Nerdy news, you need to know about fable. Art reveals glimpses of its world. Life is strange reunion has been revealed and Doug Bowser has a new job. We'll have all this and more because this is kinda fun and Games Daily Foreign. What's up everybody? Welcome to Kinda Funny Games daily for Tuesday, January 20, 2026. I'm one of your hosts, Greg Miller alongside Forbes 30 under 30 aka New York Game Awards nominated aka Leftover Poppy Blessing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Adioye Jr. All for Security when it comes to the Internet.
Greg Miller
Where are we going, everybody?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But why must this thing sign me out every five minutes? You know what I mean? Like, I'll be in the middle, I'll be about to start. It's always when I'm about to start KFG for some reason.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. Where it's like Google gives you the old boot.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Google's like, oh, do you want to sign back in? And I'm like, well, now I got to do this thing. And now I was in the middle.
Greg Miller
Of running through all the feudy responses and tabulating it when everything's like, logged me out. I was like, you son of a bitch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
God dang it. I know it makes us less safe, but how do we make it so that it never logs me out? At some point. At some point. I know that means that, you know, a robber will walk in and see my computer and be like, oh, let me get in his emails and scam everybody.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, email Paris and tell them to open up a PDF and it's not PDF and something weird. It's gonna destroy his computer.
Greg Miller
You know, Paris would do it too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But like, I feel like, you know, when you balance it out, I think it's worth it for me. Not.
Greg Miller
The other day, PlayStation did something like out of the blue that was like, I don't know what it is. If it's a passcode, it's an authenticator or whatever that they made me do. And I now I just have no idea. Like one day I'm gonna have to do it again. I'm like, I'm just never in my position again, apparently. I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I. On my. I don't know what you would call it. My. Me weaning off of Twitter.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know what I mean? One of the things that has really helped seal it in is that now for Twitter DMs, they're like, oh, put in a passcode. And I'm like, I'm not giving you.
Greg Miller
I'm not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. I'm already trying to not use this. And so now I'm just not going to use it for DMs. So if you DM me on Twitter, I'm probably not going to see it.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I'm sorry. Fair enough. Sorry. Hideo.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He's my.
Greg Miller
He's been telling me he's on bs. That's Blue Sky. Tim, tell me he's trying to DM you on Twitter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's a whole thing. Oh, well, I mean, DM me on Blue Sky. He doesn't like it.
Greg Miller
He doesn't like it because you can't authenticate with a phone number. Yeah. How are you? Bless.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm doing good. I'm doing a lot better than I was during the weekend.
Greg Miller
You were sick. I don't think we talked much about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I was sick. I've talked about it. I was on the show yesterday. I think I sounded even more sick than I do now. I still. You can still hear it in me.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I'm feeling a lot better. I'm feeling 100%, aside from the voicey. The voice and like, a little bit of mucus in there, but we're getting in there.
Greg Miller
Sure, sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. How are you doing? How are you feeling?
Greg Miller
Good. I'm ready to rock.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How come I'm the only person that caught Tim's sickness? We didn't talk about the fact that I definitely caught Tim.
Greg Miller
Well, yeah, I definitely blamed him. You are not as many people know. A young gentleman came to join us on our big stream and it was Fran Mirabella iii. Remember this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Greg Miller
And Fran has been sick since. No, he's been like, deathly ill. Like, give it, like, he'll. He's like, hey, did anybody else get sick? And Tim was like, I did. I was like, when Tim was down, he's like, oh, yeah, I'm down right now. He's like, oh, me too. And then Fran wrote in yesterday. I was like, you know, live. And so I was looking down at my thing and it was this message from Fran and Tim being like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry. I was like, what the fuck happened to Fran? And she's like, he's like super sick. Sinus infection all the way down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, me and Tim got the shots. Fran not into vaccines. I heard that's on him. That's on him.
Greg Miller
What a way to swing on Fran. It couldn't possibly be that Fran streams from his room all by himself all the time. He's not used to being around another human being.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I heard. Yeah, I just heard Anti Vax.
Greg Miller
That's Fran. Yeah, that's Fran. You know you hate to see it. You know what I mean? Vaccines are real, everybody. So it's the gaming news and we have so much to talk about. We'll run you all through because this is kind of funny Games Daily. I remember if you're watching live, be part of the show YouTube.com kind funny games. You can super chat to be part of the show as we go with your thoughts, your opinions, your abilities, your abilities. Life is strange if you have superhuman abilities. I need to know about them. You know what I mean? That's what I really need to know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because we've got to recruit them. I'm putting together a team.
Greg Miller
We got a lot to talk about when we get to Life is strange, don't we? We have a lot to talk about there. Of course there's plenty to talk about when it comes to Fable as well. Et cetera, et cetera. Thank you of course to our patreon producers on patreon.com kindafunny Karl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney. The Psalm Twining. We couldn't do this without support. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. Time for some new six items on the Roper Report.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A baker's dozen.
Greg Miller
Our first super chat comes from Highlanders Grim 0351 who says have a wonderful week everybody. It's too much. Start your time. Start it on time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I'd be able to see that super chat if only I didn't have to re log in to my. I'm just saying what's. What's like, you know, a scary email a few times a year that you just don't open, you know?
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I email you and I'm like, hey, I need help. Open up this file. You just don't open it.
Greg Miller
Yeah, just don't. That seems out of the ordinary. Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Plus I get alerted every time there's a phishing email sent and like there are two people who get them a lot. Am I one of them? Yeah, you both are them.
Greg Miller
Oh really? Me too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Oh, I never.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't never. I never see them.
Greg Miller
Good. My favorite one was just a couple days ago Andy got one and Andy reported it, which then similar pinging. Kevin pings me as well. Of like hey this. So then I forwarded it to Andy and I said don't click on this. And he goes no, I know, that's why I reported it. And then I said do not click on it. And then Andy got annoyed with me and then he sent me the AI overview of the conversation we had. They put it as often it goes Greg forwarded a high severity alert about user reported phishing from Kind of funny@nifty.com New bullet point Andy confirmed they were aware of the phishing because they were the user who reported it. Bullet point Greg instructed Andy to stop clicking the reported message how much how.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Often do you get reported about things.
Greg Miller
That we're doing in our emails? Oh, a lot. Well, I mean, I check into your emails too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you check into our emails.
Greg Miller
That's part of the deal.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But you can do that.
Greg Miller
That's part of the deal.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's the craziest thing you've seen in my email?
Greg Miller
You know, I don't want to get into it. Oh no. Instead we'll get into story number one Fable Reboot Concept Art Points to a large open World this is Tom Phillips@ign.com Concept art for Microsoft's upcoming Fable reboot has been shared online, showing what looks to be a large open world. The images originally highlighted by MP first reportedly originate from an unnamed artist who previously worked on the project at British development studio Playground Games. Man, I'm going to get every word wrong, apparently. Today, more than two dozen images show brooding fantasy landscapes that stretch off into the horizon, dilapidated thatched cottages in pastoral scenes, and familiar looking towns with spired roofs. Several images also make reference to Bloodstone, suggesting we'll see locations from past Fable games return. Overall, the images offer a slightly darker color palette than seen in Lionhead's original Fable trilogy, with moody skies and a rugged world that's reminiscent of Hogwarts Legacy. How big is Fable's new world? That remains to be seen, though perhaps it featuring large open spaces shouldn't be too surprising since it is being built on the same open world engine that powers Forza Horizon, albeit likely with fewer cars. Another set of art showcases a dank dungeon like area where water pours down through sewer like tunnels and as cages hang above, one particular image sees the hero confront a werewolf like creature as bodies hang in chains nearby. Damn, that's cool. While concept art naturally shows a work in progress look at a project, this werewolf encounter has popped up in a previous trailer. The hero figure used throughout the concept art also matches the character seen in trailers released over the last couple of years. The suggestion then is this vision of the game likely isn't too far off from the finished article. Though of course we'll be seeing much more of it later this week to find out for ourselves. Of course, IGN is hinting the Xbox Developer Direct happening Thursday, 10am that is two days from right now. We will be doing Gamescast as a live reaction to it. Paris will be here, Gary will be here. We will all be chilling in and watching it. Then we'll do a gamescast post show. Then we'll do Games Daily as usual. Blessing. Dre, where do you want to start? I mean, I have one of those like almost non stories, but then also. Yeah, there's a story here, but then also just Fable. Let's just talk about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I think this is just an excuse to talk about Fable. We're gonna see more Fable this week and Fable, seemingly going to be a big game to talk about this year, comes out.
Greg Miller
Xbox says they're just. I mean.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, but that's what they're going to.
Greg Miller
Developer Deck says they're focusing on games coming this year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, okay. Oh, so. Okay.
Greg Miller
They.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They have said it. You're a Fable person. You. I played it. Okay. What's. Tell me the tales of Fable. What's the. What's the vibe? Does this fit the vibe?
Greg Miller
This fits the vibe 100%. Do you want to know how desperate for Fable I am right now?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Greg Miller
I started Fable Anniversary last night.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, you did not.
Greg Miller
I did. I went and downloaded. Cuz I. I've been. I'm so ready again. The problem is, since we've come back, a little Na' Vi, like fairy. You know what I mean? Navi from Link. Not Navi, the blue people. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I would never think of that.
Greg Miller
Just make sure. Just make sure. Named Snowbike. Mike has been whispering in my ear, he's been putting the nectar in my ear that Fable's gonna be good. And I've refused to let myself believe.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I refuse. I think Fable's gonna be good.
Greg Miller
I don't wanna have high expectations for Fable. Cause I want Fable to fucking be amazing. So like I keep. It's like it's back to being a Chicago Bears fan. They're going to fucking shit. They're going to shit the bed so I don't have to worry about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's good to you? Like an 8 out of 10?
Greg Miller
I. I mean.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Or do you. Are you like, I need this to be a 10 out of 10.
Greg Miller
I don't need any I mean, I want every game to be a 10 out of 10.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
For Fable, like, I just feel I was having this. This is an interesting topic conversation. Fuck the show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He turned off the laptop.
Greg Miller
I feel like we are at a point right now in 2026 with Video Game IP, that when you're trying to do anything with a storied, beloved ip, you're just going to fail. And I don't think it's hard and fast, but I think of something like Dragon Age, valeguard. I think of these, you know, whatever's happening with Halo all the time, they.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Filled with veilguard and I. I enjoyed.
Greg Miller
Well, again, now you're into a very multifaceted conversation. Yeah, I loved valeguard. Guess what? I'm not a. I was never a Dragon Age fan. So the people who love Dragon Age were like, this fucking sucks. And then it's. EA sees it as a huge loss.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Mass Effect, right? Andromeda was not what the Mass Effect trilogy was. There's these things of trying to chase past glories that come with so much baggage. And so I'm lost right now. And you can help me out here with your super chats. I'm reopening this right. Of. What is the temperature on Fable? Fable is a beloved Xbox franchise, period. But do we have people actually played Fable? Like, are you a Fable person or is it just, you know, everybody loves Fable and now we all love RPGs and we, you know, I mean, the quaint things they were doing in this, of making a storybook, like RPG and horns coming out of your head. Like, everybody does that kind of shit now, right? So it's like, what are your expectations for this? What are the eyes to. I want this to be greater than any of us could have thought it was going to be. Because right now, yeah, I'm thinking it's Playground, a great developer. However, it's Playground, who usually does the car game coming in now and trying to take over this game that lion had used to do and Peter Molyneux, and there's a bunch of baggage locked up into that as well. Like, I just feel like right now you look at it and you go, yeah, this is probably going to be an 8, but what if it can come out and be a fucking nine? What if we can see it on Thursday? Holy shit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was going to say more of two thoughts. I'm on three thoughts. We need to get into that conversation. But to start with the two thoughts, I think two things can be true. I think people can make Fable into something Bigger than maybe it was, as far as the hype, as far as the anticipation for it. Because we're all children of the Internet and we're all people who engage in the video game discourse. And like, for me, as somebody who I've not played a Fable, I don't have a history with Fable. There's still a level of anticipation I have for the next Fable, because I know how people talk about Fable. People treat it like. Like it is this legendary fable. Right. Like there's this game that I know is coming out that a lot of people are looking forward to. Therefore I look forward to it. Right. We have that bandwagon mindset of it. So I think you're right in the sense of like, you know, is this game coming out as big as we're making it out to be, all that stuff. Right. But I also think that to my second thought, Fable seems like a game that you can bring back and make into that thing. Right. Like, it is a Western rpg. It is a game like my, my. The thing that I know about Fable is that it's whimsical. Yeah, it's whimsical. And then also has a morality system. Yep.
Greg Miller
To toss it in. Onimus prime super chats. Fable is humor and fantasy choices. Balvarines, marriage, buying property. And I think people underestimate how poised this is to be Xbox's best game. One of my favorite.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All of those things age well.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All of those things in 2026. And I think I. I think a Western RPG. Out of any. Out of all the genres, out of all the types of games you can bring back. All the things I know about Fable, I'm like, that. That sounds like a game that can be, like, great in 2026. Then I get to my third thought.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
When you talk about the review scores to it. When you talk. And then you can even throw out the review scores when you talk about how is this game actually going to be. I'm going to put my hater cap on.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think when I think of my last few years of Xbox games that I've looked forward to, that I've wanted to love, that I've wanted to come out and be a 9 out of 10. 10 out of 10. The only ones that have lived up have been Forza Horizon. Outside of that, I've stopped expecting a 9 out of 10 from Xbox games. I expect 8 out of 10. I expect great games. I expect good games. I also expect disappointments here and there. But I don't know if hoping Fable Ends up coming out as a 10 out of 10 is a wise thing to set yourself up with, I think.
Greg Miller
Well, that's my, I don't expect that. I want that. Does that make sense? Like, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That makes sense.
Greg Miller
But I think to sit here and read tea leaves and look into what Fable is and what Western RPGs are right now, I think there is fertile ground for them to capitalize on that and catch people off guard. I think when you watch the trailers we have seen in the Deep Dive and the giant who's in the. He was the comedian. He's from the show. I don't watch, but it crowd. Right. It wasn't that the guy. There's a, there's a British giant, right. That we saw her running around and fighting or whatever. Right. Or maybe he's the king. It doesn't matter. The level of humor they're putting in there. Like when you talk about the fantasy RPGs that are out there, what do you think of. Right. You think of Witcher.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Right. I'm gonna toss that out there. You think of, I would say games that are darker, that are more real, that you know what I mean? I think Fable leaning into that humor and not being a, or a slapstick comedy game, but being a whimsical. Hey, it is Jack and the Beanstalk come to life and you're. We're playing with the tropes and you're doing the thing and there's all the, like, there's a lot in there that I think, hey, the gameplay loop and mechanics you like from other games are here in a setting that is also enjoyable, that is as enjoyable. Not that dark fantasy can't be, but I mean like as smile inducing as the gameplay itself. And I feel like if you walk that line right, which is a line I think that Veil Guard went into at some points, but like that alienated the hardcore Dragon Age fan. If you can get that right here. I think you go above and beyond what we're seeing other people in the genre do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And I 100% agree with that. I, I, I think that's one of those things where to not, not that it's like I'm tired of Witcher and tired of that. Like it's not even that. It is that I think you have an opportunity with Fable to really stick out because of what you're talking about with I'll say jokes, but I mean, I guess tone, yeah. Level of writing all that stuff, I think helps separate it and to bring it Back around. Right. Like, I think I. I try to keep my expectations low. That way they have the opportunity to surprise me and blow me away. And I think the big thing that I am kind of excited for is that it is playground games.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The same studio that makes the game that I'm like, oh, yeah. Forza Horizon consistently comes out as a 9 or 10 out of 10 ask game.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Rabbit of Cancer Bog super chats and says, never played the OG Fable games. But I'm excited because it's playground games and we'll have British humor, which I vibe with.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes. You know how I also like British humor?
Greg Miller
Yeah. The Office really did things for us, you know what I mean? It really brought it over here that show the Dead the importance for me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'd say it's rare where I played them rare games back in the day, they always like put in them jokes. No, no.
Greg Miller
Shaun of the Day, it was Shaun of the Dead in the Office.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, in, in Jet Force Gemini, there's a level called Tophrit and it's like a nasty level, like zombies, all this shit. And it's an anagram. If you mix up the letters, it says wet fart. That's British humor for you.
Greg Miller
That's pretty funny British humor. Captain Coots says, I just replayed Fable anniversary last week and started Fable 2 yesterday. And man, the advancements between the two games is amazing. I'm excited for Fable this year only Special feature says Fable is the first RPG I beat and the memories playing are always with me. I played Fable 3 on my 21st birthday instead of drinking. That's how much I love this game. Please be good. Fable 4. And right there, something to piggyback at the end, I think also speaks to why I'm so cautious about it. It's not called Fable 4. It is not Fable 4. A lot of people and a lot of old heads are going to walk in expecting Fable 4. And I think as somebody who enjoys skate, who enjoyed Veilguard, like these games that are like, hey, it's not the thing it was before, but here it is. And I'm like, I am excited to eat that. And everyone's like, this is fucking dog shit. Okay. I don't know. Like, I don't know what the sacred fucking golden calfs are anymore in the Fable universe. That's going to piss off the Fable person. Because I played Fable in Parker's room, had a great time, had the horns, did the thing, thought. But like, I'm not. I can't sit here and tell you all about Fable. Like, I was playing it last night, starting it. I was like, oh, right. Like, I don't remember any of this. I must have jumped in on Parker Save doing whatever X, Y and Z.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So a game that came out recently that I. I didn't love, but I'm happy that it was. What it was is Dragon's Dogma 2 that came out and that was a weird hardcore action RPG that stuck by its systems that was like, hey, we can get all of your companions sick and they'll all die. Right? And it's like plague was spreading. And so that. That did not vibe with me, but the people who that vibed with it hit heavy with, I hope that's Fable. Like, I hope Fable sticks to all the things that, like, makes Fable. That makes Fable what it is. Because I think one thing, one of the things that gets lost in modernization is becoming homogenous with what's temporary. Contemporary. I was going to say temporary.
Greg Miller
I was like, that's not the right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I don't want that in the.
Greg Miller
Fucking Shot Bish borough. Let's hope we can change the appearance of the main girl or else you have to deal with this fucking shit. Or also have to deal with this fucking shit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, this woman's ugly.
Greg Miller
She's got hair on her face. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What are you talking about?
Greg Miller
That's game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's my thing with Dragon Age Veil Guard is I'm like, do people hate Dragon Age Dragon Age Veil Guard? Or did, like, did the hateful people hate Dragon Age?
Greg Miller
They hated it real loud. But then the Dragon Age fans also were like, yo, this ain't what I want.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because, like, my thing is, like, to the hateful people, it's like their job is to hate. So, like, if you're gonna hate on the girl or whatever, go hate. Go be hateful somewhere else. I don't give a fuck about you. I'm not gonna. Yeah, if the game's good, I'm gonna love the game.
Greg Miller
Reed FS says Fable Anniversary is in my top 10 favorite games. Hell yeah. Rabbit of Canterbuck says, public announcement. Please watch the IT crowd. And then here we go. Kevo says, I think the Fable trilogy was great when I was a teenager. My hope is what I think Greg said last week, quote, Fable 2026 should be. Should be a funnier modern witcher, which I would love, is what I think they. I mean, like, so let's just get out. And we're not going to go into the weeds on this because this is today's driveway Started Fable Anniversary last night, right. Played for. I forget if it was the full hour, but I got through the intro and I was like, damn. Yeah. Like, this is an old game. Like, this feels old in like, not even like the. Oh, it's a little clunky. You know what I mean? Like, it's clunky as shit. This, that, and the other. I'm like, I don't. I don't. I'm. I still want that fantasy rpg, but I don't want this one. And so the day before chasing this adventure, I want this grand adventure. I had started a new Witcher 3 save. And so I went back to that last night and played. And so my whole Greg way is about that, right? Of like, I see them as different colors of the same drawing to a degree, right? Where of course, the witch are way more serious and way more intense and, you know, blah, blah, blah. But it's like that is that idea right there of being able to go between them. And so, like, I do stand by that and I do think they should get that, like. But again, to say, oh, playground games. Who has never made an RPG this way? Who's taking on a. The Fable namesake and all this stuff, Sit down and make the Witcher. But funny, that's hard. That's. The game's taken for fucking ever. Which is also where you get into, like, this has got to hit for Xbox. This has got to be that for Xbox.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm excited to see more from it. I'm excited to see what they have to show, but I think they have the largest task here to try and hit for Fable fans and then also make something that excites people that aren't Fable fans.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know if they're able to do all that, but I'm excited to see them try.
Greg Miller
Yeah. And then final one on this one, Lucy Dreams super chats and says, will we get Fable Anniversary Shadow job on PlayStation 5? That was the other thing when I was playing it last night. Not so much the PlayStation 5 part of it, but I had bet when I was getting gearing up for this, I was like, all right, cool. Download Witcher to Switch and PlayStation 5. And then I was like, all right, I want to do Fable too. And I was like, I went on the Rog and I was like, fable, why can't I. Fable's only cloud streaming. Oh, it's Anniversary's only backwards compatible 360 game pass. Whatever. So I put on the Xbox series X. But as I started it last night and found out how clunky I was. Like, what are the odds are going to give? Like the. Hey, here is the Fable anniversary, the Fable 1, 2 and 3 Super Collection you're waiting for. Fable that's coming out in August, but we're dropping today. This collection of games that has all the modern enhancements or whatever. It's on PC Game Pass and it's this, that and the other.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What I want from you. At some point, this could be like when we. When we're close to the Fable release. But since you've played a little bit of Fable now, last night, since you're fresh off of it, I want like a list. It could be you, Paris or whoever else is like a Fable fan out there. I want three to five things that the new Fable needs to have. Yeah. Has to have to like keep with that same spirit of like this is Fable, but also to bring it to 2026. Okay. It could be a gamescast, it could be a Greg way.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You can just tell me. Tell it to me at my desk.
Greg Miller
I like that. I like that. How about I tell you two at this desk. That was terrible. Number two on the Roper Report. Life is Strange. Reunion leaks early. Jesus Christ. I just can't read today, everybody. Let me try again. Don't judge me. Number two. Life is strange. Reunion leaks early. Coming sooner than we thought. This is Kenneth Shepard at Kotaku. While we are live, I am refreshing the Xbox Wire page where this originally leaked from because the Square Enix direct about this is going on right now. So the leaks we're talking about should be reality and hopefully we can dig out a trailer. Can you look for that while I go? If that's possible anywhere. Anyways, we go to Kenneth at Kotaku. The rumors were true. Life is Strange reunion is coming and it's bringing Chloe Price back into the fold after 2024's double exposure hinted at her return. Perhaps most surprisingly, however, it's coming out in just two months. The official announcement is set to go live at 1pm Eastern, but Xbox Wire posted its announcement blog a bit earlier. A reunion will star both Max Caulfield and Chloe as co protagonists with both having different gameplay mechanics. Matt, was this the trailer?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. We can live react.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I want to live reactive. You can apologize for me, buddy. Max is able to rewind time as she did in the first Life is Strange while Chloe will use her augmentive quote unquote back talk mechanic from the prequel before the Storm.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Argumentative.
Greg Miller
What did I say?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You said augmented.
Greg Miller
Thank you. I can't read today. I shouldn't even be here. The big I should just go play witcher. The big question is how Chloe is able to return despite her possibly dying at the end of the original life is strange, a choice that Double Exposure made a point to import. Based on this line in the blog post, it seems like it may be the result of a timeline jumping Max did in Double Exposure. Though I expect the minutia of this to be affected by which choice you made way back in 2015. Whatever the case, it does seem like Reunion is not undoing either choice. As the blog says, whether Chloe lived or died in Arcadia Bay and whether she and Max were friends or lovers, these choices are key not just to the past you'll confirm as you play, but but to the future. You'll fight for the chance to build. End quote. So I will hold no judgment for the time being, and I won't have to wait long. Reunion is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series on March 26th. It's very likely that more details will be coming when developer Deck9 posts its actual announcement. So we'll have an update to this story when that happens. Can we now watch this trailer, please?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Man, this brings me back.
Greg Miller
Your actions.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But you're not gonna get me though.
Greg Miller
This brings you back.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're not gonna get me. Square Enix Deck 9 God, this is a bad idea.
Trailer Voice/Character
I thought the storm would be the worst thing to hit Caladon, but now I only have three days to save everyone.
Greg Miller
Help. Moses. Moses back, baby. One last chance to rewind sound.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's good.
Trailer Voice/Character
All that destruction and there was nothing I could do.
Greg Miller
You bought us time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Time that will make the most of.
Trailer Voice/Character
With so many lives at stake, I need all the help I can get. Sophie?
Greg Miller
In the flesh.
Trailer Voice/Character
You saw this campus burned down. Then it means it was supposed to happen.
Greg Miller
Her mom. Remember her?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I know there are using your powers, but maybe this time is different.
Trailer Voice/Character
Right when everything is falling into chaos, She walks in like she heard her cue.
Greg Miller
Chloe.
Trailer Voice/Character
How are you here? Lots to discuss.
Greg Miller
Right now.
Trailer Voice/Character
I think we should run.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's not her.
Greg Miller
Is that Ashley?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean.
Greg Miller
Let's go. Max, I wasn't question. It might be Ashley Burch Stills.
Trailer Voice/Character
I have memories I didn't know.
Sponsor/Ad Host
Ashley Bir.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I never put that together.
Trailer Voice/Character
Max, did you do this? Your visions, the fire? We'll figure it all out. Whatever comes next, it will happen to us.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Nah, she just doesn't look like Chloe.
Greg Miller
She got blue hair.
Trailer Voice/Character
Come back to me. Just to end up here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, I'm sure this is graphics and updated art style or whatever, but I guess Max doesn't look like Max either. But I'm used to this Max.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. So, yeah, I don't think it's actually Birch. Chat says it's not actually Birch, so I got them going for me. Sad Crab says Tech 9 is greater than Deck 9. Nobody's arguing that. Tech 9.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to eat your slop. You know what I mean? Like, I'm going to play the game. I'm not going to like it, but.
Greg Miller
Did you like that trailer? Because I like that trailer. I'm with you. Like, why do we keep coming back to the well, but like, it. Honestly, I think back of what we didn't like about Double Exposure. And it was the ending. It was where we went with the story.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, my God.
Greg Miller
And it was very much the. We're going to. I'm going to get together. The Avengers of fucking Superpower people. Right? And the fact they're like, nada. Just stay on campus. You're just going to stay on campus, Max. You're going to stay at Caladan. You're just going to worry about this shit. I'm like, all right, maybe I don't hate it. I don't hate where we're starting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is what I'll say. You know they put out the New Avengers trailers.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And everybody's going crazy, getting hype or whatever. But, like, one of the trailers featured Steve Rogers, and that invoked a feeling of me of, like, steve Rogers is sacred. Just leave him in the grave.
Greg Miller
You know?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, do we got to bring back Steve Rogers? Like, I felt that that was good and final. I don't know. Chloe is also my Steve Rogers.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, Chloe's sacred.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I had my. Like, I made that choice at the end of Life Is Strange. I felt a level of conclusion there. I felt a level of like, all right, you know, there's a. There's finality here. We did before the Storm, the prequel. I liked that game. You know, I like that we went back and did that. I don't want more from these characters. I laid these characters to rest. Let Chloe rest.
Greg Miller
Well, this is the final. The final one, right? Isn't that the way they. I thought that. Did I read that or did I see it somewhere else today? So I thought somebody was saying, making it out to be that this would be the final, final one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, the final, final Life is Strange.
Greg Miller
Or the final one final One of their story.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Here's the thing. This might also be the final one of Deck nine because it doesn't sound like that studio launch. This world. Life is Strange might be, you know how like you'll have like a cursed idol where whoever makes a wish with it will fucking die in five days or whatever. It gets passed around and people keep getting cursed. Life is Strange is a cursed idol where whoever works on a Life is Strange just goes down a bad path. You know, Bloom and rage was not good. Don't nod. Deserves better. Don't know how to be making better narrative games. And also, I don't like people. I don't like a studio that's not Don't Nod doing Max and Chloe stories.
Greg Miller
I agree with that. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, I don't know. I just associate it so strongly with them.
Greg Miller
From the Xbox Wire. There's a paragraph that begins which brings us at last to Life is Strange reunion. The thrilling finale to the Max and Chloe saga. A chapter that brings their book to a close. I'll believe when I see it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure.
Greg Miller
Because again, there's been comics and all this other shit that he was, you know, fucking spiraling out of this stuff.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We just say just aunt was good. I do think that Don't Nod is making good games outside of the narrative chooser adventure stuff. But like, I like don't nod for those types of games. Yeah, I'm with you. I'll believe it when I see it. If they're really gonna close this story out. But I don't. I don't want another game of this. That said, you know, I'll give them a shot to convince me because I'm going to play this game.
Greg Miller
Yeah, of course we're gonna play. Yeah, we have to. You know what I mean? We have to. We've played so many. We've played the rest.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are we still gonna get the thing where Max is assembling a bunch of super powered people? Because they kind of hinted at that in the last game.
Greg Miller
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're just going to abandon that.
Greg Miller
Yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That sucks.
Greg Miller
I mean, it is either that or the fucking brothers from Life is Strange 2 are showing up at the end to fight off this Caladon thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And what's her name from True Colors as well.
Greg Miller
A game I fucking love. But can you imagine? What do you do? I rewind time. What does the brother do? Telekinesis in flies. What do you do? I feel everyone's emotions. Batman. Scared.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Scared.
Greg Miller
He's scared.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's better than Chloe because here they're like, yeah, Max can rewind time and Chloe can talk back to people, which was never a superpower.
Greg Miller
I mean it's. I mean, you know, whether it's the sparring quote unquote power of backtalk that still allows her to browbeat her opponents during key conversations or just her whip smart tongue during regular dialogue, I feel.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like Chloe and the True Colors protagonist can hang out with each other.
Greg Miller
Oh yeah, for sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're like, hey, we. At least the True Colors girl has like a power. Even though it is empathy, but it's still. She sees colors. There's still something there.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But yeah, it's not as cool as you got in time.
Greg Miller
I don't know, man. It's just the normal thing of there's keep them wheeling them out. Wheeling them out. I would have just preferred, you know, I would. After Life is Strange 2, I was like, all right, I didn't love Life is Strange 2 as much, but I'd like to see this anthology continue. True Colors. Great. Good job there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is this the last Life Is Strange game?
Greg Miller
Well, capitalism would tell you no. And to your point, we're trying to figure out what's going on at deck nine.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Google in Deck nine owns this IP and it's trying to make money off of it. But like also, we know they are historic with not enjoying stuff that isn't just their Japanese games. So this could easily be the last for a while.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like the last latest article I'm finding is from 2020 for like December 2024. Talking about a second round of layoffs from Deck 9. Yeah. I just don't have faith that Deck 9 is like going to be around that much longer.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And so if they're not making it, who is Square Enix going to give this ip? Are we going to go back to. Don't nod.
Greg Miller
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why not?
Greg Miller
They don't own them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, they don't own Deck 9, but.
Greg Miller
Oh, you're right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Well, I mean, the earth must be salted there, right? I mean, probably.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But like if you're. If I'm. If I'm Dontnod and I'm Square Enix. Right. And say Deck nine in the terrible future ends up going away. Right. There could be a solution because Blue and Rage didn't work out. If Blue and Rage was a life.
Greg Miller
Did you ever play the second episode?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Nobody did though.
Greg Miller
The second half.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Yeah. I think that that's what didn't work for Bloom and Rage.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you even like the first half?
Greg Miller
I never even played it. I played the preview, and then I was like, I'll play the thing. And then nobody cared about the second half. And then I saw Jerrica from JK Games the other day, Instagram, about finishing it. I was like, should I play it? And she's like, yeah, you really like it?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, interesting.
Greg Miller
It's also about trying to find time to go do that when I got to go play the Witcher 3.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, I'm gonna look up Bloom and Rage's Metacritic, because I could be off here. I don't.
Greg Miller
I mean, regardless of. Regardless of Metacritic, I think your point stands is that we know that Don't Nod had layoffs after this game. And so it's the idea that how big can you make a studio to make these kind of games without that IP do we live in the time right now? Don't Nod is in a place, I think that's interesting, where the studio has grown so much since the success of Life Is Strange and then obviously shrunk a bit too. It was sadly that you then go, okay, well, we want to make games like that still, where it's like, all right, cool. But, like, you gotta go back and make a new IP when you were small and then grow that IP that you own. Whereas, like, yeah, if you could give them back Life Is Strange, but then all this has already happened and X, Y, and Z.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But have they. Have they superseded Life Is Strange at all? Don't Nod. Like, has any of their games exceeded beyond the reach of Life Is Strange?
Greg Miller
I mean, the honest to God's truth is, no, I think Banishers should have. I think, as me and Andy talk about all the time, though Banishers was too dang long. Like, that should have been a much shorter game that you could have gotten in, gotten out of, then made a sequel with the other stuff and kept going.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, just On. Of course. People love Just On.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I don't. It's not at the popularity. Like, they put out tons, I feel like tons of games. Tell me why I believe don't not. There's twin mirror that I don't think anybody remembers.
Greg Miller
Nobody like that one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I don't think they remember that they put out that game.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And so, like, I think if there's an opportunity to go back to Life Is Strange for Don't Nod, honestly, that's a big marketing beat. Hey, the originators of Life Is Strange, they're back on the game. Right. Like, I think that's a way to revive this. Otherwise, I just don't See a future for Life Is Strange because then who's going to work on it over here?
Greg Miller
Who knows if it's true? But Hot Dog man, which of course is a Life of Strange reference. So I believe that this is a fan who knows thing. Deck 9 fired everyone. They had to bring in the Expanse's game director to finish this contractually obligated sequel Square Enix had to publish for Double Exposure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's what Roger was telling me, something.
Greg Miller
Similar to that right before I missed that. So at that point you go, no, this game ain't gonna work out. And it was the funny thing of looking again. The end of Double Exposure is I'm making the Avengers and we might have to go after depending on choices of the girl we just hung out with, right? And then you look at this trailer and it's all the same character models from Double Exposure and the same universe models where you go, oh, you needed to flip a game as quick as possible. Which I'm not against. It takes a long time to make a game if you've got a story to tell. Let's go for it. But you look at it like. But wait a second, wait a second.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It did take them a year and a half to pick this game.
Greg Miller
How long it's been.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's not been that long since Double Exposure.
Greg Miller
We will see, everybody. We will see. Let me see some super chats here for Life is Strange BG 25800 says Life is Strange 2 is the best one to go back to. Well, I don't believe that. I mean life straight. Well, I mean it's because it's all. But Life Is Strange one was dope. We didn't know we were getting at the time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, at some point I will play Life is Strange too. I never. I played the first episode and then never got around to finishing it because the release schedule is bad. Yeah, but I know there's a handful of people that loved the Story of Life Strange two and I would like to experience it.
Greg Miller
Well, while you google about that, I'll remind you to not google but go to YouTube.com kindafunnygames patreon.com kinda funny apple and Spotify. Come see you in hell, a new Hollywood satire. Kind of like the studio, except you'd never get away with this on television. Starring Shannon Woodward.

Hey you. Join us in person for our live in review of Howard the Duck. That's right, Howard the Duck joins MCU in Review. Wednesday, January 28th at 7:30pm at Cobb's Comedy Club for SF Sketchfest. You can come watch me do all the podcasts within a podcast you love. Andy will be going. Nick will be shopping for pants during it but everybody else will be there too for you to come hang out and see. All you have to do is go over to kinda funny.com sketchfest right now to get your tickets before they sell out. Because coming watching a bunch of people talk about a very old Howard the Duck movie is really selling tickets fast. We're back. And before we move on to the next story, there is a little bit of fun stuff happening over on Twitter, which is rare because usually it's just Nazis. Don't nod. Put up a post that said, did it work? And then it's the weird little images of everybody trying to make Chloe. And they said, jokes aside, we can't wait to see what Deck 9 is cooking. Blue heart. So it's nice to see people supporting people, people developers out there supporting devs.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I did look up the date and yeah, life Strange double exposure came out October 29, 2024. So by the time we get there, it'll be about a year and a half if I'm doing that math in my head.
Greg Miller
Number three on the ROPA report. Doug Bowser joins Hasbro's board. Fresh from retiring is Nintendo of America boss. This is Andy Robinson at VGC News. Nintendo of America's recent recently retired president and coo, Doug Bowser has joined the board of directors at toy giant Hasbro. Hasbro is the American entertainment and holding company behind Wizards of the Coast, Transformers, Monopoly, Nerf, Peppa Pig, and countless other household names in toys and gaming. Bowser joins the Hasbro board after having retired from his Nintendo position just weeks ago. On December 31, 2025. The exec spent six years as NoA's boss overseeing the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and the company's significant expansion into licensed merchandise.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Cool.
Greg Miller
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
This is. Same thing happened with Reggie. I'm done there and now I'm on a bunch of fucking boards and does. I don't understand 100%.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I was gonna ask, like, what, what happens when you're on the board?
Greg Miller
I think you, you go to meetings, you probably get a stock option, you get your name thrown around here. So people look at your board and go, well, they have people who know what they're doing. So I, I want to partner with you and invest in you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You like, like how many meetings a year do you think Doug Bowser's going to? I mean, like, for this, like three meetings. Very much like a name recognition thing of like, hey guys, we got the Nintendo guy over there.
Greg Miller
I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good for him.
Greg Miller
Good for him. Get that bag get that bag, go out there, send us some Transformers number four on the Roper Report. More moving and shaking in the industry. Wow. Lead producer leaves Blizzard to work on Riot's long in development mmo. This is Eddie over at gamespot. World of Warcraft lead producer Raymond Bartos has left Blizzard to join Riot where he will work on the League of Legends developers upcoming mmo. Bartos said, quote, I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to join such an inspiring group of people and I can't wait to get started. Serving as a senior game producer, Bartos said his job will be to, quote, unquote, help deliver an MMO experience players truly enjoy. Additionally, Bartos said he is excited to join another former. Wow. That's. You know, what does that mean? World of Warcraft, World of War. We came off of Wizards of the coast, so then I was all like, fucking lost in it for a second.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was going to say War of the World and I was like, that's not right.
Greg Miller
Developer Orlando Salvatore, or no, no, no, Salvatore at Riot, quote, given our track record on World of Warcraft, we. I have a feeling we'll be moving fast on day one. He joins Riot following the developer's announcement in 2024 that it was resetting its MMO project, saying it will go back to the drawing board and stay silent for, quote, unquote, years to come as it reshaped the project. The MMO was originally announced as a League of Legends game set in the world of runeterra. The game had been in the works since at least 2020 prior to its reset in 2024. Let me bust out the old crystal ball for a second. Old crystal ball. Am I ever going to play this mmo? Not fucking likely. Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You don't. You don't believe.
Greg Miller
Wow. Yeah, I don't know, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's what my question was going to be. Like, how do you launch a new MMO in 2026 or like in modern time?
Greg Miller
In 2030? More like in 2030.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know what I mean? Like, is there space for a new MMO to come in? Granted, if anybody's gonna do it, I do think it's Riot. I think Riot's the one company that I would bet on to actually do that and somehow make it work.
Greg Miller
What a question. Yeah. So is there any room for another MMO to enter the space? Yes, absolutely, 100%, because all the MMOs, and I shouldn't say all the MMOs, but the MMOs, we think of a wow as a dork. DC Universe Online, these are Old games, they are dated games. Guild Wars 2 even, which is incredibly popular and modernized so much back then, is an old ass game. And so when you talk about like, let's come in, let's make it more action oriented, let's make it more feel like visuals, this, that the other, like there's ways like a modern mmo, you know, do we. I never played it. Do we want to count? Dune was the new Dune game that found like, that was an mmo, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'll say that's an mmo.
Greg Miller
So that found by doing something different, by getting it to an IP Final Fantasy, of course. But again, an older, an old game, right? Yeah, you can come in and you can do something fucking cool. What kills all of this is gestating too long. And so, yeah, a few years ago, Riot's making an mmo. They have a war chest full of money. They are unstoppable. Of course we'll eventually play it. It's a Valve kind of situation. They'll do it. Remember, they laid off a whole bunch of people in January 2024. Like, that was the. Riot is not immune to the whims of the industry and people going like, yo, we're spending too much money on things that aren't making money. So fucking cut it, cut it, cut it. And so like, that's where I come with this of. I'm sure internally they have every intention of getting this game out, but what is going to happen as we continue on the trend we are in, in the video game industry and eventually get to the point of like, how much money have we sunk into this MMO that we still don't have a date for, that we still don't have a thing for? There's nothing like, cut it, kill it. That's my assumption of what'll happen here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Have you been keeping up with the story of Hytale?
Greg Miller
Kind of.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hightail was originally bought by Riot to be a Riot game. Like they were going to publish and support Hytale and then they were like, oh, we're canceling this. Last year they canceled it. And then the lead of that game decided to acquire it from Riot and see it to the finish line. And now it's like the number one game right now. Yeah, everybody's fucking obsessed with Hightail and people are calling it Minecraft. Yeah, that's fucking insane. I can't stop thinking. I've been thinking about that all week and I'm like, that's fucking crazy. Like, Riot games fumbled, essentially. The next Minecraft. Who knows if It. We'll see if its legs are like that.
Greg Miller
I think we're streaming it today, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think so, yeah.
Greg Miller
Fairly certain. I saw a thumbnail with Nick on it today.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Maybe yesterday. I think that might have been yesterday.
Greg Miller
Oh, shit. Fuck me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
No, no, no, no. Yeah, no, no, you're right. Today. No, hold on. Today's Tuesday. Yeah, yeah, sorry, I clicked on the wrong one on top of that. Yeah. Nope, that's. No, well, according to Chad is saying.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We streamed it yesterday.
Greg Miller
All right, good. It's high tailing. Yeah. Nick and Joey yesterday.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Crazy story. I'm so fascinated with Riot as a company because in the last decade and a half, right, like they're one of those companies that I think you'd put in the conversation with like a blizzard of. You guys have found niches in markets where it's like this is a sect of video games where it's almost like these aren't even video game. These are people who are fans of League of Legends. Yeah, these are people who are fans of this specific thing that you're doing, right, Like League of Legends. I'll put up there with a World of Warcraft as far as how it's created its own lane and world and like merchandise and all. Its own lane, its own lane, its own world. And like I think it's put right on in a different class. And with two xko, I'm very fascinated to see how about launches? Because I don't know if it's going to blow up. You're playing that today, by the way, at launch.
Greg Miller
That's the stream today.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, that was supposed to be the stream today, not launching until 6pm oh, and so now Roger and Mike are doing a thing. I don't know what they're doing.
Greg Miller
Might punch each other in the face.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But to xl, like I'm so fascinated to see what the long term legs are of that because I think that'll be very telling on how Riot is able to continue to support something that's not their main thing. Because we've seen Riftbound, we've seen the previous card game before Riftbound where they kind of abandoned that. We've seen them try to enter in the indie space and give the League of Legends IP to smaller things. We've seen Arcade and how big that's blown up. They're out here trying to make big waves and they're not always successful.
Greg Miller
Exactly, exactly. And I think, you know, I like them taking the swings. You know what it came on the other day. I was driving around with Ben what came on my shuffle on Spotify from my kda.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Kda.
Greg Miller
Kda. And that went on and I'm like, and like Ben was into it, but I'm like, man, think about how popular K Pop Demon Hunters is and how popular KDA was and they just did nothing with it. You know what I mean? Where it was just like, yeah, we have, we put out a couple songs and it was great. But like KDA owned it for a fucking second there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
KDA should, yeah, but KDA should be what, K Pop Demon Hunter.
Greg Miller
Exactly. They should have spun that out in a movie and done that. Do you think you'll play this mmo? Do you think anyone plays this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it comes out. I mean, you make a really good point about the layoffs, but I'm still going to say yes. Yeah, I don't know if it'll be successful, but I think, I think it'll eventually come out. I think there's a reason why they just haven't given up on it yet.
Greg Miller
I hope so. I would like to play it. I, you know, as someone who doesn't like the gameplay of League, like I don't have nothing against the world like setting out an mmo, a cool mo. I'd like to jump into it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I mean that's how I feel about 2xko. You know, this will be my league or my. Yeah, my entry point into that world. Aside from arcane number five on the.
Greg Miller
Roper Report, quote thank you all. Rockstar Games looks to have granted a terminally ill fan's wish to play Grand Theft Auto 6. This is Tom Phillips at IGN.com Rockstar Games has reportedly granted a wish to a terminally ill fan whose family member asked if they could play Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of his November launch date. The unnamed fan was contacted by rockstar after a LinkedIn post from a relative blew up and apparently caught the attention of Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. Thanks Insider Gaming Anthony Armstrong, a developer at Ubisoft Toronto, originally made the plea on behalf of his family member last month, calling for help from any connections or games industry colleagues in getting the message out. Quote A member of my family who has been battling cancer for years just recently got the worst possible news. He was given 6 to 12 months to live. Armstrong wrote. The reason I'm reaching out is that they are a huge GTA fan and with the latest updates, he may not be around long enough to actually get to see GTA 6 launched. Best case scenario, he will be leaving us the same month it does. Quote he currently lives only a stone's throw away from Rockstar's Oakville studio. So it's my hope that one of you may be able to set up an exclusive play test so we can have a chance to experience the game before passing. End quote. Armstrong later updated the post several times. Firstly to confirm it had caught Zelnick's attention. And then lastly to state that Rockstar Games had been in contact with quote, unquote great news quote. That's all I can really say, Armstrong concluded, but thank you from the bottom of my heart. End quote. That's a touching one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. That one actually as I was reading it originally made me tear up a little bit. I don't know what about it but like that's such a feel good story.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And also displays the power of video games and like the passion people have for him. Right. It's like dude, I'm. I'm passing away later this year like best case scenario and being able to be granted this thing of. I've waited so long for this game. Let me at least check it out a little bit. Like that's, that's really cool.
Greg Miller
Very, very cool. No, I'm not, you know, I'm resisting every urge to make some joke so I won't very jokes would you make about worry about it, don't worry about it. I up in the head bliss. I can do whatever I want.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is what I'll say about the person who got to play, right? You know, like listen. What Leak it?
Greg Miller
Like leak?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, not even leak.
Greg Miller
He's wearing meta glasses the entire time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You could rate your experience from like, you know, 1 through 10 on a 20 point scale.
Greg Miller
More importantly, sick person. Do you really think it's coming in November? Did it seem that close to being finished? Because Jason Schreier over here, you know, healthy as far as I know. He's saying that he, you know, he's saying all sorts of things. He can see it slipping.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah but he's just saying that because it's like he's saying that he's saying they will delay but he's not saying they will.
Greg Miller
He's not saying. He's not saying.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He's saying he'll be delayed.
Greg Miller
Yeah, he's like now you have first hand, you know, but you've seen it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So like what's Rockstar gonna do you're not gonna do.
Greg Miller
That's a great point actually.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's wrong?
Greg Miller
That's a great point. Sick person. Like by the time you even got to the legal in front of A judge. You're gone.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He made that joke. I didn't make.
Greg Miller
That's not a joke. That's a serious statement.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, that is.
Greg Miller
That's a real fact.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is a real thing.
Greg Miller
No, what I wanted to do is try to attach it to the union busting how I was warped. You know, I said I wasn't gonna do it, so I didn't do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I thought you were gonna somehow Connected to the boiler room explosion.
Greg Miller
Also, bot. I was like. I didn't have. What was the update? Was there any update on that?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, they just say there was just an explosion. It was middle of the night, so, like, oh, okay, Nobody got caught in it or whatever. Somebody said that there was. The original reporting was that there was, like, bigger damage than there was. It doesn't seem like a thing, though.
Greg Miller
Okay, fair enough. Well, if a boiler did explode and take out the GTA studio and all the servers were all things, that'd be big news. But say I wanted something smaller. Say, the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would go. Bless you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Greg Miller
Number six, we news Rubato launches on PC and console March 20th. Let's watch the trailer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is one that Roger said that.
Greg Miller
We had to watch. God, when Roger does it, it's usually a joke.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Rubato.
Greg Miller
So far, it's kind of cool. What is this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I like that pronunciation because I. I read it as rubato.
Greg Miller
You know me, I'm an idiot.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know, like Rubtato or something. Roboto.
Greg Miller
A new 2D fizzy face.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, it's collective on it. Playing as a frog. Yeah, you're playing as a frog.
Greg Miller
It is the year of the frog. I saw what Polygon said that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Three platformer. Oh, it's an onion man who looks kind of like me. He looks kind of like the dude from Rapper. The rapper Master Chop. Onion. He had a man playing pool.
Greg Miller
This is kind of cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I. With this, I can do it. Oh, you're a ufo. You're a pinball man. Now you're in a car. You just ran into a cow.
Greg Miller
That's Sega Saturn logo.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your first person in a car driving. I love video games. Oh, it's going civilian.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Got a good art style. When it goes to the art.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The. The human character showing remind me of.
Greg Miller
Like, that looks like Mega man, but a nice agent.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're not Rhythm Heaven. What was the game I'm thinking about? Chat Elite Beat Agents.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skull is screaming, I'm interested. But I worry. This is one of those games that's an everything game and it doesn't do anything great.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I like the energy here.
Greg Miller
The energy's great.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This feels like if instead of playing Earthbound, Toby Fox was really obsessed with Sega Saturn and made this. That's what this game gives me.
Greg Miller
Somebody in the chat. Yeah, there it is. Sunnyside up says indie Crimson Desert.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just doing everything goofy. Gooba Goo in chat says Everything slop.
Greg Miller
For Mario 64 via the Verge. Sony announces plan to spin off its TV business in a new joint venture with TLC 51 TLC TCL 51 TCL 49 Ladders and chairs or the Army. I was thinking. I was thinking probably the channel. The Learning Channel. Remember that? Oh, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, tlc. Yeah.
Greg Miller
Or the band tlc. Don't go chasing water.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes, yes, yes.
Greg Miller
Lisa Left Eye Lopez. Don't get me started.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you know about Left Eye?
Greg Miller
Oh, of course. Remember when she burned down her house? She got all mad at her boyfriend who was on the Seahawks, right. Or the Eagles and then put all the stuffed animals in the bathtub and set it on fire. You realize the bathtub would catch fire. Burn the whole fucking house down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I didn't know about.
Greg Miller
You got to watch behind the Music tlc. Anyways. The new company is expected to retain Sony and Bravia branding for its new products and commenced operations in April 2020. 2027. Wizards of the coast is bringing Dungeons and Dragons to Fortnite for the first time through a new collaboration with top Fortnite creators Chartis and Terravision games. Using Epic's UEFN tools, the teams have launched five fan made Fortnite Islands. Inspired from ice by iconic D and D locations, monsters and gameplay styles ranging from PvP and platforming to massive co op roguelike experience. My spoon is too big guys.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My spoon is.
Greg Miller
What? What did I just see? What is this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I just pulled up the cuz it's the family Learning Channel which reminds me of the TLC always. My spoon is Fortnite related. My. My prediction kind of based, loosely based off this sometime before the. Before the end of this year you will get. And people are going to hate it. You are going to hate it. Fortnite will come to Magic the Gathering. You're going to have a secret layer drop of Fortnite cards that are playable in Magic the Gathering and people are to going that's gonna be.
Greg Miller
That's gonna be the jump in the shark moment. Because people have been Getting. I've seen you talk to me about it last Magicon, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, yeah, people are really mad about Spider Man. People are saying that like, this is the fort notification of magic already, like based off of all the IP coming to it. So when Fortnite comes to magic, the magic community is going to be mad.
Greg Miller
That's when the community will stop.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, people are saying it already happened. No shot.
Greg Miller
Didn't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did it already happen?
Greg Miller
Hold on. You Google. I'll keep going for my Nintendo news. SEGA announced Sonic the Hedgehog presents the Chaotix case Files, a brand new narrative podcast from SEGA in partnership with realm. It debuts January 27, 2026.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's crazy. It already happened.
Greg Miller
Well, now they do like the full deck thing, right? Because secret layer is just a couple.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Secret layers is a couple cards. I think if they go the full set thing, I think they will lose a big portion of their audience.
Greg Miller
Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think that's where people draw the line.
Greg Miller
Wow. And then do you care about this Sonic a little bit?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Do you know much about Chaotix?
Greg Miller
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Chaotix is like they're kind of a spin off crew from the Sonic world.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got the. I don't know their names full. You have Espio the Chameleon. He's like a purple chameleon.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You have the Alligator. Crocodile Chat. What's the name of the crocodile? And then you have a bee Cream.
Greg Miller
Involved at all with these groups?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, no. Cream isn't a chaotic. The whole thing with Chaotix is that like Vector Jetson. Vector. Thank you. In Sonic Heroes, you know, there's. You have different teams that you can choose that have their own motivations. Team Chaotix, they were just broke. They needed to get money. That was their whole thing is like, they're like, we gotta pay rent. And so we're gonna go after all this because we gotta pay rent. That's Team Chaotix right there.
Greg Miller
All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
You gonna listen?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, spiritually, I want to.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, because I like the idea of like, oh, we're doing Chaotix content.
Sponsor/Ad Host
Hell.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah. Let's go.
Greg Miller
You don't just beat the gym. Just God and chaotic. Absolutely not. Game pass. Games have been announced for the rest of January. On the 21st, that's tomorrow, you're getting Death Stranding, Director's Cut, Roadcraft and Ninja Gaiden ragebound. On the 27th, you get the Talos Principle 2. On the 28th, you get Anno Mutant, Muted Mutation and Drop Dutchy 20 Drop Dookie is it. Really?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I just like calling it that.
Greg Miller
Drop the duchy on the left hand side. That's what I said. On the 29th you get my Sims cozy bundle and Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. On the 2nd of February you get Indica and on the 2nd of no the 3rd of February you get Final Fantasy 2. Then from Devolver Digital on Blue Sky. That's a BS Tim ball cross pit gets even ballier with the regal update on January 26th. Two new characters, eight new balls, a questionable mark about new passives, and one new secret. Meanwhile, Hitman World of Assassination Cross Progression is coming February 3rd, if you have your IOI account. And then finally the Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass Music is now available on Nintendo Music.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Cool.
Greg Miller
Very cool. Yeah. And that's it for we news. We turn our eyes to the old Super Chats from the top. Rob Elise says did Tim get me sick via YouTube? Fuck's sake Tim. How powerful the germs were here and what Fran did to amplify them. Sasquatch Oni says Greg get Evil Dead in review. There's a new one this year. Smiley. I've never been an Evil Dead guy. I like horror, but I the Evil Dead just never did it for me. Not my thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I watched Pulp Fiction for the first time this last week.
Greg Miller
In review. Baby. Commentary's up now. Me and Nick can't wait to talk about it during interview Exile Online says blessing between 1 to 10 how hot was Sonic's feet?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're not doing we left it on the last khd. We're not talking about Sonic's feet anymore.
Greg Miller
Done.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's done.
Greg Miller
Varum Deck says if you like British humor, definitely check out. Thank goodness you're here. Yes, we all love people who played it. Love that we talked about it for a long time. Dexter comes back and says I was an OG Fable player and was extremely disappointed with them due to the over promise by Peter Molyneux. But I do have more faith in this fable. Kobe says that the new Life is Strange game ends with a black screen. White text pops up. Max and Chloe will return in Avengers Doomsday. Edward Super Chat says I'm super hyped for a fable, but I am a Brit. That's you're fine with that? I'm we're super hyped for it too. S' mores and Oreo says Greg, I highly recommend you check out Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon. It'll trash that RPG itch. It's the best Elder Scrolls not made by Bethesda last year when this game came out in early access. Remember, if I'm right, I got a code and I didn't jump in, jump in. I don't even know if I started. Honestly. It's the idea for me of. Because people are like, oh, Greg claims to love Western RPGs. He hasn't even played the best one drop this year. It's one that you say Bethesda and Elder Scrolls. When I look at it, man, it looks way more like a souls game. Not in a month saying difficulty, but in terms of world. And again, that's not a world I want to spend time in. It's again, for Elder scroll or for Elder Scrolls, Jesus Christ, Elden Ring and for Dark Souls and for Bloodborne. It's not the oh, you got to try the boss a million times. Which is annoying to me. It's more the fact that, like, I just want to be around these ghosts skeletons and like, the world sucks and I'm some ethereal being. So. I appreciate that. But whatever Melodic Quest says Life is strange one changed my life. The trailer we just watched did nothing for me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
True.
Greg Miller
It's the fortnight if a Kate. No, I'm kidding. Kevin says. Hey, guys. Flying in from Philly for the live in review next week.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah.
Greg Miller
Come watch us do Howard the Duck live for as part of SF Sketch Fest next week. Kind of funny.com sketchfest. Kevin says. Any wrecks on restaurants or things to do in SF with my girlfriend. I feel like we've done this a lot and I know there are Greg ways about it and things. You know, whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's gotta be a definitive kind of funny podcast, right?
Greg Miller
Yeah, we should always redo it because everything changes, you know? But like, what? But if you're over by, you're gonna be in the marina. Yeah, we're doing a Cobbs. Right? That's where it is. Yes. You're in the Marina. You got the. The pizza place McCaffrey loves so much. Tony's. Tony's is over there. You got original Joe's over there, which I love. And that's like a San Francisco staple kind of thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You want good Mexican food, go to Underdogs too. That's become a decent favorite of mine.
Greg Miller
I know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Kind of funny's always talked about it.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
More lately.
Greg Miller
Hell yeah, you have. I like that a lot. Yeah. Any underdogs you could do?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's in like a good, like, spot for our sports crew. Yeah, yeah. Volleyball team, soccer team.
Greg Miller
I like that a lot for you. Yeah. Underdogs 2 is the one out in the Richmond. Right. And then under. No, no, yeah, but like the. The outer Sunset. Right? And then Inner Sunset is over on 9th. That's underdogs trace now. Yeah, that's right, that's right, that's right. And then of course, yeah, you know the Fiorella Square Pie guys. There's plenty of amazing things we've talked about before.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go see Lucha Fugu ramen.
Greg Miller
The mar ramen. Mad Rock says Riot's MMO is either like. Like 2x KO after years in development and then changing sub genres before finally releasing. Or it could be abandoned like the Smash game because of Multiversus Failure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Had a smash game apparently.
Greg Miller
That's it for your super chats, everybody. We ask people watching live to go to kind of funny.com you're wrong. And tell us what we screw up as we screw it up. Oh my God, Jeppo, shut up. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean it's one of the ones I want to see.
Greg Miller
What he says it was the thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The fucking Yakuza thing.
Greg Miller
Yeah, exactly. Katie G. Says and I'm gonna butcher it. I'm sorry.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Richard Ayoade.
Greg Miller
Thank you. Is the British actor from the IT crowd who's in Fable. He's generally known as a comedian. Not to me because I don't think it's funny. Oh, here we go. Thank you, Hawks. I'll take it. Some clarification. In 1994, Lisa left eye Lopez burnt down the mansion she shared with Andre Risen of the Atlanta Falcons when she burned his sneakers in the tub. Not stuffed animals. Rest in peace, Left Eye. Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Rest in peace.
Greg Miller
And then Kebab says there is. And of course, of course kebabs would know this. There is a connection between Chaotix and Cream. Vector the crocodile has the hots for Vanilla Cream's mom. Also a reminder that Cream is canonically six years old.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm not going to touch that one.
Greg Miller
You sonic sickos, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, you can't have a family. Vector Campbell.
Greg Miller

Passionate, humorous, and opinionated as always, Greg and Blessing serve up plenty of discourse—and plenty of tangents.

— Greg Miller (09:20)
On Xbox’s RPG expectations:
"Outside of that, I've stopped expecting a 9 out of 10 from Xbox games. I expect 8 out of 10...But I don't know if hoping Fable ends up coming out as a 10 out of 10 is a wise thing."
