stepping in as the, you know, new torch bearer here. And you look at what Bungie's established Himself on it is Destiny with this live service game. Now we look towards Marathon. That had a very rocky launch here of like, hey, we're talking about this. We're putting it in beta. Okay. We're getting a lot of feedback. It doesn't seem like it's the movement. Let's come back and figure out where we want to be for when we actually launch this game. And so right now you kind of have Bungie at its weakest stage right now. Destiny, of course, still has a incredible fan base that is looking for more Destiny. They're happy. They continue to get more Destiny, but there's of course, more you could do for that Marathon on the other side. Extraction shooters, a very tough market to be in. And then you bring up a great part of. Now Sony's in the mix. Right. So, like, what is Justin's true role here of overseeing Bungie but also answering the Sony and working with Sony Here we look at Xbox and those acquisitions. Right. With of course Bethesda and Todd Howard. Right. And giving them kind of the freedom to still be Bethesda while also being with Microsoft. Did they get that over on this Bungie side or is it a little bit different here moving forward?
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, for sure. I. The Bethesda side of things is such a unique studio and the amount of brands that they have and the fact that Zenimax as a whole is a publisher, it is something unique that has so many things going on for it. Where Bungie right now. Yeah. Is just in a precarious situation where right now PlayStation is clearly pulling back from their live service push. Right. They had this very bullish on it. They have new leadership now. They're like, ah, maybe this is not the way to go about it. Of course, with Concord canceling multiple live service games, it puts Bungie in this moment where they either have to deliver when it comes to Marathon. Excuse me. Or they are just going to become another support studio. And I don't. I don't want that to happen. I don't want that to happen to them.
Snowbike Mike
Kyle L. Writes in with a $5 super chat and says Bungie. Just a little quick bungee points here. Pete Parsons title was CEO. Justin's title is studio head. Sony assuming more direct control over Bungie here.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, that makes sense.
Snowbike Mike
So a big one there, of course. Justin, best of luck to you. Congratulations on your new role. Hope all the best for you and really hope all the best for Bungie. Right. As a consumer and a gamer, I really have loved all of Bungie's work. From Halo into Destiny. Right. I was someone who liked a lot of what I saw from Destiny. The Extraction. It's off the top of my head now. Destiny Extraction, Extraction Game Marathon.
Roger Piccorni
Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I dropped it out of my mind real quick. I liked it Marathon when we played the big three out of that, Me, Andy and Nick. And so I'm hoping that they can figure this out and land that. Right. And so Justin has a big role to step into that will be exciting. He has a lot of background here if you read the big X posts. And of course, Blue Sky. Justin seems to be very excited about working so long here at Bungie and now taking on this role.
Roger Piccorni
Studio head. Yeah, I mean, yeah, we're. We're going to see. I'm. I'm interested to see. There's always the. What was it? The recently it was like, oh, is Marathon canceled? I don't think that's ever. Marathon's gonna come out. It's just a matter of. Does it. You do think so?
Snowbike Mike
Well, I'm giving you the look like you think, Roger. Really? Yeah. I mean, I've. I've gone on record many of times of, like, if I could wave the magic wand, Marathon would be canceled. We would be focusing on moving into Destiny 3, and we would continue to Destiny 2, but we would be moving into, like, I need to give the player base and like, I need to bring in new and old returning fans with a new title, Destiny 3.
Roger Piccorni
Well, I mean, I think that's already in the works. Right. Like, they can't just be all hands on deck for just Marathon and then keeping up of Destiny 2. I feel like there has to be.
Snowbike Mike
What if it's something brand new? What if we move away from Destiny?
Roger Piccorni
I mean, either way, what I'm saying is, like, Marathon. Marathon is not the thing holding back the studio.
Snowbike Mike
Right.
Roger Piccorni
Like, if Marathon comes out and it flops, I mean, that. That changed a lot of things. But either way, like, Marathon is not the thing. If we cancel it now, we get Destiny 3. Now we get the new IP the. On something else. They have to be thinking about what that future.
Snowbike Mike
But we do cut a lot of time and resources out of supporting Marathon, and we can at least focus more of the ship on that. But yeah, Roger, you are probably right. We will see Marathon in some sort of way, shape or form, and no matter how long its lifespan is, three months, six months, a year, five years, it will somehow come out. It's. It's got to at this point.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
So we'll see. It's going to be exciting times.
Roger Piccorni
But of course traction shooters man.
Snowbike Mike
Pete Parsons, enjoy your big payout. Hopefully if that's the truth on that one. And we'll see you later. Story number two DC head James Gunn teases new future for WB Games with some bigger things now in early stages this coming from Michael Cripe at IGN DC Studios co CEO and Superman director James Gunn sends Big things are in store for Warner Bros. Games, but it's going to take a while to see them come to fruition. The comic book bigwig spoke about his plans to expand the DC universe during an interview with Games Radar.
Roger Piccorni
Plus the comic book Big wig. I like that that we gotta start calling people big wigs. I like that we gotta bring that back.
Snowbike Mike
That's fire as Gun co CEO Peter Safra or Asgun co CEO Peter Saffron and the rest of the DC Studios crew plot plot a new course for DCU shows and movies the Superman movie maker says he has no plans to leave gaming out of the equation. Quote there's been some, there's been some slight movement on different things, gun teased. We have a couple of little DC games coming out, but we also have talked about and in early stages of planning some bigger things. One thing in particular I'm excited about, but it does take time. There's been some changes in Warner Bros. Games and so we're dealing with new people, end quote. Those changes he's referring to have been unraveled throughout the last year or so and have been and have seen WB games shifting its focus to four key franchises. Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, DC and Game of Thrones. It's a fundamental change to how Warner Bros. Is looking to the future following massive losses tied to Rocksteady Studios, Suicide Squad, Kill, the Justice League, as well as the underperformance and eventual shutdown of multi verses Guns Gun teases things are finally in motion at wb, but declined to share what kind of DC project fans can expect to see in the future. However, Games Radar plus adds that the director teased that there is a good chance Superman star David Chronoset could reprise his role for a video game. Roger.
Roger Piccorni
It'S interesting because he says little things right? So my brain.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, okay, really quick. He says we got some little things on right now. You have Lego Batman that looks so.
Roger Piccorni
For some reason my brain, let's give some love to that interpreted like the little things as him being like oh like maybe we got like a bunch of little indie studios to make. I'm like oh like no, no. He's just Talking about LEGO Batman. That's exactly like Roger. Don't even get excited for yourself. Like, there's no DCU thing that he's making. That isn't the big triple A thing that he's talking about. Yeah, he's talking about LEGO Batman. That sucks that he's calling a little thing. But I mean to hit. I guess from his point of view of like his involvement with it. I'm sure his involvement is. Oh yeah, you can get xyz, Batsuit or whatever it is, right? Like that's his little thing. Is that his involvement?
Snowbike Mike
Let me tell you a quick secret. Take that as a wind under your belt, James.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, exactly like.
Snowbike Mike
Like that shit. I'd be like, hey, we got something.
Roger Piccorni
Just like you also took under your belt, like the Flash. And then you said that it wasn't part of the D.C. dCU or any. Any there was. You had no involvement in it after it bombed. But then you also took under your belt the Penguin after did do really well. Like just take the win, take the wins, take the LEGO Batman. Win is for what it is. I'm so interested to see what that big thing is that's in. That's an early development, right? My brain, of course, goes to Superman, right? Like, is he finally doing it? Is he finally making the Superman game? Is he. Is that what he wants to get.
Snowbike Mike
Superman in a Superman game?
Roger Piccorni
Or is he just co opting or working with Rocksteady on whatever their next Batman game is? Because that would be the simplest way to kind of connect these universes a little bit here. Maybe it's not a next Arkham game. Maybe he is. They are working on a separate Batman thing that is developed by Rocksteady, that it has James Gunn's involvement that is connected to the dcu. I don't know, but I kind of find it hard to think about where the video game aspect of this connects to the dcu when the DCU is this kind of ever expanding, kind of changing thing. And we already see it right now as it's like as Superman was. The original slate of stuff was announced, right? A few years ago now, two years ago now, when he was like, hey, we're doing the Gods and Monster Saga. Here's all the projects that are in the works. How that has already changed, right? Like not dramatically, but like he was like, hey, we're going to do the Authority movie. We're going to do Swamp Thing. You know, what are all these things that like he said he was going to do, but then now it shifted a Little bit. Right. We're not doing Authority. We're probably not doing Swamp Thing unless James Mangold, you know, finds time so to now have this pillar of gaming that you're trying to connect into the dcu that is such a slow moving thing and needs to kind of be consistent. You can't just be changing games, stories and, you know, it's not free flowing like a movie or like a TV series where you can kind of retcon things and kind of be a little bit more agile, where video game. No, you need to kind of have that vision here. You need to know what you're doing.
Snowbike Mike
You kind of have to find your foundation, your staples and stick to them. Yeah.
Roger Piccorni
So I'm interested to see where he's coming because I would love a DCU game, like a full on. Like this is connected to the movies, to the TV shows, to everything. And this is a video game that takes place in James Gunn's universe. That's what I want. I. The more I think about it, especially if he's talking about this is a big thing, I just don't know if that's possible or if that's doomed even. I don't know, maybe call me a doomer, but like that's, that's a little scary to me. There's a reason why Kevin Feige hasn't looked around and said we need to make a video game that's in the mcu. I'm sure he's thought about it, right? They have a Disney whole section of video games. Right. I'm sure he's had the conversations with people. It just probably doesn't make sense with the way that the MCU is built out.
Snowbike Mike
Very well said on that, Roger. Thinking about the future and the timing of it all, of course, super chat away with some of your DC superheroes, your dream games that you'd love to see. And if you're watching later on, let us know in the comments below because, yeah, Roger, have a big set of it. Peacemaker now returning for season two last night. Yeah, John Cena, fantastic stuff. I'm sure people would love to see more out of that universe. And how do you make that a game? Of course, you go down the list, right. And I think, yeah, Roger, when you think of game development, meaning the movies that James Gunn is trying to create and the timing that it would all take, right. You kind of have to go on to like the known ones that are gonna be around for the long times, the Batman, the Superman, and just say, how do we just stick with Those and make those great. Right? Because yeah, I want a static shock game. Are we getting static shock? Absolutely.
Roger Piccorni
Technically, static shock is not technically a DC character. So that's, that's also another thing that's talking.
Snowbike Mike
How do we play this? Right? I want Green Arrow, Oliver Queen. We're not, we're not getting a Green Arrow game. Right. So, yeah, we're probably sticking with the big dogs and we always go back to sorry. No. How do you make a great Superman game?
Roger Piccorni
Sure.
Snowbike Mike
Can you do that?
Roger Piccorni
You know the fun thing about the dcu, as I talk through this, because I'm very passionate about this, clearly. I love James. I'm so excited for what he's doing here. The interesting thing about it is that he's already teased and shown in Superman in the hall of justice, like there's a past year, there's a bunch of superheroes that have existed in the past. That is an easy way to go about this, right, Is to do a full on prequel video game that takes place in maybe in the 70s and the 60s and in a time period that does not connect to the movies or connects very lightly to the movies. And you show a group of heroes. Right. Is that exciting though? I don't know. Like, is it like, you know what I mean? Like, if you want a video game, you're spending hundreds of million dollars on a video game. You want Wonder Woman, you want Batman, you want Superman, you want Green Lantern, you want these big franchise leads you don't want to have. Okay, here's Gunsling and fucking, I don't know, Zathura. Like, you don't want those to be the main, you know, sorry to all the fans, but like, you know, whatever. But I don't know, it's, it's an interesting balance, but I'm excited to see this because he's a. James Gunn is a video game guy. He loves video games. He helped to write or he, he was the writer of Chainsaw Lollipop. Big gamer. He loves this stuff. So I don't doubt that he's ever going to be a part of this and he's, he's going to try to make it happen. But I just doubt that video games are going to easily connect it to his universe in the way that he's creating it right now.
Snowbike Mike
I like, over in the YouTube chat right now we have the big three. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna.
Roger Piccorni
I said Zatura. I love that movie.
Snowbike Mike
Of course, JB writes in with a super chat, says, I want Batman beyond games. Do it. Gun of Course, Batman beyond the future of that, what that could really look like. But yeah, this is great to hear. James Gunn wants to be involved and think about the gaming side of things as well. We know that WB is going through some stuff right now. So yeah, WB definitely needs a win under their belt and wants it to be one of their big four for sure. Right. So we have plenty of Game of Thrones mobile games. Love a real game, but like, yo, shout out to the mobile games and then like on the other side. Right. Mortal Kombat, you know, will be around. I'm sure there will be an easy layup of DC justice superhero characters on either DLCs or if you do get injustice going, that would be great. Right. You could definitely work with them on creating a fun crossover story there. That would be fantastic.
Roger Piccorni
A multiverse thing.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. I mean, we'll see more from this, but it's nice to know that he's thinking about that and wants to do some good stuff over there.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. I mean, because that was in the beginning of his like, thesis statement for this. He said video games and we all kind of looked at each other like, oh, what could that mean? But it's like, you know, now we're three, two to three years into this experiment. Right. It's. If it's slow moving, then it's not gonna see this for another five, six years. It's gonna be a while.
Snowbike Mike
We'll cross our fingers, of course. Don't worry. We have more stories right after a word from our sponsors.

Happy Halloween.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, Happy Halloween. It's coming soon. Think about your costume.
Roger Piccorni
Think about your costume.
Snowbike Mike
Think about your costume. Now.
Roger Piccorni
I already know.
Snowbike Mike
What if you and I do a couple's costume? Little team up costume.
Roger Piccorni
What was the team up idea? What do you want to do?
Snowbike Mike
Well, I mean we have Omega Buster writing in with a ten dollar super chat and says, have they reached out for a Mike and Roger superhero team up game? Ah, if you would like in your background of your Superman game, maybe like, oh, it's Superman. And Mike goes, hey, that's Cronin sweat. We're available. We're available anytime. Of course. We also have one more super chat coming in when we talk about DC Super Games. We have Shark89 writing and says reverse bully style RPG with Clark Kent coming into his powers as a kid. Assign points as he learns his powers save people farm.
Roger Piccorni
I like the idea of a reverse bully game.
Snowbike Mike
He's protecting the kids, but he's also learning his powers. He punched one kid too hard and he was like, oh man, I gotta control my powers.
Roger Piccorni
I know. For some reason every time I think about like a reverse thing, I think about the complete opposite. So it's like I guess he has hair. Yeah. He's not bald. He's not really.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, you're thinking like a Billy Madison. All of a sudden he's just old man Superman inside of the height school.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Punching kids. I love that.
Roger Piccorni
Corn and sweat.
Snowbike Mike
Let's jump to story number three. Roger is very pumped up about this. We are going to live react to the Splinter Cell death watches trailer.
Roger Piccorni
Nope. Oh yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Death watch.
Roger Piccorni
Death watch. Kevin, we ready for this? There we go.
Snowbike Mike
We're on dudes. Splinter Cell death box.
Roger Piccorni
I'm excited. I've been. I've been waiting for this one.
Snowbike Mike
Brought to you by Netflix. We're going to tell you all the details after.
Roger Piccorni
Brought to you by Netflix.
Snowbike Mike
But it's made by Netflix.
Roger Piccorni
Okay. Yeah, it just sound like it was sponsored by Netflix.
Snowbike Mike
Brought you by Netflix.
Roger Piccorni
There we go.
Snowbike Mike
Do we have an eye on the target sound effect? The green Netflix. And is pretty don't have much time from the writer and creator of John Wick. What was that? He's choking people out.
Roger Piccorni
Please respond.
Snowbike Mike
Dodging bullets. I'm here. You're a hard man to reach.
Roger Piccorni
Sam Fiser.
Snowbike Mike
He's murdering people in the darkness. This mission is personal. Either you do this with me or I do it alone. They have Saber Tooth as Sam Fisher.
Roger Piccorni
All right, there's a little bit too many. There's a little bit too many. A little bit too many of the. What do you mean?
Snowbike Mike
The little. The little night vision beeps.
Roger Piccorni
They're playing that.
Snowbike Mike
I liked it.
Roger Piccorni
That. Like, it's a drop.
Snowbike Mike
It's an EDM drop.
Roger Piccorni
That's crazy. When it happened twice, I was like, there's no way they're gonna do it more than twice. Keep up. Keep that on the background. Like, just loop it and mute it because I want to keep on looking at that.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, give me your thoughts. That's your first thought of Splinter Cell Death Watch. Going to Netflix.
Roger Piccorni
Disappointed in the 3D animation. Didn't expect that. When we. When we keep on. When we saw, like, all of the images, it seemed like it was going to be like a fully 2D style thing, like, almost like A Devil May Cry. It has this weird. It reminds me of. Yeah, it's a 3D CGI type thing that is mimicking 2D. I don't love that art style. I mean, some moments look good, but it's just not. I'm sure maybe in motion. When I watch an entire episode, it'll, like, kind of just glaze over. But when I see this shirt, I'm like, okay, this is not. This is not really doing it for me in terms of the art style and the animation, rather. But I like Sabertooth Liev Schreiber as the voice actor. Honestly, he sounds good to me. He sounds like he could be the next Sam Fisher. Now, if they wanted him in the booth, if. If they wanted to kind of. If Michael Ironside wanted to kind of give up and say, hey, I want. I want to just go into retirements, he would be a good place person to replace him for sure, because he has that. That voice. He. When you close your eyes, you're like, yep, that's Sam Fisher for sure. Yeah, I. I'm interested in this. I like that they're going for an older Sam Fisher. It seems like we're. I'm sure they're gonna pick and choose what the canon is with the games and everything, but I like that they're going for an older, grizzled Sam Fisher. That could hopefully be kind of like the ending of this storyline and be like that canonical thing for us fans, and then hopefully the remake kind of just goes in a different direction. But, yeah, I enjoyed that. That was cool. I'm gonna watch the. Out of that. And, man, the. Even the sound effect in the beginning with the person calling him over the phone and you hear it, like, that's the exact sound effect, man. Man, it's so funny. Like, how. How deep of a splinter cell nerd I am, because it is. Ever since I was like, four years old, I've been playing these games and watching them. So, man, I'm excited.
Snowbike Mike
What do you think about his ponytail slash man bun? Pretty hot, right?
Roger Piccorni
I. I don't. The ponytail doesn't. The ponytail doesn't hurt me at all. I like the ponytail. Ponytail is cool. The. The bushiness of the beard. A little. A little Santa Claus.
Snowbike Mike
Like, he shaves it down halfway through the trailer.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, just a little bit. A little too bushy. A little too bushy for me.
Snowbike Mike
Roger, when you go dark and you have to get off the grid, there is no going into a grocery store buying a razor and shaving cream. You got to get kind of. You got to. Got to get. Get out there.
Roger Piccorni
He can cut it, though. He has scissors. You don't think he has scissors?
Snowbike Mike
No, he doesn't have scissors. Scissors. No, no. He has a knife.
Roger Piccorni
He would never have a scissor. He would never have a scissor.
Snowbike Mike
Roger. Some details coming from ign, the show written by Derek Kad, the creator of John Wick, appear appears to set after the events of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, as the trailer shows the funeral of Sam's former comrade in arms, Douglas Settlin, who Sam killed in the game.
Roger Piccorni
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Snowbike Mike
And then, of course, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Death Watch launches on Netflix October 14th.
Roger Piccorni
Coming up.
Snowbike Mike
Roger, you have, like, just over a month before this drops before.
Roger Piccorni
Before we watch this, and then it just never gets another season because no one's going to watch this. It's going to be me. No, no one's.
Snowbike Mike
I'm watching this. I'm pumped for this. I like Netflix anime video games that they've been coming out with. I've liked all of them.
Roger Piccorni
Is, does this got the stuff like A Devil May Cry? I don't think it got the stuff like A Devil May Cry in terms of, like, an IP and, like, the excitement behind this. Like, when Devil May Cry was announced, I saw people that, like, are the, like, literally just know the character of Dante. We're like, I'm in, right? Like, we're going. We're doing this. But when it comes to Splinter Cell, people, like, actually are excited for this. Maybe it's the John Wick name. They'll get people excited about it. I don't know.
Snowbike Mike
Of course, if you Are watching live. Super. Chat away. Let us know if you're excited for this. Roger, there's hundreds of Sam Fisher super fans out there. Okay.
Roger Piccorni
I'm one of them. I know, I know. I see them at the conventions every month.
Snowbike Mike
We give it out. We go. Whenever you see each other.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. They really milked the out of that. That was crazy. It's like we got one thing. We got one thing for common fans.
Snowbike Mike
That's all they know about splinter cells, so they have to do that.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, I. It's. I saw somebody in the chat saying that Sam Fisher is a clean cut guy. This is not canon. That is not true. Because he does have a little bit of a beard going on there in the canceled Splinter Cell Conviction version of the game. But yeah, I get where you're saying he does feel like a clean cut guy. So it just feels a little wrong. But I'm down for it. I'm excited for it. Do we know how many episodes there are? Probably like six or eight or something like that. Something.
Snowbike Mike
It's probably eight to ten.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
It's usually the window of these things. Eight to ten.
Roger Piccorni
A small amount of thing. Yeah, we'll say. I'm interested. Are you? So you're gonna watch this?
Snowbike Mike
I'm 100 watching this. Roger. I am a sucker for any. Like I said, anytime Netflix puts out a video game, anime, I've usually jumping in and watching it no matter what.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
And so, yeah, I'm a sucker for this stuff because I want more of this.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I'm into this.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
And I hope that we get a second season.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. They also had the trailer for Devil May Cry. Season two came out, but I didn't watch season one, so I don't want to watch it.
Snowbike Mike
Really?
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, I need to watch it. I watched the first episode. I liked it.
Snowbike Mike
You played out of my Cry.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I beat three this time.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, you did.
Snowbike Mike
I beat three this year.
Roger Piccorni
And by Devil May Cry, I played the Team Ninja 1. People don't like you.
Snowbike Mike
Okay. Okay. That's cool. Yeah. Exciting stuff. Exciting stuff to keep on your radar. October, right around the corner, of course. Reminder, October 14th for that with your Netflix subscription. If you're tuning in and watching Sam Fisher and the Squad, we have a super chat coming in from Kessel Wings that says Roger's ad read has me smiling every time. His delivery in the first person is so cutesy that I can hear him say ooh at the end of it. Much love.
Roger Piccorni
I did say UWU in between every take. I had to cut it out.
Snowbike Mike
Thanks for that Kessel Wings. Of course. Super chat away. Let us know if you'll be watching the Splinter Cell anime coming out very, very soon. Let's move on to story number four. Division two Survivors has been announced. This coming from the Ubisoft blog post. The Division 2 survivors will bring an updated take on the survival extraction experience to the Division 2. Development of the Division Survivors is currently in early stages under the leadership of Magnus Jensen as Creative Director, a veteran of the division from the early days of the original game. Quote the Division 2 survivors is a is as much your baby as it is ours and we strive for the transparency during its development. Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey. End quote, said Julian Gertrude. I always mess that one up. Executive Producer, we will have more to share with you soon, but until then, here's a peek at the logo and a few new pieces of concept art. Roger, Division 2.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, never played it, never played it. But I'm very interested that this continues to be updated and supported. That's really awesome.
Snowbike Mike
You always. You're missing out on a great one. The Division two is great.
Roger Piccorni
I just, I. Yeah, I just wasn't there in the beginning so I just feel like I could never jump back because I don't have my crew.
Snowbike Mike
No better time to jump into the Division 2 than right now. That's what they always say. Yeah. This is a exciting wild one. Of course my Division one time was spent in the Dark Zone. It was a special time of like that was my first time ever dipping my toe into a extraction type gameplay, extraction shooter of course of like jumping into the Dark Zone, trying to get items and then you got to extract out with them safely to earn those. And the idea that we will see this survival extraction experience come to the Division 2 is exciting. The unfortunate part, Roger, is I haven't played the Division 2 in years since launch. I'm always stunned whenever we read a new story that the Division 2 is still getting updates and still getting love. I know it is a massive title for Ubisoft. It is one of those foundational tent poles that like they need to survive and continue on. So it's a big deal. I just. I don't know who's playing this besides Andy Cortez.
Roger Piccorni
It's crazy. I'm looking at the Steam DB charts right now. 4000 people are playing it right now, which is like. Sounds minuscule and it's pretty. That's Pretty good for a game of this. Of this. You know how old it is and also how many games there are on Steam. There is a core audience of people that are playing this game. This is just on Steam, by the way. Right. That doesn't include Ubisoft Connect or console or whatever. So there's a decent amount of people playing this game right now as we speak. I'm just interested as to like, is, are we not making three? I'd like, are we not making Division three? Is there a reason why they're continuing to update just this one? Because they'd have the audience and they just want to keep them engaged. Division three seems like something that I would have assumed would have happened already.
Snowbike Mike
Alex Frazier writes in with the $5 super chat and says super chatting, because I'm shocked to hear that people still play the division. Yeah, as are we. As we're a little shocked on that one. I don't know the answer, Roger. I think, of course, Ubisoft is going through a lot right now. We also, of course, seen Star wars get developed. Right. As well. I think that came from Ubisoft Massive.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. And they also did the Avatar Game. Right.
Snowbike Mike
And so, yeah, I think there's a lot of other things going on there, but the division is one of their titles that will continue to get love. I. I wonder when you rip that band aid off, Roger, and go to the Division 3 similar talking about Destiny 2, right. You look at these games that, hey, we've had a long run. It is time to go. Can you tell me what year the Division 2 came out? Maybe it has more legs than we actually think, Raj.
Roger Piccorni
Division two. Oh, let me Google it. Because I don't know if it came to Steam division to release date was 2019.
Snowbike Mike
It says 2019. People are typing in 2017. 2019.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah. 2019 is what I'm seeing on Google right now.
Snowbike Mike
So that March 15, 2019, we're going into year number six on that one, Raj. So you have. You got a little bit of time on this one, but also there could. You could be slowing down for sure. But we'll see what this brings in. Right. Extraction Shooter. If you know the Dark Zone, you're probably excited, but is this something where you go as a casual fan? Oh, this is what I want. This is what I need. But they're complimenting a lot more added story stuff. We just talked about the Brooklyn DLC that Andy was really excited to jump into. So they're giving you more division and more ways to play than ever. So, like this is a good thing if you're a Division 2 fan because you have a lot to play.
Roger Piccorni
Will you play me?
Snowbike Mike
Will I show you the Division 2? No. But Andy. I'm gonna force Andy to. I thought you were playing Pokemon. I'm very busy. Roger. Don't.
Roger Piccorni
I thought. I thought I was your 1.2. You're gonna send your 1.1 to do do what a 1.0 should have done.
Snowbike Mike
That's crazy, Roger. Let's go to story number five. Silksong is out soon and indie games are getting out of the way. This coming from Jay Peters at the Verge. We have some delays being announced Yesterday, Hollow Knight, Silksong developers Team Cherry announced a September 4th release date for the long awaited game and indie developers are announcing delays to get out of the way of the launch. Silksong is a full sequel to the excellent Hollow Knight and is currently the most wish listed game on Steam, so it's likely going to be very popular when it finally is available. Panic Arcade, which was set to release its hellish gambling roguelike clover pit on September 3, has pushed the game's launch to September 26. Tell Games, which was planning to launch the adventure RPG Faeland out of early access on September 9, is postponing the release and plans to share a new date soon. And Ethereum Game Studios, which is developing a 2D side scrolling game focused on combat and exploration called A Turn on Eternan Eternal. Thank you. Is postponing its planned Super September launch to sometime in 2026 because the game wouldn't have the visibility it deserves. Roger. Yeah, delays getting out of the way.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, I mean it makes sense. It's shot. The more I think about it, the more I'm like, I'm sure these indie developers are thankful that Hollow Knight didn't just drop randomly and like kind of like fuck. They gave a date. They say the date. They said get out of the way. You have two weeks. Get out the way. So shout out to specifically the one game that I recognize here is the Clover. Yeah, Clover Pit, developed by Panic Arcade. They're the people that did Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom. So this is their little smaller title that is legitimately one of the most wish listed games on Steam right now.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Roger Piccorni
So this game is a big deal for them. So them getting out of the way of Hollow Knight makes a lot of sense. And yeah, I'm. I hope these games find their place and if they are able to get out of the way of Hollow Knight, they're going to be just fine.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. That's a tough one, Roger, because of course all these indie games are really battling for your attention and just trying to have you see them in the visibility is a big one. I think that's the one, that final one being delayed to say, hey, we need, we need the visibility this game deserves is a big one because we're only going to be talking about Hollow Knight Silk Song for that week leading up to it. The week after it, you get a moment. Yeah. Much time away from you, from this. As you can see, of course, Team Cherry giving you the announcement. So now you have some time to move. These indie games are going to try to find their space later on in the month, which is smart and a good move right there.
Roger Piccorni
Hell yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, Roger, Team Cherry finally releasing Hollow Knight Silk Song is big news. But if I didn't want some big news, I want something smaller. Where would I go?
Roger Piccorni
You'd go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Snowbike Mike
Let's take it to the Wii News network. Roger. From Mario 64, Hollow Knight has reached an all time peak concurrent player count on Steam at 20,000 players after Silksong's September 4th release date announcements.
Roger Piccorni
Wow.
Snowbike Mike
Get your playthrough ready right now. Time to jump in. Should I play it, Roger?
Roger Piccorni
I think you should. You're not gonna beat it. By the time you could maybe if you really dedicate yourself. I don't think you're gonna beat Hollow Knight 1 before silksong.
Snowbike Mike
You don't think so, Rog? Yeah, I'm playing six hours of video.
Roger Piccorni
Games and it took me like 40 hours to beat Silksong. I mean, I'm Hollow Knight.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
So will I get lost? That's my only downfall. Yeah, I feel lost.
Roger Piccorni
You will, you will. But you have a chat if you're playing it with Chad.
Snowbike Mike
I just hate getting lost.
Roger Piccorni
I know. Me too.
Snowbike Mike
Because you know, I never get lost in real life. I don't use maps.
Roger Piccorni
I just go, you did get lost one time with me.
Snowbike Mike
I don't remember that.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, you took like a roundabout and you're like, I don't know where I am. We're gonna figure it out, Slappy. We ended up getting there 20 minutes late.
Snowbike Mike
From Gamutsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment has sold its stake in the Evolution Championship series to Nowadhin Gaming, a company backed by the PlayStation manufacturer's parent company, Sony Group Corporation, the organization announced.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, I saw this yesterday. I didn't put this in. I didn't know where to put this. I'm glad this is in WE News, because I'm like, I was very confused because it's like Sony owns part of Evo, and now they sold their part of Evo to another company that they're backing. So it's like. It just seems like a lateral move. I don't know. I don't know the business logistics of it. I don't think any. Anyone really understands it.
Snowbike Mike
Okay. Okay. Well, EVO out there. Evo had a great weekend. A lot of fun to watch.
Roger Piccorni
Was EVO last weekend a couple weeks ago?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. Yeah. A Persona crossover is coming to Overwatch 2.
Roger Piccorni
Huge.
Snowbike Mike
Tell Andy.
Roger Piccorni
Tell Andy.
Snowbike Mike
Big deal.
Roger Piccorni
He loves Persona 5.
Snowbike Mike
This gets you excited at all? No. What's your dream crossover.
Roger Piccorni
In general?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. Batman. It's probably Ice Spice coming to Fortnite.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, that was actually pretty sick. No Yakuza in Fortnite. That's my answer.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, that's a good one.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, that was leaked forever ago. It's never happened. What the Is happening. I want the Simpsons too, but the Simpsons.
Snowbike Mike
Okay. Bart Bounty Star launches October 23rd on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Also, Game Pass, day one. So there's a fun one coming.
Roger Piccorni
You seem like a guy that would have said, eat my shorts a lot. From Bart Simpson of the Simpsons.
Snowbike Mike
You know what? Even hearing Bart say that back in the day, Roger, it was still like, no one says that.
Roger Piccorni
People said it.
Snowbike Mike
Eat my shorts.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah, people said it.
Snowbike Mike
I wasn't around anybody saying that.
Roger Piccorni
You weren't around the cool kids.
Snowbike Mike
I wasn't getting detention. That's why. Oh, yeah, you were a good boy. Kingdom come, Deliverance 2 DLC Legacy of the Forge launches September 9th. So get ready to jump into DLC number two. Roger. That wraps up the WE News Network. Let's check some super chats. Let's check you're wrong, and let's get out of here.
Roger Piccorni
A lot of people saying that. Nobody said, eat my shorts, but I don't know. There's no. No one was around at that time to prove it.
Snowbike Mike
So historical document 1342 became a member for 34 months, almost three years of YouTube membership. Thank you so much for your support for becoming a YouTube member over there.
Roger Piccorni
Thank you.
Snowbike Mike
It says, thanks, Mike, for the follow on Twitter. You gave me the biggest smile ever. Shout out to Alex. Got a little Twitter follow today, making me smile.
Roger Piccorni
Oh, yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Every now and then, I like to get on Twitter. I press the button.
Roger Piccorni
Just press the button.
Snowbike Mike
As I said, give me your tweets.
Roger Piccorni
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Let me see what you're tweeting about Roger. Let's check you're wrong as we keep going on this show.
Roger Piccorni
Right now, we're right.
Snowbike Mike
I'm sure they're going to say, mike, you mispronounced that guy's name wrong.
Roger Piccorni
Ms. News. No. Roger quickly said that Splinter Cell Division was a canceled game, but it was actually a console exclusively. He may have never remake of the first game. No, no, I'm talking about the Portland cabin. It says, Roger quickly said that Splinter Cell Conviction was a canceled game, but it was actually a console exclusive for the 360 in April of 2010. He may have meant the remake of the first game that was only mentioned by Ubisoft Investor Scrolls. No, no, no, Portland Kevin, time yourself out. I'm talking about the canceled version of Splinter Cell Conviction where it was very heavily focused on social stealth like Assassin's Creed. So his whole idea was that he was going to have, like a beard and there was a Game Informer cover and he was going to hide in crowds. And it was like less of a traditional stealth game. It was more of him hiding in crowds and kind of doing that type of thing. He was like, off the grid and he had a little of a beard and longer hair and he looked younger. So, Portland Kevin, time yourself out. Wow, that's crazy. It's crazy. You come out.
Snowbike Mike
I would thank Portland Kevin because then you told all of us in the chat even more cool stuff about Splinter Cell.
Roger Piccorni
