We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, February 18, 2025. I want your host, Blessing Adioye Jr. Joining me is the lock, the tastemaker, Roger McCorney.
Roger McCorney
It's good to see you. First try. First try, first take to be great. Plus, I had a transformative experience last night.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I know. Tell me about it. Of course, I'm a fo. I'm somebody that experiences FOMO pretty heavy. And y'all came to me yesterday. Well, Tim came to me and was like, yo, we're gonna go watch Captain America. Yeah, like the new one that's in theaters right now.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I looked at Tim and with. With Carl Jacobs, Right? And it was gonna be a very fun time.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I looked at y'all, I looked at Tim, and I was like, that sounds so fun. No, I'm not. You can't maybe watch that movie a second time. I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm sorry.
Roger McCorney
Leanne's. And I went, lanza hates that fucking movie. I hated that movie, too. But I was like, you know, it's 40x. It's Carl Jacobs. I can't not, you know, go see this movie again. And, man, 40x blew my back out. Holy. It was. It was rocking. There was one moment when Captain America, not a spoiler, but I guess get stabbed a little bit. Just a little bit. It has no bearing on the movie, you know? I mean, just a little bit of a stabbing. And the seat, like, stabbed me. Like. Like, it, like, did a thing. We're just pushed the back of my, like, shoulder blade, and all of us just looked at each other. Me and Andy were like, what the fuck is happening?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's.
Roger McCorney
Andy had soda spilled all over himself. And then he has to, like. Like, in between the Hulk fight, he had to, like, start, like, sucking off the soda in order to, like, get the. The soda down to a level where it's not going to spill on him again.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Sucking himself off.
Roger McCorney
Yeah, exactly. Always sucking off that soda. And then by the ending of it, I got launched, like, a foot in the air because I was just kind of, like, leaning back in my chair. And then the Hulk thing started, and then I was like, oh, shit, I'm in a bad situation, so I need to get up Fast, right? Like, I need to sit up. So I was like, let me do this really fast. And as I did it, the fucking Hulk thing started moving. And then I just launched myself a foot in the air. It was awesome.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McCorney
40X is incredible.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That was the other thing with it is it's a 40x. It was like, wow. I was like, I'm not going.
Roger McCorney
That's the best part. That's the only good part about it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't like 40x man.
Roger McCorney
What was the movie you watched?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What was the last Spider man into the spider verse? Was it your first time?
Roger McCorney
Yeah, that's a good movie.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It was my first time watching it. It was 40 in the 40x. Ruined the movie for me. You got to.
Roger McCorney
You got to go to only Bad MOV for this because it makes bad movies good.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Jungle. Here's the thing with 40x is like, Roger, did you ever get bullied in high school?
Roger McCorney
Is that a question?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Sorry, my bad. I should have assumed, like, 40x feels like it's bullying me, right? Like, I'm in that chair like you mentioned, right?
Roger McCorney
Just a little blown out, bro.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know, a little, like, stab in the back, you know, A little. I'm gonna take you, like, lift you in the air real quick. I'm gonna throw water at you. And I'm like, what the did I do to you? This chair is just fucking slapped me around. I mean, I, like, I just want to watch my movie. I just want to watch Spider Man. I want to, like, you know, get into the spider verse.
Roger McCorney
It's the funniest thing, because they have no options to turn off the chair, but the only thing they have is turn off water. Yeah, the water that spritzes at you, like, once during the movie. That's like. That's the only option you got, though. You're stuck.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm in that chair, like, getting all the symptoms of the swirly I'm feeling in that moment in that 40x here. The wetness of being turned around, everything. I'm like, this is the shame.
Roger McCorney
$30 on a ticket.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Exactly.
Joey Noel
But.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But yeah, you had a good time last night.
Roger McCorney
Captain America did a great time. It was a great time.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Did you like the movie better the second.
Roger McCorney
No, Fuck that movie. Halfway through the. Because, you know there's no rules in a 40x theater, right? So me and Andy just, out loud, halfway through the movie, just said, this movie sucks. Just out loud and just like, yeah, movie sucks.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Bad movie sucks.
Roger McCorney
But it's a good time. Good time with friends.
Blessing Adioye Jr.

We have six stories today, starting with our number one. Ladies and gentlemen and MB's out there, introducing to the stage the one and only Joey Noel. Because we're going to talk about Lost Records, Bloom and Rage. We're going to review Lost Records Blue and Rage, Tape one. All three of us sitting here have played it, have beaten, have beaten Tape.
Joey Noel
One, beaten Tape one, have beaten, have comprehended it on different levels maybe.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, you know, we had some conversations about things that happened that, you know, some people might have missed because they're prepping kind of Feud the last scenes of this game before we get into it. I do want to do a quick review roundup for you right now. On Metacritic it is sitting at a 76. On Open Critic it is sitting at a 75. Rachel Watts at Games Radar gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and says I'm blown away by Lost Records Bloom and Rage Tape one and if this continues into Tape two, don't Nod will have totally captured the core essence of its most iconic series, blossoming into something new and brilliant. Tom Phillips at Eurogamer gave it four out of five stars and says, what's here already, though, is an intriguing mix of familiar and new, not an offbeat road trip and not just another high school adventure. After such a lengthy wait, it's great to see such a confident return. And Graham Smith at Rock Paper Shotgun gave it an unscored review and said this look, I can talk all day about the parts of Lost Records that didn't work for me. If I hadn't been playing it for review, I probably would have stopped after a couple of hours and never gone back. As it is, I reached its climax and it finally introduced the drama and the stakes that were missing from the rest of the story. Lost Records is bland, derivative, lacks momentum, does not reward player agency, and it twice made me cringe so hard that I had to look away from the screen. I wish, I wish it was half as long as it is. I wish it had learned to let go of the ideas that had lost their power like Sarah does in Labyrinth. A lot of Labyrinth references in this review. I wish it had learned. You can tell. You can tell your coming of age story about a teenage girl with energy and originality like Labyrinth. I am, despite all of that, looking forward to finding out whether any of it pays off when the second and final part releases on April 15th.
Roger McCorney
I didn't realize that's what Labyrinth was about.
Joey Noel
I haven't seen Labyrinth in a long time and maybe I, maybe I need to rewatch it because that was not really checking with me.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
To be fair, I did hop in at the end of the review, so I'm sure there was a lot of other lab.
Roger McCorney
There's a Labyrinth setup.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There's a lot of setup for the Labyrinth references there. Roger.
Roger McCorney
Oh, hi.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I want to start with you. What did you think of Lost Bloom and Rage? Tape one? The first half.
Roger McCorney
Tape one, yeah. So this is different than the other Life is Strange games or the release strategy. Right. Some of them are just the entire game. Here it is. The other ones were, hey, this is five episodes broken up. This is just two tips. It is one half of the game and the other half of the game. So with just the first half of the game played, I would actually agree more with Graham here. I would say I would give this game a 7 out of 10. I don't think I'm as harsh, but I do agree with a lot of his points here. It takes very, a lot, a lot of time to get to the point and the drama of this game. It is at the core of it, a Slice of Life game until the very, very ending of it. And a lot of the drama that it sets up in the first half of this, usually in a normal Life Is Strange game would have been contained to just the first episode. Like, like. Like literally 1/5 of a life Is Strange episode equivalent is equivalent to an entire half of this game, if that makes sense. So, yeah, it takes a long time, but I will say I was. By the ending of it into these characters, I felt like them taking the time was very, very on purpose and it was deliberate. And it feels like Dontnod is trying to buck the trend of Life Is Strange on purpose to, I think, varying degrees of success. I don't think that this is just them taking their time, just to take their time. They're trying to be like, hey, we made Life is Strange. We created this formula. Now we're going to try to change it up a little bit. But either way, I enjoyed my time. Will it continue to, you know, feel by the ending of the next tape like, hey, this is worth my time? I mean, this feels like deja vu after I was talking about Life Is Strange. Double Exposure, right where we played the first two episodes. Like, this is pretty good. What's that gonna look like for the rest? But either way, I think this is a 7 out of 10 to set.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Up even more content context for people who might not be familiar with lost records or might not even be familiar with the Life of Strange series and how all that goes. Right. So this is the new game from developer Don't Nod. Don't Nod. They. They made a lot of games, including Vampire and. And. Right, but they were the creators of Life Is Strange specifically, they made Life Strange 1 and Life is Strange 2 before that got passed off to Deck 9. Who made Life of Strange? Well, they made Life is Strange before the Storm. Before the storm, yeah. And then also made Life Strange. True Colors. And then the most recent outing, Life of Strange, Double Exposure. And so this is Don't Nod kind of getting back to form. They've had games like this in the past. They made, I believe.
Roger McCorney
Tell me why.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Tell me. Yeah, tell me why. They also made Twin Mirror, which I've never heard. I never heard about anybody talk about Twin Mirror. So for context, that's where we're coming in with this one. Right. This one was shown off, I believe, in the last year in game showcases. We saw trailers and from the trailers it was, oh, okay. This seems like a return to form. They're trying to go back and after that Life Is Strange style formula again. You know, you got teenagers hanging out with some mysterious, you know, element being introduced.
Roger McCorney
Coming of age.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Coming of age.
Joey Noel
Color. Yeah.
Roger McCorney
Bisexual lighting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yes, exactly. So with all that said, Joey, what are your thoughts on tape 1?
Joey Noel
I'm pretty similar to Roger. I think it's like a fine game. It's the problem that we have with every one of these Don't Nod Life Is Strange games, which is. The setup is interesting. Can they land the plane? This one I don't. This one I have less confidence in, I think than Double Exposure just because of the way that this first chapter ends. As I was playing it over the last few days, I kept going back to the conversations that I have with people about M. Night Shyamalan, where M. Night Shyamalan movies used to be about the twist. And now it's kind of like here's this interesting scenario and how do people work through it? And I think that's very much where this game is compared to past Don't Nod games. I. I mean there is like a reveal, I guess. I don't know if I would like call it a twist. I like the setup that it's kind of Yellow Jackets is where you have older characters and then you see them flashback to their younger characters. That's the part that's set in 1995. I'm always going to be a sucker for like a 90s kind of like girl hang.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yep.
Joey Noel
Story. I think something that I. I didn't feel super attached to all of the characters. I think where Life Is Strange really dials it in is the one on one relationships. And I think you have a bigger friend group this time. And it's harder to have those connection to those characters when you're trying to make those connections with multiple characters, obviously. So I don't feel as connected to the characters when we have kind of more of those like heartstringy mom limits. Because I feel like I'm like, which one were you? And then like figuring out like, oh, well, this thing happened. But I really focused on my relationship with you and like that kind of stuff. So that's the part that I kind of was iffy on. The music I think is great. I did not like the double exposure, like mechanic of the Last Life Is Strange game. I think the camera stuff on this worked for me because I love collectibles and like the way that they have it listed of like you have all these tapes that you're making because you're doing this like amateur filmmaking thing. And so they have all of these, like, you're making a tape for each of your friends, and you're making a tape for different locations and characters and things in the forest and stuff. And so it tells you, like, how many more you have for each of those things. So put me in the forest with a camera and I'm gonna go find all those dumb birds and all that stuff. Like, I love that. And I think that, that I haven't looked at the trophy list, but I think that would make me go back and like, maybe clean it up a little bit because I could just through the dialogue and not really care about it. But there were some things that I felt like were harder for me to figure out the beginning of the game. But once I played more than, it wasn't a big deal.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Joey Noel
What did you think?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So I got a lot of thoughts. It's funny because right before this episode, I. I finished the. The tape one on Sunday. And after I finished, I was like, I got to write down notes. I never found the time to write down notes until five minutes before we sat down to record here. And as I started typing, it just came out like, so naturally of like, the amount of thoughts I have about this thing. I want to preface by addressing because I saw somebody, I saw some people in chat being like, where's gre Greg? Ass Game one. I'll say that. February, very busy month.
Joey Noel
So busy.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Aoud came out this month. Guess what? Monster Hunter is coming out this month. The dice happen. So Greg is a very busy man. And so, you know, he can't be in all places at all times. But I'll also tell you that all three of us here are very big Life is Strange people. And so you're the. We are part of the, the crew that you want to hear us hear talk about this game. I bring that into this to say that I think playing this game right after playing Double Exposure has been a very interesting framing of how I am feeling about it as I am playing through tape one. Because I almost feel like this is the anti Double exposure in the sense of I came into this game thinking it was going to be another Life Is Strange. Even though it's not Life Is Strange in title or ip, I thought it was just going to be another one of those, and I love those. Right. I think after we reviewed the first half of Life Strange Double Exposure, one of the things that I said was that playing Life Is Strange feels like drinking like a cup of like, hot cocoa. There's something that is comforting. There's something that is familiar. There is something that is, I think, nice and digestible about the way they approach writing, the way they approach, like, the character work. It is all very, I don't know, easygoing and gentle, and there's something about it that is just comforting. Lost Records doesn't feel that way. Lost Records for me, I came in day after day looking at Roger and being like, yo, Roger, when is anything going to happen in this game? Like, I was waiting for the MacGuffin. I was waiting for some big element to come through and really switch things up or move things forward. And I was very surprised by how much this game takes things slow. And it spends most of its first half just building up relationships between characters. And I was. That's not how Life Strange does things, right? Like, not at all. And I was very impressed by that. And that was. I'll say I was very impressed after finishing this episode. But I was also very frustrated while playing this game because it is me kind of being bored, kind of being like, all right, where's the thing? All right. Like, is anything going to happen? I'm here with a camera. And to what Joey was explaining the. I do like how the camcorder stuff is basically. Yeah. The game's collectible system. So, yeah, you were recording just random shit. You're in your bedroom just recording your cat.
Roger McCorney
It is. It is genuinely impressive, like, from a video editor perspective. And just that perspective. It was awesome. Like, that's perfect for me, where you are recording everything and then you can rewatch everything in the menu and it has a voiceover of your character explaining kind of the. Putting the framing of the documentary that they're making. And you can also edit the little video snippets that you have. So it is. It's not super deep, but it's, like, deep enough that gets me excited to record the birds and find them all. And. And do.
Joey Noel
I think if you're like a photo mode person, you're going to have a lot of fun with this. But if you just like collectibles, you could just record, like, for some of the things, like the same things ten times in a row and be done with it. So, like, it kind of plays to a lot of different play styles. There are some where you have to, like, they kind of gate you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Joey Noel
You only get a couple at a time. But I really liked it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And to. To loop this back to, like, and my Life is strange double exposure thing. Right? Like, double exposure. That first half of that game, in my opinion, started so strong and Then it lost me and I think all of us so hard in the second half. Where this first half of this game for me was the flip of the first, like 80% of tape one. I'm like, Ah, man, I would stop playing this if I wasn't so invested in this kind of game. If I wasn't so down for a don't nod narrative, you know, like coming of age story, I would have dropped this in hour two. But I saw it through and after finishing tape one, I'm kind of like, yo, I could see this picking up really well in the second half of this because they leave things in a really interesting place, right? Like, I think this is one of those ones that I could see Myself Finishing Tape 2, looking back and being like, oh, the build was worth it.
Roger McCorney
But here's the thing. Like, I finish this, I. I say positive things about this. I do think it is a, a solid piece of a solid first entry or first half of this game. But I kind of had the moment where a few days later I looked at Lienz and I said, this is crazy. But let's say God forbid don't nod is like, hey, there's a concord situation. We're refunding all the money. We're not going to Release a tape 2. I would be like, cool. Like, I'm not, I'm not really that.
Joey Noel
I'm like, you're not dying.
Roger McCorney
I'm not dying. And that's the crazy thing about this, is that like, life is strange at the ending of pretty much every episode. That's how, that's how good that game was or all those games are, is that you're like, fuck, I can't wait. Oh, my gosh, that was fun. That's a crazy twist. Twist. That's a crazy cliffhanger. At the ending of the halfway point of this game. There is nothing that. Right. It is, it is very much focused on. Again, everybody, like, if you're going into this expecting life is strange because of don't nod, which I understand the marketing kind of leads to that. It is that, but it's not that. Remember that this is going to be something that is more character based. It is a slice of life thing. It is more akin to, I think the, the Greg Miller games of the world, right? Where you're just walking around, you're talking to people and of course there is a supernatural twist to it of it. All right. That you will see at the ending of this tape. But you know, it is just kind of walking around getting to know these characters. So, yeah, I went back to the first episode of Life Is Strange one, and I couldn't believe how fast that game picks up. Right. Like, you're immediately making choices. Like, this entire first episode, I don't think I made maybe one choice that I felt like, oh, that's a big choice. Maybe, like, I can't even see. There's not even enough choices that I think that are like. Are like, oh, shit, this is changing the way that I'm gonna play the game in the future.
Joey Noel
Almost like the slow mo with the music hit, like, oh, all of us.
Roger McCorney
Didn'T have the conversations. Like, oh, my gosh. You chose this? Because I can't think of one right now. Off the top of my head.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's my biggest critique with this, probably. Right. Like, on Score, I was going back and forth in my head between a 7 and maybe a 6.5, and I think I. I land on the 6.5. Because what I. What I want the most out of these games are choices that feel dynamic, choices that feel like they change things, choices that feel like they really matter as far as how you take in the story and what your perspective is on what this character would do or what, you know, what is the right thing to do in the story. And yeah, there weren't really any big. I don't feel like there's a butterfly effect in this game. No, it feels like you really are just coloring in what is happening, which is a valid way to approach it. But I think you're.
Joey Noel
I mean, you're strengthening your relationships, and I think that maybe in the second half that'll play into more. I'm hoping. Fingers crossed. Because if it doesn't, then I feel like that is going to be, like, majorly disappointing to have your choices truly not really mean anything.
Roger McCorney
But the cool thing about this is that I felt like there was a lot of really interesting ways that they played with time and the dynamics of looking back on certain events. Right. Again, like, the whole game is focused on your main character, Swan, and you're talking to one of your old friends who you meet up 25 years later.
Joey Noel
20, 30 years later, 1995 to current. So I think it's even.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
30 years. Yeah, 30 years.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. So 30 years later, you get a mysterious package, and you guys have to kind of reminisce about the past, about a summer that you guys all shared, in order to kind of figure out what this package might be about. Right? So it is in the past. When you're playing in the past, you're Picking up items. And then the current version of you or your current version of your friend are talking about that and like. Like going back and thinking about, oh, my God, I can't believe I did that thing. Like, that was interesting to me. That was really interesting to me. And it was. It gets more interesting, you know, when potentially more people are involved later on in the game. Right. But in the beginning of it, it. That is interesting to me. And I think that's. That's the little things that add up to me that I'm like, okay, this is not a 6.5. This is 7. Like, this is. This is interesting. And don't. Not. Is trying to do something here. But I also don't want to give it so much credit where it's like, oh, it's doing all these interesting things, but just because you're doing something different doesn't mean it's better. Right. Like, I would take a life of strange true colors any day over this. Like, that's just. That's just the way.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Here's the thing. I'll take so far with where we're at with this. I'll take this over a double exposure. I mean. Yeah.
Roger McCorney
Duh.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's kind of where.
Joey Noel
Even though the story and the, like, interesting points that aren't as high, I think it's a better.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. So far. It feels like a more. Yeah. Better overall experience than a double exposure. And I think part of that even comes with. I'm. It's a weird reminder. Slash. I don't know. Maybe they're stepping up here. I was surprised by how many environments we go to. Yeah. After playing double exposure, where in double exposure, you're in a bar, you're in a campus. I forget if you're anywhere else.
Joey Noel
You're in the quad.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, yeah. You're in an apartment. Yeah.
Joey Noel
Like the Fine Arts Building. The.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, the Fine Arts Building. The fab. But here I am looking around. I'm like. Like, I feel. I can feel the budget here. Right.
Joey Noel
Like, the areas are way bigger.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The areas are bigger. You're seeing more of them. I think there's a presentation here that works. There is. I do wish that there was a, like, performance mode because, like, I don't. I don't love the, like, the frame rate of it. I wish it was.
Roger McCorney
There's some don't not jank in here, which I think there's some donuts to be expected. Right. I mean, it's. I. I think they updated it because in the beginning when I was playing it, I was Having an issue where every single time the camera would cut, there would just be a stutter. And I thought that was so frustrating. I think they've updated that so I don't think the 1.0 people will have that. But there is the lip syncing. Lip syncing is rough, right? Like, lip syncing is rough. I think some of the writing is rough, especially from going from double exposure to this. Like, it's not as human and natural. Like, I look back at double exposure, I'm like, man, for all the faults that game has, like, I fucking love talking to people. Like, I thought it was so natural. I've talked to so many real people that talk. Like, people in Life is strange for better and for worse. But this one, it is, it's just a little stiffer. And I understand because it's a bunch of 16 year olds, right? Like, they're awkward, they're, they're weird, but it is just. Even the adult versions of them are just a little.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, it reminds me of Life Is Strange one and the complaints people had with the riding in Life Is Strange one as well, where it is.
Roger McCorney
Which was also a huge positive for a lot of people. So, like, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, you can tell that these are like grown men riding girls riding teenagers.
Joey Noel
I don't feel like that at all.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, really?
Joey Noel
No, I felt like. I don't think that they like 100 nailed it necessarily. But like the relationships and the way that they set things up to me is like, who in their junior high to high school years hasn't had some like, yeah, I don't want to say toxic relationships, but like, overly familiar, way too fast friendships that mean everything like that to me felt very on board.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So I feel that. Yeah, but yeah, like, there is something about the dialogue that isn't as sticky to me as any of the Life of Stranges. At least the recent Life of Stranges, including Double exposure, where I'm with you, Roger, of like, moment to moment in dialogue, I am. Even though the story kind of goes off the rails in double exposure, I am like engaged with what the conversations people are having with each other. Whereas here there will be like overlapping dialogue sometimes, right? There'll be like sometimes where, you know, Autumn will be saying something and I'm kind of like, all right, cool, like, take your call, I guess. I don't know. I don't really care about what's going on in some of these scenarios. But again, to, to Donut's credit of, I think trying to push things forward in Ways and I think doing some things that work there's. In a few times this game, actually a lot of times this game, there's like a first person perspective that you're in and what that allows you to do is in conversations you'll be talking to somebody and then like you can like look at something and make an observation about a specific thing and that'll open up dialogue options. Like, I like what they're. I like a lot of what they're doing in that regard of trying to find ways to shake up the moment to moment dialogue that's happening between characters.
Roger McCorney
But then I, I will say, like, even when they are trying to push things forward, like, it's just, it's just not fully there. Like for instance, the way they do dialogue in this game, right. Where it's not like life is strange. Life is strange stuff is somewhat, but not as egregious as this, where some. A character's talking to you. Right. We're talking and then in the middle of our conversation a dialog box pops up. And then you can just interrupt somebody, but then it doesn't always interrupt them. Right. It's just, it's a weird, it's weird. Like life is strange. Like pretty much for the most part, a dialog box would, it would open up and then you would press the button and it would let them finish and then you talk. Right. Like, or sometimes you would interrupt. But it wasn't. Like every time, like every conversation I'm having with somebody, it would just pop up the dialog box. And then sometimes I would press it early and then it would interrupt them and sometimes I press it early and then it wouldn't interrupt them. It's, it's, it's just not fully there. And talking about the first person really quick like it's. This is gonna sound like a nitpick, and it is, but it's also a real thing. You're just a little too close to the characters. Like, oh, I agree.
Joey Noel
All the time.
Roger McCorney
The FOV is so close to these characters to the point where like it literally just one person's head is taking up your entire screen. And then you have to look around. You're like looking around. You're like, oh, okay, okay. Now that's where it is.
Joey Noel
Oh, like in the bar.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, in the bar.
Roger McCorney
In the first person viewpoint. Yeah. There's one point when two characters were talking to me in the first person. Yeah. And I'm going between them and then they do the thing where they try to do the 3D audio where, like, someone's off screen and it sounds muffled and I'm like, right next to me. Like, I don't know what's happening, but, yeah, it's just. Everything's just a little off. But also, that's the don't not charm. So, like, I'm not mad at it. Like, that just is what it is. Right. So I don't know.
Joey Noel
Someone in the chat asked. Sorry, I don't remember who it was.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This is.
Joey Noel
I think it was, like, about five hours, seven and a half hours. So it is like a. It's a. It's a couple movies. And I believe the whole first drop.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Of Love is Blind Tape one and Tape two. Those come together, like, I assume you're buying that as one package.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And so, like, overall, I would expect 10 hours of gameplay out of this thing, which is pretty good, I would say.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. I just. I'm very annoyed by this release structure. I don't think it helps anybody. I don't think it helps us. I don't think it helps them. I don't think, like. I don't think anyone's finishing this and be like, fuck, I can't wait. Oh, my God. Like, it's not going to create hype. Like, I wish that they just waited till April and just been like, here it is. Here's the entire thing. Yeah, but because I think that you.
Joey Noel
Leave people mostly unsatisfied rather than excited about, like, figuring out the rest of the mystery. Because you're like, I actually end up with, like, way more questions and, like, not in a fun way by the ending of this than, like, excitement necessarily. I'm just like. I just would like to go through it maybe. Maybe we leave that in the past. Maybe as we evolve, did for a while. But I don't. I mean, I've never worked in game development. I don't really know how all that works.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do we have any final thoughts on Lost Records? Blue Enraged Tape one before we move on.
Roger McCorney
Wait till the next. Wait, wait. Wait till April. Play it all together. Like, I would not suggest anybody go out there and be like, oh, shit, I got to play this first. Because you're gonna forget things that happen. Like, I feel like this is such, like, a. You're in. You're in it with these group, the group of people. You're talking to them. You're enjoying their presence. Like, I wish that I was able to play this game right before the second tape came out. So then I can really live in this world and feel like the second chapter was more connected.
Joey Noel
Yeah. I'm kind of with Roger, for people that are, like, worried about spoilers, which I imagine if you are, you're probably not listening to this at this point anymore. But there's really only, like, one thing you can spoil. And even that, I don't really know if that affects any of the rest of what you played, truly. So I think that you can probably avoid spoilers and just play back to back.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Hell yeah. So, Roger, you gave it a seven. Joy, what'd you give it?
Joey Noel
Probably closer to a six.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It was a six. I'm a 6.5.
Roger McCorney
Wow.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Averaging 6.5.
Joey Noel
I love it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There you go. A 6.5, though, with my. My blessing. Projections. Oh, tape two, I think. I think it's going to land higher than 6.5. No, I'll say 7.2. I'll say 7.5.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think I could see tape two coming in at 7.5.
Joey Noel
Here's the thing. Monocle in the chat says it's on PS plus.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It is on PS plus.
Joey Noel
So, like, at that point.
Roger McCorney
He'Ll be up.
Joey Noel
Oh, just download it or at least add it to your account.
Roger McCorney
Figure it out. Yeah. All right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.

And we're back with story number two, Shuhei Yoshida says he had to take PlayStation's indie role or leave. This is Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida claims he was made to lead PlayStation's new indie initiative because he would have to do. Because he. Because he would have. He would have had to leave the company. If you. I don't know what happened to my brain. Something happened where I just could not read the words. The popular executive quit Sony last month after 31 years at the company where he helped launch the original PlayStation and served as his president of Sia Worldwide Studios between 2008 and 2019. In 2019, it was announced that Yoshida had stepped down to work on a new initiative focusing on building relationships with indie developers, with Herman Hulst replacing him as president. In a new interview, Yoshida says he essentially had no choice but to take the new indies role because the alternative would have been leaving PlayStation altogether. Yoshida explained that while he enjoyed his time working with indie developers and will continue to do so now that he's actually left Sony, it was a role that was essentially forced on him, but one he took regardless because of his love for indie games. Quote moving from first party to indies. Well, I had no choice, Yoshida explained to VentureBeat. Quote, When Jim asked me to do the indie job, the choice was to do that or leave the company. But I felt very strongly about the state of PlayStation and indies. I really wanted to do this. I believed I could do something unique for that purpose. That was the bigger chance for me personally. Yeah, that was the bigger chance for you personally. Moving from a first party to indies, then leaving the company this year. I'm very lucky that the indie community, the publishers and developers I work closely with, they believed that they could use my help. I became an advisor for some of these companies. I'm continuing to work with some of the indie publishers and developers. I respect the transition out of Sony to becoming an independent advisor is less of a change than moving out of first party and wild stuff here.
Roger McCorney
Wild stuff. I mean I think we've all kind of speculated this to a certain degree. Yeah, just like, yeah, it just felt a little weird him going to indies but shout out to the guy. Shuhei is right like of just like he is put in this role. Like even if he, that wasn't his first choice, that's not what he necessarily have wanted to. To do initially. Uh, he ran with that man and like the fact that he's doing that now after retiring from PlayStation and going and Doing his own thing. And, like, he's continued to be that indie guy. Right. People now look at him as somebody that was able to foster a lot of amazing indies and put them on the platform, give them a voice and retweet them all. Like, what a good guy. And the fact that, you know, he's saying all this is like, that sucks, and that's awful. But also maybe kind of a blessing in disguise a little bit. Like, I don't know, like, if he stayed at first party, like, would he have the opportunities now to then go off and have those amazing indie connections? Right. And then do that on his own?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Of course.
Roger McCorney
He's Shuhei Oshida. He knows everybody. But he has that experience now. So, yeah, it sucks, but it's also a blessing in disguise, in my opinion.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Yeah. I think you put it well as far as, like, him embracing the role. And, like, you know, because of. Because of Shuhei, I feel like I've been exposed to indie projects that maybe I wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise. Right. Like, he'll. He embraced it to the point of, you know, tweeting out games on his personal account, talking about the stuff, evangelizing the stuff. It wasn't just him leading the team. It was him, like, putting effort into that. And so it does. This is. And to your point as well, this does kind of just confirm speculation that was already out there. Right. Like, I think in the back of our minds, I was always the thing of, okay, he's going from this leadership role to then, yeah, going from worldwide PlayStation worldwide studios to like, leading up the indie initiative. That feels like something happened there where either he. The. They didn't give him the ability. Ability to move up, or this was like a slow, like, all right, cool, we're going to put you here because we have other people that we want to occupy that role that you're already in. But we're going to continue to. We're going to still, you know, pay you to, like, you know, do a role that we know you're going to like because you're Shu.
Roger McCorney
Hey.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And this is something that fits within your passions. Yeah. But it's also the tough thing about this is I think my natural reaction to this headline is to be like, yeah, what the fuck, Jim Ryan? Yo, what the fuck, PlayStation?
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I think I still retain that a little bit of like, yo, what the fuck? Like, you know, are you. Are you screwing over Shuhei?
Roger McCorney
Yeah, he's my guy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's my guy. Like, you know, I'll Throw hands over Shu. Hey, but it's also that tough thing of not knowing the behind the scenes enough at PlayStation to know, like, okay, but why, like, why didn't you. Didn't you see Shuhei?
Roger McCorney
Or was it continuing on with that role? Was it actually like a demotion? Or was it like, hey, we have this new initiative we want ahead that people know. Right. You're the guy. Like, you're doing a lot of good stuff, but also you're perfect for this. Put you here. Yeah, you can make this something bigger than it is right now.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, I think that second part is true. But also say, that is for sure demotion.
Roger McCorney
Sure.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You don't go from president of Worldwide studios to them being like, okay, you're the president of the indie initiative.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
For me, if I'm sure, I'm like, damn, yeah, like, I'll do it. Like, you know, I love this company. I love the games. Like, I'll do it, but like, God damn, you know, No, I totally. I've never heard you, hey, say goddamn, but you know what I mean?
Roger McCorney
I totally get that. But I also think that, like, again, he has done such a great job with the initiative. He has really made this. He feels like, oh, no, I'm a leader in this field. He never treated it, at least outwardly, like this was a demotion. Like, this was lesser than. Right. Like, he always looked around and said, I'm going to bolster everyone around me and make sure that these amazing indie games are seen and heard and gave people voices. So, yeah, I totally get what you're saying, but it definitely is a demotion on paper. But also, he didn't treat it like a demotion. So I think that's a sign of a good leader right there.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I do want to shout out a chat from Zillin who said, he literally said the status with indies started to improve after he worked on that initiative. The switch was outselling them with the same indie games by a lot. And now it's more even. I. I would say I agree with that assessment of once PlayStation started going harder with PlayStation indies, right? Like, they made that part of a branding that was around like 2020 with the PS5 coming in and all that stuff, right? Like they made PlayStation indies a thing and I think that was really good for them. You know, that started. I Associate chicory with PlayStation, right? Like I associate. They did. Well, I was gonna say Little Devil Inside. That game still laid out. But there's a number of indie games that because of that. Right. Things like Rollerdrome. I know, yeah, Bucksnatch, that was a child.
Roger McCorney
But also at the PlayStation 5 launch.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Event, which I think that's a good, very good example. I was gonna say even King of Bridge of Spirits, which I know was like more like they were more partnered with PlayStation, I think, in a, in a more deeper way. But things like that I think are big wins on that side that don't only bolster the indie titles, but also bolster the PlayStation library in a way that is meaningful. And so I think he did a great job with that and I hope to see that flag continue to be carried and somebody in chat says Sifu, which is a really great shout out for that as well. Story number three GTA 6 Rockstar is reportedly planning Roblox Slash Fortnite style user generated content this is Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. Rockstar's reportedly met with the top Roblox and Fortnite creators about the potential to build custom game experiences inside GTA 6. That's according to a new report from Digiday, which cites three industry insiders with knowledge of the meetings. It is claimed that Rockstar is planning to allow creators to modify GTA 6's game environment and assets to bring their own intellectual property into a sandbox. Creators in the in other user generated game platforms such as Fortnite and Roblox can generate revenue by receiving a portion of their virtual item sales. Notably, in 2023, Rockstar acquired CFX.re, the group behind some of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2's most popular modding tools. GTA 5 role playing exploded in popularity in recent years. The mod, which sees players using the framework of GTA to create brand new game modes, is monetized by charging users subscription fees to participate. According to Digiday, Rockstar's recent conversations with content creators have remained relatively open ended quote. It is unclear exactly how creators would benefit from bringing their IP and audiences to GTA 6 beyond the exposure that would come from having a presence inside one of the world's most popular gaming properties. It says. Roger hi. What does this do for you?
Roger McCorney
I mean it makes that was such an aha moment when I saw this, right? Like I was like oh duh. Right. Like of course they're going to do this. Of course they're going to focus in on trying to get some of that Roblox Fortnite's custom crate. I mean they always. They already kind of have that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, they've been to.
Roger McCorney
I mean to a certain extent, right? It's. It's limited in the sense that you can build maps and stuff, but it's not as fleshed out as like a Fortnite or like a Roblox, but being able to give people just like, hey, here it is. And also potentially leave room for collaborations and you know, skins and do you see what Kevin's playing right now?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It is the GTA 6 trailer recreated in Minecraft.
Roger McCorney
Beautiful.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
How is that not perfect for this? Don't fucking judge me. It's hilarious. That's fantastic. It just didn't hit me until half. I was like, what is this?
Roger McCorney
That's beautiful. That's beautiful.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's so good.
Roger McCorney
Yeah, but I. It makes, it makes so much sense and especially them buying out the, the modders, cfx.re. that makes total sense. So yeah, like this is going to just make them trillions and trillions of dollars and just be the most successful thing in the world if it works. But it will.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, I think I. They've tapped into this for a very, very, very long time. Right. Like I remember back like during GTA San Andreas watching YouTube videos of user generated stuff and that was modded. Right. Like, I don't know. I don't think Rockstar gave the tools directly to players, but like I did. I remember watching just so many fan created things and then that translated into GTA 4, that really translated into GTA 5 because they did give players the tools. They gave like recording tools that. I never understood how those worked, but they were there. Like if you hit like the, you know, the button like I think it was, it was one of the D pad buttons to bring up switching your character. There was like an option there of start recording. That's always been there.
Roger McCorney
Oh yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And I'd never.
Roger McCorney
Well, that's the. I think that's the Rockstar has their own like built in like recording feature. Yeah. So you can like do like sick tricks and then go to different like camera angles and stuff.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like and that is 1000% based off the fact that people were already doing that. People had been doing that for years and years and years in the GTA franchise. They give, they gave people the tools to make their own levels, make their own challenges. One of the. Man. I remember in the first couple years of GTA when people, when they finally released that stuff to players, there was a game, it was like Snipers versus Cars.
Roger McCorney
Oh yeah, yeah. There's a variation of this that's been around for Halo for a while. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh yeah. Where you would stand on a large platform, then people would like drive off ramps to try and hit your character and like you would have a sniper if you're on those ramps. So if you like took out the cars, like, you know, it's a last man standing type situation. People go, create like the amount of TikToks I saw in 2022 of like could you like, you know, drive to the bottom of the ramp without exploding your car type shit. Right? Like that stuff go. They people have gone crazy. User generated content.
Roger McCorney
Absolutely. And I can't even imagine how much deeper this is going to be.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Right?
Roger McCorney
Because like imagine like I don't know if how much you've actually looked into like Fortnite custom games. That's just crazy. Like I, I just, when I'm bored sometimes I just go through Fortnite and I'm like, okay, oh, someone made a saw game mode. What the is that? And I boot into it and it's like 10000 people playing it and it's like an actual saw trap and game that has like the saw guy running around and making crazy sounds. I'm like, this is so like in depth. It's not good, but it's, it's very in depth that it has a lot of work into it. Imagine that with GTA 6 graphics and like a potential, like here's a whole mod kit that you can do all this stuff and potentially maybe make money off of it. Like, maybe there's the part that I'm very fascinated going on here. Maybe there's like a Roblox thing. So that, that is interesting to me and I'm interested in that and I'm also interested in the potential ideas for collaboration. Like does this lead to like skins and like all this crazy stuff?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Got to.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think this will be a huge moment for GTA Online as far as how much they evolve it with current times. Because we got to keep reminding ourselves that GTA 5 Online came out in 2013 and so to this day it still has 2013 limitations. That's a PS3, Xbox 360 game. It still has those limitations. That was before Fortnite. That was before Destiny. That was before, you know, pubg. That was before so many of these games came through and changed the game. As far as what you can do with live service, GTA 5 in my opinion was so ahead of its time as far as what it was already doing in 20, in 2013 with live service stuff. When this comes out. Yeah, like I'm, I'm very fascinated on if they nail the monetization aspect of it. That's the one question mark I have as far as can you do that and do it competently and happy will be happy with it. Outside of that, oh dude, we're going to be playing some crazy games within GTA 6. Like you talk about the user generated content in Fortnite, which I think I might be on a more biased level because like I've tried some of that stuff and none of it's actually worked for me. None of it's like felt works for kids though.
Roger McCorney
Like there's 20,000 people like these kids just randomly playing these, these game modes in gta. I mean it's true.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Give those kids gun.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. I mean that's what is happening, right? It's crazy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's going to be crazy. Story number four Nintendo is discontinuing gold points on the Switch eShop ahead of the Switch 2 release this is Ed Nightingale at Eurogamer. Nintendo has announced it'll discontinue its gold point scheme across the Switch, Eshop and official Nintendo website from March 25, 2025. Players will no longer be able to earn gold points from purchases. Points earned before this date will still be usable. Gold points are currently earned through purchases on the Eshop or official Nintendo website, essentially like a loyalty scheme and can be redeemed for a discount. Reorders for digital games made up, made up to and including March 24, 2025 will still earn gold points regardless of the game's release date. Points will not be granted if the pre order is canceled or if payment fails. Pre orders after this date will not earn points. Gold points are valid for 12 months from the date of being earned, expiring at the end of a calendar month. I want to give context of this is Eurogamer so I believe that's accurate to Europe. I think, check me if I'm wrong on this. I think US has like a different expiration time. I think it might be two years for us. That means gold points earned up to and including March 24th can be used to receive a discount on the Eshop for another year. It's unclear why Nintendo is ending this scheme with the announcement. Simply saying, quote, we sincerely thank you for using the My Nintendo rewards program and apologize for any inconvenience.
Roger McCorney
And quote, how do we bring this back to the Switch? To like, how do we connect the dots? Is this a connection? Is there anything there?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No, I think it's Nintendo being like, all right, we gave you free money, we're tired of giving you free money. We're about to launch a new system and also the economy is fucked. So we're going to stop giving you free money, which sucks because I really liked this.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. Did you use it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh yeah. Did you not?
Roger McCorney
No.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Roger.
Roger McCorney
I don't be playing any games, dude.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Here's the thing.
Roger McCorney
Tell me.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It worked for redeem codes and so like when you. When. When. Yeah, so when we get Switch code.
Roger McCorney
The fuck did no one tell me this? How is this not like in the general games? Oh shit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. So like when you get the Switch codes, you redeem it. Guess what? It adds toward the Nintendo gold thing, which surprises me. That seemed like an oversight.
Roger McCorney
I might have shit then, right? It just like. I mean adds to it, right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McCorney
Oh shit. Yeah. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
If you. If you're for digital stuff, it automatically gets added. So what happens is if you go.
Roger McCorney
Only first party games or everything?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No, everything. So you go to the Eshop and when you're checking out for a game, go to your gold points because it's like. It's a surprising conversion rate of how. How much gold translates into dollars.
Roger McCorney
I might be able to get me a game.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
How long did. Lasted a year. But like. Yeah, it lasts a while.
Roger McCorney
Oh, okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But yeah, I think like a year or two.
Roger McCorney
I'll look into it. Okay. Wow.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I feel. And this goes for. If you. If you are on Switch and you buy a lot of indie games or you buy games in general, check to see if you have gold because you might. What?
Roger McCorney
Roger, it's like. What was the ads where it was just like. Like it's. It's my money and I need it now.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Here's the thing. If you're Nintendo gold and you need it now, check the eShop. You might be able to get. Get yourself some free games. All right. It's your money. It's your Nintendo gold and you need it now.
Roger McCorney
Don't let Miyamoto take this gold away from you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yep.
Roger McCorney
You can do whatever you can. You can't do that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
1,000%.
Roger McCorney
I only have 300 gold points. That's not much, is it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You might want to check.
Roger McCorney
I have three.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Might be $3. It's either $3 or $30. I'm not sure. Oh, it's one of those. It's probably $3. Ah, that's something.
Roger McCorney
That's something. That's something.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And JG Wentworthy 877 cash.
Roger McCorney
Now that's $3. All right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's like a jingle. That's a jingle that'll forever stay in my head.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. And then what was it? The. The.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Get connected for free.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Come on.
Roger McCorney
Education connection.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Story number five. Skater Tyson Jones claims to be in an upcoming Tony Hawk game remaster. This is Sal Romano at Gamatsu. Professional skateboarder Tyson Jones is in an upcoming Tony Hawk video game remaster. He told Power 105.1 FMs the Breakfast Club in an interview today. That's crazy. Charlemagne.
Roger McCorney
Breaking the news.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Is he still on that?
Roger McCorney
Yeah, he's still on that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Of course he is.
Roger McCorney
He sucks.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
When discussing new skateboarding video games, Jones said, quote, I'm in a Tony Hawk coming out, so that's cool. They got a new one they're remastering. So that's about.
Roger McCorney
Also, here's my Social Security number. Here's everything I'm not supposed to tell you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So that's coming out. I was also in the last one. Tony hawk's Pro Skater 1/2, and they're.
Roger McCorney
Doing three +4, so it's coming out this month.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's crazy, because, like, you. That's so specific that you can't mix that up.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
If he was like, yeah, he had.
Roger McCorney
All of the things, like the outset. He said them all, and then now he's. Now, like.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
If he didn't say that last part, maybe you could have been like, oh.
Roger McCorney
He doesn't talk about the last.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He doesn't. He didn't realize one plus two came out. He's like, no, I was in the last one too, Tony. Specifically Tony Hawk's one plus two, which already came out. I was in that one. I'm gonna be in a new one.
Roger McCorney
And it's a remaster.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's a remaster.
Roger McCorney
It's not a remake. It's not. It's a remaster.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Back in June 2022, Tony Hawk said that a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Plus 4 was planned after Tony Hawk's 1 Plus 2, but plans were shelved after developer Vicarious Visions was absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment. At the time, Hawk said, quote, I wish there was some way to bring it back. I mean, who knows? Maybe when the dust all settles, we'll figure it out. End quote.
Roger McCorney
Being at the Xbox event this year. Oh, I mean, I've always. I've always. We've had this conversation for a while. Look, this is dead. We're not getting three plus four. I'm like. I feel like that's such an easy way to get, like, just fan hype and, like, just goodwill like that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McCorney
This doesn't surprise me at all. I'm sure Tim Gettys is very happy. Right. Like, is the. Who is it? Vicarious Visions. Right. Who made the first vicarious visions? Yeah, they're not doing. Are they dead? What happened to them? Are they doing Call of Duty? What's their deal?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This might. This is gonna be a year. Wrong. People write it. And I forget because that happened to a lot of those Activision Studios, Right. Because it was Toys for Bob. It was this. And I think there was, like, one other one.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I believe they were on Call of Duty. But, like, when the whole Activision Blizzard acquisition happened, I think things got shaken up to where I don't know what.
Roger McCorney
The fuck is happening. Okay. So they could be making it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But, yeah, I mean, so Kebab says they're dead. Wasted bandwidth says that team got dissolved. They are Blizzard Albany now.
Roger McCorney
Oh, yes.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So, yeah, I think they're just gone now.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. So I wonder who's working on it. Right? Is it, you know, is it a team that we know? Is it just a random team that were like, hey, here it is. Remaster. Is it a remaster? Is it a remake?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, he's saying remaster. So I would think. I mean, that is so specific.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Him saying every word he just said is so. So I believe him.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I would think Tony Hawk's three plus four.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay.
Roger McCorney
One and two was labeled a remake or remaster.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think it was just called Tony Hawk's OnePlus 2. I mean, I would call it a remake, but, like, we know how conflated those terms get nowadays.
Roger McCorney
Okay? He says remaster. Yeah. And he said, well, he was in the last remaster. Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's just saying he's using the word remaster.
Roger McCorney
Okay. That's fair. He's wrong. Charlemagne should have called him out. Fake journalism.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Where was it? Angela Yee. She saw.
Roger McCorney
She's gone.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
She's gone. What about DJ Envy?
Roger McCorney
Yeah, he's still there.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Man, we gotta tell those people. Let me tell you. Jesus and Marrow ruined. Ruined the Breakfast Club for me, man.
Roger McCorney
I still. I want to feel something. I just watch that skit, that episode that they did right after getting attacked on the Breakfast Club, and it is the funniest episode of television ever.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
One of the worst heartbreaks that Dees is Amaro broke up.
Roger McCorney
So sad. And the fact that it seems like it's very. On very bad terms is not.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's making the pandemic ruined so much. Not that it was just a pandemic, because from details, it seems like it was a lot more.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But just so Many breakups happened during the pandemic. It's like, listen, let's all just come back together. Makeup. All right.
Roger McCorney
Are you looking at your ex right now?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Come back. I miss you. I miss you. I miss her. You. Roger. Me and my ex got back together. That'd be big. That'd be huge. But if I wanted something small, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go?
Roger McCorney
You'd go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Know about story number six. It's the We Dos. I was waiting for it. I was waiting for it. But of course, Buttons are doing weird things today. There we go. There we go. Coming to game pass. Today, we're getting avowed. On February 20th, you're getting EA Sports F124 and Warhammer 40K, Rogue Trader.
Roger McCorney
That's not real.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And on February 25th, you're getting Watchdogs, Legion. Also, Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2. Lawless is arriving this Friday.
Roger McCorney
Yeah, and the big rumor here is Yakuza potentially involved. Right? And someone has a bat that's glowing that has electric on it, which is probably Ichiban. Oh, Ichiban's bad. But also, Ichiban probably isn't in this one. It's probably going to be Majima and Kiryu. So I don't. The fuck is happening? I don't know. Give me the Yakuza skin. Just announce it. Just give it me. Send it to me too. I don't want to pay for it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that is it for WE News. Let's get into some super chats before we get out of here. Kevin N writes in and says, the woman who sings Get Connected is Tove Low.
Roger McCorney
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I went down this rabbit hole recently.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Very famous artist now, Street Shadow writes in and says, sony had a huge backlash with indies. IGN reported on this three years ago. Shu helped lead the charge to rebuild the relationships. He did a lot. It's a good call. We talked. I remember talking about that.
Roger McCorney
Let's get the most likable person ever. Sorry. It's an emotion. But, like, we just need you. That's what I feel like happened.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Yeah. I remember talking about that on Psy. Love you. As far as. Yeah, PlayStation kind of had a tumultuous relationship with indies. For there for a while, it was all, what are you looking at?
Roger McCorney
We just got breaking news. We'll talk about tomorrow. The same.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Send it to me.
Roger McCorney
It's in the kitchen.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay. But yeah, it was always the thing of like indies having trouble developing on PlayStation or like those relationships, like the communication being off and just a number of things. Right. So, yeah, it is lovely having somebody that is, to your point. Yeah. Very likable. Somebody who knows the ins and outs, Somebody who's been around for a very long time. Somebody who I think is able to carry that flag for indies and like, get that relationship going in a very strong way. So again, Shuhei embraced that. Jose was great at that.
Roger McCorney
Yep.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But still unfortunate that, like, it. It feels like more of a, hey, you have to do this as opposed to like, I don't know, he acted.
Roger McCorney
Like a champion even without the belt.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Damn. I mean, that's real.
Roger McCorney
That's a real shit, bro.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's real.
Roger McCorney
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
John Cena, before we get out of here, let's hop into your wrong. Of course you can write in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. I just saw the breaking news.
Roger McCorney
We just say it like you just say it and then we'll, We'll. We'll. Okay, yeah, we'll.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We'll say it and we'll cover it. We'll talk about tomorrow. This comes from. Actually, let me click in to see where this comes from. Noble is tweeting it.
Roger McCorney
Yeah. And it's from the LinkedIn of the director.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, okay. So NetEase has laid off Marvel Rivals director and his team. This is from a LinkedIn post from Thaddeus Sasser. This is such a weird industry. My stellar talented team just helped deliver an incredibly successful new franchise in Marvel Rivals and netease games. And we're just laid off. I'm gonna save the rest for KHD tomorrow because that's gonna be probably the headline. That's fucking insane.
Roger McCorney
We're falling apart as an industry. What are we doing? What the fuck are we doing? What are we doing anymore?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This is like trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers. What are you doing?
Roger McCorney
There's so many people are playing this game.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, there's gonna be. There's definitely gonna be a Jason Schreier story or some deep dive into what is going on here. Because like, yeah, that's wild. That's wild. I did someone legendary back fumbles being happened.
Roger McCorney
I did see someone say something very funny. They're like, Marvel Rivals didn't sell well. It's a free to play game.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, yeah, that's gonna call. Roger, this has been a wonderful episode of KGD with you and Kevin Coelho on the ones and twos. Of course, after this, you're gonna continue. Yeah. Because you're gonna review like, a dragon pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Did I nail that?
Roger McCorney
You fucking nailed it. Come on, bro. Come on.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Come on.
Roger McCorney
He was on that. He was on that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And of course, Brittany Bombacher is going to join. Yeah. Along with Snow. Like Mike.
Roger McCorney
Who has played it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Who's played the game?
Roger McCorney
Who's played it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Come on.
Roger McCorney
He's played.
Blessing Adioye Jr.

The main focus of the episode is an in-depth review of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 1. The hosts and guest Joey Noel delve into various aspects of the game, comparing it to previous titles by the developer Dontnod, such as Life Is Strange.
Metacritic: 76

Tom Phillips (Eurogamer): 4/5 Stars
"What's here already, though, is an intriguing mix of familiar and new, not an offbeat road trip and not just another high school adventure. After such a lengthy wait, it's great to see such a confident return."
Graham Smith (Rock Paper Shotgun): Unscored Review
"Lost Records is bland, derivative, lacks momentum, does not reward player agency, and it twice made me cringe so hard that I had to look away from the screen."
Dontnod Entertainment, known for Life Is Strange and Twin Mirror, returns with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, aiming to reinvent their narrative-driven gameplay.
Storytelling and Pacing:
The game takes a slower approach compared to Dontnod’s previous titles, focusing heavily on character relationships and world-building before introducing significant plot developments.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Introduction of a camcorder mechanic where players can record in-game events, which adds a layer of immersion and collectible dynamics.
Graphics and Performance:
The game boasts impressive visuals but suffers from minor technical issues like stuttering and rough lip-syncing.
Roger McCorney: 7/10
Appreciates the deliberate pacing and character development but notes the lack of dynamic choices.
Joey Noel: 6/10
Praises the camcorder feature and collectibles but feels disconnected from the broader character ensemble.
Blessing Adioye Jr.: 6.5/10
