Fellas, you know degree Cool Rush deodorant, right? Well, last year they changed the formula and guys were mad about it. One dude even started a petition. So guess what? Degree heard us, admitted they messed up and brought the original Cool Rush scent back exactly how it was. And it's in Walmart, Target and other stores now for under $4. So grab some and remember why its cool, crisp and fresh scent made it the number one man's antiperspirant for the last decade. Degree Cool Rush is back and it smells like victory for all of us.

Today's stories include EA sees big layoffs and cancels another titanfall. Nintendo may have made another weird decision with Switch and Lost Soul aside has finally been delayed. We'll have all this and more because this is kind of funny. Games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kinda Funny Games daily for Wednesday, April 30, 2025. One of your host, Blessing Adioye Jr. Joining me is WWE legend Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
Hey Blessing. How are you? Doing?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Well. How are you doing?
Greg Miller
Good. It's good to see you. It's been too long.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I know. I feel like I don't host one on one with you as often anymore.
Greg Miller
Well, no, it's cuz you're always gone or I'm always gone or there's some sick kid I got to worry about or you're on some Japan trip or whatever. It's just there's like on top of us wanting to shake it up, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Share the Greg. Share the bless with these idiots out there, you know what I mean? I think it's just we've had like two weeks here of really shaking up schedules.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean I think. Is that also the fact that we don't have P.S. i love you anymore.
Greg Miller
Oh, sure. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So it's been over a year now of like we don't. We used to host together weekly and now like I. Not that I've lost the chemistry, but it does feel weird now being in the host seat with you.
Greg Miller
Come on, we can never lose this chemistry. What are you talking about right now? Look at this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Look at this.
Greg Miller
That's what it's all about.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Greg, how you been? How's the sick kid? Is he better?
Greg Miller
I mean, who knows? So I don't know if you know, the fire stations are now safe surrender sites where you can just drop off a kid no questions asked. It's just for babies. It's like prom night baby thing. No, Ben's good. Ben's good. Yeah, he's better. Now, he did try to do that. Ben's very much an adult now. Now, did I.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This three year old is an adult yesterday.
Greg Miller
Did I go too far and think he's an adult? Yes, I did.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You're like, oh, you got to pay rent now?
Greg Miller
No. Well, so yesterday, like, you know. So Ben's been sick the past few days. Just a head cold, nothing crazy. So we went and saw Thunderbolts Monday night. I told him, of course, I got to go. I got to go to work tonight. I'm gonna go see a movie. Okay. We wake up, he slept in our bed because he's sick, right? So we wake up Tuesday morning, and he, like, rubs his sleep from his eyes and he looks over, he goes, how's the movie? And I was like, that's an absurd question for a three year old to ask his father in bed. I'm like, the movie?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Was Chris Scale like, the first thing he thinks of too?
Greg Miller
And I was like, the movie was. It was really good, Ben. We liked it a lot. He's like, cool. He's like, what is it? And I'm like, it's superheroes. Like, is Batman in it? I'm like, no. And I had to start explaining DC Marvel stuff. He just thinks they're all in the same universe right now. Idiot. But yeah, we did that. But then. So then, you know, I stayed home with him yesterday as well. I did morning shift, Gen did afternoon. And so we went and ran errands because, again, he's not sick.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But.
Greg Miller
But it was like, especially yesterday. But it was like, okay, the school's policy is, you know, a day since the fever broke is when he can come to school or whatever. And the fever had broke late in the day Monday. So I was like, all right, we're screwed. And so we went out and, like, we're chilling out. And he was like, can I get a monster truck at Target? I'm like, well, you're gonna be good at Costco. He's like, yeah. And he was great at Costco. I'm like, ah, let's go get a monster. You know, we're having a great time. We're chatting it up. He's telling me stories about his monster truck. It's great.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow.
Greg Miller
And so then we went and got. We were gonna pick up lunch on the way home. So we went in the restaurant. Nick the Greek went up, and I was like, hey, you know, order for Greg. Like, oh, it's not ready. I'm like, oh, no problem. So the only tables they had were high tops and so I put him in the high top chair across from me and we sat there like we're at Buffalo Wild Wings, just chatting about his cars and this. He's like, dad, when I get home, I'm going to hide him in my shirt. I'm going to. Mom won't see it coming. Like, that's a great prank, Ben. That's a really good one. I love this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Ben has a lot to say.
Greg Miller
Oh, dude, Ben, talk you guys first. I've even seen him a lot. But when you do, there's always that I'm in the office and all the uncles and aunts is here, so it's like I'm quiet because I'm trying to get a vibe. And like, you know, even then when he does start talking, he's super excited. You know what I mean? Like, kids are way different when they're just in their usual thing. But he's playing. I'm like, all right, cool. And the guy's like, oh, order for Greg. And I'm like, cool. I got up, hop down, grabbed the bag. I turn around, Ben is on the ground, clearly stunned. And it was that he totally saw me hop down. He's like, oh, we're hopping down. He hopped down and you know, for him it's like four stories. He went down, landed on his ass, and I looked at him and he.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, my God.
Greg Miller
Then I picked it back up, like, did you hit your head? He's like, no, just my butt. I'm like, it was just scary. He's like, it was just scary. I'm like, yeah, yeah, I know. Sorry, I should have. That's a. You tricked me. You've been acting all day like, you know what's up. I forgot that you wouldn't know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, he's Tim Gettys still a child.
Greg Miller
Exactly.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
God.
Greg Miller
Today he's back to school. He's good. He did try to pull the, you know, like, are you ready? How you feeling? Great. You know, my throat's a little sore, but like, I'm like, how much sore? He's like, just a little. I'm like, okay, cool. And he had had a headache and all stuff, so he's fine.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's not old enough to where he would lie about that yet. Where he's like, I don't want to go.
Greg Miller
All right. And I'm like, cool, you're going to go preschool? Yeah, I'm going to go to preschool. Great. And then like, we're like, start packing. Like, wait, wait, am I not staying home with you guys? And like, no, no, you got to go to preschool. My head hurts. Oh, my God. No, I don't buy that. I'm like, you remember the boy who cried wolf? He's like, no. I'm like, well, I'm telling a fucking story again. Here it is. And then. You know what I mean? But then he was excited to go to work school today, and he had a great time when he walked in, so that's precious. Hopefully we get a fucking break because I'm tired and I need to work. Well, enough about Oblivion ain't playing itself.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
How much oblivion have you played?
Greg Miller
What? I'm like, 12 hours in now.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, nice. Yeah, I want to get into. I've not started it yet. It's the thing where I'm looking at my PS5 dashboard, and I mentioned this like, a million times, but, like, yeah, it is an embarrassment of riches where I'm still in blueprints mode. I was scared after the spoiler cast that I was going to, like, spoil it enough to where it's like, okay, well, I'm done with blueprints now because I know everything, and the. The spoiler cast is perfect to the extent of. It didn't spoil too much, and it gave me enough, like, things to chase.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Where now I'm like, oh, I got. I got to go back because Kevin told me about this thing. Huber told me about this thing.
Greg Miller
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Jan told me about this thing. So now I'm hooked all the way into that. But I want to play Oblivion just for the sense of. I've never touched that game, but I played quite a bit of Skyrim, and I'm getting the nostalgic feeling when I see it on my PS5 dashboard.
Greg Miller
Interesting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I mean, are you on. Are you going to touch. Are you on the review this Friday? I forget.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No.
Greg Miller
Okay. It'll be interesting to see what you say about it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, we'll see if I get.
Greg Miller
I don't think. I don't think it'll work for you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You don't think so?
Greg Miller
No.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Why?
Greg Miller
I mean, because it's. It's a Bethesda game, and it's an old Bethesda game now. Are all Bethesda games old? That's something we'll talk about on the review. But it's like, I think the things that have turned you off about Starfield or whatever might turn you off here to a degree.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, is that true if I. If I like Skyrim and if I love a Fallout?
Greg Miller
I don't know. And this is a big conversation. I want to have on it. Because, you know, my hypothesis has been that at some point people forgot who Bethesda was and they have been that whole thing of like, well, Fallout 4, well, Starfield. And they get them like, oh, this is a Bethesda game. And they forget again that like what it is. So it's like, I love a Bethesda game. I'm having a great time with Oblivion. I don't think I'll roll credits on Oblivion, not because I don't enjoy it. I think I'm just gonna play as much as I can for that review to talk about it and talk. Talk to Mike about it, who's like such an Oblivion kid and then me being such a Bethesda person. Fallout 3 on. But I think it'll be that there's so many other things I need to play, want to play and yada yada, yada. Like, I've got the itch back to go to Claire, get back to Expedition 33. I put four or five hours in, right? And then now I'm thinking I'm going to go through. I got that Rog Ally. I've been playing it on. I was playing on Steam, the Steam version on Rog Ally. Now what I'm thinking is start over, start on Xbox, start on the giant screen, have it be beautiful and then just do that. Because I did it the opposite way here.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I like that.
Greg Miller
But then it's like, then Tower Born.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
When is that out?
Greg Miller
It's out. It's. No, Tower Born is out. Yeah, we had the big crates of stuff yesterday. That makes sense.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, you're right.
Greg Miller
I'll share the assets while you do your intro. We can show them here or whatever. They're great stuff. And I went home and I was like, I should touch this too because it sounds cool. That I don't expect to stick with. Then I have the whole thing where I wanted to. My. My plan was on the trip to Pax in Montreal next week is that I was going to do my start my Outer Worlds playthrough because we're going to re review that at the end of the month to get ready for the Xbox Direct. And it's like, that's great. But what if I get hooked on Expedition 33? But then it's like, well, what if I get. When I get off Oblivion? I can just beat Expedition 33 in a week and be there. I don't know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.

Greg Miller
I am, yeah. You know what I mean. Borderlands 4 doesn't have a lot to prove. That doesn't sound right. But I'm in that perfect place right now where my hype for it is even keel. So if they come out today and they are like this is why you need to care about this game again, I think it'll go through the roof. As you know, somebody who loved Borderlands loves Borderlands period. But for some reason I'm just not like feeling the need. I'm not where I was with Borderlands 3. Blessing Adioye Jr.
Thank you to our Patreon producers Anatoly Ost Delaney Twining, Carl Jacobs and Omega Buster. Today we're brought to you by Imperial and Aura Frames.
Greg Miller
But before you get to the bad news, can we look at the Towerborn screenshots? I put in assets. So we got this gigantic crate of Towerborn stuff. Awesome. And then you open it up. Bam, there's all this. These are two wearable blankets. They gave out platinum codes and Xbox game pass codes, which by the way we don't need because we got codes through press. I'll put them up in my Blue sky after this or during ad break. Everybody will follow me on Blue sky and then if you want to go one more over it had cups, it had this basically gamer, you know, like goodie box you can put in there. You see it's branded kind of funny. But you put your drinks on it on your couch, basically your snacks in there, your phone in it. I was using the Game over Greggy one branded last night on my couch. I like it a lot. Then a whole bunch of snacks and stuff. So shout out to this. Of course they're pushing the couch co op of it all.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Nice. Yeah, I stole some of those chocolate pretzels.
Greg Miller
Dude.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I love some chocolate pretzels. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have five stories today, Baker's dozen, starting with our number one, a continuation from yesterday's news. Electronic Arts lays off hundreds, Cancels a Titanfall Game this is Jason Schreier at Bloomberg. Electronic Arts is laying off hundreds of workers and canceling a Titanfall game that was in development at Respawn Entertainment subsidiary. Between 300 and 400 positions were eliminated, including around 100 at Respawn, according to a person familiar with the cuts. The company had around or about 13,700 employees at the end of March 2024. Quote as part of our continued focus on our long term strategic priorities, we've made select changes within our organization that more effectively aligns with teams or sorry, aligns teams and allocates resources in service of driving future growth, justin Higgs, a spokesman for EA, said in a statement. The canceled project, codenamed R7, was an extraction shooter set in the Titanfall universe, according to people familiar with its development. It was not close to being released. In a post on social media, Respawn said it quote, made the decision to step away from two early stage incubation projects and made some and make some targeted team adjustments, end quote. The other project referenced in the statement was canceled earlier this year, the people said. Earlier this year, EA reduced its bookings estimate for the fiscal year following the miss of its latest soccer game, EA Sports FC 25, who needs FIFA? The company also shrunk subsidiary BioWare following the release of Dragon Age the Veilguard, which it said missed sales expectations by 50%. Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
Well, I'm sure Skate Free to Play is going to fix all this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I just hope we get Skate Free to play.
Greg Miller
We'll get there, we'll get there. Let's try. This is the usual what the fuck is going on in this industry? The suits, the trend chasing the yadda yadda, yadda. You know what I mean? Like, I appreciate that all the headlines are about like, they canceled another Titanfall game. You're like, fuck. And you get an extraction shooter. Like, okay, that kind of makes sense. Yeah. Like it's every trying to get into the extraction shooter business and seeing that that pool is already pretty, pretty full Flash.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Is Titanfall the most canceled franchise out of any video game? It's a tough one to try to.
Greg Miller
Figure out because like it's all we know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. But I feel like we've gotten the Bear Bear like alluded to it yesterday, right. Of like it feels like every year there's another report of, oh, they're making a Titanfall game and it sounds fucking awesome. Or they're making a Titanfall game and.
C
It'S coming out next year in 2026.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay. Yeah. And then, and then it gets canceled and then it happens and it's like a cycle of time falls back, time falls gone. Time falls back, Titan falls gone. Yeah.
Greg Miller
I mean, yeah, it might be somebody shouts out Star wars in terms of most canceled stuff.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, I guess franchise.
Greg Miller
Exactly. So it's like it's a, you know, loose term to throw around. But it is an interesting one. EA not believing in what Titanfall has been. We've had two Titanfall games, right. And even Titanfall 2, like now we're putting a single player in there. We're doing this thing. Sure. But then they keep trying to put it into different things. Even Apex, right. Started as being an idea of a Titanfall game. Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm not Apex Legends takes place in the Tidefall universe.
Greg Miller
So it's like they keep like, okay, fans don't want Titanfall, but what they. But they say they do. So what trend, what mobile, what thing can we shove into it to make it not a Titanfall game but have the Titanfall moniker.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that's not gonna make it a.
C
Thing that people, you know, didn't want from Titanfall. And then when it fails. Ah, man. See people don't want Titanfall.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Yeah. So that sucks. Obviously. Hearts and you know, in not prayers. But whatever our thoughts, that's what I'm looking for. Thoughts and hearts go out.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Our minds. Take my mind. You know, it can't help you to everybody who got laid off here. Right. It's just again, when you look. But you look at that number like the company had about 13,700 employees at the end of March. Holy shit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Which is wild.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But I mean, either way you look at 300, 400 to 400 people.
Greg Miller
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that's insane. 100 people being from Respawn, which we were having this debate yesterday of like, how big is Respawn?
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think there are typos between both Jeff Grubb and. And the IGN article.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because any of the IGN article mentioned that they had 100 people. So it must have been like, I imagine 300 to 400 people actually work at Respawn and we're seeing about a third, a quarter to a third of that workforce laid off. Which I would say devastating for though. Again, what we talked about yesterday, as far as who Respawn is as a studio, because you want to talk about Apex Legends. To me, Apex Legends was one of the best releases of 2019. Right. It was a battle royale game that came out, did everything right, I think. Innovated really well as far as what battle royale could be. Had excellent quality in terms of that map design and the different locations and the hero design and the ping system brought a lot to the space and was super quality and was exactly what people wanted out of that type of game and still kept a lot of the heart and soul out of what people liked from Titanfall specifically, like that game feel and how fun that game is to play and the gunplay.
Greg Miller
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like Apex Legends nailed so much of that and was such a success at first and I'll still say is still a success even if the numbers have just evened out and tempered out and not have sure.
Greg Miller
Generated it's not what it was when it launched or whatever.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, exactly. So you have that. You have the Star Wars Jedi series, which is a huge hit as far as being a single player, you know, big budget campaign game that people want, especially out of Star Wars. So you have those two things as Respawn and then you're seemingly trying to figure out a third pillar, a thing probably being Titanfall because you know, you're fan base wants a Titanfall game and you're not able to make Titanfall. Like I feel so. I feel so bad for the people at Respawn that have had to figure this out. As far as. Man, we've been killing it. Killing it, killing it. And it's just not enough for us. Yeah, for you, like, I guess. Where does Respawn go from here? Do you think that this is the beginning of the end? Do you think this is the beginning of, like, all right, Respawn is just going to be that studio that is part of ea, but they're not making these big swings like we've seen them, seen them make before.
Greg Miller
Well, I don't even know if a Titanfall extraction shooter would have been a big swing. That's the whole thing about it where it's like, I really. When you look at EA and you know, the financial headwinds we're in, like, what do I think this is? I think it's what you just said. It's them battening down the hatches. I don't think it's them coming up with a third pillar necessarily. It is. All right, Respawn, continue to make Star Wars. All right. Continue to make Apex iterate on those. And I'm sure there's some incubation there of what the next big thing would be, but how do we get Apex back to it with a bigger season? Is there a need for an Apex two or whatever the heck it would be to move on? But my bigger question for them would be. Titanfall 1 was an amazing game. Titanfall 1 was such a cool idea, if you remember. I know you were in probably first grade, but I made Alfredo Diaz that I do a whole series where he trained me to be a first person shooter because I liked Titanfall so much that I wanted to be competent at it. And I was. And I played it and I did a whole bunch of stuff with it and I loved it. And I played the hell out of Titanfall 1. Like, for that game to be that good and draw me in. The criticism so many people had with it was, no, I'm not going to pay for price for just a multiplayer game. And it's that thing where while that argument still persists sometimes with these games, well, it should be free to play. It should be whatever. I think we're in such a different space right now that you could come out and just make a fucking Titanfall multiplayer game. And again, I know I'm bringing in the scope then, but if you launched a, and I hate to say it, but a free to play Titanfall 3, a Titanfall that does have a thing like we're not talking about trying to spin up Concord here. We are talking about we've brought Titanfall back It is a 2999, 4999 experience. You're getting X amount of maps, you're getting this thing and it's going to be multiplayer only and you're going to go out there and have a great time and it's going to be this twist on the gameplay. And I know I'm throwing out a lot of question marks as I'm talking about bullet points that would be on the back of the box because I don't know, I'm not respawn, I'm not the people who made this, right? But I think just making a Titanfall multiplayer game in 2025, I do think you might have missed the window. I do think that would have done a lot better a couple of years ago if you were to say we're just making it. But I also don't think that the juice is totally gone there where if you made it with the. This is just not EA's bag. If you made it with the right expectations, realistic expectations for what you're doing, what the Titanfall audience is now and what it could become, hopefully you do knock it out of the park. You, you bring in people like me, you get the whole thing and you go, it was that idea where you're now bears showing Titanfall 2's launch trailer, right? And when they were like, hey, Titanfall's back for Titanfall 2. We know it's a disappointment on the first time around, but we're putting a single player in here, single player campaign. Everybody who likes first person shooters is like, oh my God, it's the best campaign of all time. I don't like, I don't like campaigns in FPS. It's just not my thing. So that was actually not a turn off to me, but an investment that I doubt did the returns EA wanted out of it. I doubt that putting that in there brought clearly didn't bring in enough people to make a Titanfall 3 to make a better. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, but I wonder how much of.
Greg Miller
That scope, see, I would say how.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Much of that is just Titanfall 2 in general, right? Like is there a. And this is going to sound crazy to say, but is there a starvation for the Titanfall multiplayer game, right? If you put out a Titanfall multiplayer game in 2025, are you just double dipping on something that Apex Legends already does, right? Like for me, I look at it as like if you want to return to, to Titanfall, just make a Titanfall campaign. Don't even do a multiplayer thing. Have Apex hold It down for multiplayer. Continue to nurture Apex or revamp Apex. I'm so fascinated.
Greg Miller
Did they ever put in the Titans in Apex?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that. And I don't know why, like that was one. That was the thing that I was speculating since 2019 of. Oh, you're eventually going to put the Titan Titans in here, right? I think you can still do that. I think that can be apex 2.0.
Greg Miller
I was going to say, why not do apex 2, right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, like apex 2, colon titans. Right. Apex colon Titanfall, like whatever you want to call it. I think that is a vision for the future of Apex because that is the infrastructure. Apex has the multiplayer, Apex has the battle pass. Apex has all those, like the audience built an audience already. Like, I think that could be the avenue through which you revamp Apex. And if you want to bring back Titanfall, just make a traditional first person shooter campaign and like it could be $40 now. I know that probably sounds insane for EA and for a triple A campaign game to come out and be something that's less than 70 bucks, but I.
Greg Miller
Think we're in though.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's the world we're in. And I think it's a, it's a win on all sides if you frame it and scope it the right way of. Hey, this is a. Remember the six to seven hour of a first person shooter that we know people want. Let's make it and make it 50 bucks.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. I don't know where you go from here with Titanfall again. As somebody who loved one, I, I don't know. Like, I don't think you need it necessarily. I don't know. I bet EA thinks they don't need it. How many Ls are they taking with Battlefield? All the time in the Call of Duty race. Not, you know, the quality of the game. It's a, it's a really tough one that I think it reminds me a lot of Mirrors Edge where so many Mirrors Edge fans were like, we want another mirror's edge. And then mirrors Edge 2 came out like, all right, well do shit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Battlefield was also another reason why I look at like a Titanfall most player thing. And I'm like, it's an uphill battle. Like the scales have tipped, things have changed. Like the. What was the thing for Shazam of like the powers have changed or whatever.
Greg Miller
Oh, the hierarchy of power.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes, the hierarchy of power has changed. Right. In the first person shooter sphere, where. Yeah, like if you, you keep betting on Battlefield, which I get that is your big FPS multiplayer franchise. And it feels like it has been an uphill battle for the better part of a decade and a half. I understand why you look at Titanfall and struggle to figure out like what you want to do with it, especially if you're coming off Titanfall 2 and that isn't still like an online, you know, ongoing service thing. But you have Apex.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So I. You have something there. I think it's. It is about not being greedy and figuring out like how to nurture that and continue to build that into something that like gets those numbers that you want. We got a lot of super chats on this topic. Ak.98, the homie writes in and says EA's unwillingness to take responsibility for their corporate failure and instead baking their loss into the value of the IP is classic game dev bs. Yeah, I can see that. Flying penguins, right? Sinner says Titanfall 2 was murdered by Battlefield that year. That was another thing.
C
Is that like Battlefield and Call of Duty?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, well, it was in between both of.
C
It was like yes. Battlefield and Call of Duty were coming out, I think two to three weeks in between each other, maybe a month. And Titanfall 2 was right in the middle of both of them. It was like not only was it idiotic for EA to have like to release two multiplayer shooter games within a month of each other, but then to do it right before Call of Duty launch. Like I think that's really what didn't bring people in. Everybody else was distracted by the two juggernauts that year. Yeah. Less so because there was a single player campaign or whatever. Because that is true to player stuff was still fucking awesome. And Titanfall 2.
Greg Miller
Yeah. But if somebody else went through the chat, I'm sorry, it's gone now they're saying I Nobody played Titanfall 2 and I was there. And that was a similar thing for me as a Titanfall 1 fan. I did the campaign and then I jumped into the multiplayer and the multiplayer felt the same and there wasn't that energy. Now that's me, you know, personally. Why is there no energy? No the Timefall, there's no multiplayer because the shooter fans are off playing those things. So it's like this whole cyclical thing going on.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I would.
Greg Miller
I made up a word that worry.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
About and I don't, I don't know. Cyclical.
Greg Miller
I said cyclical. You understood it and it sounded enough like what you wanted that you brain tricked you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I would be fascinated of the numbers of people who came to Titanfall 2 for the single player campaign because I'm one of those people where I. I didn't play Titanfall 1 because I just didn't have the interest in Titanfall 1. But when Titanfall 2 came out, I saw so many people online talk about it having one of the best FPS campaigns ever.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And then I, I played it. I forget if I bought it or if it was on Game Pass or whatever, but I think I bought it, I played it to play the campaign, and I played the campaign and loved it. And I made. I might have played this the most player thing once just to see what it was, and I wasn't into it and just bounced out. Yeah, I think there's probably a good amount of people.
Greg Miller
Yeah, for sure, for sure, for sure.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We got another one from Yellsing who writes in and says Respawn has to be one of the most respected studios in the industry and EA squanders them at every turn. I'm so glad you guys don't have.
Greg Miller
Stakeholders, I guess, yet EA's been talking to me.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, listen, do you want higher ups coming down at us being like, you got to make all of our content PG 13, yo.
Greg Miller
Hey, you may. You made a prom night baby joke at the beginning of the show. Not. Chill.
C
Yeah, Brad, what is it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Brand safety.
C
Brand safety. It's just, it's not, it's not safe for the brand, Greg, you know? Yeah, what is the brand?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's kind of funny.
C
It's you, but it's not safe for that.
Greg Miller
Sure, fair enough. Fair enough. Who's like, oh, why can't I remember the EA CEO right now? I can picture his face, his name.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Andrew, otherwise. Yeah, no, it is Andrew Wilson.
Greg Miller
No, no, Andrew's wearing that blue collared shirt. Chad, help me out.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm going to write in Andrew Wilson. I don't know.
Greg Miller
It was Andrew Wilson.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, I nailed that shit.
Greg Miller
Nailed it. Crushed it. Yeah. There he is.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, that guy.
Greg Miller
Thank you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wait, he's the CEO.
Greg Miller
Imagine Andrew Wilson having sit me down. Be like, we can't make prom night baby jokes.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We got to figure this out. You can't keep doing this.
Greg Miller
Also, I've been looking through. There's a Disturbing amount of 911 References.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Talking about the EA of it. All right? Because I think this is as much as this is a Respawn story, because this is very. This is very much affecting Respawn of the studio. I think there's the big EA element as far as what the fuck is going on here when you talk about them saying that Dragon Age, the vilgard underperformed by 50% when you talk about EAFC 25 somehow underperformed when you talk about the grand scope of ea. Where do you think EA as a company is at now and where they're going in the future?
Greg Miller
Wow. Well, that's a great question. I think when you look at a number of 13,700 employees, that's too many employees. I think that's. I think that's too many. And I think as we have had a video game boom for so long, and now we are in that. Wayne, where we are. You know, as Matt Piscatella pointed out, we are a mature market now and tariffs and this and an unpredictable stock market. You know, all these different things that are going on outside of gaming, but are affecting gaming and deciding how much money there is to spend, how much energy people are going into, how many people are playing the old games versus they're not buying new games. I think as every publisher and developer, but every publisher for this conversation, grapples with that. I think when you look at a company that has 13,700 employees, that's a bigger problem to grapple with. And that's why you see stuff like 300 to 400 positions be eliminated like that, because it is shit. We got to keep the shareholder value up and we got to figure this out. We got to be profitable. And it's. It reminds me so much of the one company I'm blinking. No, it was fucking. It was it. God damn it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Game company, Game studio.
Greg Miller
Who is the game company that was like, we got to double down on the pillars and they like three franchises.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I want to say Embracer.
Greg Miller
Thank you. Embrace. I want to say Saudi Arabia, which, of course. I mean, I was like, I'm. I'm like, that's not them. It's Embracer. Yeah, of course. Large wing for who's like, we got Chris Dynamics. We got. We're going to. We're going to exploit the ip.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. We're going to exploit Lord of the Rings.
Greg Miller
Exactly.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And do an insane thing.
Greg Miller
And so it's like, that's how I think. Even though we give them so much shit for saying that. And of course, fucking over the industry by buying and closing so many people and having bad ideas. I think everybody internally is doing that where I think it is EA being like, cool mass. We're a mass effect. Star wars, you know, I mean, they're doing obviously developer by developer.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, I see. Yeah.
Greg Miller
I mean, so like, we're gonna be like BioWare, your mass effect spawn, your Star Wars. In the Apex make APEX make money again. Yeah, like that. I think that's what you're gonna see from all these different people and the same thing. I, you know, I can't.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Are we not gonna see another Dead Space remake? You know what I mean? Because that's. I guess that's, that's where I come in with this question of when we talk about ea. EA historically typically looked at as oh, that's a money grubby, evil corporation. Evil corporation. But I stand by, I think somewhere around the late 2010s up until recently they've done. They've made a good turn as far as. Oh, y'all are actually putting out stuff that is worthwhile on the non sports side, you know what I mean? Like we are getting. I count Apex Legends in that right Of Apex Legends was such a good quality ass battle Royale game. You have the Star wars games, right? You have the Dead Spaces of the World and Hazelight. Yeah, yeah, you had, you have Hazelight and you have these. What do they call that initiative, like the indie essentially initiative, right, that they have, right. Like originals, EA Originals. They were making really good decisions. It Takes two. Got a fucking Game of the year award at the game awards, like first.
Greg Miller
But over how stretch there. There used to be so many other originals. Yarny and Unravel, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think Yarny and Unraveled is the same.
Greg Miller
It is, it is, it is, it is. That was me. Sorry.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, but yeah, like there was a really good stretch there and, and right now it feels like we are seeing that be done with.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I mean it's easy, it's easy to make all those plays and those decisions and finance those stuff that isn't going to get you double digit growth when there's a spigot of money just spitting out cash in the back. Whether it be FIFA, whether it be Madden College Football, whatever. Like that was the argument if you remember in 2015 when they announced EA Originals and we had Peter Moore on our set at E3 when it was kind of funny as the secondary gamespot set. And he made that comment right of like listen, the sports games and whatever else at the time that makes money. Which means we can make something like an EA Original, we can make Unraveled and it doesn't need to have that return on investment now that you're here and everybody's getting cold feet and nobody knows what's going to happen tomorrow with the fucking stock market. You have people going, we don't have that anymore. We don't have that luxury. We have to be calculated on what we're doing here and why we're doing it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
My final question.
Greg Miller
Yeah, Skate. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
How quickly does that come and go? Because Skate strikes me as a. As a. As something you greenlight when you have the Runway. Like when you have. When you have shit to work with and you have like that room for risk, I feel like that's when you bring Skate back to go. Okay. Our fans really want this thing. And this is a thing from a different age. Like this is a thing from the late. I guess, yeah, late 2000s, early 2010s that had a moment that was popular when the skateboarding games are popular. Yada yada, right? Like. Like we're bringing this back in 2025, 2026, whenever it launches.
Greg Miller
Early Access this year.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Early Access this year. Does that catch fire? Does that like. Do you believe in Skate enough to think that EA is going to keep it around for the long term?
Greg Miller
Well, I don't believe in EA enough to think that they're. You know what I mean? I don't believe in EA and their commitment to video games, in art and all this other stuff to figure that out. Aftermath for no particular reason. Let's look at how much EA execs recently made. Made recently. I don't believe enough in EA's commitment to any vision. And that's my problem is again, whenever they're EA's commitment to anything is money. And again this. Let's not act like everybody else is doing this for the love of the game necessarily. It's a business. You're trying to make money. But I do think EA is trying to make the most amount of money. And again, they have nearly 14,000 employees. So do I believe in Skate? Do I believe in this? It's a harder question to answer. Is Skate going to catch fire to the level that EA wants it to. To finance 14th no, I don't. I just don't think that's possible. I don't think that's possible.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think it's possible.
Greg Miller
You think there's a big enough skating community, video game fans?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think Skate is weirdly sticky with like there was a. There was a weird, not a weird. There was an era there where streamers and content creators are making a lot of skate content and like there's an audience for it that I think is that streamer audience.
Greg Miller
I still think, even though I am definitely odd man out and I'm probably way too. The glass is half full on this. I still think, you know, they Were talking about last week, this week, last week, about it always being online. You know, they're doing microtransactions in the alpha.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And those are the things I worry about.
Greg Miller
I still think that could be really good for this kind of game because when we're. But then when we were talking about skate, it was one of those conversations where I, Barrett, was at you talking about, well, when I think of skate, I don't think of being online or whatever. I think of the story. Whereas for me, when I think about skate, in my memories of skate, I remember and I know it's so quaint now, signing on to skate and then going to watch the little YouTube, the little videos. Remember, you could upload videos. So I was watching people's tricks and shit like that. So it was already a community of people trying to do cool skate tricks and also basically, jackass shit. Look how bad I hurt this guy. And I bounced him off. It's like pain. I bounced him off this railing and he landed on the seat, the park bench. Like, if I'm thinking of skate being free to play and being online and having migration transactions, my personal interpretation of what that's going to be for Greg Miller is a sign on every day for 15, 20, 30. Do the challenges. See what the new hotness is. Is there something in the shop I like, okay, bounce off. I. But I think if. I think there's going to be a group that is looking for a Tony Hawk and Bam Margera is walking me through what's going on next. And, like, I think both perspectives are valid. I think the short, you know, let's get in, let's have a challenge, let's race, let's do this thing. It's. It's like Fortnite, but with skating, not shooting. But you know what I mean? There's something there that could work and it could catch fire with a TikTok community. And when I.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So when I think of skate and the way that I interact with skate, right? Like, I. For me, it is a sandbox. For me it is, you know, hopping into Skate three and just fucking around with the challenges and being like, all right, I want to do a kick flip onto this rail, do 5050 off of it and do like a combo down this road and trying that over and over and over again and maybe doing the clips, right, and sharing around. Which I would say to what I was talking about before of like, skate being from a different era. Skate also at the same time, ahead of its time with that. Oh, yeah, the shareability of clips and what you can do with that has a lot of potential. Especially now. Like if you put in the new skate some kind of thing that natively exports clips onto TikTok, kids are going to go crazy with that shit. But I also think that right now for the. The video game content that's hitting both on I guess just the content creation side and just what the kids are playing. So much of it is sandbox, so much of it is survival type games. So much of it is like the type of games where you can go in and create your own fun. The Roblox of the world. Like those kinds of things. Skate could be that, could be that. And already has been been that. Like I can easily be.
Greg Miller
You sign on, you make a little party with your friends, you go and it's like, hey guys, I'm going to lay out a challenge. You click record for. You go and do a bam. You land it. Can you do that?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Skate needs this new skate needs a way where people can create their only their. Their own only up challenge where I go in and I make a level and I make it my own only up. And people do that and it goes viral and people share that. Like it needs to be that kind of game. And I think EA would probably bet on that side of it for the success. Like is it, is it gonna have a campaign maybe? Sure. Like sure you can have that stuff and that's gonna make people happy. But I think that is when you.
Greg Miller
Look at this and that's not what this is. This is a million skaters dropping in doing the only up challenge. Exactly.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Like I think that is what you bet on. And fingers crossed that it works because I think that is fun, that does capture the spirit of skate. And also I do think that could.
Greg Miller
Lead to success 100% and I hope it does in. Somebody went by in the chat earlier already, but it's basically writing out my thought, right? Of like there clearly is an audience for skate. You see in this video a million times, little replies pop up. You know, when I hosted EA play before Austin Creed AKA Xavier woods killed it, like I would always make a joke about it because there are so many of us that love skate. And when you demand skating, all about skate, right? But it was that idea of is that going to be an audience that's big enough for ea. You know, you really sit there and you hope for skate and for the developers and for a franchise. We love that this is going to be a college football like moment where they starved us of college football. For so many years that when it came out last year, bestselling game, right? Everybody's insane, everybody's happy to be back. I hope skate is like that where it is. Servers are crashing when they finally open it up and it's just so many people are trying to get in. But the idea of getting in there and like I know I'm every game I play, right. I'm trying to be like fucking. I just want the perfect looking character for me. I'm getting in there and I'm buying whatever with real money or not. But the Superman tie in shirt or the goofy ass skate shirt and I'm trying to make it look like me and then I am out there doing tricks with you for half an hour before I go back and play Oblivion. Yeah, that sounds kind of funny.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Stream. We're just hanging out.
Greg Miller
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Are we? Yeah. Are we making a skate crew? Are we having skate rooms? Are we doing skate meetups? Like that could all be awesome.
C
Really quick. I think the conversation you're thinking about earlier, Greg, was when we were talking about it being always online and all that stuff. Yeah. And you talking about the idea of like coming in and doing like dailies and stuff and that being enticing and my trepidation is like wanting to come back with a new skate, wanting to come back to it years down the line and it. If this game doesn't do what it needs after like a couple of years, am I going to be able to do that?
Greg Miller
Right.
C
And so yeah, but I definitely get where you guys are thinking about it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We're going to move on to story number two. But before we do want to tell you about patreon.com/kind of funny and YouTube.com/kind of funny games where you can get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. And speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

So if this sounds cool to you, make sure you wishlist it. I can't tell you how much it helps. Imperial is a complex feature rich action RPG where you'll be sent to a planet in a far off corner of the galaxy to explore an enormous imposing monolith. As an elite mercenary, you'll join the expedition tasked with unearthing the secrets of the monolith and face off against the deadly automatons within. In Imperial, you'll explore four vastly different quadrants of the monolith, accessible only by using mysterious artifacts known as cartograms. Find even more cartograms to explore by looting defeated enemies or buy them from other players online at the trailer Trading Post. You'll need to make sure you have the right gear to take on the harder cartograms, build your mercenary, choose your gear, master your abilities, and take down everything in your path. In Imperial, face off against enormous deadly bosses and seek out secret paths to find bigger and better loot. Blessing Adioye Jr.
And we're back.
Greg Miller
We're back.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You just unboxed this?
Greg Miller
Well, I went to go get the Tower of Borne codes to give away on my blue sky, which I still will do if I got that or whatever. But then out there there were boxes for you, me and Mike. Oh, and I opened mine real quick because I said, what? What is this thing? All right, and so here's the message that it is, I haven't opened it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do you know that you can read this?
Greg Miller
I've looked through. I see nothing about embargoes. Do you see anything about there?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No, I don't see anything.
Greg Miller
Yeah, right. I mean, like, come on. There's nothing in there. I mean, this is what we. I feel like we signed up for this a long time ago. You must have, right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, I don't know what this is.
Greg Miller
Hold on, let me do this. Do this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Also during the break it came up. It came up of. I forget the question. Somebody wrote in with a question of, do you think Greg could beat up bless if Blessing didn't have any arms or legs? Which was hilarious, but also reminded me of the hundred men versus one gorilla conversation. And I do want to apologize for my takes on that episode of Kinda Funny podcast that went up this week because I saw a picture yesterday of 100 men. 100 people. I should say a gorilla is fucking killing all of them.
Greg Miller
There's been so much discussion about this across all of our different things where it' just like I was listening to one of the person. It's like, you're not giving this girl enough credit. Like, what's it, What? When are these people going to realize they got to kill it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No. And it's like not even that.
Greg Miller
I'm not commitment.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm not. It's not that I wasn't giving the gorilla enough credit. I think I was giving too much credit. Credit to how many people? 100 people is this looks like a small church service of people. 100 people is like, that's not even a Tim Getty's wedding. Like that's not enough people to take out a gorilla. If we increase this to 500, I think that would have been more accurate to what I was thinking in my brain. But yeah, 100 people aren't taking out a gorilla. I apologize, guys.
Greg Miller
I can't find anything about this to be embargoed, so I'm gonna read it. But more importantly, something we were talking about that was embargoed before the show. See, this is what I'm talking, talking about. Like why? I mean, why do the other thing? You know what I mean? Now granted, it's because us, we do our content a certain way. It's whatever. Anyways, this is a message that we got in these things. Thank you for continuing to join us on this journey. Whether on console, PC or cloud with Xbox play. I'm sorry. Or cloud, period, with Xbox players have the power to choose how and where they play. Our this is an Xbox campaign represents this promise. Blessing Adioye Jr.

Greg Miller

Love Xbox.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This is awesome.
Greg Miller
Thank you, Xbox.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I love this.
Greg Miller
We'll talk about this in a myriad of places, including that Oblivion review this week. But it's happening. As I always warned you. I'm becoming an Xbox person because of this Rog ally where I'm just like, I'll restart this. Oh, blueprints on both. Yeah. Delete the Steam version. I'll get the Windows version.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow.
Greg Miller
All because this rock Ally. And then I'm like, I'll play him on the thing. I'll do the thing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow. We. This is a dangerous episode to have.
Greg Miller
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But we gotta have an episode about are we abandoning our PlayStations because I have been playing on PC so much.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
In the last year and to the point where now I am requesting AAA third party games on PC.
Greg Miller
Wow. Yeah. That's a bridge too far.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And like I Dude, I got clear obscure on PC.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I paused for a second because I was like, can I talk about that? Yes, I can. I'm playing Claire Obscure on PC and like the idea that I'll play a game like that on PC and not on my. On my console.
Greg Miller
See, it's like different. It's just, you know, Razer just announced that Razer Blade 16, the 16 inch version of that Razer laptop I was running around with or whatever. I was like, damn. And I looked at him like $3,000. It's like, I'll stick with sticking this Xbox way where I can play it on the Xbox series X or take it on the road with the rock out.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Just my Steam deck just changes everything. Now the thing that sucks about Clear is that it actually doesn't run that well on Steam deck.
Greg Miller
Did you give it to Andy yet? No.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do I need to give it to Andy when I.
Greg Miller
When I got it. And they were like, listen, here you're. If you did it, if you did PR for Expedition 33, don't listen. They're like, here's your code for Expedition 33. Don't. Don't review it on a Steam deck. Yeah, like, we're not. We haven't patched it yet. Your pre release. I was like, yeah, sure, no problem. Installed the Steam deck and I handed it to Andy and I was like, andy, make this run for me. And he came back and it runs fine. It's not, you know, it doesn't look like it does. And I think that again, that's one of my problems of like, I want to restart an Xbox in glorious 4K giant TV.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And then Lifeboat. Lifeboat. Rather than what I started by life voting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Changed my life, dude. I was, I was doing. I was doing.
Greg Miller
Not the Rock. You're not playing the Rock.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No, I just like one my libraries on Steam for the most part, which I know Raw has Steam, but I mean it's just the immediate thing, the immediacy of booting it up in the Steam os, just being there and like not even figure it out. Yeah, maybe I'll figure out a way to just have that happen in my rog ally. But I'm trying to get you. But like, man, I was doing my laundry. I don't have in unit washer and dryer. So I'm like at the laundromat and I'm like, I put my clothes in. I just sit in my car. I'm just doing a run of blueprints and I'm just like this.
Greg Miller
Why'd you sit your car? I just sit in the laundromat. Or they have seats.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm sure they did, but I like my privacy.
Greg Miller
I don't want to be out ripping farts.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Blueprints.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Well, my windows are down. Playing with blueprints. It's awesome. Story number two, Switch's new virtual game card system stops the same game being played online on two Switch consoles.
Greg Miller
Oh, no.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
At Video Games Chronicle, the latest update to Switch has reportedly removed the ability for two accounts to play a single purchased digital game on two different consoles at the same damn time. Online. Didn't say damn, but I put that in there. Today, Nintendo released firmware 20 for Switch consoles, a significant update that adds new features in preparation for the impending Switch 2 launch. One of the main changes in this new firmware is that digital games are now referred to as virtual game cards. Cards and essentially act like digital cartridges. Players can virtually load and eject virtual game cards between two switch consoles, meaning one console can have the game present at any time. However, players are now reporting that this new system prevents two users with their own switch consoles from playing the same digital game online at the same damn time, something that was possible before. In the past, Switch games bought using a main player's primary console could be played by any other account signed in on that console, including online. The main player could then sign into a secondary console and install the game there, too. The idea was that the first. The idea was that if the main player signed into the secondary console and another family member used their own account on the primary console, both could play the main players purchased digital game online at the same damn time. The change to virtual game cards no longer makes this possible because there are no longer primary or secondary consoles. Now digital games are treated like physical cartridges, meaning they can technically only be active on one system at a time. Since the virtual game card system only launched a matter of hours ago at the time of writing, there are still checks ongoing to see how every permutation of the new system works. For now, however, it appears that in order for two family members to, for example, play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Online together on two separate Switch consoles, they'll need to buy a second copy of the game.
Greg Miller
They made this as clear as day. I sent this to Barrett. You know, March 27, 2025, we all learned about virtual game cards. They showed the card moving around. They showed you what they're doing. They showed how they're screwing you over. They showed what was up.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Is this not how it works on PlayStation, he play the same game, like the same digital game on two consoles at the same time.
C
If you're. If it's your home console. So let's say your PS5 at your desk is your home console. If I logged in to your home console and there's a game you owned that was downloaded that I didn't own, I could play that copy of your.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Game at the same time as I'm playing it 100%.
Greg Miller
Yes. Somewhere else. That's how Jen and I did Diablo for quite a while. Where before I had a code for her, she would log into my home unit, where, you know, if you're not familiar, you go into your settings, your PlayStation 5, you say, this is my designated home unit. Same thing you do with Xbox, right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Where then she would log in as herself on that unit. She would play on hers and I would play on my secondary one. Of course, the rub being here, if you're not familiar, is that a home unit, if the Internet went off, you could just play games. The games you've downloaded there, no problem forever with the secondary unit. It needs to ping the online every so often. Otherwise you can. It'll eventually be like, hey, you got 50 minutes to play until this thing's shutting down.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Gotcha. I didn't even know that.
Greg Miller
Yeah, well, it's like, again, it's such a specific. This is the permutations. Right. This is one of those things that we always run into of like, with the amount of like when I'm trying to review a game and it's not even out yet, but it's like, you're doing this and then it's like, okay, I turn on the Xbox, but like, to have a Hellblade a few times where it was like, oh, well, your Xbox is still uploading the save. Like, why is it taking so long to upload the save from work when I'm already here? Like, blah, blah, blah. Like, yeah, usually everything works flawlessly, but the way we all have to break everything because of how we run around with games and systems is different, let alone for this. Where it's back to. Yeah. If you're going to talk about now trying to play with a family. Right. How do you do this? And so there's fixes. I mean, like, we're using. This is happening today. It's all live, yada yada. But, like, you know, when they're talking about Switch to stuff with the new Mario Kart world. Right. You can share that game. So theoretically, you could all play that way. You wouldn't need it. I'm sure there's gonna be limitations on modes and things like that, but specifically like this. Yeah. You're jumping around like that. But this was the move of moving over to this card thing. You lock all your cards in there. Yeah. You're gonna. You're gonna have a bad time.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I got two opinions on this.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
My first opinion, I don't really care. My second opinion is because people say sometimes too lenient on Nintendo. How dare you? Nintendo.
Greg Miller
Yeah. I appreciate you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Thank you.
Greg Miller
Very brave.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Thank you.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
C
I only ever used this to make, like, essentially, like, I've got like, my primary account and then I've got a secondary account called Boss Baby on my switch, where, like, because, like, the way Zelda works, I can only have one save file at a time. So just make a second profile. Just so I could start up like a different save so I didn't delete like my like, main save for like a Zelda or some shit. But yeah, I didn't really do any of the, like Alyssa playing, you know, a game while I'm playing on a different switch or any of that.
Greg Miller
Yeah, it's an interesting one. And we're talking about use cases that I think I'm about to venture into that I, like, I haven't worried about before. Right. Where we're about to be, where Ben's going to want to play all this stuff. And I'm not gonna know any different because that I'd be interested to hear from parents who are. But also, I don't know. So the way it was working before would be like, you're playing a game offline or. No, they say that both of them could pay online. Right? Yeah. Okay. Okay. It sucks. It's what it's gonna be. As every wrestles with digital ownership and what that actually means.
C
Yeah, it means nothing.
Greg Miller
Exactly. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's not even ownership. You're renting a license to touch the game, fucking smell the game. You're renting a license to do it.
Greg Miller
You're not.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wrong story number three, Lost Soul aside, has been delayed again. I'm not gonna read the full news story, but it has been pushed officially from May 30th all the way to August 29th.
Greg Miller
Whoa.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Thank God. Because it came out. It was originally coming out the same day as Elden Ring.
Greg Miller
This came through. I was like, I've never. I don't even know what this fucking game is.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You definitely do. Lost Soul aside, it's the game that kind of looks like a Final Fantasy, but also kind of looks like it was made by Platinum. It's part of the PlayStation, I believe, China Hero project of games. It kind of feels like it could be this year's stellar Blade, but also it was made. The development started originally by one guy still has a whole story behind it. Okay, Barry, we can go to, like, where the action is. It kind of looks like Final Fantasy 13 versus.
Greg Miller
Did I miss this? Was this a director SGF or something?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This was State of Play. Whatever. The last big state of play was.
Greg Miller
Dice when I was at Dice February.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, you weren't here for it.
Greg Miller
Yeah, that's why. Well, I watched it there, but I must just gloss. I mean, it's also been around for Jeff Keelina.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's been around for years and years and years. But also, like, it's also. It doesn't strike me as a Greg Miller game?
Greg Miller
No, no, not at all.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, so that makes sense. But yeah, I'm glad they delayed it. I hope when it comes out it's fantastic because it looks really cool and I need it to be cool. Story number four. Gearbox boss denies Borderlands for date change is due to GTA 6 or quote any game. This is Andy Robinson Video Games Chronicle. Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has denied Borderlands 4's rescheduled release date is influenced by other games amid GTA 6 speculation. On Tuesday, Gearbox announced it has shifted Borderlands 4's release date forward by several weeks. This sparked speculation that it could have been influenced by Rockstar's release plans for GTA 6, which is also owned by Take2. Quote, Borderlands 4 shipping early is 100% the result of confidence in the game and development trajectory backed by actual tasks and bug find slash fixed rates. Pitchford wrote on Twitter, quote, our decision is literally zero percent about any other product's actual or theoretical launch date, end quote. Previously, Take two has indicated that it will not release GTA and Borderlands near each other.
Greg Miller
What was the original release dating in for Borderlands?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It was like two weeks later. Yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
So it would have been right around Marathon.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The same day as Marathon.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
Ghost of Yota. Yote. Yote.
C
The Instagram post that Randy put up that has since been deleted before. I think this got like, officially, officially announced of this moving the game up. He said we had to move the game up by two weeks and then that got deleted. So that's an interesting wording here. And also the fact that it's Randy Pitchford saying this just like, I don't believe anything.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
How dare you not believe Randy Pitchford.
C
Okay, yesterday you went on a whole diatribe about how you're his number one hater.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Bless the man is a paragon.
C
I don't believe any magician. So, you know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know what? That's fair. That's fair.
Greg Miller
Nice. See me. Nice.
C
Their entire career is about tricking you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And Randy Pitchford's been doing that for a while.
Greg Miller
Greg, remember when Randy Pitchford got a fight with Game Informer? I can't believe you fucked me like this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Why would you fuck me like this, man? Greg, Borderlands 4. That comes out. That'll hold it back. All right, I'm not going to go on another rant about Randy Pittsburgh. How we all act like it's normal that he's here.
C
You're so right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We just. We all decided to sweep it on. I've never seen a Like a combined sweep. Sweep this under the rug. Like 2018. You know what I mean? The man had porn on a USB and left it in the medieval times. And it also had sensitive information about the game project on there. The man's. There are accusations from other people. He's had lawsuits. Am I crazy? Am I crazy?
Greg Miller
No, you're not crazy. I just don't think it was like anybody swept anything under the rug. I guess that's all. Every time he gets mentioned, someone mentions a usb.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But I feel like it's always me that has to mention it.
C
Yeah. Like, that's someone always mentioning the USB is always me.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There is a bit of why even Nintendo directs.
C
Yeah, he like other companies just, like, kind of being like, yeah, Randy being our thing.
Greg Miller
It's.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's.
Greg Miller
Remember his podcast explanation made complete sense.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Sense, sure. Yes. He's into magic. The girl squirting was doing magic. I get it.
Greg Miller
Oh, hold on. I'm sorry. Our owner, Andrew Wilson, just walked in. What was that? I shouldn't talk about squirting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
My bad.
Greg Miller
Sorry.
C
It's not safe for the brand.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. And Chad's like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Chat, go read the articles about what happened in 2018.
Greg Miller
So chat's the one sweeping it under the rug. They didn't want to hear about it.
C
Wow, you're complicit, Chat.
Greg Miller
I mean, literally, like, I think he was like, that's a magic trick. Wasn't like that was. He's like, that's magic. That woman is performing magic.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He had the barely legal girl on the. This is cool.
Greg Miller
And that was like, the title. It was like, it's barely legal 18 or whatever.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because the. Well, they originally came after him because I think the person that was filing a thing against him accused it of being underage. And then Randy.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Wasn't it like the voice of claptrap that did this?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And Randy was like, no, no, no. It was barely legal.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Which is not a great defense. But also, I guess it is a defense sense. But.
Greg Miller
Yes, we bring you the news. This was the news.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This was the news. And he was. Yeah, he said that he had that on the usb along with the sensitive information about the game. Because.
Greg Miller
Different folders.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Not because it was like, you know, he was horny about it. It was because she was squirting in the porn, and he was fascinated in the magic of it because he's a magician.
C
Research, Greg.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Borderlands 4 is getting a thing later today. It's gonna be big, but if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news and you just know about. Where'd I go?
Greg Miller
You go to our last story of the WE News Channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Story number five. WE News Hiroshi Kawaguchi, the composer of Outrun and other classic Sega titles, is retiring from SEGA this week after 41 years. Happy retirement. PlayStation plus essential games for May 2025 have been announced. You're getting Balatro, Warhammer 40K bolt gun and Arc Survival Ascended. Very good job with the Bellotro Sea of Stars. Free DLC throws of the Watchmaker launches May 20th on all systems. Pokemon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians is now available.
C
That came in late.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't know why I pressed the button when I said woo and then it just like just froze up. It sounds like everything's late cuz I think the Wii news took a second to kick into.
C
Yeah, that was a different problem.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
N Sonic Rumble's global launch has been delayed to an unspecified date. PC Gaming Showcase is set for June 8th at 12pm Pacific Time. Returnal now has PS5 Pro support. Hypercharge Unboxed is coming to PS4 and PS5 on May 30th, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splinter Fate is coming to PS4, PS5 on May 20th, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X on June 24th. And then finally, AEG Presents and Activision are joining forces to throw an epic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 +4 celebration taking place live at the iconic El ray Theater in LA on May 8, 2025. From 6 until 10pm Pacific Time. Fans can tune in on Twitch for an incredible night packed with an interview with Tony Hawk, exciting and performances by legendary bands featured on the game soundtrack, including Danny Brown. Oh, they got Lupe Fiasco on the soundtrack.
C
That's up.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do we know which song they got from Lupe? Adolescence and Urethane alongside pro skaters, reveal of new game details and THPS vibes like never before. All coming together to celebrate Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 +4 and the franchise's impact on skate culture.
Greg Miller
All right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That hyped me up. I didn't know we go. I mean when is it? It's May 8th next week. That's the same. That's the same day as the death stranding embargo. So yeah, I probably have to hear.
C
I feel like if one thing is more important, it's Tony Hawk.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean it's in LA. So theoretically if I talk about DS2 earlier in the day and then fly down.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Later in the day we can make it and hang out with Danny Brown and Lupe Fiasco. We can probably make that work. Oh, it's Kick Push. Of course it's Kick Push. That makes a lot of sense.
C
I shouldn't play kick push all the time in vans.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Kick Push is such a good. That's like a top. That's a top 100 song for me of all time. I fucking love Kick Push. And that is it for WE News.
Greg Miller
Final WE news item. I'm about to post these Xbox Game Pass and Tower Bone Creator Codes Founder Pack codes My Blue Sky. So go over there. Game over. Graveyard Right now. 3, 2, 1.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There it is.
Greg Miller
Post them.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Before we get out of here, let me pull in some super chats for you. Ebols22ebols says Tiny Tina's was great. Shame. Bless. And Roger, to be fair, I don't think we ever said Tiny Tina's wasn't great. We just said it came and went. Which isn't about the quality of the game. More so about the stickiness of the game. Yeah, like what Sticky.
Greg Miller
What brought people in.
C
You guys were talking about, like, what Borderlands as a series does in terms of guns. Yes, yes, that they got guns.
Greg Miller
Barrett.
C
Yep.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Let's see here. 9sif writes in and says, what do you guys think of games just continuing, like what Cyberpunk did with 2.0 as V Rising? Lords of the Fallen and Atlas fallen have released 1.5 and 2.0 updates with drastic changes based on input.
Greg Miller
I mean, it's great to update your game obviously, and do that, but I think you rarely get that second first impression where, you know, we're talking about like Apex. Can they ever return to being a shining beacon for EA of making money? Like, I think that's a really hard uphill battle. You need to do an Apex two, Apex Titanfall, whatever. I don't know, something that is like. Like it's new again or it is a brand new game.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I. I mean, I love when people, like when you see new life breathed into like an ongoing thing. Right. Like Cyberpunk 2077 could have came out and it could have just remained as is and that would have been a tragedy. The fact that they've been able to turn that game around. So much so that I look at it as one of my favorite RPGs. That's huge. Right? So many people love Phantom Fan. Not Phantom Pain, Phantom Liberty. Love Cyberpunk 2077 and what has become. But yeah, not every game has that luxury. That takes time. That takes a Lot of money that takes. It's all risk as well.
Greg Miller
And I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it's also that they had to swing and miss so hard on such a grand stage after years of being everybody's E3 most anticipated game. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
So many games come out disappointing and then write themselves or do other stuff and nobody cares. You just don't get as much press about it. Right. Like I, you know, I'm a weirdo that loves Starfield. Right. And it's like Starfield disappointed people, but it didn't. Like, it doesn't fucking work. It's trash. It's a zero out of ten. Is it was. And so like, when they update stuff and do stuff people still like. Yeah. It's just more.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
They really fix it. Was it really broken? It's a whole thing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Bringing another one from Barista Brand. They write in says, and they say Titanfall 2 was a huge improvement on the 1st and it was sent to die in FPS. Hell. I'll never forgive EA for that to this day. It's like such a bizarre day. To this day, it's such a bizarre thing to think about. Like that decision of, oh, yeah, we'll just put it out right next to. Right Next to Battlefield 1 alone is an insane thing. And then you add in the Call of Duty of it bizarre. Speaking of Titanfall 2, Charlie Maciel says Titanfall 2 is my favorite FPS multiplayer ever. Flying Penguin says Titanfall 2 was murdered by Battlefield that year. And then scrolling up even more. We got one more if I can get the scroll going. Mr. Nice Guy Rye writes in and says, PSA for the blueprints is playing on PS5. I reached a point where my progress isn't. Saving was on day 155 and lost 20 days.
Greg Miller
Oh no.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
God damn. And now my browser's being weird and so I scrolled and I. They say patch needed. Love you. B and G. A new thing.
Greg Miller
Bng.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Bng.
Greg Miller
Buy and good.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Buy and good. Yes, buying good.
Greg Miller
What does it mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Blessing Greg. Ah, wait, I thought you were doing a bit.
Greg Miller
I thought it was a sign. You said, it's our new thing. I thought you were saying it's like, oh, well, you've been on a show with somebody and started saying B and.
C
G. Kind of like love and respect.
Greg Miller
Right.
C
From Easy Allies or what do they say?
Greg Miller
Yeah, they say, yeah, they say, yeah.
C
I thought it was something like that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Well, yeah. What would that be? Best in goodness.
Greg Miller
I mean, BNG is fine. We can adopt it. Everybody start using that in other shows. And get the other guys to say it. But don't tell them it means us. Bear it. Your sworn of secrecy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Now it's time for kind offunion.com you're wrong where you write in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it for those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. Now Alex writes in and I don't know if this is true, but he says Greg said he played the single player campaign in Titanfall 1, but there was no single player campaign. There we go.
Greg Miller
There must have been it like in the moment.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Maybe you actually.
Greg Miller
Because I definitely talked about the multiplayer one and then two in that. Doing it for me. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's how I remember you. I stand by you.
Greg Miller
Thank you. That's what B and G does.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's the G to my B. I don't like that. Well, you don't like this. He's the G to my B. Yeah.
Greg Miller
He'S a B to my G. You.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Know what I mean? It's my G spot right there. Kabobs writes in and says, Ms. Detail on Sea of Stars DLC. It's free.
C
That's cool. Yeah, all of their DLC has been free so far, so it's pretty rad.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Professor Funkenstein chat says no, sir.
C
Yeah, Professor Funkinstein here.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like an Andrew Wilson staring at us in the back of the room.
Greg Miller
No G spot.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I can't say that the shareholders cheese Wombat Rice in it says respawn, pick the Titanfall 2 release date and double down when they had the chance to move. That's not. That's okay. That's not. You're wrong. But I appreciate it.
Greg Miller
Don't victim blame. All right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that is it. Oh, wait, I see. Oh, I see what they're saying. But also we got another one from 8 Bit Louise that says missed we news. Hi. Bless Looter shooter Arc Raiders has an open tech test from April 30th. That's today to May 4th. You can sign up on arkraiders.com.
Greg Miller
We.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Had an Arc Raiders preview yesterday.
Greg Miller
Yep.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There we go. I didn't know if it was coming up or. It was yesterday. Yes, it was yesterday. So if you want to learn more.
Greg Miller
About Arc Raiders, always here, always go.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Check out that gamescast. That is it for kind of funny Games Daily today. Of course, we have a games cast later today, but it's not happening. Radrich HD. Because RadrichD we're doing the stream and then we're reacting to the Borderlands state of play and doing our reaction games cast later in the day. That's happening at 1:45pm Pacific Time.
C
CT Wigs is in the chat. B and G stands for busting Goon.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I like it. I like it. Did you hear? You probably didn't because it was Langley.
Greg Miller
MD Says be whole in G spot in the house.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
G spot.
C
Greg, did you hear Kevin try to casually use the word goonan?
Greg Miller
I missed that one.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, he said that he actually you know what? Let's make Andrew Wilson happy and not do that. Of course.
