Today's gaming news stories include PlayStation finally confirms Wolverine's release date, a new Overwatch game has been revealed, and Amazon shuts down another game. While all this more because this is kinda Funny Games Daily Foreign. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, February 24, 2026. I'm on your host, Blessing. Adio. Yay Jr. Joining me is the one and only Madeline Stanley.
Madeline Stanley
Hello, Blessing. How are you doing?
Blessing
I'm doing good. How are you doing?
Madeline Stanley
Pretty good, pretty good. Happy to be here.
Blessing
Happy to have you here. Of course, you happen to be in town. You're going to be on some content for us later in the week that we're very excited to have you on. Um, but how are you doing? I didn't include your. I forget, do you have an outlet that you make content with? I always like, like to promote that.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I have a Twitch, Twitch tv, Mad Exposure.
Blessing
So I stream There we go.
Madeline Stanley
Hell yeah. Oh yeah. So come, come over there. I have a series called Sunday Scaries where we play horror games every Sunday. Right now it's February where I've been playing Resident Evil all February.
Blessing
Love that. Oh yeah, yeah. Which Resident Evil's we've been playing?
Madeline Stanley
So I finished 2 at the beginning of the month, then did R2 remake, then I did re4 remake and then I just started 7 this past Sunday.
Blessing
I noticed how you skipped re3.
Madeline Stanley
Well, here's the thing. Okay, so obviously February ary is because we have RE9 coming out soon. And I asked fellow Resident Evil people, which ones do I have to at least get a taste of before nine comes out? And a lot of people like three, but they didn't say it was like essential. Essential, yes, for the nine experience. So that's what we. That's what I decided. So.
Blessing
So this is your first time playing through the Resident Evil games? Oh, hell yeah.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Do you have any ones that stick out so far? I guess between re2 and re4.
Madeline Stanley
So I love them both for different reasons. So I. I have always been a Resident Evil movie person. I love the movies even though they're not very good. But I will fight for the first one. But I never really got into the games. But I've become like a Resident Evil fanatic. Like, I love them. I Love the horror of 2 Remake. It's so scary. I screamed so much. But RE4 Remake was so fun. I love being Leon just kicking people in the face.
Blessing
Yes.
Madeline Stanley
So it's like I would love in some worlds where we could merge those two things, like horror movies. But Leon kicking people in the face, you know?
Blessing
Yeah. I feel like I resonate with that very greatly. Like, RE2 was my first Resident Evil that I played all the way through beat and truly loved. I remember trying RE4 back in the day multiple times across multiple different platforms. And whatever reason, RE4 didn't initially stick with me until I played remake. And I think part of that was that RE2 was the gateway drug. There's something about just like the pure horror, like pacing and the tenseness of having Mr. X just like there in the ether following you. And also a little design of the police station, everything taking place in this one place for the most part, until you get out of there. Loved everything about that. RE4 got to it and I grew to love it because it is more of a hyped up, like, yeah, bit more actiony, has a bit more going on. Leon's doing flips off of walls to, like, dodge chainsaws and shit. Right. Like, it's that kind of Resident Evil, but. But also very, very lovable in its own way. And of course, that's the fan favorite. People will say Re 4 is one of the greatest games of all time. I feel like in between there, I have my ideal Resident Evil. And I'm looking forward to Resident Evil Requiem because I feel like it could end up being that.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I feel like everything we've seen hints that way. So we'll just have to see what ends up happening with it. It really fulfills that promise.
Blessing
Of course, this Friday, me and Andy.
Madeline Stanley
Oh, I'm so excited for going to
Blessing
lock ourselves into the streaming room. We're gonna play through Resident Evil Requiem, push for a marathon stream. I'm thinking we'll probably go for 24 hours if we're able to push us there. And I'm looking forward to it. I don't know, I've been. I've been sounding like I've been dreading a little bit. And really the only part I'm dreading is the staying up part. I love Resident Evil so much that I am looking forward to playing this game with Andy. Because if you saw our Resident Evil 7 playthrough, that was such fun, content to be a part of, and so looking forward to doing that again. I'm worried about Andy Cortez.
Madeline Stanley
Well, I love the combo of you two. Because the way that you respond to horror is so different. I feel like it's a fun. It's like a fun balance of. Of just. Yeah. Terror and excitement and stress.
Blessing
Yes. Yeah, I think I get stressed. Andy legitimately gets scared.
Madeline Stanley
Yes.
Blessing
Like, Andy does not like doing horror things or playing horror games or watching horror movies. And so to lock him in a room with Resident Evil Requiem, which is from the one demo that I've played of it multiple times, seems to be leaning on the way more scarier side of it, at least through the grace section that they had in the demo. Right where it is the. I don't even know what the creature is called, but the big creature that chases after you or whatever. That shit is fucking scary.
Madeline Stanley
It is.
Blessing
And we're going to make Andy play that. You know, Andy's going to fight against it, but we're going to have him play it. But enough about Resident Evil. Remember, this is kind of Funny Games Daily. If you're watching live, you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on YouTube.com kind of funny games. Remember, we couldn't do this without our producers over on patreon.com kind of funny. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney. The Psalm Twining for now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have five stories today. Baker's Desert, starting with our number one. Finally, some good news. PlayStation finally confirms Marvel's Wolverine release date. I'm pulling from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. Insomniac Games and PlayStation have confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will release for PS5 on September 15, 2026. The release date means the much anticipated superhero title will arrive two months before GTA 6, which most studios are likely attempting to avoid. I cut the article off there because it doesn't go on to say anything else that's like new details. But Madeline, I want to know from you, what are your hype levels for Marvel's Wolverine?
Madeline Stanley
I'm excited for it. I want to see more. I think that I always temper my expectations until I see more gameplay, but I'm very excited. Like, I think Insomniac's an amazing studio. I love the Spider man games. I think Wolverine looks really cool. I feel like it will be fun for them to go, I think a little bit more in that R rated territory. Right. Like Spider Man's very like a superhero that kids can enjoy, whereas Wolverine's definitely more of the rated R version. And I'm curious to see what they do with that.
Blessing
Yeah, I think there's something to it where Spider man can almost feel like you're playing with an action figure, where it is like, oh, I'm just beating up baddies and throwing them everywhere. But, like, you know, it's not bloody in the way that you expect a Wolverine to be. It can't go certain places. And I say that even though I love the places Spider man goes. Wolverine, I think, has the ability to, I think, stretch insomniac in a way where between Ratchet and Spidey and even Sunset Overdrive, you don't really see them go that crazy with, like, blood, violence, all that and that stuff you expect from Wolverine.
Madeline Stanley
So, yeah, they're gonna take the kid gloves off a little bit, and I feel like that will be really interesting to see from a studio that makes amazing games. But. Yeah, where can we push it towards now?
Blessing
Did you see how they announced this release?
Madeline Stanley
I didn't.
Blessing
They just posted it on social media.
Madeline Stanley
Really?
Blessing
Yeah. Like, I should have linked it. Actually, Kevin, I. I can try to find it and drop it in assets for you, but it legitimately was. I'll look for it. Okay. Kevin's gonna look for it. It legitimately was just like, Wolverine's coming, you know, September, you know, 15th, and then. Then it's like a barely even a trailer. Like, almost like a teaser with no gameplay that just has the September 15th overlaid on top of it. Like, very unceremonious. Unceremonious, yeah.
Madeline Stanley
That's. So you wonder why it wouldn't be part of a state of play or some other showcase.
Blessing
Yeah. Which is, like, kind of the conversation I want to have a little bit is, why would they do it this way? Because the state of play was two weeks ago. Like, a week and a half ago. Like, doesn't feel like it was that long ago. One of the things that we kept talking about was that Insomniac. Oh, chat. Remind me. Insomniac said that they were going to give us more details on this game in, like, summer. Is that what they said? Yeah. Here, Kevin has it. This is the Instagram page for Insomniac.
Madeline Stanley
Okay, so we just do a picture and a date.
Blessing
Yeah, you just go from the Wolverine key art to then the date, and then that's it.
Madeline Stanley
That's so strange.
Blessing
They said spring. When does spring officially? Can you slide your mic over a little to your right? The other way.
Madeline Stanley
There we go. Here we go.
Blessing
There it is.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah. I would not consider February spring I
Blessing
was gonna say, I'm like, what's the why? Why did we not just put this into the state of play? Which my one theory, if I'm trying to think of the most sound logical reasoning in my brain, is that they probably just crossed a milestone. Like there was probably some sort of thing where they were like, hey, we had to hit X milestones so we can comfortably say that this game is going to come out in September. And they just didn't have it done by two weeks ago. And now they do have it done and instead of holding it for a summer showcase or something, they're like, well, just post it. Like we're ready to say it. So just post it so we can get more of the marketing rollout going.
Madeline Stanley
I wondered too, like on the flip side of that, do they not have enough done where it's like if you include it in a state of play and all you. And you don't want to show anything, you can't really just have a state of play be like, hey, and so anyway, Wolverine's coming out, here's a picture and here's a date. Like if we watch that in the state of play, everyone would be like, what is this? Why did you include such a small piece of information? I feel like sometimes maybe you would, maybe they didn't, they didn't want to show that much. And so they're like, okay, well we can't include it in a big showcase. I guess we have to just do a one off thing.
Blessing
Yeah, maybe like they're like, yeah, we, we don't have the time to pull together an asset for a larger trailer and we don't want to show off this 7 second thing in a state of play. I don't know if that's beyond them to do because I feel like we've seen it before. But I guess more you're this late into the marketing cycle where the game's coming out later in the year. Yeah, you don't want to have like a 5 second, 7 second asset. That is, here's the release date. Like you save that for when you're first announcing God of War Rag Rock. And you're like, people are like, oh, what is this? And you see the Sony Santa Monic Monica logo and then you see God of the God of War logo and you're like, oh cool, let's go. We're getting new God of War. That's exciting. I think when you've seen multiple trailers for this already and we've seen the voice actor breaking down the Gameplay and all this. It's like you can't then just turn around and be like, all right, no more gameplay, but here's a date.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah. And that's it. That's all we're giving you.
Blessing
Yeah, exactly. September. How does September feel for you for this game coming out?
Madeline Stanley
I think that feels good. I love a good fall game, especially because I think it's obviously smart, as you mentioned in the article, to like get ahead of gta. I think GTA is going to take over everyone's life at a certain point and this gives you enough time, I imagine, to finish Wolverine. So I think that's a, I think it's a great place for them.
Blessing
Now I want to pull on a super chat if we're going to bust out a little bit of the tinfoil hats here. Volkdasher writes in and says, looks like this is planned to calm things after bloom. Blue Point but God of War 2 5D Soros Marathon Token Fighting Souls, CanA2 Wolverine. That's quite a high level lineup in 2026 for PS5. It's kind of a two parter there. 1. Do you believe the idea that this could be them trying to distract people from Blue Point?
Madeline Stanley
That's an interesting theory. It does feel like a bit tinfoil Hattie, but because of how if it was a more produced thing, like we had a trailer or some, some other detail, I would be less, I would be more skeptic of that. But because it is just a picture and a date, it does seem a little bit like it could be. Hey, we need, does anyone have anything we can share to kind of get the attention off this news cycle? Like. And Sonia's like, well, I guess we could do a date like, we're pretty confident in September 15th, but I don't know, it does, it feels a little too, it feels a little tinfoil hat.
Blessing
Yeah. Like I, I respect the idea of like, you know, let's, let's, let's get into the inner workings of how like, you know, marketing can be used as distractions because I think for sure that happens. I feel like this is not that I, I think Wolverine in terms of the audience that Wolverine speaks to and the people paying att the Blue Point news. There's a way wider net of people that are, that are invested in Wolverine that probably don't even know that Blue Point closed as a studio. You're talking about a mainstream audience of gamers versus people that listen to kind of funny games daily that are aware that Blue Point closed. So I Think that's one thing. And I think the other thing is that, yeah, if you really wanted to distract people from that, you would have an actual trailer. Like, you would have something that's bigger than just the release date posted on Instagram and Twitter and YouTube or whatever. Right. Like, you want something that. That is actually going to pull people away to talk about it.
Madeline Stanley
Well, I also think, too, like, everything that happened with Microsoft on Friday, like, is that not pulling attention away from the stuff that happened with Blue Point? Like, that was so much bigger than the Blue Point. Not that they're not both important, but the Microsoft stuff was so huge. Obviously y' all had a emergency kind of funny games daily to talk about it. Yeah. Like, if you wanted to pull attention away, like, congratulations, you got some attention someplace else. Like, no one's talking about the Blue Point stuff.
Blessing
Right.
Madeline Stanley
Right now.
Blessing
Yeah, if I. If I was in the PlayStation, like, the shady offices of the PlayStation, you know, marketing thing, and I'm like, all right, guys, we need a distraction. All right? We can, like, we could put out the Wolverine release date. And then Friday comes and they announce that they're. That Phil Spencer's retiring, Sarah Bond's out, the AI person is coming out. I'd be like, hey, we can keep the release date. Actually, like, let's just keep his plan. We don't have to shift everything to. To make this happen. As far as the second part of the super chat, Talking about the 2026 slate of PlayStation games, I feel like this year is more exciting than maybe the last few years of PlayStation exclusives. When you really lay it out right, you have God of War, Sons of Sparta, which I know is out to, like, mixed reviews or whatever, but that's a game that released. You had Soros Marathon, Token, Kana 2, Wolverine, as Volkdasher here lists, like, for you. Is that an exciting lineup? When you think about this year and PlayStation?
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I think it's exciting. There's some revisiting old franchises, some new things, I think. I think it sounds cool. I think having a date on Wolverine makes me very excited because I. I feel like once until I get dates, like I said, it's hard to get excited because just the. The gaming space is so volatile.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
Where I'm like. But I feel like it's good. Got a little bit of. For a little bit of something for everybody.
Blessing
Yeah. Again, like, I mean, I'm somebody who. I loved Returnal. Returnal was my game of the year, the year that that game came out. And so Soros is a follow up. Hell yeah. Wolverine. Like, to your point at the beginning of this conversation, talking about Insomniac and like, you know, Insomniac is a such a consistent studio and they consistently put out fun, vibrant games that know exactly what they are and how to be what they are. And I have no doubt coming off of playing amount of Spider man games that. That they've made now and Sunset Overdrive like a Wolverine game from them. I know. I know exactly what that is. I can see it in my head. And even as we watch the last trailer for the game that came out a couple state of plays ago, like, yeah, that looks like the game that I've envisioned in my head, this looks like Insomniac's Wolverine. And so, like all that said, I think the game's gonna be a blast. I think the game's gonna be a hit. And so super looking forward to that. And then you have a surprise in something like HANA 2, which, you know, we didn't know existed before a few weeks ago. Hell yeah, let's go. Like, I love to see them investing in something that was very promising in the first game. Coming out with King of Bridge of Spirits, but was something I wanted to see more from something I could have seen growing and improving. And from just the trailer we've gotten from Cana2, that looks like something that is growing and improving. You have these bigger open areas to explore. You have a game that continues to look phenomenal in terms of presentation and fidelity. And I'm excited to get back into that game. It feels like it's been forever since KANO won. And so, yeah, I think this, this lineup is one that, you know, really excites me. And then Marathon also is like a question mark in a good way, in my opinion.
Madeline Stanley
And that's soon, right?
Blessing
Yeah, that's March 5th, I want to say.
Madeline Stanley
So, yeah, like next week.
Blessing
Yeah, yeah, in like a week and a half, two weeks.
Madeline Stanley
Crazy.
Blessing
And like, you know, I'll throw this. I was holding this for WE News, but to throw it in there. Talking about things coming up soon, they didn't mention in the super super chat, but there's Ghost of Yote Legends coming out that that same week. And then they announced today that Horizon Hunters gathering, the closed beta is happening February 27th through March 1st. So that starts in a few days. And I forget if they said the release date for that game, if that's coming out this year, if that's coming out later. I don't think they said. But regardless, regardless, I'm excited for that. You know what I mean? Like, that's one that I think in the same way that Marathon is kind of a question mark, but has the hype of people that like extraction stuff and like Bungie Horizon, Hunter's Gathering is one that I think could be promising if it hits.
Madeline Stanley
So yeah, Horizon has always had a really fun game loop for me. I'm not a big multiplayer person, but Hunter Gatherer looks interesting.
Blessing
Yeah. To bring in more super chats here. MSV writes in and says they said more info in spring. They never said it would release in spring. I guess, like to that. Yeah, I mean there still could be more info. I still assume Wolverine popping up at the next state of play with some more details. Maybe you get a new villain. And then also we're talking about Comic Con probably when we're talking about a Wolverine game. Like there are so many places that this thing could pop up with more info at this point. You could put out a trailer by itself and then only special features writes in and says, we love Madeleine Stanley.
Madeline Stanley
Ah, love you, Mario.
Blessing
Another one from Joshy Frog comes in and says, let's go, Madeline.
Madeline Stanley
Hi, Joshi.
Blessing
And then another one from Foxy Steve, who writes in and says, just showing some love for the Queen of Scream. Always awesome seeing Madeline on kf.
Madeline Stanley
Thanks, Foxy Steve.
Blessing
Oh, yeah. Are there games that you're looking forward to that feel like they're far further out in the year? Right. Like coming out in that second half range. Because one of the things that they mentioned in the article that I didn't include here was that I believe Wolverine and GTA are the only games that we have, like release dates for now.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, that's what I'm gonna say. That's such a hard question for me because as soon as you ask me, I can't remember a single video game that's coming out this year.
Blessing
I know. I mean, Chad is saying Fable. Fable, which is a really good one to put out there.
Madeline Stanley
Fable looks really cool. I haven't played any Fable games. And the last showing that they did with that. I'm very intrigued by the morality system and all of the things they were talking about how the. The world sort of responds to you. So Fable is definitely on my list. Yeah, I can't think of any other games.
Blessing
One for me all throughout there. And I forget if they even set a date. Actually. No, I think we do have a date for this one. Phantom Blade Zero. That's one that I know is coming in the fall. I've opened their Steam Page. And they have September 8th there.
Madeline Stanley
Oh, double oh, seven. I'm looking forward to that.
Blessing
Nice, mean seven. I believe that's first half of the year, right? Forza is first half of the year. Like, I think the first half of the year is filled up quite nicely with release dates. It's that second half of the year with GTA looming and now with Wolverine kind of, you know, staming its place. I'm curious to see how those dates start to fall between those two.
Madeline Stanley
I. It is interesting to me because I know everyone's scared of gta and I think rightfully so, but so will that not sort of cannibalize the other games though, too? So, like, if you're avoiding gta, but everyone's avoiding gta, so are we not gonna have like a crazy.
Blessing
Yeah, like September is gonna go crazy.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah. Where all of a sudden, okay, well, I'm not competing against GTA anymore, but I am competing against Wolverine and Soros and some like a bunch of other really big things as well.
Blessing
Yeah, I think for sure that's going to happen. I think for sure we're going to get. If we're going to predict it. Right. I think summer game fest season will be very telling as far as what Xbox, Jeff Keighley and PlayStation have to say about where the dates land for things or even what they don't say. Because I think this might be the one where this summer we get the least release dates out of. Out of anything. Because everybody's just like, well, we would have released late fall, but we don't want to try and contend with GTA and Wolverine and what other. Whatever other big game fable, you know. So I think we're gonna get a lot of 2027, which doesn't sound like a real year, to say it out loud. Or maybe we get like those early, earlier, like September release dates already. We have two big ones in September. I think we get more of those. But then I think as we get closer to September, they then delay out of the year. Yeah, that's my. That's my loose prediction for it.
Madeline Stanley
I will. I do hope that that GTA season, as I'm gonna call it, I like that we see a good crop up of indies of people who are just putting out smaller things. Like we see more of the. Of the indie games being like, well, that's not exactly my audience. Like, I'll just put something out and we get a big grouping of a lot of really cool indie games.
Blessing
I think for sure we can see that.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Have you Checked out any of the Steam Next Fest demos?
Madeline Stanley
No, I haven't. Cause I've been here and I haven't been at my computer. But there's a couple of ones that I'm. I have my eye on.
Blessing
Like what?
Madeline Stanley
I can't think of any of them anymore. But I will. I will report back.
Blessing
I. So the last few days, I guess, Steve, Next Fest only started yesterday. So I played some demos yesterday. I also played more demos through the weekend, last weekend, because there are some demos that just went up early. Yesterday I played a demo for. I played demo for two for, well, three different games. One of them I didn't like very much. But I played the demo for Lucid, which came into my email. They presented it as a Celestoid Vania, which I read. And I was like, I'll be the judge of that. And started playing it. Really dug it. But it didn't feel as much like Celeste as it does like Mega man with like more platformy kind of things going on. But then also, yeah, the Metroidvania style of like map design, that's one that I'm really interested to see. Like, as we move forward, as it gets closer, Kevin's bringing up gameplay of it 2D pixel art, right? Like, I think that's kind of where the Celeste kind of vibe comes in because you can see the character kind of like zooming back and forth because they have so many abilities in this game. Like, the whole first level that I played during this demo is them being like, all right, you can do this. Here's a running ability that'll like give you a running start when you do a jump and it'll launch you. All right? Now you can press Y to then do like your melee, but if you're in the air, it'll do like a melee dash or whatever. There's so many mechanics and it does feel good to play.
Madeline Stanley
I really, I really like the way it looks.
Blessing
I really. Yeah, I love the way it looks. Right? And I. I even love how the menus look in this game. Like, the starting menu in this game is like. Feels like it was. They spent a lot of time making sure that, like, your first impression is going to be a nice art piece of. Hey, this starting menu is fucking beautiful. But yeah, really enjoyed my time with this game. And then I played a game called Croak. Have you heard of Croak?
Madeline Stanley
I have not. It sounds frog related.
Blessing
It is frog related.
Madeline Stanley
I think frogs are big right now.
Blessing
I mean, listen, if that's the case, Croak is about to go crazy because Croak is the Celeste.
Madeline Stanley
Like, oh, okay.
Blessing
Funny enough, the art style, though, kind of reminds me a little bit of a cuphead as far as it being more of, like, an animation. Like, 2D animation kind of thing. Looks kind of like a cartoon. But the gameplay is so, like, tight 2D platforming, you gotta be precise. You want to collect all the coins that are in a level if you're gonna, like, 100% the game. But it's like Celeste, where, if you remember, in Celeste, you get the strawberry. You have to land with it in order to collect it. Same thing with the coins in this game. And so you have all these optional, smaller challenges, but in the way that in Celeste, the dash is, like your main mechanic, that everything kind of works around you. Here, the main mechanic is the frog that you're playing as using his tongue to, like, zip towards things. And when you hit off of a wall, it'll then launch you the opposite way, which is really crazy in action, but leads to really fun and really cool platforming sections where I'm like, all right, jump off, turn around, tongue the wall. Fucking launch off the wall to get to the other side of the thing. And I feel like the coolest person ever whenever I. I'm able to pull it off.
Madeline Stanley
It looks cool. I love the way the little frog is animated. Like, he's just, like, walking around, little jolly guy. Someone mentioned DOSA Divas. I was looking at that one, and then there was someone who. I was watching Neo Aoshi Stream last night, and someone came in. It was a solo dev who showed Hordes of the Viscount. I think that's what it's called. Someone correct me in the chat. If you remember it, it looked really cool. It's like a Game Boy sort of Metroidvania thing as well.
Blessing
Okay. Hell yeah. Bringing in some more super chats. Joshy Frog writes in and just says, Frogs.
Madeline Stanley
Frogs.
Blessing
Emory Games writes in and says, I'll take your GTA season and raise you Grand Theft Autumn.
Madeline Stanley
Grand Theft Autumn is amaz.
Blessing
Really good.
Madeline Stanley
Although Fallout Boy kind of, I think, already took that.
Blessing
Ah, I see, I see, I see. Let's see. The right hill Doggo says, check out Hordes of Viscount.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, that's what the. The Hordes of Vico.
Blessing
Yeah. Or Vi count. I see. And then Mr. Hawk says, the gamers are always proud to see Madeline on kf. Remember, it's just a prank hand.
Madeline Stanley
It's just a prank hand.
Blessing
Oh, that's. Until now. Yes. God, that was such a Good stream.
Madeline Stanley
Oh, it was so fun.
Blessing
And then Joshua Bowen 7000 writes in and says, as someone who rolled credits on Burning Shores last night, this might be a hot take but. But I'm very disappointed. The next Horizon game is a Night Rain esque multiplayer game. I understand that. I think like I'm going to try and stop referencing the Ship of Theseus because I over reference it. But what I will say to Joshua is that I understand the feeling of hey, I'm in this franchise because I like the single player action adventure game where I'm bow and arrowing and doing this stuff and then you go and make a game that is the, that looks and is completely different. Why does this have the same name to it? Like I. That's the thing that will always confuse me about when you're franchising games and trying to speak to the same audience. What about Horizon Hunters Gathering is speaking to Horizon fans? Like are you, are we getting that conversion rate that we want? You know what I mean? So I totally, I totally understand that. That said, I'm still curious about it. I'm, I'm looking forward to trying it out. I hope it's good because I'm, I'm somebody who liked Night Rain and I'm somebody who likes Horizon.
Madeline Stanley
So yeah, I think for me the difference is like if that's something that the devs are excited about doing because I think sometimes you do the same thing over and you're like, I want to try something new versus like being mandated to make something else. You know, like if it, if you're an artist and you're making something the same way for a long time, sometimes you might want to switch it up, see what else you can kind of do with your same toolbox. If that's what they're excited about, then I'll be excited about playing it versus coming from top down being like, you gotta make a multiplayer game. Like then you can really feel that in the game itself.
Blessing
I think exactly. Somebody says that's not the Ship of Theseus. That's why. That's because I was trying to do something that wasn't. I was trying to separate from the Ship of Theseus. I understand that it is like actually I'm not gonna explain it because then I'll get, I'll actually get it wrong. Madeline. Yeah, we're gonna move on to story number two, but before we do, I want to tell you about patreon.com kind of funny and YouTube.com kind of funny games where you can go and get the kind of funny which allows you to get shows ad free. And we're back with story number two. Blizzard reveals who Overwatch Rush this is from the Overwatch Rush team over@news.blizzard.com welcome heroes. We've got something new to share while still early days. We want to share updates on our progress throughout the development process. Today we're introducing Overwatch Rush, a new top down hero shooter designed specifically for mobile set in the Overwatch universe. Overwatch Rush is being developed by a dedicated team at Blizzard, separate from from Team 4, all of whom have deep mobile experience. Team 4 remains fully focused on Overwatch, which will continue to bring exciting and fresh new experiences for PC and console players in its recently launched Season 1 and beyond. Overwatch Rush is an entirely new game, not a port built specifically for mobile players. As we report for testing Overwatch Rush in select countries and regions or sorry, as we prepare for testing Overwatch Rush in select countries and regions and check out our official Discord server for updates on the game. While there remains a lot of work to do, we're eager to see how players enjoy what we've built so far and to hear from them on what we should focus on in the upcoming phases of development. Our mission is to continue to expand the Overwatch universe by bringing fresh new adventures to players across all platforms. We'll continue to keep you updated on how things are progressing. Madeline, as we look at the gameplay here of Overwatch Rush, does this entice you? Does this do anything for you?
Madeline Stanley
Oh, blessing nicely. No.
Blessing
Yeah. Are you an Overwatch person at all?
Madeline Stanley
I'm not. I'm curious as someone because you've kind of recently gotten back into Overwatch proper. We. We took the two away from Overwatch. Everyone's kind of getting back into it.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
Like are you in an Overwatch mood where you're like, okay, I'm like, I want to take in all of the Overwatch things. I want to give this a try. Or you're like, I have my Overwatch. I don't need another mobile Overwatch.
Blessing
I look at the gameplay for this and I also nicely go, this is not for me. I don't think it looks bad, though. I look at this and I'm like, I think they've translated the Overwatch art style really well to this top down thing. I'm looking at this and mechanically, like, I love seeing the different heroes still maintain their things. Like, we're looking at Reinhardt. Reinhardt is using his big shield. You have, you had mercy. That was healing him before you got soldier 76 doing his thing. Right. Like Reaper's there with his two, like dual hand shotguns, like, doing his thing. Like, everybody, all the characters here and all the gameplay here looks very much like Overwatch, you know, but just in this top down mobile form. And I'm not mad at it. Like, if you're going to adapt something to a different platform, make it make sense for that platform.
Madeline Stanley
Totally, yeah.
Blessing
So, like, if over. If traditional Overwatch doesn't work for mobile, make a mobile version of it. If you're really trying to get into that market. And honestly, I don't think, I don't think it looks bad. I'm not gonna play it though.
Madeline Stanley
No. Yeah, I don't. I don't think it looks bad either. It just looks so not my type of game. But I do think there is a big segment of people who are primarily mobile game users and this might really speak to them. Especially, you know, we talk about consoles being really expensive, PCs being really expensive. Lots of people have phones. Lots of people want to be gaming on their phones. Like, it's interesting. I'm glad they're saying it's not a port, it's something we made specifically for mobile.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
And hopefully they put a lot of care into bringing the sort of feel of Overwatch to a mobile platform.
Blessing
And it's. They. They're calling out here. This is separate from Team four, which is the team that works on Overwatch. This is a, you know, a different team that has that mobile expertise as you're talking about. And we want to make something that is specific to the platform. So I think that's a good call. And honestly, the more we watch this, the more I'm like, damn, this is just straight up, just Overwatch. It's just top down Overwatch which is a thing that I didn't even think could work in the way that it looks like it is working so good for them. The only other thing I'll say is that it reminds me so much of the viral moment, where was it Diablo, that they were taking them over thinking the same thing and everybody at Blizzcon was up in arms about it.
Madeline Stanley
And then like, what, you don't have phones?
Blessing
Yeah. What, you don't have phones, quote is the thing that, like, rings in my brain as I look at this gameplay. But, like, you know, this could be. I mean, we're almost at April, so this could be just now to see. It's an April Fool's joke.
Madeline Stanley
And I do think too, actually, that's a really good point though, right? Because if I remember correctly, when that was happening, people were waiting for a new Diablo launch. Like, they were on bated breath waiting for something new, and what they got was a mobile game. I think this is a great time to launch this because you just got a bunch of new proper Overwatch stuff.
Blessing
Yeah, that's cool.
Madeline Stanley
Everyone's really excited. They just got what they were asking for. Like, Overwatch as a game has been refreshed, people are back in. And then you get this addendum of the mobile game. Not a mobile game. Instead, like, imagine if this had come out and we hadn't had all of this new Overwatch stuff. I think the response would be a lot different, 1,000%.
Blessing
I think that's a really good call. I feel like this is an example of seeing a company or a team learn in real time and be like, ah, let's not do that again. Like, if we're going to announce a mobile thing, yeah, make sure it comes right after we do the things that people want with the proper main thing. So very excited to see how this shapes up. I'm excited to see people take to it. If this blows up, maybe then I'll give it a shot.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
I'm not. I don't. I don't have a need in my heart for a mobile Overwatch. But I'm saying this right now as somebody who has just not tried this. But, like, you know, if it comes out and people are like, yo, it's kind of nice. We'll see, we'll see. Let's move on to story number three. Amazon is shutting down another game. Former Lionhead devs King of Meat. This is coming from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. King of Meat, the party platformer published by Amazon, is set to shut down six months after it launched. Developed by UK based Glomade, which was founded by former Lionhead members, the co op platformer launched for consoles and PC in October as a premium game, but seemingly struggled to find an audience with With Steam concurrence peaking at less than a few hundred players On Monday, Amazon Games confirmed that King of Meat will shut down in April, with all players able to receive a refund for their purchases. Quote despite the creativity and innovation glow made brought to King of Meat, the game has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for, it said. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to conclude our investment in the game and King of Meats servers will close on April 9, 2026. QUOTE Players will be able to access and play all existing content until then, so we encourage you to enjoy your remaining time in the game with your fellow contenders. End quote all players who purchased King of Meat will receive a full refund in the coming weeks from their platform provider. Amazon said this is a crazy one because I recall so vividly this launching in October and feeling like it came out of nowhere. Like one day Mike just came in the studio talking about King of Meat And I think Mr. Beast in relation to it. I forget what the what the Mr. Beast connection is, but I'm pretty sure there's like a content creator like big connection here. But Mike was all about it, talking all about it and then I feel like I didn't hear anything about it the next week and forgot it existed until today when this news popped up. It's always crazy to see a game where launch in October and then in about what, six months turn around and shut down like this.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, it's so sad. I have never heard of this game, which is unfortunate because it does look very, very cool. But it is so sad that you know, we know that the threshold for success is a lot higher than than we would like it to be necessarily there. I think. What did it say? Like less than a few hundred concurrent players. Like that's really disappointing because they obviously created something kind of interesting, but it takes a lot more than that to make it.
Blessing
Yeah and I think this is one thing we talk about often is the amount of games that come out, the amount of like time and attention that these games ask for, and the amount that's not available from people because you're not only competing against other games that are coming out, you're competing against other forms of entertainment or other things like TikTok or you know, like I was a Fortnite. But yeah, like all these basically There are so many things that are taking away our attention and we're. These games are fighting for that. And so when you're something that's most player and you want to have a certain amount of concurrence. Yeah. Like, competition right now is so huge because we read. We quote the article all the time of. I think it was games industry biz that was talking about how when you look at the top games being played, they're all over six years old. Right. Like, the top games being played right now are not games that are coming out in 2026.
Madeline Stanley
Well. And it's the same, I think, when you look year over year, it's the same games that are making the top list. Right. It's always Fortnite, Call of Duty.
Blessing
Yeah. I think Valerie.
Madeline Stanley
Valerie, yeah. Like, it's. It's the heavy League of Legends. And as we just saw with High Guard, which was more successful than this game, that didn't hit either. And it's such a competition. I think especially with multiplayer, you're not only asking for the time and attention, but you're asking for a group of people's time and attention. With a solo indie game, you can download it from Steam, a demo or whatever, play it on your own, but with something like this, it's like, okay, well, you also need other people to play with you.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
And with how limited attention is across multiple people, that that window becomes even smaller.
Blessing
Yeah. Right. And people are throwing out the other big games. Right. You have Counter Strike, you have Roblox in there. And they're the same names of games that we've heard about for the last decade, but they have this chokehold on those player numbers and where people's attentions are going. And you mentioned High Guard earlier. And like, I read a story like this and I'm like, you know, like, yeah, I'm scared for the other games that come out, the new multiplayer games where it's like, all right, well, your time is coming. You know, like, even for Marathon, which I've been talking highly about, as far as what the. It feels like the vibes are on Marathon. It feels like we're up compared to where we were this time last year. Even with that, I'm like, yeah, but is that going to translate when the thing is actually out? You know what I mean? Like, is that going to still get them? The player numbers that they are looking for when we're looking at these games come and go. Obviously King of Me and High Guard are different from the amount of hype that's for marathon right now. But even still, like, we see games that come out and are good. We see games that come out and are promising that still get lost in the ether because there's so much to play right now.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Let's move on to some breaking news. This comes from Deadline, written by Rosie Cordero. Ed Screen is to play Balder in Prime Video's God of War. I got to close all these popups that are coming through from writer, showrunner and executive producer Ronald D. Moore, who did Outlander and for all mankind. God of War follows a father and son, Kratos and 10 year old Atreus, as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother Fay. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better God while Atreus tries to teach his father and how to be a better human. Let me jump back in the article because as I was closing the ad, I realized it jumped in the middle of the article. Ed Screen, who you know from Jurassic World Rebirth, is the latest actor to join the cast of Prime Video's God of War, Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios TV adaptation of PlayStation's ancient mythology themed video game. Screen will play Balder, who may be the youngest son of Odin, played by Mandy Pintekin. Patinkin. Thank you. But he is his father's most dangerous weapon. Charismatic, unpredictable, and armed with a razor sharp tongue, Balder lives by his own rules as a boy. As a boy, I love the idea that Balder lives by his own rules. It sounds like you're like introducing like a jackass character, you know, as a boy, Balder was cursed. This curse denied him the ability to feel pleasure and physical sensation. This fuels an insatiable anger and bloodlust in Balder, who favors a brawling fighting style that blends his immense power with the raw impact of his fists. Above all else, he longs for an opponent that can truly match his prowess in battle. An opponent that can finally make him feel something.
Madeline Stanley
Can I see a picture of this man?
Blessing
Yeah, this is what he looks like. So imagine this man, I guess. Like, can we see a picture of Balder from God of War?
Madeline Stanley
Damn, that's a zero percent water body. That man is dehydrated. Okay. Oh, from Game of Thrones. I recognize him more than from Jurassic World Rebirth. Interesting. Yeah. What does the character look like again?
Blessing
I mean, honestly, not far off, really.
Madeline Stanley
I mean, when you're casting.
Blessing
Yeah, Balder is the character. Kevin's bringing it up. I mean, he's a Norseman.
Madeline Stanley
He's a skinny.
Blessing
He's a skinny white Norseman with. Also, like, when you talk about the. That means I've been drinking water. Like, it's that kind of build.
Madeline Stanley
Also, this man is not hydrated. Oh, yes. That is a good casting.
Blessing
Exactly right. Like, I think the only thing you're looking for there is the beard.
Madeline Stanley
Mm.
Blessing
Which you can make work.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, he can grow a beard, man. That. I'm just thinking about the makeup for this. This for the show. Like, those makeup artists are going to be. They've got their work cut out from them. All these, like, runes and tattoos that they all have all over their bodies.
Blessing
But I feel like this is, like a fun one. Like, if you're a makeup artist, I feel like this is almost like a dream job where you get to look at, like, these mythical men and mythical characters and go, all right, how do we translate all of these markings, all this weird shit? How do we make a Kratos with, like, ash and, like, the mark, like, the fucking Spartan markings and all this stuff?
Madeline Stanley
That's good. It seems like a lot of their castings have been really spot on. I'm really excited for. The actor who's playing Kratos was from Sons of Anarchy.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
And I loved Sons of Anarchy. So amazing.
Blessing
In it, we're gonna see probably in episode either one or two, this man Ed screen fight that dude from yes. And they're gonna have a superhero fight. That's gonna be.
Madeline Stanley
That's gonna be sick.
Blessing
Hell, yeah. All right, let's move on to actual story number four. Simpsons Hit and Run and prototype studio Radical Entertainment is back as New Radical Games. This is Chris Scolian at Video Games Chronicle. The studio behind such titles as the Simpsons Hit and Run and Prototype has returned under a new name. New Radical Games describes itself as Radical Entertainment plus Hot Head Games, implying that the new company is the successor to both defunct studios. Radical Entertainment was founded in 1991 in Vancouver and was acquired by Vivendi in 2005, then by Activision in 2008. By the end of 2013, the studio had essentially closed in all but name, with the Canadian government dissolving its incorporated status and the few remaining staff assisting on other Activision projects. Hothead Games was a Vancouver based studio which developed such titles as Penny Arcade Adventures and Death Spank before moving on to mobile games. It went bankrupt in late 2024. Now, however, both studios appear to have been resurrected as New Radical Games, with Ian Wilkinson as CEO and president and Tim Benison as coo. Wilkinson was one of Radical Entertainment's co founders. After the company was sold to Vivendi, he left radical in 2008 and moved to Hothead, where he served as the studio's president for the next 16 years. Benison was previously CEO and studio director at Capcom Vancouver, then joined Hothead in 2020 to serve as its COO. Although Wilkinson's LinkedIn page states that he started as CEO and President of New Radical Games in December 2024, around the same time as Hothead Games went bankrupt, the studio's website appears to have only recently gone live. The site says the studio is open for work for higher full game development on mobile or console games. It also says it's willing to co develop with another studio or to handle porting or remastering of an existing title. As well as the Simpsons Hit and Run and Prototype, Radical Entertainment's other previous titles include the Incredible Hulk, Ultimate Destruction, Scarface, the World Is Yours, Crash Tag Team Racing, and the NES version of Wayne's World. That's a crazy catalog.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah. What an interesting collection of games.
Blessing
That's such an insane catalog. I think the only ones are those that I've played are Simpsons Hit and Run and oh, I guess I play Crash Tag Team Racing.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Actually, no. Which one was Nitro Fueled? Do you remember?
Madeline Stanley
I don't.
Blessing
I played one on, I think it was either GameCube or Xbox, but I feel like it was Nitro Field.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I also, I'm thinking that's the one I also played and. Which is not the Tag Team racing one.
Blessing
Yeah. But also, funny enough, I also played Scarface the World is Yours.
Madeline Stanley
You did.
Blessing
Which was like kind of like a Vice City clone ish kind of game. It was all right. It didn't like Set My World on Fire or whatever, but again, a weird catalog of games. Also an interesting journey through these different studios opening and shutting down and this guy just being like, I'm gonna keep. I'm keep doing it. I'm open another one and it's going to be the successor.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I love the. Well, first of all, I love calling it New Radical. Like, I think that's a. That's a great sort of reimagining of your old stuff. But what a. What a persistence of like, gaming is my passion, making games. I'm like, I will figure out how to do it no matter if I have to beg, borrow, steal how many studios I need to make. I'm going to game and I'm going to make games for you guys.
Blessing
And I love the idea of like, yeah, I'm making games my passion. I'm going to make it happen no matter what. And listen, I'll co develop all with another studio. I'll remaster an existing title like Let. Let Us Do Anything. Which honestly, for the ecosystem that we're in right now of games business, not a bad call. No, make yourself available.
Madeline Stanley
You also don't get things that you don't ask for. So, like him putting this out there. There might be another studio that's looking for partnership that's like, oh, shit, okay, we didn't know that these. These group of people were out there. Let's partner on something. Or there might be an existing IP that's looking for someone to make something unique in it. I think putting things out into the world is the best way to get something. No one's going to give you something you didn't ask for for the most part. So ask for it and see what happens 1000%.
Blessing
Also, the game I was thinking of is Crash Nitro Kart. That's the one I played.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, I think that's when I played as well.
Blessing
Madeleine. We'll see if the studio ends up doing big, big things like a successor to Simpsons Hit and Run. That'd be huge.
Madeline Stanley
That would be huge.
Blessing
Probably not going to happen, but it'd be huge. If I wanted something smaller, though, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
Madeline Stanley
You'd go to our last story, the WE News Channel, where we cover all the small items you need to know about.
Blessing
Story number five is we news. Mouse PI for hire has been delayed to April 16, 2026.
Madeline Stanley
I really want to play that.
Blessing
Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. That's about a month. And so not a crazy.
Madeline Stanley
Not a crazy delay.
Blessing
Yeah. Horizon Hunters Gathering, as I mentioned before, is having a closed beta test set for February 27 through March 1. From VGC, the director behind the Kingdom Come Deliverance games, Daniel Vavra, is stepping away from game development developer Warhorse Studios has announced.
Madeline Stanley
Interesting.
Blessing
Very interesting. I wonder what the story is there. I feel like there's a story I
Madeline Stanley
might be speaking out of turn here. Was that the person who was subtweeting during the Game Awards about.
Blessing
Oh, that's a good question.
Madeline Stanley
About Kingdom Come Deliverance not winning. I'm curious.
Blessing
That's a really good question. I'm just gonna type in. I'm gonna type in Daniel Vavra controversy
Madeline Stanley
and see what happens.
Blessing
Huh. Interesting. I don't know if we got the time to get into this.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, let's go on to.
Blessing
Let's move on to the next one from vgc. Crafton, the South Korean publisher behind such titles as pubg, Subnautica and hi Fi Rush, has created a new executive role designed to further its AI first strategy. Kong Wook Lee, who has served as Crafton's head of AI since 2022, has been promoted to chief AI officer. CIOs we're not doing that. We can't be doing that. A new executive role designed to oversee the company's AI, R&D and mid to long term innovation strategy. Yuck.
Madeline Stanley
Boo earns to that from vgc.
Blessing
One of the cinematic animators who worked on the award winning Claire Obscure Expedition 33 has now joined CD Projekt Red.
Madeline Stanley
Oh, interesting, interesting.
Blessing
Lucy Hennett worked at Sandfall Interactive from May 2023 to the end of 2024 as a cinematic animator where she refined the raw motion capture by improving the body and facial animations. And then finally, Fields of Mystery, a fourth major update has been announced. You're getting ruins, Biome, a conclusion of some quest lines, new secret Bachelorette Lost and Found box has been added to the game and terrariums have been added.
Madeline Stanley
Fun. I played Fields of Mystria, I think when it was still in the beta a while back and I really liked it, but I didn't end up sticking with it for very long.
Blessing
Yeah, I feel like Andy was the person who I heard talk about Fields of Mystery the most, but I've not checked in with him to see if he's still logging in every day, you know, talking to his girlfriends in there. I don't know what you do in that game. It's farming.
Madeline Stanley
It's like Stardew esque.
Blessing
Yeah, but ask me what you do in Stardew.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, you farm, you fish.
Blessing
You farm, you fish, you explore, you hang out in the community.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah. Give people gifts.
Blessing
I feel like most of what I know of Stardew and Fields of Mystery is talking to baddies. I really it's all I hear from these games. Like, oh yeah, I married somebody yesterday. And I'm like, don't you farm? Like what about your crops? Go tend to your crops. Your crops are dying over here. Marrying. Figure out your tomatoes. And that's it for we news. Before we get out of here, let's hop back into super chats, see what people are saying. Street Shadow 20 says, on the topic of Wolverine's release date announcement, didn't the yote date reveal get announced the same way? Just a blog post.
Madeline Stanley
Oh, I don't know.
Blessing
I don't remember. Let's type in Ghost of Yotei release date. Let's do trailer. Let's see if they had a release date trailer. And they have an announced trailer. Ghost of Yote gets a release date. This is from vice on the 23rd. Yeah, it looks like it might have been random. I think it was a place. Actually, I'm vaguely remembering it now because it might have been a PlayStation blog with like a bunch more details about what you can do in the game.
Madeline Stanley
So, yeah, maybe this is their M.O. they're just like, here you go.
Blessing
Yeah, we're like, we don't feel pressure to put to announce release date in a showcase. Like, we'll just announce it when we're ready to do it. I think that makes sense. Honestly, like, I don't think that's a crazy thing. I think release date is like such a sensitive and such a. I guess, like, particular thing when you're talking about how you land on it and like, maybe even the timing of when you want to put it out there. That it doesn't surprise me that for a company like PlayStation, they're like, hey, we don't always align. The stars don't always align. For us, as far as announcing our release dates in February or May, like, sometimes we just got to announce them at the end of February or like in April or something.
Madeline Stanley
Well, and I think, like you mentioned earlier, I would rather them throw it out randomly and be confident about the date, then announce a date too early and then have to move it.
Blessing
Exactly. And I think PlayStation has been better about that in like the last. I'll even say in the last generation. I feel like they announced dates way closer to.
Madeline Stanley
And maybe that's part of the approach. Right. It's just like, okay, well, we're not going to put them in the showcases because we want to be confident on those dates. We'll just do it when we're ready.
Blessing
Clawmaster underscore says late WE News AD here. Ed Boone. Ed Boon. Hold on. Ed Boon on was hinting. I'm reading this verbatim. Ed Boone on was hinting at a possible idea that he might be working on a new killer instinct. Okay, that's not WE News. That's such a. First of all, I don't believe it. Second of all, like, him just saying a thing in passive. You got to give me a link or something if you're going to come in with WE News. Link me. Because I want. I want more proof there.
Madeline Stanley
I'd love to work on until dawn too. So put that in the WE news.
Blessing
Oh, we got. We knew we got a super chat in coming in. Madeline's gonna work on. Hold on to you. That's cool. That's pretty sick. Congratulations.
Madeline Stanley
Thank you.
Blessing
We got one from only special features. Who says I'm excited for the God of War show. Loved Ronald Moore's Outlander, which is just horny Assassin's Creed. I think he'll nail God of War. Cool. We got one from Gato Poppy. Underscore, he says birthday tax. Been listening for a little over a year and loving the content. Thanks for the hard work. P.S. bless the guns. Looking good today. Thank you so much, Gato Poppy. And happy birthday.
Madeline Stanley
Happy birthday, Gato Poppy.
Blessing
Shark89 says with all the games and studio shutting down, I want to shout out Apex Rush, a stunting slash. A stunting slash racing game developed and released last week by YouTuber GTA Stunter Hazardous. Hold on, Kevin, can we look up Apex Rush? Because I want to see this because Hazardous. Yeah, it's a YouTube video. YouTube video, yeah. Apex. Apex Rush. Apex Rush. It's apparently a new racing game and stunt game because I want to say I used to watch hazardous videos. I used to have an era where I was super into just watching people do stunts in gta.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Who? Come on. Come on. You think it's this one? Yeah, that looks like it. Yeah. This, this. This for sure. Is it? You want audio? Sure. Yeah. Put on audio.
Madeline Stanley
Whoa.
Blessing
Hold on. I kind of messed with this. Yeah. For audio listeners. I mean, it's a stunt driving game. Art style is a little bit more colorful than you. Than you'd imagine. Almost has like an arcadey.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah.
Blessing
Kind of feel environments. Look a little bit fortnight y, but like Fortnite, but like, not in, like, a bad way. What's that one game that, like, we liked the Hot Wheels one. Yeah, yeah, I was like that too, but, like, not as pretty. Hold on. I fuck with this. This looks cool. Somebody in chat says track Mania. And I think that's such a good one. Shout out. I used to love playing TrackMania. And this for sure gives you Track Mania vibes because there's no rhyme or reason to how the platforms and. And the, like, roads are set out. Like, you just have stuff that's floating in air and the cars, like, jumping from, like, track to track. That gives super Track Mania vibes. And it's out February 19th. So that's last week.
Madeline Stanley
It's out.
Blessing
It's out. Yeah, I'm checking that out later. Apex Rush.
Madeline Stanley
Clear. Blessings. Afternoon.
Blessing
Clear my afternoon. I'm going to cancel my dentist appointment that I have this afternoon. Jameson Peters says bless you. Had a great call out on last Friday show and I completely forgot what it was. But props to the thing you said that I cannot remember.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, props. Blessing.
Blessing
All right, thank you so much Jason. Jameson Peters 11. I'm sure not much was said on Friday so I should be able to recall it.
Madeline Stanley
Just like six hours of talking.
Blessing
Six hours of talking non stop about very major video game news. Keegan Hill writes in and says, my first ever super chat is for you, Madeline. You're amazing.
Madeline Stanley
Thank you Keegan, you're amazing.
Blessing
Then Mob Axio says, honestly, hope GTA 6 gets delayed. Not a Rockstar Games fan. If it releases this year, I'll just catch up on my backlog of games that comes out this year. That's some hater ass shit right there.
Madeline Stanley
I would also say you don't want it to delay because every other game that you do like is betting on it coming out at that time.
Blessing
Yeah.
Madeline Stanley
So that would mess up all of the other games that you actually like and screw with their whole period. So we want it to release when it is supposed to so that the other game devs can make their plans accordingly.
Blessing
100%. Also, just catch up on your backlog. What's wrong with your backlog? You know, nobody's forcing you to play gta. So like, yeah, I wish I had more time to catch up on my backlog.
Madeline Stanley
Yeah, me too. There's too many games.
Blessing
Way too many games. Alva Alva 7996 says, Is Xbox a ship of Theseus? Plus, if you ask me, everything's a
Madeline Stanley
ship
Blessing
because like, because the way I would look at it, right? If I'm using the my definition that's in my brain that may have changed over time. Who knows. Is my definition of Ship of Theseus a ship of Theseus? Because it's not the same thing anymore.
Madeline Stanley
That's real. That's real shit about it.
Blessing
Silver J. Hawkins writes in and says my my top two Next Fest demos so far are Vampire Crawler and everything is a crab. Now do you want to hear my hot take?
Madeline Stanley
Yes.
Blessing
When I said that I played a demo that I didn't enjoy, it was Vampire Crawlers.
Madeline Stanley
Oh.
Blessing
Which is crazy because I love a card game. I love a card Roguelite, you know, like Vampire Crawlers in theory should be my exact kind of game. But I think it made me realize that the reason I didn't get into Vampire Survivors and The reason why I'm not digging Vampire Crawlers also is just that I just don't like looking at it. And I know that's with intention. Like the art style that they have for those games is very much with intention, but it just does not work for me. Especially with Vampire Crawlers where that game after a few runs or not. Because actually I didn't really get multiple runs into that game after half a run. I'll say was feeling like a casino with the amount of like bells and dings and like you unlock a chest and the chest goes crazy and all this. It was making my brain unhappy. It was just too overstimulating.
Madeline Stanley
I don't want to be in a slot machine esque series where there's yeah, yeah, everything.
Blessing
And it's that with an art style that is like purposely a little bit ugly and just a lot. It's just a lot happening in that game I was not enjoying my time with.
Madeline Stanley
I think aesthetics are an important part of a game and if you're not vibing with it, then there's so many games that you can play that you do vibe with.
Blessing
Exactly. Let's see if we have one more super chat in here. No, I think that's it for super chats. Let's get into kind of funny.com you're wrong where you write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe, Kebabs writes in with a history of Crash Kart racing sequels. So we have Crash Nitro Kart in 2003, Crash Tag Team Racing in 2005 and and then Crash Team Racing Nitro Field which was 2019. So there's more context for you.
Madeline Stanley
And Kebabs is the Crash Bandicoot guru?
Blessing
I believe so, yes. In Ratchet I think. I think Kebabs loves Ratchet Kebabs. Let me know.
Madeline Stanley
I know Kebabs loves Crash.
Blessing
Or is it Sly Cooper? Kebabs likes another platformer. Let's see here. Here we go. I like this one from EJRPG who says the king of meat devs paid Mr. Beast to host a tournament for the game. Having 32 other creat a custom built stage to play for $250,000 prize all paid for by the devs. That's. Listen, I respect the effort of like we got to get this game in front of people's eyes. Who do we call Mr. Beast at the same time? That seems so expensive.
Madeline Stanley
I was thinking the same thing. Like, how much money did they.
Blessing
That must have been a lot of money. A lot of money. Unless Mr. Beast had. I mean, from the super chat, doesn't sound like it, but unless Mr. Beast had some sort of stake or something. But yeah, that's kind of crazy.
Madeline Stanley
Oof. And it's like not a good return on your investment there, which is unfortunate because I'm sure they were hoping like, oh, well, if we get this in front of the biggest YouTuber in the world and a bunch of other creators, like, that will get people excited. And obviously it did not work the way it was supposed to.
Blessing
100%. Madeline, that brings us to the end of Kind of Funny Games Daily. A wonderful time hosting with you.
