Today's stories include Final Fantasy Tactics, Evelyn Chronicles reviews are here. Huge Yakuza news from the RGG Summit and Borderlands 4 has been delayed on Switch 2 a week before coming out. Well, all this and more because this is kind of Funny Games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kinda Funny Games daily for Wednesday, September 24, 2025. I'm one of your host, Blessing Addy. Oh yea Junior. Join me. Is the guy the guy Roger. But Cor, what do they call you? The taste maker?
Roger
Tastemaker? The lock. Yeah, the lock. Yeah. I was talking to Asin and he had the moment where he was like oh, the lock is in wwe. And I'm like yeah, that's the reason why I had that nickname is Greg just gave me a generic nickname.
Blessing Addy
Wait, so the lock is like a.
Roger
Generic name in WWE created character.
Blessing Addy
Oh, so Greg didn't even like come up with the lock in W. He just chose a generic character. Just applied it to you.
Barrett
I thought it was because you locked things in.
Roger
I thought so too. That would have been. Yeah, I thought Yeah, I was gonna leave for ign.
Blessing Addy
I thought it was because you'd be locking it.
Roger
Yeah, keep it locked to hear Roger Corny right here. Do they still use Keep it locked ign? Yes, still.
Blessing Addy
I'm glad. Rare today. If Damon Hatfield is still there.
Barrett
They are 100 still using.
Roger
But you think it's like across the board. Like it's just a Damon. I don't know if it's key.
Barrett
I don't know if it's across. I don't think it was. I mean do they mandate that when I was there?
Blessing Addy
No, I figured it was like I don't know who.
Roger
When Greg says it's just daily fix.
Blessing Addy
I think it's like when Greg says it's been our pleasure to serve you of like he just says it. So now other people say it because it's an easy way to sign.
Roger
They really need to like end every podcast with keep it locked over at IGN because that's their thing in my mind.
Blessing Addy
But like what about the IGN branding gives locked. It's not like they have like. It's not like it's a locked door.
Roger
I mean what's that little logo? Is it a lock?
Blessing Addy
I was not like a rattle.
Barrett
I thought it was like a target.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, yeah.
Roger
A little red. It actually makes a lot more sense. Hey Blessing.
Blessing Addy
Hey Roger. How are you doing?
Roger
Doing well. I mean this is such a me day of kind of funny games Daily.
Blessing Addy
Of course.
Roger
Number one Yakuza fan in the office.
Blessing Addy
Number one Yakuza fan.
Roger
Number one Final Fantasy Tactics fan as well. You know, I drafted it. I'm just, you know, just. Just want to put that. Yeah, you know, just want to put that out there a little bit.
Blessing Addy
Here is the IGN logo. A D pad.
Roger
That makes more sense.
Blessing Addy
That makes a lot more sense. Bear, bring up the IGN logo. Let's get to the bottom of this.
Barrett
We're on it. Are you going to play it, Roger?
Roger
We'll talk about it.
Blessing Addy
Story number one, I just want to.
Roger
Put it out there. At this point, this is, you know, my episode. And I'm so happy that you've invited me, cuz I was actually going to sleep in today. And yeah, like, you called me.
Blessing Addy
You had no plans to come into work.
Roger
5:00Am Crazy. You were up building KFG. Dedicated man called me up, woke me up out of my slumber. You said, you got to get to work now. I'm like, it's 5am we have to be here 9:30. You're like, doesn't matter. Big day. Yeah, I guess it's a deep.
Blessing Addy
I guess. Yeah, that is for sure. D pad.
Roger
It's a deep.
Blessing Addy
But you can also understand how me and Barrett are like, oh, that's a reticle, you know. Yeah, the. You know, the.
Barrett
The D pad, like, the things in my head were a bit closer together.
Blessing Addy
You know, I can see that. I can see that.
Roger
But the X, you know, I mean, there's an X in the middle there.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. Let me tell you. I guess this is getting ahead of story number one, because we're going to talk about Final Fantasy Tactics. The Evelys Chronicles, the remake to the classic video game, to Final Fantasy Tactics. I woke up to the reviews, and I was upset for two reasons. I was upset because I was like, goddamn, Roger. He was right all along. The streets love it. The reviewers, they're nerds.
Roger
I'm tapped in. I'm tapped.
Blessing Addy
That was the number one thing that. I mean, the second thing that made me upset is me now feeling the need to play this. This video game. I saw those numbers and I read the reviews and I was like, am I gonna play Final Fantasy Tactics? I've heard about it all my life. Like, I know people swear by found fancy Tactics.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
But I didn't think the remake was going to be the thing to make people go, oh, man, you got to come back. You got to. And might be the reviews.
Roger
This might be the moment.
Blessing Addy
We'll get into it. I'm also playing a lot of Hades too.
Roger
Oh, dude. So I booted it up last night for the first time since the network test that they did. I played that network test, liked it, and I was like, I'm not picking this up until 1.0.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
Now it's like I put money my mouth is. I have to actually pick up this game and play it. And I'm like, man, I'm just addicted, dude. It's. I'm dropping it. I'm like, I brought my switch to work for the first time in a very long time. Like, I think I just might be playing.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, this is the person. Like the few days ago there was somebody in chat that was like, you know, I'm. It's me doing the thing I do all the time, right? Complaining of. I mean, I want to play this game, man. I want to play that game, man. I want to find time for Silk Song. I want to try Kingdom Come Deliverance too and all that stuff. Somebody in chat was like blessing. Why don't you just play what you want to play? I've been playing Hades 2 and Ghostly.
Barrett
But it's such a dry season for.
Blessing Addy
Playing Hades 2 and Ghost of Yote. I'm sorry that I can't make time.
Roger
Yeah, I know.
Blessing Addy
And I was playing Sonic Racing Crossworlds. I was juggling three games.
Roger
Yeah, I mean three equally good, good games. Potentially.
Blessing Addy
Potentially. We'll see Hades 2 review happening right after this on Gamescast. Go see ot review coming at you tomorrow. Oh, shit.
Roger
Yeah, you can say that. Yeah, I like how PlayStation does that.
Blessing Addy
Are you gonna play Go See Ota?
Roger
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna play it. I'm excited.
Blessing Addy
Fair enough. For now, let's talk about a game and we may or may not play with Final Fantasy tactics. Of course. Remember, this is Kind of Funny Games daily. Then at around 1:40pm Pacific time, we'll go live with our PlayStation. State of play reaction.
Roger
Big day. It always feels like Christmas. It always feels like Christmas.
Blessing Addy
Oh, my gosh. I can't wait.
Roger
We ordering pizza?
Blessing Addy
I've had so much pizza this week, I don't want to do it anymore.
Roger
Yeah, we got to figure out a second option, because we always do pizza. We always go to pizza. And it's like I. We were at Wingstop. Well, not Wingstop. Buffalo Lobbies for a minute. What is the.
Blessing Addy
For like a week. We did left wing. Do you remember left wing? It was like the Korean. You did left wing that I.
Roger
You made it happen.
Blessing Addy
I put Greg on, and Greg loved it. And I was like, let's fucking go. But then if.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
People weren't on it.
Roger
Yeah. Tacos. A good one. Honestly, I think you just get, you know, what you do, and this is maybe not an exciting one, but I think we should do it.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
It's just Chipotle. You do the catering. You just order a bunch of things and you just make tacos.
Blessing Addy
Because I was gonna throw out there. What if we did a healthy option?
Roger
Yeah, honestly, I think it's not a bad idea. You just make your own tacos. You do the thing. It's not too expensive. I think it's not bad.
Blessing Addy
All right.
Barrett
Try to pitch that to Snowbike Mike and see if he.
Roger
Oh, he's gonna look at you crazy. He's gonna look at me crazy.
Blessing Addy
We gotta disregard his opinions now.
Roger
Yes, we did.
Blessing Addy
I think when it comes to what we're ordering, we gotta disregard after he.
Roger
Drinks, him and Andy, because they're just. They're just gonna order. They're just gonna order whatever they want.
Blessing Addy
Did you watch Gamescast yesterday?
Roger
No.
Blessing Addy
It was very concerning. You should watch it. Because in the. Early on in the episode, you see Kevin Coelho walks out with two large cups of coffee.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Places them down in front of coffee.
Roger
Or chai.
Blessing Addy
Chai. Like some kind of.
Roger
Yeah, it's white, right?
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
I didn't see what the drit.
Roger
Is. Chai lattes.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. But either way, put in front of him two large cups. To which I was like, oh, Mike got one for him. Maybe one for Nick or one for somebody else at the table. Mike then proceeds to take a sip out of the one in his right hand and then a sip out of the one in his left hand, which shocked me.
Roger
Yeah. This is normal. This is normal.
Blessing Addy
This is not normal. Yeah, this might be normal for him. This is not normal.
Roger
Gregory James Miller.
Gregory James Miller
I was making breakfast today, and I ran through all this in my head. Because what you're leaving out, of course, is that Mike also had three dinners that night where he went to In n out. Didn't like the burger tastes or the three slices he said he had of it. You and me made eye contact when he said slices of the burger. We didn't understand what he meant. Then he ordered sushi on doordash. Then he ordered Outback Steakhouse. No, Michael, here's the problem. It's all fun and games. It's all fun and games. And I understand, like, there's all.
Blessing Addy
There's.
Gregory James Miller
You're his closest friend.
Roger
Yeah.
Gregory James Miller
Like his friend.
Roger
Yeah.
Gregory James Miller
If we need to have an intervention, we need to have an intervention.
Roger
Oh. But here's the issue is I pulled him aside, I had the intervention, and then he made a content immediately. He was like, he goes on the holiday. She was like, you want to hear what this slappy said to me in the parking lot? We got to figure it out.
Blessing Addy
How do you feel about healthy options for, like, when you're ordering?
Gregory James Miller
I heard your idea. Yes, of course.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, I do like the Chipotle in the middle. Everybody loves Chipotle.
Roger
Yeah, exactly.
Blessing Addy
Except for when they infect people. Remember that?
Roger
All the best restaurants do that, though.
Gregory James Miller
It happens, everybody.
Roger
It makes it good.
Tim Geddes
Remember that?
Roger
Yeah, that's why they're not in New York anymore.
Gregory James Miller
Yeah, that's why. I remember hearing about that in Chicago. Be like, thank God I've never heard of this little burger place.
Roger
Oh, my God. Jack in the Box destroyed my dad's life because it was his number one burger place. Because you get the tacos there. And then for years, it was his. It was his Moby Dick. It was his white whale he was chasing. He would make tacos at home that were. That were. That were like the Jack in the Box thing.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. He's like, I want to make the.
Roger
When I went to San Francisco for the first time, we didn't eat anywhere else other than Jack.
Blessing Addy
Jesus. Yeah, that one downtown or whatever.
Roger
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. They were like, hey, here's all these amazing burrito places. After we visited Ignite, my dad was like, nope, we will be going to Jack in the Box.
Barrett
Yeah, that Jack in the Box. When we visited here, before we moved here, we went to the bathroom and the sign that says, employees must wash hands before going out. Underneath it was the square where the soapbox used to be with no soap replacement.
Roger
So, you know, seasoning right there.
Blessing Addy
All right.
Gregory James Miller
I didn't write it In. But Gregory is going to be me unboxing the Ghost of Yote PlayStation 5.
Blessing Addy
Oh, that's exciting. Some more housekeeping for you if you're a kind of funny member like Greg said, he's going to be unboxing ghost of Yote PS5. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rais and Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the RPER Report. It's time for some. We have seven stories today. Baker does it. I also realized we didn't even call it out for the live viewers. We're. We're up early. We started the show at 9:30am because the state of play, we moved everything up 30 minutes so that we can live react to that. So that's why we're live this early. So let people know as they enter into chat at 10am and they're like. Well, they're already halfway through the show.
Roger
Yeah, you've missed ten minutes of nothing.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, you're already here. Story number one, Final Fantasy Tactics. Evelyn Chronicles. Reviews are out. I got a roundup for you on Metacritic is sitting at an 88.
Roger
What's in an open critic blessing an 88.
Blessing Addy
Oh, it's sitting at an 88 on both Metacritic and Open Critic. Let's start off.
Roger
Thank you. Thank you.
Barrett
You'll break a hundred points this year, Roger.
Blessing Addy
I'm proud of you.
Roger
Okay. Oh, he's still talking shit.
Blessing Addy
He's still talking when he's wrong.
Roger
He's still salty. Pull up the Fantasy Critic. Pull up the Fantasy Critic.
Blessing Addy
Let's hear it.
Roger
We're gonna be doing it because I'm. I have some heaters. I got some heaters.
Blessing Addy
I don't know, Barrett, if you're wanting to talk, because you're the one, Barrett, you're the one talking about this game.
Roger
You were saying, you say, oh, man, you're trained too. You beat timber points.
Blessing Addy
I don't know.
Barrett
The art style is like not.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, but you know, I was on the train. But you were the loudest. You're the conductor. You're the one saying, all aboard. And I was just in the passengers.
Roger
Okay, we got Ghost of Yote still out.
Blessing Addy
I haven't played that.
Roger
I don't know. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. I think that's gonna be 85. 88 potentially Keeper. That's gonna be.
Blessing Addy
That's gonna be.
Roger
That's gonna be solid.
Blessing Addy
You have a great roster.
Roger
This was a huge one. I picked this up this weekend. Y' all don't even know about.
Blessing Addy
I don't know about.
Roger
I've been keeping this on the dldl. This game is going to be fucking huge. I'm just putting it out there. We don't even need to talk about it. Just want to put that out there. Ball. Ball Pit is going to be fun.
Blessing Addy
I tell you, if you didn't counterpick Expedition, you would be. Yeah, you would have such a strong team right now. The picks you have are really great. Can you go to mine? Because, man, I was looking great in the middle of the year. And now that we're this deep into it, here's the problem. What is up with Mixtape and Possessors? Mixtape doesn't have a release date and Greg was singing that game's praises. And what is in your counterpick and my counterpick.
Roger
Wait, what about your counterpicked for mixtape?
Blessing Addy
Yeah, so I can't even. I can't drop mixtape now. Possessors I have a lot of faith in. However, is it coming out this year because where's the release date?
Roger
Never. Never.
Barrett
That's the developer for Hyper Light Breaker and shit, right? Like, they're doing, like way too much. Like that game's not coming out.
Roger
Yeah, Never trust Evolver until they put an actual date. Because they love doing the thing at the end of the year where they do the Delay Showcase.
Blessing Addy
They do. They like doing that.
Roger
Seems like a perfect one to be there.
Blessing Addy
Oh, man. I mean, their website does say coming to PC and consoles in 2025. I got to figure out how to drop that. I think I still have a free drop. But then the question is, do I even have money?
Roger
No, you can pick up. So, I mean, I have $5, $2.
Blessing Addy
I have $2.
Roger
Yeah, you got it. You're fine.
Blessing Addy
And I forget if I set the rule so that you have to spend at least $1 or not. I can double check.
Roger
Sassy Tuesday here in the chat says the Ball Pit demo blew me away. It's going to hit. This game is. The demo is out. People are obsessed with it. It is basically a. It's a roguelite where it's like Ball Breaker or. Yeah, Breakout. Breakout Brick Breaker.
Blessing Addy
Or Breakout Brick Breaker, whatever.
Roger
You know the one where you fucking shoot out the balls?
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
Show us the gameplay if you have. If you have a second. It's awesome. This game is incredible.
Blessing Addy
Also, I don't know what they misheard. Mayor column Calamaniac in chat said, did Bless. Say mixtape is racist. No, no I didn't. No I didn't. I like mixtape. I'm looking forward to that video game.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
I don't want false narratives out there.
Roger
Sorry. I know.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. Bring a ball pit.
Roger
Yeah. This is awesome. And the demo's out right now and the progression continues so you can bring it over to the main game. This game is, is like Vampire Survivors. It's, it's scratching that itch for me and it's just, it's really deep and it's huge.
Barrett
And when is that coming out?
Roger
Next month.
Tim Geddes
Wow.
Blessing Addy
Is this a devolver game?
Roger
Yeah. See, I'm just gonna hit yeah, this looks good.
Barrett
And you'll hit 100 points.
Roger
Oh yep, yep, yep. And I want, and I want when I hit 100 points for him to be like, you're only going to hit 110 points. I mean like that's what it's always going to move. The move, the move, the goalpost.
Blessing Addy
Let's hop into some of these reviews for you. Ronnie barrier at IGN gave it a 9 out of 10 and says, the next time I come back to replay my all time favorite video game. Final Fantasy Tactics the Evelys Chronicles is the version I'll be reaching for. Its fantastic story of intrigue and betrayal mixed with one of the most satisfying RPG job systems around have endured the test of time. This is a mostly by the book remake, and it can't quite be called a complete or definitive edition due to not including all content from all versions and not doing enough to address the end game imbalances of the original. But sometimes less is more. Stripping away the cruft of Final Fantasy Tactics while servicing what made it special through smart UI tweaks, convenience features and excellent new voice acting brings it almost completely up to date. It reminded me of why it was so amazing in the first place and allows me to confidently recommend it to newcomers without making excuses for the original's 1990s to creakiness. PJ O'Reilly at Nintendo Life also gave it a 9 out of 10 and says yes. Final Fantasy Tactics the Evil East Chronicles cuts content from the War of the Lions version and it's a shame. However, put this one issue aside if you can and you've got a fantastic and fantastically thoughtful revamp. Otherwise meaningful quality of life changes meld with with delicate gameplay, nips and tucks, cpu, enemy tune ups and a smoother flowing experience overall to to deliver a game that's pretty much impossible to knock. Fans will be fully absorbed into the story all over again. Enjoying the new flow of the narrative and experiencing the whole thing. So wonderfully well acted newcomers who are less likely to be bothered by the missing content, well, they can just get busy lapping up one of the of the all time great tactical RPG's looking and playing better than ever. And then lastly I got one from Ollie Barter at Forbes who also gave it a 9 out of 10 and says overall, Final Fantasy Tactics is still the brilliant tactical role playing game I thorough enjoyed playing at the end of the 90s. This new and updated HD remaster in the form of the Evelys Chronicles is a welcome addition especially for newer players. But it's the original game that makes this collection so very special. Oh yeah, I am so happy that people are getting these games right. Like yeah, the versions of like their favorite game from the SNES or PS1 era, right, being redone and remade in a way that like does it just.
Roger
In ways that they probably would have never thought could happen with full voice acting. Like, yeah, that is, that is really important, important for a game like this and to have it be so apparently thoughtfully done and actually like part of the game in a way that feels meaningful is really exciting here. Yeah. The big thing that I was a little bit scared of when it was come to drafting it and also the release of it, excuse me, is the War of the lion stuff where I know that that was, I believe, the PSP remake or rerelease of this game. They added on new content, but then with this remake they were like, listen, like it's cool stuff, but it's not what the original version was supposed was going for. And we want to kind of go towards, you know, really honing in on what that game was supposed to be. So they cut it out. And I know that there was a little bit of hoopla behind it, but it seems like at least the reviewers did not seem like it was missing too much. And also the art style doesn't seem to affect them as much. Maybe when you play it for longer periods of time, the art style kind.
Blessing Addy
Of walks over you as we're seeing gameplay pop up on screen. I'm still not in love with the art style, but I think maybe once you jump into it, you don't see.
Roger
It on a big screen, you actually play it for a while. Yeah.
Blessing Addy
And also I think I'm just, I. I'm still in the phase of being impressed by like the HD 2D stuff. And so every single time I see a pixel art RPG RPG being remade or brought Back I'm always like, I'll put it in that HD2D. Yeah, give me that, give me those sprites. But you know, I'm. This is one that again, I'm glad to seeing the reception, reading the reviews, I'm like, damn, dude, are you a Tactics person? I can be. I live alive. I don't remember that one. That one came out a few years ago. Tactics game. Yeah, like I know that well, the, the combat style, it's like turn based but you are on a grid.
Roger
Yes.
Blessing Addy
And so it is like the placement and stuff like that. Right. So I, I think for me it's the, it's the thing where Tactics isn't my go to genre by any means. In fact, that's one of the ones where I'm like, all right, but you give me, I've said this before, you give me a banger in any genre, I'll try it out and I'll probably fall in love with it. And so I, in fact, I think I get more enticed when something is in a genre that I'm not usually like that deep into because I get to experience something new and fresh.
Roger
How long is this game? I'm assuming this is a long one. I mean I know the remake version of it. I've heard that they cut things and they made it a little bit more streamlined. But I'm assuming this game is hella long. But I would, I would, I would love for you to try.
Blessing Addy
If I had a put out a time, if I'm guessing if I'm doing the kind of feud or it's a game showdown, you know, numbers game, I'm going to say 30 hours. If you're looking up the how long.
Roger
To be 39 hours, 39 and a half hours main story.
Barrett
Another one that I want to bring up, this from Rolling Stone, Hayes Madsen's review. Because I've always heard about the story of Tactics and this quote here. But more importantly is the fact that Tactics message feels more applicable to life in America than any other game this year. Tactics Story isn't just to enjoy. It wants you to remember that resistance in the face of oppression isn't just possible, but vital that each and every one of us has a role to play in standing up against authoritarian powers that want to exploit our differences for their own gain. Which I've always heard about. Like the, the, the story being very special in Tactics. So yeah, oh yeah, shout that out as well.
Blessing Addy
I was watching a gameplay video this morning and yeah, there's a scene where the main character talks to another character and they're like, what type American are you?
Roger
Oh, really?
Blessing Addy
Yeah. And I was like, damn, that's real. That's real. You know, I've never watched Civil War.
Roger
Yeah, you reference it a lot.
Blessing Addy
I reference that scene a lot because that scene in the trailer kills me every single time. Shout out Jesse Plemons.
Roger
Shout out Jesse Plemons.
Blessing Addy
I love Jesse.
Roger
Also, Alex Garland.
Blessing Addy
When are we going to super chat? Unrelated from rogue930, who writes in and says, for those who have played Hades 2 in early access, are you starting fresh when 1.0 launches? Like, Andy, I have played over 80 hours as of now, so I've been. I've been going back and forth on Starting from Scratch. What I'll say is that I didn't start from scratch. I thought I was going to because I didn't realize that the save carried over. I somehow had missed that detail. And so when I started the game and saw my save was still there, I was like, oh, let's go. But then I also was like, well, I've not played in, like, over a year and so am I gonna forget things? Do I need a refresh? And then I just started playing.
Roger
I was like, you're back in.
Blessing Addy
It's so fine. Yeah, no, I'm back in.
Barrett
I. I am kind of lost because I was in a similar situation. Right. I started. It was like, fuck.
Roger
I remember.
Barrett
I forget, like, what my relationships were with, like, all of these different people at the home base and stuff. But shout out really quick to how easy it was to bring over my early access save from Steam over to my switch to.
Roger
Oh, shit. I was gonna say, I didn't think you could do that.
Barrett
Okay, you can link your. Like, in Hades 2, when you launch it up on Switch 2, you can link your Steam account and then it just, like, carries over. So, like, the stuff I played, like, a year and a half ago or whatever is just all there.
Roger
Wow, that's awesome. Wish that other indie games, maybe one that has a, you know, horn in it. Yeah, A Song of Silk in it would be able to do that. Come on, let me do that. Let me do that.
Blessing Addy
I saw.
Roger
So I can use mods on my PC so I can make the game easier.
Blessing Addy
Dude, I would like that just because it's scared. Is silksong on Switch one?
Roger
Yes, it is.
Blessing Addy
Because really, I just want to play that on an OLED screen because I've been.
Roger
Wow.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. What?
Roger
You want to play it on your Switch 1?
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
You didn't Throw it away and put it in a fire after you got the switch to.
Blessing Addy
No, I mean, I've not switched. Which one? I've not picked it up since I got my switch to. But Silksong is like, I think the type of game where I'm like, I kind of want to play this on oled.
Roger
That's crazy.
Blessing Addy
And I have it on my Steam Deck. But, like, I'm like, man, I mean, I need to get the Steam deck. OLED really is what it comes down to.
Roger
Switch one in general, just dead to me. Or a fuse.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. But it stays out until they make the switch to oled.
Roger
I don't feel it. Is the screen that bad? I think it's great.
Blessing Addy
No, but OLED likes better.
Roger
But if you tricked me and you told me this is oled, I'd believe you. I have somebody that has an LG OLED that's, you know, fucking five feet away from my face at all nights. Like, I know oled.
Blessing Addy
Roger, you're a crazy person. I think it's a good screen.
Barrett
I feel like y', all, like, you even.
Roger
Tim, do you have an OLED tv?
Blessing Addy
No, but I have an OLED switch one. And I know that it looks different. All right.
Roger
I talked to Gettys, and he was like, yeah, it's really good.
Blessing Addy
I know that the colors pop. I love how my geeks look on switch one. On my switch one. I also saw somebody earlier in chat say Blessing needs to play Fire Emblem. I do. This is what I'll propose to you, Roger. And to you, Barrett. What if 2026 is the year of tactics? Okay. Tactical 2026.
Roger
Think about it. Tactical doesn't seem like we're rising up. Tactical does seem like we are. Right.
Blessing Addy
What are you doing sixth of the first year. You know, why not both tactics? Ah, tactical 2026.
Roger
Because fire emblem.
Blessing Addy
Right. Fire Emblem. Yeah. Fire Emblem will lead the charge. Yeah.
Roger
New.
Barrett
New Fire Emblem.
Blessing Addy
I don't know if there's any other tactics.
Roger
Does that new Star wars game count? That's Star Wars. That's tactic scene. Right? It's like an XCOM thing.
Blessing Addy
Oh, yeah.
Roger
XCOM is tactic.
Blessing Addy
And I've always wanted to play XCOM.
Roger
Oh, XCOM is fun.
Blessing Addy
You should play some tactical 2026.
Roger
I don't like this.
Blessing Addy
Think about it. I'm just gonna put it out there in 2026. I said yes.
Roger
And you.
Blessing Addy
I'm not in 2026. Starting in January, but, like, when we get back. When we get back from vacation. So probably sometime around the 6th of.
Roger
January says Gaia completed switch 2.
Blessing Addy
I did play 13 sentinels and I loved it. And that is kind of tactical. Yeah. Let's move on to story number two. Yakuza Kiwami 3 is coming next year with new Dark Ties story expansion. This is Marcus Stewart at Game Informer. Like a Dragon developer RGG Studios held its RGG Summit livestream where it announced that 2009's Yakuza 3 is finally getting the Kiwami remake treatment. Not only that, but the game is getting a new story expansion called Dark Ties. The two experiences will be bundled together in a package dubbed Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties. Kiwami 3, like the previous titles, is a ground up remake of Yakuza 3 that features improved graphics and reworked brawling gameplay, such as the ability to swap between two fighting styles. Kiwami 3 also features a new team battle mode called Legendary Baddie Bad Boy Dragon. I knew a legendary baddie once.
Roger
I mean, you're making the joke. Yeah, like if you. Yeah, read. Read the next sentence.
Blessing Addy
Players work together to build a biker game to fight. Wait. Players work together to build a biker gang to fight alongside the Ryukyu Gal gang of female bikers to protect Okinawa.
Roger
Yeah, you're making a joke. That's exactly what it was. Oh, it's a bunch of baddies. And now for some reason, Kiryu is like the lead of these baddies and he's like the protector of them and like they just go on these massive team battles. It is insanity.
Blessing Addy
That's sick. Dark Ties is a standalone story expansion starring Yakuza 3 antagonist Yoshitaka Mine. Set in Kemurocho, it serves as a prequel to Yakuza 3's events that tells mine's origin story and how and why he joined the Yakuza. Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties launches on February 12, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Switch 2, PS4 and PC. Roger.
Roger
Wow. We knew about Kwami 3. That was leaked online.
Blessing Addy
Yep.
Roger
I can't imagine how excited RGG was that that was the only thing that leaked it. Dark Ties being part of this. And they kept on saying, this is a new game within Kwami 3. It's a dual pack video game for the one price. And having Dark Tides be its own thing. And it is not a dual protagonist video game necessarily. You're not switching between them and it's not part of one larger story. It is a separate experience. But it being a separate prequel for the antagonists of Yakuza 3 gives it a lot of meaning for fans, but it also gives honestly a way in for newcomers who want to just play a standalone experience. Right. You, absolutely, from what I'm gathering here, can just play Dark Ties by itself. If you just want to kind of see what the vibes are of Yakuza for probably what I assume is a smaller, more serious experience that you then can parlay into either playing Yakuza 3 Kwame, or going back and playing Zero or whatever it is any time we have an entry point into the franchise that is not just Zero, I think is is for the better. So Dark Ties being included here, huge surprise and really exciting here.
Blessing Addy
Hell yeah. Well, Roger, that's not all for Yakuza News, because story number three Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is Chris Scolion at VGC. RGG has confirmed that the three Yakuza games currently associated with Switch 2 are also coming to other formats. Zero Director's Cut, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 will all be coming to PS5, Xbox and Steam, the studio has announced. Zero Director's Cut is an enhanced version of Yakuza 0, which was released as a Switch 2 launch title exclusive to Nintendo's console. Kiwami and Kiwami 2 remakes of the first two games in the series were originally released in 2016 and 2017. Both remakes have been released on PS4 and Xbox One and can therefore be played on current gen platforms via backward compatibility. However, with both games coming to switch two on the 13th. On November 13th, RGG has decided that other formats shouldn't be left out, meaning Kiwami and Kiwami 2 will be coming to PS5 and Xbox a month later on December 8th, the same day as Yakuza 0 director's cut.
Roger
Lot of Yakuza stuff. Yeah, Yakuza 0 director's cut coming out on different platforms makes a lot of sense. I mean that's a. They put a lot of work into that one. They added English vo, they added whole new modes, multiplayer stuff like that was inevitably gonna go everywhere. So yeah, overall, if you bear. If you have a quick second, can you look up the RGG direct? Because I just want to show you how cool this is. Like the coolest people ever are working on these games. And like, I mean you have to.
Blessing Addy
Be cool to work.
Roger
You imagine they like their vibes are. It's exactly what you think it is. Like, it's just the coolest people in the world. Like red lighting. Like they're, they're recording this in like some type of like sake lounge. Like oh my God, skip ahead to the second guy. Like it's so fucking sick. But yeah, I watched this last night and it's great stuff. And it's surprised a little bit because RGG is working on so much stuff. Virtual Fighter, they're working on Stranger Than Heaven, they're working on so many games. So the fact that they're focusing in on yakuza for the 20th anniversary, of course, but it makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it's just so cool. They're.
Blessing Addy
They're people in the world. Yeah. I was surprised. I was expecting to hear some more Virtua Fighter news and it seems like we got nothing out of the, out of this. And then also Stranger Than Heaven did have a segment where they showed like a little bit of behind the scenes.
Roger
Like a few minute ending. Yeah. Have a little teaser of like, hey, this is the next big thing that we're working on, which I think is sick.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
Here we're showing it. But yeah, Kwame 3 is much needed. We talked about this, I believe last week of like the rumors and where we were at with that. But the whole thing with, with Yakuza 3 from what I've gathered, is that that game's awesome. The combat's pretty bad, so. Or. Or not as beloved as the other Yakuza entries. So the fact that they have now added two separ stances, they have kind of brought it up to the snuff of where the rest of the Yakuza franchise is. And they're also changing a lot of the story, fine tuning stuff and making sure that the performances are redone. This all sounds like a huge win. I haven't played Yakuza 3, so this is my first time. I'm very excited. Very, very excited.
Blessing Addy
I guess there hasn't been a modern way to experience it.
Roger
No.
Blessing Addy
So what about. What's the most modern version of Yakuza 4?
Roger
Yakuza 4?
Blessing Addy
Is it just Yakuza 4 and the 4? Because it feels like they're doing their best to try and make the entire series. We're gonna go all the way in a modern way.
Roger
Yeah. Hopefully.
Blessing Addy
That's really cool.
Roger
It's really cool stuff. So. Hell yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited to get my hands on it.
Blessing Addy
Plus, oh yeah. Somebody in chat was like, what if we made it? Made 2026 the year of Yakuza. Bless. Maybe I don't. I'VE tried.
Roger
Okay.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, we've said it several times. I tried.
Barrett
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
How about, I want to play stranger.
Roger
It's tough because I. I want you to play Zero. And I think that's so fun. I think you would love Zero. If you just put your time into it. You would love it. But also, depending on how good Dark Ties is, you might want to play Dark Ties. I'm waiting because the pitch behind this one, which I think is such a fudgeing, melodramatic and insane pitch, is again, I don't know who this guy is. Mine. I don't know this character, right? Apparently, he's the bad guy. Yakuza 3. But he is the head of a company. He's like a millionaire head of, like, some business in a traditional, like, actual business, like a legal business in Japan. He gets kicked out of his company because of some fucking boardroom drama. They just. It's a succession, right? They kick him out. And then he sees, when he's on the street, a yakuza situation. He sees, like, all of the Yakuza, like, protecting their leader. And then he just is like a bystander, right? He sees this go down with Daigo. And then he. His next new mission is that he wants to be part of the Yakuza because he sees loyalty and he sees. He sees everybody, like, actually there for one purpose and, like, loyalty, and they actually care about each other. And he. He wants that. He doesn't want money, he doesn't want power, he wants loyalty.
Blessing Addy
And it's like, dude, that's pretty sick, actually.
Roger
And it's like really dark. And he's like. It's like the first time they've had, like, a true, like, anti hero as the main protagonist. Like, we've had Majima, but, like, honestly, Majima is just a good guy in Yakuza 0. Like, this is a true. Like, this guy might be bad, and you're playing as him. And it's. It's solid stuff.
Blessing Addy
I think Yakuza as a franchise might always be my white whale of, like, the thing that I'd want to get into.
Roger
But it's not that hard to get into, though. It really is. I like, if you play Zero, it's. You're in, you're done. Bang.
Blessing Addy
Here's the thing. People said that about seven. People said that about eight.
Roger
No, I'm telling.
Blessing Addy
No, everyone.
Roger
No, no one says it about this thing. People say it about Zero.
Blessing Addy
The ones that I've tried chat super chatting on what next year should be the year of Europe. What is next year? The year of. And don't you dare say GTA 6, because we know, all right?
Roger
We know.
Blessing Addy
But around GTA. What do you mean? GTA 6? Not happening. GTA 6. Don't you put that out there in the world, all right? You watch your mouth.
Roger
What is GTA 6? 2027. Rolls off the tongue.
Blessing Addy
It kind of. No, it doesn't. I was gonna say it kind of does. No, it doesn't. Write in what year next. Next year is the year of Digimon. For now though, I want to tell you about patreon.com kind of funny and YouTube.com kind of funny games where you can get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. And we're back. I want to pull up some super chats for you. John Alexander writes in and says think we get a release date for mixtape today at the day to play. I didn't get it yesterday at or didn't get it yesterday at Annapurna Showcase still slated for 2025. I think if we don't see it today then I gotta figure out how to drop it for my fantasy critic. And I can't counterfeit it.
Barrett
Yeah, because I. I also had the feeling. I was like, I don't know. That game's coming out this year. Looks sick. Sick as hell though.
Blessing Addy
Who's publishing Possessors? That's what I want to know. Devolver okay, so I mean, yeah, if we. I guess that's another one where. If we don't see it today. Delayed where I'm kicking that off my fans.
Barrett
Do you have a free kick?
Blessing Addy
Like yeah, I don't think I've dropped anything yet.
Barrett
Oh wow. Yeah, I had. I would say draw Possessors.
Blessing Addy
What would you say?
Barrett
I would say drop Possessors.
Blessing Addy
I mean, we'll see after today.
Roger
I mean, Mike has a pickup. You drop it, gets an announcement right now.
Blessing Addy
Mike picks it up and he gets announced at the state of play. That'd be awesome. Everything processes on Saturday. Anyway, story number four days before release, Borderlands 4 is indefinitely delayed on Switch 2. This is Andy Robinson at VGC. Gearbox has indefinitely delayed the release of Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 just one week ahead of its planned October 3 release date. Announce the news on social media. The developer said it had decided the Switch 2 version needs additional development time and that it does not take this decision lightly. It did not provide an explanation for why the decision has been made so close to the Switch 2 version's planned release, but it does say all digital pre orders will now be canceled in accordance with Nintendo Eshop policy. Quote we need to share that the Release of Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 is being delayed, the statement reads. Quote we do not take this decision lightly, but are committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans and the game needs our addition needs additional development and polished. Time to do that. Our hope is to also, also better align this release with the addition of cross saves, which we are working on and recognize is very important. We'll update you all on the rel. On the new release timing once we fully adjusted our plans. End quote. That sounds real bad.
Roger
Yeah, that doesn't sound good at all. Real, real bad. Yeah. I wonder why it was lit. I wonder what.
Blessing Addy
I mean. Game breaking bug. You imagine.
Roger
Sure. Didn't people play it like at some event and they were like, it didn't run well.
Barrett
But also, didn't it launch on like PCs and not run well?
Roger
Yeah, absolutely. You know, I was making a joke. Yeah. It's performance. Performance is the. Is the issue here.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Barrett
We'll find Randy is going to come out and he's gonna give us all the answers and it's somehow gonna be your fault.
Roger
Yeah, it's gonna be. It's gonna be.
Blessing Addy
When you buy a switch too, you thought you're gonna play Borderlands. You're not gonna play Borderland. It's a premium game for premium gamers.
Roger
This is a little tablet.
Blessing Addy
We're not gonna play Borderland. Realize, I know we announced it, but, like, why'd you. You believe it? It's your fault. I'm a magician, not a miracle worker. Yeah.
Roger
This shit wouldn't happen.
Blessing Addy
The.
Roger
The wild thing about this. Yeah. It's a week out. And then also I saw somewhere that if you delay a game on. On any of these shops. I know, specifically on the eShop, it just cancels all preorders.
Blessing Addy
Yes. Yeah, Gotcha. My bad. Which is crazy.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Because like, you would think that for 2K and for gearbox. Right. It's like, hey, we got to keep these pre orders.
Roger
Oh, yeah. Or maybe those pre orders just weren't.
Blessing Addy
Oh. Or maybe the pre orders were.
Roger
I don't know how many people are actually pre ordering Borderland on a switch too. I don't know.
Blessing Addy
Yeah. But I would think the last thing you want to do is let go of people who have already bought into buying the thing. And so, yeah, for them to delay it, especially this late in the game. Oh, so some rough.
Roger
Something rough definitely too. No date on it.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
Yeah. I. I wonder when. If it comes out. Even this year.
Blessing Addy
I wonder if it comes out.
Roger
Oh, interesting.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
I mean. Yeah, because I think they have the only. I was trying to look for physical stuff and it seems like there is one. But it's just a game key card. Right. So that doesn't mean too much. But I mean, still, it is a physical thing that they have to make. So I don't know if they've already produced those or whatever that looks like, but yeah, interesting stuff. Cloud version. It's funny. That'd be awesome.
Blessing Addy
Well, I see we released it. It's in the cloud.
Roger
It's out. It's out, right?
Blessing Addy
You thought you were gonna play this on your machine?
Roger
No, just put it on the vita.
Blessing Addy
Buy a 15, put it on the Vita and it'll barely run on that too. Let's move on to story number five. Ladies gentlemen and bees, we got a preview for you. A Pokemon preview. A Pokemon Z to a preview coming at you from the one, the only Tim Muh Buggin Geddes.
Tim Geddes
What a day it is. Oh my God. We got previews of Pokemon ZA reviews of Hades 2. A state of play. Is today the day that we get Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3?
Blessing Addy
Whoa.
Tim Geddes
Is it.
Blessing Addy
I mean, is it crazy?
Roger
Think about it.
Tim Geddes
I know, I know it's crazy. I'm just saying. I was thinking of like as I was driving into work today, I was like, what is the most get hyp thing for me? Like, what is the most like, I don't expect it to be there, but it possibly could.
Blessing Addy
I honestly. I'm with you. They do be announcing these Final Fantasy 7 Remake games. Like back.
Tim Geddes
It's been a while.
Blessing Addy
It has been a year and a half almost. Come on. Yeah, maybe. Tell me about Pokemon.
Tim Geddes
Oh, let me tell you about Pokemon. I got to go to Perry. Paris, France. That's why I was there. I couldn't say that until now. That's how embargoes work. Very weird.
Blessing Addy
No way. We couldn't say that until now.
Tim Geddes
No, no, no, no. Yeah, I did a whole Pokemon Go thing, but that was separate from the Po Pokemon Z. I did get to play Pokemon Za for an hour. This is the longest anyone's been able to play it thus far. There's the 10 minute demo, 20 minute demo that Gamescom and Pax goers got to do. This one is different. It was a full hour essentially broken up into four different chunks. I would say one of them was the wild area, which is kind of just the more Roman catching Pokemon, battling the wild guys that are just around then getting into the Za Royale, which is when night hits. You're going through kind of this like cool dark alley. They're not really dark alleys. All the alleys look exactly the same. Fighting a bunch of the different trainers to get your your rank up.
Blessing Addy
That's where the Z day happens.
Tim Geddes
Exactly. And Then once you get enough points, you then get to actually face off against somebody that's officially ranked in the the Z to A. And that was thrilling. Real big fan of that. Then we got to do one of the rogue Mega Evolution Pokemon battles, which is like bigger raid type things where it's you and a couple others facing off against bigger dudes. I faced off against Omega Victory Bell. That was as horrifying looking as it was in the original debut trailer featured in. And then after that, we kind of got to go back to the wild area, but with the experience that we had with the other three sections. So it kind of really reframed my first time playing that part just because it was like I had a much better understanding of how the battle system works. Because let me tell you this. Plus, yeah, this game is not what you expect in a lot of ways. And the preview that I did was absolutely not what I expected. This preview very much felt like a message to games media that, like, this ain't your father's Pokemon. Like, and you look at it and you're kind of like, all right, cool. It's active combat. Right. Very different from the turn base we're used to seeing. But you can't see it because my stupid face is blocking it. But you have your little. Your moves in the bottom, right. That are kind of like tied to the face buttons and has that kind of MMO style battle, like with the cooldowns for the moves. And, you know, from what we've seen from the trailers and stuff, we can kind of put together, like, what it would feel like to play and it would feel kind of button mashy to an extent of just like, wait for the cooldown to go and then you just. Just keep going.
Blessing Addy
Yep.
Tim Geddes
If you do that, you're gonna lose. Like, this game is. I don't want to say it's hard, but it's way harder than I expected. The Wild Pokemon and the things you're facing off against are using way more status moves than I would have expected. Way more than I've even really experienced in a Pokemon game in 30 years.
Blessing Addy
Wow.
Tim Geddes
Where, like, they're using things to lower defense and higher strength.
Blessing Addy
They're growling at you.
Tim Geddes
They're growling. And it's. It's cool. And it incentivizes you to. To immediately think differently and be on your feet. There's also a lot more depth to the battles and the attacks than I expected. There are plus moves for a bunch of moves. So in addition to having, like, bite, I don't know this. Exactly. But yeah, yeah, but bite has it next to it. You see the little plus that you can use your Mega Evolution energy. Your Mega Energy instead of Mega Evolving Pokemon, which when you do that, all of your moves become the plus versions. You can just use some of the gauge to have just plussed up attacks or plussed up versions of your attacks, which could be coming really clutch when you're facing off against some of the Pokemon. Because one of my favorite moments of the the demo was you're in the wild area. You're just kind of going around catching a bunch of the little dudes, fighting them here and there. It's very fluid. Like Legends Arceus was where you can just walk around and throw a ball without battling them. But battling them obviously makes it easier to wear them down and then throw the ball. But I came across a bunch of little Houndoors.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Tim Geddes
And little, little dogs, the dark dogs from Gen 2. And I was these things up. But then their mom came.
Blessing Addy
Oh no.
Tim Geddes
And the Hound doom. And she fucked my day up, man. She came through and was just ripping my Pokemon apart. And I'm like, oh my God, I am not leveled up, up enough for this. And I had to kind of go back, come back at her. I eventually took her down, but it was like a genuine surprise. And there was a fear bless. When this thing started running at me. I'm like, you're way too fast for me right now. But yeah, it was way more like active than I expected. I thought it was gonna be active battle, but still kind of like a chill experience.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, Like I'm just pushing buttons to do this.
Tim Geddes
It was way more of like, I'm locked into this. And it, it. I hate to say this, but I have to say it. It gave you that feeling where you're like, I feel like I'm in the anime. Like, I feel like I'm actively calling out like, do this. Your trainers running around too, to dodge the attacks. I was like, I kind of fuck with this heavy. Like, it was way more impressive and way more fun than I expected going in. So, yeah, I'm coming away very high on this. Which I kind of expected to like it. But I'm like, oh, there's. There's really something here, is there?
Blessing Addy
Between the sections that you experience, Right. The wild area, the dark alleys, and then fighting the rogue Pokemon. Did you have a favorite? It.
Tim Geddes
It really was a cumulative experience of like being able to do them back to back and just kind of like learning the systems and how. I was very happy with how much more I enjoyed the wild area coming back to it after getting a better understanding because yeah, like the. The Houndoom kicked my ass and then I played these other bits. When I came back, I kicked its ass.
Blessing Addy
Does it feel like there's a synergy between the two?
Tim Geddes
It really does. And you know know, it's not perfect. I. I do want to know how long that the. The thrill is going to. To last until it just becomes like I know exactly what I'm doing and it just does just feel like I'm just hitting buttons and moving on. When you're in the Za Royale section where you're kind of like trying to get all the points, it functions very similarly to the Blueberry points that they had in the second round of DLC for the Indigo disc for Scarlet and Violet, where you're going around and doing a bunch of of kind of like subtasks to gain enough points to move up the next level. So it'll be things like use five electric moves or you know, use 10 status effect attacks or whatever. And it's like those different goals are like constantly shifting and changing. So you can pull up a menu and like you can kind of min. Max your way to get up to the next level a lot faster. And then going around the world too. There's like a lot of items you can collect. There's a lot of like secret areas to go to. There's no fall damage. I jumped off a roof and I was totally fine. My little rotom phone like brought me down. I'm trying to think of what else I need to hit on here. Performance wise, it ran well. Like it was. We played it on Switch 2 and nothing about the performance or the sharpness of the visuals seemed off to me. It seems like, all right, cool. This is going to be great. In the same way that Scarlet and Violet now on the Switch two runs great. Very similar. I will say, just visually, like, I'm still not into this game. Like I. I really don't like the look of it. And this didn't sway me to.
Blessing Addy
I remember coming out of my same way. I don't like the art style. Yeah.
Tim Geddes
But I will say that one of the criticisms I have is just how every single building looks identical. And being in Paris, I was like, oh, that's just how this place is so very, very accurate. It does that not make a good call to make your entire game in one city? That every single street looks pretty much the same. Time will tell, you know. But yeah, I. I am coming out of this way less trepidatious than I was going in. And I. I do love just how different this feels to the core Pokemon games, but I feel like they're trying to not just try something different, but to like, create a new mold of what Pokemon games. A different line of Pokemon games can be even more so than legends. Arceus, like his Legends rc, still had the DNA of the. The Pokemon games. This. I feel like the active battling is going to really, really, really hit for people.
Blessing Addy
Oh, yeah.
Tim Geddes
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Well, Tim, thank you so much for your preview.
Tim Geddes
Thank you.
Blessing Addy
I'm very. I'm kind of. I'm more excited for this game coming out of this. Yeah.
Tim Geddes
Ah, here's Roger.
Blessing Addy
Roger, get back over here. As we close out with story number six, the latest Mario Kart World update makes tracking its open world collectibles easier. This is Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. A new update for Mario Kart World has released which adds a much requested feature to the game's open world exploration. According to the version 1.3.0 patch notes, Mario Kart World's map will now show the locations of P switches and peach medallions on the in game map map. Rather than showing them all, however, it merely shows the ones players have already collected, meaning they'll still have to explore to find new ones. Sure. The update, which is now out, also makes other changes, such as making it easier to encounter UFOs in the game's free roam mode. Traditional lap courses will also now appear more frequently during online races. Man, Mario Kart World, buried in the back of. You can hear it says, just in time. Right? Like, well, it's cool for people. Yeah. Not that, like, people aren't playing Mario Kart World. People will always be playing Mario Kart World because it's a Mario Kart game. But I just find it. No, I just find the updates so interesting though.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Because they make updates that are this major, this late in the game. Barrett steps up to the plate and.
Barrett
It'S like this major. But like, is it really that major?
Blessing Addy
You know, I mean, that's good.
Barrett
I mean, like, is it something that's like, tantalizing enough to have Mario Kart sickos like myself come back?
Blessing Addy
Oh, man. It's major enough, though, where I'm like, why didn't you just launch with this? You know, like, this didn't seem like a.
Barrett
And why is it the opposite of like, you're gonna show me the things on the map after? I don't know. That's a weird. That's also a weird call.
Blessing Addy
It seems like a quality of life thing that, like. Yeah, I would have just expected to be there from the start. No, it's like, it is like a small thing. I don't know. It just seems weird. I'm like, all right, cool. They added this. Yeah.
Barrett
So waiting for Donkey Kong dlc.
Blessing Addy
We'll get that. We'll get that eventually. Will we? Roger. Hi, Mario Kart World. I imagine at some point we'll get big updates. No, gigantic updates. Huge updates. The biggest. But if I wanted something smaller, say, the tiniest news I need to know about. Where'd I go?
Roger
Well, Blessing, you'll go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Blessing Addy
Story number seven is WE news. Annapurna announced three games yesterday. We should also call. It's been, it's been Tokyo Game show week, and so there's been a lot of.
Roger
That's the reason why we're talking about.
Blessing Addy
A lot of news coming out of TGs, such as the Yakuza stuff. They're like new Capcom trailers as well and stuff. Annapurna announced three new games. They are people of note that that game was announced for Xbox, PS5 and PC. We have demi and the Fractured Dream, announced for Xbox Series PS5, Switch 1 and 2 and PC. PC and Dtopia announced for Xbox Series PS5, Switch 1 & 2 and PC.
Roger
Cool stuff.
Blessing Addy
A new Stellar Blade update, which includes new quests, is now available on PS5, coming to PC on September 30th.
Roger
I gotta play this game.
Blessing Addy
Stellar Blade.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
No, you don't.
Roger
Okay, but I see the clips.
Blessing Addy
I mean, if you see the clips and you're like, I want to play that, then yes, play it. Because it is what it looks like and it is pretty good. But also, it's like, I'm not looking at anybody being like, oh, go out of your way to play Stellar blade. Stellar Blade 2. I feel like it's gonna be a banger when that drops, though. Stellar Blade 1 is such a good. Hey, we set the table. You know what I mean? Like, we, we got something here. It needs, I, I, it needs more going on for, like, story and like, I could see combat improvements.
Roger
Like, it's fun though.
Blessing Addy
It's.
Tim Geddes
It's a X Men.
Blessing Addy
Whoa. What's happening, bears? Bears is X Men.
Roger
We need to get.
Blessing Addy
Ah, come on.
Roger
Go get ready. Are you ready, bub? It's time. Wolverine. Today, PlayStation State of Play. You heard a shirtless spider man bum was shirt too tight.
Blessing Addy
Wolverine. Jesus Christ. Yeah. I just got, like, goosebumps from that.
Roger
Good. How you doing?
Blessing Addy
I'm excited.
Roger
Yeah. I'm excited for it not to be.
Blessing Addy
Did he shave? Yeah, he did.
Roger
Man. Cole's freaking out.
Blessing Addy
Cole was barking like he was a much bigger dog to the point where I started to get scared.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Where I was like, is Cole gonna come here and bite me? Jesus Christ. That was a lot. My heart is beating.
Roger
Shirt to tight. Wolverine, everybody.
Blessing Addy
Wow.
Roger
Sure. Too tight Wolverine.
Blessing Addy
Anyway. Yeah, no, Stellar Blade is pretty good. I think they'll do better than the sequel. If you want to play it, you should play it, but it's not like a. You know.
Roger
Yeah.
Blessing Addy
It's not a must play.
Roger
Must play. Yeah.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, man. That took a lot out of me.
Roger
Yeah, that was. That took a few years off my lifespan.
Barrett
Batman, Logan.
Blessing Addy
Someone said. Yeah, silly. X Poly Beast launches this October on Xbox and PS4 and PS5 and PC. And then finally, Biped 2 launches November 5th on Xbox, PS4, PS5 and PC. I played Biped 1. I really like that biped again.
Roger
What is this?
Blessing Addy
It's like a little fun, like, puzzle platformery co op game where you play a little robot.
Roger
What do you.
Blessing Addy
What?
Roger
You live a different life sometimes. The other day. I don't want to spoil anything, but. Yeah. What are you doing?
Blessing Addy
You're the last person who's allowed to ask.
Roger
Yes, I will. Would.
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
You're better than me.
Blessing Addy
No, this is a good game. IPad1 is a good game.
Roger
You. I don't want to spoil anything, but. Yeah. On another program that we pre recorded, you told me about, what was the game you said that you played? Oh, it was the beat.
Blessing Addy
Tori.
Roger
No, Tory. Yeah, yeah. Tori too. You're like, I played Tory. What have it on my switch. I'm like, what are you talking about right now?
Blessing Addy
Yeah.
Roger
What's wrong with Tory too doing what's happening right now?
Blessing Addy
Listen, I have a part of me for trying to learn and play different and new games. All right. Yes.
Roger
I'm glad you pardoned yourself. My.
Blessing Addy
Is this my job or not?
Roger
Stick to the status quo.
Blessing Addy
I just want to be. I want to be in the musical and I want to play basketball at the same time. Is that too much to ask?
Roger
Hate that.
Blessing Addy
That is it for WE news. Let's take one more look at Super Chats before we get out of here. Kebab says, did they restart Borderlands 4 on Switch? That'll fix it. I appreciate kebabs because kebabs be sassy sometimes.
Roger
Yeah, it should be sassy sometimes. Sometimes.
Blessing Addy
All the Time. Sorry, what did you say?
Roger
Oh, yeah, people in the chat earlier were asking about. They're like, we news already? I'm like, yeah, we. Sorry, Everybody. We started 30 minutes early.
Blessing Addy
Yes, yes. Those are people that came in a little late. Kevin T. Says, need your thoughts on the Animula Nook trailer in your own time. I respect your decisions and love you guys. My 10th anniversary shirt got here today.
Roger
Hell, yeah.
Blessing Addy
Nice. I don't know what Animula Nook is, but I guess Barrett, if we have.
Barrett
The time, I think this was another possibly Annapurna.
Roger
Oh, okay.
Barrett
Title. Maybe something. Maybe something else.
Blessing Addy
Hold on. Hey, hold on.
Roger
Hey, yo. Oh, Arts.
Blessing Addy
Okay. Art style.
Roger
Doke B. Oh, no. I'm a little scared.
Blessing Addy
Okay, visuals.
Roger
What's the name of this game?
Blessing Addy
Animula Nook. Okay, whimsical. What's going on here?
Barrett
Like, Animal Crossing.
Blessing Addy
Oh, yeah, I can't tell.
Roger
No, this seems like a.
Blessing Addy
But like, gotcha.
Roger
Yeah, maybe everything's Animal Crossing now.
Blessing Addy
I. I saw the art style. I got excited. I see the gameplay.
Roger
I know these very pretty. I know this very, very pretty right now. Hold on.
Barrett
We'll get Joey on a stream for it.
Blessing Addy
Maybe Nick. This is for sure an animal crossing.
Roger
What is.
Blessing Addy
But also like a visually stunning one, though. Hold on. It's called Anim. It's called Animula Nook. That seems like a Tom Nook. Yeah, like Tom Nook and animals.
Roger
It's in the world of Lillipudin, which I don't know what. Oh, it's a Gulliver.
Blessing Addy
This Travels things thing, Man, y' all be. I feel like Nintendo's gonna get fed up with y'. All. Y' all are pushing Nintendo to the brink.
Roger
No, but this is a different thing. This is in the world of Gulliver Travels.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, you put Nook in the title.
Roger
They don't own the word Nook.
Blessing Addy
Yeah, but, like, it's very clearly an animal crossing.
Roger
But also Nintendo owns, like, the right to walk in a video game now, so that's fair.
Blessing Addy
I'm also all for people making, like, I was gonna say spin offs, but I guess inspired games by other things make more Animal Crossing.
Barrett
Do you think they go after this game first or the US Government for using the Pokemon?
Roger
This game game. For sure. They're not going to do anything about that.
Blessing Addy
The nerdy giant writes in and says so. Curious with rumors about it. About it. Haven. Oh, I see. About Haven being closed down. Grain of salt. But do you think Sony may change strategy for live service or abandon it altogether? I Don't see them abandoning the strategy. And I don't think it's a strategy that needs abandoning. I think it's a strategy that, yeah, needs changing. Like, strong changing from like an ethos perspective of what does live service mean to us? Life Service can't be. We're chasing after making hero shooters and we're chasing after making extraction and trying to, like, find a Fortnite. It can't be that. It has to be. What are the. What are the niches, Slash? What are the things that feel like we have fits for? I think Marvel took on Fighting Souls. I know that's like, not necessarily something that you necessarily look at and go, oh, that's a live service thing. But that's the game they're going to have. That's multiplayer online. Gonna have dlc, could have a battle pass, could have ongoing support for that. Is going to have an audience. I think that's an inspired take on it. I look at games like a Gran Turismo or an MLB the Show, which I know are kind of in the conversation. Kind of aren't in the conversation, but you have these things that are. That kind of fit the mold that you can continue to support and can continue to update in these ways that I think get that done. Yeah. Helldivers as well. So I think it's just a changing of perspective in ethos as far as, like, how you quote, unquote, chase Live service. I think it's something that needs to happen naturally to. For franchises and games that kind of already have that built into it.
Roger
Want to shout out Petite sweet treat. Who gifted out five subs on Twitch? That's really great.
Blessing Addy
Hell yeah.
Roger
We don't usually call that out, but I want to shout you out because if you're over there, you can get free no ads. So then you can watch our state of play live. So make sure to run up those Switch. I mean, those Twitch subs and make sure that you're able to watch without any interruptions.
Blessing Addy
That is it for super chats. Let's hop into your wrong rewrite in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong. All right, Kebabs. How do we block Kebabs's name? Right?
Roger
Yeah, I have to do that. Kebabs.
Blessing Addy
Let's see. Kazi Bay says Bless said there is no modern way to experience Yakuza 3, but Yakuza 3 Remastered is available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam. That's a really great year. Wrong. That I wish Kebabs could have gotten to because kebabs is over here being busy saying the next year is 2026. Kebabs, you know better. There are actual your wrongs that need to be righted.
Barrett
Next year is.
Blessing Addy
Thank you, Cosby. That's what they wrote in. That's what she wrote in. Yeah. That next year is 20. Because I asked, what is the year? What is next year going to be? What's the theme of next year? And she was. She's in here getting sassy again.
Roger
She made fun of the way I pronounced sake.
Blessing Addy
She also said shirt too tight. Wolverine's shirt is loose. Come on, guys.
Barrett
Kebabs, you're on thin ice.
Blessing Addy
You're on thin ice, kebabs. This episode's on tonight because it's almost over. See?
Roger
Hey, come on.
Blessing Addy
