1 Gambler Today's stories include Fallout has a Season 2 premiere window and has been confirmed for a third season. Amy Henning's Captain America slash Black Panther game is delayed. And we've got Hell Divers two news because Gary Witta is here. This is this and more because today it's Kind of Funny Games Daily. What the heck is going on everybody? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, May 13, 2025. I'm one of your show hosts, Snow Bike Mike. And of course I'm joined by one of my gaming dads, my dude, the guy. Mr. Gary Whitta. I should say Commander Gary Whitta.
Gary Whitta
Yeah. What is my current rank? I don't even. I mean you can choose your. I mean like level wise. I've been. I've been capped out for for a while.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay. Okay.
Gary Whitta
I don't know what I've chosen as my current rank.
Snow Bike Mike
We're going to talk a lot about Helldivers too. And I want to know how have you been with Helldivers 2? How have you been in general? I haven't seen you in a while, Gary.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, I've been. I've been good actually. Work's been going good. I've been keeping busy.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
I actually just delivered a draft of a script to a studio for a big game adaptation that I'm working on and cannot talk about. But I got a nice. I got a nice fat check from it and I went out and I bought myself A couple of goodies. Bought some treats for myself.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, can you tell us a little bit about these goodies? Was there something special at all?
Gary Whitta
There was one thing that I really. I've been, I've been wanting to get into projection.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh.
Gary Whitta
For a while. Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
I know that that's the next level. I have a very nice TV in the living room.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
I mean, wanting to do this for a while.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
We just had our living room painted white. And so one wall has become a projector screen. I splurged a little bit. I bought a little bit too much. I spent a little bit too much on a 4K projector.
Snow Bike Mike
Sick.
Gary Whitta
Top of the range.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, play.
Gary Whitta
Let me tell you something. Playing Helldivers, playing anything really on 120 inch screen in 4k is sick.
Snow Bike Mike
You're speaking my language is.
Gary Whitta
No going back. You can't go back to a regular tv. Once you, once you've had turned a whole, an entire wall into your video game.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh my God.
Gary Whitta
It's sick.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, so he's plugged a little bit on a projector screen.
Gary Whitta
Yes.
Snow Bike Mike
That's nice.
Gary Whitta
Yes.
Snow Bike Mike
I love that.
Gary Whitta
And we've just been kind of learning. I have been a little bit of a nesting. Oh, before I forget, I mustn't forget. My 3 year old is watching. She was really sad. She didn't want me to leave the house this morning. She was like clinging on to me going, daddy, I don't want you to go. I said, I'll say hello to you on the show. So hello. Be good. Be nice to your mother. I love you lots. You're the best, you little monkey.
Snow Bike Mike
She's great.
Gary Whitta
You've met her. You know her.
Snow Bike Mike
I have, I have. Gary, you have an incredible family. She's wonderful and I'm lucky to get to spend some time with you and Gary. We're going to talk about the news, but before that, like I said, I wanted to catch up a little bit. I've missed you a lot. Of course. I apologize. I don't have a voice. Gary, we just went 60 hours straight of death stranding, me and Roger.
Gary Whitta
Oh, the walkathon. I actually caught some of that over the weekend. Yeah. What the fuck's going on here?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. When Step for Step with Sam Porter Bridges as Roger played through death stranding.
Gary Whitta
You were actually like on a treadmill or something.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, we had a little walking pad. I kept up with it and we had a blast.
Gary Whitta
How many calories did you burn?
Snow Bike Mike
You know, I didn't track any. Oh, you didn't I think I ate more than I lost.
Gary Whitta
Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
We. We were eating a lot.
Gary Whitta
So how. The real question is, how does it end up with you and Barrett? The two drawing the shorts draw this morning. The only two. Because it's a ghost town. There's no one in there. No one in today.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
The only two that didn't get to go to the big Nintendo store launch in San Francisco. Was it. Was it straws, or is this basically them telling you you are the two least important people or what?
Snow Bike Mike
You know, the team is off on assignment. We'd like to look at it as me and Bear are the most important.
Gary Whitta
I mean, that's. I'm sure. I'm sure that's how they sold it to you.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
No, no, don't get this. That's definitely how I feel the most.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Mike and Barrett, the most important people in the office, have to be here. That's why we're here today, Gary. That.
Gary Whitta
Yep.
Barrett Courtney
That's the reason.
Gary Whitta
That must be the two most reliable ones. Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
But, Gary, I've missed you. We're coming Hot off of a weekend where I reviewed Doom. Doom is now out for Early Access.
Gary Whitta
Very excited.
Snow Bike Mike
Have you jumped in at all? Have you been ripping?
Gary Whitta
Well, I have the. I got the I. The early access super Duper edition thing on Steam.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
Which means I think that unlocks a little bit early, but I don't know. Is it today?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. I believe you're live now for the super early edition. Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Okay. 120 inch screen.
Snow Bike Mike
It's time for you.
Gary Whitta
It's gonna be sick. I'm excited about it. I like that they. I mean, I haven't. This is one of those games I've deliberately, like, not tried to see too much of.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
I watched the original trailer, but there was like a big digital foundry because I love digital. One of my favorite channels to watch. They did a big comparison of all the different versions, but I didn't want to see too much of the game. So I've been holding off and not watching some of that stuff. But no, it's. It's probably my most. Most anticipated in the short term, like, what's out coming out in the next few weeks, months. I like that they changed it up. You know, it's more like focused on Melee. When I first saw. I was like, really? Is this the way we want to go? Yeah, but I don't know. Like, I feel like they've. They, they, they, they. They pulled it off. Right.
Snow Bike Mike
I think once you shield.
Gary Whitta
Apparently is kind of baller and the.
Snow Bike Mike
The shield is baller. You can do some Captain America whip. It will stick inside of the big ones and it will chase them up while you run it.
Gary Whitta
And it's one of those games where if you have a leading edge console or if you have a high end PC, you know that Doom is one of those games that's always going to like. It's going to show you the best of what your system can do. I like that attack, man.
Snow Bike Mike
It's the real deal. Play that. This, play this game.
Gary Whitta
I'm excited.
Snow Bike Mike
Anything else can you share that you've been up to? I want to know.
Gary Whitta
I've missed like I've been, I've been really busy. We've been nesting a little bit. I redid, I redid my office quite a bit. Trying to make it more just like a cozy little space for me to be. I put, I put, I put a pull down projector screen in my office too so I can move this, this projector. It's only like yay big. Sit it down here.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
You know, kick back on the couch, play some video games. But the thing about. I don't become a ball like a home theater nerd. But the thing about a projector screen rather than it. There's a different. It's hard to put your finger on, but it just feels more like watching a movie like in a movie theater. There's something about a projected image that just feels more cinematic than an image on it. On it. Even on a really good like 4K TV.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course.
Gary Whitta
So yeah, like you get into it.
Snow Bike Mike
Man, I love that. Gary. Gary, I love that for you. Have you been putting on your headset lately? I remember you were, you were getting in the metaverse. You called me once. A little headset.
Gary Whitta
I mean I got it. I got to be honest. I have the Apple Vision Pro and I have the meta quest 3 and I've got a list of things I actually on both, I got a list of things like I really want to check them out. Like Meta Quest 3 is like a Titanic explore the wreck of the Titanic thing that seems real. That would be really cool, right? In VR there's a couple. There's a bunch of different games on both platforms that I want to check. And every time I put it on, I'm like, man, I should put this on more often.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
Like this thing is cool but like there's something about. They've got to make it. I, I've said this before. I think it's only when it's like when this is the form factor, of course, will it truly take off? Because it's just like get it out. It's cables. You know, you got to put the whole. Squeeze the whole thing on your head. Like there's too much friction. It's not. It's. Until it's as easy as picking up a game controller.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Or just putting on a pair of regular glasses.
Snow Bike Mike
It's on.
Gary Whitta
There's always going to be just a bit too much friction.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course, Gary, I could talk with you for hours. I want to catch up and hear everything. But we got to get to the news, get into the news. So let's jump into it. Of course. Gary Whitta
Interesting.
Snow Bike Mike
And look at the the present of where we currently are.
Gary Whitta
The thing about 10 years is not that long in gaming, I don't think.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, it's an interesting is right. I wonder if there will be some crazy takes like will all be wearing VR headsets 10 years from now. You know what I mean when you.
Gary Whitta
Think about it, I mean what's in there? Is it predictions or.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, I think it's predictions of games.
Gary Whitta
10 years ago or okay, so yeah.
Barrett Courtney
It was a gamescast or whatever the show was 10 years ago. I assume a gamescast where yeah they predict, they try to predict what's what's going on today. And it was the games cat. This games cast came out 10 years ago. Exactly.
Gary Whitta
Today I'm going to. I'm going to make a prediction about the predictions.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
The. The vast majority of these predictions that they unearth are going to be way off.
Snow Bike Mike
I love that.
Gary Whitta
You know how like you see that oh in the 1950s this is what they thought life would be like in 2020. People walking around like a giant TV set on their heads and stuff like no, they're gonna be way off.
Snow Bike Mike
I love that.
Gary Whitta
Predicting the future is a mugs game.
Snow Bike Mike
Exactly.
Gary Whitta
You can't predict who the knows.
Snow Bike Mike
Then the stream will be Mike and Nick playing some games together. I want to show Nick half sword. Have you seen that one yet?
Gary Whitta
No. What is that? Oh no. Yeah, the one that's like quop but it's like hiding. Oh my God.
Snow Bike Mike
Love that game.
Gary Whitta
I tried playing it. It drove me. It's fun to watch videos of it.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
Playing it I found completely infuriating.
Snow Bike Mike
I can't wait to show Nick and see if he'll find. I think he'll be uptight pretty quick. But it is a funny.
Gary Whitta
It's like Nidhogg except you have no control over your limbs.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course, if you are a kind of funny member. Today's Greg Way is from Greg's car and he's talking about the terror, or lack of it, being two parents who own their own businesses. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rays, Aura Frames and Rocket Money. But we'll tell you all about that in just a little bit. For now, let's begin the show with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have four stories today.
Gary Whitta
Oh, that looked like the steam was coming out of my head.
Snow Bike Mike
Straight out of your head. That's right.
Gary Whitta
You should do that when I go on a rant.
Greg Miller
I'll try.
Barrett Courtney
I'll try to line it up.
Snow Bike Mike
We'll get you out of Gary Rant. We'll end the show with my gears. Yeah, yeah, I'll stay.
Gary Whitta
I'll stand in the exact position and just like add a little gizmo that makes it come out here. Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Story number one, Fallout season two premieres December 2025. Renewed for season three Michael Cripe at IGN Rights. We of course get your super chats in. We have a quick teaser we will put up here and then I'll give you the quick rundown but as that teaser pops up, there's not much word said here, but Amazon Prime Video has announced a December 2025 release window for Fallout Season 2, with the show also renewed for Season 3. The streamer revealed details about the future of its post apocalyptic adaptation of the Bethesda Games during an annual upfront presentation in New York City on Monday, confirming plans to bring the show back for a third season after the next batch of episodes arrives this winter. It's a signal that the Fallout team is already feeling confident about season two, which finishes which finished filming just last week. Quote the holiday came a little early this year. We are thrilled to be ending the world all over again for a third season of Fallout, executive producer Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joyce said in a joint statement. On behalf of our brilliant cast and crew, our showrunners and our partners at Bethesda, we're grateful to our incredible collaborators at Amazon MGM Studios and to the amazing fans as we continue our adventures in the wasteland together. End quote Meanwhile, confirmation that season that Fallout Season 2 is prepped and ready to arrive in 2025 comes as a bit of a surprise. With filming having wrapped only recently in the LA fires, bringing production to a halt earlier this year, many had assumed Fallout wouldn't have had wouldn't have more episodes before early 2026. While Amazon isn't ready to confirm the firm release date quite yet, news that it will be ready to drop sometime this December means Prime Video. The Prime Video is moving full steam ahead. Gary season two of fallout, of course a big hit with season one. The announcement now having a window of December 2025. The excitement of a season three. How you feeling?
Gary Whitta
I mean, I think there's a lot to like here, right? For the first season, obviously very successful, very well liked. It's both surprising and good to see the second season coming so quick off the back of the first one because one of the, one of the complaints I see a lot in the TV community these guys is having to wait a long time between seasons.
Snow Bike Mike
I hate that they just, they, I.
Gary Whitta
Mean they just announced last of us. Season three is not going to be until 2027, right? So sometimes you're waiting a really long time, you know, to pick up the thread in these storylines. So for this one to come so quickly is, is refreshing. That's good. I like that they're doing New Vegas, obviously very New Vegas. Incredibly, you know, I'm in the Fallout world, right? New Vegas has occupies a very special place. People are very fond of it. So for them to do New Vegas makes a lot of sense. Very excited about that. That's cool. And just in the, in the, in the grander scheme of things, I'm glad to see both just, you know, as a fan and also someone who works in this business on this kind of material to see video game movies and TV adaptations finally kind of having their moment. Right. Whether it be, you know, Fallout obviously very well, like hugely successful Last of Us obviously is probably the big, you know, standard bearer for that right now. The Sonic movies, all three of those Sonic movies, like, who knew they were going to be that good, right? But they crushed it. I love those movies. They're so good. Mario Brothers movie made like what, a billion plus dollars?
Snow Bike Mike
Minecraft.
Gary Whitta
Minecraft. Absolutely crushing it.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
So, you know, and then there's some other ones on the periphery that like, you know, that aren't like burning, burning up the way that these are. But it used to be that they were all bad and there was a stigma. It's like, oh, what's the. You remember the curse of the video game that's been completely reversed in the.
Snow Bike Mike
Movie back in the day because they.
Gary Whitta
Were picking the wrong things. It was just like, oh, let's adapt this because it sold a million copies. Rather than let's adapt this because it actually, you know, has. It's good source material, of course. And now we're finally figuring out, oh, maybe we should pick the good source material. So I'm glad to see that because I was always a believer if you just pick that, if you just pick the right games and, you know, execute them properly, you can have a success. But they just weren't doing that. So I'm glad we finally seen that. It's now for me, like in. On a personal level, it's created environment where it's now easy. Rising tide lifts all boats. Right?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
And it's now easier for the next video game. I'd say less difficult. Again, it used to be like, oh, video game adaptation. You're already like starting 20 yards back. Now you're starting 20 yards forward. When you pitch these properties to video game company, to movie companies and tv because like, oh yeah, we want some of that Last of Us money. Of course we want some of that Fallout money. So like I said, I literally just turned in a draft on a big video game adaptation and you know, a few years ago to be like, I don't know, it's pretty unlikely this is going to get made. You know, the video game. Now there's some actual optimism because that people like give us Some video game stuff that's. We want more of that. So it's, you know, good. Good across the board. I'm glad to see it.
Snow Bike Mike
I. I love hearing your side of things, too, because that's where I wanted to dive in. But I know we can't go too deep because you can't share.
Gary Whitta
I'm not allowed to talk about what I'm actually doing, but, yeah, I love.
Snow Bike Mike
Hearing your side of seeing this happening right now, before your eyes. Used to be way back in the day. But let's talk a little bit about Fallout, Right. Season two now heading to New Vegas, Obsidian's beloved game. In that Fallout universe, everybody still holds a that game near and dear to their hearts. How exciting is it for you to go to the Strip now when you think about this, Right. The light, bright lights of Vegas. This could be really fun.
Gary Whitta
I have to be honest. And I'm gonna have to remember in Zoolander.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
When. When Hansel is totally. Who are your influences? And he goes, oh, Sting. Stig's a big influence. And go, oh, yeah, like, what? What? Like, what's some of your favorite Stingies? Because I don't listen to it. I just, like. I just appreciate he's out there making it. Yeah. Yeah. So I've never been a big Fallout guy. I played the first two. Okay, but like, which were the 2D ones?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, those are different.
Gary Whitta
But then when Fallout 3 came along, which is actually when it took off for a lot of people.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. I don't know.
Gary Whitta
I kind of checked out. I just never got into those games. I've not. I've never played Fallout 3. I've never played New Vegas. I've never played Fallout 4.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh.
Gary Whitta
And I haven't watched any of the TV show, so it's like. I don't watch it. But I. But I. But, you know, good for them for, like, killing it out.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, I like that. Now, Gary, like, watching one of these shows, because there's a couple of ways we're gonna go with this one. Watching this first season, does it make you want to boot up a Fallout 3, a Fallout 476 or New Vegas? Did you get actively urged to go spend a week?
Gary Whitta
The closest I've come is the Fallout 4VR, which I thought, oh, that could be interesting. And I might still. I might still give that a try. I think that if they were to do. And if they were to do, like, a Fallout 3 or a new Vegas remaster, which I don't think they've done yet, right? No, not yet, but those In. In this age of like, remastering, being very popular. That feel. Those feel like prime candidates. Right. They're all. They're old enough.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
Right. That they would. They think. They kind of justify it.
Snow Bike Mike
They are old enough. They are beloved enough.
Gary Whitta
They just.360 was a three Xbox 360. Correct.
Snow Bike Mike
We are coming hot off of the Tail of Oblivion Remastered, a Bethesda title that just. I mean, it's still red hot right now. It's sold a bunch. People loved it.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
They wanted more.
Gary Whitta
They're remastering things like Day is Gone, which is not even that old. Right.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Well, we remastered the Last of Us a lot too. Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Like, what, four times now.
Snow Bike Mike
So.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, I. I think I. That I'd be very surprised if there isn't.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
There aren't at least conversations or somewhere, someone inside Bethesda is like, working. Or IPSID is working on these things.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course.
Gary Whitta
Or, you know, sometimes they farm it out, but some. I. I gotta believe that someone's working on Fallout 3 or. And. Or how cool would it be if they did Fallout 3 and New Vegas, like, as a bundle and they remastered both as one product?
Snow Bike Mike
Jerry, stop it. People go crazy now.
Gary Whitta
I've got you interested.
Snow Bike Mike
So now that would be great. Yeah. After season one, we had the big talk of, wow, this is so good. They should capitalize on that. And they weren't really ready. They didn't have anything there. We got a Fallout 4 Next Gen patch pretty shortly after the Season 1, but we didn't get the full remastered treatment. Right. And I think if you waved the magic wand, you would have Fallout New Vegas ready to go remastered in December. This hits. You would pair it up with that.
Gary Whitta
Maybe. I don't think it's a time with. With season three of the TV show.
Snow Bike Mike
Correct.
Gary Whitta
And then probably, like, because it's a ways off. Right. But Fallout 5, whatever that is, that's probably a next gen title at this point.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, Gary. That's way down the road.
Gary Whitta
But again, but I don't want to go off on another thing. But, like, you know how I felt about Starfield.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
That. That whole presentation, that style at Bethesda style is starting to look really, really dated. I think it hurt Starfield and I think the next big thing that they do, which presumably is now Elder Scrolls 7. Right. And then Fallout. No, sorry, Elder Scrolls 6 and then Fallout 5. I really wanted to get away from that. Hello. I'm a character who's talking to you and staring at the camera like I can't do it anymore. We've moved on.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, well, we'll see when it comes down to that. Far away. But of course, let's get into some super chats and let's also talk about season two because there's some excitement, there's some mystery to it.
Gary Whitta
Right? Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course, at the end of season one, we got teased of a death claw, so there's the assumption of no.
Gary Whitta
Idea what that is.
Snow Bike Mike
You know, here's the thing, Chad, now I'm talking to you. Gary gets to listen. But like there will be some fun moments, especially with New Vegas. Right. Will we see a super mutant? Will we get to see some of your beloved characters from Fallout new Vegas, like Mr. House? You would assume that's going to be.
Gary Whitta
There, but you could just be making this all up for all I know.
Snow Bike Mike
We get the tunnel snakes. Right. We get to go a little bit deeper into like the Fallout New Vegas world. Right. And what will that have? What will that be? It's going to be kind of exciting.
Gary Whitta
Let me ask you this. Why was New Vegas in particular so well liked?
Snow Bike Mike
Well, when Fallout 3 and then into New Vegas. So it was kind of the follow up to Fallout three. So I think Fallout three was the. Oh wow, this is something exciting. And New Vegas was the sequel, even though it was from Obsidian, so it was the next one. And I think people really love that. They praise it for the writing from Josh Sawyer and that team at Obsidian.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Strip and Nevada was very cool as well.
Gary Whitta
It's almost like Fallout. It's all. Almost like New Vegas actually is more well likes than Fallout 3.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Right. So I feel like one of. One of the rare examples of kind of a third party. What do you mean? I call expansion. Was it. Was it was Fallout New Vegas something you could. Was it an add on or could you. Was it a standalone?
Snow Bike Mike
No, it was. It was its own big.
Gary Whitta
So it's his own thing.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
But it's still. It wasn't, you know, it wasn't like a full on. It wasn't Fallout four. It wasn't Fallout four. New Vegas.
Snow Bike Mike
Right.
Gary Whitta
They. They. So it was like a. Like Miles Morales or one of the, you know, one of those halfway kind of things. But all again, as somebody who doesn't play the game, I still know, I still watch the community. I see what the vibes are out there and I just. One of the things I do know about Fallout is that is. Is that New Vegas is something that is just particularly well liked in the, you know, by Fallout fans. Yeah.
Barrett Courtney
Particularly the Story and interactivity of the story, I think is what really drew a lot of people to New Vegas. More so than. Than three, right?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. But it was great either way. It was fantastic. Right? And so is three. Three is very good. So is four. I mean, you got a bunch of hits here with Fallout. It's a great series. Let's jump into some super chats because I'm excited to see what the chat in the audience out there is excited for with season two when we bring it back to the show. Right. Season one did so well. We're following the father over to New Vegas is kind of the storyline to get us into Vegas. So I'm interested to hear what the audience is looking forward to from season two. But Morris writes in says, I'm stoked for the next season of Fallout, but this is a super chat for the end of the show. I just want to hear gary gab about GTA 6. So to Steve, Mike and Gary back. Gary, we're going to talk about gta.
Gary Whitta
I wish I could have been here for the week when trailer two dropped.
Snow Bike Mike
You're the best. That trailer too was good. We'll talk about that at the end of the show. I want to know Gary's thoughts on Andor's final season. You guys are so wild. We'll do that at the end. Jordan writes in, says possible Fallout remastered around December, maybe three, or even New Vegas. I think business wise, that would be a big win. Of course that's where you want to be. I think Gary is right. With season three, you will see the big remaster. I don't know if we'll see something this holiday that would be kind of.
Gary Whitta
A turnaround not to know about.
Barrett Courtney
I mean, there have been rumors, though. There have been rumors.
Snow Bike Mike
Would be amazing.
Barrett Courtney
I'm just excited to see Kyle McLaughlin again. Who plays. Oh, that's dad. He's really fun. And so, yeah, I forgot he was in that show.
Snow Bike Mike
Gary. That will conclude the super chat for that story right there. But very exciting. Congratulations to the team behind Fallout the show. Very, very good. Season two right around the corner to end the year would be fantastic. Season three, Gary, if they just keep traveling the map in my mind, we all of a sudden go to Boston, we go to dc, Shucks, even bring me to West Virginia.
Gary Whitta
Is there stuff in Fallout 4 that that suggests that it would be material for season three? Because that's what's left in terms of the game canon. Right. The game or 70. I guess 76.
Snow Bike Mike
76. We technically haven't been to D.C. either. Right. Because we started in LA. They did their own stuff there. Right. So they're kind of bringing it. I don't know how. I don't know if we would sit in Vegas for season three or how this will really look.
Gary Whitta
I suspect they'll move on.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, they hit the road, but yeah, I would love for them to kind of follow the settings of the games now and go over somewhere else. Would be fun. But how do you tell that story wise? Starting to feel like Walking Dead, where all of a sudden Norman Reedus is in the middle of Paris.
Gary Whitta
It's like, how do you get over there?
Snow Bike Mike
But I'll take it. I'll have fun with it.
Barrett Courtney
Yeah. Mike, do you remember when this takes place in the whole like Fallout Lore chat? Maybe if you could remind us.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Barrett Courtney
It's going to be fascinating with this. I know it's after the events of New Vegas because that's the big hubbub about going to New Vegas of people being concerned about, you know, what ending the people might have possibly gotten and stuff.
Gary Whitta
People in the chat are saying that it takes past chronologically after the Games, after Fallout 4.
Barrett Courtney
Interesting. Yeah, it'd be interesting to see like, follow it like throughout the seasons. Mike, what you're saying of. Especially with one of the actors saying that his character arc is going to be wrapped in Season five or something crazy like that. So it would be fascinating to see a lot of these locations again, post the stories that have been told in the respective games.
Gary Whitta
Kind of interesting that they went into the. Into the timeline at like the. At like the leading edge of it, rather than starting at the beginning, which is, you know, typically what you do. Right.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. Is that tough, Gary, if, like, if you were presented with that, is that tough to write into that and kind of weave your own story?
Gary Whitta
It really depends on the follow. Like the Last of Us. You know, I've said this a couple of times. Last of Us is a brilliant adaptation. But, you know, they. They had their story and obviously they have made changes, in some cases significant changes, but it's pretty much following the story of the games in some. Some cases shot for shot. Right. And that's a completely valid way to do it like this. That story is so good, particularly like in Part two. Like you don't want. You don't want to mess with it too much. And so the. The kind of somewhat literal path that they're taking makes a lot of sense, I think, in Fallout, which is more, you know, kind of a bit more open world, a bit more open ended and he isn't necessarily as linearly story focused as something like Last of Us. The, you know, the. You. You have a bit more latitude. Just say, well this is the world, this is the sandbox. What stories do we want to tell? What threads from the games that we want to pull on but we're not necessarily obliged to tell one particular. Yeah, you know, story.
Snow Bike Mike
I think that's the coolest part. When I think of those games. Try to think about telling my own story and having those water cooler moments with you of oh, I did this. Oh you did that. That's crazy. Right? So.
Gary Whitta
Right.
Snow Bike Mike
That's really exciting. You know what else is exciting? We have more video game news for you, but we're going to get to that after a word from our sponsors.

Snow Bike Mike
Hello and welcome back. During the ad break we were talking with Gary about some great games this year. He brought up that he's been playing a little bit about Expedition 33.
Gary Whitta
What a game.
Snow Bike Mike
We told him to get put on to blueprints.
Gary Whitta
I told games so we're going to get into blueprints.
Snow Bike Mike
So of course if you have some great Game of the Year contenders, what.
Gary Whitta
Are the game at this point in time? Almost halfway through the year?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
What are the game of the year contenders? Expedition 33 schedule.
Snow Bike Mike
I'm riding for schedule one.
Gary Whitta
Gary, do you think Doom Dark Ages will be in the picture? Ah, certainly in the shooter categories.
Snow Bike Mike
In the shooter categories, yes. I think Doom the Dark Ages will ride a high right now. I do not think it will be one of your final six at the end.
Gary Whitta
Okay.
Snow Bike Mike
What else is high on those?
Gary Whitta
So GTA 6 is out of the pictures.
Snow Bike Mike
6 is out of the picture right now. So you don't got to worry about that one is right. I mean we still got ghosts coming out later.
Barrett Courtney
That's true. A lot of people rock the kingdom.
Gary Whitta
Come deliverance too I think will be in the picture.
Snow Bike Mike
People really enjoyed a vowed. I don't think that will be on the top six.
Gary Whitta
You know what? You know what I'm really excited about? I think you may have played it, but I did not play the beta because I'm just waiting for the final game. Rematch.
Snow Bike Mike
Gary. We liked rematch Fifu.
Gary Whitta
I love that people are calling it fifu.
Snow Bike Mike
We went crazy for that.
Gary Whitta
Is it good?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, it's very good.
Gary Whitta
Because I love, I love, you know, I love football. I'm a football fan. Yeah, I love football games. There hasn't. You know and FIFA is what it is, right? If you want super realistic. But like I was playing around with. I literally this morning I was setting. I was resetting up my emulator because I. One of the things I did is I got. I put a little living room PC in the living room so I could play PC games up there. And it has all my emulator stuff on it and I went through and I've been playing like all the old arcade like Konami.
Snow Bike Mike
Nice.
Gary Whitta
Like they're always called, they're all. They're always called things like Screaming Thunder, Soccer and stuff like that. And they're all like over the top, like more arcade.
Snow Bike Mike
I love football games.
Gary Whitta
I even like Super Mario Strikers. Like I get that FIFA is like the super arcadey super sim. You know it looks super realistic. You know, obviously like top of the top of the actor. Yeah. Well the A25, whatever they call FC25 but like I just want to like kick a ball like through the back of the net so the net explodes like that and I feel like rematch is going to be that game.
Snow Bike Mike
It will be that game. And you and I have always said it, Gary. We've talked about it throughout the X cast. EA Big. Bring back. Bring back.
Gary Whitta
EA Big.
Snow Bike Mike
There should be a FIFA Street. Bring back.
Gary Whitta
I actually can guess what. I played a little bit of NBA Volume street too this morning.
Snow Bike Mike
Because you love that. I know you do.
Gary Whitta
They reminisce. They reminisce.
Snow Bike Mike
Gary.
Gary Whitta
Oh my God, what a game.
Snow Bike Mike
They don't make them like they used to.
Gary Whitta
They really don't. Give me, give me, give me a new NBA. Just give me an NBA Street Volume 2. Remaster. I don't even want another a newer game. I just want that remastered. So give me that.
Snow Bike Mike
Give me.
Gary Whitta
I know everyone says tricky, but that give me SSX3.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
That's the one that I like.
Snow Bike Mike
Bring it back.
Gary Whitta
Right? They already, they already did. When you play SSX3 now and back compatible, they they up res it to 4K and it actually looks really good. And I def jam, of course. Jam Vendetta. Oh come on. But like I loved seafood, right? Sifu is a baller game so. And they said oh. When literally they said oh, the guys with Sifu are basically doing that. But now it's football. I was like, you could like you could not like you plucked that game out of my brain.
Snow Bike Mike
Crazy.
Gary Whitta
I want it. I'm so excited about rematch.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, let me tell you about a game I'm excited for, but it doesn't seem like we'll be playing nhs.
Gary Whitta
Sorry. NHL hits. That was midway. Oh, that was midway.
Snow Bike Mike
MLB slugs.
Gary Whitta
Every hit was like. It was only like three on three hockey, right? Like every hit was like bam. Through the glass.
Snow Bike Mike
NFL Blitz.
Gary Whitta
Gary I. I'm not an American football guy, so like that didn't work for me. But NHL hits. I played the shit out of that.
Snow Bike Mike
So good. Gary. Great. Let's talk about a game I'm excited for, but it doesn't seem like we'll be playing anytime soon. Story number two, Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra has been delayed to 2026. This coming from Chris Scullion at VGC. The story reads. Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra has been delayed to next year. The game's publisher has announced in a statement post on X Sky Dance Games said the game, which was previously set to release in 2025, will now come out early next year. Quote we have an important update, the post reads. Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra will now be launching in early 2026. Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish and make sure we give you the best possible experience and one that lives up to our vision we've had. We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon. Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra was first revealed in March 2024 during an Unreal Engine showcase at the at GDC. The game, which stars drew more Line as Captain America and Khari Payton as Black Panther, is the latest adventure from Amy Hennig, the writer and creative director of the first three Uncharted games. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last December December Hennig said the game's 1943 setting allowed her and the rest of the game's development team to, quote, do a bunch of interesting things, one of which was to not only tell a story with a young Steve Rogers who will still. Who's still trying to find his feet, as opposed to a more seasoned guy that we've seen in a lot of the films. Also let us introduce a new Black Panther of 1943. It led us to tap into all things that I love. All of the wonderful tropes of World War II era adventure films, classic man on a mission movies and all that. There's a lot of intrigue in our story, a lot of twists and turns, fascinating characters and interesting locations. According to the official plot synopsis of Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra. In the chaos of war worlds collide, Captain America and Azari, the Black Panther of 1940s must overcome their differences from an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy. Gary, we move to now 2026. How you feeling about that? We haven't seen this game, so we have a lot to discuss, you and I. We've seen the CGI trailer. We have not seen gameplay. How you feeling about a 2026 date? Now the GTA is also.
Gary Whitta
I, I don't care about the delay. You know, GTA 6 just got delayed. Games get delayed all the time. It's. It's kind of par for the course now. To me, it's not controversial. Take the time you need to get it right. Get it right. You know, I'd rather, I'd rather it ship next year in. In great shape than Chip, you know, to hit some arbitrary deadline, you know, for the holiday season or whatever. But now it's janky or whatever.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Something like this is too big a deal to worry about how quickly they, they need to ship it and, you know, then it ends up creating more problems than it's worth when it comes out. And it's got issues. Right. And we've seen this with the Avengers game. We've seen this with Suicide Squad, right? These, these big, these. Frank, those big ips don't help you if the game is, is not fully baked. Right. So, yeah, And Skydance has infinite money cheat. Right. They have the infant money cheat code. So they can just say, yeah, it takes. Take as long as you need. So I think that's all good. In terms of the game itself, cinematics look absolutely incredible. The, the 1943 settings, very cool. I'm sure there'll be some elements of today's gaming community that won't be happy about fighting the Nazis because, you know, they think the Nazis are great. But for the most part, I think this, it all looks good. The thing that's most telling, of course, is we haven't seen any gameplay. Right. These cinematics are amazing. But this, this, we might as well be looking at a movie trailer right now, because until we know, I'm guessing it's going to be third person, uncharted style, Last of Us style, moving around, doing Indiana, whatever, you know, whatever. It's going to be one of those things, but we just don't know. Amy obviously is terrific, one of the most talented writers in that to me is the number one reason to be excited about this is because Amy is just brilliant and I think she's gonna crush this. But we just, you know, again, when, when they show nothing but cinematics, what, how much can you really take from.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, of course, Gary. Yeah, I, I, I, I think I've just been sitting here waiting for this game with no real rush for it at all. Right, you said it. Well, Gary is, I'm very interested in the story, in the setting. I am riding the high of Marvel. Like many others, I'm enjoying the, the superhero era that we're currently in. And I am interested in these two characters. Right.
Gary Whitta
Black, you say that, but I mean, it does feel that we're a little bit. That high is like kind of peak. I think we peaked a while ago, right? Like, the peak was end game.
Snow Bike Mike
Right.
Gary Whitta
And since then, I feel like we've been coming off not just movies, but everywhere. Oh, it's, I mean, look, Suicide Squad was no good.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, right.
Gary Whitta
The Adventures game.
Snow Bike Mike
But Spider man hits and you go crazy for super.
Gary Whitta
I mean, I'm just saying there's like, it's a post end game. Whether it be movies or like up until end game, you just knew that every movie was. Pretty much every movie was going to be a banger, right? And now it's like, yeah, who knows, right? One's good, one's bad. And then with the, with the games now it's like, okay, great, you've got Captain America, but that's no guarantee it's going to be any good. Like, the guarantee is, well, who's making it, right? If it's true, if it's insomniac, you're gonna go, oh, yeah, no doubt. Right. This team, we don't know too much other than Amy, we don't know too much about that is making this game, right?
Snow Bike Mike
Like I think of Arcane is making a blade game, and I go crazy for that.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, exactly. Right.
Snow Bike Mike
We're currently living in Marvel Rivals universe where Marvel Rivals came out with an Overwatch like game and we've all lost our minds to that.
Gary Whitta
Marvel Rivals is a, is a, is a great example. And that was a tough look at. Again, look at Concord. Right. Look at some of these other. You know, an Overwatch even has fallen off badly. Yeah, that's a tough. You know, in Marathon is, is, is. The vibes are very mixed right now. That's a tough genre to go into. And again, I just feel like there is a, there is genuinely a little bit of superhero fatigue. Like they've acknowledged that. Right. Let's make. Maybe we should make a little bit less of this stuff instead of like constantly, like asking ourselves, how much money can we make?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
And I'm glad that. I'm glad they've started to kind of ease off a little bit and, and focus on quality rather than quantity. But in terms of this specific game, again, cinematics, like, obviously, world class. Right. These are as good as any cinematics I've seen. Look at that. Look at the facial stuff.
Snow Bike Mike
It's incredible. So now, does this, does this get us excited for the possibility of maybe seeing this at a summer game fest or a game awards next or this.
Gary Whitta
I mean, if it's not until next year, I don't think they, they necessarily, you know, need to feel rushed in terms of showing gameplay. It might be like, it might be at some point later this year. It might be a game awards thing as opposed to the end of the year. Who knows? Again, it's. We'll, we'll. We'll see it when we see it again. I don't understand the mentality, oh, we've got to wait longer for this game. It's not like waiting for a bus. You know, you've got, you can go, go. There's other games you can play.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
There's other things you can do. Right. The game will come out when it comes out, but it's not like, oh, there's no. That I. What am I going to play until Marvel Rivals comes out? Well, not. Sorry, what? I want to play until 9043 comes out. I know every other game that's coming out.
Barrett Courtney
I will. I think people are more antsy about this one just because it's Amy Hennig and we have not seen like a Amy Hennig led game in nearly 15 years.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Barrett Courtney
And so I think that's why people are also just kind of nervous too with the delay of an Amy Hennig game because the last thing that she.
Gary Whitta
Was, well, she got badly screwed over on Star Wars. Let me just say I know Amy very well. She's exceptionally talented. None of that shit is her fault.
Barrett Courtney
Oh no, yeah, I know. I don't think everybody is like, oh, Amy's not doing what she's supposed to be doing. I think people are just nervous that the universe is somehow gonna come together and rid of us. Rid us of another Amy Hennig game. But I, I don't think I'd be too concerned about this, like, especially if they're saying early next year. Because to me this was a very late this year game in my mind. So if they just need like a few months to really like figure this out and make it the best game possible, like I'm not too worried. And I, I could see gameplay maybe at sg.
Gary Whitta
I'm all for it. Like, what would, what, what announcement would you rather hear? We're pushing it back six months to get it right or it's. It's going to be a struggle. It might not, might not have everything ready, but it's going to be out this Christmas no matter what. Don't worry about it. Which one would you rather hear?
Snow Bike Mike
Of course. That's right, Gary. Well, we got plenty more games to play until then. And guess what? I have breaking news, Gary. Helldivers Super Earth is under this.
Gary Whitta
This morning I woke up, I fired up Steam and I saw that Helldivers was downloading a six gigabyte patch. And I'm like, what? What is this? We have incoming message from Super Earth.
Snow Bike Mike
A new trailer to watch with you. I'll quickly read from the Blade, the PlayStation Blog. New enemies The Illuminate threat has grown, unleashing new terrors on our citizens across the galaxy. Reports indicate that the Illuminate have deployed larger, more powerful enemies within their fleet. Among them are the Stingray jet fighters that provide Illuminate support from the sky. Targeting Hell Divers and lining up devastating strafing runs.
Gary Whitta
Enough of a pain in my ass as it is. They're getting worse.
Snow Bike Mike
Another new foe is the Crescent Overseer, which has the ability to lay barrages on Helldivers in cover.
Gary Whitta
Before you continue nightmare already, do we.
Barrett Courtney
Want to live react to the trailer?
Gary Whitta
Yeah, because I've not seen it. I had to. Traits are kind of funny. I didn't get to look at any of this.
Snow Bike Mike
That's why I wanted to read it because I think we're gonna play it and let Gary watch it really quick. So let me just read one more quick one and we'll go. But perhaps the most terrifying are the reports of a failed Illuminate experiment called the Flesh Mob. A freaking. A Frankenstein's monster of voteless parts turned into a brute battlefield force that Hell Dot. That Hell Divers must work hard to destroy.
Gary Whitta
So you knew this was coming because the. You know, I am the. I am your. Your resident Hell Divers correspondent. Your war correspondent and the Illumina have been off the map for a while.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
And the. The.
Snow Bike Mike
The.
Gary Whitta
The. The messaging from Super Earth has been. Well, that about wraps up for the Illuminate. Don't have to worry about them anymore. So of course you're going. Oh, man, they're just. For every time they say that, you know, they're just coming back ten times worse.
Snow Bike Mike
Barrett, run the trailer. Gary, let's watch it together.
Gary Whitta
It's gonna be sound on this, okay?
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Attention Helldivers. This is a galactic emergency.
Snow Bike Mike
The true Illuminate invasion has arrived.
Gary Whitta
Planetary defenses are overwhelmed in a sudden, completely unprovoked offensive.
Snow Bike Mike
They emerged. Nothing is. Oh, no, Gary. Not your Super Earth.
Gary Whitta
Not my precious Super Earth. Darkest hour. You. Super Earth needs you all. Helldivers to Hell Pods. The battle for humanity has begun. I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day. Puppy up. So, couple of things.
Snow Bike Mike
Let's talk about it. Gary.
Gary Whitta
This is. This is. I mean, we'll wait and, you know, wait and see how they've implemented it. But on its face, this is what the game has needed for a while. It needs a bit. I needed a big shot in the arm because the game's great. I still play every single day. I have more than 2, 000 hours in that game. And. But the Illumina, even though when they brought them in with Omers of Tyranny, it was very nice to have a third faction. I. Generally when I play, I. Unless like, there's like a major order, like, you have to deal with them. Yeah, I will not. I don't bother with you because they're the least fun faction to play.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
Because they're not. There isn't a typical. There's less variety in the enemies than with the others. With like. I've never, like, counted it, but like, if you're fighting the. The Automatons, they've got like so many different types of enemies. The bug, the Illuminate have got like five, like five different things. You got the Overseers, they've got the Voteless, they've got the big Tripods, and like, like one or two other little things. Yeah, but. But then it's not. They're not. There isn't as much variety in the enemy types as with the other two. It kind of felt like they. They kind of soft launched the Illumina. This is. Feels like the hard launch.
Snow Bike Mike
This is it.
Gary Whitta
So a couple of things that would. That people have been wanting for a while is like pump up the. Make the Illumina more interesting to fight. I mean, I mean, don't get me wrong, they. They are. I mean those Tripods are brutal and those Overseers are the worst. And the other thing is like the thing we've been waiting for the long, longest time is like we want to fight on super Earth. We want to defend super. Oh, right.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. Here it is, Gary. They're not super getting it.
Gary Whitta
Yeah, I'm excited. And there's a new war bond coming as well.
Snow Bike Mike
Yes.
Gary Whitta
Which now is like far less interesting because this is the actual. This is what we want. This is why I love Helldivers is like just when the game starts to feel like a little bit again. I still play every day, but I've hit the level cap for a while. There's nothing left for me to do other than just play because I enjoy playing.
Snow Bike Mike
Of course.
Gary Whitta
Right. And they haven't introduced like Omens of tyranny was the last time they introduced like major new elements. Right. They brought in the Illumina and they brought in vehicles and all kinds of other cool stuff. And that's been a little. That's been a. A little. A little while off. People in the chat are saying weapon customization, which is something else that we've wanted for a while. Like they have. They do a great job with the war bonds of introducing new weapons. And there's a tremendous arsenal of weapons. I change up my weapons in, in, in held over just because it's fun. Oh, this gun's really fun. And like, oh, but I want to use this one for a while. Yeah, really fun as well. But yeah, I was like, let me, let me modify them.
Snow Bike Mike
Well, let me tell you really quick, Gary. Yeah. Let's hear customize your loadout coming from the PlayStation Blog once again.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
Helldivers are being given access to a plus new weapon customization feature for the bulk of our primary weapon offerings. Most primary weapons now have levels that are achievable by completing missions, which then in turn unlock new attachments.
Gary Whitta
I'm so glad I just turned in that script because I've actually got like a little bit of free time now.
Snow Bike Mike
There you go.
Gary Whitta
It's all going into this.
Snow Bike Mike
In addition to a chat attachments. Players can also unlock patterns for their weapons.
Gary Whitta
Don't care about that.
Snow Bike Mike
Whether it's tweaking sights for precision, changing color patterns, adjusting magazines for ammo capacity, muzzles to optimize weapon performances. Yeah. Performance characteristics or adjusting under barrel attachments for handling.
Gary Whitta
Yeah.
Snow Bike Mike
You want you can give me all of that. You're in command of how your weapon performs.
Gary Whitta
Yeah. Give me cap. I already know I'm going to full on.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah. He's already in chat.
Gary Whitta
Yeah I mean I'm 100 in I love I think honestly and it has won awards for exactly this. I think this is the current that you always wish they could be doing more but again forget this is a small team. All these updates are free, right. The original game was only 40 bucks to begin with. Game is an absolute. The game slaps the moment to moment gameplay in this game like, like even just as recent. I've been playing it like 2000 hours and every time I play like and there's, there's something you go oh that was awesome. The game delivers those moments like, like nothing else. And I think, and I'm sure people in the chat will. Will say I'm wrong but I personally think that this is the current gold standard in how you do a live service game.
Snow Bike Mike
Live, sir. Yeah. Yeah. I mean it nailed it, Gary. I think it's a great live service. I think it's tough right to keep players engaged in today's day and age with so many other games, but they've done that right. They had a grip on all of us throughout that past year. Now the game is how do you keep players engaged? How do I bring back the Gary with us and the snow Mike Mikes who doesn't play enough but knows it's a great game. Right? Like how do you find that balance? How do you keep players engaged and.
Gary Whitta
Keep that going and you'll see it all. Crazy to be wearing a Spurs shirt out in public, Gary. You mean you're, you mean Europa finalist? Finalists?
Snow Bike Mike
Tell them Gary.
Gary Whitta
Tell them. Hotspur Football Club. Is that the spurs you're referring to? Is your club in the, in the, in the Europa League final?
Snow Bike Mike
I think not.
Gary Whitta
I think not. I think no. So and you see every time they do a big drop like this, you see a lot of people going oh, I haven't played for a while but I'm going to get back in for this, right. They everyone, you see that with every expansion right There's a search. People come back to check out whatever the new, the new is. But this is exactly. I was talking to my brother in law who plays a lot and he was saying I'm hearing rumors that there's something big coming. And we were both saying like the game needs that right now. Like the game is. It's not again. I never feel that the game is standing or stale because the core gameplay will always sustain it. It's just so much fun. But like you're always grateful for something new, right? Oh, give me, give me. And the Luminant is the area that again that feel like the three factions they were the weakest in terms of. Of enemy variety and just like general. But if you go watch if you jump onto like the galactic map at any time and so you can see who's playing where.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Illuminate usually has the least helldivers engaged with it because it's just they're not that they're not as interesting as the other two. And this is. This is the way to do it. So Super Earth. Yes. We've been. And these are things that we felt like they've been building up to because they introduced like the. The. The closer to Super Earth colony worlds like the, the. You know, the more built up planets that have the urban environments over. The urban environments are super fun and you just get a sense of like super is going to be really heavily built up. Right. Because it's the. The capital planet. So the idea that you can get a sense of like this is where they're moving towards and we wanted to fight on Super Earth for a while. We want. We want an Illumina build up. I personally I'd love to be able to customize my weapons and do. Do tachis and stuff like that.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
Even skin. Even I'm not a Skins guy but like sure, why not? But like my big thing is always like I want capacity. Like give me ammo capacity. Give me. Give me reload speed. So like the idea that you can. That you'll be able to. You'll be able to put points or however their system is into the things that you care about. That's perfect for me. I love that kind of customization. The only other thing that I wish they would do is. And maybe they're doing. I don't know because this is a minor feature is like give me. Let me save my loadouts. Because when I. Okay, depending on where I'm fighting or who I'm fighting, I got to go into my loadouts and like oh, I.
Snow Bike Mike
Gotta change my armor rebuild.
Gary Whitta
This is the incendiary brigade. So I gotta go get my flameproof armor and like, click. It takes a minute to, like, reset everything, but, like, let me just save a load as this is what I use when I fight Incendiary Brigade. And just let me click those. Those preset loadouts. Like Call of Duty does that, right? These games do that, right? So just add. Let me do that so I can just switch armor sets and weapon sets quickly. That would be great.
Snow Bike Mike
We'll bring Gary Wida back on here soon enough and we'll hear his thoughts on the latest update. Coming your way right now with hell divers 2. And being mindful of the team and timing and what we have going on today, I'm going to slide story number four onto tomorrow's docket. But. But that is 200 plus Overwatch devs vote to unionize at Activision Blizzard. We'll talk about that tomorrow. But, gary, the Helldivers 2 story is big, but if I wanted something a little bit smaller, where would I go?
Gary Whitta
I don't have a piece of paper in front of me. I'm not off book on this one yet. You'd go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. What is this?
Barrett Courtney
No, no one heard that.
Snow Bike Mike
Little Surface.
Gary Whitta
Oh, I like it. They basically just completely copied the MacBook.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, Gary, it's pretty cool.
Gary Whitta
That's nice.
Snow Bike Mike
Full touch screen and all that jazz.
Gary Whitta
It's pretty cool.
Barrett Courtney
Gary, can you give that to me one more time?
Snow Bike Mike
One more time.
Gary Whitta
Turn it around again.
Snow Bike Mike
Oh, what have you done? I don't know. Turned it all off.
Gary Whitta
I see. Not so good now, is it? The. It's with you. I. I re. I. I completely wiped my PC.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay.
Gary Whitta
My gaming PC to, like, set it up fresh. Setting up a new PC for the first time. When you set up a Mac for the first time, it just turns on. You go. You go to the. You go to the screen. Literally nothing. You're there and you're ready to work immediately. Microsoft is like, hey, you want to try Office 365? Hey, you want to try Copilot? Hey, you Want to try OneDrive? Hey, do you want to set up your Android phone? Just let me use the computer.
Snow Bike Mike
Turn it on.
Gary Whitta
20 minutes away. You want to try this? Want to try this? Want to try this? Stop trying to walk down the Las Vegas Strip and they're handing you like, hey, girls, girls, girls. It's like, just let me use the computer. Get out my face. No, I don't want to use OneDrive no, copilot is. I don't want to use any of your. Just let me use the computer. Remind me later. No. How about remind me never?
Snow Bike Mike
You're the best. That. That. That's what's crying to Gary. Gary with his gears lately.
Gary Whitta
There you go.
Snow Bike Mike
Love that.
Gary Whitta
All right, a little bit late on that one. On your queue there, Barrett, but we got there.
Snow Bike Mike
Let's kick it over to the Wii News channel really quick because we got some good stuff for you over on WE News. Doom the Dark Ages is now available worldwide in early access. We talked about that.
Gary Whitta
But helldivers though, now what am I going to do? You.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, you got a big wig of gaming, Gary.
Gary Whitta
How am I supposed to choose?
Snow Bike Mike
The precinct is out now on PlayStation.
Gary Whitta
I saw that this morning. That looks interesting.
Snow Bike Mike
Can you tell me about it? I don't know what this is.
Gary Whitta
It looks like a kind of third person isometric 1980s cop thriller. Like your. Your partner's been killed and you're on the hunt for the killer. But it's like you're. You're a cop in this like crime ridden city. Okay, I know it looks, it looks kind of interesting from what I saw. I just watched like a 30 second trailer.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, I might, might, I might look into that, Gary. I like that. And then I have some big time required reading for you that I'm sure the team will talk about tomorrow on the show as well. This coming from ign. IGN report. Former employees community members allege able gamers founder fostered abuse behind closed doors 20 years after AbleGamer's founding. New reports detail abuse fostered by management, mismanaged funds and leadership that failed to protect employees. This coming from Grant Stoner at ign. This is a story that you definitely want to read. This will be your required reading for the day. Go on over to ign, give it a click. Read through all of this big time story that just broke early this morning. The team will speak about it I'm sure tomorrow. So there's your heads up. Go read about this, learn about it. We're going to talk about it. Gary. Let's quickly jump into some super chats and let's get this show on the road right now. Gary, of course people want to know about your Tottenham Hotspurs. Can you tell me about them really quick?
Gary Whitta
The team I've supported since I was 8 years old historically don't win very much. We haven't won anything since 2008. We got to the Champions League final a few years ago and narrowly lost to Liverpool. That was a bummer and we are at the moment. We fit. We fit. We're going to finish in the season probably one spot above the relegation places.
Snow Bike Mike
You know, okay.
Gary Whitta
The bottom three teams by a significant margin. But nonetheless we are at the moment. I still believe in Ange. Ange Postagoglu, our manager. I still believe in him. I think we should keep him and give him another window. A lot of people want him out, but I, I'm an. I remain an Ange fan. But we've been in the league. We've been absolutely terrible. And yet at the same time. So the two teams that have been most that didn't get relegated this year. Tottenham Hotspur.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
And another club you may have heard of, Manchester. Manchester United. Both absolutely. Historically at the moment, they. We finished in the two spaces above relegation. Which is the worst. I think that might be the worst ever for Manchester United. The worst Manchester United team ever.
Snow Bike Mike
That's crazy. Awful when you say that. Awful.
Gary Whitta
As bad as spurs are, I'm just so glad I'm a Manchester United fan. Those poor bastards. So terrible in the league and yet the Europa Europa League, which is the tournament that exists immediately below the champions, like the Champions League, but like for the teams that weren't quite as good.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, okay.
Gary Whitta
But by winning it, you get into the Champions League next year. Who are the two of the two teams that are in the final? Spurs and Manchester United. So in the league and yet did really well in Europe.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
But also at the same time, both still are now in the final. Could go either way. Gonna be very, very exciting. We'll see what happens. I'm. I'm hoping for a Spurs win because we need, we need a trophy man, Sam Donovan. You ever heard the joke?
Snow Bike Mike
No.
Gary Whitta
You know the joke that thieves broke into the spurs trophy room and stole the entire contents. Police are looking for a man with a blue carpet.
Snow Bike Mike
Amazing. Sam Donovan writes in, says, come on you Spurs. Gary. Enjoy the final. So Gary, when is that final?
Gary Whitta
It's Wednesday week, I think. Like. Okay, next Wednesday.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay. GTA 6. Gary. Oh, people want to know your thoughts.
Gary Whitta
What a trailer.
Snow Bike Mike
Hit me with it.
Gary Whitta
Look, it's, it's. It's been my no, no holds barred, most in anticipated game for a long time. As it has been. As it has been, of course for everybody. It's going to be the biggest game of all time by every metric. I mean, you know, and it's just looking so this. I did watch the Digital Foundry breakdown of and even those guys who like count pixels for a living and are very hard to Impress like. Well, some of the stuff that we're seeing here is. Is astonishing. The bubbles in the beer bottles and like everything else, the sweat.
Snow Bike Mike
We're going crazy.
Gary Whitta
This guy. I also like that. It's really annoying again. The. The incels and the maggots go, why? Why is this guy ripped? Is this gay? Is this game gay? No, you're gay because you think everything's gay. You just haven't admitted to yourself, to yourself yet. Come on, it looks phenomenal. It's gta. It's gonna be. I'm no doubt this is going to be worth the wait. I cannot wait. This is going to be the biggest game of. Of all time. And like, I mean, ah, just give it to me. And. And again, even when they announced it was. It was getting delayed, I was like, fine, take your time. This is not a game that we want to be delivered.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
In like they want to deliver this in absolute tip top shape. Right. This is not a game where they can say, oh, you know, there's going to be a day zero. I mean there probably still will be, but like, you know, oh yeah, there's some features coming later. You know, there's a whole online component. Right. Which is.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, but.
Gary Whitta
Oh man, dude, you know we're going to be rolling in GTA 6 online.
Snow Bike Mike
I was gonna be the. Are you back, Gary?
Gary Whitta
We're gonna be the princess of Vice City.
Snow Bike Mike
I can't wait. Are you back for some GTA role playing?
Gary Whitta
Not the, not the. No pixel stuff.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah.
Gary Whitta
I mean it's going to be forever until that's online. Because the P. That. That's based on the PC version. PC version is going to be a ways off behind this. But not like half the reason why I got a PlayStation 5 Pro is I knew that I wanted to. I want to play this in the best way possible and that's going to.
Snow Bike Mike
Be the way to play that is all right.
Gary Whitta
And this isn't even. This isn't even off of a pro. This is a base five.
Snow Bike Mike
Isn't that crazy?
Gary Whitta
Yeah. It just looks so fucking good.
Snow Bike Mike
James McGill wants to know, Gary, your thoughts on Andor's final season. Any words on that?
Gary Whitta
I don't know. I haven't seen it. I've seen anything of Andor.
Snow Bike Mike
Thank you for that. Kebab says, can't wait for Widow's Ratchet and Clank reboots. Kebabs, you crazy son of a gun sort by first name says, glad to see you're still kicking after a hell of a weekend. Mikey had a Great time watching. When's the next one? We're very excited. Thank you to everyone who supported and watched the Death Stranding Walkathon Stream. Death Stranding 2. Gary.
Gary Whitta
I couldn't get into that game really.
Snow Bike Mike
Gary.
Gary Whitta
It just felt, it felt like 150 million dollar version of QOps.
Snow Bike Mike
Like yeah, yeah.
Gary Whitta
Falling over again. I couldn't get into it.
Barrett Courtney
That sounds great though.
Gary Whitta
You know and then, and then the whole way every. Everybody's talking. I'm glad I delivered those post apocalyptic goods. Time for a refreshing drink.
Snow Bike Mike
Get my monster on there. Get your. Get the.
Gary Whitta
Jesus Christ. Shameless.
Barrett Courtney
The way there's. People are talking about death stranding too though Gary, because I, I will also admit death stranding one, not my type of thing. But the way people are talking about two, I'm like but is it gonna.
Gary Whitta
Be that, is it gonna be that different? I've not paid much attention because I didn't care for the first one. It.
Barrett Courtney
It seems like a lot of like quality of life updates that maybe would.
Gary Whitta
Have hindered you like quality quality of life. Like I can walk without falling over every five seconds.
Barrett Courtney
I think that's still probably like a good part of the gameplay but I think they're finding more so of the fun in that and letting you the player have more fun with the things around that. So that's the.
Gary Whitta
When is it coming out?
Barrett Courtney
Next month.
Gary Whitta
Which is amazing.
Snow Bike Mike
Okay, keep an eye out for that one.
Gary Whitta
I just want kitchen. I, I kind of wish Kojima had done something different next. I don't know.
Snow Bike Mike
You're gonna get od. You're gonna get his return.
Gary Whitta
You can do whatever he wants. And if he wants to spend more time in the, in in that death stranding world and that's his prerogative. It's just not. Wasn't my cup of tea.
Snow Bike Mike
William Velasquez writes in and says always happy to see Gary the goat.
Gary Whitta
Oh thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah, you get a lot of when I come on here. So it's nice to hear somebody say something nice.
Snow Bike Mike
The frog knight writes in and says Gary, there's a Helldivers cape on fan gamer right now.
Gary Whitta
I have one.
Snow Bike Mike
I was gonna.
Gary Whitta
They sent me one.
Snow Bike Mike
You're the best.
Gary Whitta
It's great. I've got a video of my 3 year old running around wearing it.
Snow Bike Mike
Wow.
Gary Whitta
It's brilliant.
Snow Bike Mike
Yeah, yeah. It's living the best life. Matthew Tucker writes in and says hey KF fam. Unfortunately just got news. I was laid off from Microsoft this morning. If anyone knows of an open product manager position. Let me know. Matthew Tucker Sorry to hear about that. Our thoughts go out with you and let you bounce back. Of course that is going to be a story I'm sure tomorrow is that broke early this morning as well layoffs. So keep an eye out for that one on tomorrow's kfgd. That was Matthew Tucker's write in for you're wrong but we didn't get anything wrong on your wrong.
Gary Whitta
When I'm here we never get anything wrong.
Snow Bike Mike
Not with Gary is right. Gary, any final words? I wish I could spend all day with you but I'm trying to keep us on the on the move.
Gary Whitta
Just, you know, keep it, keep it positive and think about the stuff that we talked about today. Doom, the Dark Ages, amazing Helldiver stuff. GTA 6 is coming, switch two just around the corner. What a time to be a gamer.
Snow Bike Mike
What a time to be Again people.
Gary Whitta
Complain and moan all the time but just take take a step back and look at the big picture. Video gaming is better than it has ever been. Yeah, ever. I mean I complain about it all the time. Like every time I have to upload I have to update my controller. I'm like oh remember you just put a, put a cartridge in an NES and just play it. I complain about the little things all the time but just, just remember the big picture game. Like remember how we were saying like the 2023 is this the best year of gaming ever? It's. It's sustained. 2024 was good and 2025 is great too. Like this is a great time to be in video games.
