to patreon.com kindafunny Today's gaming news stories include a leak suggests four Steam Machine packages will be available at launch. PlayStation exec says there's no dire times ahead for the industry and the Tekken boss Harada joins snk. Love all this more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games daily for Tuesday, May 12, 2026. I'm one of your host blessing Addie Oye Jr joining me is the master of hype, Snowbike Mike.
Snowbike Mike
Good morning. Bless. How are you today?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Doing well. How are you doing?
Snowbike Mike
I'm feeling good. I'm a little tired. Half step behind. I've been playing a lot of video games late at night lately, so getting to my bedtime little bit later every single evening.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'll be honest, I'm in the exact same place.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And I'm an extra step behind because my alarm didn't go off this morning. I think maybe I had changed it a few days ago or something. I forgot to turn it back on. But I woke up maybe, maybe the latest I've ever wake waking up for work, which isn't that bad. Like I Woke up at 8:30. It's okay. Yeah, just hop in the shower. Do my.
Snowbike Mike
I mean I caught you as you walked into the studio and there was a little more pep in your step. There was a little bit of like I gotta get in this door right now.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I was like, okay. Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yes. And still very early. I'm not all the way on yet,
Snowbike Mike
but I'm like, okay, I'm gonna warm up. Bless. How are you doing today?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Doing good, Doing good. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
It's nice to host a show with you. Haven't seen you in a little bit. You went to Magicon. Of course. We caught up after that. You now have seen Stranger Than Heaven, which got you kind of on a Yakuza. Yeah. I saw you play Yakuza 0. How did that go?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
So it was fun because I remember I talked about this on street in the Heaven that I booted up Yakuza 0 before I went, I got home and I was like, man, I want to play some More Yakuza. And then, yeah, toward. I think it was Friday or something like that, I was like, you know what? Let's do it. I streamed a little bit of it. I thought I owned it digitally. I didn't. And then I went to the store and I was like, can I buy this thing? And it was like, I think $50. I was like, I don't know if I'm going to buy Yakuza 0 for $50 right now. And then I was like, wait. I played Yakuza 0 when I was still on the physical games train. And so I went in my games bucket, dug out the PlayStation 4 disc for Yakuza 0, put that in my PS5 and yeah, I started playing the PS4 version.
Snowbike Mike
Nice.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I only played about an hour and I enjoyed it for the hour. Right. It being the PS4 version and not the director's cut. Doesn't have the translation. Doesn't look as amazing, but it doesn't look bad by any means. It looks like a PS4 game, which honestly holds up pretty well. But I was in for that first hour and I would like to go back. What I'm going to do is going to try and get the complete or the director's cut on PC so I can play on my Steam deck. Because I think that might be. I think that might fix my Yakuza issues.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I can have it handheld.
Snowbike Mike
Just whenever you want it. Whenever you need it, it's right there. Exactly you want.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Are you going to jump in? Are you going to play some Yakuza? I would love.
Snowbike Mike
I have done the Like a Dragons. So both Ichiban stories and I did like a dragon pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. So those are my so far. I will one day lock myself in the stream. Stream room and play through all the Yakuzas. What if me, I'm building towards what
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
if me and you, we. We become the Yakuza brothers? But when we don't include Roger, he
Snowbike Mike
would be very mad at you. I know. And his wedding is coming up. He'd be very mad at me.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
What if he did it during his wedding? What do you mean? You don't go, oh my. Stayed back and played Yakuza.
Snowbike Mike
You know what? That would be standard mic procedure. So he wouldn't be mad at me. He'd be mad at you on that one.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, Roger could never be mad at me. You know what I mean? He would definitely be mad at you. Just so you know, Roger could never be mad at me.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. One day I'll jump in Bless. Other than that, I'm having fun. I'm playing through Wind Waker right now. Have been having adoring Wind Waker. I love the cartoon art style. I love Link right now or whoever this hero in green is. I love sailing the seven seas. I'm having a really good time with this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's really cool. I love that you're. You've not lost Steam with the Zelda. No. I was worried because. Because when you went straight from Ocarina to Majora's Mask, it brought me back to when I tried to do that back in the day. I played Ocarina. It immediately was like, I'm gonna play Majora's Mask. And I got burnt out and I took a little bit of a break and then came back with Twilight Princess and fell in love with that. But it's. For me, it's hard to do like back to back to back games in a series.
Snowbike Mike
I can't stop. Yeah, I'm deep in this. I can't stop thinking about Zelda. It's all I want to play. I'm playing on the Wii U2. This is the first time I've ever played a Wii U. I never bought one back in the day. I never had a friend who had a Wii U. So holding the Wii U GamePad and having the dual screens going on and is a blast. It's really cool to check out this hardware. The blast, dude, man. The Wii U GamePad feels comfortable and looking down and having the map and items like always there and looking up and down. Awesome.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I don't know if I. Is that crazy? I feel like that's nuts.
Snowbike Mike
I bet you if you go back and try the Wii U, you'll be like, damn, this gamepad's actually pretty comfortable.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
This is literally. I didn't play that much of the Wii U. There weren't that many of them out there. They only sold like 13 million of these guys. But I did have a friend, Brandon. Yeah. In town who had a Wii U. And I remember being excited to go to his place to play a little bit of it. And he introduced me to Nintendo Land. It was a really fun time. But then he was also one of those friends that would make me watch him play video games. And he made me watch him play Monster Hunter try or whatever it was called the Wii U Monster Hunter. And I was like, brandon, I'm not coming over here anymore. I'm staying home for now.
Snowbike Mike
And that's where the saying you play comes from. Because you would never let your friend blessing Adioa Jr sit there day after day, minute after minute, hour after hour without saying, you know what you play. It's your turn.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
We you play. Come on. Come on Brandon. You know right there in the name. Remember if you're watching live, you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on YouTube.com kind of funny games we couldn't do this without our producers over on patreon.com kind of funny. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster and Delaney the Psalm Twining for now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. Time for some news. We have eight stories today. Baker's dozen. A jam packed news day. Starting with story number one. An update leak suggests four Steam Machine packages will be available at launch alongside a reservation queue. This is Jacqueline Thomas at ign. Things have sure been heating up for the Steam Machine over the last couple of weeks. On top of shipment data suggesting Valve's mini gaming PC is coming soon, code found in the latest Steam update hints at the different versions of the console that'll be available. Spotted by WCCF Tech. It seems like there will be four different versions of the Steam Machine, along with two versions of the Steam frame available at launch. However, while this does suggest there will be plenty of choices for upcoming hardware, nothing yet indicates just how much the Steam Machine will cost. As for which versions of the Steam Machine will be available, Valve told me all the way back in November that there will be a 512 gigabyte entry level model alongside a 2 terabyte version. Nobody except Valve knows what the other two options will be or if those options even exist. But it's highly likely that at least one of them is going to be a bundle with the Steam frame and controller. Do you think you bundle the Steam Machine with the Steam Frame?
Snowbike Mike
Preferably not, but maybe.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I feel like that's kind of insane.
Snowbike Mike
I would prefer not to because that price would be insane is correct. Bliss. But I think that is a logical like, hey, we have two products here and one work hand in hand together. We want to sell more of these Steam frame units, the VR headsets. Let's get it out.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's when you feel like that that makes sense.
Snowbike Mike
Yes, I, I totally see that. I think most of the audience listening is like, hey Mike, I don't want to do that. Right. Like that's already too much. But like if I'm Valve it's like yeah, of course I want, I want these products to get out there into the market.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, if you can bundle The Steam frame in a way that make. That makes it more enticing. I think it's more of a favor to the Steam frame than it is to the Steam machine. So I think that makes sense.
Snowbike Mike
Yes. I mean, hey, things are heating up less. We already had the controller go out. Yeah, pre orders went out. People are getting their controllers. It's sold real hot. Yeah, we are right around the corner.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Did you get one? No, I didn't get one either.
Snowbike Mike
I, I didn't love the feeling of it. Maybe that's because I did. I only held it once, you know, Andy and Tim got it so I haven't got to really play with it but I didn't love the feeling of it. I am an offset sticks guy. I don't like inline sticks and that's what it has.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'm. I don't like having to like schedule buying something. That's really what it comes down to is like when I saw the word queue I was like, I'll get it later. I'll figure out a way. I don't know, can I just go to a store, hit buy and then have the thing?
Snowbike Mike
You would love that. No. Bless. You have to.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I don't want to get up. Yeah, I don't want to have to like schedule a time, put a calendar, send myself a calendar invite, be like buy the Steam machine and then sit there and look at a thing and like refresh and hope it happens.
Snowbike Mike
You were just doing this for this, the Switch 2 idea.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Say that again. It's the Switch 2.
Snowbike Mike
We were all fighting for our lives for that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
It's a different occasion. That's the Switch.
Snowbike Mike
Which controller compared to a console I
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
get like it's the new Nintendo console.
Snowbike Mike
I had to get one of course. But like yeah, things are heating up. It's getting exciting. We're still waiting of course on the date, the pre order date, the pricing of all this. So there's still a lot of information to get to us.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
4 SKUs. But yeah, if we're talking about 4 SKS, I think the 512 and the 2 terabyte like dimension makes sense. A Steam frame bundle with the controller, all that makes sense. For the most expensive version of this I would think one terabyte.
Snowbike Mike
So then your mind goes to one terabyte right? Because like here's the catch is man, that the, the memory, memory is getting costly. Very costly.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Right.
Snowbike Mike
Like we saw the PlayStation, the Xbox right now for 1 TB Xbox Series X is sitting at $650 and the PlayStation 51 TB is $650 as well. Right. We know what this machine is, is going to probably be more than the current gen console, but plus the hardware. So it's like, yeah, this is going to be an expensive.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
More than the current gen console.
Snowbike Mike
I expect the Steam machine to be more than 650.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay. No, you're right.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay.
Snowbike Mike
I. In my mind, I expect this to be more than 650. Yes.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
For 512. What do you. What do you think that's that I'd like to see 512. 512 gigabyte. How much I think is it naive? 5700 window.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, that's where I want to be. I'm. I'm. I'm preparing. After all the conversations that Tim and Andy have here I all of our shows, when they talk about the deep dive into tech, I am preparing for things to be $1,000. I think I'm mentally preparing a 512 be $1,000.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Listen. One terabyte. Two terabyte. Yes.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
512 terabyte. $1,000.
Snowbike Mike
That's crazy.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's nuts, right? Yeah. No, but I guess that is the world we live in. I think I'm. I'm prepared. I'm hoping for like six to 700. I'm prepared for 800.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think once you get to 900, a thousand for the lowest SKU I that's where I start to look at it like I don't know if this is going to be what you need.
Snowbike Mike
Do you come at it with such a loss? Right. What is the number before you say we can't sell that because on the valve side of things, you are running the PC industry. Right. Everybody is jumping on your marketplace on PC now. Your goal is to start getting into the living room and you are now competing with the PlayStations, the Xboxes, right. Which are now towards the end of their life cycles. They big install base but they'll be announcing their consoles soon enough. Right. So you are trying to get in there and kind of get right up at the table against all these consoles.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Obviously everybody is. Everybody's different in terms of their. How much money they have available. Right. Their financial situations. If I'm looking at it right of because I'm somebody who really wants a Steam machine. I think for the lowest skew, if you get to 700, that's where I'm like, that's where I tap out. I'm like, I don't know if I. I have a PC. I don't need to buy this just to have it in my living room, right. And like have that additional way to play. If I really wanted to, I could probably find a way to get my PC in my living room or something like that. Like that becomes less worth it for me. And I think at that point maybe you're only selling to people who don't have a PC and are looking for that entry level.
Snowbike Mike
I mean, as a Xbox guy, right. And where Xbox currently is, I am looking at this compared to the next Xbox piece of hardware.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Right.
Snowbike Mike
I think the project Helix has a lot more upside to me of like what's going on there. But like I've moved to Steam, I've moved to PC, right. And so this is now me looking at both of these devices going, okay, I'm getting the next PlayStation for the exclusives. I already know that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
But what is my secondary console? It might be now I move to just Steam only and go with this Steam Machine right over the next Xbox depending on pricing what they both offer. So I think in the next one to two years you'll have, you'll, you'll be watching me go through that mental battle of what do I want to decide to put my additional spending money into? Because yeah, things are getting tight. I don't have thousands of dollars to throw around. Right. And when it comes back to the four SKUs, the audience earlier, I think put it pretty simply, you have the five and a controller. You have the two terabyte and a two terabyte with the controller. I think you just do that. I don't think you'll get a third one all of a sudden. That's just one terabyte tier.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Interesting. I'm not mad at that. I think that, you know what I mean?
Snowbike Mike
I think it's with the controller without. With the controller without.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I do think this bundling the Steam frame makes sense because I think otherwise. I, I'm so fascinated about how the Steam Frame is going to perform because I think the Steam machine, depending on where it comes in price, has a place. The Steam Frame is way more niche when we're talking about the VR audience and how much people are willing to spend on VR, especially when VR software obviously doesn't get as much support as flat screen software. And what are the games that are coming up for it. That gets us excited and makes me go, oh man, I really want to play Steam Frame so I can play XYZ thing. Are we announcing a new halflife Alex style game? Are we finally getting a portal VR game that makes Us all throw up and still have fun with it, you know what I mean? Like what does selling the Steam frame software wise look like? Are they even trying to sell it software wise or just going this is another way, this is the best way that we can provide to you to play your VR games.
Snowbike Mike
Well, they've been in the VR space for a long time now, right. Like they're one of the few teams that was like they've gone through it all. They clearly know the numbers and the, the reality of VR and what that actually sells. I do think that's like the uber enthusiast market right there. Of like I am the die hard VR fan, I know what I'm getting and I want to stick with Valve for what they kind of bring to the product line. So it's like I don't think they're hoping that the mass audience attaches to this unless you somehow an incredible bundle in games. But I think they know this is the uber enthusiast that's jumping onto this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, very, very curious. The force they call it here on the website. The streaming first experience.
Snowbike Mike
Talk to me. There's no chords on this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No.
Snowbike Mike
Because from now from ever since Meta with their headset, the quest. Right. Like I'm not putting on a VR headset. Wireless that ever has a wire on it.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Wireless, comfortable, lightweight VR for your Steam library. I imagine probably similar technology to what they're using with the Steam controller. Right. Of like here's your dock thing that you plug into the computer and then yours streaming wirelessly through that and they probably have technology there to make it feel very seamless.
Snowbike Mike
That, that gets me excited because yeah, I mean I've talked about the Meta before when we had the greg with the PlayStation VR with you as well.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Like I told him, I just, I can't do anything with the wire when I want to go into VR mode I don't want anything weighing me down and most importantly I want to be able to move. And so yeah, this is great to hear on that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You just, you just need some killer
Snowbike Mike
apps is what you've always needed. Killer app. But the issue is, is like with the VR you're in it for 30 minutes to two hours, like usually maximum for a normal audience. Right. It's like it's hot, it's usually heavy. So it's got to be like the games have to be beat Saber, right. Like some super hot VR they have to be these like bite sized fun games that keep you active and like having a good time. But also like hey, I can take this off at any moment and be done right. So it's interesting to see.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. Let's move on to story number two. A PlayStation exec says next few years of unannounced games is unbelievably positive. Quote There are no dire times ahead for the industry, end quote I'm pulling from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. PlayStation's head of third party content has said the platform's upcoming game slate is unbelievably positive and argued that the industry should be more optimistic about the future. Christian Svensson, Sony Interactive Entertainment's VP of second and third party content, was speaking to the game business about the future of the games industry and at a time when layoffs, studio closures and turbulent player spending still regularly occupy news headlines. Svensson's team is responsible for supporting developers who want to make games for PS5 and thus has a unique view of what companies have planned for the upcoming years. He said that based on the games he knows are coming, he believes that the developers and publishers are making very smart decisions and that the games industry should feel more comfortable about the future. Quote in the future there's going to be more touch points with players than ever and figuring out how to navigate the number of devices, the number of audience segments and finding your audience for your game, that's going to continue to be where the challenge is, he said. I'm in an incredibly privileged position to have amazing visibility into what games will be for the next three, four, five years. I literally cannot explain to you. Last year was an amazing year for games. This year will be even better. Next year will be better still. The trajectory of content is unbelievably positive and and we as an industry should be super optimistic about where we're going in spite of the headwinds, end quote Svensson noted that because games take years to make, the decisions made by developers and publishers today might not necessarily be seen for some time. Quote Obviously the decisions we're making now take into account where we are at this moment, he said. We're anticipating where we're going to be. There are no dire times for the industry ahead as far as I'm concerned. Very smart decisions are being made by by our partners and by platforms. Be more comfortable than you think you should be, end quote Interesting statements there, some interesting statements.
Snowbike Mike
Bless. What do you think?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think he's speaking from a very specific perspective. Of course. I think he's speaking from somebody who is head of third party portfolio and is looking at the games coming in and going. Damn, we have a lot of good games coming in.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And to that I say, yeah, I, I see where that side of it is coming from. And I agree in terms of. I've been saying that if you're somebody who doesn't pay attention to video game news and you're just playing the games, I don't know. I don't know how you could look at the. At the game slate and be unsatisfied. There are so many games. There are so many quality games. There's such a variety of games. Like, it's. As a games player, one of the best times for video games. The games industry, though, is on fire if you are paying attention. And I think he's speaking more so toward the. For the latter or toward the former than the latter. That said, like, I think when you take in parts of this, it feels. It feels kind of like he's toeing a line there. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Where it does feel like, yeah, of course. Like, I don't think any of us out there when you're talking about the consumer side of like playing the games are going, man, it's been a turbulent time. I'm getting nothing but Fortnite. It's like, no, the past three years or so have been nothing but incredible games.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I don't think anyone's doubting that. It is more of like, hey, there's thousands upon thousands of layoffs happening almost weekly and monthly around the industry. That's what's more turbulent. That's what we're not really pleased with. Right. And like, yeah, he is looking at it from a different perspective going, hey, Mike, it seems like corporate CEOs and game developers and publishers have decided to step away from maybe games as a service and these live service games and are more focusing on the games that clearly are what the gamers want. And that's a positive thing. I think we are starting to see that quick trying to turn the ship now as we saw PlayStation fumble there games as a service. We've seen other games come out and just not find that art.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
We're going to talk about Sega in stories, but the Sega Super Game got canceled.
Snowbike Mike
Exactly. We're seeing teams now try to avoid that as the audience has spoken like, we don't want that. Right. But we're looking at it as like, hey, there's way too many layoffs. People are questioning if their job is safe here.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
And to end that being be more comfortable than you think you should be is like, I don't know. There's a lot of jobs out there. They don't feel that the part that
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I highlight, right, is he said that based on the games he knows are coming, he believes that developers and publishers are making very smart decisions and that, that the games industry should feel more comfortable about the future. I think that last part of the games industry should feel more comfortable without the feature is the part that I take issue with. Right. As far as you're talking about all the layoffs, all the studio closures, all the things that we're seeing right now, the AI and how that's going and how that's already taking effect into things. Right. And like even just what we talk about as far as the shareholder money lightening up as the. As this industry becomes more and more mature and people are taking money out of it to put into other things that they see as more upcoming, like AI right. It feels like we're in a place where things are going more and more into like a deeper, darker place. And like, I don't. I think it's. There's a balance because I don't want to be all doom and gloom about it because there's so much light. There's a lot of time, there's a
Snowbike Mike
lot of selling a ton of copies, right? A small team finding success, dude, and hitting this last year games around the globe.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Last year being the year looking at clear obscure Expedition 33 from last year, which is a. A debut game from a new small developer that was able to make waves and have this special moment.
Snowbike Mike
You're Talking about games PI for Hire Selling 3/4 of a million copies and being able to make their money back and now invest more into the company. That's a huge win.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And I think there is, there's something. He said that there's something there to the idea of how big of a ship it is to turn when it comes to, hey, the decisions we're making now are not going to change anything until then three years from now, four years from now, five years from now. Right. Video games take time to develop and make and these choices take time to come into effect. I believe the idea that, hey, we're learning things in real time that we are and we're implementing changes, implementing ways that we're. That we're trying to push back against a lot of the bad decisions that have been made. And he's seeing three to four years out, right? He's like a chess player seeing three moves ahead and he's like, okay, cool. Yeah, these things are going to be so much better as we, as we continue to move forward. But I Think for us when me, you and probably our audience who listens to video game news all the time read this quote, we're like, I don't really, like, I don't know about that.
Snowbike Mike
There are no dire times ahead for the industry as far as I'm concerned. That's one where it's like, I don't know about that. Right. We don't know where the world is going to be. Hopefully. It's like, hey, I'm looking at it right now like this is the darkest time, but we're about to round the corner. We're going to see light at the end of the tunnel and and we're going to turn on that. As you brought up, right? It's like, are we in the most dire time or will it continue to get a little more dire as people are tightening their belts? They're not investing as much into games. Right. We aren't seeing a bunch of double A games come out that are like, hey, these are good. Right? It's like you're either great or you're not. You're not making a second game.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Or you're not even making a game.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. Let's move on to story number three. Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada has joined snk. This is big news for me.
Snowbike Mike
You're wearing your jacket. Show it off.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And I didn't know this story was happening because I wore my Tekken jacket today. This is from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. Former Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada has formed a new studio with SNK following his exit from Bandai Namco after more than 31 years. In an announcement published on Tuesday, Harada confirmed the formation of SNK vs Studio, or I should say SN SNK vs Studio in Shinagawa, Tokyo, where he will act as CEO. According to Harada, the versus in versus studio's name holds various meanings including Video Gamesoft versus development division and the spirit of versus challenging tradition. Quote versus studios I'm just gonna say versus because this is cooler, okay? Versus studios philosophy is beyond tradition crafted to perfection, he said in a statement. Will combine technology sensibility and world class expertise to pursue the to pursue the ultimate from a free, open and spacious environment, we will generate new ideas and create memorable games. We established this studio to bring this vision to life, he added, quote having been involved in game development for many years, I've constantly considered how I want to spend my time as a developer and what kind of environment allows developers to perform at their best. Versa Studio is one answer to that. Question. By bringing together technology and knowledge and working with passionate colleagues, we aim to deliver the best gaming experiences to users worldwide. Versus Studio aspires to be a studio that continues to take on such challenges and we are looking for new team members who share our vision. Please look forward to the future of Versus Studio. End quote. Speaking to 4Gamer Harada said that the games he makes in the future won't deviate from the action and competitive player versus player elements he's known for. The producer also wouldn't rule out working on SNK's own fighting game franchises in the future, Quote. Speaking personally. There are certainly things I'd like to do, he said when asked about potentially working on SNK's IP. However it seems, however it belongs. Ooh, is that.
Snowbike Mike
We got bagels coming into the office.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
He put his order in with me earlier of poppy seed and butter, but
Snowbike Mike
we didn't have butter so he just got more cream cheese. But what do you want? What do you want a bagel?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
What do we have out there?
Snowbike Mike
I got egg, I got poppy seed, I got salt. I got everything.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
What's your favorite bacon?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'll grab one after the show. Okay. Yeah, I don't want to chew. Then read because that you don't want to get.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. Some poppy seeds in your teeth like I'm about to. Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Let's see here. When he said that when asked about potentially working on SNK's IP, quote. However, since it belongs to SNK, I can't really say anything too freely. This isn't about hiding anything. It simply means that nothing has been decided yet. In the 1990s, I could have easily dabbled in it. But nowadays development can easily take four to five years, so is not something I can say easily. And quote again that four to five years. Number man.
Snowbike Mike
Remember that. Always remember that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Always. Video games, everyone listening on their time to me.
Snowbike Mike
Remember that. Now I do want to circle back to the previous story. We'll do it at the end of the show because yeah, there is conversation there. But bless, you're my fighting game guy. I just played Tekken.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, you did.
Snowbike Mike
For the first time. Loved it. Right here is a industry icon, a legend in this. What. What are your thoughts?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I. I don't know what to think, Mike. I think that's where I stand. I of course love Harada's work. Yeah, Big Tekken 8, the Tekken franchise. I'll say one of my favorite franchises.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And so I love what Harada does and I love that he's finding a new beginning Elsewhere, I think I, I like that he's not stuck to one franchise. Even though I associate with that franchise, even though I love the work that he does with that franchise, even though I have a little bit of fear about where the franchise goes after him. I want to see Harada do something fresh, do something new, do something different.
Snowbike Mike
31 years. Bless.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Crazy.
Snowbike Mike
That is a long time. Of course, like you said, right? Like your fingerprint. Is that right?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
When you bring up, hey, go do something new and exciting. Like, yeah, that is new. That is fun and like a little thrilling, a little scary, right?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Like, yeah.
Snowbike Mike
What does that look like now in
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
snk it like snk they put out good fighting games. Okay. They've not put out fighting games on level. And I'm talking about in recent time, in modern times. They've not put out a fighting game in my opinion on the level of like a Tekken 8 Street Fighter 6. Well, I'm trying to go to gear. I was gonna say Mortal Kombat, but I say Mortal Kombat.
Snowbike Mike
So that's why, that's why you call up one of the goats and say come over here.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yes. But I. And I want to say all that but also shout out that like I think King of Fighters 15 was a really, really excellent fighting game. I Love King Fighters 15, Fatal Fury, City of the Wolves. I like fine. I was it. It didn't make me stop and like get addicted to it. But like a lot of fighting games do. But like it was fine. I think it underperformed for them. I view SNK fighting games as a more smaller contained experience in terms of budget and where they go with it. And so Harada joining that team makes me ask what is the scope that he's going to be able to work with? Because I, for me, I see it as a thing of like you're going from Tekken, which has money, Bandai, Namco money thrown into it. Right. They view it as something that like, yo, we care about this, we want this to be successful. All this stuff. You're going to snk, which don't get me wrong, SNK has money because they are owned by Saudi Arabia.
Snowbike Mike
Really quick buzz, who owns this company is right.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, Saudi Arabia owns snk. And so like I can see where they get the money to hire him and form a studio under him. I just wonder if that money is also going to go into like funding a Harada game on the level that a Harada game should be funded.
Snowbike Mike
I mean that's what you hope. Bless and a. In The Snowbike Mike, super optimistic world, right. You are coming over to a team that has a bunch of money and as he said here, right. I've been involved in game development for many years. I've constantly considered how I want to spend my time as a developer. What kind of environment allows developers to perform their best. Right. This guy is leaving Bandai Namco. Going off on his own now is like the opportunity. Like here's a bunch of money.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
You create what you want. You an environment that you want and you optimistic. Mike goes this is going to be a perfect match made in heaven. Right. Like hopefully everything is good.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Do you not worry about that? Bless of like the reality. We just talked about the dire situation
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
in the industry and I, I here's the thing. I also think Harad is a smart man. So I don't think he's going to join SNK if the deal, if he, if he looks at the numbers and
Snowbike Mike
goes he's going to sink after one game.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, like that. Those numbers aren't right to fund what I have a vision for. The question then becomes what do you have a vision for? He kind of talks about like you know, they, they tackle it toward the end of the article talking about is it going to work on an SNK property or make something like that. It's. That's his own. And he says speaking personally, it seems like there's a lot to be decided here. But yeah, speaking personally, there are certainly things I'd like to do. However, since it belongs to snk, I can't really say anything too freely. That makes it sound like he's looking at the SNK IP specifically and going let me make something with one of these. And when we're talking about SNK ip, we're talking about games like King of Fighters. We're talking about like I mentioned before, Fatal Fury. You're also talking about Samurai Showdown. And then if I'm looking up here, right, you have the Last Blade and Art of Fighting which I don't know much about about those. I don't know if I see Harada. Like unless you are revitalizing and rebooting one of these franchises which could very dude a Harada Samurai showdown. That's like a ground up. I'm fucking taking Samurai Showdown and forming it and morphing it into my own image. Maybe there's something there.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Actually that could be cool. I, I just don't think any, I don't view any of those IP as something that like is what I view as the Heart and soul of what Harada does, which is 3D fighting. Like that's actually what it comes down to. Okay. I view him as a 3D fighter guy. I view him as somebody who wants like the over, over the top, right? And like crazy personality, personality on these characters. I think you can pull that out of some of these games. But I think it would, it would require him to take a lot of liberty in rebooting a franchise.
Snowbike Mike
Well, congratulations to him. We will see the future. Four to five years. Bless.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Four to five years.
Snowbike Mike
How long do you really think?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Four to five years.
Snowbike Mike
You think? You think? Hey Mike, no matter what, we're going to set up the studio, we're going to hire, we're going to pick our vision and then we'll get to release eventually. Four to five years.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, unless something goes wrong. Which in this industry things often go wrong. Unless something goes wrong. And in two years we get a new story that, that Harada is leaving versus studio. And we were like, well then who's leading it? And then we don't hear anything. And then they close down the studio. You know, we hear those stories all the time. But if things go smoothly. Okay, four to five years. Okay, so we shall see. We're gonna talk about Sega canceling its super game. But before we get there, I wanna tell you about patreon.com kinda funny and YouTube.com kindafunnygames where you can go and get the Kinda Funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free. And speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Like I you know what?
Snowbike Mike
Bless. That doesn't seem like an occupation that you could ghost people.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I yeah, if you've never been ghosted by a therapist before, it doesn't feel great. It does not feel great to be ghosted by a therapist. Let's hop into some super chats for you. Danish writes in and says did you see they're adding a Dino to Marvel Rivals. Mike, you see this?
Snowbike Mike
I didn't see that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I saw somebody posted a trailer in Reddit. Maybe we can find the trailer because I want to know what's up with that. When was the last time you picked up Marvel Rivals?
Snowbike Mike
I haven't played in a long time. I kind of missed started to get on the Overwatch train for a while. It looks like they have confirmed the new Vanguard Tank hero in Marvel Rivals is Devil Dinosaur.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Devil Dinosaur.
Snowbike Mike
Well that's dope.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's cool.
Snowbike Mike
Hopefully Chris Ana will love Devil Dinosaur cuz Chris Anka is my tank. You know they just relegate me to Healer so I just stand in the back.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Relegate. You have a have a backbone Mike. Stand up and just go let me play dps.
Snowbike Mike
It's like when Brandon wouldn't give you the controller and you just watch Play Monster.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Play Monster Hunter.
Snowbike Mike
I would never make Kevin, Chris Anka, Andy, Nick, Wash, any of my friends ever have to play Healer and bore themselves to death. So I will I fall on that stake for them.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Some people like playing Healer though. I'm sure, there's somebody in that group that they don't heal it.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
They don't.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Because I like playing. I mean, I like DPS more, but like, I like healer because I feel like I am contributing in a way that is. It's easier not to fuck up. I can fuck up dps, you know what I mean? Like, if I'm not on that day, my DPS is going to be mad. But I'm 80% of the time, I'm a good healer.
Snowbike Mike
That's why I like Halo, because everyone's a damage dealer. Okay? We all get kills.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay, listen, let's say the word. We can pick up Halo Infinite right now. I'll play in Halo Infinite with you. Mob Axie says SEGA is my number one publisher right now. To me, they're right behind capcom as the second best publisher.
Snowbike Mike
Whoa.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Just keep bringing back old IPs and making banger games. Just need their games to sell better. I'm not mad at that.
Snowbike Mike
Can I get a rundown on the recent SEGA games?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean all the Yakuza games. Persona, Sonic. Listen, already you're speaking to me.
Snowbike Mike
You know what? Okay, you know what? You're making me change my tude there. Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Sometimes on my own stream, I do this thing where I do a game developer power ranking based off of what developers are the best. Right now. Not in history, just right now. Who's killing it? I.
Snowbike Mike
Let me pull up SEGA is a top two. What they say.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Let me see what I have for my video game studio power ranking. Sega, let's control F. Oh, you know what? I think I divide SEGA up. Yeah. I don't have SEGA here because I have Atlas here instead. When you take out Atlas, you know, it's like I. It's hard for me to speak to SEGA because I'm not playing Yakuza. And I'm not going to say Sonic the Hedgehog is better than what Sandfall and FromSoft. We're doing mo. My top five I have in my power ranking are Sandfall. This is like right after Clare's here. Sandfall, Fromsoft, Team Cherry, Super Giant Kojima Productions.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, so sega's not near the top two on that one.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No, I have. Capcom is number six.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. Again, it's loose though. We're having fun.
Snowbike Mike
That's how. That's how it's got to be. I'm glad that they're. They're finding fun in the SEGA games. That's great.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Logan writes in and says in the theme of this story, bless. Are you planning on going to combo breaker or Evo this year. We would love to see you, man. I'd love to go back to Evo. I. I'm probably not going to Evo because it's late June and I have a lot going on late June, so.
Snowbike Mike
Remember last June I tried to kill you?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Summer game pass. Try to get you to magic on. Then you had Evo right there. It's like, let's just do every weekend you're out of town.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. No, I can't do it. I need it. I need to do a better job
Snowbike Mike
of Switch to launch. Crazy.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
El Capitan says. Oh, by the way, Mike and Barrett Toei redid Fishman island arc in better quality animation and trimmed the fat to shorten the arc.
Snowbike Mike
Good to know. That's some one piece stuff right there. I am currently getting ready. Les. I've made it to the time skip. Yeah, the big deal. I didn't know Those are times 516 episodes in the one piece. I'm ready.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I am so impressed that people are able to watch through all of One Piece. But, like. And not even you watched it from when you were a kid. People who started as adults and somehow watch through all of One Piece. I have no idea how you do that.
Snowbike Mike
It's epic bliss. I mean, I believe you should watch one episode a day while you're at the gym, if you're on the treadmill. Oh, one episode a day. Just turn it on. Do your 24 minutes of cardio.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Call it good. And then episodes are there over 1100.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay. So that would only take me a couple years.
Snowbike Mike
But you'll have days where you watch
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
more than a couple.
Snowbike Mike
You'll have days where you watch three. You know what I mean?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You'll have more days.
Snowbike Mike
But, like, if you did one a day on the treadmill, you're moving.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, but that's assuming I'm going to the gym every single day.
Snowbike Mike
Bless.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Look at you right now.
Snowbike Mike
You're going to the gym. I see you.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean, I am going to the gym like six out of seven days out of the week.
Snowbike Mike
We see you.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Let's see. Yeah, it's zero pull. Says y' all should check out the new Marvel Rivals trailer. It's only a minute and a half. My boy Cyclops is there. I think Kevin was playing it in the background.
Snowbike Mike
Cyclops, dude, sick.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Let's see. Nader Pooh haters.
Snowbike Mike
Sorry.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No, that's not it. Nader Potater. That's what it is. Nader Potater writes in and says the Only thing keeping a PS5 in my home is GTA 6 when the steam machine releases, how long until the port or would they wait until the PC launch? Wait how long until the port or would they wait until the PC launch? I don't know what you mean by that, but if you're asking how long until the port of GTA 6, I'll give it a couple years before you get the PC version.
Snowbike Mike
Not a couple of years. No, one year.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
One year.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, one year.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
One year.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
What was it like last time?
Snowbike Mike
That's a great question. I have to look that up. I don't know. Chat, let me know on that one. I'm thinking one year now. We're like 13 years back from that. So it's hard to be like, that's the business decisions they're going to follow. We've evolved past that. PC is now a larger market. I do think we will go with one year, especially with like what GTA RP is going to be and how they've brought on no pixel. How long is that
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
PC was too. It was. It was like a year and a half.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, we'll call it too. We'll just round up to two years. I think it's a little bit tighter this time around.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay. Somebody said Red Dead was one. How long? Kevin, can you look up Red Dead Redemption two? How long that was? Because if that was one year, then I totally buy it. If that was more than I. I just think Rockstar cares so little about PC. Let's see, we had 2018, so that. 2019. Okay, so that's less than a year. Yeah, no, that was about a year.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Like a year in a month.
Snowbike Mike
December.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, Yeah, a year and a couple weeks.
Snowbike Mike
So, yeah, that's a year.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay. By that. That makes sense.
Snowbike Mike
I'm excited to see.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You're gonna wait till PC to play it.
Snowbike Mike
Absolutely. No way. I'm jumping right in right away.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Let's hop into this. What consoles are you guys gonna play it on? Oh, PS5.
Snowbike Mike
Xbox, of course.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
PS5 Pro.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, I'm on my Xbox. I have a PS5 Pro.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean, we can get you one.
Snowbike Mike
Should have bought one mine.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Greg just gave it to me.
Snowbike Mike
No, you got a nice tv you should be playing.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I had to buy a TV so I could finally. You get some good use out of that PS5 Pro. You'd even try to get them to buy you a tv. They would have. They would not have bought me a tv. Oh, you just have to say it on air. You just Say, oh, you know, I need. I can't put Greg Miller out like that.
Snowbike Mike
You know what? Today could never. He has.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
He has a new puppy, you know, mint chocolate chip.
Snowbike Mike
Just really want to circle back to story number two really quick on that PlayStation exec. Yeah, it is interesting of like, well, what are you seeing, right? Are you seeing people work the budgets out now that are a little bit more in favor of like the team here? Are you seeing games now working on shorter time spans?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think.
Snowbike Mike
What are the budgets going down like what are you seeing here that makes it feel less turbulent? I just wanted to circle back and be like, I bet you that's what I want to know.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, I bet you seeing a world. I don't want to say post pandemic because I'm sure we're probably still in the pandemic as we enter into a new pandemic, possibly. I'm actually. I don't want to. I don't want to put fear out there. I don't know what's going on with the antivirus, but I. I think he's seeing a post lockdown like dev environment where people. Where that part is less disruptive. I'm sure he's still seeing like layoffs and steel closures and all that shit. But I bet you like things are a bit more on track now than they were like two, three years ago with that stuff.
Snowbike Mike
I like that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'll bring in one more from my pixels. Who says birthday tax turned 28 today. Celebrating by going up to Tahoe for some camping. Hell yeah. PS FPS gamers should all try the finals. Epic destruction shooter Make Brain Go Burr.
Snowbike Mike
Finals was a great game. Shout out to that team as well. The other team that went off and made Arc Raiders. Yeah, so they're hot right now. They're red hot.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You know what if I go look back at my power rankings, I feel like they should be high.
Snowbike Mike
Embark Studios, I believe. Embark Lab Studios.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, I got that at number 11.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, they're. They're hot right now for sure. They've made. They've made the right decisions. The finals was fantastic. Great destructible environments. Happy birthday. Have fun up while you camp up in Tahoe.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's birthday story number four. SEGA has officially canceled its super game. This is Liam Doolin at Nintendo Life. As you might recall, SEGA has been busy working on a super game which was targeting a release this year. However, in SEGA Sammy's latest financial results presentation, it appears the project has now been officially canceled. In the latest lot of presentation slides you can see there's confirmation that a decision has been made to cancel this project, quote or not. Quote. It's noted in fine print how there were. There were apparently, quote, no additional costs associated with the cancellation, end quote. This decision stems from the recent performance of the company's free to play in games and service titles. With the firm calling out Sonic Rumble Party after its weak performance, the plan now is to shift focus and over 100 people to full game development with quote, lowered priority of free to play development, end quote. The Super Game was previously described as a major title that would scale globally, aimed to stand on heads and shoulders above normal titles, and would be able to attract the entire gaming ecosystem. From players and streamers to viewers. Sega's CEO also believed it could potentially bank beyond 100 billion yen in its lifetime. Although this project has been axed, SEGA has reconfirmed it is still on track, reviving multiple classic franchises from Crazy Taxi to Jet Set Radio. That's good news.
Snowbike Mike
That's good. That's a good, positive business mindset. Yeah, let's refocus. Let's. Let's understand what the players want. Because right now a super game would not be a smart financial move.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Lowered priority of free to play development. That's what I like to hear, especially coming off of. They mentioned Sonic Rumble, which. Do you know Sonic Rumble?
Snowbike Mike
I just looked it up right there.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
They made a Sonic Fall guys game.
Snowbike Mike
I saw that and I don't.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I. I barely knew it existed. I played it like a few months ago. Just like one run. Yeah, man, it was rough.
Snowbike Mike
That's another one circling back to story number two that I forgot as well. Monetization, right, where we talk about free to play titles. Right. What are you seeing in the industry of like, how are people making up all of the budget? Right. Is it just a full price game? Are we still seeing a bunch of free to play titles? What?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
What are you seeing? But yeah, with SEGA here. You like that? It's just on me on this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I love it though.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. This is Mike right now. Yeah, I do have a cool sweater, but that's all right. Like there's a lot of Mike the SEGA Super Game. I don't. Yeah. Stand head and shoulders above normal titles and be able to attract entire gaming ecosystems from players and streamers to viewers. Yeah, I think we've seen a large pushback on the gaming audience saying we actually don't want that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think it's becoming more and more clear that you. It's impossible to make that happen.
Snowbike Mike
Like it's impossible to replicate Fortnite. It is just kind of a strike of a match.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
It is lucky. It is. God shines down on you and goes, you, you're the one that's going to elevate, right? Like, it's. You can't choose which game is going to be the next Fortnite or Roblox or whatever it is. Like, you can, you can barely choose which game is going to be the next peak.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
You know what I mean?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Like, that is happenstance of, oh, this, this caught fire. This caught a spark. God saw us one day and went, you're successful today.
Snowbike Mike
And like, we will get another one of those. Most likely we'll find another Fortnite, but we don't know when it will be. It could be 20 years from now, 15, 5. It could be tomorrow. We don't know. But like, banking your whole entire development budget into one of that or into that is usually not a good.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Unless you're GTA 6. GTA 6. You're the one. You're the one that could probably make it happen by your own ability. Oh, there's one more thing I wanted to shout out here. Oh, do you remember Sega's Free to Play shooter that they. They showed a trailer of?
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And then they canceled. Looked like any of these hero shooters, like, kind of like a futuristic, fast paced first person shooter. But I remember seeing that and being like, sega, what are you doing? Hyenas is what it was called.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Oh, I remember.
Snowbike Mike
Hyenas. Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. I think Hyenas probably plays a thing in here too. As far as like, hey, this is not working. We tried Hyenas, we tried Sonic Rumble.
Snowbike Mike
Like, did that ever come out?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No, they canceled it.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, well, yeah, we've seen a lot of that. That's right. Unfortunately.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Who did Foam Stars? That was Square Enix. Right? That was Square.
Snowbike Mike
Friendships forged in foam. Who could forget that, man? We have.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That came out.
Snowbike Mike
That one. That came. A lot of games came out. X Defiant came out.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. Again, everybody was trying it, man. Everybody was trying it.
Snowbike Mike
I mean, everybody will continue to try. That is the market, right? That is the video game industry.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Sega's. They're not, they're not trying it anymore.
Snowbike Mike
Well, you're going to take shots just by, you know, when I say you got to take side shots, you're trying games that just hopefully will land with people. Right? And like that first person shooter, hyperactive shooter landscape was very hot for a while. Right. And it still is hot, but it's a tough market to crack. We saw games like Hyperscape kind of start this trend of like, hey, people want more battle royales or they just want more first person shooters. Let's all double down on that right now. And then we saw about 10 of that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That is happening.
Snowbike Mike
Extraction.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
They put Mickey Mouse in the Extraction game. That's how you know it's a problem. Like, that's how you know, okay, this is the next wave started in there.
Snowbike Mike
Metroidvania.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, but rogue staples.
Snowbike Mike
But like, we're getting. Well, you're getting 20 games.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean, we're getting genre a month.
Snowbike Mike
And like we. You can't keep up with all of them. Oh, some of them will shine. Some of them will be good. That you'll never discover.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think the place I push back is that roguelikes aren't all for the same audience. You know what I mean? Like, the person that's playing Slay Aspire is not the same person that's playing. Well, actually, a lot of people are playing Hades. But like Slayers, Fire Hades, Balatro, Inscription, like, all these games, they're all roguelite. But I view it similarly as open world where it is. This is just another. Like, it's a genre, sure, but it's just another format for how you make a shooter or how you make a card game or whatever it is. These hero shooters, they are speaking to the same audience in ways where. And they rely on those player numbers to continue to stay alive. Which is the problem. Like, you can't expect the same amount of people to all be playing 30 different live service shooters and expand like. And want money and time out of all those people. Like, that's just not going to work out for you.
Snowbike Mike
So now we return to reviving multiple classic franchises, which we've been waiting on for a while now. Yeah, when?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Soon.
Snowbike Mike
How long do we need to make a Crazy Taxi game?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean, you need some time when I think Crazy Taxi.
Snowbike Mike
When was that announced, though? Bless. We've been sitting on that for a while now.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Remember, four to five years, Mike, you
Snowbike Mike
can't be making Crazy Taxi for four to five years.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
How, Chad, how long ago was it three years that Crazy Taxi was announced?
Snowbike Mike
I felt like we maybe not three years, maybe two.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I bet you next year we start
Snowbike Mike
to see these Jet Set Radio Crazy Taxi announcements.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
See, we got. I feel like we got more stuff out of Crazy Taxi in the last few years. Right. Didn't we get like a trailer or something out of Crazy Taxi?
Snowbike Mike
I just remember the one mega SEGA stuff that they showed everything.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think Crazy Taxi comes before Jet Set Radio. I think Crazy Taxi. If I had to predict 2027, Crazy Taxi. 2028, Jet Set Radio. We saw Shinobi. That was last year. Wasn't that one of the SEGA things?
Snowbike Mike
Okay, okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Art of Vengeance.
Snowbike Mike
Art of Vengeance.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, I think that was. That was a double check, but I think that was one of those SEGA games, people. Want a pizza bet?
Snowbike Mike
I'm hoping to see more of these. Let's get it going. Right. If you're going to stop the super game, which is the right call.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Right call. Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
I'm still waiting for the SEGA revival of all these franchises. Like, let's see it.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You don't want to say this Pizza bet on Crazy Taxi.
Snowbike Mike
That what is next year?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Next year.
Snowbike Mike
No, because that's where I'd put crazy.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's where. Okay. Yeah. Okay. We're aligned.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm just saying it's like the four to five year statement for a Crazy Taxi game should not be the build out of Crazy Taxi. If we're gonna revive this franchise and be like, hey, we're gonna make a Crazy Taxi too one day, like, it should probably be more like the two to three years max.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
So maybe that's just the first one. You know, it's tougher to make that first game. You need time to, like, figure out what the structure of it is going to be. Figure out, like, you know, what does a 2026, 2027 crazy taxi. Yeah, I think maybe you take the time with it and then you follow up with the scene.
Snowbike Mike
Or are we really following up the Crazy Taxi?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, let's. Let's start there.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Are we gonna get a sequel?
Snowbike Mike
This might be a one and done.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, let's. Hey, let's all agree if the game's good. Let's just appreciate this Crazy Taxi for what it is. And, like, let's not build the expectation that we're gonna get Crazy Taxi too. But, like, let's be happy with the Crazy Taxi we get, because that's crazy that we're getting another Crazy taxi. Store number five. EBay rejects GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen's $56 billion offer to buy the company. Calls it neither credible nor attractive. This is Wesley Yenpool at IGN. EBay has officially rejected GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen's $56 billion offer to buy the company. The eBay board of directors said it had rejected GameStop's unsolicited proposal through a fo. A thorough. Or following a thorough review. Cohen had said that if eBay's board rejected his Offer, he would take it directly to shareholders, insisting that there is nobody who is more qualified, based on my experience, to run the ebay business. In a response letter to Cohen published In full below, eBay chairman Paul Pressler called the offer neither credible nor attractive. I don't think I need to read the entire letter. I'll just read.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, here's what the letter says.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
We're good, we're good. Yeah, I'll read some of the bullet points here. Right. We have concluded that your proposal was neither credible nor attractive. We've taken into account such factors as ebay's standalone prospects, Two, the uncertainty regarding your financial or financing proposal, three, the impact of your proposal on ebay's long term growth and profitability, four, the leverage, operational risks and leadership structure of combined entity, five, the resulting implications of these factors on valuation. And six, GameStop's governance and executive incentives. Cool.
Snowbike Mike
Thanks for the offer.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Thanks for the offer, but no, we're good. You're unserious, GameStop.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, I mean that's, that's it. That's all I got for that one. Yeah. That is the right call.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That is the right call.
Snowbike Mike
I don't see a future with making that business move. Would have been smart.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
This came in handy for me last night at Trivia because there was a round where they're like just going through a current events around and one of the questions was yeah, yeah, what company made a 50 billion dollar bid for eBay? And I looked at the crew I was with, I was like, guys, I got this handed over to me. I got this one. That was one of two questions I answered. Right? Let's move on to story number six. Dokev and Plan 8 are still in development. Do KV is in the pre production stage. This is Sal romano at Komatsu. Nine to 10 years, Mike.
Snowbike Mike
Nine to 10 years, that's a decade game. That's a, that's Grand Theft Auto numbers right there.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Why did they announce it? Why is it still in pre pro? We need money, we need a war. We need to put out Crimson Desert
Snowbike Mike
first and you know what, shout out to them. Taking a lot of effort and putting it into that game, right? That game was already big. The tech behind it was big. The game is getting a bunch of updates. So it's like we're seeing that go really well. And now like the tech is going to be moved into Dokev, right? The, the building and the, the support will be all into that as well. So it will be interesting to see how long do I wait for that game after seeing it so long ago,
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
the article reads real quick. Collectible massively multiplayer online RPG DOKEV and Exosuit massively multiplayer online shooter Plan A, which were originally announced alongside crimson desert in 2019, are still in development. Pearl Abyss said in its Q1 2016 financial results resources are currently being prioritized on Dokev, which is in the pre pro stage. Pearl Abyss said its goal is a new title released every two to three years, suggesting Dokev could launch as early as 2028. Plan 8 is currently in the conceptualization stage. Okay, so two to three years, but it's in pre pro 2019. Wow. When did we get trailer?
Snowbike Mike
Yesterday.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Because that trailer was in 2019. Because I worked here when we got that trailer. Maybe it was just announced as a thing.
Snowbike Mike
You were working here in 2019, right? No, I got hired because I was here. It was a summer game fest. I was here. Yeah. We react.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
It was a Gamescom opening night live.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
So we reacted to it.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. Yep. Okay. Well, now when we look at it, bless Doki V. Are you a little more sold on it? Are you excited about it after seeing what Crimson Desert is, what this team is capable of?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's a good question. I think Crimson Desert. You know what? I'll say yes. I'm more excited about it because Crimson Desert is a very impressive game. Even though it's not for me. Even though I'm going to check it out after all these updates, though, I like. I'm going to give it one more shot at some point this year. I'm going to go and go back to it. But it. I think it lends more credibility that Dokev is real because that trailer that we saw made it not look like a real video game.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
After playing Crimson Desert, I believe it's a real video game. Is it going to be amazing?
Snowbike Mike
Do they get sued to hell by. By Pokemon?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
No, no. Pokemon has so many other games to worry about before. Okay. Okv.
Snowbike Mike
Because, you know, they came after Palworld.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, but Palworld was straight up Pokemon.
Snowbike Mike
This is Pokemon.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
It's like, you know, Pokemon Elements, Power World. But I would sue Power World if I was. Yeah. If I was Pokemon. But like Doki V, you just. It's collectible monsters, but it's not Pokemon. Pokemon. Okay.
Snowbike Mike
I'm. I mean, I'm excited for this. We will see. I cannot believe that we're looking at footage of this and it's still so far away. Right.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean, they're. They're saying they want a new Game every two to three years. That's. Do you think we get this game in three years?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah. 20, 29, 20, 30.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You think we get it? Yeah. Okay.
Snowbike Mike
I think they have the tech now, right? Like, we saw that. That was the big push that. You know, when we. When they came to gdc, they said, hey, we have this engine now. This is our engine. We're the ones working on this. We're the ones that believe in it. We have now showed it to you. It is running with crimson desert like I there. It's time to build off of that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Time to build off it. Here's the thing. Because Mellow fellow is in chat. Pisses me off because Melo fellow says, bless did not play Power World. Lol. I didn't play Pal World, but I have eyes. Look up the pals.
Snowbike Mike
That's what Nintendo. Pokemon.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
That's a Lucario. Look up the power right there. Wait, rewind. Let me see the. I'll tell you if that's a Pokemon,
Snowbike Mike
that's the Eagle right there. That's the Eagle.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'll tell you, that's the Eagle from Po. That's. No, you can barely see what that is. I need more close ups. It kind of looks like the Eagle from Pokemon. The Eagle from which Eagle? From Pokemon. There's an eagle you can't call.
Snowbike Mike
Bravery. Avery.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bravery.
Snowbike Mike
Bravery.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bravery. He even has the eagle hat. Oh, you're talking about ho.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, no, no, no, no.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I'm talking about the Eagle.
Snowbike Mike
What did you just call me?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You know what I called you. What? You can't say it looks like an eagle because you can't copyright an eagle. That's a real animal. No, no, he said the Eagle from Pokemon. Okay, but what's the Eagle from Pokemon? Murkrow.
Snowbike Mike
No, Bravery.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
What is bravery? Do Google it, man. Right?
Snowbike Mike
How do you.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bravery from Pokemon. Bravery. Pokemon. This one. You know what? I apologize. I've never seen that Pokemon before. Oh, shit.
Snowbike Mike
They got an Eagle. Pokemon.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I didn't realize it was actually called Bravery. I didn't know there was a Pokemon called Bravery. It's like. It's Braviary.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, well, you know, you got to the point. I got you close to the point. Okay, that's on you.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. Buzz.
Snowbike Mike
Would you.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Knowing the name correct. Would you have been like, oh, okay, that's a pokem. Instead of fighting us, Braviary sounds like a name of Pokemon more than bravery does. Bravery.
Snowbike Mike
Avery.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bravery. Avery. And the first time he said it, that's how he said it. Bravery. Avery. And I Was like, I. I don't know what he's talking about but like I. He's, you know, he's doing pretty good.
Snowbike Mike
I'm excited to see this game. Back to it. I'm excited to see it. I looked up Plan 8 because I don't remember Plan 8 at all.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I don't remember that one.
Snowbike Mike
I don't remember ever seeing this. I had to look up. I watched the trailer.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bless.
Snowbike Mike
Okay, maybe I'll give it a maybe right now.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Maybe for what?
Snowbike Mike
No, for. For Plan 8. It was like it's so many things. And then when I saw mmo, it gave me. When you watch the trailer at first, if you don't know it's an mmo. Yeah, it was giving dying light meets like just a third person shooter. Trying to figure out what kind of division. Like vibes. They got exo suits. They were ripping doors off of cars, using them as like, you know, shields, there a riot shield. But then when they were like, oh, it's an mmo. Then my mind went to Still Human. What was the MMO we recently played where you could build your own plot of land and it was like Scary Monsters. It had the bus with the arms coming out of it. I think it's called Still Human.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Okay.
Snowbike Mike
Then my mind went to that be interesting.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Plan eight.
Snowbike Mike
This is plan eight.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, shit. Do you.
Snowbike Mike
Do you remember this?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I don't remember, but I kind of with it though. Yeah, I. I would play this, man. Embark Studios and Pearl Abyss.
Snowbike Mike
I feel like might want to keep eyes on them.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh yeah. Both those studios feel like they're going to be like the talk of the town. I know they're already the talk of the town, but continue. I feel like those studios are going to dominate conversation continuing on for the next like six or seven years.
Snowbike Mike
I think they've proven that they got.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Because every three years we're gonna get a game. Mike. Let's see if big things continue to come out of Pearl Abyss Animark Studios. But if I wanted smaller things, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
Snowbike Mike
Let's I take you to our last story, the WE News channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Story number seven. Speaking of Power World, I am the story number seven was a full news story. I'm demoting it to WE News.
Snowbike Mike
Keep it tight because this is kind
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
of we do pocket pair trademarks. Power World Online. I don't. Mike, is there any read on that? Is that just an online mode for the Existing power world. Is that a new thing?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, the conversation there in the article was is this just something they're already doing or will this be something more we will see in the future? I don't know.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Bless.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, but anything pal World. They got me Pocket pair. They've earned mine. Like I'm into this. Yeah, let's see what they do next.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Pocket Bear might be in that. Embark Pearl Abyss conversation.
Snowbike Mike
Big launch with that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
One more we news for you from Wario 64 via deadline fallout. Aaron Paul joins season three of Prime Video series.
Snowbike Mike
Excited to see who he is. No spoilers. I guess I'll still give you a chance to watch the show, but excited to see where they go and like where he would fit in will be interesting.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I mean I have an idea. Not anything specific but like there's a group that's probably going to be more prominent in season three. I can see him being like part of that. Yeah, major part of that. Okay, more we news from you from Wario 64. Nintendo Switch 2 choose your own game bundle has been announced for 500. You can get a Switch to with the choice of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Pokemon Pecopia starting in early June.
Snowbike Mike
So you get a redemption code for one of these three games.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yes, I like download code for one of those.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, that's cool.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
More for you from neowiz press release. Liza P's sequel has entered full production.
Snowbike Mike
Get ready.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Come on, come on. I can't wait. Mercury Steam is that sad news? Mercury Steam has laid off an undisclosed number of employees. And then finally Abyssus is coming to Xbox and PS5 on June 25th. And that is it for We News. Nice. Let's hop in to super chats real quick before we get out of here. Mob actually says. My guess, Jet Set and Crazy Taxi are both this year. Dude, could you imagine this?
Snowbike Mike
This summer we see in the.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
There's no way Jet Set is. They've shown nothing of Jet Set. I feel like Crazy Tax. We've gotten a little bit. A little bit of over the last couple years.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, so you're gonna put those out near in like the GTA world? Would you want them to have like a semi decent shot?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think Crazy Tax will be fine.
Snowbike Mike
Okay.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I think. Well, if it comes out before gta.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You're not going to put that out after gta. Wait, you give that. If you're putting out a game, don't put any game out after gta, bro.
Snowbike Mike
Especially if you're Sega trying to revitalize. Yeah, like, let's. Let's give them a lot of space. Let's find a month where there's no game at all to give you a reason why you should be buying crazy taxi in 2026.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
There should not be a game anywhere near this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I feel like you're underrated in Crazy Taxi.
Snowbike Mike
Not underrated.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I feel like you're underrating Crazy Taxi Blessing.
Snowbike Mike
I put a Crazy Taxi where it should be.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, man, the streets are going to show up for Crazy Taxi Jetset radio. However, I'm not sure. I love jet set radio. Yeah, but, like, Crazy Taxi has way more name recognition. We all know Crazy Taxi. Yeah, we all love. I go to a random person on the street. On the street, and I'm like, yo, you know Crazy Taxi? And he's like, oh, I played that in the arcade growing up.
Snowbike Mike
I paid $20 at most for Crazy Taxi.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Well, that's what it's got. You're not going to put out a $70 crazy taxi. That's crazy. Newbie. Newbie Prod writes in and says, give me a Chow Garden slash Chow Garden builder on mobile slash steam.
Snowbike Mike
And.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And I'm good to go. Have Sega characters visit the garden and such. Bring back child gardens. You're speaking to the choir, brother. They're never going to do it, though. More people asking about Marvel Rival Season 8 trailer. The DJ DEFCON says, Plus, have you seen the Marvel Rivals new Season 8 trailer showing Cyclops? Pretty hype. Is it different from the Dino trailer?
Snowbike Mike
Yeah, they bl. I think. I think Kevin might have brought up like a. A dev one there because it was a little bit longer. He was clicking through. It's not the official trailer.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
You want me to pull up the official trailer? Pull up the official trail.
Snowbike Mike
I would like to see Cyclops. That's cool.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Huey Yang says, kind of anime was great. Mike and Barrett, merry episode always tears me up.
Snowbike Mike
Thank you, homie. Thank you for watching. And of course, shout out to Barrett. Right. Barrett loves talking anime. I'm glad to go on the ride with him. And he continues to give me great recommendations to give a try, too.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
And so thank you for watching Gondor's Condor. Says, started Ted Lasso with my girlfriend over the weekend. I see what people compare him to. Snowbike Mike.
Snowbike Mike
Thanks, homie. I mean, that's one of my favorite shows of all time. I still keep FIFA 24.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah.
Snowbike Mike
Downloaded because that was the one they had AFC Richmond, which also, hey, EA, you have a lot of money. Let's work out with Apple and let's get. Let's just make sure that that team is in the game every single year moving forward.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Honestly, you don't have to update it.
Snowbike Mike
We don't got to do anything. Just put that team in the game for me.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
They're bringing back the show. So are you excited? No.
Snowbike Mike
Coaching a women's team now.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
I hope it's good. I. I love season one. Ted Lasso Season one. Season two was all right. Season three, I think, went real downhi in a way where I'm like, o. Hold on. This Cyclops trailer. Hold on. Oh, this is pretty sick.
Snowbike Mike
This team is. This Netes. Who. Who is making this?
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Netties.
Snowbike Mike
They're the developers on this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah, that.
Snowbike Mike
Hey, put that on your list. They be cooking over there.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
They. They've been cooking for a while, though.
Snowbike Mike
They be cooking on this.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Hold on. Who's that? Who's the. Who's. Who's this girl? Damn.
Snowbike Mike
There.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
These are some good animations. Dude. This is. I mean, I loved X Men 97.
Snowbike Mike
Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
But I'd also love an X Men thing that looked like this more. Okay, but X Men 97 already is perfect. So I actually. I guess I don't need it, but this is cool. Is that moon girl? People are saying moon girl. Okay. All right, let's hop into your wrong where you write in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it. For those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe, Kevin, we're gonna look into a way to block Jepo from. From your wrong.
Snowbike Mike
Oh, no, Jeff.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh.
Snowbike Mike
Every time I'm on the show, you bring up Jepo.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, what was that? What'd you say?
Snowbike Mike
Sorry. Every time I'm on the show, you
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
bring Jeppo every day. Every day. Because he writes in a year long. Every day. And I know Greg says ignore him. Just don't say their name. I don't care. Jeppo, I want you to feel bad. Okay? All right. I want you to feel bad. I need to. I need to figure out who made that. And I'm sure, like, I'm sure we can figure out how to ban him. Thank you. Her Hurado writes in and says bless. Quoted Harada saying, there are many things I want to do, but since it belongs to snk, I can't say anything suggesting that he meant he wants to tackle an existing SNK ip. But just as an FYI slash technical correction, Versus Studio is owned by snk, so anything he does, anything he does will belong to snk. So existing IP or not, he probably can't say anything about anything until execs give him the go ahead. That's correct. That's probably like that. Yeah, that's a. That's a. That's a good year. Wrong. And we didn't even talk about the idea of like, what does a new IP from Harada look like? Because honestly, that's what I'd want. I want Harada to make a brand new fighting game.
Snowbike Mike
You assume he's going fighting game. Yeah.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yeah. It's easy to jump to 99%. He's going fighting game. Yeah. Yes. But a new Harada ip, that's like, that's able to enter the ecosystem as a new, like, major game. That could be so good. Yeah, that could be so good for the fighting game ecosystem. I think that would be the best option. Honestly, I like that. And that is it. Yes. That is it. For your. Wrong. Because y' all be editorializing up in here. Mike, we're gonna do a very fun games cast after this.
Snowbike Mike
This one's gonna be cool.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
This is gonna be really.
Snowbike Mike
I really hope that this one is, like, good from all of y' all and then the audience receives it. Well, because I would like to do more of these. I think it was really cool what Greg did of like, hey, let's bust open an old school magazine. Let's read through it and pick out some of the things and like, let's look back like, I love that.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Yes. We're gonna bust open, I believe it's EGM from 20 years ago and just go through it for an episode of Gamescast and talk about what they were talking about, reminisce, talk about some classic game shit, which is shit that I love. So we're gonna get also the advertisements in this.
Snowbike Mike
Let's talk about the ads.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, I can't wait. I've not seen anything from it. Oh, I'm so excited.
Snowbike Mike
Wait till you see that Axe fragrance spray ad. That's insane. I cannot believe we were doing that
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
back then in 2007, 2008. Axe body spray that was holding me down. Probably had me smelling crazy.
Snowbike Mike
They had so much money.
Blessing (Blessing Adeoye Jr.)
Oh, they had so much money. I was getting Ax Body spray all the time. This has been Games Daily.
