This episode is brought to you by Aura Frames and Shady Rays, but we'll tell you about that later. Today's stories include Sony is making a Horizon mmo, but it's not what you think. Fallout Season two gets an official trailer. And what's going on with Ubisoft? We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. What's up? And welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Thursday, November 13, 2025. Of course, I'm your host, Tim Gettys. I'm joined today by blessing. Adio ye Jr bless. How you doing?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm doing good, Tim. How are you doing?
Tim Gettys
I'm doing really good. Yesterday was so fun. One of my favorite type of kind of funny days where breaking news comes in and throws our entire schedule and makes everything really stressful, but really fun. You know, really big announcements, a lot of thoughts, a lot of things to discuss.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's nice when it's a fun announcement. Yeah, it's an announcement that all of us are excited for. Yeah, it's a thing we all want in our living rooms. I think those are the best conversations to have when it's like, oh, this is going to change my whole gaming.
Tim Gettys
Exactly. And when we just get to be enthusiast for a little bit, you know, like start to take the information in as it's coming, which is a fun thing too, because then we get to talk about it and then I get to go home and, you know, watch all my YouTube videos and listen to all my favorite people talk about the stuff. Stuff. So listening to Digital Foundry, who got their hands on with a lot of the Steam hardware yesterday was very fascinating because hearing that conversation changed my thoughts a lot on little, little bits and pieces here and there of the whole thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Where you at with pricing?
Tim Gettys
Well, that, that is a big part of it and it doesn't really change what I'm. Whatever. I think it's going to land too much. But they were talking about it as way more console level. Having said that, the guy that they were interviewing specifically said it'll be priced higher than consoles. So what consoles are they talking about though? Are they talking about the PS5 or the time of PS5 Pro? Where's that at power wise? Less than that. So we'll see less than the Pro. So it's very interesting times and I don't think we have to wait too long to find out, but yeah. Are you still buzzing off the Steam stuff?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I am still buzzing off the Steam. Steam stuff, yeah. It's kind of crazy how. I don't know, there's something about what they're presenting, the suite of products they're presenting, that just really speaks to me. I think it. I think what it is is that I can see the vision, and there's something about seeing the vision that changes everything. There are some companies where they're announcing things and I'm like, I don't see the vision. Xbox, I don't see the vision here. It's like, all right, we got the Steam frame that I may or may not end up getting. We'll see. Probably not if it's too expensive, especially not the Steam machine. Fuck yeah, dude. Controller that speaks to me. I like the way my Steam deck feels. Right? Like all of this stuff speaks to me in a way that I think is going to transform how I continue to play games on PC. So yeah, I'm for sure still looking forward to it.
Tim Gettys
I love, I love the chat so much sometimes because I got a couple people being like, that's not what they said. They said it's going to be priced like a PC when I said it's not going to be priced like a console. Sorry, guys, you know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got to be very careful about your words, Tim. You can't just say, I hope you're.
Tim Gettys
Not implying a PC is cheaper than a console, so whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Can't just say things on a podcast.
Tim Gettys

This is one that I'm really I'm sad I missed the theater showing for this one. I am. I love Edgar Wright movies but I had to choose between going to this screening or continuing my volleyball season.
Tim Gettys
And you made the right call. And I made the right call because you're still dominating.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're fucking dominating the season.
Tim Gettys
How are you going to feel if your team loses next week when you're not there?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm going to feel so bad. And it's the thing like again, one of my favorite rappers, she's from the uk. She's appearing in Oakland.
Tim Gettys
I got to see it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But also, what if I didn't know? What if I. What if I show up in the game?
Tim Gettys
Don't do that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's like High School Musical. I want to be in two places at once.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I choose the sport.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do I choose the women's world Conundrum. Exactly.
Tim Gettys

We have seven stories.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Bakers does it. People in chat were asking who it is. It is Little Sims. It is Little Sims. One of the one of the best in the game right now. I'll say it.
Tim Gettys
He said it. Story number one, Sony is making a Horizon mmo. This comes from Jay Peters at the Verge. Super chat. Question for you. Is this what you want out of a multiplayer Horizon game? Let's check out the details. The rumored MMO set in Sony's post apocalyptic Horizon universe is real. We spilled details about the game before it was revealed based on an announcement video we saw and that video has been officially posted and more has been shared. About the title too. The new game is called Horizon Steel Frontiers and Sony and the Korean video game company NCSOFT are working on the cross platform title together for PC, iOS and Android. It'll be free to play, according to the game's website. Based on the more than 10 minute announcement video, which features a mix of cinematic and pre alpha gameplay footage as well as developer interviews, the game will focus strongly on fighting the Horizon series giant mechanical beasts and being able to do so with other people. Footage from the announcement video shows players taking on beasts as well as navigating through lush natural environments and looming metal buildings you might be familiar with if you've played the Horizon games. Horizon Steel Frontiers is a full fledged MMORPG that NCSoft has built specifically for mobile. With Steel Frontiers, you can step into the world anytime, anywhere. Players take on the role of machine hunters chasing opportunity in a region called the Deathlands. This is inspired by Arizona and New Mexico. You're sharing the frontier with thousands of other players, sometimes working together to take down machines and other times competing with rival tribes or fighting over resources. And that mix of cooperation and competition creates moments that you could never script. The core concept of Horizon Steel Frontiers can be summed up in one phrase the thrill of taking down colossal machines. Hunting massive machines was one of the greatest appeals of the original Horizon series, and now we're expanding that experience into the world of MMORPGs. Lee says there will be new mechanics for fighting the machines, like picking up dropped weapons from beasts and carrying them on a mount to use in later fights. The announcement video also highlights the game's the game, the game's character customization features. In Steel Frontiers, instead of playing as Aloy, who's been the series protagonist thus far, you'll be able to make your own character, maybe named Taylor Swift. Sony and NCSoft haven't shared a release date, but Lee says in the announcement video that the team is working to make the game available as soon as possible. There's a 10 minute video. I didn't watch it. Bless. Did you watch it?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've skimmed through it. I didn't have time to watch it while I was prepping KFC this morning, but I tasked somebody with watching it.
Tim Gettys
I know one man that has watched and that man's name is Greg Miller.
Greg Miller
Hello everyone. It's me, Greg Miller, captain of Team Orange, soon to be season four champion of kind of funny game showdown. You wouldn't know anything about Orange, would you? Burnt orange jacket, brown man. How's everybody doing?
Tim Gettys
Good.
Greg Miller
You're Wet. It's wet out there. Hi, how are you? It's me, Greg Miller. I love Monster Hunter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yep, you do.
Greg Miller
I love Horizon too.
Tim Gettys
I don't know, I feel like you love mobile.
Greg Miller
I've been burned a lot. I do, yeah, I do, I do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A match made in heaven for you.
Greg Miller
No, PlayStation. You know we're doing a PC mobile game, not putting on PlayStation.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah, that's the most interesting thing. Yeah. At the beginning of the show mentioned. It's not what you think. And it's funny because if you've been reading all the rumors, this NC soft game MMORPG has been floating in the east forever because for some reason Sony's making a billion Horizon things. There's also another Horizon multiplayer game being made by Gorilla.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Which I'm very fascinated about now after seeing this trailer because I think the thoughts were, okay, this NCsoft thing is the MMO and then the gorilla one is going to be way more of a monster type game. Greg, you having watched the 11 minute.
Greg Miller
Video, skim through it too. Didn't get through it all. You gave it to me late. I had a lot of things going on this morning. But yeah, yeah, yeah, it's okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like what's your take on this? Is this, I mean the Monster Hunter game we've been asking for?
Greg Miller
Well, I think, come on now, we've been. Monster has been doing quite fine by itself. You watch this trailer and I, and I do urge you to go watch the. I'll come down here, sorry. I do tell you to go watch the 10 minute take on it and scroll through it. There are so many things pulled directly out of Monster Hunter and so I mean, yeah, you're fighting big monsters, yada, yada yada. This is the cinematic stuff, Kevin. I know it's a long video if you can scrub around. And I mean at one point they have men making you food and it's like these are just. It's later in the. It's. Yeah, it's probably beyond that second half somewhere. But it's literally like right here you're walking up to the quest board. This is pulled straight out of Monster. If you want to roll back a few seconds on that footage right there, Kev, you'll see walking around this hub world to get to that quest board. It looks like you're walking around anyone many of the Monster Hunter things. Now granted this also does look like horizon to a degree, but just the way it's animating, the way it's walking looks so monster hunting. And I'm not knocking you making a Monster Hunter clone. I like Monster Hunter quite a bit, obviously. And I won't lie to you. Driving home last night when this news broke, right when the rumors came out and there was always gonna be announced today at the Korean thing, I was like, oh, boo. PC Mobile. I'm probably not gonna be a fan of it. Then you were like, you like monster. You check it. I'm like, all right, so I watch video. Like, watching the video makes me 10 times more excited to play it. But I was at a zero before. So it's like, okay, like, I mean, we're getting, we're going somewhere with it, but I'm still not like 10 times zero. It's still zero. I know, but you know what I mean? You understand what I'm saying? I'm like, I'm at least a little bit just watching it. Like, this all does look, I, I, yes, it doesn't look a monster, sure. But it also looks like Horizon. It's weird that like again, the hub world part, the quest board thing, if you can find that men cooking, replace them with cats and that's literally just monster because they're doing the whole thing with the thing and the cinematic spin and the presentation of the food and all this jazz too, doesn't really matter. But it's like when you get into the gameplay, it does look like Horizon, which is good. And it has that identity to it. I wonder how it will look on mobile if you, they do a lot of character creation stuff in here that's interesting. Of course, when you go to. If you click on the gameplay trailer. Kev, that's also in here. That one very interesting. Like, can you hide us? Kev, I know I'm asking you a lot to do a lot of stuff on the fly. Seeing this hotkey bar below on how you're attacking. This is where I go, ah, what am I getting?
Tim Gettys
What are we.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's a PC mmo. That's what it is. That's the one thing like the, the it not coming to PlayStation side of it. I think that's the like worst part of this as far as like what fans come to expect from a Horizon franchise thing. Like, we're playing Horizon on PlayStation. Tell me you're making a Horizon. It's not going to PlayStation. I think that rubs fans the wrong way. But the other side of it is that I look at this game and you can tell me if I'm crazy. I look at this and go, this looks incredible to me. Yeah, this looks fantastic. But Then, yeah, I see the hockeys you're talking about and I'm like, how is it going to play Shallow.
Tim Gettys
The very, very, very shallow, I think is the answer. Like, you look at this and yes, it's very pretty, but it's very pre canned. Yeah, every single thing looks very. It's like you're going through the motion.
Greg Miller
And that comes to the hotkey bar we're talking about again, right? Where it's like, okay, cool. There's no joysticks on this screen. So I assume I'm. Is my character auto moving and I'm just clicking on. You see those boxes light up and then go into cooldowns. So am I just clicking those and I'm assuming. Let's just go from a mobile.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Must be PC gameplay, okay? Like, you must be moving around your character. Like, what do you mean?
Greg Miller
I'm just throwing it out there. Of like, I'm just throwing it out there. I don't know.
Tim Gettys
I don't know.
Greg Miller
I. I've been burned too many times by, hey, we're gonna make this game on mobile and you can do all this stuff with it. It's gonna play a PC too. And da, da, da, da. And then.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I think we're talking about a different ecosystem, like mobile. When we talk about mobile games, we're talking about Genshin Impact, right? We're talking about games that can now be big open world. Like Assassin's Creed games are on mobile now. You know, like, I think this is now par for the course everyone's saying was done.
Greg Miller
Okay, I'm just tossing it out there. I'm just tossing out that. I don't. What I'm tossing out is I don't like the cooldowns on these bars. That's what I'm saying. And I know, yes, PC MMOs, yada yada yada. Yeah, I don't know. It's. On the one hand, it looks better than I thought it would, I'll give you that. On the other hand, I'm not stoked to jump into the Horizon world just to live in the Horizon world. Like, I like Horizon as a story. Like, you know, what's going on, what happened here, why'd we fall? Obviously, Horizon number one. Horizon to aloy. Doing this thing, terrible fucking ending. That's all interesting and I like that. But like, I don't know. I was never playing Horizon. I shouldn't say never. But like, when I think back to Horizon, I don't think of seeing a giant monster and be like, oh man, I'm Go fuck that thing up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Really?
Greg Miller
Yeah. No, that's what I think. For Monster Hunter and for me with Horizon personally, it was exploration, climbing up, finding the things for my focus, learning about what happen in that world. Now granted, that's just me as a gamer. I'm not, you know, saying everybody has to do that. I'm going to try this. I'm going to give it the call try. I hope it's great. You know what I mean? But I look at, I look at it, I'm like, okay, you got a lot of things in there that I do like, obviously it does look really good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think, I think the thing, the place where I align with you is that in regards to horizons, plot and story, I'm way more invested in the An Aloys character and specifically the history of. How did we get here to the post apocalypse. What's going on with. Oh, what's her name was the spoilers for Horizon, but like the.
Tim Gettys
Your girlfriend.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I keep. Want to say Carrie Ann Moss.
Greg Miller
Oh, here's the. Here's what I'm talking about. Literally Monster Hunter cooking, which again, like rad. But I mean like you're doing literally all the stuff that Palacos do. But it's okay.
Tim Gettys
It's a little weird.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thank you, Elizabeth. That's what I'm talking about. Sorry, sorry, sorry. The.
Greg Miller
This is cool. Kevin, let that play for a second, if you don't mind. Going into the Ark.
Tim Gettys
Is that what they call. I forgot there.
Greg Miller
And fighting all the monsters on the inside, teaming up like that. This, you know, could be really cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The most interesting parts of Horizon for me are the. Is the tale of the post apocalypse of it and how we got here in like the prehistory, actual humans and all this. Right. I think the lesser interesting parts of it are the interplay between like the different tribes within the Horizon world. Like everything that's present day in Horizon going on between these different factions. I'm like, okay, it's fine. Yeah, like it's there for me to like kind of get to the next thing and then get to the Cool. Oh, but here's what's going on with this big threat and here's what's going on with, you know, Aloy's, you know, past and yeah, that's 100 years and all that stuff. And you're not gonna get any of that here. And so I think plot wise, that's where I kind of align with you, where I'm like, I don't know if I want to live in this Part of the Horizon world. That said, one of the things, man, this is weird. These character models. There's something about these character models that are uncanny to me. And I don't know why, but to pull it back, I do have the feeling of the monsters, the robot creatures. I do think they're cool enough to, like, compete. I won't say compete with like the Monster Hunter monsters, but to eventually grow into that. I think taking off the different parts of the creatures and the dinosaurs and all that, there's something satisfying about it that I could see satisfying that monster in your gameplay loop.
Greg Miller
And I think, you know, as you talk about Monster Hunter Wilds and it hemorrhaging players and not being able to maintain the audience they thought Capcom clearly thought it was going to have coming out, you look at this and you do get into could that fill the itch? And I think some part of that being more direct helps a lot. Where I always feel like in Monster Hunter, I'm stabbing at this thing, hoping I get a scale or whatever. But in Horizon, I understand when I look at all these different machines, I need that tank that's on their back. So if I target that on this run and do that, maybe that works for me.
Tim Gettys
I also think that you guys are talking a lot about plot. I feel like so much of what makes Horizon so good is obviously, it looks beautiful, but it is the versatility of the combat, right? And it's like how the. You're able to like, run around and use all your tools at your dispense and it's awesome, right? This, though, doesn't seem like that. This, like, seems like it's taking a lot of that away. And I get. I know that that's just what this is by default when you change what the genre is, what this is. But yeah, it's interesting. I do think them not Putting it on PlayStation is a clear choice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I don't.
Tim Gettys
I don't expect that this ends up on PlayStation. I think that this is just trying to raise brand awareness for Horizon. But this coming hot off the heels of yesterday's Ratchet and Clank news too, right? It's like, yeah, it is very interesting. We known this stuff was coming, right, for a couple years that they've been working on this stuff. But yeah, to have two of the bigger PlayStation franchises, at least I know Ratchet's not that big, all Things considered, but PlayStation pushes the character. Ratchet.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. Mascot.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, what do you guys think? That we're getting another one of the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Anytime soon, like another game.
Tim Gettys
Ratchet, Horizon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, another mobile. I mean, the cadence is. Is very interesting. I. I wonder if it just landed this way, where. Oh, we have two announcements that just happen to be ready. And so here's Ratchet, here's Ryzen, day after day. But that team has been around for a very long time, and I feel like they've. I guess they've been working for a long time. I'll say yes. Right. For a team that's been probably in the process of figuring out how to make this work, I think, yeah, there's probably more to expect as far as these PlayStation mobile games. Although I think this Horizon 1 is probably way more on the higher scale of what to expect. I expect more Ratchet type mobile games than what we're having.
Greg Miller
With everything that's happened, we talk about, you know, this one's been rumored, the MMORPG forever. And then with this, hey, they're doing a. Was it trios or duos? Was the rumor for Monster Hunter multiplayer?
Tim Gettys
I'm sorry. God damn it.
Greg Miller
Horizon multiplayer at Guerrilla. Do you think that's still happening? Because remember, of course, obviously this was. This was part of the live service push and all that jazz, and they've seen everybody eat on that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's still happening.
Greg Miller
I think a gorilla multiplayer one's still happening.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes. My question is, what is it and what are you doing to differentiate it from this? In that job listing they. In. In that announcement for it, they talked about it having like a fresh new art style as well. And so I wonder what the demographic is. Is it going to be more Kitty? Is it going to be more. Hey, we're making this more animated so we can appeal to a different demographic, Like a different age demographic. Because I look at this and I'm like, okay, well, if this MMO is also feeding the.
Greg Miller
They're saying, they said this today, by the way, that it is still happening.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, there you go. Okay, cool. Yeah. If this animal is also feeding that monster hunter itch, then what's left for the Horizon multiplayer game to do?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I mean, I think a PlayStation exclusive is different enough, literally, even if it is the same thing, but just with a PlayStation polish as opposed to a like PC mobile, MMORPG polish, which. They are different things. Those things can exist on that platform. PlayStation games can exist on mobile. But we all look at that and we. There's a gut feeling. Whereas the gorilla multiplayer game, even if there's a lot of similarities, we're gonna look at and be like, that's A real game. That's a real game. Yeah, exactly. Which is the derogatory term to use.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But of course I think I go the. The reverse way when they talk about the different art style. And I go, we're gonna see it and it's gonna look like such a spin off.
Tim Gettys
But I'm with you. Yeah, well, spin off, yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. But yeah, it's. That just looks like they're trying to exactly emulate the look of Horizon. And they're succeeding, right? Yeah, to a uncanny degree.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I also wonder how much of the timing of this announcement is due to the light of multi rom like lawsuit stuff that's going on. Right. Like them going after them obviously. Like, oh, you guys are making in like this big mmo. I forget exactly what the genre of like to motor is, but you're making this game. It looks so similar to what we're doing here with our Horizon mmo. No, we're not going to let that happen. I wonder if them announcing this here is part of. All right, we're going to continue to go after them. We have to show that. Oh no, this is going after. This is copying something that we are directly doing now.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because this just popping out the blue I think is weird. Why?
Unknown Prisoner
Is it?
Greg Miller
Well, no, but it didn't pop out of the blue.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Greg Miller
It was at the. What, what was the Korean summit whatever thing last night that this got announced at.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, is that what.
Greg Miller
Yeah, G summit. Is anybody. Anybody help me on this chat? Can you help me on this? I got to go pick up coffee. I got a guest coming.
Tim Gettys
I still do think that that is weird. I mean, weird. It just means different how things used to go. The fact that a game like this, that looks like this with a PlayStation IP like Horizon isn't being announced at a PlayStation thing. Yeah, it's weird.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's weird. Except that it's not coming to PlayStation, which is even weirder.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I mean, exactly. And things are changing. That's just all that this is a sign of. But yeah, like it is. It's just wild that one of PlayStation's big five franchises, they won't probably want it to be big three.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, you know, I mean, I would say it's probably already Big three, I.
Tim Gettys
Guess, you know, it gets a little hard because Spider man is always a weird one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're right. Big five then. Yeah. Because I was gonna say last was Uncharted's, like taking a break, but I would still put in there. But yeah, Uncharted, God of War. Last was Spider Man Horizon. Those are five.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Good five.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Pretty good five.
Tim Gettys
Let's get to some super chats here about this. Kebab says I don't want multiplayer Horizon full stop.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I, I mean, I disagree. I think there are ways through Horizon multiplayer that can be very compelling and that goes back to the monster in a conversation that we're always having. I, I don't know if this is going to hit the mark perfectly, but I'm also not writing this off. Like I, I think this game looks good. I think it looks, it looks good in a way where it's like if you're gonna do it, do it all the way. And I think they're doing it all the way as far as what a Horizon MMO looks like.
Tim Gettys
I think. And we're kind of going in circles here. Like, like we've showed this in different ways already but like I think they're looking at this. It is a smart call to not have this beyond PlayStation because this is trying to introduce this audience to a game that's this stunning with the art design and world. Yeah, the Horizon world, it's fucking cool. I would say the majority people that care about sci fi and just worlds and stuff, they're like, Horizon looks cool, you know?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And so it's like you don't need Aloy, you don't need the story, you don't need all that stuff. You just need a cool look, cool looking world with cool looking robots to fight or whatever you want to call them. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And it's for the people that have never played Horizon, don't care about Horizon, maybe even never heard of Horizon. I think that's even the bigger thing. This is for an audience of people that maybe aren't console gamers at all. Right. They just care about the games that they're playing, where they are and like that this might make them a Horizon fan and expand the IP in a valuable way. But there's a lot of ifs there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A lot of ifs there. And the one other thing I was going to mention that I'm sure we already touched on is that there's just too much Horizon. I think that's the thing where I kind of agree with Kebabs as far as not wanting a Horizon multiplayer thing is that I, I kind of do want a Horizon multiplayer thing. I don't need two Horizon multiplayer things. I don't need a Horizon VR game. I don't need a. I feel like I'm getting Horizon left and right in a way that I did not ask.
Tim Gettys
For, but I don't think you are. You're not gonna play this. I don't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I will.
Tim Gettys
Okay, maybe. Yeah. But like, I think that's because it's your job. I don't think that most Horizon fans are going to play this. And I don't think that's by design. And I think that's by design.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, interesting.
Tim Gettys
I think that yes, there is a lot of Horizon projects, but like, I think that they are speaking to incredibly different audiences.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I mean, I guess the, the rebuttal I give to that is, then why call it Horizon?
Tim Gettys
Because they're. It's the ip. Yeah. But you can then maybe convert them to the bigger $70 big ticket items and sell PS5s, because that is Sony's business.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I guess I just don't believe in that plan. Right. Like, I think if you, if you're making a Horizon ip, if you're making a game that is. That exists in the Horizon universe that looks exactly like Horizon, that is like very much a spin off of what Horizon is. I think you're making that to try and get Horizon fans.
Tim Gettys
I think about it like Pokemon, where It's like there's 10 bazillion spin offs and just because you didn't play Mystery Dungeon, like, it doesn't really matter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
You know, and. Or even there are games like Pokemon Legends. Odd, you cannot play that. Or the Pokemon Legends. And then Pokemon core generation games, like, they're different, but then there's a shit ton of them. And I know Pokemon is a loaded thing to bring into it, but I think even like LEGO Horizon Adventures, it's like, that's not for necessarily all the people that played Horizon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gettys
You know, like, it's.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And like there I also.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Horizons would be my. Would be my question then.
Tim Gettys
I mean, I don't know, like my assumption. I don't think it's been enough to look at it and say they've succeeded or failed. Like, I don't think there is that much.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You don't have the information on it. But like, I, I would be surprised if LEGO Horizon did that. Well, and maybe, and maybe I'm totally wrong about this, but I just, I'd be surprised too.
Tim Gettys
And I think a lot of that just has to do with timing. And like, I think that if. I honestly think that if Lego Horizon 2, like launched with the Switch 2, I think it would have done better.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, I could see that.
Tim Gettys
But the timing of where Nintendo was at, which was obviously a big marketing play for them there I Don't think that it was like the right situation for all of them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I just don't think Horizon is the kind of IP that is so wide reaching in the way that a Pokemon is, where you can make different Pokemon for different people or whatever. Yeah, I just don't think Horizon has that power.
Tim Gettys
I agree.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I think that they clearly are trying to change that. I think that this is the way that you do that is by making things in the world for different people. Not expecting the people that are fans to play all of them. But yeah, I don't know. We'll see. I also say this is somebody that like, I enjoy the Rising games. I think they're beautiful and I, because of how beautiful they are, I play them. That's the end of it. I don't love the games, you know. Yeah, I have zero interest in this whatsoever. I can't think of a Horizon spin off that I'm like, that would make me go, hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fair enough.
Tim Gettys
So Zeke Speak said, it's weird that Horizon started as a game about climate change and the perils of techno futurism. And now, I mean, I get that the world's cool, but I don't know, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, I want to bring in. I saw this come in in my notifications. Somebody sent me a thread where people point out that the Horizon Steel Frontiers, this game that we're talking about, uses AI extensively, including for art. I'm looking at a link to a page. It's like a news page, but it's in a different language, but it's in Korean. But there is a quote poll that's been translated where they ask about, let's see. Horizon. Horizon Steel Frontier was previously known as Project Skyline. There was talk about introducing AI embassies back then. Are there any related features that have been implemented as part of interview? The response is within the company. We are testing and receiving help from basic NPCs in the process of cooperating or fighting together in combat. In our case, since it's an action rpg, we are receiving help in various aspects such as determining the optimal number of players for gameplay rather than playing with a large number of users internally. We are also using AI assistance for production from coding to art. It is being substantially implemented in an in actual development and the technologies will likely be revealed one one by one later. The Horizon development team is also the team that wants to utilize AI the most. We're using it extensively and you'll be able to see the level of AI utilization increase significantly in the games released after after Aeon 2 is what they say, which I assume might be one of their other games, but the world changes.
Tim Gettys
Oh, this is very cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I wonder if they scrape Monster Hunter, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, could you imagine?
Tim Gettys
I mean, real talk. Look at that. God, what a why is it all.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The games that are about the perils of technology that are using AI? Like what's. Yeah, Arc Raiders and a Horizon game are the games that are using AI for their creation. Does nobody see irony?
Tim Gettys
Anyway, we're headed towards a apocalyptic future. Bless story number two. Fallout Season two's got an official trailer. Let's live. React to it after a word from our sponsor.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got me.

So I've seen a lot of things. Dude, I cannot wait for this. Crazy things. Unnatural things in the game. But good people.
Tim Gettys
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That girl I met.
Tim Gettys
I would be a good person too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

Tim Gettys
Well, then you're gonna need friends. There's a war coming. Whoa.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah.
Tim Gettys
That's cool. Guyship.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I understand we're discussing a civil war.
Tim Gettys
I'm a snot of God. Hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's go.
Tim Gettys
They actually beginning to get along? She going to say okie dokie?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
She's got to say okie dokie.
Tim Gettys
Oh my God. Try.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Try again. Yes.
Mariana Van Zeller
So this is me.
Tim Gettys
I'd ask why my dad ran into.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A den of monsters, but he'd probably.
Tim Gettys
Just tell me to shut the fudge up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dude, I cannot wait.
Tim Gettys
It looks phenomenal.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, looks fantastic, man. Especially this Fallout fan they're giving me like the. That I want, right? Like the seeing the power armor go head to head. With the death claw. That's that good right there. You know what I mean? Camille Nanjiani.
Tim Gettys
Love that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I love how he got ripped and stayed ripped. You know what I mean? Like, it's like this way.
Tim Gettys
This is it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I get it.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Maybe he's waiting for eternals too. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure. That'll come. I wish it would come. I like that movie. Yeah. No, I'm. I cannot wait for this.
Tim Gettys
I. I'm just so damn impressed. Like, I feel that season one was such a great show. What? Like, I can't believe I'm this hype for a Fallout thing. That's like, they did it. They really achieved, I think, the impossible when it comes to. To my taste. But, yeah, this show is awesome. This looks great. Love the. Love the new additions to the cast, but also love seeing those two together a lot more. Like, that's. And it's coming so soon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Got my Juan Goggins, and I can't think of her name. Main character.
Tim Gettys
What's her name? Ella Purnell.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ella Pernell. Thank you. You're talking about those two together?
Tim Gettys
Yes. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. No. Such a great dynamic. I. Dude, this was one of the shows where I loved all the main characters, like, even.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, I can't remember anybody's name, but the Brotherhood of Steel dude, he.
Tim Gettys
Was my least favorite, but he. Over time. Yeah, he started in a way, I really didn't like him, but, yeah, I think that was kind of plot wise.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What? It was the turning point. The turning point was him talking about his penis exploding. Like, that was the point where I was like, all right, I like this guy now. They got good writing in this show, so.
Tim Gettys
And also, like, I like that the. The budget seems to be higher, but, like, not overly done. You know what I mean? We're getting a lot of scale here, which is good, but it just seems right. It seems like it's going the right places.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes. Like, even the scene where you saw. You see, like, the sky, the. The ships. Right. Like, the them coming in, I. For some reason, it's still cool, but in my. I almost had to do the video game thing of filling in more ships.
Tim Gettys
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Like, I was kind of like, man. But it's also Fallout, so it's not.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's not like you would get a billion fucking skyships coming through. That's not what this world is.
Tim Gettys
But I looked.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I saw that. I was like, oh, cool. I guess that's it. Yeah, I guess it's Fallout.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Oh, wait, what Was that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What'd you say?
Tim Gettys
What's his name? Macaulay Culkin.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We go back. Oh, it is Macaulay Culkin. That's. That's hilarious.
Tim Gettys
The show can't lose.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. They're cooking. They're cooking.
Tim Gettys
That's awesome. December 17th, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
17Th. You're close, Kevin.
Tim Gettys
You go to the end of it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think you're right. Yeah.
Tim Gettys
17.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There you go.
Tim Gettys
Oh, my God. That's so close. A month from now, let's move on to story number three. Ubisoft postpones their earnings report. This comes from Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, who says Ubisoft just postponed. Ubisoft just postponed its earnings report and halted the trading of its shares. Unclear why at this point, but could indicate a major announcement related to the company. Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. They posted verbatim, Ubisoft announces the press release. Ubisoft announces the postponement of the release of its results for the first half of the fiscal year 2025-2026. Ubisoft has requested Euronext to halt trading of its shares and its bonds.
Tim Gettys
I've Shadow Trickster in the chat says, do they have earnings to report?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That might be a good point.
Tim Gettys
They're like Assassin's Creed Shadows this year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, they're cooked.
Tim Gettys
No, but it sold hella well. Like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, but that's all they had. Yeah, yeah, that's all they had.
Tim Gettys
For sure. For sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know if, like, it sold so well to carry.
Tim Gettys
I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that. But, like, they had earnings to report.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Earning, singular. We made a dollar. We got this.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Congratulations. This doesn't sound good, though. Right? With all that we've heard about Ubisoft. And I'm not even talking about their decisions in terms of their games and their studios and this. I'm talking about the, like, they are going to get sold one day.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And that used to be a thing of, like, defend Ubisoft. Let's figure this out. And then it's like, oh, wait, the guys at the top are really shady characters acting in ways that are not good. At the very least, morally reprehensible.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And I would host like, because I. I think that that went along with a lot of the 2020 people coming out and talking about, like, the bad actors in the industry and specifically a lot of the bad actors that were at Ubisoft and who knows how really goes. But I feel like the word has been that they went in and like, cleaned house as much as they probably can. As much as they probably know how to clean house. And of course, I won't even get into it, but you'd hope that we're at a place now where that stuff isn't as like, I guess, much of a problem on that side. But that's even hard to say because I have no idea.
Tim Gettys
There's no way. There's no way. Right? I mean, like, we. We know who's at the top and the family, and we know they are literally the source of the problem. And it feels like that's not changing. So, yeah, whatever this means, it's like, all right, cool. It could get worse.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's the tough thing too, of like, not knowing what I want to happen here. Right. Because.
Tim Gettys
But we know what we don't. Right? Saudi Arabia.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I was gonna say closure, but yeah, either one. Like, I. I mean, it's the thing where I repeat that consolidation is bad and consolidation is scary. And like, honestly, anybody buying Ubisoft, I'd probably be like, oh, man. Well, this is gonna lead to layoffs, but also Ubisoft closing is gonna lead to layoffs. And also like Ubisoft continuing as it is is going to lead to late. I just don't know what a good solution is.
Tim Gettys
Ubisoft closing. You saying that. I know that it's almost a, like a shitty joke between me and you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
That anytime we're sitting here for games daily and the headline pops up of like, Ubisoft's in trouble. What's Ubisoft doing? Whatever. It's like, oh, my God, are we really talking about this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, how long can we say this until there's a headline that is Ubisoft shutters.
Tim Gettys
I've never.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
IP is just for sale now.
Tim Gettys
Never once considered it until you just said that right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And like, holy crap. I do. I think that that is doom and gloom, but we're in doom and gloom days.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Because you're right. Sell off the ip like the value make those guys can make money. I don't see it happening. I see them go riding this into the abyss, but, man, how much longer can you ride? I don't know. We're at a Splinter style remake coming eventually.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure we do.
Tim Gettys
We have sets of time rebate.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure we do.
Tim Gettys
We might have a Rayman.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That'd be sick. That one.
Tim Gettys
I kind of believe one day they're going to take Assassin's Creed to Japan. Maybe they'll put out a big Star wars game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What if we put out a Prince of Persia, Roguelite and like, didn't really market it that well.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. What if it was really, really, really good? And what if it was hot off the heels and we put it out in early access months after some people's game of the year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Before shuttering that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
In that same franchise. Yeah. Oh, yeah. They shuttered that team.
Tim Gettys
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fuck, dude.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, they did.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Hey, prayers for Ubisoft, I get. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to say about Ubisoft anymore.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know what. Like, I would love for them to get their shit together. I guess that. I guess that's what I want. I want them to get their shit together. I just. I'm just afraid that it's way too late.
Tim Gettys
It's tough, man. Because we're at the point right now, right? We have the. We're in the Assassin's Creed. Are we getting DLC for that? Did we already get deals for Shadow?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I think we already got.
Tim Gettys
Somewhere around there. We just got the Star Wars Outlaws DLC not too long ago. I think the next step, like, all shade aside, it's Far Cry, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Like, it's time to go back to Far Cry. Is that enough? I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's the thing is I don't think anything is. There's not one thing that Ubisoft has that is enough. It is all things hitting. You know what I mean? It is having that flow of, oh, damn, Assassin's Creed was awesome. Oh, Far Cry was sick. Oh, oh, there's a new watchdogs and people like it. Oh, like Rainbow Six and on Cleancing Games division is here. Like, Usopp's is the type of company that I think needs to be firing on all cylinders for their different pillars. And their pillars just feel shaky. Their foundation just feels shaky.
Tim Gettys
I mean, we've said this a million times, but literally, like, they put out their. They pulled the. If all else fails, Assassin's Creed Japan. They did that. And they had the division team make a Star wars game. Now what?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, yes, like, that's the thing.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Leading into last year, was the last year that we got Star Wars Outlaws. Yes, because. No, that was last.
Tim Gettys
Oh, sorry, sorry. Star Wars Outlaws. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gettys
Shadows. Was this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Shadows was supposed to be last year, but I remember earlier, last year, at least for me, I was talking about how, oh, this is the moment Ubisoft has a Star wars and the. In the Japan Assassin's Creed game, this is where the ship turns and I feel like Star Wars Outlaws landed with a thud. It Was whatever. I think sales wise didn't do up to their expectations. Assassin's Creed Shadows was an Assassin's Creed game. But yeah, like, it felt like just another Assassin's Creed game. I don't feel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but like, I don't feel like the chatter around Assassin's Creed Shadows is even like it was with Odyssey and Origin.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Chatter. I don't know. Success in terms of sales and stuff. I don't know if they've. I mean, we're probably waiting for it here, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But like from all the things that they've. From the signs that we've gotten the. The, you know, one off statements here and there, I'm under the impression the Assassin's Creed Shadows did pretty well.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gettys
But again, pretty well in comparison to what good enough for them to survive when they're not putting out other games. I don't know it. Remember this too. Bless they didn't have Ubisoft forward this year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And like, good, because don't put out a bad forward. But if they didn't put out a forward, it's because they have nothing to talk about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I was gonna say, what are they gonna put out? Like what is. Yeah, what are they.
Tim Gettys
What are the upcoming Avatar dlc. Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, I know you mentioned, you know, Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia. Do we believe that those are coming next year?
Tim Gettys
No, I don't. I. I think that the. Pull the ripcord. The next one they have and they're running out of them. But it's Black Flag remake. Yeah, I think that that is. At any point they'll shit it out the way that they have to. And what I mean by that is if they get desperate enough, they'll put it out in very bad shape.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Mm.
Tim Gettys
Just because they need that money. God, I hope this way about them, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh. Like PS4. PS4 generation Ubisoft was locked in. Like I would. I would use the word locked in to describe them. You know what I mean? Or Assassin's Creed Origins and odyssey fucking.
Tim Gettys
Rainbow Six defined the PS4 and Xbox One launch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Right. Like Ubisoft was there and they had.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like the quirky stuff that out of Light.
Tim Gettys
They had Rayman origins in Legend.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Which were killer games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They had trials and I know, like some of these aren't money makers, but guess what?
Tim Gettys
It's.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They were in a position where they could put out these quirky games that the audience would love.
Tim Gettys
We. We're talking about Ubisoft now the way we talked about Capcom a decade ago. So there is hope, but we're in a different world. You know what I mean? Capcom turned it around. Like, when you look at Capcom and its franchises, like, there was a time where it was like, I can't believe how much they're squandering their IP and what they have.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What turned it around for Capcom, was it Resident Evil?
Tim Gettys
It was a lot, man. It was really like a. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did it start a Resident Evil 2 remake?
Tim Gettys
I'd start with Resident Evil 7.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, 7, you're right. Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But all the Resident Evil, the new ones, the remakes, the. You know, just getting into. Why am I not thinking of anything. Monster Hunter, obviously, world being like such a. That's probably the. Actually the real starting point of, like, let's write the ship. And they've been pretty flawless since then. And flawless includes trying some things out that don't work or trying some things out that work, but not like, greatest scale ever. Like a primal exoprimal or Kunitsugami. Yeah. Goddess. Right. Like, things like that. It's like, all right, cool. Like, they have the luxury to do that stuff because they have such consistent wins now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My thing there is when we transition to Ubisoft, what is Ubisoft's Resident Evil? What is their Monster Hunter? Does Ubisoft have a 9 in them?
Tim Gettys
That's the thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And Ubisoft put out a 9 out.
Tim Gettys
Of 10, I don't think, actually. I know we wouldn't have thought Capcom did after Resident Evil 6.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gettys
But the gap between Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7 was longer than even the. The long gaps between Assassin's Creed games. It's a different game. But, like, I'm being incredibly hopeful.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I'm just. You're trying to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're trying to paint. You're doing the Doctor Strange thing in fucking Infinity War, where he's looking at all the different dimensions and being like, there's one. One, though. Yeah, yeah, get to that one.
Tim Gettys
But yeah, it's not looking. Not looking too good. What are the rabbits up to?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're scared, lonely. I mean, they put out Mario and Rabbids, too. That seems like it didn't hit the expectations.
Tim Gettys
It didn't. Yeah. That's another one. This is the second time I'm saying this. This show. But if they had saved Mario and.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Rabbids, if they saved it for sweet.
Tim Gettys
The second one for Switch 2, it do pretty well. I guarantee it would have been exceeded expectations.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What do you think is the last Ubisoft game that. That hit expectations? Shadows before Shadows. Since we don't know for sure.
Tim Gettys
I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Chat let me know if there's I Lost Crown was at nine, I guess. But like, I guess I'm saying a nine in conjunction with also being a sales success.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. A nine for one of the. The heavy hitter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
A nine for a heavy hitter. A nine where it matters. Not that I'm saying Lost Crime doesn't matter, but they shut down that studio.
Tim Gettys
I know. God damn it. But no, look, the, the thing about the Resident Evils and the Monster Hunters is those were nines and those were highest selling in the franchise. Highest selling Capcom game. Like it was like yes. Success in every metric. Right. And Community loved it. It's just like all that stuff and.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All that stuff worked in conjunction.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They were that well selling because they were nines because they're fantastic games.
Tim Gettys
Let's move on to story number four. Death Stranding Animated Series from Hideo Kojima set at Disney this comes from Abit Rahman at the Hollywood Reporter. Death Stranding fans rejoice. Hideo Kojima's groundbreaking video game franchise is set to expand with an all new animated series heading to Disney plus. At Disney's Asia Pacific Originals Content Showcase in Hong Kong, Kojima made a surprise appearance to announce the new show Death Stranding Isolations, which is a working title scheduled to hit Disney plus in 2027. Speaking through a translator, Kojima said that the series will be pretty mind blowing and that he wanted to expand his franchise into anime as it would allow him to do things you can only do with animation. He added the series will have new and different characters. Asked why he was working with Disney, Kojima said he was a longtime fan of the company and worked with them on the 2023 documentary Hideo Kojima Connecting Worlds. He added that Disney approached him about the project while working together on the dock. Disney plus also provided a brief outline for the series, saying, set in the world of Death Stranding, Death Stranding Isolations will tell a completely new story separate from that of the video games. The upcoming series will follow a young man and woman as they set out on an adventure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So one, I'm so interested in this as somebody who really likes Death Stranding, as somebody who loves Kojima. Right. Like, I'm very interested in this. A few thoughts, one in the way that we're talking about Horizon getting all these different games. Death Stranding has so much, so much. They're getting an A24 movie. There was an anime that was just announced not that long ago. Now we have the key art for a different animated coming to Disney plus because of the synergy with Hideo Kojima and Disney plus with the documentary. Here's my question. And it has less to do with death stranding and more to do with Kojima. Do you think that death stranding is getting all of this less so for death training, more so for Kojima? Like, do you think that if Kojima was in ownership of a Metal Gear Solid, it'd be Metal Gear Solid, I'd be getting all this shit. Or like a different Kojima ip? I asked that because death straining is just so fucking weird.
Tim Gettys
And I think that. That it's a complicated question that I. I think it's a little bit of yes and yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Like, I really do think it. It. It. Yes, it's because it's Kojima and it's because he owns it and it's the baby and all that stuff. But also I do think the weirdness of death stranding leads it lends it a ability to be adapted in different ways and kind of get geared in those different ways and have it still feel death stranding, you know. And there's been a lot of. I. I think that this has a chance to be pretty good. I'm not. Not. It's not a guarantee. But with Kojima being involved and on top of that, like, we've seen Cyberpunk Edge Runners and other examples of anime adaptations of video games or, you know, related things that aren't directly adapting it. We just talked about Fallout. That's not animated, but, like, it's just in the world of Fallout. Like, I think that the world of death stranding is so interesting. And as somebody that doesn't really enjoy playing death Stranding, but I'm into the weirdness to an extent. It's like, that's cool. I'm way more interested in the movie than I am These. This. This seems like a step or two too far for me. Yeah. But I do think that death stranding has continued to surprise me as a franchise and how much people care. And I think that the. Oh, they only care because it's Kojima has worn off after death stranding. Two deaths ready to on the beach actually coming out not that long after Death Stranding 1 and being as good as it was by all accounts, I'm like, damn, Death stranding got the stuff.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's just one of those things where death straining. I love death straining. I'm surprised by how much other people love that stranding. Like, it's such a weird, like, Kind of abstract and kind of like, I mean not even kind of very nonsensical franchise that in a way to your point, kind of lends itself to being adapted because you can do many different things with it. But I think on the opposite side, I think does the opposite as far as the franchise ability. And when I say franchise building, I guess I mean like turning this into something where it is, oh, you see an animation, oh, I gotta watch it. Because it's death stranding. Oh, it's a movie, of course. Like the fact that it's becoming this thing that's being spun off into all these different things. I guess I see it almost as a. Kojima has been in this industry for so long. Kojima is so highly revered by all different sides of creative media, of art. You know, you listen to rappers rap about Kojima. Like the amount of rappers that I've heard dropped name dropped Kojima in a bar. Or actors you interview that love Kojima or all the pictures you'll see of actors coming by the Kojima productions. There is a reference for him. And I think post leaving Konami, he's been able to live that out. He's been able to really, I think heighten what his presence is in like film industry, Hollywood and things outside of just video games. And I think because he does so well in nurturing those relationships, people want to adapt Kojima things because they have such a high reverence and the only IP he has right now for them to adapt is death stranding.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And so I wonder if it is a thing of like, you know, once we get OD out the door, once we get fizzing out the door, now we can like have some variety, but we're just stuck with so many death stranding things because everybody wants to work with Kojima and he only has that straining to give.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, that. That is interesting. I. A different point in the same conversation there is like I'm happy it's not Metal Gear. Like Metal Gear, I feel like is the type of thing that I would love to see an adaptation of. I don't want to see 10 million spin offs of Metal Gear. Like, I think that that dilutes what that is and what makes it it special. Because I think that what makes Metal Gear and its story special is the how dialed in and specific the world and plot and characters are. And the more that you add to it, the less focus it has. And then I just think it gets incredibly messy. And I think even the games got to that point at. At a. I think metal gear solid 5 is a perfect example of what I'm saying. Right. But yeah, it's. It's going to be interesting Fizz. Going to be very, very interesting to keep an eye on of how much of a direct Metal Gear clone is it and how much is it just a new thing that happens to be a stealth action game?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. You know, I. My prediction for Physician it's the last hurrah. It is the old maybe this is okay. This is me being hype, right? This is me letting my. Letting the hype go for it.
Tim Gettys
Why not?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I want it to be the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience. I want it to be Kojima being like I'm going out with a bang. This is going to be Metal Gear Solid ultimate without it actually being Metal Gear Solid. But it is me returning to the greatest hits and giving you everything you loved about my biggest series packed into one package. That's my. That's my opium copious. That's my fucking, you know, story number five.
Tim Gettys
Lies of Company is somehow making five games. Only one of them is the sequel. This comes from Ethan Gotch at Kotaku. In a growing field of copycat souls like Lies of P stands apart as one of the best. This year's Overture DLC proved the game wasn't a fluke. And now the publisher behind the Pinocchio Punk Action RPGs confirmed it has a whopping five games currently in various stage of development and only one of them slides a P2. The South Korean mobile gaming giant Neowiz's upcoming slate was outlined in its latest earnings report as part of a multi phase plan. They talked about Life simulation new project Life simulation coming to PC and console Survival action adventure new project coming to PC and console the license sequel which is a Souls like RPG PC console New project by Sung Hojin which is a narrative based RPG coming to PC console New project by Kaylee Sounds like RPG coming to PC console.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Cool. I mean, I love that. I mean nuts. But also, you know, I love that they're making moves as a publisher. Really looking forward to Eliza P sequel. That game was a surprise in how good it was and I think anybody who finished Liza P finishes it and goes damn, I want to see what that next game looks like. They finish on such a strong note, leading you into desiring a sequel. Very interested to see if they can replicate the impact of Liza P in these other games. I think, you know, there's a lot of variety here when you talk about a survival action adventure, a life simul simulation, but then yeah, they also talk about other. Another narrative based RPG and another Souls like. And I'm very interested to see what another souls like from that same publisher looks like. I think that has potential to like, really. I think define that publisher as like maybe another bleeding souls like publisher if they're able to find another thing of gold.
Tim Gettys
Without spoiling anything. What Andy has told me about what is being teed up for the Liza P sequel, I'm like, that world, that idea is one of the few things I'm like, I gotta try that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Have you seen the. Have you seen the ending?
Tim Gettys
I actually haven't seen it. After this, I'm gonna look it up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm gonna see the.
Tim Gettys
Okay. Oh, because that's because I love the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Idea when I tell you because I beat Liza P during the review stage and I beat it, I believe, before Andy and I was just not expecting what they ended.
Tim Gettys
It's impossible too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes. And so when I got there, I thought I was dreaming. I was like, there's no way. I need to talk to somebody about this. But I couldn't talk to anybody about.
Tim Gettys
I hope we actually get it. I hope we get it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We will.
Tim Gettys
But I hope that, though.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, I think it will be you. You can't. You have to.
Tim Gettys
Story number six. Netflix is bringing Red Dead Redemption to mobile. This comes from Ash Paris at the Verge. Another one of Rockstar's greatest hits is coming to Netflix on December 4th. You'll be able to play Red Dead Redemption and its zombified standalone DLC Undead Nightmare for free as long as you have a Netflix subscription. The news broke when prolific video game newshound Wario 64 found listings for the game on the iOS and Android store. And it seems like Netflix isn't the only one that'll let you ride horses with John Marston. Wario 64 also found Red Dead redemptions appeared on the ESRB website with ratings for the PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2. No word yet on when those versions will be released. Is this kind of what I was just joking about with Ubisoft, with the pull the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake lever where they're like, GTA 6 is delayed. We need money, baby. Yeah, put Red Dead Redemption out again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, put it out. Give it to, you know, license it to Netflix. Let's put out GTA 5 again on PS Plus. Like, let's. We're pulling all the triggers. Yeah, they're doing it.
Tim Gettys
That's interesting, man. God. Red Dead Redemption 2 Getting 60 frames per second one day. Really big News that'd be so big to Roger Pokorny. But bless. If I wanted to know about something smaller, where would I look?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

Say hello to Pikachu. Pokemon tweets today. A pale Pikachu whose fur is a mysterious color. Its drooping ears somehow make it seem a little feeble. Who else is already obsessed?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's happening here?
Tim Gettys
What's happening here? Pacopia. All this morning they've been tweeting Pokemon we know, but in different ways than we are used to them. There was a snorlax covered in moss and they called him Moss Lax.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Are these not just Mega Evolutions?
Tim Gettys
No, no. These are just. I don't know. But I don't like this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You don't like Pikachu?
Tim Gettys
I don't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You're already obsessed.
Tim Gettys
I am not. There's something that feels creepy about it and I. I just don't like it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, this is really funny.
Tim Gettys
There we go. Dbrand announces Companion Cube for Steam Machine coming 2026.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Have you seen this?
Tim Gettys
Oh, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dude, dude. We're cooking.
Tim Gettys
We're cooking.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're cooking. This is what it looks like. This is what launching the future, but also launching a new console looks like.
Tim Gettys
I love it. From game developer British labor union Independent Workers of Great Britain. IWGB is escalating its legal fight with GTA 6 developer Rockstar over the firing of over 30 union members on November 2nd. It has now issued formal legal claims against Rockstar for its actions, bringing the dispute before the British courts.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Release Red Dead Redemption. That's what they said.
Tim Gettys
That's what they said. From Automaton. Krafton launched a voluntary resignation program open to all employees starting November 12, as reported by Business Korea. This move appears to be part of Krafton's real Org efforts following the recently announced announced decision to become a quote, AI first game company.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Jesus. Here's my thing. If I could get like a Thanos snap ability. I know there's like a lot of like beneficial uses for AI technology, but I, I all the gen AI stuff, if I could just snap that out of existence and like erase people's ability.
Tim Gettys
To create that again, it'd be nice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, dude, it's so annoying.
Tim Gettys
The Indie Game awards are set for December 18th at 3:30pm Pacific from Eurogamer. Arc Raiders has secretly had duo queues for days and will be fully supported going forward.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Nice. This is what I want.
Tim Gettys
Silent hill F patch 1.1 is now available. Adds casual difficulty and lets you skip select sections in New Game plus and more. Riz Dungeon Skeleton Key to My Heart. Launches on PC in 2026.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah, brother.
Tim Gettys
And then five more Blizzard titles got added to Xbox Retro Classics. RPM Racing, Rock and Roll Racing, the Lost vikings. Lost Vikings 2, Norse by Norse west and Blackthorne.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you know what Xbox Retro Classics is?
Tim Gettys
I don't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't either.
Tim Gettys
I also don't think I know a single one of these video games. If you asked me is the Lost Vikings a game, I'd go, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This would have been a great game showdown round. Because Norse by Norse west does not sound real. That sounds like Kevin put that in there as a joke.
Tim Gettys
And that's it for Super Chats. Let's see what we news wrong. Oh yeah. For we news, I was looking at the word super chat.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. That's how it goes.
Tim Gettys
Let's see. Jordy writes in Bless. Can I get your glasses for a second?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure.
Tim Gettys
The title of Games Daily is wrong since the MMO is developed, published and was released by NCsoft, not PlayStation.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tim, that's the funniest thing you've ever done in your fucking life. What the fuck?
Tim Gettys
Disco says. I think y' all were talking about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've never seen you get so into character and fucking nail it. What the fuck?
Tim Gettys
I'm fucking crying just based on your reaction. It's hard for me to read. I think y' all are talking about two different Persia games. During the the pop Roguelite discussion, Tim mentioned it launching an early access that was Rogue Prince of Persia. Then before shuttering the team that was Lost Crown. Sorry, I was kind of jumping back and forth. I was saying that like it was a bad idea for them to put out the Lost crown and then months later put out a very similar looking 2D Prince of Persia in early access. Like they just. They doomed Rogue Prince of Persia from the start was my point.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And to kind of correct the person who said the PlayStation thing, right. Like it's still PlayStation Studios announcement. And so like for me in the headline, I'm like well, PlayStation brand. So. And y' all recognize. I won't say y'.
Greg Miller
All.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I guess the Internet and algorithms and the way people look at headlines, they recognize PlayStation for like a gaming YouTube video more than Sony and so easier for me to put PlayStation.
Tim Gettys
It's the whole GTA 6 thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Bander says Tim says the gap between Resident Evil 6 and 7 was longer than the gap between Assassin's Creed. However, Assassin's Creed, Valhalla and Assassin's creed. Shadows had 1591 days between them. Did we forget about Mirage? Did we?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did we the world forgot about it.
Tim Gettys
They did put a note, both franchises had spin off games between them. Revelations and Mirage. Etc. We have Barrett over there. Barrett is not a spin off.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Barrett says Mirage is not a spin off. It was just a smaller title. What are you trying to say about shorter titles? Trying to say that shorter games don't matter as much as the 40 hour games.
Tim Gettys
Oh, and Jesus says Xbox Retro Classics is mostly old Acatar games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why is it a thing I. We don't. I know we don't have time right now to look into it because game.
Tim Gettys
Pass is $30 now. Bless. That's why they needed to say you get fucking lost. Vikings north by Northwest.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, I like I thought I slipped into a different timeline when I saw like the wario64 tweet or whatever it was. Oh, these are your Xbox Classics for the. For the month. What?
Tim Gettys
Oh man. Well everybody, that has been kind of funny. Games daily. We're about to do Gamescast 10 games to get to know Joey, Noel, Barrett, Courtney, and maybe even cool Greg. Bless has been a good one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's been a fantastic.
Tim Gettys
Thank you for joining me today. Thank you for. We have a full day of stuff and until next time. Love you all. Goodbye. That was a good one.

Episode: PlayStation Reveals Horizon MMO!
Hosts: Tim Gettys, Blessing Adeoye Jr., Greg Miller
Main Theme: PlayStation reveals the Horizon MMO, with the team offering deep discussion and reactions on the announcement, plus reactions to the Fallout Season 2 trailer, Ubisoft’s financial trouble, and the future of Death Stranding adaptations.
This episode dives into the surprise reveal of Horizon Steel Frontiers, a new MMO set in the popular Horizon franchise, developed by Sony with NCSoft and targeted at mobile/PC rather than PlayStation consoles. The crew analyzes the announcement, what it means for the franchise and fans, and discusses related industry news including a new Fallout TV trailer, Ubisoft’s precarious position, and the ever-expanding Kojima universe.
(See: 05:43–25:56)
Announcement Recap:
The team unpacks Sony’s official announcement of Horizon Steel Frontiers, a full MMORPG created with NCSoft for PC, iOS, and Android.
Initial Reactions:
Tim and Blessing express both intrigue and surprise at the console’s omission, highlighting “It’s not what you think” regarding platform and gameplay.
"You watch this trailer, there are so many things pulled directly out of Monster Hunter."
(11:06)
Community Concerns:
Blessing calls out that the core Horizon experience centers on story and character—especially Aloy and the pre/post-apocalyptic history—not just the tribal or crafting elements.
Greg admits,
"I like Horizon as a story ... but I don't know if I want to live in this part of the Horizon world."
(13:56)
“Console Identity Crisis”:
The move to mobile/PC and skipping PlayStation feels off-brand:
"The worst part of this as far as what fans come to expect from a Horizon franchise thing ... It's not going to PlayStation."
(11:39, Blessing)
Tim speculates this is PlayStation’s way to broaden the IP’s global reach, especially in Asia, and to “raise brand awareness for Horizon.”
"...trying to raise brand awareness for Horizon." (17:20)
Market Strategy:
The team argues this move expands the franchise for new audiences but might not appeal to existing hands-on console fans.
"I think this is for an audience of people that maybe aren't console gamers at all." (23:02, Tim)
Franchise Saturation:
Blessing worries about “too much Horizon”: VR spinoffs, LEGO games, and now multiple multiplayer offshoots.
Gorilla’s Separate Multiplayer Project Confirmed:
Sony confirms Gorilla’s console multiplayer Horizon project is still in development, with speculation it’ll have a different, potentially more youth-oriented art style.
AI Usage in Development:
Blessing surfaces news that Horizon Steel Frontiers will use AI heavily, from NPC behaviors to art creation. The irony isn’t lost given Horizon’s anti-tech themes:
"Why is it all the games about the perils of technology using AI for their creation?" (28:12, Blessing)
(31:41–36:38)
The duo live-react to the much-anticipated trailer drop for Fallout Season 2, highlighting new story details, the dynamic between Ella Purnell’s and Walton Goggins’ characters, and increased production scale.
Both exhibit real excitement:
"I cannot wait for this. Especially as a Fallout fan, they're giving me what I want..." (34:12, Blessing)
Notable moments:
(37:01–47:49)
News: Ubisoft postpones earnings and halts share trading, raising industry alarm.
Dark humor:
"Ubisoft closing...I’ve never, never once considered it until you just said that right now." (39:57, Tim)
Worries about industry consolidation, layoffs, and poor leadership at the top.
Parallels with Capcom’s revival through Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter; hope flickers for Ubisoft but the crew is skeptical.
(47:49–53:52)
Hideo Kojima announces Death Stranding Isolations (working title) at Disney+.
Blessing considers if this is truly about Death Stranding, or more about Kojima’s cachet:
"Do you think Death Stranding is getting all of this less so for Death Stranding, more so for Kojima?" (49:48)
Tim sees the power in adapting weird, open-ended IP like Death Stranding, but admits,
"...the weirdness of Death Stranding lends it an ability to be adapted in different ways." (49:53)
Lies of P Publisher Neowiz Expanding:
Five new games, only one directly a Lies of P sequel; the team praises Liza P, wonders if the studio can “bottle lightning” again. (55:17–56:54)
Red Dead Redemption (w/ Undead Nightmare) Coming to Netflix Mobile:
Discussion on whether rereleases are now "break glass in case of emergency" funding levers, like Ubisoft's Black Flag remake tease. (56:54–58:01)
Quick Hits/We News:
Pikachu variant teases, dbrand’s new “Companion Cube” for Steam Machine, union news at Rockstar, Krafton's “AI-first” strategy and layoffs, and five Blizzard titles added to Xbox Retro Classics. (58:09–61:00)
"I don't like this. There's something that feels creepy about it and I. I just don't like it." (58:43, Tim)
On Horizon MMO’s genre blend:
"There are so many things pulled directly out of Monster Hunter...I'm not knocking making a Monster Hunter clone – I like Monster Hunter quite a bit."
– Greg Miller (11:06)
On MMO for mobile/PC, not PlayStation:
"Tell me you're making a Horizon MMO that's not going to PlayStation— I think that rubs fans the wrong way."
– Blessing (11:39)
On saturation of franchise spinoffs:
"I don't need two Horizon multiplayer things. I don't need a Horizon VR game. I feel like I'm getting Horizon left and right in a way that I did not ask for."
– Blessing (23:23)
On Ubisoft’s predicament:
"I don't know what a good solution is. Ubisoft closing is going to lead to layoffs. Ubisoft continuing as it is is going to lead to layoffs..."
– Blessing (39:13)
On industry ironies:
"Why is it all the games about the perils of technology using AI for their creation?"
– Blessing (28:12)
The hosts maintain a lively, sarcastic, and enthusiastically informed tone, frequently poking fun at themselves, each other, and the industry’s quirks and foibles. They balance passionate gamer perspective with critical analysis and plenty of inside jokes.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone invested in PlayStation, Horizon, or the evolving gaming industry. The crew provides sharp analysis on why Sony is venturing into mobile/MMO territory, the risks of franchise overexposure, and the shifting global strategies of AAA publishers. Alongside, they voice clear skepticism and hopes for troubled giants like Ubisoft, all wrapped up with trademark Kinda Funny humor and chemistry.
