patreon.com kindafunny Today's gaming news stories include Saudi Arabia buying a chunk of Capcom AI Co pilot is coming to Xbox consoles. And that Subnautica story somehow just cut. Really, really crazy. We'll have all this and more because this is kind of funny. Games Daily. What is up, gamers? Welcome back to kinda funny Games daily for Monday, March 16, 2026.
Greg Miller
I'm sorry. Oh, what date?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
March 16.
Greg Miller
March 16. Yeah. 163 16. Can I get a hell yeah. Hell yeah. Oh, fuck. Open up your Steve wisers, boys. It's 300.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, he's just. Oh no.
Greg Miller
Check the camera. He came to see you. He came to see you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. Oh, he's Greg standing up on the the speaker. Oh, the camera. Greg is over there. He's in the corner. He's drinking beers. Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
Nothing better than a 10am Budweiser. What? King of beers.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just a Bud. Hard one.
Greg Miller
Be two beer. Rest in peace Blessing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're gonna say stone cold. I was like, oh, now for the
Greg Miller
record, Christopher says, greg, eat that beer. You need to know how many times. I was like, well, Kevin will kill me if anyone throws a beer to me while I'm on set.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was like, how messy are we getting right now?
Greg Miller
Kevin will kill me if I chug a beer on set. I was like, so I could come into work and I could set my my phone up outside and discord in and then I could walk off set and chug it out. I'm like, but then I only have the one pair of pants. I'm gonna smell it. I was like, you know what was a slow play? A couple of Budweisers pulled over after work.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Sir, what do you smell like one beer to be?
Greg Miller
Well, officers, you know, it's a national holiday. It's 3:16.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg, how are you doing? I feel I was scared because I did see you walk over to Barrett and explain Something. I was like, what is happening? Who's coming in? Who you call in? So this is pretty tame, actually, by your standards.
Greg Miller
For my standards, yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Of course.
Greg Miller
I'm feeling good. You know what I mean? We're having a day here. We're having a day here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's been a day already. I mean, so many people are out, right?
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If you watch the buzz. Everybody go watch the buzz.
Greg Miller
It's all wrong.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Don't watch the bus.
Greg Miller
All wrong as usual.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Not if it's happening.
Greg Miller
Buzz is completely outdated by the time it hits the store shelves.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Immediately.
Greg Miller
Media company.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Immediately.
Greg Miller
Everybody's sick. Yeah. We started having them drop like flies yesterday for different reasons. You know what I mean? International colds coming in. Nobody knows what's happening out there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Just insane. And then this morning, not to peel back the current too much. But then I. Everything's all fucked. And then I just see Bear come in, and he's setting up the thing. He's like, why is the screen not working? Why is the back. I'm like, this would be awesome if no one's here. And also, we have no screen.
Greg Miller
At some point, we got God saying, don't make content today. And that's when we all go to the bar.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Exactly. We just tell Tim, hey, we're not doing anything today.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Roger McConville
For a good chunk this morning, it was just like. This was what the. The back wall looks like. We're like, how do we fix.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Honestly, this is a pretty good look. Right?
Greg Miller
There's something we need to get straight right away. All right.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And that.
Greg Miller
That everybody's got to be chill, and everybody has to remember that Tim doesn't watch everything. So when we fuck something up, like, say, not do a kind of funny podcast and no one noticed, we don't fucking make a Reddit thread about it. We just go, oh, God. The guys are pretty busy, I guess, during gdc.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Did you also not realize that?
Greg Miller
We didn't realize that didn. Because I saw that Friday night. I'm fine. I'm like, dead on the thing. I'm like, there's no kind of funny. I'm like, that can't be right. There's no kind of funny podcast. I was like, it's. It's still. I think the thing that we think of the kind of funny podcast on Monday.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
So when we were like, all right, there's no game show.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, exactly.
Greg Miller
There's no game showdown on Monday because of it. We just never thought to, like. I think the schedule is only built. I noticed last week when I started Building the schedule, it was like I really had to be like, oh, shit. Kevin only went this far putting in game showdowns for Mondays. And so it's like bubble. Yeah, there's a bunch of Tetris going on a very complicated schedule.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That makes me very happy, though, because I. When I saw that thread, I was like, man, like, maybe just Greg had a higher level thinking. He had the conversation with Tim. We figured out, no, we're just.
Greg Miller
I mean, we definitely didn't need it, you know, like, it's not like, yeah, we had enough.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You didn't miss anything. We're all, we're all, we're all dying. We're all having a good time getting ready to get into kfcd. Any. Anything you've been playing before we get.
Greg Miller
No, we're in a yellow spoon. Kind of funny podcast needs a rejuvenation every time we do something different. Oh, you're being fun with us, aren't you? Sorry, I'm pretty. Every time we change the kind of funny podcast, people get so mad that it's not the kind of funny podcast anymore. Like, fine, it's just the same shit. Don't get mad when we show up and Nick just talks about whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Greg is in a mood.
Greg Miller
We're all beer in everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's 10:05 and it's not good because, like, I'm just instinctually going for the beer and like, that's not good. Come on, come on, come on.
Greg Miller
What do you mean that's no good?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's no good.
Greg Miller
We had a fun one today, you and me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's Saudi Arabia.
Greg Miller
Saudi Arabia. Jesus Christ.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fucking Jesus Christ. But of course, remember, this is kinda Funny Games Daily. If you're watching live, be a part of the show by super chatting on YouTube.com kind of funny games. We couldn't do it without our producers on patreon.com kindafunny so thank you, Carl Jacobs. Omega Buster and Delaney Delaney. The Psalm twining for now. Let's begin with what is and forever will be the robo ruble. It's time for something else. Six stories today.
Greg Miller
A baker's dozen.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Do we just always have the one now? You know what I mean? Yeah.
Greg Miller
That's how that one dies.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, you just incredible. Welcome to the show, Everybody. Story number one. Saudi Arabia buys another 5% of Capcom as Resident Evil requiem sales hit 6 million. This is from Ethan Gotch over at Kotaku. Resident Evil Requiem has shown that Capcom's gaming domination isn't slowing down anytime soon. The game just became the fastest selling entry in the horror franchise franchise's history a year after Monster Hunter Wilds had the biggest launch for that series. The critically acclaimed game and strong sales haven't gone unnoticed by fans or industry watchers. Saudi Arabia, currently in the process of gobbling up Electronic Arts, just grabbed a 5% stake in the Resident Evil maker. The timing is notable. Requiem hit 6 million sales in its first couple weeks, Capcom announced on Monday, quote Going forward, Capcom plans to implement several measures such as ongoing support and additional game content so players can continue to enjoy the title longer, the company wrote. DLC is already rumored to be coming later this year, and Capcom is teasing another other plans ahead of the franchise's 30th anniversary later this month. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, just expanded its stake in gaming with a new 5% shareholder stake in Capcom, Game Biz Reports via Automaton. The stock was purchased by Electronic Gaming Development Co. An investment subsidiary under Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salaam's Misk Foundation. That's the same group that recently took over SNK Corporation, shoehorned Cristiano Ronaldo into the new Fatal Fury and oversaw the release of an AI slop trailer for the fighting game's second year of seasonal content. The company claims its new stake in Capcom is, quote, pure investment to reap profits from the stock. The new stake is in addition to the existing 5% stake that the Saudi Public Investment Fund previously purchased. The other wing of Saudi Arabia's growing gaming ambitions is Savvy Games Group, an investment vehicle led by former Activision exec Brian Ward. He was recently interviewed at GDC 2026 about the group's long term vision after it acquired high profile companies like Scopely from Monopoly Go and Niantic Pokemon Go, Ward claimed Savvy is in no rush to make any changes per game file. Saudi Arabia's expansion into gaming is as much about acquiring cultural capital and soft power as anything else, which makes the recent war launched by the US and in Israel against Iran a test for the kingdom. Mixing business and geopolitics the Washington Post previously reported that Saudi Arabia has been lobbying President Trump for weeks to get him to bomb Iran, quote It's obvious it's obviously not helpful for the region to have this escalation and it will probably change or cool the perception of it as being a stable and quiet place where people want to go, ward told Bloomberg about the war his bosses appear to have supported. In addition to over a thousand dead and regional fears about missiles and drone warfare, the war has been spiking the global Price of oil, which benefits the company currently trying to close a deal to buy EA for $55 billion, much of which is financed by high interest debt. Saudi Arabia also recently consolidated its control of the biggest Street Fighter tournament event of the year, evo. It's also reportedly pursuing other acquisitions in gaming. Despite calls for more regulatory scrutiny, a friendly Trump administration seems unlikely to do anything but rubber stamp the current EA deal. There's the smallest amount of good news there, which is Resident Evil.
Greg Miller
Oh, my God. That's what you're grabbing on me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We got that, and then we got all of this. Greg, where do you want to start with this dumpster fire?
Greg Miller
This sucks. You know what I mean? The continued encroachment of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund stinks. Again, we've talked about this a million times in the show. You know, this is what I learned it and you know it, of course, from our WWE stuff of like, the term sports washing right. Of like, okay, cool, let's clean up our image by sponsoring all these sports, bringing all these people here. Look at how cool we are. We're the city of play, as they want to be called, right? You then see move over to video games. You've then seen it move over to comedy. You name it. Saudi Arabia's throwing money at things, trying to clean up their image that they aren't killing journalists from the Washington Post and not at all degrees removed from the person we're talking about here of the Crown Prince. And of course, then just the atrocities of human rights that are happening over there as well. So it's still as disturbing as ever. It sucks to see it happen. You know, you're getting into fucking shady shit when you're like, well, it's. It's the sa. There's the savvy games group doing that over here. But over here, this is Electronic Gaming Development Company, a subsidiary.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's like, oh, my God, how many. How many shell corporations?
Greg Miller
I mean, I'm playing Metal Gear here, right? Like, chasing out what the fuck's going on and who actually is doing. But it all leads back to one place in one group of people. And that sucks. This whole thing sucks. You know, it's funny. Not funny, I should say. It's. I like the reporting here to bring in the Bloomberg article, right? Because over on Bloomberg, there was this article that went up. What day was this? It was incredibly recently on March 11, right? Which was IRA or the Iran war threatened Saudi Arabia's $38 billion video game push, right? As it is really delving into what that means. This is from Cecilia over at Bloomberg of what this means for them. They go to this and again, they've been for years working on this, let alone the ea, let alone everything else. But then it is also the fact that they're our president is in their pocket. This entire administration, which is as rigged and clearly fucking corrupt as possible. They're not going to stand in the way of any of this stuff. So it really does become what is going to shake out with this war? What is going to shake out with midterms? What is going to shake out X, Y and Z. But I don't think you see this grind to a halt anytime soon. And when it does, when inevitably the bottom falls out on this and whatever happens, happens. Maybe it's just a change in leadership, regime change, which is sometimes what we're talking about, depending on who you talk to on what we're doing in the Iran war to begin with. It's a can of worms. This is like what we've talked about from the beginning. And you can remove Saudi Arabia from it and talk about Tencent. You talk about all these foreign groups that were coming in and investing in the video game market and where we're going.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And also with those foreign groups, them now pulling out a lot of the times. Right. As you're alluding to how Saudi Arabia inevitably are not going to be able to fund SNK and have all of these fight King of Fighters on a bunch of WWE programming, you know, spending all of this money and resources on a game that is not performing as well as, you know, you would think it would compared to the amount of money that they're pouring into it with, you know, NetEase pulling out from Gang of Dragons. Right. Like, like all of these little things, you're seeing it all happening, right. With 10 cent pulling out of, you know, High Guard, of course, a different story, but still in the. These, this infinite money glitch is not infinite to a certain degree.
Greg Miller
Yeah, there was a couple of weeks ago on Games Daily, we talked about an article and I forget who was reporting it. Chad, if you can find it for me, just shout it out so we get it up. That was that there had been rumors that they were starting to cool on this of like, okay, cool. We, we can't be throwing money around like this. Yeah, but it's such an interesting thing of they're using the sports and they're using the video games and they're using the comedy as propaganda.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes.
Greg Miller
So when you bring up the return on investment on I Think. I don't think anyone at Saudi Arabia is worried about that, Right. I think it has to be the side of the oil, the war, tumultuous Middle east, like, you know, to bring this back to nerdy shit that you may not know about or care about. Right. Next year's WrestleMania is supposed to be in Saudi Arabia, right? And so there is this big question in the wrestling community right now, like, is that actually going to happen? As we see everybody else that has fallen for this fucking Pied Piper of money over there right now canceling events in the near future, you go, okay, but you look at that and what if. If we're talking a year out of what this war done, how unstable the Middle east is, etcetera, etc, etcetera. You then get to a point of if this goes as bad as it seems like it's going and could go, and X, Y and Z and people don't feel comfortable traveling there, and it isn't this destiny, if that initiative from Saudi Arabia fails, that's when you go, all right, cut all this shit then.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Because, yeah, SNK isn't making us money. We don't give a shit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, exactly. Or they eventually cut it themselves, right? Because it's. It's. It's so interesting to me because, like, to pull it back, right? Of course, I think Capcom and all of these video game things, they're the smaller breadcrumbs for them. They want to build. They want to build these things out. They want to say, hey, look, we own Capcom and you like Resident Evil, so we're good people, right? But then the bigger piece of this is they're trying to. They're. They're in bed with the Ellison, trying to buy out, you know, the entirety of Warner Brothers, which includes cnn, right? Like, which is a massive, massive news organization that they can now, potentially, from the background, control and puppeteer, right? Like, these are the little things like the Capcoms, like the evos, like the. The golf tournaments that they're owning that they're building up, like, oh, we're good. And then now, oh, we're also in the pockets of the Ellisons. And also we're the reason why they're able to buy out all this stuff, right? So this is. All of this is not for them to buy out EA and Capcom necessarily, right? This is just the smaller stuff to get to the end goal, which is complete propaganda as much as possible.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I want to pull out some super chats really quick. We have a lot of them that we're going to go through. But specifically we got from Clawmaster Spa
Greg Miller
over there said Greg, it's ETC. Are you drinking beers at 10:16 in the morning at your job? No, shut up. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Claw Master super chats. Oh, Jesus Christ. He's chugging.
Greg Miller
Hell yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah. Capcom doesn't need that Saudi money. The big difference between this and SNK is that SNK needed the money more than Capcom. I'm very afraid this will spread to take over Capcom. And that's actually a great point. I will predict in the next two years that they will buy Capcom. Like oh yeah, for sure. This is, this is what they do is that they get in there, they're like, oh, Evo. What's going on with Evo? Exactly 5%. 5%. Okay. Now we're just going to buy the entire thing or majority stake of it. Do you think that they're eventually going to just pick up the entirety of Capcom?
Greg Miller
No, but maybe it's just foolish naivete, you know what I mean? Like maybe it's just me hoping that they don't do that. It seems like they are, are for the most part diversifying their funds. Right. This is one that's just about profitability. They say it's not. You know, it is again like to get back into what we're talking about here. Like Savvy Games Group is the one to watch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right.
Greg Miller
In terms of like what they're up to really.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right.
Greg Miller
Subsidiaries, right. Scopely ESL Faceit Group, Steer Studios, Savvy Academy and then stakes in Hero Esports Embracer Group Take two Interactive. Again, these are where you start getting into the bigger names and it's like, like I think again, what are we trying to do in reality behind the scenes with this propaganda machine and with this games washing and it's putting your money in and I don't. It's what we go back to. What we're seeing time and time again is that you can't go into the video game market expecting double digit 30% return on investment. So this clearly isn't about the actual investment. So then it becomes a.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, like what is the.
Greg Miller
Does Capcom does buying Capcom when you. The goodwill. Does it do the thing or is it just a thing you can say and show and promote? I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, no, it's, it's to me it also is a very interesting one. Capcom because EA makes a lot more sense because you have the connection to sports. Yeah, right. Like, and I think that's the 99% of the reason why they bought that is that now they can go to every sporting event and be like, hey, like we're the guys that own EA and all of your fucking stuff. So we get to, you know, get access to exclusive access to all these people. Yeah, but Capcom, it's like, yeah, what is that end goal? Maybe it is the expansion to Japan. Is that like the end goal here is less of the American side of it is hey, we want to be have some control in Japan at least in terms of their pop culture. But I also want to pull up this one. This is from Aaron Lime. Super chatting and saying the Saudi Royal family owning 10% total stock in Capcom is so frustrating. They're the only funders in town because investors are chasing AI and own stock in so many other companies like Nintendo. Worried for Capcom Copper. That's also a good point. Capcom cup over there. That is it for our super chats about Saudi Arabia. Any final thoughts before we move on to another?
Greg Miller
Great. It sucks. The world sucks. I hate that. Every time we have to talk about the show, it sucks. This is supposed to be fun gaming news, but it's always shitty gaming news.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's fine. Let's go to story number two something Is this good news a little bit lighter? Yeah, yeah, for sure. Xbox just revealed Gaming Copilot is coming to current Saturday.
Greg Miller
This isn't good news at all.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Why? It's Gaming Copilot. It's fine. Don't worry about it. Current generation consoles later this year from Dustin Bailey at GamesRadar Plus Microsoft has announced that its Gaming Co Pilot AI Assistant, which has been available in beta on PC, mobile and the ROG Xbox Ally since last year, will be coming to current gen consoles in 2026. While you're on the second beer, how many beers can we get you through?
Greg Miller
You can take this one beer.
Roger McConville
How many bad stories do you have?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I got a few. I got a few. I'm excited to announce that later this year we will be bringing Gaming Copilot to the current generation consoles and we will continue to bring it to more services that players are playing. This from Sonali Yadav, Xbox's Gaming AI Partner Group Product Manager revealed at a gaming. At a gaming. Sorry. At a Game Developers Conference panel attended by GamesRadar Plus.
Greg Miller
Not as easy as it looks, is it Roger?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No, no, it is. I mean, especially when I take the little bit of beer. Beer sips. Presumably the current generation console simply means Xbox Series X and S. Though no specific platforms were called out in the announcement as it currently exists on other platforms. Gaming Copilot lets you ask guide like questions about the game you're currently playing. Microsoft's official site offers an example question like quote, can you remind me what materials I need to craft a sword In Minecraft? You can ask for game recommendations or you can play history or account details. Let me just back up on that. Hey everybody, you can fucking do that in the video game. In Minecraft, when you go to the crafting bench, it tells you what you fucking need. You don't need to ask an AI what to do when the game tells you what to do. That is quite literally the worst example of anything I've ever seen about AI and video game knowledge. That is the stupidest shit.
Roger McConville
But Roger, I just don't know how to do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If this was the original version of Minecraft on the PC that didn't show you that, but the console version shows
Greg Miller
you that I don't know how to do it or if you forgot when your Game Pass subscription is set to renew, can't click into your settings, huh? Not to mention this hey Xbox, when's my game or copilot, when's my Xbox game Pass subscription set to renew? They renew every 30 days. It'll say some dumb bullshit like that. It's not gonna answer the right thing. Do that in the stupid AI pal voice too, like the DJ on Spotify. Hey Greg, I'm glad you asked that question. Let me just set you up real quick though because Xbox Game Pass is the best thing to every 30 days. What are you fucking talking about?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Talking about. Let me finish off this fucking story before I just jump off the fucking cliff. I fucking has. Whatever gaming Copilot has been in beta for some time on non Xbox consoles without much wider buzz, positive or negative, in the gaming community. But that may change once the AI assistant reaches a wider audience on Xbox consoles. Either way, Microsoft appreciates the data from those who use the feature up into this beta. Quote, we've learned a lot in the past year and appreciate all of the feedback that we've gotten from the community. Yadav says yeah, thank you for giving us your data. And now we can use to train it to somehow bomb people in Palestine. Greg, how do you feel about this? Are you going to be using this Xbox gaming co op?
Greg Miller
Asha said as monetization and AI evolve and influence the future, this future, we will not chase short term efficiency or flood our ecosystem with with soulless AI slop. Games are always gonna be part of the art crap. It's just like I am not a smart man. I'M drinking bud heavies at 10:23 on a Monday morning. You know what I mean?
Roger McConville
To celebrate 31 6.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean that's good, that's good.
Greg Miller
But like, I just struggle so hard at what you're trying to fucking do here. This is so taking like. Well, when a. You're making up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This is.
Greg Miller
This goes back to what we always used to argue about on beyond and everything else. Like, will a grandmother understand the difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions? Like, that just isn't fucking happening. Yeah, that just isn't happening. And maybe it's the. So like what is the.02% of players who are turning on their Xbox and be like, how do I craft a sword in Minecraft? And it's like you're missing the basics of how to play this game. Which then tells me you are not playing this game. Which tells me you won't stick around even with the AI helping you. Right? It's like I fully believe that there are cool, helpful uses for AI. I have yet to see them for the most part when I watch her, not even the fucking the AI thing, but when I watch her and it's like so seamless to be like, do this, add it to that, call that thing, blah, blah. Like you're like, damn that actually that'd be a nice future. And I realize for that kind of future you gotta fucking baby step your way to death. But like we shouldn't be baby stepping on this because this just doesn't make any sense of. No one's gonna turn this shit on and use it this way.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And it's not like it's solving something that doesn't exist. Like walkthroughs exist. You know what I mean? Like it is such a. We are completely destroying the. By convenience, we're destroying our lives even more and more and more. Like it's so interesting that we have a phone and that has all of the information of the universe. We have people that are dedicating their entire lives to playing these video games, making incredible walkthroughs every single day. And then now a AI gaming co pilot is going to scrape all of that shit and then just do it wrong. Do it wrong and is going to put it on the console for the saints of convenience. Pull up your phone and look up a walkthrough and take five extra steps.
Greg Miller
When we were at ign, not you, but me in bear. Oh, when we were at ign, right? Like it was already. Dude, we got a chase. SEO, what are the questions when you Play a game for review. What are the questions you're thinking of so we can. And it is so fucking simple now to open your phone and talk into it. Yep. Hey Google, how do I do X, Y and Z? And then you get the foom. Here you go, you get to the link and now granted they're scraping that and putting that at the top too. But you're fighting the articles, the wikis, the whatevers to go do it. And I, and I think you know, as a PlayStation person that has covered it for so long, you go look at the launch of the PlayStation 5 and tip cards and fucking game center and like, dude, what a worthless endeavor. That wasn't worth your time. Nobody supported it. It's complete trash. I know that for the launch games you worked with developers to make and even that was like this. I'm playing bug snacks. I'm like, this just doesn't fucking matter.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't care.
Greg Miller
Like, because that stuff requires do that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McConville
And that stuff requires a full time position for someone to be working on.
Greg Miller
Importantly, I think it requires to do it right. Requires a person, like I just said that has played the game and knows it to give it to a developer. A developer doesn't know what you're going to get stuck on when they release the game. No matter how much you beta test, do alphas, whatever. When you release the game to the world, new problems, questions pop up all the time and what it is of how to do this. So it's like you can't predict this. I struggle to look at this and be like this is where it would not only be help. Maybe I don't struggle for the helpful part of playing a game. Be like, man, I keep losing to this boss. Hey Xbox, what am I doing wrong? Like that. But again that almost feels like I feel right now of like hey, Siri, put this on my calendar. And then she opens Apple. I'm like, I don't use that. I use Google. Cal, you shouldn't, don't even stop. And then they send the text that says all the garbled stuff. I said it's like we're so many degrees removed from being able to be like Xbox. I keep losing to this boss. What's going on?
Roger McConville
Yeah, especially the exit.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I can't find it.
Roger McConville
I was trying to find it to, to pull it up but someone pointed out that like one of the demos that they showed for it was like a like a them walking through of like oh yeah, this is a simple walkthrough of like a simple ship in this game that you can use. But it was like completely the wrong ship that they were like talking through and like trying to walk the player through. And when the in reality, the ship that they were actually like trying to get working was like a very complicated, more deep game thing.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McConville
And that's just where like this all starts to fall apart of like, why, like the implementation here isn't even giving us the promise that this thing is actually doing what you want it to. And then Greg, to bring. Bring it back to the question of like, why are they doing this?
Greg Miller
Well, I know why they're doing not
Roger McConville
for us because I'll bring up the. The Imran post from over. Over the weekend.
Greg Miller
Imran quote tweets this and say, wait, fuck. I just realized that this is so they can add the Xbox user base to Copilot active number users around GTA 6.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yup.
Greg Miller
So yeah, no, it's totally talking about how many people are using this real quick. Everybody keeps complaining. I'm sorry I set off your devices. Hey Siri, text mom. This is the police. Your child is dead. Send. Were you fast enough to stop it? Kids? Were you fast enough to stop it? Ah, I'm from the Bay. That's Northern Cab.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I am a big proponent of the PlayStation game Help. I wish that that was. They were able to figure out a way to actually do that in a real way. What they should have done and what all these companies should, instead of investing millions of dollars into AI that's clearly not going to work is should partner with an ign. You should partner with a game spot and be like, hey, let's build out. Exactly. Here's the team. You guys are already doing it ahead of time. Let's just build out the team. And you have a little IGN logo. Click the fuck.
Greg Miller
Correct.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That would be incredible.
Greg Miller
What would that be? That would be serving the customer. None of these places want to do that. The world we want to live in and talk about. I get one of my Instagram feeds or whatever is, you know, 80s vintage history. I don't know. And like, it comes to service often of the Nintendo helpline and they're being real fucking humans, Nintendo employed so that you could call and say, I can't do this in Zelda. What's wrong? And they go, well, did you get? And they walk you through the province like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like those videos are beautiful.
Greg Miller
That is serving the customer. And all people want to do right now is serve the shareholders. And that's all we give a about. And that's do this AI it's very clear that this isn't a great implementation of it. This. We aren't where we need to be with it. It isn't smart enough to shove it in there. So it can be another thing that pops up and on your PC, eats up your fucking whatever.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know.
Greg Miller
I don't know. PCs and then on Xbox just annoys the shit out of you. You never use it. You accidentally set it off all the time.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You have a. You have an lg, right? Right.
Greg Miller
I do this.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You got the update where it just starts. It just starts doing AI shit now?
Greg Miller
No, dude, no.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It just updated randomly and now I'm just. I'm talking to Lianza and then just. It's just like, you want to do things and it's just trying to do AI and it's like, just let me use the settings menu correctly. Like, why are you updating all this and just patch working all this garbage? It's incredible. It's incredible how bad technology is and how expensive if I.
Greg Miller
If, you know, if we were. If we did any of the stuff in any of these spaces, like, that would be my thing. Hey, everybody. It's the new tv. It's a tv.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's a tv.
Greg Miller
It has the apps you want.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
That's what Dell is doing. That's what Dell's doing. It really? That's what they said.
Greg Miller
Did they bring back the dude, you're into Del Kid yet?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know.
Greg Miller
They should.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Is it Del Kid?
Greg Miller
Fucking old.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't know about this. I will learn more about this. Delkin.
Greg Miller
You don't remember? Dude, you're getting a Dell. And then he got busted for a pot and they fired him. That sucks, dude. He was fucking rad. Kid was fucking rad. All right, There he is. Dude, you're getting it down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And he was. I mean, clearly he was smoking weed.
Greg Miller
I definitely don't like. I definitely don't like that. The second thumbnail is Fox News. That's bad. That makes me go, what is the dude the Utena Dale can't feel about Palestine right now? Because I'm sure I don't agree. I'm sure I don't fucking agree.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, whatever happened to him?
Greg Miller
Okay, yeah, but go. Scroll down. Why is Fox reporting on it if it doesn't end with He's a libtard. I'm not about it. All right? I'm not about it. Don't take. Take the. Dude, you're getting a Del kid from me right now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, Greg, I'm gonna learn more about the Del Kid. But before that, I think the audience should learn a little bit about our sponsors.

Greg Miller
Just when you think it's over, this
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
one is great and this was a great update that I saw right before we jumped in here. So this is a very long one. This is from Ethan Gotch over at Kotaku. This all came out literally right before we came out Here. So this is some great report reporting that's happening really fast. And Furious judge orders Subnautica 2 Studio CEO to be reinstated and gives him control over early access release. Wow. When I read that headline, I was like, I didn't know you could do that. I didn't know you could tell somebody to be like, hey, actually they need their job.
Greg Miller
What do you fucking do as an employee? As the rest of this guy walks in, you're like, I don't even fucking know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's incredible.
Greg Miller
Like wrestling.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's incredible. So it's a long one. Let's go through it really quick. A judge in the messy legal battle between the co founders of Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton have ordered the latter to reinstate CEO Ted Gill and give him control over Subnautica 2's early access release plans. The decision comes nearly nine months after sudden firings and conflicting claims put one of Steam's most wishlisted games in the middle of a complex lawsuit. Quote, judgment is entered in favor of Fortis, which represents the Unknown World's founders on its phase one claims. Wrote Vice chancellor Lori W. Will for the decision handed down in the Delaware chicanery court on March 16.
Greg Miller
Now you say that that sounds even more fake.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've only heard your canary once.
Roger McConville
It's also chance, I think. Yeah, you added a couple syllables in there, buddy.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I talked to Gatorade. You know what I mean?
Greg Miller
How many?
Roger McConville
How deep into that?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I need to get more.
Greg Miller
It'll make you read better.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was very happy with myself. I said chicator. I was like, I know that.
Greg Miller
Crushed it. Everybody thinks I'm a bad reader, huh?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I didn't know Chancery was a thing. Everybody Krafton breached the epa.
Greg Miller
Drinking.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
If I start drinking, then it's going to be chicanery. Every single sentence. Okay? Krafton breach the EPA by termina the key employees without valid cause and by improperly seizing operational control of Unknown Worlds as a result, the July 1, 2025 board resolution that saw Gill and others fired from the company is, quote, declared ineffective to the extent it infringes on Gill's operational control. Right. The judge has offered as ordered Krafton not to impede the reinstated CEO's authority over the early access launch of Subnautica 2 and to restore his access the Steam platform. Just as consequently the judge extended the period which within which the team can earn a $250 million payout under the terms of Unknown Worlds sale to Craft on the co founders, which includes Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire are now eligible to collect the bonus for performance of the studio up through September 15, 2026, and potentially even to extend the period beyond that date. Pretextual justifications for firing Unknown World's Leadership the publisher had originally claimed Gil and the other co founders were fired for failing to get Subnautica 2 ready for a timely launch. It later switched its argument that the co founders had unknowingly, unknowingly been working on other projects and tried to steal unauthorized material materials prior to their firing. The court rejected both claims.
Greg Miller
You gotta sip the coffee because it's so real, I know, so deep in this one you're in the bag.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Krafton's newly manufactured justifications for the terminations are pretextual, reads the court's decision. Cleveland and Maguire had taken on limited roles, but that was long known and accepted by Krafton. As for the data downloads, the former employees were acting to protect the studio's work product amid Krafton's takeover attempt. They kept the data confidential and promptly returned it. Krafton acquired Unknown Worlds in 2021 for a $500 million equity payout with up to $250 million in an additional earn out for the co founders if certain sales goals were met by the end of 2025. The earnout formula is highly leveraged. If Unknown World surpasses a revenue threshold of $69.8 million, Krafton must pay $3.12 for each additional dollar of revenue generated up to the $250 million cap, the decision reads. Skipping ahead, what remains to be seen is just when exactly Subnautica 2 will
Greg Miller
release it or I would never do it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Never.
Greg Miller
That would be my thing. I'm back in charge.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Fuck you all.
Greg Miller
We're working on this for a decade. Bring me back to court.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Continuously going down there and whether it will sell well enough to hit that earn out threshold, I will let you guys know that game will probably hit that threshold. That game is going to be huge. That is just me saying that litigation from the lawsuit pertaining to damages from the firings remains pending. The court will still have to decide as part of Phase two what monetary damages, if any, have resulted from the entire chaotic affair. Quote Krafton puts players at the heart of every decision and that will never change the public for Kotaku in an emailed statement.
Greg Miller
We'll fuck over the creators, but never the player.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Over the past several months, Krafton and Unknown Worlds team have worked together tirelessly to strengthen the game and prepare it for an early access release, with a continued focus on delivering the best possible experience for the Subnautica community. We look forward to pushing out the newly updated version as soon as possible. It continued. While we respectfully disagree with today's ruling, we are evaluating our options as we determine our path forward. Today's ruling does not resolve the former executive's claim for damages or an earn out to related to Subnautica 2 with further litigation pending. In the meantime, Krafton immediately focus Immediate focus remains unchanged. Delivering the best possible game to Subnautica fans Was the chatgpt thing Just fucking
Greg Miller
clowns is what it is. Yeah, you're talking about over on Kotaku, Zach has the article and then a BSE quote tweeted it with this is crazy and it's all these clips from the actual filings, right? Meanwhile, Kim who's over at Krafton Meanwhile Kim sought ChatGPT's counsel on how to proceed if Krafton failed to reach a deal with Unknown Worlds on the earnout. The AI chatbot prepared a quote response strategy to a no deal scenario which Kim shared with you. The strategy included a pressure and leverage package and implementation implementation roadmap by scenario. Then there's another one right at ChatGPT suggestion Kim forced an internal task force formed an internal task force dubbed Project X. The task force mandate was to either negotiate a deal on the earn out or take or execute a takeover of Unknown Worlds. Over the next month, Crafted filed most of ChatGPT's recommendations. We are fucked.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Idiots.
Greg Miller
Fucking morons.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I hope, I hope they have to pay that $250 million.
Greg Miller
Still, it's definitely one of those where like we're not there, we don't know the full story X, Y and Z. I I stands with what I've read and how this whole I stayed with the courts. Good job. Give it back to the people, the creators. Whatever the Crafton was up to, whatever the they were trying to do here and what the the chicanery they were trying to pull.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Right?
Greg Miller
Fuck them like yeah go. Baird has this up from PC gaming crafting CEO allegedly asked Chad GPT to help him find a way out of the paying the Subnautica 2 developers their bonuses because he wanted to avoid the quote unquote professional embarrassment of being seen as quote unquote a pushover. Yeah, this was congratulations. This embarrassment is much worse of now. The fact you asked a goddamn robot how to do all this, that is
Roger McConville
often wrong and in this case was also wrong.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Incredible stuff.
Greg Miller
But plug it into my Xbox. That's what I want. Plug it all into my Xbox so it can tell Me and then tell
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
it how to, how to craft a sword in Minecraft. Yeah. This is just a hilarious. And I'm very, I'm very happy that it came down like this because I feel like a lot of the times we see the court rulings and they're very rarely this cut and dry. Right, sure. Like it, it is usually like oh well this person did this and it's like kind of a muddied situation where we're like talking through it all. This is just very clearly like no, you craft on, you try to dodge.
Greg Miller
You didn't want to pay him completely didn't want to pay fucking worth and now you got fucked. Good job.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, exactly. And even, even to the, the charge of them saying like oh, they took the confidential documents which I think usually ends up in a lot of these court cases to be like okay, like that is the technicality that they can get, get them, get them on. But no, it's like oh no, they took it but they also just held it for the right reasons.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I appreciated that the chicanery court over here, they said that that was, that that was okay to do. But yeah, no, I'm sure this is not done. Again as they said, this is going to be a phase two. They're going to continue to, to litigate and figure this out and will this game ever come out in a timely manner? We will see. But I mean I'm sure he and also the rest of the team, they want that $250 million devs go get paid.
Greg Miller
You deserve it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
This game is going to be huge. Crafted you for people you craft on. Let's go.
Greg Miller
You gotta appreciate how Budweiser puts the little crown inside their tab. I love that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, they don't cut corners. They do not.
Greg Miller
Luckily they're all American owned,
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
are they not?
Greg Miller
They sold out to Mbev a couple.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I didn't know that.
Greg Miller
Probably a long time ago now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Shit, that's crazy. Story number four. Some also. I guess that last story was kind of good news. Is not good news. Warner Brothers Montreal reportedly hit with staff cuts. Some Sophie McEvoy over at Gameindustry Biz, several Warner Brothers Montreal developers are reporting that they have been laid off. While there's been no formal confirmation of the cuts as yet, several former WB developers from across all disciplines have announced on LinkedIn that they are now looking for work. Most report they finished on Friday 13th March. If true, it aligns with comments made by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos who recently said the deal under the Paramount outbid, which. Sorry. Under which Paramount outbid his firm for control of Warner Brothers, including its storied gaming division would be quote, quote dependent on a lot of cost cutting. This is thanks to games industry biz. Warner Brothers has of course been struggling with its games industry for some time. In a 2025 Q1 earnings report, the company reported a 48% decrease in games revenue due to no new releases. The followed that followed the cancellation of a planned expansion for Hogwarts Legacy, layoffs of Rock, layoffs at Rocksteady after Suicide Squad flopped and the cancellation of Monolith Production's Wonder Woman game and the shutdown of Brawler Multiverses. In its most recent earnings report, Warner Brothers discovery said 2025 has a significant year, but made little mention of its gaming business beyond claims that it's quote rebuilding its video game pipeline following its acquisition by Paramount. Skydance, its full studio segment, which includes gaming, saw revenue tumble 14% year on year. We've reached out to WB Games for comments.
Greg Miller
A big part of rebuilding the pipeline is just destroying, raising, trashing the old pipeline to where you get down. We're just making Hogwarts. We have Hogwarts. We got our dc, we got Lego. Those are our big ten poles. Right. And then everything else just, just gone.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Y.
Greg Miller
Just gone.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I, I am very interested in the claim over here. I mean it makes sense. I was thinking the same thing of the. They're about to be bought up by Paramount, right? So it's like what is how. What the connection is there? Like was this already something that was in the works for a while or what is going on here? I don't necessarily fully believe that it's just because they got bought up by Paramount because it's still in the in works and everything. But yeah, I also just know that Warner Brothers does not know what the they're doing with their gaming division. Like 100% on top of that obvious. And then you think that this is the.
Greg Miller
The bad.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like wait a year from now.
Greg Miller
Wait till Paramount gets in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, Paramount gets in there. It's all city like you are. They're closing down half of these studios. If, if even that they might just shut it all down and they might just put in Paramount people and just make. They don't know what the fuck they're doing over there. It's sad, it's scary and it's sad because Arkham is there.
Greg Miller
Can I get bold with you?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, tell me.
Greg Miller
Say something you're not going to want to hear. If I was to Buy Warner Brothers tomorrow and throw down my money. I think closing all the studios is the right move.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Move.
Greg Miller
I think if you aren't committed and you don't have a team and you don't have a leader, there's no sense stringing all these developers along to make middling games.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
And I think that again, I know there has been lots of misses, but I will say lots of hits with the Marvel game strategy. But I still say that's the way to go. Where you go. Guess what, everybody. We are getting out of owning developers. It just doesn't make financial sense. We have to keep all these people on for years. Projects get canceled. Da, da, da, da. And instead go. We know that we have a war chest of IP here. And again, I'm speaking from DC Comics, but Warner Brothers toss in Harry Potter, toss in Lego, toss in everything Warner Brothers has, including their movies. Yada, yada, yada. We are picking Person X to lead and be the CEO of the new WB games. And that means that they are then building a team that is then going out to developers big and small to find the right places.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Like Disney.
Greg Miller
The right developers. Exactly. It's Disney. It's Marvel. Exactly. Get in there and do it. And we're. Work with your Mike B. Work with your again. It would break my heart to cut loose Rock Steady. But I mean, like, work with a studio like that. Maybe even keep one around or what. I don't know if that makes sense. But yeah, it's that idea of like, we know that there's talented studios out there, but when you get into this of like Rocksteady and WB owning them, and it's like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, I agree with you. Especially when it comes to like WB Montreal. Right. Like. But like, when I think about Rock Steady, that still has. That's a name. That's a name people know they can. They continuously connect Arkham with Rocksteady. And if Rocksteady were to create an Arkham game, specifically that combo. That's a hit right there. And also Avalanche. Avalanche or Avalanche. Avalanche. I always mix that Avalanche software. Okay, gotcha. Yeah. Avalanche with Harry Potter. I mean that those two. You would keep everything else. It's like, yeah, you. You have to cut. Or you have to figure out some type of identity really fast. But yeah, I'm. Exactly. Especially after having a conversation with Blessing on Friday about Avatar, the Avatar fighting game.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Seeing what. But I guess connection there. Paramount, what they were able to do with that ip, send it over to a new studio that knows what the fuck they're doing that is able to quickly, very fast take an IP that's beloved and make something very special that the audience and also the people around Fighting Games are excited about. Like, that's what you gotta be doing more of. Like that. That is the blueprint right there. And I just don't. You need someone nimble, you need someone fast. You need someone that understands video games. And I don't have any faith in Warner Brothers right now for gaming. I have zero faith with what Skydig did with gaming and what they've been doing. Right? So now we're not excited for this Captain America, whatever it is. Like, they're gonna. What's gonna happen is that Paramount's gonna come in, they're going to cut Warner Brothers Montreal. They're going to do exactly probably what I just said. They're probably going to keep two of them on and they're just going to take the Sky Dance people and put them at the top of the Warner Brothers thing. And they're not gonna know what the fuck they're doing. And then somehow a miracle like the Avatar Game sneaks through somehow. You know, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Shirley, last Ronin, apparently is happening. Right? Like.
Greg Miller
Like, yeah, you're gonna.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Apparently. We'll say Poe.
Greg Miller
Hit me up my. You know, if you're new around here, my best friend from high school who of course is a professor at a college, like, he's an adult. He plays video games here and there. And yeah, he sent me a thing a couple weeks ago that was like, is this real? And it was some whatever Instagram account that was talking about that. And I was like, yes. Yeah. But like, we haven't heard anything in three years or whatever. Yeah, four years, two years, whatever realm. Oh, yeah, Vaporway. You keep brethren, of course, of course. Yeah, we love you, Ed Boon.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We will see what happens there. But Greg got some bad news. Get some good news.
Greg Miller
Okay, good news.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Let's get some good news really quick before we go over to Weedus. In an industry beset by layoffs and crunch, Japanese publisher Atlas is raising salaries and working to reduce fixed overtime. You never see a gaming.
Greg Miller
Getting a very important phone call, I assume. What's up, everybody? It's Andy Cortez live on Kind of Funny Games Daily. Hello, Andy. Oh, Greg.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hey.
Greg Miller
Lots of big news coming up in
Roger McConville
the games industry right now.
Greg Miller
Lots of huge stuff happening left and right. However, there is DLC out now for the King is watching. Everybody's favorite 2025. Is that a wee news game? New DLC? No, sorry. Go no, Roger didn't do his job. It's not in we do anymore. Okay. Okay. Gotcha. Hey, got you. Love the work, guys. Thank you. You don't sound that sick.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, you sound pretty good.
Greg Miller
Oh, well, all right. That's how I can go.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
He interrupts the show. Could have just went in the doc and just added it, you know what I mean?
Greg Miller
But he's going to. I don't know where the dock is. Because he's one of those type.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Greg Miller
The Snowbike mics, where I pin everything to the channel. I gotta pin notes to their shirts when they go out. Like, he's here to see this game, let him in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know, he's with us. Yesterday we learned of layoffs at Warner Brothers Montreal, the latest in an unbearably long list of bad games industry news in recent months. Today, for a change, we have positive bit of industry news, this time coming from Japanese publisher Atlus via Automaton. We've taken a look at Atlas, at Atlas's latest press release, which focuses on efforts to, quote, foster the creativity and improve the productivity of each and every employee. The Persona developer has been enjoying a fair amount of success in recent years. And following giants like Sega and Capcom, a bit more of that money will begin to trickle down to the employees doing the hard work. Skipping over to the actual meat of it, the quote, base salary increase will raise the starting salary for new graduates from 300,000 yen to 330,000 yen, with the average annual income which, which full time and contract employees get increasing by 15% as well. Moreover, fixed overtime hours are going down from 30 to 20, which is quite substantial reduction. So that's exciting. Yeah, it's nice to have go from you know, an awful fucking news story to something good happening again.
Greg Miller
Someone actually taking care of their developers, rewarding them for their hard work. What a nice thing. Rather than, hey, great job of Battlefield 6. You're all fucking laid off.
Roger McConville
Yeah, AI will replace you now.
Greg Miller
Yeah, we don't need you. AI's here.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, if EA were to kind of foster their developers instead of laying them off, that would be big news. But if I was looking for something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go?
Greg Miller
You'd go to our last segment, the Wii News Channel, where we share all the tiny news items you need to know about.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Got a lot of Wii news, everybody, do we? Yeah, we do.
Greg Miller
I never know when it's a joke or not, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Pokemon Pickopia update coming, bringing improvements and bug fixes, you can go over to ign. Tom, Phil, a great write up breaking down all the little bug fixes. So if you've been walking into something and you're like, oh my God, is this me or is this the game? Check it out. It might be the game from Pocket.
Greg Miller
Remember we're talking about Pokemon Pocopia right after this. I'm very, very excited for this episode. Of course we have Roger finally coming in to talk about it. Of course we have me and Joey coming to talk about where we've been. But we also have Jenny from Wholesome Games coming in who's been playing announcement.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Awesome. Very excited to talk about it. Brought my switch from Pocket. Pocket gamer, pocket pocketgamer P is meta planning layoffs that could affect 20% of workforce. So keep a lookout for that. Slate Spire 2 has sold over 3 million copies so far. Shout out to them.
Greg Miller
Yeah. Incredible numbers for them.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah. Very, very excited to check that out.
Greg Miller
If only any of us cared about that kind of game, you know?
Roger McConville
Yeah.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, for sure. Yeah.
Greg Miller
No one.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
No one likes card games at all here.
Greg Miller
Nope. Terrible.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Via Shinobi on Blue Sky. Lego Batman, the Legacy of the Dark Knight. Now launching a week earlier on May 22nd. Hell yeah. Via the PlayStation Blog. Upgraded PSSR. Rolling out to Silent Hill F, Monster Hunter wilds, Final Fantasy 7, Rebirth and Crimson Desert and more. And talking about PS5 Pro. Cyberpunk is getting a PS5 Pro update in the near future. That's from Shinobi. From BS from Noble on BS he points out that sonic racing, cross worlds, free character updates are revealed. We get Red from eight. You know Red?
Greg Miller
No.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Angry Bird. Goro Majiba.
Greg Miller
Captain Red's an Angry Bird?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, he's the Angry Bird. He's the Angry Bird.
Greg Miller
Why would you put that in there? Oh, he's got legs.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Weird.
Greg Miller
I always remember him just being like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, no, this is like the movie version of him. Jason.
Greg Miller
There's a movie?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yes, too. There's the third one.
Greg Miller
Jason Bateman's in it.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, he's Jason Bateman.
Greg Miller
How do we feel about Jason Bateman?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I. I like him. Why? Is some wrong.
Greg Miller
No, I, I.
Roger McConville
Fun actor.
Greg Miller
I obviously loved him in Teen Wolf too.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Of course.
Greg Miller
Obviously loved him in Hogan's Family.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hitchcock.
Greg Miller
I don't remember him from that. Okay, that was. That was a Will Smith. Charlize Their Own joint. All right. But of course, Ozark, he was great in. You know what I mean? Stranger. He was great in. And now we started watching DTF St. Louis. Yeah. You know, I like it. Get there too. But then he's also in. It's a weird juxtaposition of him talking about and then he's also in Zootopia. And Ben loves Zootopia, so watching that. But it's. I also remember Arrested Development. Loved him in Arrested Development. But then if you remember during that Arrest Development press tour when they came back and the old. The mom who's the older woman.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Started talking about how bad Jeffrey was on set. And then they got a big fight and Jason tried to shut it down awkwardly. I've never forgiven him for that. Then it's kind of like going to the real Jason Bateman. And do I need to be worried about making Jason baby? Because I can't see him the same once he shut her down.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah. How's dtf? Is it good?
Greg Miller
Yeah, I'm enjoying. We're only one episode in, but yeah, that's good.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
He's got David harbor in it too. Which we already know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, exactly.
Greg Miller
I listen that entire album for him. Yo, where's the bag of dildos? I listen to that from that OG story.
Roger McConville
I, I, I keep my anger towards Jeffrey Tambor.
Greg Miller
Of course.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McConville
Don't get me wrong, who went to my high school.
Greg Miller
Oh, weirdly enough, just walked by. Same class as you, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Roger McConville
Same graduating year.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yep. Goro Majima, Captain Majima April 20 and ARL May 24. I don't know what the. Bro Making up bro. I don't know what's going on there. From Gamatsu Fate slash Extra record delayed to an unannounced date and publisher is changed from Bandai Namco. So Bandana will not be publishing that game. And they don't have a release date for that one, so that's a weird one. Shout out to that one. This is from Help from Greg.
Greg Miller
Yeah, that's right. I put this in at the very end there. While we've been live, of course. McKenna Grace, you all know her from Ghostbusters, went to the Oscars and became the first person ever to open Pokemon cards on the red carpet and in her seat. But if you scroll down, Barrett, if you can show it, should have linked directly to it in the comments. Sorry. Click on the comments. I put up a comment on this post telling her to come rip packs and talk Ghostbusters on kind of funny vids to click the comment button.
Roger McConville
It's not gonna let me because I'm not logged in.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Got it.
Greg Miller
Okay, well, everybody go there. Since you follow me on Instagram. Gay over Greggy. Go there. Click on that. And then not only heart it, because everybody's hearting it on my Instagram, but leave a comment. Be like, oh, you totally should. Because she will McKenna Grace. A real one. All right, because when I put up the photos for Afterlife of baby Benny there, and I mean, like, he was out. Like he was like five weeks old when we took him to Afterlife. Right. She commented on that. And so I. We. We've run in the same circle. She does the Ghostbuster fan events all the time. She's hanging out with the. Yes. Have some podcast people. I've done the thing where I've emailed the manager before, but clearly the way I need to break in is through traditional social media.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, I'm sure the manager would love that.
Greg Miller
You. They'll send to this clip of me. Three beers down, 10:58.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I gotta go on this random podcast. And that is the end of Wii News. Incredible stuff. And I just like. You can just say anybody's from Ghostbusters. I'd fucking believe you. You know what I mean?
Greg Miller
Like, what do you mean, anybody? She's the star of the last two movies. She's Phoebe Spangled. What? She's Phoebe Spangler. The movies revolve around her, bro.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
We got a bunch of super chats. Let's get through them. Immersion Fragrances said, Spacetime Dave says, why
Greg Miller
is Ben drinking then? Says Greg. Well, you sound like the drunk one. Not me. I sound right as rain. Don't bring up Garaka in the chat. Andy Cortez. I got things to say.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Immersion Fragrances says, had an emergency abendectomy yesterday and I'm going to be on bed rest for the next two weeks. Thanks in advance for keeping me entertained all day. Shout out to you. Hope you're feeling better. Yeah. Melodic Quest Super Chats 316. It says, Chug those beards, you coward.
Greg Miller
I chugged one already. Oh, wow. Then I had a second one. Now I'm on Rogers. Let me check.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, no.
Greg Miller
You want one?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, no. You brought these from home?
Greg Miller
No, I went to the liquor store, bought them. They have so many Beers bought at 9:30. Well, yeah, but they're not.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
They're not.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean? I'm gonna be authentic to the bit here. You know what I mean? I gotta have that. Don't bring up what he was drinking. Miller lied to the end of it. I'm aware. Steve Wiser's Budweiser is the king of beer.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Cameron asks and super chats about us at Pax East.
Greg Miller
We doing anything there no, we're not doing anything at PAX east unless they decide to send us there.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I would love to go. Anybody? Scorpion Brew.
Greg Miller
I need a games. Do you think that are showing at PAX east you could go host the panel for also is it Pax east soon?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I mean Splinter Cell. Where Splinter Cell.
Greg Miller
The well known Splinter Cell panel is coming up.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Scorpion, shout out to you. Hopefully we can get you that great pick me up today. Cody super chatting and said shout out to my best friend of nearly 19 years, Bandit. Spending our last few hours together relaxing with each other before he crosses the rainbow bridge. Happy to experience another nice and sunny day.
Greg Miller
You are a good dog, man.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Shout out to you both. That's so beautiful. I'm just a Billy super chats and says random but just shout out to Greg for knowing about LA Russell.
Greg Miller
Oh, the Russell's awesome. Do you really not? Oh, oh. Are you serious?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I don't. Am I maybe. I do know he's a Bay Area rapper.
Greg Miller
He is blowing up right now. He did the super bowl pre show. No, like this is for. This is legit. One of those times I could turn you on. Okay. Yeah. I feel bad today. I'm from the Bay. Okay. That's Northern Cat. Oh, I see.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, no.
Greg Miller
I have seen this guy. Yeah, he's been like blowing up in my backyard. I just didn't know his name. I didn't know something you ain't seen before.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Hell yeah. That was really cool.
Greg Miller
One of my dreams is to get him to come in and wrap my entrance to just really piss off Tim.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Oh, that'd be so fucking.
Greg Miller
Because I'll just keep saying I'm from the back, you know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
All right, we got a bunch more super chats. I'm gonna do like three or four more really quick. Andrew Button just bought myself a PS5 Pro. Thank you. Tax return. Very excited to see Crimson Desert reviews this week. Happy 316 boys. Sean Spinger says, why can't we get good investing in video game companies like kfgd? Investing in small indie companies, becoming a developer also.
Greg Miller
That's a great question.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I mean the fact of the matter is that kind of funny Games Daily or kind of funny I should say is happy making a little bit of profit. And so we could take that little bit of profit and hope for a bigger profit. But we're like we don't want that. We don't want to worry about that. No, thank you.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And also we like supporting dubs the way we can by giving them.
Greg Miller
Oh sure. But I mean it's a conversation over the last 11 years, it's come up a few different times, like, hey, it
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
was a cool game.
Greg Miller
What if we got into development? What if we did this? A lot of indie development, we hear these budgets and you think, oh, they need a million dollars. They need $500,000. They really don't. It really is. Do you have 20, 30, 50? And it's like, we could. But then if something. It's what I always talk about, like, to be clear and be serious for a second, forget about the beers. It is the idea that, like, you know, every decision that Tim, Nick and I make is about you. Roger, it's about you. Barrett, it's about Kevin. It's about, like, how do we make this sustainable and keep it rolling? And so. So we are not at a place where I want to roll the dice and gamble on, well, if this video game does huge, great, but if it tanks, then, oof. You know, we're struggling to the point we can't order pizzas or not even struggling. But making it by that. If one of the litany of unforeseen things that pop up in our lives all the fucking time happens, like, I'm just not going to worry about that.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Well, if you ever invest in Splinter Cell, maybe you can help with that.
Greg Miller
Why wouldn't I do it in a profitable video game? A video game people want.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Blacklist made money.
Greg Miller
They made a show about that and nobody ever came out to watch it. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I did and it was great. And you guys up by not watching him. There will be one more season and they will cancel it. AI copilot. Sorry, System Oppie. AI co pilot was probably in the works for a while. Do you think Phil was blocking it and he was anti AI so he was pushed out? I don't think so.
Greg Miller
I don't think.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I think that's. I'm. You think was pushed out because he was.
Greg Miller
No. This is probably a on the list of reasons that like Phil's. I probably. Phil wanted to retire.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
You know what I mean? It does sound like he actually wanted out. And I'd imagine it was the thing of like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Cool.
Greg Miller
I see the writing on the wall here of where we're going.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay. And then we have two more. Samson XP says late B day tax. Spent the weekend playing Magic and Pokemon. Can't wait for birthday tax. Wait to birthday tax for my cat Misty on Greg's birthday again next month. Hell yeah.
Greg Miller
Happy birthday, Misty.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
And then a final one from Mental Gear Gaming. Yo, kf. I know you guys get this all the time, but it's my first time in SF starting out Walking journey. On a walking journey at the Nintendo Store. But any other suggestions? Got anything come to mind really quick?
Greg Miller
Oh, my God. I mean, we've talked about this. There's lots of Greg ways about this, even though they're probably hard to find. But of course I would say yeah, okay. Nintendo Store for real. Do that. Then of course, Square Pie guys on beach street, not the Soma location because that's kind of not a great area. Beach Street's down in Ghirardelli Square. Gorgeous. You have the bay there. Catch an Alcatraz cruise. You don't have to go to the island. I don't have to book that way out, but do that. Go under the bridge. Have a great time there. Ocean beach is always lovely. Gonna be colder than you think. While you're out there. Go to Hookfish. Dynamite, Dynamite Pokey burritos. That's what you want. Get an Andytown coffee. Get the Andytown breakfast sandwich. A lot of things I'll tell you is about eating because I'm fat. You could watch walk Ocean beach there on the wall. Oh, the zoo's there. It's not great. It's not a great zoo, but it's there and it's awesome. And Gary Wood is there all the time, so you could find him.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Yeah, you'll find. Find them. Andy said in the chat. Pie punks. Japan Town.
Greg Miller
Pie Punks. Yes, of course. A great. Another great pizza place down there. Ramen. Yeah.
Roger McConville
Exploring Japan Town as well also. Yeah. Like check out the. The Castro area. A lot of great places to drink. I was trying to. Roger, did we ever take you to like the. The like Martunis? That's the place that I'm. Great place. But it's also live, right?
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah.
Roger McConville
With like a person playing piano. So that's always a fun vibe. And then.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Roger McConville
Ocean beach actually probably with the heat wave that we're about to have.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Roger McConville
It's actually probably going to be pretty nice. And I always recommend checking out the. The bath houses. San Francisco history.
Greg Miller
Yeah, of course. Building a bridge. Do that. If you have. If a car the time. Mere woods is lovely.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Beautiful. Shout out to that.
Greg Miller
Shout out to everybody who doing work right now in this McKenna Grace Instagram post. Thank you so much.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I was there.
Greg Miller
I see you. I said you were the first one I saw. Usually my enemy. Today you're my friend.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
It's because the beers, bro.
Greg Miller
Finish that. Kill it. Spitting it. Drinking. Yeah. Roger from the bank roll call.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I hate. I hate it. Missing link. Oh, this is yurrong, by the way.
Greg Miller
We're in Yurrong now.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Okay, cool. It says Jason Sudeikis. What?
Greg Miller
What a great transition.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I'm sorry. I really wanted to read this one.
Greg Miller
We've.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Jason Sudeikis plays Red Angry Birds movies, not Jason Bateman.
Greg Miller
Okay, fair.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
So I was just completely off of that one. But I mean, you know, Jason, Jason. You know what I mean? You know the vibes, everybody.
Greg Miller
Years and years and years and years and years and years and years ago, Mike Drucker, after he left IGN, went and wrote for the ESPYs, I want to say, okay, and he ran into Jason Sudeikis there. And Jason. And he mentioned that he's been from ign and he's like, oh my God, tell them how much I loved their uncharted review. And it was me.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Shout Out Kebab says ARL is the lead girl from the Pollo Puyo franchise.
Greg Miller
Listen, we don't. Okay, first off, Pollo. Pollo doesn't need a lead girl. It's just I have been.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
I've been saying this for years, man. It's just such a weak video game comparatively. You cannot say X Tetris that, bro. Tetris versus X Chess like that. You know what I mean? Like, clearly one is superior.
Roger McConville
On the other side of it, though, does Tetris need a mascot?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Tetris does the T block. It's the T block. Yeah, or the SB block.
Roger McConville
But how do we make the T block a cute anime character?
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Ah, we can. I'm sure that exists, but I'm sure there's a lot of floor.
Greg Miller
I'll go to Pornhub right now. I'll find you the T block.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
Corey Cudney says a little. Cool. Missed. Missed. We news. Jeff Kaplan did an unannounced 11 hour stream playing the game. They just announced Legend of California over the weekend, testing bugs and answering questions. See, I did see a news article there. I thought that was like old. So that actually makes a lot of sense. So thank you. The Corey Cudney. Greg has been a great episode. We're a little drunk and we're gonna roll right into.
Greg Miller
You can't be a little drunk. You had two sicks.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.
You know. I'm a light. B. I'm a light be it. Wait, I'm a lightw.
Greg Miller
A light be he is everybody.
Blessing Adeoye Jr.

The show jumps between laughter (sometimes at the absurdity of the news) and exasperation over industry corruption, exploitation, and “dumb” tech moves.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in the politics and dynamics shaping gaming in 2026—from Saudi Arabia’s shadow over beloved publishers, to the pitfalls of corporate AI excess, to the hope of actual developer advocacy. If you want sharp, funny critique of not only gaming but the global forces shaping the industry, this KFGD delivers hard truths and hard laughs, with plenty of quotable one-liners and inside jokes.

— Blessing Adeoye Jr. (18:27)

— Greg Miller (43:18)
“Someone actually taking care of their developers, rewarding them for their hard work. What a nice thing. Rather than, ‘hey, great job on Battlefield 6. You’re all fucking laid off.’”
