Today's stories include PlayStations announced, a state of play for tomorrow, a new power world game has been announced, and our review of baby steps. We'll have all this and more because this is kinda funny games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kinda funny games daily for Tuesday, September 23, 2025. I'm one of your host, Blessing Addie Oye Jr. Joining me is J. WWE legend Greg Miller.
B
Hello, Blessing. How are you?
A
I'm doing well. Greg, I love that you're keeping up with this coffee cup.
B
Never gonna stop. Chad said I would never use it after one week. Y' all haven't stopped since I got it from the Nintendo store and I put iced coffee in it. I'm a psychopath.
A
I mean, that's a crazy thing to do. Yeah, when I look at it, better.
B
For my heartburn, the iced coffee, you know, how you guys doing? Cup of Joe sets you right. Ice it up day and night. Are you sad now?
A
Now? Are you sad you didn't get raptured today?
B
Have you seen not over.
A
That is true. There's a lot of day left and.
B
It will also be when I start seeing people get raptured. I'm going to know pretty quick if I want to be up there. I want to be down there. So we'll see.
A
You're going to know pretty quick.
B
A lot of the people who are like, the rapture is coming, like, I wouldn't want to hang out with you. You should be going to heaven. You should be going to heaven.
A
The party is going to be down here.
B
Yeah.
A
It's like, do I want to be burning with the cool people or up in heaven being boring with the.
B
It's one of those again. Like some of the people who swear they're going to heaven, you're like, if that's true, you're going to get down there and Satan's going to be like, yo, it's cool. We have a room for the Hitlers and stuff. Don't get me wrong, they're tortured. You're here because of that. It's fine. You're okay.
A
Yeah, you're okay.
B
What is this jacket? I like this jacket.
A
This is Little Nightmares 3. They got it from BNNCO. Shout out to BNNCO for sending the jacket. And it's probably one of my favorite.
B
Is there anything on the back?
A
Yeah, let's see the back.
B
Oh, this is good swag. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was expecting you to have the giant logo on the back, but no, I like. That's okay. Okay. Yeah, they took a swing on that because, like, you know, jackets are hard to fit sometimes.
A
Yes.
B
So you make a jacket. You make a bunch of those jackets and send to event. You never know what you're going to get.
A
As soon as I got it, I was like, all right, we'll see about this one. Because I feel like a good 70% of the time I get a jacket from like a PR package or whatever. I'm like, all right, this is either going to fit weird or it's going to be like a sleeves. Yeah. Short sleeves. Or like the kind of jacket. I have so many bomber jackets now.
B
Yeah.
A
And like, I like wearing bomber jackets.
B
But you don't like them. Like Tim likes them.
A
Yeah, exactly. And so it's like, okay, well, now I have an overabundance of jackets that I just don't want to wear. But this one I actually really like. This one feels different from a lot of the jackets I have usually. So I appreciate it.
B
Good.
A
Greg, are you. Are you excited for our big news day today?
B
What a huge news.
A
Very, very big news day.
B
So big that you were like, you know what? Slack me. We're changing up. You didn't say we're changing up. You said, can't change it up. And take all the Kojima stuff. Live reaction to OD physant conversation, everything else. Make that the games cast.
A
Yes.
B
And I said, blessing. That's a great idea. Round of applause every for blessing at a. Oh, yeah.
A
Thank. Yeah.
B
I don't think it's commented enough how good Blessing is at his job. It's been so. It's been such a joy to watch you mature in your career, grow into this role. And I know you don't. It's funny when you ask me stuff like, yeah, you know what to do. You know what the right thing is to do, do it. But you ask, which I appreciate, but you're really good at your job.
A
I appreciate it. I realized it today when I was prepping khd and I realized I was prepping two shows worth of khd.
B
Yeah.
A
That's how big the news day is. And so it's an exciting. I think this is an exciting pivot. And so if you're looking for a full conversation about PlayStation State to play happening tomorrow, you're going to get it on this show. If you're looking for the breakdown and live reactions to all of the Kojima stuff, there's an OD trailer, there's the Kojima Death Training 2 anime trailer, and there's just a whole Bunch of more Kojima Productions news. Look out for that on the Gamescast. But remember, this is kind of funny games. Listen, I'm great at this shit. Each and every weekday we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about live on YouTube, Twitch and on podcast services around the globe. If you love what we do, support us with the kind of funny membership on Patreon, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts. Get all of our shows ad free, watch us record them live and get a daily exclusive show for a chance to be a part of the show. Some of your thoughts and opinions as YouTube super chats as we go, some housekeeping for you. Because of tomorrow's state of play, our programming day starts 30 minutes earlier with KHD kicking off at 9.30am you know.
B
It will be live. Reacting to state of play at 2 o' clock is when that happens. We'll go on like 1:45, we'll go live. So we had to push everything up a little bit.
A
There you go. Remember, we're an 11 person business all about live talk shows. So today after KFGD like we just talked about, you're gonna get our games cast, which is all the Kojima news, the OD trailer reaction, new Fizzant news and more. And then after Gamescast is Water Park Simulator with Nick and Joey. If you're a kind of funny member, today's Greg way might be 24 minutes about heavy stuff, but we're waiting on a person's approval.
B
We got approval. Okay, so let's walk you through it real quick.
A
Yes.
B
Just to get you to this because it's a big news show already. Last week when I was in New York, I see Wiener, someone we know very well from all the chats and stuff super chatted in saying, hey, I got a tumor in my head and I might lose left side of my body and all. Like he wanted me to give him a pep talk, but I didn't know about that and I was gone and I hear about it till I saw it on the subreddit yesterday. So then I started a private conversation with him in email and we've been going back and forth but the problem is we've been going back and forth overnight and obviously all I can think about is that. So I wasn't ready for a bubbly Greg Way about bullshit today. And so I was like, damn. And then he asked a question serendipitously on email about like, hey, I want to know if you had this experience when you had cancer and it's about his friends and family's reaction to it. And I was. I. So I recorded a Greg Way that was personal to him. And I'm like, if you're cool with it, I'd love to put this live for everybody because you and I are talking as people who have had cancer and has cancer, right? But this would help out. I think a lot of people who have a friend or a family member who have cancer, I say catch cancer. You know what I mean? And he. He's like, yeah, no, totally. So that's going up now, of course.
A
Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Raisin Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have six stories today, starting with our number one. State of Play returns this Wednesday. That's tomorrow, September 24th. I'm pulling directly from the PlayStation Blog and I do have a super chat question for y'.
B
All.
A
What are your predictions for tomorrow's state of play? I need help with this one because I spent the whole morning prepping like I got nothing. Yeah, nothing. Well, I was like getting down to the wire where it's like 9:55 and I'm still at my desk finishing up games daily. And so I have a few predictions for myself, but I would love to see what people write in.
B
Here's what I got as I got a goddamn lock. Because one of our friends doesn't think that we would dime him out, but I'll dime his ass out.
A
Oh, no.
B
I'm going to send his assets, Kev. But now you do your thing. Sorry. This is when we get to predictions.
A
Jumping into the state of Play. To the PlayStation Blog post here. Tune in live this Wednesday for more than 35 minutes of reveals and news from developers around the world. We'll share new looks at anticipated third party and indie titles, plus updates from some of our teams at PlayStation Studios, including an extended look at Soros Housemarque's mysterious new title arriving next year. Look Forward to nearly five minutes of gameplay capture on PS5. The next day to play begins September 24th at 2pm Pacific Time. I mean, the place to start here is Soros. Do you have the same thing as me? Listen, because I wrote down a thing here that I want to reference, but.
B
No, I haven't got. No, no, no, no.
A
Okay.
B
It's just things have been moving fast this Morning. Yeah, so I got Ben out to school, right? I'm talking to Icy Wiener. Also hilarious that some people in the. Not this chat, but I saw elsewhere thought it was Icy Wiener. Like his name was a cold wiener. Not. I see it's an audio listener when it cash it out like that. Drove in, I did the Greg way, got in the door. You and me are planning content for today and tomorrow, moving things around, blah, blah, blah, blah.
A
Yeah.
B
When I went to pee before the show, I went on Instagram. Kevin, can you throw it up? And I was like, oh, what's going on Instagram? And I saw the state of play thing and there at the bottom I saw, oh, there's Rahul Kohli with the eyes.
A
Yeah.
B
And so when I was saying one of our friends, I was gonna dime him out, I was like, rahul, not understanding that on the blog they actually said they don't say anything in the little thing I saw. You know what I mean?
A
So I was like, fair. I got a scoop.
B
I got a scoop.
A
You thought you.
B
God damn it. Makes way more sense because also Xanth was in my inbox being like, can I. Can I come review Soros with you guys? I was like, yeah, probably. I don't know. We're talking about Sauros.
A
How unprofessional do you think Rahul Kohli is that he sees us? I know we know voice actors. I know. We know voice actors.
B
How unprofessional is Rahul Kohli?
A
Rahul. He seems like he knows what's up. He knows the business. I feel like he knows not. Not to say anything if he wasn't.
C
Allowed to say anything.
B
That's true. You're. He doesn't usually. He's not unprofessional that way.
A
Yeah.
B
It's the way he carries himself. His demean. His choice.
A
Yeah. His choices.
B
Girlfriends. God, don't get me started. Don't get me started.
A
So what do you think? What do you want to see from Sauros?
B
Fucking. I don't want to see what Sauros. I want to see Wolverine. Start at the top, God damn it. Show me Wolverine. Where the fuck's Wolverine? It's time. Even if we hadn't had the rumors, it'd be time. Now it is the day before reviews for Ghost of Yotei.
A
Yes.
B
Which is an interesting place to put it. I'm sorry, I'm just running over.
A
No, I appreciate this.
B
We've. The rumor had been obviously was it's a grubby one. I forget if Jeff Grubb started this or somebody else did last week. We talked about this though, the Wolverine thing. It's time to show Wolverine. But you also have to give Ghosts a little bit of a shine here. You're blasting presentation a week removed, right. It's October 2nd, right. For Ghost's actual release date, you've got to get out there. You got to say something about that. But then you. I think you end on Wolverine. You know what I mean? It's PlayStation Studios. Are there third party indies? That's, you know, the padding. Do you think we open with a Ghost? Do we open with sars?
A
Probably open with Sorrows, because that's five minutes.
B
Yeah.
A
But is that. I could also see that if you're closing with Wolverine, do you make Sorrows like the five minutes before it? Make that the thing of like, we know people are going to tune in for Sorrows. We want to stretch.
B
What are you open with then? You need something powerful in the beginning, right?
A
I mean, I'll just do a ghostly OT trailer.
B
See, I think you dropped that in the middle. I think that's a nice. Hey, remember everybody, this really cool shit's happening. Yeah, this, the game you've all been looking forward to is happening.
A
I can see it either way. I think these are. I mean, I think any PlayStation Studios title is eligible for opening or closing, even if it is out in a week or so or if it's out next year. Right. Like I. I could see arguments either way for putting either Sorrows or Ghostly in the beginning. I just think I'm with you that we get all three.
B
Yeah, yeah. You think Wolverine is guaranteed tomorrow?
A
Guaranteed is a very strong word. I think if we don't see Wolverine tomorrow, we have a problem. That's what I'll say.
B
Damn.
A
I think we better see Wolverine tomorrow.
B
I like that statement a lot. All right, cool, cool, cool.
A
And I think it would close.
B
And I. Yeah, oh yeah. Oh, yeah.
A
Because I think the question then becomes, if you look at the fine wording here, they do say we're going to get updates, plural updates from some. From some of our teams at PlayStation Studios.
B
So you figure Soros makes sense, right? They're coming out to talk about their game.
A
Yes.
B
You figure Insomniac makes sense. Then the big one will be Haven, who will come out and say, we're closed. No game. Hey, everybody, it's me from Haven. Not even Jade Raymond. She's gone. It's me, whoever I am at Haven and I'd like to announce we are having a garage sale for all the desks and computers.
A
You know what's funny is that Fair.
B
Games is not happening.
A
Right. When we sat down here, I was trying to do my quick like, okay, what predictions do I have? And I was trying to think of like, all right, I don't expect to see multiplayer games. What multiplayer games do we have left? And then Fair Games came to mind. But for some reason I was like, oh, that's canceled already. We had already canceled Fair Games.
B
There was rumors, remember, that there were. Oh, they closed the studio quietly. Or this and the other. And there was nothing about that.
A
Yeah. Now, I had written down no multiplayer, but then I deleted it because then I remembered one multiplayer game that was announced a while ago that I think it's. If this thing still exists.
B
Marathon.
A
No, absolutely not. No. Horizon. You remember this?
B
Yeah. Okay, so which one? The mmo. The multiplayer co op one.
A
This is the multiplayer co op1. I'm pulling from a tweet from December 16, 2022, December where Gorilla posted a tweet. Basically doing like a job listing. Thing of, hey, we're looking for this. For people to work specifically on a multiplayer thing where they say a new internal team is developing a separate online project set in Horizons Universe, featuring a new cast of characters and a unique stylized look. Friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together. That was December 2022.
B
Here's my thing on that one. I. If they're still doing, which I hope they are because we all love Monster Hunter here to some degree, this would be fun. I think the more probably less clunky control scheme. Right. That's what. One of the things you don't like about Monster Hunter is the menus and the things. I think they really have it dialed in. I don't think that one is a game you give a minute 32 trailer in a state of play. Like, I just. I don't think you do that here. I think that's a. Either a game awards trailer you drop. Or at a state of play in spring of next year, you give it a meteor section of like, here it is. And then here's Angie from Gorilla to tell you all about what's going on and what's happening in some of the mechanics. And we'll talk about it. You know, it's next year's game or whatever. I feel like you need to explain more than just show.
A
I agree with that.
B
Not Aloy and not Aloy running around doing things.
A
Like, if that ends up, let's say it's a 2026 game.
B
Sure.
A
I. I think you make a good point, especially coming off of the multiplayer stuff so far. You want to be able to talk about it in depth and I would hope, be able to drop it soon after you reveal it. I don't. I think you're right that I don't want to see an hour and a half or an hour, a minute and a half of this game.
B
Yeah.
A
And then have to wait until May of next year to see more or finally have a drop reveal.
B
Somebody explain what the fuck's going on. You know what I mean?
A
Like, that's been the problem.
B
Fact that they're talking about Soros with this level of detail, I assume. What. You know, the fact they're already saying that's the one that's coming out. I feel like they're committed to doing more with that than something else.
A
So then if we're saying that, are we then thinking no multiplayer stuff, no live service stuff from PlayStation first party?
B
Yeah, that seems safe. I think Fair Games is dead. I agree that Marathon. They haven't retooled whatever they need to retool to get us there. What was the final statement on that Marathon? After the beta, they were like, you.
A
Know what just delayed it. Right. I think that was the thing. They're like, we just have more. We have more we want to do with this thing.
B
Did they.
A
I forget the exact statement, but it was essentially, we have. We have. We want to work on it more.
B
See, I feel like then what you could do here is a. There's another Marathon beta or another play test, a new mode or something like that. I don't know shit about Marathon as you know. So, yeah, I'm.
A
The. The vibes on Marathon seems real down.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. So much so that I would keep it away from a state of play. Yeah.
B
I mean, don't get me wrong. If Herman's listening to me, if I'm in Herman's Head. There was a show called Herman's Head when I was a child. It was. It's very much inside out, but adult doesn't worry about it. Does anybody remember Herman's Head? Don't worry about it. Anyways, if I was there with Herman, I'd be like, fuck, yeah, we're never talking about this shit again. All this. Take it all out, throw it away. Fucking show. A cinematic from Intergalactic. I don't give a shit. You know what I mean? Like, have. There it is. Thank you. Oh, one of the Murray brothers was in it. Yeah, that's right. Violet's Archive remembers Herman Head. While we're here talking about things that I remember running on Fox late night. What was the tale Leone show when the in the theme song went, I'm not gonna work here, Darling.
A
Chat said, hell yeah, Herman left me.
B
Cause I ain't gonna work here no more. What's she remember? This one, it was like he was like a doctor or a lawyer and he went to like, the Bahamas and he met her and they got married. And then it was about. They're like, oh, it's kind of like Darman Greg. But it wasn't Darman Greg. You remember Darman Greg.
A
I know. I know of.
B
You know. Okay. Yeah. This is like a precursor to Darman Greg.
A
I think I remember darling.
B
Fair enough. Again, these are all things I shouldn't have been watching. Like, I want you to give you.
A
Like, how old are you?
B
Give you context. I'm like seven. Watching, like, one of my parents fall asleep and I have insomnia because I didn't work. I just played video games all day long. I didn't burn any calories.
A
Yeah.
B
I'm watching, like, what comes on after the news on Fox. I should not have been watching any of these shows. You know what I mean?
A
That's fair.
B
The naked truth. That does sound right, Jo.
A
I mean, I was watching I Love Lucy as a kid, so I understand.
B
Oh, that's way different, though. I love Lucy. Quality entertainment.
A
I mean, quality Lucy.
C
God.
A
You know, back.
B
Oh, man. Come on now.
A
Bring us back to 2001 on Nick @ night.
B
Anyways.
A
Yeah, where. Where do we stop here. I lost the plot if I was in Herman's head. Oh, yeah.
B
If you're in that player out. Let's reaffirm that. We are fucking PlayStation, right? Oh, no. That was a tale Leone show. Yes, but that's not the one I was looking for. Thank you for flying blind. That everybody's saying flying. That might be it. Yeah. So I would be very much like, this is who we are known for. Here's an. I mean, like, I'm at this point even pitching a PlayStation.
A
Like a rebrand or not.
B
That was a showcase where I'm bringing out the big guns. But I think right now, you got it locked. If you're going to say, start with Soros, end with Wolverine, remind everybody that Ghost is out next week. I think PlayStation first party is carrying it.
C
Right.
A
We see anything.
B
Team of Sophie sounds about right.
A
Astrobot feels wrapped up after the last dlc. You play through it and it has a sense of finality. But we say that every single time about Astrobot now, could it be an Astrobot spin off, a different, smaller title? It seems like they really like their quick, small titles that they can put out.
B
I would say no. I think you let. Unless that's like imminent. Which I also would say no, don't do. I think you let that chill.
A
Yeah.
B
Again, if you're doing some kind of weird spin off, I think you do a PlayStation showcase next year or just another state of play to start off the year and talk about that there.
A
Fair enough.
B
The interesting thing is, I know we've talked about this a lot last year leading into this year, but just to repeat the conversation here as we start to stack the deck for 2026, what do you do by GTA? You know we're talking about Soros. Okay, so Saros is coming out between January and May or. No, April. Probably even give it more room than that.
A
You feel like, is that soon?
B
I do. I think if you're coming out, I think it's going to be probably a February March.
A
Wow. Yeah, I hope so.
B
I'd love that. But again, you want to. I mean, you definitely have to get that out before GTA comes in and soaks up everything, right? Yeah, but we're already talking about a year that's going to be jammed up with stuff doing the exact same thing.
A
Yeah. Yeah, I think you're right. Especially thinking about if Wolverine really does come next year.
B
I think that's another huge one of where do you put Wolverine?
A
I think. I think that's a fall. Yeah, I think that's one that like in a year of gta, you get it far enough, like after it and it survives. It's fine. Right? Like it does. It does. Well, I think sorrows when you get into the latter half of next year might start to drown. And like when you talk about the fall releases or even if you just talk about post gta, everybody has that on their mind. For the. For the rest of the year. I think Wolverine survives that way better than a Thanos.
B
Sure. 100%. May 26th. And you figured you put Wolverine out in September, like GTA still on top of the NPD or Circana numbers. Right. For the rest of the year.
A
But when is that Marvel Tolkon fighting Souls coming out?
B
Is that dated?
A
I think it's just. I think it just has a year.
B
Feel like that's another one. Yeah. Where they're just like working on it. It's on Game informers list for 2026.
A
Is that one as PlayStation, since you're publishing both that and Wolverine. Do you look at the two Marvel games and go, we want to make sure these have enough space from each other. Or do you care? Because they're such different.
B
I think they're different audiences, but I also. This is gonna sound crazy. Stick with me. I. If I'm at PlayStation doing this, I'm not so worried about Marvel versus GTA Mar token.
A
Oh, sure, sure.
B
Fighting game community is gonna show up for that in a way that, like, you're not. I mean, like, yeah, you'd love that to break out and do a Marvel Rivals kind of move, but, like, you know better than me if they're actually building a game that. That is gonna be that approachable to people like me.
A
Oh, to like, as. Like Marvel Rivals?
B
Yeah.
A
I mean, as much as I love fighting games, support fighting games. Like, no, like, it's not going to be Marvel Rivals, but it will be the talk of the town of the fighting game community. Right. Like, it will be a Marvel versus Capcom, like, esque experience. And I think with that, you want as much oxygen as possible. Like, I think I disagree a little bit with the GTA thing. Not in the sense that, like, of course, extremely different games and the fighting game audience.
B
I'm not saying go day to day with it.
A
Oh, for sure, for sure. But I do think that. And I think this is just valid for any video game. Get away from GTA in the sense of you want any oxygen you can get. I think Marvel Fighting Souls has such a chance to be. To have like a spark. Right. To have to take over the week of conversation. I think a Tim Gettys will pick up Marvel to Fighting Souls. Right. Like, I think the casual person that might be open to fighting games will check out a Marvel Token Fighting Souls. And with that, like, you don't want to let something like GTA get in the way.
B
Sure. So do you put it out before or after you played it too? How ready do you think that.
A
Oh, I think it's.
B
Is it actually next year?
A
I think it's for sure actually next year. I think you also. You put it out before EVO because you want people to compete at that.
B
When's evo?
A
Evo? Well, this upcoming EVO is June.
B
Okay.
A
So maybe you do. Damn, that's tough. Yeah, I think you put it out same time frame they were talking about with Sorrows. Right.
B
January through start of the year.
A
Yeah, yeah. Now, they mentioned third party. Is there anything that comes to mind immediately for third party?
B
I mean, a third party is when I Start just looking at the rest of the year because I feel like that's when you go, okay, well who's still got stuff to put out this year that would want to come out and do something? Are you going to see Call of Duty Battlefield? Something like that? I could see them.
A
Yeah, Battlefield makes sense.
B
I can see them giving them some kind of area there, like, all right, we'll go talk about your stuff there. You're gonna laugh at me, but. Well, I mean, Jurassic World Evolution 3, that's the kind of shit I could see getting. We have somewhere we got to put places, you know, whatever indies is interesting of what indies you'd put over there and do do with that. I, I again am speaking from a place of love and anger. Dexter literally stole the words from my mouth. But Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Oh, where the fuck is the release date for that? I assume this is a. He's guessing the release date over there, but where the fuck is the release date for Marvel Cosmic Invasion? I got screwed by not having it at this switch direct, which I thought was a no brainer. Yeah, they still say 2026. I'm sorry, 2025. So this. You're running out of months. This is a great chance to do that again, get it to a another new audience. It does get not weird, but are we gonna see both Marvel Fighting Game and Marvel Cosmic Invasion there? I doubt it. So I don't know if we'd actually see Token in fighting. Am I saying right? Yeah, I don't know.
A
Token Fighting Souls. Yeah. Resident Evil Requiem. I think that's given. Maybe we even see Pragmata again, which I'm fine with. Right. You got. You want to market that those Capcom games.
B
And that's another interesting wrinkle that we're not really thinking about because we're just ranting and raving, which is great. But we are in the middle of tgs. TGS is happening right now.
A
That's a good point.
B
This isn't coincidence that this is happening at the same time as tgs. So yes, you're right. We should think more of some Japanese developers that would have beats. So Pragmata makes a lot of sense. Res Evil. I'm not saying is played out, but I. I've seen enough of Resident Evil to be like, I'm in. Get me the game. I don't know if I need another trailer right here, but Pragmata. I could see getting a deeper look. That could be cool chat.
A
What's the name of the game that. That's the name of the Game that me, Tim and Andy. We see the trailer every now and then. It has like action adventure vibes but also kind of like some Shadow Shadow Colossus vibes. But also it like looks like like a modern new action game that we see like a black myth Wukong sometimes where it's like damn, that seems fucking phantom blade. 0 not fan. No. But also that's a good call. I think that's a good call for.
B
Tomorrow off this indie thing. As I scroll through game informer.com 2025 for the rest of the year one jumps off the page at me. November's Goodnight Universe. This is the one from spiritual successor to before your eyes or whatever. Maybe it actually just is that whatever. But it's from the same people who made before your eyes the game we loved. Jen loved I cried in VR. I could see them having a thing here that's an indie. Big enough to have something there.
A
Chat. Got it. Tides of Annihilation. That's the one that I'm thinking of.
B
We got a bunch of Yakuza coming up and didn't they.
A
They did the.
B
They leaked their own game right away.
A
Three they have the art. But that's. I think that's coming at the RGG summit which I hear you but I.
B
Don'T think that disqualifies it from having a trailer at PlayStation.
A
True. Yeah. Run it back back to back. I think that might even be tonight or tomorrow. The rgb.
B
Yeah, I think it's tonight. We've gotten press releases about it.
A
We have a whole bunch of super chats coming in. Traveler 0 oh yeah. That's a good one. We were just talking about it. But Dexter Schwarzler says also Marvel Cosmic invasion. They say 12-12-2026. I think that's just a prediction and I think they mean 2025. There's better if Mark not fucking beating.
B
The shit out of people as Spider man and Venom by the end of the year we got problems.
A
Let me tell you about this game called Marvel Token Fighting Souls. You might like it. Marshiro writes in and says Soros Wolverine 2d God of War. Which is actually a really good shout out because that was a big prediction.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Around June for the state of play there and there are multiple people talking about it including me. And we're all surprised when it didn't show up. So I think that's a good shot for that. They say. They also say usually we get one thing we haven't seen yet. Could it be Venom? Since Insomniac are psychos. Horizon Multiplayer until dawn to no way on Venom. I agree.
B
They'd be like, the audience will be like, what the fuck's going on with Wolverine? Yeah, like, don't show his Venom. You know what I mean? Like, the only way that would be justifiable and this would not happen is if you did the Wolverine and it was a deep dive on gameplay. And then it ended with a date. Start the show with that and it ends with an actual date for 2026. We're like, fuck, that's amazing. And then at the end, you can tease Venom like, oh, my God, insomniac. VIP is not VIPs MVPs.
A
Yeah. Even then I'm like, let's get to Wolverine first. Like, I'll believe it when I see.
B
It, when I see it.
A
Because if they see a date, they're. I don't imagine they're saying, like, in April or March, right? I imagine they would be talking about next September. And I'm like, well, I'll believe that when I see it. Right? And they also mentioned until dawn too, which is something that I keep predicting and keep, like, waiting for to happen. I don't think that's happening now. That strikes me. And this is. I think this is just the we always want horror games to come out in October thing. So I look at that and I'm like, oh, save it for next year. That way you can announce it in the summer and have it come out in October.
B
Real quick, Should I doordash Wolverine clause, you think? Because I'm. We should. Because I can dress up then.
A
Yeah, probably.
B
Yeah.
A
That's actually a really good idea.
B
Wolverine. That sounds like a good move. That's a good way to invest all the Patreon money back.
A
Yeah. Nando Tarisi says Wolverine teaser and a dedicated state of play, full reveal. I mean, you're gonna get a dedicated Wolverine state of play, but I don't think you're gonna get that anytime soon. That's probably gonna be sometime next year. Relish Police says Greg free shiny legendary Pokemon in Scarlet Violet right now.
B
My God.
A
Zeke Speak says, get Alana to review Sorrows for kf. Feel like it's a conflict of interest.
B
I like it, though.
A
I mean, I'll talk to a lot of about about Sorrows for sure.
B
I feel like she'd be harder on Rahul than anybody. You know what I mean?
A
I mean, that's. Honestly, I would believe that. Kebab says, I predict another Direct Style video next week. And then arsonist 1216 says, My prediction is PlayStation Home. Two for PSVR too.
B
God, can you imagine?
A
How many PSVR games do we see tomorrow?
B
Zero.
A
They stop saying it in the. In the fucking PlayStation blog.
B
I mean, it's always the chance that it's going to be one of those that pops up and it's like, first person. It's like PlayStation or PlayStation VR kind of shit, but otherwise, nah, you're fine.
A
And then one more. One more wholesome one here from Anna Gentry, who writes in and says, first time commenter, long time viewer. Just want to say I recently came out. Came out as trans and this community helped show that there are still loving and accepting people out there. Love you all. Also, Greg sucks. Congratulations, Anna. That's beautiful. Greg's taking the Greg sucks thing to heart. It hurt.
B
It hurt because this was such a positive one. You know what I mean? I was gonna say so many nice things to Anna. Congratulations. I'm glad you're living your best life. I. I still think the overwhelming majority of people are good people. But then there's people like you, Anna, who say something nice in the very end. Twist the knife. But I understand what it's like to look at a person who led Team Blue to three straight Game Showdown championships, of course won the Nick Scarpino Outback Steakhouse Award for that season. Then of course, won a star in the first episode of Kind of Funny Game Showdown.
A
He did? Yeah.
B
I'm on a tear, brother.
A
On a tear. You're one episode in. You're on a tear.
B
I'm just letting you know I just named all three. The other three.
A
That's true. I guess that's true. I guess that's true. Jayon.
B
Fuck.
A
You ain't to bring up the spirits here, Jayon. Expedition says personally, this is my favorite KF duo. Come on.
B
Behold G Spot.
A
Behold G Spot. You gotta love it. And then Aaron Lime, we'll close it out with this one. Says Dark Horse Candidate. Do we see anything from Fuhito Ueda's next game? Ooh, our new game. Is that the. I forget the name of it. Right. But that's like the mech game coming out of. I forget what the gen design, I believe is what the. What it's called now.
B
Okay.
A
Used to be Team ico.
B
Okay.
A
So it was announced at Game Awards, if you remember.
B
Vaguely. Couldn't pick it out of a lineup.
A
Project Robot. Thank you, Chat. I could pick it out of a lineup because I'm a big fan.
B
Yeah, I know you are.
A
But also, I don't think we see anything from that. Yeah, it seems anytime soon. I hope we do because I really want to see more of that game and know what it's about. But that that team likes to take their time. Took a long time for us to get last year.
B
They like to just chill out and take the time.
A
Somebody here it kind of funny took their time to review Baby Step which I want to talk about in a moment. But before we get there I want to talk to you about patreon.com kindafunny and YouTube.com kinda funnygames where you can go and get the Kinda Funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. A
I don't know what you're talking about.
B
He's talking about Soul Stone.
C
Could be the Soul Ring. Remember, it's Thanos and he's doing this. That's the one everybody wants.
A
Yeah, but isn't that like a different pack that's on the Spider man one?
C
No, I thought that was in the Spider Man.
B
All right, back to you.
A
Okay.
C
All right, we'll talk about it.
A
Yeah, we got it. We'll figure it out.
C
I'll tell you what, Greg. Magic's on the mod.
A
I know Magic is on the mind.
C
Let me tell you what. On Saturday I told this to blast. We were going to do Sunday too. Had a giant me and me and Bless together. And on Saturday I went to bed and I closed my eyes and I was dreaming about Magic. I could see the cards laid out on the table. I was picking different matchups. I was thinking about combos to tell Bless about. I had so much fun with it.
A
Yeah. God, what a game.
B
What a game. What a game.
A
What a game.
C
What a game.
A
Can Magic the gathering be my 2025 game of the year? Barrett might have to deal with it. We'll see.
B
You just put the Spider man thing on there and you're fine.
A
Story number two. We got a Baby Steps review roundup for you right now on Metacritic it is sitting at the 77. On OpenCritic, it's at a 75. Travis Northup at IGN gave it a 9 out of 10 and says, I wasn't expecting one of my favorite games of 2025 to be about a socially awkward blob in a stained onesie with such poor motor skills that he rag dolls to the ground on the slightest of uneven surfaces. But here we are. Baby Steps is a triumph triumphant, quirky physics game that asks you to challenge yourself, both with alluring hiking obstacles that had me screaming to the heavens and a shockingly unconventional story and characters that ended up feeling like family by the end. Despite centering itself around intentionally awkward controls, it has a deceptive level of depth that made me eager to master it, and I got incredibly lost in the sauce as I tried to best its most daunting challenges. If you like a good laugh, extreme difficulty, or just hate yourself, then I can't recommend Baby Steps enough Robert Percheese at Eurogamer gave it a four out of five and says Baby Steps walks a fine line between frustration and accomplishment to provide a walking simulator and climbing experience quite unlike anything else. And then lastly, Ethan Krieger at Dualshockers gave it a 4 out of 10.
B
And I'm looking at the Metacritic. Here's where it all goes wrong because it's all, all green here, right? 90, 90, 80, 80, 80. A 70, a 70, a 65. A 60, a 40.
A
A 40 from dual shockers who says I tried hard to be in one. I tried hard to be in on the joke of Baby Steps for the first hour but it lost me insanely quickly. The thing is, I don't, I don't think it even cares. The copiness of the movement actually. The copiness of the movement actually is well done. And there are some moments of absurdity. That worked for me. It then shifts, it then just shifts too far from a stupid but fair rage game to a stupid but cheap feeling rage game with no redeeming qualities. You'll painfully wander aimlessly for hours. You'll cringe hard at the humor. They put humor in quotes. That gets way too gratuitous, gross and vulgar. Completely unjustifiably. This becomes a mostly mean spirited game that once that even wants to drive you insane with the soundtrack. Laugh and watch someone else experience it if you want to, but do not play it yourself. Mike, you have been reviewing Baby Steps. What are your thoughts on the game blessing?
C
Greg I had a really great time with Baby Steps. I fell in love with this game. This game is a ton of fun to play and it's also super weird to the point where I need to talk to somebody. I'm going to call up Bennett Foddy on the phone and I got to ask him some questions asked if you wanted an interview. I would love to see that because there's some really weird stuff in this game. But at its core behind the physics based adventure game that it is, it is really really fun. You take the world of Nathan. He's a 35 year old living in his parents basement watching One Piece. He gets teleported sounds a lot like.
B
You, kind of funny best friends.
C
And it is his goal to you know, go out there and find the path and take his own path and you'll meet a bunch of crazy characters along the way. You'll say to yourself what the heck is going on here? But at its core you'll love the challenge of course finding the different paths along the hiking Trails going out and exploring this giant ocean open world that is just as one large mountain that circles all the way around. I've walked the whole entire mountain in a full circle to see what happens. Doctor me, Greg.
B
I got so many questions. You and me played this at gdc. We loved it and it's hilarious that they made, they made Hollow Night inside their thing. We enjoyed it. It was funny. All the, you know, all the VO's ad libbed and it's this and it's that. And I liked what I played when review code came around. It's review season. We are all on different projects. We're all getting ready for a million different reviews. I got it and I wasn't disappointed that I couldn't tackle it right away. I found it because I sat there and I was like, well, is this one of those games that demos really well and it's a funny demo for the 30 minutes, but I don't want to put. How many hours you put into it?
C
13 hours.
B
13 hours in it or is there something more to it? Is there is the narrative? Like what made you enjoy the 13.
C
Hour long experience, the exploration and the wow factor of. I don't only have to stick on the path now, mind you, the Golden Path. There's multiple paths to get up to the top of the summit. But while you're going on this adventure, you will see different points of interest along this open world mountain, right. That you'll say, oh, I want to go do that. And there are all these fun little challenges. Maybe you climb to the top of this small challenge, you'll get a little cute hat that Nathan will wear. Or you'll climb to the top of a tree and you'll grab a piece of fruit. Or you'll get this awkward first person kind of helmet down. GoPro camera angle of him eating a fruit. Very awkward, very funny. But there's a lot of these challenges that say, hey, like let's smell the flowers. Let's take a little bit of time here and enjoy. We don't have to go just to the summit unless you want to. And that's where I started to find a lot of the love was like I was crushing it. Greg. Okay, there I was, watch out for this beautiful dog. There I was stepping Greg. And I'm. You learn your first baby step.
B
You got to go, Jim, when you're going out. Get me Jim. Kev.
C
And so you start doing the QoP, right? And shout out to Bennett Foddy. We're going to talk about Bennett Foddy. In a little bit because I love that he uses his name because you immediately go to some of the games he's created. Kwop Getting over it with Bennett Foddy. He had a great 2019 GDC panel with him and another developer about encouraging indie game devs to put their names on the title of their games so their audience can start understanding them and talking to them. Loved that.
B
Throw a timeout real quick. We definitely have people in the car who aren't going to be able to see you and maybe don't even understand what QOP is. What are you doing?
A
You know what KWAP is?
B
There's definitely people listening.
A
You know what? Quad?
C
No, no, never.
A
Is this an age thing? I feel like a co op was.
C
Like a fucking web based.
A
Yeah, that's like you have to run.
C
100 meter yard track and field Dash.
A
It's a flash game where you're using just the KW and op. But yes, to move each little. To move pieces of this legs almost stick figure like.
B
There you go. Nitrogen mustard. Didn't know. So we're helping you.
A
Okay.
C
And so yeah, that was Quaff.
B
So that was the big breakout hit.
A
I don't see what the.
B
Making the guy walk is a. Is the game unto itself because it's not just normal.
C
Exactly. So you are using the L2 R2 to take your left foot and your right foot, right? So every time you hold, he'll step forward and when you let go, he'll. He'll lift up. Oh, no, when you. Yeah, when you let go, he'll step up. So you. You're following the motion of like. You'll get into this really good rhythm on flat ground of your full. You'll feel the full R2L2 pulls of left, right, left, right, right. And then the fun part is as you go up this mountain, you'll encounter different terrain on this hiking trail, right? Whether it be mud, just dried up land, sand, snow. And each one of those make you think, okay, well I should be using a different kind of step here. So when you get to the icy snow, you want to take small penguin steps, right? You want to keep it tight because you don't want to lose your balance doing this. And then doing the splits, Right.
A
Bless.
C
And then when you get up to the sand, the sand is going to start moving underneath your feet. So I started taking wider angled steps to try to get up in the sand, right.
B
The way this man's shoes sound like they're sticking like Spider Man.
C
And so there I was having so much fun learning these challenges, right? And then I'd go off to the side and there'd be a fun challenge. Like there's a bridge or there's a mine cart track, right? And you're following the little planks underneath the railroad mine cart, right? And then it's like, oh, guess what? The planks are gone. What are you gonna do, Greg? You're gonna walk on the rail. And so then I'm tippy toeing on the rail to get across this, right? But then, get this, my mind was blown. So you meet a bunch of cast and crew, different characters all over the place. You meet Mike.
B
He was funny.
C
And Mike, he's funny. He's a badass. He's out there hiking. He's a noob. But then he becomes a veteran. Mike says, I'm going to the train car challenge. And I said, God damn it, Mike, what is that? It's exactly what you think. Think uncharted. Think Mission Impossible. It's a train car hanging off the side of a cliff. And so at first, I'm going in and I'm doing my normal. I'm taking large steps to try to put my feet on briefcases, to put my feet on different couches and train seats, right? And like, I'm getting up to the first part, but then I get to the second part of the challenge, which a little more angled, and I can't get it. And then my mind explodes, right? It's like I can now get up on this suitcase, but I can turn my body and I can start stepping vertically. So now I'm up on top of things and I'm moving like this, and I'm on top of the rail card seats, and I'm climbing over them, and my mind starts exploding with the idea of the different things that I can do in this 3D space, right? And now I'm having so much fun. And so I've reached the top of the summit. I'm looking for my buddy, and we get into the weird stuff. And that's why I like attaching the name Bennett Foddy to it, right? Because if you think of Bennett Foddy, you think of Kwop, but you also think of getting over it with Bennett Foddy, where he added dialogue into the game that would kind of talk with the player, and he would talk about the challenges that he made. And then at the very end, he talks to you directly and says like, hey, thank you for playing my game. Thank you for getting over it with me. Yeah, it's like oh, that's really cool. And so I started looking him up because at first he was like, what's a Bennett Foddy game? Is that like some term we made up? And then I was like, oh, it's a human being. I started looking him up and he had some really interesting stuff. Right. He was born in New York, then he moved to Australia. So there's that Australian humor that we heard. Kind of like Flight of the Concords, New Zealand, Australia. You get that tone, right?
B
Yeah.
C
Okay. Like, like I'm picking it up. But then there's like this theme going on of like this 35 year old man named Nathan who's taken bong rips in his parents basement.
A
Right.
C
But there's something more to it that I want to talk with him about. But he is he like, do I.
B
Need to book this man? You should do a stream with him where you interview.
C
I would love to talk with him because it was very interesting.
B
I'm gonna get you on an email with his people.
C
But he studied, he became a moral philosopher on topics of drug addiction. And so there's this weird part of.
A
I didn't know that about pedophile.
C
Yeah. And so like there's this theme going on that clearly like ties to him and his personal life and like, you know, the drug addiction stuff that I don't want to spoil, I want you to go explore and learn about. But like there was like moments where I'm like, what the hell is going on here? What are we doing? And so yeah, I really, really liked this game. 8 out of 10 on the kind of funny scale. It's a great experience. It's going to be great for streamers out there. If you want a rage game where you fall over, laugh with your audience. If you're just a fan of like these fun physics space games and you want to kind of just take a hike at your own leisurely pace, go out there and play it. You're going to find your own way to step and have a really good time. And then as well, I played this probably five hours on the Steam deck. It is Steam deck verified day one and it runs very well. So yeah, if you want something on the go, if you fall in love with this game and just want more of it, go check it out on the Steam deck because it runs really, really well on that. And so yeah, the, you know, my only, I wouldn't even call it a negative but the one thing that did annoy me was the music. You know, I believe Ethan puts it in there. There's an odd soundtrack in here. There's a very odd. Like, it's supposed to be something. You got to ask him what the thought process was because it's just noises, Greg. It goes from dead silence or, like, some really soft ambient noise of you and your feet. And you can, like, you're picturing yourself on the hiking trail to then just, like, really weird sounds. Like, Greg, it's like you're smashing two trash cans. Blessing is now quacking like a duck. And I'm like, ooh, ah, ah, ah, ah. All those sounds.
B
I love that. That sounds great. If that was skate, I'd be holding on L3.
A
Yeah. Grab that music right there.
C
It's invading your brain and, like, ah, shut this stuff up. And so, like, there's part of me that's like. That was, like, throwing me off my game. But did he want me to throw me off my game?
B
He did.
C
Why didn't he put, like, a soft soundtrack in there? What's the thought process there? So really the only thing I didn't like, I guess, was the soundtrack at the end. But sometimes I liked it, sometimes I didn't. There's some challenges that I want to go back to, right? I'm at the summit right now. I'm at the very end of this game. I'm going to finish this, but I want to go back. There's a challenge in there that I want to complete, and I want to be able to say, snowbike Mike did this, right? This is one of those. When Tim Gettys beat Cuphead and put it on his Twitter profile or his blue sky, his bsbs. Tim, I want to do that. I want to beat this challenge because this challenge is super badass inside of this game. So there's a bunch of fun challenges. This game is a ton of fun. If you know what you're getting into, you're gonna love it. It's a beautiful, open world, a lot of challenges, a lot of paths to take. A really weird story, some fun characters, some odd characters. All in all, I had a great time with this. I was surprised that I loved it as much as I did. I was surprised that I keep thinking about it. I don't know why I kept spending 13 hours in it, but I'm going to go back for more.
B
Could you have gotten through it faster?
C
Yeah, definitely. I think they said, like, eight hours if you main path it. But I mean, at the same time, what. What's eight hours to them to eight hours to me as a noob, right? I'm still learning and growing, but I got up there. I mean if, if I think I'm at, at the end where I'm at, you could probably haul ass and get up there within that eight hours maybe. But there's so much to do, there's so much to see and there's going to be so much failure that you'll have, that you'll have to overcome and get better at. But yeah, from all the different biomes and different path and trail conditions, there was some really fun stuff. I really enjoyed it. I loved learning the, the feet and the movement of like I think of a river and I think of just post hanging out of the river and you have to go like one foot to the other foot. And I got really good at the quick step. Bless. Right where it's like I know I want to put one foot down, but I quickly want to take another step and I want to get up right. So it was like a really fast movement. You would have to play with the triggers. You'd also be playing with your kind of weight above your top part of your body with the stick there. So yeah, really good. Really good. Really good. Play this game. Really good.
B
Play this game. Baby steps.
A
Hell yeah. That's a great review, Mike. Thank you so much for that.
C
Thank you.
A
Don't leave just yet. I got a super chat for you. Riku San Rosen writes in and says so that Trails in the sky remake I recommended to Blessing is sitting at a 91 on Metacritic. Snow White Mike deserves a W for trying out the demo and falling in love. Mike, sell him on this top tier jrpg.
B
Whoa.
C
Bless. Are you looking to take an old school JRPG journey? No. Okay, let me tell you what. It might be time to open up your heart and give this a try because I really liked this. I didn't think I was gonna dig it. Of course these are two, you know. Well, the young boy gets saved by the dad, then he's got a daughter, they become best friends, they become adventurers. Maybe the dad is like the number one super soldier and they wanna become part of the soldier unit. They go out, they get a job, they become soldiers. Right? That's the lead up to where we're going. But it's got this really cool blend of real time combat into turn based combat where you can hack and slash and you can just, you can smash X AKA square or triangle or Y on different things. But then you can be like stop turn into turn based combat. Right? So you get this advantage using the real time combat. Then you turn into turn based combat, which has a really fun flow. It's super fast. It's really cool. Fun characters, good world. I'm into this game.
A
Hell yeah. All right. I appreciate that sales pitch, Mike.
B
You're going to play that game.
A
No, but. And it's not anything against the game. It's more so JRPGs just take time.
B
Yeah.
A
And this takes me back to last year. I played. I played Metaphor and I played Persona 3 reload last year. And that's like 200 hours of game time. So this year I was like, I'm taking a break. But I appreciate that. I'll look into it before I leave.
C
One more skated last night. Skate or die, dude.
B
I am reviewing Ghost of Yote, right? Yeah. Review Thursday. Everybody get hyped. My eyes start to get drowsy and I'm like, I'm not gonna do this game a disservice. I'm gonna go to bed. It's 11:15.
A
Yeah.
B
And I'm like, but what if I just do one run escape. Let's cold beans cuddled up next to me. I jump in, I do the run. I look at the time. It is now 1207. God damn it.
A
I've been finding the urge because I've also been reviewing things and like the skate urge is real.
B
It's going to be a bad when we get a gap in review season. It's gonna be bad for me of how much skate I'm about to play.
A
Like the streams and skate together.
C
So last night I always invite the audience to come play with me. I keep the party open. They play for me. That's the secret. I don't know if you know, but the challenge is you can get a four player challenge and if bless gets four stars, you get four stars. So I just tell them you play. You know what I mean?
B
You can play for me the classic M move. Yeah.
C
And so I turn the music down. I turn up the earth, wind and fire radio. Cuz you know, we had to be some funk and we're getting funky out there. This game rocks, man. A lot of naysayers, a lot of people love title and I get it.
B
You know, you were some of them.
C
We were worried about about this early access live service. But at the core of it, it's just fun to play and the world is good. It's got everything I want from super rails to mega jumps. It's got fun street skating. I enjoy it. I hope that they add more. But like as of right now, we got a good game on our hands.
B
It's funny how you're like, yeah. You're like, oh man. In the review Gamescast, I really listen to it. You're like, yeah, you know, I burned through it all. I did all the challenge or whatever. And like last night I turned it on. It's like the clock's like you. And it doesn't say this, but you and Ben have played like four hours, five hours. And we're still in the tutorials because we just run and skate. We're not even doing the thing. I'm like, oh man.
A
Yeah, so much boxes to unlock.
C
I was like, man, I did everything. And then I show up the next day and they're like, here's 12 more challenges. I'm like, oh, I got a lot to do.
A
Mike, thank you so much for joining us.
C
Thank you.
A
Let's move on to story number three. PlayStation Trophies will now unlock the ability to purchase real life merchandise.
B
Why am I in this? Why am I in. I want to do this so bad.
C
I looked at the stuff like I.
B
Don'T really want to buy.
A
Is this not what we've been asking for for a very long time? Out of trophies?
B
I mean, well, make them matter.
A
Make them do something cool. Something.
B
Yeah.
A
This is from Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. PlayStation has launched me franchise rewards which will allow players to purchase exclusive merchandise if they've earned the corresponding in game trophy. Kicking off with Ghost of Tsushima players who have earned the mono no aware Manon I think that's what it is. Gold or the Living Legend Platinum trophies and Ghost of Tsushima by December 31 can unlock access to a selection of limited edition merchandise. To be eligible for the program, players must earn the required trophies in game and then head to the Ghost rewards store@ghostrewards.PlayStation.com in order to purchase the items. Ghost Rewards are available to ship to players in the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe and the UK. PlayStation says that availability outside of these regions may be introduced at a later date. Players who earned the Living Legend Platinum trophy with a connected PlayStation account in Ghost of Tsushima by December 31st can purchase a commemorative pin featuring the same artwork featured on the platinum trophy icon. The commemorative pin RRP is $25. T shirt is available for players who have achieved the this is the one that I can't pronounce the mono. No, I'm going to say aware.
B
Yeah.
A
Gold trophy in Ghost of Tsushima with a connected PlayStation account by December 31, 2025. The commemorative t shirt is 30 bucks. Only one of each item may be purchased per account. According to PlayStation Ghost of Yote themed rewards will be introduced later this year. Again, I absolutely love this.
B
Yeah, yeah. Again, I look at this shirt, I don't even fully understand what's happening in it, but I'm gonna do it because then you watch this show and you'll see me in this shirt, be like, oh, Greg did it. Which you already knew that I had the platinum in this. Whatever my thing is. Like, I'm not a pin guy, so the platinum doesn't do for me. But whenever they're like, you can get a platinum trophy when I can order the platinum trophy. But what? It's just crazy that it's taken this long to happen. They finally have it and it's up here and it's still this ridiculous thing of like you click on. It's like the estimated shipping time is two to three months or you have to earn it by the end of the year. Purchase by the end of January. Yeah, I'm gonna do it because I want to do it just for the lulz.
A
Yeah.
B
But I'm excited. I'm excited to see them hopefully continue this. Not do what they normally do with PlayStation stuff where they have an idea and then drop it. Just fucking let it die in the vine. This could be cool. There could be cool shit. It's goofy, it's fun. It's a good way to celebrate it. The shirt isn't bad.
A
Yeah, the shirt's fine. It's a shirt. It's a graphic tee. Let's move on to story number four. Power devs announced a Farming Sims spin off Power PAL Farm. This is from Rebecca Valentine at ign. Power World is getting its first ever official spin off game from developer Pocket Pair. And it's looking just a little bit cozier than the original game. It's called palworld Pal Farm. And as the name implies, you and your gaggle of pals will be farming, crafting and living a life on the land together on an adventure that looks far more Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley than Palworld. PocketPair announced the game today with a brand new trailer and a Steam page. These reveal that Pal Farm will be a slice of life farming and crafting sim set on the Palpagos Islands, where familiar pals will join you to build a dream farm alongside growing plants. You can cook with pals, shop at their stores, give them gifts and no, no, you can eat them.
B
Oh, no, he says, no, no, you can eat.
A
No, I read that wrong. It Is. No, no, you can't eat them.
B
Okay, okay.
A
I got excited there. Of course not. Not this time. They're farming buddies, not food. While Pal Farm does seem to be more focused on the cuddlier aspects or. Yeah, cuddlier aspects of life with pals, including allowing the player to pet pals and even get married to other humans, with Pals matchmaking and officiating, it's not without its edges. The trailer includes a look at a black market where. Where you can, yes, get a gun. Notably, the trailer showed off a number of pals that you can join to help help on the farm, including what seems to be B1 unannounced new pal Sekhmet, that's working with Anubis as a blacksmith. The Steam page also makes makes it clear that multiplayer will be an option. Pal Farm doesn't have a release date yet and so far only appears to be in development for PC via Steam. Though given power world trajectory, it's possible other platforms are in the cards for later on. So they're making an animal crossing here. Looks like.
B
Yeah. In more detail than a lot of different ways or whatever. It's interesting again to see this IP that's so, so much turmoil around copyright infringement come out with something else that's just like. Well, now we're going to go after this game and Harvest Moon and everything else. Like okay, yeah, okay.
A
I do love the man. Even the text box here looks like Animal Crossing.
B
But then you have the Tom Nick's always put a gun to his head.
A
Yeah. I. Very interesting to see a company that is being chased after by Nintendo for copyright here be like, yeah, and we're going to do an animal crossing with it too. Come at us. Very interesting stuff. I expect this is you pretty well.
B
Oh yeah.
A
Just based off.
B
Based on the original PAL world. And then. Yeah, the way people have flocked to these kind of games before. It looks great.
A
Let's move on to story number five, which is a very interesting one. I just titled this. We need to watch the trailer for this game. It's a seven minute trailer. I'm going to read over it. Kevin, you can just put it in the background.
B
Do I need to hear listen?
A
You don't need to listen.
B
Okay.
A
Because the visuals will be enough. All right. The name of this game is called Ananta. I'm pulling from an article from Techradar that says ananta looks like GTA 6 meet Spider Man 2 and you'll be able to play it on your phone for free. This is from Dacio Wood at TechRadar.
B
Wait a second.
A
And aesthetically, it looks like one of them Genshin games. Yeah, but chat and people listening. Think like Dokev, but way crazier. As far as what this trailer is.
B
Doing, Spider Man's flying. There's the GTA of it.
A
Jumping into the article, they say here. Publisher Netease Games has released a lengthy new trailer for the upcoming free game Ananta. It shows off its giant open world, lots of bombastic melee combat, loads of shooting, a few car chases, some kind of walking toilet creature, and pretty much everything else you could possibly want from a video game. Seriously, there's so much crammed into this new seven minute long gameplay reel that it's hard to know where to begin. Set in the futuristic Nova City, I suppose Ananta would be best described as GTA 6 meets Spider Man 2 from what I've seen so far. You play as the captain, captain of a special task force on some kind of quest to save the world with a. With an eccentric team of playable characters. Combat seems to be a big focus, with allies wielding guns and rocket launchers for ranged confrontations, or relying on Yakuza style improvised melee combat. Up close, I spotted loads of different traversal methods. It's like Punisher, including speedy cars, slick wingsuits, and gooey web slinging that would put Peter Parker to shame. Social media appears to play a significant role in the universe too, with plenty of characters seen taking selfies and scrolling on their phones. Ananta also looks absolutely stunning with its beautifully clean anime art style and open urban vistas. This seems particularly impressive.
B
That's right out of Spider Man. This entire scene. We've done this.
A
This seems particularly impressive given the fact that the game is not only coming to PS5 and PC, but also to mobile phones. There's no official release date yet. So, Greg, we're halfway through this trailer. What do you think about what you're saying?
B
Dope as shit. This is the problem though, with all these NetEase and like the Gotcha games is like, they always look cool.
A
Yeah.
B
And then I get in and play them like, oh, this isn't hitting the way I want it to hit. This is a game as you watch, if you have a listener, if you're not like, it is everything they've described, which is like, can you possibly be good at all that? Can it possibly feel good? Because now we're very much into the GTA section after just seeing this man have Venom walking around wielding the Symbiote. Like, what the is going? This looks cool.
A
This looks so much like Spider Man.
B
This looks another copyright infringement. Yes, it looks awesome. But like, is it going to be fun to play?
A
Yeah, it's a weird one because I've had it both ways. Where I remember first seeing Genshin Impact and being like, damn, this looks like Zelda. I started playing Genes and Impact and I was like, damn, it's a really impressive video game. Like that shit, actually, I think lived up to a lot of the promises and then the Gotcha stuff was. The stuff was the stuff where I was like, okay, I don't like this at all. It feels like it is overly monetized. It's free to play, so you expect that. But of course, I just didn't enjoy that experience. And then Zenless Zone 0 was the one where I was like, this looks fucking incredible. And then I started playing. It immediately was like, no, I'm good. Yeah, I don't like how this plays. And so it's hard to know what to expect.
B
They just do a GTA character swap.
A
They did. Yes.
B
Jesus. Jesus.
A
Ananta is the name of this game. In the era where we're increasingly getting more and more of, I guess this brand of games, it seems like they're getting more and more budget too.
B
Yeah.
A
I wouldn't be surprised if, like, a lot of this actually functions as it looks.
B
Yeah, no, no, no. I. I definitely don't think we're being sold a false bill of goods here. It's more of like, will the combat feel good? Will the. There's a spider bot. Will the combat feel good? Will the narrative make sense for what you're doing and why you're doing it? Will it have its outside of Gotcha hooks a reason to come back and play it again? Like, I'm not. Yeah. I think NetEase continues to make money hand over fist and I do think they keep putting it back into their games to take them to another level in terms of what they're doing. But it's always that question of, will this be the one that grabs console gamers, PC gamers, in a way that isn't just.
A
I mean, I think they do already. Right. Like, these games have a gigantic audience. Like, we see. We've seen the bus advertisements for.
B
But I. Then I. And again, I'm.
A
But I. Will they grab the Greg Millers?
B
I know, I said, yeah, I'm coming back. Are they gonna grab. Are they. Are they picking up core gamers who play these? Or are they picking up just people who want to fuck around their phone or whatever? Which is fine. And I'm not saying that doesn't matter. Like, I look at this and I'm like, yeah, I want to dress up. Yeah, Yeah, I want to drive my fucking cool car around. This looks awesome. And again, for me, as the guy. Wait, that looks like a Ghostbuster knockoff symbol. That's cool. As the guy who, you know, loves mobile gaming or, I'm sorry, portable gaming. Right. Like, the idea always of playing something on my PlayStation and having the exact version in quotes on my phone. Same character, same world, you know, whatever. Fidelity. I'm always into that. I love that idea.
A
Yeah.
B
So I hope this is as good as it looks. I hope this is a world I want to go live in. But you watch now we're doing the fucking slapping. Like, okay, I hope this. I hope this fucking rocks. Because this looks like a lot of cool ideas. A lot. A lot of cool ideas.
A
I just. Man, I wish the aesthetic was different, you know?
B
I mean, what, you wish it wasn't so Neo Tokyo?
A
Like, I not even like the setting. I think it is like the. Like, I feel. I think a lot of games try to go for, like, the same art style like that Genshin has. I think when Genshin first came out, it felt a little novel because I was like, okay, cool. I've not seen much like this.
B
Yeah.
A
Now I'm seeing a lot of games that look like this. And I don't know, I just don't. I don't really vibe with it as strongly, at least at this point.
B
I'm preregistering for updates.
A
Greg is prerequisite. There you go.
B
I said over there. Somebody said it was. A lot of. A lot of people had already done it.
A
Greg.
B
Yeah.
A
This game seems like it's doing a lot of big things, Huge things. It's going to come out and maybe it's going to be a gigantic game. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
B
You want to talk about a gigantic thing? Look at the third tile there, on, there, on there on the anti. Whatever their Instagram.
A
On a Tuesday, double juked up.
B
On a Tuesday, you'd go to the tiniest news you need to know about in a segment that's very small called We News.
A
Story number six is We News 2xko. Early Access has been announced and it's starting October 7th. This one is from VGC. The Game Developers Conference, most commonly referred to as GDC, is rebranding. In a video posted to social media, the organizers of the event have announced that the annual conference will now be known as GDC Festival of Gaming, Palworld and Ultra Kill. Oh, yeah, Jesus. I forgot that I put the video up here. This is what they the GDC account posted. It's a UFO coming and abducting a GDC sign. Yeah, GDC sign.
B
You hate to see it. Which people worked hard on that sign.
A
Is that AI? Is that an AI video? I can't tell what's going on.
B
No, they can't. They like, look at this.
A
Why would they. You think somebody animated this? Baron background says they promoted a lot of AI last year. Yeah, I don't know what's going on in that video. Power World and Ultra Kill are collabing. Gear and weapons from Ultra Killer are coming to power world. Borderlands 4 has amassed over 2.5 million players since launch. Avatar Frontiers, Pandora from the ashes expansion launches December 19th. And finally, Painkiller has been delayed to October 21st. And that is it for WE News.
B
Hell yeah.
A
Let's hop into Super Chats while you organize them.
B
I want to call this one a b g2580 says just getting here. Did they watch the new OD trailer? No. Gamescast after this will be our live reaction to the OD trailer and all the kojima news.
A
El Capitan 22 says, wouldn't mind if the merch was actually good. Of course. Talking about the PlayStation.
B
But here's the thing is it's exclusive, so I bought it already. You know what I mean?
A
Come on now, Demon Hacker. Well, this is a question for Mike. He says, how's the stony baloney experience of Baby Steps?
B
Mike, let us know about the stony baloney experience when you get a chance.
A
Yeah, I don't know if that's the thing. Usually that's not on my checklist for reviews.
B
This kind of game, though. Yeah, this kind of game.
A
I feel like Mike is ahead of it, so he might have that review for you. Ed Reed Fan20 says trailer for Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra at SATA. Play, question mark.
B
Is that game anything other than vaporware? We will find out one day.
A
God, I hope we see it. I choose to be a believer. Even though it's not looking good. A lot of the time, I'm like, man, where is this game? I want to see more. Show me gameplay. That's what I want to see.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
How does running around as Black Panther look? I get that you're using. I get that the game looks beautiful in the cutscenes. Show me what the game plays like. Mellow fellow. Earlier When Mike was on says this trio makes B Hole, M taint, and G Spot.
B
M taint Mike, because Mike came out.
A
Yeah, but like, B Hole and G Spot are things.
B
We know what that is.
A
M taint is that. Do we call it that?
B
Barrett, you ever heard of the M taint?
A
Is that different from the regular Taint?
B
No, I think he was just trying real hard to make it work there, I guess.
A
Yeah. I can't really think of an M thing chat. I need y' all to Molva say anything. What is that? Molva? I don't know what that.
B
I put it in there.
A
Yeah.
B
No, it doesn't ring. Is what we're trying.
A
I need you to brainstorm. Oh, they're saying, man, taint. Zem taint.
B
Are we really differentiating between taints?
A
Somebody at Tundra Boy and Chassis, wrap it up. Let's see if I have any more super chats in here. I think we got to.
B
Just got here. They've done the OD trailer yet.
A
Yeah, I think we're good on super chats. Let's hop into kind of fun dot com, you're wrong where you ride in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube, listening later on podcast services around the globe, Cabaz writes in and says aware and mano. No, aware is pronounced aware, similar to the word sake. Okay, thank you. Yeah, when I said it, I thought I got it right. But then I was like, I'm just going to go back to my Americanized way, because if I don't have it right and I keep committing, then it sounds even worse. And so I was like, let me just get it wrong on purpose here. Interesting. Dova Beat says possible missed we news. Larian announced hotfix number 34 for Baldur's Gate 3, which includes a native Steam deck build will result in more stable frames, faster loading, and overall smoother gameplay. Love that.
B
Good.
A
And then that's not a you're wrong. That's something. That's a state of play prediction. Ask for those in super chats. So I'm going to delete that right there. And that is it for your wrong. Greg. Very excited talk all things Kojima.
B
I can't wait.
A
