Mike
I'm calling a timeout already.
Andy
What's up?
Mike
We're going to talk about this San Antonio spurs fiesta pink jacket that you're wearing right now.
Andy
I mean, what a. I mean a dominant performance.
Mike
Wow, look at you popping right now.
Andy
Game, Mike. Just State mid game.
Mike
They had to let him know.
Andy
You had to let them know.
Mike
Game one. You what? You know what? You got one on us. But we're back.
Andy
Hey, don't forget who we were. Don't forget who we are.
Mike
You know what, Andy? I talked a lot of smack to you because I, you know, I love teasing you. You say up, I say down. You say right, I say left. That's usually how.
Andy
Why is that?
Mike
Because I love you.
Andy
Okay?
Mike
Like how I like to rage bait Roger.
Andy
Right. That's right. That's okay.
Mike
And you came in, you said, mike, my team, the San Antonio spurs, are making the playoffs. It's time to get with the black and silver. It's time to be with this, with the squad. And I, I gave you the up down. I said, I'm an OKC fan now. You know what I mean?
Andy
But I got famously said, yeah. When Tim Getty's asked what teams are, what NBA teams do. Who's your NBA team, Mike? And you say, well, I have like two or three because I like. I like the Nuggets and I like the Thunder, you know, Nuggets. Because I'm from Colorado, I like the Thunder, you know, Golden State warriors or. Or Golden State Warriors. Sorry. I also like. And you name somebody.
Mike
Sacramento Kings.
Andy
Sacramento Kings. I like the Kings. I like the Beam. And then at the last second, Hail Mary, you said, and, oh, you know what? I like the Thunder, you know, they got my guy and sat in silence. And I said, who's your guy, Mike?
Mike
Guy that does tick tock dances.
Andy
And then you stayed silent, presumably Googling.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
And then Craig Miller goes, who's your guy, Mike? No response. And I had to go, Jared McCain. Yeah, that's my guy. You know, my guy.
Mike
So, Andy, I'm happy to say that I'm now back around. I'm a San Antonio spurs fan.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Let's go.
Andy
Come on.
Mike
Big win. How are you feeling right now? I'm feeling a bunch of basketball.
Andy
I'm feeling great. I've been watching a lot of basketball. But more importantly, how are you feeling on today, your birthday, the day of your birth?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
You are.
Andy
You are 35.
Mike
36. I've had 35 birthdays and today is my 36th birthday. And none of them compare to today because today on my birthday I get to sit down at this table with you, my 1.1, my best friend, and talk all things video games.
Andy
I need you to know that when you were at the meeting last week.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
We're looking at the schedule, we're flipping things around and I'm hosting and we're looking at the. Well, who can co host with Andy? Because that, that puts so and so on too many things.
Mike
Yeah, yeah.
Andy
And I said put Mike on with me. And they're like, it's Mike's birthday. You would love that. He would love birthday and.
Mike
What are you doing?
Andy
I have to pay you back from the Pokemon stream. When I ate all of the Snickerdoodle Twix and you weren't happy about it. You were not happy that I ate all of them with the brand new summer edition Red Bull sugar free Sudachi and lime. Brand new summer edition brand. I don't know what that is.
Mike
Have you tried it yet?
Andy
I have no idea. Never tried it.
Mike
It's sugar free. You're allowed to break the fast, right?
Andy
No, but it has calories, so. Yeah. How are you gonna do this? You just gotta live with that.
Mike
We'll wait till three o' clock afternoon for you to drink.
Andy
No, I want one. No, no, no. 12:30. 12:30. I saw you've been earlier. I stopped eating at 12:30 last night.
Mike
I love that. I love that. Well, Andy, I'm so happy you're back because you had the day off yesterday.
Andy
Yes.
Mike
We missed you. Big day.
Andy
Huge.
Mike
You missed two back to back fun presentations. Star Fox and of course Stranger Than Heaven.
Andy
Yeah, that was.
Mike
Did you hear that song for Stranger than?
Andy
No.
Mike
Oh, you haven't heard the theme song that they got going on? It's a banger.
Andy
But I saw, I saw Snoop Dogg was in it.
Mike
Snoop Dogg will be prominent in this.
Andy
Yeah, yeah, yeah, saw that. And I also saw the new Star Fox which we will talk all about here very very soon.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
If you're watching live, be a part of the show by super chatting on YouTube.com forward/ kind of funny games. We couldn't do this without our producers on patreon.com forward/kind of funny. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm twining for now, let's begin with with what is and forever will be the Rope Report. It's time for some news. Buy me Twix when you can we have seven stories today. Story number one, Nintendo confirms Switch 2 star Fox pricing. This comes from Tom Phillips at IGN. Following last night's surprise reveal of a Star fox game for Switch 2, Nintendo has now confirmed the game's price. Star Fox will be the second game with pricing confirmed to feature Nintendo's new pricing policy or Switch two exclusives have different costs based on whether you buy them physically or a digital download. On the Nintendo eShop, Star Fox will cost 49.99. Physical copies will meanwhile be priced at 59.99. That's cheaper than many Switch to blockbusters. And perhaps a reflection that the game is parentheses. Another Star Fox 64 remake. That's right. This is the second Star Fox remake. First one was on 3DS.
Mike
Okay, now wasn't Star Fox 64 was a remake of the original Star Fox?
Andy
No.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
No. Star Fox 64 was its own game.
Mike
Don't think.
Andy
Yeah, I don't think that's true. I think it is a remake of Star Fox. I think that's what Tim said yesterday. Damn. I didn't know that. I don't remember the Tim Star Fox on Super Nintendo having good and draw, man.
Mike
Really?
Andy
Fox fan of polygons though.
Mike
Go check out the presentation games cast Tim. A lot of us, we all said a lot of mean things about it, but Tim had a beautiful speech about this and like went through the history of Star Fox. It was like. It was a view. It was a passionate, beautiful, awesome, very informative speech about Star Fox. You should go watch that. But he did say it felt like the first Star Fox was then remade in The Star FOX 64.
Andy
I, you know, I did read a lot of the comments not being happy with the panel on the, on the set.
Mike
Yeah, we weren't pleased. The team did not like the character designs. And here's the thing, like casting crew.
Andy
Here's the thing. Comments in chat, like, I'm, I'm with you guys, whatever your stance is. I totally agree to them, the kung fu panderer. I, I mean, I don't necessarily, you know, I'm, I'm kind of there with how a lot of the, the naysayers felt and it's not the realism angle for me.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
It's not the fur and the phys for me. It's all, it all comes down to proportions.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
And I don't, you know, I don't love the large eyes or I, I don't love the eyes. I wish they were larger. A bit more like, like the old school sort of style.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
I wish their. Their heads were. Were a bit bigger, maybe a bit more cartoony looking. It's not the. You know, you seeing every feather on Falco's face. That's my issue. It's more of just like, how the. How they're shaped, you know? And I think another big. Another big thing. Why we look at star fox in yesterday's reveal and think, that, man, why does he just kind of look out of shape?
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
You know. You know what it is? It's. Every other star Fox iteration has a scarf or something covering his neck. This looks like there are many angles where just looks.
Mike
He.
Andy
He has a double chin.
Mike
This looks like me. When I think about all the weight
Andy
I gained, like, over the pandy, when I.
Mike
When I look at myself and go, oh, my goodness, you're in the thick.
Andy
And like, when I look at this bike, I think, like, this is why we as. As. As men grow beards and facial hair.
Mike
Try to cover that up.
Andy
Yeah, to try to, like, differentiate, hey, this is face and this is neck. I don't want you to get him.
Mike
So you're saying if he had a scarf, there might cover that. I.
Andy
Or if they cut the white fur off, like, under the jawline like they normally do. But then people have that issue where they would say that star fox looked like a duck. Like, it looked like he had a beak.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
Because of, like, the. The white light fur. It just looks like he. He does have kind of that weak chin is what. Smooth in the tweet and twitch says I. That is kind of my. My issue with. With the just proportions of it, you know?
Mike
But what did you think about the game? Right. Let's get back to the game here, because we're going to talk the price about it. Right. And I know the initial reaction definitely from the panel here seemed to be centered around the character designs, but Tim highlighted. Hey, we're getting more backstory with more cutscenes talking about these characters. We're getting a prologue with Fox McCloud's dad, James McCloud. That's pretty cool, right? The game does look good on the screen. Now, of course, we'll talk about the. It's a 64 game or whatever. You want to go back to remake. But, like, what did you think of the look of the game itself?
Andy
So I thought visually, it looked awesome. It's. It's what I want, you know, a modern star fox in action to look like. However, just like I've been saying for many, many years here, if there's anybody who have Been lifelong fans of Kind of Funny or have been listening for the last five, six, seven, eight years, whatever it may be. I. I've just always had an issue with. I don't think that on Rails space shooters work for me in the year of our Lord 2026.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
Nor would they have worked for me in 2021 or 2020 or 2019. They just. It's a genre that I feel was a. It was a. It was part of its time, you know, that it was built that way because that's how they could build video games. It's very much a product of its time and it just doesn't quite work for me anymore. Similar to when I talk about stuff like Twisted Metal, Vehicular Combat. Just not my thing. It's not something that I want to play now.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
And I don't really feel any different there now. If it was a remake where none of it. Where they said, hey, we took away all the off rail stuff, we're reimagining it in a way where you are Star wars squadron style or, you know, no man's sky ship fighting or Starfield ship fighting. Hey, we have rebuilt this whole level with the intention of you being able to fly wherever and however, I'd be way more into that.
Mike
Okay. Yeah.
Andy
But yeah, I just. It doesn't really affect me a whole lot nowadays when I look at that game and go, that's something I gotta play. I have a lot of nostalgia for Star Fox 64. I just don't think that it's a game that I would want to replay even with a nicer coat of paint.
Mike
Now you say all that we talk about a remake right now we look at this. There is bells and whistles added onto this multiplayer. You have the fun face scan feature for you and your friends. Excuse me, the pricing. Where do you fall on that?
Andy
It feels right.
Mike
It feels 49.99 and 59.99 feels right.
Andy
The. The physical copy of a 59.99 feels right now. It feels right to me. For Nintendo, there's always like a Nintendo tax on stuff. Of course, Mario kart world being $80. When we talk about a lot of different games that have come out in the past several years where we say that shouldn't be that expensive. Come on, Nintendo. Yeah, this feels right to me. Because we are kind of used to that. But also, this isn't just a port remaster. This is. We are redoing every 3D asset. We are. Everything has been remade from scratch. I'm sure you Know, there may be Tim mentioning on yesterday's games, cast them switching up some of the dialogue and adding cutscenes and stuff like. Yeah, this. I think that's a solid pricing even by Nintendo standards. Yeah. For this. Okay. Now when we talk about physical stuff being more expensive, that's just the way of the world. I've. I was listening to a Christopher Dream Game Business podcast recently talking about how publishers aren't super stoked about shipping physical goods because of tariffs nowadays. And so physical stuff is just going to cost more than. Than not. And so I, you know, I look at that $10 increase on that and then unfortunately it makes sense to me in Nintendo world with Nintendo Logic and
Mike
their pricing, that's going to kind of just be the future.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
Point forward.
Andy
Yeah. I think physical stuff will always sort of cost more anyway to continue on with the story. For comparison, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book has a digital price of 59.99, while its physical counterpart will now be sold at 69.99 quote. The cost of physical games is not going up. A Nintendo spokesperson told IGN previously about the company's new pricing policy. This means that when Nintendo sells digital versions to Nintendo. When Nintendo sells digital versions of Nintendo published games exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 to consumers the US those prices will have an MSRP that is lower than their physical counterparts. Retail partners set their own prices for physical and digital games and pricing for each title may vary. Kind of makes sense to me.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
Where do you sit with the pricing?
Mike
I Wish it was $10 cheaper on both ends.
Andy
Okay.
Mike
I do. I think I'm on the lower bracket of like 39, 99, 49, 99 for the physical edition. I'm not mad at it at all. I see what they've added to this. I think I just think of like the Star Fox remake aspect of it and I go, oh, consumer friendly, little bit cheaper would have gotten more people on board. But Star Fox Nintendo kind of brings it. So I don't think this will do bad in any way. People will jump on this.
Andy
What were your feelings? Because I was. I wasn't able to listen to all of the reaction yesterday. But what were your feelings on the multiplayer?
Mike
Oh yeah, we didn't really talk about the multiplayer actually, Andy. I think that's a fun addition. Right. I think the multiplayer will be that aspect that you and I spend a night, two nights on at most. And check it out. You know what I mean? It is one of those of. Hey, as Tim brought it up, this is a 45 minute campaign it's kind of a make your own adventure. You can do more. They add a challenge mode into this. So your mileage will vary on how much you get out of this. But I think adding the multiplayer is a big benefit to the value factor. Right. I think of a game like Splatoon right to now. Splatoon is a different beast, but adding a multiplayer into a game like Star Fox that maybe people will fall in love with, be interested in. It's a simple. Only three modes, right? It's like three modes, three maps, very kind of basic. And let's see if people vibe with it.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
I like it a lot.
Andy
Now, when we talk about the. The leaks, right? The leaks sort of leading up to what these Nintendo announcements would have been. We knew that there was a Star Fox game in development and a Zelda game, right? And I remember talking to Tim about it and mentioning how both were more remakes and Tim was like, no, no, the Star Fox game is a new thing. The Zelda rumor is that it's a remake. Do we think that there's something else out there, Star Fox being developed? Something brand new?
Mike
I don't know on that one, Andy. I would say that this is probably a good test spot for it. I think the reception of the movie Star Fox to this is probably like, hey, we should make a move on this. Tim kind of talked about it of like, I just don't. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but it felt like, oh, this is Star Fox. And to me, when I think of like what Star Fox should be, it's like an Ace Combat 7. Ace Combat Type fighting in the. The aerial dog fighting. And then on the ground it should be a ratchet and clank 3D mascot platformer. Shoot him up. Right. Like I want that out of a star.
Andy
Can you imagine how amazing it would be if the on ground combat were like you mentioned Ratchet and Clank or even something Mass Effect with companions directing them to use your ability. Slippy do that. You know, Tongue lash that dude. And then Falco do that. I would love that. I would love to have a game where you are. And it doesn't have to be anything, you know, crazy expansive or whatever, but I would love to have that sort of ground to air. You know, we are swapping between both of these. You know, these are kind of our, our methods of playing the game. We're going to have our awesome, you know, moments in space. We may script some moments that, you know, add to the drama or whatever. And then when you're on the ground. It is a third person shooter. A lot of cool weapons and abilities.
Mike
That's where Nintendo would get me.
Andy
Yeah, right.
Mike
It's like a fan of Nintendo, but also like, hey, a lot of these games kind of maybe tend towards the lean towards like more kid games. I'm all right with that. I want something a little bit different. I think Star Fox would speak to me and somebody's writing in there. Mike would like adventures. Right. Which I've never played any of the Star Fox games except for 64. Right. So I don't know what his next kind of titles are. But when you think of the lineup, the movie just released, hey, we don't have that much of a budget. We don't have much time. All right, remake star Fox 64. Let's do that. Let's add in cutscenes. That seems like a win to get us next to the dates. And then, yeah, if this is good or if the team buys in and wants to make more Star Fox, I could definitely see them going, doubling down and doing this franchise.
Andy
I will say though, shout out to the foresight. Shout out to, you know, Nintendo seeing the opportunity. And I don't know which came first. I don't know whether this is a put Star Fox in the movie because we have a remake or we got a remake. I got to assume it was Put Star Fox in the movie because we
Mike
got a remake ready.
Andy
Because we're. We are working on something and you know, it's a project like this doesn't get, you know, shit out super quickly. There's a lot of like, work that gets put into that. And so. And I think of the opposite side of things and loss opportunities. And I think of something like the Fallout TV show coming out with no Fallout anywhere to be seen except for 76, getting updates and things like that. But if, if there could have been, hey, instead of us remastering Oblivion, that remaster was going to be Fallout and dropping, that would have been such a juggernaut of an event course. And I just like, you know, shout out to Nintendo for that business savvy.
Mike
Somebody was ready to rock and roll with it. Great move on that. Yeah, I be interesting to see Star Fox where it goes. Right. I don't think it's high on the franchise list of Nintendo games when you break down the list of like, hey, here are the killers that we're going to keep coming back to. But I would like to see Star Fox get some love.
Andy
I mean, if I'm going to be, you know, Insanely optimistic about this. I get. I do think that there is a pretty huge opportunity for Star Fox here for newer audiences for, you know, grandma and grandpa or whatever and mom and dad trying to buy a game for their 8 year old, 10 year old, 12 year old kids. Love like this. It's why I fell in love with Star Fox back in the day. I was like, man, this is like. I just, I love these anthropomorphic animals. This is, this rocks. I want to make my own character and have it be like in the Star Star Fox crew. And your imagination starts going wild like that. I could see a situation, I could see a scenario where this game pops off more than usual because of just this sort of surprise factor. Hey, remember that guy in the movie, the cool Fox guy? He's got his own game. Why not? Like that would be really awesome if we could get a new generation of kids super stoked about Star Fox in a way that isn't just. You're the guy in Smash Bros. You
Mike
know, fits into the portfolio.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
When you think about, think of a bunch of the games, you also have Metroid out there as well. Kind of spacey vibes, but different at the same time.
Andy
Right.
Mike
So it would be interesting to see where they go with this.
Andy
I would, I would love that if that were to happen.
Mike
Are you jumping on this game? Will you play it?
Andy
I mean, I will play to check it out, but I mean it's a very short game. Like this is something that me and my friends were beating back to back
Mike
to back to back.
Andy
I will check it out. Just because I love seeing a before and after. I love experiencing an old thing with new, you know, with a new refreshed look. We have a 20 super chat here from the amazing Glenn Stotts who says happy birthday, Snow bicycle Michael. May babies. May babies. Best babies. Go Sabers.
Mike
Shout out. Go Sabers. Big hockey right now. They're playing great up there.
Andy
Really?
Mike
Yeah, man. Big deal.
Andy
The Buff. Are they going to be let down like the Bills, you know, like Bills fans?
Mike
We don't talk about that yet. Okay, you're a Bills fan. Let's not break people's hearts yet. But did you see that? They created the Buffalo Saber. Beer saber. And now everybody in their mama.
Andy
What is it?
Mike
You haven't seen it? No. Oh, so somebody was smart enough. Maybe somebody did before Buffalo, But Buffalo sold the beer saber at the arena, which is literally a sword, but it's just a plastic tube that they put beer and people were chugging out of it. And now Everybody and their mama is doing something different like that. Right? Carolina had a hockey.
Andy
Oh wow.
Mike
Oh yeah. Everybody.
Andy
Holy shit. So it's. So they kind of are doing the, their version of the, the popcorn bucket.
Mike
Their own popcorn bucket with beer. Because people in Buffalo love drinking beer. Is right. They got a Carolina Hurricanes like full on hockey skate that you can chug out of. They got a bunch of fun ones shout out to them.
Andy
I love that. Have a super chat here from Andrew Gonzalez says finally we're not getting Paw Patrol in space like Star Fox. 0 love the direction of this remake. Wanted a new installment, but this will do for sure. Little freak with a $5 super chat says the Star Fox crew needs to be more stylized. I don't think of, I don't think of realistic looking characters and animals specifically. When I hear Nintendo, it's definitely a big change. It's something that I never thought the old garden Nintendo would have gone for. Okay. You know when I, when I, you know, listening to the audiobook of Super Nintendo from Kez McDonald talking about how when Ag Aonuma saw the super realistic. Not super realistic, but I would say realistic by Nintendo standards version of like here's what Zelda could be with the new tech and he was like, that's not, that's not my Zelda. That's not what I think of when I think of Zelda. I feel like maybe this shows that the new generation Nintendo is, is, you know, these are, these were people that grew up loving Star Fox and now they are getting to make Star Fox and they wanted to put a new spin on it and also kind of make it look like that old cover art where they're all very.
Mike
They're talking about the puppets furry animal looking.
Andy
James Peters with a five dollar super chat says Walmart has been selling the physical games in store for the same price as digital since the new switch to gaming price announcement, FYI. Oh, okay. In store.
Mike
Well then there you go. There's your opportunity to get a little bit cheaper game right there.
Andy
Portland Kevin with a five dollar super jet says Mike is correct. Star Fox 64 is a loose remake of the Super Nintendo game. For a better looking Star Fox game. For a better looking Star Fox like game you can play right now, try Rogue Flight.
Mike
Oh, that's a Star Fox like that
Andy
Star Fox like yeah, on rails type shooter, I'm assuming.
Mike
Thank you. Portland Kevin. Yeah, like I said, if you like Star Fox, you want to feel the passion, go listen to Tim. Tim had a great piece talking about
Andy
this during that gamescast story number two Jump into it Mixtape Studio says the game has no streamer mode because it lice because its license music is its soul. This comes from Chris Scullion at vgc. The studio behind Mixtape has explained why the game has no streamer mode. A number of modern games feature a streaming mode in their settings, which removes licensed music or replaces it with streaming approved music so that players can stream it on sites like Twitch without being flagged for audio copyright infringement. Mixtape, however, which is released today, doesn't have a streamer mode, which may concern some streamers given that the game soundtrack is full of licensed music from the 80s and 90s. The game's developer, Beethoven and a Dinosaur, has now posted a statement on X via publisher Annapurna Interactive explaining why there's no streaming mode. According to the studio, the licensed music is so integral to the game that removing it or replacing it with other tracks would compromise the heart of a story that it's trying to tell. Quote We've got a few questions about why Mixtape has no streamer mode, the studio said. It's a fair question. Mixtape is about music. It's about Devo. It's about the Smashing Pumpkins and Lush and Alice Coltrane. It's about how you feel when you listen to Iggy Pop. The characters talk about the songs. The levels are designed around the songs. We couldn't change the songs. We couldn't replace them. We just couldn't. If you want to, if you wanted to stream mixtape and cannot because of this, we are truly sorry. But as David Gray says in Shine, you your soul is the one thing you can't compromise. And music is the soul of mixtape. End quote. And that's one thing I you know, I was asked what I thought about there not being a streamer mode. And this was the day after we did the Mixtape gamescast podcast.
Mike
Yep.
Andy
When we had on Johnny, Johnny Galvatron and Woody Woody and the that was the question I was asked of like, do you think there'll be a streamer mode? Do you think there'll be a way to turn off copyrighted music? It's like that is the experience. There's no real way to do it. Especially when before every chapter or mainly, usually before every chapter, the main character, Stacy Rockford, says, this is the so and so song from the 1980s. It's from a band who blah blah blah. Like that's all part of it. There's no real way to kind of get around that. You can't really experience it without that. So I would Say if you're a streamer, maybe don't stream it or just play like a demo of it or play the first couple levels. I think this is an awesome experience to experience with a group of friends or a spouse. It's like one of those sort of slice of life TV shows or movies that you experience with friends.
Mike
Well, guess what? We're gonna risk it all here today. This afternoon, Mike and Nick are going to stream it live here exclusively on Twitch TV. Kind of funny games, not on YouTube, because then we're going to post it later, see what happens.
Andy
Right.
Mike
If it gets blocked. But we will be streaming it. Greg wants me and Nick to do a full playthrough. He wants Nick to play this all the way through. So I'm just there to encourage Nick to keep playing. I'm very excited about this game. Can't wait that it's dropping on my birthday. Back to streamer modes, of course. We've seen games do really good jobs with streamer modes. I think of Guardians, but also at the same time, at its core, you miss out on the. You miss out on the essence, the soul of the Guardians of the Galaxy when you put on streamer mode. Yes, it has good music that protects you from that, but at the same time, like without streamer mode. Damn. Without stream mode. Two chocolate milks.
Andy
Two chocolate milks for Snow Bike Mike.
Mike
You drink that chocolate milk.
Andy
No, it's for you. It's. It's the callback.
Mike
We have Greg Miller now invading the podcast.
Andy
Greg Miller with a dozen questions.
Mike
Krispy Kreme donuts. He's the best. And he ordered them. And he ordered them.
Andy
And I got extra chocolate because of the time that he got uptight at Roger for wanting to take the chocolate one home to Leanza. And he gave him a look like, you're pissing me off right now.
Mike
Everybody knows you get the chocolate donuts and Krispy Kreme donuts, you lose the soul and the essence of it. Right? You have to have this music. That's what this game is built around. Guardians the same way. So, yeah, I can't wait to hear this. We'll risk it all. But, Andy, I guess on the streamer side, what would you tell young streamers out there? What is the point of streamer mode? It's to protect you. From what? Rights.
Andy
Well, so streamer mode is not necessarily to protect yourself from getting taken down, because that feels a lot more rare nowadays. It's mainly to monetize the video. So if you're on Twitch, you don't get taken down in real time. But when people go back to watch the VOD on Twitch, if you leave them up, that portion of the video may be red, muted. And it may be muted. So you go to that portion, you go, oh, this section's muted. Because whatever artist, part of whatever label claim that portion of the stream, if you put it up on YouTube, however, there's, I would say, a 100% chance that that video will go up and it won't get blocked. Most likely it'll just get a, hey, you can't monetize this or we are going to share revenue with you. Or, you know, again, like, worst case scenario, maybe they're blocking in certain countries. Yeah, certain countries might block it. Right. But you know, I would say worst case scenario, you will likely not get blocked. You'll just only not be able to monetize the YouTube video. So it'll just be up there and you won't make money. But they will. The license, you know, the publishers or the labels would get the money.
Mike
Game is getting fantastic reviews right now. Go check them out. Andy, you put out a really nice tweet earlier today about the game because you had already played this game.
Andy
Yes, yes, I had. When we did the mixtape games, cast a lot of chocolate right there for you, Greg.
Mike
Get in there.
Andy
The mixtape review will be up next. But I won't be on that because I got a lot of stuff. So we try to let you know, pace us out. But when I was on the gamescast with Tim, we were told that, hey, you can't say that you've played the whole game. So we had to act like we had. We had to lie, Mike. They asked us to sin. It's the original sin. Lying. I love lying to you, Roger. I love lying to you, Roger. And I had to act like I'd only played a demo of it like, much like Tim did, but we had both actually played all of it and beaten it. And it's. It's deserving of all those scores. I, for me, it's. It's hard to put a score on it, honestly, but it'd be around like a 10 or nine. Like, it is like, nailed it. A must play, must buy. Experience it by yourself. Experience it with a. A loved one who maybe doesn't with a whole lot of video games and just wants to experience something really cool and interactive and gamified in some ways, but just a beautiful love letter to your past, really. Like this game is gonna make you feel. It's gonna. It's gonna hit you in a lot. But I would say more importantly the writing of this game is just so good and impressive. I love the writing in this game. Like I mentioned to Tim on that games cast, it's the same way I felt after, after and while playing something like Citizen Sleeper 1 and 2 where I'm like damn I wish I could just clone you and have you write for everything. I wish that I could get Johnny Galvatron to write for a million other different games because I think the quality is so great. It is so endearing and full of heart and funny as hell. Like it is so witty and quippy. There was never a moment where I'm like ah. That you know. Not unlike our Mortal Kombat 2 experience where there were a couple moments where I'm like why would you say that? That's not a good line of dialogue. This one I'm just like ah, this experience is amazing. Support art man. Like this game deserves it. They deserve it. This is not paid. If we're ever sponsored by stuff you have to say. So we are not being paid to say any of this. I just love this experience. So look forward to the full games cast after this where Blessing Tim and Greg will be talking all about their mixtape experience.

What?
Mike
Did you hear the phone, Andy?
Andy
No.
Mike
The people are calling you.
Andy
For what?
Mike
They said the city is calling. When you return to Batman, Arkham City, we want to see it.
Andy
I mean, it won't. It won't happen anytime soon because I'll tell you what does begin on Saturday. Oh, the Witcher DLC. Mike's gonna complain 30th by playing it. I've never played the DLC. I gotta play the DLC.
Mike
You were supposed to just keep going into the DLC.
Andy
No, it's too long.
Mike
You're like, oh my. I gotta put you on ice for three and a half months. Just keep playing it, nerd.
Andy
I got.
Mike
I mean, I had to deal with
Andy
you saying that, you know, you're playing this too much. I Had to back off of it. You were right. I was playing it. I just got so addicted.
Mike
Sometimes you just get lost in it.
Andy
Heart and stone and then blood and wine.
Mike
Yeah, right. You gotta do all of them. Yeah, yeah.
Andy
And they're gonna be some meaty ass experiences. But what's happening tonight, Mike?
Mike
I'm playing Wind Waker because I'm deep in a Z hole. I'm playing so much Zelda, I. You and I were just gaming, bro. We're just having fun.
Andy
We're just gaming. We're just gaming.
Mike
I'm playing Zelda mixtape. I'm going to play with Nick today. We got Forza right around the corner. Super excited for James Bond at the end of the month. We're gaming, you and I.
Andy
And this has nothing to do with any of the stories today, but okay. I do want to mention that I'm about four hours in to Alabaster Dawn.
Mike
Oh, you talked about this? Yeah.
Andy
Kevin, can you give me a YouTube search on Alabaster Don Ala B A S T E R The best speller. Kind of funny dog this game, man. I. This is the best feeling Top down action game.
Mike
Currently has a demo, $21 on Steam on sale right now.
Andy
It is an action RPG game made by the developers from Cross Code. Okay. I believe they're Radical Fish Games is the name of the developer. Or maybe that's a publisher.
Mike
No, you nailed it.
Andy
Okay. Brush it. Alabaster dawn is a top down action RPG that reminds me of all of my favorite things. Combat wise about Hyper Light Drifter. But it is just so much more refined because so many years have gone by since we've done that sort of style of combat and the, the. The style of art. The writing is awesome. I love the dialogue, I love the character so far. The combat is so killer. The combat in this game rocks. It is just like a Diablo. No, it.
Mike
It is Diablo.
Andy
It's much like Cross Code. It's very similar to like what you would think of as a modern top down Zelda game.
Mike
Oh, okay.
Andy
Okay. With dodges, with parries, with movesets that expand and you continue on your moveset, you unlock new moves that you're not just like continuing the same combo. Now if you hold. Now if you hold attack after tapping it once, now you do like a swipe and then since you're holding it on the second time, you do a flurry of stabs and then a bit like. It is so great the way that the combat expands, but this game is like one that I immediately am like holy Shit. Go support this.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
It's. It is early access, I believe.
Mike
Tell me about the early access. What is.
Andy
I believe the dev said that there is about five to ten hours of content. Like story content. It's a story game. This isn't a, you know, anything that's trying to be like a multiplayer type or anything like that. It's just a. It's a single player top down action rpg. And I love the art style so much because it looks so much like a. Just a straight up 2D pixel art game. And a lot of the environments are 2D pixel art, but the characters themselves are 3D models. Okay, but they're just like. But they are comprised of like 2D assets that are on top of the 3D model. So whenever they. It looks like it's all just hand drawn animations and stuff. But it's really, really convincingly well done 2D sprites on top of a 3D model. And just the way that the. The. I don't know, there's just so much cool like skill and. And artful like ex expertise behind all of it. I love the way the characters look, the way they feel, the way they move and the main character you play. I just like. I want to keep on playing as her. I want to see what happened. It's one of the coolest openings to a game. I immediately had to tell Tim and Greg like. Well, Greg was already stoked to play it. I had to tell Tim. Look, I know you're not. You weren't planning on playing this. Just play the intro for me because it's sick as fuck and it just reminds me of like being a kid and playing a really awesome JRPG from back in the day on Super Nintendo or PS1. I cannot sing this game's praises enough. It rocks. Everybody go support this one.
Mike
The initial early access version will include the story up until the middle of chapter two with a total playtime of about six to ten hours. Additionally it will feature an optional rogue light side story to add more replayability.
Andy
Yeah, I did see that. That was one thing that I assumed was happening. Similar to no Rest for the Wicked. How no Rest for the Wicked is trying to do a big sort of campaign story style game. But there's also in world a roguelite thing that isn't just like you going into the menus and going to roguelite mode. It is something that is happening in world and has like lore purposes. And I don't know if that's the case here, but I did see in the menu that you could, you know, use your accessibility to to have an extra re roll for skills. I was like, oh, is there going to be some sort of roguelite element to this? And it does seem like yes, this is going to be a campaign story game, but I think it's like genius for an early access game to have a roguelite element to keep players in and have them continue playing and give them more value. I think, you know, run good on the Steam deck. Yeah, runs phenomenally on Steam deck. Yeah, yeah, runs awesome. Story number three take two CEO is deeply disappointed by BioShock 4's delays this comes from Cade under at IGN take two CEO Strauss Zelnick is just as disappointed as the rest of us when it comes to the never ending development of the next BioShock game. For years, a team known as Cloud Chamber has been working on what is tentatively referred to as BioShock 4. While some games can take as many as four or five years to make, BioShock 4 has been in the works since at least 2019 when the project was announced, but it has likely been even longer than that. Cloud Chamber went through some restructuring last year to get BioShock 4 on track for release, but no one knows when it is expected to come out. Take two CEO Strauss Elnick was asked by Game Files Steven Totila if he was surprised by how long it has taken to make BioShock 4. He noted that it's hard to be surprised when he sees the inner workings firsthand, but he is disappointed. Surprised never says Zelnick. Think about what surprise implies, zelnick said. That's like one day everything's awesome and the next day I'm like holy shit. And I don't run the business that way. But if you're saying I'm But I think if you're saying disappointed, yes, deeply disappointed. Zelnick also addressed why it's taking so long and noted that BioShock 4 may have gone down some paths that didn't pan out, resulting in setbacks. I think in retrospect wasted a lot of time and money chasing down some creative alleys that turn out to be dead ends, he said. It was reported last year that BioShock 4's biggest issues revolved around its narrative and the team was taking measures to overhaul the story. 2K Games stated at the time that it believed it had a good game, but was making efforts to deliver a great game that would meet fan expectations. Mike, what say you listening to the story? I know Tim came in here, may
Mike
have a yeah, Tim is a Fun one there. What do you think Tim's favorite donut is? That's a side conversation. He grabbed the. The powdered sugar jelly donut.
Andy
Okay.
Mike
Felt very dad like of him.
Andy
Is it the apple one?
Mike
I believe did look at it going like these aren't my kind of donuts. So it is interesting. Like what is Tim's favorite donuts?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
There's not a single just plain glazed in there.
Andy
Well, they fucked up the order then, did they? Yeah, I ordered two playing. Unless Greg already grabbed them.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Doesn't look like. I think this is the first one taken. I appreciate it.
Andy
Is that the single plain glazed?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
No, there wasn't any.
Mike
I was shocked.
Andy
So they're there.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Open that up. Look at, look at what we got going on.
Andy
Is there a jelly donut? So they with the order then? Because I ordered. Okay.
Mike
Okay, good. I knew, I knew something was plain glazed guy. That's what I thought.
Andy
Sorry about that.
Mike
No, back to this story. It is very interesting and I think there's lofty expectations for BioShock and I think that's the big catch on. This is like to return to BioShock, to return to a number of big time franchises that we're going to see here soon. Mass Effect looking at you. Right? Of course. Ken Levine with his own game that is very bios, BioShock esque. Right. Like there are lofty expectations and we saw this like trying to bring back a franchise that's quite old. Like Bioshock for sure. That's like, hey, how's the old heads? We're into that. But like the younger generation, do they know BioShock? Will they connect with this? Will they want to play this? It is tough to probably nail down and like make it great. And I think that's what we're going to see with this studio opened in 2019. So they've been working for a long time trying to figure out where this is at. And as you know, right. You take one misstep writing gameplay wise, well, it's going to take a long time to get back to ground zero, restart and pick up over there. So yeah, this seems on par for what I would expect of like this is a lofty game, this is a big franchise. It's going to be hard to bring back and make great.
Andy
Completely agree. Especially because when I think of Bioshock Mike, I think of a game that usually wants to have a strong message tied to it. It's not just a gameplay shooter. You're not just pumping out, you know, it's going to sound Like, I'm downplaying the development of something like a new Wolfenstein. But you're not just going, okay, kill Nazis, give the character a story, whatever, Right? Like this. Every BioShock usually wants to have a really strong theme or twist or awesome thing that it's revolving around in addition to the cool powers, to the cool gunplay, to the interesting villains and, and enemies. But it's got to be so nerve wracking to try to make a fourth version of this game where you're not saying this isn't just a new far cry, where we say, whatever, throw them in whatever new region, oppressive regime, you got to fight back and liberate the people. This isn't that. This is. This has got to be more. And players expect more from something like BioShock. And I would love to be a fly on the wall and wonder and ask them, like, what were the creative missteps that you mentioned? Yeah, the creative alleys that you went down that ended up being dead ends. I want to. Were they just gameplay related or were they. Holy, we're gonna do the story thing. Damn. Nope, it's a little too close to home. It's a little too similar to maybe what's happening in this day and age. Or maybe it's just a villain that, you know, the writing wasn't strong enough on that. Yeah, yeah.
Mike
No, Andy, you said it so well. It is the message. It is the, oh, wow, the full circle moment when I think of BioShock, right? It is that first person shooter, immersive sim mixed with the special powers. That's all well and great and I think they can nail that gameplay wise. But yeah, at the end of the day, it's got to kind of at the end of it all go, oh wow. They were going outside of what I was even thinking. And of course. Right, follow me with this one. Ken lavine was the former head and face the mind of this game. So like, he's not around now, Right. He's making almost what BioShock is probably going to be. Right. So it's like now you have competition in that area as well. That's a tough one for sure.
Andy
Yeah, he headed up BioShock 1 and Infinite and I think. I don't know fully, but I know that he was a big part of two, but I think he was working maybe on Infinite at the time while he was being developed. Correct me if I'm wrong, Chad, in kind of funny dot com, you're wrong. But then, yes, eventually when, when he left 2k and I'm blanking on the name of the studio. Red. Red something. I'll look it up right now. Maybe. Maybe there's red not even in the name. I don't know why I'm going to Red Ghost Story Games. Well, Ghost Story Games is the new place where he's making Judas.
Mike
Oh, oh, okay. I think something else.
Andy
Okay, I'm blanking upset. But I did. I will say this. I applied to work there back in the day.
Mike
Okay. Really?
Andy
Yeah. Didn't get an interview unfortunately. Maybe they'll call Irrational is the name. I'm seeing the word Red and like Red fits like the R A T and Irrational. Yeah, that's what I was thinking about.
Mike
I was gonna go Red Barrel because
Andy
I think close story number five Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth didn't get story DLC, but part three could if fans want it, Director says this comes from Chris Colleen @BGC the third part of Final Fantasy Remake Trilogy Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy could get extra story DLC after release if there's enough fan enthusiasm for it, the series director says. When the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released in 2020, it received an enhanced update called Intergrade the following year, which included a new story expansion called Episode intermission. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, however, didn't receive a story expansion with Square Enix instead turning its attention to the third game in late 2024. Series director Naoki Hamaguchi explained that Rebirth didn't get any major story DLC because fans, quote, want to see the third part of a series as quickly as possible. Now, in a new interview with NTower, Hamaguchi has further explained the decision to not release story DLC for Rebirth, while also noting that the DLC for Part three could be possible depending on how well the third game is received. Quote when it came to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we seriously considered the possibility of developing a story DLC right up until immediately before the project officially moved on or moved into the planning phase, hamaguchi explained. However, within the context of its long term trilogy, we concluded that running development of the second installment's DLC in parallel with the third installment would inevitably affect the third game's schedule and overall quality. At that point, I believe my primary role was to not add dlc, but to deliver the third entry to fans as quickly as possible at a level of polish they would find satisfying. For that reason, we decided to forgo story DLC for Rebirth. As for DLC beyond the third installment, I believe that will ultimately depend on how strongly fans continue to support Final Fantasy vii both as a title and a franchise. If there is significant demand, we'd certainly be open to exploring those possibilities proactively. Snowback Mike.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
When the day finally comes and we are hanging with the Catman, Cait Sith
Mike
and the dog boy, Vincent Valentine. No, Red 13.
Andy
There you go. Vince Valentine turns into. Yeah, he has like a thing.
Mike
He's Dracula.
Andy
Yeah, some. Yes, something like that. Will you be screaming from the rooftops for more dlc or is it going to be one of those situations where you say I don't need it right now?
Mike
Oh, no, Andy. We'll be screaming more DLC. We are will 100% be saying, hey, we love this world, we love the characters, we Love Final Fantasy 7 and what you did with the remakes, making it modern, bringing it back. Give me more. It will be very interesting. Of like when I think of Final Fantasy, I think of all the numbers, all the entries, all the games. Right. But there's a couple of them of like these are the mainstay names here. These are the what the people want. They're clearly continue going to build off of Final Fantasy 7. Right. Like more DLC, more stories, more character backstories, whatever it is. I don't see us ending Final Fantasy 7 after the third. After the third game here.
Andy
Right. Do you think there's an opportunity that they see an opportunity to maybe brush up on some old, you know, after entry games like the Vincent Valentine game?
Mike
I think so. I think people will want to stay in this world. I think they're going to want to stay with these characters and whatever you can give them. I think it's a big deal. Right. I think first off, I love that they skipped DLC after two and went straight to three.
Andy
Right.
Mike
I think there was such a. For me and playing it with you, it was like, I'm ready for the next one. Let's go. Like let's get this thing going. Especially knowing that number three is going to be the finale. We're going to wrap up this story. It will be something epic. Right. And so like that two to three having a shortened time before be between that I appreciate. So great job skipping the dlc. You could easily done that. Right. Integrate following Yuffie story. I really liked that. I thought that was good. Right. Does add on production time. It makes things go slower. But you could have given me a Vincent Valentine backstory there. You could have gone a little bit deeper with Kate Sith if you wanted to with a dlc. Sure. But like we want to get to the finale after That I don't think there's a world where people would be like, enough. Final Fantasy 7. We're good now.
Andy
Yeah, I. I don't disagree that when Final Fantasy 3, you know, remake part three comes out, that that'll be the end of it. I think there's too much love there. I think there's too much love for the franchise. I'm not saying that, you know, we're. We're getting close to like another remake talk or whatever. I just think that at the end of the journey, there will be other avenues that they've maybe always wanted to explore but didn't have maybe resources or whatever. And. And I think that once this final thing happens, I think we'll likely get some sort of collector's edition pack of all three or something like that, just to kind of get more fans in. And then I would love to see. You know, I know when Dirge of Cerberus came out back in the day, that's the Vincent Valentine sort of, you know, side story. And that's more of like an action rpg. And I never played it, but I was always like, this dude looks sick as fuck. I want to play this video game. I wonder if they see this as an opportunity to maybe go back to that and you know, similar to what they did with Crisis Core. Let's try to, you know, make things better. Let's try to improve it in some way or modernize it in some ways.
Mike
But that's cool. I didn't know he had a video game. I. I don't know much about this world, so I'm learning it as we go. But yeah, I think of the main characters. Right. Tifa, Right. You think of all these. Cloud, sure. But like Avalanche can be an Avalanche, like prequel story of how they came together. Maybe shenanigans with Jesse and Pizza Wedge and like have some fun. But like the characters there all lead to. You could give people more and they would be there for it.

Story number 6 Expedition 33 publisher launches high end Reset game magazine. This comes from Matt Gardner at Forbes Kepler Interactive, the London based publisher that has found overwhelming success with games such as Sifu, Tia, Pacific Drive and the multi award winning Clara Obscura. Expedition 33 is expanding beyond digital releases with the launch of a new print magazine, Reset. The biannual publication aims to pace video games at the heart of its cultural landscape, arriving at a time when the industry is increasingly moving beyond debates over artistic legitimacy and toward broader cultural influence. With Reset, Kep1er is making a case for games as A part of the Wired creative conversation spanning fashion, music, architecture and design. Reset will be overseen by Simon Sweeney, Creative director at Kepler Interactive, an Irish born designer and art director whose past work includes projects for FKA, Twigs, the VNA, Andre 3000 and the the Barbican. I don't know what that is. Reset is in his first rodeo on the printed scene. He also created Raid which invented which invited designers to create and develop identities for fictional games. Quote with the world moving more towards digital and ephemeral ways of communication and interaction, we're making. We're really interested in creating something tactile and physical that people can engage with, something beautiful that can have a place in their home that they can hold in their hand, says Sweeney. We're also interested in the permanence of a printed object, something solid that can be referenced in the future. Perhaps Reset's most interesting editorial choice is its focus on individuals rather than specific titles or franchises. Quote Our focus is not so much on the work itself or that or heavily reliant on ip, but on the individual. Sweeney explains. We also want to elevate how game designers and developers are celebrated and represented. Our approach is to make the magazine feel almost more like a fashion publication, end quote. He intends for Reset to be an ongoing publication with a biannual release schedule and a focus on expanding its contributor contributor network. That's when I first hear about this news. Mike.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
And I don't know what the direction is, but I do see biannual. My, my mind immediately goes to. You're going to be talking about a lot of developers and games that get shut down and are snap and aren't around for the following issue or whatever. I think biannual kind of odd like release schedule. Are you releasing one in January and then one in June or like that? That seems kind of odd and not frequent enough, I don't think.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
It feels like more like you're just kind of just selling a book every six months.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
What say you about a book? Trying to this magazine trying to say hey, we're not really just about the. The current dialogue on the games industry. You want to be about like how culturally games are.
Mike
Yeah. I think it's pretty cool and different and neat.
Andy
Right.
Mike
When I look at their website and I see the photos of the magazine opened up and I see the different images and the articles over here on the side. It's like this screams you and a very cool hip, different. Right.
Andy
It's got, it's got the visual.
Mike
Yeah, for sure. It's got Some stunning visuals. Like Hideo Kojima is reading, right? Yeah, like that. When I look at this, I'm like, oh, that's what this is. And I think there is a market for that. I think a lot of people below like hold on dearly to their old school Nintendo powers and those moments of getting that monthly magazine. This feels a little different than that, but it feels like it's like, hey, what if you were more sophisticated and elevated of like, we're gonna give you something really. Greg and Jen would read this.
Andy
Oh my God. Yeah, that you leave it on the coffee table.
Mike
Greg and Jen are going to be reading this? Yeah.
Andy
I think with how nicely so much of the pages are designed. Can you send that to Assets?
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
Kevin. Or here we go. Kevin brought it up. I think with how nicely so much of this looks and is designed, it feels like like you're kind of just buying a. Not really this publication, not really a magazine. You. You are buying just like a. Almost an art book of a. A coffee table thing that you put down. And maybe you don't really open a whole lot, but it looks really cool because the COVID is super nice and
Mike
it'll be interesting to hear the stories. Right. Like mixtape could fit into this and have a cool story with Johnny Galvatron and Woody probably talking about maybe the music and that kind of design in this. I could see that filling in a couple of pages really well.
Andy
Wow. You can buy. It's $28 and you can get optional different covers for it.
Mike
I feel like that's Woody right there. When I say Woody, that guy with the shower head over his head.
Andy
Oh, gosh.
Mike
Woody.
Andy
Yeah, I feel that. The curly hair. I see the curly hair. Yeah, wavy hair. Well, this. This magazine could be huge.
Mike
Mike could be huge.
Andy
But I'm tired of all that big news. If I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
Mike
Andy, I take you to our last story, the WE News channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about
Andy
from game developer. There it is. From game developer Clinton Hawking, former creative director at LucasArts and Ubisoft for projects like Far Cry 2 has started a independent game studio announced yesterday via LinkedIn. Hawking wants his studio build machine games to expand the expressive range and power of The Medium Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 launches this summer. I'm pretty pumped about that.
Mike
Good for them. I liked Fireteam 4 player PvE1 right there. Nice. Yeah, that's good for them.
Andy
You know, Stopping waves Of aliens. I had a blast with that. Me, Mike and Greg played it. Then I played a separate time with blessing and Alana had a great time with it. This is one that we should definitely put on the board for that little party mode.
Mike
This Friday you're gonna have a fun party mode.
Andy
Tomorrow we're playing Far Far West.
Mike
Far Far West. You've been pumped up about that one. That's right.
Andy
Super stoked about it. Pragmata has sold 2 million units in 16 days. Awesome shout out to Capcom.
Mike
Getting pragmatic too. You believe?
Andy
Oh, yeah, I think so.
Mike
This will become a franchise.
Andy
I think so. I hope so.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
From WCCFTEP Tech, GameStop Canada has been sold, acquired by McFarlane Toys. Co owner Stephen Tetral will relaunch his EB Games Canada. Bringing the EB back. I like that.
Mike
Yeah. I don't know if it ever. Did it ever leave.
Andy
Well, I mean, I gotta assume that in Canada. I think it's still EB.
Mike
That's what I thought. Yeah.
Andy
Yeah.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
But GameStop Canada, maybe they're just trying to get that EB name back.
Mike
I think they're trying to buy ebay.
Andy
Oh, I did hear about this. They're not having. Where are you getting the money from? We're gonna pay cash and stocks. Okay, but. Okay, but still, like Mike, how are you gonna buy this thing? Pay with cash. But you don't have that. We could always issue more. That's highly illegal. We'll get more, man. Apple Arcade launches four new games. Nick Jr reply per Chang World. Good Pizza Great plus and Ultimate 8 Ball Pool plus and Skull and Bones has revealed its three. Its year three roadmap. Damn, they're still doing that? Still going good for them. Did that pirate survival game coming in clean. Windrows.
Mike
Windrows. A lot of people like Windrows right now.
Andy
People are into it. They're saying like, hey, this is kind of what I was hoping.
Mike
Well, we've held off.
Andy
What's the. What's the rare?
Mike
Sea of Thieves.
Andy
Sea of Thieves.
Mike
Yeah. You and I are holding off, unfortunately, because Subnautica 2 has finally been dated and slated and it's next week.
Andy
I think we just cancel everything.
Mike
Stop everything.
Andy
Stop everything for a whole week.
Mike
I love that.
Andy
Just stay. Just stay in the studio.
Mike
Just keep playing.
Andy
Get smelly and stinky in there. And that's it for we news. Let's get to our super chats. And some your wrongs you can write into. Kind of funny forward slash. Kind of funny.com forward slash. Your wrong to Let us know what we got wrong with the show. Zeke, speak with a five dollar Super Chat says been getting physical Game Informers and it's been awesome. Recent cover was gorgeous. Oh yeah, the recent one was really, really nice. Fuck. Well, I'm blanking on it, but I have it on my desk.
Mike
Coming to you.
Andy
I'm blanking on it.
Mike
What would it be?
Andy
I don't remember.
Mike
Okay, shout out to the. To the restart of Game Informer. It's been fantastic.
Andy
Oh, it was Soul Frame. I don't have that issue. Then where the. My Soul Frame one. I have the one prior to that. Oh, you know what? My card has been getting declined everywhere because it like expired.
Mike
The.
Andy
A lot of these websites still have the old expiration date and everything because once they issue a new one. So I bet you I didn't get the Soul Frame one.
Mike
Yeah, Pontan, one of the community members out there made me give my credit card information to a sketchy website. Chris. Like I said, I should probably cancel my Ponton. But we, we had a lot of fun last night. So it was worth A$99.
Andy
The former one is Invincible. Yeah, I think that's the one. I have Invincible. I'm so excited for Soul Frame. When are we going to play Warframe?
Mike
Warframe? Yeah. But then bless goes. I want to wait for Soul Frame. It's like pick a lane, big cat.
Andy
Well, Soul Frame is really far away.
Mike
He thinks it's soon.
Andy
I don't.
Mike
I'd say we just play Warframe.
Andy
I think. I think Soul Frame sometime next year. Okay. We have plenty of time to play a week of Warframe with as much content as they have there. El Creek 97 with a five dollar super chat says birthday tax. Happy birthday to me and Mike.
Mike
Happy birthday to you.
Andy
Are you gonna go across the street and ask the. Ask the employee when his birthday is?
Mike
I did. I did that yesterday. What do you like to do for your birthday? Sleep. Poor Charlie. He was having a bad day.
Andy
What about you? Well, tomorrow is mine.
Mike
Yeah, I was like low key, like sliding it by him, you know, I mean. Yeah, just let him know. Just let him know. It's just.
Andy
I mean, it's Snowback, Michael Scott. Like,
Mike
why are we talking about birthdays? Just so you know.
Andy
I mean, I just saw the episode of him calling, you know, the woman he's into and like, happy birthday. It's on my birthday, Michael. Really? I thought we had the same birthday. Happy birthday, Michael. Yeah, thank you. It's me, you man.
Mike
Sancho West.
Andy
Sancho West. Happy Birthday West. Absolutely, Mr.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Beast.
Andy
Oh, that's right. Holy danger. Daddy D with a five dollar super chat says, Bioshock is my favorite game of all time. I think once Levine left, studios completely lost on where to go with story setting and how to modernize. Yeah, I don't disagree. I think I. I think a lot of teams can still kind of pick up that slack, but I think Bioshock's just such a weird franchise to try to make another one of because it has infinite too. It has to. The story has to be the strength of a Bioshock game.
Mike
Got crazy after that one. Yeah.
Andy
Zach with a five dollar super chat says, happy birthday, Mike. By the way, I think Annie's filling you up with Red Bull chocolate milk and donuts. So you slip into a diabetic coma and he doesn't have to go golf with you.
Mike
And he saw the doctor's report. I'm in the green, he's in the green.
Andy
He's immortal.
Mike
It's gonna take a lot more than this to get me into the red.
Andy
Just so you know, he is immortal. Remember that time when you drank about seven Red Bulls?
Mike
Yeah. Exciting thing. You know what I mean? I'm sorry. To Red Bull as well. They were like, don't drink that many. And I drank that.
Andy
It was like 20, 21. You drank like six or six or something.
Mike
Like one night excited, and then you
Andy
were out for the next week. You're like, I can't play games.
Mike
Fighting it. Fighting the devil.
Andy
Struggling. Alex Frazier with a five dollar super chat says, I just bought both Alabaster dawn and mixtape. What a great day for any. Nice. I hope you have fun.
Mike
How many great. So many games out there. Yeah, I bought Tekken last week. Alongside. Here's a bite and magic. Olden age. Too many games.
Andy
Yeah, we're playing. We got some redacted, but Alabaster dawn has taken most of my time.
Mike
I still got to play pragmata. Play a little mouse you like.
Andy
Fragrant for hire.
Mike
A lot of games.
Andy
Claw Master with a two dollar super chat says Andy. Thoughts on last night's win over the Wolves? I mean, you expected them to bounce back. Great coaching for Mitch Johnson. And apparently Pop was in the tape room.
Mike
Yeah, if I'm Pop, I'm there.
Andy
Pop is in the tape room going, let's fix this, this, this and that. And Mitch Johnson's like, you got it.
Mike
You got it, Pop, how do we become coaches? Would you be willing to sacrifice a Tuesday and Thursday night to head coach a local high school basketball team? With me
Andy
if you could get me
Mike
on the court in hopes that we get good enough to then get called up the college and NBA basketball and we become head coaches.
Andy
I think never say never. But man, you know, because it's your birthday, I'll let you have whatever delusional fantasies that you want. We have a couple super chats here from Peacock. Thank you for the 10. Super chat says birthday tax present from my boy Snowback. Mike, you're a wild one. I love it.
Mike
Thanks, bro.
Andy
Give this directly to Mike. And get that man more milk and donuts. Psycho. We should be together too. Go Flyers. And also says shout out to Andy
Mike
for the birthday presents.
Andy
Also says games and margs to celebrate. Hi, Dan. And it's a super chat saying it's two separate super chats and I thought it was just like a copy of each other, but it's not. They're very different games. Thank you for the endless content. My bad. With a super chat says playing mixtape right now reminds me of the magical experience when I played Journey and what remains of Edith Finch for the first time. That's high praise, right?
Mike
Nice.
Andy
And a final super chat from Jake Collado saying birthday tax turning the big three zero today. Thanks. Kind of funny for keeping me focused at work while keeping me up to date with all game news. You guys and the YouTube chat are awesome. Cheers, lads. Go May babies. Happy birthday to you, Jay Colado. Thanks for your support. Shout out to Nightlife for your two dollar super chat as well. Let's go to. You're wrong.
Mike
What do they got for us?
Andy
Yep, in the kind of funny dot com. You're wrong. Let's see here. Not a whole lot. You were just like questions. Just people asking questions. EB Games name does in fact live on in Australia and formerly New Zealand too. That's from Kebabs.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
Another we knew says Steam controller reservations begin tomorrow. Or like new seen Cuzola reservations because they sold out.
Mike
Get your pre order. Are you in? Where you at?
Andy
I have mine.
Mike
Oh, you have one?
Andy
Yeah, they sent me the. The re. I've been using the review copy and I'll tell you what.
Mike
Oh, okay, nice.
Andy
Here's the thing, man. I. I underestimated how much it would feel like a video game console experience when you turn on that thing and then it vibrates, it goes. And it just felt so right. And what I did was I plugged in my Steam deck dock, okay, into my tv, put that sucker in there, connected the Steam controller to it and I just sat and I was like Damn. I, I want a Steambox so badly now. Like, I, I, I felt like this isn't just this, this disparate experience of a bunch of moving parts on PC. This felt like a, this felt like a whole experience. Like, you know, I was like, I am playing a console PC right now. It felt awesome. I love that controller and it, I really want a Steam box now. And I hope they help hurry up and make that Steam machine. Thank you to everybody for chatting in with your super chats and with your wrongs. Stay tuned. After this, we have the mixtape gamescast review. We're blessing. Greg and Tim will let you know all how they feel. I'm sorry. I saw Kevin walk into the room and I was like, oh, what's happening? Where they will let you know how they feel about mixtape. Then after that, after that we have an in review.
Mike
Yeah.
Andy
For Mortal Kombat 2. What the.
Mike
Man, that shit's gonna be lit. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Andy
I, I'm really stoked to sort of like gush about this movie.
Mike
Okay.
Andy
Or maybe on it. Who knows?
Mike
Who knows? Who knows how we're gonna tell you yet. And then after that, what's happening? Mike and Nick play mixtape.
Andy
Oh.
Mike
Full playthrough with Nick Scarpino.
Andy
Only on Twitch. Exclusively only on Twitch. Thank you, Barrett for that clarification because
Mike
we're worried about thank you.
Andy
About the DMCA takedown. So, Mike, Mike, Happy birthday.
Mike
Thank you, Andy. You are my best friend. I love spending time with you. I wish I could spend every single day of my life with you.
Andy
And luckily it's a lot.
Mike
I get to spend about five out of the seven days a week.
Andy
It's a little too much.
Mike
It's my favorite.
Andy
I had to get the two chocolate milks because of the time that you looked at me during the Hollow night Silk Song Stream. And as I'm ordering donuts, you said, give me a chocolate milk. And then you looked at me and you gave me a two finger. You said, give me two chocolate milk. And Roger said, no, don't get him two. Don't get him to just get him one. He's not going to get you two. And then Mike said, no, he's going to get me too. He knows better. I'll get up tight.
Mike
Yes.
Andy
And that's just an all timer. Another all timer. Thank you everybody for watching this. Has been kind of funny. Games Daily. Happy birthday, Snowbike. Mike. It has been our pleasure to serve you.
