We Just Live reacted to the PlayStation State of Play for February 2025. And now we're gonna break it all down because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. What's up? And welcome back to Kinda Funny Games Daily for February 11, 2025. Of course, I am your host, Tim Gettys. That's not right. It's February 12th everybody. I'm working off an old dock here. You know what I'm talking about. I'm Tim Gettys. I'm joined by Blessing Adio Ye Jr. Snowbike Mike. What up Tim and Andy Cortez.
Tim Gettys
Hello, Games Daily.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, you know, hey, we're just trying to find the best place to fit things. Sony kind of surprise announced to stay to play yesterday, so we had to shuffle the schedule around quite a bit. But here we are now on Kind of Funny Games Daily where each and every weekday we get together to talk about all the video game news that you need to know. We do it live on YouTube and Twitch, but you can of course watch later. You could also watch or listen on podcast platforms depending on what it is, whether it's Spotify, Spotify or Apple and all of that stuff. If you wanted to get the Kind of Funny membership to support us even more, that'd be super, super cool of you. And also it would get you the shows ad free. You could watch live as we record them and you get a daily exclusive Greg Way today. What was the Greg Way Bless.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Well, we'll see if there's no technical difficulties, the Greg Way will be a magic match between me and the one and only still Mike. Mike.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
For our trip to Chicago for Magic Con. So we've been playing a lot of magic together. Bless built me a deck last week on stream and so we've been testing that deck out in every single game we finish up and we kind of have a postgame of like, how'd that go? What did. What were the misses? What were the hits? So, yeah, we gave that to you on the today's Greg Way. And of course we'll see you out in Chicago next weekend.
Snowbike Mike
Of course. Shout out to our Patreon producers, Delaney Twining, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Karen Lindner. We appreciate all of you so very much today. We're brought to you by Rocket Money, Shady Rays and Better Help. But we'll tell you all about that later. Stout with what is and forever will be the Roper Report.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Because he laughed.
Snowbike Mike
Because I had a moment where I was like thinking. I was like, what show is this again? I don't know, you know, it's a little bit weird how many stories. I don't know. We're just talking about what we just saw. A lot of games. Cool games, everybody.
Tim Gettys
Oh, Andy, Andy. I'm in that new Housemark game profile.
Snowbike Mike
You need to work on that one.
Tim Gettys
Andy.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That's that.
Tim Gettys
It's been a while since you've done your Andy. I nailed the Andy part.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
What nationality is he?
Tim Gettys
Raul, that's how. Raul.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Wait, what accent is that?
Tim Gettys
Oh, Andy. Hey, bro. He's British.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, he's.
Tim Gettys
That doesn't sound British higher than you.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Guys get like a hint of Scottish.
Tim Gettys
I think I was doing my penguin a whole lot today. You know, here's the thing. Big, you know, it's a good.
Andy Cortez
It was a good state of play.
Tim Gettys
It's a good state of play. That's a little trump, a little chubby.
Snowbike Mike
It always goes a little trouble when you go penguin too long. But everybody, we just watched the PlayStation State of Play for February 2025. Over 40 minutes of unique and creative games from all around the world. A whole bunch of stuff we had like, I don't know, it seems like 20 games shown, something like that. Before we break down everything game by game, remember everyone, if you have any questions, comments, anything you can super chat them in. Let us know what you thought of this state of play. What are you most excited for? What are you upset? Wasn't there. Etc, etc. Bless. What did you think of this data play?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I thought it was great. I thought this was a really great mixture of games we haven't seen before. Games that are of varying sizes. Whether you want to talk about indie, whether you want to talk about creative and unique and whether you want to talk about like bigger surprises. Right. Like some of those third party games that came out of nowhere like Tides of Annihilation like games like that I feel like do a great job of making wowing us, making us go what the fuck is this Locking in and then yeah introducing us to a world. A game that we haven't seen before. I think ending with SOS was unexpected for I think how we usually perceive the earlier in the year state of plays. I wasn't really expecting a play big PlayStation first party thing and so I think that showing up it looking so cool. Awesome. So yeah I'm, I'm, I'm pleasantly surprised by this one Mikey.
Andy Cortez
Well said. Bless. I'm right there with bless. It was a great PlayStation State of Play. They didn't have me in the first half. I was kind of yawning going ooh, a lot of these titles aren't for me. But that second half they really picked it up. They showed a lot of cool new interesting titles that wasn't on my radar that now are on my radar. And man, 2025 and beyond we are gaming Andy Cortez.
Tim Gettys
I would give this like a 9. This is an amazing for me if we're doing review scores I because there was so many things that I wasn't expecting to see and you know, getting Liza P DLC in addition to all these awesome looking action games and I'm sure there's some people who don't give a about these games. It just becomes noise. But to me I'm like man, all of these look awesome and I want to play all of these. And then ending with you know, this amazing reveal of Rahul Kohli in SOS this new game from Housemark. And we've always been wondering, we've heard their interviews, we've seen Housemark say we're not working on a Returnal 2 and it's like ah, but why not? That game was really really awesome. And to see that we're getting something just extremely similar from what we saw on that little tiny glimpse. We kind of, we got to assume it's going to look and feel a lot like it. Especially with that sort of spiral of projectile. You know, things you got to avoid from, from these bosses or whatever. I, I just cannot be more jazzed about this state of play and especially Since State of Plays can have a tendency to kind of, you know, let you down every now and then. But I. I was blown away by this Liza P. Dlc. Amazing video games all around.
Snowbike Mike
I'm kind of right there. It's like I'm struggling to realize or just to think.
Tim Gettys
Struggling to hate on it.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, I'm starting to think of, like, this isn't a nine for me. I think there are a couple little things. Like seeing Monster Hunter Wilds again, it's like, okay, we freaking get.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It started off extremely slow.
Snowbike Mike
I understand why they would do that. Right.
Tim Gettys
If this were an hour and a half and had a lot of padding like that. Maybe 40 minutes.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, just a little over 40. The amount of games shown. And again, when we talk about showcases, I always talk about I want to see surprises. I want to get answers to questions that we're asking, give me release dates, give me updates on games we know about, and also give us some surprise new titles from teams that we may or may not even know. And this kind of had all of that, like, I struggle to think of a showcase that had this many release date announcements. Like, they gave us a lot of stuff. Like you said it earlier, bless. We now have a year fleshed out for what games are. Are coming. And there's a lot like it pretty much every single month had something announced in the state of play, which I think is really, really cool. And a lot of it's very exciting. I think that we often see State of Plays and it's like, all right, cool. This isn't for me, but maybe that is or whatever. This, I think, kind of had a little something for everybody. It might have, like, leaned a little bit more into the action side of things, but I think that that also represents the majority of gamers at this point in 2025. So I. I think stem to stern. This had a. A lot of major wins for me and big surprises. Actually seeing more on Imusha and it looked awesome. Very stoked for that. Shinobi looks absolutely incredible. You better not try to steal it from me, from Fantasy Critic, because I'm going to go for it. I mean, I don't know why you.
Tim Gettys
Just said that publicly.
Snowbike Mike
It. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I didn't even think about bidding for shinobi. I'm bidding a lot of money on Shinobi.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, I'm bidding for Shinobi, man. But yeah, getting big things like Liza P. DLC and then of course the new house mark at the end with Raul, all that stuff. So Freaking cool.
Tim Gettys
A great look at Hell Is Us, which is another game that I'm.
Snowbike Mike
Super question. Right? And for me I've been asking where's Midnight Walk? And now we know where it is. May 8th. That sounds like a great release date for that. Like at this, this was a great State of Play because I think even we often say that a lot of the State of plays miss the opportunity to market games that are coming out soon. And it's like why didn't they talk about this? Or why didn't they talk about that? They kind of did here, like Split Fiction and all that stuff. Like even though we know about them, like this is a great marketing opportunity to like showcase it alongside other games. And overall I feel like this is a not just a step in the right direction for State of Play. I think this is like a, like a dash in the right direction. So good for you.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, this feels like I think they've found their flow for what State of Play is and what I think it should be because I think for me there were quite a few years there where I was so down on State of Plays because it felt like one after the other, it felt like we're showing up to just be let down by announcements that I think just didn't do much for, for the audience. I think now when I look at the last few, I, I, I don't watch the State of Play and go, this is one of the greatest presentations ever. But I think I've resolved on the fact that State of Play isn't. They're not meant to be the greatest showcases ever.
Snowbike Mike
Right?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, I don't know and maybe I don't. Me and Tim go back and forth on this right of like, will we get back to the late 20, 2010's PlayStation of getting those E3 showcases that were cinematic and you get Ghost of Tsushima followed by Horizon, followed by these things. Right. I think if we do get back to that, that's going to be a summer PlayStation showcase ordeal. State of Plays, I don't think are that yet and nor are they meant to be. That in a way where I look at the chat and a lot of chat is like very upset or very let down by the state of play. And I come at this from a place of not necessarily knowing how to reckon that with, I guess our perception of it because I mentioned to you on KFG and before this of like, yeah, I'm coming at this with low expectations and I think that's just because I know what State of Plays are meant to be. And even for those low expectations, I come out of this. And if I'm getting giving a score right, I'm giving an 8 out of 10. I think this is great. But I also, I don't know, I'm in a place where it's hard for me to be mad about something that feels like it's doing exactly what it's meant to do.
Snowbike Mike
Right.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
This is the exact kind of show that Stay Play wants to be.
Snowbike Mike
And I think bigger than that for me, why I'm as high as as I am is that it didn't have a lot of things that I expected and instead had a lot of things that I didn't. And like that's fun. You know, it's like this didn't have Forza, this didn't have Indiana Jones, this didn't have Ghosts even. Which like I'm surprised by. Like there's still going to be announcements coming soon that fill this year out even more for PlayStation having like a very solid lineup. And not just PlayStation, a lot of these games are coming to PC as well. I'm sure a ton of them are also coming to Xbox. Like this is just.
Tim Gettys
If you go by good year for.
Snowbike Mike
Games, man, if you go by the.
Tim Gettys
Numbers and told me before I saw this, there's going to be at least over six to seven video games that look awesome as shit and one really mind blowing first party reveal like for a state of play. I'll take that all day, dog. It sounds great and I really enjoyed this. I'm really happy about this one.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. So let's, let's get into everything. Let's just go through it as it kind of as they announced it so chronologically here, starting off with Monster Hunter Wilds, they. I guess the news here was the first update, free update will be in spring and then the second one will be in summer. You guys have anything to say about this?
Andy Cortez
No, we're looking forward to it at the end of the month. We've been there, done that. But a nice little update for players out there to say, hey, there's something new coming soon when you get this game. So that's cool.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, I. I think it would have been dope to start with something a bit more exciting. But even looking through, I'm sure as we go through it, something might stick out to me. But I don't know what you would have started with. Maybe Animusha. The new trailer for Animusha 2 would have been a better starter. But even so, like you're going to see this during the state of play because guess what? This game is out in the next week or so.
Snowbike Mike
Right?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
And so you want to get that last marketing push for Capcom and Monster Hunter Wilds. You want to remind people that hey, this is coming. And then also I think having new information for it being that you're getting those spring updates. I don't know if Mitsu. It's exciting.
Tim Gettys
I don't know if there's a better way to kind of start this off though. Just for personal expectations. We see here, we're going to start off our state of play for February 2025 with a game you've seen 12 times already. And that makes me go, oh, here we know we're going to be getting this. It's going to be a lot of stuff we've already seen. And you know, to say that an awesome. You know, if you were going to be disappointed by this, let's sort of ratchet everything up from here on out and show you a lot of things you haven't seen before. But yeah, it's. It's more Monster Hunter.
Andy Cortez
It just wasn't their best trailer. They've had better showings of Monster Hunter and I think they've. They missed the wow factor on this one.
Snowbike Mike
I don't know if you can just didn't punch.
Tim Gettys
I don't know if you could do that anymore. Like I. But we've seen it so many times in different iterations, whether it's a story thing with a narrator, whether we get, you know, little voice acting hints here and there. I, I don't know how else they can feed us this same meal. You know, it's just like, here's more of it and here's the date. Here's a reminder, essentially.
Snowbike Mike
And the thing is, it's Monster Hunter, right? Like it's a known quantity that people are going to love. So the meal is a steak. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, this is like, I, I'm with you on that. Even though I, I personally could care less. Next up though, we got Shinobi Art of Vengeance. Something I could care about.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, dude.
Snowbike Mike
So much. Coming August 29th. I've been hyped for this since they first showed it at game awards last year. I want to say it was when they showed all the SEGA games.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Game Wars 2023.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, exactly. And I'm so stoked for this, man. Like, this looks like such a Tim Getty's ass game, man. This is a Prince of Persia Lost Crown style thing with a freaking amazing art Style. So, yeah, I think this is gonna bang.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, this is gonn of really challenging traversal moments. Looks really cool.
Snowbike Mike
And yeah, in the chat, Maris is saying this and Ninja Guy and Ragebound in the same year. Like, yeah, man, that's freaking. So cool. But I'm so impressed with the art style of this because it looks like things we've seen a million times, but better there. So much better.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like this shot right here. Like, a lot of these backgrounds just look incredible and have a lot going on. As this trailer started in my mind, to be frank, I had like, new Grounds final boss. Like, those words in my head of like, all right, cool. Like, you have that 2D almost flashlight art style, but the more you see, the more you're like, oh, but there's a lot going on here. Like, they really put a lot of. A lot of talent into this.
Snowbike Mike
Then next up, we had Sonic Racing Crossworlds going to network test February 21st. Kind of not what I expected so far, at least in interesting way. Cross worlds we talked about, kind of implied it was going to be more of like a, like, Sega All Stars type. Let's get everyone together. But it seems to be more using the. The rings from the Sonic movies that, like, kind of teleport you to, like, different areas, like having the course go through different places. How do you feel about that? Bless.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I'm. I'm fine with it. Right. Like, I think the Sega brand is interesting because I think they could pull off another SEGA All Stars type thing. But when you look at their last racing game or their last car racer, it was a Sonic one too, Right? Like the Sonic team racing, I believe it was. So, like, I think I kind of expected this when you have Sonic being the main thing in the title as opposed to sega. But yeah, the Crossworlds, I, at the very least would have expected some crossover. And I think maybe that could be dlc or maybe that is in the final game. You might get maybe a handful of crossover characters. But even if we don't get those, like, I look at this trailer and I'm like, all right, this looks like a fun kart racer. I like the. I like the Sonic movie interpretation of the rings. I think that's really fun and I think that's going to lead to it feeling and playing like a unique kart racer.
Snowbike Mike
Right.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, the tough thing about this genre is that Nintendo has such a chokehold on it, especially when you talk about Mario Kart and a Mario Kart coming out.
Snowbike Mike
It's not like a Mario Kart's coming out anytime soon.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, exactly. Right. When a new Mario Kart's probably going to be coming out this year, that puts this in a tough place. But you got to have a good gimmick. And I think this is a good gimmick of, hey, you're going to pick a track, and guess what? That track is going to take you through two or three different types of worlds. And it seems fun. It looks fun.
Snowbike Mike
And so I've never been the biggest fan of the Sonic Kart racers. Like, I know All Stars Transformed, like some people argue, is, like, the best kart racer ever. There's always been something about the field that's just not quite right for me. And I think there's, you know, Mario Kart kind of has that shit down. But I'm excited to give this one a try. I think that the. What they're trying to hear looks really cool.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And Nick Scarpia. I just remember beating our ass when we did a party mode of this, me and Joey. It's really embarrassing.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Then we had Digimon Story time stranger come in 2025. A lot of people hyped for this in the chat. I remember yesterday when we were doing games daily. Like, I saw a lot of people. We didn't bring it up, but a lot of people were asking, like, are we going to get a new Digimon? And I guess it's time. So congratulations, y'all. People love that cyber sleuth or whatever on Vita. Yeah, I. I played a fair amount of that. I didn't end up beating it, but I played a lot of it. Like, there's. These games are cool and Digimon fucking kicks ass, so.
Tim Gettys
It kicks so much ass.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. 2025, they're saying for this. So cool. Then next up, Lost soul aside, coming May 30th.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Unfortunate timing and very unfortunate timing, but, like, I think there's a 9 out of 10 chance to just push it, right.
Tim Gettys
I could see it getting pushed for sure.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
You cannot put this out the same days on Ring Night Rain, but the.
Tim Gettys
Trailer, putting it out to die.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, trailer looks really good, right? Like, obviously taking a lot of inspiration from Final Fantasy 13 versus. You know, Tim kept mentioning Noctis because there's a lot of Noctis and, like, Final Fantasy 15 vibes going on here. Still so impressed by the visuals we're seeing and, like, the amount of fidelity there is in this game and for it to be being advertised as, hey, this is a solo developer that's been working on this for many, many years.
Tim Gettys
Shout out to Imran on Blue sky, who said, I previewed Lost soul aside in 2017. Wow, that's wild. Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
This game, it looks so good that it almost feels too good to be true, but I'm excited for it. I want to try it out. I hope it's very successful because it looks dope.
Snowbike Mike
And I will say, like, it's different, but I felt that same way about Black Myth Wukong, right. Where it's like, this looks too good to be true. This, like, how could this possibly add up? So maybe they got the stuff. I know that we're. We're very hesitant for good reason, but, like, maybe this does hit and maybe it like, not just hit the release date, but hit in terms of, like, critical reception. Like, I'm hopeful. Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
At the very least, PlayStation saw this game and went, we want to, like, we want to push this game. Right. It is part of the China Hero project. So, like, they must have felt like they must have played it and, like, saw something special in it. And so again, that stuff, things like that gives me hope. But, yeah, I want, I want to do that wrong con thing. I want to preview this game. I want to play for myself.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Andy, Mike, anything else to say about that one?
Tim Gettys
It looks fantastic. I think our direction every. I think it's really great for a game that you may not be super sold on for them to show off. They showed off a lot of different environments and I think that's something you do to show people, like, no, this is a real game. Look at all these different places that you can play. These are, you know, real environments that you will be sort of doing. In addition to not only these multiple environment environments, but here are a lot of the different bosses that you will be fighting and encountering with a lot of their move sets and a lot of their combos and things like that. It looks. It looks incredible so far. And for Imran to say that he previewed it in 2017, that gives me a lot of hope that this thing's been cooking for a long time.
Snowbike Mike
Yep. Then we got like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii getting a demo this week. And then Itrabond's coming to Dave the Diver in April. Cool, Cool.
Andy Cortez
That game has had some likes. When you think about it. That game is still alive. Yeah. Getting updates and rolling. Do I know someone in my life that's still playing Dave the Diver? Absolutely not. But there's someone out there that's still.
Snowbike Mike
Going to hop in for the first time getting Exciting. Also, Joey just slacked us letting us know that Alana just raided us. So shout out to you Alana. Thank you so much for raiding us. And also, please tell R congratulations. That's so freaking sick. We'll get to that later though. Next up we have Split Gate two. The Alpha's coming February.
Tim Gettys
I will say hold on real quick with Lossful aside, that's where it starts ramping up in. Oh, banger, banger, banger. Non stop, non stop. Where the first several games before that was like.
Snowbike Mike
I mean, see, I felt that was Shinobi. Like that was the second game.
Tim Gettys
Okay. But Shinobi looked cool. And at the end of it, at the end of a normal state of play, I would have been. Shinobi is probably the coolest thing we saw there. You know, for these first four games, we have the Son, we have Sonic, we have Monster Hunter. I'm like, this is kind of what I expect from these showcases.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
What are you trying to say about Sonic?
Tim Gettys
Wasn't excited enough about Sonic. It's been one of my favorite things. That blessing does every time. Whatever Keely just like just disrupt Sonic.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
You gotta be more excited. It's your showcase. Get excited.
Tim Gettys
But with Lost Soul aside, that's where you know, I'm like, okay, this game looks awesome. And from here on out, it was like 95% of the things that were shown are things that I really want to play.
Andy Cortez
See, I didn't think it picked up until Midnight Walk. We still have a while until I think we hit that halfway point of let's turn this on now for me.
Snowbike Mike
Are you serious, Mike? Did you not get hyped for WWE 2K24 the island we skipped over Split Game.
Andy Cortez
Let's talk Split Gate two on the Alpha. This is a game here that my personal opinion is a great game. It's a lot of fun to play if you're looking for a team shooter. We really like the portal. Use it. Just in my mind is like, that's a lost game. We have no idea where this was. Right? Like Split Gate, when that first came out was massive. That took over the Halos world right there. And then we kind of just moved into we're going to make Split Gate two. We're in alphas, we're in betas. We're not quite there to the finish line yet. And I don't know when we will see that finish line. I just don't know what the hype is. But now they're introducing a three team 24 player arena here. So that Will be interesting to see. It just doesn't. It's not grabbing me like it once did. So I. I'm a little on the fence of this game. We'll see if it can bring me back with the gameplay.
Tim Gettys
I'm gonna be real with you. I think I blacked out for a lot of these games because, like, I'm only thinking of the one I looked at. Mike says, I'm like, oh, yeah, splitgate. Oh, WWE. Oh, Borderlands. There was a lot of, you know, 90. I said 95% are things I'm super stoked for. Maybe brush it down to, like, 72, maybe.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, now we got to get into it. We hear Paul Heymon's voice. Andy Cortez, you telling me you're not hyped as to get on the island of relevancy?
Tim Gettys
Dude, I'm legitimately excited that Paul Heymon was in this thing.
Andy Cortez
That's insane.
Tim Gettys
That's so cool as hell. That's so random and awesome. But, yeah, we're looking at what Mike, is this, you know, 2K's new way to. How are we going to monetize the out of wwe?
Andy Cortez
Yeah, how. How do you make. I mean, it's interesting because I'm not the biggest wrestling fan, and so when I do jump into WWE 2K games, I am looking for a little bit more to grab me as that casual audience. And I think that's what they've done with the NBA 2k franchise is they figured out, oh, how do we elevate my player?
Tim Gettys
Right?
Andy Cortez
And that my rise that Greg always talks about. How do we take that? Share that in the universe with your friends and maybe make that a little bit more fun than just the generic robot. Here's the storyline. You're gonna follow it right through wrestling. And so a lot of people love my rise. I think a lot of people will vibe with this in that WWE community. It will be the issue of when Greg said, oh, I don't want them to take my rise away from me. One day they will, right? That's what they did with 2K, where they blend the story of my player and that together. When I look at the island, it looks fun, right? Like, that's the catch is, like, the neighborhood is just the neighborhood. This is, like, dumb fun. They got weird lighting. They got crazy outfits.
Snowbike Mike
I want to jump in there because, like, it. This looks like the dumbest fun. It's leading into the way. I'm like, I. I can't wait to try this. I don't know how good it's gonna be. I don't want to spend any money on but, like, the amount of, like, stores and like, event spaces there that have stupid ass puns and where it's like the Arcade of tomorrow and it's like Oscar themed, like the Empress of Tomorrow. And like all this, I'm like, this looks good.
Tim Gettys
Pouring and a Jordan store.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, same time with Jordan.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It looks so janky and it looks. It looks dumb as hell.
Andy Cortez
Wait until you play it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
But it'll be even worse because, like, I really do want to play it, but I'm so scared of, like, how monetized the hell is it gonna be. Oh, am I gonna make a character and my character is gonna have all 1 stats across the board, and I'm not gonna be able to level up.
Andy Cortez
As a 62 overall in all brown, your UPS driver outfit. And they will say, give me $70, I'll make you a 77 or an 82, whatever that number they set to be. And you're going to say, well, stomach Mike's already 87 and he's flying off the top ropes. I got to do that. So then you will give them $70 or you can grind, which you're more than welcome to, but you will jump into that and then you'll say, well, I need new Jordans. I need that cool freaky mask that guy's wearing. I need that. You're going to just start spending money.
Tim Gettys
I love the NBA videos of people playing 2K and playing in the city and being like, what the fuck is this skateboarding? Why do they have me skateboarding in this world? Like, they have little skateboarding mini games, you know, so you can go from spot to spot. Like this seems like this felt like a natural evolution for 2K. We know what they do. We know their kind of process for monetization. And how are they going to make millions and millions of dollars off of this? I think it looks goofy as hell. It looks cheesy and it kind of fits.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, yeah. You know, I mean, having Paul Heyman introduce it, like turning the island of relevancy into a literal island is. It's inspired, y'all.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It's genius. It's genius.
Snowbike Mike
Next up, we had Borderlands 4. We got a lot of information on.
Andy Cortez
This, like a dedicated state of play coming up that will be all about Borderlands.
Snowbike Mike
And we got the release date. September 23, 2025. Once again, the year's really starting to fill out here. This is going to be a major release. Andy, you were like, I would say hi, talking about this. So do you want to continue that?
Tim Gettys
I. I'm just always a sucker for Borderlands games. I think they're the ones that sort of started the whole my version of like what Looter shooters are and playing with friends online and just. It's. It's junk food. It is empty calories. You're, you know, maybe you could pay attention to the story, maybe you don't, but it's just pure gunplay fun. And now that I'm on. Now that I'm on Keyboard Mouse, I have a much larger love for first person shooters. And that just sort of lends itself to me enjoying these experiences more. It's going to be goofy. I do have a lot of faith this time around with the writing team involved and, you know, especially with how some of the writers on the team have been talking about the past experiences of me. Like, no, like, you know, get that humor out of here. Like, you know, we're kind of bringing a new flavor with not all the sort of cheesy tone that they are going for. I'm sure we'll still see a bit of that, but I don't know if one game that I wish I played through all the way of was Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, which is a game that I feel like just that side little, not even dlc. It was just its own spin off that came out after Borderlands 3, and I was much more impressed by the writing there than I was in Borderlands 3. The. The comedic writing I feel like was a lot more like when Tim calls it the chip damage, I think I thought it was a lot sharper than it was ever in Borderlands 3 because I. Borderlands 3, I think just completely missed the mark. But yeah, I'm stoked for Borderlands 4. You know, it's probably going to disappoint me in some ways here and there, but for a game that is just there to have explosive fun, throwing crazy grenades and all these wild power ups. Really stoked for it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
We got to stop having Randy Pitchford at these jokes. I know I say, I say it every single time, but I'm going to continue.
Andy Cortez
They're going to segue that Randy just.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, then segue him out. But they're not going to segue him.
Tim Gettys
Be a Randy bless.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, I'm, I'm. I'm tired of seeing Randy Pitchford. Like, it's. Every time it's awkward to me just because we. The new stories happen. Everybody knows what the new stories are. With Randy Pitchford. I think they're banking on people that will forget. And then also Randy Pitchford. The man has enough power where he can like will himself in into any showcase to talk about Borderlands 4 because guess what? Borderlands 4, extremely popular. These showcases want Borderlands 4 as a part of it. So yeah, we know that if we want Borderlands 4, we got to get Randy. Stop it.
Snowbike Mike
Just stop it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Stop it.
Tim Gettys
It's weird.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It's awkward. Like, stop it.
Tim Gettys
I can't believe you would me on this.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, exactly. Tweet at you now.
Snowbike Mike
Next up, we had split fiction coming March 6th. Less than a month away until Hayes Lights next. It looks so freaking awesome. Mike, you got to play it.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, me and Andy have already played this together. We had a whole lot of fun. Really looking forward to it. This is a must play. This is going to be another great game from this studio. And Joseph Ferris, this is going to be it. This is going to be a ton of fun.
Tim Gettys
I don't see this game not making our top 10 this year with the amount of people that are going to be interested in it just, just from the concept alone. Hey, it's another version. If it takes two, it's the next game from those next devs. But if they just did that and there was a big drop in quality, obviously we wouldn't love it as much but like what we experience and the amount of variety that we were shown and the amount of quality that was in that variety was just. Holy shit.
Snowbike Mike
They.
Tim Gettys
They have another banger on their hands.
Andy Cortez
Hell yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I cannot wait for this. It looks so awesome. I'm with blessed though. I hope that it's a little shorter than it takes to like it takes two. I don't want to say out stayed its welcome, but I do think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was a little tighter. Yeah, yeah. I won't have to wait long for that one then. Next up we had Supermassives Directive 8020 coming on October 2nd.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
We're back. It's been. It feels like it's been multiple years since the last. Oh, what do they call these? Who? Oh, the Dark. Dark Pictures Anthology.
Andy Cortez
Yeah. Which is their smaller ones. Like we know.
Snowbike Mike
Did you say it feels like it's been multiple years? Yeah, I feel like it's been like two weeks, man. These games, I swear to God.
Andy Cortez
Frank Stone though.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No.
Andy Cortez
Okay, so then it's been a while since.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah. Because the quarry did come out in 2023 and I think the fall before that was the previous Dark Pictures game. So that was like 2022.
Tim Gettys
And so like for this Devil in Me.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Devil in Me, Yeah.
Tim Gettys
That's the one that me. Thank you. Meline Stanley in the chat. That's the one that I played with you and Nick Washing. Right. And that was the one that was very kind of.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That one was broken, did not run well, which sucks because the one before that, I think it was. I forget what it was called. It was the one in Afghanistan with Ashley. Ashley Tisdale. That one.
Tim Gettys
That was great.
Andy Cortez
That was.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That one was great. And so I like that you have. It seems like they've taken. I mean, they have taken more time on this game. I hope that translates to one a little bit more polished, but then also like a story that feels a bit more unique and inspired, which I think it has to be because this setting is completely different from anything they've done before. And that alone is exciting for me. They have. I don't know the name of the actress. Lashana lynch. Lashana lynch, right. Having her star in it is exciting. We know that. You know, we've seen her in things before.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, she was in James Bond, right?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, yeah, she was.
Andy Cortez
They showed a lot here. Didn't love that. They showed a lot. It's like whenever I show Nick trailers and he's like, mike, that was the wrong.
Tim Gettys
I know the entire plot of the movie now. Nick got so mad when he showed him. What was it? Alien.
Andy Cortez
Alien.
Snowbike Mike
Alien.
Andy Cortez
Romulus. He's like, mike, you show me the entire movie. That that's what this was for me. Of like I'm already on board. I'm very excited. I should have looked away because I felt like I just learned way too much that I didn't want to learn live.
Tim Gettys
You're wrong. From the chat. They did actually do the casting of Frank Stone, Mike.
Andy Cortez
So they're still turning. Yeah, yeah. Cuz casting Frank Stone was just a little bit ago.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Hey, what kind of game was. Was that another one of these.
Andy Cortez
That's similar. Similar but in Sep. In the Dead by Daylight Universe.
Tim Gettys
That was a David harbor, right?
Andy Cortez
Yes.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, I skipped that one.
Tim Gettys
Was that David Harbor?
Andy Cortez
I don't know who. I don't know who that is.
Tim Gettys
I'll look that up. That sounds right.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
The strange.
Tim Gettys
Oh, no. David harbor was in the. Never mind. He's in a. He was in like a remake or remaster of something. It was a video game that was a movie at one point. Alone in the Dark.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
David Arquette.
Tim Gettys
Thank you. Thank you. Zotig and Kiyubi.
Snowbike Mike
Then next up, we got five nights at Freddy's Secret of the Mimic coming on June 13th. Big deal to a lot of people that I don't think are at this table or in the chat right now, but.
Tim Gettys
And that's on us. Because if we want to make money and, you know, be super rich, dude.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
If you want to be real. About our streaming schedule. Mondays, five nights at Freddy's. Tuesdays, Roblox, Wednesdays, Minecraft.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Thursday is Fortnite. I know we do on Fridays. Fridays we hang out in one of those pools. One of those kid pools.
Andy Cortez
Oh, yeah, you're really. You're nailing the streamer meta right now. You're doing great.
Snowbike Mike
The next up, we had the Midnight Walk that I am so hyped for. This is coming May 8th, new release date there. This is the stop motion game that's in PSVR 2, but also playable just on PlayStation 5. And dude, it looks so cool and creative and it just. We're getting a lot of stop motion styled games, but I. I feel like this kind of stands out to me. Like, it has more than just like, oh, it's stop motion. It's like, there's like a style on top of that that I think is just incredibly rad.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, it's stop motion with just really good art direction, you know, Very reminiscent of that. That character we just saw earlier. Very reminiscent from one of the dudes from Nightmare Before Christmas. Huh?
Snowbike Mike
The mayor.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, the mayor. Yeah. So the. Yeah, I think that not only art direction wise, but just tech wise. This looks really fantastic.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Having this dude crawling through this dark corridor looks awesome. And the blinking aspect.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
How are they gonna change that to PlayStation? I'm assuming, you know, you hit the touchpad or.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, it's super cool. And there's one shot earlier where, like, there. There's like, fire and then, like, snow happens. Like, I'm very interested in, like, the gimmicks of it all because it looks. It looks like it's gonna be very creative and cool. Yeah, right there. It's sick, but, yeah. You guys have anything else to say about Midnight Walk before we move on?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Looks really cool.
Andy Cortez
May 8, very close. Super exciting. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike

Darwin's Paradox.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, with the cute squid. This looks kind of cool actually.
Snowbike Mike
Honestly, this is definitely one of the bigger surprises for me where it's like, what the. Like you, you hear it, you see the first like kind of splash screen for it. It's Konami. You're like, I don't know about this. But then seeing the gameplay, I'm like, all right, this looks way more inside than I would have ever expected. So I'm, I'm here for this one.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Definitely a weird surprise, but it kind of makes sense to see these larger third party publishers, we're seeing more and more of them get into this smaller game space and try to, you know, how can we have smaller teams working on smaller projects that can tide us over until the next thing we want to work on it. It makes sense and I'm happy that it also looks good.
Snowbike Mike
It looks, it doesn't look like a cash grab, but go for it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Well, I was gonna say, I'm with you, Andy, but Konami, like, that's the part where I get confused.
Tim Gettys
Well, and, and I, I think just because we haven't seen it from them yet, but I think maybe this is their. This is where it starts.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
But it's more so like Konami. Not that they're out of the. Like they've been slowly entering back into the video games business. Right. We get. We're getting Metal Gear Solid three Delta. I forget what. I know we're getting other things from Konami, but I can't even think of them off the top of my head. But I know, like, it feels like it's been more of a slow burn of how do we. Oh, silent hills.
Andy Cortez
We got one sitting. One sitting.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It's felt like they've been trying to figure it out though.
Tim Gettys
Find their voice again.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, it's like, what is our voice? As Konami and like, I just wouldn't have expect this to be part of the. The research phase of figuring out. Like this game doesn't even look like a Konami game. Like if I wrote down a bunch of ideas of what Konami would make or any like even like, I feel.
Tim Gettys
Like this is a Thunder full ass game.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I look at this and I'm like, yeah, that's.
Snowbike Mike
That's an excellent point.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yes. I look at this and I go, some dude in Oregon made this game in his basement.
Snowbike Mike
Right?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, I don't think Konami is the one that that is working on this.
Snowbike Mike
So I love the 3D depth of so many of the different areas we're in. Like, this looks and the animation is kind of unbelievable.
Andy Cortez
Brings me back to Odd World back in the day. Yeah, I love the little touch.
Tim Gettys
Even the big.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, super cool. Then after that, we got Warriors Abyss from Koei Tecmo. This is a Dynasty warriors meets Vampire Survivors. And it's out today.
Andy Cortez
That's just crazy. Dynasty warriors is back. It never left. It's back though.
Snowbike Mike
You gonna jump into this? Anybody?
Andy Cortez
Yeah, I'm gonna jump in. I'm gonna give it a try for sure. I've been riding the high of Dynasty warriors since it launched earlier this year. So yeah, I'll jump in. I think that will be fun to see if it jumps in. And I. I like it enough.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
We'll see if my. If Mike likes it, I might jump in.
Snowbike Mike
All right, the next up, we got Animusha 2 remaster coming May 23rd. I cannot believe this is happening. What I think six years after the first one was remastered and did not perform well. I was saying on the reaction, I've recently been replaying through it and like, it is. It's tough, man. It's tough. They updated the controls and I imagine they're going to for two as well. I do think two already was a better game than one. So I think it's going to to work a lot better. But you gotta let me skip the cutscenes, man. Like, you gotta. You gotta figure that out. Capcom, please. But then Animusha Way of the Sword 2026, we actually got a brand new trailer for it that showed so much. We got gameplay. We've seen a lot of the. The new protagonists. And like, I am all about it. I can't believe we got this. What's Capcom got going on over there? How are they showing us all of this and not showing up their showcase like, what's going on?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
They don't give a about the Showcase.
Snowbike Mike
It's crazy. Why even do it?
Andy Cortez
This one finally got me in, Tim, because I've never played any of these games. I didn't even know what the gameplay was because we haven't seen gameplay yet. And so I've been wondering. I'm like, man, Tim's really hyped for this. Like, what's going on here? When. When will I feel that or will I not get that? Tim? I got that with this. I'm all in now. This looks exciting. It looks fun. It looks very violent, and I like that a lot.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, man, I'm. I could not be more excited for this. I. I think this is going to be very, very, very good. And I. I think that this is going to be the best Animusha of all time.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Wow.
Snowbike Mike
Right now.
Tim Gettys
Wow.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Chicken tender bit. Raise the stakes of the raising canes.
Snowbike Mike
Next up, we have Metal Gear solid delta, coming August 28th. Who could have seen that coming?
Tim Gettys
Wow.
Snowbike Mike
This game looks incredible. I can't believe we're gonna get to play that game looking this good.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
This. I mean, this was the trailer that I think I've been wanting since the announcement of this. I wanted to see the characters. I wanted to see some of those cutscenes. I wanted to see how you could translate the personality of the original MGS3 to a remake. And like, we're getting so much of this. Like, everybody looks so fantastic. Except for maybe Ocelot. I think it was Andy and Barrett that we're talking about. He looks like it looks hot there.
Tim Gettys
But then the other angle. There's later on in the trailer Bear, where he's like running towards the camera. I just think there's something lost in translation in making him. He doesn't modernize him. This doesn't look like a person. Yeah. I mean, look how dead the mies look.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
He looks. Yeah, he looks super off.
Andy Cortez
He looks a little older than Young Hasalot than in my imagination.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, me too.
Andy Cortez
So, yeah, we'll see.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
There is breaking news on this one that was DM'd to me by the one and only Jordan Midler of vgc. He just sent me a link to a VGC article that's titled Xbox's Metal Gear Solid Delta replaces Ape Escape Monkeys with another surprise cameo. And that cameo is Bomberman.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, yeah, man. In a big way. Big way. Ben Starr just texted me. He's watching Shout. Shout out to Ben Star. He also put a little heart around the. The Clive image.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, my guy.
Tim Gettys
You've been.
Snowbike Mike
I literally said our guy. But yeah, so Next. Anyway, Metal Gear Solid. Anything else to say about this Joshua Hype?
Andy Cortez
It looks great. Like you said, this is like, we really get to see it and it looks really, really good. You know, the story. Maybe if it's your first time, you're going to be on for a great ride. But yeah, finally getting the release date, man, just out is a great way to announce that. I love that.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, that's the new stream over.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, straight up.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
And I know I sound insane saying this, but like, yeah. So much spoilers in this trailer.
Snowbike Mike
It's only a spoiler if you know it's a spoiler, though. Otherwise it's just a bunch of weird dudes. Weird because this is what you wanted.
Tim Gettys
In a trailer too, isn't it?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Plus, yeah, but like, maybe some of the earlier cut scenes. I don't know.
Tim Gettys
I don't know.
Andy Cortez
We needed to see them all.
Snowbike Mike
The.
Andy Cortez
The fans.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I mean, I love seeing here.
Andy Cortez
Wants to see them all. We want to see. See how they look.
Snowbike Mike
Pain.
Tim Gettys
You got to see the fear.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
You got to see. I'm being hypocritical about this, but it's perfect.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I'm like, you showed us a lot and I love it.
Tim Gettys
I like it, though. Holy.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
But if you've not played MJS3, cover your eyes.
Snowbike Mike
And also a lot of people were asking us, is this game going to be. If you've never played a Metal Gear, will this be a good jump on point? Yes, absolutely. Like, this is kind of designed that way, so yeah, I think you're going to have a great time. Next up, we have Hell is us coming September 4th. Wow. Didn't expect a release date for this one.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Yeah, neither did I. I. For some reason, I could have seen this one getting pushed at 2026 or for some reason, or just come out in 2026 period. Like, not even getting pushed or whatever.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
But this is one of the ones that leaked also.
Tim Gettys
Oh, really?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah. The release date for this. Yeah, leaked. And so I think people were talking about this showing up here and that's. I think I'm. I might have brought it up on the KD just because of that, but team's looking cool.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, this one looks fantastic. And again, I'm just. This is the one where they didn't really talk about what the. In the last time we saw. They were very directed at the camera saying, this game, you don't know. You got to figure it all out by yourself. I wasn't expecting to see this many cutcenes in the game where you don't know. Yeah, I thought it'd be a lot more from Soften and like, you know, there's rarely story moments. You're just kind of puzzles, you know, piecing some puzzles together and getting to the next point. But I'm super excited to see how a game developer can try to pull off what the. The task at hand of like, there's no waypoints, there's no radar, there's no map. You just figure your shit out.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah. Again, like from the lead designer of this game. Right. Like, there's somebody who worked a lot on. On Deus Ex. And so like, I would think about more of that type of development style versus something like FromSoftware, where it is like, you know, you are trying to. You're having to figure out how to navigate this world without like much clue of how to do much. Right. Like, you are putting together the pieces yourself. This game looks fucking awesome. I. I'm also. I'm with Andy of like, I'm surprised by how much we saw in this trailer that I'm like, oh, damn, this looks. It looks crunchy. Like, it looks like there's like a lot to chew on in this game. Yeah. Like, I'm in like the stylistically reminds me of something like Returnal, except if Returnal, like Returnal feels like a min max is on gameplay. This looks like it's min maxing on just world and lore and story in a way that I'm like, I'm all.
Snowbike Mike
The way into what's so cool about it. And I mean, they kind of said this, but now we even see more like there's opportunity here for this to be a death stranding type. Well, we've never had something quite like this. Yeah. You know, like, I don't want to say genre defining, but like, in a lot of ways it. It does look like it could be making a new genre, which is exciting but also very ambitious. So we'll see how this all plays out for them.
Tim Gettys
And there are tons of games out there that you can go into your accessibility settings and you can turn off waypoints and you could turn off the HUD and you can really immerse yourself. But because the games aren't necessarily designed with that in mind, it's more of a visual noise choice and less of a, you know, back in the day with old games, like, you know, talking like old Zeldas back in the day, people saying, oh yeah, you get that one piece near the beach and you're like, oh, I remember a beach being over here. But for this game to be designed for the ground up with that in mind already, like this is our whole mission statement is to be this game that you are just kind of discovering things on your own. I think is really novel and cool.
Snowbike Mike
Absolutely. Next up, we had lives of p. Overture coming summer 2025. Andy hit me baby.
Tim Gettys
It looks great. Excited. Excited to be back in the world. Excited to like hop back in and get back into this weapon system. Bless.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, dude.
Tim Gettys
The customization of, you know, joining different handles with different blades or just blunt objects. Super stoked to be back and to see what sort of hell awaits us. Boss fight wise.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
It's snowing this time.
Andy Cortez
I like him in a snow jacket, his little winter coat.
Tim Gettys
He looks like he's wearing Kratos's like kind of shoulder pad and stuff with the like his ragnarok get up, you know.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
We gotta get Tim to play Liza.
Tim Gettys
P. We really do.
Snowbike Mike
I don't know, man.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Liza P for me is still the. The final boss of Souls Lex. Not developed by FromSoftware.
Tim Gettys
Oh yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Where this game just did everything right.
Snowbike Mike
Was the kitty in the first one and is it Figaro?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I don't call a kitty.
Tim Gettys
Did the old lady have the kitty?
Snowbike Mike
Geppetto should have had the kitty. Is Geppetto in the game? Tim?
Tim Gettys
You gotta play it. You gotta play it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
There's like a shark, a weird shark man, that just the up here. There.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I think we're gonna get swallowed up, guys.
Tim Gettys
Oh, we're definitely getting swallowed by the whale. That's been the whole. We're getting swallowed by the whale. But to see we're getting swallowed up. We're getting gobbled up. But to see the, you know, the addition of this range weapon is new and different. That's something brand new to kind of add. To add some more spice to your gameplay. But I'm just super stoked to get back into that weapon system into perfect Perry to break more weapons. My favorite system of 2023.
Snowbike Mike
Then next up we got Dreams of Another.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I've never been so teased in my life.
Tim Gettys
That was unbelievable.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
And I still don't know what this is.
Andy Cortez
You shoot stuff to create stuff. Yeah. It was an interesting idea here. Definitely a wild looking art style and just art direction on this. Things that you don't.
Tim Gettys
I have the press release if you like.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Kyoto based creative studio Q Games has officially revealed Dreams of Another, the latest title by multimedia artist Bayon, the director of Pixel Junk Eden. The game was announced during PlayStation State of Play. Blah blah blah. The game is built around the philosophical theme of no creation without destruction. Rather than destroying objects by shooting, as in traditional shooting games, here your shots materialize and create the world. This unconventional mechanic offers a gameplay experience that challenges the norms of genre and invites players into a whole new dimension. Dreams of Another is scheduled to launch on PS5 and PSVR2 in 2025. That just features. Yeah, shooting creates, not destroys, dreamlike world. Mysterious characters and interact with intriguing personalities such as the man in Pajamas and the Wandering Soldier. Of course, you've always wanted to interact with those guys. Experimental soundtrack. An emotionally stirring soundtrack crafted by Bayonne himself and enhance for PS5 Pro.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I love that.
Snowbike Mike
I mean, dude, that's.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I got emotional of you reading that. I'm a very big fan of themes.
Snowbike Mike
I love seeing someone like that in the state of play, you know, that's like such a. Hey, we're gonna do something super creative. Like, in a very industry filled with turmoil at this point, to see something like this, like a big swing that seemingly doesn't need to make a bazillion dollars to be worth doing, like, it seems like a smaller project. Like, that looks awesome.
Tim Gettys
Very pro second Amendment, you know. This is backed by the nra.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, man.
Tim Gettys
I. I was gonna say, like, I. I understand the, you know, the theme of, like, you know, these weapons are creating and not destroying. Right. But while watching it, I kind of wished I had the same sort of vibe as Pal World Micro. I'm like, I don't want shoot. I don't want, like, a gun with this kind of silly, cute character. But in this game, I. I was hoping for more of a res.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Style.
Tim Gettys
Like, maybe you're just shooting like an ethereal blast of, like, nothing like power colors or beams or whatever, but to just see a straight up ak.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
My take on it and this. This. I'm gonna. I think I'm gonna come off as pretentious here, but allow me to be pretentious. This takes me back to, like, when I played Shadow Colossus and, like, you know, years later, went online and read other people's interpretations of it, right? And, like, one of the interpretations that always stuck with me is the idea of Shadow Colossus being this game where, like, any other game, you play as dude with a sword and you see an enemy and your first inclination is to start killing those enemies, right? And then over time, you realize that you're the bad guy. Right? Like, because video games are this thing, you're so inclined to just go out and be violent because the protagonist. I'm the protagonist. That's what video games are meant to do. You're meant to pick up a sword and be violent. I almost read that. Read this as, like, kind of a parallel idea of, hey, you are a dude with gun. Because so many video games are dude with gun. So how do we translate dude with gun and turn that into creation. Creation. Like, you know, you are doing the prototypical video game thing, which is destroy with gun. How do we turn that into. Yeah, something beautiful, something meaningful, something that, you know is going to carry themes. Wait, you know about themes?
Andy Cortez
Themes, bro. Let me. You just didn't let me dive in. You know, there's just so much to talk about in Silent Hill 2. But I saved it, okay?
Tim Gettys
I saved it.
Snowbike Mike
I love you so much, Mike.
Tim Gettys
When Mike was watching Bless Play Dreams, he was like, I'm gonna make a game like this. Can't even plug in his monitor to his graphics card.
Andy Cortez
Make a game, bro.
Tim Gettys
Mike was like, why is my computer not showed up? He's like, you have it in the motherboard, not the graphics card.
Andy Cortez
Too many. Too many holes in the back of a computer.
Snowbike Mike
Too many holes. Andy, have you played Shadow the Colossus?
Tim Gettys
I. No, not. Not in its entirety.
Snowbike Mike
One day, I think that's going to be a game that you play and it's going to change. Change you as a person.
Andy Cortez
Wow. Like, it's beautiful.
Tim Gettys
It was a. Right there. It was a shout out to. I'm blanking on his name from Polygon, but have you heard of this cousin game concept?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Oh, yes, yes.
Tim Gettys
I've seen blanking on his name. I know his name. I've seen him a million damn times. I'm just really bad with names. Huh? Chris Plant? No, but I'm sure Chad will bring it up right now. But this concept came up recently and. And he made a tick tock of it, and he said, you know those games that nobody had that only your cousin has got it? These are cousin games.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Patrick. Patrick Gill.
Tim Gettys
Patrick Gill. Thank you.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, cool.
Tim Gettys
You know, like, you know a game like Uniracers. A game like what? And you just start to, like, Shadow the Classes was the cousin game for me, where, like, I know it's extremely popular, but it's a game that I never had and never really knew how to get because my rental store was very limited.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I brought up the Polygon article that has, like, a list of cousin games. The first. First game on the list is Army Men, Serge's Heroes. And Mike immediately points at it and says, I love that you're the Cousin.
Tim Gettys
And Mike to that point. Yeah. And I had Thug too, which made me the cousin, I guess. In the video, Patrick Gill's like, if any of these games resonate with you, you were the cousin.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I pushed back on the thug too.
Snowbike Mike
I 100% pushed back on it.
Tim Gettys
But he called it out. I was like, God damn it. I love Universe.
Snowbike Mike
That's a good one.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
But like, which Spy hunter? Yeah, okay. 1,000. Cuz I had spy 100 for PS2. 100. A cousin game.
Snowbike Mike
Dude, driving that car in the little, like the chasm tunnel where the. You know. Come on, man.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That game was cool.
Snowbike Mike
So cool.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I like that game.
Snowbike Mike
So cool. Then next up, we had Days Gone remastered. It's getting new content, a little Horde assault mode, and you can upgrade for $10 if you already have it on PS4. April 25, we knew it was coming. Good to kind of have it and keep going.
Andy Cortez
Does this get any of you to jump into it?
Snowbike Mike
No.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, I played a little bit of.
Andy Cortez
Days Gone, but I never saw it through. Does this get anyone to jump in?
Tim Gettys
I mean, it's something that always kind of on the periphery. Interested me because it came out on PC, right? Pretty sure.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That sounds about right.
Tim Gettys
It's always so confusing. You never know. Like, you never know when last was part two was coming out. The amount of times I've been like, yeah, last was part two could show up here and Blessing was like, did it not come out?
Snowbike Mike
I'm excited enough for all of.
Andy Cortez
I know Chris said I was gonna get to like. I know Chris Second is pumped for this.
Tim Gettys
He loves Days Gone.
Andy Cortez
He loves it. I know a lot of people do.
Tim Gettys
He's a goner. Didn't know that.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Another.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, I was about to say that. I don't know. Anyways, speaking of that, Stellar Blade DLC is coming.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, we gotta stop this. We're taking Stellar Blade with us in the 2025.
Tim Gettys
Leaving behind.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
We were. We're leaving behind Black Myth Wukong in 2024.
Snowbike Mike
Wow.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Wow.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, wait. What, what, what are you upset about? Like, what?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, he was just tired of like the director of Black being like, you know.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, he's talking about, like, because he. He. He implied that the gamers out here that are playing Stellar Blade are gooners. And only some of them are. No, only some of them.
Snowbike Mike
No, no, no, no, no. 100% of them are absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I play for the combat.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, doesn't matter. Are you telling me you ate one and.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Of course, we all are.
Tim Gettys
That's what I'M saying if the game sucked, I would not have played it. You know what I mean? Like I wouldn't have gone back to it.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Did I. Did you know, was I embarrassed to boot up this game at my parents house or Christmas vacation? And then things are thinging all over the damn place. Like them hangers are out there.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I'm not gonna turn off the game.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Because them things are thing.
Tim Gettys
But I felt embarrassed to, you know.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
What do you want me to do?
Tim Gettys
My dad sees clips of me playing Elder ring. He's like, oh. And he walks in the living room and I'm like, just titties are crazy moving right now like that. It's a, you know, you know.
Snowbike Mike
So now it's crossing over with. With Nikki.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Is this Infinity Nik?
Andy Cortez
Oh, okay.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, it's not Infinity N do that.
Tim Gettys
That's a. That's a mobile game about dressing up.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Wait, oh yeah, no Infinity. But Nikkei I believe is their other game.
Tim Gettys
Yes. This is the first game that they worked on is their mobile game. Very, you know, big, lots of jiggling. Tim. It's a third person shooter mobile game and you're always behind the character and it's just like everything's moving. Like ass is out there. You see lips sometimes.
Snowbike Mike
What?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Anyway, next game, next game, lost records.
Snowbike Mike
June 25th. That's happening. Next up we have a bunch of game catalog updates. I don't think they really presented this bit that well. It was kind of hard to keep up with. And I feel like just visually on the screen it was like they're getting a little cute with the graphic design. I'm like, I don't even know if I have all the games here. February 18th, we got Jedi Survivor, Top Spin and then Lost Records, Bloom and Rage.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
That's a good get.
Snowbike Mike
And then there was a couple like back to back announcements of like indie games or like at least reveals that they're coming to game catalog. So we got Spring 2025 Blue Prince. It's a genre bending action adventure game that seems very promising for some high review.
Andy Cortez
Missed. We back, baby.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, dude, I was. See, I was thinking of Mike. You'll know the game. It's the. Maybe it's the first person.
Tim Gettys
Botany Manor.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, it was before that. Superliminal.
Snowbike Mike
Superliminal?
Tim Gettys
Oh, superliminal.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, like that style of puzzle. Puzzle game. I know it's not like the world's bending over itself, but like there's something about this where I'm like, I don't know, the energy is right.
Tim Gettys
This like, this is Going to win a lot of awards at Minmax if that's what they do. Yeah. This is a Min Max game. Yeah, I thought you going to say.
Snowbike Mike
Like the GDC awards.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, this is one that I was like kind of looking for stuff to replace Sea of Stars because I have doubt that that game's going to get.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Reviewed enough or well enough for fantasy critics.
Tim Gettys
I was looking around and this game came up and yeah, on the Steam page I had looked where it came up.
Snowbike Mike
How?
Tim Gettys
What are your sources? Who's telling you what? Well, when you look up make a bid it just lists a fuck ton of games. Oh you just happen to pick a game that's going to be a banger. I don't know. Blessing I don't know about. I looked up on Steam and out. God forbid. Crazy. Let's review it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
All out. All out Dud.
Tim Gettys
God forbid I see a random name of a game go to its Steam page and it just so happens Daniel.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Mullen, creator of Inscription was like this.
Tim Gettys
Is the best game I played last year.
Snowbike Mike
Who told you about Daniel Mullen?
Tim Gettys
Who told you about Daniel? We're going to look into this. I'm never participating in a fantasy critic ever again.
Snowbike Mike
God forbid.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
A lot of corruption research.
Snowbike Mike
Roger. Roger sent an update about the of Sonic. It will have Sega crop crossover characters.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Oh nice.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
All right, we win.
Snowbike Mike
Very very cool. Moving on. We then have. Oh man, I think I wrote this one down. Abiotic Factory factor.
Tim Gettys
It's again it's been out for Abiotic.
Snowbike Mike
Factor coming summer summer 2025 to Game Catalog.
Tim Gettys
That's a fun game for one of.
Andy Cortez
Those weird fun wacky PC titles that comes over to console.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, me and Mike and the the squad played it quite a bit. I mean not quite. It was a one night solid one night. Yeah, solid one night. But what it is, it's a. I believe it's. It came from a half life mod where people decided to make a half life mod of what if you were trying to survive inside of these like labs and these bait and you go out to different. You know like Wings of the Lab. Yeah, Wings of the Lab. And you're kind of like bringing back survival stuff to try to like build up your.
Andy Cortez
Your little home holding up in the lobby. Tim, we were fighting for our lives. Yeah, but it's got that robots came out try to kill us.
Tim Gettys
It has a very like kind of funny goofy looking lo fi vibe to it. But what's also funny is the prox chat is great and your character's mouth Moves whenever you talk. So, like the. Oh, my God. There. There's a. There's an MVP clip out there somewhere. Of. We were like, man, Nick's going to struggle so much getting into this game. Like, he's not going to know the settings. And sure enough, like, we're all there in the lobby and we're like, washburn. He's like, yeah. And we're like, all right, cool. Let's see. Mikey, you're here. Oh, yeah, I'm here. Andy. All right. Awesome. Chris Anka. Yeah, right here. Mad, you're good. Nick. Silent for a bit. And we're just like, oh, here we go. Like, we're gonna have to help him out with his sound settings. He. He can't hear us right now. It was just like a classic Nick Scarpino moment.
Andy Cortez
Remember, you go to, like, different dimensions in it too. We went to that scary dimension that looked like Silent Hill.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, dimension is the word I was looking for. I was gonna say multiverse. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Then we have PS+ classics. The first three armored cores are coming, as well as Patapon 3. And then we got. It looks like I wrote Titties of Annihilation, but I didn't. I wonder why. Tides. That's what it is. You know, I'm saying we all are blessed.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I mean, we definitely funny history right now. That is true.
Snowbike Mike
This looks freaking sick as, dude. Like, I. From the moment that started, I was in. I got a little bit out when the next character started talking, but then they won me back pretty quickly. Okay, this looks awesome and I hope it's good.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I. I have the press release as well. Or not a press release, but just like some. Some of the write ups or whatever. Like you play as Gwendolyn and explore London's iconic landmarks. This is from Wesley Inpo at ign calling in Spectral Knights of the Round Table in combat.
Snowbike Mike
Dude. Oh, my God.
Tim Gettys
And fighting enemies inspired by Arthurian mythos.
Snowbike Mike
Yes. This. That sounds awesome. Jumping into the big vajay. I love that too. This looks great. A lot, A lot of Shadow of the Colossus. The scale of it all.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I mean, this is a game that. This is a game that feels like it's tailor made for me.
Snowbike Mike
Right.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Like, there was that 2D section that invoked a little bit of near, but then. Yeah, Shadow, Colossus. Big creatures. You have the combat that reminds you of, like when you're fighting here. Reminds you like a fast action game. Right? Like a platinum thing. But then the boss fights. Give me some. Give me some souls, like vibes. To it. A lot of just inspiration from so many things that I love and like so many people love. If you're a fan of action narrative.
Tim Gettys
Single player driven set in a twisted version of modern London. Cataclysmically altered by otherworldly invasion. Taking on the role of Gwendolyn, the unforgettable bosses. Vertical levels in the form of gigantic knights roaming the landscape.
Snowbike Mike
On.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Come on. I love gigantic knights roaming the landscape. They had that in Sonic Frontiers.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. This is from Eclipse Glow Games. They have over 100 developers that have worked on Yakuza for Honor, Assassin's Creed Persona and Prince of Persia. So a lot of you.
Snowbike Mike
Cool, man.
Tim Gettys
Very cool.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Dev is Eclipse Glow.
Tim Gettys
Eclipse Glow Games.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
And this is their. Is this their first game? This is a. I'm trying to look into the look a lot. This is cool because that was my first. My first reaction once we got to the end of the trailer is like, but who the fuck are these guys? Like, where did you come from?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, it's got. It says debuting Tides of Annihilation at Sony Soda Play is an incredible, humbling accomplishment for Eclipse Glow development team, said Kun Fu, the leader, the lead game producer at Eclipse Glow Games. Also just the beginning. We've created a world that reimagines Arthurian legend, where themes of courage, loyalty and heroism intertwined with an epic story set in a strange yet familiar setting that will test the metal of true gamers and push the genre forward.
Snowbike Mike
Zeke Speak says, I think Jennifer English, Shadow Heart is the voice.
Tim Gettys
Oh my goodness. Oh my God. Loving my life, dude. Yeah, like just that voice, like Shadow Heart's loving my life, dude.
Snowbike Mike
Hell yeah, dude. Let's go.
Tim Gettys
I was trying to log into the website but it was not working earlier and I guess it's back up now. But playtoa.com is the website where you can kind of get a deeper glimpse in showing you the giant knights, massive mountains wander between two worlds, leaving devastation in their wake. One tailed as normal heroes from Arthurian legend, they too have been twisted by the fog into monstrous shadows of their former glory. Shadows of the Colossus. Great. Crazy.
Snowbike Mike
Ben just texted me saying Jennifer English is definitely the lead.
Tim Gettys
Hell yes.
Snowbike Mike
Very cool. Yeah, that looks awesome. And speaking of Ben, that reminds me a lot of Expedition 33, where you see it and you're like, I hope they pull this off. You know what I mean? Because it's just like a dev out of nowhere getting a lot of push from the big dogs, like dope ass voice actors, you know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
I hope this isn't just a vertical slice of gameplay, you know. I hope the rest of the game looks as good as these moments look.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
What are some other games that take place in London? Because I feel like London might have.
Tim Gettys
The sauce bloodborne.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
As a video game location.
Tim Gettys
Assassin's Creed Syndicate the best Assassin's Creed Ubisoft does love. This is a damn curse because like.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Doesn'T Liza P. That's. What is that? Never mind, never mind. But it's kind of Londony though.
Tim Gettys
You know, there were a lot of Liverpool fans, a lot of jerseys.
Snowbike Mike
Then we had Metal Eden. This is coming May 6th. I forgot what this one was.
Tim Gettys
Metal Eden.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, the sick ass first person shooter.
Tim Gettys
Very excited about this because this is from the developer of Ruiner, one of my, like a really standout but underplayed sort of top down action game. Ruiner had just incredible vibes, art direction wise and music wise. And yeah, this was the one with that sick ass sort of, you know, that sort of soundtrack. I, I'm super excited about it because Ruiner was great and I've always been wondering what are they doing? I maybe they put something out in between then that didn't really, you know, hit the radar. But this is very exciting to know that these are the devs who just have an eye for what works and what sounds good and looks good.
Snowbike Mike
And when it first started, like I for a while thought it was marathon because of some of the iconography. But then once we saw the gameplay of it, I still thought it was marathon because the, the way the guns move and stuff. It's really bungee coated.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, right.
Snowbike Mike
Like this look. It has a lot of that like. Yeah, early Halo vibe as well, I would say.
Tim Gettys
So I think. Yeah, the crosshair in some of those moments definitely gets those vibes too. Super excited about it. I'm had again. This is another one of those that had no idea it existed. Now I do. May 6th.
Snowbike Mike
May 6th. Man. Awesome. We got to do an episode of Gamescast soon. That's going through every game with a release date this year. Yeah, because like it's starting to get a little crazy.
Tim Gettys
I have the write up real quick from PlayStation Blog. Before we dive deeper into the gameplay, let's introduce you to the world of Metal Eden. Well, let's not. Let me kind of skip forward a little bit. One of the most unique gameplay mechanics in Middle Eden is core ripping. Oh my God, we're getting a Recore. This is basically a sequel to Recore right here. Come on.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
The word core. You immediately go recore ripping dude, you.
Tim Gettys
Rip the core out, dude. This feature enhances the combat experience by adding a strategic layer to how players engage with enemies. In this post we'll delve into how you can master this ability. But yeah, in this trailer today we show off the Multi tool. Asuka can use its gravity beam to rip cores out of enemies bodies. Once grabbed, you can throw their core at enemies creating an explosion. Brutal core ripping for quick and effective enemy disposal. But yeah, this is find an unarmored enemy, get close in, aim. They're just talking about kind of like different moments of gameplay. But yeah, super stoked about it. Looks awesome.
Snowbike Mike
So wait. May 6th.
Tim Gettys
May 6th.
Snowbike Mike
When does doom the Dark Ages come out? That seems like a lot of fast, fast shooty shooty.
Tim Gettys
Your eyes needed time to rest after that. My eyes.
Snowbike Mike
15Th. May 15th.
Tim Gettys
Oh, perfect.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Only a couple weeks before Elden Ring Night ran.
Tim Gettys
What a month.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
The other game that comes out.
Tim Gettys
The best month of all time.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Yeah, I mean May is cray, you know.
Snowbike Mike
May is cray. We got Mind's eye coming. Summer 2025. This is the weird one built in Everywhere. Published by I.O.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I guess it's out. I guess it's out everywhere. Not in Everywhere, but legitimately every. I don't understand what's going on.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Do we think that maybe Everywhere has is no longer a project and that they just wanted to keep this and so this is just the remnants of that game?
Snowbike Mike
Well, maybe I'm kind of with you. But like that. What was that? IO partners. I see like a different type of.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I assume IO partners or something. I think that's just their publishing label, right? Yeah, because IO is a developer, but yeah, I think they publish other games sometimes.
Tim Gettys
I was very confused by you all being like, wait, is this that games? Because I was like, oh no. Is this the return of the day before? That's what I thought this was.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Well, okay, I'm on the Everywhere. Honestly, I'm on Everywhere dot game where they explain what Everywhere is. Welcome to Everywhere. Everywhere is a place where you can unleash your creativity to build, remix and play with others in a vast connected world. Build from scratch or remix other people's creations using zero code building tools. Build with no code. You do not have to be a programmer to create something amazing in Everywhere. Tim Gettys
Everyone's just fantasy criticing right now.
Andy Cortez
You gotta get. Lynn, Tim, you gotta get these bids in.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Everyone. Bel, how much you bidding for Mind's Eye?
Snowbike Mike
Mike?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Is that even on there?
Andy Cortez
I'm gonna find Shinobi too. No, you're trying to spell Shinobi.
Tim Gettys
He can't.
Snowbike Mike
Remember Core, the movie?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, I remember Recore. Like Core, like the game makers.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Very similar to like Roblox.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I feel like Everywhere is trying to be that. And I don't. But I don't understand.
Tim Gettys
But is it still trying? Is it still doing it?
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I don't know. I like. I feel like we got an update about this sometime in the last year, but I don't even remember what the update was.
Snowbike Mike
Wait, hold on.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Huh?
Snowbike Mike
That was last year?
Tim Gettys
You're looking at chat to find out how to spell it.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
If I go to Wikipedia something mean.
Andy Cortez
To me, Everywhere is R my ass. For months.
Tim Gettys
We're on a show and you're.
Andy Cortez
I don't want you that I'm making moves. You know you can't. You can't let your opponents know when you're making moves.
Snowbike Mike
You have an entire rest of the.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Week to do this.
Andy Cortez
You got to be first.
Snowbike Mike
You're not good.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Wikipedia says Everywhere is an upcoming massively multiplayer online game and game platform with an integrated game creation system.
Snowbike Mike
Cool.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I. Again, no one. I have no understanding of what those words mean together. No way it could fail in the same sentence.
Snowbike Mike
All right. But then they ended it with sorrow. Starring Rahul Kohli from Housemark. Coming 2026, we have a PlayStation blog post here. This is from Gregory Loud in the creative director over at Housemark. Today we're very proud to announce that Soros is coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro in 2026. It's the ultimate evolution of the housemark gameplay first experience. Please watch our cinematic announce trailer to see what's next from us. After Returnal. We knew we had created something special and award winning. But we also knew we wanted Returnal to stand on its own. With this in mind, we decided to create a new IP which evolves our deep third person action and mysterious storytelling. Soros is an action game with a haunting story of a lost off world colony on Carcosa under an ominous eclipse. You play as Arjun Devrage, a powerful Sultari enforcer who will stop at nothing to find who he's looking for. Our goal is to create an emotional and powerful character study that explores the cost it takes to create a new future. Arjun's performed by Ro Coley from Midnight Mass, the Fall of the House of Usher, and a couple kind of funny podcast episodes. Rahul's truly bringing up Arjun to life in a stunning performance. He's been a brilliant collaborator to tell our story and champion for the game. He's also not alone on Carosa, and we will reveal more of our fantastic ensemble NPC cast and story information ahead. A key gameplay distinction between SoS and Returnal is permanent resources and progression, making every death valuable. After every death, you will face a changed world. But in Soros, you will be able to choose and permanently upgrade your loadout from an evolving set of weapons and suit upgrades to come back stronger to overcome the challenges you face on Carcosa. We cannot wait to share more details about our gameplay, art, audio, music, technology, story, how we push the PS5 console, hardware, and more from everyone working on Soros. Expect our first look at extended gameplay later this year. Sorrow says the next single player action game from Housemark and our amazing collaborators. This is a dream project made by a dream team.

That's awesome.
Snowbike Mike
Thanks for reading. That was awesome. Every single thing said is kind of like, yes, yes, yes, yes. Like, they're nailing it. This sounds great.
Tim Gettys
I am more excited for this than any other first part, first party thing they're working on, like, even intergalactic.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I think I'm with you.
Tim Gettys
Like, I, I, I just think of True Detective Carcosa. The, you know, the old sort of tales of the, the Yellow King. God damn, dude, I'm so. And that dude obviously have, like, a crown around his head. The Yellow King. Oh, my God, dude, we're about to get Rust and Cole in this. Oh, no, his name is Russ Cole. We're gonna get. Yeah. Who did I meet at the airport that one time? It was, it was Matthew McConaughey's friend, you know. Who? Detective.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Oh, you're talking about homie.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, Bald guy. He was in Woody Harrelson. Yeah, he's a true detective too.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Met him at the airport.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
True Detective. Interesting.
Tim Gettys
You never saw True Detective.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
No, but I'm also, like, impressed that that's your, like, reference point for Zombieland.
Tim Gettys
It's like a big part of it is a real big part of, like, Star Wars Story.
Snowbike Mike
You're right, you're right.
Tim Gettys
It's that crime show. Right. But then, you know, the, they're finding that these killer. These killings have a lot to do with, like, weird spooky. Type of in there.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
So can I want to shout out the. This is a dream project made by a dream team specifically because like I think in context of where Housemark is as a studio, that is so key to like, I think what this is going to be and like what's elevated my excitement about it so much because this is. I feel like when you think about music albums, there are so many sophomore albums that are like just the best albums ever. Because oftentimes that first album is made to like get your foot in the door and make a statement. Hey, we want to make something that we know is going to hit. We want to make something that we know is going to, you know, be an overall all around thing that's going to solidify who we are. And then that next thing is what you're able to put your passion into because you have the resources, you have the backing, you have the knowledge. Like you've been able to build up into something like into a version of yourself that's able to kind of do what you want because you have that creative freedom. I think Housemark right now is in a place where they're in exactly that. Right. They made a bunch of really cool ass indie games. They made Resogun, they made Zombie Nation and Space Nation and this right. Or Alienation and like that was them at I'll say their indie era. They then had this crossroads of oh, we're gonna make this most player thing because we need to figure out how to like take that step into making something that's gonna be more financially viable for a studio PlayStation theme. Then partners with them, makes a first party thing in returnal that's a hit. They buy them and now it feels like they are at that pivotal place of we can kind of do whatever we, we want right now. Right. I think. I think this game is going to fucking slap.
Snowbike Mike
I think this could be so excited there. Ghost of Tsushima their horizon. Right? Yeah. Like let's level up Housemarque more than they've already been. Like, what gets me so hyped here is the. How we push the PS5 console hardware. This is the same team that. That blew all of our minds with the Dual Sense really for the first time besides Astro's playroom just a little bit. But we'll.
Tim Gettys
I don't know about me and Mike though. I don't know. I wasn't very impressed with the Dual Sense.
Snowbike Mike
When the rain.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, shut the.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
You didn't like my viral video on Twitter?
Tim Gettys
Got the little mic, got the microphone you know, the Rain man, that's a.
Snowbike Mike
Moment that everyone remembers. Like, they're gonna push this even further. Like, this many more years after we've seen it actually get used in, like, better ways. Like, I'm so hyped for that.
Tim Gettys
Get some back paddles.
Andy Cortez
You know, your dual sense edge.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
Oh, man, I love my dual sense edge.
Tim Gettys
I bought one and that backpack, it's just like, always kind of falls out of place. Falls out of.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
I. I've never had that.
Tim Gettys
Because you could replace them. And it. It's just always, you know, when I. Maybe I'm using it too much. Going too hard on it, at least. Edging too hard. Edging too hard.
Snowbike Mike
J. Once, that's fine. She get twice.
Blessing Adio Ye Jr.
There. There was somebody who made a ghoul Google sheet, like, Excel file thing for me of a while ago. I mean, I talked about the concept of, like, this. The video game stocks, where we talk about, like, our hype for video games. We put in a number and like, ordered upcoming games. And like, that sheet will then produce, like, what the stock exchanges for upcoming video games. I want to find that Excel sheet and see what that looks like, because I feel like if we put our current. Our current hype meters, I can see Seros being like, a top three contender for us. Of like, like, this is. This looks dope. This has me hyped. This is my top two most hyped games right now.
Tim Gettys
It's. It's perfect. Because I was really worried that they were gonna go far off in a different direction when they said we're not making Returnal 2. And that. That scared me. I'm like, oh, man. Like, that game was really good. And you guys are obviously very good at making this style of game, whether it be top down or from this now behind the back, third person sort of vibe. I. I'm so excited that we're essentially just getting kind of a spiritual successor.
Snowbike Mike
I mean, the headline here on the PlayStation Blog is the new third person action title evolves. The satisfying core gameplay introduced in return. Like, yeah, like, they know Andy and they're. They're gonna do it. This is very, very exciting. Also, we've said it a couple times, but shout out to Ro Coley. This is so freaking sick that he is leading this game because everything we just said, this is a sure guaranteed banger. Yeah, like, very, very cool stuff, dude. Going through that, like, I'm. I was questioning the nine. I stand by the nine at this point. This is a. A very, very, very good state of play. Very excited for a lot of the games talked about here. Excited to hop on Fantasy Critic and outbid Snow Bike Mike.
Andy Cortez
Get ready.
Snowbike Mike
Let us know in the comments once.
Tim Gettys
He figures out how to spell shinobi.
Snowbike Mike
What games you're excited for, and until next time, I love you all. Goodbye.
