Today's stories include Helldivers 2 Teases, a crossover with Halo. Remedy says they're unsatisfied with FBC. Firebreak and Resident Evil. Requiem is getting a new trailer at Gamescom. Love all this more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. What's up and welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Of course. I'm your host, Tim Gaddies. I am joined by the Poppy of all trades, Pop Blessing. Adio. Yeah, Junior.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good day, Tim.
Tim Gaddis
Good day to you. How you doing on this beautiful Tuesday morning?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm doing well. What's up with your clock on your phone? It's all stretched.
Tim Gaddis
It's. It's the new iOS update where it. It like tries to look good with each picture, so. Oh, it'll just like. Every time you tap, it's a different picture. It moves and it like refrain.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is that AI?
Tim Gaddis
Sure it is. Yeah, it's cool. I don't know. I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Not that AI is cool, but that usage of it is cool.
Tim Gaddis
Stretching a clock, I think it's okay here, listen, I.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
With stretching the clock.
Tim Gaddis
That's co.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, I just want to.
Tim Gaddis
You rocking these days?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I literally just upgraded my phone a couple weeks ago.
Tim Gaddis
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I have the Galaxy S25 Ultra. I was rocking the S24 before the Ultra bigger. So big that I still have my old phone. But now if I pick up that phone, it feels really tiny. I'm like, what was I doing for years?
Tim Gaddis
It's wild. Yeah, I'm a big boy. I like them as big as humanly possible.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Listen, I love that about you. I also like. I love Android. I love Galaxy. I've been using Galaxy phones for probably over a decade at this point. They don't do anything like. As far as. As far as like upgrading year to year. Oh, right.
Tim Gaddis
What's where we're at? What do you want?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know, man. Make it stretchy.
Tim Gaddis
Clocks. Bless.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Make it grow legs and like walk around and do my chores for me. I don't know. It doesn't do like. It's the same exact phone I had, but bigger. And I'm sure if I got the regular S25, it would just be the same phone.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Maybe the processing power is faster, but I can't tell because I never. We got to a point where that wasn't a thing that I was thinking about anymore.
Tim Gaddis
Every time that I think there's not some upgrade that actually matters something when it will catch me off guard. Yeah, it'll Be like, years will go by where I'm just like, we are so good. And then something will happen that I'm like, that just seems like a marketing gimmick. And then I use it. I'm like, oh, I will say this is cool for me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The.
Tim Gaddis
The pro display. So the 120Hz. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got a pen that pops out of my phone now.
Tim Gaddis
It's a game changer. And it sucks because I have an iPad mini that's only 60 hertz. And it's the jiggle when you try to, like, swipe left and right and you look at the apps move and like, even. Just like reading a comic book, swiping the pages, just the. The animation. You see all the frames on it. And I'm like, oh, this is driving me crazy. And I never would have thought that would have been. I would. 100 frames on a phone. Why? I get it now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What is your thought on these touchphones that fold, like the Z fold seven?
Tim Gaddis
So I. The flip ones. Yeah, I truly. It's. It's a market that is not me. Right. Like, that is. I understand it if you are really into using your phone as a mirror or like, selfies for some reason or like, vlogging to some extent, and you don't want to actually have a vlog set up like a proper one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I with the I with the Z fold seven. Because that is, like, it's. It starts as a regular phone and then folds out into a square, which is like, bigger I with that. But yeah, the ones that you're talking about that are the flips. I forget which one. It's not Samsung, even though I think Samsung has one. But there was another one flip in the fold. The flip in the fold. Well, there's like, another company that I saw their ad for, like, their version of the. The. The flip, and I swear to God, they're just making up scenarios.
Tim Gaddis
That's how I feel.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
It's like I watch it. I truly feel. I'm like, okay, like, all of your bullet points of, like, this is why you'd want this. Like, I don't want.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, it's like somebody at Coachella and they put it down on a thing so all, like, them and their friends can take selfies in front of it and stuff. I'm like, I don't know about all that.
Tim Gaddis
Is it the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, is this the one? This might be the one. I saw the Motorola razr.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. But like I said, it must be for somebody, or else the market will Speak. And it won't be for anybody. Yeah, but I'm with you. Where I'm actually very interested in the fold technology of like being able to just fold the phone out and have it be more iPad mini. Like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gaddis
I'm firmly in the Apple ecosystem, so I'm waiting for Apple to do it and then we'll see how prohibitively expensive that is. I bet you it's $2,000 y but yeah, the I I've played with the Galaxy Fold 6. I haven't touched the 7 yet and I've been very impressed. The crease still drives me a little crazy that we're not quite where I want it to be, but we are shockingly closer than I expected.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I I got to hold a Z Fold seven. I we sound like I we're sponsored. I'm not sponsored, but got to hold a Z fold 7 for the first time a couple weeks ago. I need it. I fuck with it.
Tim Gaddis
So awesome.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I fuck with it.
Tim Gaddis
So what's your use case for the square? Because that's the thing. I'm a use case guy always when it comes to specifically, like my everyday tech. Like, I, I really want to make sure that I'm not just buying something that's new and fancy just because it's new and fancy. I want the new and fancy shit to like, speak to me for some reason for my life. And I feel like oftentimes they'll add features to get in the way of my life. And when it comes to this phone, it kind of gives me all the real estate I need. And apps are kind of made for this shape.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gaddis
So I'm a little concerned about the app compatibility, like, being perfect on a different aspect ratio, especially like such a wildly different one that is way more square and way more iPad or tablet. Like. Yeah, but my use case is reading comics, like, because I don't like an iPad. A little too big. The iPad mini, it's that per. Especially like the more recent iPad mini that is full screen. Oh yeah. It's perfectly comic sized.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, that's the reason why I haven't shelled out money for it is that I don't have a an important enough use case for it. For me, it really is the thing of just holding it and looking at how big the screen is. It is like having a, like a tablet and then like I was scrolling through TikTok or whatever. Turns out there's a lot of TikTok videos that are formatted for that exact aspect ratio. And I wouldn't even have thought about it. Like half the edits that I watch on Tick Tock would have taken over my Tick Tock. Are you on the. In the edit side of things like the.
Tim Gaddis
I. I want to say the answer is yes, but I don't know what.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You'Re asking and it's like the, like the FMVs or not like the AMVs, like the anime.
Tim Gaddis
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That people do.
Tim Gaddis
Yes, yes. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They are now doing it for everything on Tick Tock.
Tim Gaddis
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're doing edits for wrestling. They're doing edits like Fan Hamilton.
Tim Gaddis
But like fan camps are more a little cooler.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like.
Tim Gaddis
Well, not cooler. I'm not trying to yuck your yum.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But yeah, I mean don't bet it's.
Tim Gaddis
Don't bet it's of things we like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes, I am firmly in that they're always in like that squarish aspect ratio and. And when I saw. When I watched one on the fucking.
Tim Gaddis
You might just be getting got here. You know what I mean? Samsung got your number, bro. They're fucking. They're like, they're like bless is this close. We just got it. Let's pump all of the square videos to him.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Here's the thing. I'm not sponsored by Z Fold. The person that let me like use theirs and look through it is sponsored by Z Fold. And so maybe they were trying to get me. Yeah, maybe they were. And let me tell you, they got.
Tim Gaddis
Me people on the inside.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, how is this color not doing things for you?
Tim Gaddis
Oh no, it is. Sorry, Kevin, I wasn't giving a Look.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How beautiful that is.
Tim Gaddis
I love it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Also the. The Z fold 7 is super, super thin. It is very thin. Yes. Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Oh man. Well, enough about phone talk for now everybody, because this is kind of Funny Games daily, each and every weekday we run you through the video game news you need to know about live on YouTube, Twitch and podcast services around the globe. If you love what we do, support us with the kind at funny membership on Patreon, YouTube and now Spotify and Apple podcasts to get all of our shows ad free and. And a daily exclusive show that is for me today. Greg Way. Yeah, I'm just realizing now that I don't know what I'm gonna talk about. Oh some.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Another use case for the SE is like you can kind of use it as almost like a text situation where you like fold it up a little bit and then like you have like one half as the keyboard and then you're typing on the top half. Just saying, just saying make a Gregory about that.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, make a Gregory.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
About what? Like the your thoughts on the Z fold versus the Z flip versus your regular whack ass.
Tim Gaddis
Maybe I will, maybe I'll just do, do a little phone talk. But yeah, if you have better ideas, please tweet at me, let me know what you want me to talk about today. For a chance to be part of this show though, please YouTube Super Chat your opinions as we go. If you have questions for us, ask them and we'll answer a little housekeeping for you. We're an 11 person business all about live talk shows. Today after Games Daily, you're going to get Gamescast, which is a shit list episode. We're doing something a little bit different today. Shit list for something that's not video games. We're doing the shit list for the top 25 superhero movies of all time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gaddis
And you, you suggested we do this and I'm like, I'm excited. Obviously I haven't seen the list. Yeah, I want to know what they have to say.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I believe it's from Esquire. And yeah, I was just going through Reddit because Reddit, every week Reddit has a post that is, oh, this should be a shit list. This should be a shit list. And so when we do a shit list, at least for this last time yesterday, I just typed in kind of funny Reddit shit list.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And legitimately just a list of posts came up. And I saw that one, I was like, okay, well that's recent enough. And also that's a really fun conversation.
Tim Gaddis
I'm excited because the thing about best superhero movies of all time list is no one's going to be happy. The chat's going to hate it. We're probably not going to get along. That's the beauty of this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I bet you we can probably find an amicable. We both agree on this list you can put together.
Tim Gaddis
We'll see.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, I don't know about Esquire, but me and you, I think.
Tim Gaddis
Okay, we'll see. You'll have to tune in after this. After Gamescast is going to be mafia. The old country with Nick seemed to go really well yesterday. So, Kev, do you, do you have anything to say about yesterday's stream?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The game is like really chill and relaxing and it was just fun to talk to Nick about how great Italy is. He said he was going to bring some dried meats, so I'm really bummed that I'm not running that show.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, Nick's going full Italian on this one. So if you want to see Nick in his own. Check that out later. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rays and Aura Frames. But we'll tell you all about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have seven stories today.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Baker's Doer.
Tim Gaddis
Story number one Hell Divers two Teases Halo ODST Crossover Ahead of Xbox Release this comes from Wesley Inpole at IGN. Hell Divers 2 looks set for an unlikely Halo crossover after a new trailer teased the arrival of the ODST. Arrowhead's huge, hugely successful PC and PlayStation 5 third person shooter launches on Xbox on August 26th as the first Sony published game on Microsoft's console. The trailer ends with what looks like the arrival of an ODST on a rain drenched battlefield alongside the iconic music from the game. It's all very odst. Wes, does this do anything for you?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, no. It's funny because I am probably at this point in my life slightly more of a Halo person actually. Probably like I'm more, I'm more of a Halo person than a Helldivers person. That is to say that I'm just not a Helldivers person.
Tim Gaddis
Gotcha.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I like the last Halo game a lot, so it doesn't do much for me. I think it's a really neat thing that I want to see more. I think if you're going to do the thing where you're publishing your game on another console, you got to lean fully into it. Don't just half ass it. Don't just, just throw the game on the console and be like, all right here, here, you, you know, you idiots playing on the other console, go have fun with our toy or whatever. It's like, no, you got to serve that audience and meet them where they're at. And so this one makes a lot of sense for the kind of games that Halo is and the kind of game that Helldivers is. And then also it's a thing that I've seen hype about on the Internet, right. I think when people are asking to for Helldivers 2 on the platform, they wanted to see these kind of crossovers. They wanted they, there are the comparisons of like oh man, Helldivers Twos in space and has aliens and Halo has that.
Tim Gaddis
Why not the drops specifically? It's being dropped onto the planet or the battlefield. Right. Like this is one of those crossovers that's just so Smart. Like, you see it and you're like, this absolutely just makes sense. It has to happen, because it's not Master Chief. This is odst. Like, this feels like the people doing this, there is love and care, but behind it, it's not just like, oh, slap the most popular thing on it. Chief might be a part of this. And, like, I wouldn't be surprised if, like, the outfits of the different Spartans are there too. But going back to odst, it just warms my heart because ODST is kind of a fan favorite of the Halo games. Smaller title, spin off title. You're not a Spartan. You're just one of the ODST soldiers. It was. It had a different vibe, that at a time that I feel Halo really needed that, Xbox really needed that. And just gaming at large, this felt like Uncharted Lost Legacy of like, oh, wow, we love this franchise now we're getting more of it, slightly smaller, but it's different enough because of the protagonist and just the kind of things that they learn from Uncharted 4 to apply to this, they're like, I just feel like ODST kind of came at the right time, did what it needed to do. Like, this was in an era where, you know, Halo 2 and 3 were really innovating what multiplayer shooters could be on console. Right. Obviously, Halo 2 was, like, the. One of the first games to have a map pack on console, and you had to buy a disc with the map pack on it. Like, you couldn't just download it. And then you get to Halo 3. And then we were starting to get into a little bit more of a robust online ecosystem with Xbox360. And, yeah, by the time ODS was coming out, it was kind of just like one of the first Halo projects where they were like, all right, we got all the. The thing the kinks worked out from the past, previous titles, like, let's do something cool and different here. And it really hit. And so for it to be, what, 20 years later, it feels like coming back and being referenced, like, directly with its music and having its systems in place, like, that's. It's awesome, man. Like I said, it warms my heart.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I think it makes this release even more of an event. Right. Hey, if you're. If you're a Halo fan, this thing that you loved from years and years, decades ago, right? Decades. Goddamn.
Tim Gaddis
Well, 2000. When was ODST?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, when was that? At least over a decade, I'm gonna guess. As we look it up, I'm gonna say 2010, 2009. Oh, I was close. Yeah, I was close. So yeah, something that's that from back in the day. Right. Having that comeback and having a comeback in this separate release that PlayStation is trying to hype up for the Xbox fans. Right. Trying to give you reasons to want to hop in as opposed to just it being a port. Hey, now you got something to look forward to within that. That. That I think is going to drive even more people to want to show up to it. I think that's very smart and I think. Yeah, this is super exciting.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. It's just cool. And like you were saying, it's cool that as we're starting to see more kind of cross platform from the Big Dog exclusives that we're still in this era of. This feels like crossing a forbidden bridge.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
You know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. This feels. This still feels special and unique.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you think, what do you think is the next PlayStation published game on Xbox? But it's funny too that like this game on this, this article mentions that this is the first PlayStation published game. I didn't realize that I thought it would have the show until I looked it up and realized that that game is published by mlb, which is hilarious. And I forgot about that is.
Tim Gaddis
That's interesting. I mean the chat say Marvel Token. Pretty. Dude, I'm still not convinced. I think it's the right call. I think they should. I'm just still not convinced that I think it'll be PC and PS5, but.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it'll come later.
Tim Gaddis
Maybe. I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I could see it coming later. I don't see. I don't see it a launch because they haven't announced it for launch. I think if it was going to be there then they would have said.
Tim Gaddis
I don't know, man. I. I'm still. Anything can happen. Anything. Go for it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, Marathon.
Tim Gaddis
What was it? Marathon already? Well, that's just confirmed, right? Yeah, yeah, technically, yeah. But no, but that is the answer. Removing it from that, which I do think it will.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
But we're not sure, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. I'm. I'm still not of the belief that Spider man and God of War and Last of Us are going to end up on Xbox. All I need is for one of those to happen. And then I'm like, okay, they're all coming.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
But like right now I still just believe that that PlayStation is going to hold out on those titles. And I keep saying this, but it's like this is only going to matter for so long because once we get to the next generation of Xbox, it's just a PC, so we're not going to need to worry about it. These games will be on Xbox inherently. Because everything we've heard is that Steam is on Xbox. So. Yeah, it's a silly argument.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fair enough.
Tim Gaddis
There is still the switch to side, right? Because there is still this other console that will be existing. And what will PlayStation end up doing with that, if anything? You know, like, obviously we saw LEGO Horizon Adventures last year. That very much felt like a testing the waters to an extent. It's not a full on test because like there's too many variables at play. Like it is not a core Horizon title. It is a completely different game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
You know, but looking at a different audience. But audience younger, switch younger. So yeah, I don't know what, what about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What would be your dream collaboration? Like if you could see, let's say PlayStation puts out a game and it comes to Xbox or even vice versa. Right. For like the future of Xbox games coming to PlayStation. What kind of collaboration similar to this Halo Odyssey crosshair. Everything that would you want to see? If there, if that. If there isn't even a case of that.
Tim Gaddis
Here's where this gets a little hard. I love crossovers. I feel like no matter what happens in life, I'll always love crossovers. We're clearly in a place of crossover fatigue across all mediums and we've been here for a long time. Right. That's why this excites me. Because it's smart and well thought out and it's not just putting Master Chief in it. It is thinking about the gameplay of Helldivers and what cool partnership can we do across the games here? Like, this is very different, but Top Gun and Flight Simulator, the way they did their crossover, that just made sense and they went the extra mile to like actually make it feel worthwhile. The Pirates of the Caribbean and Sea of Thieves. Right. That to me. Or Monkey island in Sea of Thieves. Inspired choices. It's not just crossover for crossover sake, you know, it's not just Fortnite where Beavis is shooting the Power Ranger. And I'm not talking shit about that because I think that that's cool too. But I think all of it leads to this kind of ready Player one into the Spider verse. You can say Fortnite literally for all of it. Yeah, all of it. Just like we're, we're kind of jaded. Space Jam new legacy. Like people go into this wanting to just be like even Astrobot to an extent of just like it is going to criticism. You know what I mean? I'm not there personally, but it's only if it's good. Like, if the. If the story's good, if the characters are good and it just. Crossovers create complications and it. It makes stories you care about mean less. If they don't take it seriously and make sure that they're showing respect to both sides, if.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If everything is crossing over everything, then these crossovers stop hitting. They stop mattering. It starts to be thinking of like, well, I don't give a fuck, because this character was just in this other thing anyway. Right. I think the. All the ones you're listening are, are, I think, apt comparisons. I even think, though, with like an Astrobot or a Smash Brothers. Right. There's enough care. Even though they are. Everybody's here. There is an intention with it that I think still makes that stuff stick. But yeah, when you. When I think of a Fortnite, obviously, that is Fortnite's bread, bread and butter. And this is just what Fortnite does. And so I'm not mad at it by any means. But yeah, there is a level of, all right, I'm playing as Goku and I'm running alongside Superman and Peter Griffin and like these other random characters. And so if you're going to do a crossover, you want it with intention. You want it in a way that makes sense and is going to feed the audience in a way that's actually exciting. The one that comes to mind. And I don't know how you do it, but I would say Uncharted and Indiana Jones, obviously, because there's lineage of Uncharted is based off of what Indiana Jones. Throw Lara in there too. Right. But if I'm Talking about the PlayStation Xbox aspect of it, I think that could be a fun thing, even if it is just a. A costume or you find like a treasure in Indiana Jones that is a specific, like one from Uncharted or something like that. Right. Like, I think that could be a fun crossover. But you would even that it's like, I'd want it to be done in a way that's smart.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. And like, this goes kind of goes back to what I was saying about, like, having to show respect to both sides. Like, I. There's certain franchises I care a lot about. And like, Spider man is one of them. And Spider man is one of my favorite examples of multiverse stuff, like dating back to the Spider Verse comics in like 2013 or so when they were coming out, I was obsessed with them because Every issue, you never knew what character they were going to reference. Whether it's like the movie Spider man or the cartoon Spider man from the 60s or Spider man toys that they had that were like, there's like a toy universe. And like, I thought that was so novel and cool at the time. Other crossovers have happened in the past, but what I loved about it is they really cared about each of the spider worlds as if the stories in those worlds all happened. But then afterwards, the problem is when these characters go back to their normal comic stories, they very rarely reference the fact that. That they met a bunch of other versions of themselves.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
You know, and I know that not every story can reference every single thing. Nor should it, because then you just. It creates too much homework. And then it's that MCU problem of people being like, so you're telling me I need to watch 42 shows to understand what's going on. Like, you don't want that. So I get it. But as a fan that gives a. And wants to keep up with the stories, I'm always a little disappointed that like one of the craziest things of all time doesn't seem to be like something that they care about. I'm going off on a tangent here. Point stance.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I understand it.
Tim Gaddis
All right. We got a couple super chats here. We got Street Shadow saying marathons being published by PlayStation Studios. And the Street Shadow says Token has already announced as PS5 and PC only. I only see it coming to Xbox or Switch. After years, Sony's basically made itself the home of fighting games, anime and most Marvel games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I think the reason why I say I could see it is because I. I do see the enough of. Enough similarities with Helldivers 2. Right. It is a. We're bringing in a third party studio to make something that PlayStation is publishing. It's a game that's already launching on PlayStation and PC. It is multiplayer. Right? It is. I think there's enough of those things where it's. No, this makes sense. I think for PlayStation there's probably still the resistance. No pun intended. Pun intended. Pun intended. 2025, we're intending our puns. There is the resistance for a God of war, for a horizon for these single player games. Because you still have the business strategy of these games are selling the console, which is why you don't see them coming to PC day one. Which could change eventually. Right? Everything could change eventually. Could see these games come to Xbox eventually. In fact, we probably will if this PC thing stands. But I think Marvel, Token along with Helldivers 2 can have this layered strategy of. All right, let's see what the streets are saying. Let's see what the vibe is. All right. Is there a demand there? We'll meet that demand on Xbox when we get the bandwidth to be able to make that port happen or when we feel satisfied with how it's been doing on other platforms to then carry it over. But it being PlayStation, how long has it been since hello, Diverse 2 released? It's been like a year and a half.
Tim Gaddis
Because it was January, right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Last year it was like. Yeah, like January, February last year. So I would expect maybe that same cadence of a year and a half, which sucks. I wish it could be shorter, but I. My pizza bet we do pizza bets is that it eventually comes to Xbox within two years.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. And. Oh, God. Scared me with the light coming out. I was like, what's happening? Yeah, I mean, I'll take that. Like. Sorry, sorry. I mean, I'm with you. I'm with you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gaddis
I just. I don't see it coming day one. And I think it should. I really think it should. And I just don't think they're going to do that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I agree with you. Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
But yeah, like, within two years. I don't know. Like, I'm not. I'm still 5050 on it though, mainly because, like, I just don't know what Xbox is going to look like in two years. And, like, we'll see how well Helldiver sells. I think that's. That's going to be a key metric. And then you also will look at what gear sells on PlayStation. It's a sheer numbers game. Right. Like, there's no chance that Gears sells less than Helldivers. Right. For a multitude of reasons.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, that's a. I mean, yeah, that's a tough question because they're both such different scenarios.
Tim Gaddis
Different scenarios.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hellivers, he was more. I guess Gears is a remaster, so technically that's more fresh. Right. But Helldivers 2 was a new game.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Newer game is more fresh, more talked about the player number. Like the active player numbers are higher. Multiplayer. I mean Gears and multiple. Yeah, that's a weird one.
Tim Gaddis
Oh, my saying. Yes, there is. Old game is old and tender voices. I don't know about that. Gears is on Game Pass, though. Yeah, but I'm sorry, I'm simply talking about on plate sales. PlayStation of Gears vs sales on Xbox of Helldivers. The tough thing, it is interesting because there's a lot of factors that push and pull each One in different.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because I think for me, the biggest factor is that the PlayStation is outsold Xbox astronomically. And so I think by sheer numbers of player base, that's it. It be Gears, because there's just more people to buy Gears. But I think if things were equal in that regard.
Tim Gaddis
No, it's gonna be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If things were equal in that regard, Heldivers is the bullet. And I still think, even though that number is like, way imbalanced, I still. I still do think held hours could sell more Hell Divers is not coming to game pass, right? I don't think it's coming to game pass. No, I think I'm saying Hell Divers.
Tim Gaddis
All right. I'm saying hell. Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is this a pizza bat?
Tim Gaddis
I think this is the pizza.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right. Roll the thing again. I'm saying, hello, average 2 sells more than Gears Reloaded.
Tim Gaddis
Here's what we'll do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Please see, if I am wrong, I.
Tim Gaddis
Will buy you that expensive sushi roll you like delivered here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, first of all, it's the opposite of expensive, which is why I order.
Tim Gaddis
It all the time. Sorry.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Take it though.
Tim Gaddis
Okay. That'll be the thing. And then, yeah, like, you just buy me coffee.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'll buy you coffee.
Tim Gaddis
A lot of coffee.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. You know, this does. This isn't a pizza bet if we're not buying pizza.
Tim Gaddis
Sushi bet.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sushi bet.
Tim Gaddis
Get on the graphic. Okay, there we go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're shaking on. We're shaking on it.
Tim Gaddis

Not. Not to linger too long on this. My question the ODST crossover teased, is that Xbox exclusive? We don't know that yet. See, that's.
Tim Gaddis
That you. Thank you for bringing that up because I think that's a bigger conversation that we had earlier. I. I expect that it is. If it's not, it's upsetting to me because I feel like we are at a point. I've been saying this now for way too goddamn long. For as long as I've been talking about the dominoes, I feel like after that, I've been talking about ripping the band aid off. Like, there's so many calls that just make the call and let's go down the path. And we're now so far down that path that if something silly like this wasn't on PlayStation, my question would be why?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, yeah. So you're saying it should be everywhere. 100%, I agree. But also, I feel like it's better for my pet, for my bet if it's Xbox exclusive, because that's what's going to drive people. But you're right, it doesn't make sense for it to be exclusive.
Tim Gaddis
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, fair enough.
Tim Gaddis
Story number two. Remedy was unsatisfied with FBC Firebreak's launch sales, but says it has a solid game to build on. This comes from Chris Scullion at vgc. Remedy Entertainment says it was unsatisfied by poor launch sales of FPC Firebreak, but believes it has a solid game to build on and can win players over. The CO op PvE first person shooter set in the Control universe was released on June 17th on PS5, Xbox and PC and is not only Remedy's first full multiplayer game, but also its first first fully self published game in it in its half year. Financial report published today, the publisher says that while the launch was a technical success because it reached over a million players in its first 10 days, this didn't necessarily result in a financial success since the majority of the players were Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 users. The game was released on both Xbox and PlayStation plus, meaning it's unlikely many players bought the game full price on those systems. Instead, Remedy received an initial accrual from subscription service agreements with Sony and Microsoft, a payment for putting its games on their service. Remedy would have been hoping sales of the PC version would have covered for low console sales, instead noted on Steam, which was planned as the primary consumer sales channel on PC, the launch underperformed. The publisher says the initial feedback on the game was negative, but also says that over time it's worked hard to turn this around and it claims its players who have stuck with it are happier with it now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's your take on FBC Firebreak?
Tim Gaddis
My take on Remedy is like, wow, the most unique devs in the space.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
The transparency is off the charts. The way that they talk about games that are where they're at in the progress of their games. No one else does that. Yeah, no one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
And you know, even if there's indie developers that do, I feel like there's something about the scale that remedies out of the multiple projects they're working on and them being able to talk about success and failures in a way that I read this and I, I, I start to be like, but where's the catch? What are you not telling us? And it's like, oh no, they're telling us all of it. They're telling. None of this sounds good except for the fact that they're sticking with it because they believe that their fan base is there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, some more bullet points I want to shout out, shout out to Noble for breaking some of these down. Right. They say there's a major update planned for late September for Firebreak. They said control has surpassed 5 million sales. Control 2 is on track meeting its next Milestones and Max Payne 1 and 2 remake remains in full production. And that's to like, the transparency that you're talking about. Right. Like, they're so open with how they talk about their games and how they perform and where they're at in the development process. FBC Firebreak is one that I like. I. I was having a conversation with Roger about this before the show, mainly about, like, all right, you played FEC Firebreak. I didn't play FEC Firebreak. Like, what the. What is the deal with this game? He was like, yeah, no, it's kind of rough. Like, he, Roger didn't love it. And it sounds like, I mean, based off of this article. Right. Initial feedback on the game was negative. I wonder if. I wonder a few things, but. Right. One, can you get FPC Firebreak to a place where we're considering it a success? Can you get. It sounds like they're optimist optimistic about it. Right. But like, is there. Is that realistic with it? FPC Firebreak was one that for me, I think in that initial reveal, my interest was a little piqued because it took place in the control universe. But then once I saw more of that gameplay, I was like, okay, no, this isn't really what I want out of this universe. And I kind of have the thing of. Did this game make sense to make, like, the way that it's made? The way that, like, it being a game that takes place in the control universe, does that do a lot for the game or for the audience of control wanting to check out this game when it's something so completely different from what that game is? Yeah, I think for me, that's my biggest question. My other question, actually, I'm gonna ask you your thoughts on that before I get to my other thing, which is more of a hot take.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, I mean, look, that's the thing is like, clearly this, this is one of those examples of why was this game made. There's so much about it that feels weird for Remedy to make this game. FBC Firebreak, a multiplayer game after the success of Allen Way 2 and control and just like this role that they've been on recently. Yeah, to me it's like twofold. It's clearly there's passion to make this type of game there from some type of team. And clearly there's an opportunity for them to be like, yo, there's another source of revenue here that can help fund these other projects that we have our. We're putting our all into. So I, I feel like this game Existing makes sense for what remedy's at. They are taking a swing. Was it the right call? Is it the right call to keep supporting it? I am not so sure about all of that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
But mainly I say that because all right, they're unsatisfied by poor launch sales, but 10 million or a million users in 10 days, mainly from the services on Game Pass. It's like we go in circles all the time about the money and the conversation around what Game Pass and PS plus and similar services are doing to the sales of games and are they taking that all into consideration when it, when tomorrow sales? Well, like here's a perfect example of the main success of this game was those platforms and that didn't allow in enough money. Whether or not the sales were satisfying overall, the game wasn't satisfying enough from a revenue perspective for them for it to be a hit. But they are like, all right, we're close enough that we can get there. They believe.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But my question is, are they? Because I. Can you guess how many people do you think are playing FBC Firebreak right now on Steam?
Tim Gaddis
I don't know. This is the type of thing where I, because you, I. We normally talk about the big number. So it's like150,000 people are playing whatever the hell game. Yeah, the big ones say anything higher than that. I, I don't know. Let's see. Play that on steam right now. 4,000.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's 20.
Tim Gaddis
20 people.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
20 people.
Tim Gaddis
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Playing right now on Steam.
Tim Gaddis
All right, all right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is something that Roger put me on to when we were talking about it a little bit of like, oh damn. The, like their peak, their all time peak was two months ago and that was almost 2,000 players on Steam but.
Tim Gaddis
Majority of players on Xbox and PlayStation and they have ways to play it for quote unquote free in their subscription services, whereas Steam is not. So yeah, I wonder what those numbers are.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I don't think in the way, the way they're talking about it. Right. It sounds like even for the PS plus and Xbox Game Pass aspect of it, like I think there's the expectation that that's going to bring in a certain amount of players. But we want that to be a synergistic thing of the more people that we bring in through those methods, the more people are then going to buy the game at the same time because you're able to kind of like expand, expound out of that like popularity. Right. It's like the same way we talk about Rocket League launching on PS plus just gave it so much more fuel as far as people knowing about the game and the audience increasing and then those sales, those actually like those actual sales actually working out for it. I think the fact that Steam being the platform that you can't like doesn't have the game pass aspect to it or the PS plus aspect to it. Right. The place where you have to buy it being so low. I mean like for me that's like a you, if you want to bring this back, you gotta, I think you gotta make big sweeping changes. And then also like is this a thing that's worth putting your time into and that only they can answer that question. Like that answer is going to come a year from now, years from now when we see the updates of what this game looks like later on. My actual hot take is that this game came out. Actually let me double check because I believe it came out June 17th. Yes, that's what it says, June 17th. Thank you. You know, game came out June 16th on Steam. No Peak, my hot take. And I'm gonna start with the hot take and then get a little bit more realistic. Right?
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Peak had such a ginormous groundswell of that coming out. The devs being like hey, we're just putting this out as like a side thing for us. And then immediate, immediate virality. It was everywhere. It was on Tick Tock, it was on YouTube, it was on Twitch, it was being streamed and it like. I don't know. I can check the Steam DB numbers right now but I'm going to tell you they're probably at least five figures of the amount of people playing. Let's look up the peak numbers.
Tim Gaddis
But again a lot of different Factors there. Peak $5 exclusive, correct?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gaddis
And yeah, way cheaper.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And this is me talking specifically about the steam steamship. The 24 hour peak is 135,000 right now. Well actually we're at the peak right now. Oh no, this is from 15 hours right now. Sorry. Right now it's 102,057 players. Divide that by 20 and then you get the amount of times players more that you have there. But I think there's a. For multiplayer games for these live service things, I think a big factor really is just the amount of attention. Right. It is the like the amount of attention you can get from the Internet as a whole. Obviously we're talking about specifically Steam, there's other platforms, it's a different kind of game, all that. But I think at the end of the day both FBC and Peak are multiplayer games. That you want to play with friends and games that I think want that mind share. When you're talking about streaming, when you're talking about content creation, when you're talking about the ability to go viral and have those clips being shared and stuff, I think that's a core aspect of getting these games out there. And I think Peak kind of dominated that. That space. And then beyond peak, it's just June 2025 as a whole was fucking crazy. You're talking about Switch 2. You're talking about death stranding. You're talking about hella games coming out.
Tim Gaddis
There's also just a important thing that's just the quality of the game itself.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gaddis
Because I didn't play it. Not my thing at all. This office, I feel like, is a barometer of taste. It's definitely not the barometer, but the fact that Roger the Remedy guy seemed kind of on it, and that Mike and Rod, or Mike and Andy and Nick, the PvE jabroni boys, they're all kind of on it. It's like, all right, well then, if the. If this is in theory for those two groups of people as a Venn diagram, and it ends up not being for any of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Who's it for?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's a very good question.
Tim Gaddis
Very good question. I know it's for me. Story number three.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Resident Evil Requiem getting a new trailer at Gamescom. Jeff Keighley himself tweets out the nightmare isn't over. With a bloody teardrop or just a blood drop. It's just a blood drop. Witness an exclusive new look at Resident Evil Requiem only during Gamescom opening night Live. I don't believe it's only there. I believe it'll be everywhere.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What does that mean?
Tim Gaddis
They're going to post it on IGN. They're going to post it everywhere.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It'll be first at Gamescom, streaming live.
Tim Gaddis
Everywhere next Tuesday, August 19th. Sick.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, it's cool.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What do you want out of Resident Evil Requiem trailer?
Tim Gaddis
So what's funny about this? Obviously, I'm hyped as hell for this game. It being announced, exciting for me. I love Resident Evil. The trailer got me so excited about going back to Raccoon City. Love the idea. Seeing the dilapidated police station. Awesome. I heard the previews. I heard people got to play it at Summer Game Fest and some of the other events and everything I've heard about the gameplay I'm so excited about. I was really busy the last couple of months. I don't remember if a second trailer came out or a second if Any gameplay clips? I have not seen gameplay of this game. I've only seen that opening trailer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It was that Capcom showcase that happened after Summer Game Festival. And. Yeah, I'm with you. I remember them showing more pragmata and I feel like we got like a second more or no people.
Tim Gaddis
Sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
People went to SGF and they saw more.
Tim Gaddis
People played. Yes, people played this game. I didn't play the game. I. I wasn't there. I haven't seen it. So I just don't know. I've heard about the gameplay. I read previews about the gameplay. I haven't seen the gameplay. Okay, so I want to see it because I know that you can. The first and third person, I want to see that stuff. But more than that, our boy Leon's in this game. Like, he has to be. See, that's what I want to see.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You want to see Leon.
Tim Gaddis
I want to see Leon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fair enough.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm excited about this, but I'm not in the. I'm not in the Duffy of Resident Evil lore. I think I'm just here for the ride. Yeah. I just want to, like, go into a place and like, try to open a door and it's like, you need the screwdriver. And then I go to find the screwdriver and then something jump scares me and like, ah. And then I keep walking to find the screwdriver. And then like, I get into a fight with some zombies and I only have five bullets, but like the. The last bullet does the job and I get the head shop and then its head explodes into like a tentacle or some weird. I just want that.
Tim Gaddis
I'm gonna get that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm sure.
Tim Gaddis
I'm excited because. Yeah. Going back in the nostalgia, going back to Raccoon City, I'm super there for. Especially after the last couple games that I really, really enjoyed. Like, I really. I kind of love Village and I'm just happy to go back to some. A more traditional character potentially with Leon. I am pretty sure he's going to be in this game. But even getting this new protagonist that is based in the lore of the old, like, PS2 games that I rented from Blockbuster. I do not know these stories at all, but a haunted hotel? Hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Like, that's. We're. All we know about this game so far is they're in a scary hotel and Raccoon City. Yeah. And I'm like, well, cool. Like, there's probably not a better environment for a Resident Evil game that I want to play in 2026.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. What's one other place. You think we're gonna go outside the hotel because the hotel's with. It's a hotel within Raccoon City. Right. Is that we're doing?
Tim Gaddis
I don't think so.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, okay. So you think the. So we're gonna be in a hotel and then Raccoon City is going to be its own environment.
Tim Gaddis
There's some time stuff going on with this, the protagonist and her mom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gaddis
I don't know. It's been a while since I watched the trailer from Summer Game Fest, but I'm excited for Gamescom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fair enough. I was gonna ask one other environment you think we see? I hope a blockbuster. I want to explore a big old block.
Tim Gaddis
That could be cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just look at this, you know, big block. I'm trying to think of, like, where haven't we gone in Resident Evil?
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, they've went.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because. I was gonna say an abandoned ship, but I'm like, we know we did that. Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Revelations.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I want a blockbuster.
Tim Gaddis
Subway. Or it's not Subway. Submarine.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Somebody says Spencer Mansion, maybe. Ooh, a carnival.
Tim Gaddis
I mean, Spencer Mansion. I can't believe we haven't been back. But it got blown up, so you can't believe it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We haven't gone back.
Tim Gaddis
Having said that, we thought the Raccoon City got nuked. And then you see this trailer and it's just this like. Like 4 block radius and actual place we know from Raccoon City, like the police station and like the daycare and all that stuff. They're. They're on the outskirts.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
They all survived. Kinda.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I take it all back. I want to. I want to see a carnival. That's my. An amusement park car, Evil carnival.
Tim Gaddis
My favorite shooting games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Story number four. Former BioWare exec producer says EA was pitched multiple times to remaster the first three Dragon Age games. This comes from Jordan Midler at VGC. BioWare made several pitches to remaster the first three Dragon Age games, according to a former BioWare veteran speaking on the YouTube channel. Mr. Maddie plays Mark Dara, a former BioWare executive producer who joined the studio in 1997 and worked there for nearly 24 years, said the EA wasn't keen to remaster the first three games in the series in the same style as Mass Effect. Legendary Collection. They say that there was a number of reasons for this, including EA's apparent dislike of remaster projects. EA's historically been. And I don't really know why, but they've even said this publicly. They're kind of against remasters. It's strange for a publicly traded company to basically seem to be against free money, but they seem to be against it. That's just part of it. The other problem is that Dragon Age is just harder than Mass Effect to do, and to some degree, unknowably harder. Maybe only a little bit harder. Maybe a lot harder. They explained that one of the early suggestions his team made was, let's do Frostbite Tools and let's find a mod house that seems talented and just pay them to do a remake of Dragon Age Origins. There's a lot of pitches around. Is there a way we can bring Origins forward? And depending on what you do, like, with the remaster, you kind of get Dragon Age 2 for free. With a remake, you don't. They noted that one of the potential blockers in the project was the difficulty in remastering the games across several different engines.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My main takeaway from this story is about EA being against remasters, which I don't really buy, because the first thing I was gonna say is, like. Like, oh, man. Well, you should remaster Burnout. But they remastered Burnout Paradise.
Tim Gaddis
It feels like pretty often it feels like we get remasters of need for Speed games. We got. We're getting a remaster of Plant versus Zombies.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, but, like, those need for Speed games weren't remasters. Those were, like, remakes. When you think about, like, the Hopper Suit and Most Wanted and stuff, well.
Tim Gaddis
Those are, I'd say, even more reboots.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Reboots.
Tim Gaddis
But didn't they remaster a couple of.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Them for Needs for Need for Speed?
Tim Gaddis
I'm pretty sure. I mean, be wrong about that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know. I don't know if they did because, like, oh, yeah, Dead Space is a good one. But even that's more of a remake. I think he's talking about more of, like, the easy. Like, hey, man, we just. I don't know why I said hey, man, there, but, hey, let's just port this up. Because I would be down. There's, like, a list of EA games, right. Burnout 3. I would devour just a regular remaster port of that game, the need for Speed Undergrounds. You know, talking about need for Speeds, I feel like that would be sick.
Tim Gaddis
I mean, God, I can't believe we haven't gotten those yet. I don't know why. I mean, here's the thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because they hate remasters. Apparently.
Tim Gaddis
They have a point. They must hate remasters because how have we not gotten need for Speed Underground? Yep. And how have we not gotten NBA Street Volume 2.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm sure a lot of that. I mean, it must be licensing. It must be for NBA street, especially. Like that's probably like there's six songs. Well, I'm talking about the players.
Tim Gaddis
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. The NBA license is what I'm talking about there.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But then for. For need for Speed and Burnout and stuff. Yeah. Then I'm thinking about the songs, but I feel like just replace the soundtrack. I know that that's a big part of it, but like you can get back those songs and then for the ones who can't, just give me new songs. I don't know.
Tim Gaddis
Oh, that'll throw everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, don't look at the Tony.
Tim Gaddis
Hawk 3 and 4 subreddit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, are they really mad?
Tim Gaddis
Oh, they're so mad.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I feel like a good majority. Well, I feel like half the songs in there.
Tim Gaddis
One and two. There was like three or four songs missing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, three and four.
Tim Gaddis
There's like half the songs.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. But they put kick push in it. So.
Tim Gaddis
So we're good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Story number five, Ninja Gaiden four to last 15 to 20 hours plus challenge missions and optional purgatory battles. This comes from Alessio Palumbo at WCCF Tech. Following the release of fresh new gameplay footage, Team Ninja has now also shared an estimate of how long Gaiden 4 is going to be released when it releases. How long is going to be when it releases later this year. Speaking to Australian website Next Play, the game's director said that the first playthrough should take most players between 15 and 20 hours. But then there's the challenge missions to consider. Your first playthrough, you can expect about 15 to 20 hours. But like I mentioned before, after you beat the game, once you unlock Master Ninja difficulty. And then of course, outside of the story mode, there's also the challenge mission missions and also challenge chapter challenge as well. So there's going to be a robust amount of content for players to sink their teeth into after they complete the first playthrough.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah. 15 to 20 hours. That's good. In fact, I hope it's more. I hope it's more on the 15 side than the 20 hour side. I hope this is. I hope they're doing the dev thing of just overestimating it because I'll get me in and out in 12 hours.
Tim Gaddis
Give me 12.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Give me 12 hours.
Tim Gaddis
That sweet, sweet spot. I mean, I played this game for three and a half hours already. I gave my preview last week. I. I'm into it. I'M not. It's. I'm not good enough of these type of games to love it and be, like, infatuated, but had a great time. And. Yeah, this runtime, oh, my God. Gets me very, very excited. Are you. Where are you at with guiding for. At this point?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm hyped for it. Yeah. I'm like. I'm kind of glad I didn't play that much of the preview that way, like, when I get to the main course, I can just appreciate the full package, experiencing it for the first time. There's. And, yeah, like, I think for me, I'm not necessarily expecting to be blown away. Blown away. I hope I am, because I love Platinum, and I. I want a Ninja Gaiten to, like, be that one for me. But my history with Ninja Gaiden has. Has really been go in, have some fun, get like a third or halfway through and then be like, all right, cool. I'm done here. I had my fun with this. I hope this is the one that, like, I'm able to see all the way through and be like, yo, this Ninja Gaiten shit hits.
Tim Gaddis
I think it will be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Like, just knowing you and just, like, just where we're at with it being a new game, whereas the other ones are, like, remasters of very, very old games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
I just. I think. And also, it not being that long, like, I can't think of what's coming out around that. That would get in your way.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Because what was that? September?
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Or is that because if it's October. There's a lot of shit happening in October.
Tim Gaddis
But if it's September, think it's September.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got some traveling in September, but I'll find some time.
Tim Gaddis
Oh, no, no, no. It's October 21st.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah. No, it's gonna be tough.
Tim Gaddis
That's gonna be tough.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's gonna be tough.
Tim Gaddis
But we'll see the end of October, though, right? We got Ghost in early October. What. What's stressing you out about the later, later weeks?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, that's a good question. I'm Gonna open up gameinformer.com2025 and scroll down to September.
Tim Gaddis
I finally got my. My first issue. Not the first issue. I got the second issue. So my first one must be just lost, which is sad.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's unfortunate.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So October 2nd goes to the OTE. The third Borderlands 4, which I do plan on on playing the 10th Battlefield 6, which now I'm a fan of, apparently. Yeah. Little Nightmares 3, which I'm kind of like, you know, I'm. I'm waiting to see. I want to see more of that game, but I'm low key, kind of excited for Little Nightmares three Pokemon Zaw on the 16th. Oh yeah, yeah. Keeper on the 17th. You remember Keeper, the new Double Fine game where you're playing as the Lighthouse and it looks really cool.
Tim Gaddis
Oh yeah, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then you got gaiden on the 20th. Persona. Well, actually, no, I already played Reload. Okay. Well then you have Outer Worlds 2 on the 29th.
Tim Gaddis
So it's a big mean of the Hollow. Right. Is on Halloween.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Me, the Hollower is on Halloween. But I'm not real. That's not one that I'm like, I don't know if I'm gonna play that. Yeah. So it's a busy month, but I think I could find time there.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. Story number 6 Tekken Tag Tournament 3 Probably not in my working lifetime, says Harada. This comes from Chris Scullion at vgc. Tekken series producer Harada has said that a tekken Tag Tournament 3 will probably never happen for as long as he continues to work on the series. In an interview with Destructoid, he was asked if he would consider working on Tag Tournament 3 and potentially making it the next series entry after last year's Tekken 8. He replied via a translator that he had been thinking about tag mode recently and felt like it should be some kind of Mode within tech 9 or 8 or whatever you want to call it. When asked to clarify if this many had no plans for a full Tekken tag game, he said the length of time it would take to make a new entry in the series could result in the fighting game landscape landscape changing by the time it's released. He explained that while tag fighting games may be popular now, if we start to make tekken Tag Tournament 3 by the time they're no longer popular, that's when Tag 3 would have come out. Harada also explained that the complexity of Tekken makes it harder to release to quickly release a new spin off, saying, we have so many more moves than a typical 2D fighter. So much more work is involved in trying to do that with a 3D game. It's probably a ways off if it were to happen, so probably not in my working lifetime. So that's something that the next generation can decide.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got thoughts on this.
Tim Gaddis
Hit me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I disagree with what he's saying as far as the trends of fighting games now. Right now we're in the tag trend because I understand why he says that because you have two xko, you have Marvel Token Fighting Souls, you have Invincible Versus. Like, a lot of the upcoming finding games that are coming out are tag games. And we're. We're in the tag era right now. I don't think Tekken, I understand, has tag in the title and I understand it technically is a tag fighting game. I don't think Tekken aligns with the style of those games in a way that would like, make it like a. Oh, but this, you know, it might fall out of the trend. I think a Tekken tag tournament can come out whenever. And people, it's still more of a Tekken game than it is a tag fighter, right? Obviously it's both. But like a Tekken tag tournament I think is unlike what we're talking about with Invincible Versus in Marvel Token and all that. Right? And so that's why I disagree. I do understand though, what he's saying as far as the complexity and Tekken 8, I think even, you know, widening the scope of what that complexity looks like, designing these characters. Because I. I'm back in the Tekken Tekken mode. Tim. I've been playing Tekken this week. I did two streams this week already.
Tim Gaddis
Good for you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Getting back into Tekken ranked. And I was playing, right? I'm using my character Victor and I press the button to do like my crushing blow. And what that usually does with Victor is that that'll then send him into his Heat activation. You don't need to know what these words mean. Just know that they mean a lot to me, okay? And I did that on Sunday and the Heat activation didn't happen. And I was like, oh, that's peculiar. So I went into training mode and I tried to do it again and again and again. Turns out they removed. They removed that from Nerfed. And when I tell you I had a breakdown on stream over this, I was like, I can't believe what they did to my boy. They fucking. They ruined Victor, guys. I can't believe it. And then I kept playing and I accidentally pressed a different button combo, which then led to this move I've never seen before. And I was like, oh, what the fuck is that? And so I went to practice mode and I did it again. And do you know what it does? It goes into Heat Activation. And what I did, I was like, oh, you know what? This is actually a better way to do it. And these are very small. Like, they changed two moves and it rocked my world, Tim. That's how much they got going on with these characters. And that's why I understand totally what he's like. Yes. Like there is a complexity to these characters to where Tekken Tag Tournament typically adds in a lot more. The second Tag Tournament two had so many characters in it and I think Tekken has gotten unwieldy to a point as far as what these characters take in order to design one and balance them with the rest of the roster. And so I totally understand what he's saying there. I personally would still love a Tekken Tag Tournament. I think if you made it a thing that is. Hey, we are. The goal of this isn't to make it like a next gen. We're not trying to make this the next generation of Tekken. We're just trying to use the technology that we had for. For eight and give you something, you know, extra. Make it more about everybody being here and like, you know, more about that interactivity between characters as opposed to like, like it being as hardcore as Tekken8 is. I'll totally love that. But I understand that they don't want to do that. Sends me that Harada seems like it's not going to be in his the rest of his gaming career because I don't know. I love tournament, but I hope we still see it. I hope if he doesn't want to do it, somebody else at the studio does.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, I. I am definitely not at all the hardcore Tekken player like you are. I kind of have more with him where I'm just like, if you're gonna even do it, make it a mode. I don't think that focus on Tekken as a core product. Like I feel like just do Tekken 9, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Or just support Tekken 8. Like I don't think we need another skew of attacking game because like I don't think that the fighting game community can support this many different projects and I feel like like Tekken already just. It's a win. You know what I mean? Support the win.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Do you play a lot of tag tournament?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I played a lot of the first Tag Tournament. I played some of Tag Tournament 2.
Tim Gaddis
But was Tag Tournament 2. What was the PS2 launch game?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
PS2 launched. That was Techn1.
Tim Gaddis
Okay, cool. Yeah, yeah, I. I played a fair bit of that. One.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Two was on PS3 and had a song from Snoop Lion. Yeah, Snoop lion was in the game.
Tim Gaddis
What a moment.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, I think about it often.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah. Big moment in pop culture history.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
But if I want to know about some small moments, some small news stories.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Where would I look you'd go to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Our last news story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Tim Gaddis
That is true from Tom Phillips at ign Weapons director says his Resident Evil movie will tell a different story set outside of the characters of the games. He says his upcoming Resident Evil movie reboot will tell an original story set within the world of the games, albeit with new characters. So likely that means no Leon Wesker, Chris Redfield Punching rocks. Still, the project will be obedient to the lore of the games. Krager told Inverse Cool. Yeah, I'm down for something that that sounds at this point like what we should get from a Resident Evil because they've kind of done everything to the best of their abilities and that's not a compliment.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, this goes back to what I think we were talking about a little bit of the during our We Got to Talk About Street Fighter episode of Gamescast. Everybody should go watch and check out where. It is very exciting to see game adaptations tackle stories within a universe as opposed to just retelling the stories just because like it can be hit or miss sometimes. Right? It can be kind of difficult to capture like that moment to moment, like this is what the story is. Some people will love it, some people might hate it for that. Resident Evil has gotten so many adaptations that, yeah, explore, explore the universe a little bit.
Tim Gaddis
Mortal Kombat 1 has sold 6.2 million copies since its 2023 launch, according to Ed Boon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Nice.
Tim Gaddis
Hidden memories of the Gardens between now available for PSVR too. 2 Senua Saga Hellblade 2 is out today on PS5.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There you go.
Tim Gaddis
Hell Is Us demo now available on Xbox Series PS5 and PC. Dunkadillo was announced for Nintendo Switch Mobile and PC. You know what that is?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I have no idea what it is, but I like the name.
Tim Gaddis
I like the name. Yeah. Mandragora Whispers of the Witch Tree launches on September 4th. Let's switch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I put into assets the Snoop Dogg stage. So you can see Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg's in the background just hanging out, doing his thing. I missed this era.
Tim Gaddis
Good Lord, what a time. That's it for WE news.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Snoop Lion.
Tim Gaddis
Let's get through the super chats here. Yang Fam says get the fold. Tim. I've been rocking the fold since the three. Currently using a Fold six game changer. For real. That's awesome. I. I love that the attack's picking up and that people are actually liking it. Like I know that again, there's flaws to it all, but everyone I know with a fold phone, swears by it and, like, loves it for their use cases. So I think that's good news. I feel like this is not tech that's going to go away. I think we're committing to it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I saw a video on TikTok of a reviewer that reviews phones by, like, seeing how easy they break. He was reviewing the. I think it was the fold seven and I mean, don't do this at home, kids. He was trying to bend it backwards as hard as he could. And, like, he just could not get it to snap.
Tim Gaddis
Wow.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I was actually very impressed because people in his comments were also saying, like, this guy snapped an iPhone with ease. He could not snap this fucking Z fold.
Tim Gaddis
So, yeah, that's cool. Lucid Dream says they only swear by it because they spent $2,000. It's a defense mechanism. That could be true. Most of the people on timeout got it free for some extent and they get a lot of other things free too. So to them it's equal playing field of which phone do they actually have in their pockets? So, yeah, they have this one, Samson L Says. Oh. So they're looking at the in review list. This is him talking shit about superhero movie list. That's gonna suck.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's funny.
Tim Gaddis
But that's the beauty of the in review list. None of us stand by the list individually. But when you put a bunch of.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
People, even after the great re rank.
Tim Gaddis
No. Oh, we work with monsters. Bless. There's some people.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, who has the most egregious list?
Tim Gaddis
I don't. I don't want to answer it because opinions are our own. It's fucking Greg, dude. It's God damn Greg. I'm saying this right now just because I need to pimp out this episode as much as humanly possible for people. Because The Fantastic Four 2005 episode of Interview, one of the best in review episodes we've ever done for a multitude of reasons. Hilarity ensues left and right. Nick says some crazy. Greg says some crazy shit and he's creating bops. I'm there, okay? I don't get in the way. I promise. All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Then we get to the rankings. Do you know what Greg did?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. Her Fantastic Four. I mean, it can't be that egregious, right?
Tim Gaddis
Because like I said, put Fantastic Four 2005.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Above across the spider verse.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Tim Gaddis
And he stood by it when we called him out.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Huh.
Tim Gaddis
Check out the episode, everybody. Your face died a little bit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. That's shocking. That's like it's more disappointment than actual like shock coming from me.
Tim Gaddis
Kyla Buff says Nick should be on that games cast. Keep Nick away from me. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean what do you think he's up to?
Tim Gaddis
Get him on something wrong.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's get him on something bad. I feel like Nick would be fine.
Tim Gaddis
Although yeah, I got exciting news about Nick. Okay, I have exciting news for all of you. Tomorrow's stream we are making an executive decision.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yes.
Tim Gaddis
We will be doing a live watch along of Ice Cube's War of the Worlds. Everyone has said this is one of the worst movies ever made and so Nick and I and whoever else wants to join us tomorrow will be live reacting with y' all to War of the Worlds.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I love that so much.
Tim Gaddis
Gonna be awesome.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've been meaning to check out this movie. So this might actually be the way I do it.
Tim Gaddis
I mean if you're free, hang out. Gerardo Martinez says Happy Tuesday. Coming through with the birthday tax. Thanks for making my daily commute fun. Doing my annual B Day Extra Life Extra Life stream soon to celebrate the big beautiful kids. Hashtag what happened in Mexico. Happy birthday and good luck with the extra life theme stream. That is very, very cool. Roberto Garada says time to call Gary Weta in regards to Hell Divers. Gary's a Dune boy now. Gary. Gary's Nick's neighbor in Dune. They're getting along great.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How do we get Dune part of the Helldivers 2 Collaboration Squad? I feel like there could be something there.
Tim Gaddis
Gretchen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, a little bit. Like, I don't know.
Tim Gaddis
JV says ODST was the best campaign, but Reach was the best story. I kind of like that separating story and campaign. More gameplay styles and mission and stuff. And I think, I think I might be with you there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I respect that.
Tim Gaddis
That's a good call. Arjun says, I got the Z fold 7. It's much larger than the old one. I read my comics from Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite on it and it's a great tablet. Fully into the Samsung ecosystem. Sweet hoodie. Bless.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thank you.
Tim Gaddis
Street Shadow says marathons being published by PS Studios like we said. And then like Liam Neely says, just want to say what's up kf peeps. Can't believe I've been harassed by Greg for 21 months. G spot, Low T and B Hole live on WKFB in the mornings. Sweet Shadow says it's not exclusive to Xbox. The official PlayStation channel has the same trailer. I'm not sure why it wouldn't include it in the game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good call.
Tim Gaddis
Very cool. As Samson says, Peaks art style is more accessible to a wider audience, aka my wife. Plus it's clippable for stuff like TikTok. Pretty much giving them free marketing. Ty Wilkins says the Resident Evil trailer I want is the reveal of the second playable character, Leon, or not. Honestly, if they don't show the second playable character, that just confirms it's Leon to me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do we know it's there's a second playable character?
Tim Gaddis
There was just a lot of leaks from Dusk, Golem and some other people that like, are just right about Resident Evil stuff. I think they might have. They might have confirmed as a second character. I don't know, but we'll find out next week. Kebab says you're wrong. Still broken. Hot Pursuit 2012 was remastered for PS4, which later got a PS5 patch. Also bring back SSX Tricky and 3.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I see your wrongs in the Google sheet, so I don't know how people are bypassing the 404. Like, some people are getting it, some people aren't, I would imagine.
Tim Gaddis
Interesting. Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, because some have come in during the show.
Tim Gaddis
Do people know? When I say people, does Nick know about this issue?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Tim Gaddis
Okay, we'll get on it. Yeah, I know what, what's happening. I don't know how to fix it right now, but I do know what's happening. James says. Tim, check your emails from Game Informer. They lost a batch of first issues and after you fill out a form, you can get the first one. It happened to me. I need to do that because I hear them in the first issue.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's cool.
Tim Gaddis
It's a picture of me at the Tony Hawk event.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's pretty cool.
Tim Gaddis
All the boys that I've loved before. Newbie Prod says they need to add a Street Fighter season to Tekken 8 since they abandoned Tekken, Cross Street Fighter. Just add a bunch of Street Fighter cross Capcom characters and call it a day. Plus, I want you to know there was a time in my life when I was just sitting there looking at my CRT computer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gaddis
Screen watching E3, watching all the game news dropping. And they announced that Final Fantasy 13 and Final Fantasy vs 13 were both coming out on the same day. And it was like, what? Yeah, we're getting two Final Fantasy projects. What are you. What? What? It's taking place in the same world. This is insane. Then there was another time. They're like, yo, we're making Street Fight across Tekken.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're also making Tekken Cross Street Fighter. And it's like, oh, that's my white whale. That's. That's the one that got away. That's another games guys topic is the video game that got away. Yeah. Because like yeah, for me it's Tekken Cross Street Fighter. It's scale bound. I really wanted to play scale bound and that never came out. There was that Star Wars 1313 game, the one that got away. What if I told you there that there was Street Fighter. Sorry, Tekken Cross Street Fighter. News today just didn't make it to the Roper Report. But this is part of the whole same, I think Harada interview where Tekken boss Harada says he'd like to show people the 30 Complete Tekken Cross Street Fighter one day.
Tim Gaddis
That's kind of cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. 30% complete. Wow. Just leak it. Just leak it and let modders and people do their thing.
Tim Gaddis
Yeah, I'll play the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'll play the 30%. Six characters complete. I'll do it.
Tim Gaddis
Well, bless. This has been a fun kind of funny game, Staley.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It has.
Tim Gaddis
We're about to do cool stuff.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are we gonna do your wrong?
Tim Gaddis
All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah, I guess I got some parentheses one writes in to defend Mike and Roger. No, I'm not reading it.
Tim Gaddis
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Bander. So we already covered this in the super chats. Actually, no. Yeah, we already covered all these in the super chats because they're just talking about how the Halo 3 ODST collab was also in the PlayStation version of the trailer. So sick. We nailed it.
Tim Gaddis
Sick. We're about to do games cast that's also going to be a screencast. There's just going to be a shit list of us talking about the best superhero movies of all time. I'm sure we're all going to get really upset, but it's going to be a fun conversation. Until next time. I love you all. Goodbye.
