What a day to be alive. Bless. Very excited. I'm excited for this game's daily, but I'm even more excited for the games cast after. Oh yeah, because we're doing another shit list episode and this is every once in a while a list will come along the gaming world and they'll just start tweet. The, the people out there will start tweeting at us like guys, don't look at this list. You need to do a shit list on it. And this might be the most requested one that we've ever gotten.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I can't wait for this because the do you want to see the topic of it?
Tim Gettys
The most influential games of all time and people are in a tizzy about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Which I'm excited for because for lists like this, it's almost like we get to do a two parter games cast in one where the first half of the show we get to just talk about like what do we think are the most influential games of all time? Which ends up just being a great conversation period. But then yeah, the second half of it gets to be a reaction and I was talking it's all the good kind of funny content match in one thing.
Tim Gettys
Exactly. Analysis and reaction and reacting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And so I'm very excited for that. I'm also excited for this episode of Kind of Fun and Games Daily. I let me tell you, chaotic morning this morning. Yeah, I, I fucked up last night too. I told, I told Kevin this because I need now I need Kevin's help. I last night, apparently not even, apparently literally I left my keys in my ignition and so this morning I wake up at 6:30 to go to the gym and I look at, I'm like where are my keys at? Where are the keys? I'll go to my car. Keys in there.
Tim Gettys
Oh no.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Try to turn my car nothing. Battery dead. Which immediately I had to text. I text Kevin. I'm like, like yo, do have any availability to help me jumpstart my car? Because I fucked up. But because of that, right? I get into work a little bit late, I start prepping KG from home and this whole thing. But I missed out on the Triple I initiative. I would have missed out anyway because I prep KG during that time. But I put out a Blue sky post this morning that I'm excited about because Kevin, if you can bring this up, I have this set for story number five of just like Reacting to III Initiative Trailers. If you don't know it's a game showcase showing off a lot of cool indie games and I figure I'll put it to the audience cool like that. Give us the coolest trailers from the Triple I initiative. Great, that's your task. Go to my Blue sky post, respond to it, give me like a YouTube link and a store page link so I can read off what the description is on Steam and then we can like see the trailer as we're doing that.
Tim Gettys
Love that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I'm excited for that. I'm also excited to talk about video game news because remember this is kind of Funny Games Daily. I heard Roger talking about it as somebody who's editing the project and Barrett talking about it as somebody who's helped running the show, help directing the show. And the more I hear them talk about it, the more I'm like, oh, I gotta check this out.
Tim Gettys
Oh, yeah, it's gonna be good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's gonna be good. It brings me back to like when we, when the X cast got to interview Phil Spencer. Right. Or like the more journalistic leaning pieces of content that kind of funny only gets to make once in a blue moon. And so I'm very excited to check that out because that sounds really cool.
Tim Gettys
Tomorrow it begins.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Remember, we're an 11 person business all about live talk shows. So today after kfcd, you're gonna get gamescast, which is me and Tim talking about the most influential games of all time. Then the stream is gonna be Mike playing blueprints, asterisk. Because I sent a thing to Mike. Cause I got an email this morning about a preview opportunity, slash beta for an upcoming game that would be very exciting if I can get confirmation that we can stream it.
Tim Gettys
Ooh, I don't know.
Kevin Coelho
Blast.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know yet if we can stream it, but if we can, we're pivoting. I love that because it's, oh, this.
Kevin Coelho
Is my only chance to play blueprint.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you'll get more chances. This is like this, this thing is only happening for like a small window and it's something that like, you're gonna want to see us play.
Tim Gettys
Oh, okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Tim, I'll tell you during the ad because you're gonna be excited for this as well. If you're a kind of funny member, you can get today's Greg Way from Mike. Thank you to our Patreon producers. Anatoly asked Delaney Twining, Carl Jacobs and Omega Buster today. Brought to you by BetterHelp. But we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have six stories today. What's funny?
Tim Gettys
That's okay. We're getting like an insane amount of more. I don't know if there's a way to fix that. If not, don't worry about it. Letting you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He's. He's shaking his head. No, he's shaking his head like he does. He doesn't know.
Tim Gettys
All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I thought I saw him leave the room. I think he might have came back real quick because the thing I saw him leave the room. So as I was transitioning into the report, I was like waiting to see where's he at. Yeah, where's he at? He was there the whole time. He was there. He was there the whole time. Tim let's start off with story number one. Reggie F seemingly weighs in on Switch 2 welcome tour debate by highlighting the success of of Wii Sports this is from Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. Former Nintendo of America President Reggie F has seemingly subtly commented on Nintendo's decision not to include welcome Tour as a free pack in with Nintendo Switch 2. Welcome Tour breaks down the Switch 2's features, explaining or explains to the player how everything works, and demonstrates this through a series of mini games. When the game was first debuted during the Switch 2 Direct, many fans expected the game to be packed in with the system, but it was quickly clarified that the game would be a paid experience. Nintendo has defended the decision, with Nintendo's Bill Trenin saying that the $9.99 cost quote is not an exorbitant price end quote in his eyes, and that it's a pretty robust piece of software with a lot of great detail in there. But Fiz, who's president and COO of Nintendo of America during the height of its success with the Nintendo Wii, has seemingly made a sly comment on the decision, referencing referencing his push to pack in Wii Sports with the Wii, F posted several clips to Twitter from an IGN podcast he appeared on only two years ago, during which he discussed the internal fight at Nintendo over whether or not to include Wii Sports with the Nintendo Wii. Quote it's an understatement to say that Mr. Miyamoto pushed back, F said at the time he continues during the development of Wii and Wii Sports, the goal was we wanted the system to be attractive to not only the most active players, but to new players. We saw Wii Sports as the way to be able to do that, end quote. He went on to explain in another clip from the same podcast that the game was only packed in with the Wii in certain regions, which he argues led to the console being more successful in those regions than its native Japan. Nintendo Switch 2 welcome to a will release on June 5th, the same day as Switch Switch 2.
Tim Gettys
It's funny because we've obviously talked about this a lot in the last week since the Nintendo Switch was officially revealed Switch 2, and I feel like we've brought up this talking point about welcome Tour a couple times, talking about how in Reggie's book he said how hard he pushed for Wii Sports and how good of a decision it was. And you know, it sucks that it seems like they're, they're not continuing that kind of understanding of a great way to sell, not just sell consoles, but also for the type of software that it is a very clear introduction to the system and its capabilities. So it's fun to hear Reggie be able to kind of just parrot his own words back now and kind of be aligned with how we've been even talking about it. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Yeah. This is one that I think is a fun thing to talk about just from the sense of I, I feel like when executives leave roles that they were fairly successful in or at least have the reputation of like, oh, you were a good thing and you were doing a good thing in this role. Somebody like Reggie Fees may who I think pretty much universally I'd say is, is revered as somebody who was like a good executive at Nintendo.
Tim Gettys
I would say so I don't think.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've heard much bad about.
Tim Gettys
I mean it's like yeah, he, he over as ku. He oversaw a couple of the, you know, down eras of Nintendo.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sure.
Tim Gettys
But like you area, I still feel like that's, that's not on one man's shoulders.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. But I always, I always find it, find it fascinating and like I always like it when executives will leave and then like we'll say something where it's almost like a parent that's like a little bit disappointed in their child of like I taught you better. You know what I mean? I feel like I see Shawn Layton do that a lot of like, just like sly comments of oh yeah, when I was there, we did it this way. But you know, there are different PlayStations. You know, they're doing different things.
Tim Gettys
Obviously there is that hindsight and there is the, hey, it's not actually your responsibility anymore. So it's easier to just kind of be like, well, back in my day.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, exactly.
Tim Gettys
You did it this way and it worked this way. Why wouldn't you do that again? But I do think that to what exactly we're talking about here, specifically the welcome tour for the switch to being $10. It's, it's a, it's one of those weird ones where, you know, Bill Trenin who is at Nintendo is defending it, saying that it's not an exorbitant price and that it's a robust piece of software that is worth the $10 that can be true simultaneously with the fact that despite it being worth it, this should be a packing. And I feel like, we all get that, you know, like, this is the type of game that, like, is seemingly designed to be a pack. And so it does kind of just, I think, read very, you know, and tone up in a way that, like, it just was a very unforced error that occurred here. And I feel like with the way that the, the information rollout from Nintendo's happened over the last week, it's just another negative talking point, I think, like, another thing for us to kind of look at and go, what?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why? Yeah, I think I. I wish it was called something else other than welcome Tour, because I think the framing of it being the. This is the tech demo to teach you how to play. This is the manual for the console. I think it's such a. I don't want to say it's a disservice to what it is because that, from my impression, that is what it is. That's how they presented it. That's how. That's how the trailer showed it off.
Tim Gettys
Even the cool parts, that's what it looks like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Even the cool parts, that's what it looks like. If that's what. If that's what it is, then 1000% it should be a pack in, right? And there's a conversation to be had there. I almost wonder if they called it Switch Play. Kind of like we play, right? And like, framed it more of a. As a. No, this is an actual game. Like, this is an actual, like, experience that you might come back to do all that shit, right? Still would be grubby from the sense of we all have eyes or like most of us have eyes, right? That can see. Oh, no, this is. I know what this is. Right? Like, this is a tech demo. This is to introduce, Introduce us to the system. The whole framing of it just feels off, almost as if it was supposed to be free. And then at the last second, they're like, oh, actually we need more money out of these, out of this thing.
Tim Gettys
Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, it. It is weird. A question that I'll throw to you, Tim. Is this overblown? I think this is one of those ones. I think we can all agree that this is wrong. Are we too angry at this?
Tim Gettys
I mean, that. That goes back to what I was saying of just like two things can be true of it's worth $10, but also it should be free. It's just like, there's that. And I do think that you can apply that logic to a lot of what's happened in the last week. I do think to your question of is it Overblown Again, I think two answers can apply. Yes and no. And I think it's the everything adding up. It's that chip damage where. Let me start here. I think Nintendo did a very bad job communicating a lot of things about the Switch to the fact that the price wasn't even in the direct. Clearly I think is evidence to the way that they were trying to own the messaging. The maybe a little too much like maybe just a. A bit too there. They didn't want to get in the weeds. But then they did get in the weeds about a lot of other things. And I feel like with the direct we got and the information we got directly after and obviously the tariffs and so many other things are at play. There's a lot of questions people had that Nintendo didn't answer even though they could have. And it now starts to look like. Well, it's because they don't. They know that the audience isn't going to like the answers. Do the Joy Cons have Hall effect sticks? No, they don't. We didn't know that until almost a week later. Right. I think those little things add up. Are the full games on the cartridges, our games, $90. There was so much misinformation because there wasn't clear information and I think that that was Nintendo's biggest mistake. And then not being able to have like some type of FAQ page that has up to date accurate information to remedy the negative YouTube headlines. There's the other side of it. Of people are going to be upset about every little thing and blow it out of proportion in a way of how big of a deal it actually is in terms of how many people it affects. When you look at the controversy around Switch, two editions of games of. Are they just the Switch game? Are they. Is it a download to get the new expansion pack, all that stuff. So much of that is speaking to a. I'm sorry, niche audience. When we're talking about these physical game collectors. I also understand those physical game collectors, myself included, are going to be angry and going to be very vocal about it. Rightfully so. Because we see the writing on the wall that the death of what we love is looming. So Nintendo kind of hiding or just kind of being a little bit weird about the facts of all that stuff.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
While I completely understand it from a business perspective, they're like majority of people don't care about this. Like why would we lead with any news that's bad at all when we could just not bring up something that is going to be something that by Far the majority of Switch purchasers are never even going to consider or think about or if they do, they're going to be like, fuck, the game doesn't even come with this. I need to download it. That sucks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And then they're just going to download it. I think there's on with their lives.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's also the marketing thing that I think is still grubby. Right Of. But. But I think is the reality. And PlayStation, I think does this too, where you leave out the news that you know is bad because the VOD is going to stick on your channel forever.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That VOD is. You want that to be the most viewed thing. You want people to come back and rewatch that Nintendo Switch to direct in the same way that you want people to come back and rewatch the state of play for the trailers, for the excitement, for the hype. And then you can give the details out on a PlayStation blog later and then like put in the bad details there.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And for Nintendo, it's over the course of a week or two weeks or maybe three, maybe two months. We'll see how long we keep getting news tidbits of like, oh man, the Switch robs my house after I play it for 50 hours. That's fucked up. It shouldn't do that kind of thing, right?
Tim Gettys
Still playing Mario Kart, nothing's going to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Stop from playing Mario Kart.
Tim Gettys
That's where it's at is I, I just think that these are all very valuable, solid concerns. It's just to the level they're being talked about and scrutinized. I think now is the era of content social media that we're in where they're. Everyone has a voice. And I think that that allows people to really get upset about things that only affect a small group of people. But now a large group of people can use their voice to fight for those people. And it's like, hey, sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. I just think that Nintendo is dealing with maybe like 15 of those at once right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And that's their fault.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And that's the thing is, you know, there's a chat from way earlier that was this not overblown. It's emblematic of a larger issue, which kind of is what you were getting at before of when these things compound of these smaller things that people are mad at. Then it turns into a bigger thing when it isn't just, oh, I had to pay $10 for welcome tour, like for a while there, right. Just knowing I had to pay A price for welcome Tour. Not Even just the $10 is the fact that not even knowing I had to pay a price for this. Oh, Mario Kart's going to be $80. Oh, the switch is going to be four. Like, things start to compound in a way where then every little thing feels a bit more. A bit more anger inducing as far as what the actual detail of it is. The other thing I want to bring, bring up that I saw in chat after saying, like, oh, there are certain things to leave out because it's bad news. There's somebody in chat that was like, like, Switch on. Like, do people do the. I think this might have been off. You actually. Do people not want to know the price? And to my point of. You leave certain things out.
Tim Gettys
Right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like that. Is that price gonna stick? Like, does I have the conspiracy theories in my head as far as did Nintendo expect the. The like to pull the pre orders anyway once the tariffs hit or did they expect to have to make that adjustment for the tariffs? Like, like, I think those conversations happen as far as how you announce, how you roll with the announcements and certain information that, you know might not stick because of just world issues. And so I wouldn't be surprised if they were like, hey, let's not announce the price just in case we. Or during the direct. Just, just in case we need to shift it. And then we don't have a video that is just looming of a false price.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That we want to have.
Tim Gettys
Funny though, because I just feel like then the irony of that is that they might not have done that, but they're. They're put up videos with information that people are picking apart or images or whatever for every other little thing. It's just like, it's creating this like cyclone of chaos when it comes to the information about the Switch. And again, I think this goes back to even earlier this week, the GameCube controller conversation of the. On the website it says like, not only compatible with Nintendo switch Online, Switch 2 GameCube games, which implies it's not compatible with Switch or Switch 2 games like Smash ultimate or things like that doesn't function just as a pro controller. And obviously that doesn't sound good. And that's straight from Nintendo. But then everyone else is like, oh, well, they said the exact same thing about some other controllers and those work with other things. So it's like it is this weird thing of even if Nintendo does come out and does explicitly say a thing, that thing gets picked apart.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And I don't know that there's Winning. I think that's the problem. It's just like when all the information, every single thing is cared about by this community so much, every aspect about the Nintendo Switch 2 people care about. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And that is where I think it kind of turns into the chip damage thing of like, sure, you might not care about the GameCube controller, but, but I do. But you might care more about the having to download the games, the update packs or expansion packs or whatever, or xyz. And then I do feel like there's just this kind of communal coming together on top of all the console war nonsense of people that are got like, this last week has been one of those fun ones for me, I'll say, because I haven't seen too much actual negative vitriol. That's nasty. It's more stupidity. And it's more so fun to laugh at these people that like, people that are like, really, really, really rocking for the Steam deck over the Nintendo Switch too. Like, anytime someone's like, being positive about the Switch, they're like, just buy a fucking Steam deck, you fucking pussies. Maybe they're not that extreme, but I'm just like, can we not enjoy both.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Of these things now? Is this on Twitter? Because I feel, because Twitter, like, there's a, there's a level of like, I forget what they call it, but like baiting, like, no, like, like baiting people's anger. Twitter, where I'll read a thing and I'm like, oh, you almost got me. You almost got me because you told, you said some. Now I'm realizing you're saying it to get the clicks kind of thing.
Tim Gettys
I, I, I mean, I'm sure some.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Of that rage bait. Thank you, Chad.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I'm sure some of that's the, the case, but I, I think, I think this is actually a problem with people's minds.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Like I, I do, I think that it's, it is the, the tribalism in the weird way where again, it goes back to community. People just want to be part of something and some people want to be part of something that's better than the other people's thing. Yeah, it's weird.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Leave Nintendo out of it. Nintendo, such a different company than PlayStation and Xbox and like all three, PlayStation, Xbox and PlayStation have never been more different than ever before.
Tim Gettys
That's been true since the beginning of this generation and it's only compounded and gotten more and more true. And I would say it's very, especially nowadays, like, you got to add PC to That conversation, right? Like, you got to add, especially with the Steam Deck and stuff, which you still got to really put into reference of like the Steam Deck has not sold a bazillion units. Like, people act like it's the biggest success in the world. It's like, it's simply not. We are just. It just is a very big deal in our world. But guess what?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We're in our world, let me tell you.
Tim Gettys
We're able to compare things to talk about it might.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It might not be as. As big of a success as the Switch in terms of a worldwide seller. That thing is a success. Is a success in my household. The way the Steam Deck this year so far, the Steam Deck I think is the number one platform just for me and my gaming. I. The way that I'm looking at even AAA games now, we're AAA games usually all lean more toward PlayStation because like that's. I like the trophies and also like that's just where I'm used to playing the most. And also it's kind of just ease of access, ease of use. I got the edge, all that shit. There's some AAA games I'm looking at nowadays where I'm like, give me the Steam Deck. Actually give me the story. Give me the Steam version.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because then I can play on my ultra wide at home and then I can play on my Steam Deck if it's compatible and all this shit. I love that thing.
Tim Gettys
Good life.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You. Y'all should buy a Steam Deck. You know what, man?
Tim Gettys
Change. Change the metrics.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Look at your switch. Find your switch in your home. Specifically an OLED if you got one. Just frisbee it out the window, go online, go to steam.com and buy a Steam Deck. Yeah.
Kevin Coelho
Tell them throw your Xbox.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I didn't say about that Xbox. No, I'm saying the Switch one. Switch one. All right, we'll get the smoke. I do have one super chat I want to bring in. This is kind of. This is the thing I'm going to redirect to Kevin because Yang fan writes in and says, buy a portable jump starter. Kevin, what you know about these portable jump starters?
Kevin Coelho
I mean, are you down to spend 80 to $120?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. Yeah, so that's because like this only this is the first time I need to jumpstart this car in like eight years.
Kevin Coelho
I think it's a really good idea to own one for like travel? No, just for the crazy people like me, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That makes sense.
Kevin Coelho
It's a giant battery that you can use and sometimes you hook it up to a car that sounds like that's right for me.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you, KEV.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Story number two, Switch 2 Edition titles contain both the game and upgrade on the cart. Nintendo clarifies until tomorrow. Speaking about clarifications. Right, this is Chris Golian at Video Games Chronicle. Nintendo has clarified the situation regarding physical switch 2 edition cartridges. Confusion arose last week when a Nintendo customer Service representative told one user that Switch 2 Edition games would include the base Switch 1 game as well as the upgrade in the form of a download code. Nintendo has now stated that this is not the case and that Switch to Edition games will contain both the game and the upgrade on the cartridge itself. In a statement to Vux, Nintendo spokesperson said, quote, Physical versions of Switch 2 Edition games will include the original Switch game and its upgrade pack all on the same card. I. E. They're exclusively Switch 2 game cards with no download code. Alternatively, some publishers may release Nintendo Switch to Edition games as download codes in a physical pack in physical packaging with no game card. End quote.
Tim Gettys
I mean, dude, real talk, I'll believe it when I see it. And it's in my Switch and three years from now it still is. You know what I mean? Like, I, I. All of this stuff I think is just a legit word salad. Yeah, like there. I think that every. We're going to see this for the rest of time. Bless. Because anytime we're in a crossing over of generations where there is as much synergy between the two. We saw it with PS4 to PS5, we're seeing it now. Switch one to switch to. There's going to be things that are weird and all of us are going to be like, what about this and what about that? And this thing works this way there. How is it going to work on this?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you remember the amount of times we would talk about Martin, what is smart delivery?
Tim Gettys
And then at the end of the day, they were the winners.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And it worked. And honestly, shout out to Xbox. Smart delivery fucking rocks.
Tim Gettys
It fucking rocks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like it worked the way they talked about. They're just like, hey, this is going to work. And guess what? Yeah, it just worked.
Tim Gettys
And then it didn't work for PlayStation as well. And then it was like, all right, you know what? It's over now and it doesn't matter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. That's the thing is like a few years into the generation, it's like, okay, yeah, there's not. How many times am I transferring My Spider Man 1 Save to the remastered version and having to figure out we.
Tim Gettys
Got a couple more of those in us. That and last of us some. Somehow they'll find new ways to get us to happen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No. Unless they like. Is there. Unless there's like a cross save situation, cross PC.
Tim Gettys
I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Then I can see it. But yeah.
Tim Gettys
But yeah. This. This is one of those things where I think that there's obviously going to be a lot of like, how are they going to handle this? What's going to happen? And then once The Switch to Switch 1 games that are going to get enhanced ports, like again, that's another. We should do a gamescast all about that of just looking at the Switch 1 games and just being like, what's going to happen in there, dude? Now that we know how switch to enhanced games or whatever work, you know?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm telling you, man. Smash ultimate plus Subspace Emissary.
Tim Gettys
The fact that you. That is what you push.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gettys
I think the fact that we're getting Kirby's air ride riders means that that's not gonna happen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wait, really?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, because I feel like that like the Subspace Emissary, to me, that's like sacrileg going off cooking on some crazy shit. Well, we're just letting him do whatever he wants to do. And he wanted to do Subspace Emissary.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You don't think he wants to do another one?
Tim Gettys
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You can make a cool story with all these characters.
Tim Gettys
He's the one that was always just like, hey, like it sucked because people just watch the videos on YouTub. That was it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But I think that's a sign of where you take the next Subspace Emissary. Get rid of this 2D platformer.
Tim Gettys
It's called Smash Run.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just give me. No, just give me Cut. But I want cut scenes.
Tim Gettys
Oh, you just. You just want a movie. You just want to smash.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I want a movie. But then put fights in between the movies. Yes, yes. I like Tekken or Mortal Kombat.
Tim Gettys
Okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Tim Gettys
So more like the adventure mode in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Melee a bit with cutscenes.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right. Like I want a store. I want a full fledged story. I want Ness be hanging. Hanging out with joker from Persona 5. Not the DC Joker. Yeah. And like put Jigglypuff in there too. And just have them be best buddies. But then there's like another group that's doing another thing. And it's Greninja and Wendy Oka. Exactly. Bless.
Kevin Coelho
You sound so nerdy right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just so you know, Wendy. A Koopa. The Koopa Kids.
Tim Gettys
The Koopa kids, yes. Bless. Show Some respect.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wait, how long have the Koopa kids been in Smash Ultimate?
Tim Gettys
Since Wii.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Uh, why don't I recall this?
Tim Gettys
We were like. It's like, hey, Smash Brothers is eight players now. You can play as Bowser junior And.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, they're the all costumes for Bowser junior.
Tim Gettys
Yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I forgot this.
Tim Gettys
Yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay.
Tim Gettys
Yes.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because I never. Who's picking Bowser Jr.
Tim Gettys
I'm picking Wendy. Oka. My girl.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know anybody who's using Bowser Jr. In Smash. Grow up. You need to use Ike.
Tim Gettys
You're gonna learn today like an adult. Oh, man. I'm an Ike boy too. There they are. Look at them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I don't think I know anybody who's using the alt costumes for. Well, for. I use Wendy Bowser Jr.
Tim Gettys
I specifically only use Wendy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
How often do we play? Never played.
Tim Gettys
Not enough.
Kevin Coelho
It's so sad. You know, I tried really hard to put it on the living room TV and have it there always.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm with. I like this idea.
Tim Gettys
Can you imagine if Nintendo puts out these GameCube controllers? They don't work with Smash Ultimate.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's not gonna happen. Nintendo's weird. They're not that weird. They're not that weird.
Kevin Coelho
It really could have.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
One of the biggest upsets of me being hired by kind of funny is that we played Smash way less than I imagined this company would play. I thought we'd be playing Smash all the time. Yeah, that was really upsetting.
Kevin Coelho
We used to play it a lot.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I get the global pandemic happened, which I'm sure messed that up. It's sad we never got back to it. I wish.
Kevin Coelho
I wish you had seen Nick in his prime because he wasn't great. He was just great at breaking Tim. And it's like Tim would go from playing like being undefeatable to like everyone was clowning him out because the morale was broken.
Tim Gettys
He breaks my morale. Getting back to the story though, I feel like there's going to be a wave or two more of these Switch Enhanced. Switch. Two Enhanced games. Smash Brothers, Metroid Dread. I'm trying to think of even games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But like when you say Switch to Enhanced, are you thinking just base remaster or are you thinking plus like more content or just saying in general?
Tim Gettys
I mean, again, I think that we should do a full deep dive Gamescast because, like, there's we. I want to do actual research into this, but from my understanding, there's the what five or so that they announced at the direct. The Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Party, Kirby The Forgotten Land.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I mean technically Metroid Prime 4.
Tim Gettys
Oh yeah, I guess you're right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Metroid Prime 4, that's a good example. So there's those. Then there was that big ass list of just like. And a lot of games are just going to get boosted FPS and resolution and all that stuff. That was a very, very long list.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
But it wasn't exhaustive of the Switch library. I think that we can look at what games are not on either of those lists. Things like Smash Brothers and I'm pretty sure Metroid Dread and, and a handful of others. And it's like, oh, okay, those are. Animal Crossing was there too or was not there. Those are the games that are probably going to get expansion passes, like bigger upgrades, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, interesting. Yeah, I could see it. That is a whole games cast because I, I, out of all those. I agree. But I'm might have an argument against Animal Crossing because if you do like a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Animal Crossing, then like are you, are you going to do that and then also have another original Switch iteration? I mean, because I think you want to have that.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, that's the thing is. I don't know. I don't, I don't necessarily think so either. I'm just saying like it's weird that there's only a handful of games that aren't on either list and Animal Crossings one. So it's like, why isn't that just the fact that Animal Crossing isn't either. A, one of their flagship. Hey, this is why you should Upgrade to switch 2. There's more new Horizons content at launch. Or B A, we're not going to do that. So it runs better on Switch too. Like the fact that it's in the middle. I'm like, I think that that'll be a big Wave two announcement that will come with some substantial thing. Even if it is just like mouse support to like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that's. I think, I think we never hear from Animal Crossing New Horizons again. I think they're cooking the next thing and I don't, I think they don't want New Horizons to get in the way of how much the next thing's going to sell.
Tim Gettys
But they, they're going to want people to want to play New Horizons on the Switch too without bitching about it. So I feel like, I think so. I feel like at the very least then just, just put out, just put it on the list of the hundred other games that literally just. It plays better and that's all that they need to Say, don't even get specific.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I think there's anything Nintendo cares about the least. It's people bitching.
Tim Gettys
I mean, that's true. That is true.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We got some super chats coming in. One from inner jet stream who writes in and says, love how positive you both stayed during the madness of the Switch too. Had to put my listening of Kitten Krista on hold due to the negativity. Fill in their pot. Hey, you don't talk shit about Kitten Krista.
Tim Gettys
They were in there, man. They know. They know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And that's the thing is like you're talking about experts. I've been meaning to actually listen to their coverage of Switch too.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But they say thanks for helping my package delivery filled day flyby. You're welcome for that. Thank you so much for the super chat.
Tim Gettys
Hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yang fan writes in and says there are more affordable ones. Get the multifunction one that jump starts. Tire inflator, portable battery. Throw it into the back of your car. See, that's what I'm talking about, dude. That's what I want.
Tim Gettys
I just got a portable inflator in my car and like, God, I feel like the coolest person on earth.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
At any moment like I.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did you get it off TikTok?
Tim Gettys
No, I didn't. I got it because I was like, I. I need. I need this because my. My car used to have a real big problem with air pressure in the tires where I would have to like refill the air constantly. Like no matter what was happening, I'd buy new tires. It still happens. And I would hate having to go to the gas station, touch some nasty ass, oily ass things, go talk to the guys. I always put the quarter. You know what I mean? It was always like way more of a scene than I wanted it to be.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
And I was like, there has to be a better way. Wow. Ten in one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ten and one is crazy.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. This is not what I have. I just have the air.
Kevin Coelho
80 off coupon, only 100 bucks.
Tim Gettys
But dude, it's insane. Blessed. It's like as big as my phone and this thing just pumps my tires.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've been seeing like. I don't know why Tik Tok is. I mean I know why. It's cuz the algorithm is just insane. But like I. I was having issues for a while with my like one of my tires either had like the tiniest hole or something. But like every few months I would get that signal and I'm like, I'll just, I'll get it fixed. But first I'll just take this to the gas station. And then I. I keep putting off putting it off. I kept getting Tik Tok ads for that.
Tim Gettys
TikTok's worth it. It's a good purchase. I don't regret it.
Kevin Coelho
Get your tire fixed.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I did. I ended. I finally did.
Kevin Coelho
I wonder if, Tim, you had an issue with your rims, because if your rim, like, had a little dent in it, maybe that's where it was. Maybe because if you had multiple tires, which I don't necessarily believe.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. I don't know who did the job on my rim.
Kevin Coelho
Well, and I mean, it could just be from you hitting a curb like you. When you turn your tire into the.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, yeah.
Kevin Coelho
Oh, I get a real job.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I didn't know if that was on purpose or not.
Kevin Coelho
It was definitely on purpose.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I want to bring in another Super Chat.
Kevin Coelho
Good job holding it together.
Tim Gettys
I couldn't.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That was really good. Demon Hackeriz then says, Kirby wants to make Sakurai happy before burning him out.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I mean, straight up, it does feel like, okay, fine. You could make your Kirby.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Make Kirby Air riders fucking make it. All right. Do you want Kid Icarus too?
Tim Gettys
God. How do we not have that? I need it now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Volkdasher writes in, says two critically acclaimed video games, two critically acclaimed HBO TV seasons. More to come for both. I think it's time to accept that Last Bus is a massive ip, Much bigger than Uncharted and God of War.
Tim Gettys
You know, I think you're making a good point. It's time to admit it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's time to acknowledge that Last was a big ip.
Tim Gettys
All right, you're right. I mean, obviously you're right. It's just funny.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Bigger than God of War, Last of Us. Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I feel like, because the HBO show. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you think after the God of War TV shows, if the God of.
Tim Gettys
War TV show is good, I think God of War ends up winning.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think it's the most neck and neck thing right now. I think Last of Us is up because the HBO show, but I think once that Amazon show comes out, I think. I really think these two franchises are so neck and neck. And I don't know, like there's going to be had to be like a. I don't even know what it is. Something is going to have to push one ahead.
Tim Gettys
I think about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know what it's going to.
Tim Gettys
Be versus Last of Us in terms of like what we're talking here about massive ip. I think that there is more broad and different verticals of potential for God of War than there is for Last of Us.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Where, like, Last of Us, I think they're the. We're closer to Burnout if we're not already there. Like, a lot of people feel that way. I definitely don't. But, like, you look at, like a Walking Dead, and I think that it's very easy to look at Last of Us and be like, oh, man, if we get to the Last of Us four game, I don't know. Right. And I feel like some people would even say that about A three. And even with the show, there's already this fear of, oh, it's going to go on too long. XYZ God of War, I feel like, has the potential to kind of reinvent itself, go to different realms.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
God of War has the juice to, like, maybe just go on forever.
Tim Gettys
And they've already reinvented themselves. And I feel having two different eras that are both beloved, I think gives that a little bit of extra juice. They're both rated M franchises as well. So it's. I do think it's comparing apples to apples in a way. I just think that having a character of Kratos, like, there's things about that that I think lend itself to big IP in a way that Last of Us doesn't have. People.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think God of War also just has a longevity, too. I think starting off on the PlayStation 2 generation and being such a hit on the. On the PS2 generation kind of gives it that head start of there's an extra generation of gamers that, like, we're into God of War. Right. And there's a history and, like, a nostalgia there that Last of Us, of course, has because, like, that spans back to 2013, but it's, like, different when you span back to 2004.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And like, I'm. I. Yeah, I've not thought about that as far as how much further can you go with Last was before you burn people out versus how much further you can still go with God of War just based on what they are. I'm somebody who, I think in terms of setting and in terms of, I guess, just IP in general, I lean more towards Last of Us because I like post Apocalypse. I like those characters. I like that world. But if Last of Us didn't get another game, I would be so. Okay. Right. But, like, if right now for God of War, I. I don't think I expect another iteration at least of, like, this current God of War that we have. And I'm kind of sad about it. I Could you? I could use more God of War, but I don't know for it. I think the next time we see it, it's going to be reinvented.
Tim Gettys
And so, yeah, potentially I want more of both. I'm a basic little boy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hey man, eat up all your PlayStation slop and we'll read just one more from Gonzordin who says paying my birthday tax hype for the shit list. Happy birthday, Gonzordin. And Happy birthday. Tim's pointing to me.
Tim Gettys
Breaking news. Hold on. Breaking news. Give me a sec, give me a sec.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, I mean, I'm about to go to ads.
Tim Gettys
Do you want to add Go to ads.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, well, happy birthday to you guys listening and watching because guess what? I'm going to tell you about patreon.com kinda funny where you can go and get the Kinda funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. Speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

Tim Gettys
For gamers out there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Death Stranding 2 Switch 2.
Tim Gettys
Death Stranding 2. Is that June?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Death Stranding 2 Summer Game Fest. Summer Game Fest what if I told you Rematch from the developers of Sifu. Coming day one to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate June 19th.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's go. Oh, we're eaten.
Tim Gettys
Can you believe it's this soon?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Eaten. Oh, let's go.
Tim Gettys
Pre order now for early access. They're saying it's coming to switch or. Sorry, no, no switch. No Switch. Steam, PlayStation, Xbox Game Pass.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I actually can. Summer felt right for this. Summer felt right.
Tim Gettys
They announced the game awards, correct?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wow. Yeah. Quick turnaround.
Tim Gettys
That's awesome to see.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. I'm happy this is coming around this time because this feels right, even though it kind of. It does suck for the fact that June usually isn't this busy.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And for some reason, just this year, June is the big month where everything's happening at the same same time. But let's go.
Tim Gettys
Hell yeah. Kev, can you click that, that YouTube link? Let's watch the. The trailer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, we got a trailer.
Tim Gettys
This going to take over your life.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Man.
Tim Gettys
Keepers or sweepers?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dude, I'm going to get so filthy at this. This. I'm going to get so filthy. Oh, good for them.
Tim Gettys
Good for them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good for them. Getting game pass now. June 19th is the early access. Is that what they're saying here?
Tim Gettys
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Or they're saying pre order for early access.
Tim Gettys
Yes, exactly. So I think June 19, the is.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like the actual date.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. That's wild. Congrats then. That's great. I think this is an awesome kind of marketing cycle of hit the game awards. You're a known quantity as a developer thanks to Sifu and then, yeah, banging out. I am very happy for you. I. This, this is one that I want to give a shot. I don't think it's for me, but like, God, they've earned at least me giving it a shot after how much I've loved. You know what I mean? So this is going to be the.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Start of your soccer journey.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I could see you. I could see you being the kind of guy that's super into soccer. I don't think I could see it.
Tim Gettys
I don't think, you know, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just thinking about it, just think about his wrestling. But not, not as much, like, exciting storyline.
Tim Gettys
Oh, okay.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know what I mean?
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is a different sport. It's not as scripted, but it's still gonna be fun.
Tim Gettys
Not as.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's not as scripted, you know. Story number three, Amazon's live action Tomb Raider show from Fleabag's Phoebe Waller Bridges could be dead. This is Vicki Blake at ign, Amazon's highly anticipated live action Tomb Raider TV show. Is reportedly dead as spotted by Eurogamer. The Daily Mail today reports that the show has quote, hit the buffers, end quote with game. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who was tipped to play the titular character, tied up with other projects for most of 2025.
Tim Gettys
Really?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
The the mill said the project, which would have been based on the long running Tomb Raider video game franchise, may have been impacted when head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke, who greenlit the show, was booted from her position last week. However, Puck reports Salke provided a brutal update before she left Amazon, intimating Waller Bridge had allegedly not produced a script despite the $20 million a year deal she signed in 2019. Nonetheless, the deal was renewed with Puck reporting that Salke was quote, personally overseeing after announcing a series pickup last May. And the series has now gone through two writers rooms and tens of millions of dollars in development costs. There's still no script, end quote. Amazon formally announced its Tomb Raider live action series for prime video in January 2023, revealing Fleabag star Phoebe Waller Bridge was in place as writer and executive producer. Some drama it feels like.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, man. Watch the studio on Apple tv.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Honestly, are you caught up?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
When was the last episode?
Tim Gettys
Two days ago.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, I'm not caught up. Good episode. Oh my God, I love the studio.
Tim Gettys
Yeah. This is interesting, especially with the next story we're about to get to. But it is not surprising, but also like, guys, it's Tomb Raider. Like figure it out.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, maybe Waller Bridge bust out the pen, write the script.
Tim Gettys
What you do.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Jennifer Salkey, stop throwing shade. And then who's the first name? Sophie Turner. Free up your schedule. Yeah, let's do something. You know what I mean? Let's work together, guys. All right. It's been so long since we had a Tomb Raider adaptation.
Tim Gettys
I mean earlier when you did the cold open, you were just like the Amazon's Tomb Raiders in trouble or whatever. I thought about the game.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know what?
Tim Gettys
I should have clarified that also by Amazon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I forgot that was published by Amazon. Yeah, we're talking about the TV show also. Where is the game?
Tim Gettys
I don't know. Speaking of that, just real quick.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Is that game in trouble? Is that game getting Wonder Woman? You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean they got that is Crystal Dynamics who got bought by Embracer. I think during the process. It's impossible to say when. What did the last update we got from it was that post acquisition. That's a. That might be a question for chat.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, I don't know because that's long.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Enough, long ago enough.
Tim Gettys
But I bring that up. But then I also bring up James Bond. Right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I don't think that we, we weren't here, so I don't know what the conversation was, but I feel like for everything that's happened in the last week, we haven't talked enough about the fact that Project 007 from I.O. was re shown. Sure. It was the same trailer we saw before, I think at the Switch 2 event. But it was shown like that was gonna be like, hey, it's real and it's happening. Like, are we seeing that at Summer Game Festival?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, here's the thing. If we are, why wouldn't you just have shown more at the Switch two thing?
Tim Gettys
Because maybe they're not that ready, but they're ready for Summer Game Fest.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right, but then what would you show at Summer Game? Like a cinematic trailer or something.
Tim Gettys
Are we gonna play this at Summer Game Fest?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't think so.
Tim Gettys
We're playing it at Summer Game Fest.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You think so I'm calling it. Well, why wouldn't you show any gameplay at the Switch? Do you think, do you think they were like, we want to save gameplay.
Tim Gettys
For Hitman's a launch title, right? Yeah, maybe just because that was kind of their one, two punch of just like, hey, World of Assassination. And also.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dude, I would love to see it. I would love to play it at Summer Game Fest.
Tim Gettys
But like, I don't know, I starting the rumor now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I just think it's a weird thing. The only thing, the only reason I would think you wouldn't show any gameplay at Switch 2 would be that you would have to show the Switch to build of the game. And like, maybe you want to save your first gameplay reveal for what can show like the highest spec PC gameplay trailer and that would make sense for an opening.
Tim Gettys
I mean, I also think that the reality is that for the general consumers, I don't think gameplay it matters. I think it's just what they showed is like, oh shit, there's a James Bond. That's all they really need to do, you know, get the marketing beat later. Like you're saying like having the higher specs and all that stuff and like make that shit single.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
My, my, my impression was that that was kind of like them poking their head out for the year, reminding the world like, hey, we exist and we're coming out on the Nintendo and then we'll see them next year.
Tim Gettys
I hope Raul Kohli is James Bond.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that'd be so sick. Can you imagine that? And sorrows Coming out the same year, we got Rahul Ki. A big Rahul Kohli year. Let's move on to story number four. Devil May Cry has been renewed for season two. This comes directly from Devil May Cry.
Tim Gettys
Expectations too high again.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, are they wrong? You think Rahul Kohli is gonna be James Bond?
Tim Gettys
He said, Rahul Kohli is not 007. Oh, man. You heard it from Meet My expectations.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This comes from Dominic Cry on Twitter. They tweeted out simply, this party's getting crazy. Season two is officially confirmed for Netflix's Devil May Cry. Tim, what does that do for you?
Tim Gettys
Everything. I really, really, really enjoyed season one the way it ended. I'm like, give me season two now. It's always like, my favorite compliment to a thing is the moment it ends being like, I want it. I want the next one now. And I felt that way about this. But tying it into Gene Park's tweet here, which is something we talk about a lot, but I'd love to see it continue to happen here. Gene tweets Devil May Cry HD collection on the left hits a steam all time high. And DMC5 sees a spike in players after the Netflix show released. It's getting people in the mood. I am one of those people. I went back, I've been playing a lot of Devil May Cry three, Dante's Awakening, because, yeah, you watch this stuff, you're like, I want to play. And we've seen it before with Witcher. We've seen it with Last of Us. Last of Us Two is probably going to get a giant bump in the next couple weeks. Yeah. Cyberpunk as well with Edge Runners. Like, cool stuff, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. No, I absolutely love this.
Tim Gettys
This is why people, a lot of the publishers out there want movies and TV adaptations of their games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. And honestly, like, I think the something to be commended to is just how available a Devil May Cry thing is for people who watch the show and immediately go, oh, man, I want to check out Devil May Cry or, I want to play it. That brings me back to last year with the Fallout issue of, you finish that Fallout TV show and you have a craving for Fallout and there's not the ideal way. You know what I mean? Fallout 4 came out in, like, 2015, and people would say that maybe New Vegas or 3 might be better, but those games are old and, like, man, like, are these games available if I have a PS5 or whatever, like Devil May Cry. Cool. You got DMC5 if you want the latest, the most polished, the most up to date, Iteration. Boom. You have that. If you want the nostalgia, guess what? HD remasters like. That's how you do it, you know, Give it to the people, give it to the peeps. Tim, story number five. It's time. The triple I collective happened this morning. We got Katana zero DLC and more Tim. And that's where I want to start off. But before I get there, if you're wondering what is the III collective, It is a video game showcase for III games made by studios for the players. I'm reading directly from their website where they talk about it. No hosts, no ads, no extra fluff, just games. Tune in for a trailer packed showcase followed by four days of game sales and exclusive demos. We're simply a bunch of studios banding together to share exciting news to our players in a short show packed with back to back trailers. Which is exactly how I like it now. I put out a tweet asking people, hey, send me the good. Send me the trailers that we should check out on khd. Kevin, I'm going to need you. That wasn't a tweet, actually, it's a Blue sky post. But I need you to help me pull up this Blue sky post because I'm scrol scrolling through it. I'm trying to find a Katana Zero trailer. Is there a way we can watch this Katana zero trailer? You might have to refresh it.
Kevin Coelho
Wait, sorry. The Katana Zero trail. You want me to just go to YouTube?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I guess you could YouTube it. I think somebody did reply with it, but you can YouTube it.
Kevin Coelho
Let me double check here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And as you're doing that, I'm also looking through because I'm seeing quite a few people talk about Void Breaker and a couple other games that we need to check out. I think Dusk Fade is another one, but we'll get there in a second.
Kevin Coelho
Void Breaker.
Tim Gettys
Yeah, Jay, Baseball super chat saying Tim needs to see the Dusk Fade trailer asap.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, so we'll watch this and then we'll watch Dusk Fade. So right now Kevin's gonna play on the Katana Zero deal.
Tim Gettys
Good for them. Getting DLCs. That's awesome.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good for them. But also why is it taking so long? Kazan zero is such a good game. Have you played Kazan zero?
Tim Gettys
I haven't beat it. But yeah, I need to get back to it because yeah, it rocks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Come on. The Katana zero DLC still coming. Still free. I love that we got an update, but the breaks my heart. Yeah, give me a date. This shit's been in development for longer than I'm Pretty sure. Than. Than Hollow Knight. Silk Song.
Tim Gettys
They're trying to.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Silk Song is a full game now. Yeah, they're trying to. Yeah, I guess maybe. I'm joking, but this hurts my heart.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
But also it looks like.
Tim Gettys
But hey, it's coming.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. Still, Katana zero is like the. If you want to ask. If you want to like ask about blessing ass games, the two sides of the spectrum are probably blueprints on one side and Katana zero on the other side. Like, that is like the spectrum for me of the. That I'm into. If you haven't played Katana zero, go play it. Kevin, if you can bring up what was the one you mentioned, Tim?
Tim Gettys
Dusk fade.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dusk fade. Can we get. Oh, there we go. We got the Steam trailer here.
Tim Gettys
Going back. Sounds tempting, doesn't it? But if we're always looking back.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We'Ll miss everything the present has for us.
Tim Gettys
Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh.
Tim Gettys
You know, Hearts, like literally, he had Sora's combo.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And the music gives some Disney type energy. Oh yeah. Rail gliding there.
Tim Gettys
There's some Tim. There's some real Tim.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm liking the music a lot.
Tim Gettys
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do you know what this reminds me of? In the way that you with Nico de Rico. Because of what it like tried to be as far as like a Crash Bandicoot like game. This feels like the Nico Dico to Kingdom Hearts.
Tim Gettys
Straight up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
I'm here for it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. The Steam. Steam page reads, shatter the shackles of time as you jump, swing and slash through a fantastic world. In this love letter to classic 3D action platformers, Zerion, accompanied by his mechanical cuckoo, must. Must save his sister from a mysterious clock tower that has plunged the land into eternal night.
Tim Gettys
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's cool. Kevin. I want to check out this game. Oh, actually, what's this? You have pulled up Void Breaker. Yes. Void Breaker. This is where I was going. Thank you. Yeah.
Kevin Coelho
A little too much distortion on that voice.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, we got a Rogue light.
Tim Gettys
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, we got a Roguelite.
Tim Gettys
Bro.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
For. For listeners is a first person shooter. Has some like spacey cyberpunky vibes to it. Fast paced gameplay. Oh, you have the three choices you're making for upgrades right there. Different elements combining seemingly.
Tim Gettys
Whoa.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Different gun designs. Just a lot of going on on screen. Coming out. 2025.
Tim Gettys
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That is Void Breaker reading from Steam. Adrenaline fueled Roguelite FPS. Fight relentless machines driven by a hostile AI Escape an endless cycle. Craft infinite weapon variants with deep gun modding. Forge deadly synergies. Carve your way out through enviro destruction. Break the System break the sequence, Break free.
Tim Gettys
Donkey Kong changed everything, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dude, Donkey Kong came through and changed the game. That's awesome, Tim.
Tim Gettys
The play test is today for Void Breakers. Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, I missed that.
Tim Gettys
Cool.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There you go. The one tough thing with this is that I think I saw somebody chat mention this as well. There's this game, Metal Eden that has similar vibes that's about to come out next month. Actually, that looks dope as hell as well.
Tim Gettys
He was telling me about that one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Andy probably was telling me about. It's the indie game for sure. It's like basically it's cyberpunk Doom first person shooter where you're just fucking going crazy. But Tim, I hope these games make it big.
Tim Gettys
Me too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hope these games have a huge success, huge launch. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
Tim Gettys
Go to our last story, the WE News channel where we cover all the small news items that you need to know about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Story number six is WE News from discussing film via Deadline. A live action Magic the Gathering movie will be directed by BlackBerry director Matt Johnson. Film is the zoom out. The film is intended to. I just wasn't expecting it. The film is intended to be the start of a live action cinematic universe for the franchise. Listen, I understand that this isn't necessarily video game news. However, Magic the Gathering arena is a video game technically and so I'm gonna include it. I'm excited for this.
Tim Gettys
Dude. Shout out to Matt Johnson, man for rushing the game out there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Good for Matt Johnson. Insane from vgc. A former Sony Japan studio producer who.
Tim Gettys
Worked Matt Johnson just. Just put it out there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Nirvana, the band, the show, also the Wii release day music video.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh yeah. Oh shoot. I didn't even connect those dots. A former Sony Japan studio producer who worked on Bloodborne and Demon Souls has co founded a new studio in Tokyo. Serious Studio is a subsidiary of the Osaka based GZ Group. But while GZ is mainly focused on VR and AR games, Serious will also be working on larger games for console and PC next date. Everything launches June 17 on Xbox Series X, PS5, Switch and PC. Creepy Ned. Keep creepy redneck. Dinosaur Mansion 3 Jesus Christ. Launches April 22 on PC. I believe that is a strange scaffold joint if you with those salary Nelson Games. And finally Gorn2 launches April 17th on Steam and Meta Quest. Kevin, put a banana in there but you're not getting my ass.
Kevin Coelho
I had one earlier and I would have gotten you but you didn't read the full story.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, did you have it in like the press release? Yeah. Yeah.
Kevin Coelho
And I panicked and so I moved it too quickly. You were talking, God damn it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And that is it for We News. Let's hop into kind offunding.com. you were wrong. You write in.
Tim Gettys
Do that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong, so we can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. Let's see here. There's no way this is true.
Tim Gettys
It's true.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
There's no damn true. Kebabs writes in and says, out. Today, Naughty Dog is re releasing The Last of Us 1 and 2 again. This time as the Last of Us complete PS5 bundle of one remake and two remastered.
Tim Gettys
Good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's getting its own collector's edition on July 10th. No way. No way.
Tim Gettys
I mean, of course I called this shit months ago and I didn't win the prediction because it wasn't where I said it was gonna be. It did me. Dirty PlayStation.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's true. Wow.
Tim Gettys
Apparently there's a trailer. Nikash, I don't need to watch another trailer. You need to watch it. You'll appreciate the orchestra version of the theme.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, let's watch it. Maybe I could use another trailer. Can you send that to Kevin? It is sent as Kevin's pulling that up. Bander, as Sen writes in and says, in regards to Lassos versus God of War, Ragnarok handedly outsold. Last was to. Ragnarok reached 11 million copies in a few months when Last was to reach 10 million after two years. Games wise, God of War is the clear front runner.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Take that, Tim. Take that.
Tim Gettys
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, I probably agree still with the point that you're making earlier with Surviving.
Tim Gettys
Hey, Alvarez. No matter what that sound, you keep finding something to fight for.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, yeah. That orchestra, you can't stop this.
Tim Gettys
Sick. That's cool. Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You remember when Insomniac changed the Peter Parker design from. In like. I think it was Spider Man Remastered to just a different Peter Parker? What would you do if for this version you boot up the game and instead of the Ellie, you know, it's Bella Ramsey and like Joel is Pedro Pascal?
Tim Gettys
Yeah. I mean, I would riot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got like all costumes or something. Like all.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Actually all skins would be. You know what?
Tim Gettys
Interesting.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Actually, no, I was gonna. I was gonna make a bet that it would happen.
Tim Gettys
No, I think it's too much work and.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Tim Gettys
Money probably.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Because then you would have to. It would be like a lot of facial capture stuff that you would have to implement, to make that work.
Tim Gettys
So to this day, surprised I would like lose everything I own on the bet that I would have made that there. There's no way that Last of Us season one would not include the scene of him getting flipped upside down and having to shoot. But it didn't. And that's crazy to me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I forgot that it didn't. Didn't I didn't.
Tim Gettys
I stand by. That is like one of the most iconic moments of that game. How was it not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wait, did that not happen in the game?
Tim Gettys
No, it didn't. And then every. Not everyone. So many people were just like, tim. Like that moment wasn't that iconic. I'm like, what the. Are you smoking?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, they're wrong. Yeah, that's a moment for sure.
Tim Gettys
It wasn't in the show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You should keep. Dang, that's crazy. I don't even think I realized he.
Kevin Coelho
Was flipped upside down though. In an episode, right. He gets caught by a pills trap, right?
Tim Gettys
Yeah, but I mean like, it's not like at all the same.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No.
Kevin Coelho
Yeah, yeah, totally. I don't disagree with you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Before we get out of here, let me take one more look at the super chat. Street Shadow says just a lastless digital bundle. Not really a re release, but people will still complain. I bet. Aiden from Edmonton says, tim, I'm replaying Prince of Persia, the Lost Crown once again for the DLC and just need to say thank you again for championing this game. It's so good.
Tim Gettys
Hell yeah, man. What a game and what a DLC pack. Mask of Darkness was great, but all the extra like combat stuff and puzzles that they added as dlc. Like I'm still not done with all of them and it's the type of. That I don't know that I'll ever fully do because it just gets hard. Let's go. Good though.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Dexter Schwarzler, excuse me, writes in it says re listen to Indiana Indiana in review. Just a reminder. Bless. Wanted to be in Mission Impossible Final Reckoning. You two are awesome. Craig, suck it with stars in the bank. Did I say I wanted to be a Mission Impossible Final Reckoning?
Tim Gettys
I'm sure you did.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Can I. We can continue this campaign because I definitely. Yeah, I would love to be but I think they've already filmed and so. Yeah, I don't. It's not looking good for me.
Tim Gettys
I think you saw in review. Blast.
Kevin Coelho
Yeah, he's definitely talking about interview.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, I thought he meant the film. Put me in the film though.
Tim Gettys
Put me in the film.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know what I would do. I was like. I don't remember saying it. I want to be in the film. But yo, I'll campaign for it. Yeah, put me in the film.
Tim Gettys
God, somebody put. I want the blessing cut.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Somebody please Photoshop that or, like, do like. Yeah, like, just superimpose me into a video.
Tim Gettys
Into the poster. Yeah, I want bless in the Mission Impossible Final reckoning poster.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know if there's hanging on.
Tim Gettys
Next to Tom Cruise.
Kevin Coelho
I would like an edit of the trailer that cuts to bless. Just eating the popsicle.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Thank you. I want me in the background of. Of Tom. Not Tom Hanks, who's the homeboy that fucking stars in the whole thing. I want. I want to be running behind him.
Tim Gettys
Tom Hanks.
Kevin Coelho
No, no, he doesn't. Guys don't do anything for him. If he doesn't know. Homeboy that stars in it, he doesn't get to be hanged.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What's his name? Here's okay, if you want a confession out of me that's gonna upset people, right? I was having a conversation in with my group chat about this yesterday. I'm so bad when it comes to white actors. I was. I. Ethan Hunt is the name of the character. But I love this man. His name's not Tom. Yes, it is, Tom.
Tim Gettys
Name's not Tom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Which Tom is it? It's. It's Ethan Hunt. Tom.
Tim Gettys
Anyway, what's your favorite type of boat.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tom? Steamboat.
Tim Gettys
Favorite type of ship.
Kevin Coelho
You. Tom Steamboat is what this son of just looked at you and said.
Tim Gettys
Your favorite type of boats is steamboat.
Kevin Coelho
That was the best guess he had.
Tim Gettys
Steamboat.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm pretty sure Tom Steamboat is a porn star, by the way. Yeah, Google it for a bit. Tommy. Steamboat Tommy.
Kevin Coelho
Oh, Tommy's probably. Yeah, it's a poor name for sure.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, Tom Jet Ski. Tom Hardy.
Tim Gettys
Jet Ski Tom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean, jet skis are kind of both. I mean, they're not boats, but they fly in the water like boats. Ship, Tom. Titanic.
Tim Gettys
What type of ship? Think about types of ships, Tom.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tom. Yacht. Tom. Pirate ship. Tom.
Kevin Coelho
Yep, that's it. You nailed it. Tom. Pirate ship.
Tim Gettys
The fact is, I thought he was with us, and now it's clear he's not. Now it's clear he just actually doesn't have it.
Kevin Coelho
There's no way, because he doesn't think. Tom Pirate shit from Mission Impossible.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tom for Mission Dude, I'm sweating right now not be able to figure this out. Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise. Fuck.
Kevin Coelho
Your Google does not respect you at all.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm sweating so much.
Tim Gettys
This motherfucker just googled Tom from Mission Impossible.
Kevin Coelho
I would have just googled Mission Impossible and looked at the accident.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm sweating so much right now. I haven't felt this kind of heat in years. Oh, that's hilarious.
Tim Gettys
That was all recorded Blessed. Like, there's no running from it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, it's one of those things where it's like, you ask me on any random Tuesday, usually I'm able to nail Tom Cruise. He's one of the few white actors that I know. I'm like, oh, I love that guy because I watched the. His movie specifically. Yeah, I know he's into, like, I don't know, weird stuff.
Tim Gettys
Do you know that?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like, Scientology and stuff like that. Right? But yeah, no, Tom Cruise, my guy. Ethan Hunt. Not Hanks. Hanks was in the other movies.
Tim Gettys
Hanks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hanks was the guy with the volleyball God.
Tim Gettys
Okay, here's what I need from you now, okay? I need Bless hanging off the. The plane from Mission Impossible, Final Reckoning. But I also need a shot of Bless and Tom Hanks running together.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Give me. Yeah, give me. And Tom Hanks run. I want to be running in the background. Yeah, he's running really fast.
Tim Gettys
Tom Hanks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And I'm running slowly behind him.
Kevin Coelho
Throw Wilson in there somewhere.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Wilson. That is it for super chats.
Tim Gettys
You're right. Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks did run.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, yeah, you're right. Yeah.
Kevin Coelho
America.
Tim Gettys
Three times, two and a half Steamboat, everybody. Never let that down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tom Jet Ski, of course. This has been kind of funny. Games daily. Each and every weekday, we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about. Live on YouTube, Twitch podcast services around the globe. I had a rough start to the morning.
Tim Gettys
You know, let's blame that, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'd missed that I missed out on my morning coffee excuse.
Kevin Coelho
You always have it. Was it bad math last time and you were like, oh, I don't know, something happened.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
What was the bad math I did last time?
Kevin Coelho
Oh, no, it was. Was it Victorian era?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, you know, you don't have to bring that up.
Tim Gettys
You don't have to bring that up. Don't worry about it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
