Today's stories include Ghost of Yotei is getting a state of play this week. The Last of Us Part two gets a long awaited update and some good gaming news. After last week's bad news, we'll have all this and more. Because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, July 8, 2025. One of your hosts, Blessing. Adio. Yeah, Junior. Joining me is 20 WWE legend Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
Hello, Blessing, how are you?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm doing well. How are you doing?
Greg Miller
I'm excellent. It's good to see you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good to see you too.
Greg Miller
What I love about this jacket, this Tekken jacket, is that for some reason every time I see you in I guess it's cuz the way I come through the front door. But even at the fridge a second ago, what I catch first is your right shoulder which has the crown on it which looks like your logo from when we did the wall. And so I'm always thinking this is a custom blessing jacket for a hot second.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean listen, we can make a custom blessing blessing jacket. There's nothing.
Greg Miller
Would you audience buy a custom blessing jacket?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
At least five people, I feel like.
Greg Miller
I think. No, I mean if, if we did it like in a. A low key. If it's the crown dude. Yeah, it was just a cool bomber jacket with the crown logo there and maybe a smiley over this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, if you wanted your giant face on the back, we keep away my giant face on the thing. We just put a crown there. I think, I think a lot of people would show up for a crown bomber jacket. I for sure would. And also I'm down to make the crown my logo. I never really thought about it that way, but I feel like since like the prom king and then. Yeah, it being like my thing when we first launched the studio and my walkout icon. Like I feel like there's something there.
Greg Miller
There is something there. Yeah, yeah. Think about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'll think about it.
Greg Miller
Okay, good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How you feeling? You're wearing the Superman shirt.
Greg Miller
I am going to watch Superman Going around two tonight. What's up with that Kevin? Now I say this to Kevin, not Kevin make change it. But Kevin is of course the guy who is our movie czar. He hits us all up by the screeners. Hey, do you want to go to this is the Thing. We've got a press screening here. There. There's embargo for us noon before we can say anything about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like today at noon.
Greg Miller
Today at noon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh hell yeah. I have a podcast I listen to. I'm waiting for them to post their.
Greg Miller
Review, but, like, I opened Instagram today, and they've got a whole bunch of pull quotes from Variety and Deadline, so I'm guessing real dot com. Are the reviews up?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do they have numbers? Is there a Rotten Tomatoes?
Greg Miller
I'm going to IGN.com. that'll be. That'll be my bellwether here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Superman. Have a Rotten Tomatoes.
Greg Miller
Oh, yeah. Okay, you know What? There's nothing. IGN.com. so maybe I stand down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Because, like, my question is. Well, I don't want to break anything. I assume this isn't a thing I can't talk about because, like, they give us, like, the little note thing.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
To write on. Isn't. Is that not what they pull from?
Greg Miller
Oh, I can't imagine that. No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because what is that then?
Greg Miller
No, no, no, no.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's the whole point of. Kevin, are you allowed to explain that, or is that something we should just keep between us? I don't really know. No one's ever explained it to me.
Greg Miller
The way I understand what happens there. We go to these press screeners.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
They're also sometimes. Not all the time. Sometimes they have audience. You know, you got a radio competition. I don't know how the audience gets in normally, but, yeah, we get little comment cards we give to people, and they also take photos. I think that's just them reporting back to the studio or whatever their PR mothership is of what is what early word is. But, no, because they're always way too well worded.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, that's. Again, like, I don't.
Greg Miller
Again, I'm not a movie guy. I mean, I don't mean like a watcher. I watch movies here and there. But, like, I know video game reviews. I don't understand movie reviews. So when it's always like, oh, we're embargoed. But then I saw people from other.com tweeting impressions last night and then saying, review tomorrow and embargo. I'm like, well, you're saying, like, the movie, that's the review, isn't it?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because I think. Yeah. I think it's the thing of, like, your formal written scored thing is embargoed. But I see this every single time. We're like, the premiere was yesterday. Yeah. Last night. No, they're not stopping anybody from talking about, like, oh, man, I love the movie.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, if I said I could say my feelings right now, I won't be careful.
Greg Miller
We will abide by our embargo. That's all that matters. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Can I tell you I'm seeing it.
Greg Miller
Again tonight in imax.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are you excited?
Greg Miller
Very excited. Sound sucked last night.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It did.
Greg Miller
I hate the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Also kabuki. I don't.
Greg Miller
Hate is a strong word. Kabuki. When you get. When you're find out you're going to the kabuki, like. Yeah, you know, it used to be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dope when you're in the balcony.
Greg Miller
Kevin, you remember this too? It used to be dope because Kabuki was the first theater in SF where you could book your seat. I remember that being a huge fucking deal. Like what? We don't have to wait in line, we have to worry about being front row. You can. That was when it was cool, but then everybody else got hip to the game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
God. Not to switch topics real hardly, but like I gotta talk about rematch.
Greg Miller
Oh yeah, you do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because you. I've already talked about it quite a bit since it's come out. But like this is one of those games where I feel like I'm experiencing in real time. Oh, this is gonna be one of my favorite games ever. Oh, and it's funny because it's like that thing where I still. I think I gave it a scored review. I probably gave it an 8 out of 10 chat. Correct me if I'm misremembering, right? And I, I think I still stand by. Like this is not. It's far from a perfect game. Like very far from a perfect game. I think there's so much you can do to make this thing better and there's so much I think they will do to make it better. I think it's gonna have a lot of like time to improve and like upgrade and like figure out a lot of like weird just like connection stuff and laggy stuff and like network stuff that I think over time you can like pay money and figure out how to fix. But was playing this game last night, it was me, it was Gary Whitta, it was Adam Vision, it was Snowbike Mike and it was Andy Cortez. We had a full five stack and we were playing on ranked and I'm just having the time of my life playing this game. Like it's kind of crazy where I'm getting the best of both worlds from what I love about playing FIFA and then also what I love about playing Rocket League but then also like Andy and Mike who are people that I could. I don't think I could ever get to actually play FIFA proper with me. Like they're so into it too and we are strategizing like we wouldn't just a traditional soccer match. But it doesn't have like the randomness of Rocket League. Like there's a level of like, oh man, I should have executed on that pass. Like anytime there's a mistake. I know.
Greg Miller
It's so many Rocket League fans, the randomness.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, if you're the highest level of Rocket League, sure. But for the casual level, Rocket League it is random.
Greg Miller
Gary Wood and M. Exactly.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right. But for us it's like you're playing on the casual level. Right. It's us playing. But every play it's like, oh man, it wasn't. It's not that like I up or it is that I up. It's not that like the game up on me. Even though it happens every now and then. It's not that like I just couldn't do it most of the time. It really is like I could have aimed that pass better. Oh, I should have done, you know, a lob pass as opposed to trying to hit it off the wall. Oh, like we could have communicated better. And I don't know. I'm just having the. I'm just having the time My life playing this game. So I want to give a quick shout out to rematch because I think this is going to be one that lasts for me.
Greg Miller
I'm excited about that. Excited about that for you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thank you. Thank you, Greg.
Greg Miller
It's a contender, I think for sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. It's going to be like one of.
Greg Miller
My game of the. Yeah. Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well for sure, for sure. Enough about that. Remember this is kind of Funny Games daily. So today after kftd you're going to get gamescast which is my Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze review. About a decade late but coming at you right before you get Donkey Kong Bonanza next week. Is that coming out next week?
Greg Miller
Yeah. Isn't that right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Lord. And then after games cast. What's up?
Greg Miller
I don't want you to spoil your review.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Uhhuh.
Greg Miller
But was there any concern going in of you Get Konged out like being this one right before the next Kong drops.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So typically I'm not the biggest fan of playing like a. A prequel right before a sequel. Like playing the last game in a series right before like the new one comes out. Because I usually I will get tired out. Yeah, but it's such a different game it being a 2D platformer and it being like a Wii U era 2D Dong Kong platformer. Like I don't think there's any chance me getting congged out on this one. And then after games cast I never.
Greg Miller
Have too much call.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is. Is it. Are you playing Destiny 2 on stream after games cast it seems like there's an interesting one today because it's both you and Andy on the thing.
Greg Miller
Right. We're filming something else that's embargoed. So me and Andy are doing like switch hitting. So when he's out here filming, I'll be out there playing and back and forth, back and forth. And so yeah, my plan was I'm gonna do run more Death Stranding stuff tomorrow. Of course our spoiler cast for Death stranding too on the beach. And so I figured why not hype the audience by doing some missions, little.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Side missions then if you're a kind of funny member. Today's Gregaway is Greg's 21 minute review of James Gunn's Superman. Okay, there you go.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I assume that's not going out to embargo.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I got it new.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Putting a number score to it?
Greg Miller
No. Well, yeah, I do. I guess I did. I was. I mean it was literally like I. We had the one sentence conversations as we were all leaving the theater and I got in the car and plugged in the mic and went. So I'm like, I withhold the right to change any of this, you know, to marinate on this and stuff. But this morning I don't feel like anything I said is off, off base. Yeah, I'm excited when I see it tonight.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is what I'm really excited to see how people in general feel about it. Just because like I. I think I was sitting next to Nick and I was like, I think I got to sit with. I think I gotta sit with it. Yeah, I think this is one where my feelings might evolve over time. Yeah, I think people's feelings are gonna evolve over time. So I can't wait to talk about it later. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega, Buster and Delaney. The Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rays but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Rope Report. It's time for some news. We have five stories, the Beakers dozen.
Greg Miller
Chat Throw up your gold stars for Kevin Coelho, who was adjusting the microphone and then realized he had to go, got back in, they didn't have to run, gave a little quick jog, got in there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I tried to slow it down for.
Greg Miller
The Kevin really did Rush. I love seeing it happen. I love seeing everybody click into place. We got a team out here, everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's start out with story number one. This is from the PlayStation Blog. Watch the Ghost of Yote State of Play Gameplay deep dive on July 10th. That's in two days. This is written by Andrew Goldfarb and as I get into it, I do got a super chat question for y'.
Greg Miller
All.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What are your predictions for the state of play? Obviously as Ghost of Yote, but let us know what features you might think we see. You know, what's your hype level for the state of play? Any prediction you might have for it. We are less than 100 days away from the launch of Ghost of Yote on PS5 on October 2nd. This week, we can't wait to give you your best look yet at what to expect with a State of Play gameplay Deep dive. Streaming on July 10th at 2pm Pacific Time, our State of Play features nearly 20 minutes of Ghost of Yotei gameplay. Hosted by Sucker Punch's creative directors, Jason Kano and Nate Fox. Oh, beyond sharing more about Atsu's quest for vengeance, we're excited to show off her new weapons, new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan, new special modes, and much more.
Greg Miller
Let's fucking go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You hype for this.
Greg Miller
Greg Blessing Adioye Jr I am, yeah, of course. You know how much I loved Sucker Punch in general. My love of infamous is incredibly well known on the Internet. And of course I loved Ghost of Susuma as well. So to be be here on the heels. No on the precipice of Yote. Very excited, excited to get into a deep dive on it. I think this is a game that I want to see more of. We have seen so little of and I really like for me, you know, weapons, sure. But the new ways to personalize your journey that stands out, you know, I think was so far the messaging on Ghost has been Sucker Punch knows what worked in the first one and knows what wore thin in the second. What wor thin. They know it worked and they Know what? Wor thin. So like, how does that apply to the second one? Right. You know, as much as I loved Platinum and Ghost of Tsushima coming into Ghost of Yotei, it is that idea of like they've said so much about, like. Well, we know that we did a lot of rinse and repeat side activities. Right. They said they're not doing that here. So what does that look like? How does that change is Personalization is simple. I I, when they, when they call it out this way. We're excited to show new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan. That sparks an interest in me as somebody who loves to play dress up in these games. And the fact that, the fact they're saying it like that, I think speaks that they're going bigger than just change your outfit, which you could do in Ghost of Sushi. Yeah. Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So, like, bigger in what ways?
Greg Miller
I mean, your ride, your horse. Are we making flags that we're putting banners we're putting down somewhere is some kind of thing we're doing in the world and some kind of choice we're making then influencing how the world looks like. That is what I start to get question marks and read into and I think it'd be really cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
See, I read, I read new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan being more so like maybe skill tree stat stuff like this will be one where you really do have to choose.
Greg Miller
I would jump into. Exactly. I think if you're choosing playstyle, then and again, this isn't even dreaming too big, I don't think. But I wouldn't be think it's beyond the realm of possibility that you're making choices in game as well. Oh, what are we doing in terms of, you know, as, you know, RPG light. Right. In terms of like, we're all going to get to the same end, obviously. But how are we coloring the story or are we choosing making choices that then give us different kinds of companions versus how it was before where we all have the same companions.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I love that I've. So I've been going back to Mass Effect 2 because if you remember, when the Legendary Edition came out, I played through Mass Effect 1. Loved it started Mass Effect 2. I was Mass Effected out and then I dropped off of it. Been slowly getting back into it. And one of the things I have been loving about it is doing the, the specific quest for the characters.
Greg Miller
Loyalty missions.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, the loyalty missions.
Greg Miller
Jacob Jack.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And like the choice of. All right, I'm going to hang out with Garrison Jack, or I'm going to hang out with, you know, Rex and this character. Right. And like having that more personalized. This is. This is how I view my crew. This is how I view my journey through my. The choices that I'm making as I'm going out on each mission. I think that could be really cool. Right. Like, they give you that. That squad of friends in Ghost of Tsushima, but I don't think they really went, I think, as far with it as they maybe could have. Yeah. And like talking about that personalized thing. Right. Like, I think one of the conversations I remember having about Tsushima that I don't think they did in the end was what if this is a thing of you're choosing whether you want to be the honorable samurai or whether you want to be the dishonorable like, Ghost and do it. And like that ended up just being. No, there's a story here. Like Jin is about him.
Greg Miller
Even if you played as honorable as a samurai as possible, they gave you like one thing you had to do stealthy and every would bitch about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Because they had to make. You're not even being honorable. So it's like, yeah. If they were able to break that away and go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And again, from what we've seen, there's so many games right now. I. I am not at the height of my powers in terms of what we're getting into with Yote, I know it's this revenge story. I know these different things. I know it's happening in historical period. I don't know how much this character Atsu's decisions and choices and things like that are going to affect the historical narrative we're inside of. And I think with Ghost of Tsushima, that was a big part of it. Right. We were talking about this Mongol invasion of Tsushima. We had to stay true to where we were going. Whereas here, if we're using it more as Yotei is the backdrop and what's happening in it is historical and accurate. But we have a character that we can then go and like, I cool. Which way are you going to take your character on this path? How are you going to shake that?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
As far as I understand, like, Yotei is many times bigger than what Tsushima was. Not talking about the game, but I think talking about like just the area in general. So I wonder if you can have the thing where as a player you have way more leeway as far as like how you affect maybe like the specific areas you're in as opposed to like rewriting the story of, you know, what happened historically.
Greg Miller
Exactly. I think there's ways around that. It'll be pretty creative and cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I do want to bring in some super chats here. CJ splits and writes in and says super hyped to see the new Legends mode. Here's the thing, right. They do talk about new special modes. I have no hope that that's Legends. Even though Legends was my. One of my. If not maybe my favorite thing about Ghost of Tsushima.
Greg Miller
Yeah. So new special modes, I imagine we'd be. We'd be leaning more back into. And Ghost one. I'm going to start calling that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
You had that black and white Curacawa. Curacawa mode. Yeah. Right. Where I imagine that you're leaning into that a bit more. Maybe doing black and white Kurosawa 70s. Like you know, not exploitation film but like that pop in the grain filter and like maybe the colors are popping in a different way kind of thing leading to more samurai stuff that I don't even know about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Somebody in chat does say co op if it's not a new Legends mode. Right. Like could you get some kind of co op thing? I think if. I think one of the things that Legends proved worked about Ghost of Tsushima is that you can have a multiplayer element to it and have it be fun and have it function.
Greg Miller
Yeah. I'd say no because I think if that. If there. If this game was a co op mode game, I think you would have teased that already. You would have already had shots of Atsu working with someone else and they're attacking and doing all these different things.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fair enough.
Greg Miller
Also, Legends, what is your reap? Because Legends was popular with you for sure and other people definitely played it as well. But do you think they're going to come back and do this? I mean like again, this is a weird one where we've seen the PlayStation Live service push fail and get flogged. However, this is a game that's actually crossing the finish line that's actually been working and doing well and we're talking about a company that already did online stuff. Well, so it's that one thing where I feel like I. I'm. There's a multiplayer component to Ghosts in some regard and I. But I don't know if here's where you reveal it or if it is going to be like how it was with Sushima where the game comes out, it does what it does. We everybody enjoys it, popularity crest falls down and then guess what? There's a free mode of multiplayer to jump in and do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, I'm. Legends was a hit for me. I think for the people that checked out Legends, like, I've only heard good things. I've not heard anybody be like, oh, this mode was whack. Oh, why'd you do this? Oh, I tried 100 and super fell off. Right. But I also think it's the tough thing where they obviously put a lot of work behind it. Like that is a mode that's not just a throwaway. Hey, let's just put this in the game. Like that I got. If I. If I played 40 hours of single player in Ghost of Tsushima, I also played 40 hours of Ghost of Tsushima Legends. Like, it was a hefty thing. It had a raid at the end of it that they added in the post update and they had quite a few updates for it. I do think though, that that is something that shouldn't have been dropped as a mode within Ghost of Tsushima. I think maybe you should have dropped that as a standalone thing.
Greg Miller
And like, did they ever end up doing that? I remember there was rumors. I can't remember Chat obviously, eventually. Did they spin that out and put Legends up on its own? I can't remember anymore.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I can't recall either. But like, with that, they did.
Greg Miller
Thank you, Kebabs.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There you go. And Kebabs, you can tell me how much did they charge for that? Because I think if you were to redo it, if you could remarket Legends, I would almost do it the way that Elden Ring did Night Rain. And like Night Rain, you look at that and that's a huge success for them. Obviously, Elden Ring different thing than Ghost of Sushi. If you put eldering on anything, it's going to pop. It's going to be successful.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is what I've realized and learned. Right. But I think there's something there as far as, like, how hefty that is as an option. And if you're able to put that out as a standalone $30 thing and like, you don't. And you can do the Elden Ring Night Reign thing of don't even treat it as a live service. Just have the updates you want to have and then have a definitive, hey, we're not putting anything out for this past a year, past six months, or whatever the timeline is for it and just have it exist as a thing. I think that is what the successful version of Legends looks like. If you want to do that. I don't think that's going to be the. A big moneymaker. I don't think that then goes on to sell the. The same amount of units as like a core Ghost of Tsushima does. But if you wanted to do it at Sucker Punch, I think that's the way to do it.
Greg Miller
See, I like the idea of. I think Legends 2 should exist. There's you and there's a hardcore audience that liked it. Right. I think having it in bundled with the game makes sense in that GTA Online way. Nothing will find that level of success, obviously, but more in the way that, like, I think Yote is going to be bigger than Tsushima was. Just, you know, it's a sequel. People know people are hungry for a PlayStation Studios first party banger. Right. And you assume that's what we're about to get. So if you were to do it, I'd want it bundled in. And then I do think that, like, I know we hate live service. People say that. Yeah, they play it all the time and they hate battle passes. But I do think you really could find a financial Runway for this that is. All right, I'm. I didn't love Legends, not because just it wasn't my kind of thing. It's not what I wanted. But like, you played up to a boss, right? Wasn't that the deal? Like, you played through, like missions to then fight a boss, if I remember.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, you, man, it's like fogging my brain. But I remember there being like a certain handful of missions and then every few missions you had like a tougher one. It might have been a boss.
Greg Miller
I feel like dropping, you know, over every three months or even more if you could. But putting in an uncharted cool uniform, like celebrating PlayStation with these outfits that you're getting that you could.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, they did that with the.
Greg Miller
First one, I know, but. And I. But I think like the first one, God bless them, the first one really does feel like Sucker Punch wanted to do it. They did it and PlayStation didn't believe it. And then. So nobody really had their messaging lined up. I feel like, honestly, I guess, you know, I was pushing back about. I think you got to talk about Legends here if you're going to do Legends too. And I think here's where you establish that every three months or whatever, we're going to put out a cool outfit, whether you charge for it, what you do or don't, whatever. Because I think the cool thing to do, the way I would lean into it and this is now just trying to make. Make money off video games. To keep video games coming, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Bundle it for free inside of Legends, right. And yote then when you play, if you buy your day and you play the game, you get all these little DLC outfits for free and then if not put the Legends 2 mode out free to play as well but then charge for those outfits there and try to do something like that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And see I think now I'm getting.
Greg Miller
Way into the weeds of what I'm sure sucker bunch doesn't want to fucking do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's the thing.
Greg Miller
But it was the idea if they just did it right. Like kind of what you're saying. We're doing this for a year. Here's what you're getting every so often. Which again they would never say they would never do again. I'm now trying to make PlayStation do what I would do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Which thing is I think you run the risk of muddying the whole message of Ghostly too much where it is like all right, we have the core thing that we know everybody's excited for but then we have Legends and it's going to be bundled in. But then also you can buy it separately and also you can earn the things the single player. But then you can buy like I think the more you get into that conversation the more you start to distract and the more you start to take away from.
Greg Miller
Well see that's why it's interesting of what you would do here is I would say like it's 20 minutes. We know right Is what they're saying for the state of play by the way we are live reacting to it. Your Thursday will be dramatically different now it's going to be Games Daily followed by Superman in review, the James Gunn version. Then we'll do a little pre show into the live reaction and then we'll do a post show games cast after it. So that's Thursday for you anyways. End that 20 minutes or even in the. The. The three fourths of the way through do a tease that is like we know how many people like Legends and like have just a silhouette of a 10 second teaser trailer. Whatever. We'll talk about that later. But rest assured it's bundled with you know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like something like that that I think would.
Greg Miller
Yeah, that work because I think the as into the weeds as I'm getting to try to make money which I know Jim Ryan would have told these motherfuckers they need to make off this thing and Bungie would have apparently come in like if that got in there. I feel like that is its own state of play of like, here's what Legends is and why. But I think you could do that of like launch it and do the GTA online thing where it is like a month later you're going to put out Legends, which is kind of what they did with the last one, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, they came out like maybe two months later.
Greg Miller
Was it. Okay. But in between then do like Explainer Video, a blog thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think here's my thing.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't think a Legends live service is worth it. I think you. You treat Legends the way you, you treat an outriders or the way you treat a. Like, even rematch might not be the best example because I think that might turn into a live service. But like, there are those games, I guess Night Rain would be the example. Right. I think there are those games that come out and it is, hey, this is a fun thing. This is a thing that's meant to not be an everlasting gobstopper.
Greg Miller
Yep.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is a jawbreaker that runs out. Yeah. This is a thing that has.
Greg Miller
There's nothing wrong with that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes. And I just don't think you have the juice to really demand much money in the post launch content unless the post launch content is like banger. And I think to do that, you're then talking about a different amount of like, effort in a different amount of production required to make that a thing that's worthwhile and exciting. And like you have to have more story, you have to have bigger quests, you have to like have bigger systems to, you know, upgrade and do all this shit. Right. I think you got to make it as simple as possible and charge 20 to $30 and just be like, hey, you know what this is? It is more Cos and Tsushima, but now you can play with friends. We're doing the Night Rain thing.
Greg Miller
What I love is trying to put aside what I want. Try to get into the head of PlayStation. Try to get in the head of PlayStation years ago.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Understand how much Sucker Punch could have fought back against any of this because for it to be a, hey, 20, $30 standalone, whatever I, if I'm placed to show, like, just don't do that. Like we're not going to make enough money to make that worth your time. And so is that what they chose? Is that the lane they picked where like Sucker Punch? Just focus on making Yote an amazing single player campaign. We love that we did here. It didn't do gonzo numbers then. We don't think it would do gonzo Number now as a standalone outriders kind of thing, don't bother doing it. Or did they get in there and go you had a great idea there. How can we monetize it even if it is for a limited time or whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So you don't think PlayStation would see the value in just being. Being like hey let's just sell this as a standalone thing without. Without super monetizing the post launch content. Just make it a one and done drop. Because I think Elden Ring Night Ringing is proving that wrong as far as.
Greg Miller
Yeah, but again do that. I hear you on that one. I think that's a different audience though. I think so many people are drawn to PlayStation games and Ghost Tsushima for that narrative, for that story, for that samurai film. Whereas the multiplayer thing is similar but not so even me, a huge Sushima fan never wanted to jump deep into Legends. Right. Just didn't click for me. And I imagine for all the hullabaloo you give it to it as you should and you enjoyed it. It just doesn't sound like Legends broke through in this major way that I would see PlayStation say do what you did before again here. Because a normal company that was just hey at the top is Herman or Jim or whoever who are like oh we're going to make little profit off of that. Go for it. But PlayStation wants big profit and that's what's fucked them here with Concord Marathon, etc. Right. All these live service things that just did not affair games. Right. All this shit is because they were like in the board were like we need to double quadruple. Blah blah blah. Graph go up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I just don't think they would look at do Legends again the same way as Graph go up enough.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure. I. I think that. I think the place, the place where I split. Yeah. Is like it. This is Sucker Punch and I know like Sucker Punch we look at as the PlayStation studio alongside Nadia, all that stuff. Right. They're a smaller studio than like a lot of these big PlayStation first party things. 100 I think if you can. I think the standalone thing automatically makes more money than what you did for as far as bundling it in with prime goes to Tsushima. Right. Because then it's like you're not hidden behind another thing that you had to buy in order to get into this thing. You just buy it straight up. Right. And that already is like that's going to make more money than what?
Greg Miller
Okay, so then what I would jump in then and argue again. So you're saying not free at all. Not bundle at all. With you. It's going to be. You would have it just.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I say I would have it be a standalone. $20.
Greg Miller
My problem there is that again they are a small team.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Like they've been working so hard on Yote. I doubt they had a second team also or the same team going on a full blown Legends standalone. Like that's how they got around Legends one. Right. Being a bit content, thinner, whatever was like it's added in here and it's this additive thing and it's free and you get to play it and you enjoy it. It wasn't like originally we're trying to sell you. I guess eventually they did.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was still arguing. I don't think it was that content then. Right. Like if I'm putting in 40 hours into Elden Ring night rain, I put in 40 hours into Ghost of Sushi Legends. Like I think as that was you could have. And they did actually like end up putting it out as a standalone thing.
Greg Miller
Do you think though expectations are different now?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you put out a. I think if you put out Ghost of Yote first and go hey, like everybody's happy with this now let's. Let's announce the multiplayer thing. But it's like it's at a $20, $30 price. I think people have their expectations in check.
Greg Miller
Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I think I, I think right now you're. You're in a place and this is what we Talk about with PlayStation all the time as far as playing with the scope and scale of the things that you put out. Where you go, what do people want out of our studio? How do we give it to them at a. In a place that's manageable. Right. You talk about like Sucker Punch doesn't have that bandwidth to like have another team. I'm saying you do the same. Same exact thing you did last time, but this time just put it out like separately.
Greg Miller
I want to bring in filaw 95. He just super chatted just like you came to be part of the show and he did with rsd. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not. I'm not familiar with that currency. Legends is coming several months after maybe at the same time as the anime and will be free. Sony loves doing free DLC that. That are also marketing beats. You are not wrong. But what I would say is do they wait and do Legends when it comes to PC. Ghost of Yote is coming to PC in the complete edition and it's getting this multiplayer mode that has Cross play. If you have PlayStation 5 already, you're gonna get this free update as well there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Siberian diner dinar. Oh, diner dinar.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I think that's a good call too. I think bundling it in with a PC thing makes sense. Yeah. I don't know. I think there's.
Greg Miller
It's exciting and interesting, you know what we do here, we just talk about it, we see what's up, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I want to bring in another. Another super chat coming from Danesta who writes in and says how much are we betting that there's a Legends mode in go see. You also really want to see more unique side content in this game. Do you have any predictions as far as that? Right. Like one of the things, reading that we're going to get this state of play in a couple of days. Right. Like for me, I keep thinking back to this game being presented as kind of a non linear thing. You being able to choose as Otsu, like what order you want to tackle your targets for. As far as being on this revenge quest, I'm really excited to see how do you structure that. I think it was Indy or somebody who I was having this conversation with as far as like, yo, I would love to see some sort of like Mega man situation where you go and you take out a target and then you get their weapon. And like that weapon might work better against like a certain other target that you can go take out on the east side of Yote or whatever it is. I'd love to see. I'd love to see them like dig into that and what that looks like and how you can kind of determine that piece of play for yourself.
Greg Miller
Yeah, that'd be incredible. And I think that's what it's going to be, right? Is that it is going after all these people who have wronged you. So I assume it's going to be they're all in different districts and I would assume it is Mega man that you can choose and go off and attack them. And that would actually play really interestingly into this blog post. Right. Of talking about the new weapons. Is it literally going to be Mega man where you kill these people and then get their weapon and can go off and use it against the other people. That would fucking be really cool. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And we've already, we've already seen like multiple. Hey, what ATSU can rock dual blades.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think there was like some enemy that had. I don't know what the weapon's called, but it was like a stick connected to a chain And a ball type thing.
Greg Miller
Kevin has breaking news here, everybody. Oh, if you Google Superman, Krypto's paw comes in at least paw prints all over it. I love that they're making crypto such a big part of this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fucking awesome. I can't wait to talk more about it in about an hour and a half.
Greg Miller
I'm looking around activities. I remember there being an interview.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sorry, Gama. Thank you. Lucid Dreaming chat. This is Superman music.
Greg Miller
Is that on Google too?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It is.
Greg Miller
I like that. Okay. I like that on that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
As you, as you're looking into that, Kebabs writes in and says photo mode. How can they top changing the weather? Oh, for sure we're going to see. We're. There might be five minutes of photo mode content in this state of play. Like they're for sure going to show that off. Because I think for Ghost of Tsushima, that was for me one of the premier aspects of that game that is the most I've spent in a photo mode in a video game is in Ghost of Tsushima.
Greg Miller
And I think we'll never see Jack Quaid again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah. I think for sure you're going to show off so many more of the effects and stuff that you have for that.
Greg Miller
Let me bring this in. Okay. Sorry. It took me a long time to get there, but I got there. Everybody, this is. Wow. CC F Tech. This is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Guys, I'm joking about the five minutes. By the way.
Greg Miller
Alessio Palumbo, who has an article says Ghost of Yote will feature a less repetitive open world. Then they do a really. Thankfully, developer Sucker Punch shared a few tidbits about the sequel. In a New York Times interview, Direct creative director Jason Connell said that one of the changes compared to Ghost of Tsushima will be a less repetitive open world. One challenge that comes with making an open world game is the repetitive nature of doing the same thing over and over again. We wanted to balance against that and find unique experiences. That's all there is. But it's back to the point of like what I'm driving at of like what do I expect out of that open world and what do I want to be doing?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I, I, I mean I, I do have an excerpt here that's from. I believe this is the original PlayStation blog. When they announced Ghostly, where they said but we've only scratched the surface and go see Yote, we built upon and evolved the way you explore the open world, offering even more freedom and variety than in Ghost of Tsushima. You'll choose which leads to follow as you pick which Yote6 member you want to hunt down first. Which I love. And like even the idea of there being leads. Right.
Greg Miller
Very Assassin's Creed, you know what I mean? That's one of the things that I know people have openly worried about that Assassin's Creed for what? All of the open world RPG games so far has had the question marks. You get the thing, you kill the guy, you find out who that is, you kill that guy who he's the next guy. Then you get to the big guy that reveal the one you have the grudge against, then go knock that one of the six out to go. And like, that's a fun gameplay mechanic. I think Assassin's Creed, it became a little bit too mechanical. So having it be here and how they're going to present it will be interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And even if it is like, because I. One of the things I love in video games is games that do that where you do the first prologue mission and then you finish it and then it is all right, big main quest objective pops up. And now for some objectives that are going to get you to like do that main objective. Right. I love A Breath of the Wild. And one of the reasons why, like I'm going back to Mass Effect 2 and I'm like, I'm like, this is so refreshing. I just picked the one mission I want to do and like, it's all building into this bigger thing.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, I'm.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I'm very excited about that. And the leads part of it, I'm like, all right, so those, I imagine those have to be structured like quest chains as far as like. All right, yeah, for sure. This guy. Go to this camp, beat these people. All right, that's going to get you this clue to then end up at this boss and then beat it and then do that five more times.
Greg Miller
Yep.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Any final words about Ghost of Yote?
Greg Miller
Can't wait. Excited for Thursday, you know, see what they have up their sleeves. It's about time we got a deep dive. See what this game's all about. You know, October Feelings feels far away, but I know it'll be here before you know it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
So that's it. We'll be there and ready to go. But yeah, like I said, we'll be live reacting on Thursday, so come watch with us as the kind of funny games cast.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is one of those weird ones for me where like, of course I'm going to be there to live react.
Greg Miller
But you don't want to be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't want to be. Yeah, like this is one of those state of plays where if I didn't work here, I don't think I'd watch it. Yeah, I don't want to see any more. I've been sold on this game since they announced it. Yeah. So I'm like, the less I see of this game the better. But I'm sure whatever we see on Thursday is going to be fucking great.
Greg Miller
And so it better be gold.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

And we're back with story number two, introducing the last of this part two remastered chronological experience out today. This is from Jonathan Dornbush at PlayStation Blog. It's been such a thrilling time for us here at Naughty Dog, especially as we've welcomed so many old and new fans of the Last of Us into the franchise. To celebrate all of your support, we have a surprise in the form of a free update hitting the last of Part 2 Remastered today. Available for players as part of a downloadable update. Today we've introduced a new way to play the story of Last of Us Part 2 like never before. Chronologically it was no small feat to bring the last of us Part two's story chronologically together. Given that Part two story is so meticulously put together, we're grateful to the developers, both at Naughty Dog and our partners at Nixus, to make the chronological mode as smooth as possible. And while we of course recommend players still new to the game to play through Part two's story as was originally developed, the team's hard work has paid off with a fascinating new way to enjoy this chapter. And we also wanted to reward players for jumping into this new transformative approach to our story. In addition to new trophies tied to completing the narrative experience in chronological order, doing so will also unlock two new, perhaps surprisingly familiar skins. Kevin we have this linked at the bottom of the story to the PlayStation blog where they show off the skins. Basically you're getting Nathan Drake.
Greg Miller
I don't like it. No, no. Like I. The look of Joel as Drake is so not. I can't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It does look wrong. It is like some bizarre.
Greg Miller
Because when I. I saw like, you know, Blurry eyed, I saw it in Slack today, I was like, oh, okay. And then when I clicked on the image, I was like, oh. I thought it was going to just be a Nate skin. Like I'd be playing as.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's what I thought too.
Greg Miller
Instead it's them dressed like Sam and Drake and I'm like, nah, Sam and Nate. I'm like, no, no, I can't. I can't deal with this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This. This feels like. Yeah, alternate universe situation where it's like, oh man, Joel's doing like all the climbing and all that.
Greg Miller
Yeah, exactly. And they both look uncomfortable. They look like they. Someone just threw them in those outfits like p. You know what the is going on? I can't deal with it. I don't like that. I don't like that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg, you're saying you don't like this? I saw quite a bit of people online on like on Blue sky and on social media we call it BS as they say in the streets, saying that they actually don't really like the idea of this mode, which surprised me. Yeah, like I think I saw more negativity around it than I saw more.
Greg Miller
Oh, interesting. I don't have a problem with it. I think we're talking about a game that's how many years old now. This is 2020. Right. So a five year old game that I doubt if I was. If I roll over tomorrow. I've never played a video game. I finished Last of Us Season 2 and I go, man, I'm gonna buy PlayStation 5 and I'm gonna buy Last of Us Part 2. And I turn it on and it pops up. Do you want to play chronologically? Like, I don't think I would click yes. I'd be like, give me the normal game. Well, you know, I don't see it being a big deal. I think, if anything, it's a nice. It's a cool option to do it, Kev. Or can you send him the trailer for it? Because what I liked about it, when they showed it going down the timeline was I was like, oh, it's going to be. I do day one as Ellie and then day one as Abby, day two. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And it's the way they showed it in the little trailer was like, oh, no. Like, here's this scene that happened with Ellie. Now you play this scene as Abby, or vice versa. Like, rather like merging it together into, like, what's going. Like, we're cutting back and forth between them. And I was like, oh, that's. That. I. That's an intriguing way to do it. I don't think, like, you know what I mean? I don't know. I don't have the time with all the other games we need to play, and I want to play, to go back and do it. But this is the thing of. We're always talking about video games and the value of your money and your time and them going in and adding something that's already in a game you have and new. I think that's a pretty cool way to do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did you. When you saw this thing, was it on shorts? Because I'm only seeing a shorts video.
Greg Miller
Must have probably been on the blog. I'm going to toss up the blog.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right.
Greg Miller
Because the blog would have it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, maybe. Yeah, maybe it's the blog. Yeah. I don't know. I. This is one that I'm kind of indifferent on. I think the response is a little.
Greg Miller
Fascinating as it goes through here. Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Sorry, I sent the shorts version.
Greg Miller
No, you did. Great. This is. Maybe this is what I saw. Maybe I saw this on Instagram. But, like, the fact that with this. Yeah, like, it's a. I think it's an interesting. It theoretically should play like a movie. And I wonder what that would look like into it. It's something I wouldn't mind doing. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
For me, this is one of those interesting things, seeing the response, because it's that weird disconnect of it being a video game, but then it's also it being a cinematic Story that's like, led by an auteur kind of situation where I think I almost view it as, like, the way that people were reactionary to Zack Snyder's Justice League. You know, four hours black and white, and it being a thing of like, oh, wow, you're really. You're like, redoing the story. This is gonna, like, this is a different version or whatever. And, like, you kind of take it as almost the more, I guess, like, authentic version of the art or whatever. Right, right. But, like, at the end of the day, you're changing the art. This. I'm like, I. On the story, I guess, cinematic side. I understand people being like, this isn't the way it's meant to be experienced. Like, you know, you're doing this for whatever. Like, you're changing the. The art at its core. I understand that side, but I also, like, kind of lean toward the side of the. It's also a video game, and video games have updates and are fucked with all the time in ways that, like, you know, game. Game design is art too, but we fuck with game design as far as, like, going in and changing things and redoing things. Like, if they're going in and, like, changing a system to work differently or better. Like, they added the no Return mode. Nobody had any qualms about the no Return mode.
Greg Miller
And so, like, someone did.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure, somebody out there did. But, like, you know, I don't know. It's a very weird thing.
Greg Miller
In the Super Chat, Killian C writes in and says, I feel this chronological order kind of defeats the whole idea of how you experience the original game. Optional, sure, but it just feels unnecessary. Well, Killian, right there, you're like, how you experience the original game. You've already experienced the original game they're giving. Is it optional? Of course it's optional. There. They could have not added anything to this video game. Instead, they're adding something to the video game. You assume because they've seen enough. People say they'd like that also because they need to put something out since their. Their multiplayer game got canceled. But you. I don't. I really doubt that. There's people who haven't played Last of Us Part two who the turnoff was, that it wasn't in chronological order. And now they're gonna go do this. This is strictly a. You love the Last of Us Part 2. Here's another reason to play Last of Us Part 2 in a new way. And they got new trophies. And it's like, yeah, they're just adding value to the game you already have and if that doesn't do anything for you, keep driving. Who cares? What are we talking about? Like it's just them tweaking the game to do this thing. I don't think it gets in the way of the original idea because you already experienced the original five years ago. You experienced the original idea. Why are we mad that they're doing something different now?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Filon95 in chat says beyond two souls did it first. David Cage leads and others follow.
Greg Miller
Never forget, Beyond Two Souls was a complete turnoff with the what are we doing? Where are we going?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Two Souls. I was begging them. I was like, please put out chronological around.
Greg Miller
I'm like, I don't know what is hap.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What is what I will say.
Greg Miller
Aiden, the ghost, what is happening?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
God. I never play and I never played the chronological because I'm never going to play Beyond Two Souls again. But like I did, I, I did wish the original game did what was more structured that way. That said, I read this for last list and I do want to check this out. Cuz like this is the thing I've been fascinated about for a while of how does that story hit when you have everything kind of reordered in a way that feels a bit more. That feels chronological as opposed to having that recent moment. I think that's a fascinating thing to do as an experiment and I would like to experience that experiment. But I'm like you, I don't have the time. I'm not going to go back and play Last of Us too. And like if I'm going to play Last was two for the first time again in five years. Am I going to play the chronological version or am I going to play like the. Play it the original intended way because it's been forever. I don't know. One day maybe I'll get to this.
Greg Miller
You won't. There's too much going on. There's too many games. Too many games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Story number three. After Microsoft pulls funding, Romero Games says several publishers are interested in bringing back its unannounced game or bringing it across the finish line.
Greg Miller
Because they're not closed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because they're not closed.
Greg Miller
That was the other thing. A lot of confusion about that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is Vicky Blake at Ignite. Romero Games has revealed it has been contacted by several publishers keen to pick up its unannounced canceled project that was reportedly being published by Microsoft. After reports from former staff saying the whole studio had been let go after its funding had been pulled. Romero Games has now issued a fresh statement shedding further light on the situation and acknowledged it had been forced to reassess the entire staffing of our studio. For now, Romero Games insisted it currently remained operational and, and that the studio was, quote, not closed. And we are doing everything in our power to ensure that it does not come to that end quote. So a little bit of good news from last week's bad news as far as, hey, we're talking to publishers. Conversations are going. I saw a good tweet from Daniel O'Dwyer yesterday saying that like, yo, somebody, publishers out there, please pick this up so I can make a documentary about it. Like let's make this shit happen. And so I do like the fact that we work in an industry where if people are vocal that their shit that, that they need help with as far as like something of this scale that people could rise to the occasion. I hope that people do rise to the occasion here.
Greg Miller
Yeah, 100%. Yeah. It's cool to see that somebody can step in and fix this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I hope the game's good also because.
Greg Miller
Exactly. It's going to come out, go through.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All this and the game comes out.
Greg Miller
Cool. Great, cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then last new story, story number four. Square Enix has invested in a Danish indie studio to fund its dream game. This is Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. Square Enix has invested in Danish developer Beta Dwarf to aid in the development of its upcoming game, Vault Breakers. Vault breakers, which was announced in January, is a top down RPG quote. Square Enix is always looking for high quality games in talented development studios, said Hideaki Uehara, Square Enix's general manager of business development. When I played Vault Breakers, I was genuinely excited by the experience of connecting with other players and exploring its rich game world. After visiting Beta Dwarf and learning about the team's mission and passion, we decided to invest in them to help realize their dream and bring this game to players around the world. End quote. A similar positive news story. Sure. Number three.
Greg Miller
But you look at this and I'm like what?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, they show gameplay. It's very much like a not me type of game. It's all. Honestly, it's probably more of a you kind of game because it looks like Diablo. Yeah, it's a Diablo Action RPG PvPve.
Greg Miller
Okay, I know the PvP. Yeah, but you drop. Usually you're pretty light on the pee. Or you can go, you know, choose to pee if you want to pee.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, our style, like I look at this and I'm like, oh, this looks like the problem.
Greg Miller
I look at this and I'm just Like this looks like a hundred other games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Where it's just like, okay, I guess it could be cool. But yeah, there's, I feel a thousand other games like that. I said 100 now. I'm saying a thousand now. Another million just came up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The nice, the nice thing I will say to it is that, like, in looking at the trailer, I was in their YouTube comment section and like, a lot of positivity. It seems like there's a strong, like, there's an audience that's looking forward to this thing that wants to see it be successful and like, has good things to say about it. And so grab your key now. Yeah, I'm, I'm like, yo, I'm all for this. Especially with Square Enix being the ones to see it, play it and be like, yeah, we like this.
Greg Miller
We're going to continue to vaultbreakers.com to grab my key right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you're going to try it out?
Greg Miller
Yeah, of course. That's what I do here, Greg.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You play Vault breakers. And if you end up falling in love with it, that'll be big. It could be huge even. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go?
Greg Miller
You'd go to our last news story where we keep all the small News. That's the WE News Channel story number.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Five, WE News from GameSpot. Rick, Michonne and Daryl face a new kind of. Finally, in the upcoming Dead by Daylight Cross Walking Dead collaboration, Rick Grimes and Michonne are being added as new survivors, while Daryl Dixon will enter the game through a legendary outfit from the walking Dead collection. PlayStation, Sega and Square Enix are confirmed for Tokyo Game Show 2025. Soma for Switch launches July 24th. Black Desert is free on Steam until July 10th. And lastly, from VGC, Marvel's Midnight Suns is available to claim and keep forever as part of Amazon Prime's Prime Day celebrations. And that is it for WE News Midnight Suns.
Greg Miller
You know, I didn't like it. I didn't gel with it for a number of story reasons, but I know so many other people who really did and put like 90 hours into it. So go grab that if you're an Amazon prime person.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
Hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's hop back into super chats for a second before we get out of here. Fizzy writes in and says, do you have any thoughts on the Stop Killing Games initiative? Should games require an end of life plan to keep them from being completely unplayable? Have you heard? I've, I've seen Like rumbles about the Stop Killing Games thing, but it's always like one of those things that's passing my timeline that I haven't had like the time to jump into and deep dive and see what it's all about.
Greg Miller
I'm exactly like you where it's, I, I'm not educated enough on the movement to actually tell you what.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to go to their website.
Greg Miller
We got time, we got tons.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to the Stop Killing Games website. I'm, I, here's the thing, I'll say from title, I like it. Stop Killing Games. I agree. All right, I'm on their website. Stop Killing Games is a consumer movement started to challenge the legality of publishers destroying video games they have sold to customers. An increasing number of video games are sold effectively as goods with no stated expiration date, but designed to be completely unplayable as soon as support from the publisher ends. This practice is a form of planned obsolescence and is not only detrimental to customers, but makes preservation effectively impossible. Furthermore, the legality of this practice is largely untested in many countries. Over the past year, we have successfully escalated complaints on this problem to consumer agencies in France, Germany and Australia and have brought forth petitions for new law on this problem to various countries. A list of actions taken to date can be viewed here. As of 2025, most consumer action on this matter has concluded and we are awaiting decisions on it from several governments. However, there are a few remaining avenues left where people can participate if they're eligible. There's a petition right now. The petition has 1.2 million signatures.
Greg Miller
Yeah, you know, I know people are behind it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. And so yeah, they list like, essentially like guides here and ways to sign different petitions. There's a UK one, there's an EU one. I mean I'm with that mission statement 100% cool. We solved it. Stop Killing Games. Yeah, I think I, I, I think there, there's going to be a uphill battle. I feel like, as far as, like the business side of it, because I, publishers are going to fight against this like very strongly. It's like, well, no, we're going to want to shut down.
Greg Miller
That's why you've seen so many of them move that you're not buying the game, you're buying the license. That way they can revoke the license when whatever, you're renting a license.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I think that like, I don't know how it's going to work for online stuff, like for games. That's impossible. The thing that always pisses me off is when fort. When like an old Forza Horizon or an older Forza Horizon goes off sale.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because it happens like every two Forza Horizon games. Like, it's like, all right, Forza Horizon 3 is no longer available. I'm like, motherfucker, that's. That's a whole unique game that had.
Greg Miller
A whole map that I have memories with.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And like, that's a single player thing to me. I know it's multiplayer mode, but like, how the fuck do you stop selling that? Like, why is that being taken away from me?
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, no, yeah. It's a good. It's a good mission statement. It's a good movement, obviously, to see what can be done.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Do you. Do you think much is going to be done?
Greg Miller
No, I don't hold out hope. And it's not. This is not an insult to them. I just these gigantic corporations and all these other stuff. And like, again, I think what's more likely to happen isn't that they go, ok, cool, you've won. We'll stop killing games. It's like, okay, we will change the Eulas. And they will all be very specific that you never own anything. You're only rent. We will use the word. You're rent. You're buying. Renting a key from us or renting a game or whatever the hell it is. And then it also goes into just the parts of video game upkeep you and I don't understand of how much it costs to run a server. And what does it mean for an online gaming. What if you have an online mode? Is that then classify you as an online game? Which would then be. You could get the loophole out of it and not have to worry about it. Because that's really what we're talking about more than just other games being delisted and going away, even though that is part of the conversation. But as somebody who desperately wants Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 back, like, yeah, don't kill them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I support this. I. My. I like, I'm all for you as far as, like, man, this is a tough road and I'm kind of. I'm with you as far as, like, man, this seems like something that you're not going to win, but go try. You go try. Like, I might throw my full support behind this. I think that's a good idea. Also, a lot of people are saying it's car licensing. I don't give a fuck. I don't. I guess my thing is like, figure, figure it the fuck out Because I think this comes back to the core, the core of this of there are so many licensing issues. Right. There was the time where GTA 4 got like randomly delisted because of soundtrack issues. I understand licensing is a thing. I don't give a like that should be a thing. That should be fixed if you're taking in 2025.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. It's an interesting one of not having those kind of licenses fixed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A humble psyduck writes in the super chats and says just catching up. So I know it's off topic, but all the people I know that played Ghost of Tsushima loved playing Legends.
Greg Miller
How many people do you know? Give me a number.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Exactly.
Greg Miller
Spends $30 again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I forget if you read this one from Killian C, but I'll read it again. This goes back to the last of this conversation. I feel this chronological order kind of defeats the whole idea of. You did read this one. Yeah. Lucy Dream says Greg Thoughts on Snyder Superman Unchained.
Greg Miller
Oh, what is that? It was a comic book from around man of Steel time. I think it might have been a tie in for them. I remember it being flat. It didn't live up to what I wanted. Scott Snyder is a very talented comic book writer whose work I really do love. I mean his Batman stuff was phenomenal. So I was excited for this. But correct me if I'm wrong, we introduced a guy named Wraith and it was like W period, R, period AP. I remember. But it's also New 52 Superman, who I just did not vibe with. You know, I'm very vocal all the time of like, for me, Superman is Clark Kent. Right. And I remember New 52 Superman was very I am an alien. And like not like I just feel out of place but like I am, I am. I am Kryptonian. First I was like, that's not my. My vibe. So I don't. I don't remember it well, nor do I look back on it fondly.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I want to bring another one from Sayer Theo, who says birthday tax Going to catch an early screening of Superman tonight. Looking forward to it. Happy birthday, Sayer.
Greg Miller
Enjoy your Amazon prime showing. Just like I am today.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Your Amazon prime showing you to be.
Greg Miller
An Amazon prime member. To get this, you had to go through the Amazon prime thing portal to get it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Juan, you did all that for.
Greg Miller
I mean it was a click. I'm already logged in to Amazon. It wasn't bad. It was honestly to stop. That was my thought too when it was like Amazon prime tickets go on sale tomorrow. I'M like, what Bullshit. Who? Oh, click, click. Oh, I'm in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's cool.
Greg Miller
My seat in the IMAX shirt and they. They gave you little Superman symbols on the seats.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's cool. That's really neat. How many showings are you going to this week?
Greg Miller
Currently I have tickets to four showings. Four. So I had yesterday's today, then Jen and I have a date on Thursday night, and then Tim and I have a date on Friday afternoon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Greg Miller
I don't think I can take many to it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, no, because the content. Yeah, I feel that. Yeah, there's a lot going on.
Greg Miller
I think this is gonna have to wait till we get home. We skip certain scenes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I could see that James Gunn doing his. Putting his filthy middle little paws on that thing.
Greg Miller
I mean, yeah, the language, I don't mind. Yeah, but it was the part.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
I was like, oh, that's not. He can't see that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then Ty Wilkins Vo writes in and says, sadly, I see PlayStation doing what they did to last us multiplayer from successful first version and then messing it up with live service onto essentially comparing it to Ghost of Sushi Legends. Right. Of lastest most player and lastest one. Fucking phenomenal. And then they canceled Last was online.
Greg Miller
And what happened there? Hey, naughty dog. You did a great thing here, but it was too small. Let's go big and make a lot of money. Yeah, that's my concern with, you know, where we are at with PlayStation, what they would have done on this. Stevo 290 says, oh, I'm taking my seven year old to see Superman tonight. Hope he's okay. After a little, he'll be fine. Remember, Ben is three and a half.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
There's certain things in the world he doesn't know about yet he doesn't need to know about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Jared Horowitz writes in and says, paying my wedding tax, I'm getting married this Friday. I therefore will not be able to see Superman on opening day. Congratulations on the wedding, Jared.
Greg Miller
I still boo you, but yes, congratulations. I mean, what a perfect reception.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ready? Let's go do the dinner.
Greg Miller
And we're going to the imax. We rented out the imax. We're all going Superman then.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ty Wilkins VO has an earlier super chat that says, love you blessed. But Ray has the crown logo on lock. I don't think I've ever seen the crown logo associated with Ray.
Greg Miller
I'm going, he's glasses. That's what I associate with him and the corgis. Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Twitch tv. Ray Narvaez I assume that's his thing.
Greg Miller
He used to be Brown Man. Did he change it finally?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, this is somebody's thing.
Greg Miller
Somebody's thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah. No, this is Ray. Nope, this is not Ray. It's somebody who's pretending to be Ray with 85 followers.
Greg Miller
Told you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You said Brown man.
Greg Miller
Yeah, Brown man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No way. Junior. It's Junior. There's a Junior at the end of it. Wait, no, he just has Switch tv Ray.
Greg Miller
Dude, imagine being that popular.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's fucking.
Greg Miller
I want sick. I want Twitch tv. Greg.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't see any crown on his page, so. Oh, nope, there it is. Yeah, it's the glasses and then the crown on top of it. Are you calling Ray?
Greg Miller
I am. He's got to know this is a fight now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He's not gonna answer.
Greg Miller
Probably streaming, right? Hello? Hello, Is this Ray? It's Greg. What?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The one and only Greg Miller. Kind of funny games. How's it going?
Greg Miller
Good. You're live on Twitch TV. Kind of funny games and YouTube.com kind of funny games. How are you?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm doing well. How are you? Good, sir.
Greg Miller
I'm excellent. How many. How many. How many Superman showings have you bought so far?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The wife is actually going to get us some tickets to the one very soon.
Greg Miller
Excellent. That's. That's. That is the good. That is good. All right. That is you getting the carrot from me. I'm praising you there. Sadly, I have to. Yes, go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Go ahead, sir. I was gonna say, I just want to make you proud.
Greg Miller
Okay, great. I do have to bring the whip, though. We are claiming the crown logo for blessing, and we were making a big deal about this. We're set to sell a bomber jacket that we're really interested in that we just pitched, but then somebody in the chat had to narc on you and say, hey, Ray already does the crown thing, so now we gotta say stop or we're gonna sue you. I mean, I.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, you guys could do the crown thing. I give you guys permission.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Oh, I understand. Well, you can't give permission for something that's ours is what I'm saying. I will sue for this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh.
Greg Miller
Oh. You have violated my copyright.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got it. I got it.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, you know what? I'm gonna cancel the Superman showing.
Greg Miller
You son of a fucking bitch. Don't do it, Ray. That's too far. Don't hit me where it hurts.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How about this? How about this? I give you guys a crisp 100 gifted subs and you don't sue.
Greg Miller
I'll take it all right, that sounds great. All right, thank you, Ray. We'll talk to you later.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My. My people will talk to your people. Have a good rest of your stream. I love you.
Greg Miller
Love you, too. Bye.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, I was concerned at first, but we got to a pretty good resolution.
Greg Miller
Can you imagine if everyone I called was nice enough to give 100 subs?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's, like, very generous.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Extremely generous.
Greg Miller
I guarantee if I call Jack Quaid right now, he won't even understand how to log into Twitch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He was like. He's like, what is Twitch? I don't need YouTube. Is that for gaming? Can you take pictures on there?
Greg Miller
I don't know what goes on. I was, yeah, can I take a photo? I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know. None of this makes sense to me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's hop over to kind of funny.com dirt bag where you write in, let us know what we got wrong as you got it wrong, so you can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe, Kebabs writes in with missed we news. Rocket League turns 10 today.
Greg Miller
Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
10 years old for Rocket League. That's.
Greg Miller
Wow, that's crazy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How old was I when I played Rocket league? I was 21. I just turned 21 when I played Rocket League.
Greg Miller
I was 21. I'm gonna try to bring up the original.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I played Rocket League, like, the week after I drank for the first time. Crazy had Red Zappa Ale. It was buzzed reds, red Zapple Ale.
Greg Miller
So hold on. How can I trace this back? Because I want to see when we played Rocket League. God, were we even. We probably weren't even uploading our to YouTube at that point. Sorry. I'm trying to figure out if you're.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Trying to find, like, the gameplay when.
Greg Miller
Dunham came by and Doug Perry was in the spare bedroom and they were all on the floor.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Laker set says I was 21 in 2011. What the fuck? We're just four years off because you're 35 now. These are regular ages to be everybody.
Greg Miller
Here's what we're going to do. We're going to go into the back end of YouTube and I'll put Rocket League in quotes. That's how I'll start seeing if we have it up here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then Kebab's right in with another Ms. We news as we're doing. You're wrong. She got in there at the last second and said, the Astrobot soundtrack is out on vinyl now. Also, I sent in the Rocket League one yesterday, so. Yesterday was Rocket League's 10th birthday.
Greg Miller
Nobody cares. All right. You did Good job. We don't tell you that enough.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Kebabs. Yeah, you know what? That's fair. Thank you. Kebabs. What are you looking up right now? You try. You still trying to find this Rocket League video?
Greg Miller
Yeah, hold on. I got this because they came by and did a demo for sure. Oh my God.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's one with you and Colin nine years ago.
Greg Miller
Yeah, that's when I've opened. But I remember, I thought I remember Dunham being on the stream with us. Here it is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, there's Ray's hundred gifted subs.
Greg Miller
Thank you, Ray. We got a guilt more people into content, so here's what I got. So, Kevin. Yeah, I. The one I'm thinking of was actually a Colin and Greg Live and I.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wasn'T in the twitch chat for that.
Greg Miller
And we must. Yeah, okay, interesting. I'm gonna send you the link all the same. Colin, Greg Live tossing assets. It's private on our channel. This is back when we just were trying to back things up, but it's when Dunham came through, so he came through us. That still makes sense. Well, I guess it does.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Kind of funny. Launched and rebranded is kind of funny in 2015, correct.
Greg Miller
Okay, well, no, we rebranded in 2014 and September 2014 and then we launched as a Patreon. Yeah, yeah. Is independent January 5, 2015. So yeah, there's this. I'm trying to find the one where it was us playing with. It must have been this day. He stayed and then we did the live stream, but we didn't archive the live stream is what I'm guessing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know.
Greg Miller
