Greg Miller
Today. In the nerdy news you need to know about the PlayStation 6 might be copying Nintendo's homework, Pokemon's throwing a Lucha Libre event, and Pragmata is not a Mega man game. We'll have all this and more because this is kinda Funny Games Daily. What's up everybody? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Friday, August 29, 2025. I'm one of your hosts, Greg Miller, alongside Forbes 30 under 30, aka the second best baby blues in San Francisco, aka the married one at Tim Gettys.
Tim Gettys
Let Tim host a lot of the chat saying, why is Tim not wearing the clown outfit? And I get, I think this is actually my first time on Games Daily in like the whole week.
Greg Miller
Oh.
Tim Gettys
Which is weird.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
It's felt like a long time. But I promise you I will wear the clown outfit. I have the clown outfit.
Greg Miller
I'm gonna, if someone doesn't know what's the clown outfit about?
Tim Gettys
We were doing our Gamescom predictions opening Night Live and I, I said that Hollow Knight Silk song will get its release date either at Opening Night Live if, if it's not there, it'll be at the next Nintendo Direct.
Greg Miller
Gotcha. Gotcha.
Tim Gettys
And I, I, you know, Jeff played me because the reason I was saying is because Jeff Keighley was, was tweeting, you know, the clown nose and all that stuff. So I was like, well, he wouldn't do that if Hollow Knight wasn't going to be at GamesCo if he didn't have the release date. And it's like he did, he just didn't. They didn't announce it there. So I'm gonna take the L here. Even though in theory what I was saying was correct. It was. He opened the show announcing it. But I'm gonna Wear it. I'm gonna wear it for you on the day theory. I mean, I'm right. Think about it. Think about it. I'm thinking.
Greg Miller
Then why are you wearing the clown outfit?
Tim Gettys
Because technically they didn't announce the release date.
Greg Miller
So you're wrong.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I'm admitting I'm wrong.
Greg Miller
Okay. But you said you were right in theory. On theory.
Tim Gettys
Theory, technically, theory did different things. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jeff knew the release, had the release. He just couldn't say it. Okay, again, brilliant strategy. I think they did it the right way.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Don't bury the Hollow Knight news.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Tim Gettys
Get it out later.
Greg Miller
I appreciate that.
Tim Gettys
September 4th.
Greg Miller
I appreciate that you're admitting you're wrong with saying you're not wrong. I like that.
Tim Gettys
Well, because it's the truth.
Greg Miller
Sure it is.
Tim Gettys
There's no smile about this.
Greg Miller
I'm smiling. No, I'm not gonna wear a clown outfit. Please. I didn't get anything wrong about what's going on at gamescom. I'm proud of you. Yeah, of course. Thanks to in review. I know you're wearing an Ahsoka shirt today, so congratulations on that too.
Tim Gettys
Ahsoka on the shirt.
Greg Miller
Yeah. There she is.
Tim Gettys
Ready to go. She's a little younger than this is.
Greg Miller
She fought. She wears two. She uses two. Two. Two cybers.
Tim Gettys
Two cybers. Two cyberS.
Greg Miller
Remember how mad everybody was? Tim, you doing good this morning?
Tim Gettys
I'm doing fantastic for so many reasons.
Greg Miller
Give me some of them.
Tim Gettys
Twist Metal Season 2 ended last night. The final three episodes all dropped.
Greg Miller
Oh, wow. Okay. Do you watch them all last night? Yeah. Oh yeah.
Tim Gettys
I've been watching every week.
Greg Miller
I mean, like, I don't want to do the traditional thing of being a parent, but it's crazy how much free time you have.
Tim Gettys
I love that free time.
Greg Miller
I mean, I mean you watched three episodes of that. You watched Peacemaker and you played more Pokemon. Like, you know what I mean? Like.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, but some of those things were like overlapping, but I mean. Yeah, yeah. And also twisted metal, a 30 minute episode.
Greg Miller
Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure.
Tim Gettys
By and by. But Twist Metal Season 2, it's good. Yeah. Gone are the DAT. Like I'm going to meme it forever just because like no one ever here will believe me about how good the show actually. Because I always say this every time on top of the show, I have to bring up its debut clip from the game awards where we saw Samoa Joe Sweet Tooth fighting Anthony, Anthony Mackie. And it looked God awful. The show is so much better than that. And I can't believe they he's he's amazing. And he actually gets to wrestle a little bit this season. It's really nice. Yeah, Twisted Metal's freaking awesome. Everyone watching it knows the amount of people that have started to watch it because of me have been tweeting at me like, dude, you're right. Like, I am so happy I gave the show a chance. But, yeah, season two was better than season one, I think overall, the end of it didn't leave me with the same level of, like, holy that season one did because that was definitely, like, the last episode kicked it up a notch. But the final cut, the final arc, the final tournament thing in season two, impeccable, man. They really got something here. I really hope that the success of the show leads to another game and it does not need to be a giant game. Small game. Really small.
Greg Miller
Do you think?
Tim Gettys
Not small Brawl, but small.
Greg Miller
I appreciate that. As you know, I don't get to keep up as much with entertainment stuff. Are they doing a third season? Has that been announced? No, we're still in flux on that one.
Tim Gettys
It hasn't been announced, but season two was announced pretty quickly after season one because critics liked it and people were watching it. Season two seems to be doing even better, so I imagine it'll get picked up. This is the type of show I want one more season. I don't think we need to go on forever.
Greg Miller
I had seen when people. When this was on the run up to this, people were talking about. Or maybe it was after the first episode that this was more like the game. Is that accurate in terms of, like, the setting? Yeah. Like what's going on? The storyline?
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Because, I mean, the game is just the tournament.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And season one didn't have the tournament. Season one.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Ended teeing up that we're going to get the tournament. So, yeah, this season very much was more the actual crux of the. The game's gameplay just turned into a TV show. And it's freaking awesome. They did such a great job. The people making this love these games and love the 90s. Like, the whole premise of the show is that an apocalypse happened in the mid-90s. So everything.
Greg Miller
That's where everything stopped, Right? Yeah. And stuff.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, a lot of. A lot of great stuff there. But it's. It's highly recommendable. This is a. It's a legitimately just good comedy show. It has the. The vibe of Idle Hands.
Greg Miller
Hello, Is this Samoa Joe?
Tim Gettys
It is indeed him.
Greg Miller
Hey, this is Greg Miller. You're live on Kind of Funny Games Daily, a show you've co hosted before. How are you?
Tim Gettys
Hey, what's up, Greg? How you doing? I'm good. I remember that show I co hosted before.
Greg Miller
You put us on the map. It was great. Tim is giving his review of season two of Twisted Metal and he says it's fantastic.
Tim Gettys
Oh, I'm glad. I would hate to have seen Tim and have to do something to him.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah. Here, I'm gonna pass it over to Tim and he's gonna tell you how great you are.
Tim Gettys
Hello, Joe, you were fantastic as Sweet Tooth in. In season one of the show. But season two, I think you brought it even more. I was very, very impressed with the physicality. I'm happy that they allowed you to. To show off the skills. Oh, well, Tim, I appreciate that, man. I'm glad. Well, they. I will say this. They've never had a problem. Let me explore the space. So, you know, I get to have a lot of fun, uh, doing a lot of different takes and they just take the best ones. Yeah, I love it, man. That's awesome. Well, congrats, because real talk, I. I really love the show and I hope we get a season three.
Greg Miller
Me too.
Tim Gettys
I'm glad you guys all enjoyed it and appreciated it and we look forward to hopefully doing it again in a year or so. Hell yeah, man. All right, talk to you later. All right, thanks, guys.
Greg Miller
Bye. Bye. What a nice young man.
Tim Gettys
What a nice man. You know what I mean?
Greg Miller
What a nice young man.
Tim Gettys
People need to know that Greg Miller has.
Greg Miller
Don't worry about me.
Tim Gettys
Crazy.
Greg Miller
What else was going on?
Tim Gettys
Well, yeah, everyone watch Twisted Metal because I want the show to succeed and it is an example of video game adaptation done, right?
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And for anybody saying, like, who's asking for this? There are people asking. Tim's asking for me, and they nailed it.
Greg Miller
And apparently enough people to get another one.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. And they also teed up a season three perfectly, so, like, it makes sense. They clearly want it and I hope that they get it. But the next thing I want to talk about is just a very, very, very cool thing that the homies over at Nintendo Life did. My hope, my homie Zeon, I think is how you say his name. Z I O n. I've met him a bunch of times, but. And I feel bad that I don't.
Greg Miller
Actually know, hey, you're off the race.
Tim Gettys
But also, I like, I. I heard him say it in this video and he said differently than I expected him to, so that I'm in my head about it.
Greg Miller
Oh, I see. But no, I see. I've been there. I've been there.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. So they. He always does very, very cool Nintendo themed videos. He's the, the dude that carried his 3Ds and did the street pass for everywhere he traveled. And like just crazy stories. Always like fun like cool Nintendo gimmick videos. He did it again. This time his idea was to find the memories and art of Mario Paint. So he went to a ton of used game stores over the last couple of years buying 100 copies of Mario Paint on the Super Nintendo to try to load them up and find the last art saved. So to try to find like all the memories of people for all the art, the music that they made, the animations or the images and yeah, they bought 100 copies of Mario Paint and they put out this 45 minute video of one by one going through every single one.
Greg Miller
Can we fast forward to I will.
Tim Gettys
Say the majority of it. It's a dud of majority of it. Either the save battery was dead or there was nothing there. Or they just like this, like for example, this art that's just basic color that comes with the game. But there was a handful of big wins. Like there's a handful of like really cool things that would pop up. And anytime there actually was art saved on the cartridge, you'd have to go to the little like load save robot. And when you hit load, depending on how detailed the art was, the little like load music would take longer. And so they get super hyped about it. I'm like, we got something good. We got something good. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. And there was only like, I'd say maybe like two that were like, holy crap.
Greg Miller
Like they, they like out kick. They were just amazing.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. Like super dope anime stuff like that was very, very cool. But then the majority of it was like that like I did growing up.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
But very, very cool idea and I love that they committed to it and.
Greg Miller
I wish it had paid off.
Tim Gettys
Well, he explains in the end. But it's just like it does pay off. Like even though there's not like it's not like, oh, there's so much art to look at. It's like just the idea of some of them working and some of them not and like attempting to do this and like not faking it, not fabricating it in any way. Just like we're actually going to take the time to look at 100. It's very, very cool. I'd highly recommend it over on the Nintendo Life YouTube channel.
Greg Miller
Fair enough. Tim, we got news to get into. But first I wanted to call out, can you imagine running this business in 2008? 9, 10. And I know what you're gonna say. Well, no, YouTube and I, I mean if we could do everything and specifically video game codes. Yeah, we have a trello where I put up the card. I say who wants a code? I then hit a pr, I come back with the codes, I put them in trello and like it just dawned on me today as I was posting all the codes for NBA 2K and then I went and got cool. Greg, Goosebumps, Terror and Little Creek. Like, like how crazy it was that when I started in this industry, like IGN didn't buy you the game. So if you didn't review the game, you had to buy the game. Most likely there was, you know, your THQs who sent you everything or did whatever. But like usually you weren't. Maybe you got three copies of something to pass around the office and now it's just like unlimited codes. Goodness.
Tim Gettys
It's awesome, man.
Greg Miller
Very cool. It is an awesome.
Tim Gettys
I can't wait for Greg's review of Goosebumps, Terror in Little Creek. He's been hyped on this.
Greg Miller
Is he going to actually review it?
Tim Gettys
He's not gonna review it.
Greg Miller

Tim Gettys
Make them rain.
Greg Miller
So much stuff happened today, but Kevin made sure we have a show. Number one on the Rope Report Sony Is Reportedly Planning a Nintendo Switch style PlayStation 6 Portable this is Andy Robinson at VGC News. Sony is planning a PlayStation 6 handheld with Nintendo Switch style television docking capabilities, it's claimed that's according to Moore's Law is Dead, a YouTube channel that had previously leaked accurate technical info on PlayStation consoles before their announcement. In a new video, M lid shares specific technical specifications for the PlayStation 6 handheld. The PS6 handheld, which will reportedly release alongside a traditional, more powerful PlayStation 6 home console, which it says is based on up to date documentation from graphics partner amd. Notably, Moore's Law, says it's seen multiple documents that directly call out that the planned PlayStation 6 Portable can be docked like a Nintendo Switch, and claims that it will be capable of playing games natively at power exceeding the base level of the PlayStation 5. When docked, the PlayStation 6 Portable will reportedly feature an AMD APU featuring four Zen 6C cores and two further cores dedicated entirely to system tasks. In addition, PS6 is said to feature 16XR DNA 5 CU's GPU clocked at 1.2. Oh, I'm sorry, Back to the Future popped up there for a second. 1.21 gigawatts, 1.2 gigahertz in handheld mode and 1.65 gigahertz docked. Moore's Law is dead. Speculates based on spec, based on specification. Specification cost. You don't hear that thrown around in this terminology.
Tim Gettys
Specs.
Greg Miller
Yeah, it was specific costs. The specification. I don't know. I'm not. I mean, I'm out of my wheelhouse with the tech words cost that the PS6 handheld could retail for around $500 in release in late 2027?
Tim Gettys
Not a chance. Not a chance. In fuck, $500?
Greg Miller
Oh, okay, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Hell, we're even close to that.
Greg Miller
How much is the portal selling for right now?
Tim Gettys
And I know this is different portal is 200.
Greg Miller
200, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Do the math on that. Yeah, it's not gonna be $500. And if it is, it's going to be way more portal like than dedicated PlayStation 6 portable. Very interesting. You know, there are have been a lot of rumors around this. I am still very skeptical about PlayStation's plans with a dedicated handheld, whatever that means. I also don't think that a dedicated handheld in the old school sense will ever exist again.
Greg Miller
They're not doing a PSP.
Tim Gettys
No. Exactly. And they should not do that.
Greg Miller
100% no sense. This sounds. I understand we're quick to throw in the PlayStation 6 moniker. Of course. This sounds like what you would expect in my opinion at least of like, yeah, they're gonna make a PlayStation 6. They're gonna make the more powerful box and then we're going to have. But I do think, as if they hadn't already, generations are getting murkier and murkier and don't exist to some degree. You're going to get a PlayStation handheld that runs at least a PlayStation 5. Yes. Hopefully a little bit more than a PlayStation 5. Good or bad Xbox series S levels. You know what?
Tim Gettys
I know, I know. But there's just a lot there that like, we can say these things, but it's like then there's the reality of the world of like, until everything is just working on the PC handheld side of things, like when we'll see what this Xbox alley ally. Right. That is going to move the needle as much as it possibly can, which is not going to be the portable Xbox that it sounds like it's being marketed as. And that's just the complicated nature of where we're at with generations with the different consoles, with Xbox specifically. But you look at the PlayStation side of things, the idea of a portable PlayStation 5 like, I don't care. The PlayStation 5 came out five years ago. That doesn't mean, oh yeah, we can have a handheld of it now. Even like, oh, just a slightly less powerful. It's like that's just not how this works.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Especially at any realistic price point, period. So I also think technology is rapidly increasing. Cloud technology is rapidly increasing and being adopted. So there are compromises and ways around it that yes, I do think a product will exist. Product already exists. It's the PlayStation Portal.
Greg Miller
Love it.
Tim Gettys
But there are definitely things that they could do to take that even further for the people that want it. There's clearly an audience for that. So it's going to be interesting and to your point, of generations mattering less and less. Even looking at the PlayStation only side of things like the amount of games that are on PS5 that are also on PS4. We're going to see that with PlayStation 6 where so many of the games are also on PlayStation 5.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And I don't think it's going to be a Switch one, Switch two type situation where oh it runs clearly fucking better. It's playable on one and unplayable on the other. Yeah, I think it'll just like God of War, Ragnarok. Yeah, you get more features on the next gen version.
Greg Miller
I mean but Bugsnax, a PlayStation 5. But PlayStation PlayStation 5 launch title, a PlayStation 4 game as well. Miles Morales. The PlayStation 5 launched out PlayStation 4, guess what? There was load screens that took way longer on both. They didn't look as sharp.
Tim Gettys
No dual sense stuff.
Greg Miller
That's the situation you're driving to. And I do think that when we get to there it's going to be a much better system of smart delivery and all this other stuff, you know what I mean? The stuff that Xbox has crushed in terms of again. Is the rog ally Xbox going to move the needle? No, it's going to be super exciting for dorks like me and dorks like you. Especially for people like me that are like already so into this Xbox game anywhere system. But what I love about that is the pick up and play nature and it's syncing up and doing the thing and okay, I can sacrifice the quality of what I'm playing on the plane because I know I'm gonna come home to playing Outer Worlds 2 on my Xbox series X or on my razor blade 16 or whatever versus this where it's like this is kind of the dream as well. And it's almost the dream of what I think so many people want the Xbox ally X to be right. They want it just to be a portable Xbox. They want it to be that it's just an Xbox in their hands, but it's really a PC. And so you're getting into the Xbox PC space more than that. A PlayStation handheld that is in the same ecosystem family as the 5 and 6 is going to be what I would truly want. So that it is that, you know, like last night I'm playing or two nights ago Jen wanted me to come to bed with her. I'm like, okay, so I'm playing redacted while she's sleeping next to me. And it was that thing of like oh, my portal's been in too many rooms with different wifi's got to restart it because it's getting laggy and it's only, it only gets laggy when it's not sure what WI fi it's reading anymore. So reboot the damn thing. Come in. All right, now we're off to the races and I, I want to pick it up and just have it be PlayStation. I want to take that on the plane when I go to New York coming up.
Tim Gettys
The problem though, you're talking about make believe land. Like that's amazing but there's a reason the Xbox ally can't play Xbox games. It can play Xbox PC games because those are different things. Like games are made differently on PC when they're made for PlayStation. And I, I, we're not going to be there anytime soon. Like we're just not. So it's going to be interesting. By 2027. Are we closer to there? I don't know.
Greg Miller
But I don't think by 2027 you can. They're making a smaller PlayStation, a PlayStation 5 that's a little bit more powerful but looks less good or whatever.
Tim Gettys
No.
Greg Miller
Okay. I mean do you like again, when we get to tech stuff and computers and CPUs and central processing unit. Somebody want me to spell it out for them over there? I'm so outside of my wheelhouse that all I know is that take a piece of tech that's expensive and big and in five years it will be smaller and cheaper. So it's like I don't, I don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility that they're going to have a PlayStation handheld that can play my PlayStation 5 games natively. Remote play like my portal does in play has some, I mean if it's again, if they figure out smart Delivery, I'm playing PlayStation 6 games, I'm playing PlayStation games because I think that's where we're going. We're gonna have PlayStation games that you can play on your five and you play on your six and then they figure out and bells and whistles it and give you whatever again, that's the dream.
Tim Gettys
I'd love that. I just really, I don't believe that that is anywhere close to us. Like at some point, yeah, technology will get there in pricing all stuff. But with where we're at right now with pricing, I have no reason to believe the prices are going. This generation is different for so many reasons.
Greg Miller
But, and the pricing. Yes, yes, yes. But even, but pricing, I mean I'm aware of tariff land and where we're at.
Tim Gettys
Even that Stuff outside of this. It's like there already was a PS5 slim. Right. And it's not less powerful or anything, it's just smaller. So I. I don't think we're going to get in two years small enough to like slap a screen on this thing and have it actually work and have a battery. Like all the things a portable system would need to be able to play.
Greg Miller
PlayStation games, you know, as you and me, as portable people, as PC portable people. We said goodbye to the battery. We don't care. I can run this for 45 minutes. Good enough. Thanks, everybody. I'll pay through the nose. I'll buy an anchor battery pack. I'm all set.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, we'll see. I want to be very clear. I. I'm a huge supporter of this. This is the dream. That is what I want. I want a PlayStation Portable that can play my PlayStation 5 and hopefully 6. Be able to, sure, get a. A slightly lesser version of it on the plane, but then come home and play the great one and have it all, like, work out. Yeah, that's the dream. I just have zero faith that that's a reality that's coming anytime soon. Like, if that were to be the case, like, if you told me by 2030, I'd be like, all right, cool, I could buy it 2027, get out of town. 2028, nine, even.
Greg Miller
Like 2027. Yeah. I just don't see being the launch of the PlayStation 6. I just don't. That too, I think. And so like that insane. Then we get into conversations and rumors we've heard before of they're working on a PlayStation Portable and it'll be a little bit more than PlayStation 5. I see. I could easily see that happening before the PlayStation 6. I definitely don't think this is like saying they're coming out the same time. I don't think you launch your bells and whistles PlayStation 6 for $650, whatever it's going to be with tariff land. And alongside that here also is a handheld that's $500 according to this thing, which I don't buy either, necessarily. Right. Like, yeah, you space those out. And granted, I know that the dockable, carryable PlayStation would be a niche item. That would be a luxury item for many people. It wouldn't be like a skew. It's similar what they do with remote play, where there's an audience for that, but not necessarily everybody.
Tim Gettys
I mean, I disagree. I think that we're getting quickly to a point that the expectation is going to be handheld and docked and all of that. And I feel like that if that's.
Greg Miller
The case then this should be the PlayStation 6.
Tim Gettys
I mean that, well that's, I mean I'm there too of like figuring that all out and then yeah, then it's a thousand dollar device that can do it all. But that also is just such a different strategy than what we've seen from PlayStation specifically.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Tim Gettys
And so I, I doubt it. But I do think that there's. That that could make sense. I think that the industry as a whole is going that direction. It's just PlayStation right now are in a very different spot than Xbox and I mean Xbox is fucked for a bazillion different reasons. Mainly branding is the thing for them, but they're going to get through that. I just don't think that PlayStation are taking the steps towards this being the future.
Greg Miller
The thing about PlayStation especially, Pkunagi said, I've seen so many reports about it coming alongside the PS sticks. I could see it happening. I just say not a chance. I think in a world where we're all so hung up on 80 games, the PlayStation 5 going up in price, the inability to know what things will cost tomorrow, I just don't see PlayStation being like, especially with all the lumps in the memes they became with PlayStation 3 coming out being like, listen, here's the PlayStation 6, here's the handheld and here's the bundle for $1500 or whatever. Like I just, I don't see, I mean I could be wrong. But anyways, back to what we were driving at right now. PlayStation has been so successful last generation and, but really into this generation of just being fucking quiet, making the stuff when they make it, whether it's whatever and they don't rock the boat. I don't look at PlayStation, I know Mark's turn, his head's gonna explode. But I don't look at PlayStation and think of them trying to innovate on hardware and get super weird with stuff. I feel like more than ever with the success they've seen from four to five, they've just like, this is what we do, this is the box we make. This is the controller with an innovative controller.
Tim Gettys
But like I think that that's the thing though, right? Like that is.
Greg Miller
I do. It's just, I don't know, like I still feel the docking in the system and the thing is going to be so again. And I know this, I, I'm arguing myself. I think it's gonna be a weird thing for PlayStation that they're gonna market it more like the Portal, less like the Switch, where this is a thing for a dedicated PlayStation audience and a PlayStation family and a PlayStation gamer and DA, da, da. It's like, I don't. Is that going to go big, big, big. I think they do keep it small, and they promote it small in the same way they did VR, in the same way they did Portal. And then we have the thing like, oh, man, it sold way better than we thought it would. Yada, yada, yada. I don't know. I don't see them switching their focus to being like, we are. This is something we want. Everybody's home. They want you to buy the PlayStation 6. They want naughty Dog's next game to look so fucking great on that thing.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, we'll see.
Greg Miller
We will see. Everybody. Cody, Super Chat says, I don't know if handheld gaming has. In the audience, y' all think. To which point I would turn around and say, look at the Nintendo Switch. You don't think of it as a handheld. You think of as Nintendo's console. And that's what's changed the fucking game. And it was already dying, but killed handheld gaming of like, oh, now we can't do that anymore. Nobody wants a lesser version of Assassin's Creed because they can carry their pocket. They want Assassin's Creed in their pocket, which is why you've seen the rise of PC handhelds, and yes, they have not taken the world by storm, but I do think that is PC handhelds haven't taken the world by storm just simply because the world's wet, though the world is wet.
Tim Gettys
It wasn't wet before.
Greg Miller
It wasn't wet before. They haven't taken the world by storm just because of. And I know this isn't me doing a character. I swear. The complexity of PC gaming again. Consoles are easy to come home, plug in, and play. When people say they want an Xbox handheld, they're talking about wanting to take their Xbox with them and be ready to go, which is why this ally is going to be awesome. For me, as somebody who understands PC game, pass game, anywhere, all this different stuff, and it's gonna be not what the majority of people want. They're gonna turn this on, be like, wait, what? Why? Oh, but it's not. Oh, it's. I don't want that. I just want a console on my hands, which is what Switch did, which is why it's less powerful, but why it's ultimately so fucking successful. And eventually I still believe Xbox. And I know that what the rumor was from Jez months ago that they were turning their focus to the ally, but they weren't. The they they're putting their own personal handheld on ice. But it's still a project that could happen. I believe that. I also believe they could still be working on it. I believe PlayStation is working on this as well because again, they're seeing the success of Nintendo, they're seeing the appetite of gamers like yourself who do want games on the go with their Steam deck, with their rog, with their et cetera. And I think they're gonna, everybody's gonna try to get there so that they can get that to the mainstream and be like, listen, everything you love about the Nintendo Switch is here in this system. And now you can play Warzone from your couch on wifi. Not remote play, just the experience. Will it look as good? Of course not. But that's what they're trying to do.
Tim Gettys
Yep.
Greg Miller
They've seen the success, they see the dollar signs and they want to chase it. And I'm excited for it. Tim. Yeah, I'm also excited to keep making Kinda Funny content, but we couldn't do that without your support, Remember? It's only hard to believe it works as well as I'm saying until you try xreal AR glasses for yourself and then you will see that the tech is here. Greg Miller
Tim, you're looking sexier than ever.
Tim Gettys
Thanks for having me.
Greg Miller
Hey, how are you? Thanks for.
Tim Gettys
Hey, good morning, Greg. What's going on, everybody?
Greg Miller
Well, Tim's friend Kuran's rolling up to drop something off, so Tim had to run out there and get.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, can we.
Greg Miller
Can you.
Tim Gettys
Can you talk about how he described the car?
Greg Miller
No, we shouldn't. I don't want to do that. Of course. Does the spreadsheet that makes all of our in review rankings work? So we shouldn't piss him off? All right.
Tim Gettys
We shouldn't do that.
Greg Miller
I like that. Instead, you can sit in for story number two, a Heartbreaker Number two. Capcom settles it. No, Pragmatic isn't a secret Mega man game. This is Andy Robinson over at VGC News. Capcom has officially debunked one popular online fan theory, that its upcoming sci fi action game Pragmata is secretly a Mega man revival. Online fan Theories kicked off earlier this year, noting the similarities between the design of Pragmata's robot girl sidekick Diana and Capcom's Mega man, as well as the thematic connections, like the game taking place on a moon base taken over by evil machines infected by a virus. However, Capcom has now officially debunked the rumor after vgc Pragmata, I'm sorry, quizzed Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama about The theory, quote, Pragmata is not a Mega man game. He laughed. It is a completely new game from Capcom. I was actually one of the producers on Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection as well. So I'm happy to see people who love Mega man are passionate about Pragmata 2. From my standpoint, it's nice to see people are being so positive about it. End quote. I don't fucking buy it.
Tim Gettys
You think he's doing the double side?
Greg Miller
Damn. Everybody caught on too quick. Let's debunk. Debunk it. Try to get out there. Debunk it.
Tim Gettys
Okay, Because I'm over here taking this news going. Oh man, thank God. Because y' all had me riled up about the Mega man stuff as not being a big Mega man guy. Besides Mega Man Soccer, one of the all time best, never forget, you know what I mean? I'm over here like, do I need to start playing Mega Man? What do I need to know about this?
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
To enjoy this. So I'm happy with this news. But also, what if it's a double psych?
Greg Miller
I think it's a double psych, man. I think it's just people are too close. You gotta lie now. You gotta lie. You gotta lie. People talk. And again, it keeps it in the. Guess what, here's another beat. We're in the headlines. We're on Games Daily again.
Tim Gettys
That is the positive here, is you keep it. Keeps you in the news cycle. We talk about it. We have a fun little quote here. Hahaha. No, it's not Mega Man Winky. You know what I mean? Watch out.
Greg Miller
That's the thing Andy's leaving out of this report. Did he wink? Did he say something and then wink.
Tim Gettys
You know, his fingers crossed behind his back.
Greg Miller
Exactly. Do we see it all the way through? I can't wait for Pragmata. Based on the demo, which I think is a vertical slice, I think Pragmata is still quite a ways out. But I'm excited to see it. I don't need it to be a Mega man tie in, but I just think that'd be fucking cool if you hit credits and then or whatever, Dr. Wiley shows up or some, you know, some guy named Dr. W. It would.
Tim Gettys
Be a pretty wow moment right there. But I'm really excited for this game. Surprisingly you guys have really gushed about it coming off the previews. And I'm excited to see what it's bringing to the table with that fun combat that you guys were talking about. Kind of the gadget, the moment to moment with the hack the guys and.
Greg Miller
Then shoot the guys. Yeah.
Tim Gettys
So, yeah, write this down. I'm interested.
Greg Miller
Down, everybody.
Tim Gettys
And if it becomes Mega man, cool. Sounds like a wild moment.
Greg Miller
You're not. You're going to be all about that. If it comes Mega Man, I'm like.
Tim Gettys
Oh, snap, I got to play all the Mega Man.
Greg Miller
CJ splits on says bad marketing. Let people think it's Mega Man. It's a double edged sword. Because of course, if you let people run with its Mega man, it's Mega man, then they're going to get there. And if it's not Mega man, they're going to be pissed off.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. But also having a quick interview where you're saying it's not Mega man put you back in the news. We keep talking about the road.
Greg Miller
You know, we've never talked enough about pragmata, so I appreciate that. Speaking about something we don't talk enough about. Number three on the ROPA Report, Pokemon Legends Z to A celebrates upcoming launch with Lucha Libre showdown. This is Darren at GameSpot. Mike, let's do a full stop. You were on Games Daily yesterday.
Tim Gettys
Yep.
Greg Miller
My listened, of course. You of course complimented me on coming back from Pokemon Worlds. Tim, come on here because we. Get a mic, get a mic because we. This is everybody. This involves everybody. Okay, okay. This involves you, the audience. We have a problem. Yesterday you talked about Pokemon. You talked about me coming back from Pokemon Worlds.
Tim Gettys
Yes.
Greg Miller
And being professional. Blessing said I was professional for saying Pokemon Legend Z Day. Because of course, we've been calling it Za. We call it Za.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And I said, of course. I was blown away. I went to the demo and saw them usher in the people before me and then my group afterwards. And both times the woman introduced it as Pokemon Legends Z to A. I come home last night, the one, the only Uncle Jordan. That's Jordan Midler from VGC, the big man in my WhatsApp saying with a voice memo, you're fucking wrong. And he says, whoever told me it's Z2A is incorrect. And he went as far as to hit up European PR who said, no, it's not Z2A.
Tim Gettys
That it is Zickens. It's just ZA.
Greg Miller
I mean, that's what I mean. Jordan Midler. I'm asking right now permission to play your message. I'm gonna play your message. Okay. Because he doesn't name names. Let's go back.
Tim Gettys
Name names. Who's Mr. Nintendo? D to A, Z A. I like Z to A though. It was kind of like a cool spin. No, it's Pokemon Legends Z A. Whoever.
Greg Miller
Told you it was Z to A.
Tim Gettys
Has no clue what they're talking about. First of all, the problem is the Japanese katakana for Z reads like Zeto or Zito.
Greg Miller
So people are clowns. Have thought that it's actually Z2A.
Tim Gettys
It's just ZA or ZD is also acceptable. This comes from Pokemon's chief of European pr. Z is not acceptable.
Greg Miller
You don't think so?
Tim Gettys
No, no.
Greg Miller
I guess they're right. But I still feel like I'm going to hit up RPR guy.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Check on that. You know what I mean? Why don't you call him right now? Step off.
Tim Gettys
No, don't call him on the show.
Greg Miller
Don't call him on the show.
Tim Gettys
I've been calling him a lot. I've been bothering him a lot. I know, but I like.
Greg Miller
No, I never save his number.
Tim Gettys
No. Y' all have a great time. I'll see you on the next one.
Greg Miller
I gotta remember this man's number. Mr. Nintendo, you know? Yeah. No, that's not him. Did I save it under this? No, he gets off easy because I can't remember his number. We'll get to the bottom of it.
Tim Gettys
We'll get to the bottom of it.
Greg Miller
But again, Middler knows a lot.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, he does.
Greg Miller
So if he says, I apologize. Oh, I don't apologize. I got sold a false bill of goods at the demo. Twice. I saw it twice from the same person in the same presentation. Z Day.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Why didn't somebody step up in there? Talk, stop them.
Tim Gettys
When you played Super Mario Brothers growing up. Yeah, I know. You're more of a world kid.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But like Mario 1, Mario 2, Mario 3, there's world 1, 1, dash, 1, 2, whatever. Growing up, I always said 1 to 1, 1 to 2.
Greg Miller
Oh, interesting.
Tim Gettys
And I think that's just because you learn the dash. It's like normally in sports. But that was wrong. People could be wrong about that.
Greg Miller
I mean, people still say Mario.
Tim Gettys
They do.
Greg Miller
They're well aware that's wrong. You know?
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Ida Gross, number three. Pokemon Legend Za. We're trusting in Middler. Everybody celebrates upcoming launch with Lucha Libre showdown. This is Darren over at GameSpot. Pokemon Legends ZA launches for Switch Cons soon. And to celebrate, the Pokemon company has announced a special event for the game that will feature live lucha libre wrestling, also known as the best form of wrestling by people of quality. Crushed it, Darren. The event will kick off on September 25th at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. The Pokemon company says the showcase will feature four exhibition matches with One of the confirmed performers being Mystico, who performed in WWE, of course, in the early 2010s under the ring name Sin Cara. The Pokemon company added that tickets for the event will go on sale soon, soon, but if you can't make it, the matches will be streamed via the official Pokemon and Conseijo Mundial de Lucha Libre YouTube channels. The announcement was made shortly after the reveal of brand new Mega Evolution for Pokemon Legend Za. Fittingly, the Pokemon getting the power up in the game is Hawlucha, a luchador themed Pokemon with unique high flying moves in its arsenal. Hawlucha's Mega Evolution doubles down on its wrestling inspiration, giving it ornate plumage and making it look ready for a main event match at the next WrestleMania. Pokemon Legends ZA launches on October 16th for Switch 2 and Switch and will be reviewed by Greg Miller.
Tim Gettys
This is so freaking cool. I was at Arena Mexico when I went to Mexico City. Oh, yeah, yeah. We talked all about. It was a long time ago. It was, sorry, yeah. I got to see them all and anyone in Mexico City, I highly recommend going to, to see a show at Arena. They happen all the time. But on top of that, there was a cool tour that we did beforehand where they kind of like guide you around the area and give you a history of the the spot and some of the different characters will be seeing. They gave everyone masks and stuff. It was a lot of fun. So I think it's cool that they're doing this. And I, I again, going back to what I was saying yesterday about Pokemon Legends marketing, I like that they're really going all out for it and making these Mega Evolution Pokemon big deals and like having fun marketing events around it that feel like they make sense and there's like love and care put into it because that's not always the case with our little pocket monsters.
Greg Miller
I want you to know as the number one Pokemon fan in the office, the number one Hallucha fan in the office, how upset I am by the date September 25th. My wife will be out of town, so I can't pressure the Pokemon company to send me and Tim to this.
Tim Gettys
To Mexico City.
Greg Miller
Dude, it can't be that hard. It's not. How long was the flight from here to Mexico City? Four hours.
Tim Gettys
Maybe like five and a half.
Greg Miller
We could do a day trip.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean? Come in the night before, drink all.
Tim Gettys
Day, go to the Pokemon show with Hawlucha.
Greg Miller
Exactly. Right. A lousy ass Ben. You know, I thought, what if I brought him with me?
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And Then I was like ah, Jen's probably not stoked if I was to cross country lines with him to a new country. You know what I mean? Like that's whole thing.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Sucks. You know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
I know dude.
Greg Miller
But we still watch it online together.
Tim Gettys
That's gonna be cool.
Greg Miller
It's it we could. I. I'm wondering. No. Yeah.
Tim Gettys
What.
Greg Miller
What? Mexico City. What time is it? What times are they? They. They central yet? They still.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, it's central.
Greg Miller
Okay. Okay. So maybe we could do a live reaction or something to it. You know, depending on the event. Another central office. Maybe that. Maybe that's the first wrestling Ben ever sees.
Tim Gettys
Oh dude, he'd love pull him out of school.
Greg Miller
We come here, we do the live reacts to it.
Tim Gettys
It'd be great.
Greg Miller
Okay, we'll think about this, everybody. Number four on the Roper. Oh, and how'd everything go with Kearney's? You okay?
Tim Gettys
Everything's good.
Greg Miller
Okay, great. Number four on the Roper Report. Steam Deck 2 in two years we go to Grace. Ben fell over at Gamespot. A new rumor points to a potential 2020 28. That's another year that sounds made up.
Tim Gettys
That's crazy.
Greg Miller
Yesterday was. Somebody said 2031. I was like shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. 2028 release window for the Steam Deck 2. The source of the rumor is a post on forum NeoGAF, which I did not even know was still kicking from Hardware leaker Kepler L2. Within a thread about Steam Deck competitors, a user wondered if the upcoming Rog Xbox Asus Ally would be undercut by new portable PC releases from MSI or Valve. Kepler L2 replied. Steam Deck 2 is 2028 without further details. Officially, Valve has released no information on the timing or the potential hardware of a Steam Deck follow up. In response to speculation about a revised steam deck in 2024, Valve said the next model would be a generational leap. The original Steam Deck first launched in February 2022 and was followed by an OLED upgrade in November 2023. Valve has continued to support both platforms with new updates and features. Recently, Valve expanded its Steam Deck Verified program to hardware able to run SteamOS, meaning you can now check if a Steam game will run on your Legion, Go s or other portable PC platforms. The popularity of the Steam Deck has resulted in a horde of competitors. Microsoft is releasing a Steam Deck competitor via an Xbox branded version of the ROG ASUS Ally. That device will launch October 16th. Timothy, how do you feel about this date?
Tim Gettys
Date I believe and I buy any of this info I don't believe at all. This just seems like the most speculation kind of pulled out of educated guesses I've ever seen. It does make sense though. I don't think that we're close to a Steam Deck too. Yeah, and 2028, I mean 2027 I wouldn't be surprised by. I just don't see one happening this year and not this year. And I think it's very unlikely to be next year. But wouldn't be the most shocking thing if towards the tail end of next year it it makes an appearance. I just think that with all the talk of SteamOS, I am kind of expecting more of a. A home theater like or living room type of box of some sort.
Greg Miller
Okay, I would natively something like that.
Tim Gettys
I wouldn't be surprised if we got something like that in the sooner time. But I also think that Steam's in a very, very interesting place right now with how Xbox is making its moves when whether it's actually like dedicated PC stuff or on the handheld side of things, and how all these different OSes are kind of maturing. I am very interested in the next year of how all the handshakes are working out because we know that the Ally X can like load Steam and have your Steam games and all that. There is the question of like, all right, is the Steam Deck going to be able to load into this Xbox os? That's not the official name for it.
Greg Miller
No, of course, whatever it is.
Tim Gettys
And as far as I know right now that is not the case. That has not been confirmed. It's not even necessarily something that is likely. But I do think that that can change at any moment. I know you can dual boot on the Steam Deck. There are ways around it for sure. But just how much like simpatico, hey, we're all getting along here. Let's all just try to win. Is there going to be? And how much actual competition is there going to be? Because the Steam Deck is in a league of its own currently when it comes to the handheld gaming PC market. But I think that they also just haven't had a direct competition with a group that has like their own dedicated storefront in games like Xbox has. So I also don't think that the Ally X is necessarily going to eat Steam Deck's lunch at this point when it launches. But I do think that it's going to be the stiffest competition that it's had. But do they look at them as competition or collaborators? That's the question I want to see. I hope that makes sense.
Greg Miller
No, it makes perfect sense. Yeah. Yeah. Steam Deck 2, I imagine is coming. Valve's always such a weird company. They can do whatever they want. They can abandon projects whenever they want to. So I would. I mean, I think a Steam Deck 2 makes perfect sense. Again, they talk about generational leaps so when they can do it back to what we're talking about earlier, when you can get the most powerful stuff at the best price point in a handheld factory and all that jazz. But yeah, I don't, I don't buy it being soon based on how quiet it's been on the western front on this. But again, I also think valves in some, to some respect, Valve as a whole, not their hardware division or whatever, has to sit back right now and just be happy with what they did. They pushed that boulder. They rolled it down the hill. Handheld PC more popular than ever, better than ever. All these other people are making stuff which inevitably is leading to more purchases on Steam, more users on Steam, more concurrents on Steam. So it's like they don't need to get off the bench with the two. Like, you know what I mean? If that makes sense. This doesn't.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I mean there will come a time that it's. It's needed. I don't think that we're there yet because I still think that we're at a point that the Steam Deck 1 and specifically the OLED edition were designed with a level of video games in mind on the lower end that we're still kind of in. Like there are always going to be the insane games that can't run. Like they're not going to run on a Steam deck too either, I don't think. And by the time these games we're talking about do, there'll be new games.
Greg Miller
New games are even crazier.
Tim Gettys
But like we're just at a point that like Elden Ring can run on the Steam Deck. Like cool. There, there's the Elden Ring is game of the year, game of the generation to many of from the last couple years. Like that is a modern game. That game is also on last gen consoles though. Right. So there is something to be said there. But I think that Steam Deck's right where it wants to be in terms of smaller indie games, but even in terms of bigger AAA games to an extent, you add on all the cloud capabilities. I will not stop talking about GeForce now and how incredible it is. And now that it's native on the Steam deck, it's incredible. So yeah, they have so many just Wins under the belt. But I think the most important thing about Steam Deck, we've talked about this a million times, is how much the developers are supporting it and realizing the importance of it and the Steam Deck Verified program and how seriously they all take that. And when we see emails that are frustrating, when they're just like, ah, please don't play on the Steam Deck. And then the ones that are amazing, that are just like, hey, it's Steam Deck Verified. We we care about this. Like that is making video games. That is that the work being done because of the Steam Deck from the devs now is going to allow a potential future where the PlayStation dreams that you have might actually hey, of course.
Greg Miller
And I think you know to the PR emails of don't play this on Steam Deck or this is Steam Deck Verified. The fact that you saw that switch so quickly from when I remember got when I got my Steam Deck and then I would start accepting PC codes for myself and it would be the response of like, does this run on Steam Deck? Oh God, let me check. And then it became so many games journalists, reviewers were asking this question. So many have standardized it in their breakdown of here's the embargo, here's this, here's if it can run on Steam or not. Like Steam Deck. Great stuff. I like that a lot over here. Super Beard said they owe it all the Switch. This is Vita Erasure. This is a PSP erasure and I won't have it. All right. Vita did all this? No, Game Boy was like, here we'll make boil down garbage games. The Vita was like, hey, you want to bring your Madden? Save both places. Let's go.
Tim Gettys
I'm not even gonna get in into it.
Greg Miller
You were playing no Madden on you goddamn Game Boy.
Tim Gettys
The only thing Vita did right was oled Agreed.
Greg Miller
Well, I know you agree. I agree. They had trophies too. Number five on the rope report the boss voice actor dons the outfit for launch. You see this? So cool. Lori Allen.
Tim Gettys
Fucking badass.
Greg Miller
Oh, shit. I'm sorry I'm gonna read this article, but I didn't cite who I got it from. I apologize. Kevin, if you can Google the first paragraph if possible to try to figure out who wrote this. I Forget if it's GameSpot, IG or somebody else, but I'm stealing somebody's work. I apologize. I think it's GameSpot. This week, Konami released Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, the modern remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid three Snake Eater. To mark the event. Lori Allen, who voiced the boss in Both games has shared a photo of herself in full cosplay as the character she first portrayed in 2004. The original recordings for Alan and the rest of the metal gear solid 3 voice cast were retained. This is Gamespot. It's Blair Marnell. I apologize, Blair. The original recordings for Alan and the rest of the metal gear solid 3 voice cast were retained from Metal Gear Solid Delta, although Naked Snake actor David Hayter recently expressed his desire for a second chance to play the role. Hader was also the original voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear 1, 2 and 4. You know, he's also big boss and peacemaker. Peace Walker. Metal Gear Solid Delta producer Nori Aki Okamura has stated that he hopes franchise creator Hideo Kojima will see how respectful the new game is to the original. Kojima left Konami in 2015 and recently said he will not play Delta. Kojima is also working on his own Metal Gear Solid like game called Physint, which is still in a conceptual phase. We'll get to all the Kojima stuff, but fucking Lori Allen, you goddamn goddess.
Tim Gettys
She's so sick.
Greg Miller
What a fucking badass move. What a way to honor your character, the fandom and fucking crush this. If you are an audio listener, pull the fuck over on Spotify and enable the video just so you can see this because she looks amazing.
Tim Gettys
She's awesome. Very, very fucking cool. I love that this Metal Gear's background Metal Gear. How nice is the last week been? Very in. Well, in some ways.
Greg Miller
But I mean life in general. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tim Gettys
Overall though, I love the amount of chatter I've seen about Metal Gear Solid three three. Just the Cobra. You like so many things. I'm just like, yeah, things are back to where they need to be. There's also the reason I said like kind of good. I've also gotten gamers. The gamers are the gamers. And I know it doesn't matter. It's just funny to me like how much they latch on to specific things. The amount of feedback and tweets and stuff. Anytime we do a quick review, like a YouTube short breakdown of our longer games, cash review discussions, obviously context is lost and whatever, but all people love pinpointing onto something just going crazy. People are really mad at me for being mad that they didn't change too much. They didn't change enough for Metal Gear Solid Delta. And I'm just like, I was literally just saying the fact that it's the same game. That's not negative. It's a positive in fact.
Greg Miller
Sure.
Tim Gettys
Anyway, people are just wild out there. But I love that they didn't change shit. I love the Delta is metal gear solid three and I got to experience that again in 2025 and it was freaking awesome. Overpriced, but awesome.
Greg Miller
I hope and I understand. This is me looking into a breakup, you know what I mean? And that's never. I'm not one of the parties that was, you know, broke up and moved on with their life. But I hope Kojima plays this at some point or at least watches of it. Well, you know, whatever. See, I can only imagine. I can only imagine there's such a spectrum of emotions to see this game coming out and him dealing with it. And I. I don't know where he's at on that spectrum, but they did such a good job with it that I'd love for him to see it and understand. And I hope he sees the praise we're all giving. And I mean us as video game fans.
Tim Gettys
Again, I, even more than what you're saying, do not know the inner workings of that man's mind or how he feels about all this. I personally feel just seeing how all this went. I would be shocked if he hasn't already seen enough or known enough and seen that like, yeah, the respect is all there. Yeah, I feel like it was pretty clear from the previews, even when the thing was first time. Oh yeah. Like they're. It's all about protecting the legacy of this game. And they did.
Greg Miller
They did. Well, Metal Gear's out every. Go play it. We loved it. Check out the review on Gamescast. But more importantly, there's another game coming. Number six. There's a new Terminator 2D. No Fate trailer. I did not watch this. I threw it in the dock. I think I saw. It's only 30 seconds. If you're unfamiliar, this is from Bitmap Bureau. This is the Terminator 2D action game. It looks like it's pulled right from the Sega Genesis. It looks fucking awesome. I think it's already supposed to be out, but it got delayed now till October 31 for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC. Can we see it? With some audio if possible. Kev, Peggy 16. There we go. August 29, 1997. Judgment Day. Yes.
Tim Gettys
Yes.
Greg Miller
Los Angeles, 2029. Yes. That's John Connor, if you didn't know. Show some respect. That's all it was. That's all I need. I can't wait for this game.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, we didn't have a release day, right? This is the.
Greg Miller
No, no, we've had a release date we had a release date, I think for August, and then it got delayed till October 31.
Tim Gettys
Kev, can you go back to the. The end there? Oh, the IGN logo. I thought it said October 1st and I was like, October 31st. I can't wait for this, man. I love it. I can't believe that we're in the golden age. Part 2 of 3D platformers and also 2D platformers. We got Ninja Gaiden, Rage Bound, we got Shinobi, Art of Vengeance, and we're about to get Terminator 2D. No. Fate. Yes.
Greg Miller
I can't wait.
Tim Gettys
Just going, taking a movie and just turning it into a 2D, like super Nintendo style platformer in 2025. Yeah, man, I forget.
Greg Miller
Do they fuck with the story too? It's been so long. I think they fuck with the story. I think you do the original, but then you can do other stuff. Maybe I'm wrong about that. That's too hard for me to jump into right now. But I can't wait for it. I can't fucking wait. Yeah. Lead the resistance to John Connor in the future. Fighting for the front lines. Do this. A unique story blending iconic scenes from Terminator 2 Judgment with original scenarios and multiple endings. Humanity's fate is yours to decide. I can't. I'm gonna play this shit out of this. I can't fucking wait. Tim. Getting Terminator 2D. No, fate is big news.
Tim Gettys
It is big news, but I'm sick.
Greg Miller
Of the big news. If I wanted the smallest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
Tim Gettys
You'd go to the last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items that you need to know about.
Greg Miller
Number seven, the Wii News game developer reports 450 Diablo developers have voted to unionize under CWA. Congratulations to them. Eurogamer reports Steam users in the UK must now verify their age in order to access store pages for games with mature content as required by the Online Safety Act. You have to, you know, link your credit card and then knows how old you are. Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater's first hot fix is out now. And then closing it out. Yuka replay releases October 9, 2025. That's this year.
Tim Gettys
That's awesome. It's a big one, man. We've been waiting for this date for a time. Long, long time. It's been a little weird, I think that we didn't get the date for how much they've talked about this game and shown the game and had people play the game, but very small team, right we, we had them here at GDC talking to us about all this and obviously this is them trying to perfect a project that they put out a long time ago that wasn't the best received at the time. You know, I think there was a lot of excitement and hype for the game, but Yuka Laylee, the original game, kind of whatever at the end of the day, but I, I have a lot more faith in Ukraine Playlee and I was watching GameXplain do a preview of their time with this and they're like, yeah, this fixes everything. So very excited for that. And they also confirmed today that Ukulele original owners will receive a 30 off discount on all platforms for Yuka Replay. So if you're upgrading from any of the systems that you have, no PlayStation, Xbox, you can do that. Which is very cool, specifically because ukulele is $4 right now on the different shops.
Greg Miller
$4?
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
What a steal. You'd be silly not to buy it if you're into that kind of game with the platform rings and the whatnot. You know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I can't wait. Like this is gonna be my first time playing through Ukulele, so I hope that it lives up to expectations now.
Greg Miller
Okay, fair enough. And that's it for we news. Now we move on to kind of funny. No super chats. We got a lot of super chats over here, so that's great. Starting at the very end. Snug says what else would. What else should we do in Mexico, Tim?
Tim Gettys
Dude, there's so much good ass food. There's also this Japan bar, okay. Like that Tokyo music sessions, something like that. That was like the coolest bar I've ever been to in the world. They only have two in the world.
Greg Miller
What was so cool about it?
Tim Gettys
It's. They play live vinyl music. It's all like sick ass, like cool jazz stuff. Very, very, very sleek.
Greg Miller
Fair enough.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
In the super chats we have average Joe on air saying, just wanted to pay my early birthday tax. I turned 26 tomorrow and I believe I've achieved UNK status as they can.
Tim Gettys
Say, I love that for you.
Greg Miller
I don't know what UN status is. You're an honorary, honorary uncle.
Tim Gettys
Or like you when you just hit that point where you're not a dad.
Greg Miller
You'Re not dad age yet, but you're not a kid.
Tim Gettys
A college kid kind of. But no, it's more just like you're old, bro. Like you're no longer at the kids table.
Greg Miller
Got it?
Tim Gettys
You're an unk.
Greg Miller
Eco Nick. Oh, Econ Iconic. But it's okay. Whatever. Late birthday tax from yesterday. Heart Greg. Oh, no. Heart Greg. Is there a way to buy another copy of your children's book? My best friends are having a baby and I want to gift them your book. No, we printed what we printed and we sold what we sold. I don't now that they're. I mean, Joey might have a few in the warehouse that'll eventually go up, but I don't think unlikely. Yeah, but I would imagine one day we'll reprint it. Will that kid be having a kid at that time? Maybe.
Tim Gettys
Maybe.
Greg Miller
And if any of you, you know, want to publish a children's book, let me know. Kebabs writes in it, says how much of the TM show will be in the next. Oh, Twisted Metal show will be in the next game. Do you think that the Twisted Metal.
Tim Gettys
Well, that's the thing is like, I truly at this point think it's unlikely we get a Twisted Metal game. It sounds like there was one in development that got canned. I do imagine if we do get one in the future, they're entirely going to take the show as the premise. There's so much great stuff in the show that just didn't exist in the games before. And yeah, I feel like easily could be adapted to a game.
Greg Miller
Okay. El captain 22 says. Tim, is twisted metal season two better than season one?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I think overall it is. I think that season one probably.
Greg Miller
It.
Tim Gettys
Has that like it was first thing and like it fleshes out the world in. In such an interesting way. Whereas like two just delivers kind of the promise of what you expect from Twisted Metal. So because of that, it's like, yeah, they did the thing and they did it well. So I do think season two is better. But like I was saying earlier and season one ended and I'm like, I need season two now. Season two ended and I'm like, I really hope that season three happens.
Greg Miller
Cool. DJ Kento super chats and says started reading Robert Kirkman's Transformers run because of Tim. His comic Void Rivals is his personal Star wars with Hasbro slash Transformer cameos popping up. A super fun read, Tim. Thanks.
Tim Gettys
I keep starting and then getting caught up in other things in life. And then when I go back I'm like, I need to start again. So I just, I've started freaking Void Rival or the. I've read the first couple Void Rivals so many damn times. But yeah, I'm right there with you, Kento. Awesome stuff. And now that Robert's Taking Transformers on like, holy. Yeah, I gotta commit to this because that's insane.
Greg Miller
That's insane.
Tim Gettys
What a great killer dude.
Greg Miller
Neo AO she says, hey, kind of funny. Longtime listener Beyond Beyond. I don't usually do this, but tomorrow I'm raising money for the World Central Kitchen playing Metal Gear Solid one through Metal Gear Solid Delta. I have so many prizes to give away. Everybody support a long time kind of funny best friend. Neo Aoshi. That's Twitch tv. Neo Aoshi. N E O A O S H I.
Tim Gettys
Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
Scrub Super Chats and Sundays, I'm a 50 year old and I've never played Pokemon. Should I wait for Za or try Scarlet? P.S. i have a switch too.
Tim Gettys
Oh man, you're in a bad spot. I think personally.
Greg Miller
I mean, I would say jump in with Scarlett right now. I like Scarlet so much and I think it is the, the battling and the collecting and the, you know, all these different systems and stuff that Za seems like a lot of fun. But that's going to be a different ball of wax for Pokemon.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna be real sperbs. I'd wait till 51 and we're gonna roll the dice here and wait and hope the gen 10 is. Is what I need it to be. A lot of hopes there.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But I don't know that Scarlet as your first is the right move as a 50 year old that's never played Pokemon.
Greg Miller
Okay.
Tim Gettys
And I don't think it's gonna be Za.
Greg Miller
Fair enough. John Van Pelt says, quote, not a chance in fuck. End quote. I'm stealing that. Thanks, Tim.
Tim Gettys
You can have it.
Greg Miller
A quote from you. He's taking it from you. Ghostly Icon Super Chats. It says, Tim, is it weird to get a signature from the OG cast of the TMNT movie to sign my last Ronin comic, then the next day have Kevin Eastman sign my comic? No, no, not at all. That's totally normal. And they signed way weirder shit than that, I guarantee you.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I think that's cool. No beef there with the people you're talking about.
Greg Miller
Norman calls out in the Super Chat there's been speculation that the new PlayStation 5 low power mode is aimed at letting devs get ready for the handheld. Digital Foundry mentioned it recently. Yes, we talked about that on Games Daily. We did not reference it in this episode, but you are correct, that is something that's been kicked around. Lizzie Super Chats. It says birthday tax. Let Tim review Pokemon Z A Greg sucks.
Tim Gettys
Thank you, Lizzie.
Greg Miller
Well, Lizzie used absolutely no punctuation in that Not a period, not a comma. So really sucks. Lizzie.
Tim Gettys
You're fucking English teacher themselves.
Greg Miller
And the final super chat comes from Gary. The third update on the top 100 games of all time. Also Greg, check out Haley Williams is solo stuff. I think you may dig it. Oh, I love Haley Williams.
Tim Gettys
We're working on getting to a place to give an update. A lot of work has went into top hundred. We're trying to lock a bunch of things in and we just. There's certain things that we just can't announce yet because we don't have the answers. But we're waiting to hear back about some things and I'm very excited. It's going to be awesome and it's. It's going to live up to expectations.
Greg Miller
Tim, as always, is more diplomatic than Greg Miller. You want to know the problem, Barrett.
Tim Gettys
Courtney just because he's the only one in the room right now.
Greg Miller
No, no, because Barrett rhymes with Jared. We asked people watching live on Twitch TV kind of funny games and YouTube.com kind of funny games to go to kindafunny.com you're wrong. And tell us what we screwed up as we screwed up. We only have one in here. Jeppo 1457 says Greg, please play Tales of Xillia. Which immediately doesn't sound like my kind of game. But I put a trailer in here and I did Google why we're talking about this bando name. Bandai Namco has Tales of Zillia Remastered, which they do list as an action rpg, which does okay. And it's got good. Kevin, can we watch this trailer with sound? Would that be cool?
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Where'd you put the trailer? I put it in your. You're wrong. It's highlighted yellow. I added in way late. Sorry. Oh, can you just drop in an assets? Sure I can. I'm on a copy that Mike Curzer.
Tim Gettys
Says the super chat should check out Sword and Shield. And honestly I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say this right now. I think Sperbs you should play Sword and Shield.
Greg Miller
I started a really great art style.
Tim Gettys
And just understand that there's gonna be the big open areas that are empty as shit and the trees look like garbage.
Greg Miller
Hold on. Keep. Pause this cat while I finish.
Tim Gettys
Don't worry about those like that exists. We've moved on. Not a flawless game by any means. But if it's your first Pokemon experience and you don't have the baggage of caring about not the Pokedex being complete or all that stuff like that, all the problems that Sword And Shield had great story wraps in the sports aesthetic. Awesome environment, great visual style. Sword and Shield it is.
Greg Miller
Okay, fair enough. Now let's look at Tales of Zilia Remastered. Do you know anything about this? Why is it. Why are you recommending it? Why do I need to play it? Is it just because I like action RPGs? And this is either. You know, usually the. You know, the fantasy thing is around the.
Tim Gettys
They've been recommending it to literally every host, so I feel like they're pr.
Greg Miller
But you do know Bane Dynamico in the chat. Greg? Tim? Anybody? The next Tales of Remastered is. Well, we know it's Zillia. We clicked on the link. This is not a Greg gamesis cj. Danny says. I imagine you're going more into Tales of Vesperia than a Zillion. Yes, I am. PR says Jeo. It worked. Why do humans persist in seeking power that could destroy the world? Great question. What are you. Yeah. No, I'm not playing this. You can turn it off.
Tim Gettys
Thanks.
Greg Miller
You can turn it off. I'm not playing this. We're not worried about that. You barked up the wrong tree. Bandai. Get out of here. Okay. Oh, and then Combo says, skip Zillia. Play the Adventures of Elliot demo instead. Come on, you. I was live on air when I downloaded that. Don't worry about that. His outfit sucks. But what a game we're looking forward to.
Tim Gettys
I really appreciate that. That people like different things, you know?
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, of course. Of course. I'm glad that video games are so diverse. Ladies, gentlemen, Enbies. That's another episode of Kinda Funny Games Daily in the books, remember? Of course. Each and every weekday we're here to run you through the nerdy video game news need to know about to start our live programming day on Kinda Funny. Things aren't ending here for us, of course. You're about to get the gamescast where we run through every game coming out in September to talk about our anticipation levels. And after that, of course, we will be live reacting in a sponsored stream to the Borderlands 4 packs panel to see what they've got up their sleeve. That starts at 12:45. If we end Gamescast on time, which I think we will. Important programming note I probably should have put at the top of the show if you aren't here in the United States, Congratulations. I'm jealous. But also remember, Monday is Labor Day. There'll be no work for us. So you will not be getting any of our shows on Monday. Instead, we urge you to go back and watch the Mario Party stream. That was cool. Go watch the Walkathon death stranding thing they edited together into 16 hours or whatever was plenty of content to see.
Tim Gettys
Watch Barrett's Naughty Dog video. Yeah, that's really good.
Greg Miller
Yeah, don't watch aew. Don't watch Jeff Jarrett.
Tim Gettys
Don't.
Greg Miller
No, don't, don't.
Tim Gettys
Joe, though, watch Jeff Jarrett do it.
Greg Miller
Why? He's great. But why?
Tim Gettys
Because Jarrett rhymes with Barrett.
Greg Miller
It's like the worst bit. Joey make a shirt sucked.
Tim Gettys
Everybody came in with the chair.
Greg Miller
We'll be back in a second with gamescast, but if you're listening, watching later, like, subscribe. Share by the membership Take care of us. Make sure we keep the lights and mics on. And until next time, no, it's been our pleasure to serve you.
