Andy Cortez
Bless. Good morning.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Good morning, Andy. How are you doing?
Andy Cortez
Pretty uneventful morning.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Not much has been going on this morning.
Andy Cortez
Totally chill, kind of chill, laid back, just relaxing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Everything working the way it's supposed to, everything functioning. We're getting a start to this day about an hour late because, let me tell you, technology is not working the way that we want technology to work. But shout out to Kevin and Roger for getting things glued together, getting us into the streaming room, because the main studio is under turmoil right now as Kevin's figuring it out.
Andy Cortez
The roof is caving in. It's a bad. It's a bad scene. Then we came in here and then we're like, oh, the roof uncaved. So let's get back out there. And then the roof caved in again. It's just a whole.
Greg Miller
Just to be clear, the roof has not literally caved in because there will be a Reddit thread of, like, what happens?
Andy Cortez
Oh, for sure, for sure. And they'd be like, I told you, you should have left San Francisco.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You should have got out of there. Well, let's not waste any time. We got a whole lot to talk. Like Sony striking a strategic partnership with Bandai Namco. Fallen Feathers seems to be the next big souls like hit. And Battlefield 6 gets a big reveal trailer. We'll have all this and more because this is kind of Funny Games Daily. Each and every weekday, we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about live on YouTube, Twitch and all podcast services around. I'm scared to actually do anything because I don't want to break anything.
Andy Cortez
We can snap it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Snap. All right, cool.
Andy Cortez
Podcast services live.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Man, I feel like I'm bad. I feel like I'm back in 2007. You ever do, like, the, like, the, like the Snap era in hip hop, you know what I mean? Oh, like a lean with A rock with it type Rod. You don't know about that.
Andy Cortez
I don't know about that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Around.
Andy Cortez
I don't know about it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know about lean with it, rock with it.
Andy Cortez
I know that, but I didn't know they were snapping. I don't know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, it was like.
Andy Cortez
No, I didn't know that. No.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow.
Andy Cortez
2007.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, like 0607.
Andy Cortez
Let's see.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
A lot of people, we're doing a lot of dances that involve snap.
Andy Cortez
Plus, I was in a. I was in a touring rock band. Okay. We did like four shows.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Did you open for My Chemical Romance?
Andy Cortez
No, we opened for a band called Boys Like Girls one time, though.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, let me. Isn't that a song?
Andy Cortez
They. They were fairly popular and then they kind of just fell off hard and their manager was real mad at us.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Who sang the song. Boys Don't Like Girls? No.
Andy Cortez
Good Charlotte.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Good Charlotte. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My sister. When I. When I moved to Nigeria for a few years, my sister had made me like a goodbye mixtape. And like on that mixtape was that song. And like, I had that on repeat all the time. It was a great song.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, it is. Should I be looking at you or.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't know, I'm. My reflex is to look over. You're like two stations away, but my reflex is to look at you.
Andy Cortez
Got a crick in my neck too. I gotta.
Greg Miller
You want me to get that?
Andy Cortez
I gotta. I. I don't. I think I just slept Wrong again. Maybe I did get whiplash from like, from my car wreck. Like maybe like the one that happened.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like three weeks ago.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, Like I. I mean, it's never fully gotten better.
Greg Miller
I didn't even know about this.
Andy Cortez
Should have looked into it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Hit by a car.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, a couple weeks ago.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You missed this.
Greg Miller
No, I completely missed it.
Andy Cortez
Oh, you may have been gone.
Greg Miller
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Oh, what happened? Gone. He hit me from behind.
Greg Miller
Oh, man.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm sorry. It's okay.
Andy Cortez
It's okay. Thank you.
Greg Miller
You want me to fix it?
Blessing Adioye Jr.

Andy Cortez
I don't know what that means.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like post. He did look like he was going to slap us. It did.
Andy Cortez
Yeah. From far away.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, from far away. But he had like a smile as.
Andy Cortez
If he has a range. Attack.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The range. Like a fantastic. Mr. Fantastic move from Marvel Rivals. If you're a kind of funny member or. I already talked about that. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today. We're brought to you by Mood in Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have five stories today. Baker.
Andy Cortez
That'S pissing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Starting with our number one. Sony strikes a strategic partnership with Bandai Namco. I'm pulling from Vicky Blake at IGN. Sony has acquired a 2.5 stake, 2.5% stake in Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco. Sony said the 16 million share acquisition forms part of a broader strategic partnership with Bandai Namco and will focus on expanding the fan community for IP such as anime and manga around the world and strengthening engagement. That's a quote. Sony said it has, quote, historically collaborated on various projects in the fields such as games, anime and music with Bandai Namco and plans to extend this collaboration to a broader range of areas. While not explicitly addressed in the announcement. Gaming. Gaming forms a substantial part of both companies. And it's hard to imagine a world where FromSoftware's gargantuan Elden ring, which Bandai Namco publishes, isn't expanded further. After all, Sony is already the largest shareholder in FromSoft's parent company, Kadokawa, and an Elden Ring movie is already in development.
Andy Cortez
Let's mend some Fences bless. I don't know if there are fences that need to be mended.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I was going to say what. What fences have.
Andy Cortez
The fact that, you know, there's no fucking Demon souls remake on PC. The fact that there's no bloodborne remaster. There's. The offenses need to be mended, in my opinion, whether they know it or not.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know, demon souls and bloodborne, you know, big Bandai Namco ip.
Andy Cortez
Whether. I mean, just, you know, whether they know it or not, I need them to just become more friends. Right. We already talked about the Kadokawa thing seven months ago and how from software is like, you know, obviously expanding into different areas.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know what this is to me?
Andy Cortez
It's going to be so weird to see Bandai Namco on the Elden Ring credits, by the way. Like in the beginning, you know, like.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, yeah, everyone thought of it.
Andy Cortez
You know what I mean? Like, will we see an association with Bandai Namco?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It'll be Alex Garland and like, you know, you know, movie the flash of.
Andy Cortez
White in the fucking black.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And then Bandai Namco right after it.
Andy Cortez
Was like flashbang of white screen.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What this is, is this is a scenario where Miyazaki is Andy Cortez and Sony is Snowbike Mike, where just. They're just trying to become best friends. You know what I mean? Sony wants Miyazaki as a best friend so bad, and they're just doing everything they can to get closer and closer. And Miyazaki just sitting there like, man, I feel, you know, these guys are really coming up in my business.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, we're eventually going to see a situation where FromSoftware is, you know, hanging out with Bandai Namco. And then they're going to go, man, I really wish Miyazaki was here.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Andy Cortez
Sony's going to be hanging out with Bandai Namco. Rather, Sony and Bandai Namco, they're going, man, I wish FromSoft was here and Miyazaki were here. I mean, this is obviously a smart move. Why would you not want to take advantage of this insanely popular ip, which we'll get to later in WE News, talking about the more sales figures for Night Rain and for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree dlc, which are crazy impressive numbers. But obviously this makes. This makes a whole lot of sense. And I kind of wonder exactly what they plan on broadening out into. Aside from the movie, which was already kind of a shock. I just don't know how that could possibly be adapted. But it's Exciting. It's. It's cool to just see more of this world.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See, I don't. I think the Elden Ring part of it, I. I go back and forth, right? I guess I don't go back and forth. Here's the thing. I think that the eldering part of it is a small piece of the pie. I think it's a bigger piece of the pie than some people would give it credit for. But I. This goes back to the Katakawa conversation when that was the news at the top of the year where Bani Namco has so much, you know, investment in anime.
Andy Cortez
A lot of anime.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
A lot of anime. And Sony also has investment in a lot of anime via things like Crunchyroll, right? And so like you have. Or Funimation or both. Somebody kind of funny.comFunimation is done. Funimation's over, I think.
Andy Cortez
I think Funimation merged into Crunchyroll. If I. Unless I dreamt that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Either way, right? Sony has this big push that they have that is anime. And like, I think there is. I think what Sony sees in both Kadokawa and Bandai Namco, right? I think they see that side of it. The movie stuff, the anime IP stuff, the way you can expand there. And I, like, I do think that they're. The video game side of things is valuable for Sony. I just don't think they have like the actual game plan there. I feel like this is like. Like the beginning of the symbiote. Let's try to infect the host and like, kind of get to them. We're trying to get to the brain, but like, if we can get the body before we get the brain, like, we're fine with that too, because we're going to make so much money off of the anime and all that shit, right? But like, I think the. The best play here for Sony would be to absorb it all or at least be able to partner with it. All right? Like, have it be the anime and have it be the video game side of it. Because Bandai Namco, when you want to talk about video games, right? Like Elden Ring is the first thing that comes to mind for us. But you're talking about so many other games. You're talking about things like Tekken and when you're talking about PlayStation, PlayStation's been making a big push as far as fighting games and how that goes, right? And so, like, I think that's probably a big part of the equation. If we went down a list of Bandai Namco ip, funny enough, Cruise Ace Combat.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, it's right there. You know what I mean?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean Dragon Ball as well, right? Like, there is so much potential for what I'm sure place Sony specifically, not even just PlayStation, right? Because it's mostly Sony, but what Sony probably sees as a really, a really great collaboration here between the two companies.
Greg Miller
And I want to point out really quick, Bandai Namco has also published recently the Patapon replay stuff. And also was it Everybody's Golf?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Everybody's. Everybody's Golf. So.
Greg Miller
And we were like, oh, that's a little weird.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And also what's the. The one that Greg loves on Vita Freedom Wars? I believe that was also ban on Amco. And so that partnership is happening.
Andy Cortez
Honestly, Gundam also another big one.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, yeah. Like, yeah, there's so much potential here. I think it's a natural fit for what both these companies do and how they've already worked together. And yeah, like I. Even if this is a thing of. And they're talking about the IP side, anime manga, that stuff, right? Like if we're to continue talking about the video game side of it, like, yeah, if you're able to use Bandai Namco's resources to publish more PlayStation IP that you just don't have shit to do with, right? Like PlayStation had Japan Studio. They don't have Japan Studio anymore because they closed it down and Japan Studio managed so many IPs for them. Right. And like there are the, you know, it's me, right? So I got to bring up Dark Cloud. There are the dark clouds of the world, right? There are even the former Team Eco games of the world that are on the Japan studio side of things that PlayStation doesn't really do as much with, right. Since the remake of Shadow colossus back in 2018. And so I think there's so much stuff there that you could look at Bandai Namco to go, hey, what do you like here? What can you guys publish that's going to be beneficial for both parties involved? I think it's very fascinating when you see Bane Namco publishing these games on Switch and you see the Sony Corp, like, you know, wording there and like the trademarks and stuff, it's not necessarily PlayStation Sony. So I, yeah, I think this was probably a thing that was a long time coming that like you just wouldn't even necessarily think about. And I wouldn't be surprised if they were to, you know, try to acquire even more stake in Bay 9 Anko as time goes.
Andy Cortez
Also, I mean, you know, seeing the success with something like, with Cyberpunk, whatever the anime is called on Netflix.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Edge Runners.
Andy Cortez
Edge Runners. And seeing how that's getting a season two and obviously that had a whole lot of interest there already and kind of in intermingling everything with Crunchyroll and taking IP and making anime out of it, like, we've seen that be a big success in the past. So I. I got to assume that that's where the future is going to head for or that that's where they're heading for. The future.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. I want to bring in one super chat from Street Zero who writes in and says, sony, both funimation and Crunchyroll, I believe. I mean, Sony owns both funimation and Crunchyroll. They've also been killing it in non anime animation with Spider Verse and K Pop Demon Hunters. And so there you go.
Andy Cortez
Damn. That was a K Pop Demon Hunters or that that was a Sony joint. I didn't realize that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I believe K Pop Demon Hunters is from the same, like, team that brought us Spider Verse and the Mitchell and the machines.
Andy Cortez
Did you watch that? Because I know Tim was telling us both to watch it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
K Pop Demon Hunters. Yeah, I watched it. Really? Like, fantastically animated movie. And it's a very pretty movie and also has great music. I wasn't really as invested in the story, but also I don't think the story is any way for me. Right. Like, the story feels tailored toward kids and also people who might have, like, a strong devotion to K Pop, which just isn't me. But I did enjoy watching it.
Andy Cortez
Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think you might enjoy, like, put it on as maybe a background thing.
Andy Cortez
Okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Or maybe like a plane movie. I. I think you'd have a good time.
Andy Cortez
I mean, it sounds like pretty average if it's just plain.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's good. That's a good job. Oh, I like that.
Greg Miller
That's good.
Andy Cortez
Like that one.
Greg Miller
Russ, I like that. Let me fix your car.
Andy Cortez
I already got. I got the bumper replaced.
Greg Miller
That's crazy.
Andy Cortez
I would have done it for free insurance.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Did it? Wait, Roger, you fix cars now? Nah.
Greg Miller
But, like, just let me in there. It's going to be my car eventually. So, like, let me just.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What does that mean?
Greg Miller
I'm gonna buy this.
Andy Cortez
I keep telling Raj I'm gonna eventually sell my car.
Greg Miller
Then Nick wants to buy your car now, too.
Andy Cortez
Nick got really. Nick was. Rog, when I tell you that when I was giving him a drive home the other day, he was just so pumped up about my car.
Greg Miller
Yeah. He was telling me about it privately.
Andy Cortez
He's like, is it 2016. I was like, yeah. He's like, that's really clean in here. It's really nice. He said, what's the mileage on 23,000? 23,000 is a brand new car, dude.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I had to give Nick a ride home and he was very much talking about buying your car. Oh, my God.
Andy Cortez
But then he also looked at me.
Greg Miller
He also looked at me and said, I'm gonna offer him 10,000 really low balls.
Andy Cortez
Ass. See, what I was saying was I'm gonna have Greg Miller autograph mine and sell it to Roger for 30,000.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What year is your car?
Andy Cortez
2016.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think it was gonna be a four way race right here. Yeah, I put up an offer. Yeah.
Greg Miller
Also I would buy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Here's the thing.
Greg Miller
You buy his car, then I'll buy you your car.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because I like your car too. Do you want my car? Because like, I don't. I'm starting to get tired of my car.
Greg Miller
Okay, let's have conversations. Let's just all trade cars. Who wants mys?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The other day I tried to put on my seatbelt and a part of it broke off.
Greg Miller
Okay, well maybe don't tell me that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I know. All of a sudden I can super glue it back. What?
Greg Miller
What part of the thing?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It was like a little piece of like the plastic that they have.
Andy Cortez
Oh, okay.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Greg Miller
I thought you fucking. The seat belt itself.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No, the seat belt works, but like a part of the plastic. So now like if I put on my seatbelt, it was like a little sharp and I'm like, oh, that' right. Cut myself. I'm.
Andy Cortez
I'm down to do angels on your body. Says only 23k on a 2016 is crazy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Really?
Andy Cortez
I know, I know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Only 23k.
Greg Miller
I only.
Andy Cortez
I bought it with 2000 in 2017. Joe California majority. I love talking about my car mileage. My favorite number of fact about me.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, that's actually really cool. Yeah, I'm at like 230k or something like that and 230k. Maybe. Maybe that's too high. Maybe like 180. Yeah, it's like a 2012. 2012.
Andy Cortez
Aubergine Dreams says, why do their rooms look the same? But we. We decorate similarly.
Greg Miller
Yeah, it's good.
Andy Cortez
Similar fashion sense. We're in the same room right now because the studio is having technical problems. So we came into the lab. The gameplay lab.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Story number two Wuxiang Fallen Feathers follows in black myth Wukong's footsteps with strong steam Launch. This is Ed Nightingale at Eurogamer. Wu Shang Fallen Feathers from Chinese developer Linzi has gotten off to a great start on Steam, following in the footsteps of extraordinarily popular Black Myth Wukong. The Souls like game has been out for a day, but has already racked up a peak concurrent player count of 114,132. That's vastly more than the majority of the genre on Steam, including FromSoftware's own Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2. The top Soulslikes remain FromSoftware's work, with Elden Ring peaking at 953k, Dark Souls 3 peaking at almost 130k, and Sekiro peaking at 125k, Elden Ring multiplayer spinoff Night Rain released in May and has peaked at almost 314k. Wuxiang remains far behind Black Myth Wukong, which has a huge peak concurrent player count of 2.4 million, as the second most played game ever on the platform. Still, Wuxang is off to a great start as another successful action RPG from a Chinese developer, though unlike Wukong, it's firmly in Souls like territory. However, despite the current player count, Wuxiang currently has a mostly negative rating, with players criticizing its poor performance. Its use of Unreal Engine 5 is considered the cause of this quote. Another unstable UE5 title reads one review, while others call it or call the performance abysmal and God awful. I've been playing on PS5 and performance isn't optimal on that console either. Again, those are the words of Ed Nightingale from Eurogamer Andy, of course you got to review Wuhan Fallen Feathers yesterday on the kind of funny games cast. How do you did you get to talk about performance when you talked about the game?
Andy Cortez
No, I didn't. But I didn't have any issues and I think my PC is pretty goated and maybe the right combination of CPU and gpu. And you know we can't let Greg Miller know about this PC gaming issue because we know he's gonna run in here and laugh at it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He gets excited to talk about it. I don't like that he gets so.
Andy Cortez
Excited about some hate about Downfall. A lot of other people. Yeah, but the no, I had no issues with it and as I was shooting it last night I had a couple people be like, how's your performance? Mine's not great. I was like I I haven't had any issues in this game that was, you know, not even anywhere in my thought process because I just didn't have any problems with certain areas getting 40 frames like oh, what's going on here? I I just Never had an issue, so. But again, I'm fortunate that I have a very, very good PC that can probably out horsepower any problems that there might be, but it seems like anybody with any sort of lesser specs are having issues and, and that sucks. And I know that UE5 is it. You guys talking about PC problems?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Greg Miller's here. Yeah, he's asking for.
Andy Cortez
He's asking about problems. No, Greg, no, we're not talking about PC problems.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, no, we're talking about just a normal video game release like you are.
Andy Cortez
No, no, no, we're not talking.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's a normal.
Greg Miller
Yeah, we got to close the door.
Andy Cortez
Sit the fuck down.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I came in to the office and I saw on his desk a book just filled with Pokemon facts. I don't know the name, I forgot the name of the book, but it was like a bunch of Pokemon facts to become a Pokemon master.
Greg Miller
Oh, I love it for third graders.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, it looked like a book for third graders. Yeah, it was just sitting on his desk.
Andy Cortez
Ah, this song, man, you want to be one of the best moments. But no, I. I had no performance issues. And again, it could be just people with, with lesser machines because even looking at their spec sheet and what the recommendation spec sheet is, things should be okay. But I know that Unreal Engine 5 is still new enough to where it's having a lot of problems. I'm probably just giving them more of the benefit of the doubt than they deserve because by this point a lot of these issues should be ironed out. But we're also looking at what this game is and it's Lean Z, which I don't have a whole lot of knowledge of as a developer, but I think this is maybe their first full ass game. And you know, with more game releases you'll get better at optimization. But it just seems like maybe this one was not quite ready.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. There is a statement that you shared with me right before the show of them addressing it on their Steam page, saying, first of all, we want to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who supports and follows the game. We have received reports regarding issues such as the game's optimization, not meeting expectations, errors in distributing pre order rewards, and some abnormal pricing. These problems should never have occurred and we deeply regret the inconvenience and negative experience and players are currently facing. We're confident in the game's performance within our recommended spec, but we're working on optimization. We're looking to issue a patch as soon as we can. In the meantime, if you're experiencing issues you can try adjusting your settings through our faq. And so they're aware. They're working on it.
Andy Cortez
This is Lindsay's second game. Their first game was called AD 2047. Came out on PSVR, Oculus Vive, and Steam.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
At a VR game?
Andy Cortez
I guess so. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But if I'm being honest. Go ahead. About Wuxian, Fallen Feathers. I paid this game no mind after. I think you did a preview. What was that? You did a preview at, like, GDC or something. It was like sometime earlier this year, and I think you came back and you were underwhelmed by it. And I was so happy because I was like, thank God I can put a souls. An upcoming souls game that I was, like, slightly excited about. I could put it to the side and not worry about it. And then there was a day in the middle of the review where you came in and you're like, bless, this game's kind of the truth. And I was like, damn it, dude. And damn it.
Andy Cortez
And again, you know, I say all that with the caveat that I still think it's a really easy Recommend. Easily recommended. 8 out of 10. I think it's a great game.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
If you're talking. If we're talking masterpiece status, the best of all, like, I. Let's chill out with that. I'm speaking more from the perspective that I thought this game was going to be kind of shit better or worse than Stellar Blade. I like this more than Stellar Blade.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, damn it. I don't want to hear that, man.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, like, I think Stellar Blade does. Bet does more with production value with, you know, the. The final hit of the cutscene being like this super actiony type looking, you know, moment or whatever. And that's the stuff that I really popped off for in Cellar Blade and the combat's awesome in Cellar Blade as well. I just enjoyed the. I enjoyed the combat more here. I enjoy the. I think they would have benefited. I said this in the review. I think they would have benefited more from straightforward sort of storytelling thing that Stellar Blade does. Like, more of a. Your standard type of here's how we tell a story in a video game. But they definitely lean more towards the fromsoft reading shit. Now when that stuff does work out and you happen to read the thing and you find out that that character is the one who killed. So that's like, oh, shit. Wow, this is really, really damn cool.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Just.
Andy Cortez
It's the most surprising game of the year for me. And yeah, I. I said this is my. This is my favorite favorite Souls like level design Since Dark Souls 1.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow.
Greg Miller
Which is harder between the two?
Andy Cortez
Stellar Blade. Yeah. Stellar Blade or this? Because Stellar Blade has. I think Solar Blade has difficulty options.
Greg Miller
Okay. This one doesn't.
Andy Cortez
Gotcha. Yeah, I believe so. But the thing that I really, really love about this game is how easy the, the, the respecing is. It's, it's. You never have to go find a special item or talk to a special NPC or nothing like that. It's just at any point in your menu you could be like, my health needs a boost. Let me, let me remove this point from strength and this point from agility and this point from wherever and let me put them all into these little three health little dots or whatever. I think it does a great job and it's just really player friendly in that sense.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I want to keep playing this game with you. Of better or worse. All right.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, please.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Better or worse than the first Berserker Kazan?
Andy Cortez
Better. No question.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Better or worse than Black Myth? Wukong?
Andy Cortez
Better.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
God damn, dude. Better or worse than Wu? Long Fallen Dynasty?
Andy Cortez
So much better.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Better or worse? I know I didn't do that in order. Roger Snicker in the background. Mario Odyssey. Better or worse than Liza P. Not better. Okay, that's where you. That's where you draw the line. Okay.
Andy Cortez
Liza P. Is my Liza P. I put above. Demon Souls is like my favorite of this genre. Like it's, you know, I would put the core Dark Souls games. Elden Ring, Bloodborne Sekiro. I'll put Liza P. Like right there. Like, I think it's better than their first offering, which is really, really saying something. But straight up, like, they're. The DLC of Liza P. May have pushed it above another fromsoftware game. And maybe we'll talk about that ranking another point.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Whoa, whoa. This is what I want me and you to do. Because I feel like me and you gotta play Neo.
Andy Cortez
Tell me. Big Dun.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Me and you gotta play Neo.
Andy Cortez
I know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm gonna do some kind of like, revisiting Neo in review. The Neo boys. Well, actually, let's not do that. Let's not do that.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, we can skip on that one.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You know what?
Andy Cortez
Nevermind.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, we're shelving that idea.
Andy Cortez
No, but here's. Here's the thing. Like, you know, let me just be, you know, a little bit of a hater in a sense. I feel like if people were to go back to Neo now, they'd go, oh, we've had a lot of strides in this genre since then and this was like the best one at the time. I do want to go back to it because look, I love the combat and war Long fallen dynasty. I love. What game is this Neo Is this Path of the Matrix? If we. I love the combat in, in those Koei Tecmo games. Right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
It's just everything surrounding it not awesome but Wuchang just really surprises in a lot of ways. It's. It looks hella generic at first. I get it. There's a lot of games like this but as you kind of get like 30% into the game starts doing some wild shit art direction wise and, and I really enjoyed the, the English voice acting cast.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh okay.
Andy Cortez
More than I thought I would because usually you play some of these like I think it was even wo long. I forget which ones are. I'm like I'll switch to the, the Japanese dub. I'll switch to the Chinese dub. I'm not really vibing with this right now. I thought the, I thought the voice actors did a. A way more than competent job which is more than I could usually say about a lot of games.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh yeah?
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm doing a Google search.
Andy Cortez
A good ass game, man. Again, it sucks that people are dealing with performance issues. I hope that this shit gets ironed out because you, when all. When eyes are on you like this, you cannot release in a state this badly. Yeah and we've seen it happen in the past where you will get review bomb to all hell and it takes, it takes you know, moving heaven and earth to get that rating up to neutral or barely positive or whatever. Like it takes so much for developers to get that because it's human nature. You're gonna let people know when you're not happy about something and it's way more rare for you to shout out shit that you like. And whenever people's. When the tide changes and maybe if they fix a lot of stuff, there's a lot of those reviews are going to remain unchanged. And that's unfortunate. And that's what's really nice about Steam's. The latest reviews are kind of lingering around here and here's the overall review scale. You know.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
As we're talking about souls likes and ones not made by FromSoftware necessarily. I Google searched top Souls likes not made by FromSoftware and I came across this list from 2024, November 2024 from CBR. The list is called Liza P and 14 other great souls likes not made by FromSoftware and it frames it as a ranked list. Like it starts at 15 and goes down to 1. And when I tell you that this list is abysmal indeed. Oh no, it's such a bad list. And I wish I could tell you it now, but like you do a shit list later. An ad just took over my entire screen. I was going to read some of these, read to you some of the things, but like, legitimately there's no way I can get rid of this. But Remnant from the Ashes was number one, which I'm not a hater on. Remnant.
Andy Cortez
Oh my gosh, I kind of forget that that's what that game is. I, I, if I could have any, if I could have my way at.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This company, they are remnant 2 at number one full playthrough.
Andy Cortez
Dude, remnant 2 is so fucking good. Which I'm, I never fully beat it. But that is a game that I would love if, you know, if Blessing walked in one day and was like, I want to play remnant 2. Let's do like a lot of streams of it because try playing with Mike and Nick and they, they don't love PvE style games a whole lot. Like that's easy for them to kind of fall off. I will say that when we were playing Remnant, you know, it scales with difficulty. And when we had three players, we were dying to a boss a lot because we kept on having a res, Nick. So we finally had his player die and just left him dead. And so me and Mike, two players beat a three player boss without Nick because it was just like he was the cause of all of our, of all of our troubles. Fucking Nick, dude. Here's what I want more than anything you, you mentioned you want us to do this, this Neo stream. Yeah, what I want is to get back to the Dark Souls One stream, but in a different way. Oh, a way that could be a bit more exciting. Way that it could be a bit more intriguing. Maybe a marathon style. Long time, a long stream, but with their seamless co op mode.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay, okay.
Andy Cortez
In the way that we did the Elden Ring seamless co op streams.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Mm.
Andy Cortez
Where you don't gotta worry about summoning some dude at a fucking stone statue. That's, you know, with the green eyes, not the red eyes one, because that one shuts off your console or whatever. Like you got. This is just seamless. You hop in, you're just two, three dudes running around Dark Souls One do them. You know, just having fun. That sounds existing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I get scared about like a Dark Souls marathon stream because I, I feel like I get fatigued after like, you know, three hours of playing. I need a. I need a little break. But if I had.
Andy Cortez
If I had play six episodes of kfaf.
Greg Miller
Yeah. And we can order you a lot of Red Lobster. And also we'll get you a treadmill.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You had me at treadmill.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, all of us get it.
Greg Miller
Yeah, we have all that stuff.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And also, I refreshed this list, and I got it without ads. Mortal Shell was their number two. Hollow Knight was their number three.
Andy Cortez
Mortal Shell.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Stranger of paradise is their number four.
Andy Cortez
Oh, man. Okay, look, look.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
The Surge 2 is their number five. We've never played the Surge to Surge.
Greg Miller
Is kind of fire.
Andy Cortez
I heard the Surge is awesome. I always get recommendations on. It's one I want to try out. But, you know, Stranger Paradise Combat was awesome. Everything around it was hilarious and I think intentionally so hilariously bad, you know?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I fuck with.
Andy Cortez
But, dude, let me. I mean, the fucking.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do I fuck with Stranger Paradise?
D
Like, you beat it.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, dude. The twist is crazy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I fuck with that game. Heavy. Like, it's one of those, like, so bad that it's good, but it's also good. Like, it's. Yeah, the combat is solid. The combat is really good. Everything around it, to your point, like, the story and writing is so hilarious in a way that I can't get mad at. It's love. It's like, it's too lovable of a video game, but for me to get mad at the story.
Andy Cortez
But straight up, when that twist hits, I was just like, whoa, that's fucking.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's cool.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Even. Even lines that come out. I forget the name of the main dude. Jonathan or some.
Andy Cortez
Right. Jack.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Jack. Thank you. Yeah, Jonathan. He, like. There's some lines where, like, he'll be looking at this, like, big fantasy tentacle monster that he's fighting. Right. Just got done with the boss fight, and he goes to the final hit and he's like, you fucking bitch. And then I'm like, how can you not love this?
Andy Cortez
It's on my steam. It's on my Steam Deck sound effect board. I clip out all my favorite lines from that game, and it's him going, I don't give a fuck who you are. Yeah, it's a bad guy being like, or my name isn't so and so. And he cuts him off and says, I don't give a fuck who you are.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
God, it's so good.
Andy Cortez
He's the shit, man.
Blessing Adioye Jr.

And we're back. Wanna hop into some super chats real quick before we move on? Koby Arndt writes in and says cheers to getting it up and running. R2O Tron. Robo Bartender says, Kfm, I got the job offer. Thank you for your support. Shout out to average Joe for always believing in me. Congratulations, Robo bartender to a Tron.
Andy Cortez
Hell yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That was a saga. I'm glad. I'm glad we got the happy ending there. That's really exciting. Jeff Bowl Jr. Writes in and says, pitching in to help fix the kfc.
Andy Cortez
Hey, thank you.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Thank you. We need it.
Andy Cortez
We need it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Demon Hacker says to xco launch plans but as token. But as Tolkien eating its lunch. Do you guys see this? I don't know if you guys talked about this on Cave today. That's the Marvel fighting.
Greg Miller
Oh, okay, gotcha.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think you got time between both. Tolkon isn't coming out until later next year and the closed beta or the beta, I don't know if it's closed or open, but the beta for 2xko is going down in October. So I think you're gonna have like these different, like, release times for these things. And also I think both of them are going to be quality enough that I don't think. I don't think they're going to eat each other's lunch necessarily. The only game I'm really scared for is the invincible fighting game.
Andy Cortez
What did you think of the vi?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I haven't seen the gameplay yet. I haven't. Yeah, I haven't, like, looked into it, but like, I mean, I like that.
Andy Cortez
Character Sonic Fox all about it. They loved it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, Roger, pull up V. Yeah, yeah, keep on talking.
Greg Miller
Hold on.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. Is it VI V or VI VI vi?
Andy Cortez
You watched the show? God damn it, I did.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I thought they're saying this is why.
Andy Cortez
This is why I was DMing why I wanted to DM you. I was like, bless, you cannot be looking at magic cards while you're watching Arcane.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's the only way.
Andy Cortez
It requires more of your attention.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Listen, the Tick tock has ruined my brain. I can't at a time. I'm not going to sit down and watch an hour long piece of content without distractions.
Greg Miller
Ready?
Andy Cortez
Yeah. Yeah. It's short for Violet the pill.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That little back step. Ooh. Yeah. She like shifts forward and back real quickly, which is cool.
Andy Cortez
Those are her actual hands in there, Roger. When she takes off the gloves, they're real big.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
She has kind of like a boxing situation going on.
Andy Cortez
They're sisters, Roger.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that's cool. They got her on the team Machine. Love that.
Andy Cortez
At the very, very end they show the, I guess the ultimate animation.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
And of course Riot just kills it with their art direction animations.
Greg Miller
Oh.
Andy Cortez
Oh, man.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's cool.
Greg Miller
Yeah, I'd hate to fight.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Me too. September 9th. I don't know why I said October, but yeah, that looked really cool. She gave me like Steve Fox vibes a little bit from Tekken where he's like the boxer that will like weave. Like bob and weave. Yeah. The way she was like shifting back and forth with her fists up kind of reminded me of that. I like that. She looked really fun, actually. I'm all about that.
Andy Cortez
Yeah. Very cool.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Very, very cool. Want to bring in another super chat from Yelsing who says, I like Neo 1 and 2 more than most fromsoft games.
Andy Cortez
Damn.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And then big praise. Big Dome Tyler says love and blessing Champion Star Cloud. I mean, you already know. I'm already gonna. I'm always gonna champion Dark Cloud. It's not even like. It's not even like my. My. One of my favorite games of all time by any means.
Andy Cortez
But it deserves being mentioned.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's just a game that deserves being mentioned. I think it's the way that like me and you talk about Astral Chain.
Andy Cortez
Brave Fencer Musashi.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Brave Fencer Musashi. Come on. It's like some games where like, is it game of the year? Maybe not. But it's special. It's still something special that's worth Remembering. Story number three. Battlefield 6 gets its first big reveal trailer. And we're gonna live react to it, me and Andy.
Andy Cortez
Roger, I have not watched this yet.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I've not watched it either. Except for when we were having tech issues. Kevin started playing it for me, but it's fine. It was. He was just trying to test audio. My fellow citizens, my fellow.
Andy Cortez
Presidents, perhaps for audio listeners.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Don't do that.
Andy Cortez
All President Punching people.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
We'Re ready.
Andy Cortez
Mr. President, my fellow citizens, today represents.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
A dark day in our history.
Andy Cortez
With this monstrous, unprovoked attack, no country is safe from their reach. For all those serving on our behalf, our prayers go with. His hands are scarred. I want to be his Red Bull. For the Pax Armada mercenaries who are watching now, I have a message.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I mean, there was that Trump photo, I think, where his hand has, like a weird.
Andy Cortez
He got the grayscale.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. See, I would describe this for audio listeners, but it just looks like every military game.
Andy Cortez
It's a tone setter.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
It's a tone setter for sure. And the tone is war. Yeah, the tone is war and politics. Big gun explosions, RPGs.
Andy Cortez
That means rocket launcher. Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Rocket propelled guns, right?
Greg Miller
Totally. What it stands for.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I don't know.
Andy Cortez
For real?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think so. What does RPG stand for? I'm delivering it.
Andy Cortez
Rocket Rebel. Grenade.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Grenade.
Andy Cortez
But still, like, I didn't even think of rocket propelled. There's a redhead guy in the game. He didn't look happy.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And then, oh, well, we're gonna. We're gonna get a multiplayer reveal on.
Andy Cortez
July 31st, and that's what I'm more. More excited about. More, more, more. That's what I'm most excited about. Because we've talked about this the past couple days on Games Daily, and I. I've never been the Battlefield guy because I just don't care about the game mode, the actual, like, conquest and capturing all the points or whatever. But them. Them announcing that they are working on a battle royale has me way more pumped up and that it. It completely turned around from like, zero excitement to, Holy, a battle royale. Sounds kind of cool because I don't really feel like we've had a whole lot of new battle royales in this genre in a while. Like, the, you know, they all got got. They all got canceled and killed about 45 years ago or whatever. And so it's been a while since we've had something like this that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Do you think that's still the thing, though? Like, are Battle Royale still a rage or is it just the ones that exist? Are the ones that are gonna continue to live?
Andy Cortez
Well, what I'm hoping for is the ones that are putting this much budget behind something and throwing money at it might like. It's not even necessarily that I miss Battle Royales. I'm just. It's a game mode that I much prefer to the core experience of Battlefield. So it's not even like, like, oh, are they chasing a trend? I think it's Long. I think it's been long since dead that the Battlefield trend was happening. That's why so many games tried it and failed. Ubisoft made like two of them with Hyperscape and that Fortnite one. Did that one ever come out? The Fortnite looking one? They had a very cartoonish.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I feel like I know what games you're talking about, but I don't think it was a battle Royale. Are you talking about the rocket launcher game? Wasn't there like one called Not Rocket League? That's a different.
Greg Miller
There's another one recently that we looked at. We're like, this looks exactly like Fortnite.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But I don't think that's out.
Andy Cortez
Oh, I thought. I just assumed it had been Rocket Champions.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Is that what I'm thinking of? There's some. There's some rocket game that Ubisoft was working on.
Andy Cortez
Roller Champions.
Greg Miller
No, there's a rocket launcher one too.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
There's a rocket launcher one.
Andy Cortez
Oh yeah. I think that one kind of arena.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Someone said Rocket Arena.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, Rocket Arena.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow. They just. They were just putting out. Yeah, I typed in Ubisoft Rocket and the first thing that came up was rocket, robot and wheels, if you want to know what their SEO is looking like.
Andy Cortez
Oh, damn. Damn. But either way, I. I like the Battle Royale genre. I. In the same way that I enjoy, you know, the Overwatch style or you know, if that's kind of blasphemous. The team Fortress style of pushing the payload and things like.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
In the way I enjoyed those game modes. And whenever I hop into Battlefield and have hopped into it in the past, I just always feel like I have no agency. I'm just one out of 90 dudes. And you might feel like you're popping off and you're winning and you check the score and you're losing. 212 to 14. You're like, why? What has happened? Like, it just never felt like. It's just not my shit. I know that it's not for me. I know that I'll never like it. But for them to have a battle Royale, it's like, oh shit, that's something I can get into. And I'm stoked to see what a big ass company with a big ass IP and a lot of budget can do for. For Battle Royale. Because we just haven't had a Battle Royale entry like this in a long ass time. Again, I just think they've all been either killed before birth or they've just been. They die whenever they come out because everybody's Playing Warzone Apex Fortnite.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I want to do a self correction. Rocket arena was actually published by ea. Oh, not by Ubisoft. And then did you see this? This morning, IG Battlefield 6 is widely expected to arrive on October 10th. Something that Eagle eyed fans have now seen is backed up by the game's own terms and conditions on EA's website, which notes that the date which notes that date as when the game's pre launch offers will end. So it seems like October 10th is the day. Y' all trying to get this on Fanny's Critic or what? What's the lab?
Andy Cortez
Oh, I don't.
Greg Miller
I got a major play on Fantasy Critic that me and Mike are working on. I just want to tease that a little.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What do you mean? What do you mean?
Greg Miller
I just want to tease something a little bit because honestly, are y' all.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Doing a trade so bad? They're doing a fucking trade.
Andy Cortez
No, it's not.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I'm tired of. That's even worse. I'm tired of this collusion.
Greg Miller
We might be manipulating the rules a little bit.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Oh, gosh, I'm going to go into the back end. You have.
Greg Miller
You haven't seen anything yet.
Andy Cortez
You don't even know you have enough remakes. You don't need to manipulate any further. You'll see.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Probably going to invent new remakes.
Andy Cortez
I was, I was. I was. I was so annoyed. I walked. I walked up to Mike after that Fantasy Critic episode. I was like, mike, we cannot let Barrett get away with this. Like, yeah, I'll be happy with fourth place. You know, like, Mike, he checks it every damn day. He cares the most.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Absolutely.
Andy Cortez
We cannot act like he. We cannot give him this like, moral victory, you know, Fourth place. I'll be happy with four places. No, no, you're gonna be sad. You're gonna like it. All right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I feel that also regarding Battlefield. I think I'm 100 with you as far as Battlefield's modes. I think what I realized when it comes to me and competitive shooters is that the less players, the better I like them. Focus. I like a. An Overwatch or a Rainbow Six Siege or a Halo Infinite. Or like, yeah, like a 5V5. 4V4. I want like a enough control. I though whenever people would say, like, mike, how big were the fights in battlefield? Like 30v30. 60v. 60. 64 and 64. 64 and 64. Like, I don't. Not that I have to get it right. I don't have to get it, but I don't get it. Like, I Don't understand like the, the appeal necessarily. Like, I'm like, well, might as well flip a coin on who's going to win this thing. Is that crazy of me? It probably is crazy.
Andy Cortez
I think it is, yeah. Because I mean, the number one response I get to whenever I complain about not feeling like I have agency, people are like, play the objective and get good. And it's like, it's just not a fun game mode to me. And that's just my taste. That's just my personal taste. But I mean, a Battle Royale from. From the Battlefield franchise, with all of the evolution that they have, with all of the destructive elements and environments and bridges and buildings collapsing, like, that sounds awesome as Count me the hell in.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think that is why I like Battle Royales though, because like, you still have the thing of there's like, it's either. It's either just you or like maybe you and three teammates or whatever it is, right? But there's enough condensity there that you have the big action. But then also like, hey, y' all gotta lock in if you want to actually win this thing.
Andy Cortez
Clutch the hell up because two teams are pushing you from that direction or whatever, you know?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, that's a video game, right?
Andy Cortez
Instead of like, I'm on point B and we have 62 controlled, but point C, A and D, we're losing. I don't know, like, I just kind of lose the plot, you know?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
So like I. I have this thing where part of me is like, oh man, do I want another battle royale in 2025 or whatever, right? Like, do I believe in another Battle Royale? But then the other side of me is like, Battle Royale would get me into Battlefield if I'm being honest. Like, if they put out a good Battle Royale and everybody's like, yo, this one's dope. And it has the destruction and all the shit that makes Battlefield great. That would be enough for me to go, all right, I should, I should play Battlefield. I should check this out. And so I'm excited to see what they, what they cook up.
Andy Cortez
I mean, just thinking of how awesome the finals is in those moments where, you know, the files not being the finals, not being a massive Battle Royale game, or like this huge, it's very objective based thing. But the Levolution in those moments are insane. When you're cashing in and suddenly the floor collapses from beneath you. Like, to see. To have that on a massive scale. We'll see how it runs. We'll see how it looks. It's one I will say Battlefield games always present incredibly well in trailers and you're always getting the watered down kind of version in game. It it never quote I feel like Battlefield more than anything. It never quite looks how the trailers do.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Remember that tornado in the last one? Like the tornado never quite looked that sick. No, no. It's just like visually just never really looked as awesome. Yeah. In my opinion.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Let's move on to story number four. Itch IO has hidden its entire NSFW games library that is not safe for work as payment providers Pressure stores this is Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle Indie digital game store Itch IO has de indexed its entire NSFW games library from its store. This comes as payment providers have begun scrutinizing NSFW content on platforms such as Steam. While the extent of these changes to the platform isn't currently known, a statement confirms that Itch IO is working rapidly to change the way it platforms explicit content. This comes less than a week after Steam introduced a new set of guidelines banning previously permitted explicit content from its platform. The issue began earlier this year when a game titled no Mercy, which promised players they could, quote, become every woman's worst nightmare. Yeah, and featured content including sexual violence and incest, was briefly published on Steam and Itch IO. The game was widely condemned, with many calling for its removal from these platforms. Itch IO banned the title, however, it remained on Steam. Now Itch IO has stated that due to pressure from the group Collective Shout, which issued an open letter to payment processor processors demanding that they cease supporting online platforms that host explicit games, they have removed all adult games from their search and browse features while determining the next steps. In a statement, Itch IO said, quote, this is a time critical moment for the platform. The company also apologized for not being able to warn NSFW game developers of the changes, saying that it was not realistic to provide advanced warning. So that's the end of the article. I have seen some tweets on social media pop up online in reaction to this. There's one that Barrett shared in the KHD Slack from Z Boyd Digital Entertainment, who posted on Blue Sky Consume Me just got delisted in a wave of delistings on Ish IO. It's a semi autographical game about disordered eating. It won the grand prize at the most recent IGF Awards. When storefronts start mass bannings, everything is threatened. And if you're unaware of Consume Me, I've talked about it quite a few times in the last couple of weeks as a game that I'm looking forward to. It's on my famous critic. I think that game is going to come out and do big things. There was another tweet that I saw as I was doing a little bit of looking into the topic. Naomi Clark tweeted on BlueSky can confirm that most of the works by radiatoryang on bluesky as well as my own card game no longer show up on Itch IO search results much like anything else tagged nsfw. It seems good enough for art museums, but not payment processors.
Andy Cortez
Tricky situation.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, a lot of, a lot happening here. Yeah, a lot of moving parts here.
Andy Cortez
One of those things where you just. There's no real right way to go about this aside from putting in hours and hours of customized direct, you know, conversation with the people in play. Like you do the mass ban and you're gonna get a lot of people's banned that doesn't deserve it. But then, you know, how do you monitor all of these systems like so specifically, like, what a, what a hell of a situation that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. To rewind back here. I think first off, the guy who made this no mercy game, right, like that was one that I, I saw things pop up here and there about it. Earlier in the year, one of my friends was sending me TikToks about it and they're like fucking pissed off that this game even existed. And yeah, like, as I hear about this and like look more into it now that it's affecting other things, I'm like, yeah, yo, off with making games that are about. About sexual violence or inflicting sexual violence on people. Like that shit should not be allowed on the store, period. And like the fact that people are making that shit great now you're ruining things for everybody, right? Like, yeah, that's first and foremost. It's a whole can of worms here as far as the reaction, right, because now you have payment processors and lobbying from the organization that I mentioned before, Collective shout, right, Trying to lobby to put pressure on payment processors to have these things banned from the stores. And so Steam and Itch IO, I think they're in a big moment right now of how do you respond to this and what does this look like as far as managing the games that are on your platform but also wanting to provide good curation as far as like, hey, we want to be able to uplift art and expose art and let people make the games that they want to make. But also there should be a line like I'm of the firm believes that There should be a line. Right? So, like, to your point, Andy? Yeah. Like, I think the reaction kind of has to be, all right, take down everything, and then let's. Let's start to figure out what these rules look like so we can surface things that deserve, like, surface things that are art. Surface things that, you know, do have a voice or should like, and if.
Andy Cortez
You allowed on our platform and if this game just has a lot of nudity, but it's not a game about, you know, being an awful human or whatever. Yeah. I. You mentioning this dude with this who made this terrible video game. It's. It's wild because not only are you kind of showing your whole ass about how, you know, away from society, you should be and probably are, but you're also things up for a lot of other people.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Like, you are ruining this for people that are either making good video games with nudity or making horny games for people that like horny games. You're ruining this for everybody. Like, what a. What a disaster of a person you have.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And the one more wrinkle that really sucks about this is that it is these payment processing companies that seem to be dictating a lot of this. Right. Like, I don't like that it has to come from PayPal. It has to come from, like, credit card companies or whoever else is. Are the ones that are putting pressure on Steamin I.O. and these stories to do this, because it should not be on them to then dictate the video games that I'm playing. I don't want PayPal to be the ones that are like, it's the same way that I don't really want a lot of, like, government regulation. Right. People who don't know about the art, people who don't know about video games then coming in being like, oh, I don't want any game with sex in it. Guess what? Like, that is going to lead to more bad than good. I wish that Itch IO and Steam were way ahead of the curb as far as, like, getting ahead of their curation. I think this is the thing that probably should have happened a long time ago.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
As far as better curation to stop things like this no mercy game from coming out and happening. And now it's affecting everybody and having this big thing. Right. I hate that. Yeah. These payment processing companies are having this sort of weight on how this goes, but at the same time. Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Like to have to go one by one and.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
And, you know, all right, complaint from this developer. Who are they? Okay, let's look into the game. Nothing. Everything's good.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay.
Andy Cortez
Could approve it. Like, that's, you know, like, what a nightmare of a situation this is. Because this is. This requires, like, a lot. It requires all hands on deck and more.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
To try to get this stuff so customly curated.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
My big hope is that this is. It doesn't end up in an overcorrection that then turns into a thing of, like, yeah, censorship and, like, you know, not letting, like, LGBTQ games or games that are just horny in general.
Andy Cortez
Right.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, horny games should exist. Of course, these are private, private platforms, so they have a choice on, like, what they want to allow on their platform. Right. But, like, I think a lot of. I think as long as you're not hurting people and as long as you're not, you don't have a message that is a destructive message to people, like sexual violence and things like that. Right. Like, you should be allowed to have a platform and allowed to exist, you know, as a game, whether you have nudity, whether you're horny, whether you're, you know, expressive of your own sexual identity or whatever it is. And so hopefully we don't see an overcorrection. We probably will see an overcorrection because it's PayPal and all these people.
Andy Cortez
But, I mean, Stellar Blade almost made my top 10 last year.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah. And that's a game with, you know.
Andy Cortez
Imagine it gets taken down.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Imagine that that got taken down. Yeesh. That'd be. That'd be big news, Andy.
Andy Cortez
It sure would if they took away.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Stellar Blade from us. Something smaller. See the tiniest news. I don't know, I'm like, the tiniest news I need to know about. Where would I go?
Andy Cortez
You'd go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the news items you need to know about.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
This is the way that I said us. You can't take away solid bleeding from us. Story number five is we news from Double Fine. They posted to honor Ozzy's larger than life rock and roll legacy. We're making brutal legend free on Itch IO, which is really exciting. Lego has finally revealed the first full look at the upcoming Lego Game Boy. They put up an Instagram video here. And when I. When I tell you. I thought this was gonna be just a quick like, oh, here's a look at the Lego Game Boy. No, they have a whole story going on here. There's a robot, There's a kid from the 90s.
Andy Cortez
Cinematography.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
I mean, there are. You know, it's a Cute little homage to old media, you know, old commercials. I. I'll be real with you, man. I don't with like Game Boy sets like, or I don't with Lego sets like this. I just don't like them.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What do you mean?
Andy Cortez
They do nothing for me. Like, like the, the console thing or the statue of like Mario's head or. I don't know, they get. I just, I don't know. Give me a little minifig who's maybe playing a little mini Game Boy or something. I don't know. Like I, I like having sets. I just. I've never been the type of person to, to want. Because this isn't the first sort of Lego Nintendo. No collab, right?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
No. Yeah, they had like Mario and like.
Greg Miller
And they had the NES too back in the day, right?
Andy Cortez
Yeah, like, that's another one. I just like, I'd rather just have an nes, you know, Maybe. Yeah, maybe for the people that.
Greg Miller
Because it looks so much like a regular Game Boy, it's like what's the point? Yeah, I just got a regular game.
Andy Cortez
Yeah, that's, that's where I'm at with it.
Greg Miller
Also, heads up about the, the brutal legend. It's not free anymore. That was only free for 666 minutes.
Andy Cortez
That's amazing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wow, that was good. Well, y' all missed it. From Wario 64. A brand new lollipop chainsaw game and anime have been announced.
Andy Cortez
Interesting.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, I mean that's the word for it.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Super interesting.
Greg Miller
You think James Gunn's big comes. Imagine he's like, hey, listen, I know I'm directing five movies and have a billion dollar company. I'm going to do this real quick.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's a hilarious thought because my mind was like, is Suda 51 even going to be back for this? Like, who's working on this? This is priorities. Project CARS 3 gets delisted on August 24th. Online servers shutting down on February 24th, 2026. Elden Ring Night Rain has sold over 5 million copies. Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has sold over 10 million. Crazy.
Andy Cortez
That's crazy, man. That's a big amount of attach rate for a game that sold like 26 million plus. That's crazy. That's awesome.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That many people buying the big. I mean it is a big DLC.
Andy Cortez
Big ass DLC.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Big ass DLC. Dorfromantic launches August 14th on Xbox and PS5 and PS4.
Andy Cortez
Do you crush the out of that? If you're a Greg Miller, it would have been Dorfo.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Launches July 30th. The Legend of Heroes Trails beyond the Horizon. Launches January 15th in the West. And then finally, Super Crash Pals launches on iOS and Android today. It is made by kind of funny best friend Jeffrey Bull Jr. Who emailed me and Greg this morning and asked to be in WE News.
Andy Cortez
Oh, sick.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And so your wish is our command.
Andy Cortez
Wow. Congratulations again.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
That's Super Crash Pals.
Andy Cortez
Super Crash Pals. Super Crash Pals, iOS and Android today. I'm going to go buy it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Hell yeah. And that is it for WE News. Let's open up Super Chats before we get out of here to see what people are saying. See, as a lifelong Battlefield fan, this is Foxy Steve. This is what I wanted. Large scale destruction in a contemporary setting and a campaign. And Andy, I think you'd like Rush Mode. Do you know about Rush mode?
Andy Cortez
I don't know about Rush Mode, but I also am excited for the campaign. I've. I've always kind of keep glossing over the fact that there is a campaign and I almost kind of keep forgetting that there's a campaign. But that, that gets me super pumped up because I really, I enjoy these big budget popcorn explosions all over the place. The last couple Call of Duty campaigns have been fantastic and I'm pretty stoked for this one.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Let's see here, we got another one from 0427 who says Battlefield 6 trailer really shows that they got influenced by Civil War movie. Start of the trailer is so similar to the start of that movie. Love it.
Greg Miller
Yeah. But then also like Modern Warfare 3 back in the day, the original one that also took place in New York City and had a kind of a Civil War type deal. So think about it, Roger.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
What kind of American are you?
Greg Miller
What do you mean? It's a. Oh, I thought you were really asking. I was like, man, I gotta think.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I gotta fight, isn't it? Yeah, it's like me some days.
Andy Cortez
The deep question.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Kebabs writes in and says tabletop computer rocket playing grenade ttrpg. See what you did there?
Andy Cortez
Yeah, that's fine. That's a good one.
Greg Miller
I like that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
See, Jeff Bull Jr says. Oh, speaking of, Jeff Bull Jr is the one who put out. Who's putting out Super Crash Pals. They gave us a Super chat and said, did you guys notice that it said Battlefield Studios rather than Dice or did I miss something?
Andy Cortez
I did not notice that.
Greg Miller
Yeah, yeah, that was announced a while. That was when they were like, hey, we're doing. We're making Battlefield Studios. Yeah, like this is the thing that's making it.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like all of our studios are Battlefield. Yeah, exactly.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Greg Miller
Mike just came in saying the same thing.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah, Mike just repeated that.
Greg Miller
Off mic, screaming it.
Andy Cortez
Tell them this something.
Greg Miller
It's like, all right, bye. Thanks.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And then Rev Cabot writes in and says, and the Gooners wept for there were no more games to come to.
Andy Cortez
Damn.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Yeah.
Andy Cortez
Rest in peace.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
All right, Wuchong.
Andy Cortez
Fallen feathers are still out there.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
You don't think it's going to get delisted on Itch IO?
Andy Cortez
Dude, can you imagine when I logged in yesterday? You have to swap from the review build to the standard, like retail build. Right? Logged in yesterday and all of the DLC costumes are there. I was like, man, we're just going from 0 to 60, like in point 0 seconds.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Like, you can be honest, cuz, like I. I love Stellar Blade, right? But some days I'm like, was, was it worth it? Was, was my evangelism of Stellar Blade worth all the Gooner comments then that Now I'm like looking at Wu Chong and I'm like, if I play this game, you know, I'm gonna have 8 out of 10 fun. But people are going to be like, oh, you're playing it for the titties, aren't you? And I'm like, I don't want. I don't want that smoke. I'm tired of.
Andy Cortez
It's definitely not at that level, but it's like, it's not far away either. Yeah, you know, I'll say that.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's like, I just want. It's good. I just want to play an action.
Andy Cortez
Celebrate rocks. Watching rocks. Teddy's rock.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He says, we're all thinking, yeah, kind of funny. Dot com slash, you're wrong. That's where you write in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong. So we correct it for those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. Globe. Globe. Globe. Tundra Boy writes in with Wii News. Expedition 33's banger soundtrack is now available pre order as a vinyl and cd.
Andy Cortez
Saw Ben Starr and Jennifer English making that little video.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
He's always promoting videos.
Andy Cortez
He's always.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I've never met somebody who loves making videos more than Ben Starr and sounds.
Andy Cortez
Like taking a shot at him.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
But here's the thing. They're all good videos. I watched every single one of them. I can't even. I can't hate. I like that guy. Let's see. I don't know what that is. I'll read it for back end, I guess. Dakin writes in and says it's been eight days since the wrong file for KHD for July 16 was uploaded on Patreon. Can someone please upload the correct one? Here's the thing. First of all, I didn't know that. I don't think anybody knew that. Second of all, brother, it's been eight days. Just watch with ads. The news is from a week and a half ago. You really want the correct version that bad?
Andy Cortez
I'll send you the link, whoever you are. Yeah, I don't know if I have.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Because, like, here's the thing. It's probably. It's definitely uploaded. It probably was just linked incorrectly or something. So if you really want the link, I'm sure if you DM somebody here, we can get it to you.
Andy Cortez
I know a lot of those. Like, the subreddit is probably the best. Say, I love. I love the attitude, though. Like, I'm serious. I love that because, like, I know people care because I don't disagree. But also, like, you know, yeah, you got to get what you wrote. You know, you're paying for this.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Listen, yeah, we'll fix it. We'll fix your thing. But I just. It's the thought process of, like, I still don't know the news from eight days ago. Please, I can't watch it with an ad. I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't say that, but I see Houston writes in. It says Wu Chong. Pronunciation. Pronunciation. It's like Jimmy Wong's last name. Isn't that what we're saying? Wu Chang?
Andy Cortez
Yeah, Wu Chang.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Wu Chang. All right.
Andy Cortez
Why was one of us saying Wu Chang? Or what?
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Maybe one of us said Wu Chang.
Andy Cortez
Nahang, I've been saying Wu Chang my whole life.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
I think maybe it's because we're also. I think maybe because we're also referencing black myth Wukong. So maybe they think that we meant to say Wu Chong.
Andy Cortez
Ah, Black myth. Wukong Wo Long Fallen dynasty. Wuchang Fallen feathers.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
And that is it. Yeah. Zany Lube has an updated concurrent player count. It looks like he says Wuchong's peak Concurrent players count, 131k+ has surpassed All Souls games now excluding Elden Ring and Wukong. If that counts.
Andy Cortez
Yeah.
Blessing Adioye Jr.
Okay. Sick. We did it. That's. You're wrong. And that's been another episode of Kinda Funny Games Daily. Thanks for hanging out with us in the lab as we have some tech troubles today.
